:00:35. > :00:39.Hello, a very good morning and welcome to the Crucible Theatre in

:00:40. > :00:43.Sheffield, another top day of snow go ahead at the 2014 Dafabet World

:00:44. > :00:50.Championship, --snooker ahead. Another big-name through to the last

:00:51. > :00:54.16. Last year's beaten semifinalist Ricky Walden made it through. This

:00:55. > :00:58.morning, the man who beat him in the semifinal last year, Barry Hawkins,

:00:59. > :01:01.looking to set up a place in the second round and another showdown

:01:02. > :01:04.with Ricky Walden. He takes on Dave Gilbert. But this morning, we are

:01:05. > :01:17.concentrating on Judd Trump. Judd Trump's technique is absolutely

:01:18. > :01:20.superb. I don't know what it is about left-handed players, they

:01:21. > :01:25.appear to get through the ball better than some players. He plays

:01:26. > :01:31.like only Jimmy White could play. When he is under pressure he tends

:01:32. > :01:35.to throw the old cue at it, and that is down to temperament. And Judd, if

:01:36. > :01:40.he works hard enough on it, we'll get him back to number one. I

:01:41. > :01:45.sometimes think he goes for that one shot too many, as a crowd-pleaser.

:01:46. > :01:49.You have to forget the crowd. I am in favour of people playing

:01:50. > :01:53.entertaining snooker, but don't press the boundaries too far and

:01:54. > :01:57.don't be true to yourself. There has was been a slight question mark over

:01:58. > :02:02.Judd Trump's dedication. We know he likes fast cars, going out late at

:02:03. > :02:05.night, and to be number one in the world and win consistently and be

:02:06. > :02:09.world champion, I think his dedication has to be a little

:02:10. > :02:12.better. He plays some of the most fantastic shots, one of the best

:02:13. > :02:17.part is I have ever seen, but occasionally his shot selection

:02:18. > :02:21.leaves a little bit to be desired. He could have been world champion in

:02:22. > :02:26.2011, he spent two minutes over a shot on the blue and the meek, took

:02:27. > :02:30.the wrong choice. When the pot, missed it, John Higgins one frame.

:02:31. > :02:35.Judd Trump would have been four frames ahead and would have been

:02:36. > :02:38.world champion. Why he hasn't won more tournaments could be down to

:02:39. > :02:42.shot selection, could be because he goes for that one shot too many. I

:02:43. > :02:46.think he needs to play better safety. That will create the

:02:47. > :02:50.chances. And if he does get the chances, we know how good he is and

:02:51. > :02:58.his record will improve. JASON MOHAMMED: And Judd Trump

:02:59. > :03:02.against Tom Ford is the live match this morning. They were pulled off

:03:03. > :03:07.yesterday after playing eight frames of the scheduled nine. On the other

:03:08. > :03:11.table, last year's beaten finalist Barry Hawkins leads Dave Gilbert,

:03:12. > :03:15.all very tight in that one. The players are standing by, good

:03:16. > :03:20.morning to Rob Walker. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. They priv will

:03:21. > :03:24.keep the dream alive for four more players -- day five. This morning,

:03:25. > :03:45.both games played to what we hope will be a dramatic conclusion.

:03:46. > :03:50.First of all, please welcome a player who has a habit of being

:03:51. > :03:56.inspired by the big stage here. Two years ago, he made the last 16,

:03:57. > :04:00.having been forced to regain his place on tour through cue School. He

:04:01. > :04:06.is still right in touch in this match and will believe he can win

:04:07. > :04:18.this game. He calls himself the angry farmer. Please welcome David

:04:19. > :04:25.Gilbert! MUSIC: "On A Ragga Tip".

:04:26. > :04:31.And his opponent, a player who has discovered the best form of his

:04:32. > :04:36.career since he turned 30. He stormed to the final here last year,

:04:37. > :04:38.having never previously been past the second round. Winner of the

:04:39. > :04:46.Australian open, snooker's shoot out and the players' championships, here

:04:47. > :04:47.comes the Hawk, Harry Hawkins. -- Barry Hawkins.

:04:48. > :05:08.MUSIC: "My Love" by Kele Le Roc. And here on table two, please

:05:09. > :05:11.welcome up their grazing the big stage for the second time. He built

:05:12. > :05:14.double Crucible finalist Matthew Stevens in the last round of

:05:15. > :05:20.qualifying, semifinalist in snooker's shoot shoot out and the

:05:21. > :05:35.PDC finals. Give it up for the man from Leicester, Tom Ford.

:05:36. > :05:49.And his opponent, the most exciting player of his generation. His bold

:05:50. > :05:53.attacking game has won him an army of fans over the last three years.

:05:54. > :05:58.World Championships runner-up, winner of three ranking titles,

:05:59. > :06:03.including the UK crown and this season, his first official 147 in

:06:04. > :06:06.Bristol. From Bristol, the ace in the pack, please welcome Judd Trump.

:06:07. > :06:40.MUSIC: "Animals" by Martin Garrix. Judd Trump on and Tom Ford, this is

:06:41. > :06:43.their first meeting since 2011. Good morning to Willie Thorne and a man

:06:44. > :06:49.already through to the second round, Ken Doherty. No practice this

:06:50. > :06:54.morning? The practice is on hold, I'm going to watch some snooker and

:06:55. > :06:58.try and learn something. It should be a fascinating second session

:06:59. > :07:03.between the man from Leicester, Tom Ford, one of the hot favourites for

:07:04. > :07:09.the tournament, Judd Trump. Always exciting to watch, Judd Trump,

:07:10. > :07:13.Willie. I was surprised these guys were taken off after only eight

:07:14. > :07:19.frames. You couldn't have got a bet on that. You would have thought it

:07:20. > :07:25.would have been the quickest of the first-round matches. That is a nice

:07:26. > :07:30.way to start. It was disappointing, the first session. Neither player

:07:31. > :07:36.got a grip of their game and job trump -- Judd Trump was giving Tom

:07:37. > :07:41.as many chances as he was Judd. Tom had unsettled, if you watched

:07:42. > :07:44.yesterday. He was struggling with his cue action. The highest break up

:07:45. > :07:47.the whole match was 62, Tom Ford only with 48. They are both very

:07:48. > :08:04.attacking players. Decided to take the brown arm, it

:08:05. > :08:11.was risky, but an excellent shot. A very difficult job.

:08:12. > :08:29.Can he get an angle? Not on the blue but maybe on the pink. The black

:08:30. > :08:35.It is certainly a lot easier to go into the pack from the pink, because

:08:36. > :08:39.the blue, if he went in from the blue, the pink is just that little

:08:40. > :08:50.bit away from the pack, it is not straightforward.

:08:51. > :08:58.An excellent camera angle there. The problem here is he has got to win

:08:59. > :09:01.the side of the pack -- hit the side of the pack. Anything other than

:09:02. > :09:04.full ball and he will not split the pack. He needs a lot of power, as

:09:05. > :09:14.well. He played it well, he went into the

:09:15. > :09:22.side of the pack. But he was never bringing many reds into play, was

:09:23. > :09:25.he? As you rightly say, the pink being of its spot. I thought he

:09:26. > :09:32.could have played that shot on the red and still been on the pink. He

:09:33. > :09:36.is slightly hampered with the cue. The pink will go into the middle but

:09:37. > :09:42.he needs left-hand side to get close to it. It looks like the only shot

:09:43. > :09:48.he can play. I wonder if he will take a chance and part the red,

:09:49. > :09:55.coming off the side cushion. -- pot the red. Maybe going into the pack.

:09:56. > :10:02.This is a possibility, try and hit it as hard as he can, come off the

:10:03. > :10:03.side of the pack and bring some reds into play and the cue ball up the

:10:04. > :10:13.table. Probably thought it was too

:10:14. > :10:32.difficult. He will probably try and bring the black into play here.

:10:33. > :10:59.Good effort, but unlucky. Still on the red, though.

:11:00. > :11:04.A bit aside from Tom when he potted the red, not a nice angle on the

:11:05. > :11:16.blue. -- of a sigh. Just couldn't generate enough speed

:11:17. > :11:42.on the cue ball. So end up That has been the story of this

:11:43. > :11:46.match so far. The highest break has only been 62 from Judd Trump. No

:11:47. > :12:03.photographs in the arena, please. Everybody talks about the

:12:04. > :12:07.first-round nerves and I just went into Tom's dressing room before the

:12:08. > :12:10.match started and he said he felt like the cue didn't belong to him,

:12:11. > :12:16.like he couldn't push it through at all and he was jabbing at

:12:17. > :12:21.everything. We said, just go out and enjoy yourselves, you could have one

:12:22. > :12:25.that session yesterday. And with the kisses and the flukes so far, things

:12:26. > :12:41.are going pretty well this morning! Excellent break-builder, Tom Ford.

:12:42. > :12:45.He has made a couple of maximums in tournament play, so he knows his way

:12:46. > :12:48.around a table. A little bit like Judd, his shot selection is

:12:49. > :13:33.sometimes reckless, but goodness me, he pots balls.

:13:34. > :13:42.That was an excellent shot, wasn't it? He played two shots in one, if

:13:43. > :14:12.he didn't get into the cue ball enough, he was going into the reds.

:14:13. > :14:22.He has got a red into the right centre. He has done all the hard

:14:23. > :14:24.work now, he is 45 points in front and faces a tricky red. So if he

:14:25. > :14:32.misses it, that lead can disappear. Very good, well done. Should win the

:14:33. > :15:02.frame now. Well, Willie's words of wisdom in

:15:03. > :15:06.the dressing room may have had some resonance with Tom Ford. He looks

:15:07. > :15:13.much more relaxed this morning than he did yesterday. When you are 6-2

:15:14. > :15:16.behind, OK, it is an uphill battle, but you can't freeze out there. You

:15:17. > :15:22.have to loosen up and have a go. Absolutely.

:15:23. > :15:30.Of course, you get a couple of frames on the board and a lot can

:15:31. > :15:33.happen, coming into this first mini-session. If you set a target of

:15:34. > :15:41.winning three of the first four frames, he is well back in the

:15:42. > :15:44.match. I think the good thing for Tom yesterday was getting taken off

:15:45. > :15:49.a frame early, because the way things were going, it would have

:15:50. > :15:53.been 7-2. A little bit more time than normal, having only played

:15:54. > :16:00.eight frames. All of the frames will be played in this session, if there

:16:01. > :16:05.is time. A little bit fortunate with the first red, and one thing, but

:16:06. > :16:08.apart from that, he has hit every ball beautifully. Cueing beautifully

:16:09. > :16:44.this morning. Judd Trump says he is not going to

:16:45. > :16:48.come to the table. A nice 57 break from Tom Ford gives him the opening

:16:49. > :16:55.frame. It cuts the deficit, he is only three behind, Judd Trump leads

:16:56. > :16:59.6-3. It all started with a lovely fluke and you need better to settle

:17:00. > :17:04.your nerve. We can show you this now. He is playing along pot in the

:17:05. > :17:09.corner, trying to get a good cue ball at the same time. Catches the

:17:10. > :17:16.jaws, not a bad effort, but look at the kiss on the red. The white

:17:17. > :17:20.almost caught it up. He didn't win the frame at that visit, but the

:17:21. > :17:24.next time, playing for a baulk colour, not any kind of kiss, but

:17:25. > :17:27.these are the kind of things you need to happen when you are in a

:17:28. > :17:36.tight match. Look at those two cases. Kisses.

:17:37. > :17:46.I have known Tom since he was ten, he is to come -- used to come in a

:17:47. > :17:52.club with his parents. Write a little cheeky monkey he was. My late

:17:53. > :17:56.mother used to take him under her wing -- a right little cheeky

:17:57. > :18:03.monkey, he was. Yes, a lovely lad on the circuit. Sir Tom Ford will be

:18:04. > :18:31.feeling a little bit better with his morning's work so far.

:18:32. > :18:41.Hasn't had a chance, Judd Trump, in the opening exchanges.

:18:42. > :18:47.They are the type of pots that he likes to go for, Judd Trump

:18:48. > :18:53.specials, we sometimes call them, but he was a long way away from that

:18:54. > :18:54.one and he has gifted Tom Ford and other easy opportunity, with plenty

:18:55. > :19:11.of reds in the open. That is a wonderful statistic to

:19:12. > :19:29.have, 100% success at the long pot attempts.

:19:30. > :19:34.Pot the red, nice angle on the blue and try and get down and take some

:19:35. > :19:47.of these reds in and around the black spot.

:19:48. > :19:58.We have done well in Leicester, as far as snooker is concerned. Mark

:19:59. > :20:01.Selby, Tom Ford, several others, all played at my club in Leicester. We

:20:02. > :20:03.are very lucky with the amount of talent we have had at the club. Tom

:20:04. > :20:51.is one of the best. A little bit too hard. A touch of

:20:52. > :20:57.right-hand side, just to kiss the red nearest the cue ball. A little

:20:58. > :21:02.hair on the ball. Even the referees can get a little bit nervous when

:21:03. > :21:15.they come to the Crucible. I sought Michaela in the players' room

:21:16. > :21:16.getting a Lucozade. She suddenly so I was watching, bad move, her secret

:21:17. > :21:32.wasn't safe. -- saw I was. Played an excellent cannon. Just

:21:33. > :21:39.gone astray, the cue ball. He knows this is a great chance to

:21:40. > :21:53.get right back into the match. Ken has put that line-up, he will do

:21:54. > :21:58.well to hold it. That is unlucky. He played that as well as he could have

:21:59. > :22:03.done. Any harder, he couldn't get the case. All of a sudden it was

:22:04. > :22:37.perfect, then it's just travelled an extra inch. And no shot on.

:22:38. > :22:42.He would obviously like to run off the red he is closest to and get the

:22:43. > :22:53.white in baulk. He needs the cue ball to slow down.

:22:54. > :24:43.And it is pretty good. Excellent shot.

:24:44. > :24:49.Couldn't do a lot there with the safety. It is a negative safety shot

:24:50. > :24:53.and he knows he is possibly going to put himself in trouble, but he

:24:54. > :24:57.needed to find the cushion. There is a gap, the red to the left of the

:24:58. > :25:05.pink, two away from the pink, will pot.

:25:06. > :25:10.He has not settled yet, Judd. Not yet had an easy opportunity, to be

:25:11. > :25:53.fair. There is a little bit of room around

:25:54. > :25:57.the black. He has just not settled at all. What his he thinking of at

:25:58. > :26:20.the minute? He probably feels like Tom did yesterday.

:26:21. > :26:27.He has got the red into the right centre, and also the one to the left

:26:28. > :26:31.of the pink. He can pot that and screw back and possibly bring the

:26:32. > :26:35.pink into play. He will still be on the blue if the pink didn't come

:26:36. > :26:37.away from the cluster. But it is a lovely angle on that red just to the

:26:38. > :26:53.left of the pink. He tried to bring the pink into play

:26:54. > :26:58.and stay on the black. And it is not too bad. The black angle is a bit

:26:59. > :27:04.acute, but he can just drop it in, dead weight.

:27:05. > :27:08.It is there, and now an excellent opportunity for Tom Ford. Already 42

:27:09. > :27:27.points in the lead. I know he has been helped by some of

:27:28. > :27:29.Judd Trump's misses, but he's looking very relaxed today. Cueing

:27:30. > :27:43.nice and smoothly. Both players said to the press that

:27:44. > :27:50.there was plenty of kicks out there. That seemed to be a cake. --

:27:51. > :27:52.kick. I think sometimes if you are not cueing well, you can make your

:27:53. > :27:57.own kick. You can tell it wasn't a clean

:27:58. > :28:10.strike. That is not the best shot he has

:28:11. > :28:13.played. Wanted to be straight on this red so he could push it through

:28:14. > :28:16.for the black in the opposite corner. He may be straight on this

:28:17. > :28:27.red so he could push it through for the black in the opposite corner. He

:28:28. > :28:44.it all looks pretty easy for Tom at the moment, he's cueing very nicely.

:28:45. > :28:55.I think if he is worried about the pink not being available, he can go

:28:56. > :28:57.for the red in the middle. Until you are absolutely sure, just play for

:28:58. > :29:10.the red in the middle. Decided to play for the middle red

:29:11. > :29:13.of those three behind the pink spot. Red and colour, and he will have won

:29:14. > :29:53.the opening two frames and will have closed to within two.

:29:54. > :30:02.A little bit careless there. Judd has decided not to have a better

:30:03. > :30:09.practice, so Tom Ford, an opening break of 57 and a couple of 30s in

:30:10. > :30:14.that frame. 6-4. If you haven't had a shot, a little bit of cue time,

:30:15. > :30:19.would you have had ten minutes there? He had a couple of easy

:30:20. > :30:27.opportunities and I would try to get Mike cue I'm going, no doubt. He

:30:28. > :30:37.looks a bit tired, doesn't he? It is good to get your cue I'm going, just

:30:38. > :30:44.get the pace of the table. -- cue arm. A couple of very bad misses,

:30:45. > :30:47.particularly long pots, he was quite a long way away. You don't mind

:30:48. > :30:49.missing them but certainly the margin would be of concern, no

:30:50. > :31:16.doubt. Not the best break off. He's got to

:31:17. > :31:24.play it a bit more powerfully to go round the back of the black.

:31:25. > :31:37.Very hard to generate the spin to get round. Is the pink on? That

:31:38. > :31:47.would be a bonus. I'm not sure he knew that was available.

:31:48. > :32:09.In the entire match he's only had ten long pots and potted everyone.

:32:10. > :32:13.Two inches up and he could have potted the pink and brought reds

:32:14. > :32:28.into the table. He left the cue ball at a nice angle

:32:29. > :32:30.to put this red into the corner pocket and come off the side of the

:32:31. > :32:35.park. Perfect shot. Perfectly on the blue.

:32:36. > :33:03.APPLAUSE He could have hit that as hard as he

:33:04. > :33:06.liked because the pace was taken out of it by the bunch of reds and it's

:33:07. > :33:23.worked out beautifully for him. With the angle he's got on the blue

:33:24. > :33:28.he could play a stun run through and try to get to that read just above

:33:29. > :33:36.the pink. If he hit it badly, even if he rests on the red that's in the

:33:37. > :33:46.middle of the table on the left-hand side...

:33:47. > :33:52.As I was saying, he could stun off the cushion and even if he rests on

:33:53. > :33:57.that red, he will still have the red down the cushion. Otherwise he would

:33:58. > :34:02.be on the one in the corner. He does have that angle on the blue. He

:34:03. > :34:12.needs to get close because he needs pink and black in play very quickly.

:34:13. > :34:24.He didn't play that shot. He played with bottom for a loose red.

:34:25. > :34:35.APPLAUSE Where does the black go when it's

:34:36. > :34:38.potted? That's the problem for Tom. It could go directly behind the pink

:34:39. > :34:45.and then the black would still be available.

:34:46. > :34:55.He's just having a closer look. Looks like the pink is almost on the

:34:56. > :34:58.black spot, which means the black will go directly behind it which

:34:59. > :35:02.should make it available. It's almost in line. The black will still

:35:03. > :35:15.pot. That's what Tom has worked out. The

:35:16. > :35:19.pink spot was not available so the black will go directly behind the

:35:20. > :35:23.pink but it should still be pottable into the left-hand corner pocket.

:35:24. > :35:27.That's why he left the angle on the red into the bottom right-hand

:35:28. > :35:33.corner. Nice angle to put it back on for the black.

:35:34. > :35:34.REFEREE: There is an earpiece or two that is too loud so please adjust

:35:35. > :35:41.the volume. He wants to finish lower on the

:35:42. > :35:57.black. He would like to finish anywhere on

:35:58. > :36:00.the line of that cue ball and just nudged the pink away. A bit pacey to

:36:01. > :36:31.get the pink well a way. He risked playing it hard to get

:36:32. > :36:34.that pink away. Not on the desired red but one more good positional

:36:35. > :36:41.shot and you'd fancy him winning the frame.

:36:42. > :36:50.He's cursing his luck a little there. The red isn't hampered. He

:36:51. > :36:52.has a nice easy shot for the black but it makes the red a bit more

:36:53. > :37:20.tricky. The pink popped into the bottom

:37:21. > :37:46.right-hand corner. A nice little cannon onto the three

:37:47. > :37:50.reds. He could have hit that with a lot more pace. He was very tentative

:37:51. > :37:52.on that. I don't know why because the cue ball wasn't going to go

:37:53. > :38:14.anywhere. Those laces are a bit long! He had

:38:15. > :38:18.to tuck them in! There is no reason to play them that slowly. I don't

:38:19. > :38:19.think he can get to the black here unless he runs almost through the

:38:20. > :38:31.jaws of the pocket. APPLAUSE

:38:32. > :38:38.Is he on it? Wow, he's done well there. Whenever you're cueing down

:38:39. > :38:45.over a ball, usually the white bounces. That bounced just took that

:38:46. > :38:49.inch of pace out of the cue ball. What a chance this is now for the

:38:50. > :39:28.first three frames of the morning and to close within just one.

:39:29. > :39:35.That was the first pressure shot he had to play and he'll be very

:39:36. > :39:39.disappointed. Not to let anything straightforward for Judd, though. --

:39:40. > :39:57.not left anything. Almost 32 minutes since Judd Trump

:39:58. > :39:59.last potted a ball and this could have been much easier. Tom Ford very

:40:00. > :40:09.fortunate. Yeah, it was difficult. Wasn't easy,

:40:10. > :40:20.that shot. I'm sure if the blue wasn't there,

:40:21. > :40:37.he would have potted that red. Tom is certainly having the rub of

:40:38. > :40:38.the green so far this morning. At the moment, he's taking advantage of

:40:39. > :40:58.it. A bit of pressure on this pot. Has he got away with it this time? I

:40:59. > :41:00.don't think so. Red on the pink spot goes into the left centre. The first

:41:01. > :41:27.long pot he's missed, Ken. Well, if anything needs to give a

:41:28. > :41:29.player confidence, it is your opponent missing. At the moment,

:41:30. > :41:46.Judd is missing everything. That's not good enough, really, for

:41:47. > :41:50.either player. You have to have 90% at this standard to get a guarantee

:41:51. > :41:54.of winning a match or getting close to winning a match. Anything above

:41:55. > :42:00.90, you're looking very close to winning. All of a sudden, Tom is

:42:01. > :42:02.seen he's got Judd on the rack a little bit and is getting a little

:42:03. > :42:18.bit anxious. Yeah, but still hasn't left anything

:42:19. > :42:24.easy. It's almost 34 minutes now since his last pot. He's got a

:42:25. > :42:33.straightforward snooker here, stun the red up as tight as possible.

:42:34. > :42:57.Dogear Tee There is a possibility of an escape here. He's got to try and

:42:58. > :43:08.rest on the red where his Q-Tip is. If he can rest on that, it may be

:43:09. > :43:19.OK. Not leaving anything easy for Judge Trump, that's for sure.

:43:20. > :43:30.REFEREE: Foul and a miss. He should have had one more Weetabix this

:43:31. > :43:38.morning and he might have reached that.

:43:39. > :43:43.Very healthy, Ken, eating that cereal. I am a toast and peanut

:43:44. > :43:51.butter man! Well done. Excellent.

:43:52. > :44:50.APPLAUSE To be honest, Ken, how many times

:44:51. > :44:58.would you pot that out of ten? Maybe one.

:44:59. > :45:07.There was a bit of panic attached to that shot, wasn't there? He hasn't

:45:08. > :45:13.potted a ball for almost 40 minutes. Still, should be a bit more patient.

:45:14. > :45:17.Tom hasn't capitalised on it. It is poor. He'll be disappointed. He

:45:18. > :45:30.knows he has Judd Trump on the rack at the moment.

:45:31. > :45:34.At the moment, quite worrying for Judd Trump and his fans. He looks

:45:35. > :45:50.quite at sea at the moment. I can't believe he's not just

:45:51. > :45:54.rolling up to the green and risking Judd leaving him a smoker.

:45:55. > :46:20.Just over four hours of play in this match now.

:46:21. > :46:31.You would expect it to be quite quick but it's been slow enough.

:46:32. > :46:35.Between these two very fast players, quick scores, the frame time tends

:46:36. > :46:42.to be considerably less. He's not only missing, Willie, but

:46:43. > :46:57.he's missing by quite some margin. Tom went to be too displeased to see

:46:58. > :47:03.that red going right to the top of the baulk ocean. The red in the

:47:04. > :47:04.middle must be dead straight otherwise you would just get down

:47:05. > :47:19.and roll it in. Well done. Good shot.

:47:20. > :47:30.APPLAUSE Excellent shot.

:47:31. > :48:18.APPLAUSE This is certainly not what the crowd

:48:19. > :48:24.were expecting this morning. Trump hasn't potted one ball yet since he

:48:25. > :48:26.started to play this morning. That is quite a concern for him. He needs

:48:27. > :48:44.to get going very quickly. Not the easiest of pots to play to

:48:45. > :48:54.guarantee winning a frame. Well done.

:48:55. > :49:02.Black available so just one more red needed.

:49:03. > :50:04.A lot of viewers haven't seen much of Tom on the TV but he is a very

:50:05. > :50:13.good player. He beat Matthew Stevens in the last

:50:14. > :50:51.qualifying round and you have to be good to beat him.

:50:52. > :50:57.A different Tom Ford we are seeing today than yesterday. I spoke to

:50:58. > :51:06.Mark Selby earlier and he said Tom was very nervous yesterday. This is

:51:07. > :51:07.more like what he can do. He is floating around the table at the

:51:08. > :51:18.moment, enjoying it. Relaxed cueing. APPLAUSE

:51:19. > :51:33.A little exhibition shot. APPLAUSE

:51:34. > :51:39.A beautiful break of 65 for Tom Ford. He is feeling an awful lot

:51:40. > :51:51.more comfortable out there now and his water is tasting nicer as well!

:51:52. > :51:56.He trails Judd Trump 5-6 now. A lot of misses from Judd Trump. Nothing

:51:57. > :52:00.easy, though. We have a compilation of some of the misses he's played

:52:01. > :52:03.and none of them have been easy. You may say this is reckless but to get

:52:04. > :52:12.the case into the reds was unfortunate. He's not even getting

:52:13. > :52:20.close to the jaws at the moment. He is missing them by inches. He's

:52:21. > :52:26.missing them by a long way. This wasn't as easy.

:52:27. > :52:34.That was a very strange shot to take on.

:52:35. > :52:42.The signature shots that we would be used to seeing Judd Trump not in,

:52:43. > :52:47.those long pot, he is very accomplished that but he is missing

:52:48. > :52:50.them by some way. Ill at ease with himself at the moment and needs to

:52:51. > :52:55.get a frame on the board very quickly and start porting some

:52:56. > :52:58.balls. Tom is not killing the frames off in one visit but he is scoring

:52:59. > :53:05.very, very heavily with two frames above 50.

:53:06. > :53:09.One more frame before the mid-session interval and every

:53:10. > :53:29.chance Tom could level. Another of Judd Trump's specials. I

:53:30. > :53:38.expect him to get this. Goodness me! He's played to stop that on the

:53:39. > :53:42.black into the left-hand pocket. He's trying to stop it just there

:53:43. > :53:45.and it went on another 3/4-macro feet. Just not getting through the

:53:46. > :54:04.ball at all at the moment. I know who will be in the practice

:54:05. > :54:11.room on the interval. You can be sure about that. He decelerated into

:54:12. > :54:17.it a little bit and that's why he didn't get any stop on the cue ball

:54:18. > :54:22.whatsoever. That's worrying. From Tom's point of view, he will sense

:54:23. > :54:25.weakness in Judd Trump's game. He's got to be a bit more com posed and

:54:26. > :54:30.patient because he knows he's going to get chances. With his opponent

:54:31. > :54:33.under pressure, he's got to try and keep it that way. He doesn't want to

:54:34. > :54:52.give Judd Trump any opportunity. He could play this red sheer with

:54:53. > :54:55.the rest and get the cue ball somewhere near where his waistcoat

:54:56. > :55:09.is as long as he misses the kiss on the yellow.

:55:10. > :55:15.Tom's and not the tallest. I wonder whether he's going to need

:55:16. > :55:19.scaffolding to this! Decided he's not going to attempt that one. A

:55:20. > :55:47.stepladder would be handy! That's so careless, Ken, isn't it?

:55:48. > :55:52.About as bad a safety shot as he could have played there. Why not

:55:53. > :55:58.just rest on the red at this end of the table? No need to risk anything

:55:59. > :56:14.careless. Well, Judd, another chance to get a pot, your first of the day.

:56:15. > :56:23.It's just not happening at the moment.

:56:24. > :56:29.The good thing for Judd is that there's going to be an interval

:56:30. > :56:31.after this because he is unlucky at the moment. It will do him a favour,

:56:32. > :56:56.having that 15 minute break. He may have played that quite

:56:57. > :56:57.nicely, really, in the way that he wasn't going to leave anything easy

:56:58. > :58:41.for Judd. This may have run a fraction too

:58:42. > :59:19.far. The red is on but he will can then

:59:20. > :59:44.into the black so he won't play that red. -- can then into.

:59:45. > :00:34.Goodness me! It was nearer to me in the commentary box, that one!

:00:35. > :00:49.Just over 50 minutes, Judd Trump finally off the launch pad. And it

:00:50. > :00:54.wasn't the easiest read by the delete red to play. He played quite

:00:55. > :01:03.slowly. -- it wasn't the easiest red to play.

:01:04. > :01:42.No matter how good a player you are, you have got to play safety

:01:43. > :01:45.properly. And at this stage, playing an aggressive safety shot is not the

:01:46. > :02:00.way forward. A thin safety shot would have been better there.

:02:01. > :02:08.Ken, a very aggressive safety shot to play that thick, wasn't it? It

:02:09. > :02:13.certainly was. You really need to play those as thin as possible and

:02:14. > :02:27.not bring any reds out into the open. Try and keep it at a minimum.

:02:28. > :02:32.Straightforward pot but not straightforward position. He has

:02:33. > :02:37.played it with a lot of left-hand side to straighten up the cue ball

:02:38. > :02:43.and bat has worked out OK. He has got a virtually straight blue into

:02:44. > :02:47.the same pocket as the red. Then it is a case of running through for a

:02:48. > :02:53.couple of reds, below the pink and just to the left of it.

:02:54. > :03:08.But to win this frame, he needs that black back on its spot.

:03:09. > :03:17.He will try and get back on it maybe after this red. The bottom red does

:03:18. > :03:43.pot and then just stone down and go for the black -- stun down.

:03:44. > :03:48.If this goes in, there is every chance it could be 6-6, but it is a

:03:49. > :04:02.very tough pot. He played it very, very well, and

:04:03. > :04:08.very confidently. He didn't drop it in, didn't quit on it. Nicely on

:04:09. > :04:10.this red as well into the same pocket.

:04:11. > :04:17.A little bit straight on the one he is closest to but he has the

:04:18. > :04:18.insurance of the one closest to the pocket. Excellent opportunity now

:04:19. > :04:31.for Tom Ford. These are the opportunities, if he

:04:32. > :04:35.has the ambition to beat Judd Trump, this is where he really has

:04:36. > :04:55.two capitalised. He has Judd Trump on the rack. -- has to capitalise.

:04:56. > :05:01.When he runs through, he will be hampered on the two reds to the left

:05:02. > :05:11.of the black. He doesn't want to end up over the top of them.

:05:12. > :05:19.He will be slightly cueing over this red as well.

:05:20. > :05:41.It is always missable. Needs to be straight again. Not quite.

:05:42. > :05:46.If he can screw back and not go in ov, he might play for the blue,

:05:47. > :06:28.because he has got the same problem.

:06:29. > :06:35.Just never got on a red right there, did he? Three chances to get on a

:06:36. > :06:44.straight red and every time, he left an angle. Yes, has Heathrow and Judd

:06:45. > :06:46.Trump a lifeline here? Attack has Heathrow. It is OK, it is not too

:06:47. > :07:15.bad. The red just below the pink pot has

:07:16. > :07:26.-- as well. He may be able to bring the pink into play.

:07:27. > :07:36.He really needs to make something of this opportunity, Judd.

:07:37. > :07:42.The red above the pink make pot into the right centre. You may elect to

:07:43. > :07:55.go for that. He has judged that perfectly. And

:07:56. > :08:29.this will certainly help his cause when he pops this red.

:08:30. > :08:36.Still six points behind, but the pleasing thing for Judd Trump and

:08:37. > :08:51.his supporters is he is getting his cueing arm going now.

:08:52. > :08:56.He wanted a bit more of an angle on the pink so he could get closer to

:08:57. > :09:05.these reds. He is going to have to just drop the pink in. He should put

:09:06. > :09:07.this red but I'm not sure whether he will take the opportunity to try and

:09:08. > :09:25.bring the red above this into play. Being a left-hander, the reds on

:09:26. > :10:03.that side of the table, it doesn't cause too much of a problem.

:10:04. > :10:15.That was a nice shot, screwing into the red and bringing that into play.

:10:16. > :10:23.And still being on the pink and the blue.

:10:24. > :10:39.He has missed it. Well, he has felt he got a heavy contact. Let's have a

:10:40. > :10:55.look. Yes, it looks like the blue straighten up. That is unfortunate.

:10:56. > :10:58.Whichever way Tom pops this, he will not get ideal position unless he

:10:59. > :11:41.plays for the yellow. -- pots. The blue... It is very difficult to

:11:42. > :11:44.judge, because if he hits this blue he has to judge it off the side

:11:45. > :11:51.cushion onto the top cushion and we know how quick these tables are. A

:11:52. > :11:58.little bit unlucky, if he misses the cannon, he is on the red to the

:11:59. > :12:02.middle. He would loved to have put it where you said, but he couldn't

:12:03. > :12:06.get it quick enough. It was clever, but unfortunately it has not worked.

:12:07. > :12:09.But he is back in the frame, every chance to get in between green and

:12:10. > :12:36.brown here. Played it the other way around. I am

:12:37. > :12:44.surprised, it looked on, that safety. Yes, it looked pretty

:12:45. > :12:48.straightforward, he thought he could get tight enough behind the black.

:12:49. > :12:56.Had he have done, it would have been a very difficult snooker to get out

:12:57. > :13:01.of. As it turns out... Well, does he take this pot on, the red into the

:13:02. > :13:08.yellow pocket? Very, very difficult. He may attempt a cross double. The

:13:09. > :14:00.red that is close to the left centre pocket. Again, very, very tricky.

:14:01. > :14:07.Does he have an angle on the yellow? If he does, he will take the pot on

:14:08. > :14:12.and move down for the red. He has a nice angle, he can get very

:14:13. > :14:34.close to this red. I don't think the green will pot,

:14:35. > :14:37.not sure from the commentary position. But this is an excellent

:14:38. > :14:41.opportunity to screw back for the blue. Bit more difficult using the

:14:42. > :15:00.rest. Just needed to be two or three

:15:01. > :15:12.inches further back and he wouldn't have needed the rest.

:15:13. > :15:23.He is not at the races, is he? Just not at the races at the moment. What

:15:24. > :15:36.an opportunity. Tom Ford can win the opening four frames.

:15:37. > :15:44.Well, Tom, that was your opportunity. Will you get another in

:15:45. > :15:51.this frame? What a massive frame this is. In the context of the whole

:15:52. > :15:53.match, this is huge. Judd just having a look to see if the green

:15:54. > :16:09.pots. It is very, very tight. There you see it. Well, I think it

:16:10. > :16:26.does pot, with a bit of left-hand side.

:16:27. > :16:34.He is unsure of it. And if it doesn't pot, he is going to need an

:16:35. > :16:41.angle for the yellow. Such a margin for error, it is very

:16:42. > :18:16.disappointing for Judd Trump. He had a chance here are playing it

:18:17. > :18:19.very thin and getting the white up the table. But that is as good as

:18:20. > :19:21.anything. If he puts this, good luck to him. -- pots.

:19:22. > :19:27.Might be worth having a little pop at this yellow, because he knows he

:19:28. > :19:40.is guaranteed to get the snooker if it doesn't go in. If there -- not,

:19:41. > :19:43.there is every chance the cue ball could go between... It is a little

:19:44. > :19:49.too thin to get in behind green and brown.

:19:50. > :20:31.Maybe it wasn't. Look where the white has gone.

:20:32. > :20:41.Disappointed with the safety. They have both had a good look at this

:20:42. > :20:46.green and it must be very close to being pottable. The angle he has got

:20:47. > :20:48.on the yellow is OK, he can come past the blue and get on the green,

:20:49. > :21:47.if it pops. -- pots. Looks pretty good safety shot. Not

:21:48. > :21:58.too sure it is easy to get this sake. -- safe. He really doesn't

:21:59. > :22:01.want to bring the pink into play. He has an 8-point lead, if Tom Ford

:22:02. > :22:12.gets a chance, he will need the pink to win this frame.

:22:13. > :22:30.It is an easy hit on the green, but the problem is trying to keep it

:22:31. > :22:33.safe. He has played it well. Excellent shot. Just got the outside

:22:34. > :22:48.edge. With the pink coming slightly off

:22:49. > :22:50.the cushion, you would suggest whoever puts the green has a pretty

:22:51. > :23:39.good chance of winning the frame. This is the chance for Tom Ford to

:23:40. > :23:57.get all square. He can just stun down on this for

:23:58. > :24:34.the blue in the middle. This Tom apologises for his good fortune,

:24:35. > :24:46.but that was the pot that got away. He should be happy with himself, not

:24:47. > :24:48.depressed. Did this leave the brand for the right centre -- the brown?

:24:49. > :25:03.It might be worth the risk. He has overcut it. Hitting the

:25:04. > :25:10.local, he has left the brown in play. If he misses the knuckle, you

:25:11. > :25:15.can't pot the brown. What an opportunity for Tom Ford, brown over

:25:16. > :25:31.the middle, blue over them corner -- the corner.

:25:32. > :25:42.I am sure he can play one cushion to get onto the pink. Decided to play

:25:43. > :25:45.it off three. It looks easy but it is a half ball cut into a blind

:25:46. > :26:00.pocket. From this angle, it is tough. Tom

:26:01. > :26:08.knows the importance of this frame and it is getting to him.

:26:09. > :26:17.It is getting tense. This would be some shot to get on the black.

:26:18. > :26:30.The line is good. It needs to run. It is running. What are shot. --

:26:31. > :26:34.what a shot. Judd Trump has missed a lot of pots, but he may not play a

:26:35. > :26:42.better pot than that in this championship. It is there. What a

:26:43. > :26:46.shot from Judd Trump. He gets out of jail. Tom sits in his chair, he is

:26:47. > :26:55.very, very disappointed, but it is Judd Trump who takes the lead, 7-5,

:26:56. > :26:58.over Tom Ford, as they go into the session. Tom Ford kicking himself

:26:59. > :27:03.after missing that, but what a great shot from Judd Trump on the pink,

:27:04. > :27:07.that is a very important frame for Judd Trump. The players are running

:27:08. > :27:12.mid-session interval and the winner of the match plays Wales' Ryan Day

:27:13. > :27:16.in the second round. We will now turn our attention to events on

:27:17. > :27:19.table one. Last year's runner-up Barry Hawkins, celebrating his

:27:20. > :27:27.birthday today, taking on world number 31 Dave Gilbert. I am

:27:28. > :27:33.treating it as a job now, whereas I perhaps wasn't then. I was more

:27:34. > :27:37.part-time. Now I don't do anything else but play snooker. So it is

:27:38. > :27:43.definitely a full-time job. I am too busy to do anything else, really.

:27:44. > :27:47.Practising hard. I think my temperament has improved a little

:27:48. > :27:52.bit. There is still plenty to work on but, all of these tournaments we

:27:53. > :27:57.have now, you have to treated professionally and I am trying to

:27:58. > :28:01.get better with it as we go. Every match plays the balls, so you have

:28:02. > :28:06.to dig in, even if you are not feeling it, try your best in every

:28:07. > :28:10.game. I feel fresh and ready and, like I say, I have been practising

:28:11. > :28:14.really hard and I am ready to go. I don't know what will happen until I

:28:15. > :28:19.walk out there. I hope I can get a frame on board early, chill out and

:28:20. > :28:23.just enjoy it. If I play well, I feel like I can certainly win.

:28:24. > :28:28.People say I have nothing to lose but I certainly have. I am not here

:28:29. > :28:32.for a day out, I am here to try and win as many matches as I can. It is

:28:33. > :28:37.a massive challenge, he has got the final, he won the last tournament he

:28:38. > :28:41.played in, the PTC and I am sure he is as excited as me to be back,

:28:42. > :28:46.after the run last year. I will be proud, as I am in every match I play

:28:47. > :28:51.here and it doesn't faze me, I am looking forward to it. Barry Hawkins

:28:52. > :28:56.had a very slender lead over Dave Gilbert after yesterday's first

:28:57. > :29:00.session, Hawkins leading 5-4. We will show you what happened in frame

:29:01. > :29:10.ten, Gilbert is at the table, leading 19-3.

:29:11. > :29:19.JOHN VIRGO: He has not woken up yet. More concerned with trying to find

:29:20. > :29:25.the path of the cue ball, forgot about the pot.

:29:26. > :29:43.So this is playing right into Barry Hawkins' hands.

:29:44. > :30:21.Sometimes it's quite tricky to get decent position but that wasn't bad.

:30:22. > :30:44.The first frame of any session is always very important.

:30:45. > :30:47.The fact he's having a look round must mean he's come very straight on

:30:48. > :31:01.this pink. But he was just able to screw back

:31:02. > :31:02.and inch and lay it on to the right middle and play the pink for the

:31:03. > :31:15.left-centre. He certainly came of age last season

:31:16. > :31:19.when he reached the final of the World Championship. He lost out to

:31:20. > :31:23.Ronnie O'Sullivan but at one time, he looked as though he was going to

:31:24. > :31:32.be run over by Bonnie but he's stuck in there. There were times when you

:31:33. > :31:38.felt that he was maybe going to turn the match around.

:31:39. > :31:49.He finished up losing the final 18-12. He's become one of the more

:31:50. > :31:54.consistent and solid players on the circuit. He's up in the heady ranks

:31:55. > :32:05.of number four in the world now. Without a doubt over the last two or

:32:06. > :32:11.three seasons, one of the most improved players in the game. From

:32:12. > :32:15.being a player that used to hover around the top 16, as you say, now

:32:16. > :32:27.firmly established as one of the best players in the game.

:32:28. > :32:34.I've always said... I mean, not obviously, all the players who come

:32:35. > :32:38.in and get through to the Crucible Theatre, nobody doubts their

:32:39. > :32:43.ability. It's just about temperament, really. Can you do it

:32:44. > :32:47.on the big stage? Can you hold yourself together when it really

:32:48. > :32:51.matters? Barry's proved that and he's proved it to himself and that's

:32:52. > :33:36.why he's a very, very tough competitor.

:33:37. > :33:45.That was all he could do now. A slightly tricky pink. Didn't have to

:33:46. > :34:06.do a lot with the cue ball. That helps.

:34:07. > :34:11.33 points, the lead. Two reds, two colours would see him home in this

:34:12. > :34:23.first frame. And you could say a bonus,

:34:24. > :34:24.particularly with the three good opportunities that David Gilbert

:34:25. > :34:42.had. He's just having to sit and suffer.

:34:43. > :34:46.He knows he's had three opportunities that could, and maybe

:34:47. > :34:50.should, have won him his first frame, an important first frame,

:34:51. > :34:55.particularly as he started one frame behind. So if he wanted to level,

:34:56. > :35:01.this frame was very important to David. But he won't be getting the

:35:02. > :35:27.chance now. This pink to go 47 in front, with just 43 remaining.

:35:28. > :35:37.APPLAUSE Obviously feels by dropping to the

:35:38. > :35:43.top cushion he can just get past the black and, of course, if he pots

:35:44. > :35:55.this red, it will mean David Gilbert will not be coming for smokers. --

:35:56. > :35:56.snookers. He's taken these really well but on the other hand, lucky to

:35:57. > :36:08.get an opportunity. He does strike the cue ball with

:36:09. > :36:38.authority. He hits the ball well. Our sponsors Dafabet are giving ?100

:36:39. > :36:45.to a children's hospice in Sheffield for every century break that is made

:36:46. > :37:10.at the Crucible. A lovely gesture and a very worthy cause.

:37:11. > :37:27.These three colours for the century. And the ?100 for the charity.

:37:28. > :37:39.I'm sure the players are aware, so no exhibition shots here, Barry,

:37:40. > :37:47.just make certain this black... Oh! Well! What a shame. But David

:37:48. > :37:52.Gilbert had three chances and could only accrue 19 points. One chance

:37:53. > :37:59.for Barry Hawkins, a break of 93. Six - for.

:38:00. > :38:03.JASON MOHAMMAD: Barry Hawkins on his way to victory. Into the next we go,

:38:04. > :38:10.Gilbert on the table, 14 points behind.

:38:11. > :38:37.I don't think that plant was on when Barry Hawkins was at the table. It

:38:38. > :38:40.was probably on but couldn't go because of the red that he missed

:38:41. > :38:55.into the left corner. Awkward rows near the side cushion.

:38:56. > :38:59.-- awkward red. The yellow tight to the baulk cushion. A big ask to win

:39:00. > :39:27.the frame at this visit. Trying to screw the cue ball and

:39:28. > :39:44.disturb the red on the left cushion. If he pots the red, the problem is

:39:45. > :40:17.going to be the yellow. No, too thick. And playing at that

:40:18. > :40:24.pace, if he missed it, he was bound to leave it. But that yellow near

:40:25. > :40:30.the baulk cushion is going to be just as much a problem for Barry

:40:31. > :40:31.Hawkins, although David, you can see from his reaction, couldn't believe

:40:32. > :40:55.he missed that red. It isn't inch perfect, this. OK,

:40:56. > :40:57.he's on the green. But to get near the baulk cushion, you have to play

:40:58. > :41:50.with a lot of left-hand side. APPLAUSE

:41:51. > :41:55.He just had enough angle so that was a good shot from Barry Hawkins, who

:41:56. > :41:58.is now one point in front. He needs up to and including the pink to win

:41:59. > :42:28.the third frame of this morning's session.

:42:29. > :42:49.He's overdone not slightly. Didn't want to be using the rest.

:42:50. > :42:54.That's excellent. That really is excellent. So difficult with the

:42:55. > :43:01.rest to hit the cue ball in the middle when it dead straight shot

:43:02. > :43:04.that. This has been a very solid performance. Don't get me wrong, you

:43:05. > :43:08.always need a little bit of help from your opponent, and David

:43:09. > :43:13.Gilbert, particularly in the first frame, had three chances and didn't

:43:14. > :43:18.make the most of them. He's lost the first three frames and is now eight

:43:19. > :43:21.- 4 behind. JASON MOHAMMAD: As they head into

:43:22. > :43:25.the mid-session interval, Hawkins just needs one frame to book a place

:43:26. > :43:29.in the second round and would possibly meet Ricky Walden in the

:43:30. > :43:33.second round. The match we're focusing on right now is the one

:43:34. > :43:35.between Judd Trump and Tom Ford. Just before the mid-session

:43:36. > :43:40.interval, Judd Trump played a magnificent shot on the pink to seal

:43:41. > :43:45.that frame. Tom Ford will be genuinely kicking himself during the

:43:46. > :43:48.interval. The players are due back out and we will hand back over to

:43:49. > :43:52.our commentary team of Ken Doherty and Willie Thorne. I'm just

:43:53. > :43:56.wondering, Willie, whether that will play on the mind of Tom Ford.

:43:57. > :44:00.WILLIE THORNE: Judd Trump will be very relieved, getting frame 13

:44:01. > :44:04.under way. For all money, it looked like he was going to lose all of the

:44:05. > :44:10.opening frames to let Tom Ford draw level. Tom Ford played a very poor

:44:11. > :44:15.positional shot on the pink and had a pink to win the frame and missed

:44:16. > :44:21.it and we now have the scoreline of 7-5. The match should be on now. Tom

:44:22. > :44:29.should take a lot of positives out of that first session. The fact he

:44:30. > :44:31.lost that last frame I just hope doesn't throw him off feeling like

:44:32. > :45:57.he can win the match. There is a bit of mileage in

:45:58. > :46:00.bringing the pink into play because the red impact spot is going to

:46:01. > :46:07.cause a problem if he hits the black.

:46:08. > :46:13.Don't blame him for that. He needs a bit of good fortune but hasn't got

:46:14. > :46:18.it because that red has come to stop the black potting.

:46:19. > :46:27.The red comes out of the pack and goes right to the cushion to stop

:46:28. > :46:37.the black potting. I wonder, is the pink available to the right centre?

:46:38. > :47:37.Maybe if it is, it's a bonus. A great angle. Perfect.

:47:38. > :47:45.Is a possibility to bounce off the cushions and get onto the black in

:47:46. > :47:55.the same pocket. What did he do there? The signal from Tom would

:47:56. > :47:59.suggest that that was a bit of a twitch, as we say in the game. He

:48:00. > :48:06.was trying to, believe it or not, get onto the black in the same

:48:07. > :48:36.pocket. There you go. That's what happened.

:48:37. > :48:44.Well, it was a good attempt. He tried to kill the pace of the cue

:48:45. > :48:47.ball but he's not on that nicely. Too difficult. So a good safety

:48:48. > :49:04.required here. I was in the practice room in the

:49:05. > :49:14.mid-session interval and, as we said, Judd Trump was in there, it

:49:15. > :49:17.hitting a few balls. Fellow professional Adam Duffy, his good

:49:18. > :49:33.friend, was there. He looked pretty relaxed and he will

:49:34. > :49:38.have been a bit more relaxed after winning that last frame before the

:49:39. > :49:46.interval. Absolutely. It helped that Tom missed that pink.

:49:47. > :49:56.I've never seen him, in all the years I've been watching him, miss

:49:57. > :50:02.as many long shots as this. He's missing them by quite some way, as

:50:03. > :50:05.well. It's such a big part of his game, his long pot. It's amazing

:50:06. > :50:31.that he hasn't got it going today. Tom Wood love to get down to this

:50:32. > :50:33.red on the right of the black spot. If he gets onto that, it will be

:50:34. > :50:45.ideal for him. That looks good. What an excellent

:50:46. > :50:47.positional shot. The good thing about this is that it frees up the

:50:48. > :50:56.black spot. Pretty good. Will he go into the

:50:57. > :51:13.five reds? He's got a nice angle. Anywhere down into the middle of

:51:14. > :51:21.them would be perfect. Nice angle in the line, anywhere in the middle of

:51:22. > :51:21.the reds. And it just worked out a treat. Excellent shot!

:51:22. > :51:32.APPLAUSE He couldn't have played that any

:51:33. > :51:37.better. I can only presume he's shaking his head because he's not on

:51:38. > :51:40.the black nicely but the red that's to the right-hand corner, I'm sure

:51:41. > :51:45.he can just wobble it off the cushion.

:51:46. > :51:49.If he does get the black on its spot, he can certainly think about

:51:50. > :52:59.winning the frame at this visit. He seems to be getting a little

:53:00. > :53:00.upset and if you keep putting doubts in your mind, it's going to affect

:53:01. > :53:13.you eventually. Maybe he's just going to catch the

:53:14. > :53:19.red that's behind the black spot and that's why he's playing a screw

:53:20. > :53:31.shot. Any sort of case should be good. And it is. -- any sort of

:53:32. > :53:42.kiss. He is one of those players where you

:53:43. > :53:43.think that he isn't on the ball but then he still comes out with the

:53:44. > :54:02.pot. A little bit short of pace but he

:54:03. > :54:03.may have been fortunate. If it's dead onto the blue in the corner, he

:54:04. > :54:18.will be lucky. He's missed it! I can't believe it.

:54:19. > :54:19.That is one of the easiest shot. The blue dead straight into the green

:54:20. > :54:38.pocket. If Tom loses this frame, he made out

:54:39. > :54:44.himself too much to even consider himself winning the match. Whatever

:54:45. > :54:50.happens, he'll go home to Leicester and think about what should have

:54:51. > :55:44.been. This is a match he definitely had every chance of winning.

:55:45. > :55:51.He's given himself a little bit to do here with this black. And what a

:55:52. > :55:57.horrible kick. Horrible kick. Just shows you, when you're struggling,

:55:58. > :55:58.everything can go wrong. You play a bad positional shot, the snooker

:55:59. > :56:16.gods sometimes don't let you off. Tom Ford back to the table. 29

:56:17. > :56:17.points in front. Red, colour, red and he will close the gap again to

:56:18. > :56:38.one. Well done.

:56:39. > :57:20.APPLAUSE That is a great shot.

:57:21. > :57:53.APPLAUSE JASON MOHAMMAD: That match continues

:57:54. > :57:57.on the red button. Our time on BBC Two is almost up.

:57:58. > :58:02.Before we leave you, let's just take you to see Barry Hawkins taking on

:58:03. > :58:08.David Gilbert. A great morning's work for Hawkins. He is celebrating

:58:09. > :58:11.his birthday today. Dave Gilbert needs a snooker but it looks like

:58:12. > :58:21.it's all going to be over inside two hours. There was an excellent break

:58:22. > :58:24.of 93 and a place in the second round against Ricky Walden looking

:58:25. > :58:30.likely for Barry Hawkins. That's it from us on BBC Two for now but Hazel

:58:31. > :58:33.will be back at one o'clock on BBC Two with live coverage of Neil

:58:34. > :59:08.Robertson taking on Robbie Williams. Bye for now.

:59:09. > :59:10.If you like game shows with celebrities and exciting prizes,

:59:11. > :59:18.Duh-duh-duh... Saturday night with Rob Brydon.

:59:19. > :59:25.Ted, I... I'm not interested in coming to see Lady Gaga, sir.
