:00:34. > :00:43.Good morning. Welcome to the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Can

:00:44. > :00:48.you believe it is day 11 of the 20 16th Betfred World Championship.

:00:49. > :00:51.Another big name has gone, Ronnie O'Sullivan knocked out by Barry

:00:52. > :00:55.Hawkins in late-night drama last night which means the 2014 world

:00:56. > :01:08.champion Mark Selby is one of the favourites to lift the title again.

:01:09. > :01:14.Mark Selby 2014 world champion, three times Masters champion, a

:01:15. > :01:18.formidable match clear. He is in the mould of John Higgins. Every

:01:19. > :01:24.department of his game is top notch. He is very difficult to beat. He

:01:25. > :01:31.plays a lot of superior tactical shots. A very clever player. Amongst

:01:32. > :01:38.the best in the world. A very formidable opponent. As kids there

:01:39. > :01:43.is a lot written about how we are good mates of the table. We came

:01:44. > :01:48.through the juniors together. As a child he was as tactically aware as

:01:49. > :01:55.he is now. He practised a lot with Willie thought and other

:01:56. > :02:00.professionals. He learned the right from the wrong shots and as a kid he

:02:01. > :02:06.always played the right tactical shot but he could not score like we

:02:07. > :02:11.could score at the time. Towards his late teens he learned how to score.

:02:12. > :02:21.Very accurate, position like, Sir John Mike. Good pure power. The

:02:22. > :02:25.movement, head movement, swaying backwards and forwards before he

:02:26. > :02:31.plays the shot. It is only before, in the build-up. It is his whole

:02:32. > :02:37.upper body that moves. It looks like head movement but as he's ways to

:02:38. > :02:52.add through with the cue. -- he's ways back and forth. For him to undo

:02:53. > :02:56.that would prove him a problem. One of the biggest problems is

:02:57. > :03:02.confidence in himself. Even though he has won so much and has been up

:03:03. > :03:07.there on top of the game I do not think like some of the other players

:03:08. > :03:12.he has that ultimate beliefs every time he goes out there, in himself,

:03:13. > :03:17.which he should do. I would not say he is overconfident. He is very

:03:18. > :03:27.technically minded, interested in the technique of how to strike a

:03:28. > :03:31.snooker ball. How many feathers he has, length of backswing, that type

:03:32. > :03:38.of thing, he is constantly looking for the secret ingredient, whereas

:03:39. > :03:45.the sat back and realised he has achieved everything he could have

:03:46. > :03:48.wanted to he be all right. Mark Selby, who left it very latency

:03:49. > :03:56.of the qualifier Sam Baird on Saturday night, lines up against

:03:57. > :04:01.Kyren Wilson. A man who had to play three matches before getting to the

:04:02. > :04:06.Crucible. Also in won his first ranking title in Shanghai this

:04:07. > :04:11.season. How will he be filling this morning on the biggest stage of all?

:04:12. > :04:18.He knocked out Mark Allen. Will he be the shock story of this year's

:04:19. > :04:23.tournament? On the other table, Mark Williams, twice a day and at the

:04:24. > :04:33.tournament, looking very relaxed. He takes on Ding Junhui. He is in the

:04:34. > :04:39.World Snooker offers. The players are ready. Let us say good morning

:04:40. > :04:44.to Rob Walker. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. We started last

:04:45. > :04:49.Saturday with 32 of the best players in the world and eight remain.

:04:50. > :04:56.Welcome to the quarterfinals of this year's Betfred World Championship.

:04:57. > :05:10.We will be entertaining you in fine style over the next couple of days.

:05:11. > :05:17.Please welcome a player whose achievements have inspired a new

:05:18. > :05:23.generation of snooker fans back home. Winner of 11 ranking titles in

:05:24. > :05:27.all, this year he has done it the hard way, coming through qualifying

:05:28. > :05:31.to book a fourth Crucible quarterfinal, beating Judd Trump

:05:32. > :05:34.yesterday, he will be full of confidence, the Chinese dragon, Ding

:05:35. > :06:02.Junhui! His opponent, a player who first

:06:03. > :06:06.appeared in" a final 18 years ago, pricey champion of the world, he is

:06:07. > :06:10.without doubt one of the finest sportsmen his country has ever

:06:11. > :06:14.produced. After victories over Graeme Dott and Michael Holt, one of

:06:15. > :06:18.the most laid-back characters in the sport, the Welsh legend Mark

:06:19. > :06:40.Williams! On table two, please welcome a

:06:41. > :06:43.player who this week joins the sport's elite, after a brilliant

:06:44. > :06:50.second round win over Mark Allen he has climbed into the wild's top 16

:06:51. > :06:53.for the first time as he can test his first Crucible quarterfinal. A

:06:54. > :07:12.fabulous fortnight so far for the warrior Kyren Wilson.

:07:13. > :07:27.Multiple Masters champion, UK champion, completed snooker's

:07:28. > :07:33.trouble-prone winning the big one here two years ago, his finest

:07:34. > :07:35.moment in the sport so far, the world number one, the Jester from

:07:36. > :08:04.Leicester, Mark Selby! We are ready for another great day

:08:05. > :08:08.of snooker in Sheffield. Mark Williams against Ding Junhui is

:08:09. > :08:18.available on the red button. With John Virgo and Peter Ebdon. We have

:08:19. > :08:30.Mark Selby against Kyren Wilson. Good morning to Stephen Hendry.

:08:31. > :08:38.Kyren Wilson breaking of what is going to be very interesting match.

:08:39. > :08:45.Contrasting styles. Been very aggressive in this World

:08:46. > :08:51.Championships so far. Mark Selby used to be very aggressive player

:08:52. > :09:05.but seems to rely on a containing sort of game. He is capable of

:09:06. > :09:10.scoring very heavily. He goes out and sees how things go. He is very

:09:11. > :09:23.good at winning when he is not at his best. That is for sure.

:09:24. > :09:32.Different challenge, this, for Kyren Wilson. Beat Mark Allen in the last

:09:33. > :11:18.match. Mark is very aggressive. A quick player.

:11:19. > :11:39.He has overdone mat. It must have caught the second red. You can see

:11:40. > :11:44.it pretty full. I am not sure if he is looking for the brown in the

:11:45. > :11:55.middle. He has got his aggressive head-on.

:11:56. > :12:12.What is striking that was. This was not a given by any stretch. I think

:12:13. > :12:20.this will be a good test of Kyren Wilson, this match. Mark Selby is

:12:21. > :12:25.going to be tough but he is the toughest match player out there,

:12:26. > :12:32.even when he is not scoring, he manages to find wins. With his

:12:33. > :13:00.second or third game. Do you think with Ronnie O'Sullivan

:13:01. > :13:06.going out the other players fancy their chances more? Yes, I should

:13:07. > :13:14.think so. A lot of the big seeds have gone out, not just Ronnie

:13:15. > :13:17.O'Sullivan. You felt as if if Ronnie O'Sullivan got to the semi-finals he

:13:18. > :13:21.would be strong favourite. Believe a lot of good players in. A few of the

:13:22. > :13:39.old days, the over 40s. My old friend Mark Williams is still

:13:40. > :13:47.in fighting away. Looking as focused as ever this morning. What do you

:13:48. > :13:52.mean old? I think this young man at the table has impressed me a lot

:13:53. > :13:58.this tournament. I think he will fancy his chances in this event. He

:13:59. > :14:05.looks very confident indeed. Very impressed with his play. Very

:14:06. > :14:11.aggressive. In his first two matches he has been able to pot himself out

:14:12. > :14:28.of trouble. It has been great to watch.

:14:29. > :14:54.Did not pot it. Good shot. Pink or black. Once again he has slightly

:14:55. > :16:41.overscrewed but he is better up there.

:16:42. > :16:46.He will be trying to stamp his authority on this match early on,

:16:47. > :17:09.Mark Selby, as the world number one. That was a nice position or shot.

:17:10. > :18:59.Finishing dead straight you have to screw back for the blue.

:19:00. > :19:20.After that pot, excellent cueing. He will be trying to imagine he can

:19:21. > :19:21.make a cannon on the pink. He wants to hit the red between the pink and

:19:22. > :19:35.black. He obviously felt the angle was too

:19:36. > :19:39.thin on the black. I thought he could still have made that shot. It

:19:40. > :20:51.has turned out well. He could play a cannon here, the red

:20:52. > :20:54.closest to the middle pocket. He has just missed the cannon. He wants

:20:55. > :21:07.that cue ball to stop. Quite a big target with the red just

:21:08. > :21:29.off of the cushion. He is having a look. If it is tight

:21:30. > :21:38.on the cushion, which it is, the one closest to the corner, he might be

:21:39. > :21:41.tempted. If it was just off of the cushion I would not see him taking

:21:42. > :21:47.this on but because it is tight it makes the pot a little bit easier.

:21:48. > :21:55.There is just a little bit between the red and aggression. -- the

:21:56. > :22:07.ocean. You could not say he played negatively.

:22:08. > :22:34.Half expected him to make that one. A bit early in the day yet perhaps

:22:35. > :23:32.for those type of shots. A bit more time on the table.

:23:33. > :23:46.Another good pot. Pretty tough to win with room from this visit.

:23:47. > :23:48.Looking so confident at the moment he sees any visit to the table as

:23:49. > :24:30.the chance to win the frame. He has a good air of confidence

:24:31. > :24:34.around the table, Kyren Wilson, something almost bordering on

:24:35. > :24:36.arrogance, that is too strong a word, but that is what you need.

:24:37. > :24:57.That is what has impressed me. Nice play to leave himself the

:24:58. > :25:01.double. The angle he has got to cannot play at as a shot to nothing

:25:02. > :25:16.so he is not going to play the double. He is going for the double.

:25:17. > :25:18.It was not really 100% effort because of the speed he played it

:25:19. > :26:27.at. He overhit that a bit. Put a fast

:26:28. > :26:40.one in. He heads the ball quite hard. -- hits.

:26:41. > :27:30.That is the third or fourth shot that Mark Selby has overscrewed this

:27:31. > :27:38.morning. Maybe it is that time of day again, that you were talking

:27:39. > :27:44.about. It is only the long ones that are harder in the morning. You are

:27:45. > :27:57.not a week. You cannot see. We would expect them to start halting about

:27:58. > :28:17.11am? Something like that? -- potting.

:28:18. > :28:25.Controlled that one nicely. 22 ahead. 22 on the table. Just this

:28:26. > :28:42.brown. It has taken him four or five

:28:43. > :28:44.opportunities but finally Mark Selby looks as if he has taken his first

:28:45. > :29:08.frame. Not going to bother with the pink.

:29:09. > :29:20.Mark Selby, the favourite, the world number one, takes the first frame of

:29:21. > :29:27.this quarterfinal. We were talking about Mark Selby overscrewing shots.

:29:28. > :29:33.We have a couple of examples. He is one of the best exponent in the game

:29:34. > :29:37.of the screw shot. I've got the table might have been uncovered last

:29:38. > :29:42.night because you are getting such area action this morning off of the

:29:43. > :29:52.cue ball. He has overscrewed this one by about a foot. Maybe has

:29:53. > :30:05.alarmed did not go off on time this morning. That long shot you

:30:06. > :30:11.mentioned of Kyren Wilson. When you miss long shots it looks as if you

:30:12. > :30:18.have hit them hard. He is a powerful striker of the ball.

:30:19. > :30:34.This is the one. If it goes in... Nobody says a word. But miss it by

:30:35. > :30:39.that distance. And it bounces around. Unfortunate to leave it. Was

:30:40. > :31:01.easy for Mark Selby. Mark Selby breaks off in the second

:31:02. > :31:10.frame. O'Sullivan out so he's the favourite. 10/3. Kyren Wilson, 11/1

:31:11. > :31:42.for this tournament. These are the shots he's played well

:31:43. > :31:52.so far. Risky shot. Made a lot of them. Close. On the black if it had

:31:53. > :32:00.gone on. Has he left anything on for Mark Selby? Having a look at the red

:32:01. > :34:32.in the middle. Must be tight. Blue, pink and black to play for

:34:33. > :34:43.there. Good angle. Needs to get the red out of the way of the black. Bit

:34:44. > :34:52.of a nuisance. Don't know if it is pottable to the left. He'll want

:34:53. > :36:11.that as soon as possible. Finished low on the black here.

:36:12. > :36:29.Red at the back of the pack... Will release a red to the right. Bit of

:36:30. > :36:37.insurance. An angle on the black will make a bigger target. Might

:36:38. > :36:49.have landed with enough, to come off the cushion? I was sure he played to

:36:50. > :37:03.land low on the black. Red to black, last one, was poor, for me.

:37:04. > :37:16.Started off well in the first frame then broke down. Same again. You

:37:17. > :37:29.have to say, not the best safety shot from Mark Selby.

:37:30. > :38:12.Looks like a natural angle. Gap between red and black, but had stun

:38:13. > :38:23.on it. Made it harder. Hasn't been lucky. Big part of the game, that,

:38:24. > :38:36.when your opponent misses. Leaves you it, or covers it. Changes things

:38:37. > :38:50.quickly. A bad shot could gain you an advantage. Kyren Wilson didn't

:38:51. > :38:52.play a good safety, but forced Mark Selby to take it on. It was a

:38:53. > :40:24.pressure shot. That was horrendous contact. Bounce

:40:25. > :40:36.as soon as the cue ball hits it. All the pace out of it.

:40:37. > :40:49.Soul destroying for a snooker player, when that happens!

:40:50. > :40:50.Especially when you have a chance. Black is still pottable. Off two

:40:51. > :41:20.cushions. Nice pot. But needs another good

:41:21. > :41:39.one. Playing into the Reds. Wanted a thicker contact. This is a tester!

:41:40. > :43:04.Very well played. Tough shot, that. Took the black with a lot offside.

:43:05. > :43:29.Didn't quite turn out as intended. Another half awkward red...

:43:30. > :43:39.Missable. He knew he should have got better position. Yeah. Never had the

:43:40. > :43:49.cue ball under control. Unfortunate with the kick, but... After that...

:43:50. > :43:58.Never had pinpoint position. And he has to take his chances, Kyren

:43:59. > :44:06.Wilson because if it goes tactical, scrappy, you have to fancy Mark

:44:07. > :44:43.Selby for the majority of those. Good shot there.

:44:44. > :45:03.Not 100% sure what he played there... Thin edge of the red on the

:45:04. > :45:10.left? And he hit the pink. Skim off that? Not an easy escape. Could

:45:11. > :45:31.leave something on if he's not careful. Here we go.

:45:32. > :46:02.I bow to your superior knowledge, Terry!

:46:03. > :46:11.That's one of the poorest safety shots I've ever seen Mark Selby

:46:12. > :46:48.play! Nowhere near the pink, the cue ball.

:46:49. > :46:58.Forced himself into playing a pot, possibly. Long yellow? Safe place

:46:59. > :47:34.for the cue ball, the yellow pocket. Taken a few risky shots on. That's

:47:35. > :47:40.the way he plays. Missing them won't bother him. But the distances he's

:47:41. > :47:52.missing by will. Miss it or you pot it!

:47:53. > :48:11.I think when you miss it by a mile, you've hit it bad. All in,

:48:12. > :48:12.disappointed to miss. I cannot believe I am loving this demented

:48:13. > :48:56.with you. -- having this argument. Great effort. Can't get enough of

:48:57. > :49:58.the red to stun the cue ball, snooker. Send the red to baulk.

:49:59. > :50:08.Played that off two cushions to knock the red down the table. Missed

:50:09. > :51:10.completely. 21 points, the difference. Mark Selby in front.

:51:11. > :51:19.Just needs the yellow. But going over the brown has made it more

:51:20. > :51:32.difficult. Asking for the spider. Looks as if he's playing a safety.

:51:33. > :52:07.Behind the black? That's so tough. Even when he's not

:52:08. > :52:15.scoring heavy, he still wins such a high percentage of frames. Why it's

:52:16. > :52:24.going to be a big test for Kyren Wilson. Good hit. Big test of his

:52:25. > :53:36.game and patience. Pink and black, not easy to play a

:53:37. > :53:37.good safety from here. 27 behind. So can only tie. Second favourite at

:53:38. > :54:06.the moment. Not his best, that. Blue is OK.

:54:07. > :54:10.Tight on that cushion and tougher to clear up. Mark Selby could take it

:54:11. > :55:04.on... Didn't get close! Hard to say if he took that one or

:55:05. > :55:25.not. Got the snooker! May force a chance out of Mark Selby.

:55:26. > :55:34.Look at his hand. Wiping something. Left hand. Not sure what happened.

:55:35. > :55:45.His bridge hand. How good is this? Great shot! This

:55:46. > :56:49.is nasty! Doesn't give a miss. Because it's 27

:56:50. > :57:00.points. They change that rule. Used to be a miss... Now, makes a big

:57:01. > :57:45.difference. Tough shot to get out of.

:57:46. > :58:14.Clever shot. Deliberately used the blue. Snooker.

:58:15. > :58:27.Has it run far enough? Got the potting angle? Even if he can't see

:58:28. > :58:52.it, can play a good snooker. Bit of left hand side on that.

:58:53. > :59:10.Couldn't quite get the potting angle. That's the important one.

:59:11. > :59:24.Nothing special so far. Good safety. Few small breaks.

:59:25. > :00:33.28 minutes. It goes to Mark Selby and he leads 2-0.

:00:34. > :00:47.Kyren Wilson breaks of in frame three. Never had an idea what sort

:00:48. > :00:52.of match he was in for this morning, if not, those first few frames are

:00:53. > :01:04.going to give him a clue. Get the frames won early or you are going to

:01:05. > :01:11.end up in a small tactical battle. -- slow. He never seems to lose many

:01:12. > :02:44.of those frames, Mark Selby, those slow tactical frames, so clever.

:02:45. > :02:57.Good try. I think he was concentrating on the cue ball as

:02:58. > :03:10.well, but he can get on a baulk colour and get started. 25%, Kyren

:03:11. > :03:26.Wilson. Not great at the moment but I am sure they will warm up.

:03:27. > :03:42.As the yellow cup to Mark Selby's rescue? I suggest now. -- no. Seeing

:03:43. > :03:47.of the black is available to the right corner. Play at pace to stay

:03:48. > :04:06.on the black. That was a very attacking shot. It

:04:07. > :04:42.was the right shot that when you are 2-0 down it is much more difficult.

:04:43. > :05:02.Mark Selby has a very good chance here. Really nice set of reds.

:05:03. > :05:21.I was just looking at my watch first to see the time. Joking aside, this

:05:22. > :05:36.is an excellent chance to win the frame. The reds are perfect. The

:05:37. > :05:48.action he gets on the cue ball... Watch the cue ball accelerate when

:05:49. > :05:54.it hits that red. Incredible timing. I honestly do not think there is

:05:55. > :05:55.anyone in the game gets as much action on those screw shots as Mark

:05:56. > :06:27.Selby. Coming up for his fifth black. You

:06:28. > :06:32.would not put the reds in a much better position if you were thinking

:06:33. > :06:43.about making a maximum. I am sure he is not thinking about that yet. He

:06:44. > :07:32.certainly will not be now I do not think.

:07:33. > :08:50.I am sure Mark was thinking of maybe a cannon on the red next to the

:08:51. > :09:00.pink. You would still expect him to get this. Not the red he was playing

:09:01. > :09:06.for. This is what he can do. He can grind you down for two frames. Small

:09:07. > :09:12.breaks and excellent tactical snooker and then the next frame hit

:09:13. > :09:17.you with a big century. If he had got the cannon he might have had a

:09:18. > :09:23.big century. That is very care for Mark Selby. Cannon the red

:09:24. > :09:35.underneath the pink. Thinking about it. He is going towards that red.

:09:36. > :09:46.You wanted to be full ball cannon on that red.

:09:47. > :09:51.The plant, the pink could be on the way of the red. If he can just get

:09:52. > :10:05.past the pink... XD -- 69 in front. Just this black

:10:06. > :10:30.needed. You would think he has probably done

:10:31. > :10:34.enough to win this frame. The amount of time players do not pot the next

:10:35. > :10:40.ball just stop their opponent coming the table. This frame could last ten

:10:41. > :11:55.or 15 minutes longer than it should have.

:11:56. > :12:10.Probably going to go cushion first off of the black by the look of it.

:12:11. > :12:19.Very gentle. Excellent shot. Lovely touch. Yes, the reason he had to

:12:20. > :12:29.play at that pace was because he had to keep the black over the pocket.

:12:30. > :12:35.Very well played. The red closest to the pink, he might keep that one and

:12:36. > :12:36.pot the other three reds, that would be ideal to get ease snooker behind

:12:37. > :12:58.the pink. Did not want that. Did not want that

:12:59. > :13:04.at all. He still has options. The red to the left of the black is an

:13:05. > :13:36.option. That red he just kissed was perfect for eight snooker.

:13:37. > :13:51.He is struggling a bit now. Looking at the scoreboard to check if it

:13:52. > :14:04.would be OK to go for the blue possibly. Any hole for the black.

:14:05. > :14:09.Not much point in playing a snooker at this stage. There are two reds

:14:10. > :14:49.that are easy to hit. 47 behind with 43 remaining. He is

:14:50. > :14:58.going to need one snooker to tie for the opportunity to pot two reds and

:14:59. > :15:00.two blacks. More likely to pot their son get onto that red and end up

:15:01. > :15:56.higher on the pink. He should not have kissed this red

:15:57. > :16:08.when he did. He has a is again right behind it. Not the easiest shot to

:16:09. > :16:18.escape from. The pocket on the right-hand side to hit the cushion.

:16:19. > :16:26.Yes, and if he misses this he will not want to put the cue ball into

:16:27. > :16:31.the baulk area because there is every chance of leaving a free ball.

:16:32. > :16:33.If he has to play this to the side makes it more difficult to play it

:16:34. > :16:52.slowly. I think he had to play with pace to

:16:53. > :17:03.get the side on. He was swerving round. Good hit. I cannot think of

:17:04. > :17:09.many more difficult players in the game than Mark Selby to try to get a

:17:10. > :17:20.successful snooker against. This looks very good. Excellent shot. He

:17:21. > :17:26.would possibly have liked that red to come away from the cushion more.

:17:27. > :17:41.It is a much bigger target where it has landed.

:17:42. > :18:24.REFEREE: foul. The obvious problem is he needs a

:18:25. > :18:31.black to tie. Up and down the table. He needs to miss the brown. After

:18:32. > :18:35.that brilliant snooker he is back to square one again. Worse than that.

:18:36. > :18:53.He needs two snookers. I thought he might have refused that

:18:54. > :18:57.red, said the red back up the table, play a safety, it was always going

:18:58. > :19:05.to be tough to get back down to play that black. Yes, he had to force the

:19:06. > :19:12.white. If it had been slightly thinner he would have been OK. Still

:19:13. > :19:27.in it. The brown is in a good position to get a snooker. Then the

:19:28. > :20:02.blue, if he gets that far. He does not seem too happy with that one.

:20:03. > :20:07.He is looking to screw behind the blue. Not easy from where he has

:20:08. > :20:49.stopped. He is potting it. The pace is always difficult when

:20:50. > :21:33.you are playing that thin. Mark Selby with a break of 69 in

:21:34. > :21:41.that frame helps him to take a 3-0 lead in this match. We were talking

:21:42. > :21:45.about the spin that these players get on, especially Mark Selby. You

:21:46. > :21:53.can see him get into the pack. Watch the cue ball. Hits one red and a

:21:54. > :21:59.second and accelerates so those two reds are going to take some of the

:22:00. > :22:08.pace and he still has a tremendous amount of spin, and it gives him a

:22:09. > :22:13.great chance. You can see it spinning backwards as it goes

:22:14. > :22:20.forward. Then enter the path of reds it is going almost sideways. It

:22:21. > :22:31.comes along to move a few reds about. Very skilful shot.

:22:32. > :22:43.Mark Selby has a 3-0 lead. An unfamiliar position for Kyren Wilson

:22:44. > :22:48.who had a 7-0 lead in his last match against Mark Allen. He is on the

:22:49. > :23:00.other side of the coin. He has to keep his belief and concentration.

:23:01. > :23:14.A huge test for Kyren Wilson to get a good result out of this session.

:23:15. > :23:25.He must find -- I always find even if you have a bad session it is

:23:26. > :23:32.about damage limitation, trying to get out with as good a result as you

:23:33. > :23:39.can. Sometimes you can lose a session 5-3 or 6-2 and the

:23:40. > :23:42.difference can be massive. It is very tiring out there, it is the

:23:43. > :23:48.pressure rather than the physical side that you go through, tight

:23:49. > :23:54.matches. You are on again the next day. It is not easy to sleep after

:23:55. > :24:01.things like that either. You have been through it enough. Yes, and

:24:02. > :24:09.also three qualifiers still in the quarterfinals who have played three

:24:10. > :24:38.matches prior to this main event. That is a poor shot.

:24:39. > :25:07.He lost 4-0 twice against Mark Allen in the second and third session, he

:25:08. > :25:11.lost four frames, but it was a different situation, he was still

:25:12. > :25:19.well in front. This time he has nothing on the board so far. Good

:25:20. > :25:25.shot, good position, and other good pot. It is always a sign of someone

:25:26. > :25:31.who is not striking the ball as good as they would like, because you are

:25:32. > :25:35.always struggling for position. The last black he should never have been

:25:36. > :25:49.typed on the cushion for the red and he have to force it. You are always

:25:50. > :26:06.fighting for perfect position. It is tougher and tougher. " flowers or

:26:07. > :26:10.not too bad if you are 3-0 in front. You can deal with the rest with

:26:11. > :26:23.spin. It makes it more difficult when you are behind. Mark Selby does

:26:24. > :26:30.not seem to have done that much but he is so efficient. He plays so well

:26:31. > :26:35.most of the time. He comes through getting results and you think, what

:26:36. > :28:06.did he do? He is a winning machine. I love that.

:28:07. > :28:19.Another example of a screw shot played perfectly by Mark Selby. If

:28:20. > :28:34.he has landed straight on this red it is unfortunate. Perfect striking.

:28:35. > :28:39.This red just to the left of the cue ball opens up more reds. To the left

:28:40. > :28:47.corner pocket. Go for the pink this time. Possibly up for the blue, but

:28:48. > :29:24.I think role of obligation for the pink to the right corner.

:29:25. > :29:32.He has quite an unorthodox cue action, but it works, it is very

:29:33. > :29:36.good, it is all you want, it delivers the cue at different speeds

:29:37. > :29:44.every time and pulls it back quite a long way, the final backswing. Then

:29:45. > :29:53.with instinct he delivers the cue at different speeds to get the spin and

:29:54. > :30:01.the judgment and the pace he needs. No, he is not on it. He is shaking

:30:02. > :30:05.his head. Looked Burton to be on one of those reds for an easy pot, but

:30:06. > :30:41.he is not. Very unfortunate. Just brushed the green. Could be end

:30:42. > :31:12.of break. The double. Risky. If you miss the

:31:13. > :31:38.double, no idea where the red goes. 26 point lead.

:31:39. > :31:57.Could have gone wrong. Never sure where the red finishes up. I only

:31:58. > :32:06.said it was dodgy because I was useless at doubles! These guys seem

:32:07. > :32:12.to do it so easily. Nice cannon. Looks like 4-0. Worrying for that

:32:13. > :33:58.young man in the seat. I am sure Mark Selby will just be

:33:59. > :34:00.pleased to win the frame, but always nice to get a century at the

:34:01. > :34:13.Crucible. This will be his fifth if he gets

:34:14. > :34:38.it. 59th of the Championship so far. Played for the green. Magic figure

:34:39. > :35:18.on the Reds is 73. Looking smooth out there now. Good

:35:19. > :35:43.player, in control of himself, the cue action. Very composed.

:35:44. > :35:56.Excellent, from Mark Selby, world number one, Kyren Wilson behind 4-0.

:35:57. > :36:04.We will get back to that, shortly, we can talk to Stephen Hendry. It

:36:05. > :36:15.has been incredible, how Mark Selby plays matches. Started off not doing

:36:16. > :36:20.a lot, but you expect him, to win the tacticals, killer blow, it is

:36:21. > :36:26.going to be a big test, for Kyren Wilson. And what have you made of

:36:27. > :36:31.him? Obviously, going to be nervous, semifinal? Obviously, after the

:36:32. > :36:39.result last night, Ronnie O'Sullivan, going out, so many are

:36:40. > :36:48.going to fancy their chances. Missed some long balls. By a long way. That

:36:49. > :36:56.is not to do his confidence any good. And just against a tremendous

:36:57. > :37:02.match player. Does not seem to be doing a lot, but frames on the

:37:03. > :37:09.board. Mark Selby came over, for a chat, on Saturday, just getting over

:37:10. > :37:21.the line but he was furious. That is the mark of a champion? Meticulous?

:37:22. > :37:30.Very rarely wins easily. 11-7 up. Then it was 11-11. He wants to start

:37:31. > :37:35.killing matches off, making it easier, he could always do Kyren

:37:36. > :37:42.Wilson's brains in! Because of you does not get going, I would be

:37:43. > :37:46.worried. We will rejoin that, and if you have just woken up, you could be

:37:47. > :38:03.wondering what has happened to Ronnie O'Sullivan. It was cracking,

:38:04. > :38:15.against Barry Hawkins. Well done. How's the cue ball? Perfect! Ronnie

:38:16. > :38:26.will be at least 40 behind in a few moments.

:38:27. > :38:40.That is all you ask for in the final frame. A chance. Can he hold himself

:38:41. > :38:44.together? Beat Ronnie for the first time in 14 years? At the biggest

:38:45. > :39:11.stage of all? Then if he clears up from here, you

:39:12. > :39:18.could give him the title! And this, it has been drumming this --

:39:19. > :39:31.tremendous pressure. So quiet! So important. Bounce in his step as

:39:32. > :39:42.well. Because even if he does break down, such a big lead. This is the

:39:43. > :40:03.first pressure shot. Straight on the black? All pressure shots here! Even

:40:04. > :40:20.the easy shots! If Hawkins, what he can't do... Try too hard.

:40:21. > :40:37.Takes special players to be calm in these circumstances. They've done it

:40:38. > :40:48.before but it's tough. Very, very good. Potted 16 of 17 with the rest.

:40:49. > :41:20.That was the most important. Kick off the table the last three

:41:21. > :41:50.frames, lead has dwindled. But an excellent break at the right time.

:41:51. > :42:00.Ronnie may get back to the table, before Barry's in the position where

:42:01. > :42:27.he needs snookers. 47 in front. Needs at least two

:42:28. > :42:31.Reds. Played for the one nearest the left pocket. Wanted an angle for

:42:32. > :42:55.blue or brown. Doesn't want to rest in between!

:42:56. > :43:06.Ronnie will come back to the table! In almost an impossible position to

:43:07. > :43:20.win. Touching ball? That would be a result. Push the pink safe? Just

:43:21. > :43:39.double checking it's touching! White on the left hand side? Ronnie could

:43:40. > :43:40.be in big trouble. Under the circumstances, one of the best

:43:41. > :44:09.breaks of the match. That has brought two into play. Not

:44:10. > :44:25.too sure if the red in the middle cuts from here. It doesn't. Barry

:44:26. > :44:54.doesn't want to bring Reds off the cushion. Could play a thin one.

:44:55. > :45:11.Surprised at that. I thought he'd have cut the other one.

:45:12. > :45:33.Wow! Oh... On the black. Just nudged from the pocket! Perfect! If Ronnie

:45:34. > :45:47.gets back and wins it, I believe in miracles!

:45:48. > :46:02.Trying to get big colours for these Reds. So when it gets to the nitty

:46:03. > :46:15.gritty, he doesn't need a big one. Worth the risk. Yellow still in

:46:16. > :46:39.play. Barry sitting there... Wondering.

:46:40. > :47:04.Oh! That should be the end of the match. Didn't get the spin on. I

:47:05. > :47:17.thought, a good chance there. Brown could have brought the other red in.

:47:18. > :47:35.Barry feels it passes. Remarkable match. Barry Hawkins hasn't beaten

:47:36. > :47:45.Ronnie for 14 years. All the top seeds going so far. Apart from world

:47:46. > :47:56.number one Mark Selby but that is the end! An old, then Ronnie

:47:57. > :48:21.O'Sullivan, so disappointed, having got back into it. He will be

:48:22. > :48:30.buzzing, Barry. Undoubted match of the Championship, so far. Handshake!

:48:31. > :48:38.Barry Hawkins has done what he has not done for 14 years, defeated

:48:39. > :48:48.Ronnie O'Sullivan, for the first time in 14 years. That was tough.

:48:49. > :48:54.Really tough. He threw everything at me. I do not know how he think he

:48:55. > :49:03.was pleading, but overall the two sessions, he was not missing

:49:04. > :49:07.anything, my safety was good, I was treating chances, so to finally get

:49:08. > :49:11.one over him, after 14 years, whatever it has been, and the last

:49:12. > :49:18.few performances, so pleasing. I just want to say that Barry has

:49:19. > :49:24.played a fantastic match, and I want to wish him well for the rest of the

:49:25. > :49:31.competition. But it was difficult, because I thought I was getting

:49:32. > :49:37.beaten to the punch, unless I won in one visit. I was losing, all those

:49:38. > :49:46.frames, it could've been a different story. I do know what it was like,

:49:47. > :49:53.but goodness knows what it must have been like for them. It was sporting,

:49:54. > :50:03.from Ronnie, to be watching Barry all the best? Did he have some luck?

:50:04. > :50:09.As Ronnie had said, all the tactical frames, Barry seem to be winning.

:50:10. > :50:15.And he thought that if he got one visit, it could have been over. But

:50:16. > :50:23.I think that is harsh, to say that it was run of the balls. Ronnie was

:50:24. > :50:29.getting break after break what Barry was keeping focus, doing so well. Do

:50:30. > :50:34.you think that Barry has got what it takes, to reach the final?

:50:35. > :50:37.Absolutely. No doubt about that. And that he cannot take enormous

:50:38. > :50:42.confidence from a result like that, then you are never going to do it.

:50:43. > :50:48.It is important not to start thinking ahead. It would be easy,

:50:49. > :50:54.for people to tell them, you have defeated Ronnie, so you have done

:50:55. > :51:00.it, what's the long way to go. And on social media, a lot of

:51:01. > :51:07.disappointment, for the casual snooker viewer, because Ronnie has

:51:08. > :51:15.gone out, what do you make of how he has done? And off the table? I do

:51:16. > :51:19.not know. You just never see him. That is the correct we to be. You do

:51:20. > :51:25.not want to be mixing, getting overfamiliar. But on the table, he

:51:26. > :51:38.has the sharp, immense. Key has been doing exhibitions, and all the team,

:51:39. > :51:45.getting big breaks, but could be rusty with tactical frames. And who

:51:46. > :51:50.is going to win? I think all the major keys for themselves, but Selby

:51:51. > :52:04.is going to be difficult to beat. Thank you. Back to the commentators.

:52:05. > :52:08.15 minutes for the interval there, after four frames. This has been all

:52:09. > :52:56.Selby till now. Looking good. Very smooth. Potting

:52:57. > :53:30.the balls clean. That came as a shock! All missable,

:53:31. > :53:57.of course. But he has been looking so good, so far.

:53:58. > :54:14.Can he squeeze a mistake out of Mark Selby with that safety shot? You can

:54:15. > :54:21.see, snookered on all the Reds. Don't think he can get past the

:54:22. > :54:40.blue. The red to the right of the pink? Have to be careful here.

:54:41. > :54:46.Looks to me, no matter which way he goes in, how many cushions, danger

:54:47. > :55:12.involved. Can't believe he did it that way.

:55:13. > :55:15.Such a difficult shot to take on. Had to hit that much thinner. Caught

:55:16. > :55:28.it half ball. Oh... Again. Not the most positive

:55:29. > :56:21.strike. Mark Selby is going to take this red

:56:22. > :56:23.on, far left. Just looking at where he would leave the cue ball if he

:56:24. > :56:53.missed. I think this red near the baulk is

:56:54. > :57:08.pottable. Everything now, at 4-0, the difficulty is magnified. Not

:57:09. > :57:11.taking it on. Looking to see where he would leave the cue ball. Or...

:57:12. > :58:29.Confusing me? Sadly, out of time on BBC Two. In to

:58:30. > :58:41.watch Mark Selby against Kyren Wilson, on the red button. And on

:58:42. > :58:46.the website, back later, with more action. Bye for now.
