:00:15. > :00:17.Good afternoon and welcome to the Results Show.

:00:18. > :00:20.I'm a bit nervous this week because the producer's asked

:00:21. > :00:22.the Dundee United Chairman Stephen Thompson to critique

:00:23. > :00:30.I think he might have other things on his mind!

:00:31. > :00:33.Our reporters are on their toes too, keeping us informed with updates,

:00:34. > :00:35.reports and results, while our studio guests are ready

:00:36. > :00:37.to enlighten and entertain us - as ever.

:00:38. > :00:40.They are Stuart Cosgrove and former Dundee United and Celtic defender

:00:41. > :00:47.Where shall we stop off first, I wonder?

:00:48. > :00:53.Celtic Park, it will be, where the champions are at home to Inverness

:00:54. > :01:00.Caledonian Thistle. Chris McLauchlan is there. 2-0 Celtic. A good old

:01:01. > :01:04.game of two hearths. The champions were poor in the first period.

:01:05. > :01:10.Inverness Caledonian Thistle with all other chances two quick goals

:01:11. > :01:15.from Mackay-Steven and Griffiths have settled the crowd. Down to the

:01:16. > :01:19.bottom club, they are at home to Hearts. It would not be Saturday

:01:20. > :01:28.afternoon without the voice of Brian McLauchlan. 1-1. Guy Demel

:01:29. > :01:33.deservedly gave Dundee United the lead, and McGee was sent off for

:01:34. > :01:38.Hearts. Jamie Walker scored three minutes into the second half. It

:01:39. > :01:42.could go either way, at Tannadice. Richard Wilson is watching St

:01:43. > :01:46.Johnstone against Motherwell. There is nothing between them at the

:01:47. > :01:50.moment. Both scored in the first half, Louis Moult for Motherwell,

:01:51. > :01:57.and then Wotherspoon equalising. All to play for. Victoria Park, Scott

:01:58. > :02:03.Davie is watching Ross County at home to Hamilton. 1-1 year as well.

:02:04. > :02:08.Alex Schalk with his first league goal for Ross County. Hamilton had

:02:09. > :02:14.been on top. They have been on top in the second half, especially after

:02:15. > :02:23.Jamie record was sent off. -- Jamie Reckord. Dougie Imrie headed his

:02:24. > :02:28.second goal of the season. I wonder if John Barnes can continue the

:02:29. > :02:32.trend? Not so far, goal this year. Kill Marnoch started lively with

:02:33. > :02:39.their new manager in charge. He's getting his Premiership baptism, Lee

:02:40. > :02:46.Clark. Dundee had a shot turned away seconds ago by Jamie MacDonald. Two

:02:47. > :02:51.goal-line clearances from Dundee defenders, but still 0-0. We can

:02:52. > :02:58.hear from Kenny Crawford in the Championship, watching Morton at

:02:59. > :03:04.home to Falkirk. It is 1-0 to Falkirk. Morton unbeaten in their

:03:05. > :03:12.last three matches, John Baird's first-half strike put Falkirk closer

:03:13. > :03:16.to the win. Let's start at Celtic, hitting Inverness with a couple of

:03:17. > :03:20.what you could term sucker punches? It seems that way, we were listening

:03:21. > :03:25.to the commentary. It seemed Inverness were on top for most of

:03:26. > :03:28.the game. In usual terms, you would say that was incredible. At the way

:03:29. > :03:33.Celtic are playing, it seems to be the norm. Counterattacking side? It

:03:34. > :03:38.seems to be a tactic that works against Celtic. There was boos at

:03:39. > :03:45.half-time. They came out and scored a couple of goals to settle them.

:03:46. > :03:52.Stuart, are you happy with how things are proceeding at McDiarmid

:03:53. > :03:59.Park? A tight game, any of the two teams could win. It's important that

:04:00. > :04:04.St Johnstone get back on the saddle. Tough fixtures? We have tough

:04:05. > :04:08.fixtures, Celtic and Aberdeen are the gains we have lost. We drew with

:04:09. > :04:12.Hearts. We need to get a win today. A draw would not be disastrous.

:04:13. > :04:18.Stuart is on the edge of his seat, watching the pictures coming in. You

:04:19. > :04:21.have been keeping an eye over Dundee United against Hearts. You were

:04:22. > :04:27.impressed with the way United started the game? The same old story

:04:28. > :04:31.for them? It seemed the best way around the scrap, to get your

:04:32. > :04:35.chairman to come out and give you a rifling in the press. United came

:04:36. > :04:40.out and were all over Hearts. Hit the post, had great chances, scored

:04:41. > :04:45.the goal. Once again, they have conceded and looks like it could go

:04:46. > :04:50.either way. Hearts down to ten men, you would fancy United? They are

:04:51. > :04:59.playing well. Doesn't the manager set them up to play with ten men?

:05:00. > :05:04.Ross County and Hamilton, 1-1. A real sticky run? I think this game

:05:05. > :05:07.and the St Johnstone Motherwell game are indicative of how tight the

:05:08. > :05:10.middle of the league is. Anybody that gets a win is looking to

:05:11. > :05:15.qualify for Europe, if Celtic win the cup, the fourth place becomes a

:05:16. > :05:18.European place and then you are smiling. If you lose, you are

:05:19. > :05:21.worried about dropping into the play-off position or whatever. I've

:05:22. > :05:28.never known the league being so tight as it is. Your players will be

:05:29. > :05:31.loving that? I'm not so sure. Like you say, they are going for a

:05:32. > :05:37.European spot, but looking over their shoulder and saying they could

:05:38. > :05:44.be in the play-off spot. Looking for the clause in their contract,

:05:45. > :05:48.saying, if you get relegated... Kilmarnock, new manager, 0-0 against

:05:49. > :05:54.Dundee. They seemed to have steadied the ship a little bit? A new

:05:55. > :05:59.manager, at this point in time, a good thing, to get that kick start

:06:00. > :06:03.up and running. But Dundee were so impressive earlier in the season.

:06:04. > :06:10.There has been another goal, is it for Ross County or Hamilton? It is

:06:11. > :06:15.for Ross County. The ten men, going in front with just over 12 minutes

:06:16. > :06:20.to go. A magnificent free kick from the left edge of the penalty box.

:06:21. > :06:28.Ian McShane, around the wall and beyond the despairing dive of

:06:29. > :06:33.McGovern, the former Ross County goalkeeper, Michael McGovern. That

:06:34. > :06:37.will be a real blow to Hamilton, who had dominated, territorially, in the

:06:38. > :06:41.second half, after Jamie Reckord was sent off at the start of the second

:06:42. > :06:46.half for a last man challenge one Dougie Imrie. Dougie Imrie was

:06:47. > :06:50.looking through to have a goal-scoring opportunity, the right

:06:51. > :06:53.decision to issue the red card. Hamilton, laying siege to the Ross

:06:54. > :06:58.County goal from that moment on. They have fallen behind, probably

:06:59. > :07:06.slightly against the run of play. It has been a frustrating afternoon for

:07:07. > :07:10.the Accies. Right on the start of half-time, a Richard Foster free

:07:11. > :07:16.kick, played into the penalty area, Davies headed on, and the first

:07:17. > :07:22.league goal for the Dutchman. After the dismissal of Reckord, various

:07:23. > :07:26.chances, a goal-line block from the captain of Ross County, Paul Quinn.

:07:27. > :07:32.A shot from Crawford, fizzing past the post. Dougie Imrie getting his

:07:33. > :07:40.third goal of the season. It was deserved, the pressure had been

:07:41. > :07:44.playing. The ball was played across by Kurtaj. There have been a couple

:07:45. > :07:48.of chances for Hamilton to take the lead. MacShane, a beautiful effort

:07:49. > :07:54.that you will want to see on sports scene tomorrow. Unless you are a

:07:55. > :07:59.Hamilton Accies supporter, I suppose! Time to check in with Chris

:08:00. > :08:04.at Celtic Park. No further goals, but as I said, it really has been

:08:05. > :08:07.that classic game of two halves. Celtic with the majority of the

:08:08. > :08:11.pressure on the first half, but did absolutely next to nothing with it.

:08:12. > :08:19.One tame effort from Leigh Griffiths. Inverness, a shot just

:08:20. > :08:24.over the bar, Draper shot just wide. Guy Warren had an open goal, free

:08:25. > :08:28.header, absolute sitter from a free kick on the left-hand side. He

:08:29. > :08:32.nodded it just past the post. As Mark Wilson said, the half-time

:08:33. > :08:36.whistle was met with a chorus of boos, Celtic fans extremely

:08:37. > :08:39.restless. Two minutes after the break, Roberts, one-on-one with

:08:40. > :08:44.Craig Gordon, should have scored, but his shot hit off the Celtic

:08:45. > :08:51.number one. Two quickfire goals, Gary Mackay-Steven, after some neat

:08:52. > :08:57.interplay inside the box, and a typical Leigh Griffiths goal, a low

:08:58. > :09:02.drive. Celtic in driving seat. You would think, with 18 minutes on the

:09:03. > :09:08.clock, they would go six points clear of Aberdeen at the top. Time

:09:09. > :09:15.to hear from Brian MacLachlan. He is at Tannadice, where Dundee United

:09:16. > :09:18.are at home to Hearts. This is a game that United should have put

:09:19. > :09:30.about by half-time. They dominated the opening five -- 45 minutes. The

:09:31. > :09:34.save from that header after 70 minutes was absolutely stunning. A

:09:35. > :09:38.real contender for save of the season. And then he did it all

:09:39. > :09:42.again. This time it was Guy Demel, a quick free kick taken down the

:09:43. > :09:46.right-hand side. It was destined for the bottom corner. But Alexander

:09:47. > :09:50.dived low to the left-hand side. The goal did come, Corner, again, there

:09:51. > :09:55.was Guy Demel, bullet header into the back of the net. Add to that,

:09:56. > :10:01.Hearts entered the half with ten men, after Jordan McGee received two

:10:02. > :10:04.yellow cards. The second one, the boot was high, dodgy if it was a

:10:05. > :10:11.yellow card or not. Anyway, the referee was a few yards away and

:10:12. > :10:16.thought it was a second yellow. Hearts came back into the game three

:10:17. > :10:21.minutes into the second half. Slack play at the back by United. With a

:10:22. > :10:30.stunning finish by Jamie Walker. The ball, looping high into the air,

:10:31. > :10:34.hammered it beyond Kawashima made to the back of the net. The tendon of

:10:35. > :10:44.Hearts have done well in the second half. United should have had this

:10:45. > :10:50.won already. Won a piece, is it all square at McDiarmid Park? It is. A

:10:51. > :10:56.grimly competitive game. Lots of competitive effort, but little in

:10:57. > :11:00.the way of chances. Scott McDonald had to pull out of the starting

:11:01. > :11:03.line-up. He was replaced by Fletcher, and the other striker,

:11:04. > :11:08.Louis Moult, took the responsibility to get the goal. He opened the

:11:09. > :11:13.scoring, rising high in the penalty area, to head home. He also headed a

:11:14. > :11:18.free kick over the bar in the second half. Forcing Johnston, very little

:11:19. > :11:22.in the way of attacking threat. They equalised through David Wotherspoon.

:11:23. > :11:28.A swerving shot seemed to catch Ripley unawares. Tommy Wright was

:11:29. > :11:32.recently brought on as a substitute to go front. They should have

:11:33. > :11:39.fashioned a second for St Johnstone moments earlier. Liam Craig steered

:11:40. > :11:43.his volley wide of the upright. Rugby Park, John Barnes is watching

:11:44. > :11:48.the match between Kilmarnock and Dundee. Still goalless? Still

:11:49. > :11:53.goalless between these two. Josh Magennis fires the ball, claiming it

:11:54. > :12:01.came off his hand, but I think it came off his head to make the

:12:02. > :12:05.clearance. Fast and Furious. Good football from both sides. Lee Clark

:12:06. > :12:10.looking for his first victory as the new Kilmarnock boss. A couple of

:12:11. > :12:13.good chances from corner kicks. Gary Dicker latching onto a cross, and

:12:14. > :12:18.another one, McGuinness, getting onto the end of a header that was

:12:19. > :12:25.cleared off the line by Nick Ross. A Slater free kick almost caught out

:12:26. > :12:32.Scott Bain. But the keeper managed to flick it away. As far as Dundee

:12:33. > :12:36.are concerned, their best chance came from Loy, but he put it over

:12:37. > :12:39.the crossbar. Dundee have been lively, they have come out and the

:12:40. > :12:43.manager must have said something at half-time. A couple of efforts well

:12:44. > :12:51.saved by Jamie MacDonald. Another great save to deny Paul McGowan. At

:12:52. > :13:08.the moment, Harkins is coming off. Craig Wighton is coming on. Kenny

:13:09. > :13:15.Crawford, the details? It was John Baird that scored for the Bairns. He

:13:16. > :13:22.stayed calm and used his experience to slot it into the far corner.

:13:23. > :13:25.Declan McManus hit the bar for Morton. Morton have pushed more in

:13:26. > :13:30.the second half, but they have not had anything to show for it. I'm

:13:31. > :13:35.feeling a bit sorry for the Falkirk fans, uncovered in the away end,

:13:36. > :13:39.getting drenched. Let me add, in the age of this multicultural football,

:13:40. > :13:51.we have just had a Falkirk substitute, Bob McCue come on, I am

:13:52. > :13:56.pretty sure he is Scottish. Let's reflect on the action. Celtic, 2-0

:13:57. > :14:00.up, not playing that well. It is to be that was the stuff of champions,

:14:01. > :14:06.grinding out wins when you are not playing well. Now you get booed? Is

:14:07. > :14:09.to be, when Rangers were in the league. Who cares how you play as

:14:10. > :14:16.long as you get the three points? Now there is no Old Firm rivalry,

:14:17. > :14:21.there needs to be something happening on the pitch. It's not

:14:22. > :14:26.good enough to just win, they need to be entertained. You are not

:14:27. > :14:29.bothered with entertainment? People would argue that with the Old Firm

:14:30. > :14:32.in the league, there should be entertainment as well, not that they

:14:33. > :14:36.should grind of eating out. We are in a situation where there was a lot

:14:37. > :14:42.of nervous football around, nobody wants to drop into the play-off

:14:43. > :14:47.place. I think we are in an era were the teams, everything seems

:14:48. > :14:51.marginal, with the exception maybe Celtic at the top. You know just

:14:52. > :14:56.about anybody can get a result against anybody. All of those fine

:14:57. > :14:57.margins. I think it has led to competitive games, but also very

:14:58. > :15:01.nervous games. The top two in the Championship play

:15:02. > :15:03.on Sunday this week. But not, repeat not,

:15:04. > :15:05.against each other. But there's still plenty

:15:06. > :15:08.to get excited about. Second placed Hibernian are at home

:15:09. > :15:11.to the bottom club Alloa, while the leaders Rangers are away

:15:12. > :15:15.to Queen of the South. First off, Hibs versus Alloa

:15:16. > :15:21.at Easter Road. A match Hibs go into

:15:22. > :15:23.following their Scottish Cup win over arch rivals Hearts

:15:24. > :15:34.on Tuesday night. This will fill them with great

:15:35. > :15:48.fettle. Yes. Derbys left the club. Those should be a good feel around

:15:49. > :15:53.Hibs. They had the chance to catch up on Rangers and blew it. Alloa

:15:54. > :16:01.created one chance and scored. It is going to be a tough afternoon. Alloa

:16:02. > :16:06.held Rangers to a 1-1 draw on this controversial surface. Not this is

:16:07. > :16:15.our lead because it is artificial but because of the narrowing of the

:16:16. > :16:19.pitch. -- necessarily. The advantage tomorrow in the advantage of Hibs at

:16:20. > :16:25.Easter Road. You would think so. Alloa showed a drop in performance

:16:26. > :16:31.against Rangers. It was towards the end that Rangers came into it

:16:32. > :16:42.through the former St Johnstone legend -- 80 nations performance.

:16:43. > :16:51.Rangers and Alloa have probe it. Nobody is guaranteed a win. I do not

:16:52. > :16:58.think anybody is going into these games thinking it is a definite.

:16:59. > :17:03.Alloa have rallied. He is a good coach. He speaks very well. He

:17:04. > :17:09.instantly get the respect from players. He has done a good job. It

:17:10. > :17:17.is a tough job at Easter Road. Hibs have not lost their all season.

:17:18. > :17:24.Rangers go into this on the back of an impressive win, the Cup replay

:17:25. > :17:32.midweek against Kilmarnock. I am one of the thousands that watched this

:17:33. > :17:37.via an app. I thought it was a pretty decent game and comfortable

:17:38. > :17:40.in the end for Rangers. Their fans will be racking up the various

:17:41. > :17:44.victor these they are getting against Premiership clubs in order

:17:45. > :17:53.to act you are the keys they are ready for their move up and can

:17:54. > :17:59.convert to the league above. Rangers in action on an artificial surface.

:18:00. > :18:02.The game against Alloa was on an artificial surface. Tomorrow is on

:18:03. > :18:09.the plastic of Palmerston. So it's once more unto

:18:10. > :18:11.the artificial surface for Rangers, Now, their last outing on a manmade

:18:12. > :18:15.surface left more than friction burns, it's created

:18:16. > :18:17.a right old rammy. With Rangers manager Mark Warburton

:18:18. > :18:19.blaming it for Martyn Waghorn's season threatening injury

:18:20. > :18:21.and declaring there's no place for plastic in the Premiership,

:18:22. > :18:31.does that mean it's okay I do not think that is what he had

:18:32. > :18:35.in mind. What did you make of this? Mark Warburton is right. I do not

:18:36. > :18:39.think they should be allowed in the top league. I do not think you can

:18:40. > :18:45.blame certain injuries on the plastic pitches. The aches and pains

:18:46. > :18:49.you get after it, it takes days to recover. That is why this game is

:18:50. > :18:53.going to be interesting for Rangers because the third game on a plastic

:18:54. > :18:59.pitch and we can they old guys like Kenny Miller, how are the legs and

:19:00. > :19:05.the joints going into this? Do you think this is a storm in a tea Cup?

:19:06. > :19:12.It has clearly angered Kilmarnock fans and their chairman and board of

:19:13. > :19:16.directors. They are staying like might have gone down but he got up

:19:17. > :19:25.quick enough to take the penalty and he's good. He was fit enough to run

:19:26. > :19:28.and celebrate. -- he scored. I do not think it needs an operation but

:19:29. > :19:33.it is certainly going to rule them out for the rest of the season. When

:19:34. > :19:37.people pick up injuries inevitably the club are going to complain

:19:38. > :19:47.whatever. This is a debate we are going to have a time yet. There has

:19:48. > :19:53.been a goal. A significant one. At Tannadice, between Dundee United and

:19:54. > :20:01.Hearts. What a strike. The goal has come for Dundee United. 30 yards out

:20:02. > :20:06.on the volley giving Neil Alexander absolutely no chance. 90 seconds

:20:07. > :20:13.left of play at Tannadice. This is the lifeline United have been

:20:14. > :20:18.looking for. We may return to plastic pitches but I will put this

:20:19. > :20:22.to you, is that the lifeline Dundee United have been looking for? Can

:20:23. > :20:29.they lift themselves out of relegation? No. Last week when they

:20:30. > :20:33.put together that run and won against Kilmarnock and do at

:20:34. > :20:37.Hamilton I thought there might go on the right way but the defeat against

:20:38. > :20:45.Motherwell has consigned them to the Championship. The goals are flooding

:20:46. > :20:56.in. I am not sure why will first. McDermott Park.

:20:57. > :21:06.In the 90th minute at McDiarmid Park, in the penalty area, converted

:21:07. > :21:17.past the keeper. It looks as if St Johnstone will all three points,

:21:18. > :21:23.2-1. Goal at Celtic Park. Griffiths has made it 3-0 to Celtic. That is

:21:24. > :21:31.the final whistle at Celtic Park. Four number 32 of the season.

:21:32. > :21:37.Another win for Celtic, but a less than convincing 90 minutes.

:21:38. > :21:43.Mackay-Steven and Griffiths getting the goals. Celtic had the majority

:21:44. > :21:47.of the possession in the first half but did pretty much nothing with it.

:21:48. > :21:54.Warren heading past the post. A sitter. Roberts found himself

:21:55. > :22:02.one-on-one with Gordon after the restart. He failed to capitalise.

:22:03. > :22:09.The goal the Celtic Park Road had been craving. In from eight yards.

:22:10. > :22:15.Griffiths got the second five minutes later. A neat finish.

:22:16. > :22:22.Roberts came off the bench and laid on and provided some guile. Celtic

:22:23. > :22:32.six points clear of second placed Aberdeen. The fans heading home

:22:33. > :22:40.happy -ish. I believe there has been a red card at Tannadice. Drama. Less

:22:41. > :22:46.than 90 seconds to go. Any year receiving his second yellow card

:22:47. > :22:51.since coming on as a sub the jute -- Anier. United down to nine players

:22:52. > :22:55.because one of the players is off with the cut to his head. The fourth

:22:56. > :23:10.official has not put the board up yet. Rugby Park, full-time. Ended

:23:11. > :23:15.goalless. Clark's first match in charge. It could prove a vital point

:23:16. > :23:20.in the end. But a very lively indeed with some good football but could

:23:21. > :23:25.not find the back of the net. Three good chances in the first half, a

:23:26. > :23:31.volley over the top then Slater had a free kick from the left and the

:23:32. > :23:36.keeper turned it wide and McGuinness had a terrific header from a corner

:23:37. > :23:49.cleared off the line by Ross at the back post. Dundee's only real chance

:23:50. > :23:57.fell to Loy reflected over the crossbar. Dundee came out lively.

:23:58. > :24:01.Producing some excellent saves by McDonald in the Kilmarnock goal.

:24:02. > :24:07.Dundee almost won it at the end of the last minute. Conrad up for a set

:24:08. > :24:17.piece into the back post, the head are drifting wide of the left hand

:24:18. > :24:31.post. A vital point for Kilmarnock. Dundee unbeaten in the last five.

:24:32. > :24:35.Full-time in Dingwall. A hammer blow for Hamilton who played with a man

:24:36. > :24:46.advantage for 44 minutes in the second half after Reckord had been

:24:47. > :24:53.sent off for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity. A spectacular

:24:54. > :24:59.effort in the League Cup semifinal victory against Celtic at Hampden. A

:25:00. > :25:04.pretty insipid 45 minutes. It's brightened up for a few minutes

:25:05. > :25:08.prior when Hamilton began to dominate territorially and create

:25:09. > :25:15.one or two chances. Fox damaged himself colliding with someone

:25:16. > :25:20.trying to clear a shot. The ball broke to Crawford. I do not think he

:25:21. > :25:26.relies the goal was unguarded. He tried to be cute and get it into the

:25:27. > :25:31.top corner and it went wide. That started a dismal afternoon as far as

:25:32. > :25:42.chances were concerned for Hamilton. On the interval, up for the set

:25:43. > :25:49.piece, Schalk headed it into the back of the net. After the dismissal

:25:50. > :25:55.of Reckord Hamilton poured forward, Quinn stopping a shot on the line

:25:56. > :25:59.contested by the Hamilton players. The assistant referee was in line I

:26:00. > :26:09.decided the ball had not crossed the line. -- and decided. Fox with a

:26:10. > :26:17.couple of magnificent saves. Crawford as well. His resistance was

:26:18. > :26:21.broken. From the left-hand side with the cross and in re headed in his

:26:22. > :26:30.sixth goal of the season. It looked as if Hamilton would go, continuing

:26:31. > :26:33.to push forward. A couple of headers going wide. McShane on the

:26:34. > :26:39.counterattack winning a free kick and from just outside the box

:26:40. > :26:44.getting it into the top corner to give Ross County a vital win and

:26:45. > :26:50.keep Hamilton down with one win in 11 games going into a game against

:26:51. > :26:57.Celtic next week. Full-time at McDiarmid Park. This is one of those

:26:58. > :27:02.games you get at this time of the season when the points are so

:27:03. > :27:07.precious to both sides they end up being tense and conservative.

:27:08. > :27:16.Motherwell opening the scoring. Moult headed home McFadden's corner.

:27:17. > :27:21.There was a couple of chances for both sides in the second half and it

:27:22. > :27:26.looked as if it would be 1-1 but Miller's free kick was headed home,

:27:27. > :27:34.a precious goal for St Johnstone, ending a run of seven games without

:27:35. > :27:43.a victory for them. Tannadice, the whistle has sounded. Lots of drama.

:27:44. > :27:50.Lots of drama but more importantly for United a valuable three points

:27:51. > :27:56.to try to ease their way from relegation. 2-1 winners over Hearts

:27:57. > :27:59.this afternoon. Leading at half-time thanks to a magnificent header.

:28:00. > :28:05.Alexander pulling off some wonder saves in the first half to keep

:28:06. > :28:09.Hearts in the game. Ended up with ten men after Magee was sent off.

:28:10. > :28:14.They came back into the game thanks to a magnificent strike from Walker.

:28:15. > :28:21.United poured more and more men forward later and had a magnificent

:28:22. > :28:32.strike from 25 yards out to give Alexander no chance. Substitute

:28:33. > :28:38.Anier was shown his second yellow card towards the end. Hearts pile

:28:39. > :28:42.more men forward. Could not find a way through. United held on for the

:28:43. > :28:50.victory. How pivotal could this be at the end of the season? I will

:28:51. > :29:03.have to tell him I ask the questions! How did it finish? An

:29:04. > :29:10.important win for Falkirk, their first since the 2nd of January when

:29:11. > :29:13.they beat Alloa. Their first win in six attempts. A goal which showed

:29:14. > :29:19.all of Baird's know-how and experience. He outmuscled the

:29:20. > :29:24.defender and sorted it into the far corner. Both teams hit the bar and

:29:25. > :29:32.there was a bad injury that gave us eight minutes of added time to the

:29:33. > :29:40.autumn born player from Norwich -- on loan.

:29:41. > :29:44.Staying in the Championship, the match between St Mirren and

:29:45. > :29:52.Dumbarton has finished. Not the best of games here at the 2021 stadium,

:29:53. > :29:55.but an important three points. A poor first half, with both sets of

:29:56. > :30:00.players seemingly going through the motions. The game burst into life on

:30:01. > :30:07.the 63rd minute, with Shankland losing his marker in the box to

:30:08. > :30:11.smash home the opener. The home side should have had their second, with

:30:12. > :30:16.Stuart finding Clarkson at the back post. The striker, lacking

:30:17. > :30:21.composure, blasted over the bar. That was it in terms of goals and

:30:22. > :30:24.chances in a game that was far from a classic. But if St Mirren have

:30:25. > :30:32.aspirations of making the play-off, they will have to play better than

:30:33. > :30:34.they did today. It finished 1-0. That report takes us to the

:30:35. > :33:54.classified results round-up. Let's see how the footballing gods

:33:55. > :34:11.have shuffled the pack. Hearts lost to Dundee United, the

:34:12. > :34:14.bottom club, but they have cut the deficit between them and Kilmarnock.

:34:15. > :34:38.Kilmarnock have a game in hand. St Mirren's win takes them five

:34:39. > :34:44.clear of Dumbarton and just one point behind Morton.

:34:45. > :34:58.Another win for Dunfermline, they beat the bottom club,

:34:59. > :35:16.just a point between East Fife and Elgin City.

:35:17. > :35:25.Hull City were in FA Cup action but stay at the top. Burnley have played

:35:26. > :35:30.one match more. Bolton Wanderers move off the bottom of the table.

:35:31. > :35:34.They picked up a point this afternoon. Charlton Athletic are the

:35:35. > :35:36.new black markers on the table. Rather United are the other team in

:35:37. > :35:44.the bottom three. Let's get details of the FA Cup

:35:45. > :35:50.matches. The holders, Arsenal, were at home to the Championship leaders,

:35:51. > :35:54.Hull City. Arsene Wenger said yesterday he doesn't think FA Cup

:35:55. > :35:59.replays should be scrapped. It is the law of Murphy that the very next

:36:00. > :36:05.tie he has goes to a replay. It does not suit Hull City, either. Their

:36:06. > :36:11.star man was their goalkeeper and a series of saves, the pick of them

:36:12. > :36:16.tipping a Campbell free kick onto the post. Generally, Hull defended

:36:17. > :36:19.well against Arsenal's much changed team.

:36:20. > :36:29.No replay needed for Reading. We have just seen Olsen having an

:36:30. > :36:34.argument with the referee, too late and too little. The mind goes back

:36:35. > :36:37.to what Tony Pulis said. He and his staff spent a lot of this week

:36:38. > :36:41.making sure his players knew how important this game was. Not just in

:36:42. > :36:45.terms of making progress in the FA Cup, but for the rest of the season.

:36:46. > :36:51.Build on this, click on, you have glory, possibly, as much as putting

:36:52. > :36:55.in a shift. At 1-0 up, they probably thought they did it after 53

:36:56. > :37:04.minutes. But in the second half, Reading came back. 3-1, it was as if

:37:05. > :37:08.West Brom had given up. The defence was bedraggled and absolutely

:37:09. > :37:13.nowhere. The penalty area was deserted. Ben Foster, no chance.

:37:14. > :37:17.Reading go through to the quarterfinals. Six years ago was

:37:18. > :37:18.their first appearance in 43 years. They are into the quarterfinals

:37:19. > :37:28.again. Jacqui Oatley was watching Watford

:37:29. > :37:31.at home to Leeds United. It has finished 1-0. Watford into the

:37:32. > :37:36.quarterfinals for the first time in nine years. They deserved it. They

:37:37. > :37:39.dominated the match, despite making six changes. They created the better

:37:40. > :37:44.chances. Watson was the instigator of virtually all of them. He played

:37:45. > :37:47.a key role in the winner, his ball in from the right-hand side looked

:37:48. > :37:52.to have evaded everybody and was going nowhere until Scott Wood and

:37:53. > :38:00.decided to make absolutely sure and guided behind. Instead, it sliced

:38:01. > :38:05.off his skin and into the post. -- Wootton had it sliced off his shin.

:38:06. > :38:09.There were moments of pace, but they couldn't make the approach play

:38:10. > :38:22.matter where it is counted. We barely saw Pantilimon. One of the

:38:23. > :38:26.stories of the week was Arsene Wenger saying time to scrap replays,

:38:27. > :38:31.Fate hits him in the face with the old wet sock and he gets one? Exacta

:38:32. > :38:36.what he doesn't want. I think you should scrap replays. I understand

:38:37. > :38:40.the smaller teams get a bit of cash from the replay. But I think it

:38:41. > :38:44.would give excitement to the fans, extra time, penalty shoot outs. I

:38:45. > :38:52.think it would be a good thing, in the Scottish Cup as well. You love a

:38:53. > :38:56.replay? I do. I feel that football is at its best when it is emotional.

:38:57. > :39:01.We see scenes from Tannadice, Dundee United, at the bottom of the

:39:02. > :39:05.division, taking a lap of honour because of that victory. Fantastic,

:39:06. > :39:08.a great goal. You can see the highlights of the game, that is why

:39:09. > :39:12.people love paying to go to live football matches. You have taken me

:39:13. > :39:16.back seamlessly to the Premiership. We start with Dundee United. I put

:39:17. > :39:21.this to you, it shows you a good tongue lashing in public can do

:39:22. > :39:26.something? You would think so, you wonder if he would stick his head

:39:27. > :39:31.around the door. Does he praised them? Will he say, well done? I'm

:39:32. > :39:38.not so sure. United were worthy of the points. Again, they concede, and

:39:39. > :39:43.they looked a bit shaky. And what a goal to win it. 11 points adrift,

:39:44. > :39:52.with a game in hand? Does not look great for them. But that win today,

:39:53. > :39:56.when you see it, you see Paul Paton's goal, he is running to the

:39:57. > :40:02.hands and kissing the badge, there was a glory to that goal, it will

:40:03. > :40:05.give the whole dressing room a boost. I hope we are at the

:40:06. > :40:10.beginning of a great escape, it would be fantastic. Who would you

:40:11. > :40:15.like to see them replaced by at the bottom? The list is too long! The

:40:16. > :40:27.win for St Johnstone, really important? Ie in Europe again? Very

:40:28. > :40:36.important, came at the death. He's making a habit of scoring? He is, he

:40:37. > :40:41.lost his marker. At the end of the report, he said very important

:40:42. > :40:47.points for St Johnstone. Going into the game, he told me it was a six

:40:48. > :40:52.pointer. I want all six! Disappointment for Inverness. Other

:40:53. > :40:59.start, were saying, they have played 24, won eight, lost eight, bang in

:41:00. > :41:03.the middle of the table, they have gone down to seventh. Only four

:41:04. > :41:09.points from the relegation play-off spot. It is incredible. One minute

:41:10. > :41:11.you are looking up the table, one defeat and you are looking behind

:41:12. > :41:15.you. John Hughes will be disappointed. Like we heard in

:41:16. > :41:18.commentary, Inverness were creating the better chances, playing better

:41:19. > :41:22.football and did not take their chances. When you go to Celtic Park,

:41:23. > :41:26.you have to take your chances and they were punished. Imagine you were

:41:27. > :41:34.a Celtic fan today and you had been booing your team at half-time. You

:41:35. > :41:41.go home and reflect on a 3-0 win, six points clear, do you feel a bit

:41:42. > :41:45.guilty? You should do. But football fans are hypocrites, guys that were

:41:46. > :41:51.booing at half-time, they will be in bars eulogising how great they are.

:41:52. > :41:58.That is the nature of football fans. Human emotion. Kilmarnock, goalless

:41:59. > :42:01.at home to Dundee. On the surface, not a great result. Bear in mind the

:42:02. > :42:06.last time Dundee were there, they thrashed them 4-0? That is the

:42:07. > :42:11.thing. A decent start for Lee Clark. The big thing is not to lose your

:42:12. > :42:14.first game and don't concede. They kept a clean sheet. Did they went

:42:15. > :42:21.down and hammered them at the start of the season. Dundee are very much

:42:22. > :42:24.in form. I think Dundee are actually the decent team in the middle of the

:42:25. > :42:30.division. I saw them on Friday night, beating St Johnstone,

:42:31. > :42:35.comfortably. I think Kilmarnock will be looking at that and saying it is

:42:36. > :42:39.a great point won. A good result for Ross County. At one stage, you're

:42:40. > :42:47.thinking they are in a bit of trouble. Now they have consolidated

:42:48. > :42:51.it, in fourth. Just what you want. After the club performances, doing

:42:52. > :42:55.pretty well, they have slumped to a feud defeats. Just what you want,

:42:56. > :43:01.getting another home win. They are so impressive, difficult to beat.

:43:02. > :43:03.That is down to what they have done, consolidated that. I think they do

:43:04. > :43:06.well towards the end of games. If this were a match,

:43:07. > :43:09.the fourth official would be holding up a board with an electronic number

:43:10. > :43:12.one on it because we're into time added on for some

:43:13. > :43:14.promotional materials. Jonathan Sutherland invites

:43:15. > :43:16.you to watch the Highlights Show tomorrow at 10:30pm

:43:17. > :43:19.on BBC One Scotland. He's cleaned the big

:43:20. > :43:22.screen and everything. The Results Show returns next

:43:23. > :43:25.week at 4pm on BBC One. If you're up for Off The Ball's

:43:26. > :43:29.Saturday Supplement, This week the part of

:43:34. > :43:35.and Tam Cowan by Tam Cowan, Go on, give them a call

:43:46. > :44:13.and we'll see you soon. I'm raising my game

:44:14. > :44:14.and I WILL come out on top.
