:00:50. > :00:56.Hello and welcome to Ski Sunday from Red Square. That's right, we

:00:56. > :01:00.are in Russia just one year before the Winter Olympics from Sochi and

:01:00. > :01:07.we have a spectacular show of parallel slalom night racing.

:01:07. > :01:12.Skiers go head-to-head in a head- to-head format. His minus 22 so

:01:12. > :01:17.don't laugh at our hats! They are necessary and this was the last one

:01:17. > :01:22.in the shop. There are no mountain ranges here. Instead we have a

:01:22. > :01:32.massive man made ski-slope. This is no normal programme. This is Moscow

:01:32. > :02:11.

:02:11. > :02:16.Later on in the show we will be in St Moritz, where Amy Williams will

:02:16. > :02:21.be giving us tips on how to get down to the bob track. Now we are

:02:21. > :02:26.in Moscow for the first parallel slalom on Ski Sunday. What is it

:02:26. > :02:32.all about? The crowd, the atmosphere. Head-to-head racing, so

:02:32. > :02:36.much more exciting. You can see who crosses the line first, even if it

:02:36. > :02:41.is only a few hundredths of a second. They have this massive

:02:41. > :02:47.scaffolding and they have piled snow on top of it and frozen it.

:02:47. > :02:51.How does the format work? It is over two runs. If you lose the

:02:51. > :02:58.first one, you take in that disadvantage, that time deficit

:02:58. > :03:03.into the second. You start it will open a fraction of a second later.

:03:03. > :03:07.-- your start gate. That will show you how far you are behind and help

:03:07. > :03:13.you catch up that deficit. We have men and women here tonight. Who

:03:13. > :03:17.will do well from the women? Tina Maze, I think. Lindsey Vonn has

:03:17. > :03:23.decided not to come. Tina Maze is leading the World Wide standings

:03:23. > :03:28.and she is probably favourite tonight but she was beaten in

:03:28. > :03:32.Munich in the night slalom by Veronika Zuzulova. That will be an

:03:32. > :03:42.interesting battle. And on the men's side? There are two clear

:03:42. > :04:06.

:04:06. > :04:10.favourites. Felix Neureuther won In the first round there were some

:04:10. > :04:16.very tight races. In the women's competition, Tina Maze looked

:04:16. > :04:20.incredibly strong. In the lower half of the draw, Michaela

:04:20. > :04:24.Kirchgasser was looking quick. She will meet Mikaela Shiffrin in the

:04:24. > :04:34.next round. For some it was too much to handle. Brittany Phelan

:04:34. > :04:38.crashed out but brought some freestyle to Moscow. In the men's

:04:38. > :04:47.competition, Marcel Hirscher had a huge shock. He was leading her

:04:47. > :04:51.Norwegian but he barged the gate in the second run. Surely even Marcel

:04:51. > :04:57.Hirscher cannot overturn that deficit! This will be one of the

:04:57. > :05:04.biggest wins of the night so far. But the Norwegian is making a mess

:05:04. > :05:08.of it. Marcel Hirscher has won! That was a great fightback. He then

:05:08. > :05:13.has to take on Jens Byggmark, who is looking strong. It will be an

:05:13. > :05:22.interesting battle. Felix Neureuther third cruise through his

:05:22. > :05:32.foot. 16 of the best have been cut down to eight. This will be fast

:05:32. > :05:34.

:05:34. > :05:41.and frenetic with Matt Chilton on against the best of the Swiss,

:05:41. > :05:47.Wendy Holden. She is up against the best in the world, Tina Maze. She

:05:47. > :05:50.is on an incredible winning streak this season. First round of the

:05:50. > :06:00.quarter-finals. They raised once and then they swap for the second

:06:00. > :06:19.

:06:19. > :06:29.breathtaking race against Tina Maze. 0.83 in front. A great start. Tanja

:06:29. > :06:41.

:06:41. > :06:51.Poutiainen against Veronika green and then it is go. -- three

:06:51. > :07:09.

:07:09. > :07:16.Lena Duerr from Germany. Lena Duerr got caught up in the start gate,

:07:16. > :07:26.getting ahead of the timing mechanism, and she paid the price.

:07:26. > :07:30.

:07:30. > :07:40.This is very tight. I think freedom and -- Frida Hansdotter has just

:07:40. > :07:47.

:07:47. > :07:53.Shiffrin. Mikaela Shiffrin is fighting back. The American tends

:07:53. > :08:00.to do well at this. The juniors, the Europeans, but it is the

:08:00. > :08:10.Austrian striking for the front and she gets it by 51 hundredths of a

:08:10. > :08:27.

:08:27. > :08:37.difference. Wendy Holden S Gates onto the course ahead of Tina Maze.

:08:37. > :08:37.

:08:37. > :08:47.-- Wendy Holdener skates on to the course. She wins! A massive victory

:08:47. > :09:19.

:09:19. > :09:29.for Wendy Holden. She has beaten finish from Tanja Poutiainen but

:09:29. > :09:45.

:09:45. > :09:52.these terms. She has been skiing beautifully this season but this

:09:52. > :10:02.format does not suit her. Super from Lena Duerr, into the semi-

:10:02. > :10:16.

:10:16. > :10:20.Shiffrin quickly out of the gate and closing down that lead.

:10:20. > :10:30.Michaela Kirchgasser fighting back but she is out and Mikaela Shiffrin

:10:30. > :10:36.

:10:36. > :10:41.advances. Mikaela Shiffrin takes a the quarter-finals. What on earth

:10:41. > :10:43.was Tina Maze doing? She looked like she had fallen asleep. Maybe

:10:43. > :10:48.because she cruised through the first round she thought it would be

:10:48. > :10:53.easy in the second but she was wrong. Do you think she

:10:53. > :11:03.underestimated her opponent? really did. Veronika Zuzulova is

:11:03. > :11:17.

:11:17. > :11:22.looking very strong. She has got an on. A straightforward run to the

:11:22. > :11:32.line. He will take forward the maximum penalty time of 0.5 into

:11:32. > :11:45.

:11:45. > :11:55.the second round. Quarter-final that time. He is gaining on David

:11:55. > :12:18.

:12:18. > :12:23.Myhrer was 4th in Munich and Fritz Myhrer but we know how fast Fritz

:12:23. > :12:27.Dopfer is in the middle of the course. Here he goes again. The

:12:27. > :12:37.Germans finding excellent speed. They come of the programs

:12:37. > :12:57.

:12:58. > :13:06.simultaneously. Fritz Dopfer Baptiste Grange. Felix Neureuther

:13:06. > :13:15.will have to play catch-up. Neck- and-neck as they hit the job. Very

:13:15. > :13:25.tight. Down to the wire. Only just in front, Jean-Baptiste Grange and

:13:25. > :13:43.

:13:43. > :13:46.Felix Neureuther can claw that back the gap. He must be hoping for a

:13:46. > :13:53.mistake from Marcel Hirscher. He has already made one but he rarely

:13:53. > :14:03.makes two. Marcel Hirscher cruising to victory and has time to look

:14:03. > :14:14.

:14:14. > :14:19.across at look at Jens Byggmark. night already. He beat Manfred

:14:19. > :14:29.Moelgg after a fight back in are the last 16. Hoping for similar

:14:29. > :14:35.

:14:35. > :14:41.on the gate. David Chodounsky is right in there! Oh, he has missed

:14:41. > :14:51.it by one hundredth of a second! Ivica Kostelic is through by the

:14:51. > :14:51.

:14:51. > :15:42.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 51 seconds

:15:42. > :15:52.Grange and Aksel Lund Svindal -- good start. Be German March and

:15:52. > :15:56.

:15:56. > :16:00.early it in front. Grange has made a quarter of a second.

:16:00. > :16:06.comparison to the women's quarter- finals, the men's went much more to

:16:06. > :16:13.form. After Hirscher had that shock in the first-round, he was very

:16:13. > :16:20.strong. And Ivica Kostelic looking -- Felix Neureuther looking very

:16:20. > :16:25.smooth. I think he will go through. The one thing we can see from the

:16:25. > :16:31.quarter-finals is the semi-finals will be even tighter? I think so.

:16:31. > :16:40.Now ready for the first women's semi final, Wendy Holdener of

:16:40. > :16:44.Switzerland goes against Veronika Velez Zuzulova of Slovakia. She got

:16:44. > :16:49.jammed up and went a bit early but it does not seem to have affected

:16:49. > :16:56.her start. Division was blurred for Veronika Velez Zuzulova as she

:16:56. > :17:06.picked up an extra item of head gear halfway down. Turn for turn,

:17:06. > :17:25.

:17:25. > :17:35.her trials and tribulations on the Leonid you're in the second semi-

:17:35. > :17:48.

:17:48. > :17:58.gear. This is great skiing. Mikaela Shiffrin takes it by six hundredths

:17:58. > :18:10.

:18:10. > :18:20.of a second. The first run to the Velez Zuzulova in their second run.

:18:20. > :18:24.

:18:24. > :18:32.The Slovakian indirect cause has Velez Zuzulova. She qualifies for

:18:32. > :18:42.the final by 14 hundredths of a second. She will ski either against

:18:42. > :18:51.

:18:51. > :18:56.Li Na de were all Mikaela Shiffrin the start with a good fast entrance

:18:56. > :19:04.onto the course for the American. She has stretched her lead already.

:19:04. > :19:14.A brilliant start for Mikaela Shiffrin. It is tight between them.

:19:14. > :19:29.

:19:29. > :19:32.one of if favourites to make it into the final. She had a scare on

:19:32. > :19:40.the first run where she had to ski through the flag but then she came

:19:40. > :19:45.through. I thought Mikaela Shiffrin was a bit inexperienced. She had a

:19:45. > :19:55.wide turn and did not carry the speed. I have got to say that

:19:55. > :19:58.

:19:58. > :20:08.Veronika Velez Zuzulova is the Kostelic will be in the Blue course,

:20:08. > :20:20.

:20:20. > :20:30.Hirscher is going to win the first run by a quarter of the second. A

:20:30. > :20:30.

:20:30. > :21:31.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 51 seconds

:21:31. > :21:41.man who won in Munich was the Kostelic takes his opportunity

:21:41. > :21:46.

:21:46. > :21:56.He did all the hard work. And Hirscher takes his place in the

:21:56. > :21:58.

:21:58. > :22:08.final. The races are ready for the second run of semi-final number two.

:22:08. > :22:20.

:22:20. > :22:29.There is Andre Myhrer and Felix a brilliant start from Felix

:22:29. > :22:38.Neureuther. Brilliance being from the Swede. - a brilliant skiing

:22:38. > :22:42.from the Swede. He is in the final. Not hiding any glee there. Hirscher

:22:43. > :22:48.made a big mistake on the second run and let Ivica Kostelic back in.

:22:48. > :22:53.Ivica Kostelic was leading. He went through a gate and the polls sprang

:22:53. > :22:57.out of his hand. That caused him to lose momentum. He is what we talk

:22:57. > :23:00.about with the women. Ivica Kostelic lost momentum at the

:23:00. > :23:06.bottom. Hirscher was able to save some of the momentum from the top

:23:06. > :23:10.and still get through. Yes, he was looking very fast indeed. Andre

:23:10. > :23:14.Myhrer has learned to start a lot quicker than I have seen before. It

:23:14. > :23:24.should be interesting but my money is still on Hirscher. All right, I

:23:24. > :23:54.

:23:54. > :24:00.will take Andre Myhrer by default. Zuzulova has found her start.

:24:00. > :24:08.Nothing between them. It is tight! One hundredth of a second after the

:24:08. > :24:15.first run in favour of Lena Duerr. She fought her way back after a

:24:15. > :24:25.stunning start from Veronika Velez Zuzulova. They are about to race

:24:25. > :24:37.

:24:37. > :24:41.One hundredth of a second between them. Forget about that margin, it

:24:41. > :24:46.is first-past-the-post it. It has been an explosive start from the

:24:46. > :24:56.German, having the best World Cup event of her career. She is

:24:56. > :25:06.

:25:06. > :25:15.kick-starting victory under floodlights here in the Russian

:25:16. > :25:22.Coming here, did you know you had the form to win in this kind of

:25:22. > :25:31.competition? No, I did not. I did not know how to start. It was the

:25:31. > :25:38.first time I tried it. It was so fun. She has done it again! Coming

:25:39. > :25:43.into the competition I would not have rated her at all. She remained

:25:43. > :25:49.relaxed. We talked earlier about the fact that maybe Mikaela

:25:49. > :25:54.Shiffrin had underestimated Lena Duerr. I think she is very tidy.

:25:55. > :25:59.thinks there and maybe Felix Neureuther gave her some tips about

:25:59. > :26:03.how to ski parallel slalom because the technique is different when you

:26:03. > :26:07.have to duck your body around the gates of compared with normal

:26:07. > :26:17.slalom when you let your body go through. A fantastic victory for

:26:17. > :26:29.

:26:29. > :26:36.leader in the slalom standings. The men's final first run. Andre Myhrer

:26:36. > :26:46.in blue. A great start from Andre Myhrer. He has a slight advantage

:26:46. > :27:11.

:27:11. > :27:15.again. Next to nothing between the Andre Myhrer, we know has mastered

:27:15. > :27:25.the technique at the bottom of the course with this incredibly direct

:27:25. > :27:39.

:27:39. > :27:49.line. They are called to readiness start. On to the steep section here.

:27:49. > :27:49.

:27:49. > :27:57.Nothing between them. Hirscher takes the win by 16 hundredths of a

:27:57. > :28:02.second with a stunning finish. He has dominated the World Cup in all

:28:02. > :28:12.the forms in which he has participated this season. Tonight

:28:12. > :28:15.

:28:15. > :28:20.he has won the parallel slalom in Yes! In it means that much to be

:28:20. > :28:25.right. There is so little to split between his races but Hirscher is

:28:25. > :28:29.consistently winning. What is he doing? It is all about that terrain

:28:29. > :28:33.changed. Just before the job when they come onto the flat, Hirscher

:28:33. > :28:37.makes a solid, aggressive pole plant. It is an old-school

:28:37. > :28:42.technique which you do not often see in racing anymore. It set up

:28:42. > :28:48.his upper body so he is square going into that extra -- final run-

:28:48. > :28:51.in said that is why he is carrying extra speed. Are you happy because

:28:51. > :28:57.Hirscher won or because you predicted it? He is a great skier

:28:57. > :29:02.to watch. I watched him race when he was 14 in a children's race and

:29:02. > :29:06.he was exciting Ben and exciting now.

:29:06. > :29:12.You survived an incredible run in the first-round. Talk us through

:29:12. > :29:17.that? I was lucky that he made a big mistake. I took my chance.

:29:17. > :29:24.did not make any mistakes after that. Used seemed pretty

:29:24. > :29:34.concentrated right way through the night. It was shaking me and then,

:29:34. > :29:41.

:29:41. > :29:46.come on, stay focused and Snowboarding does elicit the events

:29:46. > :29:55.are so well and I did not think that skiing could live up to it. --

:29:55. > :30:01.in a city events. But it has. Slalom is just as much fun to raise

:30:01. > :30:06.as it is to watch and you can see that from the spectators. You can

:30:06. > :30:10.also see who crosses the line first. Are we going to see more events

:30:10. > :30:17.like this into the calendar? think so. It brings the events into

:30:17. > :30:24.the city. It can't compare, can it? No, but when you have someone like

:30:24. > :30:29.Marcel Hirscher here, there will always be some excitement. This

:30:29. > :30:39.week in San Moritz we have the bobsleigh championship. But we had

:30:39. > :30:42.

:30:42. > :30:49.our own race first, of a more Weaving through the tranquil forest

:30:49. > :30:53.near St Moritz is an icon of winter sports. A one-of-a-kind track that

:30:53. > :31:02.rears its head for only a few icy months of the year to deliver a

:31:02. > :31:12.Unforgiving yet fascinating this track holds a place in sliding

:31:12. > :31:30.

:31:30. > :31:33.history that is unrivalled by its So this is it? The famous Olympia

:31:33. > :31:36.bobsleigh track in St Moritz. People have been sliding down on

:31:36. > :31:39.bobsleighs here for over 100 years. This is the birthplace of bobsleigh.

:31:39. > :31:43.The course was constructed in 1903 and every winter since they build

:31:43. > :31:46.the track by hand from snow and ice cut out of the lake at the bottom

:31:46. > :31:50.of the hill. It means it's the only self-refrigerating track in the

:31:50. > :31:53.world and that makes it a very short season. But today is our day

:31:53. > :31:59.and we have enlisted some help to get us through it. Olympic skeleton

:31:59. > :32:03.gold medallist, Amy Williams. have been on this track in the

:32:03. > :32:09.skeleton. Have you ever been in the bobsleigh? I have never been in a

:32:09. > :32:13.bobsleigh but I have been down this track many times before. This is

:32:13. > :32:17.the 2nd quickest track in the world. For me, the horseshoe corner, I

:32:17. > :32:20.have crashed nearly every time I did skeleton. It is a unique corner.

:32:20. > :32:24.I am scared, excited and nervous all at once. I did not expect that.

:32:24. > :32:29.I thought you would be relaxed about this. No, I am scared. It is

:32:29. > :32:31.new for me and I don't know what I am doing. One thing you need to

:32:31. > :32:37.know, he has an excess of testosterone and he is insanely

:32:37. > :32:41.competitive. He will try and beat you. So Graham has that? You've

:32:41. > :32:48.been in a skeleton before, haven't you? Yes. I understand a little bit

:32:48. > :32:52.of ice. And I know the track. are even. Great. The best man will

:32:52. > :32:55.win. I want to do a recce first. The initial idea for the Olympia

:32:55. > :32:59.bob run was conceived by the founding fathers of bobsleigh, the

:32:59. > :33:02.British. Once famed for sliding around the streets of St Moritz,

:33:02. > :33:07.the time came when through fundraising a bespoke track was

:33:07. > :33:11.built above the town. The course took three weeks to build and was

:33:11. > :33:14.officially opened on New Year's Day, 1904. From November until March

:33:14. > :33:20.each year since, this unique track has witnessed and shaped the

:33:20. > :33:25.development of bobsleigh into the exhilarating sport we know today.

:33:25. > :33:28.Check out this old bobsleigh. at the steering wheel on that.

:33:28. > :33:34.don't reckon we will have steering like that. It's like the early days

:33:34. > :33:37.of Formula One. Yes, crazy. health and safety back then. Along

:33:37. > :33:40.with the neighbouring Cresta Run, St Moritz took sliding to the next

:33:40. > :33:43.level with its two custom built tracks. The Olympia track inherited

:33:43. > :33:49.its name after hosting the 1928 and the 48 Winter Olympics, which

:33:49. > :33:52.cemented its reputation as the premier sliding venue of its time.

:33:52. > :33:56.And to this day, the Olympia bob run is still hosting prestigious

:33:56. > :33:59.events. The 2013 World Championships were held here just

:33:59. > :34:05.last week, proving this place still provides an uncompromising test of

:34:05. > :34:08.skill and nerve for the modern-day slider. With the dangers of taking

:34:08. > :34:11.to this track all too apparent, myself and Graham in particular

:34:11. > :34:18.were keen to take a closer look and listen to Amy's advice before our

:34:18. > :34:22.very own individual head to head race. It is a very unique track to

:34:22. > :34:29.slide. Completely different than anything else. Great. Thanks! This

:34:29. > :34:34.is awesome. In a positive way! crashed here a lot and it is unique.

:34:34. > :34:37.And you are really nervous. Great! The horseshoe, I have crashed every

:34:38. > :34:41.single time I have been on this track. Have you picked up injuries

:34:41. > :34:47.here? I have smashed my whole helmet. Been completely dazed and

:34:47. > :34:51.confused the whole way down. It frightens me, this corner. Would

:34:51. > :34:54.you describe it as the crux of the rest of the course? If you get this

:34:54. > :34:59.right you set yourself up for the rest? You have to nail this corner

:34:59. > :35:02.completely and that is where the best people win. You get the speed

:35:02. > :35:06.down, you get so much height and carry the speed with you and you

:35:06. > :35:08.can fly the rest of the course. What kind of speed are you doing?

:35:08. > :35:15.The bobsleigh can get over 140 kilometres per hour. You are

:35:15. > :35:20.shifting it. It is really quick. So what do you reckon close-up? Scary?

:35:20. > :35:25.It is huge. Look up there, there is a dent in the roof. And paint left

:35:25. > :35:35.behind where someone has hit that. It is like driving a motorbike

:35:35. > :35:36.

:35:36. > :35:40.Here we are at the finish. After what he said on the way down here,

:35:40. > :35:44.I am going to be happy to be at this point. Let's aim just to get

:35:44. > :35:47.here. I am in it to win. That's a surprise! After our course walk, it

:35:47. > :35:57.was then time to head back up to the start for an extreme up-close-

:35:57. > :36:01.

:36:02. > :36:05.and-personal look at what we would It is the same experience and the

:36:05. > :36:09.same speed as a normal race. It will be like you have weight on

:36:09. > :36:14.your shoulder. How many Gs are we looking at? At the horseshoe, 4G,

:36:14. > :36:24.4.5G. Four times your body weight, four times your helmet. It is a

:36:24. > :36:51.

:36:51. > :36:56.OK, here we go. It is actually My head was two or three inches

:36:56. > :36:59.from the wall. I was amazed by that. It feels so different because in

:36:59. > :37:02.skeleton the track is massive around you. You are this little pin

:37:02. > :37:07.lying on the sled, whereas the bobsleigh around you takes up that

:37:07. > :37:11.space. Crazy. Experiencing the track firsthand certainly made the

:37:11. > :37:14.reality of our mono bob challenge hit home. With our solo runs fast

:37:14. > :37:22.approaching, it was time for some words of wisdom from Swiss legend

:37:22. > :37:29.Christian Reich. I have done more than 3000 runs here on this track.

:37:29. > :37:36.Since 1985 I started my career. Yes, it is an old track. It is the

:37:36. > :37:40.birthplace for bobsleigh. More than 100 years. It is a good history at

:37:40. > :37:43.this track. Do you still get an adrenaline rush when you get in the

:37:43. > :37:53.bob? You have a little bit of pressure. That is fine, it is good,

:37:53. > :37:55.

:37:55. > :37:58.that is what I like. It makes you feel alive? Yes. You have won a

:37:58. > :38:01.silver medal and we're complete amateurs. What do we need to do?

:38:01. > :38:04.Concentrate but relax. You have a downhill skier, an Olympic gold

:38:04. > :38:10.medallist skeleton slider, and a snowboarder. Who is going to win?

:38:10. > :38:14.Skeleton for sure. With those last words of advice, it was time to

:38:14. > :38:18.prepare for our solo runs. OK, our padding is to protect our shoulders

:38:18. > :38:24.a bit if we are rattling around in the bobsleigh. Definitely not in

:38:24. > :38:30.case we turn over? I don't think we will turn over but I am happy to

:38:30. > :38:35.have this protection. It is pretty cool. Where is Graham? Oh, no!

:38:36. > :38:40.we ready to go? You are taking this seriously. You couldn't help

:38:40. > :38:44.yourself, could you? I need my daily fix of Lycra. Any excuse and

:38:44. > :38:47.he will jump into the Lycra. It was time for the talking to stop and

:38:47. > :38:52.with nervous energy building, we met course chief Roberto for our

:38:52. > :38:59.final instructions. Don't steer in big movements. Just little

:38:59. > :39:04.movements like this. Let the sled go down. He will find his way on

:39:04. > :39:11.his own. OK? The sled knows the way? Reassuring. What kind of speed

:39:11. > :39:21.will we reach? About 115, 120, depending on the ice conditions.

:39:21. > :39:22.

:39:22. > :39:32.That is still quick. Let's go. luck. Here we go. Wish me luck.

:39:32. > :39:44.

:39:44. > :39:50.Nice and loose. This is real. We That is awesome, awesome. You are

:39:50. > :39:53.next. I am scared. I am scared, too. That was so much fun it was

:39:53. > :40:03.ridiculous. Absolutely brilliant. Adrenaline is falling into me like

:40:03. > :40:08.

:40:08. > :40:18.a flash flood. Tiny movements, I can't believe that I am doing

:40:18. > :40:30.

:40:30. > :40:34.Last one. I've just seen two of the boys go down and now I am super

:40:34. > :40:43.nervous. It is my turn next so I'm going to get ready. I told you the

:40:43. > :40:53.Lycra was not going to work. You need a big, heavy coat. Here goes.

:40:53. > :41:10.

:41:10. > :41:13.Can I beat an Olympic gold Beaten by over 1.5 seconds. To be

:41:13. > :41:18.fair to Amy, they measure the total weight, the weight of the athlete

:41:18. > :41:22.plus the weight of the bob. The bob weighs the same, so the fact we

:41:22. > :41:32.have beaten her by over a second is down to the fact that we ate too

:41:32. > :41:34.

:41:34. > :41:38.Well done, well done. It was way quicker than I thought it would be.

:41:38. > :41:43.I started steering and I hit a few walls and I thought I would let the

:41:43. > :41:47.sled go. You were slower than me on the top and then you picked up

:41:47. > :41:51.speed as the run went on. Either you have a rocket sled or you drove

:41:51. > :41:55.better than me. Having the opportunity to make the mono bob

:41:55. > :42:05.run down this legendary course was both a real rush and a huge honour.

:42:05. > :42:06.

:42:06. > :42:09.An experience like no other on a Taking on the Olympic run made us

:42:09. > :42:13.realise why this has become one of the most famous snow sport

:42:13. > :42:23.destinations in the world. And in our own small way, we made our own

:42:23. > :42:26.

:42:26. > :42:30.piece of Ski Sunday bobsleigh I know that I beat an Olympic gold

:42:30. > :42:32.medallist but to be honest it means more to beat you! Lots of things

:42:32. > :42:38.affect the performance of a bobsleigh, the weight of the driver,

:42:38. > :42:43.but also the bobsleigh. Aerodynamics and stuff. It is just

:42:43. > :42:50.noise! And bad excuses! Now a much more important victory

:42:50. > :42:54.to tell you about. On that same track, Shelley Rudman has won

:42:54. > :42:58.Britain's first skeleton gold, a massive congratulations to her of

:42:58. > :43:03.an Lizzy Yarnold who came 4th. After her Olympic silver in Turin

:43:03. > :43:07.and Amy's gold medal in Vancouver, the British team are in great form

:43:07. > :43:12.ahead of Sochi. It went really well yesterday and so I was more relaxed

:43:12. > :43:17.coming into today but I did not expect to win. Things went well and

:43:17. > :43:22.I am happy. That is it from a very Baltic night in Moscow so that

:43:22. > :43:27.means it is time to head back to the mountains. Yes, we are heading

:43:27. > :43:33.West, swapping vodka for schnapps, as we had to Austria for the Alpine

:43:33. > :43:37.skiing World Championship, the biggest event outside the Olympic

:43:37. > :43:44.Games. Erik Guay of Canada is the reigning champion in the men's

:43:44. > :43:49.downhill and he will be fighting hard to retain that title. We will
