0:00:16 > 0:00:23Since 2004, the United Kingdom has come together. To enjoy a unique

0:00:23 > 0:00:28event. And to help change people's lives.

0:00:28 > 0:00:33Hundreds of you have gone the distance. 2012 is a year of true

0:00:33 > 0:00:37celebration. It's the biggest year in sporting history. By going that

0:00:38 > 0:00:42extra mile, you can play your part. Years of training. Years of

0:00:42 > 0:00:48sacrifice. You don't need them for this - it's the Sport Relief Mile

0:00:48 > 0:00:55and everyone can join in, in any way that they like. For the first

0:00:55 > 0:01:02time, one million people across the weekend are united.

0:01:02 > 0:01:07For the biggest ever Sport Relief Mile. So, get ready. To hit the

0:01:07 > 0:01:13ground running. This is Sport Relief 2012, The Mile Show.

0:01:13 > 0:01:18Hello, welcome from The Mile Show, with Matt Baker. And Alex Jones.

0:01:18 > 0:01:25And hundreds and thousands of you doing your bit. We are live, slap,

0:01:25 > 0:01:30bang in the middle of the mal. Just look out there. It is incredible.

0:01:30 > 0:01:39have just seen a banana, a runner bean. A whole superhero family.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43There was a Where's Wally. And four lads dressed as JLS. This year's

0:01:43 > 0:01:47Sport Relief Mile is bigger than ever before. One million people are

0:01:47 > 0:01:55taking part, in 700 events across the UK. It is the best by miles.

0:01:55 > 0:02:00This is miles better. Nice! My puns will be a running gag though!

0:02:00 > 0:02:05sweat, as long as we can last the distance. It's a marathon, not a

0:02:05 > 0:02:08sprint. As well as all the action from around the country we'll have

0:02:08 > 0:02:13Strictly stars competing like never before. Here is who else is coming

0:02:13 > 0:02:23up on today's show. JLS.

0:02:23 > 0:02:24

0:02:24 > 0:02:30, Sir Steve Redgrave and Dame Kelly Holmes. David Walliams.

0:02:30 > 0:02:35And Olly Murs will be performing. That to look forward to. The

0:02:35 > 0:02:40weekend sprinted off the starting blocks on Friday night with some

0:02:40 > 0:02:49record-breaking moments. Not only does Freddie Flintoff hold the

0:02:49 > 0:02:55record for most lemons caught being blindfolded... He tried to duck

0:02:55 > 0:03:03tape Alex to the wall. I was too heavy for. That you at home outdid

0:03:03 > 0:03:08yourselves, smashing the previous total and raising a phenomenal

0:03:08 > 0:03:1450,447,197 by the end of Friday night's show. Thank you. An

0:03:14 > 0:03:17incredible amount. We are still counting the cash. Well, we aren't,

0:03:17 > 0:03:25but somebody somewhere is. We will reveal the total at the end of the

0:03:25 > 0:03:30programme. Stay with us. Matt and I need help from... John Inverdale,

0:03:30 > 0:03:37we have Helen Skelton and Jenni Falconer. First over to John, who

0:03:37 > 0:03:42is out on the Mall. Where are you? Horse guard's parade and the Mall

0:03:42 > 0:03:46itself. Thousands of people have gone past us already. Thousands

0:03:46 > 0:03:51more are waiting to go. Lots of big names on the starting line. We will

0:03:51 > 0:03:58talk to them during the course of the programme. From London, to

0:03:58 > 0:04:02Manchester and the most super woman in the whole world, Helen Skelton.

0:04:02 > 0:04:10Hello and welcome to Manchester. We might not have Buckingham Palace,

0:04:10 > 0:04:13but we do match you for atmosphere. Can't we? We are going to be

0:04:14 > 0:04:19rolling out the Sport Relief red carpet for the legend that is John

0:04:19 > 0:04:24Bishop. We have a special performance from Olly Murs. Now to

0:04:24 > 0:04:28Jenni Falconer in Glasgow. Greetings! We are here in the heart

0:04:29 > 0:04:32of the city. The place is filling up. I have even seen some Daleks

0:04:32 > 0:04:35run past. This weekend, over one million people will have run the

0:04:35 > 0:04:43mile aRoss the UK. Thousands of them in Scotland alone. So, thank

0:04:43 > 0:04:49you for your support. We'll see you shortly. For now, back to the Mall.

0:04:49 > 0:04:55It is sunny everywhere, isn't it? Yes. We will show you what has been

0:04:55 > 0:05:05happening at the other Sport Relief Miles across the country. We will

0:05:05 > 0:05:17

0:05:17 > 0:05:21We will be busy this afternoon! On all the courses you can choose

0:05:21 > 0:05:25to do one, three or six miles. Whatever your distance, thank you

0:05:25 > 0:05:29so much for rising to the challenge. Whether you are doing the mile

0:05:29 > 0:05:34today or want to wish somebody good luck with theirs, please get in

0:05:34 > 0:05:39contact wus. We might be able to read -- us. We might be able to

0:05:39 > 0:05:44read your message out on air. quick taster of how the country has

0:05:44 > 0:05:54gone the extra mile. We have medals. We are joined by Steve Cram. Alex,

0:05:54 > 0:06:23

0:06:23 > 0:06:27John and I were the first out of A mile was actually harder than we

0:06:28 > 0:06:30thought. I have to say! Soon JLS will join us. First, it is time to

0:06:30 > 0:06:35find out more about what is happening here in London. Over to

0:06:35 > 0:06:40John. We are here on the Mall. A huge

0:06:40 > 0:06:44amount of history here, but a great sporting pedigree. Here, four weeks

0:06:44 > 0:06:51today bodys will be all over the place at the end of the London

0:06:51 > 0:06:57Marathon. The Mall is the epicentre for the Olympic marathon at the end

0:06:57 > 0:07:04of this year. Here's Steve Cram. Thank you. John is standing down

0:07:04 > 0:07:08there at the junction of Horse Guard's and the Mall. This is where

0:07:08 > 0:07:15the beach volleyball will be held during the Olympic Games. They turn,

0:07:15 > 0:07:19if they look over their right shoulder they will get a great view

0:07:19 > 0:07:26of Admiralty Arch, looking resplendent today. Up to Buckingham

0:07:27 > 0:07:30Palace they go. At the far end they will be able to see in the sunlight

0:07:30 > 0:07:35the Queen Victoria memorial. That will be their turn around point.

0:07:35 > 0:07:40They turn back on themselves. Maybe give a wave to somebody, you never

0:07:40 > 0:07:43know, who might be watching in Buckingham Palace. They are 300

0:07:43 > 0:07:50metres from the finishing point. They will look wonderful when they

0:07:50 > 0:07:58get there. I am sure! With me I have two serious

0:07:58 > 0:08:02Olympians. One from the USA, Ed Moses and for you it could be the

0:08:02 > 0:08:07defining moment of your life, couldn't it? That is a great

0:08:07 > 0:08:14introduction. Now you have my heart racing. Thank you. I appreciate

0:08:14 > 0:08:20that. A great year for Phillips in his own country. You won a gold in

0:08:20 > 0:08:241984. How much more rewarding was it to win a medal in those

0:08:24 > 0:08:29circumstances? The stadium held 100,000 people. Your people will be

0:08:29 > 0:08:35behind you. There'll be no greater feeler than there is to win.

0:08:35 > 0:08:40are not running, are you? No, not this year. I have a great event

0:08:40 > 0:08:44coming up later this year. I have to take my hat off and bow to

0:08:44 > 0:08:49everyone participating today. It is a great occasion. Luckily we have

0:08:49 > 0:08:53been blessed with great weather. It's all going towards a great

0:08:54 > 0:08:58course. Absolutely. Thank you. Back to the studio. We will join John

0:08:58 > 0:09:03later with some very exciting mileers. First, it is time to

0:09:03 > 0:09:07welcome four superstars who could not have done more. It is hard to

0:09:07 > 0:09:15hear ourselves think at the moment because of all the screams. They

0:09:15 > 0:09:21have been out to Uganda to see how the money you have donated will be

0:09:21 > 0:09:30spent. They have organised a concert in aid of Sport Relief. As

0:09:30 > 0:09:36the 2012 official single is down to them, they wrote the theme tune,

0:09:36 > 0:09:40sang the theme tune. OMG - it's JLS!

0:09:40 > 0:09:46How are you? All right. We cannot hear ourselves think. We have some

0:09:47 > 0:09:53fruit for you. A very good effort. Did you pass

0:09:53 > 0:09:59the finish line together? Were you competitive? We were supposed to.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02He thought... He was speeding up. I sped up. When we went out to do our

0:10:02 > 0:10:07mile, there was me, Steve Cram, John Inverdale and we were looking

0:10:07 > 0:10:12to see who was breaking sweat first. Were you doing that? Not really.

0:10:12 > 0:10:17It's one mile. We are on tour. Our tour is two hours of a workout. To

0:10:17 > 0:10:27do a moil this morning, I would not say it is easy, but it was not like

0:10:27 > 0:10:28

0:10:28 > 0:10:32a fulmar rathon. It makes you re-- -- Like a full marathon. It makes

0:10:32 > 0:10:39you respect the people doing six miles. You are responsible for the

0:10:39 > 0:10:44official single. How did that come about? We always wanted to work

0:10:44 > 0:10:49alongside Sport Relief. The girls are singing!

0:10:49 > 0:10:54What have I done? We thought that Proud would work alongside Sport

0:10:54 > 0:11:03Relief. We shot the video at Wembley. We had three Olympians in

0:11:03 > 0:11:09the video. It went well. It is for a fantastic cause. What difference

0:11:09 > 0:11:13will it make? A massive difference. We have seen first-hand, not

0:11:13 > 0:11:23everyone gets to see that side of thing - that is a reason I wanted

0:11:23 > 0:11:27to go out there to make a film. People can see how their money can

0:11:27 > 0:11:32help to change. You think of the people and the families they met

0:11:32 > 0:11:37over there, if they could see what's going on here today. It is

0:11:37 > 0:11:41amazing when people get together for great causes. We go to Uganda,

0:11:41 > 0:11:45we went to a boxing club in Hackney to see what Sport Relief does for

0:11:45 > 0:11:49people in our country as well as outside of the country. It is

0:11:49 > 0:11:55amazing. So many people come together for such a great cause.

0:11:55 > 0:11:58We'll let you get back to your fans. Good luck getting out of here. The

0:11:58 > 0:12:02nation is well and truly proud of you.

0:12:02 > 0:12:08Of course JLS are not the only famous faces to have gone the extra

0:12:08 > 0:12:15mile for Sport Relief this year. No. They have done most of it. On

0:12:15 > 0:12:21Friday night they joined forces to show us how they have done their

0:12:21 > 0:12:31bit. There was the time I put on a red

0:12:31 > 0:12:50

0:12:50 > 0:13:00Are you ready? Good evening. Tonight, you can change lives.

0:13:00 > 0:13:01

0:13:01 > 0:13:11Steam lined, truly a wonder. I am a little nervous, it is true to say.

0:13:11 > 0:13:25

0:13:25 > 0:13:30It's a spectacle you can't miss. List en Cowell!

0:13:30 > 0:13:40-- listen Cowell! Have you got anything more exciting

0:13:40 > 0:13:42

0:13:42 > 0:13:52than that? That is just beyond anything I

0:13:52 > 0:14:32

0:14:32 > 0:14:36It's been a cracking year. It really has. David Walliams will be

0:14:36 > 0:14:40here, with a truly inspiring story. In Manchester, Olly Murs will have

0:14:41 > 0:14:46a sing. I can't wait. Now the time for our first live mile star. Back

0:14:46 > 0:14:55over to John and I am told some famous faces.

0:14:55 > 0:15:02Some favourite faces. David Tennant and Sarah Hadlan. A lot of people

0:15:02 > 0:15:07saw Miranda and Goran together, are they still an item? It is the start

0:15:07 > 0:15:13of a tall friendship. Are you a runner? I can be fast if I need to

0:15:13 > 0:15:16be. It is not something... No, I don't know how it will go. So long

0:15:17 > 0:15:23as I can beat Sarah - that's all I care about. Thank you for being

0:15:23 > 0:15:33here. As we head towards the first live mile today, we welcome double

0:15:33 > 0:15:33

0:15:33 > 0:15:38Olympic champion Kelly Holmes. I must ask you a question, everyone

0:15:38 > 0:15:48remembers you in Trafalgar Square - here we are 120 days until the

0:15:48 > 0:15:49

0:15:49 > 0:15:55Imagine the buzz that will happen at the Olympic Games. Are you

0:15:55 > 0:16:05ready? I'm ready. Are you lot lot ready? You can count us down, Kelly.

0:16:05 > 0:16:11

0:16:11 > 0:16:16So away they go. It has been a marvellous day already in London.

0:16:16 > 0:16:21Beautiful weather welcoming almost 30,000 people.

0:16:21 > 0:16:29They have been set off in a series of ways, making an almost

0:16:29 > 0:16:34continuous flow since about 10am this morning and they have come

0:16:34 > 0:16:39from very close and for many miles away to come and take part in what

0:16:39 > 0:16:43is rapidly becoming one of the great daysI was going to say in the

0:16:44 > 0:16:48sporting calendar, it is not really about sport, it is Sport Relief.

0:16:48 > 0:16:52Run if you want to, but there are plenty of people here just walking

0:16:52 > 0:16:58and taking their time and even pushing a pushchair making sure

0:16:58 > 0:17:02they get to the finish line. A great sight. There is plenty of

0:17:02 > 0:17:11celebrities out there as well. I just see some familiar faces. Spot

0:17:11 > 0:17:15Cheers, Steve. Here they are. Some have got off to

0:17:15 > 0:17:21a flying start. Pace yourselves, there is a long way to go! People

0:17:21 > 0:17:26have made sacrifices in the name of Sport Relief, but what is coming up

0:17:26 > 0:17:34is beyond the call of duty. To reveal all, it is over to Alex who

0:17:34 > 0:17:40I am at track side where some events can only be described as

0:17:40 > 0:17:45unique. In an Olympic year it seems fitting that we honour the sport

0:17:45 > 0:17:49which hold are our own special trials, the pride of winning is all

0:17:49 > 0:17:54that's at stake. You can't have failed to notice that the Sport

0:17:54 > 0:18:02Relief is a pantomime horse so we thought, well can be better than a

0:18:02 > 0:18:06panto horse race? But wait because these aren't any old panto panto

0:18:06 > 0:18:13horses. ALL: Oh yes, they are.

0:18:13 > 0:18:18No, they are not. Our first horse is called Eastend. It is Matt and

0:18:18 > 0:18:23Tony. We are feeling ready and fit to horse it.

0:18:23 > 0:18:29You must be glad that all the training at drama school hasn't

0:18:29 > 0:18:35gone to waste. Neigh! Have you been in training for this

0:18:35 > 0:18:39horse? For this race? Look at this beauty.

0:18:39 > 0:18:44Are you confident, Mel? Well, you know, there is tough competition

0:18:44 > 0:18:46today, but we have had our sugar lumps! So we are all revved up and

0:18:46 > 0:18:51ready to go. Good luck, girls.

0:18:51 > 0:18:54The only only thing we know about our final horse is that nobody

0:18:54 > 0:18:58knows anything about it. It is not as bright as the others so we're

0:18:58 > 0:19:02calling it the dark horse. The rules are simple, the first past

0:19:02 > 0:19:11the post wins. If the horses are ready, I think they are. Edith, get

0:19:11 > 0:19:14in. Three, two, one - off you go! Rumours are flying around the

0:19:14 > 0:19:22paddock as who is the identity of the dark horse. What is happening

0:19:22 > 0:19:30here? It is the East Enders horse. He is winning it. Well done, Tony

0:19:30 > 0:19:35Tony and Matt. The dark horse, despite being the

0:19:35 > 0:19:41pre-race favourite, didn't live up to expectations. It was the boys

0:19:41 > 0:19:45from EastEnders. They got off to a cracking start. In In fact, they

0:19:45 > 0:19:51won it at a cantor. These two just not getting it

0:19:51 > 0:19:57together at all. EastEnders out in front.

0:19:57 > 0:20:03I don't think we're going to need a photo finish for that one though!

0:20:03 > 0:20:07We know who won, the Moon boys, and girls, but Edith is desperate to

0:20:07 > 0:20:12get on the back of the dark horse. Edith, can you get up?

0:20:12 > 0:20:17Up. No, she can't. But who is? Who is the dark horse? The answer is,

0:20:17 > 0:20:24well first of all, who is the front end of the dark horse and it is...

0:20:24 > 0:20:32Hello. It is our greatest ever Olympian, Sir Steve Redgrave.

0:20:32 > 0:20:35we win? Did we win? Who is at the back? James Cracknell.

0:20:36 > 0:20:39Did you have much of a debate debate about who was going to be

0:20:39 > 0:20:42the front or the back? The person who turned up last ended up at the

0:20:42 > 0:20:47back. You didn't win. You are losers. You

0:20:47 > 0:20:52two are losers. Do we get a medal? No, you don't

0:20:53 > 0:20:56get a medal. Listen congratulations guys, thanks for taking part and

0:20:56 > 0:21:04well done to the EastEnders team who are the panto horse champions

0:21:04 > 0:21:10of 2012. I want to see that again!

0:21:10 > 0:21:16The Moon Brothers winning it. No animals were harmed in the making

0:21:16 > 0:21:18of that item! A few celebs might feel bruised. It is in the name of

0:21:19 > 0:21:22Sport Relief so thank you to everybody who has been helping to

0:21:22 > 0:21:26raise money. Over the past few weeks many more mile related events

0:21:26 > 0:21:29have been taking place. Some you might call amazing, others might

0:21:29 > 0:21:34give our horse race a run for its money!

0:21:34 > 0:21:40You don't just have to run or walk the mile, there are plenty of ways

0:21:40 > 0:21:44to complete 1,760 yards. A group of ice skaters decided to turn their

0:21:44 > 0:21:52mile into a figure of eight. It wasn't hard. You have got to

0:21:52 > 0:21:58make sure you don't crash. We're here to do the free run mile.

0:21:58 > 0:22:03We wanted to get involved and doing the free run mile is a good way to

0:22:03 > 0:22:13do that. Over at Westminster, the MPs joined

0:22:13 > 0:22:13

0:22:14 > 0:22:19forces to do their bit. APPLAUSE

0:22:19 > 0:22:21You don't just have to run a mile, you can jump, dance, swim.

0:22:21 > 0:22:27These two opted for a nautical challenge with a difference.

0:22:27 > 0:22:31We are going to go underwater in a tank. Oh no, there is sharks.

0:22:31 > 0:22:36Don't mention the S word! Divers had completed part of the

0:22:36 > 0:22:41mile so it was left to our novice divers to avoid the sharks and

0:22:41 > 0:22:46complete the task. Hampshire cricket club did their mile

0:22:46 > 0:22:50vertically. I am afraid of heights. Now I have

0:22:50 > 0:22:54done seven or eight lengths. That's what it is all about, people

0:22:54 > 0:22:59getting out of their comfort zones and embracing different challenges.

0:22:59 > 0:23:08Those good sports at Radio 1 were up to more mile miss chef,

0:23:08 > 0:23:12involving a treadmill in the Live A mile up a climbing wall when you

0:23:12 > 0:23:17are frightened of heights. Viewers of the One Show will know

0:23:17 > 0:23:21we have been holding our Sport Relief show.

0:23:21 > 0:23:25The The One Show One Thousand where 1,000 viewers have been taking part

0:23:25 > 0:23:29in a relay from Scotland to the Mall.

0:23:29 > 0:23:33They are due at some point! We don't know when, with you we

0:23:33 > 0:23:38will keep you updated with their progress. Hopefully it is shortly.

0:23:38 > 0:23:42Hopefully. Later on sporting royalty will be here in the shape

0:23:42 > 0:23:45of Steve Redgrave and Kelly Holmes and Strictly stars will be

0:23:45 > 0:23:49competing as you never seen them before.

0:23:49 > 0:23:51You wouldn't want to miss that. I have seen Ann Widdecombe in many

0:23:51 > 0:23:55positions, but this is something else!

0:23:55 > 0:24:02Before that, let's catch up with Jenni Falconer and our fellow

0:24:02 > 0:24:07milers live in Glasgow. Now, it is a gorgeous sunny day in

0:24:07 > 0:24:09Glasgow. Perfect weather for doing the mile. Look at these people

0:24:09 > 0:24:13getting ready to start. They have been hopping, skipping, running and

0:24:13 > 0:24:17walking around because it is the taking part that counts. I am going

0:24:17 > 0:24:25to be taking part myself in just a second. I will be along with these

0:24:25 > 0:24:29two familiar faces, please welcome Duncan and Claire. You have been

0:24:29 > 0:24:35involved in Sport Relief before, but have you ever done the mile?

0:24:35 > 0:24:39Never. I can't tell you how forward I am looking to joining my

0:24:39 > 0:24:43Glaswegians who are beautifully co- ordinated doing the warm up. I know

0:24:43 > 0:24:46it is not a race, we know it is not a race, but we don't want to be

0:24:46 > 0:24:49last. But Duncan is fit so you probably

0:24:49 > 0:24:53won't be last? I played a game on Friday night so I wouldn't be

0:24:53 > 0:24:56setting the pace too fast. As long as I put a reasonable time in, I

0:24:56 > 0:24:59will be happy. Are these excuses already? Yeah,

0:24:59 > 0:25:05definitely. The gorgeous thing about the mile,

0:25:05 > 0:25:08as you say, you can walk it, jump it, skip it, do the hokey-cokey and

0:25:08 > 0:25:13I have seen ladies who lunch in their killer heels sauntering

0:25:13 > 0:25:17around. I saw them and I was impressed. It

0:25:17 > 0:25:21is for a great cause as well. How do you feel about being involved

0:25:21 > 0:25:28with Sport Relief? Yeah, it is fantastic to have an opportunity to

0:25:28 > 0:25:32represent rugby. It is Sport Relief and not only does it help people

0:25:32 > 0:25:35across the world, but here in Scotland. It is brilliant that I

0:25:35 > 0:25:43have got the chance to represent rugby and we can see how many

0:25:43 > 0:25:48people have came out to support it. I will be running you with in a

0:25:48 > 0:25:52minute. Last month Lorraine Kelly Kelly helped with a project in

0:25:52 > 0:25:55Scotland. She wanted to highlight that the money doesn't just help

0:25:55 > 0:26:03people overseas, but people right here on your doorstep. Look at how

0:26:03 > 0:26:09I have come to Arbroath to meet this family who are looking forward

0:26:09 > 0:26:14to running the Sport Relief Mile. TJ and generals Jenson have a

0:26:14 > 0:26:19special brother. Three-year-old Kane has a rare genetic condition.

0:26:19 > 0:26:23He doesn't understand potential dangers. With three young children

0:26:23 > 0:26:24and with a husband serving in the Army, mum, Sam, has a lot on her

0:26:24 > 0:26:29Army, mum, Sam, has a lot on her plate.

0:26:29 > 0:26:33He has got things out of the oven when they are red hot. He has

0:26:33 > 0:26:36fallen down the stairs. He has dislocated his elbow and we have

0:26:36 > 0:26:40not known about it. He has a physical disability and because you

0:26:40 > 0:26:45can't see that, you think it is a naughty child. He He isn't, he is a

0:26:45 > 0:26:48lovely little boy.. How has his illness affected family

0:26:48 > 0:26:52life? We are up throughout the night with him and everything. It

0:26:52 > 0:26:55is very hard. Even tougher for Sam is that her

0:26:55 > 0:27:02husband has been deployed to Afghanistan, making it more

0:27:02 > 0:27:12difficult for her and her boys. depend on them and I think I depend

0:27:12 > 0:27:12

0:27:12 > 0:27:16on them too much. I'm on at them to watch Keane. He has got building

0:27:16 > 0:27:20blocks and we like to build whatever we can and we will count

0:27:20 > 0:27:25to five and then he will knock it down.

0:27:25 > 0:27:29We just love playing with him. TJ and Jenson spending most of

0:27:29 > 0:27:32their time looking after Keane, they don't get the chance to be

0:27:32 > 0:27:37normal teenagers. They should be out enjoying

0:27:37 > 0:27:47themselves and everything and I feel like I'm keeping them in.

0:27:47 > 0:27:48

0:27:48 > 0:27:50At the Sport Relief Ang Ang glus Carers, the brothers can receive

0:27:51 > 0:27:55help and support. I really enjoy it because you get

0:27:55 > 0:28:01to meet new people. The pro jeblingt, it is -- project, it is

0:28:01 > 0:28:06fantastic. I can't wish for a better support network for the boys.

0:28:06 > 0:28:10So why have you decided to run this Sport Relief Mile? Because they

0:28:10 > 0:28:14have helped TJ and Jenson dramatically and ourselves as a

0:28:14 > 0:28:24family. We just want to give something back to Sport Relief and

0:28:24 > 0:28:28

0:28:28 > 0:28:35projects like ang Angus Young Now we are at the start line and

0:28:35 > 0:28:39I'm with the family. John, welcome back. Thank you very much, it is

0:28:39 > 0:28:42great to be back. TJ and generalsor are saying --

0:28:42 > 0:28:44Jenson are saying they are going to sprint around this because they do

0:28:45 > 0:28:49cross-country. Sam, you have got the family and

0:28:49 > 0:28:56Keane as well. You have got the family here. How important is it to

0:28:56 > 0:29:01be doing this today? It is very important especially for projects

0:29:01 > 0:29:05like Angus Young Carers because they have helped us a lot and it is

0:29:05 > 0:29:09very important to the family that we do it.

0:29:09 > 0:29:14And you are supporting Sport Relief by doing the mile. Have you been

0:29:14 > 0:29:18training? No. Running around after Keane, that's my training.

0:29:18 > 0:29:24It doesn't matter what pace you do it today, as long as you enjoy.

0:29:24 > 0:29:29Have you got a time? About nine minutes.

0:29:30 > 0:29:33Have you ever seen such an amazing turnout in Glasgow? Never. First

0:29:33 > 0:29:37time in Glasgow, never. Well, we saw Lorraine was with you

0:29:37 > 0:29:40when she came to visit you, she can't be here today. Lorraine, I

0:29:40 > 0:29:43know that you are watching, so we hope that you get well very, very

0:29:43 > 0:29:48soon. Now, are you ready? Yes.

0:29:48 > 0:29:52Milers, are you all ready? ALL: Yes.

0:29:52 > 0:29:56I can't run with a microphone in my hands. I'm going to hand this over

0:29:56 > 0:30:01and I'm going to pass over to the starter who is going to count us

0:30:01 > 0:30:07down. Are you ready over there? OK, I will see you later.

0:30:07 > 0:30:13I will see you later. Five, four, three, two, one.

0:30:13 > 0:30:16There goes Jenni and everybody in Glasgow. George Square is the scene

0:30:16 > 0:30:20on a rather beautiful day up there. There is so many people turning out

0:30:20 > 0:30:26and of course, Glasgow, like London, planning for something big. A

0:30:26 > 0:30:31couple of years for them. The Commonwealth Games being held in

0:30:31 > 0:30:352014 in Glasgow and they are proud of that. I am sure they are proud

0:30:35 > 0:30:45of the turnout that they are managing to show us today. Fancy

0:30:45 > 0:30:58

0:30:58 > 0:31:04dress all over the place and just It was so nice to see all the

0:31:04 > 0:31:07families doing it together. Super. Thanks to everyone who has taken

0:31:07 > 0:31:11part in the Sport Relief Mile today. They are happening all over the

0:31:11 > 0:31:16country. In order to find out how you are going the distance, it's

0:31:16 > 0:31:20off to Leeds, Plymouth, Edinburgh and Norwich for some family fun.

0:31:20 > 0:31:30Welcome to Leeds, where it is a family thing. Everyone is here from

0:31:30 > 0:31:31

0:31:31 > 0:31:37grans to tiny tots, they are going the extra mile.

0:31:37 > 0:31:44There are some serious lunatics out today. We have scary clowns - there

0:31:44 > 0:31:50is everything out there today for a good cause. And you've got us!

0:31:51 > 0:31:56The one and only superbike champion James, pianist and runner, which

0:31:56 > 0:32:02are you best at? Biking. I thought I better get good at something else.

0:32:02 > 0:32:08You are running six miles? It is one, three or six and I am doing

0:32:08 > 0:32:12the London Marathon in April. This is a warm-up. That is why I am

0:32:12 > 0:32:22doing six. I think you've done all right!

0:32:22 > 0:32:39

0:32:39 > 0:32:43D Welcome to Plymouth, where the weather is absolutely gorgeous. We

0:32:43 > 0:32:51must have one of the most picturesque miles in the country.

0:32:51 > 0:32:56You go, Plymouth! It makes a massive difference. I

0:32:56 > 0:32:59want to get into sport myself after my injury. I am quite fortunate to

0:32:59 > 0:33:09have this opportunity. So many aren't. If I can do my bit and make

0:33:09 > 0:33:18

0:33:18 > 0:33:23a change for them, then it is well Well, we are in Edinburgh's Royal

0:33:23 > 0:33:27Mile, slap, bang in the middle of the old town. I could give you lots

0:33:27 > 0:33:37of facts and figures - it is beautiful. All the families taking

0:33:37 > 0:34:06

0:34:06 > 0:34:10part are going from the start all What a wonderful day it's been here

0:34:10 > 0:34:14in Scotland's capital. 4,000 people going that extra mile for Sports

0:34:14 > 0:34:24Relief. A fantastic, wonderful achievement for everyone here and

0:34:24 > 0:34:29

0:34:29 > 0:34:33the sun's shining. What could be There goes another wave - a great

0:34:33 > 0:34:41family day out in Norwich. Thousands of people, raises

0:34:41 > 0:34:46thousands of pounds for Sport Relief. Is there family rival here?

0:34:46 > 0:34:56Absolutely not, but I'll be the winner. Are you not tempted to run?

0:34:56 > 0:34:56

0:34:56 > 0:35:03No. No. I am a sum mo wrestler for Sutton Coldfield.

0:35:03 > 0:35:09Son in law, grandson. You are first across the finishing line? I am

0:35:09 > 0:35:18number one in Norwich. It is more fun when we're all

0:35:18 > 0:35:22together. We are all close friends. For people who need it. Yeah!

0:35:22 > 0:35:27Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

0:35:27 > 0:35:32Thank you for doing your mile.... For Sport Relief. Thank you for

0:35:32 > 0:35:37doing your mile.... For Sport Relief.

0:35:37 > 0:35:42Thank you. Thank you, indeed. We love a mile in Britain. Just doing

0:35:42 > 0:35:48that mile. They know how to enjoy themselves in Norwich. Everyone is

0:35:48 > 0:35:51doing the mile to raise money for Sport Relief. If you have been

0:35:51 > 0:35:54sponsored - brilliant. Don't forget to pay in the money - very

0:35:54 > 0:36:00important. Details are on the website:

0:36:00 > 0:36:07If you have not done it yet and would like to, the easiest way is

0:36:07 > 0:36:14by text message. Very simple, text "sport" to 70005. Sport Relief will

0:36:14 > 0:36:18get 5. It is as easy as that. Texts cost 5. Plus your standard

0:36:18 > 0:36:23message network charge. The whole 5 will go to Sport Relief. You

0:36:23 > 0:36:31must be 16 or over and please ask the bill payer's permission.

0:36:31 > 0:36:36back to a lady who has gone above and beyond for Sport Relief... Well

0:36:36 > 0:36:46below as she took on the Antarctic for her journey. We are off to

0:36:46 > 0:36:48

0:36:48 > 0:36:52Helen Skelton, to r the latest live I am surrounded by a very excitable

0:36:52 > 0:36:59group of milers. I am the only thing between them and Olly Murs.

0:36:59 > 0:37:03He is not helping here. I feel I am about to be trampled. Are you

0:37:03 > 0:37:08excited? The Manchester Sport Relief Mile is peppered with

0:37:08 > 0:37:12celebrities. One guy who recently urged his legendary status is John

0:37:12 > 0:37:20Bishop. He had a chat before he completed his sport mile. You

0:37:20 > 0:37:23raised over 3 million by cycling, running and rowing from London to

0:37:23 > 0:37:28Paris. Did you think you would raise that money? I got the first

0:37:28 > 0:37:35figure in the boat, which was 250,000. That is all I was after

0:37:35 > 0:37:39any way. It built up. The momentum was beyond anything I could have

0:37:39 > 0:37:43thought of. People donated that because they saw you suffer. People

0:37:43 > 0:37:50talked about you having a stress fracture. Was that TV, or did you

0:37:50 > 0:37:55suffer? My achillies were hurting. The pressure was on my foot. It was

0:37:55 > 0:38:03my right shin. They thought it was a stress fracture where it was. If

0:38:03 > 0:38:10I did another day it would have gone. There was splints and a

0:38:10 > 0:38:14ruptured muscle. The next Sport Relief will be torture. Who ever

0:38:14 > 0:38:17does - whatever anyone does next - it's got to hurt them. I am

0:38:17 > 0:38:22switching my phone off! Even at the start when you were

0:38:22 > 0:38:26cycling, there was a bit when Greg said, you have two hours to go. You

0:38:26 > 0:38:30looked at the fall. I thought you were going to cry. I know, I know

0:38:30 > 0:38:33because it was the momentum. I knew it would run on to the next day and

0:38:33 > 0:38:37it would run on to the next day and the next day and the next day. What

0:38:37 > 0:38:41people need to understand is it's for real. There's no short cut, is

0:38:41 > 0:38:45there? They will not let you take a short cut. They will not say, look,

0:38:45 > 0:38:49for the cameras we will pretend you are running, get in the car and

0:38:49 > 0:38:53drive ten miles. I know they won't because I kept on suggesting it. It

0:38:53 > 0:38:57is like when you did your thing in the South Pole. You are in the

0:38:57 > 0:39:01middle of nowhere. You are not allowed to cheat. Either in your

0:39:01 > 0:39:07own head or with them. The suffering and the pain is real,

0:39:07 > 0:39:16really. I was jealous you had people clapping you along? There

0:39:17 > 0:39:20was no polar bears going "Go on Helen?" You had support from people

0:39:20 > 0:39:25like Denise. When we got in the boat, we were pulling out. It was

0:39:25 > 0:39:29great for the first couple of hours. Halfway through, as everyone saw in

0:39:29 > 0:39:33the documentary, I was completely gone until they gave me the

0:39:33 > 0:39:38medication and the fluids to get going again. They were immense.

0:39:38 > 0:39:42They were brilliant by pulling me through it. You were laughing and

0:39:42 > 0:39:48smiling. Have you recovered? Just about. I was on crutches for a week.

0:39:48 > 0:39:53I had various swellings the week after. Now it all just hurts.

0:39:53 > 0:39:57he was on crutches, it still hurts and we will send you off to do the

0:39:57 > 0:40:02Sport Relief Mile. Go and enjoy the mile. I don't know about enjoy!

0:40:02 > 0:40:08I'll go and do it. For those worried about John, don't worry, he

0:40:08 > 0:40:16was fine. He left here smiling. No crutches were involved. He had a

0:40:16 > 0:40:22possible fracture. I spent a couple of months in Antarctica and David

0:40:22 > 0:40:32Walliams swam the equivalent of the Channel every day. Do you think the

0:40:32 > 0:40:37hurt will match up to that? As far as I am concerned, yeah. We have

0:40:37 > 0:40:42you guys here and you have agreed to take part in the "shirt of

0:40:42 > 0:40:49hurt." This started with Danny Baker, he persuaded people to put

0:40:49 > 0:40:57on a shirt which belongs to a rival team. I will whip it on and off.

0:40:57 > 0:41:03will be the quickest mile we ever co-. -- do. Will it make you run

0:41:03 > 0:41:11fast? In an Everton shirt, I am sure I will go really slow. Do we

0:41:11 > 0:41:17get to keep it? Do you want to? Michael is a Man United fan. You is

0:41:18 > 0:41:26a to put on a Man City shirt. thop there are not many cameras out

0:41:26 > 0:41:34-- hope there are not many cameras out there. It is great. I can get

0:41:34 > 0:41:39it sweaty as well. How good is that? OK guys. It's stinging a

0:41:39 > 0:41:43little bit. Any football fans will know this is not a pleasant

0:41:43 > 0:41:51experience. You don't look comfortable. Over to the start

0:41:51 > 0:41:55line.... You are not running until 3.45pm. You will just is a -- have

0:41:55 > 0:42:00to stand in this. Sport Relief funds projects all over the world

0:42:00 > 0:42:04and plenty here in the UK. You probably don't realise that some of

0:42:04 > 0:42:10the projects your money benefits are right on your door step. We

0:42:10 > 0:42:15sent Olly Murs along to a charity in Manchester.

0:42:15 > 0:42:25Many of our milers have first-hand experience of the projects

0:42:25 > 0:42:27

0:42:27 > 0:42:32supported by Sport Relief. I've come to Manchester to meet Neil.

0:42:33 > 0:42:37had post traumatic stress. The symptoms are you very angry very

0:42:37 > 0:42:42easily. Bad dreams, nightmares. There were days where I would not

0:42:42 > 0:42:47get dressed. I would stay in, kaurtains closed. I would shut out

0:42:47 > 0:42:53the -- curtains closed. I would shut out the world. My partner said

0:42:53 > 0:42:59you should get in touch with somebody. I picked up the phone to

0:42:59 > 0:43:05Combat Stress. They reach out to communities

0:43:05 > 0:43:10across the country. I hope you guys can understand my Essex accent?

0:43:10 > 0:43:15They support veterans like Neil suffering mental health issues. How

0:43:15 > 0:43:23has combat stress changed your life? It's like walking alone

0:43:23 > 0:43:27through a pitch black maze. They give you a map and you find your

0:43:27 > 0:43:33way out. We learn things, from this type of a group, it has given me

0:43:33 > 0:43:41the tools to be able to cope with my condition. And saved our

0:43:41 > 0:43:47marriage. And saved our marriage. It is marriage guidance. Your money

0:43:47 > 0:43:52has helped Combat Stress - it aims to encourage more families and

0:43:52 > 0:43:58veterans to get help and keep the issues of a veteran's health firmly

0:43:58 > 0:44:01in the eye of the general public. Now, Neil and I have the Manchester

0:44:01 > 0:44:06Sport Relief Mile on our minds. We have the one-mile run. Are you

0:44:06 > 0:44:12looking forward to that? In the Army you have to do a mile-and-a-

0:44:12 > 0:44:17half in seven minutes 30 seconds. If we go... Ten minutes. That's not

0:44:17 > 0:44:22too bad. Why are you doing it? doing it to raise awareness and

0:44:22 > 0:44:32also to beat you. To beat me! He wants to beat me. Competitive. If

0:44:32 > 0:44:33

0:44:33 > 0:44:38that's how you want to be... I'm Here they are with us now, it's

0:44:38 > 0:44:43Olly and Neil. Do you normally get this many girls

0:44:43 > 0:44:46following you around, Neil? All the time! You two looked competitive at

0:44:46 > 0:44:51the end of that, but you are looking best of friends now. Are

0:44:51 > 0:44:59you going to race or run together? Run together. Neil's been

0:44:59 > 0:45:06practicing. You have been doing a mile in....? 10.36. Are you two

0:45:06 > 0:45:10pretending you are friend and Murs will push you at the end? 100%.

0:45:10 > 0:45:18long? I predict seven. You do run? I haven't tone one for two months.

0:45:18 > 0:45:21I am not sure how I will be. It is for a great cause. I met Neil at

0:45:21 > 0:45:26Combat Stress. I had a great day with the guys. I know where this

0:45:26 > 0:45:29money is going. I am determined to do a good mile. Anybody who has

0:45:29 > 0:45:33visited a project knows the money makes a difference. There are

0:45:33 > 0:45:39people here with a good fancy dress costume on. Did you fancy wearing

0:45:39 > 0:45:49an outfit. We wanted to do the Smurfs, but the BBC wouldn't let

0:45:49 > 0:45:51

0:45:51 > 0:45:54Enjoy the mile. See you later on. It is difficult to do anything when

0:45:54 > 0:46:03you have got Olly Murs because he stretches and wiggling and getting

0:46:03 > 0:46:07these girls into a frenzy. Now over here, look at this, Anthony Cotton

0:46:07 > 0:46:13from Coronation Street. Who is this? We are doing the mile

0:46:13 > 0:46:18together. We are going to walk. Who needs Olly Murs when you have

0:46:18 > 0:46:25got the dog. I want to you step aside. I don't want Taxi to get

0:46:25 > 0:46:35stood on. Everybody join me for the countdown. Five, four, three, two,

0:46:35 > 0:46:36

0:46:36 > 0:46:42one. Away they go in Manchester - well

0:46:42 > 0:46:46they haven't quite started. Helen thinks they have started. It

0:46:46 > 0:46:56doesn't look like they are ready to go. Everybody coming together and

0:46:56 > 0:46:58

0:46:58 > 0:47:03A good effort from Steve Cram come men men tating on people standing.

0:47:03 > 0:47:08Olly Murs thinks he is going to do it in 7 minutes, that's fast!

0:47:08 > 0:47:12Our next guests have always been great ambassadors for British sport

0:47:12 > 0:47:17and Sport Relief and between them they have more gold medals than you

0:47:17 > 0:47:22can shake an Olympic torch at! Please be upstanding for the king

0:47:22 > 0:47:27and queen of - it is OK. Technically, sir and dame. Sit up

0:47:27 > 0:47:32straight, Matt. Sir Steve Redgrave and Dame Kelly

0:47:32 > 0:47:36Holmes. Kelly, you have been out there,

0:47:36 > 0:47:41waving off some milers. What's the atmosphere like? It is incredible.

0:47:41 > 0:47:47It is constant. There is not a stop or let-up in it. It is great to see

0:47:47 > 0:47:51families together, young, old, cats, dogs, bears, whatever it is!

0:47:51 > 0:47:57You haven't done your mile yet, have you? I haven't. I have got a

0:47:57 > 0:48:02knee injury, but I'm going to find a baby in a buggy and have a jog

0:48:02 > 0:48:08around. Kelly will get around, there is no doubt about that.

0:48:08 > 0:48:14We haven't had the medal presentation yet. Out of all the

0:48:14 > 0:48:20medals you have, out of all the competitions. It is silver. You

0:48:20 > 0:48:26just want to get the Union Flag, there we are, Steve Redgrave.

0:48:26 > 0:48:30And the anthem. We have to congratulate you on for

0:48:30 > 0:48:38your lifetime award. You said that the idea for Sport Relief came up

0:48:38 > 0:48:41in your lounge. Can you clarify, is this the truth? It is true. Kevin

0:48:41 > 0:48:45Cahill is the Chief Executive of Sport Relief and we used to have

0:48:45 > 0:48:51sporting challenges in the Red Nose Day and it was every other year and

0:48:51 > 0:48:57he thought why don't we get sports people together and do that? He

0:48:57 > 0:49:03came around to my house and this was before I I went off to Sydney

0:49:03 > 0:49:08in 2000 and now seeing where it has gone to and the money raised on

0:49:08 > 0:49:12Friday night. It is incredible. You must feel proud? I have played

0:49:12 > 0:49:16a very small part. I am one of the trustees and helping where the

0:49:16 > 0:49:19money goes and seeing the projects. I turned 50 on Friday so I wasn't

0:49:19 > 0:49:22in the studios on Friday night, but when you are seeing the programme

0:49:22 > 0:49:25and I watched most of it on the evening and you are seeing the

0:49:25 > 0:49:30documentaries made up and I have been to some of those places, it

0:49:30 > 0:49:33really does tug on your heart and the British public is fantastic at

0:49:33 > 0:49:37getting behind and raising the money that's really going to save

0:49:37 > 0:49:41people's lives. And getting in the mood for the

0:49:41 > 0:49:46Olympics that's coming up. We have got loads of young hopefuls for the

0:49:46 > 0:49:52Olympics in the future. There is a few that might get signed up the

0:49:52 > 0:49:55way they are going around today. I have some of my athletes

0:49:55 > 0:49:59competing today. This is great for them. This is actually a day off

0:49:59 > 0:50:05for them to, come and run the mile, you know.

0:50:05 > 0:50:11The whole year of sport, you know, Great Britain is just ramping up

0:50:11 > 0:50:15for just unbelievable energy, you know, with this the jubilee.

0:50:15 > 0:50:19If this is a sign of things to come, it is a great start.

0:50:19 > 0:50:24And the weather is going to be like this the whole year

0:50:24 > 0:50:34Kelly, you have got to go and do your mile. Thank you both.

0:50:34 > 0:50:36

0:50:36 > 0:50:39Pleasure. Good luck finding a a pram and many

0:51:05 > 0:51:11Relief? About 50 to 60. Oh, that's tremendous.

0:51:11 > 0:51:21This is a very novel idea. Hose idea was it? We thought of a three-

0:51:21 > 0:51:22

0:51:22 > 0:51:25legged race and we thought we would Congratulations. There is your

0:51:25 > 0:51:35Sport Relief medal. There you go. Thank you.

0:52:13 > 0:52:18

0:52:23 > 0:52:33just love doing it every year. It is great to be able to get out

0:53:08 > 0:53:33

0:53:33 > 0:53:43They are doing it Bristol fashion, This is Bristol at its best.

0:53:43 > 0:53:46

0:53:46 > 0:53:51Everybody out on the streets doing Thank you. Thank you so much.

0:53:52 > 0:53:56For pulling your Sport Relief socks up. And doing the Sport Relief Mile.

0:53:56 > 0:54:04Thank you for pulling your Sport Relief socks up.

0:54:04 > 0:54:11And doing the Sport Relief Mile. Well done. Brave.

0:54:11 > 0:54:19Bravo. It is time to head back to our fun-

0:54:19 > 0:54:22You join me now for what can only be described as surreal. We all

0:54:22 > 0:54:28know and love Strictly Come Dancing and this year's Sport Relief

0:54:28 > 0:54:31brought us the special Strictly Underwater. Here we thought, "How

0:54:31 > 0:54:38could we take it to the next level?" We spent minutes thinking

0:54:38 > 0:54:43about it and came up with Strictly Three-legged. Our first competitors

0:54:44 > 0:54:50are Ann Widdecombe and her leg partner, Anton bu beck.

0:54:51 > 0:55:00-- due beck. Her leg partner? Could you not come

0:55:01 > 0:55:03

0:55:03 > 0:55:09up with a better title? No doubt routine has got a good routine.

0:55:09 > 0:55:13We have swimmer Mark Foster and Natalie. You have a bit of a height

0:55:13 > 0:55:16advantage? It doesn't count for anything when you fall on the

0:55:16 > 0:55:21floor! Give them a head start, maybe.

0:55:21 > 0:55:26We will. We have a tail here. All right. Good luck. Good luck.

0:55:26 > 0:55:29The rules are simple. First across the finishing lines wins, well

0:55:29 > 0:55:35nothing. There is no prize, just a warm fuzzy feeling that you came

0:55:36 > 0:55:39first. If you are ready to leg it, first. If you are ready to leg it,

0:55:39 > 0:55:49on your marks, away you go. Mark and Natalie with a leg length

0:55:49 > 0:55:50

0:55:50 > 0:55:54advantage and Ann and Anton normally well, a steward's inquiry.

0:55:55 > 0:55:59Ann and Anton demonstrating slow motion in real-time here! But you

0:55:59 > 0:56:04have to say that this is still a close race here and the fact that

0:56:04 > 0:56:10they have remained tight together. Oh, look, referee. What's going on

0:56:10 > 0:56:14here? A real departure from the rules!

0:56:14 > 0:56:17They win it! However, did they stick to the

0:56:17 > 0:56:23rules? I suspect not!

0:56:23 > 0:56:28Well, well done all of them. It was a close race again and a lot of fun.

0:56:28 > 0:56:33But these two got it wrong early on, didn't they? They look together

0:56:33 > 0:56:37mind, it is all about synchronisation and fancy foodwork,

0:56:37 > 0:56:42but it was these two who improvised. Watch this, quick thinking and that

0:56:42 > 0:56:52shows real upper body strength from Anton there. Well done!

0:56:52 > 0:56:52

0:56:52 > 0:57:02Determination all the way. And a The judges have called it as a tie,

0:57:02 > 0:57:03

0:57:03 > 0:57:06but I thought you won? I thought we Well, it is not only celebrities

0:57:07 > 0:57:12that have been limbering up for Sport Relief, actual royalty has

0:57:12 > 0:57:16been flying the flag for the mile and pounding the pavements overseas,

0:57:16 > 0:57:26over 40 countries have hosted mile events this year and a local lad,

0:57:26 > 0:57:32

0:57:32 > 0:57:39The hot Flamingo Beach was the venue for the Sport Relief Mile.

0:57:39 > 0:57:45Hundreds of of people came to take part along with a special guest.

0:57:45 > 0:57:50Three, two, one. After officially starting the event,

0:57:50 > 0:57:53it didn't take long for Prince Harry to get into his stride.

0:57:53 > 0:58:00Even Prince William put in a surprise appearance as Prince Harry

0:58:00 > 0:58:04wore a facemask of his brother for part of the run.

0:58:04 > 0:58:08Despite the heat, Prince Harry breezed home in an impressive

0:58:08 > 0:58:13eight-and-a-half minutes. Our Prince Charming led the way for

0:58:13 > 0:58:18thousands of Sport Relief Milers around the world who joined in the

0:58:18 > 0:58:23fun, thanks to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for organising

0:58:23 > 0:58:27miles in over 40 countries. The money raised goes directly to local

0:58:27 > 0:58:30charities. The Sport Relief Mile has captured the imagination all

0:58:30 > 0:58:34over the world. Sport Relief.

0:58:34 > 0:58:39For miles around the world, you can probably see there are thousands of

0:58:39 > 0:58:42people who are about to take part in the next mile on the Mall. For

0:58:42 > 0:58:45some doing a mile isn't enough and we have had the home nations

0:58:45 > 0:58:48challenge with a load of sports stars and celebrities from England,

0:58:48 > 0:58:52Wales and from Scotland and from Northern Ireland who over the past

0:58:52 > 0:59:02week have been taking part in a Sport Relief challenge to go round

0:59:02 > 0:59:12

0:59:12 > 0:59:16Part one of the race would begin and end in their representative

0:59:16 > 0:59:21capital cities as the teams battled to complete the fastest lap of the

0:59:21 > 0:59:25country. Run, Forest, run! The clebities are running, --

0:59:25 > 0:59:30celebrities are running, sailing and cycling around the country in a

0:59:30 > 0:59:33week-long battle for national pride. After part one, England were

0:59:33 > 0:59:37leading the race which continued today when the celebrity teams were

0:59:37 > 0:59:47joined by members of the public in a bid to become the first nation

0:59:47 > 1:00:10

1:00:10 > 1:00:14So the big question is, who won? Who is the champion home nation? It

1:00:14 > 1:00:22was the average time which was combined - it was England who came

1:00:22 > 1:00:26out on top. Here is their ham piyon captain with a magnificent -- their

1:00:26 > 1:00:31champion captain, with a magnificent trophy. Last week was

1:00:31 > 1:00:35tough, actually. The guys did well. The participants were fantastic.

1:00:35 > 1:00:39The support guys from the military were brilliant. It is nice to be a

1:00:39 > 1:00:43sunny day on The Mall today. Will you come back and defend the title?

1:00:43 > 1:00:49I will take this home and drink out of it this afternoon. It will be

1:00:49 > 1:00:55fun. Thank you. Delighted - over the moon for England. We got the

1:00:55 > 1:01:01Grand Slam! We got the Grand Slam. The first guest is simply known as

1:01:02 > 1:01:11one of this country's finest actors. Other is known as "the hamster."

1:01:11 > 1:01:17is David Tennent and Richard Hammond. When you said the greatest

1:01:17 > 1:01:21actor thing, I thought come on! have presented and you have been

1:01:21 > 1:01:28promoted this year. We have been doing Sport Relief goes global.

1:01:29 > 1:01:34Down the road we have that studio this big - it's tiny. I am doing an

1:01:34 > 1:01:38international show. The idea being, it is immensely successful. Let's

1:01:38 > 1:01:48take it around the world and tell everybody about it. Did you have to

1:01:48 > 1:01:51

1:01:51 > 1:01:56do a sporting challenge to show your sporting produce west?

1:01:57 > 1:02:03-- prowess. Have you done a mile? I ae done 15.

1:02:03 > 1:02:09Where's your medal? I won the Sport Relief Mile. There

1:02:09 > 1:02:14is some dispute that he may have cheated. There were some kids he

1:02:14 > 1:02:21elbowed. It is the closest I will get to winning a sporting medal.

1:02:22 > 1:02:27Aam clinging on to it. Everybody is running together.

1:02:27 > 1:02:32There are so many people and it is going on for miles and literally

1:02:33 > 1:02:39miles. It is fantastic to be part of. How important is it that all

1:02:39 > 1:02:43these people are out here today to support such a fantastic cause?

1:02:43 > 1:02:48money that Comic Relief and Sport Relief raises is extraordinary,

1:02:48 > 1:02:52thank goodness n this country and all over the world. When you see it

1:02:52 > 1:02:57first-hand it takes your breath away. You see lives being

1:02:57 > 1:03:03transformed. I made a film about cataract operations in Africa. The

1:03:03 > 1:03:11money to us is a pittance. Yet, it - so much can be done with that

1:03:11 > 1:03:17money out there. It transforms lives. It is about connecting. All

1:03:17 > 1:03:23of us here are immediately connected with people to raise 5

1:03:23 > 1:03:29to buy a mosquito net or a vaccine. Around the country we are seeing

1:03:29 > 1:03:36people going for it - you know one, three, six miles, - people go for

1:03:36 > 1:03:41it. All eyes will be on you. I have my wife and daughters down there.

1:03:41 > 1:03:49Otherwise you would not have time to time me. It is time for you to

1:03:49 > 1:03:56show what you are made of. Let's count him through. We'll

1:03:56 > 1:04:03watch you flyby. We have a present for you. It is a pack to sort of

1:04:03 > 1:04:12help you out on the way. What? thought of something more

1:04:12 > 1:04:16adventurerous. What is that? scotch egg. A gum shields? You will

1:04:16 > 1:04:22attract so much more interest as the global face - we have extra

1:04:22 > 1:04:28protection for you. If things go bad and you go slowly, here is this

1:04:28 > 1:04:38mask for you to put on. Thank you very much. Good luck with

1:04:38 > 1:04:41

1:04:41 > 1:04:45I'll win. Thanks. Pleasure. If you have done your mile, why not let us

1:04:45 > 1:04:50know and we might share your news know and we might share your news

1:04:50 > 1:04:56with the nation. The details are D on the screen. There you are.

1:04:56 > 1:05:01We have a message from Bethanne, she said she raised 100 for Sport

1:05:01 > 1:05:07Relief because of the wonderful people at her school who sponsored

1:05:07 > 1:05:15her. "I enjoyed doing my Sport Relief so much I have signed up to

1:05:15 > 1:05:21do a second one today."" This man's son raised 250.

1:05:21 > 1:05:26Matt did a sponsored dance yesterday and raised 85. Thank you.

1:05:26 > 1:05:30This year more children than ever have been doing their mile. They

1:05:30 > 1:05:36have been doing everything they can do. This big thank you is

1:05:36 > 1:05:39especially for you kids. Many of our most dedicated

1:05:39 > 1:05:43fundraisers can be found in thousands of schools all over the

1:05:43 > 1:05:47UK. They have got active and raised mountains of cash for Sport Relief.

1:05:47 > 1:05:52What we thought we would do today is come to one of those super

1:05:52 > 1:05:57schools and give them a treat, they will hopefully never forget. I have

1:05:57 > 1:06:03been sent here to say thank you. As a reward we will take you on a very

1:06:03 > 1:06:09special school trip. Little do they know, but I am about

1:06:09 > 1:06:15to take them to Manchester United's training ground to meet Wayne

1:06:15 > 1:06:23Rooney and Rio Ferdinand. Here we go.

1:06:23 > 1:06:28Look who it is, everybody. We've heard all the stuff you've

1:06:28 > 1:06:38done. We are here, me and Wayne after training to give you a game.

1:06:38 > 1:06:42

1:06:42 > 1:06:52If we lose, is there going to be a problem?

1:06:52 > 1:06:52

1:06:52 > 1:06:56This is a strong look! Nice!

1:06:56 > 1:07:06Give me five, man. You can't leave me hanging!

1:07:06 > 1:07:07

1:07:07 > 1:07:14Nice! Cheer then. Congratulations. Cheers. Thank you

1:07:14 > 1:07:18very much. This is for you guys. This is what we won. Brilliant!

1:07:18 > 1:07:22Wonderful stuff. Thank you to all of the schools that have raised so

1:07:22 > 1:07:27much money so far. We could not have done it without your help. My

1:07:27 > 1:07:35two-year-old daughter did it with her nursery. She went the full mile.

1:07:35 > 1:07:39She is only two-and-a-half! You will see what happened when the

1:07:39 > 1:07:441,000th miler arrived to run the mile. David Walliams inspired a

1:07:44 > 1:07:51very special mile indeed. Before all of that, well we are going back

1:07:51 > 1:08:01to John who is enjoying the sunshine at the mile start line.

1:08:01 > 1:08:03

1:08:04 > 1:08:07Each wave is 2,000-4,000 people. With me I have Louise Redknapp and

1:08:07 > 1:08:14you are the Wayne Rooney of women's football. How important is your

1:08:14 > 1:08:18preparation for this mile? The mile will be a course crucial. Look how

1:08:18 > 1:08:24many people are here. Sport unites people. Hopefully the Olympics will

1:08:24 > 1:08:28do the same. If you run fast enough Louise you could beat an Olympian.

1:08:28 > 1:08:32I don't know about that. I will not break any records on this mile

1:08:32 > 1:08:38today, but you know it's a great cause, a great day, great

1:08:38 > 1:08:42atmosphere. Looking forward to it. How do you keep fit? I do some

1:08:42 > 1:08:47running around the block. Two children, go to work, a little

1:08:47 > 1:08:51pillartys. That is about it! It kind of goes without saying that

1:08:52 > 1:08:56all of the money raised, the staggering millions you have raised,

1:08:56 > 1:09:01I am sure we'll give you a total at the end of the programme, 50% goes

1:09:01 > 1:09:04to projects in this country. We sent Dame Kelly Holmes to an

1:09:04 > 1:09:08operation not far away from here, in London, to see how crucial the

1:09:08 > 1:09:14money you have raised has been to helping young people.

1:09:14 > 1:09:20I have come to East London to visit Sky Way, a youth project, to meet

1:09:20 > 1:09:24the milers that will pull their Sport Relief socks up. Sky Way

1:09:24 > 1:09:30provides support to young people and offers them an alternative to

1:09:30 > 1:09:35gang life. Come here. Nice to meet you. Tell me, you are the coach.

1:09:35 > 1:09:40You tame here to the Blue sap Heart, how many years ago? Six years ago.

1:09:40 > 1:09:44Why did you come here? I was interested in football, helping out

1:09:44 > 1:09:52the community. I wasn't doing anything. I was on the streets,

1:09:52 > 1:09:58doing stupidness. I thought, oh, I could do something more creative. I

1:09:58 > 1:10:01started helping other kids. Started being a role model. Are you proud?

1:10:01 > 1:10:05Yes. It has helped create an environment where young people can

1:10:05 > 1:10:11come together, grow in confidence and feel secure. It feels like a

1:10:11 > 1:10:19second house to me. You come and just relax. It's a fine area. When

1:10:19 > 1:10:27we get out of the club there are things that wouldn't be done, but

1:10:27 > 1:10:33the youth club, it's already. the boys here the sports mile is

1:10:33 > 1:10:37around the corner. I need to start being fit again. We cannot be

1:10:37 > 1:10:41playing games! OK? This, you've got a Sport Relief Mile to get ready

1:10:41 > 1:10:45for. There you go - there are your socks - the Union Jack.

1:10:45 > 1:10:55I hope you've all been training hard.

1:10:55 > 1:10:56

1:10:56 > 1:11:00Thank you very much. See you there. Have a great mile.

1:11:00 > 1:11:06Here is Kelly Holmes. With a back pack. I have my niece here. We will

1:11:06 > 1:11:10see how far we can get. I have all the athletes behind me,

1:11:10 > 1:11:16international athletes. You are on camp with Kelly, you might have

1:11:16 > 1:11:23created four Olympians perhaps this summer? Fingers crossed, we reckon

1:11:23 > 1:11:28there'll be about four Olympians. You never know, they have to get

1:11:28 > 1:11:35selected. They could make it. It will be fantastic. Some of these

1:11:35 > 1:11:38behind me are potential Olympians. How much do you enjoy mentoring the

1:11:38 > 1:11:44next generation of stars compared to when you were competing? I love

1:11:44 > 1:11:47it. It takes so much to be an Olympic champion or an Olympian.

1:11:47 > 1:11:52People don't see behind the scenes, they just see the performance. If I

1:11:52 > 1:11:58can pass on my expertise with the help of other support teams around

1:11:58 > 1:12:03me it would be fantastic. Tell us, one of your charities has benefited

1:12:03 > 1:12:08from Sport Relief money, hasn't it? The Kelly Holmes legacy trust, we

1:12:08 > 1:12:14have partnered with centre point. We have touched 108,000 homeless

1:12:14 > 1:12:20people through the work we do with my charity and retired sport and

1:12:20 > 1:12:23champions. What did you make of your Sky Way project? Very

1:12:24 > 1:12:27inspirational. You have some young people in Hackney who want an

1:12:27 > 1:12:32opportunity to get out of gangs and come to a place where they can be

1:12:32 > 1:12:36who they want to be. And have a chance of, you know fulfilling

1:12:36 > 1:12:45their aspirations. It is lovely to see you. Are you running? I am

1:12:45 > 1:12:49going to give it a go. I have hurt my knee.... Athletes you are all

1:12:49 > 1:12:57hypochondriacs. What are you doing? I have my two daughters here to

1:12:57 > 1:13:02carry me. That is my plan. Were you not supposed to be running in a

1:13:02 > 1:13:06Jeremy Clarkson mask? I think there is something alien about that. Why

1:13:06 > 1:13:11should I run it with his face on? Are you looking forward to it?

1:13:11 > 1:13:16Definitely. Does it matter if you beat your sister or not? It might

1:13:16 > 1:13:23matter a bit. I would like to beat her. I am guessing you are younger.

1:13:23 > 1:13:32You have got to win, OK? Now, listen, we are almost ready to go.

1:13:32 > 1:13:41Good Lord I am walking past John McCrick.

1:13:41 > 1:13:46Here we go. Up to the podium to Steve Redgrave, five times an

1:13:46 > 1:13:54Olympic gold medallist. Do applaud. Steve, are you ready? Do you have

1:13:54 > 1:14:04your klaxon to hand? I am all ready. Give us the countdown. Five, four,

1:14:04 > 1:14:07

1:14:07 > 1:14:15three, two, one.... KLAXON So Kelly Holmes, Richard Hammond

1:14:15 > 1:14:22and thousands of others set off on another wave. It is great to see so

1:14:22 > 1:14:30many celebrities join in. The Mall, which will play such a central role

1:14:30 > 1:14:35in the Olympics has been a perfect backdrop. Tonight forget, many are

1:14:35 > 1:14:39doing the one milement. You have probably noticed that some people

1:14:39 > 1:14:43are turning around and going back again. You can do three miles or

1:14:44 > 1:14:49six miles if you are really keen 789 it doesn't matter how fast or

1:14:50 > 1:14:57slow. Some great costumes. That is one of the best.

1:14:57 > 1:15:0117 major events over 700 different mile events across the country. One

1:15:01 > 1:15:04million of you have taken part this weekend. You have been fans the

1:15:04 > 1:15:14tick. -- fantastic.

1:15:14 > 1:15:14

1:15:14 > 1:15:24It is great to see so many It has been a very special year for

1:15:24 > 1:15:30

1:15:30 > 1:15:37That's a fantastic sight and London has put on a brilliant show as

1:15:37 > 1:15:42indeed has the whole of the country. There is a few people down there in

1:15:42 > 1:15:52Santa Claus outfits. They must be hot! It has been sweltering today.

1:15:52 > 1:15:57

1:15:57 > 1:16:05John was harsh on John ma John Mc Ciric.

1:16:05 > 1:16:11You never know! Well done. Well done.

1:16:11 > 1:16:17Kelly Holmes was so relaxed, but put her on the start line., "I will

1:16:17 > 1:16:23Carry my weight and I will do double the distance.". It is not

1:16:23 > 1:16:27just on the Mall that the mile is in full flow.

1:16:27 > 1:16:37We go to Newcastle, Gateshead and Southampton.

1:16:37 > 1:16:38

1:16:38 > 1:16:48Accompanying the milers are one of the musical highlights from Friday

1:16:48 > 1:17:14

1:17:14 > 1:17:17Wow. Let's go! # Everybody just have a good time

1:17:17 > 1:17:21# We'll just make you lose your minute

1:17:21 > 1:17:31# We just want to see you shake that

1:17:31 > 1:17:54

1:17:54 > 1:17:58# Every day I'm shuffling Shuffling, shuffling

1:17:58 > 1:18:01# Get down, get down # Put your hands up to the sky

1:18:01 > 1:18:11# Get down, put your hands up to the sky

1:18:11 > 1:18:13

1:18:13 > 1:18:23# Put your hands up to the sky # Get down, get down, get down

1:18:23 > 1:18:23

1:18:23 > 1:18:26# Put your hands up to the sky # # The party is in the house

1:18:26 > 1:18:36tonight # Everybody is going to have a good

1:18:36 > 1:19:02

1:19:02 > 1:19:12time I'm Pixie Lott. I'm Katy Perry.

1:19:12 > 1:19:16I'm Jess I'm Jessie J Thank you to everyone who went the extra mile

1:19:16 > 1:19:23for Sport Relief. Still to come... Olly Murs.

1:19:23 > 1:19:26David Walliams. And The One Show One Thousand finale.

1:19:26 > 1:19:32Thank you very much indeed for the messages that you have been sending

1:19:32 > 1:19:38in. Jenny said, "My son and I have been stretch in the garden to get

1:19:38 > 1:19:41for my mile. My son Calum is three years old. He has raised 70 and he

1:19:41 > 1:19:46wants to help the people he saw on Friday night.

1:19:46 > 1:19:49Fiona Evans completed a five kilometre swim for Sport Relief.

1:19:49 > 1:19:55That's 200 lengths and it was my best time too!

1:19:55 > 1:19:59It is time for our last visit to our fun-sized track.

1:19:59 > 1:20:05You join me for what can only be described as ground breaking. Sport

1:20:05 > 1:20:09Relief is about the worlds of sport and entertainment colliding. We

1:20:09 > 1:20:19have combined two outstanding representatives in their fields of

1:20:19 > 1:20:20

1:20:20 > 1:20:27representatives. It is Tiger Drew- Honey and Fatima Whitbread. Now you

1:20:27 > 1:20:33are intent on winning? Well, we changed our dance shoes for track

1:20:33 > 1:20:40shoes and I'm going to kick a back side over there.

1:20:40 > 1:20:44We have Daniel and Chris. Have you been in training?

1:20:44 > 1:20:49ready to rock'n'roll. Off you go, Chris to the starting

1:20:49 > 1:20:57position. All they have to do a bit of hurdling and like all great

1:20:57 > 1:21:01races, bounce their way to victory, but as this is Sport Relief it is

1:21:01 > 1:21:04the Outnumbered boys hurdling or attempt to go. Three, two, one, off

1:21:04 > 1:21:08you go. Oh, that looked like a false start

1:21:08 > 1:21:16from Daniel. He is treating these more like a high jump than a hurdle.

1:21:16 > 1:21:24Tiger is trying to get Fatima going and Fatima got to a good start.

1:21:24 > 1:21:33Chris and Fatima is out in in front. But Has she got the endurance.

1:21:33 > 1:21:38Fatima Whitbread gets the victory. It took Chris a while to get moving

1:21:38 > 1:21:41and he nearly caught her in the end. That start was crucial. Look at

1:21:41 > 1:21:46there, he hasn't got a clue what he is doing, has he? Daniel doing his

1:21:46 > 1:21:54best to cheer him on, but it was Fatima Whitbread who hung on for

1:21:54 > 1:21:59the victory. A great race. Fatima, had you thought about that

1:21:59 > 1:22:07in advance? I had a game plan going on there. I know Chris was eager to

1:22:07 > 1:22:10beat me. The last time we competed in an egg and spoon race in my back

1:22:10 > 1:22:14garden. Where does that rank? It is up

1:22:14 > 1:22:18there amongst the best. Mate, you have had it, you are over

1:22:18 > 1:22:24the hill, you are finished. I was trying to do the Colin

1:22:24 > 1:22:34Jackson, dipping at the line, my head and shoulders came across

1:22:34 > 1:22:34

1:22:34 > 1:22:38before Fatima. There is a whole series. This could

1:22:38 > 1:22:43be its own Olympics. This was a pilot for an Olympic

1:22:43 > 1:22:48series! Fatima Whitbread takes the victory.

1:22:48 > 1:22:51On a spacehopper. Now we know there have been amazing challenges for

1:22:51 > 1:23:01Sport Relief this year. And if you have been inspired it is

1:23:01 > 1:23:09not too too late to to do your bit. Why not sign up to dot Big swap --

1:23:09 > 1:23:14do the the Big Splash Swim-a-thon. One gentleman wanted to take on a

1:23:14 > 1:23:18personal challenge. Before David took on the Thames, he

1:23:18 > 1:23:27visited Wandsworth Older People's Forum and met Alan.

1:23:27 > 1:23:34Alan use add wheelchair since -- used a wheelchair after surgery.

1:23:34 > 1:23:38Alan is determined to walk. He wanted to do his bit for sport

1:23:38 > 1:23:41Sport Relief. I am below the start line with Alan

1:23:42 > 1:23:46and David. You start off in September for that incredible swim.

1:23:46 > 1:23:52A different story here today? amazing so many people. But for the

1:23:52 > 1:23:57star for me today is Alan. Alan is 71, that's right, isn't it? Alan

1:23:57 > 1:24:01had a stroke six years and he is going to try and attempt to travel

1:24:01 > 1:24:05the last few hundred meters of the mile unaided which is fantastic.

1:24:05 > 1:24:09This is what Sport Relief is all about which is, you know, trying

1:24:09 > 1:24:15your hardest, whoever you are. Alan, you were inspired by David's

1:24:15 > 1:24:20efforts, weren't you, to get up and do this? I found out he had also

1:24:20 > 1:24:25swam the channel and got a lot of money for Sport Relief and I

1:24:26 > 1:24:29decided I had to try something. It is fantastic. So this is it.

1:24:29 > 1:24:31Best of luck. It is truly inspirationalment we

1:24:31 > 1:24:41wish you the best and we hope it goes well for you.

1:24:41 > 1:24:48So many people today coming with all sorts of stories and Alan's is

1:24:48 > 1:24:52a special one and it is great that David Walliams's exploits inspired

1:24:52 > 1:24:56him with his personal battle to try and get himself moving again and he

1:24:56 > 1:25:01said, "I have been working so hard just to be able to walk 100 yards."

1:25:01 > 1:25:11He set the target that he could try and walk 300 yards today and he

1:25:11 > 1:25:15

1:25:15 > 1:25:20Alan, that was absolutely incredible. We will pull your chair

1:25:21 > 1:25:25in. You have done it, my man, let me hand you the medal.

1:25:25 > 1:25:28Thank you very much. You are a true inspiration. Let me

1:25:28 > 1:25:33shake you by the hand. How was it, Alan? Tiring.

1:25:33 > 1:25:37It was tiring. Well, listen, you have raised an incredible amount of

1:25:37 > 1:25:43money and your efforts are truly, truly, truly incredible. Well done.

1:25:43 > 1:25:46I want to thank all the people who have sponsored me. Well, there you

1:25:46 > 1:25:50are, congratulations. Brilliant. You've done it.

1:25:50 > 1:25:59Cheers. It seemed a long way away when I started.

1:25:59 > 1:26:03What a guy. And he did it in such lovely humour.

1:26:03 > 1:26:09He was smiling and waving. Richard Hammond is clearly doing

1:26:09 > 1:26:13his job well as global am bass do, Luke says, "I just ran the Sport

1:26:13 > 1:26:16Relief Mile in New York." Good on the hamster!

1:26:16 > 1:26:24Time for our final lap of the country to see some of the of the

1:26:24 > 1:26:34weird and wonderful ways you have been completing your Sainsbury's

1:26:34 > 1:26:38

1:26:38 > 1:26:43We have comic book heroes and cheerleaders. We have got them all,

1:26:43 > 1:26:51and they are doing the mile. over the country, there is people

1:26:51 > 1:27:01doing weird and whacky things today. There is a couple of cricketers I

1:27:01 > 1:27:10

1:27:10 > 1:27:18know running if a full cricket kit. The atmosphere is incredible. It is

1:27:18 > 1:27:22really good fun. It is fantastic. So many inspiring stories here

1:27:22 > 1:27:32today. So many whacky ways of doing the mile.

1:27:32 > 1:27:59

1:27:59 > 1:28:02This is Sport Relief in Hull. # I've got the moves like Jagger

1:28:02 > 1:28:04# I've got the moves like Jagger # Did you enjoy it. We did, didn't

1:28:04 > 1:28:08we? Are you out of breath? I thought it was really exciting.

1:28:08 > 1:28:17Any help that's needed, the people all come together and it is

1:28:17 > 1:28:21brilliant. I'm really proud of them. Some fantastic costumes and lots of

1:28:21 > 1:28:26money raised. We have had a great time in Hull. Goodbye from us.

1:28:26 > 1:28:30ALL: Goodbye. Welcome to Sport Relief in Cardiff, the home of

1:28:30 > 1:28:36Doctor Who, DALEKS and Grand Slam champions.

1:28:44 > 1:28:47no. As long as I don't do the splits, I will be all right!

1:28:47 > 1:28:51That's the good thing about today, you don't have to run it, people

1:28:51 > 1:28:57can come down and walk it if they want. It is a great family day out,

1:28:57 > 1:29:02you know. It was a good race. I was much

1:29:02 > 1:29:06better than in 2010 so I'm really chuffed with myself.

1:29:06 > 1:29:16You must be hot under there? It is not the day for running if a wig.

1:29:16 > 1:29:24

1:29:24 > 1:29:27Well, the sun shas sun has shone, we have had thousands of runners,

1:29:27 > 1:29:31it is goodbye from Cardiff, but don't forget to keep on giving to

1:29:31 > 1:29:34Sport Relief. Welcome to Brighton. This is the

1:29:34 > 1:29:42Sport Relief capital of the south. Down here, fancy dress is a way of

1:29:52 > 1:29:54

1:29:54 > 1:29:57Hopefully I can work this out. I don't know why I wore this! I

1:29:57 > 1:30:07thought I could do something fun for the three miles, but it was

1:30:07 > 1:30:22

1:30:22 > 1:30:27The force has been with them! Down here in Brighton they even have a

1:30:46 > 1:30:53Brilliant. Richard Hammond is back. All we are saying is he did it

1:30:53 > 1:31:01under 20 minutes. He is more popular than JLS. If all the people

1:31:01 > 1:31:05look at the footage there they must think Britain is nuts. I have

1:31:05 > 1:31:12completed a Sport Relief Mile with six friends on a space hopper,

1:32:09 > 1:32:12Across Manchester 10,000 people have taken part in the Sport Relief
