:00:09. > :00:19.This could be something quite sensational! Right out of the top

:00:20. > :00:26.drawer. The shot is an absolute beauty. Oh, yes!

:00:27. > :00:48.What a finish. Right here, right now, this is history.

:00:49. > :00:57.Aberdeen/ Rangers, that is pretty intense. It is a magnificent goal

:00:58. > :01:02.for Rangers. Certainly an Aberdeen/ Rangers game, everybody gets carried

:01:03. > :01:09.away. A very hostile place to go, it is a massive game. You knew what it

:01:10. > :01:17.meant to the fans, you just wanted to win. A full-blooded that'll.

:01:18. > :01:20.Battle. Good evening and welcome

:01:21. > :01:21.to Sportscene. The Aberdeen/Rangers rivalry

:01:22. > :01:23.returned to Scottish Michael and Steven will give

:01:24. > :01:28.us their thoughts on that and the rest of the weekend's

:01:29. > :01:30.action later on. One of the biggest fixtures

:01:31. > :01:48.of the season, the build-up had been Peter Pawlett and Mark Reynolds

:01:49. > :01:54.return to the starting line-up for an Madine as James Maddison

:01:55. > :02:01.surprisingly dropped to the bench. Midweek hero Rooney starts, he is

:02:02. > :02:07.fit. Snicko Kranjcar is a sub today, and so is Kenny Miller. Captain Lee

:02:08. > :02:14.Wallace also returns after being rested in mid-weight as Rangers play

:02:15. > :02:21.at Pittodrie for the first time since 2011.

:02:22. > :02:28.Warokorn, 28 goals last season, not bad considering he missed three

:02:29. > :02:32.months. Here is Tavernier, a good all in, and it has gone behind for

:02:33. > :02:33.another corner. Joe Garner was up for it. That was the best ball of

:02:34. > :03:01.the game from James Tavernier. This is Ghana. -- Garner. It might

:03:02. > :03:07.just have been creeping in, you know.

:03:08. > :03:14.Logan is going to get onto that, it wasn't a great Hall. Kenny McLean

:03:15. > :03:29.steadies himself. Brilliant effort from McLean! Derek McInnes has made

:03:30. > :03:33.a big decision at half-time, to bring an James Maddison, on loan

:03:34. > :03:37.from Norwich City. Aberdeen have only bettered their current nine

:03:38. > :03:41.points after six games five times in the last 25 years, twice under

:03:42. > :03:49.McInnes, and including last season's record-breaking start. The men in

:03:50. > :03:54.red shoot towards the beach in the second half. They have only failed

:03:55. > :03:57.to score in one of their last 24 away matches, 81-0 defeat to

:03:58. > :04:02.Livingston after they had won the last season. Johnny Hayes gets

:04:03. > :04:10.himself in on goal early on. Big goal! Huge goal from Johnny Hayes.

:04:11. > :04:23.20 seconds into the second half, it is Aberdeen who go in front.

:04:24. > :04:27.Pittodrie erupts. And it is Aberdeen's little magician, the

:04:28. > :04:37.number 11, the flick on from Rooney was perfection, as was the finish

:04:38. > :04:39.from Hayes. He is not only playing, he is making a huge impression, and

:04:40. > :04:53.Rangers concede again. Andy Halliday. It is Waghorn's

:04:54. > :05:01.flick, and it is wide. Waghorn did his best to flick that into the net.

:05:02. > :05:11.This is a good period for Rangers, it is Barry Mackay, and it is over

:05:12. > :05:20.the bar from Waghorn. Jittery at the back for Aberdeen. This ball reached

:05:21. > :05:23.Joe Garner, he was under pressure from rivals, Waghorn will feel he

:05:24. > :05:30.should have hit the target with that. Looking quite pedestrian,

:05:31. > :05:37.Rangers, and something that frustrates the supporters. And they

:05:38. > :05:44.have conceded a penalty. Rangers have a chance to draw level. It was

:05:45. > :05:52.Hayes and Wallace, and there was little doubt it was a spot kick.

:05:53. > :05:58.Instant impact from Kenny Miller. A full fistful of Wallace's journey.

:05:59. > :06:01.Johnny Hayes goes from hero to villain, and how big a villain will

:06:02. > :06:09.depend on what Andy Halliday does with this penalty kick. Two goals

:06:10. > :06:14.already this season. His third would draw Rangers level.

:06:15. > :06:29.And they are! Lewis guesses wrongly, and Andy Halliday squares the game

:06:30. > :06:36.at Pittodrie. A decisive spot kick from Halliday, and it is Aberdeen

:06:37. > :06:43.1-1 Rangers. They will feel they deserve it.

:06:44. > :06:57.This is Burns. He finds Hayes. He will drive at the Rangers defence

:06:58. > :07:02.here. Tavernier has been booked for that, so that is a free kick. It

:07:03. > :07:09.certainly looked as if he got some of the ball here, Tavernier, but

:07:10. > :07:16.plenty of Hayes, as well. Maddison sizes it up. It is not bad! It is

:07:17. > :07:21.brilliant in fact from James Maddison! And outstanding late

:07:22. > :07:40.winner surely for Aberdeen. A moment of artistry from James

:07:41. > :07:48.Maddison. That is special. From every angle, that is special from

:07:49. > :07:57.James Maddison. A ?3 million player scores in his second league game in

:07:58. > :08:02.a row. And it is one for the Aberdeen supporters to savour. It

:08:03. > :08:06.was in all the way, Foderingham could get nowhere near it.

:08:07. > :08:10.We enjoyed the day, because for long spells it didn't look as if we would

:08:11. > :08:16.get the win, and it was only really in the last minute we thought that

:08:17. > :08:19.the three points were staying here. The players deserved it, the

:08:20. > :08:24.supporters deserved it, but we recognise the strength of our

:08:25. > :08:29.opponent today. And it is a big win, as I said. But it is only three

:08:30. > :08:35.points, I wouldn't be getting too upset and too distraught if we

:08:36. > :08:39.hadn't won, I know there are wins ahead of us, but beating a team like

:08:40. > :08:41.Rangers can only help. That was the most ROM attic where it could

:08:42. > :08:47.finish, you always go through scenario Chumak and your head, and

:08:48. > :08:53.that was one where I scored a winner right in front of the fans.

:08:54. > :08:59.James Maddison's moment of magic capping a great week for Aberdeen.

:09:00. > :09:02.It certainly was, and after all the build-up, I felt the first half

:09:03. > :09:07.lacked quality today. Rangers will probably better in the first half,

:09:08. > :09:13.Aberdeen under par, but the second half, scoring early and then the

:09:14. > :09:18.controversial moments. It is a great week for Aberdeen, to get our

:09:19. > :09:22.victory, to win in the cup, to get through to the semifinal, and then

:09:23. > :09:26.today was a huge victory, after what has been what most people would say

:09:27. > :09:31.is a slow start to their season, they are into the semifinal. So many

:09:32. > :09:34.talking point this afternoon. Week after week we have pinpointed

:09:35. > :09:40.frailties in the Rangers defence, and we have to do it again. If you

:09:41. > :09:43.look at this, this was a couple of weeks ago against Kilmarnock, and we

:09:44. > :09:46.highlighted this, you want your centre-half to attack the ball and

:09:47. > :09:50.your full-back to drop off, this didn't lead to a goal, but it was a

:09:51. > :09:57.great opportunity where Kris Boyd almost scores. A lack of

:09:58. > :10:01.concentration, you look at this. Johnny Hayes is already on his bike,

:10:02. > :10:04.Tavernier has got to deepen into this position here, he would see

:10:05. > :10:10.that run and match it, and they don't lose the goal. It is a lack of

:10:11. > :10:14.concentration, it is poor defensively, and it is simple,

:10:15. > :10:18.basic. You have a renowned ex-Rangers defender, David Weir, on

:10:19. > :10:23.the bench, does it surprise you to see these continuing problems? It

:10:24. > :10:26.does surprise me. Clearly the question that needs to be raised is

:10:27. > :10:31.how they getting that same coaching defensively? You can't coach and

:10:32. > :10:36.individual error. He has gone to sleep. But you look at how well they

:10:37. > :10:41.are coached offensively, the players pick it up, there is a clear

:10:42. > :10:45.structure and strategy. I think if you constantly coach that, day in,

:10:46. > :10:52.day out, five or ten minutes here or there, it is drummed into them. The

:10:53. > :10:56.evidence for me is that attacking wise they are, defensively it

:10:57. > :11:00.doesn't look as if they are, because honestly, that is so simple, it is a

:11:01. > :11:04.set play, a defensive ball getting thumped up the park, if you can't

:11:05. > :11:08.get that right, it causes problems. And ultimately that gets you points

:11:09. > :11:14.on the board, and that is where they are falling down. That start with

:11:15. > :11:16.the equaliser, Joe Garner was up front, he was replaced by Kenny

:11:17. > :11:21.Miller and suddenly they equalised. Joe Garner spent most of the game

:11:22. > :11:27.jumping into people, trying to get files, he was ineffective, Kenny

:11:28. > :11:30.Miller comes on and straightaway, he makes a good bit of movement, he

:11:31. > :11:35.peels off the centre-half, and when you have your centre forward doing

:11:36. > :11:38.that, you have to get runners in behind, great play to make that

:11:39. > :11:43.offer in behind and he gets into the box and put Johnny Hayes in a real

:11:44. > :11:48.awkward position, and it was quite rightly a penalty. It was a bit

:11:49. > :11:53.naive from Johnny Hayes, he was a hero at the other red earlier in the

:11:54. > :11:56.game. Mark Warburton said afterward, we would have been disappointed at

:11:57. > :12:02.1-1, the fourth official even said it wasn't a foul. Big talking point.

:12:03. > :12:05.The fourth official is right, it isn't a file, and Mark Warburton and

:12:06. > :12:12.Rangers have every right to feel aggrieved. It is definitely not a

:12:13. > :12:15.foul. You can set Tavernier, that is where the ball was going, and that

:12:16. > :12:19.is where it went once he made contact, the referee is just a metre

:12:20. > :12:27.away when it happens, that is very clear. For me, absolutely not a

:12:28. > :12:33.foul. And that is an unbelievable free

:12:34. > :12:37.kick, you cannot take anything away from Maddison, individually it is

:12:38. > :12:41.technically brilliant. You heard him saying it was the stuff of dreams,

:12:42. > :12:45.James Maddison, in the interview, and it is. From a Rangers

:12:46. > :12:49.perspective, it is a bitter pill to swallow because it wasn't a free

:12:50. > :12:53.kick, but don't take anything away from Maddison. A fantastic data

:12:54. > :12:57.Aberdeen, that will mean so much for their fans, but for Mark Warburton,

:12:58. > :13:01.how much pressure is he under? I don't think there is any doubt that

:13:02. > :13:05.he is under pressure, to be seventh in the league at this stage is and

:13:06. > :13:13.what anybody expected, and there has been a lack of wins, a lack of now

:13:14. > :13:17.sussed how to go and win games. Aberdeen can grind games out, I'm

:13:18. > :13:22.not sure Rangers can. How big a result is this? Massive. A massive

:13:23. > :13:26.statement after the result against Handy, this one against Rangers.

:13:27. > :13:29.St Johnstone with the chance to reclaim second spot

:13:30. > :13:32.Tommy Wright's side away to Hamilton Academical.

:13:33. > :13:45.Three changes for the Accies from the side who lost at Motherwell.

:13:46. > :13:47.Income Seaborne, Donati and McCall. Five changes for the Saints from

:13:48. > :14:07.midweek. S Brophy, back-to-back starts for

:14:08. > :14:22.him. Up to Gillespie, that is very clever, he has continued the run. A

:14:23. > :14:27.beautiful little ball. Michael Coulson is the man on the free kick.

:14:28. > :14:33.Cummins has come right in behind the defence, and sent it wide. For the

:14:34. > :14:44.man who got one against Hearts a couple of weeks ago, he should have

:14:45. > :14:52.had the head here. Here is Swanson, cool son all over the Accies

:14:53. > :14:56.defence. That was a good stop. And alarming amount of space opened up

:14:57. > :15:08.on the left-hand side. Again, the Accies fortunate. The header is too

:15:09. > :15:17.strong. Shaughnessy complains, but he took down D'Acol. Crawford with

:15:18. > :15:27.the free kick. D'Acol into the middle, and it is 1-0 to the Accies,

:15:28. > :15:30.it is the first of the season. Accies' goal-scoring run continues,

:15:31. > :15:40.they have scored in every game this season.

:15:41. > :15:53.Corner from the left hand side. Beautiful header, and D'Acol ends up

:15:54. > :15:58.in the back of the net, a wry smile from Shaughnessy, and D'Acol doing

:15:59. > :15:59.his job on the post. Conditions changing as they bring the ball

:16:00. > :16:12.forward. And diving across was Remi Matthews

:16:13. > :16:19.getting a touch. The rain is getting worse, I didn't think it was

:16:20. > :16:24.possible. Beautiful play from Danny Swanson. Here comes Cummins. He

:16:25. > :16:29.sends the ball across. And again, Greg Docherty, the skill is always

:16:30. > :16:46.there for Swanson. McKinnon is a hard man to get past.

:16:47. > :16:52.That goes on to the left foot, and the shot across! Took a nick on the

:16:53. > :16:59.way through, always dangerous. Dougie Imrie, present this season.

:17:00. > :17:07.Just needed a touch, almost got one. That was clever from McKinnon, onto

:17:08. > :17:10.Imrie. Longridge wants it, but Imrie plays it inside, what a beautiful

:17:11. > :17:18.little dummy, but he just took too long! Zander Clark came out, and

:17:19. > :17:21.Doherty has such a good touch, brilliant dummy from Brophy, he

:17:22. > :17:34.should have pulled the trigger first time. He will regret that. Trying to

:17:35. > :17:42.battle for it. He goes for the shot on the outside, beaten away. It is

:17:43. > :17:49.1-1! Remi Matthews questions his defence after he made the save. Liam

:17:50. > :17:52.Craig was emphatic in his finish. Head down over the ball, drilled a

:17:53. > :18:06.low, great finish, 1-1. Bingham taking an Shaughnessy. Hold

:18:07. > :18:11.on and see what's around. Imrie is calling for it. He will get it,

:18:12. > :18:25.Dougie Imrie. The touch from Zander Clark. Dougie Imrie was yelling for

:18:26. > :18:30.this. Final few seconds of the match. Craig into the box, Sarris

:18:31. > :18:37.gets it away, Crawford doesn't get on the end of it, and Remi Matthews

:18:38. > :18:47.with the save. That was nearly a winner for St Johnstone, a brilliant

:18:48. > :18:51.shot but first-class stop. The second half they pinned us back a

:18:52. > :18:55.little bit, but we got a great opportunity, and I think we have to

:18:56. > :18:59.take it, they will give us the second goal, and we didn't take that

:19:00. > :19:05.chance often enough, I feel like I'm repeating myself, but we have to

:19:06. > :19:09.take the chances. I was disappointed to be 1-0 down at half-time, I

:19:10. > :19:13.didn't think we deserved that. And I think we did enough in the second to

:19:14. > :19:19.at least in the draw, but the longer the game goes on, you do have

:19:20. > :19:24.doubts, but they kept going, and it is a good point, I think we probably

:19:25. > :19:29.deserved three but we didn't get it. But it was a good response after

:19:30. > :19:32.Thursday night. A good point, says Tommy Wright. Does that go down as a

:19:33. > :19:37.missed opportunity for St Johnstone? If they had won, they would be

:19:38. > :19:44.second. He was disappointed not to get three points, but it was a good

:19:45. > :19:47.point away from home. When you look at the start of the season, being

:19:48. > :19:51.fourth at the moment, they have got to be positive and happy with that

:19:52. > :19:57.so far. Hamilton Accademical opened the score between Greg Docherty, a

:19:58. > :20:00.player we were raving about earlier this week, bemused by the fact that

:20:01. > :20:04.he has played 50 odd games at the top flight of Scottish football,

:20:05. > :20:10.he's 20 years of age and has never had a sniff when it comes to the

:20:11. > :20:15.Scotland U21s. I have been impressed with him this year. Here, he scores

:20:16. > :20:24.a goal, and you see him in the box at a set piece, he has not really

:20:25. > :20:28.picked up by St Johnstone players. On this occasion here, as the set

:20:29. > :20:33.piece comes in and the ball comes alive from the second phase, he

:20:34. > :20:37.wanders into the box and takes a gamble, and you have to say it is a

:20:38. > :20:40.magnificent finish. Hamilton Accademical have a great youth

:20:41. > :20:43.system, but are their players undervalued because people think it

:20:44. > :20:50.is a small club? I think there is an element of that, it goes through

:20:51. > :20:52.every level of football, but players can be undervalued or overvalued in

:20:53. > :20:57.terms of where they are at that time, but there is no doubt they

:20:58. > :21:01.have produced a lot of good players. In the end, an important equaliser

:21:02. > :21:07.from Liam Craig to get St Johnstone something from this. They had won

:21:08. > :21:11.the last two games in a row, and they were missing Steven MacLean,

:21:12. > :21:15.one of their best players who can't play an Astroturf. And the

:21:16. > :21:21.conditions looked horrendous, but this is poor again from Hamilton

:21:22. > :21:25.when the ball breaks here, nobody reacts, but Craig definitely does,

:21:26. > :21:33.and it is a very well taken first-time finish. Hamilton you can

:21:34. > :21:36.understand, they have lost their last two games, conceding seven

:21:37. > :21:44.goals in the process, and they took the lead again. They seemed to take

:21:45. > :21:53.the lead and threw it away continuously. All the signs for a

:21:54. > :21:56.good season? They have something that every club looks for,

:21:57. > :21:59.consistency in their managers and players and performances, and I

:22:00. > :22:03.wouldn't be surprised if St Johnstone have another good season.

:22:04. > :22:06.Nobody gave Kilmarnock much of a chance as they turned up

:22:07. > :22:10.Celtic back on home turf after recent awkward encounters

:22:11. > :22:29.Four changes to the Celtic side, de Vries replacing Roberts. Kilmarnock

:22:30. > :22:32.skipper Stevie Smith has undergone ankle surgery, and 18-year-old

:22:33. > :22:35.Taylor takes over at left-back. Nathan Tyson makes his first start,

:22:36. > :22:42.with another teenager, Adam Frizzell, dropping out.

:22:43. > :22:48.Kilmarnock making a real venture into the Celtic second-half after

:22:49. > :22:58.half an hour of concerted pressure from the home team. Souleymane

:22:59. > :23:03.Coulibaly lets and scores! It is a spectacular sucker punch. I'm not

:23:04. > :23:08.sure Kilmarnock can quite believe this, it must be all of 40 yards,

:23:09. > :23:13.and Coulibaly's shot flies over the top of Dorus De Vries, and

:23:14. > :23:34.incredibly, Kilmarnock are ahead. Celtic looking for a rapid response.

:23:35. > :23:50.Kieran Tierney against Nathan Tyson. Now it is Rogic, another shot

:23:51. > :23:57.blocked, Mousa Dembele, it is 1-1. Celtic get things levelled up with a

:23:58. > :24:06.Mousa Dembele's ninth goal of the season. Scott Sinclair, in goes Rory

:24:07. > :24:12.McKenzie to win it. But it is given away by Tyson.

:24:13. > :24:28.Mousa Dembele! It is a quickfire 44 Dembele -- a quickfire double four

:24:29. > :24:32.Dembele. Six goals in five games now for the former Fulham striker. It is

:24:33. > :24:47.a shot that Jamie MacDonald wasn't going to be stopping. Dorus De Vries

:24:48. > :24:50.has picked up a chest injury apparently. Craig Gordon takes over

:24:51. > :25:03.and gets a big response from the Celtic fans. James Forrest steps

:25:04. > :25:06.away from Greg Taylor, Rogic, it is James Forrest again, and a great

:25:07. > :25:17.goal! Are brilliant combination between the parents, and Kilmarnock

:25:18. > :25:18.were torn apart here, and Forrest stabs home his third goal, his fifth

:25:19. > :25:33.of the season. Rogic! Great hit, and matched by

:25:34. > :25:41.that save from Jamie MacDonald, it was almost number four. Off goes

:25:42. > :25:44.Dembele, no hat-trick for him today, and a Leigh Griffiths will be

:25:45. > :25:56.desperate to get back among the goals after four games out. Forrest

:25:57. > :26:02.wriggles clear of Mackenzie, and again! And McKenzie recovering in

:26:03. > :26:09.the nick of time. He stabbed that behind. Sinclair's corner kick, and

:26:10. > :26:17.it is Griffiths, it didn't take him long! He is back to business. Eight

:26:18. > :26:25.goals for the season now. But he is playing catch up in behind Mousa

:26:26. > :26:36.Dembele, and that makes it 4-1 to Celtic.

:26:37. > :26:46.S Taylor's challenge, penalty! Caught on the wrong side, the young

:26:47. > :26:51.left-back gets a yellow card to add to the agony. Clever play from

:26:52. > :26:59.Griffiths, and not much doubt about the decision. Griffiths has handed

:27:00. > :27:05.the ball to Scott Sinclair, who keeps up his sparkling start to the

:27:06. > :27:12.season. He has played in six league games for Celtic, and he has scored

:27:13. > :27:19.in all of them. Well, five goals for Celtic, and this could have been

:27:20. > :27:26.just about anything. And make that six. His worst effort at goal of the

:27:27. > :27:31.afternoon finds a way past Jamie MacDonald, who must be shot to

:27:32. > :27:36.pieces this stage. 6-1. Celtic were a goal down in the 32nd minute, and

:27:37. > :27:47.they have won by a country mile. Second-half, we just got blown away,

:27:48. > :27:52.in every sense. It was men against boys, we have a young team and it

:27:53. > :27:57.shows. They are the champions of Scotland and they took their

:27:58. > :28:00.football to a new level. We are not a first team to get a heavy defeat

:28:01. > :28:05.here since Brendan took over, and we will be the last. Think this fixture

:28:06. > :28:09.last year was 0-0, so they have shown that ability to go and score

:28:10. > :28:15.six goals today, and I will always demand that we make improvements,

:28:16. > :28:18.but as a team, it is an improvement, which is important. They feel they

:28:19. > :28:23.are developing, but there is still a way for us to go.

:28:24. > :28:33.Celtic rampant after a spectacular start the sole -- for Kilmarnock,

:28:34. > :28:36.but it petered out. Who do Celtic start up front, Mousa Dembele or

:28:37. > :28:44.Leigh Griffiths? They are both players in form, and that was

:28:45. > :28:49.Dembele's tenth goal. Yesterday he had a quickfire double, and he has

:28:50. > :28:55.been impressive. He has the shirt just now, and he has done a nothing

:28:56. > :28:59.wrong to have it taken off air while Griffiths has been injured. The

:29:00. > :29:04.second one was more impressive on the left foot. It is a great problem

:29:05. > :29:09.for Brendan Rodgers to have. He has two players who both score goals

:29:10. > :29:14.regularly. In the system that he plays, he only plays one of them,

:29:15. > :29:18.and of course Griffiths is going to come on and score. I just wonder

:29:19. > :29:23.whether you can fit two of them into the team. You see Leigh Griffiths,

:29:24. > :29:28.this is pure in stick. It is a top goal. I don't think Manchester City

:29:29. > :29:31.is a game to try to experiment with the two of them, but I think it

:29:32. > :29:36.would be Dembele supporting Griffiths, he has to be the number

:29:37. > :29:41.nine. I don't think the Man City game is the one to try it, but this

:29:42. > :29:45.epitomises what he is all about. He plays on the shoulder and wins the

:29:46. > :29:50.penalty kick, and it was a good touch him to give the chance to

:29:51. > :29:54.Scott Sinclair to equal, and make a club record six goals. It was a

:29:55. > :30:03.fantastic strike from Coulibaly. Let's watch it again.

:30:04. > :30:13.Is the goalkeeper at fault? I think you should just concentrate on

:30:14. > :30:18.Coulibaly because this is outrageous. Not the first time he

:30:19. > :30:27.has scored a spectacular goal this season. His seventh goal in 11

:30:28. > :30:37.games. His third consecutive call in three games. Look at the diplomat.

:30:38. > :30:42.There is no way for me that the goalkeeper is at fault. He could

:30:43. > :30:46.have been standing on his line and he would have been struggling to

:30:47. > :30:51.save that. Although Dorus de Vries has definitely not stamped his

:30:52. > :30:57.authority in the goalkeeping position, that was not his fault.

:30:58. > :31:04.Let's talk about the goalkeeping situation at Celtic. Who starts in

:31:05. > :31:09.goals for Celtic? Craig Gordon came on. Dorus de Vries strained his

:31:10. > :31:14.chest in landing. It is bizarre because he didn't look strained when

:31:15. > :31:22.he got up from. Clearly Dorus de Vries is Brendan Rodgers's number

:31:23. > :31:29.one. In this game, there is no doubt that Craig Gardner is the better

:31:30. > :31:35.stop. It comes down to whether Dorus de Vries is fit. He was brought into

:31:36. > :31:44.play with his feet. His distribution is better than Craig's. For me,

:31:45. > :31:47.Craig is a better goalkeeper. Can Celtic get anything from this game

:31:48. > :31:53.against the multimillionaires at Manchester City? You go to these

:31:54. > :32:01.games at Celtic Park and they will be full of belief they can do it. I

:32:02. > :32:06.just can't see Celtic getting a result. We shall see.

:32:07. > :32:08.Ross County had never beaten Hearts at Tynecastle.

:32:09. > :32:11.In fact, County had only ever beaten Hearts once, back in 2013.

:32:12. > :32:13.An ominous stat, or a record there to be broken?

:32:14. > :32:38.Hearts make two changes. Derek kitchen as captain for the first

:32:39. > :32:52.time. Craig Curran drops to the bench. Ian McShane with the corner.

:32:53. > :33:03.Solid header away by Paterson. Hearts have the opportunity on the

:33:04. > :33:09.counterattack. Great effort from Tony Watt. What a terrific save that

:33:10. > :33:32.was by Scott Fox. Impeded. Free kick given the way of

:33:33. > :33:43.Ross County. Still looking for their first win at ten Cassel in their

:33:44. > :33:47.history. Andrew Davies was in there. Well, the Ross County players are

:33:48. > :34:02.claiming the ball was over the line. Hearts are heading up the other end.

:34:03. > :34:06.Fox again making a good stop. Helped out by Marcus Fraser. A quick

:34:07. > :34:12.counterattacking move once more by Hearts. Of the other end, Ross

:34:13. > :34:18.County almost took the lead. Andrew Davies with the header off the bar

:34:19. > :34:20.and bouncing down. But not over the line. Are let off for Robbie

:34:21. > :34:34.Neilson's side. Fox once more to the rescue for Ross

:34:35. > :34:43.County. Good downward header by the big defender. Hearts on a run of

:34:44. > :34:51.seven games unbeaten against Ross County. Kitchen deemed to have

:34:52. > :34:59.fouled Liam Boyce as he made that challenge. The whistle has sounded.

:35:00. > :35:02.Despite the ball going into the back of the net. I think it is Davies who

:35:03. > :35:29.is guilty of pushing. Scott Fox, another good stop. Away

:35:30. > :35:45.by Davis. Scott Fox is having a terrific afternoon. Did it come off

:35:46. > :35:51.a hand? Referee says play on. Hearts are getting closer, but not close

:35:52. > :36:15.enough. Nicholson with the effort. Clipping the outside of the post.

:36:16. > :36:28.Nicholson tripped by McShane. Yellow card for the Ross County midfielder.

:36:29. > :36:44.McShane in twice. Tripping Nicholson as he got away.

:36:45. > :36:50.Quinn did well to intercept. Now we have a game between the managers on

:36:51. > :37:04.the touchline. We need a fourth official to be the referee. 0-0 on

:37:05. > :37:09.the pitch and off it. There was a late challenge by McShane. A second

:37:10. > :37:23.yellow card. Within the space of three minutes. Ian McShane is shown

:37:24. > :37:27.red. Still sitting in a decent position, but after last week, we

:37:28. > :37:33.should be sitting with six points and we are sitting with one. The

:37:34. > :37:37.points are not coming in as they should. Anytime you come to

:37:38. > :37:43.Tynecastle, if you take a point away from here, it is a bad result. This

:37:44. > :37:48.is a tough league and you need to do a lot of things well to win games.

:37:49. > :37:55.There was a chance to go above Hearts today if we won, so that was

:37:56. > :38:03.our objective. But I am not displeased at this point. A lot of

:38:04. > :38:10.people think that Hearts are one of the teams to challenge Celtic. So

:38:11. > :38:15.was this disappointing? Robbie was disappointed. Lots of opportunities

:38:16. > :38:18.and chances for Hearts. They will be disappointed they didn't manage to

:38:19. > :38:24.capitalise on that and get three points. If the are to maintain a

:38:25. > :38:33.challenge at the top, games against Ross County at home is where you

:38:34. > :38:40.want to get three points. Not looking so bad for Ross County.

:38:41. > :38:46.Scott Fox did well? Hearts were wasteful. They created enough in the

:38:47. > :38:53.match to win it. This save is brilliant. They created enough to

:38:54. > :38:58.win the game, Hearts. They will be disappointed. Second week in a row

:38:59. > :39:13.they haven't scored. Conor Sammon has only scored one goal. Hearts

:39:14. > :39:25.have scored 11 goals as a team, but only two from the front pairing. You

:39:26. > :39:31.want the guys at the front to score when they don't even have a chance.

:39:32. > :39:42.But you're the messed number of them. Ross County has scored seven

:39:43. > :39:48.goals this season, Liam Boyce has scored six of them. It is something

:39:49. > :39:54.Ross County will need to work on. You need contributions from across

:39:55. > :40:02.the pitch. What about the captaincy situation at Hearts? Perry kitchen

:40:03. > :40:09.is the new hearts captain. What is that all about? It is strange to

:40:10. > :40:18.announce the captain at this stage of the season. I am surprised that

:40:19. > :40:27.Cowie hadn't been given it permanently. Perry Kitchen and Cowie

:40:28. > :40:32.will be main players for the team. I bet nobody tried to take the armband

:40:33. > :40:42.off There were a number of occasions!

:40:43. > :40:44.They'd drawn their last two games against Aberdeen and Celtic.

:40:45. > :40:46.So Inverness could welcome Dundee boasting some decent form

:40:47. > :40:48.after an early season Premiership wobble.

:40:49. > :40:50.Commentary on this one comes from Rory Hamilton.

:40:51. > :41:01.After three games unbeaten, there is a much need for tinkering for Richie

:41:02. > :41:06.Foran. Kevin Gormley serves the second of his two match ban. Nicky

:41:07. > :41:15.Low is making his first appearance since April.

:41:16. > :41:30.It opens up nicely for Draper. He continued his march forward. An

:41:31. > :41:47.early chance for the midfielder. Well saved by Scott Bain.

:41:48. > :42:00.Draper wins it back. Inverness have started well. Cross in from Mackay.

:42:01. > :42:06.A brilliant glancing header from Lonsana Doumbouya. Arrowing the ball

:42:07. > :42:12.into the corner of the net for his first goal for the club.

:42:13. > :42:33.Warren. King. The penalty is given. Kevin Clancy points to the spot. The

:42:34. > :42:43.official judging that was a foul. Greg Tansey. Clinical from the spot.

:42:44. > :42:49.He does it again. 17 minutes into this game, Inverness Caledonian

:42:50. > :42:53.Thistle have a two goal cushion. Things are not going to get any

:42:54. > :43:09.easier for Dundee. The host Celtic next weekend. Decent strike. Power

:43:10. > :43:21.behind it. Williams not happy that the striker was given space. Liam

:43:22. > :43:34.Polworth can battle away, but Duffy has won it back for Dundee. Failed

:43:35. > :43:44.to find the target. Back it comes to Hateley. King played himself into

:43:45. > :43:51.trouble. Format Williams up for the task once more. Pity for Dundee that

:43:52. > :43:58.the waited until they went 2-0 down to get into this scheme. Norway pass

:43:59. > :44:12.the big goalkeeper. This is a ground where Dundee have never one. This is

:44:13. > :44:23.good stuff from Inverness. Nice touch from Lonsana Doumbouya. Mackay

:44:24. > :44:28.releases Liam Polworth. This is such a different side from the one who

:44:29. > :44:33.started the season. Confidence oozing from Richie Foran's men. Liam

:44:34. > :44:49.Polworth has his first goal of the season to make it 3-0 to Inverness

:44:50. > :44:52.Caley Thistle. The substitute is under pressure. Loose with the

:44:53. > :44:59.backpass. This is Liam Polworth. Good stop by Bain. Perhaps Jake

:45:00. > :45:08.Morini should not have given the Dundee number one chance? Liam

:45:09. > :45:18.Polworth knocks it on. It is still Inverness were searching for more.

:45:19. > :45:31.He scored so dramatically in the dying stages against Celtic last

:45:32. > :45:36.week to gain a point for Inverness. Three efforts, all kept out by a

:45:37. > :45:56.combination of Scott Bain and McGovern on the line.

:45:57. > :46:08.Barred in the back. It is Nicky Low and it is brilliantly done by the

:46:09. > :46:14.midfielder. 3-1 as Dundee get on the scoreboard. Beautiful curling free

:46:15. > :46:21.kick. Merely a consolation for Dundee. Obviously good results breed

:46:22. > :46:24.confidence. We are climbing the table and looking up. We went

:46:25. > :46:33.through a bad patch and we didn't let it affect as. Mentally strong. I

:46:34. > :46:39.believe there is a lot more to come. As a team, we didn't play well.

:46:40. > :46:44.There are not many players hit the pass mark today. I don't think you

:46:45. > :46:52.need to make a challenge like that. Too many times that has happened. We

:46:53. > :47:01.need to take responsibility. Great win for Cali Thistle. The catalyst

:47:02. > :47:06.was the St Johnstone game. An excellent point at home against

:47:07. > :47:11.Celtic. Yesterday, they looked very confident. At that into the fact

:47:12. > :47:14.that defensively they are looking very organised now. It is very

:47:15. > :47:23.positive for Inverness at this moment in time. Gary Warren is a

:47:24. > :47:29.real leader for them. You see him marshalling the defence. They are

:47:30. > :47:33.hard to break down. If you watch Gary Warren, he is the sort of

:47:34. > :47:37.defender that puts himself on the line, time and time again for

:47:38. > :47:44.Inverness. He is a leader and this defending is brilliant. When you

:47:45. > :47:50.come up a site like that, look how many bodies in that small area, you

:47:51. > :47:54.need to have players who will commit, break the line and have

:47:55. > :48:00.someone else confront you. They just didn't have that, Dundee yesterday.

:48:01. > :48:04.Ultimately, a lot of credit has to go to Inverness in terms of their

:48:05. > :48:08.defensive structure which has played a big part in them turning the

:48:09. > :48:15.corner since that game at Newcastle when they were dropped 5-1. The

:48:16. > :48:27.always pack a physical presence. One San Adam Boyd got his first goal. He

:48:28. > :48:35.is a focal point for them. He links the play well. This could have been

:48:36. > :48:42.naughty. I don't think he knows that he is there, so benefit of the

:48:43. > :48:45.doubt. He gets booked for this and I don't think that is a booking.

:48:46. > :48:54.You're getting your arm up for leveraged. Most of those challenges,

:48:55. > :49:02.he is laying the ball. The one you are renowned for is just getting

:49:03. > :49:06.leveraged. Paul Hartley has not been impressed by the criticism this

:49:07. > :49:11.season. Yesterday he said the critics should fill their boots. Bit

:49:12. > :49:15.of a strange one because I don't anybody who was fully aware of what

:49:16. > :49:20.criticism they have had. But it has got the spotlight onto them. Was it

:49:21. > :49:25.a game you would have wanted to draw spotlight on in hindsight because it

:49:26. > :49:29.was approved one for Dundee? There is no Dundee player that really

:49:30. > :49:33.comes out of it with any credit. They have not won since the opening

:49:34. > :49:38.day and they have lost six goals in the last two games. Dress it up

:49:39. > :49:43.however you want, but it has been a poor start to the season.

:49:44. > :49:48.Would they achieve lift-off against a Motherwell side that

:49:49. > :49:50.started the day four points in front?

:49:51. > :50:01.Illness prevents calendars from playing his part today. There is a

:50:02. > :50:05.debut for Adam Barton in midfield. Motherwell hit Hamilton for four

:50:06. > :50:27.last weekend. Gordon plays it forward. Craig

:50:28. > :50:44.Samson reacts. Very sporting between the two players. Tried to chip the

:50:45. > :50:50.goalkeeper. He is under pressure. Nothing wrong with the challenge

:50:51. > :50:56.from Ryan Polmont. The goalkeeper eventually got his paws on the ball.

:50:57. > :51:06.A point against Kilmarnock last weekend.

:51:07. > :51:17.Harris is under pressure. Didn't need to do that. Chris Erskine makes

:51:18. > :51:22.him pay. Opportunistic finish from Chris Erskine after mistake from

:51:23. > :51:24.Steven Hammell. Simply didn't see the midfielder. Goalkeeper was left

:51:25. > :51:48.exposed. There is a chance for him to be

:51:49. > :51:53.played through. Beautifully put through by Chris Erskine. You can

:51:54. > :52:10.sense the anticipation. The chance to go two ahead. McManus. Lovely

:52:11. > :52:14.little ball through. The chances were following his way. He is not

:52:15. > :52:29.making the best of them at all. Great little pass through.

:52:30. > :52:35.Cans for Scott McDonald. There is the equaliser. It won't count

:52:36. > :52:42.because the flag is up. Craig Thomson on the advice of his

:52:43. > :52:49.assistant. He looked onside and he was onside. Gordon was playing him

:52:50. > :53:00.onside. Motherwell should be level. Chris Erskine to take the free kick.

:53:01. > :53:05.Wonderful delivery. Swept in. Didn't really test Craig Samson. Was a

:53:06. > :53:14.really good chance. Lovely work on the ball. Didn't get the contact he

:53:15. > :53:20.wanted. You don't want to sit off Ryan Edwards. E is more than

:53:21. > :53:33.capable. Plenty of power on the short.

:53:34. > :53:40.He has a chance here. Tried to step inside. Tight on the goalkeeper.

:53:41. > :54:09.Worked a lovely 1-2. McFadden. Spot Richard Tait. Lovely little

:54:10. > :54:12.ball in. First league goal of the season for Scott McDonald. He was

:54:13. > :54:18.denied with one header, he wasn't going to be denied here. Played

:54:19. > :54:39.onside by Ziggy Gordon. Motherwell looking dangerous. Great

:54:40. > :54:46.little ball in. Goalkeeper has push it away. Ryan Polmont with a header.

:54:47. > :54:53.He looks frustrated. He made the goalkeeper work. Decent reaction

:54:54. > :55:02.save. You can sense the restlessness amongst the Partick Thistle fans.

:55:03. > :55:11.Ryan Scully has to save once more. You can add that to the list of good

:55:12. > :55:29.saves. It took us a while to get the goal. Given the per first half, we

:55:30. > :55:34.did OK. If we're taking our chances in the first the game could have

:55:35. > :55:40.been dead and buried. Recurring theme tonight, taking chances are

:55:41. > :55:56.not. They should have won the game 4-1. Aziz does really well here. The

:55:57. > :56:05.one thing you must do in this situation, even if you don't have a

:56:06. > :56:12.good finish, but make sure it is on target. Make sure that you make the

:56:13. > :56:18.goalkeeper work. It is good movement. He causes problems for the

:56:19. > :56:23.defence, but you need to make the goalkeeper work. A lot of bodies

:56:24. > :56:29.back for them to defend. Didn't manage to get the final ball in. A

:56:30. > :56:34.lot of good play from Partick Thistle, but when it gets in and

:56:35. > :56:39.around that box, it is just breaking down for them. Ultimately, that is

:56:40. > :56:47.when you win and lose games. The final ball is letting them down.

:56:48. > :56:53.Chris Erskine can be excused. In terms of Motherwell, they could have

:56:54. > :57:01.won this match as well, had Scott McDonald's effort not been

:57:02. > :57:07.disallowed. As a striker, when you get a goal disallowed that was a

:57:08. > :57:14.goal, it is so frustrating. A perfectly good goal. Clearly he is

:57:15. > :57:18.onside. Huge frustration from Motherwell they have not taken the

:57:19. > :57:25.three points from what was clearly a valid goal. Morale still seems to be

:57:26. > :57:31.good with Partick Thistle. Early days, yet there are still bottom of

:57:32. > :57:35.the table. The need to take some positives. We did create. But they

:57:36. > :57:41.must be more clinical in front of goal. The last thing we need now is

:57:42. > :57:47.a trick Ibrox. But they will need to go with a positive mentality. There

:57:48. > :57:51.is more than enough quality in the Motherwell team for them to have

:57:52. > :57:56.another successful season. They didn't get the three points, but I

:57:57. > :58:00.think Motherwell will have another successful season. Thank you.

:58:01. > :58:02.And after all that, the Ladbrokes Premiership table

:58:03. > :58:21.Partick Thistle still bottom of the table. Rangers currently in the

:58:22. > :58:29.bottom six. That is all for tonight. Next up, Celtic against Manchester

:58:30. > :58:32.City on Wednesday. Live coverage on radio Scotland. From all of us.

:58:33. > :59:18.Goodbye. DISTANT RINGING

:59:19. > :59:23.What?!
