:00:19. > :00:24.Yes, good afternoon and welcome the great Scottish results show. No

:00:25. > :00:27.chance of this being poached by Chalifour! OK, a couple of weeks

:00:28. > :00:31.late with the intro but it just came to me! We have a generous topping of

:00:32. > :00:35.schools, reports, results, action and a sprinkling of expert analysis

:00:36. > :00:39.from a trio of quality guests. Let's meet them. They are the BBC's

:00:40. > :00:43.Richard Wilson, Scotland international captain Gemma Fay and

:00:44. > :00:46.the Motherwell captain Keith Lasley. Welcome one and all. More from the

:00:47. > :00:51.guys shortly but the games are afoot so let's find out what is happening

:00:52. > :00:56.and we will start at Ibrox where Rangers are at home to Partick

:00:57. > :01:00.Thistle this afternoon and the score is Rangers 2-0 Partick. As you can

:01:01. > :01:06.see, goals for Kranjcar and Andy Halliday. Yellow cards for Senderos

:01:07. > :01:10.of Rangers and for Chris Erskine of Partick Thistle. Let's bounce around

:01:11. > :01:14.the grounds. We start at Rugby Park were killed Marnoch are playing

:01:15. > :01:19.Aberdeen and our man is Jonathan. Good afternoon, it is not like the

:01:20. > :01:22.referee could not be at the centre of controversy but he is once again,

:01:23. > :01:25.you awarded a penalty to Aberdeen and video replays suggested it

:01:26. > :01:28.should perhaps have been a foul to commander but nevertheless, Rooney

:01:29. > :01:33.stepped up and have given Aberdeen the lead in this match at Rugby Park

:01:34. > :01:39.in glorious sunshine. It is currently 1-0 to Aberdeen. Next,

:01:40. > :01:41.Ross County and St Johnstone from Scott Davie.

:01:42. > :01:45.Jay McEveley was supposed to be on the Ross County bench this afternoon

:01:46. > :01:49.but Andrew Davies got injured in the Warnock -- warm up and he got into

:01:50. > :01:51.the starting line-up and with three minutes to the interval,

:01:52. > :01:58.inextricably pushed over Chris Kane inside the penalty area, Polanc

:01:59. > :02:02.Danny Swanson to score his six of the season and fifth of the season

:02:03. > :02:06.from the spot which is why St Johnstone league Ross County 1-0.

:02:07. > :02:10.Alistair Lambert is watching Hamilton against Inverness.

:02:11. > :02:13.Inverness have won here at each of the last six visits but they are

:02:14. > :02:17.trailing this afternoon, just at the beginning of the second half.

:02:18. > :02:22.Gillespie Crossing in the 19th minute, and Crawford got the

:02:23. > :02:26.slightest glance on it, saved by the feet of owing for Williams at the

:02:27. > :02:29.rebound was pounced on by Alexandre D'Acol, for his first goal for

:02:30. > :02:35.Hamilton which is the difference between the side at the moment.

:02:36. > :02:38.Let's go to the Championship encounter between Dumbarton and

:02:39. > :02:42.Queen of the South. Good afternoon from an insanely

:02:43. > :02:46.sallied -- Son Dumbarton. Both sets of defenders doing the job so far

:02:47. > :02:50.but another thing they have in common is a serious lack of

:02:51. > :02:54.creativity and really, just a handful of chances to speak of. No

:02:55. > :02:59.goals so far and a serious lack of thrills into the bargain. We are in

:03:00. > :03:02.the second half and it is goalless. Plenty of thrills in the studio,

:03:03. > :03:08.guide, watching the matches coming in and most of them, apart from

:03:09. > :03:13.Rangers, so Rangers are 2-0 up but Partick Thistle have not won at

:03:14. > :03:17.Ibrox since 1983. Perhaps not a big surprise scoreline. No, it was

:03:18. > :03:19.always going to be a big ask for Partick Thistle, I have seen them

:03:20. > :03:23.two or three times recently and they have been playing very well, back to

:03:24. > :03:27.middle the front, they are doing fine but not finishing the chances.

:03:28. > :03:30.I saw them against Motherwell last weekend, lots of the ball and they

:03:31. > :03:33.created two or three chances in the second half and did not take them

:03:34. > :03:36.and dropped points. Rangers have been doing something similar so it

:03:37. > :03:38.is a battle between two teams playing the same weight and I

:03:39. > :03:42.suspect Mark Warburton will be relieved that they are 2-0 up

:03:43. > :03:45.already. Mark Warburton will be relieved and he will be fairly happy

:03:46. > :03:52.with your car, St Johnstone, beating Ross County away. It's been an

:03:53. > :03:54.interesting game, if I was County fan or the manager I would be livid

:03:55. > :04:00.with a penalty they have given away. Kane has got through and is going

:04:01. > :04:04.nowhere and it is a foul. But it is good for us. We had a blip against

:04:05. > :04:06.Aberdeen in the League Cup. A draw last week against Hamilton so to get

:04:07. > :04:12.back to winning ways would be good for us. Hamilton going well against

:04:13. > :04:16.Inverness. Going for a win on the predictor, I did, I think I'm the

:04:17. > :04:21.only one. It certainly seems to be going your way in that regard. It is

:04:22. > :04:24.always a difficult place to go. Obviously, they have the artificial

:04:25. > :04:27.surface and they tend to do well at home. Especially getting in front,

:04:28. > :04:32.they will be looking to finish the job. At the moment of controversy

:04:33. > :04:36.has come as Jonathan said at Rugby Park, killed Marnoch against

:04:37. > :04:40.Aberdeen. I think you were unanimous in the studio that it was not a

:04:41. > :04:44.penalty. It should not have been a penalty. I don't think so, we all

:04:45. > :04:48.three thought the decision should have gone the other way. To us, it

:04:49. > :04:57.looked like a foul on the goalkeeper first. It is hard to tell from the

:04:58. > :04:59.angle but whether Jamie McDonald has gone to second airily grabbed the

:05:00. > :05:04.Aberdeen player, I'm not sure but that first impressions are it is a

:05:05. > :05:07.very harsh award. Onto the early match today because a few days after

:05:08. > :05:12.the epic Champions League match with megarich Manchester City, Celtic had

:05:13. > :05:15.a date at Dens Park this lunchtime gone from Pep Guardiola's megastars

:05:16. > :05:20.to Paul Hartley's dandy and now we can find out how it went. This was a

:05:21. > :05:24.routine victory for the champions, who did not really need to get out

:05:25. > :05:28.of third gear against an out of form Dundee. In fairness, a pretty good

:05:29. > :05:32.excuse for not getting out of third gear after the energy sapping

:05:33. > :05:34.Champions League draw with the multimillionaires of Manchester City

:05:35. > :05:40.in midweek. Scott Sinclair was denied by Scott Bain a couple of

:05:41. > :05:43.times in the first half and his late substitution ensured his goal per

:05:44. > :05:47.game run in the Premiership would come to an end. It was a frustrating

:05:48. > :05:50.game up to that point for Celtic but Captain Scott Brown stepped up to

:05:51. > :05:53.smash home the winner just after the break and turn their dominance into

:05:54. > :05:57.something a lot more tangible. Brown was the best player today. A first

:05:58. > :06:02.clean sheet in the league for Brendan Rodgers and another three

:06:03. > :06:05.points. Dundee didn't really threaten and still haven't won since

:06:06. > :06:09.the opening day of the campaign and will need to get going after the

:06:10. > :06:13.international break. It was only 1-0 but the scoreline flattered the

:06:14. > :06:17.hosts. Celtic were the winners again today. We will return to that much

:06:18. > :06:21.later to talk more about it but right now, back to Rugby Park

:06:22. > :06:24.weather has been a goal between Kilmarnock and Aberdeen. Aberdeen

:06:25. > :06:27.have won their last ten matches against Kilmarnock and they looked

:06:28. > :06:31.like making it 11 this afternoon at Rugby Park. Controversy over the

:06:32. > :06:35.first goal but nothing wrong with the second at all. Fantastic strike

:06:36. > :06:39.in fact from Andrew Considine after O'Connor, Considine with a left foot

:06:40. > :06:43.swinger, firing the ball into the top corner to give Aberdeen 2-0 lead

:06:44. > :06:47.at Rugby Park. It is looking grim for Kilmarnock. As promised, back to

:06:48. > :06:53.the action at Dens Park and after that match which Celtic won 1-0 this

:06:54. > :06:57.afternoon, we spoke to managers. We were in the game all the time. I

:06:58. > :07:00.felt the players were terrific today, we changed the shape and

:07:01. > :07:03.worked really hard all week and try to stop Celtic but we were brave

:07:04. > :07:06.today. We went really high against them, a lot of teams have been

:07:07. > :07:09.sitting off, dropping off, letting them have a lot of possession. They

:07:10. > :07:13.had a lot of possession but they never really got us open. These

:07:14. > :07:16.other types of games you need to see through and I thought naturally

:07:17. > :07:20.there was a bit of sharpness missing from the game today with so much,

:07:21. > :07:24.you know, over the last few weeks, and particularly the game in the

:07:25. > :07:28.week. It is a great game to win, that, as a professional, when you

:07:29. > :07:33.have good possession of the ball, we had to rest when we had the football

:07:34. > :07:37.today. We still created chances. But we only needed one goal and I

:07:38. > :07:41.thought after that, we defended very well. A great victory for us. The

:07:42. > :07:45.bottom line is you need points but we know we were up against a quality

:07:46. > :07:48.team to gain -- today. I'm pleased with the reaction from last week. If

:07:49. > :07:53.we keep on performing like that of the season, we will be OK but they

:07:54. > :07:55.have to keep working hard. Keith, bizarre as it may sound, a 1-0

:07:56. > :08:00.defeat at home to Celtic is not a bizarre as it may sound, a 1-0

:08:01. > :08:02.bad result. Not the way Celtic have been going of late but I watched the

:08:03. > :08:04.game and thought Celtic were comfortable throughout, to be

:08:05. > :08:07.game and thought Celtic were honest. I thought they deserved the

:08:08. > :08:11.victory. It looked as though they had a bit of edge taken off them

:08:12. > :08:13.from the efforts during the week against Manchester City. Brendan

:08:14. > :08:18.Rodgers will be delighted to get another win under his belt and move

:08:19. > :08:22.into the break where they have got a chance to recharge. Paul Hartley

:08:23. > :08:25.said they pressed and played an aggressive, pressing game. Is that

:08:26. > :08:30.the only way to play against the Celtic team? It was a tough one for

:08:31. > :08:34.Dundee because even though Celtic played in midweek, they did not

:08:35. > :08:36.change their team, I found that strange, I thought Brendan Rodgers

:08:37. > :08:41.would have started Leigh Griffiths but he didn't. As Keith said, Celtic

:08:42. > :08:44.were comfortable. I worry a bit for Dundee because yes, you can be

:08:45. > :08:48.compact defensively but if we look at Dundee's two top scorers, they

:08:49. > :08:51.are not at the club any more and I did think they have won since

:08:52. > :08:54.Hemmings and Stuart left. It might be all very well being good

:08:55. > :08:57.defensively but attacking wise, they need to start scoring goals. Dundee

:08:58. > :09:11.only won one match on the opening day of the

:09:12. > :09:14.season, 3-1 at Ross County and they have got won at home and as Genesis,

:09:15. > :09:16.where are the goals coming from? That is the big problem for Dundee,

:09:17. > :09:19.they have good players, solid at the back with a good midfield, but they

:09:20. > :09:22.don't have the cutting edge at the moment. I think Paul approached it

:09:23. > :09:24.in the right way today because the only other way to play against

:09:25. > :09:27.Celtic is to pull everyone back, leave one up front and back to the

:09:28. > :09:29.defence budget were not giving yourself a chance of getting

:09:30. > :09:32.anything in those circumstances. I think Paul Hartley needs a win,

:09:33. > :09:34.needs Dundee to get over the line with a victory and maybe turn the

:09:35. > :09:39.momentum round a wee bit because at the moment they are stagnating a

:09:40. > :09:41.bit. How to play against Celtic is the key question for you Keith

:09:42. > :09:44.because that is your next match at Celtic Park. Not made a good job of

:09:45. > :09:47.it recently, especially at Celtic Park. I think Dundee went with three

:09:48. > :09:50.at the back today and teams are trying to come up with different

:09:51. > :09:53.ways of stopping them. We have got a couple of weeks now to come up with

:09:54. > :09:58.a plan of action. We will look to carry that out when we get to

:09:59. > :10:00.Parkhead. OK, we are going to have another bounce around the grounds to

:10:01. > :10:04.find out what is happening in matches that are ongoing, starting

:10:05. > :10:08.at Ibrox, where Rangers are at home to Partick Thistle. Let's look at

:10:09. > :10:13.the developments and as we can see, Rangers are still leading Partick

:10:14. > :10:23.2-0. The goals for the home side coming from Kranjcar and Andy

:10:24. > :10:25.Halliday, Kranjcar in the 33rd minute and Halliday seven minutes

:10:26. > :10:27.later. A couple of yellow cards in that one, one for Senderos of

:10:28. > :10:29.Rangers and one or Chris Erskine of that one, one for Senderos of

:10:30. > :10:31.Partick Thistle. Gemma, you were worried for Dundee but are you

:10:32. > :10:33.worried for Partick Thistle? Tough place for them to go, as you have

:10:34. > :10:36.said, they have not won there in 34 place for them to go, as you have

:10:37. > :10:40.years but they are playing good football and creating chances but

:10:41. > :10:44.they need to take them. Rangers a bit short on goals as well, Richard,

:10:45. > :10:48.and as you can see, a couple of midfielders on target again. It was

:10:49. > :10:51.interesting, when they went to Pittodrie last week, it was

:10:52. > :10:55.essentially last season's team and Clint Hill at centre-back and Joe

:10:56. > :10:58.Garner upfront so just two additions. I don't think the

:10:59. > :11:00.recruitment strategy has worked particularly well for Rangers and it

:11:01. > :11:05.has halted their progress this season of it. They needed to win to

:11:06. > :11:11.date just to get a bit of confidence back into the team. They have not

:11:12. > :11:14.won get! Know but they have got big games coming up, away to Hearts and

:11:15. > :11:17.at the beginning of the defender, Hearts and Aberdeen come to Ibrox

:11:18. > :11:20.and another Old Firm game coming up. I think Mark Warburton just had to

:11:21. > :11:23.find a way to win today. They are on track for that at the moment and I

:11:24. > :11:32.don't think he will be too bothered who is scoring as long as somebody

:11:33. > :11:33.is. On track for a win after this afternoon, away to Kilmarnock,

:11:34. > :11:35.Aberdeen leading 2-0. More details from Jonathan. The controversy

:11:36. > :11:39.before the match started centred on the pitch at Rugby Park. Kilmarnock

:11:40. > :11:44.had decided not to water it, a ploy undoubtedly to try to slow the game,

:11:45. > :11:47.Lee Clark told me before the match started that there was a water

:11:48. > :11:51.shortage in command but I'm pretty sure he did not believe what he was

:11:52. > :11:54.saying. But Aberdeen raised out of the blocks, Niall McGinn with a

:11:55. > :11:56.couple of efforts stinging the palms of Jamie McDonald but the real

:11:57. > :12:00.controversy would come in the shape of a penalty and around a decision

:12:01. > :12:05.from the referee, Willie column. The ball into the box looks like James

:12:06. > :12:08.Madison perhaps fouled Jamie McDonald comedy, Nicky Butt, who

:12:09. > :12:11.spilled the ball and it looks like James Madison kicked the goalkeeper.

:12:12. > :12:16.Nevertheless, the referee decided to award a penalty to Adam -- Aberdeen

:12:17. > :12:21.and Adam Rooney stepped up and as is often the case, he put the ball away

:12:22. > :12:23.and as is often the case in the Scottish permission matches, the

:12:24. > :12:28.first goal is vital. The referee went off at half-time with the rest

:12:29. > :12:31.of the players to cries of, "You don't know what you're doing", from

:12:32. > :12:36.the home fans. In the second half, Aberdeen kept up the dominance,

:12:37. > :12:40.Considine firing into the top corner five minutes after the restart to

:12:41. > :12:44.make it 2-0. It looks like at the moment, Aberdeen are on course to go

:12:45. > :12:49.back into second place in the Premiership. I don't really know

:12:50. > :12:52.what I'm doing on this show either! Let's pilau way through it and go to

:12:53. > :12:57.Ross County get St Johnstone and get an update from Scott. Jonathan

:12:58. > :13:01.Sutherland and his guests tomorrow in the programme won't see too much

:13:02. > :13:05.of the first type when they come to edit this together. It was a pretty

:13:06. > :13:09.disappointing first 45 between Ross County and St Johnstone. Plenty of

:13:10. > :13:13.drive, plenty of determination from the players, plenty of driving

:13:14. > :13:17.challenges and tackles but very little in the way of composure in

:13:18. > :13:20.and around the penalty area. St Johnstone certainly the more

:13:21. > :13:24.dangerous side. When they got into the final third, bodies were thrown

:13:25. > :13:31.in the way, blocking a few efforts from the likes of Chris Kane and

:13:32. > :13:35.Danny Swanson. But the breakthrough coming courtesy of Jay McEveley, a

:13:36. > :13:39.surprise to him to be starting today because he was supposed to be on the

:13:40. > :13:43.bench. Andrew Davies adding to the long injury list that Ross County

:13:44. > :13:47.manager Jim McIntyre is having to deal with at the moment. James

:13:48. > :13:50.McEveley, and experienced players only will have to expect the manager

:13:51. > :13:54.what he pushed over Chris Kane very near the byline when he was going

:13:55. > :14:00.nowhere. Swanson stepped up and swept in a penalty. Is this penalty

:14:01. > :14:03.conversion of the season so far and is eighth goal in total for St

:14:04. > :14:07.Johnstone side who still better bet to see this came out in the second

:14:08. > :14:12.half, which has at least been a bit more even and exciting in the

:14:13. > :14:16.penalty areas. At the moment, it is Ross County 0- one St Johnstone. I

:14:17. > :14:19.wonder if Alistair Lambert is enjoying a fair being served out at

:14:20. > :14:24.out at Hamilton at home to Inverness this afternoon? Decent fair, it has

:14:25. > :14:28.to be said. Hamilton are three games without a win and Caley Thistle four

:14:29. > :14:33.unbeaten so somewhat surprising perhaps that it is the home side who

:14:34. > :14:39.lead this match 1-0. The goals scored, his first-ever league goal

:14:40. > :14:42.for Hamilton, by D'Acol, after 90 minutes, pouncing on the rebound

:14:43. > :14:46.after Crawford had got a nick on a header midway through the first.

:14:47. > :14:52.Hamilton pretty much good value for the lead, had another chance, really

:14:53. > :14:55.good move, what alt and are essentially all about, a five-man

:14:56. > :14:59.move which ended with Crawford chipping the ball and a good save by

:15:00. > :15:04.Owen from Williams. Caley Thistle started brightly and had a Brad

:15:05. > :15:08.McKay header off the line by Louis Longridge early on and another

:15:09. > :15:12.couple of decent efforts, Gary Warren with both of them, one an

:15:13. > :15:16.overhead kick which was also cleared away. Inverness Caley Thistle by no

:15:17. > :15:17.means out of this match but not looking as impressive as they have

:15:18. > :15:20.means out of this match but not been of late. Accies, as I say, good

:15:21. > :15:30.value for their lead. Championship leaders Queen of the

:15:31. > :15:39.South away to Dumbarton this afternoon, being watched for as by

:15:40. > :15:47.Connie McLaughlin. Yes, and I think this scoreline is just about right,

:15:48. > :15:51.with not a host of chances. Queen of the South know that if they win

:15:52. > :15:58.today, they can go four points clear at the top of the table, head of

:15:59. > :16:03.Hibernian. Midway through the first half, there was an effort from just

:16:04. > :16:09.outside the penalty area, but the shot was off target. Then, just

:16:10. > :16:12.after the half-hour mark, Robert Thompson, head, should have done

:16:13. > :16:17.better, went past the post on the left-hand side. Still goalless in

:16:18. > :16:20.this one, not a lot to write home about so far in the second half,

:16:21. > :16:26.either. We are hoping for more in the sunshine at Dumbarton. I wonder

:16:27. > :16:30.what weather is like at Somerset park, Ayr United at home to

:16:31. > :16:34.Dunfermline in another Championship encounter. Kenny Crawford is soaking

:16:35. > :16:40.up the sunshine. I sure am. My first time at Somerset park, and I am

:16:41. > :16:43.pleased to be here. Not much separating the sides in the

:16:44. > :16:50.Championship, and not much separating them in the score here,,

:16:51. > :16:54.as you can tell. Brian Gilmore, Alan forest and Jamie Adams all had good

:16:55. > :17:01.chances for the hosts, but none of them hit the back of the net. Plenty

:17:02. > :17:05.of people inside the ground, with the reduced ?5 entry price. I am

:17:06. > :17:12.glad to be here, as are a couple of thousand fans. I think he got in for

:17:13. > :17:18.free as well! Arena de Sao Paulo going well, the only team unbeaten

:17:19. > :17:25.in the division - 0-0 a way to Dumbarton, but Dumbarton have proven

:17:26. > :17:31.tough opposition in that league? Yes, I think so. There is no gimmes

:17:32. > :17:34.in that league, that's for sure. Dundee United fans will be watching

:17:35. > :17:38.that game closely as well. They play tomorrow. It's two team is looking

:17:39. > :17:43.for points for very different reasons. The Queen of the South, I'm

:17:44. > :17:49.sure they will be delighted with their start regardless of the

:17:50. > :17:54.outcome. It's sixth versus seventh at Somerset park. Ayr United have

:17:55. > :18:02.won two out of their last three? Absolutely. It is turning into an

:18:03. > :18:06.interesting league, as we said. I ink if I am the manager of Dundee

:18:07. > :18:10.United, I need to start picking up some points, because if him speak

:18:11. > :18:14.them tomorrow, that will be them eight points behind Hibs in the

:18:15. > :18:19.league with Queen of the South in there as well. It is really tough to

:18:20. > :18:23.pick up the moment. There's still a couple of Championship matches to be

:18:24. > :18:26.played this weekend. As Jim mentioned, Hibs play Dundee United

:18:27. > :18:34.tomorrow. Tonight, it's the Buddies against the bounce. Our reporter

:18:35. > :18:37.Charlie Mann is there already. Good evening, good afternoon - St Mirren,

:18:38. > :18:42.still without a manager, but do you have any news of any developments on

:18:43. > :18:47.that front for us today? Well, it's going to be an game here this

:18:48. > :18:52.evening. I have been speaking to senior people here at this stadium.

:18:53. > :18:55.The word is that St Mirren will be in a position, or they hope, at

:18:56. > :19:00.least, to appoint a manager for the club by the middle of the week.

:19:01. > :19:04.Obviously, that would be ahead of the game against Hibernian in the

:19:05. > :19:09.Challenge Cup. So hopefully the club will get that sorted. Certainly it

:19:10. > :19:13.will not be Billy Davies or John Hughes. And I think there is an

:19:14. > :19:17.element of disappointment about that, because both of them, big

:19:18. > :19:21.managers, big personality, that's the kind of manager that they would

:19:22. > :19:25.like here at the club to get them away from the bottom. At the moment

:19:26. > :19:29.they have three points - that's not good enough for St Mirren, not good

:19:30. > :19:35.enough for the fans, and they really need to sort it. 50 people applied

:19:36. > :19:39.for the job, and the latest I've heard is that Jean Tigana, the

:19:40. > :19:43.French international, former Fulham manager, was seen in the area. That

:19:44. > :19:48.happens a lot, when you haven't got a manager, lots of speculation! Gus

:19:49. > :19:53.McPherson, the manager of Queen's Park, is high on the list as well. .

:19:54. > :19:57.Ross, obviously, Ferguson, Kenny Shiels, all names which have been

:19:58. > :20:01.mentioned. Lots of names mentioned, no decisions made yet. But certainly

:20:02. > :20:06.they were hope to get it sorted out by the middle of next week. Jonty

:20:07. > :20:11.going to in McIlroy, what do you make of that?! I did not see him

:20:12. > :20:17.appearing in any of the betting lists? I would be very, very

:20:18. > :20:23.surprised if it was somebody like Jean Tigana. Much more likely I

:20:24. > :20:30.think would be. Ross witch McPherson. I think they should take

:20:31. > :20:32.their time to make sure it is right because where they are in the

:20:33. > :20:37.league, I don't think they can afford to get it wrong. You've been

:20:38. > :20:41.speaking to senior people at St Mirren today, but have you been

:20:42. > :20:48.speaking to the supporters as well only yes, I think the fans are a bit

:20:49. > :20:52.frustrated by it all. They know that the team that they have here should

:20:53. > :20:56.be ensuring that they are in a much higher position than they are. They

:20:57. > :20:59.really should be playing and challenging in the play-off places

:21:00. > :21:04.at the top of the table. I don't think if there will be any people --

:21:05. > :21:08.many people here this evening. That's the problem, when you're in a

:21:09. > :21:13.situation like this one, and Falkirk are a good side to watch, there

:21:14. > :21:17.could be goals in the game, it's a Saturday night, a lovely night here

:21:18. > :21:21.in McIlroy, but I think there's a lot of frustration and I'm not sure

:21:22. > :21:24.that the fans are happy at all at the moment and I'm not sure if they

:21:25. > :21:27.will turn out in their numbers at all. Aberdeen supporters will be

:21:28. > :21:30.happy with their side this afternoon happy with their side this afternoon

:21:31. > :21:36.- they have scored another goal. Now, 3-0 up a way to Kilmarnock.

:21:37. > :21:39.Details from Jonathan. All three points will be heading up to the

:21:40. > :21:45.granite city this afternoon. Again, it was from a corner. This time, Ash

:21:46. > :21:51.Taylor bulleting his header into the net. The Kilmarnock goalkeeper, sat

:21:52. > :21:55.in his goalmouth, he knows it will not be Kilmarnock's day today. It

:21:56. > :21:59.all started with that controversial penalty in the first half, and since

:22:00. > :22:03.then, the momentum has all been with Aberdeen. There will be second in

:22:04. > :22:08.the table by the close of play this afternoon. Now, Friday night was

:22:09. > :22:12.football night at Fir Park. Keith was playing for Motherwell against

:22:13. > :22:17.Hearts. Both teams had the opportunity to go second in the

:22:18. > :22:22.Premiership. Alas, for Keith and company, Hearts were the winners?

:22:23. > :22:30.Yes, unfortunately! And we have the evidence here. You played a part in

:22:31. > :22:35.the first goal? Yes, I think somebody should have cleared their

:22:36. > :22:38.lines, unfortunately. It was an unfortunate deflection. We felt as

:22:39. > :22:41.if we had acquitted ourselves well for long periods. We were unlucky to

:22:42. > :22:48.if we had acquitted ourselves well go in 1-0 down at the break. This

:22:49. > :22:53.one, you know, it's pick it out time. On his left foot, his weaker

:22:54. > :22:58.side, and he's put it in the top corner! There's not much you can do.

:22:59. > :23:04.As a goalkeeper, Craig Samson had no chance with that one? Absolutely no

:23:05. > :23:12.chance whatsoever. Or indeed this one? That was an absolute cracker as

:23:13. > :23:18.well. No chance for the goalkeeper, Keith? No. Again, shots coming from

:23:19. > :23:24.long range? Yes, it's disappointing. The biggest frustration for us was,

:23:25. > :23:27.in the game overall, we felt as if 3-1 was a bit harsh on us. We felt

:23:28. > :23:33.we performed fairly well throughout. If anything, there are still some

:23:34. > :23:39.positives for us. One of them being James McFadden, he can still do it?!

:23:40. > :23:44.He's still got the quality, no doubt, and I think he will have a

:23:45. > :23:49.part to play for us on the park. We can hear what both managers had to

:23:50. > :23:54.say after the match last night. I think it was a ridiculously bad

:23:55. > :23:57.goal. The first goal, the half-time whistle is about to go, we've got to

:23:58. > :24:00.clear our lines. That's disappointing. For 20 minutes in the

:24:01. > :24:03.clear our lines. That's second half, we were bombarding

:24:04. > :24:07.them. They defended very, very well, we couldn't break them down. But I

:24:08. > :24:11.think we put enough into the game to deserve something out of it. I think

:24:12. > :24:15.the scoreline does not reflect the balance of the game. Those two teams

:24:16. > :24:19.tonight, it shows the level of the league. They have had a great start

:24:20. > :24:24.to the season, with lots of experience. Credit to them. We have

:24:25. > :24:29.two work hard. The first goal was a stroke of luck, really. We have. To

:24:30. > :24:33.thank for keeping us in the game at 0-0 with a fantastic save. After

:24:34. > :24:39.that I felt we felt a bit more relaxed and played better. Gemma,

:24:40. > :24:42.Robbie Neilson admitting that is an excellent three points for Hearts,

:24:43. > :24:46.and may be on the balance, Motherwell should have got something

:24:47. > :24:51.from it? Yes, he mentioned the saved by. Hamilton, and that was an

:24:52. > :24:56.outstanding save. And it was a really important point in the match,

:24:57. > :25:00.because Motherwell had chances. If you look at the chances, I don't

:25:01. > :25:03.think you could understand how it finished 3-1. But that's what

:25:04. > :25:08.happens when you're fighting for second in the Premiership. I'm

:25:09. > :25:13.sorry, Keith! Is a goalkeeper, you would have been shouting at poor

:25:14. > :25:16.Keith? The first one... But what happens after that, the double

:25:17. > :25:21.deflection, there's nothing you can do about that. If you score two

:25:22. > :25:26.goals of that quality, even with McFadden's freak it, there not a lot

:25:27. > :25:30.you can do with it. A really, really good three points for Hearts. The

:25:31. > :25:35.goals from Hearts so far this season have not been coming in abundance

:25:36. > :25:39.from their strikers, either? No, but that is one of the strong things

:25:40. > :25:43.about Hearts, they're capable of doing that to anybody. They can step

:25:44. > :25:49.it up at any moment to find a way to win the match. It could be a

:25:50. > :25:54.forward, a wide player, they've got that ability around the team, and

:25:55. > :25:59.that's why they've got the possibility to finish in the top

:26:00. > :26:02.three. They're a strong side physically and mentally. Robbie made

:26:03. > :26:07.a big decision with. Hamilton in the summer. They were looking at

:26:08. > :26:14.experienced goalkeepers. So I think he's getting the reward for sticking

:26:15. > :26:18.to his principles. And there's a lot of young Scottish players in the

:26:19. > :26:21.line-up as well? Absolutely and when they got relegated, they came in and

:26:22. > :26:25.they have a philosophy that they were going to develop the team - and

:26:26. > :26:29.they've stuck with that. They came out last year having had a fantastic

:26:30. > :26:35.season and they're acting it up. It's not always about bringing in

:26:36. > :26:40.players from outside. There were some excellent long-range shots in

:26:41. > :26:44.the match at Fir Park last night. You had one yourself at one point, I

:26:45. > :26:49.don't know if you remember this! Unfortunately you did not trouble.

:26:50. > :26:58.Hamilton in the Hearts goal with it. I think I troubled somebody in the

:26:59. > :27:04.stand! You did! What about that technique?! You have to admire the

:27:05. > :27:10.ingenuity! There's two spectators they're not lifting a finger to help

:27:11. > :27:14.him! Anyway, while you are musing over one of the highlights from Fir

:27:15. > :27:16.Park last night, we can go back to Rugby Park, where there's been

:27:17. > :27:23.another goal between Kilmarnock and Aberdeen. Jonathan can tell us about

:27:24. > :27:26.it. Aberdeen are rampant now in the Ayrshire sunshine. It was Jonny

:27:27. > :27:28.Hayes who cropped up in the final third causing trouble for the

:27:29. > :27:34.Kilmarnock defence, put it through to Adam Rooney, who have lots of

:27:35. > :27:40.time and space. His effort look like it might have been saved but the

:27:41. > :27:45.ball trickled over the line. The Aberdeen fans, who have travelled in

:27:46. > :27:50.their numbers from the Granite City, will be travelling home happy this

:27:51. > :27:53.evening. Now we can dwell on one of the matches in the English Premier

:27:54. > :27:57.League this afternoon. Swansea against Liverpool. What our producer

:27:58. > :28:02.likes to call the Brendan Rodgers derby. Not mine! Let's find out what

:28:03. > :28:09.happened in that one, from Simon Brotherton. Liverpool turn this game

:28:10. > :28:13.around in the second half but needed a late penalty from James Milner to

:28:14. > :28:17.secure all three points after Angel Rangel was penalised for a push on

:28:18. > :28:21.Roberto Firmino. It was for me know who headed Liverpool level nine

:28:22. > :28:24.minutes after half-time in a much improved second-half showing. Until

:28:25. > :28:30.then, Swansea had had the better of it. They went ahead from the first

:28:31. > :28:33.corner of the game, Leroy Fer have the final touch. The Spanish striker

:28:34. > :28:36.making his first start in the Premier League have two

:28:37. > :28:40.opportunities in the first half but headed over and wide. They created

:28:41. > :28:43.nothing in the second period until deep into added time, when they

:28:44. > :28:47.spurned the chance that the far post. The pressure mounts on

:28:48. > :28:52.Francesco Guidolin but it is five wins from seven games for Liverpool.

:28:53. > :28:55.Quite impressive that, for Jurgen Klopp, whether in your mind at the

:28:56. > :29:01.beginning, are they starting to look like title contenders? Yes, I think

:29:02. > :29:06.they are. Having no European football as well, that will give

:29:07. > :29:11.them an edge. And they seem to have that energy and togetherness about

:29:12. > :29:16.the team, which comes from the manager. I think they will go close.

:29:17. > :29:21.Swansea now six games without a win? It's looking bad for Guidolin. It

:29:22. > :29:25.can't help with all the talk about Ryan Giggs coming etc. But they

:29:26. > :29:29.played well in the first half, I saw this game. But Liverpool have got

:29:30. > :29:33.that something extra, whereas last season they might have capitulated

:29:34. > :29:37.or lost, they're finding a way to come back. 84th minute penalty,

:29:38. > :29:43.getting the win. You fancy them for the title? No. I think they are a

:29:44. > :29:48.bit short of the quality which Manchester City have got. Which

:29:49. > :29:51.department, all departments? All departments. But also I think

:29:52. > :29:57.Chelsea and Arsenal have got more strength in depth than Liverpool do.

:29:58. > :30:02.But I think they have got a good chance to finish top four, which

:30:03. > :30:05.they will see as progress. But Jurgen Klopp is an interesting

:30:06. > :30:09.manager, he has got an interesting way of doing things, and it seems to

:30:10. > :30:10.be working, because he's getting more than the sum of the parts from

:30:11. > :30:18.bad Liverpool team. Time to look at the matches in the

:30:19. > :30:23.Scottish Premier League, starting with Rangers against Partick

:30:24. > :30:24.Thistle. The latest score is Rangers 2-0 Partick Thistle, no change from

:30:25. > :30:29.Thistle. The latest score is Rangers the last time we looked, Kranjcar

:30:30. > :30:32.and Andy Halliday for Rangers, and Senderos for Rangers with the yellow

:30:33. > :30:37.card and Chris Erskine and another one for Partick Thistle now, Gordon

:30:38. > :30:40.with a yellow card as well. Off we go to Rugby Park, last time we

:30:41. > :30:47.with a yellow card as well. Off we heard, Aberdeen were cruising to

:30:48. > :30:51.victory, 4-0 up and still 4-0 now? Indeed, David, and as we approach 75

:30:52. > :30:54.minutes, this match is only about damage limitation for Kilmarnock

:30:55. > :30:59.now. There is no way back for them in this match at all. They decided

:31:00. > :31:03.against watering the pitch in an attempt to try to slow Aberdeen down

:31:04. > :31:07.but in the end, that didn't happen. The first goal in these matches is

:31:08. > :31:11.usually so important and a huge dose of controversy over this goal, we

:31:12. > :31:12.will pore over it on Sportscene tomorrow night undoubtedly, did

:31:13. > :31:19.referee Willie column get it right? tomorrow night undoubtedly, did

:31:20. > :31:21.Video replays suggest he didn't and it perhaps should have been about

:31:22. > :31:24.the Kilmarnock when James Madison went in Jamie McDonald but a penalty

:31:25. > :31:28.was awarded to Aberdeen which Adam Rooney stucco wait to make it 1-0.

:31:29. > :31:31.Since then, Aberdeen have been tampered with Andrew Considine

:31:32. > :31:36.making it 2-0 and after that, just a case of how many Aberdeen would get,

:31:37. > :31:40.Taylor made it three, and Rooney has made it four now and also hit the

:31:41. > :31:44.bar in this match. Aberdeen playing some nice stuff, full of confidence,

:31:45. > :31:48.have turned their season around after a slow start, a win last

:31:49. > :31:50.weekend against Rangers giving them real momentum which they have

:31:51. > :31:54.carried through to today and Kilmarnock looked like a sorry sight

:31:55. > :31:58.at the moment. It is Kilmarnock 0- four Aberdeen. Another goal between

:31:59. > :32:03.Ross County and St Johnstone so without any further ado, let's go to

:32:04. > :32:07.Scott. St Johnstone have scored to add to the penalty scored by Danny

:32:08. > :32:10.Swanson in the first half, on 72 minutes, Kane with a lovely

:32:11. > :32:15.counterattacking move, sweeping from one into the other and it was Kane

:32:16. > :32:19.who got away from the rather flat-footed Ross County backline to

:32:20. > :32:24.knock the ball into the net. St Johnstone have been second best at

:32:25. > :32:28.times in this half but they have always looked dangerous on the

:32:29. > :32:32.counterattack. Definitely been a lack of cutting edge about Ross

:32:33. > :32:35.County's play. They started with 18-year-old Greg Morrison upfront

:32:36. > :32:41.today, his first start for the club because of the injury problems that

:32:42. > :32:44.Ross County have at the moment, their most prolific goal-scorer out

:32:45. > :32:48.and Craig Curran as well absence and you can tell there is a lack of

:32:49. > :32:51.cutting edge about a lot of their play. It was James McEveley who gave

:32:52. > :32:55.away the penalty with a needless push on Kane after 42 minutes,

:32:56. > :32:58.Swanson sweeping home is eighth of the season. They looked a bit more

:32:59. > :33:02.enthusiastic and threatening in the second period, Ross County. But you

:33:03. > :33:08.would imagine it is too much for them to redeem with just about 17

:33:09. > :33:11.minutes to go and in Dingle, it remains Ross County 0- two St

:33:12. > :33:15.Johnstone. Not going too well for one of the Highland clubs, but let's

:33:16. > :33:19.find out what is happening to the other one, Inverness away to

:33:20. > :33:21.Hamilton this afternoon. Not brilliant for them either, they have

:33:22. > :33:26.not threatened the Hamilton Accies goal as they need to do, trailing as

:33:27. > :33:32.they do 1-0. Very little to report at either end in the second half. It

:33:33. > :33:38.has been pretty much a midfield battle. Nothing in terms of

:33:39. > :33:41.goalmouth incident since the 46th minute, the first minute of the

:33:42. > :33:43.second half, Gary Warren with a header touched over by Rennie

:33:44. > :33:47.Matthews, who is currently on the ground receiving treatment after a

:33:48. > :33:51.collision inside his own penalty area. But Accies will be pleased.

:33:52. > :33:54.They have only kept a clean sheet once this season and they are on

:33:55. > :33:57.course for another and if they can do that, they will get a precious

:33:58. > :34:02.three points which would take them above Caley Thistle. Now enter the

:34:03. > :34:07.Championship, Dumbarton at home to Queen of the South, the leaders this

:34:08. > :34:10.afternoon, time to hear from Connie again. More urgency from Queen of

:34:11. > :34:15.the South and a great effort from Steven Rigg, how he missed, I have

:34:16. > :34:17.no idea but decent pressure from the goalkeeper. They know a win this

:34:18. > :34:21.afternoon would put daylight between them and Hibs at the top of the

:34:22. > :34:24.table. They are trying to put the pressure on, seeming to be pushing

:34:25. > :34:33.up more but with that, they are becoming more vulnerable at the

:34:34. > :34:36.back. We saw the result of that, decent chance for Dumbarton, Robert

:34:37. > :34:39.Thomson, able from the left, strong header but a great save from Robin

:34:40. > :34:44.Singh in goal. Goalless at the moment, between Dumbarton and Queen

:34:45. > :34:48.of the South. The only goal in the Championship so far today is Morton,

:34:49. > :34:53.1-0 up on Raith Rovers, one of the's old playing pals, Ross Forbes with

:34:54. > :34:56.the goal. Now to Somerset part, the other match this afternoon in the

:34:57. > :35:01.Championship between Ayr and Dunfermline and it is being watched

:35:02. > :35:04.by Kenny. Lots of goals in East Ayrshire between Kilmarnock and

:35:05. > :35:07.Aberdeen but none in South Ayrshire at Somerset bar, where it is

:35:08. > :35:12.goalless between Ayr and Dunfermline. Play stopped for a

:35:13. > :35:15.moment for a head knock being treated. Earlier, that was in

:35:16. > :35:21.acrobatics is a kick well saved by Greg Fleming in the Ayr goal.

:35:22. > :35:26.Dunfermline have got the better of Ayr in the last four meetings, Ayr

:35:27. > :35:29.has struggled against other men of late and it will be interesting to

:35:30. > :35:32.see if they can get the better of them this time. One thing that was

:35:33. > :35:36.fascinating was trying to work out what one Ayr player's nickname was,

:35:37. > :35:40.lots of fans were calling someone the Disruptor and I was trying to

:35:41. > :35:44.work it out and it is Jamie Adams, and when I asked why, they said he

:35:45. > :35:48.goes about the whole pitch breaking things bridge is why they call him

:35:49. > :35:53.the Disruptor. For one disruptor to another, back to you, David. I don't

:35:54. > :35:58.know what to make of that! No goals there but plenty as we were

:35:59. > :36:01.mentioning earlier, in the match between Kilmarnock and Aberdeen,

:36:02. > :36:05.Aberdeen cruising to victory. It seems a wee bit of what Lee Clark

:36:06. > :36:11.was doing, a bit desperate, no water on the pitch to slow things down. It

:36:12. > :36:15.has not worked anyway! They have not gained anything. It looks as though

:36:16. > :36:19.Aberdeen are comfortable, from earlier in the match, Kilmarnock

:36:20. > :36:22.started pretty well but that penalty decision has obviously given

:36:23. > :36:26.Aberdeen the momentum in the game. In the end, they have taken the bull

:36:27. > :36:34.by the horns and gone on to cement their place. They will go back into

:36:35. > :36:38.second place with another good start to the season. Looks like another

:36:39. > :36:43.heavy defeat for Kilmarnock, two on the spin against two of the heavy

:36:44. > :36:46.hitters in the Premiership. Yes, but if Kilmarnock lose this game, and it

:36:47. > :36:52.looks like they will, that will be 27 games and they have won four at

:36:53. > :36:55.home. Four wins out of 27 at home is not just against the big hitters,

:36:56. > :36:59.that is against the majority of the league and it is not good enough.

:37:00. > :37:03.He's brought in a lot of players. It looks like the board have given him

:37:04. > :37:06.time to gel it together. Yes, he's getting a couple of draws here and

:37:07. > :37:08.there but performances like this, not just on the pitch, he's brought

:37:09. > :37:11.it in and shortened it, they have not just on the pitch, he's brought

:37:12. > :37:15.tried every thing but it could have been six. Rooney had two fantastic

:37:16. > :37:21.opportunities to get his hat-trick. They have to do something. It is not

:37:22. > :37:25.going too well for Kilmarnock but Aberdeen seem to be getting into

:37:26. > :37:29.their stride. They are, they had a sticky start to the season which was

:37:30. > :37:32.almost in stark contrast to the way they started the last campaign, when

:37:33. > :37:35.they were very strong. It might have been the European football that

:37:36. > :37:39.caused that. But they had a last-minute winner gets St Johnstone

:37:40. > :37:42.in the cup and against Rangers last week, another last-minute win. And

:37:43. > :37:56.they have taken care of this game. It looks as though

:37:57. > :38:00.they are beginning to fire on all cylinders but going back to

:38:01. > :38:02.Kilmarnock for a minute, we saw a shot, the fourth goal, the fans

:38:03. > :38:05.leaving their seats relatively early in the game. We know there were

:38:06. > :38:07.planning a protest against Michael Johnson in this game. This club is

:38:08. > :38:10.not only having difficulties on the pitch, there's an awful lot going on

:38:11. > :38:13.off it as well and that is a situation everyone has to manage

:38:14. > :38:16.before it affects what is already a difficult position for Lee Clark on

:38:17. > :38:18.the field. There's a lot going on at Kilmarnock at the moment and you

:38:19. > :38:21.would suggest that because of that, they are going to find is a very

:38:22. > :38:24.difficult campaign all the way through. Gemma said he brought in a

:38:25. > :38:26.number of players, 17 signings in the summer and in the transfer

:38:27. > :38:28.window, Keith. I was beginning to think they had gelled fairly well,

:38:29. > :38:32.as Gemma mentioned, a run of draws and a good win. But now it looks as

:38:33. > :38:33.though God to use the phrase, the wheels are coming off a bit. A bit,

:38:34. > :38:36.it is always difficult when you wheels are coming off a bit. A bit,

:38:37. > :38:41.bring that many players in to find a formula, to get a team spirit

:38:42. > :38:46.together. You know, this result today will not do them any favours,

:38:47. > :38:50.going into the international break. It gives them a couple of weeks to

:38:51. > :38:55.regroup and get back together and try to get a bit of momentum going

:38:56. > :38:59.into the next part of the season. Let's go back to Rugby Park and hear

:39:00. > :39:03.more from Jonathan Sutherland about Kilmarnock against Aberdeen.

:39:04. > :39:07.Jonathan, anything to tell us? I would agree with everything that has

:39:08. > :39:11.been said in the studio, although Kilmarnock had a chance in terms of

:39:12. > :39:15.Miles Addison with a header over the bar. That would have been a crumb of

:39:16. > :39:23.comfort for the home support. In terms of the protests about Michael

:39:24. > :39:26.Johnston, they were meant to be held on the 18th and 69th minute but such

:39:27. > :39:28.is the acrimony towards the former Kilmarnock chairman, there was a

:39:29. > :39:30.protest as early as the sixth minute. As for the other times, it

:39:31. > :39:33.did not really transpire as Kilmarnock fans suddenly had more to

:39:34. > :39:36.worry about on the pitch as Aberdeen took control well and truly of this

:39:37. > :39:39.match, with a bit of help from the referee. To be fair to Willie

:39:40. > :39:42.column, it happened that pace and he only gets one look at it and so

:39:43. > :39:45.often he is the man that gets labelled with controversy but it was

:39:46. > :39:46.a tricky one and it will be one to look at in the video replays again

:39:47. > :40:02.and again but it has given Aberdeen the impetus in this

:40:03. > :40:05.match. I should say as well that Adam Rooney, Jonny Hayes and Niall

:40:06. > :40:07.McGinn are all off, Derek McInnes is resting them because their job is

:40:08. > :40:09.done and Aberdeen's job is almost done with five minutes to go. 0-

:40:10. > :40:12.four. Scott's labours, watching Ross County gets St Johnstone, continue.

:40:13. > :40:14.St Johnstone still leading 2-0 but Ross County manager Jim McIntyre

:40:15. > :40:17.might want to go out and buy some Lucky Whitehead because he's already

:40:18. > :40:21.without a number of injured players and at the moment, Liam Boyce, his

:40:22. > :40:25.main striker, his main fit striker is down in the six yard box getting

:40:26. > :40:27.some treatment. He looks to have twisted his knee after a collision

:40:28. > :40:32.with the goalkeeper. They will be hoping that is not too serious and

:40:33. > :40:36.Liam Boyce will be hoping that as well because he is due to go away

:40:37. > :40:38.with Northern Ireland to play against San Marino and in Germany

:40:39. > :40:43.against the defending world champions. Let's just hope it is not

:40:44. > :40:47.too serious for him at the moment. They are already without great Karen

:40:48. > :40:51.and Alex Sharp, the strikers, and had to give a first start to

:40:52. > :40:58.18-year-old Greg Morrison. On the plus side for Ross County, they have

:40:59. > :41:01.managed to give a view minutes on the park to Chris Burke, the former

:41:02. > :41:04.Rangers and Scotland international, who signed earlier this week and

:41:05. > :41:08.Ryan Dow, who they signed in September under freedom of contract,

:41:09. > :41:12.who used to play the Dundee United. He's just coming back from injury.

:41:13. > :41:13.They have common appealed and Chris Burke with a shot that has been

:41:14. > :41:16.punched away by Zander Clark, the Burke with a shot that has been

:41:17. > :41:20.only serious effort on goal from Ross County so far this afternoon

:41:21. > :41:25.but it is looking bad for Liam Boyce as he is being helped off at the

:41:26. > :41:28.moment. It remains Ross County 0- two St Johnstone. Not heard a lot

:41:29. > :41:33.from Alistair this afternoon, so let's put it right, he's watching

:41:34. > :41:37.Hamilton against Inverness, still 1-0 to the home side? Yes but last

:41:38. > :41:40.time you spoke to me, Remi Matthews, the Hamilton goalkeeper was on the

:41:41. > :41:44.ground and he has since had to be replaced by Robbie Thomson, who was

:41:45. > :41:47.no sooner up on the part that he pulled off a magnificent save from

:41:48. > :41:51.Ross Draper header. A really good reflex save, one I am sure Gemma

:41:52. > :41:58.will appreciate, you might have seen it in the studio, terrific from the

:41:59. > :42:00.young man to keep his side in front. Caley Thistle beginning to pile on

:42:01. > :42:02.some pressure in the closing view minutes. They have got a free kick

:42:03. > :42:07.just outside the box, Accies hoping to hold on for the three points.

:42:08. > :42:12.Let's have a look at the scoreline from Ibrox where Rangers are at home

:42:13. > :42:17.to Partick Thistle this afternoon. No change there, Rangers still

:42:18. > :42:20.leading the jags 2-0, Kranjcar and Andy Halliday, Kranjcar in the 33rd

:42:21. > :42:25.minute and Andy Halliday in the 40th. But some disturbing news

:42:26. > :42:28.involving Rangers supporters, 18 of them have been hospitalised taken to

:42:29. > :42:34.hospital after fan's coach crashed. hospital after fan's coach crashed.

:42:35. > :42:38.-- fans' coach. I'll give you the details, 18 people taken to hospital

:42:39. > :42:41.after a coach carrying Rangers supporters over dead in East

:42:42. > :42:44.after a coach carrying Rangers Ayrshire and Police Scotland said

:42:45. > :42:46.three of the injured seriously hurt. Our thoughts are with everyone

:42:47. > :42:56.involved that of course and their families. Right, then -- after a

:42:57. > :43:03.coach overturned. But we are pressing on with the rest of the

:43:04. > :43:07.action. Aberdeen cruising, 4-0? All looking good for them. Yes, Derek

:43:08. > :43:09.McInnes would have felt they needed a performance like this, having

:43:10. > :43:13.scraped victory in the last couple of games, this is a strong

:43:14. > :43:17.performance, a strong scoreline and really it is beginning to look a bit

:43:18. > :43:21.hapless for the Kilmarnock defence, shipping so many goals against

:43:22. > :43:24.Celtic, same again this week. I know they are laying the best team in the

:43:25. > :43:26.league and Celtic and one of the better teams in the league in

:43:27. > :43:29.Aberdeen and they have to be more compact and competitive. They have

:43:30. > :43:34.to be able to put up a better challenge, particularly at home and

:43:35. > :43:37.again, I reiterate, against this backdrop of a club in turmoil, banz

:43:38. > :43:40.not happy with the board, it looks as though Kilmarnock are heading for

:43:41. > :43:44.a really difficult season. They could get sucked into a relegation

:43:45. > :43:48.battle very easily. Gemma Collies scoffed at me when I told you I had

:43:49. > :43:51.put Hamilton down to win in the predictor this afternoon but it

:43:52. > :43:55.looks like my knowledge, or rather my guesswork or bear fruit. That

:43:56. > :43:59.would be a really important win for them. It would be and I scoffed

:44:00. > :44:03.because Hamilton have not taken anything from Inverness, have not

:44:04. > :44:06.beaten them at New Douglas Park on the last six occasions they have

:44:07. > :44:09.played them but you are right, the slave from the substitute keeper who

:44:10. > :44:12.has just come on, a free kick from the wide right came in and a

:44:13. > :44:18.point-blank reaction save, absolutely fantastic. Caley Thistle,

:44:19. > :44:21.we were watching last week's game and defensively, they were

:44:22. > :44:25.fantastic. But at times defensively, they have looked a bit shaky here.

:44:26. > :44:30.Hamilton have had opportunities on the counterattack. This would be a

:44:31. > :44:34.huge three points for them. St Johnstone 2-0 away to Ross County

:44:35. > :44:37.and nice to see Chris Kane, a young player on the scoresheet for St

:44:38. > :44:51.Johnstone, one of a number of young players who have come through there.

:44:52. > :44:56.Yes, and they keep rolling on, St Johnstone, from week to week. I've

:44:57. > :45:01.ain't that keeps them well up there in the top four once again, and it's

:45:02. > :45:05.a fantastic job done by Tommy Wright and his staff. We move on to the

:45:06. > :45:07.Championship, to find out what is happening in our featured matches

:45:08. > :45:12.Championship, to find out what is there this afternoon. First up,

:45:13. > :45:16.Kenny Crawford is at Ayr United-Dunfermline, any goals yet?

:45:17. > :45:19.Not yet. This game is a bit behind the rest, the kick-off was delayed

:45:20. > :45:25.by five minutes because so many people were trying to take advantage

:45:26. > :45:29.of the ?5 entry fee. The attendance is 2883, so that is pretty

:45:30. > :45:32.impressive. The game has really opened up, with big gaps, and I

:45:33. > :45:41.would not be surprised if there was a late winner. ?5 to get in in the

:45:42. > :45:47.Ayrshire sunshine - who would not want to go to watch that? You cannot

:45:48. > :45:51.argue with that. This was a League One game of course last season. But

:45:52. > :45:59.I think both teams have shown that they are able to cope with the step

:46:00. > :46:02.up. Alan Johnson went to Dunfermline and might have felt that he had a

:46:03. > :46:06.point to prove. I think both of those managers are showing their

:46:07. > :46:09.experience, because that is a very competitive league that they have

:46:10. > :46:13.gone up into, and they're showing they can hold their own in it. It's

:46:14. > :46:19.great to see so many people turning up for that game as well. Rookie

:46:20. > :46:23.manager Gavin Skelton's queen of the South, away to Dumbarton this

:46:24. > :46:29.afternoon - let's see if Connie can bring us a goal? It is still

:46:30. > :46:33.goalless, I thought they were trying to silence me here, because the

:46:34. > :46:40.power went down! We just had a free kick saved from about 25 yards out.

:46:41. > :46:46.Dumbarton, however, coming back into this one. I have been really

:46:47. > :46:51.impressed by Ryan Stevenson, whose linkup play with Smith has been

:46:52. > :46:55.decent. It has been an interesting afternoon, with some decent

:46:56. > :47:06.football, but still no goals. The only goal in the Championship so far

:47:07. > :47:12.is fors. -- is for Morton. They would move up to sixth, if they run

:47:13. > :47:16.that one? Yes, that would be fantastic. Coming off the back of a

:47:17. > :47:20.fantastic performance in the League Cup as well. Just trying to bring

:47:21. > :47:29.some consistency in the league alongside that I'm sure will be the

:47:30. > :47:35.aim of Jim Duffy. And Ross Forbes, an old team-mate of mine, it's no

:47:36. > :47:40.surprise it is him that has managed to get himself on the scoresheet.

:47:41. > :47:46.And as managers, they do not come much more experienced in that

:47:47. > :47:50.division then Jim Duffy? No, he's a very experienced campaigner at every

:47:51. > :47:53.level that he's worked at. I saw them winning last week and it was

:47:54. > :48:01.richly deserve. Arab Spring king of young players. A couple on loan from

:48:02. > :48:05.Celtic and a couple of others. And a bit of experience mixed in as well.

:48:06. > :48:09.And Jim is managing to steer them, and I think they will be made table

:48:10. > :48:15.the cup semifinal to look forward to the cup semifinal to look forward to

:48:16. > :48:19.. I think it was under pressure earlier in the season, but he's

:48:20. > :48:24.shown that it was nonsense, he's the man for that job. The full-time

:48:25. > :48:28.reports are beginning to come in, the first of which will be common

:48:29. > :48:34.against Aberdeen. Here we can see the full-time scenes at Rugby Park.

:48:35. > :48:37.A good win for Aberdeen, 4-0 winners against Kilmarnock. Jonathan can

:48:38. > :48:41.give us the full-time report. The debate will surround the decision by

:48:42. > :48:45.the referee to award Aberdeen a first half penalty. Video replays

:48:46. > :48:50.suggested that perhaps it should have been a free kick awarded to

:48:51. > :48:55.Kilmarnock after James Madison went in and was either taken down or

:48:56. > :49:02.fouled, depending on your point of view. But it was a penalty to

:49:03. > :49:07.Aberdeen, which Adam Goody duly dispatched. That gave Aberdeen the

:49:08. > :49:14.momentum in this match, as they took a 1-0 lead into half-time. Very soon

:49:15. > :49:20.after that, it was 2-0, and the Costa and thumping in an effort into

:49:21. > :49:23.the top corner. Adam Rooney then got his second of the match to make it

:49:24. > :49:36.4-0. In truth, he could have had a hat-trick. For the Aberdeen fans,

:49:37. > :49:40.the job was well and truly done. They go back to second in the table.

:49:41. > :49:45.It will be fascinating to see what Kilmarnock manager Lee Clark has to

:49:46. > :49:53.say about that decision to award Aberdeen a penalty. We will find out

:49:54. > :49:56.very shortly. I should not have been crowing about my predictive prowess

:49:57. > :50:01.earlier, because there has been a goal between Hamilton and Inverness.

:50:02. > :50:04.And it has gone to Caley Thistle? And what a goal it was as well. Six

:50:05. > :50:14.minutes of injury time are being played. Anne Dudley Polworth took

:50:15. > :50:19.full advantage of that, with a low drive into the corner. It was a

:50:20. > :50:23.sickener for the Accies, looking for their first win in four games. But

:50:24. > :50:29.Caley Thistle had been pressing. It now looks like they have got their

:50:30. > :50:34.reward. I was too busy talking to see that goal, but when I look

:50:35. > :50:38.around, it was a cutaway shot of Martin Canning on the touchline

:50:39. > :50:42.shaking his head? Yes, he will be so disappointed. I think Hamilton have

:50:43. > :50:45.been the better team. To concede a goal so late is gutting for him. It

:50:46. > :50:49.would have taken them up to meet table. And now, they're just looking

:50:50. > :50:53.would have taken them up to meet at the point. However, given the

:50:54. > :51:02.scores elsewhere, it takes them away from Partick Thistle and from

:51:03. > :51:06.Kilmarnock. Yes, it's still so tight. But just getting those three

:51:07. > :51:10.points, especially when you've been the better side, it must be so

:51:11. > :51:16.frustrating for them. Richard, can you add anything to that? I'm just

:51:17. > :51:26.watching that... I thought you'd passed out! Just watching a bust up

:51:27. > :51:27.in the Ross County game. But yes, I've spoken to Martin Canning a few

:51:28. > :51:32.times this season, and he I've spoken to Martin Canning a few

:51:33. > :51:36.saying his team is playing well, but they're not getting the rewards.

:51:37. > :51:41.They're not getting any goals, either? They're not, but also,

:51:42. > :51:48.they're conceding. It's almost like they have to score two to have any

:51:49. > :51:51.chance. So I can understand why he was standing on the touchline

:51:52. > :51:57.shaking his head, because his team did everything except win today. I

:51:58. > :52:03.think they will be happy with a point today, should they get it? And

:52:04. > :52:15.I think this game is just over. There were chances within the last

:52:16. > :52:19.couple of minutes at either end. But yes, I think they will happy with a

:52:20. > :52:24.point in the end. As we mentioned, the match is indeed over at New

:52:25. > :52:28.Douglas Park. 1-1 was the full-time score. We can get the details now

:52:29. > :52:32.from Alan. Iestyn Hamilton at the players, some of them are sitting on

:52:33. > :52:36.the artificial turf here, they just cannot believe they have put so much

:52:37. > :52:42.into that match and only emerged with a point. It was a point that

:52:43. > :52:45.was snatched late on as Liam Polworth drove in from distance past

:52:46. > :52:51.substitute goalkeeper Robbie Thompson to earn Thistle a draw and

:52:52. > :52:56.extend their run to five matches unbeaten, having started the season

:52:57. > :53:00.with three straight defeats. Richie Foran is clearly doing something

:53:01. > :53:06.right, but they were second best for much of this match. They had gone

:53:07. > :53:16.behind to Alex dark holes first league goal. That was after Owain

:53:17. > :53:20.Fon Williams has kept out a glancing header. Accies were on top for much

:53:21. > :53:23.of the game, but Caley Thistle had a couple of efforts saved on the line

:53:24. > :53:27.so they were never out of it. And so they proved, as we went into six

:53:28. > :53:28.minutes of injury time, with Polworth snatching that late

:53:29. > :53:34.equaliser. And I believe it is Polworth snatching that late

:53:35. > :53:40.full-time now in Dingwall, between Ross County and St Johnstone. Scott

:53:41. > :53:43.Davies there for us - Tommy Wright, the victorious manager this

:53:44. > :53:48.afternoon? Yes. A 2-0 win for his side. It was an incident-packed

:53:49. > :53:56.game, not especially brilliant in terms of quality. But more bad luck

:53:57. > :53:59.for Ross County and injuries. We will come to that in a minute. The

:54:00. > :54:05.moment which matter for St Johnstone was a penalty on 42 minutes, and the

:54:06. > :54:08.Swanson converting his eighth Goal of the Season. Jay McEveley, called

:54:09. > :54:14.into the starting line-up because of an injury in the warm up, gave away

:54:15. > :54:17.the penalty with a needless push. He nearly equalised himself in the

:54:18. > :54:26.second half, as did Chris Burke, the former Rangers and Scotland player,

:54:27. > :54:34.who came off the bench late on. But by that time, Ross County were 2-0

:54:35. > :54:37.down. The slickest move of the afternoon, the finish applied by

:54:38. > :54:42.Chris Kane for his second of the season. But on the injury front,

:54:43. > :54:47.already without a couple of main strikers, including Alex Schalk,

:54:48. > :54:51.Liam Boyce in an accidental collision in the penalty box, after

:54:52. > :54:55.Chris Burke had forced Clarke into a safe, seemed to twist his knee and

:54:56. > :54:59.he was carried from the field. I think it's a fair bet to say he will

:55:00. > :55:03.miss Northern Ireland's double-header against San Marino and

:55:04. > :55:07.Germany in the qualifiers. Lots of headaches for Jim McIntyre to try

:55:08. > :55:11.and sort out before Ross County comeback after the international

:55:12. > :55:14.break and tried to pull themselves together after encouraging

:55:15. > :55:18.performances at Ibrox and Tynecastle. It was not really one

:55:19. > :55:32.this afternoon, however. Full-time at Ibrox. And these are the vital

:55:33. > :55:36.statistics. Rangers, 2-0 winners. Rangers's first win in the

:55:37. > :55:39.Premiership since the 20th of August. For Partick Thistle, it

:55:40. > :55:45.extends their winless run to six games. Let's go down to the

:55:46. > :55:47.Championship now, and Connie McLaughlin is watching Dumbarton

:55:48. > :55:52.against Queen of the South. Full-time? Yes, and it has finished

:55:53. > :56:00.0-0. Queen of the South, is till unbeaten. First half was tight

:56:01. > :56:03.without a tonne of opportunities. The best chance came for Kyle Jacobs

:56:04. > :56:05.in the 23rd minute. His effort from 20 yards just went over the

:56:06. > :56:08.in the 23rd minute. His effort from crossbar, much to the delight of the

:56:09. > :56:16.home supporters. Dumbarton stood their ground. The second half was

:56:17. > :56:22.just as open, with Dumbarton finding their rhythm. Ryan Stevenson linking

:56:23. > :56:34.up well with Smith. At the other end, Queen of the South looked the

:56:35. > :56:37.more urgent. But as they pushed forward, they look too vulnerable

:56:38. > :56:40.and the back. However Dumbarton did not have enough in their locker to

:56:41. > :56:47.take full advantage. Probably a fair result in the end. Let's hop across

:56:48. > :56:53.the Clyde to Greenock, where Morton are at home to Raith Rovers. Let's

:56:54. > :56:57.say good evening to young. Good evening to you. Another vital

:56:58. > :57:01.victory for Morton. It was a stunning goal, Ross Forbes, with a

:57:02. > :57:08.fabulous free kick after just 18 minutes. It was around 25 yards out,

:57:09. > :57:17.and the opportunity was created by his team-mates. Forbes took free

:57:18. > :57:25.kick left-footed and curled it around the wall, to the left of

:57:26. > :57:29.Kevin Cuthbert. It was a great game, enjoyed it, good, physical

:57:30. > :57:33.challenges all around, although there was a reshaped for Morton

:57:34. > :57:38.after 38 minutes, with one player being stretchered off to be replaced

:57:39. > :57:42.by Andy Murdoch. And near the end, Andie McNeil GTAM Morton goalkeeper

:57:43. > :57:49.had to go off with a knock to the head as well. Morton have won three

:57:50. > :57:55.points in the glorious sunshine in Clyde this afternoon. Sounds like

:57:56. > :57:58.you had a ball! So did Quinney Crawford, who was watching Ayr

:57:59. > :58:07.United against Dunfermline. Goalless at the end? Yes, the last time Ayr

:58:08. > :58:11.United beat Dunfermline at home was in 2009. If they have done it today,

:58:12. > :58:15.that would have been them being successful in their tenth attempt.

:58:16. > :58:20.But Ayr United did have plenty of chances to get that win. Brian

:58:21. > :58:30.Gilmore's long-range volley, was one of those chances. There were several

:58:31. > :58:43.others, as the first 45 minutes was dominated by Ayr. Alternately, no

:58:44. > :58:46.goals in front of a crowd of 2883. And Kenny's thoughts take as nicely

:58:47. > :03:08.onto today's classified results round-up.

:03:09. > :03:52.Hibs can go top if they beat Dundee tomorrow.

:03:53. > :03:55.A lot of the big guns yet to play this weekend in the English Premier

:03:56. > :04:37.League. Let's here from a couple of

:04:38. > :04:40.managers, first, Tommy Wright who was speaking after today's match

:04:41. > :04:48.between Ross County and his St Johnstone. Your reflections on that

:04:49. > :04:51.2-0 win? Really satisfied with the performance. I thought the first

:04:52. > :04:58.half was as good as what we have been this year. We were excellent,

:04:59. > :05:05.fully deserve to be 1-0 up, and in the second half, probably did not

:05:06. > :05:10.start as well as we should have. Careless clearances put us under

:05:11. > :05:14.pressure. Only one clear-cut chance to Ross County the end. Even in that

:05:15. > :05:16.spell, we had chances on the to Ross County the end. Even in that

:05:17. > :05:21.counterattack and finish the game off with a great goal and took total

:05:22. > :05:27.control. It's not easy to come here. You know, it is a great start for

:05:28. > :05:31.us, away from home as well, we went to Partick and won and Motherwell

:05:32. > :05:36.and won and Hamilton and now we have peering got three points. That is a

:05:37. > :05:42.good return from the away games. -- and now we have come here. He does

:05:43. > :05:45.not sound very happy! That is Tommy, but it has obviously been a

:05:46. > :05:48.satisfying gave them. It's difficult to go there and they will be pleased

:05:49. > :05:51.to come away with that and pick things up again after losing in the

:05:52. > :05:55.League Cup. Tommy just does what he does at St Johnstone, keep them in

:05:56. > :06:00.the top half, fighting to the top four, bringing through young

:06:01. > :06:07.players, signing shrewdly and he's doing a very good job. Gemma, USA

:06:08. > :06:10.traditionally they have -- you were saying traditionally St Johnstone

:06:11. > :06:15.have a slow start but that seems not to be the case. I'm hoping the

:06:16. > :06:19.wobble was the draw against Aberdeen in the cup but he does a very good

:06:20. > :06:22.job with not a lot of resources and to have us consistently in the top

:06:23. > :06:27.half of the table and I'm hoping that continues this season, is

:06:28. > :06:31.fantastic for a club like ours. County, five games without a win?

:06:32. > :06:37.Yes, surprising really. Jim McIntyre and Billy Dodds, you know, they have

:06:38. > :06:41.been consistent themselves, to be honest, so to go that far without a

:06:42. > :06:44.win is surprising. But I think the team they have got, they will bounce

:06:45. > :06:48.back pretty soon and I expect them to be challenging for the top six

:06:49. > :06:55.again. I omitted Rangers, their first win since August 26. Ridgers

:06:56. > :07:01.just have to start finding the net, more regular basis. They will will

:07:02. > :07:04.be looking to get more people contributing with goals, from Ghana.

:07:05. > :07:09.The difference between the likes of them and even Aberdeen and Celtic is

:07:10. > :07:13.having that firepower at the top end of the pitch. I think Rangers need

:07:14. > :07:15.to find that as well. If they are to get themselves challenging at the

:07:16. > :07:21.to find that as well. If they are to top end. Looking at the table,

:07:22. > :07:24.jabber, Celtic and Aberdeen, Hearts, St Johnstone, Rangers and Motherwell

:07:25. > :07:28.as the top six and I would be surprised if that is now the top six

:07:29. > :07:32.finish. -- not be surprised if they were the top six, maybe not those

:07:33. > :07:35.places. Yes, but you have got Inverness and Ross County although

:07:36. > :07:39.it looks like Liam Boyce is out potentially for we while and Curran

:07:40. > :07:43.is already out, they have scored eight goals in the league and those

:07:44. > :07:46.to have scored seven so where will the goals come from now? They

:07:47. > :07:50.started the season ready well, Liam Boyce was Player of the Month in

:07:51. > :07:54.August and they need to find a form again. Looking at the bottom six,

:07:55. > :08:01.Richard, Partick Thistle, Kilmarnock and Dundee in the bottom three.

:08:02. > :08:04.Worrying signs for them. A little, but I think most of the managers

:08:05. > :08:07.have been relatively happy with the way their teams have been performing

:08:08. > :08:10.but results have not come. There's not a lot of points between the

:08:11. > :08:13.teams at the bottom, they are bunched up. I think it will probably

:08:14. > :08:17.be that way for most of the season. I don't see anyone being cut adrift.

:08:18. > :08:20.I think everyone is capable of taking points off each other and

:08:21. > :08:30.obviously, Celtic will have a gap at the top and there will be another

:08:31. > :08:33.couple in the top three but I think it is going to be very tight right

:08:34. > :08:37.to the end of the season for both clubs. I'm afraid it's time for us

:08:38. > :08:39.to leave you in peace, and leave you indeed with a look ahead at what is

:08:40. > :08:42.to come. Jonathan and company are here at tea-time with a highlights

:08:43. > :08:45.show at 6pm on BBC Two Scotland and if you missed it or want to watch

:08:46. > :08:50.again, it is repeated after Match of the Day in high definition on BBC

:08:51. > :08:59.One. Keith is off to join Stuart and Tam on Saturday Supplement on the

:09:00. > :09:02.wireless, which starts online and on digital. Tomorrow morning, I am

:09:03. > :09:06.working at the great Scottish run and our coverage starts at 11am on

:09:07. > :09:09.BBC Two Scotland. Good luck if you are taking part and if you see me,

:09:10. > :09:13.come and say hello but it is goodbye for now and from us, thanks to

:09:14. > :09:16.Gemma, Keith and Richard for their wit and wisdom and thanks to you for

:09:17. > :09:19.watching. See you soon.
