:00:16. > :00:22.good afternoon and welcome to the Results Show once again. Scottish

:00:23. > :00:28.Cup semifinals weekend no less, one down and want to go, so expect

:00:29. > :00:33.action and reaction, Hibs at Hampden earlier today, and it is worth

:00:34. > :00:38.watching for that alone. Aberdeen won, 3-2 the final score, reaching

:00:39. > :00:46.their first final in the competition since 2000, and they will face the

:00:47. > :00:55.winners of tomorrow's semi between Celtic and Rangers. We also have

:00:56. > :00:59.reporters at today's four championship matches, plenty to play

:01:00. > :01:02.for in terms of emotion and relegation, so let's head to the

:01:03. > :01:09.game is hurtling towards conclusion in the championship. Let's check in

:01:10. > :01:16.at Tannadice, Dundee United against St Mirren. It is 2-1, the home side

:01:17. > :01:23.in front against the run of play after just seven minutes. Mikkelsen

:01:24. > :01:27.going in with a high bid, but the referee allowed play to go on, and

:01:28. > :01:33.Mikkelsen hammered the ball into the roof of the net. Gary MacKenzie

:01:34. > :01:40.equalised before the break with an impressive header from Stevie

:01:41. > :01:53.Mallan's free kick. The ball was slipped to Tony Andre who slotted it

:01:54. > :01:58.home at 66 minutes. That rule wasn't enforced when you were playing, was

:01:59. > :02:10.it, the goalkeeping? You could pick it up and kick it down the other end

:02:11. > :02:17.of the pitch! And Tony Andreu scoring. That is a big result that

:02:18. > :02:24.puts St Mirren down, second bottom? Depending on how other matches pan

:02:25. > :02:28.out. It would also possibly put United up to second depending on

:02:29. > :02:33.other results. I think they are trying to get some momentum going

:02:34. > :02:39.into the play-offs, they have been a bit up and down in recent weeks. You

:02:40. > :02:44.never know what result they will have. They are trying to find a

:02:45. > :02:50.little bit of form at the right time. United could go second if they

:02:51. > :02:57.win and Falkirk don't, so let's had their next, and speak to Jim Spence.

:02:58. > :03:02.Falkirk are winning, 2-1. Clark put Dunfermline ahead after 35 and it

:03:03. > :03:07.is, but it has been a crazy second-half, Muirhead put Falkirk

:03:08. > :03:24.level from the spot on 53 minutes after the keeper had come out on a

:03:25. > :03:37.polite Hippolyte, and then Morris was sent off. We have a real game on

:03:38. > :03:44.our hands here. Falkirk going well here today, and they are just

:03:45. > :03:50.unstoppable, indomitable in that division, they always seem to be up

:03:51. > :03:57.there. I think he has a good balance, Hippolyte at Austin, he has

:03:58. > :04:00.taken a chance on them, brought them in. I was reading in the paper where

:04:01. > :04:07.he was saying that the fans were giving the players... I can't

:04:08. > :04:12.believe that. He has raised the expectation over the last few

:04:13. > :04:15.seasons, is that it? He is a terrific manager, and it is about

:04:16. > :04:21.getting the balance of experience and youth, and Falkirk do it

:04:22. > :04:27.extremely well, but for them to get criticism, can't believe it. Let's

:04:28. > :04:41.find out how Morton are faring, they are home to bottom club air -- Ayr.

:04:42. > :04:44.They are trying to get their play-off place this afternoon, and

:04:45. > :04:48.as results stand, they will do that and make sure they get that play-off

:04:49. > :04:53.and a lot more fixtures towards the end of the season and the chance of

:04:54. > :04:58.promotion. S two are trying to get off bottom spot, and this result

:04:59. > :05:09.won't help them. It has been an insipid game, but we did get two

:05:10. > :05:16.goals in the first half, the first from Morton, Gary Oliver with the

:05:17. > :05:20.cross in, it took a little deflection and landed nicely for

:05:21. > :05:25.Shankland. It is his third goal since joining on loan from Aberdeen

:05:26. > :05:34.in the January window. The equaliser came for Ayr with Craig Moore, a

:05:35. > :05:39.brilliant finish into the far corner, rising all the way from a

:05:40. > :05:44.nice pass to the edge of the box I Michael Rose. 1-1 as things stand,

:05:45. > :05:49.but let's see if there is another goal when it. And let's see how

:05:50. > :05:56.Dumbarton are faring away to Queen of the South, they are fairly safe

:05:57. > :06:01.in mid-table. An interesting afternoon in the championship today,

:06:02. > :06:07.and it is Dumbarton with a precious lead here, they lead 2-1. They were

:06:08. > :06:11.under pressure from the start, Queen of the South played good football

:06:12. > :06:16.for 20 minutes, and then 14 minutes into the game, Stephen Dobbie does

:06:17. > :06:22.what he does and managed to find his way through the players and into the

:06:23. > :06:28.bottom corner to give Queens a 1-0 lead. But that seemed to spur

:06:29. > :06:31.Dumbarton on, and five minutes later they put themselves back level, John

:06:32. > :06:36.Rankin giving away a free kick at the edge of the box, and Sam Stanton

:06:37. > :06:41.with a left foot curler into the top corner past Robinson to make it 1-1.

:06:42. > :06:46.And then Queens under pressure at that point, but it was Conor Murray

:06:47. > :06:52.who hit the base of the post with ten minutes before the break but ten

:06:53. > :07:01.minutes -- three minutes after that, Sam Stanton caused Jo Thomson to

:07:02. > :07:04.clear the ball, he didn't clear it properly, and Robert Thomson was at

:07:05. > :07:09.the back post to head the ball into the back post to give them a 2-1

:07:10. > :07:12.lead. They have been under pressure in the second half but are standing

:07:13. > :07:20.up to the challenge, and have a pressure to one lead.

:07:21. > :07:29.Sandra hit the nail on the head when she said it was a precious 2-1 lead,

:07:30. > :07:35.they will be five points clear of Ayr United, pretty much safe from

:07:36. > :07:38.the automatic relegation spot. And what an achievement that would be.

:07:39. > :07:47.If you look at who was at the bottom at the start of the day, Ayr United,

:07:48. > :07:55.Dumbarton, it is so tough, and there is a lot of quality, and I think

:07:56. > :07:58.Aiken has done a quality job. We were discussing it earlier, because

:07:59. > :08:03.sometimes a different voice in the dressing room. Experience, and the

:08:04. > :08:08.players look up to him also, part-time players will look up to

:08:09. > :08:12.somebody like that coming in. But it is interesting the way the whole

:08:13. > :08:19.thing has gone, two days after the Raith Rovers game, they also play St

:08:20. > :08:22.Mirren and Ayr United, so that is an interesting battle down there, and

:08:23. > :08:30.it will go down to the last game, I would assume. Plenty more drama in a

:08:31. > :08:34.championship this afternoon, but we return to the big story of the day

:08:35. > :08:40.so far, time to find out how Aberdeen reached the final of this

:08:41. > :08:51.year's William Hill spotters cup, here is the whole story described by

:08:52. > :08:55.Stephen Thomson and Liam McLeod. The first of the finalists will be

:08:56. > :09:00.named this afternoon. Two heavyweights going head-to-head,

:09:01. > :09:09.Adam Rooney goes in on the opening minute and that is an unbelievable

:09:10. > :09:13.start for the Dons! Aberdeen court, another mistake, the defence all

:09:14. > :09:22.over the place, and what a composed finish so early in the match from

:09:23. > :09:29.Adam Rooney. Christie sizing it up, he delivers and it is into the net!

:09:30. > :09:35.It is 2-0! Ryan Christie scores from the free kick. That has to go down

:09:36. > :09:39.as a goalkeeping mistake, the goalkeeper gambles thinking it is

:09:40. > :09:40.going into the middle of the box. Christine knew exactly what he was

:09:41. > :09:59.doing. It is Jonny Hayes. Hibs are living a

:10:00. > :10:00.very charmed life at the moment. One more goal, and Aberdeen are through,

:10:01. > :10:14.you would have to say. This is a good run by Boyle, and

:10:15. > :10:18.that is a great ball for Holt, who makes an instant impact, and Hibs

:10:19. > :10:24.are right back in this semifinal! Brilliantly done by the men in green

:10:25. > :10:28.and white. This is what it is all about, magnificent play from Boyle,

:10:29. > :10:31.showing his pace and what a bore into a dangerous area. What an

:10:32. > :10:50.impact from Grant Holt. Aberdeen trying to shut up shop, but

:10:51. > :10:56.it is 2-2! They do not want to let go of this trophy. A brilliant

:10:57. > :11:13.combination on the edge of the and a wonderful finish from McGee och.

:11:14. > :11:23.It is ambitious, but it is deflected into the net! Aberdeen have the lead

:11:24. > :11:34.with six to play. That is as cool as it gets. Tony Hayes hit is more in

:11:35. > :11:39.hope than expectation. Certainly the Scottish football Association here

:11:40. > :11:46.are giving the golden Jonny Hayes. As Martin Boyle chases, in ghost

:11:47. > :11:54.Taylor. He did just enough, didn't he? Just enough. Fantastic defending

:11:55. > :11:58.from Taylor to put mark boil off. Hibs are heading out of the cup

:11:59. > :12:12.unless they can score from this corner. Marciano wins it, but Lewis

:12:13. > :12:18.holds on. That was a very decent header from the goalkeeper, and a

:12:19. > :12:22.fine save from Lewis. We will hear from Pat and Derek and their

:12:23. > :12:26.opinions are little later, but let's hear what both managers had to say

:12:27. > :12:37.after today's game, they spoke to Chris Mitchell clone. Fantastic

:12:38. > :12:42.start. 13 seconds, and Adam calmly puts the ball away. There was a

:12:43. > :12:48.little wobble, anxiety, as you would do, and I thought we were good value

:12:49. > :12:53.in that opening half an hour. I think at 2-0 it was a fair

:12:54. > :12:58.reflection of the game. We were sharp and all over Hibs, they never

:12:59. > :13:03.got any real flow into the game. Not good enough from us, the first 30

:13:04. > :13:07.minutes was unacceptable, it was nothing to do with tactics or

:13:08. > :13:15.formation, it was decision-making and individual errors. We needed the

:13:16. > :13:20.36-year-old to come on and get his play in, and we did, and scored two

:13:21. > :13:24.fabulous goals and were in the ascendancy. We didn't deserve to

:13:25. > :13:30.lose the game, but you can't give a team like Aberdeen a 2-0 head start.

:13:31. > :13:35.They made it a proper game, and it was end-to-end at times. We were not

:13:36. > :13:41.sure where it was going to go but thankfully it went our way, and we

:13:42. > :13:45.are decided to get through to the final. Delighted for the supporters,

:13:46. > :13:49.our last memory here at Hampden was a sobering one, and we felt we had a

:13:50. > :13:53.lot of making up to do after that final. Today's performance and the

:13:54. > :14:00.way the players have reacted since the turn of the year suggests that

:14:01. > :14:04.we are good side, and already helpful for this final when it comes

:14:05. > :14:09.around. We go away with loads of regret, we are as good as Aberdeen

:14:10. > :14:14.if not better, so it will be a long couple of weeks because the

:14:15. > :14:19.championships are over and we can enjoy the celebration, but I felt

:14:20. > :14:27.that we were good to get final and eat Aberdeen. Plenty to talk about.

:14:28. > :14:32.The game itself and the managers' reactions. Neil Lennon said his team

:14:33. > :14:40.didn't deserve to lose, do you agree with that? I'm not so sure. He was

:14:41. > :14:43.quite right to have a go at his team in the first half an hour, that was

:14:44. > :14:48.unacceptable the way they started the game. They seemed to not have

:14:49. > :14:53.the focus and intensity in their game, and they paid the ultimate

:14:54. > :14:59.price, conceding two goals. The first one in 12 seconds! I have been

:15:00. > :15:02.raving about John McGinn all season, and I can't fathom at why he tries

:15:03. > :15:07.to take on three or four Aberdeen players. You don't need to take a

:15:08. > :15:11.little touch of the centre, you can knock it back to any of the

:15:12. > :15:16.defenders, even back to the goalkeeper, give yourself distance.

:15:17. > :15:19.It is very unlike John McGinn, because of his decision-making is

:15:20. > :15:25.normally spot on, but there is time to recover, but they make another

:15:26. > :15:31.mistake. McGregor is defensively sound, as a ballplaying centre-half,

:15:32. > :15:36.no, so just clear your lines. I thought it was a fantastic finish.

:15:37. > :15:43.Aberdeen came flying out of the traps. They did. I did not think

:15:44. > :15:52.they played fantastic football but they worked really hard. Hibs

:15:53. > :15:57.invited Aberdeen onto them. The two centre halves were almost ten yards

:15:58. > :16:01.from each other. I am talking about Hibs now. They were trying to pass

:16:02. > :16:07.the ball. I don't know why. Aberdeen were right on them like a flash. If

:16:08. > :16:11.you are pressing within an area of about 20 yards, you will do it all

:16:12. > :16:18.day. They should have opened up and created more space for themselves. I

:16:19. > :16:23.think they tried to be too clever. It is not about that, you start that

:16:24. > :16:31.game... Get the ball forward, squeeze it up. It is about the first

:16:32. > :16:36.5-10 minutes. They didn't start properly and they paid the price.

:16:37. > :16:44.They were a couple of goals down after that Ryan Christie free kick.

:16:45. > :16:49.Was it the wall to blame or a stroke of genius? I will stand up for the

:16:50. > :16:54.goalkeeper but I still have two call it as I see it. I would be setting

:16:55. > :17:01.the wall up to protect that near post. That allows me to take the

:17:02. > :17:07.extra yard. I would normally not do that in open play. I think when the

:17:08. > :17:11.player breaks, it almost puts the player off. He takes an extra yard

:17:12. > :17:19.and that is what created the opportunity. Ryan Christie said

:17:20. > :17:24.somewhere that... I don't believe that for a second. He knew right

:17:25. > :17:27.away he was going to put it front post. You will stick up for the

:17:28. > :17:32.goalkeeper but I don't think from that distance at that angle A

:17:33. > :17:36.goalkeeper should be beaten there. We will come back to this and talk

:17:37. > :17:42.about it at length but we have to break off and head to Tannadice.

:17:43. > :17:53.There is some drama. A crucial goal this could be. An equaliser for St

:17:54. > :17:58.Mirren. The ball came back and a left foot shot high into the roof of

:17:59. > :18:02.the net. Four minutes left to play. It is now all square. What a crucial

:18:03. > :18:09.goal that could be in a couple of weeks' time. A crucial goal right

:18:10. > :18:17.now. We will talk about that later. We will go back to Aberdeen against

:18:18. > :18:21.Hibs. If you were in an open play situation and somebody tried hitting

:18:22. > :18:33.a shot like that at you, you don't get beat but with a free kick, you

:18:34. > :18:37.use the wall. I am not sure... They are anticipating the ball going to

:18:38. > :18:42.the Aberdeen player at the edge of the box. You stand your ground and

:18:43. > :18:47.wait for the ball to be played. I still think the goalkeeper should

:18:48. > :18:53.have enough about him to recover. At that stage, it looked as though all

:18:54. > :18:57.was lost for Hibs. Neil Lennon took off a midfielder and brought on a

:18:58. > :19:03.veteran striker. They were getting overrun in the middle of the park. I

:19:04. > :19:17.think it was unacceptable. They had to make a change. He had to make the

:19:18. > :19:31.change. It was the correct decision. I don't see... You have got to

:19:32. > :19:37.accept it. Grant Holt was on the touchline. I think he was

:19:38. > :19:41.disappointed to get taken off so early in the game. But Grant Holt

:19:42. > :19:45.was able to roam down the sides and it created an opportunity for Hibs

:19:46. > :19:52.to play further forward up the pitch. And what a good goal to get

:19:53. > :19:58.them back into the game. I think it was boiled taking on players.

:19:59. > :20:05.Suddenly they were finding players on the ball further up the pitch and

:20:06. > :20:14.then they could go on... You have got to get your good players in the

:20:15. > :20:17.right areas. Boyle is one of those. That was a brilliant cross. The

:20:18. > :20:21.goalkeeper had no chance. I know Willie Miller was saying the

:20:22. > :20:28.defender should have done better but it was brilliant. I think the

:20:29. > :20:34.difference was when they made the change, Hibs went a little bit more

:20:35. > :20:38.direct. We thought they were just going to pass. Aberdeen new that and

:20:39. > :20:44.they jumped on them. Grant Holt scored one and played a big part in

:20:45. > :20:50.the second as well. It was anybody's game from that point. It took a

:20:51. > :20:54.little bit of good luck from the Aberdeen point of view and terrible

:20:55. > :21:02.luck for Hibs for the winner. Hold that thought. Do we have a goal? We

:21:03. > :21:11.do. Less than 90 seconds left to play and Dundee United are back in

:21:12. > :21:16.front. Spittal drilling the ball into the back of the night. I cannot

:21:17. > :21:23.see St Mirren fighting back for a third time this afternoon. Ending on

:21:24. > :21:34.a rhetorical question. I will not answer that one. It was a wicked

:21:35. > :21:39.deflection. It is a sore one but it was a toss of a coin. Who is going

:21:40. > :21:44.to go on and win the game. I just think Neil Lennon was absolutely

:21:45. > :21:49.correct in stating his players because you cannot afford to go up

:21:50. > :21:54.against a like Aberdeen and start in that manner in the first half an

:21:55. > :22:01.hour. It was either going to be a little bit of luck or a magnificent

:22:02. > :22:04.goal from 30 yards. Aberdeen will be delighted. They did not play

:22:05. > :22:10.brilliantly. They got three goals and they are in the final again. And

:22:11. > :22:13.that is what matters. When it comes to semifinals, it is not matter how

:22:14. > :22:18.you play, getting to the final is all that matters. We are now

:22:19. > :22:23.returning to East End Park. Jim Spence is about to tell as it is

:22:24. > :22:29.full-time. It is indeed. It was a wild second half. A huge three

:22:30. > :22:38.points for Falkirk. They trailed at half-time. The second half was

:22:39. > :22:44.torrid. Muirhead scored from the penalty spot after the keeper was

:22:45. > :22:56.judged to have pulled the striker down. On the 68 minutes, Falkirk

:22:57. > :23:07.went ahead. Nathan Austin headed in a cross. The referee 's performance

:23:08. > :23:12.incensed the home crowd. He is being booed off the pitch. Falkirk are in

:23:13. > :23:20.pole position as the play-offs head to a really interesting conclusion.

:23:21. > :23:27.Yes, chaps. Falkirk will be in pole position with the last two rounds of

:23:28. > :23:34.fixtures in the championship. A vital win. They are in the box seat.

:23:35. > :23:37.Yes, fair play. It is a time of the season when results matter and you

:23:38. > :23:44.want to finish as high up as possible because I think last year,

:23:45. > :23:49.David, they just ran out of legs. That will be a trend as experience

:23:50. > :23:54.for them. Yes, Peter Huston will know that and he will say, we need

:23:55. > :23:59.to finish second. We paid the price last year. Let's get the job done.

:24:00. > :24:03.You mentioned earlier, momentum. If you have the momentum in the last

:24:04. > :24:06.couple of games, take it into the play-offs, you have a real chance.

:24:07. > :24:10.The experience of last year will put them in a fantastic situation.

:24:11. > :24:24.Another full-time in the championship. Thanks, David. It was

:24:25. > :24:29.all square. Mission accomplished. Morton sealing a play-off space as

:24:30. > :24:31.long as nothing unusual happens down at Queen of the South and with

:24:32. > :24:34.Dunfermline losing as well, it means that Morton in fourth place are nine

:24:35. > :24:47.points clear of Dunfermline in fifth with only nine points left to play

:24:48. > :24:52.for. Shanklin on loan from Aberdeen scored for Greenock Morton in the

:24:53. > :24:57.35th minute. It was a finish from six yards. The cross was deflected

:24:58. > :25:01.and it fell kindly for him. It looked like they were told that lead

:25:02. > :25:06.into half-time but at the end of the first half, it was a brilliant

:25:07. > :25:10.strike by on loan Motherwell striker, Craig Moore, from the edge

:25:11. > :25:20.of the box. Into the far top left-hand corner. That made it all

:25:21. > :25:23.square at half-time. In the second half, it never really got going

:25:24. > :25:28.until the last five minutes or so before full-time. Devon had a good

:25:29. > :25:37.chance for Ayr United. A scramble ensued. But it was Morton who

:25:38. > :25:41.succeeded in clearing it. It finishes all square. Ayr United will

:25:42. > :25:45.be happy that St Mirren have lost. But they will not be happy to see

:25:46. > :25:51.Dunbarton looking like they will take the full three points. Another

:25:52. > :25:57.full-time, Queen of the South versus Dumbarton. Yes, a valuable win for

:25:58. > :26:02.Dumbarton. They came from behind to pick up a deserved three points.

:26:03. > :26:06.They have been up against it but they took their chances and they

:26:07. > :26:20.defended well. They fell behind after 14 minutes. Dobbie giving them

:26:21. > :26:23.the lead. Conor Murray almost restored the lead before the break

:26:24. > :26:29.but his effort came back off the base of the post. Three minutes

:26:30. > :26:33.later, Dumbarton moves ahead. Robert Thompson heading home. Into the

:26:34. > :26:37.second half and Queen of the South had the better chances but Dumbarton

:26:38. > :26:42.cut out any danger and it is who them will leave here with the

:26:43. > :26:45.all-important win. They may well have secured their place in the

:26:46. > :26:57.championship for next season. Let's head back to Tannadice. Dundee

:26:58. > :26:59.United the winners in front of a crowd of over 6000. They certainly

:27:00. > :27:03.received their money 's worth this afternoon. This game had just about

:27:04. > :27:12.everything. Controversial decisions, great goals and some real bad

:27:13. > :27:20.decisions from the referee. Dundee United in front after seven minutes.

:27:21. > :27:27.Mickelson with the goal. He appeared to go in very hard on Gary McKenzie.

:27:28. > :27:29.Gary McKenzie equalised just before half-time. Dundee United back in

:27:30. > :27:47.front after 66 minutes. St Mirren equalised with just four

:27:48. > :27:51.minutes left. Josh Todd with a left foot shot that rifle tie into the

:27:52. > :27:57.roof of the net but Dundee United were not to be denied and Spittal

:27:58. > :28:01.drilled the ball low beyond the goalkeeper and into the back of the

:28:02. > :28:05.net. What a game this has been. St Mirren now second bottom of the

:28:06. > :28:12.table. Dundee United still looking for that second top place in the

:28:13. > :28:22.play-offs. Sounds an absolute cracker with implications at both

:28:23. > :28:29.ends of the table. St Mirren have been on an incredible run. We talked

:28:30. > :28:33.about bad word momentum. Just at the vital time, confidence also comes

:28:34. > :28:39.into it. All of those things. It will be a fight between Ayr United

:28:40. > :28:43.and St Mirren now. For bottom spot. Dumbarton, that was a great result

:28:44. > :28:48.for them and it gets them a little away from it. Raith Rovers are the

:28:49. > :28:59.team that has to play these teams. I think that is Spittal 's first goal

:29:00. > :29:03.this season. An important one. The interesting thing is Hibs. They were

:29:04. > :29:11.going to celebration mode and they have big games to play. I don't

:29:12. > :29:18.think Neil Lennon will allow that. It is very hard. If they had a cup

:29:19. > :29:21.final to play for, it is just a natural occurrence. Some of those

:29:22. > :29:26.players also know next year they will not be there. They will be

:29:27. > :29:31.moving on. And they have got big games to play against some of these

:29:32. > :29:35.teams right down at the bottom. He has to be fair to all these teams.

:29:36. > :29:43.He has to play players that are hungry that have a point to prove.

:29:44. > :29:47.Hibs will play a huge part in who will be staying up and who will get

:29:48. > :29:48.in the play-offs. That takes us nicely to the classified results

:29:49. > :29:59.round-up. We start with the William Hill

:30:00. > :30:06.Scottish Cup. The other tie is tomorrow when

:30:07. > :32:23.Celtic play Rangers. Port Vale against Bolton Wanderers

:32:24. > :33:03.is a latest score. Let's have a look at the tables,

:33:04. > :33:17.starting with the championship. Hibs are confirmed champions, that

:33:18. > :33:25.will cheer them up after today's defeat by Aberdeen in the cup.

:33:26. > :33:32.The pressure is still on in the race for second, Morton confirmed in the

:33:33. > :33:37.play-off spots, they are in fourth. And it is getting interesting at the

:33:38. > :33:43.bottom, just two points between Ayr United and St Mirren.

:33:44. > :33:50.No game today for a Raith Rovers, they play Hibs in midweek.

:33:51. > :34:09.Alloa Athletic confirmed in the play-off spots, but still lots to

:34:10. > :34:14.play for, third, fourth, fifth and sixth all level on points.

:34:15. > :34:21.Stenhousemuir would have been relegated if they had lost, to

:34:22. > :34:28.Peterhead, but they didn't so they are now two points behind them. And

:34:29. > :34:35.the title still up for grabs in League 2, between Forfar and

:34:36. > :34:39.Arbroath. At the bottom, Cowdenbeath three points behind Berwick Rangers.

:34:40. > :34:44.And the top of the English Premier League:

:34:45. > :34:51.The highest ranking teams in action so far this weekend Everton, they

:34:52. > :34:57.had a goalless draw against West Ham and so failed to draw level with

:34:58. > :35:02.Manchester United. None of the big guns were in play. And at the bottom

:35:03. > :35:05.three, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Swansea City other teams in

:35:06. > :35:10.relegation hot water at the moment. And the championship:

:35:11. > :35:15.Brighton already guaranteed promotion, Newcastle not in action

:35:16. > :35:25.until Monday. Rotherham United are already

:35:26. > :35:32.relegated, they won today but it didn't make much difference.

:35:33. > :35:37.Let's head back to the English Premier League and find out what

:35:38. > :35:44.happened when born Smith met struggling Middlesbrough this

:35:45. > :35:50.afternoon. -- Bournemouth. COMMENTATOR: They are now nine

:35:51. > :35:57.points adrift of safety, it could all be over prematurely for Steve

:35:58. > :36:04.Agnew's side, they were outfoxed by aid battering Bournemouth side.

:36:05. > :36:08.Gaston Ramirez got sent off for two yellow cards inside the first 20

:36:09. > :36:12.minutes, the second a needless challenge on Marc Pugh who are

:36:13. > :36:20.undoubtedly was Bournemouth's star player, magnificent on his 200th

:36:21. > :36:24.appearance for the Cherries. Charlie Daniels added the fourth late on.

:36:25. > :36:30.Bournemouth needed the win with Hull and Swansea looking set for victory

:36:31. > :36:36.this afternoon. The Middlesbrough there may be no way back. Let's find

:36:37. > :36:46.out what happened between Hull City and Watford.

:36:47. > :36:51.COMMENTATOR: Hull won 2-0, they recovered from the controversial

:36:52. > :37:00.early red card of Niasse. He went for an innocuous looking tackle, and

:37:01. > :37:04.Hull soaked up the pressure before breaking away to open the scoring.

:37:05. > :37:09.Sam Clucas doubled the lead, brilliant left foot volley, and

:37:10. > :37:15.despite results elsewhere, Hull stay out of the bottom three. And now to

:37:16. > :37:23.Wales, and the Liberty Stadium, where Swansea City were at home to

:37:24. > :37:28.Stoke City this afternoon. Swansea have beaten Stoke 2-0, a vital win

:37:29. > :37:32.from Swansea's point of view. They remain in the same position as they

:37:33. > :37:42.were before kick-off, and they deserve better for their record.

:37:43. > :37:51.Llorente swung it their way, and there was a penalty after Shakira

:37:52. > :37:56.Baker was brought down in the area. Swansea as it stands through the

:37:57. > :38:00.relegation zone, but it will do good for their confidence.

:38:01. > :38:03.And the relegation battle in that division really hotting up, but

:38:04. > :38:10.Bournemouth have done themselves a power of good today, a 4-0 win over

:38:11. > :38:16.Middlesbrough takes them up to 12 in the table, and they are looking

:38:17. > :38:20.safe. They are safe, they are fantastic little club, they have

:38:21. > :38:25.done so well. We were in the same division as them when I was with

:38:26. > :38:30.Reading, and where they have come to know is quite incredible. I think it

:38:31. > :38:36.is somewhere you go on your holidays! The manager is doing

:38:37. > :38:44.fantastically. It is the brand of football they play. Not much of a

:38:45. > :38:50.holiday for Middlesbrough today! Second bottom is looking grim, seven

:38:51. > :38:53.behind Swansea. The north-east isn't faring too well at the moment,

:38:54. > :38:59.because Sunderland and Middlesbrough looked doomed. The only sweetener

:39:00. > :39:03.would be if Newcastle get themselves back up. It is interesting with

:39:04. > :39:10.Sunderland's running, they have to play all the some teams, and the

:39:11. > :39:16.last two at Chelsea and Arsenal. And then it is one spot up for grabs if

:39:17. > :39:20.Middlesbrough have gone. Hull City, a good win for them today, but they

:39:21. > :39:26.are not out of the woods because Swansea got a good result as well.

:39:27. > :39:32.Yes, their manager has been all over the place with Bayern Munich and

:39:33. > :39:36.Madrid, back again into the pressure zone, but he will have to call on

:39:37. > :39:42.all his experience to try to get this team galvanised to get them up,

:39:43. > :39:46.but that was a great result. Hull are out on the coast on their own,

:39:47. > :39:49.you want to see them maybe try to stay up also. Let's head up the

:39:50. > :39:52.table and little and find out what happened between West Ham and

:39:53. > :40:02.Everton. COMMENTATOR: No goals, but a point

:40:03. > :40:06.apiece. Slaven Bilic's players did him proud, and with better accuracy

:40:07. > :40:12.they could have won through Lanzini and Fernandez. They look like they

:40:13. > :40:16.were only thinking of the beach in Greece, just the one shot and that

:40:17. > :40:24.not until the 70th minute, Lukaku marginalised by a lack of service,

:40:25. > :40:29.not a game to remember. We will skip over that and go

:40:30. > :40:32.straight to look at the FA Cup semifinals, a couple of absolute

:40:33. > :40:37.crackers, the first of which is tonight. You can watch it on the BBC

:40:38. > :40:45.but not until after you have watched the end of this show! Chelsea,

:40:46. > :40:49.league leaders, against Tottenham. I think Tottenham need the result

:40:50. > :40:55.here. They need to put out into Chelsea's minds. I know it is the

:40:56. > :41:00.cup, but Tottenham have a tough run in, Chelsea have the better run in,

:41:01. > :41:04.but they have struggled in the last couple of games, and that little

:41:05. > :41:07.doubt just causes someone to happen, and if Tottenham could get one over

:41:08. > :41:13.them today, that would be a big momentum for them. Most certainly,

:41:14. > :41:18.they were outplayed against Manchester United, not just on the

:41:19. > :41:22.park but maybe you could see the two managers, Antonio Conte took the

:41:23. > :41:27.blame, and sometimes in this day and age, you don't see managers of that

:41:28. > :41:32.ilk coming out and taking the blame, so I think he will get it spot on.

:41:33. > :41:35.The disappointment from Tottenham's perspective over the last couple of

:41:36. > :41:39.years, they were in great positions, but they blew it, and is that

:41:40. > :41:45.mentality thing, can they get over that barrier this year? They had a

:41:46. > :41:47.real chance, but there was something, five International

:41:48. > :41:53.English players in the team, and I think there is something up here. On

:41:54. > :41:57.the BBC Weather Centre, it said the last player to score a goal for them

:41:58. > :42:02.in the semifinals was Paul Gascoigne.

:42:03. > :42:06.The other match is a cracker as well, Manchester City against

:42:07. > :42:17.Arsenal. Does Arsene Wenger need to win this one? He has to. If not, it

:42:18. > :42:27.is season over. They are calling it a Wexit if he doesn't! If not, I

:42:28. > :42:33.think they should be looking to move on, if they don't win. They have to

:42:34. > :42:36.win trophies, and the league is something they would want to win,

:42:37. > :42:39.but they have to put a trophy in the Cabinet and if they do do it, he

:42:40. > :42:43.will be under severe pressure. I don't know whether he has made up

:42:44. > :42:49.his mind yet, that story about whether he will stay. It hasn't come

:42:50. > :42:57.out yet. I'm sure an FA Cup win will persuade him. Bid could go both

:42:58. > :43:01.ways. We will stay talking about semifinals, but it is time for you

:43:02. > :43:06.to kick your old brains into gear as we focus on tomorrow's Scottish Cup

:43:07. > :43:10.semifinal, Celtic versus Rangers at Hampden for a place in the final

:43:11. > :43:16.against Aberdeen. It is an Old Firm debut for Pedro Caixinha. The

:43:17. > :43:20.Portuguese says he is not thinking about it as his first experience of

:43:21. > :43:24.the Derby, but rather is preparing his team to play one of the

:43:25. > :43:42.strongest opponents they can. The two are not mutually exclusive. Arm

:43:43. > :43:46.wrestle! Caixinha watched the last Old Firm match from the stand, would

:43:47. > :43:54.that have given him a taste? A different ball game tomorrow. It is

:43:55. > :43:57.a huge ask tomorrow. I think he has done his homework, not just in the

:43:58. > :44:01.game tomorrow but in Scottish football, it has been well

:44:02. > :44:06.documented but he is going to find out what it is a like. He is really

:44:07. > :44:13.up against it, has he got the players that can hurt Celtic? He has

:44:14. > :44:19.got to come up with that ticks, going to have to find a way to hurt

:44:20. > :44:23.them, and that will be difficult because they are on this

:44:24. > :44:29.unbelievable run, unbeaten. I think they will take confidence they got

:44:30. > :44:32.the result, that 1-1 draw. And I think the pitch will suit Celtic

:44:33. > :44:40.because they well enjoy playing on that pitch. Will they press high up

:44:41. > :44:45.the pitch? I doubt it. So if they don't, that allows Celtic lots of

:44:46. > :44:50.possession. If they go toe to toe with Celtic tomorrow, they will come

:44:51. > :44:53.off second best, so they have to find another way, and the last Old

:44:54. > :45:00.Firm game, there was another side to Rangers. On the one button, they

:45:01. > :45:07.were pleasing to the eye. -- under Mark Warburton they were pleasing to

:45:08. > :45:11.the eye. Is that it, the attitude and determination? And Brendan

:45:12. > :45:15.Rodgers said that Rangers under Caixinha a little more direct, they

:45:16. > :45:20.will go behind, they were so predictable under Mark Warburton,

:45:21. > :45:23.but I think with Caixinha, you know, I think they will take heart from

:45:24. > :45:27.the game at Aberdeen. At times they were under pressure and didn't have

:45:28. > :45:33.a lot from the ball, but they hung on and got the three goals in the

:45:34. > :45:38.last 12 minutes. And what was Brendan Rodgers saying about Pedro?

:45:39. > :45:44.Let's hear from him, and Old Firm veteran compared to his Rangers

:45:45. > :45:48.counterpart. He says Caixinha's Rangers are different.

:45:49. > :45:56.He has made a good start, some good results, but yes, just looking and

:45:57. > :46:03.studying how they have been playing and working, a little bit more

:46:04. > :46:10.direct in their game. Like I say, there is no right or wrong way. You

:46:11. > :46:14.set up your team to get a result. Yes, these games, no matter what the

:46:15. > :46:19.form is like, no matter how you arrive into the game, they are

:46:20. > :46:22.always tough games and the last game at Hampden Park between the two

:46:23. > :46:28.teams, we played very, very well and came through. If we can play as well

:46:29. > :46:33.and get the result, we will be happy. He nearly said the form book

:46:34. > :46:40.goes out of the window. Is that always the case? We have been

:46:41. > :46:43.through it many times and sometimes you are playing really well and you

:46:44. > :46:48.coming to an Old Firm game and it does not happen for you. There is

:46:49. > :46:53.that unpredictability about this game but I just think you look at

:46:54. > :46:56.Celtic now and you look at them and it is very hard to look past them

:46:57. > :46:59.and say they will struggle in the game. There are periods in the game

:47:00. > :47:04.when they might struggle but they always have something. They have

:47:05. > :47:10.quality players. Depending on who they play, Roberts has the ability.

:47:11. > :47:21.Dembele will be looking forward. He is a big-time player. It depends on

:47:22. > :47:24.that. Similar to the last meeting of the two teams in the league at

:47:25. > :47:30.Celtic Park when everybody said Celtic would be too strong and here

:47:31. > :47:34.is what happened on that occasion. Yes, certainly middle to front,

:47:35. > :47:46.Celtic are superior but I think Celtic can be got at at the back, in

:47:47. > :47:52.my opinion. But as we are seeing watching this, I think at times,

:47:53. > :47:58.that defence at Celtic lose a little bit of focus and discipline. Can

:47:59. > :48:04.Rangers capitalise on that? That is the big question. He has been

:48:05. > :48:10.shifting them around. He has gone with three at the back, and with

:48:11. > :48:16.four at the back. I think you should go with Boyata and play with a

:48:17. > :48:21.three. I think they have the pace and the height to defend OK.

:48:22. > :48:30.Caixinha says every team has a weakness. Yes, and that is what you

:48:31. > :48:38.look for. I certainly think that Brendan Rodgers will look at Rangers

:48:39. > :48:45.defence and he will target them. But vice versa, what I would say, I

:48:46. > :48:50.would look at maybe Boyata. And I think in my opinion at times they do

:48:51. > :48:56.switch off, they lack defensively. That is just what I think. Caixinha

:48:57. > :49:00.may see something in that but the question is, can Rangers get the

:49:01. > :49:08.ball in those areas? Because I think Celtic will dominate. And Rangers

:49:09. > :49:14.will set off a little bit. If I was playing against Scott Brown... I

:49:15. > :49:20.would be seeing how he reacts. You don't want to see him do what he did

:49:21. > :49:25.last week. That was outrageous. Let's have a look at what happened

:49:26. > :49:30.roughly this time last year when the teams met in the same competition.

:49:31. > :49:35.You have to categorise this as an upset. Maybe a wake-up call for

:49:36. > :49:42.Celtic if they have a look at this. Of course it can happen. It is an

:49:43. > :49:45.Old Firm game. Players have got to handle the pressure. When you are in

:49:46. > :49:52.that dressing room leading into a cup semifinal and you are not at

:49:53. > :49:56.home, a neutral ground for both teams, you have to handle all of

:49:57. > :50:01.those things. And yes, Rangers will be looking back on more of these

:50:02. > :50:04.things and thinking, it went to penalties and they came out on top

:50:05. > :50:10.but it is a different Celtic team now. They had moved onto different

:50:11. > :50:14.level. There is a lot of emotion that goes into this game. It is the

:50:15. > :50:17.players that can handle that, the energy that is there within the

:50:18. > :50:23.ground tomorrow. It'll unbelievable. You have to view that in the right

:50:24. > :50:26.way and channel that and keep the emotions in check. That is what we

:50:27. > :50:31.are saying with Scott Brown. Sometimes he does lose it a little

:50:32. > :50:33.bit. You have got all of those things within the group of players

:50:34. > :50:40.but you have to have focus and composure. You have to play with the

:50:41. > :50:45.head and not the heart at times and good players do that. This fellow

:50:46. > :50:48.plays with the head and the heart, Kenny Miller, he has been there for

:50:49. > :50:56.a long time. The most experienced Old Firm player on the pitch. He is

:50:57. > :51:01.in excellent form. Technically, that is absolutely first class. He leads

:51:02. > :51:06.by example. At the ripe old age of 37, fit as a fiddle but he has that

:51:07. > :51:11.composter. Give him one chance and he will take it. If Rangers have any

:51:12. > :51:18.chance, they have to take the chances. And he can do that. That is

:51:19. > :51:22.for sure. We have seen it when he was at Celtic and Rangers. And he is

:51:23. > :51:27.an angry man at times. If players on that part cannot producing the

:51:28. > :51:35.goods, he lets them know and you need leaders and sometimes you need

:51:36. > :51:38.that as well as a little composure. He may well be Rangers' main goal

:51:39. > :51:46.threat but this chap is one of Celtic 's main threats. He likes to

:51:47. > :51:51.score against Rangers. Yes, he is a young kid but he came on, he was out

:51:52. > :51:59.injured for a couple of games, they missed him and he did... As soon as

:52:00. > :52:03.he came on, you could see the difference in the way that Celtic

:52:04. > :52:10.play. He is physically strong and he can score goals. When I saw him at

:52:11. > :52:13.the start of the year, I was just... A few questions but the way he has

:52:14. > :52:18.matured and developed as a player, he leads the line and he is hungry

:52:19. > :52:23.for goals. He can come short and he can run the channel. He is an

:52:24. > :52:30.all-round player. That is the beauty of Dembele. He is getting better. He

:52:31. > :52:33.is a powerhouse. Talking about the weaknesses of Celtic, there are

:52:34. > :52:39.their strengths right there. Right, guys. Do you want to arm wrestle?

:52:40. > :52:43.Give me a prediction. I will go with my heart and I think Rangers will

:52:44. > :52:51.need to play at their absolute maximum. And they will need a large

:52:52. > :52:57.slice of luck that they may just do it. They are really up against it. I

:52:58. > :53:02.am confident that Celtic will do it. The trouble is such a big prize and

:53:03. > :53:06.they are two steps away from it. There is live coverage of the

:53:07. > :53:12.semifinal against Celtic -- between Celtic and Rangers tomorrow. It is

:53:13. > :53:21.also online and on digital. And they will be highlights tomorrow at 6pm.

:53:22. > :53:25.That is pretty much your Sunday sorted out. Gentlemen, we know what

:53:26. > :53:29.we will be doing tomorrow. Let's just refresh ourselves and remind

:53:30. > :53:35.ourselves what happened in the other semifinal, the game at Hamden Park

:53:36. > :53:42.today. Aberdeen beating Hibs and an absolute belter of a match. Action

:53:43. > :53:45.from start to finish. Hibs had no plan at the start of the game and I

:53:46. > :53:51.thought the referee did well to let the play goal. A brilliant finish

:53:52. > :53:59.but Hibs got themselves in all sorts of problems. I cannot see... The

:54:00. > :54:03.goalkeeper should get across. But let's not take it away from

:54:04. > :54:11.Christie, a fantastic finish. But credit to Aberdeen. They jumped on

:54:12. > :54:17.Hibs. That was a fantastic cross. The amount of space and time that

:54:18. > :54:21.they had to run with the ball here. Brilliant play from Grant Holt.

:54:22. > :54:28.Lovely centre forward play. A wonderful lay-off. They will be

:54:29. > :54:35.disappointed with this in midfield. But that is a hard one. It is a huge

:54:36. > :54:40.slice of luck but he makes that luck. The players are closing him

:54:41. > :54:45.down. If you don't try your luck, you don't score. I don't think

:54:46. > :54:50.McGregor even tries to block it. The spin just takes it inside that post.

:54:51. > :54:57.We can now hear from some of the players after the match. When he

:54:58. > :55:01.stepped up to take that free kick, were you always going for the near

:55:02. > :55:06.post? I wasn't until Adam Rooney came in and had a word in my year.

:55:07. > :55:14.He told me to have a look at the goalkeeper and try a shot. I am

:55:15. > :55:21.happy it went in. Are you claiming the winner? Yes, it was going top

:55:22. > :55:27.corner. Any way it goes in, we will take it. So late in the game, it did

:55:28. > :55:31.not give Hibs a chance to hit back. A brilliant season so far.

:55:32. > :55:37.Disappointment from the last cup final. We wanted to be here again

:55:38. > :55:42.come the end of the season fighting for another trophy. We are looking

:55:43. > :55:48.forward to it. Celtic or Rangers, you will fancy your chances. You

:55:49. > :55:52.have to be confident. Whoever comes through tomorrow it'll be a tough

:55:53. > :56:00.game. We will be looking forward to it. We are delighted to be a part of

:56:01. > :56:04.the final. It'll be a strange one for you if Celtic get through. You

:56:05. > :56:08.will not be able to play. Yes, a few people have been in my year about

:56:09. > :56:13.that but coming into this game, I was just concentrating on helping

:56:14. > :56:18.Aberdeen get to the final. We will see who we face tomorrow. Like I

:56:19. > :56:21.said, delighted I have managed to help Aberdeen Ritchie file.

:56:22. > :56:28.Gentleman, put yourselves in Ryan Christie 's shoes. If Celtic get

:56:29. > :56:32.there, he will be cup tied and he will not be able to play for them.

:56:33. > :56:37.It is his parent club. Who will he be rooting for? That is a good

:56:38. > :56:43.question. I think he will be rooting for Celtic because he is in that

:56:44. > :56:49.dressing room. That is his club. Whether he will find a place in that

:56:50. > :56:57.Celtic team in the future, he may have to move on. I don't think he

:56:58. > :57:00.will be a first-team regular. He should look after himself and hope

:57:01. > :57:10.that Rangers win tomorrow? That may well be. They let themselves down a

:57:11. > :57:14.little bit in the League Cup final. They were shocking against Celtic

:57:15. > :57:18.and they did not deserve to be anywhere near it. I think that is

:57:19. > :57:20.what will be on the back of their minds. They will want to be up for

:57:21. > :57:26.that. They will have to perform on the day. That is the question

:57:27. > :57:32.against Aberdeen, can they produce it on the big day? They nearly blew

:57:33. > :57:38.it today. They had a huge slice of luck. They won't want to be

:57:39. > :57:45.runners-up once again. As a player, you want to win medals. But it is a

:57:46. > :57:47.huge ask. Gents, I am afraid that is it for today. Time for a quick dash

:57:48. > :58:13.through the results once again. Congratulations to Aberdeen. A big

:58:14. > :58:23.win for Dundee United. Falkirk are in second. A huge win for Dumbarton.

:58:24. > :58:33.Right, all the talking points of the day are about to be sliced, diced,

:58:34. > :58:39.swallowed and regurgitated. That is on BBC radio Scotland. Give them a

:58:40. > :58:47.call or text or e-mail. The results show returns next week. That is it

:58:48. > :58:59.from us. Thank you to my guests and thank you for watching.

:59:00. > :59:05.this super-sized hospital has been transforming lives in Scotland.

:59:06. > :59:10.He said it had been grown in America.

:59:11. > :59:13.There's nowhere else in Scotland that could have done

:59:14. > :59:16.everything that we've done. Yes, there's the sad times,

:59:17. > :59:19.but we get to see people with happy endings.

:59:20. > :59:32.For your next football fix, head over to CBBC now,

:59:33. > :59:37.where Jamie Johnson is dreaming of being the next big name.
