:00:35. > :00:42.Hello. Good afternoon. Welcome to the Crucible in Sheffield. It is day

:00:43. > :00:47.six of the 2016 World Snooker Championships. The second round gets

:00:48. > :00:50.underway today but there is still the little matter of unfinished

:00:51. > :00:51.first-round business with Judd Trump the latest big-name facing an early

:00:52. > :01:15.exit. 'S COMMENTATOR: So, that does end

:01:16. > :01:20.any hope of Stuart Bingham had of staying in this championship that he

:01:21. > :01:27.so gloriously won last year. It is overseen not nice to get

:01:28. > :01:28.beaten in the first round. I will remember it with the rest of my

:01:29. > :01:42.life. Brilliant shot. Snooker is a two-man

:01:43. > :01:45.sport. If that man plays better value on the day you have to shake

:01:46. > :01:57.their hand and wish them all the best.

:01:58. > :02:04.It's an emotional thing. I didn't know what was going to happen. I

:02:05. > :02:10.thought I would beat out from the game but it was a nice thing to do.

:02:11. > :02:14.My father passed away just before the World Championships. I still

:02:15. > :02:16.played in it. He was with me from the start. I thought I would finish

:02:17. > :02:49.this time. Once again, just made it look easy.

:02:50. > :02:54.He is through to the second round but could be fined by the governing

:02:55. > :03:05.body after refusing to fulfil his media commitments. Neil Robertson,

:03:06. > :03:11.sportsmen that he is, and keep warm handshake. Obviously gutted to go

:03:12. > :03:14.out of the World Championships but from a personal point of view I have

:03:15. > :03:24.nothing but praise for how he played. This debate Michael Holt by

:03:25. > :03:25.a break. 141. What a way to finish. Chants of

:03:26. > :03:55.a century. To make the century, he's going to

:03:56. > :04:17.need the awkward pink. Hang on, hang on! Yes! Unbelievable! Don't miss

:04:18. > :04:21.the blink. I just wanted to let the crowd note that I can still play

:04:22. > :04:26.this game. I can't deny I am not disappointed about the match. And

:04:27. > :04:35.what a performance from this Chinese player. He goes through to the next

:04:36. > :04:39.round. Well, Stephen, as the first round comes to a conclusion the sun

:04:40. > :04:44.is shining on the survivors so far, they can be mighty relieved.

:04:45. > :04:49.Definitely. Less top seeds seem to be able to get through the first

:04:50. > :04:56.round. That Best of 19, even though it is the longest match of the

:04:57. > :05:00.season for them, it is a banana skin. A lot of top players have

:05:01. > :05:05.seemed under pressure. Shaun Murphy, Neil Robertson, these were

:05:06. > :05:11.favourites for the title and they put themselves under real pressure.

:05:12. > :05:14.When they get to Best of 25, I remember thinking all of a sudden I

:05:15. > :05:21.can relax. You must have felt the same. The other side of the coin is

:05:22. > :05:31.with a longer match, you should be able to win it in two sessions. It

:05:32. > :05:35.is an absolutely gorgeous afternoon here in Sheffield. We off to our

:05:36. > :05:47.studio and this is what is coming up this afternoon. Beaten by Stuart

:05:48. > :05:51.Bingham in the semifinals last year, Judd Trump could go out this year in

:05:52. > :05:55.the first round. Years behind against the young Chinese star the

:05:56. > :06:07.eyeing Wenbo. Coming up on BBC Two. Marco Fu is

:06:08. > :06:17.making his 16th Crucible appearance. It ticks on Anthony McGill. I will

:06:18. > :06:22.try my best. I don't think about winning or losing the match. I will

:06:23. > :06:29.try my best with every shot and see where I went. Also a bit of fun as

:06:30. > :06:34.Mark Selby ticks on our daily challenge pop quiz.

:06:35. > :06:44.And it is a very special day today as the World Snooker disability day

:06:45. > :06:47.encouraging more people to play the sport. It is great to see so many of

:06:48. > :06:51.our guests enjoying the Crucible Theatre here in Sheffield today. As

:06:52. > :06:56.for Judd Trump you may not have good memories of the day. He faces a real

:06:57. > :07:06.chance to stay in the tournament. He trades that Michael trails Liang

:07:07. > :07:12.Wenbo by six frames to three. Judd Trump, the new kid on the block, to

:07:13. > :07:16.the winner 's podium at least Andy player perhaps best placed to make

:07:17. > :07:20.the most of the worldwide domination of snooker. He is only a young lad.

:07:21. > :07:25.Ten years ahead of him at the very least. Yeah, he has already been

:07:26. > :07:31.very successful. Great to watch. I love watching him play. Love

:07:32. > :07:39.commentating. He is one of those that entertained the crowd. He plays

:07:40. > :07:45.wonderful shops. Amazing cue power. A bit like Jimmy White in his

:07:46. > :07:53.heyday. The amount of shots macro he can play. He lost polling of the

:07:54. > :08:02.wonderful shots macro. He likes to give it a crack but that is naughty

:08:03. > :08:09.snooker. With all the bowled going at that pace they are going to go

:08:10. > :08:13.somewhere. A few years ago, it took me a while to work him out because

:08:14. > :08:19.he was so attacking. But nowadays he has coupled up with a very astute

:08:20. > :08:23.tactical safety style of play. If he wants to be can go toe to toe with

:08:24. > :08:31.anybody in any department of the game. He always seems a bit cramped

:08:32. > :08:37.up, doesn't he? He gets the ball and he gets some cue action into it. It

:08:38. > :08:45.is not like Ronnie O'Sullivan where it is nice and free-flowing. He

:08:46. > :08:51.stops and starts. He has got time on his side and he is always going to

:08:52. > :08:57.be there or thereabouts. You can see him at the World Championship for

:08:58. > :09:01.many years. As usual, trying to find a weakness in a player is very

:09:02. > :09:06.difficult in these top-class players and it would have been easy to say,

:09:07. > :09:12.you just outplay him tactically, perhaps you could before, that the

:09:13. > :09:18.poll seems to have been closed. So, where is his weakness? I think there

:09:19. > :09:24.are a couple of technical things in his game which may be under the most

:09:25. > :09:27.intense pressure might let him down. Quite a lot of body movement on the

:09:28. > :09:34.strike which he wouldn't necessarily teach. At the address position he

:09:35. > :09:46.cues up across the bowled. On the backswing as he, he has two -- self

:09:47. > :09:52.correct. They are the days that he misses shots that you couldn't

:09:53. > :09:59.believe he would miss. He has to keep winning because those cards and

:10:00. > :10:05.shoes are expensive. Trump's opponent Liang Wenbo reached the

:10:06. > :10:10.final of the UK championship beating trump on the way but he lost to Neil

:10:11. > :10:18.Robertson. I want you to cast your mind back to 2008. Got his walk on

:10:19. > :10:28.mixed up largely because of nerves. Certainly knows his way around now.

:10:29. > :10:38.If he wins today, he will set up an old China clash. Against Ding

:10:39. > :10:44.Junhui. Judd Trump the second highest seed left in the turnaround.

:10:45. > :10:55.Trailing 6-3. Looks from Michael become. That's join Rob Walker. Our

:10:56. > :11:01.MC. After a cheeky lie in we are ready and pumped to go again at the

:11:02. > :11:05.Crucible. The drive by the quarterfinals begins in earnest but

:11:06. > :11:08.also some first-round matches to finish. This is basics here at the

:11:09. > :11:32.bet red World Snooker Championship. Please welcome a player who was

:11:33. > :11:37.brilliant on his debut last year and he has been brilliant so far this

:11:38. > :11:40.year beating world number three and former world champion Shaun Murphy

:11:41. > :11:44.in the first round with another nerveless display of snooker. We

:11:45. > :11:46.finally come up with a nickname for this guy, he is the giant killer

:11:47. > :12:13.Anthony McGill. And his opponent, a player still

:12:14. > :12:17.going strong 17 years after his debut here, semifinalist in 2006,

:12:18. > :12:21.this is his seventh appearance in the second round here. Here after

:12:22. > :12:24.victory against Peter Ebdon he is and has been one of the most

:12:25. > :12:26.important and mustard for the sport around the world, the pride of Hong

:12:27. > :12:54.Kong, it is Marco Fu. APPLAUSE. And on table one and please welcome

:12:55. > :12:58.the most charismatic Chinese player on tour. Quarterfinalist back in his

:12:59. > :13:02.debut in 2008. This time he will remember the right time to emerge.

:13:03. > :13:06.It has been a great season with a man who made his debut at the

:13:07. > :13:12.Masters. What a run to the final of the UK championship. He wears his

:13:13. > :13:13.heart on his sleeve so please welcome Liang Wenbo, the

:13:14. > :13:36.firecracker. APPLAUSE. And finally, the most exciting

:13:37. > :13:40.player of his generation. Finalist here five years ago, he arrives here

:13:41. > :13:44.fresh after those victories in the championship lead and at the China

:13:45. > :13:48.open. He will be so pumped up for this massive session of snooker

:13:49. > :14:07.because he is the ace in the pack, he is Judd Trump! APPLAUSE.

:14:08. > :14:18.STUDIO: The second round getting underway. This is on the red button,

:14:19. > :14:22.BBC Sport Online and the BBC Sport up. We will see whether Judd Trump

:14:23. > :14:31.can reach the second round. This is the first round. In the company of

:14:32. > :14:36.John Virgo and Willie Thorne. COMMENTATOR: Yes, thank you, Jason.

:14:37. > :14:46.Judd Trump gets this second session underway. And you feel, Willie,

:14:47. > :14:56.imperative, that he gets a good start. A bit of a mountain to climb.

:14:57. > :15:01.To be just the one behind going into the second session. A very impressed

:15:02. > :15:05.with the weight Liang Wenbo started yesterday. Never missed a ball.

:15:06. > :15:20.Every safety shot was virtually behind the yellow. He made of the

:15:21. > :15:27.two centuries. Judd one frames very quickly those two centuries he made.

:15:28. > :15:31.Judd in those first two frames. He doesn't want a repeat of that. It

:15:32. > :15:48.has been quickfire smoker. I watched a little bit of the match

:15:49. > :15:56.from the other side of the arena and they weren't refusing anything. It

:15:57. > :15:57.is a dangerous way to play the game. It is fine when you win but you look

:15:58. > :16:18.silly when you don't. He can't afford any mistakes this

:16:19. > :16:24.morning. Mariel Bernie a great amateur used to say you have to give

:16:25. > :16:25.ability a chance, if you go for outrageous shots all the time you're

:16:26. > :16:34.not being their durability. Both players trying to get the first

:16:35. > :17:03.opening here. There is no shots that is easy once

:17:04. > :17:19.you get it close to the commission like that. -- cushion.

:17:20. > :17:50.He can possibly look at this. The ones near the black.

:17:51. > :17:59.He has found the condition. Very close.

:18:00. > :18:19.Just a little bit short of pace. The black will go to the right corner,

:18:20. > :18:25.but that's straight red -- won't go. Doesn't have to do a lot with the

:18:26. > :18:28.cue ball. It is dangerous, because if you miss it, it could be leaving

:18:29. > :18:39.quite a bit. He is a confident young man.

:18:40. > :18:56.He could they be won by the commission but he is taking

:18:57. > :19:18.He played it so it was a shot from nothing. He has decided to play it

:19:19. > :19:34.back to baulk. He was unlucky for the colour, but what a shot. Two or

:19:35. > :19:39.three pots. Like that in the first match. There were a few unbelievable

:19:40. > :19:57.balls yesterday. That is one possible escape route.

:19:58. > :20:01.It doesn't want to hit it too hard. He is playing for the reds in the

:20:02. > :20:15.middle of the table. Played it well. Good shot. The reason he didn't want

:20:16. > :20:16.to risk playing for the reds, if he had slipped past it, he would have

:20:17. > :20:45.left a pot on. Asked to avoid the kiss on the red

:20:46. > :21:02.and the blue. -- has to do. That is pretty good.

:21:03. > :21:11.Another of short to get this back to baulk.

:21:12. > :21:29.Just about made it. That was a big target that he had to avoid. He will

:21:30. > :21:36.be pleased with that one. Possibilities of a plant here. He

:21:37. > :21:50.will make it into a three-ball plant. The two raids together are

:21:51. > :21:56.set for the left jaw of the pocket. Because the third red is going to

:21:57. > :22:02.hit the first one on the right hand side, it will turn it over. The

:22:03. > :22:03.reversed plant. It will go very close to going into the pocket,

:22:04. > :22:20.this. The problem was, and I am certainly

:22:21. > :22:32.he was intending this, he couldn't avoid the red on the side. He turned

:22:33. > :22:45.it too much. First real chance for Judd Trump in a frame he really

:22:46. > :22:49.wants to win. He would have liked to be a bit more straight on this

:22:50. > :23:23.thread. -- read. Can Judd I can say, he would have

:23:24. > :23:37.liked to have been straighter on this. He would have liked to have

:23:38. > :23:44.been high on it, so he would be just to right of black. Maybe he can

:23:45. > :23:54.still play to the red that is closest to the cue ball now. No, he

:23:55. > :24:01.didn't fancy it. That's not the best positional shot he's ever played.

:24:02. > :24:12.Over a run it by about six or seven inches.

:24:13. > :24:22.This will be tough to get onto a colour. I wouldn't risk playing with

:24:23. > :24:40.the black. He will do well to avoid raids to

:24:41. > :25:06.get onto How did that go in? He mis-hit that

:25:07. > :25:20.completely. Took all the pace of the cue ball. Has the green con to his

:25:21. > :25:28.rescue? It hasn't. That is careless. The yellow ran into the red and it

:25:29. > :25:34.has run on. You just can't drop your guard for a moment. The red was

:25:35. > :25:38.pretty safe but the yellow has knocked it on and there is a gap

:25:39. > :26:27.between green and brown. Gift of a chance.

:26:28. > :26:40.It is all about trying to get onto the black with the pink as quickly

:26:41. > :26:41.as possible. This opening frame is big particularly for Judd Trump. He

:26:42. > :27:55.made that careless safety. There is still a few red, but as

:27:56. > :28:10.Willie said, they are all covering one another.

:28:11. > :28:29.If you are having a bad day, the pink full in the face... He has

:28:30. > :28:34.split the pink. He has knocked it out of commission. Is there a gap

:28:35. > :28:51.with this red? There is always a gap. But can he

:28:52. > :29:26.get back through the gap? A decent chance. The reds were

:29:27. > :29:39.slightly awkward. He is eyeing this blew up.

:29:40. > :29:59.That was good. Got up and let the noise abates slightly.

:30:00. > :30:08.He is becoming a dangerous player Liang Wenbo. I was impressed late

:30:09. > :30:18.last year until the nitty-gritty when he got into some trouble

:30:19. > :30:23.cueing. He has shown over if your creations -- over a few occasions

:30:24. > :30:26.what he can do. Judd Trump said he would never miss a ball and I would

:30:27. > :30:32.not say that about a player just before I was going to play them. A

:30:33. > :30:40.great shot on the blue. A lot of pressure on it. The side bar telling

:30:41. > :30:52.if he gets to 60 points he will be in the snooker is required stage.

:30:53. > :30:59.Just wondering if I screw the white ball back and inch will be up to pot

:31:00. > :31:06.the one to be from the black, if he does he can open every one up. He

:31:07. > :31:14.can play on the Czech side and still get the black.

:31:15. > :31:21.A bit of side to straighten it up off the cushion.

:31:22. > :31:31.Played it well, you have to be very precisely that when you put side on.

:31:32. > :31:43.On these superfine coughs. -- clots. 20 points to lead -- the lead.

:31:44. > :31:54.He was reluctant to play the one below the black and he did not get

:31:55. > :32:01.it is hard enough so maybe he can get the gap in between the red and

:32:02. > :32:06.pink to get on the black. Precise positional shot needed here. He

:32:07. > :32:07.played it well, it's nearly went wrong and he nearly flicked the

:32:08. > :32:22.second red unintentionally. It is amazing how the red to the

:32:23. > :32:34.right of the black has been creating problems throughout the frame and to

:32:35. > :32:37.stillbirth. -- still there. Across the face of the pink and the red to

:32:38. > :32:42.get the black in the same pocket again. 35 point lead. Two roads will

:32:43. > :33:18.be enough. -- reds. Developed the red this time so pot

:33:19. > :33:30.this and go 44 ahead with 43 remaining.

:33:31. > :33:35.Judd Trump has been sat like that ever since he played the safety shot

:33:36. > :33:49.of the yellow. I have said it many times, I know

:33:50. > :33:54.you agree, the thing with this game is you cannot drop your card for the

:33:55. > :33:58.second. Any ball game. He played that straightforward safety off the

:33:59. > :34:03.yellow and never thought about the red. What the players to is almost

:34:04. > :34:10.be disappointed to play a safety shot. The frame is an over yet but

:34:11. > :34:15.barring snooker 's Liang would take the first frame of the session. That

:34:16. > :34:25.was careless to Mr brown and he knows it. -- miss the brown.

:34:26. > :34:33.34 remaining but one snooker all if Judd can pot the black he is certain

:34:34. > :34:42.to get a snooker on the road near the pink. Could that be a turning

:34:43. > :34:53.point? Could that be the lifeline that Judd Trump was looking for?

:34:54. > :34:57.Certain to get the snooker. The tighter he can get the cue ball to

:34:58. > :35:09.the pink, the more difficult it will be.

:35:10. > :35:23.Surely he has got the snooker. He's missed the snooker.

:35:24. > :35:31.Why did he not stun it and get the red near the black to make it

:35:32. > :35:39.difficult snooker anyway? You cannot believe that shot he has played.

:35:40. > :35:47.Compounded by the fact that Liang Wenbo has potted an unbelievable

:35:48. > :35:55.road. Didn't look at a ball. -- look cuttable. Great shot but he should

:35:56. > :36:03.never have had the opportunity to go for it. That is two chances Judd

:36:04. > :36:10.Trump has had to put Liang Wenbo in some trouble. And he has missed them

:36:11. > :36:14.both. Poor safety and he should have had a snooker there. No more chances

:36:15. > :36:33.for Judd Trump. He's missed the green but it doesn't

:36:34. > :36:40.matter. Whatever slim chance Judd Trump hard, Liang Wenbo wins that

:36:41. > :36:46.very important first frame, he is now front 7-3.

:36:47. > :36:50.STUDIO: Road on Monday evening Judd Trump tweeted the show need begins

:36:51. > :36:54.after Sheffield. You just wonder if he will be back. He will not be the

:36:55. > :37:00.first top seed falling short of eight rate qualifier. Liang Wenbo is

:37:01. > :37:04.one of the tougher draws and he is such a strong player. You don't need

:37:05. > :37:07.much of a chance against him and we saw when Judd Trump played the

:37:08. > :37:11.safety shot on the yellow, it's looked like he was dumping the ball

:37:12. > :37:16.into the bottom half of the table. But only just wobbled and went in

:37:17. > :37:19.and a few players complaining that the pockets are on the big side in

:37:20. > :37:26.this tournament and making the game too easy. That'll be interesting to

:37:27. > :37:36.see if it is borne out. This shot here, he plays the yellow, white or

:37:37. > :37:42.down in the baulk and. Not a good cue ball either. The one thing we

:37:43. > :37:47.noticed with the run of Liang Wenbo in the UK championship was his

:37:48. > :37:51.composure. Composure and he is confident player. That was borne out

:37:52. > :37:55.when Stephen predicted in the studio he would go for the blue

:37:56. > :38:01.full-blooded Lee. This is fabulous. There is a lot of pressure out there

:38:02. > :38:06.and he just went down and struck to Tim. He is the type of character who

:38:07. > :38:11.does not seem to feel pressure like others do. At this stage Judd Trump

:38:12. > :38:17.Asti win the next frame? He does and has two home that Liang Wenbo gets

:38:18. > :38:22.clinches disease when he gets close to the finish line. Most players

:38:23. > :38:26.struggle fractionally but Liang Wenbo is a difficult character. I

:38:27. > :38:34.think he needs all three here. COMMENTATOR: I totally agree with

:38:35. > :38:40.both of the guys there and he does sometimes have clinches disease

:38:41. > :38:45.Liang Wenbo. Has had it a few times, he has been in a position to win

:38:46. > :38:49.over top players and failed to get over the line but this year he's

:38:50. > :38:54.very well and he knows it. Stephen Hendrie suggested that he has two

:38:55. > :39:05.when the remaining three saying to the Mac frames.

:39:06. > :39:09.The thing is if you ask Stephen a question you know you will get an

:39:10. > :39:26.answer. He has played this coming around of

:39:27. > :39:32.two cushions to try to clip the red, I think if you did nestle in the

:39:33. > :39:36.back of the class that you would not leave too much but if he is playing

:39:37. > :39:41.the two-cushion escape with pacey has one more go at its. The reason

:39:42. > :39:45.being is because he can clearly hit reds and we know the rules. If you

:39:46. > :39:56.can clearly get through to read and you miss it twice, you forfeit the

:39:57. > :40:04.frame. He has hit it. Much too thick. What has he left? So

:40:05. > :40:08.dangerous to play. If you play ten times you get it's right around

:40:09. > :40:14.seven, on one of the three occasions that you hit it too thick. And when

:40:15. > :40:17.you are tied to the cushion. You like to play that with a bit of side

:40:18. > :40:27.and he couldn't put side so played its plane. This red goes.

:40:28. > :40:35.Judd Trump is in big big trouble now. When he left that you could see

:40:36. > :40:40.him with his hand on his head. He is fearing the worst at the moment. He

:40:41. > :40:49.needs chances. There is his reaction. The thing is he has been

:40:50. > :40:58.playing in every department at the moment, he is just not competing.

:40:59. > :41:04.You have to give every credit to Liang Wenbo. He certainly has come

:41:05. > :41:19.of age the season. That one sounded a bit funny. I

:41:20. > :41:30.don't know if it was a bit of a bad contact. He just twitched. That is

:41:31. > :41:34.what we were talking about. He got a bit excited here thinking he can win

:41:35. > :41:50.the match in the first session. OK Joad, as they are. -- Judd.

:41:51. > :42:39.Liang Wenbo. Did not expect him to miss that one.

:42:40. > :42:49.A little surprised he has played for this red.

:42:50. > :42:57.That is why I am saying that because when playing well he is 7-3 behind,

:42:58. > :43:07.why would you play for a red near the cushion until you get the

:43:08. > :43:12.stroke? Can only assume that was the only red he felt comfortable he

:43:13. > :43:21.could get out. All of those fractions at the moment. There is a

:43:22. > :43:28.red which go into the right middle. -- which will go.

:43:29. > :43:41.Played it well. He's left the cue ball close to the side cushion

:43:42. > :43:44.because he wanted to play this in a way where the only red he could

:43:45. > :43:50.leave was the one he was playing so not perfect on the black. I wouldn't

:43:51. > :44:01.expect him to miss it but he is not perfect.

:44:02. > :44:19.Just about how the cue ball for the red to the right centre. -- held.

:44:20. > :44:23.Another miss when he was said but I think this time he has gotten away

:44:24. > :44:42.with it. Could have been straight on the red,

:44:43. > :44:47.it could have been a formality. Judd in a bit of a quandary here. You

:44:48. > :44:56.cannot afford to leave a path to the red for the corner so to me he has

:44:57. > :45:26.two trickle off the road. That is as best as he could be.

:45:27. > :45:43.Judd can certainly gain the advantage now. Didn't hear the

:45:44. > :45:49.referee called touching ball. A bit careless there because he has given

:45:50. > :45:54.him the opportunity to go off the cushion and hit the road from behind

:45:55. > :46:00.but he may be worried about leaving the red near the pocket that he

:46:01. > :46:14.could certainly snooker him. Decided on something else.

:46:15. > :46:25.That should be under stalemate. A formality now because Judd can play

:46:26. > :46:31.this red. The red both players were frightened of leaving, he is looking

:46:32. > :46:40.to see if it'll go into the far left corner pocket. That would be some

:46:41. > :47:33.parts. -- pot. He knew it would be reasonably safe.

:47:34. > :47:40.It just shows you how the balls can dictate how a frame is played out.

:47:41. > :47:45.Neither of these players like this type of game and they are usually

:47:46. > :47:53.going for the pots and trying to make frame-winning contributions.

:47:54. > :48:00.The balls are now dictating, they are now trying to force errors from

:48:01. > :48:02.opponents to gain an opportunity. And it may take a few shots for that

:48:03. > :49:37.to happen. Just at the moments you feel that

:49:38. > :49:42.Liang Wenbo has control of the safety situation because he is the

:49:43. > :49:49.one who can put the cue ball by the top position. If he gets it tight

:49:50. > :49:51.and there is not a lot that Judd can do about it, all he can then do is

:49:52. > :50:09.roll into the reds. And the fact it is touching ball

:50:10. > :50:15.makes it easier. For Wenbo to come off the site cushion. He is looking

:50:16. > :50:21.to see if he can get the snooker but he won't risk getting tight behind

:50:22. > :50:27.the black. The main priority is getting the cue ball tied to the top

:50:28. > :50:34.cushion. If it gets snug with the black then all well and good. He

:50:35. > :50:54.could have done better than that. 6.5 minutes of play without a ball

:50:55. > :50:57.being potted because of the safety exchange. Sometimes the game

:50:58. > :51:34.dictates what you can do. I don't know if you can cue it but

:51:35. > :51:39.his left double, there is one to the extreme left. That is the doubling

:51:40. > :51:43.ball but he needs to be able to stunning and as you can see it is

:51:44. > :51:53.almost touching the reds and that will not happen. There will be no

:51:54. > :52:03.question of a re-rack here. If Liang Wenbo does not get this tight then

:52:04. > :52:08.there is a chance for Judd. And probably needed to bounce. The red

:52:09. > :52:14.is available. The one next to the left in the far corner. If he was

:52:15. > :52:16.playing it he would like to be coming back to the black and he just

:52:17. > :52:26.cannot get enough action onto the cue ball. He is looking to hit the

:52:27. > :52:31.road onto the pink and pink onto the red and as the red go in the middle?

:52:32. > :52:41.Hard to say from here. Doesn't look like it. But you see it differently

:52:42. > :52:43.when you're down there. It wasn't far away but where will the cube

:52:44. > :53:04.will finish? Just about safe. Isa, that cluster of pinko overnight

:53:05. > :53:23.if he can get through to the right-hand

:53:24. > :53:35.9.5 minutes coming up since the last ball was potted.

:53:36. > :53:52.As he snookers Wenbo -- has he? He has. For the first time in this

:53:53. > :54:16.tactical exchange you have to say advantage Judd Trump.

:54:17. > :54:24.As long as he plays its low enough, this is a case of if he plays it too

:54:25. > :54:38.hard he can push a red to another pocket. Has he hit it a fraction too

:54:39. > :54:45.hard? Be very jabbing. Will have to try to get some spend. The referee

:54:46. > :54:53.will be keeping a close eye on this but it is a chance. Just that one

:54:54. > :54:57.lapse from Liang Wenbo where he did not get Judd tied to the cushion and

:54:58. > :55:09.allowed him to get the upper hand in the safety battle. That's unlucky.

:55:10. > :55:15.How much reaction he got being so close screwing the ball back to

:55:16. > :55:18.feet, a brilliant shot. You could not believe, you would think he

:55:19. > :55:20.would have the cannon perfectly on one of these two reds that he could

:55:21. > :55:36.not have gone more awkward. It's just about the only kiss the

:55:37. > :55:46.way it has turned out, any other case would have for reds. Playing a

:55:47. > :55:57.safety shot but has to get that cue ball tied on the back cushion.

:55:58. > :56:03.Cannot afford to leave a pot in the middle.

:56:04. > :56:13.You have the cushion. I know it was disappointing but that

:56:14. > :56:30.disappointment seemed to creep into his next shot. But it has to be

:56:31. > :56:43.said. That was very unfortunate. The safety shot is just as important on

:56:44. > :57:04.a -- as a part. He is four inches away from the cushion.

:57:05. > :57:14.Yes he has not run far enough. If it had gone another foot he would have

:57:15. > :57:27.the choice of blue or pink. That is the virtual image. He has had a look

:57:28. > :57:41.at the Green believe it or not. He is a shotmaker.

:57:42. > :58:01.Playing the double. So close. I won't say it was wrong, it was his

:58:02. > :59:02.choice. And now Judd Trump gets another opportunity.

:59:03. > :59:20.This would be a real bonus for Judd. Has needed three chances to score

:59:21. > :59:22.enough to win the frame. He needs to get to 66 so another 14 points from

:59:23. > :59:44.here. We were talking at the start of the

:59:45. > :59:50.session about the type of shots both players will take on. I won't be too

:59:51. > :59:57.critical of Liang Wenbo because a double like that, you fancy him.

:59:58. > :00:00.Odds are in his favour to get it. If you stunted tint you have more

:00:01. > :00:05.control of the double rather than running it in. Very rarely play runs

:00:06. > :00:13.through doubles. Only a fraction out. If it had gone in he probably

:00:14. > :00:24.would have won the frame. Once it didn't, it costed him. Judd 34

:00:25. > :00:28.points lead, don't know what ankle he has on the yellow book personally

:00:29. > :00:40.if he doesn't have the right angle I would put the green coming across.

:00:41. > :00:57.Just want this cue ball to bounce a touch. If he plays for the brown, he

:00:58. > :01:05.will need red brown and one more red.

:01:06. > :01:19.They are always tricky. The cue ball can always just shift away. It is a

:01:20. > :01:54.golden opportunity that has gone. I don't think there is a gap to get

:01:55. > :02:03.to the red next to the brown. I think even if he did get past the

:02:04. > :02:07.blue, you would rather just nestle up to these. He has got 837 point

:02:08. > :02:31.lead. -- 37. It has been a tactical

:02:32. > :02:38.battle. Not over yet. 37 behind, 51 on, but not really because you won't

:02:39. > :02:57.be playing blacks with those raids. -- reds.

:02:58. > :03:16.Once again, there is no way he can get distance, the only thing is,

:03:17. > :03:30.looking at this, got to be careful. Able to avoid the green but just

:03:31. > :03:38.short of pace. No reason not to have it back. The line that Judd had, he

:03:39. > :03:41.could knock this red that he nearly hits, he could knock it on to a

:03:42. > :04:07.potting position. That's where it was. It is

:04:08. > :04:15.important, because he has got to play this of two-cushions.

:04:16. > :04:36.Foul. No reason why Liang Wenbo won't have this replaced. As soon as

:04:37. > :04:39.he hit it, he knew. He is being warned now by the referee that he

:04:40. > :05:00.can clearly hit the ball. It used to be the rule you had to

:05:01. > :05:09.fit both sides -- hit. It doesn't have to hit it too hard. Thank

:05:10. > :05:23.goodness for that. I don't like the rule anyway, but has he left the

:05:24. > :05:32.possibility of a pot. That would be a little unfortunate. It is on. He

:05:33. > :05:36.will be on the brown if it goes in which makes him easier to go onto

:05:37. > :05:54.the next red but then the trouble starts.

:05:55. > :06:06.An awful lot to do but that was an excellent shot and he is on the

:06:07. > :06:20.brown. This to me could be eg shot of the frame. Pretty straight. --

:06:21. > :06:35.the key. He will probably screw back to the brown onto the middle.

:06:36. > :06:51.He tried to make more of an ankle and he did OK. -- angle. It's that

:06:52. > :07:03.very hard. Where is the yellow ball going? Judd Trump will be relieved.

:07:04. > :07:08.Let's have a look at what happens to this yellow. Didn't quite get the

:07:09. > :07:22.back of the pocket. From me that was the right shot but

:07:23. > :07:34.he's not played it very well. You have to get the red safe. But it too

:07:35. > :07:39.hard. Chance of a pot. You know this young man isn't going to refuse

:07:40. > :07:51.them. When you give him a chance, you risk losing the frame. 70% long

:07:52. > :08:03.pot success. You always think about 66% is about right.

:08:04. > :08:14.When you play then you tend to air on the side of hitting too thin. A

:08:15. > :08:32.chance now for Judd Trump. 23 points they lead. Good solid part. -- pot.

:08:33. > :08:36.The green will put him 27 points in front. Still 27 left so he needs the

:08:37. > :09:33.yellow. It should be a formality. Trump made a break of 33 earlier on.

:09:34. > :09:43.The rest has been bits and pieces but that would worry him. -- won't

:09:44. > :09:47.worry him. He may go out for a breather after that but it is a

:09:48. > :09:56.frame that could have gone either way.

:09:57. > :10:00.STUDIO: Judd Trump definitely needed that and we talked earlier about the

:10:01. > :10:06.composure of Liang Wenbo but he didn't need to play that double on

:10:07. > :10:13.the green. When you have got the guy on the ropes do you give him an easy

:10:14. > :10:23.chance? It wasn't the easiest safety shot in the world. Mark Allen has

:10:24. > :10:29.joined us. Good afternoon. He made an interesting comment earlier. A

:10:30. > :10:33.lot of players talked about the size of the pockets. 33 centuries this

:10:34. > :10:45.year. Liang Wenbo has already made two in this much. A record-breaking

:10:46. > :10:51.year. 15 by qualifiers. Players playing well or big pockets. A few

:10:52. > :10:58.players are saying that it is oversized and perhaps it is a great

:10:59. > :11:02.leveller. Also we have had the cloth recovered every two days which makes

:11:03. > :11:14.the table play even better. When you have good conditions, players such

:11:15. > :11:22.as John Higgins, give players good conditions, like golfers, they will

:11:23. > :11:29.score a good scores. Two templates to fit the corner pockets. This

:11:30. > :11:33.first template, this has to be pushed in and has got to be snug.

:11:34. > :11:37.That goes on like that. The other thing that can make a difference to

:11:38. > :11:42.the size is the undercutting, how much rubber is underneath. This

:11:43. > :11:47.particular template isn't as high and that goes in and text the

:11:48. > :11:51.undercutting. Also the fall of the set is exactly the right place. You

:11:52. > :11:57.can push this in and it can be snug or extra snug or a little bit loose.

:11:58. > :12:06.It is a fine dividing line and the cable figures had to get it right. I

:12:07. > :12:11.haven't noticed much of a difference. I understand they had to

:12:12. > :12:17.be more generous on the whole soap they could be this week definitely.

:12:18. > :12:21.Or players could be getting better. This is all about competitive

:12:22. > :12:26.smoker. It is, but I don't think it needs too much of a difference

:12:27. > :12:32.between it being a fraction different for the top players for it

:12:33. > :12:36.to be the shot to go for or not. If the pockets seem tight they might

:12:37. > :12:42.not get to kick it on or they might go for it. They might play more

:12:43. > :12:46.along the commissions than they are used to. Usually at this stage there

:12:47. > :12:51.are some complaints about the players about how the tables are

:12:52. > :12:56.playing any concerns yet? I am not one to complain. And that is why we

:12:57. > :13:02.love you. The conditions have been poor for me. I know the pockets have

:13:03. > :13:08.been a bit bigger but overall the cloth and cushions up in very poor.

:13:09. > :13:13.Who do you fancy in this much? I don't really care. I think judgment

:13:14. > :13:30.might do a bit better. -- Judd. COMMENTATOR: Well, Liang Wenbo at

:13:31. > :13:33.the cable. Terrific opening red just about ended up on the yellow. --

:13:34. > :13:58.table. Good chance to score heavy. A few loose threads to play for

:13:59. > :14:15.without going into the cluster. -- reds.

:14:16. > :14:31.Tried to play it hard enough to freeze up but red but I don't think

:14:32. > :14:43.it enough. You'll be playing for two reds at the time there.

:14:44. > :14:52.He has got to think about disturbing them sooner rather than later if he

:14:53. > :14:56.is going to have any thoughts of a frame-winning contribution. 68

:14:57. > :15:11.points the side bar says he needs to get to.

:15:12. > :16:16.The referee just asking to hold on while he checks the spot.

:16:17. > :16:23.The red in the middle looks perfect to get onto the black. The way the

:16:24. > :16:38.pink has gone it is not a bad ball to it. Just came a fraction too far

:16:39. > :16:43.down. Inch further to the left would have almost been a poignant ball. --

:16:44. > :16:56.playing ball. This could be the key to the frame

:16:57. > :17:08.if this goes right. Like hitting a brick wall. Amazing, when it is

:17:09. > :17:38.tightly packed like that. Judd trying to get in and trying to

:17:39. > :17:45.cover that part of the red with the yellow. If he can find it tied to

:17:46. > :17:53.the cushion which he has done it wasn't that imperative he covered

:17:54. > :18:10.the red it. It is a good shot. He has decided to play this himself

:18:11. > :18:21.here. Courted much too thick. -- caught it.

:18:22. > :18:32.A telling safety shot could get him right back into the frame. If he

:18:33. > :18:43.decides to play one, it is very important. Must find that top

:18:44. > :18:56.cushion and put him under pressure. Decided to play the double.

:18:57. > :19:14.It is a meaning when you stand them in how much more controlled you have

:19:15. > :19:18.over doubles. -- amazing. Due care and attention needed here.

:19:19. > :19:23.A little bit tentative and that is why he has not got the right side of

:19:24. > :19:39.the blue. That is where his tremendous cue

:19:40. > :19:54.power comes in. Not many players can play that shot. Big chance this for

:19:55. > :20:21.Judd. Very important he kicks it. 30 points behind. -- clicks it.

:20:22. > :20:32.The first 50 or 60 points in a break are normally the easiest. What a

:20:33. > :21:02.great chance this is to get back into the match.

:21:03. > :21:13.I don't really know why he wanted to screw back there. There was a red to

:21:14. > :21:18.the opposite corner. It is unlucky, but just rolling it in would have

:21:19. > :21:23.been just as good for me. Being left-handed this isn't too much of a

:21:24. > :21:31.problem. You just have to do a little bit with the cue ball. You

:21:32. > :21:45.might have two glance of the red next to it. He has knocked a red

:21:46. > :21:50.near the top cushion and we know they can be

:21:51. > :22:31.That puts Judd Trump four points in front. A couple of big shots coming

:22:32. > :22:44.up now. It looks to have landed absolutely perfect on the black.

:22:45. > :22:59.He tried to move it. Because it wasn't a natural cannon, he tried to

:23:00. > :23:04.stun and make it. Those are tough when they were just of the cushion.

:23:05. > :23:15.He now has to concentrate on playing a good safety. If it misses the

:23:16. > :23:27.brown it is an excellent safety. The brown comes to Liang Wenbo's rescue.

:23:28. > :24:02.Has he left the same gap as Judd did? Not this time. The old adage,

:24:03. > :24:13.it is not hitting it, it is getting it safe. In his eyes he has got away

:24:14. > :24:24.with it. But the disappointment behind you, because you have to hit

:24:25. > :24:40.the red and get it safe. Go past the yellow with a tonne of left-hand

:24:41. > :24:44.side. It well he has played it well. We can shake our heads sometimes and

:24:45. > :24:57.think we have been a bit unlucky but you never know what the next shop

:24:58. > :25:04.will bring. -- shot. He would love to but distance between them.

:25:05. > :25:26.He will do well to miss the black. He has played it so bad it is

:25:27. > :25:33.untrue. Foul and a miss. That is a schoolboy error. Judd knows you have

:25:34. > :25:46.to give these type of pop 's extra care. But he played it well. It is a

:25:47. > :25:59.tough black and there is pressure on. Well played. He needs to miss

:26:00. > :26:10.the blue and he has done. Just the yellow to go 26 ahead with 25

:26:11. > :26:22.remaining. Looks certain now to pull another frame back. Another frame

:26:23. > :26:25.that could have gone either way. We always say you need to win frames in

:26:26. > :26:45.one visit. Only 22 remaining. He will be

:26:46. > :27:12.sitting more comfortable now. Frame conceded. He concedes. Judd

:27:13. > :27:15.Trump TfL four behind is now back to two. One more frame to play before

:27:16. > :27:21.the mid-session interval. 7-5 Liang Wenbo.

:27:22. > :27:27.STUDIO: Such a long tournament. You will find yourself in tricky

:27:28. > :27:33.situation and get out of trouble. Judd with doing that. He just needs

:27:34. > :27:41.to win the frame is however possible. A fascinating situation

:27:42. > :27:46.with three reds on the table. Judd Trump is over the ball. In

:27:47. > :27:55.commentary they were talking about the cushion. That is the shot I

:27:56. > :28:03.would have played. He was perfect to get close to the red. He was perfect

:28:04. > :28:06.on the black. In the end he got up a position of trying to knock the red

:28:07. > :28:15.of the commission. He could have lost the frame. -- cushion. You have

:28:16. > :28:21.to make things as easy as possible to clear up. What about the fact

:28:22. > :28:29.that Judd has been on the ropes and the fact that he lost to him in the

:28:30. > :28:34.UK Championship? It is that there is another top seed who is under

:28:35. > :28:37.pressure in the first round. He left himself precariously close to the

:28:38. > :28:43.cushion on the black. He is clinging on at the moment and it is great to

:28:44. > :28:47.show the character coming through. If too many big seeds go out it is

:28:48. > :28:56.not great for the tournament. You don't wish ill on either player. He

:28:57. > :29:04.also wants the fairy tale stories of the qualifiers. I have never been an

:29:05. > :29:10.underdog supporter. I want top seeds in any sport watch. You do want to

:29:11. > :29:12.see the best players in the adjournment but it is disappointing

:29:13. > :29:18.that a lot of top players are going out. If it keeps going like this,

:29:19. > :29:25.let's give no Ronnie O'Sullivan the trophy now. The viewers love an

:29:26. > :29:28.underdog. It is only natural to support the underdog but as they

:29:29. > :29:32.call you would like to see enough of the top seeds coming through to the

:29:33. > :29:37.latter stages and when they get through the gears then all of a

:29:38. > :29:40.sudden they reach full pelt and it is just a beauty to watch these

:29:41. > :29:44.players. If too many of them go out there is the argument that because

:29:45. > :29:49.of the first round and the panic that sets in that it has messed

:29:50. > :29:54.things up. Do you think Judd Trump is thinking the fact that this

:29:55. > :29:59.defending champion Stuart Bingham has gone, Shaun Murphy, guys who

:30:00. > :30:03.have won the title. That is the only problem about playing in this World

:30:04. > :30:07.Championship late on the Wednesday. You have seen so many seeds go out

:30:08. > :30:14.and you can't help ballot in the back of your mind. Also perhaps just

:30:15. > :30:19.in that frame. Perhaps his competitive instincts comment.

:30:20. > :30:23.Perhaps he has got his tail up a bit and he knows that possibly Liang

:30:24. > :30:28.Wenbo is stalling. But I think is good for this match that you will

:30:29. > :30:31.see a fight back now. Perhaps Judd Trump can move up a level and

:30:32. > :30:35.started to fire. I don't think he has been exactly the Judd Trump we

:30:36. > :30:39.know yet and that is understandable but obviously towards the back end

:30:40. > :30:43.of the last session of the first round when you have got to show some

:30:44. > :30:49.character, then the best and the strong to survive. Pretty snookered

:30:50. > :30:55.means nothing now. It is just about getting to ten. We often talk about

:30:56. > :31:03.the impact of the sport on China. Imagine what would happen because in

:31:04. > :31:11.the next round would be Ding Junhui. Let's go back.

:31:12. > :31:23.There would be 100 million watching that match. Have to get the cue ball

:31:24. > :31:29.past the baulk line and that was only just passed the baulk line. We

:31:30. > :31:40.spoke about winning mini sessions and this is a chance to win 3-1 and

:31:41. > :31:45.go one behind. That certainly would have been in his mind at the start

:31:46. > :31:55.of the session. That cue ball was pulled up just in time.

:31:56. > :32:10.The only thing that worries me, he has won the previous two with a

:32:11. > :32:19.hybrid 54 -- high break. Played a nice shot there. Just moving the red

:32:20. > :32:23.away to clear the path. He would like to play the red to the right

:32:24. > :32:31.corner first that he does not feel as though he has a good enough

:32:32. > :32:41.angle. Needs to travel. Just a bit short of pace. Not too bad, a line

:32:42. > :32:50.of reds across the table. He is going to miss the yellow. He has cue

:32:51. > :32:54.that absolutely beautifully. And I don't know whether the last couple

:32:55. > :33:01.of frames has taken some of his confidence but he looks to be cueing

:33:02. > :33:07.that smoother. He has a tendency for Judd when he's not playing well or

:33:08. > :33:19.under pressure to hit at the ball. And so far, the cueing action looks

:33:20. > :33:30.smooth. 68 points to get to snookers required. Doesn't want to push the

:33:31. > :34:06.red into the cluster of four. Won't have been under this much

:34:07. > :34:19.pressure since last year in the semifinal. Going to play for the

:34:20. > :34:26.black again. That is the problem. Under normal circumstances you would

:34:27. > :34:32.not expect him to miss the blue. But, he is under a little bit of

:34:33. > :34:47.pressure. Played it well. Played it very well.

:34:48. > :34:53.Taking nothing for granted that it no means after this pink two more

:34:54. > :35:01.reds and two more colours will be more than enough. Mid-session

:35:02. > :35:20.interval after this frame. And this has been a superb

:35:21. > :35:30.contribution. The end when both just broke off and did not leave it safe.

:35:31. > :35:34.Great long read from Judd. What has impressed me is the way he has cued.

:35:35. > :35:42.This is the smooth sea has looked all morning. We're used to 10am

:35:43. > :35:47.sessions and we have not had one today. He is playing a lot quicker

:35:48. > :35:51.now and has his rhythm going, he was in bits and pieces earlier that now

:35:52. > :36:07.is going full flight. A round of applause. White as we were saying he

:36:08. > :36:15.went 7-3 behind and the next three frames or not one visit. Liang Wenbo

:36:16. > :36:19.had chances as well as Judd but Judd managed to win, a scrappy as they

:36:20. > :36:24.were and Liang Wenbo will go to the dressing room now, no longer a big

:36:25. > :36:35.favourites because he was looking that way when he was 7-3 in France.

:36:36. > :36:47.Even money between the two now, Judd's highest break so far has been

:36:48. > :36:57.86. This to equal that. Liang Wenbo has made two centuries in this

:36:58. > :37:05.match, the first two frames. A red and a black for the turn. 33

:37:06. > :37:23.centuries so far in the tournament. This will be the 34th.

:37:24. > :37:30.And we know it will be exhibition time now. That is his 388th

:37:31. > :37:48.competitive century. And that's never rolled out. I still

:37:49. > :37:58.detected it slipping off to the right. A tremendous part. Go on son.

:37:59. > :38:06.-- pot. Give us a thrill. It went the other way off the second

:38:07. > :38:13.cushion. Don't ruin your tip. What an effort this is. What a shame. He

:38:14. > :38:18.has gotten right back into this and goes into the interval trailing by

:38:19. > :38:25.just one at 7-6. STUDIO: Wrote in fairness you called

:38:26. > :38:30.this. You said Judd had to win the next three to get itself into it.

:38:31. > :38:34.Possibly a new favourite for the match. That was fantastic in the

:38:35. > :38:38.last one, the first to he one scrappy and just had to get the

:38:39. > :38:42.victory. That was more like Judd Trump. Favourites because he has won

:38:43. > :38:48.the three on the bounce and he will be sitting there now thinking he can

:38:49. > :38:52.win? But if Liang Wenbo will pay the green doubling, if he goes back to

:38:53. > :38:54.his dressing room and looks back at the situation and see what he could

:38:55. > :38:58.have done, he didn't have two plates. You don't want to think

:38:59. > :39:04.negatively and worry so I think a big turning point in the match.

:39:05. > :39:14.Let's look at the turning -- the draw. If Liang wins this it sets up

:39:15. > :39:20.are interesting tie between Ding Junhui. The possibilities of Judd

:39:21. > :39:24.Trump and Liang Wenbo and Neil Robertson who has been knocked out

:39:25. > :39:27.by Michael Holt, callings, it would always be a good match in the bottom

:39:28. > :39:33.half and it'll be tough to get through. A lot of the times you see

:39:34. > :39:37.the qualifier raise the game and in the next round for by the wayside so

:39:38. > :39:44.it'll be interesting if he can keep up to that standard. But whatever

:39:45. > :39:51.happens in this match will be a fascinating next match. Thank you

:39:52. > :40:05.for the moment. It is time to turn our attention to table talk.

:40:06. > :40:13.And today we focus on getting more disabled people involved in snooker.

:40:14. > :40:17.The governing body the WPBSA is encouraging more to take part. They

:40:18. > :40:24.still have a dream to get snooker in the Olympics and in the Paralympics.

:40:25. > :40:28.We'll talk to John and Adam soon, one of the ideas is to set up a

:40:29. > :40:36.tournament and the first one got underway in November. I love these

:40:37. > :40:46.tables. You know where your game is that when you are here. They are

:40:47. > :41:01.like lightning. Grease lightning. Screw back of six cushions and you

:41:02. > :41:02.are like while. It's unbelievable. I feel that I am not handicapped when

:41:03. > :41:21.I sit there. What is happening here today is a

:41:22. > :41:25.world of stability snooker tournament and it is the first one

:41:26. > :41:30.we have run and it is part of trying to engage people at grassroots to

:41:31. > :41:33.come into the sport. There are a lot of people who can get great benefit

:41:34. > :41:38.and enjoy this and this is the opportunity we want to give them. A

:41:39. > :41:42.proper structure is fight because it then has a feeling of this is

:41:43. > :41:59.important. It's nice to be sitting on the other

:42:00. > :42:04.side of the fence watching the excitement, the bus, the intensity

:42:05. > :42:07.we created. In the four months as a governing body there are so many

:42:08. > :42:12.different skills involved in snooker, it is not just potting the

:42:13. > :42:16.ball and I think for anybody looking to appreciate how difficult it is,

:42:17. > :42:22.go down to any snooker club and tried to put a ball and that above

:42:23. > :42:33.all else will make people appreciate the artistry. I've always loved

:42:34. > :42:39.snooker. Absolutely adored. I saw the final in the masses with Paul

:42:40. > :42:43.Hunter and he had a massive trophy with a massive cheque and a

:42:44. > :42:49.beautiful wife and I want some of that. I went down to the local club,

:42:50. > :42:55.I was terrible, I went online and got some lessons and here I am.

:42:56. > :43:03.The reason I love it is it is because the fascination of all the

:43:04. > :43:05.different shot to complained and there is or was room for

:43:06. > :43:09.improvements I don't think you ever stop learning. I don't think there

:43:10. > :43:12.is a limit to what you can do in the game if you put your mind to it.

:43:13. > :43:28.There is a lot of scope for everyone.

:43:29. > :43:40.There is one guy who plays with one hand. For his bridge she has made a

:43:41. > :43:47.small two interest. He uses that as a left hand and it is unbelievable.

:43:48. > :43:53.It's like anything, if you are a musician or anything, you practice

:43:54. > :43:57.and practice and practice. Until you reach a standard you are happy with.

:43:58. > :44:12.But it never stops because you move it up to another notch. Everyone is

:44:13. > :44:18.why Saint being like Steve Davis the one I lose I don't like it. That

:44:19. > :44:25.fire is burning always. It is part of this, no quitting and I have this

:44:26. > :44:35.drive to just go on. It's never this is it now. You do the best you can.

:44:36. > :44:39.Our biggest aspiration is to get back in the Paralympics. We were

:44:40. > :44:43.there in 80s and it is eminently doable so we need to get 12 other

:44:44. > :44:48.countries engaged in that is why we are a world governing body. The next

:44:49. > :44:55.step is to get snooker and other ski sports into the Olympics and we are

:44:56. > :44:58.thinking big. Stuff like today has been an integral part in giving

:44:59. > :45:03.disabled people an opportunity in the future because they didn't have

:45:04. > :45:04.those opportunities before and hopefully with the beautiful game of

:45:05. > :45:15.snooker we can provide it. We alighted to see so many guests

:45:16. > :45:20.are they from all over the United Kingdom. They have been inside the

:45:21. > :45:25.Crucible and we are delighted to say a lot have joined us today in the

:45:26. > :45:28.winter garden. Jonathan Adams is one of the men responsible for getting

:45:29. > :45:37.more people involved in snooker, good afternoon. This is important to

:45:38. > :45:41.get more people playing? Definitely. Snooker is such an inclusive sport

:45:42. > :45:45.full simony people and to give them the opportunity to play as we see so

:45:46. > :45:49.many able-bodied people doing is so crucial to help developing snooker

:45:50. > :45:53.as a whole. Budgets for disability but with the Olympic bid we are

:45:54. > :45:59.hoping to achieve. Through the work we do with disability, it allows it

:46:00. > :46:04.to become an inclusive sport and self segregated. Events like this

:46:05. > :46:09.and works like this will only help reflect that in the future. You are

:46:10. > :46:16.new to the role you making progress? Definitely all the time. People I'm

:46:17. > :46:20.involved with, it is not the finished article or a polished

:46:21. > :46:24.product but at the date we are committed to helping disabled

:46:25. > :46:29.people, men and women getting involved. It is such a wonderful

:46:30. > :46:33.game and we think just because you have a disability doesn't mean you

:46:34. > :46:36.have an ability on the table and if we can help promote that and drive

:46:37. > :46:41.that forward than it is something we are very proud of. Interestingly for

:46:42. > :46:45.snooker, the table is quite high and of all the table ball games, the

:46:46. > :46:49.pool table is lower, the snooker table was quite tired so you have

:46:50. > :46:54.different types of disability that play, Howley different grades are

:46:55. > :47:00.the? On the physical disability there are 1-5. 1-2 is wheelchairs

:47:01. > :47:06.and 3-5 are the varying disabilities. 6-8 is sensory, vision

:47:07. > :47:13.and intellectual so there is a huge range of disabilities and luckily it

:47:14. > :47:16.is still a sport that can be adapted to any disability type which is one

:47:17. > :47:28.of the beautiful things of snooker. The sport itself does not need to be

:47:29. > :47:31.to large for people to participate. So many other sports in the United

:47:32. > :47:36.Kingdom have made fantastic progress when it comes to disability sport.

:47:37. > :47:41.It is brilliant that the WPBSA are doing this? It's fantastic. Some of

:47:42. > :47:48.the parts they are playing here are fantastic. What breaks have been

:47:49. > :47:55.made? One Indian gentleman in York at the UK championship received a

:47:56. > :48:02.medal of Nigel Moore and Jason Ferguson, he had not played the game

:48:03. > :48:10.for 12 years and he had a 58 break and 53 break one frame. To say he

:48:11. > :48:16.has never played on a star table, to achieve breaks like that was truly

:48:17. > :48:22.incredible. Not many people know about this but I'm aware of this

:48:23. > :48:27.fact, we all have our extensions and there was a time when we didn't have

:48:28. > :48:32.them. We are screwed queues and put bets on and the players that play in

:48:33. > :48:37.wheelchairs were doing this years ago and it has taken the prose so

:48:38. > :48:44.long to catch up. I see players with little pieces of rests as a bridge

:48:45. > :48:50.hand, telescopic extensions and it allows them to be on a level playing

:48:51. > :48:55.field which they may not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. With

:48:56. > :49:00.the innovations that are coming into sport now and modern technology, the

:49:01. > :49:04.demand for inclusion with disability is incredible. The things you think

:49:05. > :49:11.I'm now 20 think 25 years ago you would never dream of having

:49:12. > :49:17.something like that. Stay with us because we will be talking about

:49:18. > :49:20.children. One way to get more people playing a sport is engaging at a

:49:21. > :49:29.young age and one tournament took place on Monday in Sheffield. We

:49:30. > :49:32.have the Sheffield disability Championships. Rory Scholes,

:49:33. > :49:35.secondary schools and disability schools have been learning how to

:49:36. > :49:39.place an acre and competing -- primary schools. -- play snooker and

:49:40. > :49:51.competing. The winner gets a glass trophy,

:49:52. > :50:01.almost identical to the Masters. Everybody gets a medal and everybody

:50:02. > :50:16.has a chance to compete. Within this disability side of the

:50:17. > :50:21.project, we have had young people learning about the colours and now

:50:22. > :50:24.they can pick the colours up, it was like when it was introduced in the

:50:25. > :50:44.BBC. It shows how powerful snooker is.

:50:45. > :50:47.Every ethnicity and they put smiles on people's faces. Snooker gives

:50:48. > :51:00.people a chance and other sports you have to have two complete and play.

:51:01. > :51:10.You can sense by the feel whilst people have challenges in life,

:51:11. > :51:22.snooker has given people a chance this morning to come together.

:51:23. > :51:39.Monday morning has been great for them when it could've been tough.

:51:40. > :51:46.Aren't they just brilliant pictures? Congratulations to Jessica Johnson

:51:47. > :51:52.who won the tournament. Steve is one of our guest today, Steve has kindly

:51:53. > :51:58.offered Mr Steve Davis the use of his wheelchair. You're going to give

:51:59. > :52:02.us a demo. You don't appreciate how big the table is, the reaches the

:52:03. > :52:07.first problem. On a shot like this is OK but the problem is, you

:52:08. > :52:14.wheelchairs on the move see you have to get in the right place and then

:52:15. > :52:18.put the break on. Yes. You have to get in the right place, put the

:52:19. > :52:24.break on and then reach over so that is OK. I fancy this one. Now all of

:52:25. > :52:29.a sudden I'm now not right on the pink so take the break off, now

:52:30. > :52:33.icons reach so now I have to use the rest on a lot of these but the reach

:52:34. > :52:42.level, how far can you get over the table? Not that far. Not that far.

:52:43. > :52:51.You need a lot of the rest? Yes. The other thing I think is about you are

:52:52. > :52:54.there, you are over the top of a ball and there is nowhere you can

:52:55. > :53:02.play so you need the spider a fair bit. Yes. When did you start playing

:53:03. > :53:07.Steve? When I was 11 I was in the youth club and we used to play in

:53:08. > :53:15.the youth club. Often? Every week if I can. I play in some local leagues

:53:16. > :53:29.in Gloucester. Good to be here today? Very good. This shot is nigh

:53:30. > :53:35.on impossible. I've got it... You built it up then. I just think the

:53:36. > :53:40.difficulty is you can't see the perspective as was biggest problem,

:53:41. > :53:44.I'm not greater manoeuvrability but to see if a ball goes you have go

:53:45. > :53:48.all the way around the table to see another shot. It is very difficult

:53:49. > :53:54.to play like this and if you are some of top breaks, they are

:53:55. > :54:00.understandably not as high to stop a big problem to play the game from a

:54:01. > :54:04.lower perspective. One final question about the aspiration for

:54:05. > :54:07.World Snooker to get into the Paralympics. Is that one of the

:54:08. > :54:12.reasons why you have been given this job? I wouldn't say so. My mission

:54:13. > :54:14.statement so to speak was to put right what has been made wrong in

:54:15. > :54:19.previous instalments of disability sports. Just because someone has a

:54:20. > :54:30.disability doesn't mean they don't have the rights. Given my background

:54:31. > :54:33.being in London 2012 Paralympics, I had to start from the ground upwards

:54:34. > :54:38.and these players have never had this opportunity before. As a world

:54:39. > :54:41.body we were able to fulfil events in the future to hold world-class

:54:42. > :54:48.event and build-up to the Olympics and stop it was where it matters the

:54:49. > :54:54.most and where the grassroots are developing. Snooker helping people.

:54:55. > :55:00.And obviously showing them the pathway to the elite level should

:55:01. > :55:08.they wish to aspire to that level. Thank you for coming. It is now time

:55:09. > :55:18.for the daily challenge quiz with Mark Selby.

:55:19. > :55:25.It's my favourite part of the day and today we have none other than

:55:26. > :55:28.Mark Selby. You have got five questions, every question you get

:55:29. > :55:33.right you remove one read from the table and then when you strike the

:55:34. > :55:38.cue ball you have super 15. And then the black to finish. You have Mark

:55:39. > :55:46.Williams who is the leader. I thought I would be a right that he

:55:47. > :55:53.has one minute 19 seconds. I'll be happy to be evident. This year five

:55:54. > :56:04.questions. Who'd you play in your first match at the Crucible? John

:56:05. > :56:16.Higgins. Correct. Which player have you played most in tournaments this

:56:17. > :56:25.season? This season stop macro --.... You're normally good with

:56:26. > :56:33.this. John Higgins? And Lucky Mark Williams. Seven times. Name all your

:56:34. > :56:40.opponents on the way to winning the title in 2014? Michael White.

:56:41. > :56:51.Allister Carter. Alan McManus, Neil Robertson and O'Sullivan. Brilliant.

:56:52. > :57:08.Anyone would think you were there. He was the runner up the year you

:57:09. > :57:21.were born? 83. Davies. It was clear for Byrne. Multiple choice. How many

:57:22. > :57:30.century breaks have you made at the Crucible Theatre? 50? 52? 54? 56?

:57:31. > :57:47.How many choices. Just one. Have a guess. That's all I've got to do.

:57:48. > :58:02.52. Correct. You lucky people. Three reds to remove. Take any 31. --

:58:03. > :58:12.three you once. Indecision we have thinking.

:58:13. > :58:19.I didn't see that coming. That's unusual. The cue ball anywhere you

:58:20. > :58:29.like and when you first strike to go up against the clock.

:58:30. > :58:39.Theory goes. -- here he. We'll give you some atmosphere. Your time

:58:40. > :59:42.starts now. 40 seconds you are flying here. We

:59:43. > :59:52.will let you know when you are at a minute. I didn't want to run round.

:59:53. > :00:09.This is fantastic. We will be Mark Williams. One minutes. Ready

:00:10. > :00:22.everybody. , Mark Selby. It's there. The time is... Will love this.

:00:23. > :00:33.One minute and 14 seconds. The leader is Mark Selby. And you go up

:00:34. > :00:37.there at the top. Congratulations. Never in doubt. The new leader.

:00:38. > :00:44.Brilliant. I've always been a quick player. That's two ahead of me.

:00:45. > :00:53.Well done, Mark Selby. That'll be really hard to beat. Let's get back

:00:54. > :00:59.to the serious stuff. 7-6 to Liang Wenbo. Three frames, Liang Wenbo

:01:00. > :01:05.needs, to set up an all China clash with Ding Junhui. Steve Davis, do

:01:06. > :01:09.you think he has a bit of stage fright? He will be thinking

:01:10. > :01:13.positively as opposed to what has just happened out there. Possibly he

:01:14. > :01:23.is going to know that Judd Trump is a bit freer with his cueing up.

:01:24. > :01:29.Every frame is massive. If Judd Trump levels, you've got to think he

:01:30. > :01:36.is favourite. Thank you, boys. We shall see. Let's return to the

:01:37. > :01:39.commentators. COMMENTATOR: Yes, very important, Judd Trump, this match,

:01:40. > :01:46.now, just gone over the four hour mark.

:01:47. > :02:01.Not there, so not punished. But the red has run safe.

:02:02. > :02:10.Type of red we are used to seeing these players knock in. Now Judd has

:02:11. > :02:25.got himself right back in this match. Liang Wenbo has just dropped

:02:26. > :02:34.off a bit. And when we started this important final session, Liang Wenbo

:02:35. > :02:39.was at 91% pot success, I think Judd was 90%. They've flip-flopped.

:02:40. > :02:54.That's probably why he's only one frame behind. He's upped his game

:02:55. > :03:00.slightly. If you look at this second session, 96% success, Judd Trump.

:03:01. > :03:08.82% success, Liang Wenbo. If he doesn't improve on that, for me, he

:03:09. > :03:15.loses. Excellent shot, this, from Judd Trump. That's a beauty. Yes,

:03:16. > :03:20.especially where the brown is, difficult to hit it thin and missed

:03:21. > :03:26.brown, so he will have to look for an alternative. Of the three top

:03:27. > :03:37.reds, if he hits that one thin, the brown is not in the way. But he's

:03:38. > :03:43.got to hit it thin. Very good. Yes, excellent shot. Yeah, very good

:03:44. > :04:16.reply, that, from Wenbo. Well, that's another excellent

:04:17. > :04:38.reply. Good friend of ours, and a very

:04:39. > :04:42.great actor. Virtually in every sketch that Victoria Wood did.

:04:43. > :04:56.Unfortunately she is no longer with us. Great actor. Currently in

:04:57. > :05:02.Emmerdale. Just caught this a fraction too thin, he will not mind

:05:03. > :05:12.if it nestles behind the green. And if he has only left one red, there

:05:13. > :05:18.is no path back to baulk. The one on the right-hand side of the table

:05:19. > :05:26.committee cannot get to baulk. So he is in a spot of bother, now -- you

:05:27. > :05:34.cannot get back to baulk. He could bend around the green and get the

:05:35. > :05:44.middle red. The shadow tells you what you cannot get to. No path back

:05:45. > :05:54.to baulk off the red on the right-hand side of the table. He

:05:55. > :06:06.will have to catch the red portable. It slows it down. It checks it.

:06:07. > :06:10.Can't just drop to the top cushion, because he will leave the red to the

:06:11. > :06:15.left corner. He could almost play begin off, and try to leave the

:06:16. > :06:23.white in the jaws. Every chance you could get in behind the brown. Now

:06:24. > :06:27.he's thinking of coming off two conditions and nestling on this red

:06:28. > :06:29.closest to the top cushion. He's got the length, he's got the line. Well

:06:30. > :07:12.played. Been quite impressed with the safety

:07:13. > :07:20.play of Wenbo in this match. His pot success rate has not been as good,

:07:21. > :07:29.but the safety has been up there. Leading chart by 11%, he outplaying

:07:30. > :07:35.him in the safety Department. Welcome in this tactical battle,

:07:36. > :07:42.take your hat off to both players. There have been some excellent

:07:43. > :07:49.safety shots played. Both of them are looking for that one chance. Got

:07:50. > :08:00.to catch this thin, otherwise he could go enough. Thin he did. That's

:08:01. > :08:09.another excellent safety. Wonderful line and length. I think he has

:08:10. > :08:17.snooker to Judd on all balls, here. -- I think he has snookered. Not so

:08:18. > :08:29.much between the green and blue, between the pink and blue. Can he

:08:30. > :08:35.hit that red? I don't think so. Judd is saying he can definitely see the

:08:36. > :08:42.red. Making sure the referee is aware of that, if it is replaced. He

:08:43. > :08:54.thinks he can get the edge. He hit the pink first. Now try and put

:08:55. > :09:06.those back together. Liang Wenbo is looking at the referee. Is he going

:09:07. > :09:16.to give him some work to do? We will join you again in about ten minutes

:09:17. > :09:26.time! That's why Judd suggested, when you put them back, make sure I

:09:27. > :09:28.can still see it. There is a red next to the plaque that was not

:09:29. > :09:39.there. Could we have the audience stand up

:09:40. > :09:46.and point where every ball was? Where was the black? I think the

:09:47. > :10:02.plaque was there, I just don't think the red was there.

:10:03. > :10:17.I don't think it is so important where the other reds are, the one

:10:18. > :10:32.near the pink is key. Well, that's where they were. So another red goes

:10:33. > :10:44.behind the one he is touching now. That's not bad. Getting there.

:10:45. > :10:51.What's the longest you've ever seen to have them replaced? They didn't

:10:52. > :10:55.have to misrule in our day, did they. You'd think with all the

:10:56. > :11:00.modern technology, maybe we should give him an iPad or something and he

:11:01. > :11:05.could have it by the table. Other tablets are available from all good

:11:06. > :11:10.shops. Welcomer told the referee, not me!

:11:11. > :11:22.-- well, tell the referee, not me. And of course, once he's done this,

:11:23. > :11:34.remember, Judd thought he could get in between the blue and the pink to

:11:35. > :11:38.catch the red. This will be a trivia question in a few years, what's the

:11:39. > :11:46.longest time to replace the balls? This is the winner, hands down. But

:11:47. > :11:57.we've got to start looking at how we can do it a little bit quicker. Both

:11:58. > :12:00.players sat in their seats. Well, nothing they can do, obviously.

:12:01. > :12:06.They've got to wait for the referee to get the balls right. That's not

:12:07. > :12:11.important, that's not in the equation. OK if he misses again. The

:12:12. > :12:14.key thing is to get this white ball in the right position. The pink

:12:15. > :12:19.cannot be in the right position at the moment, there was definitely an

:12:20. > :12:25.edge of the red below the pink sticking out. There is nothing

:12:26. > :12:30.sticking out. That's where he's put them now, this is where they were

:12:31. > :12:41.before. Well done, deserves a round of applause, to be fair. Leave it

:12:42. > :12:48.on, please. I'll be interested to hear what Judd thinks about it. He

:12:49. > :12:54.could definitely catch that red. And to me at the moment he doesn't look

:12:55. > :13:01.as though he can. Just push it a fraction to the left, then. But you

:13:02. > :13:05.just gave him a round of applause! I didn't see that, I wasn't looking.

:13:06. > :13:27.You make one mistake... He digs you out. That was the one you wanted to

:13:28. > :13:40.play, wasn't it? The think is, with this system, it is about two

:13:41. > :13:47.millimetres out. These two work closer together, and I try to hit

:13:48. > :13:53.the second one. So Judd is saying that he wasn't trying to hit the red

:13:54. > :13:57.that was immediately below the pink. Oh, I see what he's saying, there

:13:58. > :14:04.were two reds in line, it was the second one. So I was right in the

:14:05. > :14:14.first place. You were telling me I was wrong. I'm ignoring you, Willy.

:14:15. > :14:18.It's not the red immediately below the pink. The red below that one

:14:19. > :14:32.needs moving out, just pushing out to the left, slightly. He still

:14:33. > :14:37.saying he can't see the second red. I personally think that's pretty

:14:38. > :14:42.much where you were. It might be all right for you, referee, but if he

:14:43. > :14:54.cannot hit the red like he could before... It is the second red I was

:14:55. > :15:10.aiming for. I don't know what you mean, to be honest. You see on the

:15:11. > :15:17.shop before... Quiet please. On the shot before, the pink would have hit

:15:18. > :15:25.that and nothing would have moved. The picture there is pretty much it.

:15:26. > :15:33.It wasn't there because I cannot hit anything now. Judd is just asking

:15:34. > :15:45.the referee to move the second red a fraction to the left, that's all

:15:46. > :15:56.he's asking. Would you like to look as well? Very important, this. It is

:15:57. > :16:01.very important. He could definitely get to that second red down from the

:16:02. > :16:12.pink, no doubt about it. Not the first one, the second one down,

:16:13. > :16:14.that's the one he played. So this one goes a little bit this way, is

:16:15. > :16:45.this it? This red, here. Absolutely. I sometimes wonder why they don't

:16:46. > :16:55.just leave the players too, between them... Because they'll have the

:16:56. > :17:07.final say. What do you think? Hits over seven and a half minutes.

:17:08. > :17:15.I think they've got them just about now. Where the red on the outside of

:17:16. > :17:27.the pack is, he may not be able to get back into baulk.

:17:28. > :17:35.At last we have agreed. This is still a very tricky shot for Judd

:17:36. > :17:54.Trump to play. Don't tell me he's playing a

:17:55. > :18:03.different shot after all that. He is, a two-cushion escaped with pace.

:18:04. > :18:07.I suppose what his worry was, if he played the same shot and flicked the

:18:08. > :18:12.pink again, we'd have had another eight minutes of trying to put them

:18:13. > :18:45.back together. It was like the Humpty Dumpty show.

:18:46. > :19:12.Well, normality resumed. In it goes, and perfect on the blue. Pink looks

:19:13. > :19:16.to be just off its spot. Where the cue ball? All right. It was heading

:19:17. > :19:22.towards the pocket. Decided to play that. Sometimes he hits the ball too

:19:23. > :19:29.hard unnecessarily but you could see his reasoning behind that, trying to

:19:30. > :19:31.get the pink into play. Needs a good kiss on the blue. And he didn't get

:19:32. > :20:07.one. Could have done without that full

:20:08. > :20:13.ball kiss on the blue but he's still got a red to this corner. But it

:20:14. > :20:21.does beg the question, where does the colour come from?

:20:22. > :20:26.A little bit risky playing the cannon into the black and brown

:20:27. > :20:34.Beauly because he cannot guarantee going onto the black or brown, but I

:20:35. > :20:38.think it's his only choice. He could play the red immediately below deep

:20:39. > :20:44.blue, but he is playing the one closest to the pocket. Well, he

:20:45. > :20:48.could get to the red below the blue. I think he did try to play for black

:20:49. > :20:53.or brown, just missed the cannon on the red near the top cushion. He's

:20:54. > :20:59.got himself right back in this match. Going to take on this very

:21:00. > :21:06.risky green here, made more difficult by the fact that he is

:21:07. > :21:14.reaching over other balls. Just play a very good safety. Leave the cue

:21:15. > :21:21.ball about a foot in from the baulk pocket. It's going to be a tough

:21:22. > :21:26.safety shot. It would do for me. He's played a lot of these and got

:21:27. > :21:32.them nowhere near the cushion. He's itching to play this pot. I think

:21:33. > :21:56.your shot is the right one. That's as good as anything. Yeah, I

:21:57. > :22:01.don't think Liang Wenbo will be tempted. There is a pot to the right

:22:02. > :22:12.corner, but too risky, not guaranteed. He has got a return to

:22:13. > :22:16.baulk. He's got to catch right. Doesn't want to catch thick. Needs a

:22:17. > :22:32.good white, because there are no baulk colours to hide behind. Too

:22:33. > :22:41.flick. Blue's come to his rescue -- too thick. With only the yellow

:22:42. > :22:49.close to the baulk line, you've got to get good white. Is there a red

:22:50. > :22:54.that pots here? Even if there is, it is a tough return back to the baulk

:22:55. > :23:03.end, down the right-hand side of the table. So many balls that you could

:23:04. > :23:09.run into. Quick glance at screwing this red back into baulk. Always

:23:10. > :23:17.going to be the problem when you do that, you never have any idea where

:23:18. > :23:47.the object ball is going. Could have left it easier than this.

:23:48. > :24:04.He's had a look at the potting angle into the middle pocket. Angle into

:24:05. > :24:08.the corner. He's not done anything wrong yet, Liang Wenbo, this last

:24:09. > :24:16.couple of friends. Just starting to miss one or two. Yeah, he's playing

:24:17. > :24:30.good safety. But his pot success is beginning to drop. Needs a good cue

:24:31. > :24:36.ball. He's got one. Good shot. That's the only way you can make it

:24:37. > :24:42.a good safety, now. There are no baulk colours to hide behind. Well,

:24:43. > :24:44.apart from the yellow. Every ball apart from the yellow in this half

:24:45. > :25:23.of the table. That's unusual. Big mistake. Needed that cue ball up

:25:24. > :25:29.near the line of the two middle pocket to make it a shock to

:25:30. > :25:45.nothing. Hasn't got there. Very messy table.

:25:46. > :26:01.Settle for that. The pink is now in play. He's on the green.

:26:02. > :26:08.As you say, Willie, it's a messy table, but if he can get the blue

:26:09. > :26:13.back on its spot, pink back on its spot, could be a chance to

:26:14. > :26:25.accumulate quite a few points. Maybe enough to clinch the frame.

:26:26. > :26:34.He's looking to find a red where he can get on that pink. This one

:26:35. > :26:39.nearest the right-hand corner, he could finish fairly straight on

:26:40. > :26:50.that. He's playing for the one nearest the pink spot. If he played

:26:51. > :26:55.for this red, it's a perfect positional shot. He's perfect on

:26:56. > :27:01.this red to play for the pink. There you see it, and now he's got the

:27:02. > :27:04.pink interplay. This is a chance to level the match -- he's got the pink

:27:05. > :27:14.into play. Series of Little stands and screws,

:27:15. > :27:49.now. -- little stuns and screws. Ding Junhui was in trouble

:27:50. > :27:53.yesterday, came back and won. Judd Trump was in trouble today against

:27:54. > :28:05.Liang Wenbo. Can he come back and win now? Yeah, it's been one of

:28:06. > :28:12.those matches, you can look back, pick out one or two shots that might

:28:13. > :28:18.have squandered the frame. I know which one you will be talking about,

:28:19. > :28:24.the attempted double on the green. Yes, the boys in the studio were

:28:25. > :28:30.suggesting, 7-3 in front, why give Judd a chance? Three times out of

:28:31. > :28:38.ten, when you are 7-3 in front, is it worth the risk? Meanwhile, Judd

:28:39. > :28:42.has played a poor positional shot, there. OK, he could still pot to be

:28:43. > :28:48.pink but he was taken away from the reds. And the one thing, when you

:28:49. > :28:53.are getting near to clinching a friend, you need good close control

:28:54. > :28:58.of the cue ball. He has lost its slightly now. -- when you are

:28:59. > :29:06.getting close to clinching a frame. And he has not regained it. He has

:29:07. > :29:09.not regained it. Yes, the Twix and between, choice of blue or pink. --

:29:10. > :29:21.the Twix and between. Unless he wants to play for the red

:29:22. > :29:29.at the back of those three reds. Which is what he has done. You know,

:29:30. > :29:37.he is such a good potter, and he didn't bang at that, he just floated

:29:38. > :29:45.it in, good shot. Ooh, didn't want the kiss on the red. He's now 48

:29:46. > :29:54.points in but there's still a possible... 59 remaining. This is a

:29:55. > :30:02.very, very dangerous brown, if he is contemplating taking it on. Will he

:30:03. > :30:07.want to leave the brown, there? It would be difficult, should Liang

:30:08. > :30:11.Wenbo have a chance. I think quite rightly he's having second thoughts.

:30:12. > :30:17.Just pushed the blue to the right-hand side, if he can avoid the

:30:18. > :30:21.kiss on the yellow, anywhere near that baulk yellow pocket would be

:30:22. > :30:25.great. And I think he can hit enough of the blue. He might not be able to

:30:26. > :30:33.put it in a safe position. I don't like this brown.

:30:34. > :30:44.This is a case of putting all your eggs in one basket. I would be

:30:45. > :30:50.concerned with a half ball blue off the side of the cushion and land on

:30:51. > :31:05.the baulk cushion and maybe use the yellow as a cover.

:31:06. > :31:14.He has hit another victim. He has got the blue in a safe disposition

:31:15. > :31:46.-- position. It is a tough one. He has played it well. Yeah, it was

:31:47. > :31:56.one of those situations where is you did then and didn't get the part, he

:31:57. > :32:05.would run in between keeping. Aired on the side of safety. Does Judd

:32:06. > :32:07.think there is a plant on the? It could finish up right behind the

:32:08. > :32:41.green if it travels, and it has. Good hit. Judd Trump still a big

:32:42. > :32:48.favourite for this frame. If he hits the red really then he could get the

:32:49. > :33:04.white back in the same place tight on the cushion. He hasn't covered

:33:05. > :33:11.it, but good effort. But he has done is he has tied the red in the middle

:33:12. > :33:17.of the brown and black top along with the brown and black, so a bit

:33:18. > :33:26.of insurance for him should Liang Wenbo get an opportunity.

:33:27. > :33:40.Catching the bumper. Judd Trump, red, pink to go 55 points in front

:33:41. > :33:47.of 51 remaining. I am surprised he didn't play with the pink. He is

:33:48. > :33:51.playing with the yellow. Could have played the green. That would put him

:33:52. > :34:00.52 points in front of the 51 remaining. I hear what you are

:34:01. > :34:07.saying, but the frame is not dead at the moment unless he gets these are

:34:08. > :34:15.reds which he has done. I would rather put the ball that left a

:34:16. > :34:24.snooker. He needs this red and he has levelled the match for certain.

:34:25. > :34:26.Boy, have we got a match on. With two young men who have their eyes on

:34:27. > :34:50.the prize. Great effort to try and disturb the

:34:51. > :34:59.red. He has a good himself but it doesn't matter. -- snookered

:35:00. > :35:10.himself. It would be a good fit. -- it. That is enough. There was no way

:35:11. > :35:19.Liang Wenbo could come back. The comeback is complete. It is now 7-7.

:35:20. > :35:24.STUDIO: Four frames on the bounce from Judd Trump. That frame was 33

:35:25. > :35:29.minutes and 50 seconds and you wonder whether Liang Wenbo got a bit

:35:30. > :35:32.moved by what happened there. A lot of disruption. Judd Trump during the

:35:33. > :35:38.interval decided to take to Twitter and he said drinks on me later if I

:35:39. > :35:40.get out of jail here. Very dangerous when you are using social media

:35:41. > :35:44.because a lot of people hold you to that. Mine is a gin and tonic

:35:45. > :35:47.anyway. A lot of people saying how much they enjoyed our discussion

:35:48. > :36:12.about disabled sport. It was great to see all our guests

:36:13. > :36:18.having such a fabulous time. Steve, let's talk first of all, that's

:36:19. > :36:23.disruption during the frame is one of the reasons why people get turned

:36:24. > :36:27.off snooker. Obviously the way that the misrule has been sorted out is

:36:28. > :36:30.that the balls have to be replaced and they have to be replaced

:36:31. > :36:33.properly. There is potential that the referee doesn't have the debris

:36:34. > :36:39.ball back if it doesn't fear with every shot but when you play into

:36:40. > :36:44.the pack they have to be all right. It is a worry because there is no

:36:45. > :36:49.way out of it so it is just one of those things that happens every now

:36:50. > :36:53.and again. Looking at Twitter and Reading Judd Trump's tweet, there

:36:54. > :37:00.are a number of people who say this is a bit of a farce. It got that way

:37:01. > :37:03.because Judd had to explain to the referee where the red was and then

:37:04. > :37:08.it turned out after all that time he just played another shot which was

:37:09. > :37:12.quite amusing. The referee having to look at the camera to see where it

:37:13. > :37:20.was, it looks a bit farcical at times. Apparently it was a hawk eye

:37:21. > :37:26.problem. Lots of people watching this who say that they should bring

:37:27. > :37:31.technology into sport and perhaps that is one of the negatives. If it

:37:32. > :37:35.was down to the memory of the players and the referee you might

:37:36. > :37:41.not get any of them night. With all the technology that is the problem.

:37:42. > :37:45.It just really up the flow. Snooker is not exactly the most flowing

:37:46. > :37:49.sport and perhaps that is not why they watch it, it is the grammar and

:37:50. > :37:56.the tension. It is fascinating because then how does it impact on

:37:57. > :37:59.the players? It has elements of fascination even though we are

:38:00. > :38:04.sitting here wondering what is going on. Do you think Liang Wenbo was

:38:05. > :38:08.affected by the delay? I thought it might take his mind of what has

:38:09. > :38:15.happened. Judd was coming back into the match. Judd seems to be getting

:38:16. > :38:19.the upper hand and is getting a couple of robes of the ball that he

:38:20. > :38:27.perhaps wasn't getting yesterday. It is a big ask for Liang Wenbo, that

:38:28. > :38:33.seat what he is made of. First ten. Back to our commentators.

:38:34. > :38:41.COMMENTATOR: The break from Liang Wenbo was a good one. The path back

:38:42. > :39:45.to baulk is a problem. It wasn't the hawk eye problem, just

:39:46. > :39:52.to put the record straight, it was a company who have been putting the

:39:53. > :40:01.pictures up to assist the referees. At least we are back to normal now.

:40:02. > :40:07.Liang Wenbo faced a tough shot. He doesn't want a ball anywhere near it

:40:08. > :40:35.a pocket. We know what a devastating player he can be.

:40:36. > :40:45.Excellent safety shot. OK, there may be a red to the right corner but

:40:46. > :40:46.when you're that close to the cushion, particularly if are

:40:47. > :41:05.straight, not a lot you can do. He is eyeing it up. Is it straight?

:41:06. > :41:17.Or just of? It is fancying knocking missing. -- this in. Because we can

:41:18. > :41:25.get to that baulk cushion the more difficult you make the pot. So with

:41:26. > :41:32.that clap action you can bring the cue back as far as you would

:41:33. > :41:39.normally. -- just wanted to avoid the kiss on the pink there to be up

:41:40. > :41:44.for the blue. Certainly in the ascendancy is Judd Trump at the

:41:45. > :41:55.moment, but just one missed pot and it can turn on its head. This is not

:41:56. > :42:07.straightforward. On the red just below the black. If this red goes

:42:08. > :42:11.in, this is an excellent chance to take the lead for the first time in

:42:12. > :42:23.this match. Just slightly awkward cueing. That is a terrific shot. I

:42:24. > :42:28.thought he might have tried to vote for the black but maybe the fact

:42:29. > :42:38.that he was slightly hampered, he wanted to put a bit more pace on it.

:42:39. > :42:45.It was an excellent job. He is thinking very well now, but to me,

:42:46. > :42:49.most importantly, he is really starting to strike the ball nicely.

:42:50. > :42:50.Something from me he didn't do consistently in the first session of

:42:51. > :43:20.this match. Cannon perfectly played. Yes, if he

:43:21. > :43:23.had hit the front red he wouldn't have been on anything. The

:43:24. > :43:42.juggernaut is rolling. Liang Wenbo, when he went 7-3 in

:43:43. > :43:49.front, we were thinking that he had broke the back of Judd, but if Judd

:43:50. > :43:57.makes the most of this opportunity, he will have 15 frames in a row --

:43:58. > :44:10.he will have taken five frames in a row. He can see how well Judd is

:44:11. > :44:17.taking to strike the ball. There is the proof. He is up to 94% pot

:44:18. > :44:29.success in this match. Liang Wenbo back to 87%.

:44:30. > :44:39.It has gone into those, but look at the pot success this second session.

:44:40. > :44:43.98% Judd Trump. Liang Wenbo down to 76%. That tells you why he could be

:44:44. > :44:51.about to win five frames on the trot. He has played a nice recovery

:44:52. > :45:14.there. He has played that nicely. Just pick

:45:15. > :45:17.of the loose ones now and it should be enough. The eight points, needs

:45:18. > :45:57.to get to that. -- 68. This has really been an excellent

:45:58. > :46:01.performance from Judd this morning. We are used to playing at ten

:46:02. > :46:31.o'clock in the morning. But this has been awesome.

:46:32. > :46:38.Giving it extra concentration. As you mentioned, the last thing Judd

:46:39. > :46:44.wants is to have a drawn-out frame with his opponent trying to get

:46:45. > :46:45.smokers and nonsmokers can happen. He has played for the double on this

:46:46. > :47:05.red. If he gets this double, that is this

:47:06. > :47:06.frame done and dusted. Liang Wenbo will be carrying on. Just one

:47:07. > :47:26.snooker needed. He could hit them both up the table.

:47:27. > :47:38.Did that red cup on the middle? I don't think so. Just past the

:47:39. > :47:42.potting angle. Judd is thinking that he doesn't really want to head a red

:47:43. > :47:49.of the cushion but when your opponent needs a snooker but you

:47:50. > :48:03.need to do is just try to play a good safety. That red that you

:48:04. > :48:06.mentioned might cut now. Liang Wenbo didn't even look at it. Trying to

:48:07. > :48:31.play safe of the red. It is a thin one but it does cut

:48:32. > :48:38.from there. There is no risk of missing it, he could still make

:48:39. > :48:52.contact with the other two reds. He mustn't think it cuts.

:48:53. > :48:59.There was some merit in that shot. He played the part but he was also

:49:00. > :49:11.making sure it came down to the top cushion. Missed an opportunity there

:49:12. > :49:14.did Liang Wenbo. Had the cue ball tight behind the black. He has lost

:49:15. > :49:25.a bit of timing. A long way away that.

:49:26. > :49:36.This is not a long way away. No, that is good. The danger red near

:49:37. > :49:44.the right middle, Liang Wenbo can't get to, so if you played safe on one

:49:45. > :49:55.of these, he has got to cover a path. Otherwise this will be his

:49:56. > :50:06.last shot in this frame. What is around. -- a turnaround. 7-3,

:50:07. > :50:17.looking good, Judd Trump looking more than a little bit rattled. But

:50:18. > :50:31.now the shoe firmly on the other foot. He is in charge. Just coming

:50:32. > :50:52.up to the minute, thinking time. Understandable.

:50:53. > :51:08.That is frame over and done with now.

:51:09. > :51:17.Slow start for Judd as far as the breaks have been concerned in the

:51:18. > :51:34.last few frames. Now beginning to roll.

:51:35. > :51:40.43 in the previous game, but he is now floating them in nicely. We

:51:41. > :51:56.could be in for some naughty snooker the next few shots.

:51:57. > :52:09.He has tried. Liang Wenbo... That was a 69 earlier on in the frame. It

:52:10. > :53:24.is 8-7. So there is a few little stats about

:53:25. > :53:29.Judd Trump. I didn't like that one on deciding frames this season. He

:53:30. > :53:35.is on the wrong side of that percentage, so he won't be looking

:53:36. > :53:42.forward to the deciding frame here. And that could happen. Plenty of

:53:43. > :53:44.snooker left in this match. At the moment it is Judd Trump view is

:53:45. > :54:03.definitely in the ascendancy. Well, there you go. Since Liang

:54:04. > :54:14.Wenbo's last part, it is over one hour and five minutes.

:54:15. > :54:23.And can you think of another sport where you would go that long without

:54:24. > :54:28.potting a ball or having some kind of, you know, something to show for

:54:29. > :54:33.your efforts? He has played some excellent safety. I was just

:54:34. > :54:45.thinking of Manchester United shots at goal, they take a while. This is

:54:46. > :54:50.really important for Liang Wenbo to try and get a foothold in this

:54:51. > :55:00.session because he is being outplayed at the moment. Asked to

:55:01. > :55:05.win this safety battle. -- has to. This is very important to know. Who

:55:06. > :55:09.gets the first chance? Liang Wenbo will be hoping and praying that he

:55:10. > :55:45.gets it. Obviously they red in baulk is

:55:46. > :55:50.causing a problem with the safety shot. Doesn't want to attack the

:55:51. > :55:58.pack but there is no choice this time.

:55:59. > :56:06.If the red next to the black doesn't pot you could just leave the white

:56:07. > :56:09.on cushion and just push the red past the middle pocket. If the red

:56:10. > :56:22.pots next to the black and played. He has left he has left a tempter

:56:23. > :56:36.for him. Just to confirm what Willie was

:56:37. > :56:44.saying, that red doesn't pass the buck. -- perhaps the black.

:56:45. > :56:54.He has left him a chance of a pot here. It is risky to do at this

:56:55. > :56:56.level. After one hour and ten minutes, this is not the type of pot

:56:57. > :57:20.you would like to take on, it is it? He gets a nice kiss of the blue. He

:57:21. > :57:25.have to take your hat off to Liang Wenbo. That was absolutely out of

:57:26. > :57:53.the top drawer. Brilliant shot. We know that the red doesn't pot but

:57:54. > :57:56.obviously the black will. He will try and finish just offers straight

:57:57. > :58:00.on this black so he can nudge the red away from the black spot and

:58:01. > :58:05.that is what he has done. If he wins the frame at this visit I will have

:58:06. > :58:13.to take my hat off to him because it would be amazing the way has been

:58:14. > :58:22.kept off the table lately. But also ask the question why did Judd Trump

:58:23. > :58:24.leave him a chance of pot? Surely there was a way he could have played

:58:25. > :58:42.a safety but not that anything on? This is the shot, why not play it up

:58:43. > :58:47.to the jaws of the middle pocket? And what does he do with the red he

:58:48. > :59:06.has played? That goes off the baulk cushion. He left a tempter. The red

:59:07. > :59:12.would have been going near the yellow. His mistake, and he is now

:59:13. > :59:23.paying for He's not going to pay any longer,

:59:24. > :59:36.because he has not judged that. It is on nothing. -- he is on nothing.

:59:37. > :59:44.Has he spotted a double? No. Disappointing not to have scored

:59:45. > :00:13.more. Once again, left him a free shot at

:00:14. > :00:17.a pot. As I said last time, it's a dangerous thing to do with these

:00:18. > :00:23.young guns today. They are never frightened of going for a pot. He's

:00:24. > :00:31.not going to refuse it, that's a certainty. Long pot success, 62%,

:00:32. > :00:38.just about. Well, just a little bit below what's required, but it's all

:00:39. > :00:47.about the next few friends. Can he knocked this in? Bound to be on the

:00:48. > :00:51.blue. He knew he could play it with confidence, the only red he could

:00:52. > :00:55.really leave was the one he was playing. Just caught it a fraction

:00:56. > :01:29.too thick. I'm looking at Judd and wondering

:01:30. > :01:39.exactly what he played. I cannot believe he played that like that. It

:01:40. > :01:47.was risky. He has left the red to the far right corner. But it's not

:01:48. > :01:58.straight. He's near the top condition. He's going to have to be

:01:59. > :02:02.digging in. It's a tough spot. He has to draw the cue ball back a bit,

:02:03. > :02:09.should he missed the red, the bottom of the three above the black will

:02:10. > :02:14.pot. He's got to dig into this cue ball to make it a shot to nothing if

:02:15. > :02:24.he can. It's not in. Where is the cue ball. More importantly, where is

:02:25. > :02:30.this red going? It cuts. But he's had a result really, from where it

:02:31. > :02:31.has finished. If he takes the cut on, B White will be travelling at

:02:32. > :02:44.pace. Funny, I looked at the expression of

:02:45. > :02:51.Liang Wenbo when he walked back to his seat, he looked at this red, and

:02:52. > :02:58.his expression told me that it was cuttable. At first clients, Judd

:02:59. > :03:54.doesn't think it is. -- at first glance. No, didn't fancy it.

:03:55. > :04:37.White not tight to the cushion, as he should have done.

:04:38. > :04:43.Not for the first time, recently, Liang Wenbo taking his time over

:04:44. > :04:54.deciding what to play. Just coming up to a minute. Got to be careful

:04:55. > :04:59.this red doesn't run down the table. Got to be careful he doesn't come

:05:00. > :05:06.back over this corner pocket. It has slowed up. But Judd will still have

:05:07. > :05:15.the advantage in this tactical exchange. Very nearly an excellent

:05:16. > :05:18.safety shot, if this red hadn't come down. As it is, it is

:05:19. > :05:55.straightforward. Both these players are attacking, so

:05:56. > :06:01.it's not what they wanted. Couple of frames like this. They would both

:06:02. > :06:09.like to get on with it, but sometimes the snooker dictate the

:06:10. > :06:22.pattern it is taking. That's a telling shot. The black covering the

:06:23. > :06:32.simple roll into the red. So just a little bit to think about, here.

:06:33. > :06:38.Just looked at the red near the middle pocket. There could be a red

:06:39. > :06:42.to the right of the pink. From tight on the cushion it would be a

:06:43. > :06:44.difficult pot but we saw what happened when Judd played that. He

:06:45. > :07:15.knocked it in. He may even play the double. If the

:07:16. > :07:19.double is on, he could go for the black. He has covered it with the

:07:20. > :07:55.blue. Good shot. Ooh, this looks tasty. Ooh, just

:07:56. > :08:04.stopped. Thought it was going to nestle in behind the black. If he

:08:05. > :08:16.can hit this red fairly full, he will just roll into it. No touching

:08:17. > :08:21.ball, there. So a little more difficult for Judd to get the cue

:08:22. > :08:39.ball back to the top cushion behind the black.

:08:40. > :08:56.Sending the red towards the corner pocket. But I don't think a path to

:08:57. > :09:02.it. If it wasn't for the green... The green has come to his rescue.

:09:03. > :09:04.Now, Liang Wenbo having a very close look at these reds to the right

:09:05. > :09:25.middle. Is this a plant? The way you would have to play it,

:09:26. > :09:33.you want to be mighty sure it is a plant. If you went for it, and it

:09:34. > :09:51.didn't go in, it wouldn't be a shot nothing. Ooh, it's just on the right

:09:52. > :09:54.jaw, it seems to me. If they were almost touching, you could turn

:09:55. > :10:07.them. Just looks as though it's on the near jaw. He's decided to take

:10:08. > :10:16.it on. Needs to get it. Decided against it. I don't blame him. I

:10:17. > :10:21.don't think that was a plant... Is he sneaking behind the black? He's

:10:22. > :10:26.got the advantage now. He was almost playing that very risky plant that,

:10:27. > :10:29.to me, was not on. Changed his mind at the last second. Very tough

:10:30. > :10:55.snooker. Just rests on the two reds to the

:10:56. > :11:00.right of the pink. If he just rests on the two red scum he was not

:11:01. > :11:05.leaving a pot on. Yeah, he has tried to come off the side cushion,

:11:06. > :11:11.catching half ball, get the cue ball back to the top cushion. But that

:11:12. > :11:14.was much too risky. I know it was a delicate shot and he may have been

:11:15. > :11:18.thinking, I was going to leave one in the top. But you never want to

:11:19. > :11:25.leave your opponent and easy starter, that's what Judd has done.

:11:26. > :11:29.And when Yang Bo came to the table he already had a 22 point lead. --

:11:30. > :12:02.when Liang Wenbo came to the table. What a chance for Liang Wenbo. Needs

:12:03. > :12:11.to get to 70. He's got 29 of them, of course. Nicely nudging most two

:12:12. > :12:17.reds open. Of course eventually he will have to go for those reds in

:12:18. > :12:24.the baulk end. You wouldn't see those as much of a problem. If he

:12:25. > :12:28.hadn't lost five shots on the trot, you would suggest this was a

:12:29. > :12:37.certainty, but I'm not so sure at the moment. Really having to dig

:12:38. > :12:48.deep, here. It was over one hour ten minutes at one stage. You'd have to

:12:49. > :12:58.think he should win the frame from here. I've got a sneaky feeling, if

:12:59. > :13:57.he does win the frame, I could see it going all the way.

:13:58. > :14:07.The brown will be 53. Three more reds and three colours. That would

:14:08. > :14:38.make the frame safe. Ooh, well, would you believe it?

:14:39. > :14:46.What a mistake. What a mistake that was. Is it only got to miss the

:14:47. > :14:51.green and his perfect on brown. Judd will sit up now and pay attention.

:14:52. > :14:59.OK, this green pots, but it is missable. Should have been on

:15:00. > :15:04.something a lot easier than this. He spotted it, now, where is the cue

:15:05. > :15:09.ball going? Well, it was heading towards the middle pocket but it's

:15:10. > :15:25.OK. But he has not recovered prime position just yet. Good part.

:15:26. > :15:33.Nice flick on the pink has helped with the position. Looked as though

:15:34. > :15:38.he'd found a bit of trouble, but he's recovered. Now just need this

:15:39. > :16:13.blue and one more red. So now 64 points to lead, just 59

:16:14. > :16:17.remaining. Pot this yellow and one more red, and Judd will not come

:16:18. > :17:06.back to the table. He made a foul and he called it

:17:07. > :17:17.himself. Very good sportsmanship for him to say it.

:17:18. > :17:28.He touched the green when he was taking his cue away. There you see

:17:29. > :17:37.it. And he declared it himself. And Judd needs to miss the kiss on the

:17:38. > :17:46.black. He wants the black to bounce. Needs to pot a colour. There is only

:17:47. > :17:59.43 remaining at the moment. So he needs this black. It's not there. He

:18:00. > :18:07.will want to concede. But it's not etiquette to do that when it is your

:18:08. > :18:14.opponent's turn at the table. 61 point behind, 43 remaining. Five

:18:15. > :18:28.four point snooker is needed. He will concede now. Yes. He gave the

:18:29. > :18:33.referee the nod. So, Liang Wenbo almost blew that chance but he held

:18:34. > :18:43.on. It's getting closer and closer. It's 8-8. STUDIO: We thought that

:18:44. > :18:48.Judd was steaming into the second round but Liang Wenbo is still in

:18:49. > :18:52.its. Getting to the nitty-gritty of this match now. Best-of-3 to get to

:18:53. > :19:00.the second round. I still think Judd is favourite. But when it gets to

:19:01. > :19:04.this stage it is anybody's, really. Yeah, I think you would have said

:19:05. > :19:08.Judd Trump is favourite. He's had more experience at the sharp end of

:19:09. > :19:13.events. But now we have the history of Liang Wenbo get into the final

:19:14. > :19:19.stages of the UK championship in relatively recent times. So

:19:20. > :19:24.therefore his stock has risen. It is impossible to make a real opinion.

:19:25. > :19:30.Sometimes it can just be the way the ball scope. Bit of luck helps. Do

:19:31. > :19:35.you think what will be troubling Liang will be the fact he was 6-3

:19:36. > :19:39.ahead, and he may be thinking, I had a really good chance to finish it

:19:40. > :19:44.early. I think he's forgotten that now. The rest of the session has

:19:45. > :19:49.gone. He'll be thinking, I've stopped the rot, got it back to 8-8,

:19:50. > :19:54.and he'll be feeling pretty positive now. Most of the players are not in

:19:55. > :20:00.a similar situation to us or the fans at home, or the people looking

:20:01. > :20:03.at the match unfold and deciding whether turning points are. We are

:20:04. > :20:07.sitting here and analysing turning points but the players are very much

:20:08. > :20:13.in the present. It's just how you place lucre. You play the ball in

:20:14. > :20:18.front of you. Not thinking too much about what has gone on -- how you

:20:19. > :20:23.play snooker. If you lose this match, you go back and think, wow,

:20:24. > :20:28.7-3 up, dodgy double on the green, but at the moment he will not think

:20:29. > :20:32.about it at all. If Judd Trump goes on to win, the fact you are battle

:20:33. > :20:36.hardened, been through the mill to get into the second round, does that

:20:37. > :20:40.hold you in good stead in your experience? I tell you what, a lot

:20:41. > :20:44.of times I had tough first-round matches to overcome players I was

:20:45. > :20:47.supposed to have beaten and just about fallen over the line and it

:20:48. > :20:51.has been the springboard to start to play really good stuff. I won

:20:52. > :20:56.championships after being close to being knocked out of the

:20:57. > :21:03.first-round. Same, yeah. One year I was beating Gary Wilkinson 10-9,

:21:04. > :21:07.50-49 in the final frame. It is a huge weight off your shoulders to

:21:08. > :21:13.get through a match like that, and then you come to a best of 25 and

:21:14. > :21:16.you are so relaxed. I had a tough match against John Virgo, one

:21:17. > :21:20.against Neal Foulds, first round, you never knew what would happen.

:21:21. > :21:28.When it gets down to just three frames left, if you are betting on a

:21:29. > :21:33.three frame outcome, even a player ranked 100 against a player ranked

:21:34. > :21:36.in the top eight, you wouldn't necessarily make them that strong a

:21:37. > :21:42.favourite in best-of-3. It will be interesting to see how they play.

:21:43. > :21:47.Judd Trump will keep attacking. We'll Liang keep attacking? Or will

:21:48. > :21:54.they climb up a bit? Here we go. Liang is back. Back to the

:21:55. > :22:01.commentators. COMMENTATOR: Thanks, boys. This is now all systems

:22:02. > :22:07.tension. Can't do anything different now but to dig deep. Try to play

:22:08. > :22:18.attacking stuff if you can, but make no mistakes. Can't afford any

:22:19. > :22:21.mistakes at this stage. We felt Judd played well in the previous frame,

:22:22. > :22:26.he could have rolled up to the to read but try to play an aggressive

:22:27. > :22:37.safety shot, it didn't work, cost him the frame -- rolled up to the

:22:38. > :22:43.red. He is an aggressive break-builder, sometimes he wants to

:22:44. > :22:52.be an aggressive safety player. Nothing negative about that one. But

:22:53. > :23:05.fraught with danger. So was this pot. There was no path back to

:23:06. > :23:14.baulk. Tremendous pot. I suppose you could he's a little unlucky that the

:23:15. > :23:26.black doesn't pot. Long pot success up at 75%. That's good.

:23:27. > :23:39.No. Pink was tough. First red was tough. But the pressure on that one

:23:40. > :23:48.just seemed to be a lot more cueing in the jaws of the pocket. Never

:23:49. > :23:52.easy. And Liang Wenbo is gifted an opening, and the black is available

:23:53. > :24:05.now into both corners, all will be after he has pot this red.

:24:06. > :24:12.Not the best position or he has played. Probably played for the blue

:24:13. > :24:48.and overhit it. Shouldn't cause too many problems.

:24:49. > :24:59.Yes, played that nicely. Finish nicely on a choice of threats. Can't

:25:00. > :25:09.play for the black -- choice of reds. He will look for the blue.

:25:10. > :25:22.Ooh, he's just about got the angle. This is a good chance, you know. If

:25:23. > :26:07.he can hold himself together. No! Would you believe it? And it

:26:08. > :26:15.begs the question, could he get through to pop that read? -- pot

:26:16. > :26:30.that red? He hit its too thin. Judd will just be glad to be back at

:26:31. > :26:33.the table. But what a chance, because that black is still

:26:34. > :26:41.available into both corners, the reds are nice and loose. His chance

:26:42. > :26:42.to get to nine and one frame away from victory. Liang Wenbo has missed

:26:43. > :27:04.his. Anything but straight on the next

:27:05. > :27:11.black. Nothing in the right hand pocket is available, so he needs an

:27:12. > :27:18.angle. If he can stun it above the black that will open everything up.

:27:19. > :27:27.I would want to move this red and make those other three pot. That's a

:27:28. > :27:32.very poor shot. Think he might have had a result, he's landed on a red

:27:33. > :27:42.to the left middle. Certainly not what he played for, but he will take

:27:43. > :27:50.it. Not quite certain which red he played to cannon but he will be

:27:51. > :28:01.happy to be on this one. But he is short on position. Can he go in

:28:02. > :28:10.between yellow and brown, here? Needs it to slow up, needs it to

:28:11. > :28:16.slow up. Well, he's just about on the red to the middle, but if it's

:28:17. > :28:20.straight, as badly hampered as he is... Touching ball has nothing to

:28:21. > :28:29.do with the shot. But the referee will always call it. But Judd will

:28:30. > :28:38.attempt the pot, you would think, to the middle. At its very awkward, the

:28:39. > :28:45.way it's finished. Ooh, tremendous pot. That was top drawer, believe

:28:46. > :28:51.me. You try striking down like that, just off straight. Couldn't have

:28:52. > :28:58.cued it better. Well played. Yes, going to be left with a red at

:28:59. > :29:03.distance, but the way Judd pots, this should not cause a problem. He

:29:04. > :29:11.could play for blue or black. He will probably decide to play for

:29:12. > :29:16.black. Needs to get to 62. Decided to play for blue. The only reason I

:29:17. > :29:20.didn't think he should was in case he couldn't get the right angle, but

:29:21. > :29:32.he's just about got there. Only one red available, into the opposite

:29:33. > :29:36.corner. Slow down. Hasn't got this cue ball under control at the

:29:37. > :29:44.minute, he's struggling. The pressure is starting to show on both

:29:45. > :29:50.players. And sometimes it shows up not so much in Mr Potts, but the cue

:29:51. > :29:54.ball control. The player when he's under pressure concentrates that

:29:55. > :29:58.much on putting the ball, it's like positional play is secondary in your

:29:59. > :30:06.mind. But you need good positional play if you are going to make

:30:07. > :30:16.frame-winning contributions. Decided to play into the bunch. Should go

:30:17. > :30:28.into a one-frame lead with two to play. Still not in prime position

:30:29. > :30:34.yet, though. Got to be careful he does not screw into the middle

:30:35. > :30:37.pocket. That's why he's coming round to look at an alternative. I think

:30:38. > :30:43.he's got to go for the original choice. Just play short. You don't

:30:44. > :30:53.have to risk getting top side of the blue this time. You don't want to be

:30:54. > :31:04.going in-off. Yes and well, to play between yellow

:31:05. > :31:13.and brown, you have got to put a lot of the left-hand side on. He just

:31:14. > :31:20.crept in. It is perfect now. That blue, thought about it. He hits it

:31:21. > :31:26.slightly too thin. In actual fact too thick, I beg your pardon, but it

:31:27. > :31:44.went in and now the frame is at his mercy.

:31:45. > :32:00.Liang Wenbo, his first chance in this frame.

:32:01. > :32:11.And, he is staring 9-8 down, in it goes. 52 points is the lead, 51

:32:12. > :32:23.remaining but not for long, nicely on this red.

:32:24. > :32:29.Well, not really necessary, just trying to play an exhibition shot,

:32:30. > :32:40.but 53 points in front and 43 remaining. He is coming back, well,

:32:41. > :32:48.OK, three snooker is needed. But why didn't Judd Trump roll the black in?

:32:49. > :32:55.I don't expect him to lose, he won't lose the frame now. Why he has

:32:56. > :33:11.snooker to him on the red, for the red. Just rolled it in.

:33:12. > :33:20.If he can get past the yellow here and pot this red, he can bring the

:33:21. > :33:28.black into play, you need the black into play to get the extra few

:33:29. > :33:37.points. He is on the blue. He didn't play it those. Maybe he couldn't, he

:33:38. > :33:45.is going to check. If he pops the blue, he will go 47 points behind,

:33:46. > :33:52.and 35 remaining. So, it doesn't matter now. He will want to concede,

:33:53. > :33:58.saying that is enough. Of course, he is going to say I like. Judd Trump,

:33:59. > :34:03.has come back, Liang Wenbo had a first chance in that frame but now

:34:04. > :34:11.Judd Trump he's one frame away from victory, leading 9-8. We will have a

:34:12. > :34:15.look at this shot that Liang is left with, at first glance it looks very

:34:16. > :34:22.tight, does he need it to play with a cheque side? He did get down

:34:23. > :34:27.quickly and then he got up and then he changed his mind. I am just

:34:28. > :34:33.thinking, can he get through to the full parting angle. Maybe, he has

:34:34. > :34:40.tried to turn it over, with the right-hand. Being played now, it

:34:41. > :34:46.caught the left-hand jewel, getting the perfect position on the black.

:34:47. > :34:50.That was a red, with the double green, we will remember that read

:34:51. > :34:55.for a long time, he will if he loses this match. White if we were to look

:34:56. > :35:00.at the table situation, as he gets his thoughts together. It is between

:35:01. > :35:05.the years. He played for a red, how many times have we done it, you play

:35:06. > :35:11.for the red and you think of nothing else. If you look around, he did

:35:12. > :35:17.have an easy read, if he could not exactly get to the parting angle.

:35:18. > :35:23.There is the red in the middle, he could have played the outside red as

:35:24. > :35:29.well. But as you can see, he tried to pinch a bit. When he takes his

:35:30. > :35:38.arm away, we will see that there was a red in the middle. See? A little

:35:39. > :35:51.drop-in. Well, could this be the last frame of the match, from

:35:52. > :36:13.pleading, 9-8. Last frame of this match?

:36:14. > :36:32.-- from leading 9-8. To risky, playing a safety. But he has overhit

:36:33. > :36:39.that somewhat. The red is on the line, although, Judd Trump being

:36:40. > :36:44.tempted by something else but the ball is on the line, he has left it

:36:45. > :36:48.in a pottable position, as to whether it is one that you would

:36:49. > :36:57.want to take on or not is another matter, or just play safe of it. He

:36:58. > :37:02.decided to go for the pot and it is a tremendous pot and he is this side

:37:03. > :37:06.of the line, a choice of yellow or brown. He gets first chance in the

:37:07. > :37:28.frame that he needs for a place in the second round.

:37:29. > :37:41.Something has caught his either. He saw a flash in the audience and he

:37:42. > :37:44.did the right thing. It is no good missing the yellow and then

:37:45. > :37:58.complaining that something put you off. If something puts you off, get

:37:59. > :38:04.up and start again. There may be a plant above the back, he wrote even

:38:05. > :38:09.have to make a plant, potting it is the opposite corner. The top one

:38:10. > :38:17.instead, he may not be on this red. That is a mistake. If he cannot pot

:38:18. > :38:29.the right-hand red, that is very poor but I think he can just get to

:38:30. > :38:35.it. Yes, just on it, just about on it. He could have played for the

:38:36. > :38:40.black, so that cue ball is travelling up and down the table. As

:38:41. > :38:47.I say, cue ball control is very important in these press situation

:38:48. > :38:55.is. -- pressure situations. Overscrewed that Spike Lee. -- that

:38:56. > :39:08.slightly. It makes all of the difference. The cue power. Once

:39:09. > :39:14.again, the cue ball, wrong side of the blue again so it will still be

:39:15. > :39:16.travelling, it is straight so he can run through to the red, left of the

:39:17. > :39:48.pink. Good solid pot. Just stopped in his

:39:49. > :39:49.tracks, it is just sticking out, if that is available, into the right

:39:50. > :40:04.corner, but he has not got a good angle on this black. That

:40:05. > :40:09.is why he is looking at the pink. I assume that the pink does not spot,

:40:10. > :40:14.if it doesn't spot, he will have to go to the bottom and there is no

:40:15. > :40:25.room for it there. And no room for it there, surely? Now that is not

:40:26. > :40:34.right in line with the spot. Back a bit. Going to the right a bit. I

:40:35. > :40:39.don't think E can get that in direct line, that isn't in a direct line.

:40:40. > :41:01.He doesn't go there. It is still not in line is it? You

:41:02. > :41:06.can see it is slightly to the left. I mean the referee has put it there,

:41:07. > :41:10.now, Judd Trump is having a look so he might not be able to pot the red,

:41:11. > :41:18.I don't think that the referee has got the pink in the right place. But

:41:19. > :41:25.if he can pot the red, then he won't bother. But it didn't look like it,

:41:26. > :41:30.it went on the spot to me. We saw the cross of the pink spot and we

:41:31. > :41:35.saw the centre of the pink. He's just having another look. He can ask

:41:36. > :41:40.the referee to look. That is nowhere near in line with the spot. In the

:41:41. > :41:45.middle of the cross as you say, it doesn't go, it does not go. He can

:41:46. > :41:50.move it to the left and make the red pottable but the pink should be at

:41:51. > :41:55.the bottom of the cluster. He cannot get that in the middle of the cross.

:41:56. > :41:59.We are corking a quarter of an inch, we're not talking the fraction. He

:42:00. > :42:14.can look behind as much as he likes, look at the cross.

:42:15. > :42:22.I mean the thing is, what is the important thing here for Judd Trump,

:42:23. > :42:26.that pink. OK he can still pot it to the right corner but that pink is

:42:27. > :42:28.blocking a red that would be available into the left corner. It

:42:29. > :42:43.is not in the right place. I mean I can understand football

:42:44. > :42:57.referees getting it wrong but we are talking about a static ball here.

:42:58. > :43:09.He can look like that all he likes, it doesn't mean a thing, she cannot

:43:10. > :43:14.even see the pink. It is a shame this has happened because they are

:43:15. > :43:18.not in line. They are not, that pink is stopping a red be available, he

:43:19. > :43:29.can pot this, but he is blocking another red. Poor decision. What can

:43:30. > :43:30.I say? I'm sat here supposed to be explaining to people what is

:43:31. > :44:04.happening. Terrific pot. Now, that red which is

:44:05. > :44:08.just loose to the clusters, does that go to the right corner? If that

:44:09. > :44:20.does, that is where he will play them. A little shake of the head. He

:44:21. > :44:24.wanted to be a bit low on it, potting it he could disturb red

:44:25. > :44:30.scenario he could get a good angle on the black, you would have

:44:31. > :44:35.thought. So now, this could be the key to the frame and to the match.

:44:36. > :44:40.Will he play the cannon or will he play for the loose red. He is

:44:41. > :44:45.thinking about it, normally he would have no hesitation going into the

:44:46. > :44:54.red. He knows he can have a very useful lead, he is opting out and he

:44:55. > :45:00.is playing for the loose red. Now desperate to get a good angle on the

:45:01. > :45:06.black. Even the blue, it depends which one he fancies. I know he

:45:07. > :45:17.would be certain to be on the black. He has played for the black. He has

:45:18. > :45:22.got an angle to go into the reds. Is that pink set, will he be putting

:45:23. > :45:27.the pink if he catches the outside, no he is worried about knocking the

:45:28. > :45:32.pink into the middle. It is not set exactly, but it could be a reverse

:45:33. > :45:35.plant. This plant will put in 55 points in front with 75 remaining.

:45:36. > :46:07.He has nudged a read out. APPLAUSE That is the pressure. He knew that

:46:08. > :46:10.was possibly match ball. Maybe he should have gone into them a bit

:46:11. > :46:17.sooner when he had the nice angle on the black previously. His choice.

:46:18. > :46:25.Liang Wenbo comes back to the table. There you see it, 55 behind, 75

:46:26. > :46:30.remaining. He is not out of it yet. Putting all of his eggs in the

:46:31. > :46:44.basket, trying to pot it. If this doesn't do it, it is match over. He

:46:45. > :46:49.has played a very telling shot. Looking at the angle, where he could

:46:50. > :46:53.pot the one next to the pink. When you said he was going to play at, I

:46:54. > :46:58.thought you are right, if he doesn't get this then it is match over. He

:46:59. > :47:12.played the right shot, he has played a good one. Now, Judd Trump needs to

:47:13. > :47:19.Mr brown, and it does, and that is an excellent shot. -- needs to miss

:47:20. > :47:25.the brown. It could force a mistake from Liang Wenbo. A little tap on

:47:26. > :47:30.the table, isn't that lovely to see? In a moment like this, a crisis for

:47:31. > :47:32.the young man, he still had thought to tap on the table and say, good

:47:33. > :47:45.shot Judd. Pushing three reds, to the

:47:46. > :47:52.cushioned. He felt that was the anyway he could keep it safe, it is

:47:53. > :47:59.a delicate one. It is just a bit short of pace. He cannot afford to

:48:00. > :48:07.give too many fouls away of course, 59 points behind, 75 remaining. I

:48:08. > :48:23.like that choice of shot. He tried it first time around.

:48:24. > :48:33.That is where it was and that is where it is now, it looks pretty

:48:34. > :48:37.good. You would think you would have to play the same shot, John. I would

:48:38. > :48:44.give it one more go, of course he can only give it one more go, cause

:48:45. > :48:53.it would be three misses. He has reached this time. Well done. OK,

:48:54. > :48:57.he's not going to get a lot of advantage out of it, at least he has

:48:58. > :49:32.not left any thing on, that will cost him the match.

:49:33. > :49:38.Trying to play at aggressively, the reds off the cushion. It is just a

:49:39. > :49:45.kiss on the black comedy may take this read left to the pink, playing

:49:46. > :49:49.a shot to nothing. But, he doesn't want to catch it on the way back, it

:49:50. > :49:59.could be a long pot. It is more important to get a good white here

:50:00. > :50:04.than a read. -- red. And that is a fantastic shot with a clip, you

:50:05. > :50:10.deserve what you get from that shot. And what he has got, is the brown.

:50:11. > :50:19.And maybe just enough angle, brown and one more red needed. It is

:50:20. > :50:25.looking now as if Judd Trump, is going to win this match and he has

:50:26. > :50:29.had to dig deep. He is playing a man on top of his form particularly in

:50:30. > :50:35.the first session. He started this 6-3 down and he went 7-3 down at he

:50:36. > :50:39.never stopped fighting and then all of a sudden to me he started to

:50:40. > :50:47.accuse smoother, and the smoother he cued, the better he looked. It has

:50:48. > :50:53.been a terrific match. And I think, Liang Wenbo, OK the World

:50:54. > :51:00.Championship is basically lost, match of the season. He is down for

:51:01. > :51:06.great things in the game. I am sure that he is. Runner-up in the UK

:51:07. > :51:09.championship. But, Judd Trump will now be sitting down, and that sip of

:51:10. > :51:26.water will taste sweet. He played the cannon on the red near

:51:27. > :51:30.the cushion, he will be close to giving Judd the handshake now, but I

:51:31. > :51:36.have been very impressed with Liang Wenbo, he is improving every time I

:51:37. > :51:40.have seen him. OK, you can ask should he have played the double on

:51:41. > :51:43.the green? But that is the way that he decided to play it. Now, he will

:51:44. > :51:53.want to shake Judge's can. And that is

:51:54. > :51:59.what it means to Judd Trump. There must have been times, in that match

:52:00. > :52:04.where he thought, that he was going to go but Liang Wenbo just could not

:52:05. > :52:09.kill him off and it is Judd Trump who is very relieved, he is through

:52:10. > :52:17.to the second round. He beats Liang Wenbo in a tremendous match by 10-8.

:52:18. > :52:23.Two century break from Liang Wenbo. STUDIO: Not enough, he is out of the

:52:24. > :52:29.World Snooker Championship and you have to say terrific performance,

:52:30. > :52:35.backs to the wall? Very impressive, character, easy at 7-3 down to let

:52:36. > :52:38.it get to him, he has been one of the favourites for the World

:52:39. > :52:42.Championship. He himself will believe that he can win the World

:52:43. > :52:46.Championship, tremendous character. He just goes to show in the first

:52:47. > :52:52.round you cannot write people like Judd Trump off even though he was

:52:53. > :53:01.behind it. He ended the first session 6-3 down. That is right, he

:53:02. > :53:05.did turn up trumps, but, Liang Wenbo, two shots, the decision on

:53:06. > :53:09.the green and then missing what I think is a glaring error. I don't

:53:10. > :53:14.think there was any trouble with the red. I think it went quite easily,

:53:15. > :53:19.he was more interested if he could get on the black. Boast shots, for

:53:20. > :53:23.the rest of the couple of months, Liang Wenbo may have some nightmare

:53:24. > :53:26.is over that. When he goes back to China and the postmortem happens,

:53:27. > :53:30.there will be a lot of analysis on that shot on the green and the

:53:31. > :53:37.decision to double the wall. Absolutely. Let us go and hear from

:53:38. > :53:42.Judd Trump. What a match and what a session Snooker, surely even you at

:53:43. > :53:48.7-3 thought, hang on, this is looking very serious indeed? I was a

:53:49. > :53:54.bit worried last night, I kind through away the last frame, I was a

:53:55. > :53:57.double bit disappointed and I thought, for me to winter night I'm

:53:58. > :54:02.going to have to play some real good snooker and then going 73 down, was

:54:03. > :54:06.really scrappy. Then after that I got some are meant and rarely played

:54:07. > :54:14.some good stuff. Didn't really give him a shot. And then, I just took

:54:15. > :54:18.the ball is ready well, I felt comfortable and relaxed. It seems

:54:19. > :54:23.like, when I had my back against the wall, that is when I fried. Five

:54:24. > :54:27.frames in a row to put yourself back in the driving seat. When you think

:54:28. > :54:32.of how you used to play the game, that was a display of real mental

:54:33. > :54:38.composure. Not too long ago in the past, he probably would have lost,

:54:39. > :54:43.from 7-3 down so the manner you have comeback must have given new real

:54:44. > :54:49.satisfaction? Yes I played some real good snooker, solid snooker, I was

:54:50. > :54:53.not forcing it. I was playing good safeties and forcing the stakes, and

:54:54. > :54:57.I was losing big to Shaun Murphy a couple of years ago, I did up coming

:54:58. > :55:01.back and came back from that one so I took some believe from that but I

:55:02. > :55:05.played real good snooker today. Please do get through. It was a

:55:06. > :55:09.really, really enthralling match to watch. Did it make its value harder

:55:10. > :55:14.that were both in the same stable, that you practice together, you know

:55:15. > :55:18.each other's game inside out? He moved about five months ago so he

:55:19. > :55:22.does not play there any more, after I lost you him in the UK

:55:23. > :55:25.championship by would have been very disappointed to lose again and it

:55:26. > :55:30.was looking like that but I managed to dig in and I cannot wait for the

:55:31. > :55:34.next game now. It does not get any easier with Dane, just before that,

:55:35. > :55:40.you sent out a cheeky tweet saying that the drinks are on you but you

:55:41. > :55:45.cannot go too big, that is only the first round? I'm very happy for this

:55:46. > :55:48.tournament to mean so much, to have the belief, it is so hard because

:55:49. > :55:54.there is so much pressure, no one wants to lose the first game. I

:55:55. > :55:59.didn't want to be the other player, I have had a very good record and

:56:00. > :56:04.luckily I have kept it up. You can put the credit card on hold for just

:56:05. > :56:10.a bit longer, another huge, is huge battle? Another good game, I have

:56:11. > :56:15.played doing a couple of times here and beaten him both times so I had

:56:16. > :56:20.taken a lot of confidence. Watching this first game, you will have to

:56:21. > :56:26.step up. So I am happy to be through and I am just relaxed, and

:56:27. > :56:31.hopefully, the fireworks. Now. Well done today Judd. The thank you. He

:56:32. > :56:35.did promise us all a drink, I have been looking on Twitter, a lot of

:56:36. > :56:39.people have been putting in their drinks orders. Nobody asked him

:56:40. > :56:45.where we were meeting I think it was 7:30pm across the road. Do you think

:56:46. > :56:49.that Judd Trump can win this tournament? He was my tip at the

:56:50. > :56:54.start, I think he is maturing as a person and a player, I think you

:56:55. > :57:01.should have won it by now, now he is starting to take his career a bit

:57:02. > :57:05.more seriously, giving the career the priority he needs it to be, he

:57:06. > :57:13.has gone into the tournament in form having one in China. I think it is

:57:14. > :57:18.6-0 in the semis. But, yes I think he is going to take some beating, he

:57:19. > :57:23.cannot wait to get back in next match. He thumped Dane last year,

:57:24. > :57:28.13-4 and so he will take great confidence from that. Will that be

:57:29. > :57:33.on his mind, an entirely different tournament? I think every time you

:57:34. > :57:37.come to the World Championships it is a different event, no form stays

:57:38. > :57:41.the same and no one person can guarantee to be in the same frame of

:57:42. > :57:45.mind throughout their career. That is one of the fascinations of

:57:46. > :57:49.watching how it unfolds. I think that Judd Trump is very well placed

:57:50. > :57:53.at some stage to win the World Championship. The problem. But as I

:57:54. > :57:56.have mentioned in the past, is that we are judged by the World

:57:57. > :58:00.Championships accessible failures whereas in other sports like golf or

:58:01. > :58:06.tennis, they have the Grand Slam sent you are judged differently. So

:58:07. > :58:10.there is heaps pressure on the World Championship and I suppose, Judd

:58:11. > :58:14.Trump and dinked are both players that we spec to win the World

:58:15. > :58:17.Championships and as yet they are stretching to win their first. We

:58:18. > :58:25.should mention Liang Wenbo comedy has been a terrific competitor, what

:58:26. > :58:33.will he take from this? Straightaway probably not a lot, he has lost and

:58:34. > :58:39.he will be gutted about that. In a more match, this shot, he will be

:58:40. > :58:47.thinking about this. If it goes in day will be saying there is no

:58:48. > :58:52.problem, it is fine for me to talk because I used to take ridiculous

:58:53. > :58:56.shots, I think when you are 7-3 cup, you make your opponent take risks.

:58:57. > :59:04.He will be thinking about that for a while. Players like Liang, will they

:59:05. > :59:08.be watching the tape back? It is not about watching the tape back, he

:59:09. > :59:13.will have it imprinted in his mind, when he is talking to his friends,

:59:14. > :59:17.they will bring it up. It will be there for quite awhile until he gets

:59:18. > :59:22.effectively a chance to rectify it because the question always to

:59:23. > :59:27.happen, is your shot selection good enough? Are you gay good enough

:59:28. > :59:32.tactician. And you look at the likes of a Judd Trump from his youth, now

:59:33. > :59:37.he is a more considered player. You look at the master. John Higgins. He

:59:38. > :59:41.is the person who very rarely makes a tactical mistake and that is the

:59:42. > :59:44.yardstick you are judged by. Thank you very much indeed, the second

:59:45. > :00:01.round got underway. blue this time. You don't want to be

:00:02. > :00:06.going in-off. On the table he's like a sneaky

:00:07. > :00:12.assassin. And he's extremely dangerous. His technique isn't the

:00:13. > :00:17.best but his cue ball control is good at times and he can break as

:00:18. > :00:21.well as anybody. He hits the ball beautiful and he is a great

:00:22. > :00:25.break-builder. When conditions are good, nobody is better in the balls.

:00:26. > :00:32.He's got the ability to score from positions where there's nothing

:00:33. > :00:38.there. He's a great break-builder. Very underrated although he has won

:00:39. > :00:42.majors. He can be unpredictable. At times he looks unpredictable. He can

:00:43. > :00:47.beat any player by any scoreline. You would not be surprised if he

:00:48. > :00:51.beat O'Sullivan 5-0. But the next day he can lose to somebody you

:00:52. > :00:55.wouldn't expect. So laid back, you wouldn't know whether he'd won or

:00:56. > :01:00.lost. One of the best players in the balls at break-building, fantastic

:01:01. > :01:06.guy. Plays a lot of percentages. Very underrated. Great

:01:07. > :01:09.break-builder. He is a threat. Technically very different from the

:01:10. > :01:18.rest of the players. Scores really well. When he plays well he's

:01:19. > :01:23.capable of beating anybody. Yeah, he played very well over Peter Ebdon.

:01:24. > :01:28.Anthony McGill reached the quarterfinals here last year,

:01:29. > :01:32.eventually losing 13-8 to Shaun Murphy. Ranked 30 in the world.

:01:33. > :01:36.Couple of tough qualifiers in the race to get to the Crucible but was

:01:37. > :01:40.brilliant in knocking out Murphy 10-8 in the first round. McGill

:01:41. > :02:02.trailing white 29 points. Has the opportunity to play a

:02:03. > :02:12.cannon. On the red to the left of the two. Played it nicely. Just to

:02:13. > :02:21.open up the reds. Very well controlled. This is a little bit

:02:22. > :02:25.thinner than he would have liked. He would have liked the cue ball to run

:02:26. > :02:31.through another few inches. And the problem with this shot is that he

:02:32. > :02:38.has run into reds. Good chance of developing the pink, here. Trusting

:02:39. > :02:51.to luck a little bit with the cue ball. This black is not easy. It's a

:02:52. > :03:02.tough pot. But if he gets it, it could well be a frame when. -- a

:03:03. > :03:08.frame-winner. It was tough. That was no gimme. Yeah, never easy, are

:03:09. > :03:20.they, when you are that far away from them? Bridging off the side

:03:21. > :03:35.cushion. Marco is having to use the rest here. Such a good rest player.

:03:36. > :03:59.Ooh, well, that's one way of getting on the black, isn't it?

:04:00. > :04:16.Good chance for marker to settle any first-round nerds, which is to be

:04:17. > :04:23.expected from both players. Very important last 16 match in the World

:04:24. > :04:29.Championship -- any first frame nerves. Where you like other players

:04:30. > :04:35.like myself who used to play in any session like the first four frames,

:04:36. > :04:40.try to get a 3-1 frame, and after eight frenzy would be happy 5-3,

:04:41. > :04:44.anything better was a bonus, was that your philosophy? I think that's

:04:45. > :04:49.the intention of many snooker players before they go out and play

:04:50. > :04:52.the session. As you know, with the pressure sometimes it is a question

:04:53. > :04:57.of taking one ball and one frame at a time. Because as we both know,

:04:58. > :05:06.anything and everything can happen on the snooker table and usually

:05:07. > :05:11.does. Absolutely. Marco is still in position here. Both players have

:05:12. > :05:27.missed chances that you would expect them to get. As expected, some

:05:28. > :05:30.nerves. Early part of the match. 50 ahead. Just this red and a colour

:05:31. > :05:56.would be in half. He is timing the ball beautifully,

:05:57. > :06:02.Marco. If you watched the way the cue ball travels, he's not putting a

:06:03. > :06:09.lot of effort into his shots. Really got the cue ball under excellent

:06:10. > :06:13.control. Not one of those players that hits the ball hard either. A

:06:14. > :06:26.lot of times he plays soft little screws, stuns, rolls the ball. He

:06:27. > :06:29.never really hard hits the ball. It's beautiful to watch because he

:06:30. > :06:34.really does have control in amongst the balls. As we both know and both

:06:35. > :06:35.experienced, playing Marco, when he's playing well, he doesn't look

:06:36. > :06:59.as though he can miss. This is a tough red along the

:07:00. > :07:04.petition. The frame won long ago. But he will be wanting this to go in

:07:05. > :07:06.just in case Anthony decides to come back for some match practice. That's

:07:07. > :07:33.a very good shot. Well, lovely shot. Lot right-hand

:07:34. > :07:37.side, there. Well, for somebody that openly says himself that he hasn't

:07:38. > :07:44.got too much cue power, Ken, I think that was a good effort. Wasn't bad,

:07:45. > :07:49.was it? Playing very, very nicely indeed. And he'll be delighted to

:07:50. > :07:51.have ported all these balls, and as you said, keep Anthony McGill in the

:07:52. > :08:02.chair. He had his chance, Anthony McGill,

:08:03. > :08:34.he had a couple of them. That's a nice break of 87 from Marco

:08:35. > :08:41.Fu. Takes the opening frame against Anthony McGill. STUDIO: A very good

:08:42. > :08:47.start for Marco Fu, making his 16th appearance here at the cue ball. In

:08:48. > :08:54.two frame two, Anthony McGill to play, leading by 34 points.

:08:55. > :08:56.COMMENTATOR: This is a tough pot into the middle and is more

:08:57. > :09:10.difficult than it looks on your screen, I promise you. That's a

:09:11. > :09:15.really good shot, well played. They really are nervy sorts of shots to

:09:16. > :09:19.have to play, Ken, aren't they? They are horrible. You can easily make a

:09:20. > :09:32.mistake and hit them thick or thin. He judged that perfectly. Been very

:09:33. > :09:43.precise with his next positional shot. Don't

:09:44. > :09:49.think he can hold the black into the right-hand corner. Looks like he

:09:50. > :09:50.wants to come round the back of the black, maybe back up for pink or

:09:51. > :10:19.blue. He's played it well. Just got a

:10:20. > :10:24.flick on the blue but I think he still has a bit of an angle. Is he

:10:25. > :11:00.above the blue line? Yes. How's this for a positional shot?

:11:01. > :11:06.How is this for a positional shot? Ooh, very unlucky. Great effort.

:11:07. > :11:11.Hard stun, round the angles, lots and lots of right-hand side. Looked

:11:12. > :11:16.for a second as though he would be perfect on the red to the left and

:11:17. > :11:24.below the black. This is a tricky little shocked he has left himself,

:11:25. > :11:32.here. Just off Street. -- trip -- tricky little shot he has left

:11:33. > :11:42.himself here. Just off straight. Needs to pay attention. Well, this

:11:43. > :11:48.is really tough cueing. Well played. That's an excellent shot. That's

:11:49. > :11:57.very, very good cueing. Easy to get a bit of unwanted side on this. He

:11:58. > :11:58.cued that in beautifully. Not straightforward, the way the balls

:11:59. > :12:18.are. Lots of cue power, Anthony McGill.

:12:19. > :12:35.Another very good shot. This is a little tester. Well played. Another

:12:36. > :12:48.very, very good shot. Now can he flick the red above the black away

:12:49. > :12:53.from these two roads? -- these two reds. Maybe looking to push the red

:12:54. > :12:59.towards the middle. He may be looking at pushing the red above the

:13:00. > :13:08.black into the two directly to the left. That's what he tried to do.

:13:09. > :13:12.Just flip off the first red, knock it into the other two, bring them

:13:13. > :13:18.into play, but it's gone wrong. It was a very good effort, Ken, wasn't

:13:19. > :13:23.it? Just wanted a little connection, didn't he? Still got a healthy 56

:13:24. > :13:42.point lead. Burqas a big target of course up

:13:43. > :13:50.behind the brown and yellow -- there is a big target, of course. He has

:13:51. > :13:50.put two reds on to the black cushion, very good shot, well

:13:51. > :14:11.played. Very well worked out safety shot.

:14:12. > :14:26.Could see the red just behind the black.

:14:27. > :14:35.Now, as he left this red? -- has he left?

:14:36. > :15:00.Yeah, good shot. Excellent pot. 57 ahead, 59 remaining. Just the black

:15:01. > :15:49.to get this frame on the board. We've seen some excellent safety in

:15:50. > :15:54.this frame, Ken, from Anthony Gill, to create these chances. He didn't

:15:55. > :15:57.look particularly settled in these first couple of frames but

:15:58. > :16:03.high-quality safety play creates chances against any opponent in the

:16:04. > :16:08.world. Yeah, absolutely. Played a handful of really good safety shots

:16:09. > :16:14.and then forced an error from his opponent on a couple of occasions.

:16:15. > :16:19.He'll be delighted to get his first frame on the ball. You never really

:16:20. > :16:32.settle until you get that first frame on the board. That's a good

:16:33. > :16:37.shot. I think it's going to be a really close match, this, I really

:16:38. > :16:43.do. A lot of quality in store, I think, from both players in this

:16:44. > :16:52.match. It's going to be very fluent, high-scoring. You see all different

:16:53. > :17:02.departments of the game played at a high standard.

:17:03. > :17:15.Anthony McGill, when he gets going, very quickly and fluently, he does

:17:16. > :17:29.not take long iron up his shots. -- eyeing up. He is striking the ball

:17:30. > :17:33.with great authority. Nice little residual shot from pink to the right

:17:34. > :17:47.centre -- positional shot. 65 from Anthony McGill and he gets

:17:48. > :17:54.his first frame on the board. Now it's 1-1. STUDIO: Just the fifth

:17:55. > :17:58.frame Anthony McGill has taken in matches against Marco Fu. Let's now

:17:59. > :18:05.show you what happened in frame three. Marco Fu has fired in a break

:18:06. > :18:11.of 54 and he leads by 62 points. COMMENTATOR: Marco would love to see

:18:12. > :18:20.a red or two go safe onto a cushion now. And if the opportunity arises,

:18:21. > :18:28.he'd love to get baulk position, I mean a baulk colour safe, rather.

:18:29. > :18:33.That's not a bad flick. Although he's not got the cue ball on the

:18:34. > :18:43.baulk cushion, he's put a red relatively safe from the right-hand

:18:44. > :18:50.side cushion. It can be potted if a player gets right behind it.

:18:51. > :18:59.Possible shot to nothing now for Anthony McGill. Well, that's one way

:19:00. > :19:09.to pot it! Well, what a timely fluke for

:19:10. > :19:30.Anthony McGill. If the Queen is potted here, it will

:19:31. > :19:48.go onto the pink spot -- if the green is potted here.

:19:49. > :19:57.Just wondering, has he played this well enough? No, he hasn't. Middle

:19:58. > :20:09.red of those three just left of the green. Just wondering about not

:20:10. > :20:27.putting a baulk colour safe earlier, will it come back to Marco Fu? At

:20:28. > :20:35.this level, a 62 point lead, with your opponent in the balls, you are

:20:36. > :21:10.second favourite. Particularly with nothing safe.

:21:11. > :21:19.Marco Fu will be sitting in his seat at the moment. Thinking possibly

:21:20. > :21:25.that the only thing that could save him from going 2-1 behind in this

:21:26. > :21:37.match is the red on the side cushion.

:21:38. > :21:47.If he gets the cue ball anywhere behind it, I couldn't see him

:21:48. > :21:51.missing. Nice opportunity to get behind that red now. He may play for

:21:52. > :22:17.the loose one and leave the toughest red for last. Yes.

:22:18. > :22:23.He'd like the cue ball there, I'm not quite sure whether he's got the

:22:24. > :22:28.right angle. Maybe he's run slightly too far with the cue ball. Quite a

:22:29. > :22:36.little bit straight on this black. Needs a lot of power. Deciding to

:22:37. > :22:50.take the more difficult green for position. Well, that wiped its feet.

:22:51. > :22:57.And he is short on this red. The only thing in his advantage about

:22:58. > :23:00.finishing so short here, he can play for the black and not have to put a

:23:01. > :23:03.lot of pace into the pot, which would give it every chance.

:23:04. > :23:27.Something like that. Well played. Going to use a lot of right-hand

:23:28. > :23:31.side and top spin to try to get the cue ball close to the yellow.

:23:32. > :23:44.Where's the cue ball going? It's going close to the middle. Ooh. 16

:23:45. > :23:52.behind, 27 on the table. This requires very good cueing. Oh, well,

:23:53. > :24:00.what a shot. How well did he strike that? Excellent shot. He's going to

:24:01. > :24:09.need another good one, here. He's certainly got the cue power. Oh.

:24:10. > :24:15.Don't go behind the pink... Don't go behind the pink! Who put the pink

:24:16. > :24:55.there? It's amazing, Ken, the things that

:24:56. > :25:02.happen on a snooker table, isn't it? It's unbelievable. The cue travel

:25:03. > :25:09.that far. About the only place he couldn't pot the brown. That's not

:25:10. > :25:19.too bad. I don't think that brown passes the pink. He's had another

:25:20. > :25:22.slice of good fortune, there. Yes, this time the pink has come to his

:25:23. > :25:34.rescue instead of hindering his progress.

:25:35. > :25:43.Good safety shot from Marco. Fortuitous kiss on the blue.

:25:44. > :25:47.If Anthony can see this brown, he can't see a lot of it. It's very

:25:48. > :26:07.tight. He'll be hoping to... No, he's

:26:08. > :26:20.playing the swerve. Left-hand side, bending the cue ball round the pink.

:26:21. > :26:28.That's a mistake. This is a tough pot into the middle for Marco. And

:26:29. > :26:37.he'll be canning into the blue. Probably try to push the blue in

:26:38. > :26:42.towards the green pocket. Oh, somehow he managed to miss the

:26:43. > :26:51.cannon. That didn't look possible. Under the circumstances he played

:26:52. > :26:53.that really well. Just the blue. To win this absorbing frame. Could have

:26:54. > :27:19.gone either way. He'll be delighted, Marco Fu, to

:27:20. > :27:34.drop the blue in. 20 had now with just 13 remaining -- 20 ahead now.

:27:35. > :27:39.Anthony McGill is going to have a look. He needs to snooker is. He's

:27:40. > :27:44.not going to continue. He says that enough. Marco Fu almost lost the

:27:45. > :27:46.frame but managed a good brown and blue in the end and takes a 2-1

:27:47. > :28:55.lead. STUDIO: One other statistic, he has

:28:56. > :29:02.a 100% record against the young Scotsman.

:29:03. > :29:12.We join it with Anthony McGill to play, and his leading.

:29:13. > :29:20.COMMENTATOR: But Anthony isn't punishing him. I think, Ken, it's a

:29:21. > :29:43.case that they've dragged each other down in this match so far, really.

:29:44. > :29:51.I'm sure Shaun Murphy is watching this match at home as well. He'll be

:29:52. > :29:57.wishing he played like this against him in the last round. That's the

:29:58. > :30:00.way it goes sometimes. Now an opportunity for a pot into this

:30:01. > :30:01.left-hand corner pocket, screw the cue ball around, looking for the

:30:02. > :30:19.blues. Quite a long way away, quite

:30:20. > :30:25.fortunate, he goes around to see if he has got the cover. The red out of

:30:26. > :30:32.the middle. He gets the cover and then he puts his hand up to

:30:33. > :30:36.apologise. LAUGHTER We can promise you that one of these

:30:37. > :30:39.players will win this match to reach the Court of final spot at the

:30:40. > :32:06.moment we have no idea which one it will be. -- the quarterfinals.

:32:07. > :32:55.One. Very good shot, tight under the cushion.

:32:56. > :33:10.This has been quite a tough session for both players so far.

:33:11. > :33:17.Anthony McGill just needs this red, and Marco Fu

:33:18. > :33:32.would need a smooth car. So we are going to 4-3, two Marco Fu. Given

:33:33. > :33:41.the way that both players have struggled this afternoon, the final

:33:42. > :33:53.frame, the next frame rather, is really important.

:33:54. > :34:09.STUDIO: So Anthony McGill gets back into this tie, let us show you what

:34:10. > :34:43.happened in frame eight, and it is McGill to play.

:34:44. > :35:02.Lovely man, love the snooker. Sadly missed.

:35:03. > :35:16.This is one of these situations, where the player would like to see

:35:17. > :35:27.how it will hit the ball, the safety, screwing off the reds,

:35:28. > :35:34.trying to get it on the black. What you don't want to do is hit the

:35:35. > :35:46.black. He has left an opportunity now for Marco into the left-centre.

:35:47. > :35:59.I was just looking through Marco's Crucible record here. It is highly

:36:00. > :36:05.surprising. To find that Marco has had 1/4-final, and that is a

:36:06. > :36:10.fantastic pot. Marco has had 1/4-final and one semifinal, but

:36:11. > :36:15.only in all of the years he has been here, for players as good as him,

:36:16. > :36:21.you would never have said that? He has lost a lot of second-round

:36:22. > :36:29.matches, the closest he came was a semifinal against you. As you

:36:30. > :36:38.mentioned earlier, that was a deep screw shot with the right hand side.

:36:39. > :36:45.He looks in. Body movement again. Really struggling with power today.

:36:46. > :36:47.I feel, crept into bad habits again this afternoon. Lifting on the shot,

:36:48. > :37:08.under pressure. Played almost perfect snooker, in

:37:09. > :37:15.his first round match. Did precious little wrong, hardly missed a long

:37:16. > :37:20.ball. Scored really well where the safety was excellent, his temp over

:37:21. > :37:32.was wonderful. Keeping really still on the shots. And so far in this

:37:33. > :37:43.match, he has looked a shadow of that player that we saw in the first

:37:44. > :37:48.round here. That is the beauty of the matches, you have got plenty of

:37:49. > :37:53.time to turn things around if you have got 12 things going wrong, or

:37:54. > :37:57.whoever is in the corner. It is always important to have somebody in

:37:58. > :38:08.your corner, watching what is going on so that you can get some

:38:09. > :38:15.feedback. Absolutely. Either that or you just took it all out of him.

:38:16. > :38:19.That was a good recovery from Anthony McGill, back in prime

:38:20. > :38:21.position. I don't think that was the case because I was sitting down all

:38:22. > :38:40.of the time. Will he be happy taking all of the

:38:41. > :38:43.loose roads? Getting the opportunity to get the black back on its spot.

:38:44. > :39:08.-- loose . It looks like he's just going to

:39:09. > :39:15.concentrate on the blue. After a few shots on the pink. Loose roads, he

:39:16. > :39:48.is building up a lead all of the time. -- loose

:39:49. > :42:10.Well he has kept it, you can see it, hate blues and

:42:11. > :42:23.And one brown. Moving ever closer to that winning margin. The yellow will

:42:24. > :42:37.put him 55 ahead with 51 on the table. So this and one more red.

:42:38. > :42:47.Well... Can you believe it? Can you believe he could miss a yellow like

:42:48. > :42:52.that? Wow. What a chance and what a chance for Marco Fu now. What can he

:42:53. > :43:43.do? Well, he has come through the gap on

:43:44. > :43:49.the way down, missed the reds on the way back. Getting a little clip of

:43:50. > :44:19.those two reds that were close together. Pretty close.

:44:20. > :44:36.It is not a bad safety shot from Marco. He will be very disappointed

:44:37. > :44:45.with that contribution. This is a huge frame, the difference between

:44:46. > :44:55.5-3 and 4-4. Well, can you believe that?

:44:56. > :45:01.Quite fortunate not to leave a free ball there. Especially, with the

:45:02. > :45:15.yellow very close to the yellow pocket. Four points, it is very

:45:16. > :45:19.valuable. That four points, he would have needed at least three reds and

:45:20. > :45:55.three pinks and all of the colours. A little bit of leeway.

:45:56. > :46:14.This is a thin one. But not quite that thin. Now then.

:46:15. > :46:23.Of course, the referee will have two warn that, too McGill, he cannot

:46:24. > :46:27.afford to miss the red. You heard the referee, if he does not hit the

:46:28. > :46:37.red this time, he will forfeit the frame.

:46:38. > :47:18.He can't possibly play the same shot, surely?

:47:19. > :47:28.He changes his shot selection, he doesn't want to missed you. Well, --

:47:29. > :47:38.to miscue. That wasn't very good at all.

:47:39. > :47:52.Marco with an excellent chance now, to clear. To finish this session,

:47:53. > :47:59.leading 5-3. Considering the way that he struggled technically this

:48:00. > :48:08.afternoon, I think he will be relieved rather than pleased. You

:48:09. > :48:16.are putting it mildly Peter, that would be absolutely ecstatic. He is

:48:17. > :48:32.just checking the school, he has got a lot of points to play with here.

:48:33. > :48:37.42, 43 left on the table. That is a poor shot. Again quite a lot of

:48:38. > :48:41.movement can, it has been very noticeable this afternoon, that

:48:42. > :48:45.Marco has moved on shots and not manage to keep still. He's not

:48:46. > :48:49.getting through the ball the same and he's not getting the reaction

:48:50. > :49:10.through the cue ball. A lot of movement on the shot there.

:49:11. > :49:27.It is just the pace. Helping that dropping, for a minute, looking like

:49:28. > :49:32.it was going a bit wide. It was the poor shot that he played previously.

:49:33. > :49:39.To put himself under pressure are necessarily there, Marco. Any more

:49:40. > :49:52.pace and that blue would not have gone into the green pocket. Just a

:49:53. > :50:05.little bit wide. There you see it, 21 behind, 27 on the table.

:50:06. > :50:25.It is a bit low on the yellow, a bit further away than he would have

:50:26. > :50:40.liked. Very good. Now, the difficulty is brown to blue, a bit

:50:41. > :50:51.of difficulty, from pink to black. He is OK.

:50:52. > :51:24.Now pink to black. Here is Anthony McGill's only chance.

:51:25. > :51:40.So, for a 5-3 lead and what a good clearance this would be. Excellent.

:51:41. > :51:44.For Marco Fu. He didn't play at his best but I'm sure there is a lot

:51:45. > :51:48.better to come from both players, in the next session but it is Marco Fu

:51:49. > :51:57.who finishes the session 5-3 in the lead. Marco Fu has not been past the

:51:58. > :52:01.second round since 2006. Steady as the boy said, he missed a few, we

:52:02. > :52:05.are talking about the shots that Liang Wenbo missed, I think Anthony

:52:06. > :52:11.McGill may not have a good night to night thinking about the Geller and

:52:12. > :52:15.the rest. Anthony has struggled, against

:52:16. > :52:22.players in the top 16 this season? Yes, but perhaps he has got a bit of

:52:23. > :52:28.Crucible confidence because of his past. Marco Fu is looking to use

:52:29. > :52:32.this as a springboard, with a 5-3 lead you would expect to try and

:52:33. > :52:38.push on but I think Anthony McGill is quite a tough player. They might

:52:39. > :52:41.cancel each other out, they are quite tactically sound. Marco Fu I

:52:42. > :52:46.thought did quite well even though it looks like he was wobbling a bit,

:52:47. > :52:50.to play a shot and you don't hit it well and then you start to wonder

:52:51. > :52:55.about how you will play the next shot. And the next shot only goes in

:52:56. > :52:59.the side of the pocket and you start to worry about it and you hold

:53:00. > :53:03.yourself together. Shaun Murphy was full of praise for Anthony McGill

:53:04. > :53:09.when he knocked him out. He played ever so well, can that some

:53:10. > :53:16.happen sometimes, that you don't play as consistently? I think that

:53:17. > :53:21.he likes the big occasion, he likes being a top player. No disrespect to

:53:22. > :53:25.Marco, maybe a slight anticlimax playing Marco Fu in the second

:53:26. > :53:30.round, that could make him a little bit flat. But he is still very much

:53:31. > :53:34.in the match, sessions to go and it was pretty even, if he pots that

:53:35. > :53:39.yellow with the wrist, you would think more certainly not writing

:53:40. > :53:43.Anthony McGill off, that is a second-round match, there is only

:53:44. > :53:47.one first-round match remaining. This is what happened in the first

:53:48. > :54:00.session, Joe Parry ranked number ten in the world, against Kyren Wilson,

:54:01. > :54:13.a qualifier. MUSIC is a good opener. Joe Parry takes the opening frame.

:54:14. > :54:31.The response, he clears it, this is the deficit to 2-1. He leads Kara

:54:32. > :54:44.Wilson. Why 3-1. -- by 3-1. Very good. Joe Perry goes two clear

:54:45. > :54:56.again, he leads 4-2. He might have to play for the 147. If this goes

:54:57. > :55:00.in, he has got a chance, it is in! What a shame, he just finished too

:55:01. > :55:15.long on the black, a great, great break for Kyren Wilson. One frame of

:55:16. > :55:25.recession. Good pot. He has just missed the red, it was Joe Perry who

:55:26. > :55:31.walks out. Kyren Wilson will be disappointed, he leads Joe Perry

:55:32. > :55:36.5-4. Ken is bang on, Joe Perry very disappointing this evening, let us

:55:37. > :55:41.not forget, joke it is a bit of again? A much improved player, a

:55:42. > :55:47.future top 16 player without a doubt, scoring very well. Very good

:55:48. > :55:51.among the pink and black, to be 4-2 up, you are now thinking about how

:55:52. > :55:56.big a lead you will have. Where you impressed with him last night? Dew I

:55:57. > :56:00.am very impressed with him as a player, ye has got a strong cue

:56:01. > :56:06.action, a sensible head on his shoulders. He is a new breed player

:56:07. > :56:10.who very quickly as already won a ranking event. Sometimes players

:56:11. > :56:14.promise a lot but don't deliver, I think he is a very strong player all

:56:15. > :56:19.around. I think the type of player that Joe will struggle against. Do

:56:20. > :56:26.you think that Wilson can seal the deal? The longer it goes on and that

:56:27. > :56:30.Kyren Wilson, he knows what it is like at the Crucible Theatre. If he

:56:31. > :56:34.just beat Joe Perry, I'm not saying he doesn't have a chance, great

:56:35. > :56:39.player, but it Kyren Wilson wins, you could see him doing some damage.

:56:40. > :56:44.Another match which is a first round match, and we have got a

:56:45. > :56:49.second-round match Marco Fu against Anthony McGill, and also we have got

:56:50. > :56:56.Alan McManus, against Stephen Maguire. 73 Crucible matches between

:56:57. > :57:01.them. I cannot say how highly I regard Alan McManus. It is his

:57:02. > :57:05.second career. He was in the wilderness for years, Ali Carter

:57:06. > :57:09.will see this as a good crore, he will see this as a chance to get to

:57:10. > :57:18.the quarterfinal. Alan McManus is so tough to beat. And Ali Carter beat

:57:19. > :57:22.him last year? Yes, and Ali Carter had a fantastic first match, it will

:57:23. > :57:28.be interesting but underestimate Alan McManus actual player or

:57:29. > :57:32.because he is a clever player. I was going through social media, he has

:57:33. > :57:38.got so much support online Ali Carter? And what he has been through

:57:39. > :57:42.in the last two or three years, and to be back here competing at the

:57:43. > :57:48.Crucible, just talking as a Crucible player he has got a game to go a

:57:49. > :57:54.long way, so he has got the game to do really well. We have just heard

:57:55. > :57:58.that Judd Trump, we saw him beat Liang Wenbo, he promised everybody

:57:59. > :58:04.on twitter that he will buy the drinks, we find out that he has put

:58:05. > :58:12.?200 behind a local bar. Is it a minibar? He won't tell anybody which

:58:13. > :58:16.Bartlett is behind. Boys I really enjoyed your company today, thank

:58:17. > :58:22.you very much indeed, Hazel will be back at 1115 to night, and you can

:58:23. > :58:27.keep right up to date through the BBC sport at. Thank you very much

:58:28. > :58:49.indeed, we will see you soon. -- BBC sport application.
