0:07:46 > 0:07:49like Ryan Giggs did, and Robbie Sav...

0:07:49 > 0:07:50Well, like Ryan Giggs did.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52You're playing with part-timers,

0:07:52 > 0:07:55footballers that are working down the supermarket during the week,

0:07:55 > 0:07:56cobblers and milkmen.

0:07:56 > 0:07:57You're Gareth Bale.

0:07:57 > 0:07:59Think how many more goals you'd score

0:07:59 > 0:08:02if you were being set up by Sterling and the Roondog.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06those puppies aren't going to look so bad, are they?

0:08:18 > 0:08:20- It's a joke.- You're a joke.

0:08:25 > 0:08:27How many times have I got to tell you?

0:08:30 > 0:08:32You know what, Gareth?

0:08:32 > 0:08:35When you left Spurs, you became a hero of mine.

0:08:35 > 0:08:36But I'm done with you, mate.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38You are dead to me, Gareth Bale.

0:08:38 > 0:08:41Look, there's a very easy way to get me to play for your team.

0:08:41 > 0:08:42How?

0:08:44 > 0:08:46Can't do any worse than England.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01Abso-bloody-lutely.

0:10:05 > 0:10:08Now for one of our fundraising champions.

0:10:08 > 0:10:13Eight-year-old Maddy had seen the plight of refugees around the world on television.

0:10:13 > 0:10:16She wanted to do something to help,

0:10:16 > 0:10:19so she took on a very personal challenge.

0:10:24 > 0:10:26I decided to get my bike and

0:10:26 > 0:10:30cycle round to everybody in my class's house,

0:10:30 > 0:10:32to raise money.

0:10:32 > 0:10:36Which was a good idea until we realised quite how far it was.

0:10:37 > 0:10:41Maddy's friends were scattered across St Albans in Hertfordshire,

0:10:41 > 0:10:46so she'd need a support team - or her fit dad, Matt.

0:10:47 > 0:10:48I was a little concerned.

0:10:48 > 0:10:50I thought it was slightly mad at first,

0:10:50 > 0:10:52but then she sat down with Matt

0:10:52 > 0:10:56and spent many hours working out the logistics of it all.

0:10:58 > 0:11:02We set off about ten o'clock in the morning from outside the house,

0:11:02 > 0:11:05and went through the first few houses for about two hours.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08I cycled all the way,

0:11:08 > 0:11:11and my dad ran alongside me all the way.

0:11:11 > 0:11:14And we got some funny messages from people saying,

0:11:14 > 0:11:15"Don't let your dad slow you down."

0:11:17 > 0:11:18And then we did the last leg,

0:11:18 > 0:11:20which was about another three hours, in the afternoon.

0:11:20 > 0:11:24And my friends were quite supportive, and they...

0:11:24 > 0:11:29And they cheered me on and gave me cakes and little snacks like that.

0:11:29 > 0:11:32The fact that there were people lining the streets throughout,

0:11:32 > 0:11:34and beeping their horns,

0:11:34 > 0:11:39and literally giving us money as we went round was quite uplifting.

0:11:41 > 0:11:44I cycled about 18 miles.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47I stopped at 27 houses

0:11:47 > 0:11:50and raised more than £2,500.

0:11:52 > 0:11:55It was very tricky to keep going,

0:11:55 > 0:12:00and you always have the worry that you might have to stop

0:12:00 > 0:12:03and abandon your trip.

0:12:03 > 0:12:05I definitely suffered more than she did.

0:12:05 > 0:12:06Definitely.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09Well, he did quite well.

0:12:10 > 0:12:11She just wanted to do something,

0:12:11 > 0:12:13and I suppose that's what made me feel really proud,

0:12:13 > 0:12:14that it came from her.

0:12:14 > 0:12:17The motivation was her wanting to help other people,

0:12:17 > 0:12:19and, yeah, so, proud mum.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26Bang on, Maddie. Well done.

0:12:26 > 0:12:29And thanks to the efforts of people like you,

0:12:29 > 0:12:32lives are being changed both here in the UK

0:12:32 > 0:12:35and in the world's poorest countries.

0:12:35 > 0:12:38Earlier this year, I was asked to go to Sierra Leone

0:12:38 > 0:12:41to see exactly why your donations are so crucial.

0:12:41 > 0:12:43And what I saw there

0:12:43 > 0:12:45broke my heart.

0:13:15 > 0:13:18and he works on this rubbish dump every single day.

0:13:21 > 0:13:24In fact, he has never known a life outside of it,

0:13:24 > 0:13:29because Usman and his family actually live on the dump.

0:13:33 > 0:13:38The kid is finding plastics, rubber, and the dad will sell it.

0:13:38 > 0:13:40What can he do with the money?

0:13:41 > 0:13:45They buy food so the little one will survive.

0:14:32 > 0:14:34They now live in relative safety.

0:14:35 > 0:14:37And they now have hope.

0:14:51 > 0:14:53Hassan has a business grant

0:14:53 > 0:14:56that allows him to find work away from the dump,

0:14:56 > 0:15:00enabling him to provide for his family.

0:15:00 > 0:15:03His children have been enrolled into school for the first time.

0:32:50 > 0:32:53Whilst Luther was disposing of the evidence,

0:32:53 > 0:32:56a group from Unite students took to two wheels,

0:32:56 > 0:32:59raising a huge amount of money for Sport Relief.

0:33:04 > 0:33:07We cycled 1,052 miles through Scotland and England.

0:33:09 > 0:33:11Such a big achievement, doing it all in one.

0:33:11 > 0:33:13I hadn't really done much long riding before that.

0:33:13 > 0:33:15So this was a big challenge for me.

0:33:20 > 0:33:22You've got to give it a go. It's really worthy and, you know,

0:33:22 > 0:33:25you get to the end and it's just such a good atmosphere with all the guys.

0:33:27 > 0:33:29A different person struggled for different reasons every day.

0:33:29 > 0:33:31It became all about finishing.

0:33:31 > 0:33:35If we finished a day in two groups, you'd find that the first group

0:33:35 > 0:33:37hadn't gone into the hotel to get warm.

0:33:37 > 0:33:40They'd be outside waiting for the second group to arrive.

0:33:40 > 0:33:42But actually, a few cities we were going through,

0:33:42 > 0:33:43stopping at traffic lights.

0:33:43 > 0:33:46We were all there in our bright blue jackets, big group of 12 of us.

0:33:46 > 0:33:48And people are saying, "What are you doing?"

0:33:48 > 0:33:50We said, "We're raising money for Sport Relief."

0:33:50 > 0:33:54People started handing us coins and notes, and throwing them in our back pockets of our jerseys.

0:33:55 > 0:33:58We challenged ourselves to raise £1 for every mile that we cycled.

0:33:58 > 0:34:00All our friends and family got right behind us,

0:34:00 > 0:34:04really supported us and we smashed it and raised an amazing £50,000.

0:34:04 > 0:34:08We had snow, we had rain, we had sleet.

0:34:08 > 0:34:10I've done other challenges in the past,

0:34:10 > 0:34:12but this was by far much bigger and better.

0:34:14 > 0:34:20I can sum this trip up in three words - camaraderie, inspirational,

0:34:20 > 0:34:22and a little bit emotional.

0:34:24 > 0:34:27I felt relief once I crossed the line.

0:34:27 > 0:34:30I look back now, there's not a day that I don't think about it.

0:34:30 > 0:34:32I still miss it. I'd still be...

0:34:32 > 0:34:35- Sorry.- He's crying.

0:34:38 > 0:34:40Do you want a hug?

0:34:40 > 0:34:42No, it was life-changing.

0:34:42 > 0:34:44It really was.

0:34:47 > 0:34:49Ah, what a legend.

0:34:49 > 0:34:53Well done, mate. And thanks to every single one of you who raised money.

0:34:53 > 0:34:58That money has already changed the lives of two little boys I met earlier this year.

0:34:58 > 0:35:01They wanted to become lawyers when I first met them.

0:35:01 > 0:35:04And that looked like an impossible dream.

0:35:08 > 0:35:11This is Marbella slum in Freetown.

0:35:11 > 0:35:14It's a bustling community, and home to thousands of people.

0:35:16 > 0:35:18But when the Ebola epidemic hit,

0:35:18 > 0:35:21this once vibrant place changed overnight.

0:35:22 > 0:35:26With people living so close to each other and in overcrowded homes,

0:35:26 > 0:35:29the deadly virus spread quickly.

0:35:30 > 0:35:32Mama!

0:35:32 > 0:35:35People became really scared.

0:35:35 > 0:35:39They were suspicious and even afraid of clinics and treatment centres.

0:35:40 > 0:35:44The ones who suffered most were children.

0:35:44 > 0:35:47I see why something like Ebola would hit a place like this.

0:35:48 > 0:35:50How can you avoid it with this?

0:35:50 > 0:35:52It's petrifying.

0:35:55 > 0:35:5912-year-old Mohammed and his little brother Musa

0:35:59 > 0:36:02witnessed some terrible things.

0:36:02 > 0:36:06As the only two surviving members of their entire family,

0:36:06 > 0:36:10they saw relative after relative be taken off to a treatment centre,

0:36:10 > 0:36:12never to see them again.

0:36:13 > 0:36:16With so many of their family having died from the virus,

0:36:16 > 0:36:19other people within the community

0:36:19 > 0:36:22became suspicious that the boys may have it, too.

0:36:39 > 0:36:43Although they did catch Ebola, the boys survived,

0:36:43 > 0:36:46now they're back at home and being supported by their mum's best friend.

0:36:50 > 0:36:52Why can't you go to school now?

0:36:56 > 0:36:59If you think about it, just two children.

0:36:59 > 0:37:01All they want to do is go to school.

0:37:01 > 0:37:04They just want to go to school and learn and better themselves,

0:37:04 > 0:37:06and they can't. They can't do it.

0:37:06 > 0:37:10They haven't got that option. That's it, end of.

0:37:13 > 0:37:15Now, thanks to your donations,

0:37:15 > 0:37:18these two boys have a future ahead of them.

0:37:19 > 0:37:24Their lives were shattered when both their parents died from Ebola.

0:37:24 > 0:37:27Now, they're living with the family of their mum's best friend and

0:37:27 > 0:37:30they're back in school. And they're thriving.

0:37:37 > 0:37:39Your money has bought books,

0:37:39 > 0:37:44school uniforms and paid for the school fees for these two young boys.

0:37:46 > 0:37:50Hopefully to allow them a future that they never dreamt possible.

0:37:53 > 0:37:56And that's why we need your support.

0:37:56 > 0:37:59That's why we are so grateful.

0:37:59 > 0:38:00Thank you.

0:38:00 > 0:38:02Now, without a doubt,

0:38:02 > 0:38:06one of the biggest highlights of Sport Relief this year was when

0:38:06 > 0:38:10Michael Crawford agreed to put his beret back on and cause carnage in a

0:38:10 > 0:38:15one-off special. So sit back and enjoy another chance to see it.

0:45:33 > 0:45:35'I can't believe after 42 years'

0:45:35 > 0:45:39that I'm actually bringing Frank back.

0:45:39 > 0:45:43But it is such a great cause that it was irresistible.

0:45:43 > 0:45:45The first thing he said to me was, "Look,

0:45:45 > 0:45:48"I will only do this if I'm able to do all my own stunts."

0:45:48 > 0:45:52And for a man who's in his early 70s, it's absolutely incredible.

0:45:52 > 0:45:54Everything we do is a little risky.

0:45:54 > 0:45:55But I don't get scared doing it.

0:45:55 > 0:45:58- Now that's good.- Because then I'd have too much fear and I wouldn't

0:45:58 > 0:46:00- be able to do it at all. - Oh, and all the way up.

0:46:00 > 0:46:03Look at that. 'It's an honour to be working with a living legend.'

0:46:16 > 0:46:19- I can't do it any faster than that. That's fast.- No, no, no, that's it.

0:46:19 > 0:46:21- We can do one more. - Let's try one more.

0:46:24 > 0:46:28Well, we had so many wonderful people that joined us,

0:46:28 > 0:46:31not least of which was Paul McCartney,

0:46:31 > 0:46:33who was a friend from way, way back.

0:46:33 > 0:46:35So if you just tell Ringo...

0:46:35 > 0:46:36Get out!

0:46:36 > 0:46:38Wow! Ow!

0:46:38 > 0:46:40- Sorry!- Bloody kids!

0:46:43 > 0:46:46Absolute privilege to do something with Michael Crawford,

0:46:46 > 0:46:48- he's been a hero of mine. - Do you live locally?

0:46:48 > 0:46:49Do you have a place of work?

0:46:49 > 0:46:51LAUGHTER

0:46:51 > 0:46:54Have you just arrived in our country?

0:46:54 > 0:46:55How are you, all right?

0:46:55 > 0:46:59'The last big stunt of the sketch is with Sir Bradley Wiggins,

0:46:59 > 0:47:02'which took a lot of training to get right.'

0:47:02 > 0:47:04- Action!- Hello, Mr Wiggins.

0:47:04 > 0:47:06It's Sir.

0:47:06 > 0:47:09He's a great sport, and we did about seven laps,

0:47:09 > 0:47:11and that's it till the night now.

0:47:13 > 0:47:15I don't know who was more scared,

0:47:15 > 0:47:17me towing him, a 74-year-old man along,

0:47:17 > 0:47:20or him holding on to me a week before the world championship.

0:47:20 > 0:47:21I'm ready!

0:47:22 > 0:47:24Wha...

0:47:24 > 0:47:25Frank!

0:47:26 > 0:47:28We had such an amazing team.

0:47:28 > 0:47:32And when we finally got it, there were tears in everyone's eyes,

0:47:32 > 0:47:36and it was just the most wonderful moment.

0:47:36 > 0:47:38It was really wonderful.

0:47:38 > 0:47:39Yeah.

0:47:43 > 0:47:45I think it's fair to say the man's a legend.

0:47:45 > 0:47:4874 and still doing his own stunts.

0:47:48 > 0:47:52A huge thank you to you, Michael, and also thank you to this next lot,

0:47:52 > 0:47:55who decided to play a five-a-side football match

0:47:55 > 0:47:59which lasted for an epic 57 hours.

0:48:02 > 0:48:03Yeah!

0:48:03 > 0:48:06By the time the battle of the five-a-sides was over,

0:48:06 > 0:48:11228 teams and over 1,100 players had taken part.

0:48:11 > 0:48:13Danny Jones, Josh Cuthbert

0:48:13 > 0:48:16and Rachel Riley joined the two captains

0:48:16 > 0:48:20in completing a mammoth, nonstop 12 hour stint.

0:48:20 > 0:48:22The weather was against them.

0:48:22 > 0:48:26The match was played through rain, sleet, high winds,

0:48:26 > 0:48:28with just a moment of sunshine.

0:48:28 > 0:48:30Team Shearer won,

0:48:30 > 0:48:33and the Premier League turned every £1 donated into a fiver.

0:48:35 > 0:48:38That money has gone to crucial projects, both here at home

0:48:38 > 0:48:40and around the world.

0:48:42 > 0:48:45And whilst they were battling the weather,

0:48:45 > 0:48:48a group of pensioners were battling the Scottish hills.

0:48:48 > 0:48:51MUSIC: Self Preservation Society by Quincy Jones

0:48:52 > 0:48:54I knew this was not a gentle walk,

0:48:54 > 0:48:56and I protested as loudly as I could.

0:48:58 > 0:49:02It's just a slight gradient, and then back into the pub.

0:49:02 > 0:49:04The weather wasn't too bad.

0:49:04 > 0:49:06I mean, we did get a few flurries of snow.

0:49:06 > 0:49:08This is Scotland, after all.

0:49:08 > 0:49:11It was about 5,000 plus feet climb.

0:49:14 > 0:49:16That's basically it.

0:49:16 > 0:49:19But it didn't kind of work out like that, did it?

0:49:19 > 0:49:21- No.- No. - LAUGHTER

0:49:23 > 0:49:25Six hills, 14 miles.

0:49:41 > 0:49:43I enjoyed myself.

0:49:46 > 0:49:48LAUGHTER

0:49:50 > 0:49:53The full distance was about 14 miles.

0:49:53 > 0:49:58Erm, with about 5,500 feet of climb.

0:49:58 > 0:50:00I did feel that somebody had taken

0:50:00 > 0:50:04my legs and neatly tied a bow behind my head with them.

0:50:04 > 0:50:07And so, I was feeling a bit peculiar.

0:50:09 > 0:50:12The target was £500, initially.

0:50:12 > 0:50:15Because we're from a kind of folk scene background,

0:50:15 > 0:50:18so no-one's got any money.

0:50:18 > 0:50:19It ticks all the boxes.

0:50:19 > 0:50:23It raises money, it keeps us off the streets.

0:50:23 > 0:50:24THEY LAUGH

0:50:26 > 0:50:31It did help a lot, having a superstar in the climbing team,

0:50:49 > 0:50:52Erm, so exceeded all our expectations.

0:50:52 > 0:50:55There is a theory that a lot of people were

0:50:55 > 0:51:00actually putting money in because they never thought they'd see us again.

0:51:00 > 0:51:03Everyone chatted all the way, people I'd never met before.

0:51:03 > 0:51:05Seven hours, not a minute silent.

0:51:07 > 0:51:09Absolutely outstanding.

0:51:11 > 0:51:13Now, you don't have to be a singing superstar

0:51:13 > 0:51:16to get involved with raising money for all these good causes.

0:51:16 > 0:51:20Just like all the people we've seen, you too can get involved

0:51:23 > 0:51:25and around the world.

0:52:10 > 0:52:14Greg James went to Jordan to see what life was like for the refugees.

0:52:23 > 0:52:26So this is my first time in a refugee camp,

0:52:26 > 0:52:28and the thing that struck me the most,

0:52:28 > 0:52:32and immediately when I got here, is how desolate the landscape is.

0:52:32 > 0:52:34This is a desert.

0:54:05 > 0:54:07Ordinary people going about their daily lives

0:54:07 > 0:54:09who have lost everything.

0:54:10 > 0:54:12Now, we can't turn back the clock.

0:54:12 > 0:54:15What's happened has happened and the journeys these families have been on

0:54:15 > 0:54:17up to this point, they're done.

0:54:17 > 0:54:21We are where we are and they are where they are.

0:54:21 > 0:54:24But what we can do is help them from this point onwards,

0:54:24 > 0:54:27and believe me, they need help.
