:00:18. > :00:51.and that my friends was the story of the Premiership season so far. It's

:00:52. > :00:55.only seven days old. Welcome once again to the results show. Unlike

:00:56. > :00:59.the Olympics you don't have to wait four years for a Super Saturday, we

:01:00. > :01:10.have one every week. On the pundits podium today Gemma Fay, Craig

:01:11. > :01:13.Paterson and Tom English. And making up team Sportscene, our reporters

:01:14. > :01:15.around the country - including Rob Maclean who was watching today's

:01:16. > :01:20.early game - Dundee versus Rangers at Dens Park. Rangers dominated at

:01:21. > :01:24.dens Park for 45 minutes and should have had the game home and hosed at

:01:25. > :01:27.half-time but it ended up with Mark Warburton's team running down the

:01:28. > :01:30.clock and clinging onto all three points. It looked like they would

:01:31. > :01:35.win by a distance when they went two goals ahead. Harry Forrester

:01:36. > :01:40.Hulkster shot into the top corner after Dundee failed to clear and

:01:41. > :01:46.Kenny Miller's second goal as the home team were overwhelmed. Miller

:01:47. > :01:50.should have had a hat-trick guides denied by the keeper. The game

:01:51. > :01:58.changed at the interval as Rangers' defensive deficiencies came back to

:01:59. > :02:00.haunt them. Paul Hartley's team were a much more competitive team in the

:02:01. > :02:04.second-half and Williams had a chance to square the game. Rangers

:02:05. > :02:08.looked panicky in defence in a game where they should have been cruising

:02:09. > :02:13.they looked uncomfortable. Dundee man is attacking pair Stuart and

:02:14. > :02:15.Hemmings lacked the quality to create enough opportunities. Rangers

:02:16. > :02:21.were happy to hear the final whistle. 2-1 winners.

:02:22. > :02:27.Rangers' first win of the Premiership season. Rob said Rangers

:02:28. > :02:30.were happy to hear the final whistle. In the first half Rangers

:02:31. > :02:38.looked comfortable and dominated. Miller had opportunities to extend

:02:39. > :02:41.the lead. Dundee reorganised a bit. Particularly at set pieces. If I

:02:42. > :02:46.Mark Warburton unconcerned at the way Rangers are losing goals at set

:02:47. > :02:48.pieces. I imagine you will be too as a former central defender, Craig.

:02:49. > :02:54.Looked quite straightforward for Dundee. He's one of the first people

:02:55. > :02:58.you will mark and he gets a free header at the back post. It's a good

:02:59. > :03:03.header but Rangers from being in command, Miller takes one of the two

:03:04. > :03:10.chances. And gets it done. The Achilles' heel, that highball, meant

:03:11. > :03:15.it was a real contest and Dundee came back into it. Danny Williams's

:03:16. > :03:19.chance was the only one that came into it. Three points for Mark

:03:20. > :03:24.Warburton's side but he looks like a manager in need of a strike and a

:03:25. > :03:30.centre-half to give him options. I'm saving the controversy for you, you

:03:31. > :03:35.knew I would! Harry Forrester scored a goal but was lucky to stay on the

:03:36. > :03:43.field, was he not? I think he was. There was a real old ding-dong

:03:44. > :03:46.between himself and O'Dea Dunne his opponent. The final one he lunged

:03:47. > :03:52.into a tackle and should have walked but got away with it. Mark Warburton

:03:53. > :03:57.more or less admitted post he said maybe he should have been red

:03:58. > :04:03.carded. Maybe should have been sent off, manager speak, you've got to

:04:04. > :04:07.look at that. Looking at the first yellow card he got, well, the yellow

:04:08. > :04:12.card, I'm not convinced it was a yellow card. There was a real edge

:04:13. > :04:16.to the battle between those guys. This debate will continue on the

:04:17. > :04:19.highlights show tomorrow night. There is no coincidence he was

:04:20. > :04:24.substituted shortly afterwards although Mark Warburton said he

:04:25. > :04:27.would come off anyway. When you are booked and go into a challenge wide

:04:28. > :04:31.left and the referee gives you the benefit of the doubt that is fine

:04:32. > :04:36.but then he does a professional one and he cannot go into another

:04:37. > :04:39.challenge, and he flew into him and he was very lucky and the manager

:04:40. > :04:43.must have decided whatever has gone on between the players Harry

:04:44. > :04:47.Forrester will get himself sent off. He played well in the first half and

:04:48. > :04:51.Rangers do not want to lose him, and management taking him off

:04:52. > :04:55.straightaway. It's a good three points for Rangers in fairness to

:04:56. > :04:59.them. They will sign a new centre-half, Warburton is on the

:05:00. > :05:04.record he will get one and he needs one. For Paul Hartley it is such a

:05:05. > :05:08.heartbreaker for him. Last season they conceded the most goals in the

:05:09. > :05:13.top nine but they can compensate for that because they have Hemmings and

:05:14. > :05:17.Stewart. Between them those two guys scored 57% of Dundee's goals in the

:05:18. > :05:21.league last season and now they have gone. How does the manager replace

:05:22. > :05:25.those? We will hear from Paul Hartley later in the show but now we

:05:26. > :05:29.can hear from reporters the length and breadth of the country. Our

:05:30. > :05:33.first step starts around Pittodrie where Aberdeen are at home to Hearts

:05:34. > :05:38.and good afternoon to Scott Davie. Good afternoon, it is 3-1 to Hearts

:05:39. > :05:41.in terms of bookings in another bruising battle between the teams

:05:42. > :05:45.that finished second and third last season but unfortunately there have

:05:46. > :05:49.been very few clear-cut chances as yet in this game, which is why at

:05:50. > :05:54.the moment just a minute or two into the second half it is Aberdeen 0-0

:05:55. > :05:58.Hearts. Over to Inverness where Caley

:05:59. > :06:01.Thistle at home to Ross County in the Highland derby.

:06:02. > :06:06.Your timing is absolutely perfect. It is a hat-trick for Liam Boyce.

:06:07. > :06:12.Ross County 3-1 ahead. The ball into the box, he climbed superbly, nodded

:06:13. > :06:16.it into the corner. He had scored two first half goals, one early on,

:06:17. > :06:20.header into the corner similar to that one. His second goal was a

:06:21. > :06:25.brilliant touch, took it down, created space, fired it past

:06:26. > :06:28.Williams in goal. Inverness got one back just before half-time but

:06:29. > :06:32.bizarre circumstances. It appears the referee blew his whistle before

:06:33. > :06:40.it hit the net. It was Andrew Davies that scored it. The ball was coming

:06:41. > :06:46.back and hit Davies but controversy as County believe the whistle had

:06:47. > :06:50.gone before the goal was scored. We are off to Fir Park and John

:06:51. > :06:55.Barnes has a story for us and a goal between Motherwell and St Johnstone.

:06:56. > :06:59.Yes, we have, David, goal for Motherwell early in the second-half

:07:00. > :07:06.scored by Chris cant for the home side. Richard Tait got to the byline

:07:07. > :07:11.and tried to cut it back and it took a deflection and alluded Alan Mannus

:07:12. > :07:16.and it dropped to the back post and it was slotted away after a goalless

:07:17. > :07:21.first 45 minutes. Motherwell lead 1-0.

:07:22. > :07:25.Overton New Douglas Park were Hamilton are at home to Kilmarnock.

:07:26. > :07:39.Over to Alistair Mann Lamont. Hamilton leading 1-0. The first goal

:07:40. > :07:45.came when Longridge picked up and they love powerful shot was put past

:07:46. > :07:49.the keeper. Kilis trying to get back into it.

:07:50. > :07:55.Dropping into the Championship we will start in Dumbarton. Over to

:07:56. > :08:03.Kenny Crawford. After 49 minutes 0-0. Possession not

:08:04. > :08:06.a problem for Dundee United, but turning the dominance into

:08:07. > :08:10.goal-scoring opportunities has puzzled the Tangerines. The longer

:08:11. > :08:12.that goes by the more Dumbarton are creeping into this. Robert Thompson

:08:13. > :08:19.and Ryan Stevenson had great chances a moment ago to get that goal.

:08:20. > :08:22.Let's head to Easter Road, Hibs are at home to Dunfermline this

:08:23. > :08:35.afternoon. Let's welcome Ryan McLaughlin. The only goal has come

:08:36. > :08:40.from the head of the Dunfermline centre-half Ben Richards-Everton and

:08:41. > :08:43.he steered it into the corner. Morton are at home to Falkirk this

:08:44. > :08:48.afternoon. It's been a great week for Morton

:08:49. > :08:53.after a terrific Dunne terrific League Cup victory. Things looking

:08:54. > :09:03.terrific for them, Lee Kilday profited from a real clanger from

:09:04. > :09:08.the stand-in goalkeeper Mehmet. Lots to talk about. We will start at

:09:09. > :09:17.the highest scoring match of the afternoon, Inverness. Caley Thistle

:09:18. > :09:23.3-1 down. He has a hat-trick. He makes a habit of that. He does. Ross

:09:24. > :09:27.County haven't beaten Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the last

:09:28. > :09:34.eight. They have come out and Ross County have been phenomenal, we were

:09:35. > :09:40.watching it in the studio. Do you think this is the biggest match of

:09:41. > :09:46.the season for them? It is a huge thing and they are dominating it.

:09:47. > :09:52.Liam Boyce came out of the traps last season so fast, 11 in his first

:09:53. > :09:59.12 league matches. He is a priceless asset. A guy who can regularly find

:10:00. > :10:03.the net, worth his weight in gold. He was the leading scorer for the

:10:04. > :10:08.last two seasons and it is having a devastating effect on Inverness.

:10:09. > :10:12.Motherwell 1-0 up on St Johnstone. Pictures coming in. Deserving of the

:10:13. > :10:15.lead? Hard to tell, you are only seeing bits and pieces but important

:10:16. > :10:23.to get the goal and give themselves something to defend. It looked like

:10:24. > :10:26.Motherwell against Celtic, being opened up again and again. Getting

:10:27. > :10:33.the goal gives themselves something to defend. Saint Johnstone are

:10:34. > :10:36.dependable. If Motherwell could get another three points on the board

:10:37. > :10:40.this early it would be a great start. Great Dove for Sam Johnstone,

:10:41. > :10:45.your team, Gemma. How does it look from your point of view -- great

:10:46. > :10:49.start for St Johnstone. It would be great to watch for a neutral. It has

:10:50. > :10:53.been even in the first half here. They're living in our favour, three

:10:54. > :10:58.of the last four games against Motherwell we have won 2-1 after

:10:59. > :11:03.being 1-0 down. They are setting us up for a 2-1 victory. The goals from

:11:04. > :11:07.Pittodrie. Aberdeen - Hearts. We had a half

:11:08. > :11:11.chance two minutes ago for Tony Watt as he burst clear, got away from Ash

:11:12. > :11:17.Taylor but wonderful recovery challenge by Anthony O'Connor. It is

:11:18. > :11:21.now 4-24 Hearts in terms of bookings. Hearts have their fourth

:11:22. > :11:29.booking just as I speak because of a sliding challenge giving Aberdeen a

:11:30. > :11:35.free kick about 20 yards from goal. Arnaud Sutchuin Djoum increased the

:11:36. > :11:39.crime count. Hearts were pressed back for long spells in the first

:11:40. > :11:46.45. The young central defender has compensated for the dropping of his

:11:47. > :11:54.team-mate in the cup defeat in midweek. Sam Nicholson's free kick

:11:55. > :11:57.in the first half was headed just wide by John Souttar. Aberdeen and

:11:58. > :12:01.much more in the early stages of the season matching up physically with

:12:02. > :12:06.Hearts. They were bullied at times last season and found it difficult

:12:07. > :12:10.to cope. They very nearly coped well because the good work at one end,

:12:11. > :12:17.sliding in and very nearly getting in with a sliding kick at the back

:12:18. > :12:22.post. O'Connor, having made contact, had he made better contact he might

:12:23. > :12:24.have broken the deadlock but it is still 0-0.

:12:25. > :12:28.The deadlock has well and truly been broken at Dumbarton. Over to Kenny

:12:29. > :12:34.Crawford. 54 minutes gone and it's not gone

:12:35. > :12:37.the way many would expect. Dumbarton 1-0 Dundee United and the goal came

:12:38. > :12:41.from the penalty spot. Mark Doherty, with his third penalty of the

:12:42. > :12:45.season, he scored two against Dunfermline last weekend and he has

:12:46. > :12:50.another one. The way the penalty came about was strange. Lots of

:12:51. > :12:54.jostling in the box -- Mark Docherty. The referee spotted a push

:12:55. > :12:57.somewhere. Cammy Bell, the goalkeeper, got booked in protest.

:12:58. > :13:03.It wasn't clear what the penalty was full but Tambe stepped up and put it

:13:04. > :13:08.in the top corner. We have a goal at Easter Road.

:13:09. > :13:15.It has gone the way of the Fife club against the run of play. An

:13:16. > :13:20.equaliser has come, lovely 1-2 with Joe Cardle. Played the ball inside,

:13:21. > :13:25.cool finish from Riley, put it onto his right foot and drilled it under

:13:26. > :13:32.the body of the keeper. It is now 1-1.

:13:33. > :13:35.Thank you, Brian. Back to the Premiership and back to Inverness

:13:36. > :13:41.Caledonian Thistle against Ross County. Let's hear from Ross Martin.

:13:42. > :13:45.Liam Boyce back to his best with a hat-trick in what has been a very

:13:46. > :13:50.impressive county performance. Craig Curran's cross from the left lead to

:13:51. > :13:53.the open. Liam Boyce was all alone six yards out and nodded it simply

:13:54. > :13:59.into the corner. Question marks over the defending and perhaps over the

:14:00. > :14:02.second. Kevin McNaughton had just hobbled off injured, clearly unable

:14:03. > :14:06.to continue. They didn't get approach, replacement on before a

:14:07. > :14:11.ball was sent into the box and Liam Boyce took a fantastic first touch,

:14:12. > :14:15.given the space to fire and unstoppable low drive home. That was

:14:16. > :14:19.his second. Woods fired over. Fon Williams carried the ball out of the

:14:20. > :14:24.box and he was booked but play was allowed to go on and county had the

:14:25. > :14:28.advantage. They couldn't take it. Before half-time a bizarre goal for

:14:29. > :14:35.the home side to get back into it, Andrew Davies credited with the home

:14:36. > :14:38.-- own goal. The referee Andrew Davies appeared to chop it off,

:14:39. > :14:41.county players were furious, the referee didn't blow his whistle

:14:42. > :14:50.before the ball hits the net, that is why county were furious. The only

:14:51. > :14:58.reason he might have chopped it off was Scott Boden offside. County in

:14:59. > :15:03.control here. We have another goal and it is at

:15:04. > :15:06.Fir Park. Is it for Motherwell or St Johnstone?

:15:07. > :15:11.It is for St Johnstone, they are back on level terms in the 56th

:15:12. > :15:14.minute, and who else but Danny Swanson, the man on a form for the

:15:15. > :15:18.Perth club, claiming his sixth goal of the season just after Chris Cas

:15:19. > :15:23.De Liberte Motherwell in front at the start of the second half.

:15:24. > :15:27.Swanson has levelled it up. He picked up the ball on the edge of

:15:28. > :15:30.the 18-yard box, drove inside and got beyond the full-back and turned

:15:31. > :15:35.on his left foot, from the angle of the edge of the six yard box and

:15:36. > :15:41.knocked it through the legs of Craig Samson to pull them level. Samson

:15:42. > :15:49.made a good save from a Chris Millar shot. Maclean had a shot that went

:15:50. > :15:59.wide. Motherwell, although they came at a lively at the second period,

:16:00. > :16:03.Christopher Cadden was switched. He was at the back post to knock on the

:16:04. > :16:09.cross from Richard Tait. Motherwell got the opener. Danny Swanson, six

:16:10. > :16:15.goals from six starts and a substitute appearance, not bad.

:16:16. > :16:19.Yes, you were punching the air with delight there. He's changed his

:16:20. > :16:24.training regime and diet and it seems to be bearing fruit. A whole

:16:25. > :16:28.bowl of fruit. Keep it going. Fantastic finish, to get inside on

:16:29. > :16:32.his left foot and curled it in. It is the kick-start St Johnstone

:16:33. > :16:36.needed. Some of the passes played, Miller shooting over with his left

:16:37. > :16:40.foot as well. It's an interesting game we have now. Third versus

:16:41. > :16:47.fourth from last year. -- Millar. Looks like they are on track for

:16:48. > :16:51.that again this year. Let's hear from New Douglas Park. Watching

:16:52. > :16:53.pictures here Hamilton looked to be on top.

:16:54. > :16:57.No more goals to report since I last spoke to you but Hamilton Academical

:16:58. > :17:04.is coming close and moment of two ago. The ball was crossed in and Ali

:17:05. > :17:09.Crawford got the volley away in loads of room but MacDonald pushed

:17:10. > :17:13.it away. May be just too close to the goalkeeper but Hamilton pushing

:17:14. > :17:16.for a second. There has been nothing from Kilmarnock in the second half.

:17:17. > :17:21.In fact they should have been ahead in just seven minutes when the man

:17:22. > :17:25.you would normally rely on to score from close range Chris Boyd scooped

:17:26. > :17:34.the ball over the bar. Since then Hamilton Accies have had the

:17:35. > :17:38.backhand. They went ahead when Greg Docherty played the ball in.

:17:39. > :17:42.Hamilton Accies pressing for the second goal which would just about

:17:43. > :17:48.kill the game off and give Kilmarnock their first defeat since

:17:49. > :17:52.2010. Time to hear from Andy Burke, if you recall he's watching the

:17:53. > :17:56.Championship match between Morton and Falkirk. Any change in the

:17:57. > :18:01.scoreline? No change, Morton leading 1-0. I

:18:02. > :18:04.should mention this match almost didn't go ahead for the rather

:18:05. > :18:08.unusual reason of a dodgy PA system. The Town I was drugging and safety

:18:09. > :18:12.rules dictate and match cannot go ahead without a functioning tannoy

:18:13. > :18:19.system. Fortunately the issue was resolved, although Falkirk's

:18:20. > :18:27.stand-in keeper Tim Ferry may wish it hadn't been because his mistake

:18:28. > :18:30.presented Morton with the only goal so far. Falkirk have been

:18:31. > :18:33.disappointing at need to find something in the second half to

:18:34. > :18:37.avoid back-to-back defeats in the opening game of the season. Just a

:18:38. > :18:44.reminder, I will fill you in on other matches. Raith Rovers 3-0 up

:18:45. > :18:54.against St Mirren, good start to the match. Queen of the South 3-1 up on

:18:55. > :18:56.Ayr United. We spoke earlier about how not so long ago it would have

:18:57. > :19:01.been a Premiership match. Dunfermline were great, winner on

:19:02. > :19:04.the opening day of the season. They came up, they were impressive in the

:19:05. > :19:09.lower divisions, and can you cope with this kind of game, this was a

:19:10. > :19:13.big test at Easter Road, testing their metal. Hibs started well with

:19:14. > :19:16.a victory against Falkirk. Knocked out of the cup in midweek and I

:19:17. > :19:23.expected Hibs to be firing on all cylinders this afternoon. -- mettle.

:19:24. > :19:27.I didn't see a way back after they went down. If Dunfermline believe

:19:28. > :19:31.they can score the second goal they could come back. If they settle back

:19:32. > :19:36.into their shell and defend there is a good chance they will be beaten.

:19:37. > :19:39.No shortage of belief for Raith Rovers under Gary Locke. A good win

:19:40. > :19:44.at home to Ayr United last week and this week 3-0 up against St Mirren.

:19:45. > :19:49.Terrific start for Raith Rovers and Gary Locke. Disastrous start for St

:19:50. > :19:54.Mirren. He was very confident that he had assembled a decent squad this

:19:55. > :20:00.season, plenty of options up front. But it has gone pear shaped already.

:20:01. > :20:03.That is a sobering score so far. This is only the second game, come

:20:04. > :20:08.on! I know it's only the second game, fine, but with their ambition

:20:09. > :20:13.to get in the top four. If you get off to a slow start, looking at the

:20:14. > :20:16.trends over the years, teams who start slowly, it takes a while for

:20:17. > :20:21.them to get out of the rut they are in and by that point the manager is

:20:22. > :20:24.under pressure, the players are negative and it happens time and

:20:25. > :20:31.again and they will want to get out of the rut quickly. Is it too early

:20:32. > :20:37.to talk about Kilmarnock, the way they are down, looks like Hamilton

:20:38. > :20:41.are in the ascendancy, not looking great for them. It's not and Lee

:20:42. > :20:44.Clark came in at the end of last season and the Kilmarnock board were

:20:45. > :20:48.willing to give him time and he has had pre-season bringing in 12

:20:49. > :20:53.players in the close season. He brought in somebody today and he's

:20:54. > :20:57.playing. George Green, ?2 million rated youngster from Burnley. They

:20:58. > :21:01.are all under the age of 22. They have lost Josh Magennis,

:21:02. > :21:04.Higginbotham has gone, Kielty is not playing, buoyed started today but

:21:05. > :21:09.doesn't usually start. It is all very well bringing in young talent

:21:10. > :21:12.but you need to have the spine of a team that has experience to help

:21:13. > :21:17.young players coming on -- Boite. Time will tell but how much time

:21:18. > :21:20.will they give him to get out of it? Usually New Douglas Park is a happy

:21:21. > :21:23.hunting ground for Kilmarnock, not beaten in six times the last six

:21:24. > :21:29.times they have been there and Hamilton have won once in 15 games

:21:30. > :21:33.at home but the season he will be pretty happy with what has happened.

:21:34. > :21:36.Absolutely comedy performance last week and another good performance.

:21:37. > :21:43.If he can hold onto that when it is terrific. -- great performance. They

:21:44. > :21:46.are throwing players at the problem. I get that because the last three

:21:47. > :21:51.seasons they finished ninth, tenth and 11th and he had to do something

:21:52. > :21:54.radical. Maybe this is too radical. I promised we would hear from Paul

:21:55. > :21:59.Hartley, the Dundee manager, after their 2-1 defeat at home to Rangers

:22:00. > :22:04.this afternoon and I'm as good as my word. We can hear from him now.

:22:05. > :22:04.After the match he spoke to Jonathan Sutherland.

:22:05. > :22:25.Paul, had your chances in the second half, do you feel you could have

:22:26. > :22:28.taken something from the game? Possibly, second half we were good

:22:29. > :22:31.in terms of intensity, the quality was a bit better. First half wasn't

:22:32. > :22:33.as good in terms of keeping the ball but overall I was pleased, lots of

:22:34. > :22:36.encouraging signs. Mark O'Hara came from Kilmarnock and we thought he

:22:37. > :22:38.was a defender and seems he is a midfielder, Man of the Match today.

:22:39. > :22:41.Outstanding, 21 years of age, great prospect, he is not a defender, he

:22:42. > :22:43.is an attacking midfielder. Looking at what he did today, energy, great

:22:44. > :22:46.quality, gets his goal. I've set mark the target of ten goals this

:22:47. > :22:49.year from the middle of the park and if he keeps performing like that I'm

:22:50. > :22:51.sure he will hit the target. Hemmings and Stewart were always

:22:52. > :22:54.going to be hard to replace and obviously the scoreline went against

:22:55. > :22:56.you today, but reasons to be cheerful? Especially the second

:22:57. > :22:59.half, I was pleased in terms of some of our play. I think we can keep the

:23:00. > :23:04.ball better. It's always going to be a tough game against Rangers. I felt

:23:05. > :23:08.that we matched them today. Thank you for joining us. STUDIO:

:23:09. > :23:10.He's not too downhearted after that, is he?

:23:11. > :23:14.The big story for Dundee, the loss of Stuart this week after Hemmings,

:23:15. > :23:18.Jonathan Burke the question to him. You've got to try and replace guys

:23:19. > :23:23.and when you bring them in from places like Cowdenbeath etc that is

:23:24. > :23:26.maybe once-in-a-lifetime, two players that quality from the lower

:23:27. > :23:31.leagues, who scored goals, Paul Hartley cannot do that season after

:23:32. > :23:36.season. It is a tough job, 30 of the 53 goals they were responsible for,

:23:37. > :23:39.how do you replace that? Big teams do that by spending money on quality

:23:40. > :23:44.strikers who you know will score goals but Paul doesn't have that

:23:45. > :23:51.budget. He has to hope someday like Mark O'Hara moving into midfield

:23:52. > :23:56.will chip in with some goals. El-Bakhtaoui looked like he could

:23:57. > :23:59.add something to them. They only lost five home games last season and

:24:00. > :24:04.only the top three were better. Good result for Rangers. I went on the

:24:05. > :24:06.opening day of the season, decent second-half performance gives them

:24:07. > :24:10.something to build on. If I remember correctly, last season

:24:11. > :24:15.it was drawers that were their undoing. To go back to Hemmings and

:24:16. > :24:18.Stewart, but if you look at Hemmings, the amount of goals he got

:24:19. > :24:22.first of all, but the amount of games that he rescued a point from,

:24:23. > :24:25.games that he would have lost when he scored an equaliser, the game

:24:26. > :24:29.they were drawing when he scored the winner, it was about 16 or 17 league

:24:30. > :24:33.points on his own. I'm going to have to cut you off because there has

:24:34. > :24:40.been another goal in the Highlands. Is it for Inverness or Ross County?

:24:41. > :24:45.But again we have here, the ball was nodded just on the edge of the box,

:24:46. > :24:49.Ross Draper with a left footed low drive, confidently over the Borg

:24:50. > :24:55.again on, just when we thought it might peter out it is back on.

:24:56. > :24:58.STUDIO: More from the Highlands later on but now it is week one of

:24:59. > :25:02.the English Premier League season, it kicked off at lunchtime with

:25:03. > :25:06.newly promoted Hull City at home to the reigning champions Leicester

:25:07. > :25:11.City. How did the sequel to the Foxes' fairy tale start, we can find

:25:12. > :25:14.out from Guy Mowbray. The Premier League delivers with a

:25:15. > :25:19.remarkable first-day story as newly promoted Hull with only enough fit

:25:20. > :25:22.players to fill a team to beat the champions Leicester City. A largely

:25:23. > :25:28.uneventful first half closed with Hull taking the lead, Abel Hernandez

:25:29. > :25:31.and the and a went up together to acrobatically score after Kasper

:25:32. > :25:45.Schmeichel had full stretch saved from Curtis Davies. On replay the

:25:46. > :25:48.goal went to Adama Diomande. Hull came at Leicester again after the

:25:49. > :25:52.penalty. After Robert Snodgrass had clinically fired them in front for

:25:53. > :25:56.2-1, some heroic defending from captain Curtis Davies, Jake

:25:57. > :26:01.Livermore and Coe saw the Tigers hold on. Hull City 2-1 Leicester

:26:02. > :26:06.City. 1500-14 Hull to check the league --

:26:07. > :26:12.win the league! That was not how most people imagine

:26:13. > :26:15.this game to go, Hull City with a caretaker manager and understrength

:26:16. > :26:17.squad and three points on the opening day. The tables have turned,

:26:18. > :26:20.Leicester are no longer the underdogs and it's an interesting

:26:21. > :26:25.position. I don't think they have ever been in that position before.

:26:26. > :26:28.When you are a team when pre-season hasn't gone your way and everybody

:26:29. > :26:32.is knocking you down but you have a togetherness within the squad, which

:26:33. > :26:35.it seems Hull does, they will give everything and they have caught

:26:36. > :26:40.Leicester by surprise. It will be a tough season for Leicester to win

:26:41. > :26:43.the league title and to defend it is even harder. Ranieri said there is

:26:44. > :26:46.more chance of ET landing in Piccadilly Circus than of them are

:26:47. > :26:52.repeating the remarkable feat of last season. I think ET put a five

:26:53. > :26:55.on them to win it. You cannot think it is more than once-in-a-lifetime.

:26:56. > :26:59.It was a wonderful story and gives everybody a lift but Leicester City

:27:00. > :27:02.could finish anywhere from just above relegation from a mid-table,

:27:03. > :27:06.we don't really know. I don't see them having the same Kadyrov season.

:27:07. > :27:09.They want to get off to a good start, they have got off to a poor

:27:10. > :27:18.start but nice to see Robert Snodgrass getting off the mark.

:27:19. > :27:21.Roberson and Snodgrass and John Maloney on the bench. Snodgrass is a

:27:22. > :27:25.terrific player and we kind of forget about it because he had such

:27:26. > :27:31.a horrific injury. He is a serious player. It augurs well for Gordon

:27:32. > :27:35.Strachan at Scotland. He could almost fit into any Premiership

:27:36. > :27:39.midfield now. Snodgrass is a terrific player. Onto one of the big

:27:40. > :27:46.controversies of week one of the new season, did he or didn't he, dive

:27:47. > :27:52.that is? Jimmy Walker of Hearts has been grounded by the SFA for games

:27:53. > :27:56.for going to ground to win a penalty against Celtic. Voila, we have the

:27:57. > :28:01.first controversy of the new season. Let's remind ourselves of this,

:28:02. > :28:09.folks. I've still not made up my mind on that. Kidding! What do you

:28:10. > :28:13.make of that, Tom? You've had your say on the radio this week. You were

:28:14. > :28:17.vociferous in your condemnation. It is pretty straightforward to me that

:28:18. > :28:22.it's a dive, there is no contact, it is a dive. That said, I can

:28:23. > :28:26.understand why Hearts fans are up in arms because there were other dives

:28:27. > :28:33.in that match, that wasn't the only one. Dembele dived as well. They are

:28:34. > :28:36.looking at consistency. We will return to this topic but right now

:28:37. > :28:41.we're returning to New Douglas Park where there has been a goal,

:28:42. > :28:44.Hamilton or Kilmarnock? Kilmarnock have pulled level at New

:28:45. > :28:47.Douglas Park, Jodi Jones causing the problems as he did in the opening

:28:48. > :28:55.minutes. He looked dangerous on the first few minutes but Kris Boyd

:28:56. > :29:01.could not convert. Heat-treated the only opportunity. -- he created. He

:29:02. > :29:07.powered the ball past Remi Matthews in the Hamilton Academical goal from

:29:08. > :29:09.Jones's delivery. 1-1 at New Douglas Park. I'm not going back to you

:29:10. > :29:13.because every time you speak there is a goal and I have to interrupt

:29:14. > :29:15.you. What have you made of the

:29:16. > :29:22.controversy surrounding this incident? Was he simply taking

:29:23. > :29:28.evasive action? He was doing every forward does in the box on the Mac

:29:29. > :29:34.he feels the defender coming, going to sweep it clear, tell end it, and

:29:35. > :29:41.as soon as the contact comes you go down. It is not contact, it is a

:29:42. > :29:44.contact sport, contact enough to brush you over, you can brush

:29:45. > :29:49.against anyone and down the Youghal and the question is asked of the

:29:50. > :29:52.referee. I feel for Walker. So many people would do exactly the same

:29:53. > :29:55.thing in that position but now they have set a precedent. We will see if

:29:56. > :30:00.it works, see if one or two players think if I get caught it is a two

:30:01. > :30:03.match ban. If it stops it it is a great idea but I feel for Jamie

:30:04. > :30:07.Walker being the first player under the cosh. As a player, the cheat

:30:08. > :30:12.word has been brandished around this week. Is that too strong?

:30:13. > :30:20.I would suggest it is slightly too shone. One of the contact on the

:30:21. > :30:28.player? No. Did he follow the? Yes. Were they seeking an advantage? If

:30:29. > :30:33.the referee booked him for a dive he does not miss a match. If he does

:30:34. > :30:40.not get booked to get a panel today and he gets it to match ban. It is

:30:41. > :30:45.an interesting discussion. I referee is going to continually pick up on

:30:46. > :30:58.this or not? -- Adi referees going to. Are you taking issue? I hear

:30:59. > :31:09.regularly from professional players... Let us go to New Douglas

:31:10. > :31:15.Park. Carl Myrick have turned this game around. Hamilton looked like

:31:16. > :31:25.they were cruising. Chris Boyd put them level. The ball was picked up

:31:26. > :31:31.on the left-hand side of the box and then it was Carol beyond the

:31:32. > :31:37.outstretched arm of the goalkeeper. -- it was Carol., neck and leading

:31:38. > :31:46.2-1. No time for an infomercial. Here is a new season coming up soon

:31:47. > :31:54.on BBC Scotland. A game woven into our communities. Then with social

:31:55. > :32:02.and political change, Scottish transformed. I was in the room. It

:32:03. > :32:07.was incredibly exciting. Was it for the good of Scotland's game? We

:32:08. > :32:12.realise that the world had changed and the escalation of wages.

:32:13. > :32:19.Scotland's game. Starts on posted 25th of August. I cannot wait to

:32:20. > :32:25.hear more from Martin. He is watching the Highland thriller,

:32:26. > :32:33.Inverness against Ross County. It is an interesting game, absolutely

:32:34. > :32:39.brilliant. Inverness fighting back. There was a hat-trick that grabs the

:32:40. > :32:49.headlines. He nods home current's cross. Superbly fired the corner.

:32:50. > :32:54.Got one blackberry was Andrew Davies to put the ball in. The referee had

:32:55. > :33:02.already blown before the ball went over the line, but we will have to

:33:03. > :33:06.clear that up after the game. Ross J prior firing Inverness back with a

:33:07. > :33:11.low drive on. A substitute for Inverness came close and found the

:33:12. > :33:21.top of the netting, but it was over the bar. There is so much happening

:33:22. > :33:29.here. There is another goal at Fer Park, Motherwell against Johnson. It

:33:30. > :33:34.isn't Johnson that have gone 2-1 in front. It comes in the 75th minute.

:33:35. > :33:43.It was a shock from the edge of the box. The player was quick to knock

:33:44. > :33:50.it into the back of the net. It got past the Motherwell goalkeeper.

:33:51. > :34:01.Motherwell one, St Johnstone two. The goals are flying in now. Still

:34:02. > :34:11.0-0 at Aberdeen - hearts. Hearts dominated -- Aberdeen dominated in

:34:12. > :34:14.the first part of this game. Plenty of pressure on Aberdeen that they

:34:15. > :34:21.have nothing to show for it. There is 15 minutes to go. The biggest

:34:22. > :34:27.chance came a few minutes ago. A lovely ball into the six yard box.

:34:28. > :34:34.But it went about six yards wide of the target. It was hooked right

:34:35. > :34:44.after that. They broke into the Aberdeen penalty area. At the moment

:34:45. > :34:55.it is you - zero. There is another goal at Easter Road between Hibs and

:34:56. > :35:01.Dunfermline. Jason Cummings on target. Martin Boyle played the ball

:35:02. > :35:04.into the box. They had all the time to clear but they missed it

:35:05. > :35:13.completely. There was Jason Cummings just behind him to knock it into the

:35:14. > :35:19.empty net. 11 minutes left. The Burnley into, Dunfermline one. And

:35:20. > :35:30.only have Hamilton against Colmar neck. Any developments? No, no. They

:35:31. > :35:37.have drilled for much of the game. An important header there. It was

:35:38. > :35:45.Jordan Jones to cause so many problems. He has just won his side a

:35:46. > :35:50.free kick. The skin turned on its head in for second-half minutes

:35:51. > :36:00.after Hamilton had been ahead, a powerful strike. Chris Boyd brought

:36:01. > :36:11.them level. Then the ball was curled to put his side in front. Lee Clark

:36:12. > :36:17.is in the stand as a result of being sent off last week. Come on again

:36:18. > :36:32.have to claim seems to have worked. We can head to Dumbarton now, Dundee

:36:33. > :36:35.United 's against Barton. Dundee United had so much possession that

:36:36. > :36:40.they failed to turn it into opportunities. After the break they

:36:41. > :36:46.paid for that because Dumbarton came out firing on all cylinders. There

:36:47. > :36:52.was a free kick of the crossbar and then a corner. The Canon was pushed

:36:53. > :36:58.in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Mark Doherty stepped up

:36:59. > :37:03.to score with his left foot high into the top left corner on his

:37:04. > :37:08.third penalty in two games. A good straight record for him this season.

:37:09. > :37:13.The two strikers for Dundee United have come on as substitutes and they

:37:14. > :37:19.have had good chances. Simon Murray went wide of the posts. Dumbarton

:37:20. > :37:24.are holding out. Heads and St Mirren both came to the Barton twice last

:37:25. > :37:27.season and fail to leave with any points, so this is perhaps not as

:37:28. > :37:35.much of a shock as people think. -- heads. Now we can go to Greenock.

:37:36. > :37:44.Falkirk are playing Greenock. They are still ahead 1-0. Falkirk are

:37:45. > :37:47.without their first choice keeper and their replacement did not cover

:37:48. > :37:53.himself in glory when it came for what looked like a routine corner

:37:54. > :37:58.catch and fumbled the ball straight to a player's V2 slashed at home.

:37:59. > :38:03.This same man doubled the lead a few minutes ago meeting a corner with a

:38:04. > :38:09.powerful header that went just wide. The visitors will be relieved to see

:38:10. > :38:14.the back of the striker. It has in stretching the Falkirk defence all

:38:15. > :38:23.day long. The closest Falkirk into getting back into the match was just

:38:24. > :38:27.before half-time. A substitute has sparked some life into Falkirk, but

:38:28. > :38:35.they are still trailing. What were you saying about Cal Marnoch I said

:38:36. > :38:42.it was a masterstroke to bring in new players. It was a terrific goal,

:38:43. > :38:45.tremendous. If they can win that that is such a boost because it will

:38:46. > :38:55.breathe a bit of morale and confidence which has been absent,

:38:56. > :38:58.for such a long time. Wing-mac I'm interesting -- I am interested in

:38:59. > :39:01.the narrowing in shortening of the pitch to create a more intense

:39:02. > :39:09.approach. Is that been evident today? It seems to be now. If you're

:39:10. > :39:13.going to push the opposition, the wider the pitches the more running

:39:14. > :39:25.you have to do. If you narrow it, you do not play with when I was and

:39:26. > :39:33.that their workers have to take in. , are's away form is not their

:39:34. > :39:39.problem. They cannot get the job done in front of their fans. Last

:39:40. > :39:46.season in four games, and it won twice at Hamilton and Hamilton won

:39:47. > :39:52.twice at, neck. Both have the worst home-wrecker and league although

:39:53. > :40:01.they should be the best. Neither side deemed to be able to get

:40:02. > :40:09.results. Your team are 2-0 up. I am sure you are delighted at that. As a

:40:10. > :40:14.goalkeeper, it was not the best. He made an error. He did not get -- he

:40:15. > :40:26.did not get out quick enough to fix it. Tonight's lottery numbers... Now

:40:27. > :40:33.we can hear about an incident at Fer Park. The ball has been in the neck?

:40:34. > :40:37.Motherwell thought they had equalised for the fans did, but

:40:38. > :40:41.there was a free kick from the right-hand side with the left boot

:40:42. > :40:49.of Martin Johnson. There was McDonald advancing our heads will

:40:50. > :40:55.stop it was volleyball style how he put the ball at the back of the net.

:40:56. > :41:05.For his troubles, Scott McDonnell has received a yellow card. Some

:41:06. > :41:16.volleyball, is that not cheating? That is a deliberate attempt to calm

:41:17. > :41:24.the referee. Professional footballers are role models. I

:41:25. > :41:29.would've thought that the manager would not be too upset you doing

:41:30. > :41:34.that. It is part of the game. We would love to see a drawn out

:41:35. > :41:38.completely. The referees are going to have to stand up and be counted

:41:39. > :41:44.and that is the worry, can we all do that? Statistics will tell you

:41:45. > :41:51.everything about the match but I'm looking at the card for Hearts and

:41:52. > :41:59.it looks like a stinker. If Aberdeen session 0-0, the last seasons of

:42:00. > :42:09.last season and this season it will not have scored any goals. It is

:42:10. > :42:18.surprising. Four games in a road they have not scored in the goal.

:42:19. > :42:23.That does not make sense. He will be too disappointed with the point.

:42:24. > :42:30.This season the fixtures have been difficult. Aberdeen and Rangers at

:42:31. > :42:38.home. To get something from those fixtures. Time to call on John

:42:39. > :42:42.Barnes... Now we're going to Martin in the Highlands. Years watching

:42:43. > :42:53.Inverness against Ross County. Is a stealthy- Tutu County. Inverness are

:42:54. > :43:04.really pressing here. There is ball N. We're going -- weird action

:43:05. > :43:09.there. Ross Chip are getting one back for Inverness. Five or so

:43:10. > :43:16.minutes to go and it is a very exciting derby indeed. Have you any

:43:17. > :43:25.excitement virus? Lots of yellow cards? Five yellow cards for Hearts

:43:26. > :43:35.and two for Aberdeen. Shane Logan working at the edge of the penalty

:43:36. > :43:43.area. There was a wonderful sliding tackle. It was steered beyond corner

:43:44. > :43:49.kick. Plenty of pressure for Aberdeen. They have a habit of

:43:50. > :43:54.scoring late goals, seven of the goals came late in the competition.

:43:55. > :43:58.They are piling the pressure ran against Hearts who have been

:43:59. > :44:05.threatening at times. It has been fiercely contested so far and there

:44:06. > :44:13.is just a few minutes to go. Is there any sign of on-call at Fir

:44:14. > :44:18.Park Stadium? There are about five minutes left to play. Five of the

:44:19. > :44:24.last seven meetings between the sides has been won by an odd goal.

:44:25. > :44:29.Motherwell are going up the park. Johnson trying to find the back post

:44:30. > :44:38.but he could not do so. Motherwell pressing for the equaliser but St

:44:39. > :44:47.Johnstone standing firm. , against Hamilton. They just missed an

:44:48. > :44:57.absolute glorious chance to level is a corner was sworn in for

:44:58. > :45:02.Kilmarnock. The chance for Hamilton was a few moments ago. The ball was

:45:03. > :45:12.kicked over the heads of the defenders. It was a half decent

:45:13. > :45:18.effort but the credit has to go to McDonnell. A good chance passed up

:45:19. > :45:32.by Hamilton to earn themselves a point. Now Dumbarton versus Dundee

:45:33. > :45:39.United. Mark Doherty got a penalty in the 54th minute. They are holding

:45:40. > :45:49.out resolutely. Dumbarton, a really good display by then. That was

:45:50. > :45:53.another good save. One of the players... Some of his passes and

:45:54. > :45:58.clearances have been quite wild and he's been getting criticism from the

:45:59. > :46:06.fans. Dumbarton are holding out at the moment. Then her Burnley against

:46:07. > :46:09.some farmland. Bernie and look like they are hanging on. Dom farmland

:46:10. > :46:19.one. There was an equaliser for

:46:20. > :46:31.Dunfermline just before the Aramark. Then a crazy old from Jason Cummings

:46:32. > :46:43.with 11 minutes to go. Jason Cummings was alone at the back post.

:46:44. > :46:52.The crowds, 16400 and 77. In a remarkable attendance here. Now

:46:53. > :46:57.Greenock and Morton against Falkirk. All that solitary goal be an offer

:46:58. > :47:08.Morton to get three points? That is not the case because Falkirk has

:47:09. > :47:14.snatched a equaliser. The ball was tangible from close range. There

:47:15. > :47:19.will be kicking themselves that they have to win this away because in the

:47:20. > :47:24.last 10-50 minutes they have looked comfortable and dominated

:47:25. > :47:32.possession. Falkirk are lacking a cutting edge up front. I am cutting

:47:33. > :47:38.your graphs. I was just being sarcastic. Her Burnley and have a

:47:39. > :47:48.valuable win here, by the looks of things. -- her Burnley in.

:47:49. > :47:53.When hearts won the championship and Rangers won the championship they

:47:54. > :47:58.started strong and never looked back. No one could get near them.

:47:59. > :48:03.Heads need to do that this season and that means winning games like

:48:04. > :48:11.today. They have to see that through to 90 minutes. Add your last week.

:48:12. > :48:15.That was a match we could have expected them to win. You can look

:48:16. > :48:22.at the stats and not be that surprised. I thought Dundee United

:48:23. > :48:29.would win back comfortably. It is early days and they will have a good

:48:30. > :48:34.season, that is a bit of a shock. Watching St Johnstone away to

:48:35. > :48:42.Motherwell this afternoon. Isn't Johnson under the cosh a bit? There

:48:43. > :48:49.was a fantastic chance for a volley there. It looks like the games last

:48:50. > :48:56.year, entertaining but not much in it. I'm hoping this Johnson managed

:48:57. > :49:02.hold out. A good win and Johnson midweek against Aberdeen. It was a

:49:03. > :49:06.good win over Hearts midweek. They will not be too disappointed with

:49:07. > :49:12.the start of the season, they are doing well. Did tend to start well

:49:13. > :49:20.but then we have a mini highlighters are couple of months on and we

:49:21. > :49:23.cannot find a goal. Hopefully we can continue with that momentum and get

:49:24. > :49:29.to the point where they usually stick and push on. We have our first

:49:30. > :49:41.full-time from Brian McLauchlin. This is from the championship. It is

:49:42. > :49:51.finished. Two were inserted to four HIBs. The opener came from a header.

:49:52. > :49:54.The ball was cleared off the line. The Dunfermline defence could not

:49:55. > :50:03.cleared the danger. It was not back into the box. Dunfermline came back

:50:04. > :50:13.into the game in the second half. There was an excellent finish. Just

:50:14. > :50:19.eight yards out sliding the ball beyond Ross Laidlaw. The winner came

:50:20. > :50:26.with 11 minutes left. The ball was played into the box by substitute.

:50:27. > :50:32.He had a fresh art at the ball, missing it completely. You cannot

:50:33. > :50:36.leave Jason Cummings alone at the back post any tap the ball into the

:50:37. > :50:39.net for his third goal and he secures all three points. Easter

:50:40. > :50:57.Road watch by No one but a late equaliser from

:50:58. > :51:01.Falkirk. It is all over. Falkirk finished 27 points ahead of Morton

:51:02. > :51:04.last season but they were second best for long spells here. The

:51:05. > :51:10.opening goal came through an error from Falkirk's keeper. He may wish

:51:11. > :51:15.he had not replaced the injured Danny Rogers when he fumbled a

:51:16. > :51:20.corner. The ball was then smashed on to give Morton delete. Morton were

:51:21. > :51:26.then in the ascendancy in the second half and looked assured of the

:51:27. > :51:35.point. He scored from close range to snatch a point for the visitors and

:51:36. > :51:42.Falkirk came away with a point. A valuable point for Falkirk there.

:51:43. > :51:48.They lost last week. How many times did we say about last season?

:51:49. > :51:54.Falkirk comeback to win and draw games very late. It is a huge blow

:51:55. > :51:59.for them but I think they will be very competitive at the end of the

:52:00. > :52:03.season. They have a very impressive manager. Morton did well last season

:52:04. > :52:07.and it looks like this season they are well-placed to it again. They

:52:08. > :52:14.were the only team to win it Easter Road last season. Now they feel they

:52:15. > :52:19.can take on anyone. When you start the season well and get your self

:52:20. > :52:26.into a battle can take you through whole campaign. We are now going to

:52:27. > :52:37.New Douglas Park. It is not quite finished. We can talk about the

:52:38. > :52:43.championship. Some fantastic stuff. It is a perfect start for them, a

:52:44. > :52:52.great start. They will want to get themselves out of this quickly. A

:52:53. > :52:59.convincing performance. Convincing pictures coming in from Hamilton. I

:53:00. > :53:04.think my neck were under pressure and they save their bacon. The last

:53:05. > :53:07.campaign they wanted to go off to a great start with a lot of new

:53:08. > :53:13.players under manager needed them gel quickly. A lot of questions are

:53:14. > :53:20.being asked. They go behind to come back and get that victory. I spoke

:53:21. > :53:25.to Martin Smith and Aston about me Clark and he said he was brilliant

:53:26. > :53:33.to work with. You would expect him to say that. I'm sure he will be

:53:34. > :53:43.feeling brilliant tonight. Hamilton was unlucky with the free kick. That

:53:44. > :53:47.lifts the grey clouds above, Nick. Most people I have spoken too soon

:53:48. > :53:54.to be tipping, Nick to go down. Do you change your analysis? It is too

:53:55. > :54:01.early so I will keep my counsel with that. It is a big victory. They need

:54:02. > :54:06.to follow that up. If they go back to the old way of doing things and

:54:07. > :54:16.do not win a game that is no use. This new team are gaining a huge

:54:17. > :54:22.amount of confidence from this. There has been a goalless draw

:54:23. > :54:26.between Aberdeen and Hearts. This is not surprised in considering how

:54:27. > :54:32.hard-fought these teams tend to be, those who finish second or third in

:54:33. > :54:35.the division last season. Hearts is only 12 of the last 11 domestic

:54:36. > :54:42.games and both of those came against Aberdeen. They could not make it

:54:43. > :54:47.three today, although they were exemplary sustaining pressure. They

:54:48. > :54:55.missed their best chance with a free kick from Nicholson on the left.

:54:56. > :55:01.Tony awards, we cannot put any more pressure on the Aberdeen defence.

:55:02. > :55:12.Anthony O'Connor got back with quality defending. They battled and

:55:13. > :55:18.scrap for everything. Aberdeen have started the season with two all the

:55:19. > :55:26.straws, two points in the bag. They're starting with HJ brings in

:55:27. > :55:31.the season. The first win of the Premier ship season force and

:55:32. > :55:38.Johnson. They won to Motherwell. We can get the full report. It keeps up

:55:39. > :55:46.their seven games unbeaten in this campaign. They came from behind to

:55:47. > :55:49.do so. Chris Cadden opened the scoring for Motherwell three minutes

:55:50. > :55:55.into the second half. Across from the right hand side was deflected at

:55:56. > :55:59.the post and you could not miss from two yards. Danny Swanson usually on

:56:00. > :56:11.form at the moment and he even things up. A lovely piece of skill.

:56:12. > :56:14.And then in 75 minutes a mistake by the Motherwell goalkeeper allowed

:56:15. > :56:20.Steven MacLean to score the winner for the visitors. It was a shot from

:56:21. > :56:24.the edge of the area but he spilled it right in front of McClain from

:56:25. > :56:29.six yards out and then slotted into the back of the net. His fourth goal

:56:30. > :56:34.of the season but it is a victory for some Johnson.

:56:35. > :56:48.A victory for Ross County in the Highland derby. Rose county versus

:56:49. > :56:56.Inverness. County had their first points of the season. The second was

:56:57. > :57:05.a brilliant first touch. That was with Inverness down to ten men.

:57:06. > :57:09.Andrew Davies netted the home goal. The referee had blown his whistle

:57:10. > :57:22.before the goal was scored, before awarding that goal. The JAMA was far

:57:23. > :57:31.from over. A low drive. They pushed on. It should have been ended from

:57:32. > :57:43.close range. A powerful drive straight on. A brilliant Diaby with

:57:44. > :57:51.Derby the victors. After Dumbarton and Dundee United. How did it

:57:52. > :58:05.finish? Dumbarton got one point, Dundee got none. It looks very

:58:06. > :58:09.impressive. As the game wore on and the team started to get more

:58:10. > :58:14.possession. At the beginning of the second half look like they were

:58:15. > :58:20.going to steal something. There was a shot from a corner, that Ryan

:58:21. > :58:27.Stevenson floated on. The referee pointed to the spot. The goalkeeper

:58:28. > :58:32.was booked. Mark Doherty stepped up with his left foot and converted it

:58:33. > :58:39.into the top left corner. The third penalty he has scored in three games

:58:40. > :58:46.to give his penalty the lead. Dundee United were just three in defence. A

:58:47. > :58:53.young left-back had a good chance that this is Rabbi Dumbarton

:58:54. > :58:58.gent-mac goalkeeper. They were resolute and scary and got a great

:58:59. > :59:03.victory. A great start for Dumbarton getting this one. That United are

:59:04. > :59:07.still looking for the best when. They have lost today was not been a

:59:08. > :59:17.great start because they are the favourite for this league. Did I

:59:18. > :59:22.hear him saying that the referee blew his whistle and then changed

:59:23. > :59:28.his mind? That is unusual. No wonder the defenders were up in arms. If

:59:29. > :59:34.that is the case who will hear more about that. There has to be time the

:59:35. > :59:45.nuclear reactions of that is the case. It sounds a bit dodgy. To

:59:46. > :00:00.reappraise people of the situation. Car Manukau won 2-1, he had I only

:00:01. > :00:07.saw the goal. I don't see anything else he did but his goals and that's

:00:08. > :00:12.a beauty. He turns back to his right foot and fires into the back of the

:00:13. > :00:16.net. It is a super finishing, Nick drove on after they got the

:00:17. > :00:21.equaliser. That got them back into the game. The winning goal was

:00:22. > :00:29.absolutely brilliant. They do not have to spend that, they can

:00:30. > :00:32.strengthen elsewhere. You would like the money to strengthen the squad

:00:33. > :00:36.and that would be about bringing in some more experience. This young man

:00:37. > :00:42.is impressive and here's the top scorer just now. He is 21 years old.

:00:43. > :00:46.We know with young players that consistency can be an issue. He

:00:47. > :00:57.needs something else there to back him up. More from you later. No more

:00:58. > :01:16.goals to go when. Now it is time for our results round-up.

:01:17. > :04:49.The match between Celtic and Partick Thistle postponed.

:04:50. > :04:55.More details of today's matches in the English Premier League coming

:04:56. > :05:00.up. We will start with Damian Johnson, the reporter who watched

:05:01. > :05:04.Burnley at home to Swansea. Second-half goal from Leroy Fer was

:05:05. > :05:07.enough to help Swansea claimed the spoils and ruin their first game

:05:08. > :05:18.back in the Premier League. Leroy Fer tapped in after Heaton parried

:05:19. > :05:27.into his path. Lukasz Fabianski saved well on the half volley.

:05:28. > :05:32.Fabianski's fine reaction save denied Dean Marney late on. It is

:05:33. > :05:36.Swansea who hang on. Everton are under new management

:05:37. > :05:38.this season and they were at home to Tottenham this afternoon. Ivan

:05:39. > :05:43.Gaskell can tell us what happened at Goodison.

:05:44. > :05:47.1-1 it finished. It took Spurs a good 45 minutes to realise the

:05:48. > :05:52.season had actually started. They worked their way into this one and

:05:53. > :05:56.the open ended all square but for at least two fine late saves from

:05:57. > :06:00.Everton's new keeper Martin Stekelenburg they may well have won

:06:01. > :06:03.it. It had seemed so different for Everton early on, the Ronald Koeman

:06:04. > :06:08.era off to a bright and breezy start and a goal in five minutes, Ross

:06:09. > :06:12.Barkley's free kick. Even he was surprised to see it bounce past Hugo

:06:13. > :06:16.Lloris. The Spurs keeper was later taken off and replaced by Michel

:06:17. > :06:19.Vorm. Spurs kicked off after the break and took advantage of the fact

:06:20. > :06:25.that Everton had not extended their lead and worked their way into it.

:06:26. > :06:29.Lamela with a well taken headed goal squared it. Stick Allen Berg came to

:06:30. > :06:42.the fore with two fine saves but I think 1-1 is about fair.

:06:43. > :06:44.-- Stekelenburg. Time to find out how Middlesbrough did on their

:06:45. > :06:48.return. They pick up a point after a

:06:49. > :06:51.seven-year absence in the top-flight. Spanish striker Alvaro

:06:52. > :06:56.Negredo took no time at all to get reacquainted with the league. He

:06:57. > :06:59.headed home from close range bravely after the ball was headed back

:07:00. > :07:03.across goal by Gaston Ramirez hit the post twice in the first half and

:07:04. > :07:06.cleared off the line. Stoke weather the better team in the second half

:07:07. > :07:12.and deserved a point on the balance it. Shaqiri with a free kick 25

:07:13. > :07:15.yards out over the wall, Valdes on his debut got a hand to it but

:07:16. > :07:20.perhaps should have done better with his positioning and with his left

:07:21. > :07:24.hand. That gave Stoke the equaliser who could have found a winner late

:07:25. > :07:28.on. Wollscheid just headed over the bar. Just about right on

:07:29. > :07:31.Middlesbrough's return to the Premier League.

:07:32. > :07:37.Middlesbrough 1-1 Stoke City. None of the big guns apart from Leicester

:07:38. > :07:39.have played so far this weekend in the Premier League down south. We

:07:40. > :07:47.have Man City playing Sunderland later on tonight. Both have new

:07:48. > :07:50.bosses. Both high profile but one with a considerably higher profile

:07:51. > :07:55.than the other. Guardiola at Man City and David Moyes at Sunderland.

:07:56. > :08:00.And a higher budget as well I might say. Huge money is involved in the

:08:01. > :08:03.English Premier League. When you are at the top end and you have the

:08:04. > :08:10.backers that Man City have, Sunderland can only dream of the

:08:11. > :08:16.players Man City can attract. David Moyes gets his team organised, he

:08:17. > :08:20.makes his team hard to beat. I don't expect them to take anything from

:08:21. > :08:24.the game but they will make Man City work for it. Man City seemed to be

:08:25. > :08:28.the favourite of most pundits down south for the title. Do you concur?

:08:29. > :08:32.I think this Premier League will be one of the hardest to call with the

:08:33. > :08:37.players that are coming into it and the money involved, it is absolutely

:08:38. > :08:41.crazy, it is ludicrous. But it's going to make it exciting and it's

:08:42. > :08:45.hard to narrow it down to four, five, six, anybody could go in there

:08:46. > :08:49.and put in a run. You mentioned the players but all of the hype seems to

:08:50. > :08:55.be surrounding the super bosses coming on. You mentioned Guardiola

:08:56. > :08:59.but there are a few others as well, Tom. One or two. Mourinho and

:09:00. > :09:04.Antonio Conte obviously. The money that has been spent is eye watering.

:09:05. > :09:08.I find it very hard to pick a winner. The two Manchester clubs and

:09:09. > :09:17.Chelsea will be the top three, I think. But in what order? Don't ask

:09:18. > :09:22.me. You don't know. I am asking you. You are asking the! I'd go with Man

:09:23. > :09:30.United first. Because of Mourinho? He always has a good first season at

:09:31. > :09:34.a club. -- you are asking me! He's developing a big squad that it is

:09:35. > :09:38.world-class. He's got goals in it, he's got Pogba, he has a defence now

:09:39. > :09:43.worthy of a name, whereas the last couple of seasons under Van Gaal the

:09:44. > :09:47.defence was dreadful. I would go with Man United. When you go up

:09:48. > :09:50.against canny managers like Guardiola I wouldn't be surprised if

:09:51. > :09:57.it was Man City. Would you describe Lee Clark as a canny manager? We can

:09:58. > :10:00.hear from him now after his side's 2-1 win away to Hamilton in the

:10:01. > :10:04.Scottish Premiership this afternoon. He spoke to Alasdair Lamont.

:10:05. > :10:07.We can only assume that you are delighted that managing to turn that

:10:08. > :10:12.game around having looked like you might be in for another defeat?

:10:13. > :10:18.To be fair our game plan was fine. We were frustrating Hamilton. Goals

:10:19. > :10:22.change games, as they say, and we gave away a poor goal and seemed to

:10:23. > :10:27.lose our discipline a bit and focus in terms of what was required. But I

:10:28. > :10:31.think the substitutions and change of formation helped us once again

:10:32. > :10:37.and obviously it's food for thought now because that's two games in a

:10:38. > :10:40.row with strikers on the pitch and it has been more positive. Whereas

:10:41. > :10:44.last season with the personnel we had we had to go in a certain way.

:10:45. > :10:50.This year with the players we have up top end speed we have up top it

:10:51. > :10:54.allows us to go with two strikers of the highest quality, great wing play

:10:55. > :10:58.by Jordan Jones, and it's food and drink for Chris Boyd. He has lived

:10:59. > :11:06.off that. The second goal is a fantastic bit of play by Simon and

:11:07. > :11:08.the huge three points, as you said. You mentioned substitutions. You

:11:09. > :11:15.were watching the game from the stands. To what extent was Lee

:11:16. > :11:19.McCulloch and the rest of the coaching staff taking the initiative

:11:20. > :11:23.and saying what they see in the game and bringing them in? We were in

:11:24. > :11:29.contact. And obviously the lads are very experienced as well. We all

:11:30. > :11:33.came to the same decision. We spoke briefly over the phone at half-time

:11:34. > :11:37.about what possibilities we could do with the game was still panning out

:11:38. > :11:41.like it was five or ten minutes into the second-half. Between me and

:11:42. > :11:47.Peter and Lee McCulloch we came to the decision, with us being in

:11:48. > :11:50.contact, that it was time to change tactics and personnel and thankfully

:11:51. > :11:54.it worked. You mentioned Jordan Jones providing

:11:55. > :11:58.the first goal, and obviously provided a good option for Chris in

:11:59. > :12:02.the first half as well. I thought he looked dangerous for you almost

:12:03. > :12:05.throughout. He was outstanding, I've got to say. He has shown that in

:12:06. > :12:12.flashes during the course of the League Cup campaign. Last week, you

:12:13. > :12:15.know. We need more consistency, we need that level of performance, and

:12:16. > :12:20.today for the full duration of the game he's been very productive, got

:12:21. > :12:23.to the byline, got crosses in, had attempts on goal and made chances

:12:24. > :12:28.for other people. He has electrifying pace and skills and

:12:29. > :12:31.trickery. So I'm delighted with his performance today.

:12:32. > :12:34.He's delighted, Tom. And no wonder, he's talking about going regularly

:12:35. > :12:42.with two strikers upfront and that will be music to the ears of many

:12:43. > :12:45.Kilmarnock fans, will it not? Yeah, I think the music they have been

:12:46. > :12:49.hearing is the Funeral March for too long. Jordan Jones, looking at him,

:12:50. > :12:54.he's right he is quick and it's a great ball in for Kris Boyd. He's

:12:55. > :12:58.just nodded it home from six inches, Kris Boyd is the best striker in the

:12:59. > :13:03.world from six inches! It is good that he is back in the mix, Boyd. He

:13:04. > :13:10.provides the experience they need. He does, a bit of experience, he

:13:11. > :13:15.will get you a goal, galvanised the place, and I'm a big Kris Boyd fan.

:13:16. > :13:20.He's got a fantastic head of hair on him as well. He's become a better

:13:21. > :13:24.striker since he grew his hair. Kilmarnock fans in for a treat,

:13:25. > :13:31.another victory today. Winning against Motherwell.

:13:32. > :13:32.Tommy, you must be pleased with the performance, tremendous start of the

:13:33. > :13:39.season continues. I would say from a footballing

:13:40. > :13:44.aspect it was our best performance. We passed the ball really well,

:13:45. > :13:49.controlled large spells in the first half, probably didn't make enough of

:13:50. > :13:57.the opportunities. But always looked like a goal threat. We showed

:13:58. > :14:00.character. Coming back from 1-0 down away from home.

:14:01. > :14:03.That's what it is all about, character away from home. It is

:14:04. > :14:07.about character, about having players in the team who will get the

:14:08. > :14:12.job done. Five years in a row they started top six, they drew against

:14:13. > :14:16.Aberdeen to start the season and they are a team that you don't want

:14:17. > :14:18.to play because they get at you. Steven MacLean upfront will get

:14:19. > :14:23.goals, they are solid at the back and have a decent goalkeeper. They

:14:24. > :14:25.do not have a huge squad, injuries and suspensions might hurt them but

:14:26. > :14:31.if they have their first 11 they are a match for anyone. If St Johnstone

:14:32. > :14:38.don't finish in the top six it will not be a failure, we heard a couple

:14:39. > :14:41.of weeks ago. Do you agree? As a St Johnstone fans we will not be world

:14:42. > :14:45.beaters, we have a budget and we will stick to it and what they have

:14:46. > :14:50.done in the last couple of seasons has been brilliant and he looked

:14:51. > :14:54.visibly elated talking about the match. Staying in the Premier League

:14:55. > :14:57.is always our first aim and if we can compete further up we are happy.

:14:58. > :15:01.No need for Motherwell to panic, not been a great week for them. They

:15:02. > :15:04.knew it would be a hard season, Motherwell, talking to people at the

:15:05. > :15:08.club they knew that money would be in short supply, therefore they

:15:09. > :15:11.really had to start well and get their teeth into the division and

:15:12. > :15:15.try and stay away from the bottom area so it will be difficult because

:15:16. > :15:19.I don't think there is any money in the next transfer window to bring in

:15:20. > :15:22.new players but they have a team, if they can keep their best 11 together

:15:23. > :15:26.I think Motherwell will be OK. Mark McGhee is a good manager and Cincy

:15:27. > :15:30.has complaints have moved on the right direction. I'm afraid that is

:15:31. > :15:35.pretty much that for today, day which the following stories unfolded

:15:36. > :15:42.in the Scotland's top two divisions. There was a Highland derby win for

:15:43. > :15:49.Ross County. 3-2 win for Ross County. St Johnstone won 2-1 away

:15:50. > :15:56.from home. 2-1 win for Rangers, their first win of the season,

:15:57. > :16:01.congratulations. And as we mentioned Killie were winners as well. In the

:16:02. > :16:05.Championship, a big win for part-time Dumbarton against Dundee

:16:06. > :16:09.United. Hibs 2-1 winners against Dunfermline. One point apiece for

:16:10. > :16:12.Morton and Falkirk. Big wins for Queen of the South at home to Ayr

:16:13. > :16:17.United and Raith Rovers at home to St Mirren. Now, let me just remind

:16:18. > :16:24.you, to watch the highlights show tomorrow evening at 6:30pm on BBC

:16:25. > :16:30.Two. The results show returns next week at 4pm on BBC Two Scotland.

:16:31. > :16:38.Before that there is Off The Ball's Saturday Supplement with Stuart

:16:39. > :16:43.Cosgrove and Tam Cowan and this week Gemma Fay. That's on Radio
