:00:00. > :00:41.Good evening and welcome to Sportscene.

:00:42. > :00:44.It's been a momentous weekend in the Scottish football calender.

:00:45. > :00:48.Two pulsating matches coming up, plus Premiership and

:00:49. > :01:26.And with us in the studio tonight, the Pats -

:01:27. > :01:29.We start with the League Cup semifinal today at Hampden.

:01:30. > :01:31.Holders Celtic up against Ross County.

:01:32. > :01:39.Commentary from Craig Paterson and Liam McLeod.

:01:40. > :01:46.A season defining few days coming up for the holders, Celtic move a step

:01:47. > :01:53.closer to the holy grail of a domestic clean sweep if they can see

:01:54. > :01:59.off Ross County today. All things considered, it's a fairly unusual

:02:00. > :02:02.line-up. Normally a two upfront team, they have reinforced the

:02:03. > :02:05.midfield today, as they have in the two league games against Celtic so

:02:06. > :02:11.far this season. Ian McShane we think will sit with Schalk, chosen

:02:12. > :02:20.to lead the line. Scott Brown is back in the Celtic squad, but only

:02:21. > :02:25.makes the bench today. Boyata comes back into the fold after a month

:02:26. > :02:29.out. Mackay-Steven started his career at County, you wouldn't bet

:02:30. > :02:36.against Leigh Griffiths adding to his 27 goals already this season.

:02:37. > :02:40.Ross County looking to reach their first ever League Cup final. Celtic

:02:41. > :02:47.aiming for League Cup final number 31. They are big, big favourites to

:02:48. > :02:51.do so, the right to face Hibernian in the 70th staging of this

:02:52. > :02:56.competition showpiece is the prize on offer, back here on the 13th of

:02:57. > :02:59.March. Craig Paterson, what do you think? I'm looking forward to Liz.

:03:00. > :03:08.The opening seconds of the game, Griffiths is in. Celtic have a dream

:03:09. > :03:15.start in the semifinal, inside 30 seconds. A sensational start for the

:03:16. > :03:22.holders! Unbelievable. The team settle into the game and Celtic

:03:23. > :03:26.decked off Ross County in the first minute. You have to be on your toes.

:03:27. > :03:30.Griffiths is through, brilliant play. Could have taken the

:03:31. > :03:41.goalkeeper on himself. Great team play.

:03:42. > :03:47.It's not a bad strike at all and Craig Gordon had to look very lively

:03:48. > :03:51.to keep it out. A great save. That's more like it from County. Shock gets

:03:52. > :04:10.over the ball, fires it. -- Schalk. Irvine stabbed it through, on Gordon

:04:11. > :04:17.here. Well, well, it's another red card for Celtic and it's Ambrose who

:04:18. > :04:28.goes. This has turned on 6p here Hampden. He goes across just there.

:04:29. > :04:31.He goes down. As soon as the referee thinks that's a penalty kick,

:04:32. > :04:37.unfortunately he's going to get the red card.

:04:38. > :04:49.Against Craig Bourton. He has yet to score this season. Woods has scored.

:04:50. > :04:56.Ross County level the semifinal, and has the pendulum swung the way of

:04:57. > :05:01.highlanders? It's a perfect penalty. You don't get any better. Gordon,

:05:02. > :05:04.even if he had guessed right, I don't think he would have saved

:05:05. > :05:17.that. Right into the corner, the perfect penalty from Martin Woods.

:05:18. > :05:26.He had to be brave and he was. A good ball into the box from Celtic.

:05:27. > :05:30.Initially I gratefully, front post, the goalkeeper gets the hand to it

:05:31. > :05:40.and he is hoping his defenders can bail him out.

:05:41. > :05:41.and he is hoping his defenders can gets in there and catches him, a

:05:42. > :05:48.genuine challenge. Woods will take the corner for counting macro, the

:05:49. > :05:52.first of the second half. -- County. Would you believe it, Paul Quinn, on

:05:53. > :05:59.his debut, has scored the winner against Celtic for Celtic against

:06:00. > :06:03.Aberdeen early in the season, has given Ross County the lead in the

:06:04. > :06:09.second half. What story! Billion by Davies and Paul Quinn there is it

:06:10. > :06:12.into the back of the net -- brilliant by Davies. It

:06:13. > :06:20.into the back of the net -- an absolute treat for the side.

:06:21. > :06:34.Irvine twists it into the path, he has found Schalk. A big chance! It

:06:35. > :06:41.looks like deja vu here at Hampden. Schalk strokes Ross County into a

:06:42. > :06:43.3-1 lead against the holders. Supercool, what a ball

:06:44. > :06:49.3-1 lead against the holders. perfect ball, perfect play, Schalk

:06:50. > :06:55.just has to pick his spot. A wonderful finish. I tell you what,

:06:56. > :06:59.what ball that is, but it absolutely perfectly for his team-mate. I

:07:00. > :07:02.what ball that is, but it absolutely the Celtic manager now, does he go

:07:03. > :07:08.for it? Stick on a couple of subs, see if that makes a difference?

:07:09. > :07:19.Johansen's corner. It's a penalty, is it? Yes. Was

:07:20. > :07:22.Johansen's corner. It's a penalty, the box? And Craig Thomson has

:07:23. > :07:27.pointed straight to the spot. This is a lifeline. Well, I'm looking at

:07:28. > :07:31.Ross County players and one or two are asking the question, as it comes

:07:32. > :07:38.in here, he has gone to head it, headed on to his own hands. I tell

:07:39. > :07:48.you what, it's the sub. Griffith versus Fox. Saved by the Ross County

:07:49. > :07:52.keeper. Their lifeline has been spurned, and Celtic have missed

:07:53. > :07:59.their goals. It lets them down in the semifinal. It certainly wasn't

:08:00. > :08:01.as best penalty. Nowhere near the corner. Decent pace, but perfect

:08:02. > :08:07.height for the goalkeeper to save. corner. Decent pace, but perfect

:08:08. > :08:11.Another historic victory for Ross County against Celtic at Hampden.

:08:12. > :08:19.Here comes Gardyne. Lovely ball in for Irvine. Had the chance to seal

:08:20. > :08:23.it. It's another brilliant move again, Martin Woods with the ball,

:08:24. > :08:29.Michael Gardyne sceptred about the far post. Jackson Irvine hits it

:08:30. > :08:33.well, but straight at the keeper. Tierney, for Griffiths, takes it

:08:34. > :08:41.down, looking for a sight at the goal. Brilliant goalkeeping by Fox.

:08:42. > :08:45.That took at least one deflection. The one job of the goalkeeper is

:08:46. > :08:54.keep it out of the back of the net and that is a magnificent save. It's

:08:55. > :09:01.all over. Ross County are into the League Cup final. It is

:09:02. > :09:04.all over. Ross County are into the Celtic. What will the repercussions

:09:05. > :09:10.be for the big Norwegian? There will be no trouble for Celtic. There is

:09:11. > :09:16.joy for the studies, there is -- this is their day. Just look at the

:09:17. > :09:21.facial expression on those wearing a Ross County badge. And so very

:09:22. > :09:27.proudly they do so. It finished here at the National Stadium, Ross County

:09:28. > :09:28.three, Celtic one. I thought the players were magnificent, to lose a

:09:29. > :09:31.goal the players were magnificent, to lose a

:09:32. > :09:35.goal the way we did, it was the exact opposite of the game plan and

:09:36. > :09:41.obviously we had to show courage and character to come back. I thought

:09:42. > :09:44.the opening ten minutes, the goal knocked the stuffing out of us and

:09:45. > :09:48.Celtic were all over us. We had to hang in there. Celtic are a top side

:09:49. > :09:52.and we were down to ten men twice this year and didn't get the job

:09:53. > :09:55.done, so absolutely thrilled. I think you said at the end of last

:09:56. > :10:00.year you were pretty confident and hopeful you could go on and win the

:10:01. > :10:05.treble this year. How big a blow is that due this season? I don't think

:10:06. > :10:10.I said that. It's very tough to do that. History shows that. But you

:10:11. > :10:16.always have a dream and I hope and they had it today and we started

:10:17. > :10:20.very well, it looks like we had the game in our hands and things changed

:10:21. > :10:25.and that is very disappointing. Can you go all the way? Of course we

:10:26. > :10:29.can, we beat Celtic, it gives us confidence in the squad. We have

:10:30. > :10:33.them next week in the league. We finished top six. We are looking for

:10:34. > :10:38.fourth position as well. Finish as high as we can. We have a good squad

:10:39. > :10:50.in their and of course we can win the Cup now, of course we can.

:10:51. > :10:57.It was the right decision for a penalty and a sending off? There

:10:58. > :11:03.were some big moments, not necessarily tactical things. A

:11:04. > :11:15.lovely bit of play. This passing is very good. He is going to make that

:11:16. > :11:20.run in their behind Michael Lustig. He should probably be looking at it,

:11:21. > :11:27.but it is a beautiful dummy. You have a look at when the a nice

:11:28. > :11:33.dummy. The question everybody wants to know what is it a penalty kick or

:11:34. > :11:42.is it a sending off. To be fair I think you cannot argue with that. It

:11:43. > :11:46.has caught him there. Once you make any contact in the box and you are

:11:47. > :11:51.running at pace, the referee is going to give a penalty. There is

:11:52. > :11:58.not much of a tackle, but he just catches him. I made an argument

:11:59. > :12:08.today that may be some of the Celtic fans thought it was a sending off as

:12:09. > :12:12.well. He passed him and then once the penalties given, there is no

:12:13. > :12:19.alternative but to send him off. It is unfortunate for Michael Ambrose.

:12:20. > :12:31.He should be thinking he had no alternative but to chase them. That

:12:32. > :12:33.was a big moment. The referees will give the penalty and will give the

:12:34. > :12:58.sending off. Was this within the rules? Right at

:12:59. > :13:09.the top. Michael listed is picking up Alan Davies, but he blocks him

:13:10. > :13:14.off. Mikael Lustig. He is going to go down there, he has his man

:13:15. > :13:19.blocked. That is number one. The other one you look at is Craig

:13:20. > :13:26.Gordon. There is an arm around him. I am looking down and thinking there

:13:27. > :13:34.is a goalkeeper here. The blocks that off. He had to go down and

:13:35. > :13:39.react to the cross. -- he blocks. That is a definite free kick

:13:40. > :13:43.forming. Craig Gordon goes absolutely berserk. There is a

:13:44. > :13:47.movement here. That is another error. I would make an excuse the

:13:48. > :13:58.Celtic defence, they do all sorts of different things. The referee's

:13:59. > :14:05.perfect position. I would make the argument, referees cannot see that

:14:06. > :14:12.block or what is done there. He is in the position to see everything.

:14:13. > :14:17.There is always a problem. There are mistakes by Celtic. You have to give

:14:18. > :14:21.credit to Ross County and how they have perfected that corner kick.

:14:22. > :14:30.They worked it really well and they got that reward from it. He got to

:14:31. > :14:34.the track and it is forward. What you would remember about Celtic, I

:14:35. > :14:42.thought they were having more of a play for long periods. It was

:14:43. > :14:45.against ten men. The performance from Ross County, really impressive,

:14:46. > :14:52.the young goalkeeper played a blinder. I have never seen anything

:14:53. > :14:55.else from him. A good save for a penalty kick,

:14:56. > :14:58.else from him. A good save for a ball land. I have never seen a

:14:59. > :15:03.else from him. A good save for a go that far in my life, absolutely

:15:04. > :15:05.incredible. This is a brilliant save, all the bodies in front. He is

:15:06. > :15:09.going one way and he gets save, all the bodies in front. He is

:15:10. > :15:13.luck and it goes over the crossbar. save, all the bodies in front. He is

:15:14. > :15:18.They have travelled around Europe save, all the bodies in front. He is

:15:19. > :15:25.their hands, it is the modern way. When you

:15:26. > :15:28.their hands, it is the modern way. great save. I think that is

:15:29. > :15:34.world-class, you meant to do that, it had a deflection, that is

:15:35. > :15:39.world-class. A fantastic result for Ross County. Where does this leave

:15:40. > :15:51.Rodney Tyler. The fans will be disappointed. -- Deila.

:15:52. > :15:53.So Ross County into their very first League Cup Final.

:15:54. > :15:55.Yesterday at Tynecastle saw the first of the semifinals,

:15:56. > :15:58.Hibs and St Johnstone both vying for a place in the final on Sunday

:15:59. > :16:07.Watching for Sportscene was Alasdair Lamont.

:16:08. > :16:14.The last time these teams were on mutual territory it was for a League

:16:15. > :16:24.Cup semifinal right here at Tynecastle. The men from League 1,

:16:25. > :16:30.3-1, they lifted the trophy by beating Kilmarnock. Alex Stubbs

:16:31. > :16:35.tries to clinch the first piece of silverware, they have been unable to

:16:36. > :16:42.bring Anthony Stokes into the team. The only change to this side is the

:16:43. > :17:01.introduction of Berkeley. Quite an atmosphere inside

:17:02. > :17:06.Tynecastle for Quite an atmosphere inside

:17:07. > :17:18.semifinal. St Johnstone are underway. The stadium belongs to

:17:19. > :17:30.Hibernian's city rivals. They have been dominated by fans from Leith.

:17:31. > :17:35.St Johnstone fans. This is promising for Hibernian. David

:17:36. > :17:39.St Johnstone fans. This is promising supporting from full-back, a good

:17:40. > :17:49.cross. Stephen Anderson with a header clear. St Johnstone packing

:17:50. > :17:54.away. Jason Cummings coming inside deadly with the penalty. Gave

:17:55. > :18:13.Anderson the chance there, the head clear before he could get on the end

:18:14. > :18:18.of it. Penalty kick. Chris Miller takes Henderson down just inside the

:18:19. > :18:26.box. His finger pointing in the face from Steven McLean. Chris Miller

:18:27. > :18:37.incensed by Henderson going down. The officials have taken the

:18:38. > :18:42.decision. Steven McLean has been told in no uncertain terms by the St

:18:43. > :18:56.Johnstone striker who was shown the yellow card, he goes to challenge.

:18:57. > :19:04.Henderson looked very keen to go down. You have to say. Regardless

:19:05. > :19:12.-in have the opportunity to take the lead here at Tynecastle. Jason

:19:13. > :19:16.Cummings rolls it into the corner and Hibernian have the championship,

:19:17. > :19:21.they make the breakthrough, as cool as you like. Jason Cummings gets it

:19:22. > :19:46.past Alan -- the goalkeeper. Back into the box, the header! Joe

:19:47. > :19:53.Shaughnessy! They are back on level terms. They were only behind for a

:19:54. > :19:59.matter of three minutes and they will feel that is very much

:20:00. > :20:06.deserved. Joe Shaughnessy got the free kick. There was no chance the

:20:07. > :20:17.goalkeeper was going to keep that out.

:20:18. > :20:35.Up against John McGinn. Alive to the danger. Here is Davison. Right on

:20:36. > :20:39.the edge of the box. I am not sure there is any more contact on this

:20:40. > :20:49.occasion than there was the last time. Simon Lappin fires it in and

:20:50. > :21:02.it clipped the top of the bar. Simon Lappin just inches away. So unlucky

:21:03. > :21:14.here for Simon Lappin. Here is John McGinn. It may work for him. So

:21:15. > :21:17.close across the Hibernian goal. The Hibernian fans really feel the game

:21:18. > :21:29.is theirs for the taking at the moment. Joe Shaughnessy, picks it up

:21:30. > :21:40.and goes for gold. Beautiful goals from John McGinn. Blistering effort

:21:41. > :21:48.from the midfielder. This is no more than a half chance the German game

:21:49. > :21:54.-- for John McGinn. Boy did he let rip. He has put Hibs in the final of

:21:55. > :22:11.the League Cup. Again a lovely ball. Can you finish

:22:12. > :22:20.it the Hibs. Not quite. -- can he finish it for Hibs? He just missed

:22:21. > :22:32.the target. A narrow angle, what a pass for John McGinn. Here is John

:22:33. > :22:39.McGinn. A lovely turn away from Davison. Challenged by Joe

:22:40. > :22:49.Shaughnessy. Again he is offside, what a run from John McGinn. Three

:22:50. > :23:01.or four defenders there. Joe Shaughnessy was challenged. Can the

:23:02. > :23:11.captain get him back in it, no is the answer. The referee blows his

:23:12. > :23:17.whistle! It is Hibernian who have come out on top. They go to the

:23:18. > :23:28.League Cup final. Their tremendous run of form continues. I believe in

:23:29. > :23:35.the team. We have managed to get to one cup final which I am so proud of

:23:36. > :23:40.the players, they deserve all the accolades and the pats on the back

:23:41. > :23:55.today, because they not only made me proud, but they made 12 thousand 500

:23:56. > :24:03.fans proud as well. -- 12,000 500. We are disappointed but we will pick

:24:04. > :24:07.ourselves up. It is such a great occasion for everyone involved in

:24:08. > :24:12.the club. It is a great day out for all the fans. A great performance

:24:13. > :24:17.from John McGinn. A fantastic result. No doubt about the talking

:24:18. > :24:22.point of the weekend. It has been poured over a million times, the

:24:23. > :24:28.Henderson penalty. Was there contact? I would love to be able to

:24:29. > :24:32.tell you if there was or wasn't. It was almost impossible. From where I

:24:33. > :24:39.was, to be brutally honest, I don't think so. He looks at that one and

:24:40. > :24:44.it looks as if there is a little brush. If there is a brush, it is

:24:45. > :24:46.exactly the same as what we were saying before about Ambrose. It is

:24:47. > :24:52.either a penalty or it is not a saying before about Ambrose. It is

:24:53. > :24:56.penalty. It is the softest of softest penalties. When you or any

:24:57. > :25:01.at pace and someone sticks out their leg and I think Chris Miller could

:25:02. > :25:04.have gone with his arms. Once you stick out your arm, if there is any

:25:05. > :25:16.touch, he has gone down. He put his hands up at the end but

:25:17. > :25:22.he had stuck out his leg and that's the difference between Ambrose's

:25:23. > :25:25.situation with Celtic, he put his knee into the player and didn't

:25:26. > :25:29.stick out his leg, so there is an argument yes, it was a penalty, if

:25:30. > :25:34.he has touched them and that's a bit we are unsure about. Some people

:25:35. > :25:37.will feel he died. I don't think there was a dive. He made the most

:25:38. > :25:44.of it shall we say, euphemistically, and his movement was impeded, you

:25:45. > :25:48.can save much. Chris comes across a bit so his movement is impeded even

:25:49. > :25:53.if he wasn't touched, he has moved out of the way, so off-balance. A

:25:54. > :26:00.dive is far too harsh. McGinn played brilliantly yesterday. We talked

:26:01. > :26:05.about at St Mirren. He was crunching into tackles, it's great to see a

:26:06. > :26:08.young Scots player in the League Cup with energy in the middle of the

:26:09. > :26:13.pitch and he can pass the ball too. He has a good awareness and he is in

:26:14. > :26:20.there, driving that team. A little bit out of position. You could see a

:26:21. > :26:21.little bit, he looked at himself, he will know himself maybe if you could

:26:22. > :26:26.have got to it but will know himself maybe if you could

:26:27. > :26:30.strike, dipping down in front of the back of the net, but look at this,

:26:31. > :26:35.great awareness, good pass, sets up diagonal, could have been in goal

:26:36. > :26:41.and we will see the run at the end. But he had a superb game yesterday.

:26:42. > :26:46.It's great to see a personality here as well, isn't it? This strike is

:26:47. > :26:58.brilliant, we have watched Synod in Sudan famously, a great run --

:26:59. > :27:02.Zidane. Alan Stubbs has said ice trust you as lads, believing you as

:27:03. > :27:06.lads, I enjoy your football, sure what you can do and you know how

:27:07. > :27:12.much better that makes you feel as a creative player, it's incredible.

:27:13. > :27:18.Who is favourite for the final, Ross County your heads? It's hard to call

:27:19. > :27:22.it, Hibs are playing with abundance and confidence but Ross County

:27:23. > :27:27.getting there and John McIntyre has done a magnificent job. To go on the

:27:28. > :27:32.run they went on, they are up now in the top six in the league, now they

:27:33. > :27:36.have beaten Celtic. They will be getting into high-end confidence and

:27:37. > :27:42.it may turn out to be a terrific final. I'm guessing you are batting

:27:43. > :27:48.-- backing Hibs? I think it is 50-50, a toss of the coin. There is

:27:49. > :27:52.not much between the two teams. Hibs are a lower league team, not playing

:27:53. > :27:58.well and they have better players than that but any lower league team

:27:59. > :28:00.you have to give them respect. They are only slight favourites.

:28:01. > :28:02.Next weekend, it's all about a different Cup.

:28:03. > :28:04.But hopefully more of the same when it comes to drama,

:28:25. > :28:32.MUSIC COMMENTATOR:

:28:33. > :28:39.This is history, right here, right now. Highland history!

:28:40. > :28:42.All the action from the Scottish Cup.

:28:43. > :28:44.Join us at 10:30pm on BBC One Scotland.

:28:45. > :28:47.Sportscene's then back at 2:45pm on Sunday on BBC One Scotland,

:28:48. > :28:49.live coverage of East Kilbride's giant-killing attempt against

:28:50. > :28:54.And on Sunday night a second bout of highlights, all the weekend

:28:55. > :28:57.action in our regular Sunday night slot - albeit at the slightly

:28:58. > :29:04.Two Premiership matches now - and one Premiership manager didn't

:29:05. > :29:09.Gary Locke the third top-flight boss to vacate his position this season.

:29:10. > :29:14.After the match that sealed his fate, Hamilton Academical

:29:15. > :29:30.Kilmarnock make four changes after the thrashing from Dundee United.

:29:31. > :29:37.McHattie starts along with McKenzie, Robinson and Boyd, others dropout.

:29:38. > :29:44.Hamilton make one change from the side that drew with Hearts last

:29:45. > :29:51.season -- last weekend. Here is McHattie. Finding Kiltie.

:29:52. > :30:03.Good lay-off, McHattie. Good build-up from Kilmarnock. Lloyd

:30:04. > :30:10.setting up the opportunity there for the former Hearts fullback -- Boyd.

:30:11. > :30:18.McHattie not too far away with that effort. Kilmarnock, one defeat in

:30:19. > :30:25.the last four matches. They have only picked up one win in the last

:30:26. > :30:32.six. Here is Morris. Collides with Ashcroft, it is Crawford's. A touch

:30:33. > :30:37.on that want to knock it wide. Crawford set -- certainly felt he

:30:38. > :30:41.did. The referee played good advantage, after Ashcroft took out

:30:42. > :30:51.Morris, and Crawford just couldn't find the back of the net.

:30:52. > :30:59.McGuinness is trying his luck from distance. -- Josh Magennis. He

:31:00. > :31:00.wasn't going to beat McGovern with that effort, but good linkup play

:31:01. > :31:14.between the two strikers. Since last beating Kilmarnock,

:31:15. > :31:24.lackeys have won only one of their last 15 games. -- Hamilton

:31:25. > :31:28.Academicals. Flicked on by Imrie, and Jamie McDonnell quickly in their

:31:29. > :31:39.to turn it away from the onrushing Lyon.

:31:40. > :31:45.Back in towards Boyd, who has gone to ground in a challenge with

:31:46. > :31:54.Devlin, Kilmarnock claiming for the penalty kick. The referee waved play

:31:55. > :32:02.on. Here is Hamilton Academicals on the counter. It's Imrie. Good effort

:32:03. > :32:07.from Imrie, just too high. He is the top scorer, with five goals this

:32:08. > :32:13.season. But trying to catch out McDonald with a curling effort,

:32:14. > :32:18.couldn't get it down. At the other end, Kilmarnock certainly were

:32:19. > :32:23.claiming for that penalty. It was Josh Magennis with the ball back in,

:32:24. > :32:24.Devlin and Boyd collide, and the referee saw nothing untoward in that

:32:25. > :32:36.incident. The header away from Jamie Hamill,

:32:37. > :32:48.too high from the Kilmarnock substitute. They are looking for a

:32:49. > :32:53.look -- they are looking for a push to their confidence after last

:32:54. > :32:58.week's disappointment. It's only Kris Boyd's ninth league start of

:32:59. > :33:08.the season. He scored three goals so far, that was close to number four.

:33:09. > :33:16.Locked away, Hamilton Academicals have the corner.

:33:17. > :33:24.Crawford with it. Hamilton Adam Gemili full have the lead, 19

:33:25. > :33:30.minutes from the end, Gemili full have the lead, 19

:33:31. > :33:36.Morris on the scoresheet for the fourth time this season. The player

:33:37. > :33:39.on loan from Norwich, his effort coming off the head and it took a

:33:40. > :33:48.deflection off the Kilmarnock player, and Jamie McDonald couldn't

:33:49. > :33:54.keep it out. Kilmarnock keen to get back on level terms.

:33:55. > :34:09.In towards Carrick. That was a great opportunity to level things up and

:34:10. > :34:16.Carrick knows that. Carrick had a good first touch but the second

:34:17. > :34:23.wasn't too clever. Hamilton have won in their last two visits to Rugby

:34:24. > :34:28.Park. This could be three in a row. Here is Ali Crawford, Jamie

:34:29. > :34:32.McDonnell is right behind that one, and Hamilton are desperate to hold

:34:33. > :34:38.out here and pick up their first win in their last nine league matches.

:34:39. > :34:42.Overall I didn't think it was a great game, quite a poor game. Both

:34:43. > :34:48.sides at times, especially ourselves, fought early in the game,

:34:49. > :34:51.nervous and a bit looking -- lacking in confidence with so many players

:34:52. > :34:53.but the only way they are going to get through it is

:34:54. > :34:56.but the only way they are going to there wasn't a lot in the

:34:57. > :35:02.but the only way they are going to looked like it would finish 0-0. The

:35:03. > :35:05.performances most important, it's a big result for us, it's never an

:35:06. > :35:10.easy place to come. I'm really pleased with the effort the boys

:35:11. > :35:12.easy place to come. I'm really look -- put in, they looked solid.

:35:13. > :35:17.We broke away in the last 20 look -- put in, they looked solid.

:35:18. > :35:20.and we should have taken one more chance at least and given ourselves

:35:21. > :35:24.breathing space but the most important thing was to win the game

:35:25. > :35:28.and I'm delighted to have done so. And following that defeat, Gary

:35:29. > :35:32.Locke resigned as Kilmarnock manager. Did that surprise you? It

:35:33. > :35:35.surprised me manager. Did that surprise you? It

:35:36. > :35:39.interview, it didn't look if it was in his mind to resign but when the

:35:40. > :35:42.crowd turn against you, their home form has been the thing that has

:35:43. > :35:46.killed them this year, I have watched them down there and they

:35:47. > :35:51.were hammered against Partick Thistle, I watched that game, and

:35:52. > :35:56.when you're a bit against Dundee United 5-1, a team below you, and

:35:57. > :35:58.getting beaten at home at home again against Hamilton, the pressure

:35:59. > :36:01.getting beaten at home at home again on and he thought, time to walk away

:36:02. > :36:04.and give it to somebody else but disappointing for Gary. He's a young

:36:05. > :36:09.manager and we don't see young guys going out of the game. Pat Nevin,

:36:10. > :36:12.who's next? We understand Billy Davis is going to speak to

:36:13. > :36:16.Kilmarnock in the next 24 hours. Is he the right man right now? There

:36:17. > :36:21.are a lot of things Billy would bring to the job. There are guys who

:36:22. > :36:24.can do it out there but there will be no lack of effort. He is one of

:36:25. > :36:28.the most intense managers you'll ever come across and no stone will

:36:29. > :36:35.be left unturned. There will be plenty of managers. Jimmy Calderwood

:36:36. > :36:44.have mentioned. Stuart McCall might be mentioned. You need somebody

:36:45. > :36:48.experienced quickly. It's a tough job to take. A certain level of

:36:49. > :36:52.managers think it could look bad if they take it and it goes wrong for

:36:53. > :36:57.them. That's 25% of the managers so far this season have lost their

:36:58. > :37:00.jobs, it's an horrendous job to take up and I have respect for those that

:37:01. > :37:06.do it. I feel sorry for Gary Locke. A massive victory for Hamilton

:37:07. > :37:11.Academicals, it was all was going to be a big result of one of these

:37:12. > :37:17.sides could get three points. Yes, he put it into that area and you get

:37:18. > :37:22.free, got a bit of luck, took a deflection but he is claiming that

:37:23. > :37:28.goal, a big, big goal. They don't win that, Kilmarnock to win it, one

:37:29. > :37:31.goal either way. Kilmarnock find themselves above Hamilton that just

:37:32. > :37:35.now and that's how tight it is, how close. It's a really tough gig.

:37:36. > :37:38.Next up, Dundee, looking at top six, versus a Motherwell side trying

:37:39. > :37:40.to put some distance between themselves and a play-off place.

:37:41. > :37:46.Commentary comes from Paul Mitchell.

:37:47. > :37:49.Dundee safely through in the Scottish Cup against Falkirk, two

:37:50. > :37:59.changes. A narrow home loss to Ross County

:38:00. > :38:07.last week, one change for Mark McGhee.

:38:08. > :38:21.That's long looking. Johnson going for the byline, it's a great ball

:38:22. > :38:26.across, taken down. An opening goal after four minutes, his first goal

:38:27. > :38:33.for Motherwell, his 11th appearance. after four minutes, his first goal

:38:34. > :38:36.He has scored in senior football on loan to Rovers but that's an

:38:37. > :38:40.absolute belter. Johnson played it across and he had the confidence to

:38:41. > :38:46.bring it down and hit it sweetly with the left foot.

:38:47. > :38:59.Dundee U looking to strike back. And he has the equaliser. It's McGowan's

:39:00. > :39:05.first goal in almost a year. Brought under control superbly. The turn and

:39:06. > :39:11.the dispatch. Dundee are level inside two minutes, 1-1. The snow is

:39:12. > :39:19.relentless. McGowan is forward again. Peter fourball, wide, to

:39:20. > :39:24.Hemmings. -- beautiful ball. Nine goals in his last six games for

:39:25. > :39:31.Dundee, Hemmings is a constant threat and shows again good play. He

:39:32. > :39:39.has managed in better conditions, Mark McGhee. There is no takers.

:39:40. > :39:44.Horrible ones for goalkeepers, Scott Bain having to stretch out here. He

:39:45. > :39:51.will have worried about the touch. That's a really good stop.

:39:52. > :39:58.McGowan is calling for it. Pulls it back, off the bar. It should have

:39:59. > :40:04.been, from Rory Loy. This is a miss back, off the bar. It should have

:40:05. > :40:14.from four yards out, beautiful play, had to score, simply had to score.

:40:15. > :40:27.Simply had to score. A couple of pushes and away. He is so dangerous.

:40:28. > :40:38.He likes the run. Confident on the left foot. Working the 1-2 with the

:40:39. > :40:44.ball. This is brilliant from Pearson. He scores for the third

:40:45. > :41:28.straight game against Dundee. The effort, may well have been going

:41:29. > :41:48.wide. You are not sure. Plays it through. Almost releases the past.

:41:49. > :42:01.Here is Pearson. He is offside. The celebration is quickly could tail.

:42:02. > :42:13.You put the game beyond Dundee. He tries to get the ball away. The

:42:14. > :42:19.referee was in a good position. Dundee will get the spot kick. He

:42:20. > :42:30.just tried to hook it away. He did not think he caught him. The referee

:42:31. > :42:51.did. Perfectly dispatched. He scores perfectly here for 2-2. A face like

:42:52. > :43:00.fears. -- fizz. A good stop from Conor Ripley. We are in a dogfight

:43:01. > :43:06.to avoid the play-offs all worse, to avoid relegation at the moment.

:43:07. > :43:11.Every point accounts and to have him almost over the line, a difficult

:43:12. > :43:15.defensive performance in the second half. We had a chance at the other

:43:16. > :43:20.end that probably should have finished the game. The strategy was

:43:21. > :43:29.right, I felt we deserved to win the game and the referee made a terrible

:43:30. > :43:37.call. Paul Hartley did not speak to us. Was there any contact? The

:43:38. > :43:42.referee certainly thought there was. I did not think there was contact.

:43:43. > :43:49.They are trying to kick the ball away. You can have a look at it

:43:50. > :43:56.here. It was headed out, trying to clear it. I cannot see much contact.

:43:57. > :44:03.There does seem a sense of surprise when the referee gives it. The

:44:04. > :44:09.referee is in a good position. If you have the Hibs penalty, there is

:44:10. > :44:15.one half decent kick between the three of them. They are all just

:44:16. > :44:19.tiny glances. The only one you can absolutely clearly see is Ambrose as

:44:20. > :44:24.the connection. The others you cannot absolutely see those

:44:25. > :44:29.connections. Mark will be really disappointed. The last time I was on

:44:30. > :44:34.here, I gave Mark a big build-up and he was doing well and they have not

:44:35. > :44:40.done anything since that. I will not give Mark praise again. In saying

:44:41. > :44:44.that he will be disappointed, a big result away from home and they were

:44:45. > :44:51.2-1 up and to lose that goal late on, he was really annoyed. They do

:44:52. > :45:03.score a lot of goals, just three clean sheets this season.

:45:04. > :45:11.This is a brilliant move. We were talking about some of the great

:45:12. > :45:17.moves. Dribbling through from a distance. There are opportunities.

:45:18. > :45:27.Do you know what? That just makes for a good game of football. Lots of

:45:28. > :45:34.chances. You go out there, you close things down.

:45:35. > :45:48.chances. You go out there, you close finish. This one to be honest,

:45:49. > :45:53.honestly, fabulous. Six goals, eight games, he has been injured. David

:45:54. > :45:59.Pearson, I think he is very special, he has had one of the best seasons

:46:00. > :46:00.of his career. Those two matches leave the Premiership table looking

:46:01. > :46:09.like this. In recent times Falkirk had

:46:10. > :46:12.pushed their way very much Yesterday a real top of the table

:46:13. > :46:16.clash as Peter Houston's side travelled to Ibrox to test

:46:17. > :46:39.their mettle against leaders Rangers make two changes for the

:46:40. > :46:50.victory. Falkirk were on Scottish Cup duty during the week.

:46:51. > :46:59.Missed the cup tie during the week, he was not signed in time the

:47:00. > :47:21.original tie. -- for the original tie. It is an inviting ball across.

:47:22. > :47:32.The shot is a strong one. He is very direct when he has to be, plenty of

:47:33. > :47:39.power, deflection as well. Scored in both league meetings this evening

:47:40. > :47:43.between the two. It was always rising when he appreciated the pass

:47:44. > :47:59.to set up the opportunity for the midfielder. On loan from Hearts.

:48:00. > :48:05.to set up the opportunity for the Poor from Rangers, giving the ball

:48:06. > :48:12.away. That is a hopeful one. Rogers has to watch. Even Dean Shiels

:48:13. > :48:21.shakes his head at this one. You did not get it away at all as he

:48:22. > :48:32.planned. -- he did not. Hoping for support. Inviting into the middle,

:48:33. > :48:46.not dealt with well. Bird with a second chance. It will be cleared.

:48:47. > :48:58.-- Baird. That is a great challenge from Danny Wilson. Dean Shiels,

:48:59. > :49:17.plays out wide. Not too much of an impact. Offside. Celebrations are

:49:18. > :49:30.cut short. Well offside. Deflection into the middle. Wilson did well.

:49:31. > :49:39.Had to make the save. He is on a mission to make the save today.

:49:40. > :49:47.Trying to drive them forward, breaking the deadlock here. Good

:49:48. > :49:58.shot. He is full,'s designated shooters of the day. -- full Kirk --

:49:59. > :50:15.Falkirk's. Billy King gets involved, tries

:50:16. > :50:26.shot. Got the ball. Closed down in the end. The shot is deflected onto

:50:27. > :50:40.the keeper. Always looking to make space. It is a really good effort

:50:41. > :50:53.from Rangers to set him up here. The shop was very weak. -- the shot.

:50:54. > :51:05.Let's just hit and hope. Coming in at the back stick. Not really

:51:06. > :51:16.troubling the goalkeeper. Pushing for a winner, Rangers. The header!

:51:17. > :51:28.He has secured all three points for the home side. Falkirk thought they

:51:29. > :51:49.had done enough. Billy King is an instant hero.

:51:50. > :51:59.A lot of chat about Michael O'Halloran and whether he will go to

:52:00. > :52:14.Rangers. When they are playing well, they are a joy to watch. A lot came

:52:15. > :52:20.from the left-hand side. They have a lot of players there who are attack

:52:21. > :52:25.minded. They are given the freedom to move around and they do not play

:52:26. > :52:33.in a position as such. That is difficult for defenders and they

:52:34. > :52:39.have excitement in the team. Next year there will be a big question

:52:40. > :52:49.whether they can move up. Can they challenge at the top end? Time will

:52:50. > :53:00.tell. They looked in really good form. Billy King, he is the story. A

:53:01. > :53:01.dream start. The last goal and of course they will be thinking thanks

:53:02. > :53:13.very much Hearts. It may course they will be thinking thanks

:53:14. > :53:17.effect in the end. It may have an effect for Hibernian. There is

:53:18. > :53:20.plenty of depth in that team. They are enjoying it so much, maybe it

:53:21. > :53:25.will help them have success at the end.

:53:26. > :53:53.Until then, from all of us on the team, goodnight.

:53:54. > :54:03.Well, it is another yellow card for Celtic. Hibernian celebrate.

:54:04. > :54:05.Well, it is another yellow card for County adding to the League Cup
