:00:54. > :00:58.Happy New Year, welcome to Bormio in Italy where the best downhill races
:00:59. > :01:13.in the world are preparing to tackle the punishing Pista Stelvio. It has
:01:14. > :01:17.been a strange season won the World Cup circuit, the stars are showing
:01:18. > :01:31.glimpses of brilliance but there has been a lot of uncertainty. Goodness
:01:32. > :01:40.me! She is in trouble there, we will call it a day. This course in Bormio
:01:41. > :01:46.is so brutal, there is no margin for error. Who will hold their nerve?
:01:47. > :01:52.That is the men's downhill from Bormio, and for those of you of all
:01:53. > :02:07.freestyle persuasion, there is plenty more.
:02:08. > :02:15.Strange days, Graham, the men's World Cup circuit, definitely. There
:02:16. > :02:25.is no real standout this season. Certainly not in men's downhill. Two
:02:26. > :02:29.years after Kuche retired, there is no one taking the bull by the horns,
:02:30. > :02:39.and also there is the elephant in the room, the Olympic Games. I spoke
:02:40. > :02:43.to Maria Hoefl-Riesch, and she was saying the World Cup is so intense,
:02:44. > :02:51.you have got to be in the moment. If you get are good result in that, it
:02:52. > :03:03.will help you in the Olympic Games. Here is what some others think. I
:03:04. > :03:11.just play it race by race and see how it goes. It is good for the ego,
:03:12. > :03:16.for the confidence, and to have a blaze in the Olympic Games we have
:03:17. > :03:22.to ski well in the World Cup. What is more important, the World Cup
:03:23. > :03:29.downhill all the Olympic Games? For sure, the Olympics. If I show up to
:03:30. > :03:40.have a race, I will try to be the best in anything. Who is the man to
:03:41. > :04:06.beat here? Is it Svindal? He has definitely been the most consistent,
:04:07. > :04:18.but Hoffer is one to watch, and Eric Gay, but this could also be Bode
:04:19. > :04:24.Miller's contest. It is a really icy, dark, gnarly roller-coaster.
:04:25. > :04:37.You get yourself in the zone, because it is time for his course
:04:38. > :04:41.Rome. -- run. I will try my hardest, but it has been snowing and there is
:04:42. > :04:49.a lot of new snow on the track which will slow things down.
:04:50. > :04:56.There are two sections you have to get right on this course, this is
:04:57. > :05:01.the first one. You have got to ski through these technical turns and
:05:02. > :05:20.carry the speed onto the bumpy Traverse. If you run low, you are
:05:21. > :05:26.going to lose all your speed. You have got to take a high line, and
:05:27. > :05:43.then you can convert that into speed. Out towards the San Pietro
:05:44. > :05:47.jump. Onto the gliding section. Now we are approaching the second part
:05:48. > :05:55.of the course that you really have to nail if you want to win here.
:05:56. > :06:04.This is the finish. You have got to come through really high and carry
:06:05. > :06:18.maximum speed down these bumpy, icy turns. Over the last little hop and
:06:19. > :06:24.out towards the line. As fun as you remember it? Fun is a peculiar word
:06:25. > :06:30.to use. It is really rough and bumpy, the visibility is dark. They
:06:31. > :06:34.turned the lights on up there and it is still dark. If that was a
:06:35. > :06:40.Christmas present, it was delivered by a very bad Santa clause. I will
:06:41. > :06:45.let you get your breath back. Now it is time to the big boys to get on
:06:46. > :06:50.the course. Matt Chilton has the commentary.
:06:51. > :06:56.The start has been delayed because of bad snow but now the conditions
:06:57. > :07:10.are good enough. The light and fresh snow add another uncertain dimension
:07:11. > :07:17.to the men's downhill. Defago, out of the gate. It is rough and bumpy
:07:18. > :07:22.today, the visibility is poor. The Olympic downhill champion on his
:07:23. > :07:28.way. He has shown few signs of returning form in the opening part
:07:29. > :07:35.of this season. Did the double back in 2009, the famous double which he
:07:36. > :07:40.won in successive weekends. The following season he won the Olympic
:07:41. > :07:48.downhill. It is rough and bumpy along there. This looks pretty solid
:07:49. > :07:56.for the moment for Didier Defago. A little hop, skip and a jump, landed
:07:57. > :08:11.solidly, and flies the big San Pietro jump. Two thirds of the way
:08:12. > :08:20.through, Travis Ganong leads. Nice work so far from Didier Defago and
:08:21. > :08:27.he is getting quicker. Experience counts for a lot on a day like
:08:28. > :08:34.today. They raised two training runs earlier in the week. He knows this
:08:35. > :08:37.course well, and he skied it well as well. Good stuff from the downhill
:08:38. > :08:44.champion. Didier Defago, the Olympic champion,
:08:45. > :08:48.takes an early lead but there is a lot of new snow on the course, and
:08:49. > :08:59.does that gets brushed off, the track should get quicker. He will be
:09:00. > :09:06.hoping it starts to snow again. Bode Miller, never far from the podium in
:09:07. > :09:16.Bormio. If the downhill winning comeback will happen anywhere, it
:09:17. > :09:24.should be here. Bode Miller is away, and it looks like he means
:09:25. > :09:32.business with a powerful start. Quicker than Didier Defago at the
:09:33. > :09:38.intermediate. A couple of emergency manoeuvres here from the American,
:09:39. > :09:59.who once lost his ski on this course on the way down. 0.27 behind, and he
:10:00. > :10:04.has a high line, back into the tuck position for as long as he can. He
:10:05. > :10:16.is a crowd favourite, wherever he goes. Off the San Pietro jump,
:10:17. > :10:22.stretches his legs on the landing. A couple of clicks slower than the
:10:23. > :10:28.Swiss through the gum. The timing is heading in the wrong direction as
:10:29. > :10:33.far as Miller and his fans are concerned. Another shaky,
:10:34. > :10:37.left-handed turn. He looks absolutely shattered, he has put
:10:38. > :10:41.everything into it. Tough conditions, and your legs hurt even
:10:42. > :10:51.more when you cannot really see where you are going. Miller has
:10:52. > :10:58.failed today. 1.25 behind Didier Defago. He was just trying a little
:10:59. > :11:02.bit too hard, even coming onto that bumpy Traverse run late in the
:11:03. > :11:07.line, the outside ski bouncing around the place. He doesn't like it
:11:08. > :11:35.when the light is not good, but no excuses, that was not a great run.
:11:36. > :11:44.The self-proclaimed womaniser but was Christof Innerhoffer up next now
:11:45. > :12:01.has a girlfriend so the others can rest easy. He shared victory with
:12:02. > :12:06.Austria in his last competition. Giving them something to celebrate
:12:07. > :12:16.in 2009. Five hundredths behind the current leader, Didier Defago. This
:12:17. > :12:21.is an encouraging start. There will be a lot of noise as he reaches the
:12:22. > :12:26.mid part of the course. A couple of thousand Italians camped out there.
:12:27. > :12:36.Now they can see that it is looking green for Christof Innerhofer. It is
:12:37. > :12:45.a good, high line. Nearly got twisted, that was not so clever.
:12:46. > :12:49.Clipped the control gate, sets up for the San Pietro, started his
:12:50. > :12:54.flight well, then straightened his legs to make sure of the landing.
:12:55. > :13:10.How close is he to Didier Defago hear? He is in touch. Travelling
:13:11. > :13:21.well. That was a brave line from the Italian, shows an original way into
:13:22. > :13:33.this section of the course. The final role, keeps it low, tucking in
:13:34. > :13:40.for home, and Innerhofer has it. An Italian leads the way in Bormio, and
:13:41. > :13:45.that is great cause for celebration for these supporters. He made a
:13:46. > :13:53.little mistake as he went past the mid-station, and that cost him a
:13:54. > :13:58.couple of tenths. He invested an awful lot then, staying really high,
:13:59. > :14:02.and that meant he was slow on the last intermediate time, but then
:14:03. > :14:15.that height convert it into speed and he flew into the finish and made
:14:16. > :14:26.up all of that time and more. Lets see if this year, Erik Guay can turn
:14:27. > :14:30.things around. Erik Guay, on his way for Canada. Like a speed skater
:14:31. > :14:36.coming out of the start, trying to generate some fast velocity across
:14:37. > :14:50.the snow, which is getting a bit quicker as each racer comes down. He
:14:51. > :14:53.is already a winner this season. He took the downhill classic on the
:14:54. > :15:11.21st of December. And Eric A maintains his lead. Not
:15:12. > :15:30.really taking risks here. -- Erik Guay. The left footed turn is where
:15:31. > :15:35.Innerhofer made a mistake. Guay comes through without any problems.
:15:36. > :15:39.What a jump from Erik Guay! We have not seen anybody smoother in flight
:15:40. > :15:48.than the Canadian was there. Fantastic to watch. And he has got
:15:49. > :15:57.the reward. He is getting quicker all the time. A little mistake from
:15:58. > :16:08.Guay, almost ending up on his backside. Looks like he is into his
:16:09. > :16:18.reserve tanks of energy now. And he is quicker than Innerhofer. Erik
:16:19. > :16:24.Guay, with a storming run on the Stelvio. So Erik Guay takes the lead
:16:25. > :16:27.on the top part of the course. He was absolutely flying. And in the
:16:28. > :16:34.midsection, beautiful over the San Pietro jump. Perfect technique in
:16:35. > :16:39.the air. If I have got to be picky, the lower section was not very
:16:40. > :16:44.good. He lost a huge chunk of time down there, so his run could be
:16:45. > :16:49.beaten. Although Aksel Lund Svindal has won the world downhill title
:16:50. > :16:51.twice, his pedigree over the top downhill tracks remain somewhat in
:16:52. > :16:59.the balance. He has never placed on the podium in Kitzbuhel, and only
:17:00. > :17:10.once here in Bormio. A win today would go a long way to silencing
:17:11. > :17:18.those doubters. Aksel Lund Svindal is enjoying a
:17:19. > :17:30.brilliant start to the season. This is the second of three down hills
:17:31. > :17:39.that have taken place so far. Aksel Lund Svindal then had a top five and
:17:40. > :17:42.has enjoyed great success. He seems to be winding up for an assault on
:17:43. > :17:49.the forthcoming Olympic Winter games in Sochi, and what a top section.
:17:50. > :18:06.The Norwegian is leaving it all on the hill a in Bormio. He is just
:18:07. > :18:13.about matching Guay. Svindal gets a bit of air under the tips of his
:18:14. > :18:27.skis. This is a real attack. He is hungry for this. He wants it. Pretty
:18:28. > :18:35.solid. Guay had a little mistake at this next right footed term. --
:18:36. > :18:38.turn. If Svindal can get this right, he might get the better of
:18:39. > :18:46.the Canadian. It looks a little smoother. 14 hundredths of a second
:18:47. > :18:49.are all that separate the leader, Erik Guay, and the man on the
:18:50. > :18:54.mountain at the moment, Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway. Svindal is one of
:18:55. > :18:59.the fittest of them. He will not be feeling any pain here as he skis for
:19:00. > :19:09.the lead in Bormio. Yes, he has got it! What a finish from Svindal.
:19:10. > :19:16.So, Svindal punishes temp won for that mistake he made on that last
:19:17. > :19:19.term. He was behind all the intermediates, and then when it came
:19:20. > :19:24.to the last split, he did not make the same mistake as Erik Guay, and
:19:25. > :19:44.that has given him the lead. That could give him the win.
:19:45. > :19:49.Good start from Reichelt. Competition building all the time
:19:50. > :19:52.within the Austrian camp, as Olympics election draws near. Only
:19:53. > :19:56.four men and women per nation and take part in the games, and the
:19:57. > :20:00.Austrians have a dozen downhill as to choose from. So they need to
:20:01. > :20:08.start performing now to be sure of a trip to Sochi. Reichelt do his
:20:09. > :20:39.chances the power of good with another solid result here. That was
:20:40. > :20:43.a good jump as well. Reichelt still potentially good enough for a top
:20:44. > :20:50.three. This was where Svindal got it just right and where Guay's mistake
:20:51. > :21:03.came. Just a bit of sunshine to show the way. Reichelt has got better
:21:04. > :21:09.visibility. Excellent finish. Second position. Reichelt pushes Svindal
:21:10. > :21:15.close. Excellent run from the Austrian.
:21:16. > :21:19.The Austrian downhill team have not been performing well this year, but
:21:20. > :21:24.Reichelt does love this course. He was joint first here last year and
:21:25. > :21:29.was able to put down a really good, clean one. It looks like the sun is
:21:30. > :21:41.starting to break through, so maybe this race is not completely over
:21:42. > :21:53.yet. The French have a really good
:21:54. > :21:59.tradition in the Olympic downhill. They got the men's gold medal in
:22:00. > :22:05.cheering in 2006. Theaux's season appears to be building towards the
:22:06. > :22:29.Winter Olympics games. He has made a good start here as well. He had to
:22:30. > :22:38.adjust his balance. Seems to have recovered his form. This is good
:22:39. > :22:42.from the Frenchman. He has had good results so far this season,
:22:43. > :23:02.including a first place in the first downhill of the tour in Canada. This
:23:03. > :23:17.section of terms can make or break a racer's downhill. The last
:23:18. > :23:28.left-handed turn, and he tucks in for the line. He has skied into
:23:29. > :23:31.fourth place. Great result for Adrien Theaux, due
:23:32. > :23:36.to the fact that the sun is starting to break through. Although the
:23:37. > :23:39.course is bumpy and the track is getting slower because of the bumps,
:23:40. > :23:44.if you can see them, it certainly helps an awful lot. And if it does
:23:45. > :23:47.clear up completely, it will speed it up by over a second. So it could
:23:48. > :24:07.be that the race is not completely over. We will have to wait and see.
:24:08. > :24:29.Meyer is certainly focused on getting a place in Sochi. He has
:24:30. > :24:34.started well. There are 34 Austrians who have been better than him in
:24:35. > :24:49.World Cup races so far. Now would be a good day for Mayer to really turn
:24:50. > :25:08.it on here in Stelvio. Squashes himself up into an aerodynamic ball.
:25:09. > :25:16.That was a good jump. Svindal was the one who was strongest on that
:25:17. > :25:20.section. Mayer will not be able to catch Aksel Lund Svindal. He is too
:25:21. > :25:29.far behind. He could just cement his place in the Austrian Olympic team.
:25:30. > :25:35.That was an excellent run. So, Mayer, taking advantage of the
:25:36. > :25:40.fact that the sun is starting to break through. That will give the
:25:41. > :25:44.Austrian something to look forward to. It will make for an interesting
:25:45. > :25:58.qualification for the Olympics in Sochi. Varettoni not only has local
:25:59. > :26:03.knowledge, but he has sunshine as well. It is much easier to
:26:04. > :26:24.anticipate the little lumps and bumps that come very regularly on
:26:25. > :26:38.this downhill course. This is good from the young Italian. That was
:26:39. > :26:43.solid as well. Gave himself a really solid start. And he might give
:26:44. > :27:11.himself a personal best result here in Bormio. I think he will be
:27:12. > :27:24.kicking himself. The Russians have one or two decent slalom and giant
:27:25. > :27:27.slalom skiers. They will want the chance of scoring a home medal in
:27:28. > :27:34.their home Winter Olympics. Svindal is still the leader. Glebov has good
:27:35. > :27:51.conditions. The snow has eased off. The light has improved. He is in
:27:52. > :27:55.trouble. Glebov is going to tangle with the nets here. Ouch! Goodness
:27:56. > :28:01.me, that is a big shunt from the Russian. I hope he is OK. No way
:28:02. > :28:07.back from here, he just has to sit tight and hope for the best. The
:28:08. > :28:19.soft snow cushioned his fall. The ski patrol are there quickly.
:28:20. > :28:26.This is a racer who has been on the cusp of the top French downhill
:28:27. > :28:30.skiers for the last six or seven skiers. Look at the conditions for
:28:31. > :28:37.the Frenchman, racing in bright sunshine. A massive jump. Goodness
:28:38. > :28:58.me, he was lucky to escape away from that. Took him by surprise. Fayed
:28:59. > :29:10.having a bit of a moment here. Got a window in the weather. Maybe Gill
:29:11. > :29:22.Fayed can do something similar here. He is not far away. Something to
:29:23. > :29:25.celebrate for the Frenchman the sun is breaking through, and that is
:29:26. > :29:29.definitely helping the racers. The track is bumpy, though, and that
:29:30. > :29:33.is costing them time on the lower part of the course. At a great run
:29:34. > :29:38.from Fayed shows that it is possible.
:29:39. > :30:02.So Aksel Lund Svindal wins in Bormio for the first time. What do you
:30:03. > :30:10.think made the difference today? I don't know if you watched the race
:30:11. > :30:16.today but he Innerhofer -- was amazingly fast on the last split. It
:30:17. > :30:23.is dark, and you need to have enough power and guts and courage to let it
:30:24. > :30:34.run down there. Last year I lost this race on the last 100 and I was
:30:35. > :30:40.determined not to do that. They had really bad luck, but the top group
:30:41. > :30:45.when they were starting, the light was OK. Did you see your
:30:46. > :30:52.intermediate times? Did you see how fast you were? I had a great top
:30:53. > :30:57.section, I really pushed it where I needed to. I just couldn't get the
:30:58. > :31:04.new ski to pick up but those things happened and I am satisfied with my
:31:05. > :31:09.racing. Is that man the new Colossus in the men's downhill? He is
:31:10. > :31:32.certainly a powerful man. You have got to say he rules the roost of the
:31:33. > :31:38.men's downhill. If you when Kitzbuehel, you are the best in the
:31:39. > :31:44.world. Now it is time to look elsewhere in the world of winter
:31:45. > :31:50.sports, this is the news. Calgary bore witness to unprecedented scenes
:31:51. > :31:54.for British winter sport two days ago. Freestyle skier rowing Cheshire
:31:55. > :31:59.became the first British woman to win the World Cup half pipe event.
:32:00. > :32:05.You have to look back over two decades for any similar British
:32:06. > :32:13.success. It propels her to second in the world rankings. This is what I
:32:14. > :32:59.have been working towards. It is one place closer to Sochi as well. In
:33:00. > :33:10.the women's World Cup, Austria's Marlies Schild having success. You
:33:11. > :33:16.can see now why so much as expected at these games. Now another member
:33:17. > :33:27.of team GB who is expected to do well is Jenny Jones. The past decade
:33:28. > :33:33.she has the discipline and now she has a chance to win an Olympic gold
:33:34. > :33:34.medal. I caught up with her to see how she is preparing and to take her
:33:35. > :33:55.on a little stroll. The woman in the yellow jacket is
:33:56. > :34:02.Britain's most successful winter sport athlete, I will not disturb
:34:03. > :34:12.her up for the last ten years she has dominated slope style
:34:13. > :34:15.snowboarding. This is one of the qualifying events for the Sochi
:34:16. > :34:34.Olympic Games and she is currently in first place.
:34:35. > :34:46.Jenny Jones! So good. Does that mean you are all but guaranteed a spot
:34:47. > :34:55.for the Olympic Games? I never like to say unless I know for sure. It is
:34:56. > :35:02.a massive step. Just to get a podium as well, I haven't had a podium for
:35:03. > :35:09.a while. I was like, will I ever get a podium again? And I did! Go and
:35:10. > :35:12.rest, you have got a big day tomorrow. After her impressive
:35:13. > :35:18.second place, we set off on a journey that I hoped would take
:35:19. > :35:23.Jenny out of her comfort zone. We were using split boards, snowboards
:35:24. > :35:28.that split into two, allowing you to access remote parts of the
:35:29. > :35:46.mountains. Our guide explained what was in store. This is goal number
:35:47. > :35:51.one, wearing shorts! For stride length! It will look like the same
:35:52. > :35:59.pace but I will not be getting as much distance. It is probably the
:36:00. > :36:08.best place in the world to learn how to split board. Yes, that is what I
:36:09. > :36:13.am talking about! It has been a while since I carried this kind of
:36:14. > :36:18.weight. Get it all in the right place, sitting on the hips. For
:36:19. > :36:31.added humiliation, the first section of downhill so you have two ski it.
:36:32. > :36:40.Bear in mind, I have not skied for a week in my whole life. That was more
:36:41. > :36:47.adrenaline than I was expecting! More adrenaline than yesterday? Yes,
:36:48. > :36:51.let's try the lunge again. Jenny has dominated her sport for almost a
:36:52. > :36:55.decade but I wanted to get her into the wilderness to see if it gave her
:36:56. > :36:59.a different perspective on what she has achieved and still hopes to
:37:00. > :37:03.achieve. I thought I was taking Jenny out of her comfort zone, but
:37:04. > :37:09.by the looks of it she is very comfortable after about three hours
:37:10. > :37:17.already, and after an initial problem with her foot, she has got
:37:18. > :37:22.her teeth stuck into this. I like to do this, because otherwise my pace
:37:23. > :37:30.drops off and goes into Jenny Short legged mode! I feel like I have gone
:37:31. > :37:36.into another realm, into survival mode. I feel all right. I definitely
:37:37. > :37:46.had a little bit earlier on but now I feel we are on the home straight.
:37:47. > :37:51.I have done it! There was a period there when I thought you might not.
:37:52. > :37:56.That took her about an hour longer than it was supposed to, and Jenny
:37:57. > :37:59.went through about three different phases of total and utter
:38:00. > :38:05.frustration, physical exhaustion, then elation. I think she is pretty
:38:06. > :38:15.tired now and she will eat like a horse and sleep like a baby, but she
:38:16. > :38:21.is pretty excited as well. I have not split boarded before and I was
:38:22. > :38:26.excited this morning to see what it was all about. I was definitely
:38:27. > :38:30.tired, so a lot of adrenaline had been in me yesterday and I didn't
:38:31. > :38:40.realise how draining that was to have it all come out of me. When I
:38:41. > :38:45.saw the hut in the distance, I was like, glory! And I did have a sense
:38:46. > :39:01.of achievement, doing something different. It was really nice.
:39:02. > :39:09.The last time we met, you had known that slope style was going to be in
:39:10. > :39:15.the Olympics for about six months and you were equal parts terrified
:39:16. > :39:20.and excited about it. Has that changed? I don't know, probably
:39:21. > :39:26.equal still, but in different ways. Still just as excited, and less
:39:27. > :39:31.terrified because obviously I have got some better results under my
:39:32. > :39:37.belt. If you had spoken to me two days ago, I was still very on edge,
:39:38. > :39:46.I needed more points, nothing safe yet. I wonder if competition is
:39:47. > :39:55.something you have learned to do, or if the two come hand-in-hand. I get
:39:56. > :40:01.a buzz out of landing a trick, but also I get a buzz of landing the
:40:02. > :40:10.tricks when it counts in the competition. One event at a time,
:40:11. > :40:13.and trying hard to remember why I like snowboarding, and again, coming
:40:14. > :40:23.back to the same thing, enjoying the tricks. We are going to go and make
:40:24. > :40:28.the most of the sun. I think it is icy but the slope is gentle and
:40:29. > :40:41.nice. It will be nice just to try the board. And the split board. Are
:40:42. > :40:52.you excited? Yes, I am excited to put it into snowboard mode.
:40:53. > :40:55.Unfortunately, despite the early promise of sunshine, the weather
:40:56. > :41:04.quickly closed in and we were forced to retreat to the hut. It was so
:41:05. > :41:10.nice to get taken away from the environment I am usually in, its
:41:11. > :41:14.trade up to the park, checking what the jumps are like, getting ready
:41:15. > :41:20.and that sort of thing, but to come and do this, I have had a really
:41:21. > :41:25.nice time. It is difficult not to get really excited when you listen
:41:26. > :41:30.to her talk and you see her arrive at this level, that something really
:41:31. > :41:35.good will not happen when we get to Sochi. We wish Jenny all the best as
:41:36. > :41:40.she recovers from the concussion she suffered after a training accident
:41:41. > :41:45.last month. We cannot wait to see her back in action in Sochi. Now it
:41:46. > :41:50.is time to catch up with one of our stars from the future. Let's see how
:41:51. > :42:06.one of Yorkshire's finest young Cossacks is getting on. I am James
:42:07. > :42:18.Woods from Sheffield, and I am a slope style skier. It is going to be
:42:19. > :42:23.drawn out, down the hill. Every course is different, all the
:42:24. > :42:28.competitions have different courses. The idea is just to express the best
:42:29. > :42:34.that you can do and it is judged sport. There are no rules, no one's
:42:35. > :42:38.saying you cannot do this, you cannot do that, there is none of
:42:39. > :42:45.that. It is your way of getting down that slope. Obviously stoked to be
:42:46. > :42:54.in the Olympics, it is fantastic to have the exposure of the widest
:42:55. > :42:59.audience in our sport. Feeling the pressure of expectation, obviously
:43:00. > :43:04.it will be fantastic but I just want to do my best. I want to bring that
:43:05. > :43:09.medal back the Great Britain. I will certainly go out and strive for it,
:43:10. > :43:16.I just hope everyone realises I will do my best, and we will see how we
:43:17. > :43:22.do. That's all we have time for. We are heading to Switzerland next week
:43:23. > :43:26.for the men's giant slalom, where the battles continue. Before that we
:43:27. > :43:34.have live coverage of the women's downhill next Saturday from
:43:35. > :43:44.10:30am. You can watch it on the red button, the BBC sport app, or the
:43:45. > :43:48.full race afterwards on the iPlayer. Press your red button in
:43:49. > :44:07.approximately 30 seconds, we have the coverage of the World Cup
:44:08. > :44:14.skeleton competition from Germany. From Bormio, ciao. 18, 17, 16...
