:00:17. > :00:25.Yes, good afternoon and welcome to another results show. If this were a

:00:26. > :00:29.movie, I would call it the Hopeful Eight because it is Scottish Cup

:00:30. > :00:30.quarterfinal weekend. Our all-star cast features reporters across the

:00:31. > :00:37.nation and in the studio, Brad Smith nation and in the studio, Brad Smith

:00:38. > :00:48.-- Pat Nevin and Pat Bonner. We start with the William Hill Scottish

:00:49. > :00:53.Cup quarterfinal. Rangers against an inform Dundee. It finished Rangers

:00:54. > :01:02.four, Dundee zero. Mark Warburton, a study in what calm contentment can

:01:03. > :01:07.do. His side, 4-0 winners, the goals coming from Forrester, 13 seconds

:01:08. > :01:14.into the match. The total added to by Holt, Halliday and Wallace.

:01:15. > :01:18.Gents, Mr Nevin first, Rangers beating Dundee, it couldn't be

:01:19. > :01:26.classed as a surprise, but perhaps the emphatic nature of the win good.

:01:27. > :01:34.Probably a big surprise to anybody watching up until half-time. Rangers

:01:35. > :01:39.were great for 25 minutes, super. But Dundee for 20 minutes looked the

:01:40. > :01:43.better team. But then they did exactly the same thing at the start

:01:44. > :01:46.of the second half as in the first half, which is to score a very early

:01:47. > :01:55.goal and after that Rangers just powered forward. Rangers fans

:01:56. > :02:00.watching today, Pat Bonner they must think that they can go on and win

:02:01. > :02:05.this competition. You've got to say, when I watched Celtic play Rangers a

:02:06. > :02:11.couple of years ago and compared it to this team now, there is a huge

:02:12. > :02:16.difference. They will be confident they can take on anybody at this

:02:17. > :02:20.moment in time. They have got confidence. They know that Hibs have

:02:21. > :02:25.blown it against them, so they are going to win the league. They can go

:02:26. > :02:35.out today and just relax and play. The way to win, with pace, the

:02:36. > :02:43.full-backs forward, with movement, Mackay, Holt, Milly up front. It

:02:44. > :02:47.goes from lots of different places. That was the worry for Rangers, with

:02:48. > :02:54.wacko one out. That question was answered emphatically. That is the

:02:55. > :02:58.key for Rangers. The pressure was off them. When you play that type of

:02:59. > :03:03.football with an expression and a lack of pressure, it is great to

:03:04. > :03:06.watch. Once the pressure comes on, it is different. That will not be

:03:07. > :03:13.there any more for Rangers. I thought they played really well

:03:14. > :03:18.today. Dundee, 4-0, incredible. Almost time to cry havoc and let

:03:19. > :03:20.slip our team of reporters around the country, because there are

:03:21. > :03:25.matches the foot. We start in Dingwall and we hear from Martin

:03:26. > :03:36.down, watching the other quarterfinal of the Scottish Cup.

:03:37. > :03:40.Dundee against Ross County. Dundee came back into it in the second

:03:41. > :03:45.half. Almost immediately, a red card. Graham slotted the penalty

:03:46. > :03:55.home. United fans, singing again now. Anier arriving at the back

:03:56. > :04:03.post. The game has exploded into life. A good performance from Nevin

:04:04. > :04:07.-- Anier. Incredible, getting himself into the team. I am

:04:08. > :04:12.surprised he has been in the team. But he is in the team, he has scored

:04:13. > :04:16.two goals. I thought they were maybe gone after the second goal but --

:04:17. > :04:21.but they fought back. That will delight them. They want that

:04:22. > :04:28.fighting quality. It was incredible today. But the pitch was very

:04:29. > :04:32.difficult to play on. It was a real cup tie, the wind was blowing, the

:04:33. > :04:38.sun was out for a while, the pitch was sandy. It has the makings of a

:04:39. > :04:42.very good cup tie up there. Before the match, Jimmy McIntyre was

:04:43. > :04:48.saying, we have to play the percentage passes. Are they doing

:04:49. > :04:52.that? Is that a euphemism for getting it in the box if they can?

:04:53. > :04:57.Yes, they have. They have profited from it. That is how they got the

:04:58. > :05:05.first goal, from the corner kick. Really, when that sending-off

:05:06. > :05:09.happens, down to ten men, 2-1, away from home, you are thinking Dundee

:05:10. > :05:13.United. Up until the sending-off, they were getting more and more into

:05:14. > :05:17.the game and probably looking favourites. Once again,

:05:18. > :05:24.well-balanced and both teams are now beginning to learn how to deal with

:05:25. > :05:27.the conditions. You compare it to Rangers, beautiful passing play,

:05:28. > :05:32.they are not doing it up there now, no chance. Get the ball in the box

:05:33. > :05:37.and fight for it. Get the ball forward early and play from there.

:05:38. > :05:41.Nothing wrong with that. We will talk about that later but let's go

:05:42. > :05:45.to Tynecastle and into the Premiership, with third placed

:05:46. > :05:50.Hearts are at home to Partick Thistle. Brian McLauchlin. Arnaud

:05:51. > :05:56.Djum with a thundering header after 25 minutes. This six goal of the

:05:57. > :06:00.season. Hearts are on course for their third league win at Tynecastle

:06:01. > :06:05.in the last seven days, but Partick Thistle still in the game. New

:06:06. > :06:10.Douglas Park, a Lanarkshire derby. Let's hear what is happening from

:06:11. > :06:15.John Barnes. Motherwell haven't won at New Douglas Park since May 2009,

:06:16. > :06:19.when Mark McGhee was in his first spell in charge of the Ferney Park

:06:20. > :06:25.side. They are leading 1-0, scored by Louis Laing seconds before

:06:26. > :06:28.half-time. Into the Championship, and off to the Falkirk Stadium. They

:06:29. > :06:33.have the chance to go and off to the Falkirk Stadium. They

:06:34. > :06:38.place if they get a point at home to Alloa. Let's hear from Richard

:06:39. > :06:41.Wilson. No question they will move into second place. They have

:06:42. > :06:46.controlled the game from the off. Paul Watson and Mark Kerr scoring in

:06:47. > :06:51.the first half. It is a question of how many goals for clock can add to

:06:52. > :06:56.the scoreline. Pat Nevin, astonishingly, an aeroplane flying

:06:57. > :06:59.above Tynecastle with a banner calling for Robbie Neilson to be

:07:00. > :07:04.relieved of his position. Have we gone through the looking glass?

:07:05. > :07:09.Either that or a bunch of Hibs fans are having a laugh. Everybody is

:07:10. > :07:14.allowed their opinion. The easy way to do it is on Twitter. If you can

:07:15. > :07:21.hire a plane to do it... Considering how well team have done... It is two

:07:22. > :07:30.seasons. They are in third, chasing second. If they win today they are

:07:31. > :07:36.in the top six. He has achieved it, his goal. With Aberdeen in their

:07:37. > :07:40.sights? At the start of the season, that is what they wanted. The

:07:41. > :07:43.suggestion was a lack of personality and the style of the team. I tell

:07:44. > :07:49.you what, they would have craved that a fuel years ago. I suspect

:07:50. > :07:56.there is a bit of funny business. Even Lanarkshire derby, Motherwell

:07:57. > :08:01.1-0 up. That is an important match for both teams. It goes a lot

:08:02. > :08:05.further up the league table than both of those teams. If you get, if

:08:06. > :08:11.you are a Motherwell fan or player and you win against Hamilton,

:08:12. > :08:14.excludes them looking down again. If Motherwell can hold on, they are

:08:15. > :08:19.looking up the table, even talking Motherwell can hold on, they are

:08:20. > :08:22.about getting into the top six. Motherwell could just have a bit of

:08:23. > :08:26.luck and they could jump up to who knows, but they have to stay away

:08:27. > :08:32.from Kilmarnock. Any result against any team around about now is

:08:33. > :08:37.crucial. Today's game is crucial. Falkirk are looking up against

:08:38. > :08:40.Alloa. They will go second. For a while it was a foregone conclusion

:08:41. > :08:47.it would be Rangers and Hibs at the top. We have been talking about how

:08:48. > :08:50.well Falkirk have done all year and Peter Houston. They have done

:08:51. > :08:55.exceptionally well. Hibs have dropped off. It doesn't matter too

:08:56. > :09:00.much. I think Hibs, Falkirk, and it will be a fight as to who will get

:09:01. > :09:05.into the other places. That game in the play-offs, that is what

:09:06. > :09:11.eventually happens. Well done, Falkirk. We have waxed lyrical about

:09:12. > :09:14.Hibs for a long time and Falkirk have stuck in there. Time for

:09:15. > :09:22.mountain down -- Martin down to give us more against Ross County and

:09:23. > :09:29.Dundee United. Ian Boyce -- Liam Boyce's 18th goal of the season

:09:30. > :09:33.appeared to have Ross County on the way to a League Cup final, but it

:09:34. > :09:40.isn't cruising that easy. A simple set piece from McConnell, out to

:09:41. > :09:43.Andrew Davidson, who nodded it into the six yard boss. Boyce was

:09:44. > :09:54.well-positioned to flick is at the home. A big travelling support in

:09:55. > :10:02.Dingwall. A short deflection to Anier, he swatted it past Woods.

:10:03. > :10:05.Graham was ordered -- Graham confidently slammed the penalty

:10:06. > :10:11.home. We thought it would be another horrible afternoon for United, but

:10:12. > :10:15.the fans are going mad, thanks to Anier's second goal of the

:10:16. > :10:22.afternoon. He slotted the ball into the net. A right old Scottish Cup

:10:23. > :10:26.battle on a difficult pitch and it is entertaining. Let's hear from

:10:27. > :10:32.Brian McLauchlin who is watching the Premiership encounter involving

:10:33. > :10:39.Hearts and Partick this. 13 minutes left at Tynecastle, a packed

:10:40. > :10:45.attendance. They were welcomed on their feet after a boom from Djum

:10:46. > :10:49.after 25 minutes, a thundering header by the Cameroonian. The

:10:50. > :10:57.Partick Thistle defence just couldn't cope with Djum as he

:10:58. > :11:03.thumped in the header. A couple of half chances, Sam Nicholson has done

:11:04. > :11:08.well. A good save by Tomas Cerny. The substitute should have done

:11:09. > :11:12.better when set up by Jamie Walker, but he blasted the ball high over

:11:13. > :11:16.the crossbar. Don't rule out Partick this, they are doing well up front

:11:17. > :11:20.but they can't find their way through a strong Hearts defence.

:11:21. > :11:28.John Souter doing very well at the back. Just on kick-off time here, a

:11:29. > :11:33.small aircraft overhead gave us a banner, saying, no style, Nielsen

:11:34. > :11:39.out. Who is that coming from? Anyway, ten minutes left at

:11:40. > :11:44.Tynecastle. We have spoken about that earlier. Let it go! Let's go to

:11:45. > :11:49.New Douglas Park and Hamilton against Motherwell, John Barnes.

:11:50. > :11:53.Motherwell have just been awarded a penalty. It was Chris Cadden who was

:11:54. > :11:58.going through and Michael McGovern pulled him down just inside the edge

:11:59. > :12:03.of the six yard box. It is a yellow card for Michael McGovern and a

:12:04. > :12:08.chance for Motherwell to go 2-0 in front. They are leading by 1-0, the

:12:09. > :12:17.score by Louis Laing, seconds before the interval. It was from a corner

:12:18. > :12:21.kick. It was headed on and bounced off the shoulder of McGovern into

:12:22. > :12:27.the path of Laing, and he blasted it home. Now Motherwell have the

:12:28. > :12:33.opportunity, with this spot kick. It looks like Louis Moult is lining up

:12:34. > :12:37.to take it. Before that, the referee, Kevin Clancy, is making his

:12:38. > :12:41.way over to have a word with the fourth official about something that

:12:42. > :12:46.may well have happened with the dugouts. Mainly, the coaches in the

:12:47. > :12:51.dugout. The fourth official is having a word. Gavin Duncan is

:12:52. > :12:55.talking to Kevin Clancy. It will be interesting to see what it is about,

:12:56. > :13:00.who will he have a word with. Guess who? It is Mark McGhee, would you

:13:01. > :13:03.believe it. He has been awarded a penalty and he is doing a bit of

:13:04. > :13:08.pointing towards the fourth official. He is none too happy with

:13:09. > :13:13.something. Kevin Clancy says, cut it out. Now he is going over to the

:13:14. > :13:19.other technical area and, guess who, no, it isn't mock McGann, it is

:13:20. > :13:26.little Danny currying. -- Danny Cunningham. Kevin Clancy is now

:13:27. > :13:31.making his way back up towards the penalty area and making sure

:13:32. > :13:36.everyone is outside the box. We have got nine minutes left of play at new

:13:37. > :13:39.got -- New Douglas Park. Up comes Louis Moult with his right foot,

:13:40. > :13:41.slotting it in towards the Louis Moult with his right foot,

:13:42. > :13:47.right-hand corner, and a great day by Michael McGovern, tipping it

:13:48. > :14:00.around the post. -- a great save. The scoreline remains Hamilton

:14:01. > :14:03.Academical zero, Motherwell 1. And Michael McGovern saved, and well

:14:04. > :14:11.done to John Barnes. Let's go to the Falkirk Stadium. Richard Wilson. It

:14:12. > :14:19.is 2-0, but only just. Moments ago, Lee Miller had a header from

:14:20. > :14:22.post-Raonic -- close range. In truth, if it wasn't for Scott

:14:23. > :14:31.Gallacher in goal, the scoreline would be worse for Alloa. He was

:14:32. > :14:34.helpless after earlier luck. There was a lovely four-man flowing move

:14:35. > :14:40.that began with Danny Rogers in the Falkirk goal. The ball was moved

:14:41. > :14:46.upfield. Played infield, into the path of Kerr, and he hit the ball

:14:47. > :14:52.from 20 yards into the top corner of the net. Falkirk have been in

:14:53. > :14:55.complete command throughout. Alloa have been in damage limitation mode.

:14:56. > :15:02.It would be worse if it wasn't for the goalkeeper. Falkirk are moving

:15:03. > :15:07.up to second in the Championship. Let's take a moment to consider the

:15:08. > :15:11.live Scottish Cup tie tomorrow. Prognostication and punditry shortly

:15:12. > :15:21.after this programme, because you can watch Hibs Vert says desperately

:15:22. > :15:26.against Inverness tomorrow. Rob Maclean is your host. -- you can

:15:27. > :15:31.watch Hibs against Inverness. This is a hard one to call. Remember

:15:32. > :15:39.this? You won't be surprised that I do remember. This is Hibs in good

:15:40. > :15:45.form. It may well be it is the pinnacle of the season. Downhill

:15:46. > :15:52.from there? Exactly. Against a Hearts site flying high, Hibs looked

:15:53. > :15:57.unstoppable at that point. Indeed, what has happened since, Pat Bonner,

:15:58. > :16:02.three league defeats on the spin, including this most recent one

:16:03. > :16:06.midweek against Queen of the South. It is a difficult place to go, on

:16:07. > :16:13.that pitch, away from home. It is tricky. But the game against Morton

:16:14. > :16:20.at home, 3-0, that is the one... I think fans of Hibs will be shocked.

:16:21. > :16:25.back the confidence that they need. back the confidence that they need.

:16:26. > :16:29.-- Tamara's game. The final is coming up. They haven't lost

:16:30. > :16:34.confidence because the results have been poor. It is that old man struck

:16:35. > :16:39.about the performances. The argument is, that you have a bad week or

:16:40. > :16:43.eight days, and it is no more than that. You have to make sure players

:16:44. > :16:47.don't lose that confidence. Tomorrow, if they win it, suddenly

:16:48. > :16:52.everybody is massively lifted again and they have next week to look

:16:53. > :17:02.forward to. He has done so well. Now this is a time that any manager has

:17:03. > :17:06.to really, really get his team motivated, get that confidence back,

:17:07. > :17:11.get all of the doubt out of their brains. It starts with a win

:17:12. > :17:16.tomorrow. It is a tough game. They have to play Inverness, the cup

:17:17. > :17:18.holders. They got through to this round by beating Premiership

:17:19. > :17:26.opposition against Motherwell. A cracking goal to do it. Absolutely.

:17:27. > :17:29.An interesting game. There was a big argument as to whether the goal

:17:30. > :17:33.should have stood, because there was an argument for a foul in the

:17:34. > :17:38.build-up. But there was nothing wrong with the finish, a cracker. He

:17:39. > :17:42.came on as a substitute and did well. They have had a bit of Egypt

:17:43. > :17:47.as well. That is the big difference. With two teams in great form,

:17:48. > :17:54.suddenly a dip. -- they have had a bit of a dip. As a goalkeeper, you

:17:55. > :18:01.don't like to see bad backpass against Hearts in midweek. Exactly.

:18:02. > :18:04.You know how John wants to play the game, he wants to keep possession.

:18:05. > :18:10.The ball could have been in the stand, but the mindset was to knock

:18:11. > :18:13.it back. It was a blind pass. Hearts, they were reading it, and it

:18:14. > :18:17.was a goal that you wouldn't expect normally. A blind pass is never on

:18:18. > :18:32.back to the keeper. John Hughes has said you can't treat

:18:33. > :18:37.Hibs as that kind of side. It will be a great atmosphere.

:18:38. > :18:43.You are making me nervous already. I think it will be a great game. I

:18:44. > :18:46.hope that both teams play to the best of their ability. And the

:18:47. > :18:52.pitch. If it is in good condition, that

:18:53. > :18:56.makes a difference. And the score against Hearts, suspended? But there

:18:57. > :19:00.is creation in various other parts of the field. They have players that

:19:01. > :19:06.have scored goals. There is a concern. But they are good players,

:19:07. > :19:09.they have the capability to score. We have seen them in periods, they

:19:10. > :19:15.have looked OK. Pat, who is going through for this

:19:16. > :19:21.one? Funnily, I think Hibs will sneak it. Funny that, I will go for

:19:22. > :19:27.Inverness. In the interest of balance. We can

:19:28. > :19:32.find out which of the panelists is correct tomorrow. Next week Hibs

:19:33. > :19:39.play Ross County in the League Cup final. You can watch that live on

:19:40. > :19:44.BBC Two, coverage starting at 2. 30. Rob McLean is your host.

:19:45. > :19:52.Now to the grounds for an update on the matches. We start at Victoria

:19:53. > :19:58.Park, where we are watching Dundee United.

:19:59. > :20:03.2 each in the Scottish Cup quarter-final. A fantastic tie. As

:20:04. > :20:08.the guys rightly pointed out on a dubious pitch. Both sides coping

:20:09. > :20:13.well. Both getting the ball. Creating chances. Coming thick and

:20:14. > :20:20.fast. Dundee United down to ten men. The

:20:21. > :20:25.real credit, they are fighting back. But County edging up the park.

:20:26. > :20:30.United may be forced to sit in and see if they can hold County off, the

:20:31. > :20:35.challenge that the side are likely to throw at them.

:20:36. > :20:42.Over to Brian McLoughlin at Tynecastle. What is happening? Well,

:20:43. > :20:50.it is still Hearts one, Partick Thistle nil. Hearts looking to

:20:51. > :20:55.exploit spaces at the back. They have brought on substitutes. But no

:20:56. > :21:00.way through for Partick Thistle and and no second goal. Three minutes

:21:01. > :21:06.left to play. Now from John Barnes. He is at the

:21:07. > :21:10.game, Hamilton Accies against Motherwell. Exciting the last time

:21:11. > :21:15.we heard from you, what is happening now.

:21:16. > :21:23.Still two minutes to play. Hamilton Accies, nil, Motherwell, one.

:21:24. > :21:28.The Louis Moult penalty, saved by Michael McGovern after a delay while

:21:29. > :21:36.the referee spoke to the Hamilton Accies kit manager. But the Accies

:21:37. > :21:43.seem to have renewed having your. Looking for an equaliser. But

:21:44. > :21:51.MacMcGee has take put on a central defender.

:21:52. > :21:54.And Richard Johnson is with us next. He is watching Alloa at the

:21:55. > :22:04.championship. Any change? No. Still Falkirk, two,

:22:05. > :22:10.Alloa athletic nil. It is 2-0 to Falkirk.

:22:11. > :22:18.Thank you, Richard. Now the other Scottish Cup final. Celtic versus

:22:19. > :22:24.Morton. Highlights of this on BBC One tomorrow night. If you don't

:22:25. > :22:30.mind, watch out for the spoiler, you can listen from 12.00pm.

:22:31. > :22:34.Keen to get your thoughts. But let's start by showing you what happened

:22:35. > :22:40.when the last time the two clubs met. Memorable for Morton. And a

:22:41. > :22:49.Scottish Cupper for Celtic. It was.

:22:50. > :22:54.That was a big, big result for Morton. I don't expect it to happen.

:22:55. > :23:05.happen in football! That much Celtic happen in football! That much Celtic

:23:06. > :23:09.-- that match, Celtic bombarded. By the way, something is about to

:23:10. > :23:13.come on your screen, I think there could be a win here.

:23:14. > :23:19.You are at the spoils again. Let's find out what is happening at

:23:20. > :23:23.Victoria Park. Martin Dowden is on the spot.

:23:24. > :23:28.It is absolutely extraordinary! Ross County, two, Dundee United, three.

:23:29. > :23:34.The ten men have clinched it. It looks like they have a ball in from

:23:35. > :23:38.the right. Billy McKay stole in, glancing it into the back of the

:23:39. > :23:44.net. The Dundee United fans are going crazy. It is United ahead with

:23:45. > :23:49.a minute to go! So, we will close that one out now! Don't say that at

:23:50. > :23:55.the moment. They are down to ten men. They were 2-1 down and down to

:23:56. > :23:58.ten men. Watching that, it did not look as though they chucked it or

:23:59. > :24:03.lost belief. This is Dundee United we are talking about. The Dundee

:24:04. > :24:09.United that we were looking at lest than a month ago, looking beyond

:24:10. > :24:13.hopeless. Boy, were they up for it. So far, they have deserved this.

:24:14. > :24:19.As Pat said, anything can happen in football. Pat is not really

:24:20. > :24:23.entertaining the possibility of Morton beating Celtic? It can

:24:24. > :24:27.happen, of course but let's have a look at the current situation. It is

:24:28. > :24:34.the championship, team, that is playing a team at the top of its

:24:35. > :24:42.league. At home, at Celtic Park! I know what happens... This season is

:24:43. > :24:48.not a good one for them. Against, Morton, against Hibs, 3-0,

:24:49. > :24:54.not so long ago. Morton have lost one game away from

:24:55. > :25:01.home in ten. So even with that, I still think that Celtic will win. I

:25:02. > :25:05.love their manager, he is a traditional manager, the mortan

:25:06. > :25:09.manager. He is no frills. He is well organised. He will be thinking of

:25:10. > :25:14.what Celtic have done. Celtic have not played well. Will he be brave

:25:15. > :25:18.enough to play with two up front or one off? You can carry on talking

:25:19. > :25:24.about that. We have the full-time report from Richard Wilson. He was

:25:25. > :25:29.watching Falkirk Alloa. Falkirk are above Hibs to second

:25:30. > :25:36.place in the championship. The victory was not in doubt after the

:25:37. > :25:39.Watson header in the first half. The Alloa goalkeeper was responsible for

:25:40. > :25:48.keeping the numbers down, making a series of saves.

:25:49. > :25:51.Kerr scoring before half-time. A professional display, Falkirk are up

:25:52. > :25:56.in the championship. What an achievement.

:25:57. > :25:59.Pat, they are going about their business unassumingly, Falkirk, no

:26:00. > :26:04.fanfare? Exactly. The home record has been good. But they have been

:26:05. > :26:10.playing nice football. I say that for a reason, it is sometimes hard

:26:11. > :26:15.in the synthetics offices to do a certain type of play, they do it

:26:16. > :26:25.well. I'm impressed They have sustained it over the last couple of

:26:26. > :26:29.years. They have built on that. And we admire them. They deserve to

:26:30. > :26:38.be where they are. Up, challenging for the second place.

:26:39. > :26:41.And aloa, the part time side -- and Alloa, the part time side, it has

:26:42. > :26:47.been a tough one for them. It is tough. He is a young manager.

:26:48. > :26:57.He is to learn. The first job you get, you hope it is not the last.

:26:58. > :27:01.50% of the first time managers in England never get a job again.

:27:02. > :27:05.That should not happen. I hope that they stay with them, if

:27:06. > :27:15.they go down. Are they a League One club? It was

:27:16. > :27:20.Paul Hartley that brought them up. A good base in there, if police move

:27:21. > :27:26.on to higher clubs, they will do. And I have to squeeze in this one,

:27:27. > :27:30.surely the first time a kit man has been sent off the kit man at

:27:31. > :27:40.Hamilton Accies, sent to the stand. They do a good job! Who was it that

:27:41. > :27:49.took a penalty? Hoult moult? He did his job! And the goalkeepers were

:27:50. > :28:04.always like that, you goal keepers... Full-time at Dingwall.

:28:05. > :28:09.Back to hear from Martin. A big win there for Dundee United? What a

:28:10. > :28:20.game. Ross County two, Dundee United, three.

:28:21. > :28:25.They came from 2-1 down. Boyce put County ahead. They did not take

:28:26. > :28:31.advantage of a glorious chance. There was a deflection to equalise,

:28:32. > :28:36.and then a player ordered off, Brian Graham was caught in the box.

:28:37. > :28:43.Slammed a spot kick home. But a ball into the box found its way to the

:28:44. > :28:48.back post. A brilliant afternoon for them by slotting it home.

:28:49. > :28:55.It got better for them after that. In the closing stages, it was

:28:56. > :29:00.frenetic. Both sides going for it. Amazingly United won it. McKay stole

:29:01. > :29:04.into the box, he could not have missed it with the header. They are

:29:05. > :29:10.celebrating like they haven't for a long, long time. What a boost for

:29:11. > :29:17.this club. The manner in which they achieved it will go with them for a

:29:18. > :29:24.long way. And let's find out who is celebrating at New Douglas Park. Not

:29:25. > :29:27.John Barnes, the voice of objectivity itself.

:29:28. > :29:38.And the branding rights to Motherwell. Hamilton Accies, nil,

:29:39. > :29:40.Motherwell one, it was Laing's goal. The man signed from Nottingham

:29:41. > :29:44.Forest who thought about quitting the game earlier as he was out of

:29:45. > :29:50.the picture to Motherwell. Well, he secured the win.

:29:51. > :29:55.It came in the 45th minute. A corner swung into the back post. Moult

:29:56. > :30:01.moult with the header. It swung to the path of Laing, he blasted it in.

:30:02. > :30:08.Before that, the Accies House of Representatives the post. And

:30:09. > :30:13.Johnson also hit the left-hand post of the goalkeeper. In the second

:30:14. > :30:18.half, the controversy, nine minutes from the end, Hoult Hoult with a

:30:19. > :30:23.penalty after McGovern pulled down a player in the area. But then making

:30:24. > :30:29.amends by denying moult moult the spot kick.

:30:30. > :30:38.And time is up at Tynecastle. And time is up at Tynecastle.

:30:39. > :30:45.-- Moult. A week here at Tynecastle, rounding

:30:46. > :30:56.off a perfect seven days for Robbie Neilson's side. A stunning header

:30:57. > :31:02.from Zjoum. A.

:31:03. > :31:10.There was a close second for the homeside. It was blasted over when

:31:11. > :31:16.it should have found the target. There was a plane that flew over the

:31:17. > :31:20.ground saying Neilson out, that is well gone.

:31:21. > :31:26.And now to hear from Conni McLoughlin.

:31:27. > :31:32.Braise yourself. Raith Rovers, four, St Mirren, three. A deserved win for

:31:33. > :31:36.the homeside. A hat-trick for Hardie. He opened the scoring after

:31:37. > :31:44.three minutes. The ball played through the mid. Hardie picked it

:31:45. > :31:49.up, the St Mirren defence sleeping. Mark Stuart doubled the lead.

:31:50. > :31:56.Connolly had the shot blocked but Stuart picked it up to power it into

:31:57. > :32:04.the back of the net. Before the half-time, the Saints had given

:32:05. > :32:14.themselves a life line with a corner from Watson. And then a ball on the

:32:15. > :32:20.edge of the box by Clarkson. Then hardie got a hat-trick, he

:32:21. > :32:28.managed to pull the ball from a tight angle over Jamie Langfield.

:32:29. > :32:34.Clarkson pulled the other one back. Watson got the nerves jangling by

:32:35. > :32:35.giving them a third. A seven-goal thriller but the points staying in

:32:36. > :32:41.Kirkcaldy. Let's find out what happened in

:32:42. > :32:48.Livingston against Dumbarton. Let's find out what happened in

:32:49. > :32:53.Charlie Mann. Not as much drama here. Not the greatest game, but it

:32:54. > :32:56.was very important for Livingston, because it is a big victory, a sixth

:32:57. > :33:01.league win of the season for them, and it moves them a little bit

:33:02. > :33:05.closer to Dumbarton and maybe just out of the play-off position,

:33:06. > :33:09.because they are desperate to stay in the Championship. Far from a

:33:10. > :33:15.great game, the goal is typical of that. 29 minutes, Liam Buchanan's

:33:16. > :33:22.11th of the season but Livingston in front. In Livingston. A mess in the

:33:23. > :33:29.Dumbarton defence. Second half, much of the same. Jordan White at 84

:33:30. > :33:33.minutes sealed up the points. He got it under control eventually and just

:33:34. > :33:37.rolled it into the back of the net underneath the goalkeeper. As I say,

:33:38. > :33:42.not the best game you will ever see, but an important win for Livingston

:33:43. > :33:48.all the same. Important for Livingston, huge for Dundee United.

:33:49. > :33:53.It's incredible. We have watched the whole game here. Two weeks in a row,

:33:54. > :33:59.they have scored three at Victoria Park. They're fighting quality was

:34:00. > :34:05.magnificent. Down to ten men... This has all happened since the chairman

:34:06. > :34:12.lambasted them. John Rankin came out. I accepted from the player, not

:34:13. > :34:19.really from the chairman. Whether it has had the desired effect... I am

:34:20. > :34:23.OK with the chairman saying it. I wouldn't have done that, but it is

:34:24. > :34:28.the nuclear option. If you have done everything, try the weirdest thing.

:34:29. > :34:34.And it was the strangest thing. I think it is more got to do with the

:34:35. > :34:39.manager, let's be fair. Of course, but I like the likes of John Rankin

:34:40. > :34:43.saying, come on, we need to put that effort in. When it comes to a player

:34:44. > :34:48.of that experience in the dressing room, I am glad the players have

:34:49. > :34:52.stepped up. The first goal was a bad one that they lost, it wasn't great,

:34:53. > :34:56.and you would expect them to drop off, as we have seen in the past.

:34:57. > :35:03.Today, they responded when the sending off and. Two comeback in

:35:04. > :35:08.that game in cup, fantastic. You can gather your thoughts in a second --

:35:09. > :35:32.for a second while I run through the classified results.

:35:33. > :38:52.Hibernian against Inverness cambered -- Inverness

:38:53. > :38:56.Hearts winning at home against Partick Thistle takes them to within

:38:57. > :39:02.six points of second placed Aberdeen. Motherwell's win over

:39:03. > :41:00.Hamilton lifts them to the cusp of the top six.

:41:01. > :41:06.I tantalised you with a mention of the London derby today, Tottenham

:41:07. > :41:12.against Arsenal in the Premier League down south. Let's get more

:41:13. > :41:15.details from Guy Mowbray. A north London derby with everything except

:41:16. > :41:22.a winner, and it exploded after half-time. Arsenal were 1-0 up by

:41:23. > :41:26.them, Aaron Ramsey back feeling in. But their world fell apart when

:41:27. > :41:31.Francis Coquelin was rightly sent off for a second yellow card ten

:41:32. > :41:37.minutes into the second half. Five minutes later, Toby Alderweireld

:41:38. > :41:39.fired home. Two minutes later, thinking -- a magnificent strike

:41:40. > :41:43.fired home. Two minutes later, from Harry Kane put them in front.

:41:44. > :41:47.Spurs should have won it, but the Gunners showed the heart and desire

:41:48. > :41:53.which has been questioned recently by coming back to equalise through

:41:54. > :41:59.Alexis Sanchez, another fine finish. Tottenham Hotspur 2, Arsenal 2. Four

:42:00. > :42:06.goal is to separate Man City and Aston Villa. - gas skill can tell us

:42:07. > :42:12.about it. A miserable defeat for Villa. A routine one for Manchester

:42:13. > :42:17.City. It took 48 minutes for the floodgates to swing open. It only

:42:18. > :42:24.took another 21 minutes for City to wrap up four. Kolo Toure, Aguero and

:42:25. > :42:30.Stirling shattering Villa's confidence and defence. Manuel

:42:31. > :42:33.Pellegrini said that City need to win nine of their remaining games to

:42:34. > :42:38.win the title. The first one has been ticked off without breaking

:42:39. > :42:45.sweat. Everton were at home against West Ham. Damien Johnson. Terrific,

:42:46. > :42:50.incident packed advert for the Premier League. Everton raced into a

:42:51. > :42:59.2-goal lead, despite having Kevin Mirallas sent off. Two foolish

:43:00. > :43:01.yellow cards. It could have been 3-0 if there wasn't a penalty saved.

:43:02. > :43:07.That signalled a dramatic turnaround. Michail Antonio and

:43:08. > :43:11.Diafra Sakho brought the Hammers level with headers. There were

:43:12. > :43:16.strong appeals for penalties at both ends, but Payette popped up to win

:43:17. > :43:21.it for West Ham and keep them on track for the Champions League.

:43:22. > :43:27.Let's find out more on Chelsea against Stoke City. Chelsea's

:43:28. > :43:33.unbeaten run continues, but you would think Guus Hiddink will be

:43:34. > :43:41.frustrated. Stoke got the point they probably deserved due to a late

:43:42. > :43:45.header. Chelsea rested Diego Costa ahead of Wednesday's Champions

:43:46. > :43:50.League gate. Bertrand Traore was asked to leave the line and what a

:43:51. > :43:54.goal he scored, a sizzling left foot which was still rising as it was

:43:55. > :44:02.slammed into the net. A clutch of fine saves. Both teams remain on the

:44:03. > :44:05.fringe of Europe, perhaps. An intriguing match at Saint Mary 's,

:44:06. > :44:10.where Sunderland are on course for three points until a late Virgil van

:44:11. > :44:14.Dijk goal for Southampton cost them all three points. Second away until,

:44:15. > :44:19.Dijk goal for Southampton cost them as you say, that outstanding strike

:44:20. > :44:24.by Virgil van Dijk. Until then, the heroes were Jermain Defoe, coming

:44:25. > :44:27.off the bench, and Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone. Outstanding

:44:28. > :44:32.saves throughout the match to keep his team in it. Irony of ironies,

:44:33. > :44:37.Sunderland have just gone five at the back. John O'Shea came on, find

:44:38. > :44:44.at the back, defending, but they were beaten by a defender. Norwich

:44:45. > :44:49.are certainly right in the middle of the relegation battle. They were

:44:50. > :44:54.away at Swansea. Mark Webber is there. Swansea 1, Norwich zero. At

:44:55. > :45:01.the other side, they flocked from the east. After today, they will be

:45:02. > :45:08.looking at directions to Leeds and Cardiff in the Championship. Norwich

:45:09. > :45:13.fought for every ball. In the 61st minute, Swansea's Mr reliable

:45:14. > :45:18.Sigurdsson found his shooting boots. That was the goal which clipped the

:45:19. > :45:22.Canaries' wins. Redmond had a chance to equalise and he fluffed it.

:45:23. > :45:27.Typical of their lack of prowess in front of goal. As a result it

:45:28. > :45:33.finished with a win for Swansea. Wood the final match report from the

:45:34. > :45:40.Premiership comes from Newcastle against Bournemouth.

:45:41. > :45:44.Newcastle united 1, Bournemouth 3, and Bournemouth deserved it.

:45:45. > :45:49.Newcastle were not good enough, going behind to a Taylor own goal.

:45:50. > :45:57.Joshua King, he doubled the lead in the second. Pera Gutierrez gave

:45:58. > :46:01.Newcastle a goal, but Daniels took them forward. There are 11 points

:46:02. > :46:09.clear of the relegation zone, a huge step towards survival. As the band

:46:10. > :46:12.-- as the fans continued to boom and applaud, mixed feelings at St James'

:46:13. > :46:17.Park. They feel the players put the effort him but they are not happy

:46:18. > :46:24.with Steve McLaren. Is this the end of road for him? Newcastle second

:46:25. > :46:28.from bottom, in big trouble. She posed the question, is this the end

:46:29. > :46:34.of the road for Steve McLaren? Had it been a different performance,

:46:35. > :46:40.yes, but there was a bit of fight. The result sounds terrible but they

:46:41. > :46:47.were pushing forward. What will make late for them is if Sunderland get

:46:48. > :46:51.away. Three go down. 1- -- one of them is Sunderland, Norwich,

:46:52. > :46:57.Newcastle. If Sunderland get free, there is no way the manager at

:46:58. > :47:01.Newcastle will stay. You have got Sam Allardyce, Steve McLaren and

:47:02. > :47:06.Alex Neil, a young manager. He has done well. Scottish, I know, but he

:47:07. > :47:20.is young. That experience could be vital. That Norwich game, 1-0,...

:47:21. > :47:27.5-4 against Liverpool. The luckiest against you. It absolutely has been

:47:28. > :47:31.against them. At the other end, Tottenham against Arsenal sounds

:47:32. > :47:33.almost as exciting as Ross County against Dundee United, but the

:47:34. > :47:39.winners from that our Leicester City. They are away to Watford

:47:40. > :47:47.tonight. If they win that... Seat what is it, nine games left? They

:47:48. > :47:50.must be nearly clear. It is an extraordinary thing. They were

:47:51. > :47:56.dreaming of that one being a draw. West Ham are sneaking out on the

:47:57. > :48:01.outside at the moment. To get that result today, West Ham, they were

:48:02. > :48:06.2-0 down. Let's talk briefly about Leicester. It would be fantastic to

:48:07. > :48:10.see them win it for many reasons, because they play 4-4-2, because

:48:11. > :48:15.nobody gave them a chance. The guys in the middle of the pitch, they

:48:16. > :48:20.normally play against three players, and their workrate is exceptional.

:48:21. > :48:26.Fantastic performance. It would be a surprise if the Foxes

:48:27. > :48:32.won the league. Pat Nevin is bringing West Ham United into the

:48:33. > :48:36.race! Not to win the league. Payette, he would have won Player of

:48:37. > :48:40.the Year. They have three or four players who are top quality. They

:48:41. > :48:45.are a bit like Falkirk. Nobody has been noticing them for a period.

:48:46. > :48:48.They have sneaked up. They are in that desperate they are in there and

:48:49. > :48:55.battling for a chance of the top four. They are in with a chance of a

:48:56. > :48:59.top four place. Dundee United are definitely in the last four of the

:49:00. > :49:08.Scottish Cup thanks to their 3-2 win to Ross County. We can meet one of

:49:09. > :49:17.the happiest men in Scotland today. Congratulations. Talk us through

:49:18. > :49:22.your emotions. Absolutely exhausted, but happy with our players. Going

:49:23. > :49:27.down to ten men, the fighting spirit, being a man down, was

:49:28. > :49:32.fantastic. They never die attitude, tremendous. Even though we were a

:49:33. > :49:40.man short, we wanted to have an attacking threat. We went with 3-3-

:49:41. > :49:46.three and it worked. It was unbelievable. Did you fear the worst

:49:47. > :49:53.when the red card was out and the penalty was scored? I was gutted.

:49:54. > :49:58.Prior to that, we had equalised. I felt we were well in the game. I

:49:59. > :50:05.thought we were by far the better team. When we had all the men on the

:50:06. > :50:10.pitch. The passing was good. The finishing was poor, but there will

:50:11. > :50:18.be better quality in finishing, we might have won it more comfortably.

:50:19. > :50:23.So exciting. The second half was quite something. Ross County are a

:50:24. > :50:29.good team, very good, individually. They can take players on, they've

:50:30. > :50:33.got power. They shifted our players, it was tremendous. If you work

:50:34. > :50:37.harder than the opponent, and a bit of luck as well, and some situations

:50:38. > :50:43.where the ball bounces for you, and today we had it.

:50:44. > :50:50.Interesting, Pat, you said that the finishing was poor? I will look at

:50:51. > :50:54.that tonight. The finish in the first half was hilariously bad, that

:50:55. > :51:00.was ridiculous. To do the with the pitch. But in the second half, what

:51:01. > :51:07.he said there that was interesting, is that they did something really

:51:08. > :51:12.unusual, the 3-3-3. Don't take it personally, mostly

:51:13. > :51:19.they go to 4-41 or a variation of it. But no. The really positive

:51:20. > :51:24.managers, when you are down, go for a 3-3-3 and it worked.

:51:25. > :51:29.They have to pick themselves up for next week and the League Cup final?

:51:30. > :51:34.Jim will have to do a big job. But they are going to the cup final, no

:51:35. > :51:39.better way of picking them up. They are going to Hampden. They deserve

:51:40. > :51:43.to be there. He doesn't have to do too much work. They will enjoy it.

:51:44. > :51:49.Park this one and move on. They are in the league, they have work to do.

:51:50. > :51:52.But the cup final coming up. The Premiership matches, wins for

:51:53. > :51:58.Motherwell and Hamilton something that they have not don for a long

:51:59. > :52:03.while? Obviously they missed a penalty, that made a difference. But

:52:04. > :52:10.Motherwell disserved it. It is a big one as well. Hamilton have been up

:52:11. > :52:15.and down. Going for little runs. I think Motherwell would have been
