:00:00. > :00:13.On BBC Two Wales, I'm very pleased to say that we can bring you back to

:00:14. > :00:16.the Welsh Open snooker. I did promise you last time there would be

:00:17. > :00:21.no more interruptions. Hopefully that was the last one. Apologies for

:00:22. > :00:26.another loss of transmission here in Cardiff. Let's hope that is the end

:00:27. > :00:38.of it. We can rejoin our commentary team of Dominic and Terry.

:00:39. > :00:48.That was a good red from Joe to the right centre to keep the break

:00:49. > :00:50.going. I am sure for a moment Joe thought he might have missed that

:00:51. > :01:44.black. He's not ideally on this red. This black and one more red the

:01:45. > :01:50.quiet for Joe Perry to get the scoreboard rolling. He can level

:01:51. > :01:59.this matchup at 1-1. Good break, this, by Joe.

:02:00. > :02:52.APPLAUSE Possibility for Joe of making 143,

:02:53. > :03:44.if he takes blacks with the reigning reds. -- remaining reds.

:03:45. > :03:44.if he takes blacks with the reigning Ronnie O'Sullivan made an excellent

:03:45. > :05:28.clearance Well played, Joe Perry. Wonderful

:05:29. > :05:34.total clearance of 139 sending a clear message to Ronnie O'Sullivan.

:05:35. > :05:41.He intends to make a match of this. Levels the frames up at 1-1. So,

:05:42. > :05:47.Terry, what do you think of that response from Joe Perry? He looked

:05:48. > :05:51.very confident in that break. No reason why he shouldn't be. He has

:05:52. > :05:57.been playing very well. He is up to Number Ten in the world at the

:05:58. > :06:03.moment. He has been as high as nine. For many years, he has been making

:06:04. > :06:08.the bottom rungs of the 16, from that sort of Mark from 13-16, but he

:06:09. > :06:15.has pushed forward now, he has won a few events, and now, he practices

:06:16. > :06:20.with Neil Robertson who is in the final tomorrow. I dare say that he

:06:21. > :06:28.has learned a lot from Neil, in many ways. Neil does not arrive in the

:06:29. > :06:33.club till late afternoon, he tends to practice a lot on his own, and

:06:34. > :06:37.then goes home. Maybe he has learnt to take things more seriously. He is

:06:38. > :06:48.a great player, Joe Perry. He will not afraid of Ronnie O'Sullivan. It

:06:49. > :06:49.is set up nicely, now, as Ronnie breaks in frame three, at one frame

:06:50. > :07:21.all. He has got a pot on here. Just a

:07:22. > :07:31.thin cut back down to the baulk area. That has gone wrong. He may

:07:32. > :07:40.have thought that Redwood cannon into one of the other reds. He may

:07:41. > :07:46.not have played that shot otherwise. It is a bit of a distance, 12 foot

:07:47. > :08:00.between these two balls, so not an easy shot for Ronnie O'Sullivan. He

:08:01. > :08:02.is not happy with that. He thought he was hitting the pack on the way

:08:03. > :09:04.back. Foul and a miss. So, a miss given,

:09:05. > :09:21.this gives Joe another opportunity, never easy. He can flick the red on

:09:22. > :09:25.the way back up to the baulk area. Joe Perry has got to hit the cushion

:09:26. > :09:33.at least where he did last time, he seems happy enough. I would not say

:09:34. > :09:41.he is that happy but the referee has put it back in the right place. That

:09:42. > :09:44.is the problem. A bit too thick and you generally leave your opponent a

:09:45. > :10:07.chance and this is quite a good one. Ronnie O'Sullivan sat out most of

:10:08. > :10:14.the previous frame. Maybe that will spur him on a bit. So far, he has

:10:15. > :10:18.not seemed to be that interested, sitting in the chair. I dare say he

:10:19. > :11:41.is. Ronnie landed pretty well on that

:11:42. > :11:47.red and was able to develop a few others in the course of potting that

:11:48. > :11:48.one. It can be missed, this black, but I don't fancy him missing it, I

:11:49. > :12:13.suppose. Dead centre. This, for me, is where Ronnie has

:12:14. > :12:19.impressed me most this week, scoring so heavily, so persistently, in his

:12:20. > :12:25.matches, winning so many frames in one visit from opportunities like

:12:26. > :12:30.this. He has not looked in trouble in any match. Possibly apart from

:12:31. > :12:35.the first when his mind was wondering slightly. He should have

:12:36. > :13:00.gone 2-1 down in the best-of-7. The most impressive performance from

:13:01. > :13:09.Ronnie O'Sullivan was in the second or third round, he made three

:13:10. > :13:17.centuries and 90 break, 4-0, by the time his opponent had put his ice in

:13:18. > :13:44.his drinks. Yes, 38 minutes, that match.

:13:45. > :13:59.He did not quite get that right. Down to the red. But he is safe in

:14:00. > :14:08.this frame, barring smokers. -- snookers. It would be nice to have

:14:09. > :14:15.another century. I don't think he can get one from there, he is

:14:16. > :14:27.shaking his head. He's disappointed. He will be disappointed if he

:14:28. > :14:35.doesn't clinch this century. He has gutted! What a shot that was -- he

:14:36. > :14:41.has got it. I did not see that from here. I could see he was looking at

:14:42. > :14:45.it, but the chances of that, that is something really special, to

:14:46. > :14:55.actually make the plants like that, that is ridiculous. -- plant. The

:14:56. > :15:14.crowd love it. Shots like that. I did, anyway. LAUGHTER

:15:15. > :15:25.I think he can get through to the red after this green. Hopefully it

:15:26. > :15:39.will be straightforward. He will get the century.

:15:40. > :15:52.This will be his eighth century so far in the Welsh Open.

:15:53. > :16:00.What a wonderful exhibition of snooker. It has been a great advert

:16:01. > :16:11.for our sport, the Welsh Open, some tremendous stuff. Yes, Terry, 146

:16:12. > :16:25.and a 147, I don't think I've ever seen that before in a tournament.

:16:26. > :16:36.Exhibition stuff, very enjoyable. Well done, Ronnie O'Sullivan.

:16:37. > :16:43.Centuries in the second and third frame, but that takes Ronnie in

:16:44. > :16:49.front. He leads to-1. STUDIO: Another big break. We are back in

:16:50. > :16:57.working order, and so is Ronnie, you lost the first frame, but he

:16:58. > :17:02.recovers. -- he lost. Exley lost the second one, rather than losing the

:17:03. > :17:06.first, but I'm happy that Joe Perry stood up to him -- he actually lost.

:17:07. > :17:11.Ronnie replied with a fabulous break. The standard, as they have

:17:12. > :17:15.said in commentary, what a great standard, and I don't think I've

:17:16. > :17:21.seen better in a tournament, the barrage of high breaks has been

:17:22. > :17:24.remarkable. Talking about the exhibition snooker from Ronnie, a

:17:25. > :17:29.great example about this in this frame. He is trying to make a

:17:30. > :17:34.century break to please the crowd. That is the plant, you could try

:17:35. > :17:37.that one in ten and you would have got it once, that is how good that

:17:38. > :17:42.was, and I'm so pasty went on to make a century from that position.

:17:43. > :17:48.-- so pleased. Joe Perry has started well. He should have won the first

:17:49. > :17:52.frame, he should be 2-1 in front, but the fact there was a break,

:17:53. > :17:55.maybe Joe was frustrated, he should have won the first frame, but he

:17:56. > :18:00.came back and made a magnificent century. Joe has settled well, they

:18:01. > :18:06.have both settled well, and I expect an excellent game. We will see how

:18:07. > :18:10.Joe Perry response to going to-1 down. They are back at the table. --

:18:11. > :18:20.responds to going to-1 down. COMMENTATOR: This is a very

:18:21. > :18:35.important frame before the mid-session interval.

:18:36. > :18:45.Fantastic from Ronnie. He really is playing well again. In this

:18:46. > :18:49.semifinal match. And is waiting for him to have a bad time session, a

:18:50. > :18:58.time when he is struggling, but it is not happening yet. -- and I'm

:18:59. > :19:02.waiting. Very deflating, when you are not doing very much wrong

:19:03. > :19:07.yourself and stop finally, mistake from Ronnie. I'm sure Joe was not

:19:08. > :19:21.expecting to be back at the table so quick.

:19:22. > :19:32.That was unexpected from O'Sullivan. And it wasn't one which wobbled in

:19:33. > :19:34.the pocket. Did not look happy in his way back to the chair and I

:19:35. > :20:01.don't blame him. O'Sullivan is a bit different from

:20:02. > :20:04.us in the commentary, we think how easy it is for him, but it is not

:20:05. > :20:22.like that for him. If he has got the red at the back of

:20:23. > :20:41.the pack, he is OK. He has got to be careful.

:20:42. > :20:53.Very early, yet, but we could have three centuries in succession, this

:20:54. > :20:56.is a good chance for Joe. That is one of the problems with Ronnie

:20:57. > :21:03.O'Sullivan. Stephen Hendry was very similar. When they miss, there are

:21:04. > :21:10.always balls available, because they opened the pack so quickly. Yes,

:21:11. > :21:15.absolutely. Shaun Murphy reminds me of a player like that, as well, when

:21:16. > :21:22.he gets in, he develops the balls very soon and if he misses something

:21:23. > :21:26.easy his opponent comes to the table with an opportunity, most of the

:21:27. > :21:34.time. Just not straight enough here to hold for the black. He is the

:21:35. > :21:37.wrong side of this red. He went up for the blue, but he is a few

:21:38. > :23:31.wrong side of this red. He went up to level things off before the

:23:32. > :23:43.mid-session cup of tea, we have a 50 minute interval after this frame. --

:23:44. > :23:45.15 minute. Oh! Is he and a red? I think Joe thinks the bottom red will

:23:46. > :24:22.go. -- on a red? APPLAUSE This is good stuff from both of

:24:23. > :24:35.them. The first semifinal was outstanding. Neil Robertson against

:24:36. > :24:41.Mark Allen. We have had good crowds all week and they are getting plenty

:24:42. > :24:42.of entertainment. Snooker is very popular in Wales and always has

:24:43. > :25:02.been. That red was frame ball. Looks

:25:03. > :25:11.likely now that we will go into the mid-session interval at 2-2. This is

:25:12. > :25:16.great stuff from Joe Perry, he is not worried about who he is playing

:25:17. > :25:21.or how he plays, he is there to do his own thing, that is the way to

:25:22. > :25:29.play against not just Batman, Ronnie O'Sullivan. -- against not just that

:25:30. > :25:39.man. He's a great player himself, Joe Perry, as we have seen here. He

:25:40. > :25:42.already made the fantastic 139, levelling the match at 1-1, and he

:25:43. > :26:30.can make another century here to level at 2-2.

:26:31. > :26:45.What a shame. No century break, but he draws level at 2-2.

:26:46. > :26:51.STUDIO: The players are inseparable, Ronnie O'Sullivan not having things

:26:52. > :26:57.all his own way, in the first session. Willie Thorne, Joe spoke

:26:58. > :27:02.about having the belief he could win and he has backed up that belief

:27:03. > :27:07.with the performance. He has silenced the crowd, they are a bit

:27:08. > :27:10.apprehensive. I was listening to them, and they were applauding great

:27:11. > :27:14.shots from Joe, but they are stunned. This is what you have got

:27:15. > :27:18.to do with Ronnie O'Sullivan, to have any chance of beating India

:27:19. > :27:23.have got to stand up to him, and if he makes a big break, you have got

:27:24. > :27:29.to do the same -- to have any chance of beating him you have got to stand

:27:30. > :27:34.up to him. Shaun Murphy said on Twitter, that we are seeing the bar

:27:35. > :27:39.being raised by Ronnie O'Sullivan and it is up to the rest of them to

:27:40. > :27:44.catch up. Yes, the same thing happened in darts with Phil Taylor.

:27:45. > :27:48.If you see a player beating you all the time, you will get better, and

:27:49. > :27:55.that is what they have got to do in snooker. Ronnie at his best is

:27:56. > :28:00.almost unbeatable, almost. There is a long way to go in this match, the

:28:01. > :28:03.best of 11, and whether he can beat Ronnie in this format, I'm not sure,

:28:04. > :28:08.but he is doing a good effort so far. The second session is coming up

:28:09. > :28:17.very shortly, but the winner of the match will play the 2007 champion

:28:18. > :28:22.Neil Robertson, who beat Mark Allen 6-4 in the first semifinal. We will

:28:23. > :28:28.see a key moment in the third frame, in fact. Mark Allen was leading 2-0

:28:29. > :28:38.and had a good chance to make it 3-0, but a foul with a nudge by his

:28:39. > :28:42.cue resulted in the initiative being handed to Robertson. He consulted

:28:43. > :28:50.the television replay to make sure that his cue had nudged the red. In

:28:51. > :28:55.any case, that gave Robertson the initiative in that match. We can go

:28:56. > :29:02.to the 10th frame, with Robertson at the table with a break of 34.

:29:03. > :29:10.COMMENTATOR: That pocket is so tough, I've seen a few not go in and

:29:11. > :29:23.we have seen a couple from the far jaw not going. Opportunity for Mark

:29:24. > :29:24.Allen. He cleverly moved the red of the black spot, knowing it would

:29:25. > :29:50.have been tied up. That was never going to go in at

:29:51. > :29:54.that piece terrain pace -- never going to go in at that pace. It is

:29:55. > :29:59.interesting to see the contrasting styles. Mark Allen can roll this in

:30:00. > :30:03.for the black into that same pocket, and at the same time develop the

:30:04. > :30:47.pink and the reds. That is what he's thinking.

:30:48. > :30:55.So much margin of error, there. He could have gone another foot higher.

:30:56. > :31:02.He has got to cut out those positional shots. He is right back

:31:03. > :31:20.into the frame. Could we possibly get a decider?

:31:21. > :31:26.What about the last red nearest the middle pocket? He can move it now.

:31:27. > :31:36.Move the red and if he doesn't get it on nicely he has the long pot

:31:37. > :31:44.into the corner pocket. Half ball. Yes, well done. We have a chance of

:31:45. > :31:50.getting all square now. What a great match this has been, breaks in every

:31:51. > :31:54.frame. You get the impression it has been a long struggle out there, I

:31:55. > :32:01.suppose it has full periods, but there have been many breaks in this

:32:02. > :32:17.match, as well, too many to mention. 77, 55, 56, 49, 50s, 70s, 124 from

:32:18. > :32:25.Mark Ellen Delay -- Mark Allen a couple of frames ago. He's

:32:26. > :32:35.left-handed, so cueing is no problem. The frame could hinge on

:32:36. > :32:48.this shot. Absolutely, this is for 4-5. That is how tight these pockets

:32:49. > :32:53.are. -- 5-5. APPLAUSE The only way that you could have

:32:54. > :33:01.played it different, is rolled it rather than play it at pace. Neil

:33:02. > :33:06.Robertson would have thought a few moments ago, when Mark Allen was

:33:07. > :33:12.playing this shot. Could he have rolled it in? The way he played it,

:33:13. > :33:18.it gave every chance to nibble away from the pocket and go safe, but a

:33:19. > :33:28.more positive shot, the star shot, rather than the role through. --

:33:29. > :33:39.stun shot rather than the roll through.

:33:40. > :33:59.Just travel to far, kneel. -- travelled to far, Neil Robertson.

:34:00. > :34:03.This could go wrong. I'm looking at this from Mark Allen's point of

:34:04. > :34:09.view. He could screw this across the ground. Well, I think that man in

:34:10. > :34:14.your picture feels he has indeed played his last shot in this year 's

:34:15. > :34:20.Welsh Open. It has been a great match. Mark Allen started the

:34:21. > :34:29.stronger of the two, very unlucky to not go 3-0 ahead. But a wonderful

:34:30. > :34:35.performance from Neil Robertson. It was 2-2 going into the mid-session

:34:36. > :34:40.interval. It has been a wonderful match, both players have made big

:34:41. > :34:45.breaks, but Neil Robertson finds himself in tomorrow's final. He

:34:46. > :34:54.defeats is Northern Irish opponent Mark Allen 6-4. I was singing and

:34:55. > :34:58.dancing at the interval, at 2-2, it should never have been 2-2, I was

:34:59. > :35:03.not playing very well and I was missing safety shots, and Mark

:35:04. > :35:07.looked like he was going to go 3-0 in front until he fouled on the red

:35:08. > :35:13.and that gave me time to get back on the table. I made a tremendous

:35:14. > :35:19.clearance to make it 2-1 and then get it back to 2-2. The turning

:35:20. > :35:23.point is when I touched the red in the third frame, and I was not

:35:24. > :35:29.arguing with the referee in any way. But I said I don't feel as though I

:35:30. > :35:37.touched it, can you check? It was a pivotal point. I said that I did not

:35:38. > :35:42.think I definitely didn't touch it, but I did not feel it, so could we

:35:43. > :35:45.have confirmation? As soon as I saw on the replay I had touched it, I

:35:46. > :35:48.accepted the decision and I moved on, but at the time I did not feel

:35:49. > :35:54.as though I had and I had to question it. Three scoring visit and

:35:55. > :35:58.I was 5-2 in front, but he responded very well and I knew he would, he

:35:59. > :36:02.opened up his game and when he got in he was scoring very heavily. I

:36:03. > :36:08.had to be patient, waiting to my chance. Robertson, the first time he

:36:09. > :36:13.has made the final since he won the trophy nine years ago. People had

:36:14. > :36:20.their eyes on the Ronnie O'Sullivan Joe Perry match, and Ronnie is a

:36:21. > :36:23.practising in the break, by the way. But that game earlier, that was an

:36:24. > :36:34.enthralling game. It was a pleasure to commentate on.

:36:35. > :36:41.Robertson was singing and dancing as he used the term, at the interval.

:36:42. > :36:45.OK, the foul shot made all the difference in the world for Mark

:36:46. > :36:49.Allen not to take the 3-0 lead. On reflection, Mark Allen will be

:36:50. > :36:54.kicking himself. But Robertson showed so much grit and a

:36:55. > :37:02.termination. He hardly missed a ball. Some players are intimidated

:37:03. > :37:07.by this player, Ronnie O'Sullivan. Neil Robertson would be? I don't

:37:08. > :37:12.think so. He knows that if Ronnie is at his best he's going be almost

:37:13. > :37:17.impossible to beat. He has got to stand up to him as Joe Perry is

:37:18. > :37:22.doing at the moment. We will be back with a second session shortly. If

:37:23. > :37:33.you're a fan of snooker, you may well have seen the BBC drama, Rack

:37:34. > :37:36.Pack, about the golden era from the 80s, Alex Higgins, Steve Davis,

:37:37. > :37:44.Willie Thorne is in it as well. We went behind-the-scenes for the

:37:45. > :37:46.filming of it. I am an entertainer. Please welcomed Steven Davis. I am

:37:47. > :38:01.going to make you rich. You have got to tell the story of of

:38:02. > :38:05.how snooker when from the back rooms of the small clubs to become this

:38:06. > :38:10.national sporting event. It is the story of the characters and people

:38:11. > :38:13.behind that, the burgeoning management like Barry Hearn, who

:38:14. > :38:19.made it very professional and organised and commercialised, then

:38:20. > :38:22.the kind of raw natural talent of people like Alex Higgins and Jimmy

:38:23. > :38:40.White, who were these great folk heroes of their day. Excuse me? I

:38:41. > :38:43.was wondering if you might provide me some information about the tables

:38:44. > :38:55.and facilities in this establishment. You know, what the

:38:56. > :39:00.buckets are like and the slate. Do you need me to call your mum? No

:39:01. > :39:09.matter how many times you look at it, he transformed the game with

:39:10. > :39:23.Barry Hearn. His shadow hangs over that whole era. I'm sorry, but I

:39:24. > :39:29.cannot keep my eyes open. Let's make this interesting. If you say so,

:39:30. > :39:35.Alex. They became the opposing forces, if you like, of the story. I

:39:36. > :39:39.have waited a long time to meet a man like you, Davis. I bet that

:39:40. > :39:44.something you don't hear very often. I think snooker is going to be big,

:39:45. > :39:50.properly big, bigger even than wrestling. I am being serious. I

:39:51. > :39:56.want us to go into partnership together. It was interesting to get

:39:57. > :40:02.into the world of snooker in its golden age, how sexy it was and how

:40:03. > :40:07.cool it was. It is definitely very unique on its own and probably could

:40:08. > :40:08.only have happened at that time. It shows you how snooker-mad the world

:40:09. > :42:06.was. camera above the table in any match,

:42:07. > :42:08.and this film totally takes you down to the level of the players. It is

:42:09. > :42:22.all a bit rock and roll. The script is funny, and the way it

:42:23. > :42:34.is brought together by the actors brings a lot of humour to it. Alex,

:42:35. > :42:46.you are four hours late. They are baying for blood in there. It is

:42:47. > :43:04.also dark as well. And that is necessary. Me and you James, we are

:43:05. > :43:09.the only two that they all loved. It is tragedy and comedy, and there is

:43:10. > :43:18.a lot of tragedy, it is emotional and there are heart-warming scenes

:43:19. > :43:29.as well. I love you, baby. From the first moment I held you in my arms.

:43:30. > :43:37.Your daddy is playing in the final tomorrow. It is going to change

:43:38. > :43:43.everything. I hope that it is a timeless story. The drama is there.

:43:44. > :43:47.Everybody can appreciate that. And I hope that viewers of the modern game

:43:48. > :43:59.might go, there was a time when perhaps the game had a few more

:44:00. > :44:04.characters. THEY SING "SNOOKER LOOPY". We know that the way that

:44:05. > :44:11.people consume drama is changing. And hopefully this will be a project

:44:12. > :44:16.that reaches out to a lot more people and creates opportunities in

:44:17. > :44:20.the future. We want to roll it out on iPlayer, it has got such a

:44:21. > :44:25.following from that era, there's a lot of love for snooker. Tonally, it

:44:26. > :44:29.is quite strong. There's a lot of emotional moments and wild

:44:30. > :44:35.behaviour. It is right that people would come to find it on iPlayer,

:44:36. > :44:45.and then hopefully, further down the line, it would go on the telly. I

:44:46. > :44:52.don't think snooker has ever looked so rock 'n' roll. What do you think

:44:53. > :44:57.of it? Is it accurate? Poetic licence? There was lots of players

:44:58. > :45:01.in the players room afterwards. The characters were brilliant. The guy

:45:02. > :45:09.that played me looked more like a Mexican bandit. And I thought he was

:45:10. > :45:17.Steven Davis' twin! You have not changed a bit. You mean with the

:45:18. > :45:21.moustache? It is time to go back, most, for the second session of our

:45:22. > :45:28.semifinal at the Motorpoint Arena on the Saturday evening. We have just

:45:29. > :45:33.seen Ronnie and their practice room. Normally, it is opponent comes out

:45:34. > :45:42.here, but this time it was Ronnie. He will have felt that he was not

:45:43. > :45:46.cueing quite so well. But he has had a break of 124, so you would think

:45:47. > :45:53.he was playing well, but he has spent ten minutes in the practice

:45:54. > :45:59.room. It is the best of 11. Joe Perry has to win two of the next

:46:00. > :46:02.three to put Ronnie under pressure. Let's get back to the commentary

:46:03. > :46:07.team of Dominic and Terry, it is 2-2.

:46:08. > :46:13.It has been a very interesting match. With the high-scoring and the

:46:14. > :46:23.disruptions. Different, slightly different. I am sure that the Crown

:46:24. > :46:36.has enjoyed it all. -- the crowd. It is a big crowd. They were all

:46:37. > :46:42.standing and looking at the table. I don't know what is there that they

:46:43. > :46:45.do not see from their seats. Now, it was not that bad until the red was

:46:46. > :46:56.knocked over to that left-hand corner. Let's see if his practice

:46:57. > :47:00.upstairs has helped him here. It is not always the case that players go

:47:01. > :47:05.up and practice in the practice room in the interval, because they are

:47:06. > :47:11.not playing well. It is just because they want to fill some Simon,

:47:12. > :47:12.really. REFEREE: Foul, Ronnie O'Sullivan,

:47:13. > :47:28.four. -- want to fill some time in. Isn't there a rule that you cannot

:47:29. > :47:34.pick up the ball and wipe it 's that the referee has got to do it? You're

:47:35. > :47:41.not allowed to clean it with your own cloth or anything like that.

:47:42. > :47:46.Some players were going out into the arena and would have the cloth with

:47:47. > :47:54.a certain brand of spray polish. I will not name names. It was thought

:47:55. > :47:57.that they were polishing the balls with that particular polish because

:47:58. > :48:02.that is what they did on the practice table and it suited them.

:48:03. > :48:10.Well, there is nothing wrong in that! Who was that, Dominic? You

:48:11. > :48:12.have given us a clue and you have just left us hanging. I will tell

:48:13. > :48:38.you later! A chance for Ronnie to nudge one of

:48:39. > :49:03.the reds into a pottable position. It has worked out quite well.

:49:04. > :49:16.Nicely into the gap for the black. With that job back spin and science.

:49:17. > :49:36.-- with a touch of back spin and side.

:49:37. > :49:52.He's having a look at this shot into the right-hand corner.

:49:53. > :49:59.That was not a good contact. The white balance a bit, but he's OK on

:50:00. > :50:29.this red, I think. He had a quicker response of the top

:50:30. > :50:35.cushion, Ronnie. Just a tiny bit short on this red. Into the pack

:50:36. > :50:43.again, maintains position on the black. Quite a few more reds out

:50:44. > :50:47.now. He wanted to be a little bit lower, it is more of a cutback than

:50:48. > :52:07.he intended it to be. Dominic and myself do not want to

:52:08. > :52:12.say anything. We just feel like spectators when Ronnie gets in. It

:52:13. > :52:23.is special. But you have got to say something.

:52:24. > :52:44.The frame clenched in one visit. -- clinched. Look at that. Five reds

:52:45. > :52:55.are available. And without that much pace, as well.

:52:56. > :53:03.In the last four frames we have seen breaks of 139 from Joe, 124 from

:53:04. > :53:05.Ronnie, 92 from Joe Perry, and now this 86 and counting from Ronnie. It

:53:06. > :53:34.does not get any better. APPLAUSE

:53:35. > :53:40.The ninth century for Ronnie O'Sullivan in the Welsh Open this

:53:41. > :53:46.year. The 70th of the tournament. A very special one, Ronnie misses that

:53:47. > :53:48.red, but it doesn't really make any difference. He is back in the lead,

:53:49. > :55:03.3-2 in front. Joe Perry breaks off frame six.

:55:04. > :55:15.Ronnie is looking very dangerous again. They have swapped frames,

:55:16. > :55:23.really, in this match so far. No player able to build a 2- frame

:55:24. > :55:33.lead. Ronnie won the first frame and they have swapped frames ever since.

:55:34. > :55:38.He has not left the easier long red from that break of, Joe. No attempt

:55:39. > :57:20.at the pot from Ronnie there, I don't think.

:57:21. > :57:35.He has left the red on to the middle. Ronnie didn't catch that

:57:36. > :57:40.right. Joe Perry getting on the black. Even if he had missed it, he

:57:41. > :58:13.would not have left anything easy on.

:58:14. > :58:23.Would hope to bring a couple more reds into pottable positions, but

:58:24. > :58:27.nothing really seemed to dislodge itself from the cluster. Just one

:58:28. > :00:41.loose red now, the one to the right of the pack.

:00:42. > :01:30.Joe just asking the referee, Marcel Eckardt, to clean the cue ball. He

:01:31. > :01:44.needs a good contact to go into this pack of reds. Muscle Hecate now

:01:45. > :01:48.lives in Burlington near Potsdamerplatz. That's what I used

:01:49. > :02:18.to live a few years ago. -- lives in Berlin, now. -- Marcel Eckardt.

:02:19. > :02:30.The reds split, but now Joe is looking down. I am not sure if this

:02:31. > :02:39.red passes the black. Looks like end break. -- end of break. He could

:02:40. > :02:44.drop it in-off the far knuckle, but there would be no point in doing

:02:45. > :02:54.that, because he would not be on the black, then. He deserved better. He

:02:55. > :03:08.hit the cue ball cleanly and caught the reds nicely.

:03:09. > :03:20.How unlucky for Joe. He could not have asked for a better split of the

:03:21. > :03:28.reds. And to not be on one, that could make a difference over the

:03:29. > :03:36.course of this frame. This is nothing, really, considering the

:03:37. > :03:41.position of the reds. Ronnie using the jaws of the pocket not

:03:42. > :03:46.necessarily to pot the Red Button make sure that it remains down that

:03:47. > :04:15.ends of the table, and screw the cue ball back to baulk.

:04:16. > :04:26.Maybe a shot and nothing here for Ronnie, the red to the left corner.

:04:27. > :04:33.He just needs to watch the bump. He caught it nice and thick.

:04:34. > :06:07.The pink has not opened up for O'Sullivan. Just the blue and the

:06:08. > :06:19.baulk colours available. He has gone a bit too far for the blue, but he

:06:20. > :06:25.might still play it. He never misses a chance.

:06:26. > :06:43.High value colours are generally in play when he is making a break. It

:06:44. > :06:46.is quite a thin cut. Putting some spin, bringing the pink interplay.

:06:47. > :07:13.-- into play. These reds could easily have been

:07:14. > :07:27.Joe Perry's. He had a good opportunity. Still plenty of work to

:07:28. > :07:34.do, O'Sullivan. He is still behind in the frame with two reds tied up

:07:35. > :08:05.with the black, maybe three of them, in fact.

:08:06. > :08:13.We might see a left-handed shot, to bring something interplay with these

:08:14. > :08:21.three reds and a black. -- into play. APPLAUSE

:08:22. > :08:29.Very nice. It did not come out perfect, though. He is only 11 in

:08:30. > :08:37.front. He needs to make this one. Very nice. Did not play for the

:08:38. > :08:39.black, it needed too much pace, and he could have stopped the red going

:08:40. > :09:18.into the corner. Once again, Ronnie showing his

:09:19. > :09:29.ability to play with either hand. To have that degree of ambidextrous to

:09:30. > :09:30.-- ambidextrous ability is incredible, as if he's not good

:09:31. > :09:47.enough already. He just stunned the cue ball

:09:48. > :10:00.slightly too much, easy to do when you have the extension on. Just red,

:10:01. > :10:02.colour, red, needed for a 4-2 lead which will be the first time either

:10:03. > :10:28.player has had a lead by two frames. The Severus audience we have

:10:29. > :10:38.tonight, giving Ronnie plenty of support -- the the

:10:39. > :10:46.looks like another 90 plus break coming up. Can't quite make the

:10:47. > :10:54.century. 94, if he goes on to make the clearance. What an exhibition of

:10:55. > :10:59.break-building this is, from both players, it has to be said. Joe

:11:00. > :11:11.Perry is certainly playing his part in this match, breaks of 139 and 92,

:11:12. > :11:17.to go with 120 -- 124 and 91 from O'Sullivan, and this effort here. It

:11:18. > :11:22.has been a pleasure to watch and commentate on this match. Ronnie

:11:23. > :11:28.O'Sullivan, with this black comedy clears the table with 94, and for

:11:29. > :11:37.the first time he has a two frame lead over Joe Perry -- with this

:11:38. > :11:40.black, he clears the table. STUDIO: Daylight between the players, as

:11:41. > :11:45.Ronnie heads off for a break, the kind of clearance that we have been

:11:46. > :11:48.seeing from him all week. Joe Perry is unlucky with the safety, it

:11:49. > :11:52.caught the jaws of the middle pocket and brought the white into open

:11:53. > :12:00.play, and in fairness that rate was better than Ronnie -- break. But he

:12:01. > :12:05.ended up clearing the table, he in supreme form, it will be very tough

:12:06. > :12:10.now with the two frame deficit for Joe to get back into the match. Joe

:12:11. > :12:15.Perry is being made to wait, while Ronnie goes off for a break. That

:12:16. > :12:23.belief he said he had at the start of the match, it will ebb away. He

:12:24. > :12:26.has made 100 and 90, so he knows he can compete, but he has got to

:12:27. > :12:30.compete in the safety, and he caught the jaws of the middle pocket when

:12:31. > :12:34.he played safety, otherwise he could have got 90 break. Joe has got to

:12:35. > :12:40.compete in old apartments and at the moment he not competing in the

:12:41. > :12:43.safety Department. When we talk about players raising the bar and

:12:44. > :12:48.trying to match the standards of Ronnie right now, what are they

:12:49. > :12:51.alluding to? It is not as though other players are not winning

:12:52. > :12:57.tournaments, but are they trying to match the style? It is the way that

:12:58. > :13:02.he plays, the way that he goes into tournaments, thinking that he will

:13:03. > :13:05.play open snooker. When players play in tournaments, they become very

:13:06. > :13:09.serious and they get the ball cleared every kick, but they should

:13:10. > :13:13.take a leaf out of his book, he never gets the ball clean, he just

:13:14. > :13:18.keeps his momentum going. Sometimes when you have it cleaned it can take

:13:19. > :13:22.you out of that momentum. I think Ronnie has set the bar and they are

:13:23. > :13:30.trying to get back to it. It is not play in every single tournament,

:13:31. > :13:32.does it? ! We can get back to the action, with Ronnie O'Sullivan

:13:33. > :13:37.having another opportunity to get to another ranking event final.

:13:38. > :13:48.COMMENTATOR: I don't think Joe Perry will be throwing in the towel, and I

:13:49. > :13:52.think Ronnie has a bit to do yet. 101 and 94 in the last two frames,

:13:53. > :13:57.O'Sullivan, that puts pressure on you when you get the chance. You

:13:58. > :14:03.think you have got to make it, but that is not quite true, but what you

:14:04. > :14:10.must not do is make a mistake. He will feel if he lets O'Sullivan in

:14:11. > :14:20.he will not have a go again. LAUGHTER

:14:21. > :14:25.He is not on a colour. Such a difficult shot, to retain the

:14:26. > :14:30.accuracy and pot it, that was excellent. He could have hoped for

:14:31. > :14:38.something better than what he is facing now. Yellow ball.

:14:39. > :14:56.LAUGHTER He can't stop butting them, that was

:14:57. > :15:08.a safety. He is laughing himself. -- potting. The best safety of the

:15:09. > :15:14.night. Amazing that it went in at that pace. He has got to be careful

:15:15. > :15:21.not to knock a red into the corner. Oh! He needs help with the baulk

:15:22. > :15:29.collars and I don't think he will get any -- colours. Now, that is

:15:30. > :15:46.heartbreaking for Joe Perry. He has played it slow. He has not

:15:47. > :15:52.got it right. He has left himself very thin on the black, at that

:15:53. > :16:00.speed you are never certain of getting on the black. But we were

:16:01. > :16:07.surprised he did not get on it. He is looking at the blue. He not one

:16:08. > :16:20.of these in against Mark Selby earlier in the tournament. -- he

:16:21. > :16:30.knocked. Very nice. Just looking at the prize-money. O'Sullivan has

:16:31. > :16:32.earned ?8.5 million in prize money, and you can see why when you watch

:16:33. > :22:16.him play like this. Surely he can't get past from here.

:22:17. > :22:28.He has played in the middle, dead weight. Oh! What a great attempt. It

:22:29. > :22:40.will not make any difference. 88 from Ronnie O'Sullivan. He is

:22:41. > :22:45.looking very dominant. Yes, 5-2, and Joe Perry has not done much wrong, I

:22:46. > :22:53.have to say. But it is indeed 5-2, he is one more frame away from

:22:54. > :22:56.reaching the final. STUDIO: Dominant, Ronnie O'Sullivan, once

:22:57. > :23:00.again, it will take a great comeback now from Joe Perry to turn this

:23:01. > :23:08.around. In the blink of an eye he wins frames, Joe Perry, I can't

:23:09. > :23:12.think of him playing more than 4-5 bad shots, but every time Ronnie

:23:13. > :23:16.gets in, and I keep saying this, you have got to win the frame in one

:23:17. > :23:21.visit, rather than getting involved in a tactical battle. People can't

:23:22. > :23:27.break built like Ronnie O'Sullivan, well, a few of them can, but not as

:23:28. > :23:34.consistent. Joe Perry must be thinking, he has made a few bad

:23:35. > :23:39.shots, but he is 5-2 down. The sense of destiny grows inside the arena,

:23:40. > :23:43.everyone expects Ronnie to see it through, and Joe might be thinking

:23:44. > :23:48.that himself. How does he think he can still do it? You have got to

:23:49. > :23:52.have believed. Joe Perry has got to the semifinal because of its talent,

:23:53. > :23:58.he is a very good match player. He does not play the likes of Ronnie

:23:59. > :24:01.O'Sullivan and has only beaten him twice in 12 meetings, but not many

:24:02. > :24:07.players have a good record against O'Sullivan. What players have said,

:24:08. > :24:12.Ronnie has raised the bar, and this is the standard you have got to play

:24:13. > :24:15.to compete with him. It is impossible to play like that all the

:24:16. > :24:20.time, but this week he has been sensational, as good as I've seen

:24:21. > :24:23.him play in my career. I've never seen him play as consistently well,

:24:24. > :24:30.every time he gets to the table he is making 80 Rob of and that is how

:24:31. > :24:34.well he is playing. -- 80 or above. You have got to pick your schedules,

:24:35. > :24:39.like Ronnie is doing, you just playing in a few tournaments, Shaun

:24:40. > :24:42.Murphy is doing it, Stuart Bingham and Mark Selby, they are playing

:24:43. > :24:45.into many tournaments to be consistent, but I think they have

:24:46. > :24:49.got to pick and choose and practice properly. It is a dilemma, because

:24:50. > :24:55.of the prize money on offer. But maybe they can pick and choose a bit

:24:56. > :25:01.more. Don't play everyone, maybe one in every two, something like that.

:25:02. > :25:04.He has said he is using the Welsh Open as practice for exhibition

:25:05. > :25:05.matches, but he only needs one more frame to get into the final tomorrow

:25:06. > :25:15.night. Leading 5-2. COMMENTATOR: Joe Perry can't afford

:25:16. > :25:20.any more mistakes. I'm very impressed with Joe, he's gone out

:25:21. > :25:26.there and done his own thing, he has played very well. It must be very

:25:27. > :25:35.deflating when you are doing everything, but it is still nowhere

:25:36. > :25:39.near good enough. I go back to the fifth frame when Joe went into the

:25:40. > :25:45.reds and he was very unlucky not to land on anything. He could have won

:25:46. > :25:54.the frame and levelled at 3-3 but instead Ronnie got back in and he

:25:55. > :27:26.ended up getting the frame. Well, he can't pot everything, Ronnie.

:27:27. > :27:36.That has brought the black into play. Good safety. Has not put

:27:37. > :27:48.Ronnie O'Sullivan in trouble, but he has not left him a pot either.

:27:49. > :30:00.That is very good length on the cue ball.

:30:01. > :30:07.He is on the pink and he deserved to be on something, but it is a very

:30:08. > :30:16.thin cut into the centre and not easy. Not easy to pot and get good

:30:17. > :30:21.position. Things have closed up a bit, the black did come into play

:30:22. > :30:27.and the blue was out into play, but they are both out of it at the

:30:28. > :30:35.moment. Just the pink to play on at the moment.

:30:36. > :30:46.A nice gap here to get onto the pink in the right centre. He has been off

:30:47. > :30:55.the table while, Joe, and he will be glad to get another chance.

:30:56. > :30:59.He will have played a lot worse than this many times and been well in

:31:00. > :31:19.front. I think he has played the best

:31:20. > :31:27.snooker of the week from his point of view in this match, and he was

:31:28. > :31:32.2-2 at the interval, so he did hold Ronnie, but since then, great breaks

:31:33. > :31:38.from Ronnie have seen him forge ahead. Typical, when Joe gets a good

:31:39. > :31:45.opportunity, the black is tied up, not much he can do about it really.

:31:46. > :31:53.And the blue is out of commission, on the Balkan cushion. -- on the

:31:54. > :31:58.baulk cushion. He needs to control the cue ball very well, he only has

:31:59. > :32:08.the pink and the baulk colours to go with.

:32:09. > :32:17.That has made things a bit easier. The pink goes in both corners. And

:32:18. > :32:24.two centres. That gives you more choice of his position. Still not

:32:25. > :32:44.easy. Tied. -- tight. Should not be more

:32:45. > :32:59.than 12 inches away at all. He did not get closer to the red.

:33:00. > :33:07.If Joe wanted to, he could have played for the red which is above

:33:08. > :33:12.the black slightly to the left. He was too high on the pink, though,

:33:13. > :33:18.and he has had to come across either side of the red, the one I was

:33:19. > :33:26.talking about. So it is back to the pink in the right centre. He is

:33:27. > :33:31.taking these well, though, Joe. I would say that he is favourite for

:33:32. > :33:55.the frame now. Just needs to keep his concentration.

:33:56. > :34:06.I'm not sure if Ronnie expects to get back to the table in this frame.

:34:07. > :34:25.Joe has a good angle to develop the Fred -- develop the reds. If he

:34:26. > :34:32.could can -- cannon here, you can leave himself a shot. I think he is

:34:33. > :34:45.still on for the top right corner, just about.

:34:46. > :34:55.Joe will be disappointed. To see that red not find its way into the

:34:56. > :35:03.pocket. If Ronnie can make this long read, you might be able to develop

:35:04. > :35:14.the black, but the problem is, if he cannons is the red by the red go

:35:15. > :37:45.into the pocket? He did not play the cannon. He played it perfectly.

:37:46. > :37:55.That was the frame ball for Joe Perry, 36 points ahead with 35

:37:56. > :38:08.remaining. It looks like we are heading into the eighth frame, at

:38:09. > :38:13.5-3. No attempt at the pot. Snickering his opponent, Ronnie. He

:38:14. > :38:16.comes to the table needing a slicker. And, barring that snooker

:38:17. > :40:00.it will be 5-3 to Ronnie O'Sullivan. What is he going to do here? He

:40:01. > :40:05.needs one snooker. Seems to have made his decision already. He will

:40:06. > :40:21.get to a certain stage and then play for the snooker.

:40:22. > :40:31.In normal circumstances it would not be that difficult to go off one

:40:32. > :40:42.cushion. But the blue is tight on that cushion. He just about got away

:40:43. > :41:05.from that pocket, then. He has gone for behind the brown.

:41:06. > :41:09.Oh, what a shot! APPLAUSE

:41:10. > :41:27.Wonderful entertainment. Joe will just play the softer side

:41:28. > :41:28.cushion but he has got to slide it off and into the green. He has

:41:29. > :42:31.judged it well. Good shot. He tried to stun and get behind the

:42:32. > :42:45.brown, but it was a difficult shot. Well, he missed that by a long way.

:42:46. > :43:28.That was an unusual one. He has brought the blue into play.

:43:29. > :43:35.Not sure if he played the green to go back up there, but I will give

:43:36. > :43:41.him the benefit of the doubt! Quite a difficult one to hit. He can only

:43:42. > :43:50.go with the position he has now with the rest. And hit it hard.

:43:51. > :43:56.A good fit, not too bad. He is still in this frame. The only needs one

:43:57. > :44:10.snooker. -- he only needs. APPLAUSE

:44:11. > :44:19.What a fantastic green from Joe Perry. That should secure this frame

:44:20. > :44:29.for him now. And in goes the brown for good measure.

:44:30. > :44:37.It has been a fantastic match from Joe Perry. He has acquitted himself

:44:38. > :44:44.well. He has played some very, very good snooker. And in goes the pink.

:44:45. > :44:49.Doesn't bother with the black. So Joe Perry with that 56 break that he

:44:50. > :44:57.made earlier reduces the deficit to just two frames at 5-3. We saw the

:44:58. > :45:02.first look of exasperation on the face of Ronnie O'Sullivan for a

:45:03. > :45:08.change. But well played. Absolutely. He has played well to stay in the

:45:09. > :45:12.game, he has been hit with a barrage of sizeable breaks and he has stood

:45:13. > :45:17.up well. He made a lovely break of 56. He feels he is still in the

:45:18. > :45:23.match. If he wins this frame, we have not seen Ronnie put under

:45:24. > :45:27.pressure this week, yet. Every other time, he just steam rollers his

:45:28. > :45:32.opponent. What will he be like when someone takes him to the line, as at

:45:33. > :45:37.were? It would be good to see Joe Perry winning this frame just the

:45:38. > :45:40.sake of the punters, to see what Ronnie is like when he is put on the

:45:41. > :45:48.pressure. He has not been put under pressure this week. He will be

:45:49. > :45:57.happier, and he will know that. I remember Mark Selby playing in the

:45:58. > :46:00.Masters, and the score was 5-3, Mark Selby was unplugged, and he said if

:46:01. > :46:04.he would've won that game, he would fancy that. That is what players

:46:05. > :46:08.think when they are playing Ronnie O'Sullivan. If you get close to him,

:46:09. > :46:19.you have a chance. But nobody has got close to him this week,, yet.

:46:20. > :46:34.REFEREE: Frame nine, Ronnie O'Sullivan to break.

:46:35. > :46:47.APPLAUSE And a good break off to the left

:46:48. > :46:56.hand from Ronnie O'Sullivan. Looking for the one frame he needs to go

:46:57. > :46:57.into the final tomorrow to play Neil Robertson. Joe Perry may have other

:46:58. > :47:27.ideas. Both these players turned

:47:28. > :47:46.professional in 1992 at the same time.

:47:47. > :47:54.If this was a straightforward safety shot, this would have been down by

:47:55. > :48:04.now. Is he committing to this or just dropping the cue ball on the

:48:05. > :48:08.far cushion? He has just missed that red. He could have caught that red

:48:09. > :49:27.on the way back up. Good attempt. APPLAUSE

:49:28. > :49:32.Superb exhibition of ball striking from Ronnie, there, hitting it

:49:33. > :49:41.absolutely cleanly. Struck beautifully. A choice of blue or

:49:42. > :49:45.green. The red that is just by the black will pot into the right-hand

:49:46. > :49:52.corner and Ronnie will want to get on that as soon as to free up the

:49:53. > :49:57.black. Didn't get the best contact, there, Ronnie. Short of ideal

:49:58. > :50:25.position. The trouble is, the black only goes

:50:26. > :50:30.in one corner pocket. He has got the black he could go through, but there

:50:31. > :50:41.is no room for error. With the thinner cup, the pink going back

:50:42. > :50:47.into the middle. -- is there. There is only one thought in Ronnie

:50:48. > :50:50.O'Sullivan's mind at the moment, he is going to win this frame and the

:50:51. > :51:53.match at this visit. That was wayward from Ronnie. I just

:51:54. > :51:59.wonder if he was in two minds about what shot to play, positionally,

:52:00. > :52:36.from this black. Are freed for Joe Perry. -- a reprieve for.

:52:37. > :53:04.He has left a nice angle on this red, to play for the black.

:53:05. > :53:17.He will be looking to split a few reds open from the black. They are

:53:18. > :53:22.tightly packed together. He hasn't got the power to get the spin that

:53:23. > :53:23.Ronnie O'Sullivan gets to get into the pack. That was a bit too hard.

:53:24. > :53:45.The spin did not take. He just caught the edge of the pack.

:53:46. > :54:12.And the chance each for each player in this frame.

:54:13. > :54:18.Ronnie having a look at this red below the pink spot that will pot

:54:19. > :54:29.into the right-hand corner. It is a good shot to nothing possibility.

:54:30. > :54:32.There was a more risky long pot that he's looking at now, a three

:54:33. > :56:19.quarters ball red, He will have to play for these reds

:56:20. > :56:36.in the centre. Joe Perry is shuffling about in his

:56:37. > :56:53.chair, hoping for another chance. You never know.

:56:54. > :56:59.With Ronnie O'Sullivan, you think this could be the end. With most

:57:00. > :57:13.other players, you would still think you have a chance. 36 points in

:57:14. > :57:22.front, now. APPLAUSE

:57:23. > :57:30.Playing for the blue but he had a slight angle and is on the black.

:57:31. > :57:33.That has made a big difference, now. 44 points in front with just 43 left

:57:34. > :58:28.on the table. He really is striking the cue ball

:58:29. > :58:44.so well. Joe Perry has played very well in this match, with the highest

:58:45. > :58:45.break, 139, in the second frame. But it's Ronnie O'Sullivan who has been

:58:46. > :59:16.the most consistent of the two. 78 from Ronnie O'Sullivan, clinches

:59:17. > :59:21.the match. It has been a great match with both players playing well. You

:59:22. > :59:28.go through today's Neil Robertson in the final tomorrow, winning 6-3.

:59:29. > :59:36.We will have the box office finale to the Welsh Office that many would

:59:37. > :59:39.have wanted to see. 3- Time Warner Ronnie O'Sullivan into the final

:59:40. > :59:46.again, two years after he last lifted the trophy -- 3- time winner.

:59:47. > :59:51.Ronnie O'Sullivan against Neil Robertson tomorrow on BBC Two Wales.

:59:52. > :59:54.Make a date and join us for that. It was a much closer contest than any

:59:55. > :00:00.other that Ronnie has faced this week. Nothing to be worried about.

:00:01. > :00:03.He adapted himself well to the crowd being against them and played so

:00:04. > :00:08.well. The point we talked about earlier on, that Ronnie raised the

:00:09. > :00:12.bar. We will look at this shot he played early in the opening frame.

:00:13. > :00:18.Most players would play this as a shock to nothing, get the white ball

:00:19. > :00:25.past the baulk line. Ronnie, whenever he takes the pot on, very

:00:26. > :00:29.rarely, is seeping to get the white safe, but to get it in an area where

:00:30. > :00:35.he can score. To get up to Ronnie's standard, that is what players have

:00:36. > :00:41.to try and do. When Ronnie pots a good ball, he wants to make it a

:00:42. > :00:44.frame- winning chance. He missed the black off its spot a few moments

:00:45. > :00:48.later, then he went mad in the last frame. All in all, Ronnie will be

:00:49. > :00:52.pleased with the way he scored. Because Joe Perry stood up to him.

:00:53. > :00:57.That is key, when you stand up to him, he got the chance. Let's find

:00:58. > :01:02.out. Here he is. Congratulations, you are through to the final. I will

:01:03. > :01:08.not ask you if you think that your name is on the trophy. But Joe Perry

:01:09. > :01:11.give you a tough game tonight. Absolutely. He is an unbelievable

:01:12. > :01:16.player. He has had so many good matches. He should have beat me in

:01:17. > :01:21.the World Championships a couple of weeks yet -- a couple of years ago.

:01:22. > :01:26.He is a tough, tough player. He scores, and he fancies winning. He

:01:27. > :01:32.played quite well tonight. I am just trying to compete and Nick a few

:01:33. > :01:39.frames and I think I did that better tonight than in any other match. One

:01:40. > :01:42.of the things you look great at, the moment is your long game. You must

:01:43. > :01:51.be pleased the way that you're knocking the long ones in. Not as

:01:52. > :01:57.bad as it was eight years ago, I could not pot a long ball, but I

:01:58. > :02:02.have made a few. As long as I can make a few, I can start building

:02:03. > :02:12.momentum, I can score. Neil Robertson in the final? Robbocop! I

:02:13. > :02:18.watched him through the whole of the UK Championships. And he never

:02:19. > :02:24.showed one emotion through the whole tournament. Amazing. I have been

:02:25. > :02:28.watching him to make -- to see if he makes any kind of emotion and I kind

:02:29. > :02:32.of got this from him today. That is about all you get from him. It shows

:02:33. > :02:39.what an unbelievable professional he is. I am just these to be in the

:02:40. > :02:43.final. We're going to Bucharest for couple of exhibitions in April. I am

:02:44. > :02:50.excited about that. Then we are on a city tour of China. Are you taking

:02:51. > :02:54.you? You are more than welcomed. You have won this trophy three times

:02:55. > :03:05.before, you must want to go for a fourth. Have you seen that trophy?!

:03:06. > :03:10.Of course! Thank you Ronnie and thank you, Willie, for being with

:03:11. > :03:18.us. Tomorrow, the final will be live from 1pm tomorrow on BBC Two Wales.

:03:19. > :03:22.It is Neil Robertson, the 2007 winner, against a man going for a

:03:23. > :03:27.record-equalling fourth Welsh Open title. It could be a classic. Thank

:03:28. > :03:29.you for your company this evening. It is a very good night from all of

:03:30. > :03:36.us.
