:00:20. > :00:27.The anthems ahead of Scotland's last match of 2013. The Tartan Army are

:00:28. > :00:30.in Molde following Gordon Strachan and company. Norway versus Scotland

:00:31. > :01:38.coming up. Norway against Scotland is live on

:01:39. > :01:46.the BBC. Commentary coming from Billy Dodds and Liam McLeod.

:01:47. > :01:55.A year of transition for Scotland ends. The curtain comes down on act

:01:56. > :02:06.one for the new coach. Gordon Strachan looking at a 4-4-3-2-1

:02:07. > :02:11.formation. Pedersen is back to cover injuries. The former Blackburn man

:02:12. > :02:21.scored twice the last time the Scots were in this country in 2009. The

:02:22. > :02:22.keeper is getting his first cap tonight. The front two have just

:02:23. > :02:45.eight between them. It is 4-2-3-1 again for Scotland.

:02:46. > :02:51.There is a first skater for Craig -- start for Craig Bryson. Anya is back

:02:52. > :02:58.in on the left for his fourth cap. Steven Naismith replaces Stephen

:02:59. > :03:03.Fletcher up front. Stephen Fletcher back with Sunderland. Gordon

:03:04. > :03:07.Strachan felt he had seen enough of the main striker for the national

:03:08. > :03:15.team just now. The officials didn't have to travel too far. They are

:03:16. > :03:20.from Sweden. 36-year-old Martin Strombergsson is the referee and he

:03:21. > :03:28.has been in charge of top flight games in Sweden for four years.

:03:29. > :03:33.There has been some serious lights coming through the national team in

:03:34. > :03:38.recent times and they want to end Gordon Strachan's first year on a

:03:39. > :03:43.high note. And they're taking on a know wee January -- Norwegian side

:03:44. > :03:53.about a year behind the Scots in form and ability. They flopped badly

:03:54. > :04:00.in their World Cup Qualifier if Iing Qualifier if Iing group. They

:04:01. > :04:07.feignished fourth -- finished fourth. They were just a point

:04:08. > :04:11.better off than lowly Albania were the Norwegians. A Scotland win

:04:12. > :04:18.tonight would see them win back-to-back away games for the

:04:19. > :04:31.first time in six years. They have beaten Macedonia and Croatia away

:04:32. > :04:37.before the low-key 0-0 draw with the United States at the weekend. How do

:04:38. > :04:42.the Scots approach this game, Billy Dodds? Well full of confidence, but

:04:43. > :04:48.it is a difficult pitch. Just looking for another decent

:04:49. > :04:55.performance. We have got the momentum and that should see is

:04:56. > :05:03.through nicely to the draw for the European Championships in Nice in

:05:04. > :05:11.February. We thought Snodgrass may tock in behind, but it is Bryson.

:05:12. > :05:17.Snodgrass is out on the right. Scandinavia in mid-November, there

:05:18. > :05:19.is much to look forward to before February's euro draw something to

:05:20. > :05:33.anticipate. The snow has been falling heavily

:05:34. > :05:43.today. Just a few hours ago it was a white sheet out there. There was a

:05:44. > :06:06.first touch for Forren who plays his club football here.

:06:07. > :06:22.Pedersen the first experienced player in the Norwegian line up.

:06:23. > :06:28.Steady defending from Whittaker. Some expected Lee Wallace to start

:06:29. > :06:49.tonight. Gordon Greer had a comfortable night

:06:50. > :06:53.against the United States. Yes a couple of scary moments. But he is

:06:54. > :07:01.on the left tonight and he played on the right the other night. So it is

:07:02. > :07:05.another test for him. Two strikers, Gordon Greer and Russell Martin have

:07:06. > :07:08.to contend with tonight. Just the second time there has been an

:07:09. > :07:18.international here in Molde. The first was back in May 1998, Norway

:07:19. > :07:22.beat Saudi Arabia 6-0 in a friendly match ahead of the World Cup in

:07:23. > :07:54.France. They were of course in Scotland's group.

:07:55. > :08:02.Norway were beaten in Denmark when Scotland were playing the United

:08:03. > :08:06.States. They lost 2-1. Both goals they conceded came from crosses,

:08:07. > :08:43.headers. Because we only have the lone

:08:44. > :09:02.striker, they can push their full backs forward. Hogly on the left and

:09:03. > :09:07.the other one. A reasonable ball in there for Marcus Pedersen. He got

:09:08. > :09:16.the goal on Friday in Denmark. He is on loan at Barnsley from Arnhem.

:09:17. > :09:24.David Marshall earning his tenth cap tonight. What will the conditions be

:09:25. > :09:31.like. The snow was falling for most of the morning. It will be a slick

:09:32. > :09:36.surface, maybe some bobbling with the snow. But it could be

:09:37. > :09:45.energy-sapping, there could be some tired legs at the end of this one.

:09:46. > :09:51.That was a foul by Forren on Naismith. Talk about the good job

:09:52. > :09:58.Anya has done, but Martin has done well at the back with Grant Hanley.

:09:59. > :10:03.He isn't playing. But Steven Naismith has been a revelation - as

:10:04. > :10:13.Anya goes for goal! He had the right to do so as well. Almost

:10:14. > :10:18.capitalising on a Norwegian error. There was no real pressure and

:10:19. > :10:23.Naismith closed him down. It was a shocking clearance. Anya, all he

:10:24. > :10:29.needed was the right connection and direction and the ball is in the

:10:30. > :10:32.net. But he took it out wide. It ended up going for a throw in

:10:33. > :10:50.actually. That cross took an awkward touch and

:10:51. > :11:23.Greer did well just to get rid of it.

:11:24. > :11:30.Marshall quickly off his line and he had to be because Marcus Pedersen

:11:31. > :11:39.was slipped through there. I thought he had the better of Martin. A good

:11:40. > :11:46.ball through. To Skjelbred. Pedersen is getting there before Martin and

:11:47. > :11:50.Marshall has to react quickly. The wide men come into the pitch and it

:11:51. > :11:57.lets the full backs get up the pitch and it is causing us a problem so

:11:58. > :12:04.far. Skjelbred has drifted into the central area. He is main lay

:12:05. > :12:13.right-hand sided midfielder, the Hertha Berlin man. That was lax from

:12:14. > :12:17.Brown, but Kamara was left frustrated as the back door was shut

:12:18. > :12:52.by Martin. Cut out at source. That was the

:12:53. > :12:56.right back, all the way up at the corner flag.

:12:57. > :13:05.A good take. Marshall breathes a sigh of relief. Pedersen with

:13:06. > :13:11.another chance and the keeper managed to get something on it. It

:13:12. > :13:14.wasn't convincing. Norway have started brighter there is no doubt

:13:15. > :13:31.about it. Marshall has collided with Pedersen

:13:32. > :13:40.there. There was a couple of awkward balls in for Marshall to deal with

:13:41. > :13:48.in these early stages. They get it in. The header comes out from Greer

:13:49. > :13:54.and they don't defend it properly. Kamara gets the header on target.

:13:55. > :14:05.Not great defending and we're allowing too many crosses to come

:14:06. > :14:12.into the box. Pedersen earning his 76th cap. Kamara should be in good

:14:13. > :14:43.spirit, his team have just won the Norwegian league title.

:14:44. > :14:51.Martin finds Naismith, tried to lock it in to the path of Bryson, who we

:14:52. > :14:53.have not seen on the ball yet. A big night for him. He has been in

:14:54. > :15:03.terrific form. There are options to the right of

:15:04. > :15:37.Naismith. Bryson took the middle. Marshall grabs and for the second

:15:38. > :15:50.time. -- grabs on. Great strike through the legs. Do you think we

:15:51. > :15:59.have kept the ball that well so far? We have not defended so well.

:16:00. > :16:10.The Swedish referee is having none of it.

:16:11. > :16:23.Kamara is on the ball. Pedersen, wonderful cross. The first ball in

:16:24. > :16:37.the channel for Kamara. Get a touch on, it ends up in a net.

:16:38. > :16:55.Lucky for us, Pedersen misses it completely.

:16:56. > :17:16.They have settled well, the Norwegians.

:17:17. > :17:28.I do not think we have got grips in that midfield. Whittaker is up high

:17:29. > :17:44.rooftop -- is up high. We give it away again.

:17:45. > :18:09.Norway are under new management. The new manager came in in September.

:18:10. > :18:10.The results did not get that much better. This is a long-term budget

:18:11. > :18:45.for him. -- project. Perhaps not the right option in the

:18:46. > :18:52.and. Bryson just gets rid of it. Not going forward defensively. Hogli is

:18:53. > :19:00.in behind him. He is off and running. The coach looks quite happy

:19:01. > :19:09.with the way things are going already.

:19:10. > :19:22.The former Blackburn man. That is Jenssen.

:19:23. > :19:33.He looks more comfortable. His first clean sheet, for this country, David

:19:34. > :20:23.Marshall. Tom Hogli again. He is in behind

:20:24. > :20:27.Snodgrass here. Cannot quite pull it back as he would like, but it is

:20:28. > :20:36.still alive for the inner regions. Marshall takes command of the

:20:37. > :20:41.situation. -- the Norwegians. Hogli and Pedersen are causing all kinds

:20:42. > :20:53.of problems out there. I think they were both struggling out there a

:20:54. > :20:58.little bit. Not quite getting to grips when they have to change, and

:20:59. > :21:06.who takes Houma. The Norwegians just get forward and are crossing it

:21:07. > :21:17.well. Just coming up to the 17th minute. Going to plan so far. Here

:21:18. > :21:44.comes Hogli from left back again. Alan Hutton, the most capped player

:21:45. > :21:53.in the Scotland team tonight. This is cap number 58 for him.

:21:54. > :22:05.Elabdellaoui, formerly of Manchester City. Elabdellaoui again. Naismith

:22:06. > :22:20.has struggled to see the ball in the opening 18 minutes or so.

:22:21. > :22:26.We were speaking to the Scottish national coach and his management

:22:27. > :22:29.team before kick-off, and it did appear that when they have the ball,

:22:30. > :22:35.they can turn the formation quite quickly, with Snodgrass on the right

:22:36. > :22:44.and Anya on the left, and Bryson supporting Naismith through the

:22:45. > :22:47.middle. The flag goes up and Anya. I did not see him on Friday night. He

:22:48. > :22:57.was suffering a little injury and was resting. He was not offside,

:22:58. > :23:36.Anya was a bit unlucky. Tom Hogli. It has been a good ten months for

:23:37. > :23:40.Gordon Strachan. Started slowly. There were the games against Wales

:23:41. > :23:42.and Serbia in March, and two defeats that ruled Scotland out of the World

:23:43. > :24:02.Cup next summer. They lost at Wembley to a very fine

:24:03. > :24:05.Belgian team in September. It has been mainly positives throughout his

:24:06. > :24:48.short tenure so far. Wonderful. As he got the ball to

:24:49. > :25:00.match? He does not. -- has he got the ball. He just darted in between

:25:01. > :25:08.the two Scotland players. Anya has been switching off and behind them.

:25:09. > :25:17.We have to start matching up in those areas. This was the ball. That

:25:18. > :25:34.was the running mate as well. A lovely pass, wasn't it? -- that was

:25:35. > :25:35.the run made. Elabdellaoui plays in Germany. He did play for Manchester

:25:36. > :26:07.City. Naismith was left by Snodgrass. They

:26:08. > :26:14.are asking a lot of Steven Whittaker. A quarter of the game,

:26:15. > :26:18.and gone, and Scotland cannot really string three or four passes

:26:19. > :26:22.together. They looked as though they could eat getting to a period where

:26:23. > :26:27.they managed to do that, get a bit more comfortable possession, but it

:26:28. > :26:34.has not happened yet. We have to certainly keep the ball, because we

:26:35. > :26:37.are playing this formation. They have been threatening so far in the

:26:38. > :26:45.match, but that is what we have to do. When we get it, we have to get

:26:46. > :26:50.people to keep the ball. We have not done that yet, because as soon as we

:26:51. > :26:58.have got it, we have given the ball straight back. Scott Brown says his

:26:59. > :27:11.strap is to type. Scott Fox is the substitution

:27:12. > :27:21.goalkeeper. James McArthur, Christophe Berra. Conway had that

:27:22. > :27:31.great start against the US. Steve Armstrong -- Stuart Armstrong is

:27:32. > :27:36.another latecomer to this match. Fired long I Vegard Forren. -- long

:27:37. > :27:47.by. Skjelbred. He is asking the question, what else

:27:48. > :28:54.could I have done with it? That was snuffed out by Eikrem.

:28:55. > :29:00.Snodgrass finds Whittaker. The two Norwich man. Russell Martin, there

:29:01. > :29:29.he is. Naismith appears to have fouled

:29:30. > :29:31.Jenssen there. Scotland have not really played yet, but we have

:29:32. > :29:37.already seen more zip and paste about the game than we saw at

:29:38. > :29:42.Hampden Park on Friday. It is because we have had to be solid for

:29:43. > :29:48.top it has all been defensive so far. Pressure has put us on the back

:29:49. > :30:02.foot. I think we have had to be a bit brighter, a little bit more fast

:30:03. > :30:06.paced. The tempo has to go up. Morten Gamst Pedersen Hogly fouled

:30:07. > :30:24.by Bryson. Eikrem is over this free kick for

:30:25. > :30:33.Norway. Scotland have got everyone back to defend.

:30:34. > :30:46.Forren challenging with Brown. Prevents the corner. Norway happy

:30:47. > :30:58.with the throw. Forren has gone down in the challenge with Brown. Well we

:30:59. > :31:03.have seen that flick out before haven't we? Champions League duty.

:31:04. > :31:08.Not saying he should have been sent off, but pet last night -- petulant

:31:09. > :31:19.you have to say. He takes a chance every time he does it. It has cost

:31:20. > :31:54.him his place in the Celtic team against AC Milan a week tonight.

:31:55. > :32:03.Snodgrass losing that dual with Eikrem again. It is a corner this

:32:04. > :32:09.time. They're really at it, the Norwegians, putting us under

:32:10. > :32:16.pressure. Snodgrass has been caught a couple of times. I think it was

:32:17. > :32:32.Pedersen that read the situation, was it it?

:32:33. > :32:57.A good header down by Reginiussen. That was just tossed in by ehas been

:32:58. > :33:01.Del lieuy. -- a couple of hundred Scotland fans have made the trip

:33:02. > :33:11.over. They haven't been spending as much

:33:12. > :33:29.time outdoors as they normally do on their travels!

:33:30. > :33:38.Anya wins the header and Naismith commits the foul. That was

:33:39. > :33:43.frustration as well from the Everton man. Anya does well when that ball's

:33:44. > :33:53.on the right hand side. You always want your opposite wide man in the

:33:54. > :33:59.box. The ball in again and again there was a freeby for Pedersen. He

:34:00. > :34:04.is a striker and he gets himself between Martin and Greer. Again it

:34:05. > :34:11.is a good ball in. He shouldn't be in between the two centre halves. A

:34:12. > :34:13.better header will punish us. They have been bright haven't they?

:34:14. > :34:21.Norway. You see what they're doing, I know

:34:22. > :34:27.it's only a friendly, you wonder how they did struggle in their group.

:34:28. > :34:31.Yes they were only a point better off than Scotland were in their

:34:32. > :34:44.group. They were behind Slovenia, who finished third.

:34:45. > :34:52.Morten Gamst Pedersen was prowling. That is hogly back in. They keep

:34:53. > :35:27.knocking on the door. He has been a real find hasn't he,

:35:28. > :35:32.Anya? Yes, excellent so far. You see so far to have the confidence to

:35:33. > :35:35.take that touch in the box. We have seen Snodgrass take a couple and he

:35:36. > :35:39.has lost possession. But going forward the matches he has played

:35:40. > :35:48.for Scotland have been excellent so far. That goal he scored was the

:35:49. > :36:06.standout. They will be concerned that they

:36:07. > :36:12.haven't tested the novice goalkeeper, Nyland. He has been a

:36:13. > :36:18.spectator really. Both here and Forren the left centre half play

:36:19. > :36:43.their club foot pal in Molde, who are managed by the Manchester United

:36:44. > :36:49.legend d. That is Solskjaer. I think we have matched up, we will see if

:36:50. > :36:54.Snodgrass does go to the right, but Bryson looks as if he is playing

:36:55. > :36:58.there now. We have flatten odd out -- flattened out the midfield. It

:36:59. > :37:06.looked as if we had switched it there for a moment. Norway are

:37:07. > :37:09.almost a front four when they're attacking and they have got the full

:37:10. > :37:43.backs in support of that. We never had the experience on the

:37:44. > :37:49.pitch to just gauge when full backs are coming, when our full back takes

:37:50. > :37:54.their wide midfielder and when our midfielder takes the wide

:37:55. > :38:00.midfielder. We weren't communicating quickly enough and their system

:38:01. > :38:09.certainly had the better of us. So sit simplifies it for us, man for

:38:10. > :38:46.man about the pitch. Anya was fouled by the deferned. -- defender.

:38:47. > :38:53.Naismith is asking the referee why there wasn't a free kick a moment

:38:54. > :38:58.ago when he was challenged in the air. The referee is still having a

:38:59. > :39:13.go at Naismith. That one is a foul. That was Forren.

:39:14. > :39:20.Just wondering if back in the studio they might have a look at that

:39:21. > :39:23.change and why we did it. An opportunity for the Scots in what

:39:24. > :39:38.has been a testing night in Scandinavia so far for them.

:39:39. > :39:47.Straight through to Nyland. He finally sees the ball!

:39:48. > :40:05.We know Charlie Adam has got better delivery than he produced there.

:40:06. > :40:23.A definite free kick. He was caught late. Pedersen on Brown.

:40:24. > :40:35.That was a bad touch by Brown, but he managed to bail himself out.

:40:36. > :40:48.Marcus Pedersen can't believe the decision has gone against him there.

:40:49. > :40:50.It is a fair old lunge. That is a couple from the Norway striker in

:40:51. > :41:16.the last couple of minutes. Whittaker can't get it past Eikrem.

:41:17. > :41:20.Just breaking down in the final third time and again for Scotland

:41:21. > :41:50.tonight. The couple of touches from

:41:51. > :41:57.Elabdellaoui that we have seen suggest that he can make a mark at

:41:58. > :42:03.Manchester City. It is his third loan spell now in Germany. Forren

:42:04. > :42:08.was taken down on the edge of the D there. Pedersen scoops is it over

:42:09. > :42:14.with the help of a deflection which has led to a Norway corner. That was

:42:15. > :42:22.a decent block in the end, but it was too easy again. Fed into him,

:42:23. > :42:27.takes a touch, holds the player off and gets a quick strike. He has not

:42:28. > :43:27.got himself a goal yet, but he looks sharp.

:43:28. > :43:37.Brown's challenge and the referee is not interested in Norwegian appeals

:43:38. > :43:40.that time. A foul by Forren on Naismith. It keeps the pressure off

:43:41. > :43:51.again. Is this the kind of game Gordon

:43:52. > :43:56.Strachan would have expected tonight? I think so. Just the way

:43:57. > :44:02.the Norwegians have gone about it, quite an attacking formation, going

:44:03. > :44:07.to put us on that back foot as I was saying. Quick tempo to the game as

:44:08. > :44:12.well. It has been mostly defensive from us so far, but we have had to

:44:13. > :44:15.defend and we have defended OK. The bonus so far is that we haven't lost

:44:16. > :44:35.a goal. Scoring has not been too much of an

:44:36. > :44:41.issue for them. There have not been many teams that have been able to

:44:42. > :44:57.shut out Scotland in the USA. Only the USA and Serbia amongst others.

:44:58. > :45:03.Just five blanks and 25 matches. -- in 25 matches.

:45:04. > :45:09.An exchange between Hutton and Pedersen. I am sure it was all

:45:10. > :45:26.pleasant. Still at it. I just wonder if there

:45:27. > :45:32.has been anything previous between those two before. Hutton is very

:45:33. > :45:38.much out of club level. He has not played for Aston Villa since May of

:45:39. > :45:44.2012. He played for his old team spurs on that occasion. He had a

:45:45. > :45:50.long spell in Spain on his last campaign. He is out of the picture

:45:51. > :45:59.at Villa Park. His only appearances this season have come in the

:46:00. > :46:13.Scotland shirt. He is a player that Gordon Strachan likes.

:46:14. > :46:22.I think changing the formation is stopping our way from doing what

:46:23. > :46:31.they were doing for the last ten minutes. It was comfortable for

:46:32. > :46:47.Scotland, but it wasn't the case at the start of the match.

:46:48. > :46:59.Beaten to it there by Marcus Pederson, and cleared by Martin.

:47:00. > :47:09.Skjelbred to Elabdellaoui. They take on Anya here. Left for scale bread.

:47:10. > :47:15.Get some space to get the cross him. -- scale bread.

:47:16. > :47:23.He is not getting the corner. It was not enough to trouble David Marshall

:47:24. > :47:35.in the end. You can see the wall spinning. I thought that was nicked

:47:36. > :47:40.off. It cuts across it. Does not miss that post by much, does it?

:47:41. > :47:47.Whether Whittaker touched it or not, it was enough to put off the

:47:48. > :47:54.Norwegian. He thought his team were in front there just before the

:47:55. > :48:20.interval. We're giving it away again. -- Greer.

:48:21. > :48:28.Poor attach, the story of the half for the visitors. A good performance

:48:29. > :48:40.tonight for Charlie Mulgrew. He has performed terrifically well

:48:41. > :48:44.alongside Scott Brown. Almost to the extent that it was the first part of

:48:45. > :48:58.the team that Gordon Strachan filled out. Brown and Mulgrew, Mulgrew back

:48:59. > :49:05.at his club. Mulgrew and Brown, Champions League level. You just

:49:06. > :49:13.think they could play anywhere. They look so comfortable. No stoppage

:49:14. > :49:20.time at the end of a trying first half. For Scotland and Norway

:49:21. > :49:25.tonight, Kamara, one of the players who have had a glimpse of a goal in

:49:26. > :49:30.the opening 45. Scotland have managed to stand firm despite an

:49:31. > :49:42.onslaught here in Scandinavia. At half-time, it is 0-0.

:49:43. > :49:53.Scotland's last match of 2013 has not been graded viewing so far, has

:49:54. > :49:57.it? -- great viewing. My guests are here with me in the studio. We are

:49:58. > :50:01.often pretty sharpish in terms of the television show, so we will be

:50:02. > :50:08.going into extra time ourselves to add to the reaction that we can show

:50:09. > :50:11.you. It will be available on the website at the address you see on

:50:12. > :50:14.the screen at the moment for as long as it takes to bring you all of the

:50:15. > :50:21.analysis and reaction to tonight's game. Pat, we are used to seeing

:50:22. > :50:28.better from Scotland of late. Are they toying with a new system? Our

:50:29. > :50:32.players underperforming? It is difficult to know what is wrong.

:50:33. > :50:37.Many things seem to be wrong. We have enjoyed watching Scotland, but

:50:38. > :50:43.the last four or five games, it has been a job to -- a joy to watch, but

:50:44. > :50:53.everything is upside down at the moment. There are quite a few

:50:54. > :50:57.players who are having off days. We could make the excuse that the pitch

:50:58. > :50:59.is not that easy to play on, but it does not seem to affect the

:51:00. > :51:06.Norwegians that badly. At the moment, not a very good 45 minutes

:51:07. > :51:12.for Scotland. Should we be bothering about this anyway? Does this affect

:51:13. > :51:16.the performance tonight, where Scotland are going long-term? It

:51:17. > :51:21.would be good to keep the momentum going. We have done well in the last

:51:22. > :51:26.few games and it would be a shame to get a poor result tonight. The

:51:27. > :51:32.energy was not quite there. They seem to be in our faces, taking the

:51:33. > :51:37.ball off us and coming forward at will. Scotland were dominating for

:51:38. > :51:42.the first two minutes! The first two minutes were all right for top I do

:51:43. > :51:47.not think we have been in the box since then. All right. At least it

:51:48. > :51:58.is 0-0 for the unsure we can change things after half-time and have a

:51:59. > :52:05.better showing in the second half. The keeper made a mistake here. He

:52:06. > :52:12.had had a chance post up there was a long touch on it. You have to have a

:52:13. > :52:17.go. He has a smash at it. Maybe this is just the one point where we can

:52:18. > :52:22.show what is best about Scotland. Anya has worked incredibly hard and

:52:23. > :52:29.has tried to get the ball rights when it hasn't been right. He has

:52:30. > :52:33.also worked really hard defensively. That has kind of stopped them coming

:52:34. > :52:37.down that area a little bit. But apart from that, there is not a lot

:52:38. > :52:48.else that I would call plus points of stopped -- points. Maybe they

:52:49. > :52:52.have lulled us into a false sense of security. It has been slack

:52:53. > :52:59.Scotland. It has not been great. Some of the first touches have not

:53:00. > :53:07.been great. We have played ourselves into a lot of trouble. I do not

:53:08. > :53:12.know, I cannot put my finger on why it has gone so wrong. It is such a

:53:13. > :53:17.simple part of the game. We have not seen passing going right. There has

:53:18. > :53:21.been a lot of pressure. Giving it away easily when you have

:53:22. > :53:27.possession, you have to make sure you do it right. A little bit slack.

:53:28. > :53:33.It has to be more than that. You have to be aware of everything that

:53:34. > :53:38.is around you and know that your team is up for it. The Norwegians

:53:39. > :53:45.are definitely up for it. Even Snodgrass, who has been so good, he

:53:46. > :53:49.has been caught with the ball a few times, and that could have ended up

:53:50. > :53:54.back in the net. This is almost typical. Just straight out of the

:53:55. > :54:01.park. We are generally not like that. We had a long chat during the

:54:02. > :54:07.game, we are not necessarily playing the normal formation, but a

:54:08. > :54:13.different one, and there is almost no-one to pass it to. It is you can

:54:14. > :54:18.cut out a little bit because we are not really on top of it. It is a

:54:19. > :54:23.different system, but it does ossify players different from the team that

:54:24. > :54:32.started on night against the USA. -- but it is also five different

:54:33. > :54:36.players. Everybody knows what is going on. International football is

:54:37. > :54:40.like that, you get a lot of changes from one game to the next, and you

:54:41. > :54:44.go months without seeing each other. They have to be able to go in and

:54:45. > :54:51.adapt to a system that they know. Maybe that has not worked tonight as

:54:52. > :54:54.quickly in the first half, so it was changed at the end. We might see a

:54:55. > :55:01.different formation in this half again. Can we go to if needed in a

:55:02. > :55:13.qualifying campaign maybe not after that. Does the system matter that

:55:14. > :55:21.much? Some of the teams, I think it comes back to... If you set the

:55:22. > :55:28.midfield players and they are giving the ball away too easily, they just

:55:29. > :55:38.come through with ease. Well done, Marshall, coming up here. That was

:55:39. > :55:41.really well read by the goalkeeper. In the rights back area, they have

:55:42. > :55:50.got far too many crosses and opportunities from there. He was

:55:51. > :55:57.trying to play for two touches. You see, he was not trying to play for

:55:58. > :56:01.that. Coming up on the left ear, their best chances for me, I do not

:56:02. > :56:05.know if the -- if you would actually call this a chance, but it was one

:56:06. > :56:11.hell of a cross. If he gets a foot on that, but it is so often that you

:56:12. > :56:15.get the sort of half chances and never get a foot on it and you come

:56:16. > :56:21.down the left with such ease. That was absolutely incredible. It is

:56:22. > :56:26.Anya who is at left back there. This is probably arguably the best

:56:27. > :56:35.chance. There was a little bit of luck there at the end. It just takes

:56:36. > :56:42.it wide. There was no chance. It just makes by the past -- far

:56:43. > :56:48.poster. Marshall is looking pretty scarlet -- solid four Scotland. What

:56:49. > :56:54.is the difference between McGregor and Marshall at the moment? Not a

:56:55. > :57:00.lot at the moment. Allen is injured at the moment. David has come in

:57:01. > :57:04.with his first clean sheet against the USA and is looking to build on

:57:05. > :57:10.that now. He had a really solid start. There is not a lot for us to

:57:11. > :57:15.induce about tonight, but the score line has been on their way, and

:57:16. > :57:22.thankfully, no damage done. That is basically only a positive. It is

:57:23. > :57:27.quite a good thing and the fact that we can do last-ditch defending, but

:57:28. > :57:30.this is not meant to be a back to the wall performance. This is not a

:57:31. > :57:35.team set out to play that way. This is a team that wants to get forward

:57:36. > :57:38.and we just have not been able to do it so far. We have seen the

:57:39. > :57:46.opportunity to get there. I am sure Orden Strachan is scratching his

:57:47. > :57:53.head. -- court in Strachan -- Gordon Strachan. He will try another one

:57:54. > :58:00.for 15 minutes and then there will be another one or two changes as

:58:01. > :58:04.well. The big about it, we ended up doing so much the opposite of what

:58:05. > :58:10.Gordon Strachan genuinely wants his team to do. You want to go and find

:58:11. > :58:19.players. These are just two or three. And that tells me there is a

:58:20. > :58:27.little bit of a lack of belief. The lads have not been doing that

:58:28. > :58:31.recently. We have almost been spoiled by not having it that way

:58:32. > :58:37.for a wild. Under boarding, we have done a lot better come and it just

:58:38. > :58:44.feels a bit poor for us. -- under Gordon Strachan. I just did not feel

:58:45. > :58:48.that that is he -- how he would want his team to play. Not playing for

:58:49. > :58:54.Scotland tonight is probably a good idea. Maybe it enhances your

:58:55. > :58:59.thoughts of value of C Mulgrew and the central area with Scott Brown.

:59:00. > :59:05.-- Charlie Mulgrew. They keep possession so well. Your view of

:59:06. > :59:11.Charlie Mulgrew is a must put up by what is not happening here. Playing

:59:12. > :59:15.together at club level, they know each other's game and they have an

:59:16. > :59:18.understanding between them. It helps when they come into the

:59:19. > :59:24.international football to know what each other will do. They are not in

:59:25. > :59:29.that area where defensive qualities and working together is so

:59:30. > :59:33.important. Because they have that relationship at club level, it can't

:59:34. > :59:37.carry through to the national team, and they are probably -- it can

:59:38. > :59:45.carry through to the national team. Scott Brown, such a valuable member

:59:46. > :59:50.of the Scotland team, but we can do without the petulance, can't we,

:59:51. > :00:00.which got him into trouble during Celtic against Barcelona. Revery

:00:01. > :00:06.Celtic fan must look at this and thishgs Scott, have you not learned

:00:07. > :00:12.your lesson. It is not violent bs but it got him a three-match ban

:00:13. > :00:18.unnecessarily. It is unthinkable you can keep doing that. Scott Brown we

:00:19. > :00:23.will rave about, because he is a superb player, he is not missing

:00:24. > :00:30.games, he has got himself fit. Everything says alongside Mulgrew

:00:31. > :00:36.for Celtic are fantastic. But don't do that. It's so naive. That is why

:00:37. > :00:40.we need to flag it up. You can't ignore it. Eventually let's hope it

:00:41. > :00:44.drills home that it is unacceptable at any point. Some people are

:00:45. > :00:49.thinking we are putting a magnifying class over that, but there was a

:00:50. > :00:53.time in football where you could get away with that, because the coverage

:00:54. > :00:58.wasn't so good. But that sort of thing will be picked up. He is

:00:59. > :01:03.already paying the price at club level for exactly that. It is silly.

:01:04. > :01:13.He hasn't done it for such a long time. He has not had many red cards.

:01:14. > :01:20.He is a wee bit frustrated today. Yes and he has lashed out a bit. It

:01:21. > :01:25.is not the worst kick. The guy doesn't need to be rolling about for

:01:26. > :01:30.five minutes. But he runs the risk. Most of the Norwegian threat has

:01:31. > :01:35.come down the left. Yes it seems like a hatchet job, but we are not

:01:36. > :01:39.getting close enough in the full back area. Alan Hutton's not getting

:01:40. > :01:43.a lot of games and he has been playing well for Scotland. In fact

:01:44. > :01:48.he has been playing unbelievably well considering he doesn't get any

:01:49. > :01:52.games for Villa. Part of the problem was the ease in which they were

:01:53. > :01:59.getting crosses. The ball out here, you have got to get closer. We know

:02:00. > :02:04.they're a danger and are getting chances from that side. So you can't

:02:05. > :02:10.stand off and particularly with Morten Gamst Pedersen. He is a

:02:11. > :02:16.fantastic crosser of the ball. In the end we have got away with it

:02:17. > :02:21.until now. We will not get away with it for another 45 minutes. What will

:02:22. > :02:26.the manager's reaction be at half time? I don't think he will be

:02:27. > :02:29.happy. We have seen him on the touchline, he wasn't happy,

:02:30. > :02:33.especially with keeping the ball. They have done it well, they have

:02:34. > :02:39.threaded balls through the middle and I think we have to be braver on

:02:40. > :02:44.the ball to take possession in difficult areas and keep on it. Then

:02:45. > :02:47.we can start to attack. We haven't kept the ball long enough. That will

:02:48. > :02:58.be something he will look to change. That is the his man trashgs that is

:02:59. > :03:03.-- mantra, that is every successful manager's mantra. If he doesn't

:03:04. > :03:15.change the personnel, I hope for Charlie Adam's sake he puts it back

:03:16. > :03:19.to 4-3-2-1 and puts Charlie beside Scott Brown. He was was giving the

:03:20. > :03:25.ball away. It is easier if you're a deeper lying midfielder and are

:03:26. > :03:30.beside Scott Brown and the game is in front of you. Scotland look more

:03:31. > :03:34.comfortable playing that system. Everyone knows their job. I hope it

:03:35. > :03:38.changes back to that and gives Charlie a chance. Because there is a

:03:39. > :03:42.lot of pressure on him. He knows he is not the first choice and he is

:03:43. > :03:47.probably just desperate to do well. I asked Craig this, how much do you

:03:48. > :03:52.read into what is happening or not happening for Scotland, having taken

:03:53. > :03:58.so many steps forward, could this be a significant step back if the match

:03:59. > :04:02.continues like this? It is not a good situation. There have been

:04:03. > :04:06.important games where we have, in competitive games we have done

:04:07. > :04:10.better. I wouldn't panic about it too much. There are a few changes to

:04:11. > :04:19.the team. This is not your first choice team and the ball wasn't

:04:20. > :04:25.being held up. Well as I say, one of the changes will be made. Barry

:04:26. > :04:33.Bannan enters the fray as we return to our commentary team. We saw him

:04:34. > :04:42.go up the tunnel during the half time warm up, Bannan has replaced

:04:43. > :04:47.Bryson. Goalless and the Norwegians will get us under way for the second

:04:48. > :04:53.45. Can Scotland turn the tables, because we were up against it for a

:04:54. > :05:00.lot of first half. Bannan, having started the last couple of

:05:01. > :05:05.international matches. He has been one of Gordon Strachan's first

:05:06. > :05:11.choice picks. On his for his 16th cap in Norway. What have the Scots

:05:12. > :05:14.got in the locker this second half. The 18th meeting between the

:05:15. > :05:39.nations. Scotland have won seven. Snodgrass goes down and it will be a

:05:40. > :05:45.Scottish free kick. Billy Dodds, Barry Bannan on. Yes, yus a natural

:05:46. > :05:54.wide man. -- just a natural wide man. It is unlucky for Bryson. But

:05:55. > :06:17.he is not a natural wide man. The Norwegians have made a change.

:06:18. > :06:26.Hogly is one of the survivors from the 4-1 win over the Scots. Morten

:06:27. > :06:59.Gamst Pedersen is the other. There was just a little header. It

:07:00. > :07:09.is a fierce strike isn't it? Straight at Marshall though. Well

:07:10. > :07:16.held. A clean hit. The substitutes that have on the bench, Bannan

:07:17. > :07:20.wasn't listed on the team sheet. It wasn't until we saw him warming up

:07:21. > :07:35.that we realised he was part of the party tonight.

:07:36. > :07:43.Norway haven't won in their last five, since beating Cyprus in

:07:44. > :07:52.September. A change of fortune in the Aker Stadium in Molde. 11,800

:07:53. > :07:57.capacity here. They are putting an artificial pitch in after this game.

:07:58. > :08:03.The Norwegian league season is over. It has been a heavy pitch tonight.

:08:04. > :08:14.Bannan is back to prevent the corner. Yes he did. Hogli wants the

:08:15. > :08:19.corner. I don't know if he did. The linesman culledn't -- couldn't keep

:08:20. > :08:39.up with him on that far side. A throw in.

:08:40. > :08:50.He must have been delighted to bring Morten Gamst Pedersen back into the

:08:51. > :08:53.squad. He retired from international football 12 months ago. He is back

:08:54. > :09:07.in to cover injuries really. There he is fighting with Bannan. He

:09:08. > :09:11.has -- it has gone against the Scotland player. Here is another

:09:12. > :09:17.change. Craig Conway ready to come on and he will want to banish

:09:18. > :09:22.memories of that miss against the United States on Friday night. He

:09:23. > :09:29.must have been thinking about his goal for Dundee United in the

:09:30. > :09:36.victory over Ross County as he bore down on goal. I think there will be

:09:37. > :09:57.a lot of substitutions in the second half.

:09:58. > :10:07.Pedersen there. Just can't quite get it to bend enough. You see our two

:10:08. > :10:15.central midfielders out of the the play, Brown and Adam. When they pick

:10:16. > :10:20.it up, he just wants to find that far post area. Just can't quite get

:10:21. > :10:23.there. That is the Anya, he is struggling. Craig Conway is the

:10:24. > :10:29.natural replacement. He can just go out on the left hand side. It looks

:10:30. > :10:32.as though Anya's evening is over. Right at the start of the second

:10:33. > :10:45.half. Anya's international year ends earl

:10:46. > :10:48.year than he would have -- earlier than he would have liked. He has

:10:49. > :10:54.been a real find for Gordon Strachan. Craig Conway, a good

:10:55. > :10:59.player on his day as well. But a word on Anya and the impact he has

:11:00. > :11:05.made? Yes, we said that in the first half, he has been a real find. But

:11:06. > :11:09.it is worrying for him that he has picked up a few knock and not found

:11:10. > :11:17.himself in the Watford team because of that, and another injury tonight.

:11:18. > :11:22.It is kind of stop/start for him not just at international level. But

:11:23. > :11:28.certainly a real pros effect -- prospect. A seventh cap for Craig

:11:29. > :11:34.Conway. He is at Brighton just now. He wasn't named in Cardiff city's

:11:35. > :11:42.squad for the English Premier League season as the cross comes in.

:11:43. > :11:46.Abdellaoue with a chance there. But it is Morten Gamst Pedersen again,

:11:47. > :11:51.some of his deliveries, look at the deep areas he is putting it in from.

:11:52. > :11:58.He doesn't even think about it, he just delivers it. Just a little

:11:59. > :12:04.flick header. He got too much on it. Morten Gamst Pedersen is one of the

:12:05. > :12:09.Norwegian players who is fit to put his name like the likes of

:12:10. > :12:30.Solskjaer. A classy player. The hand ball has been given against

:12:31. > :12:35.Bannan. The ball was flighted right across him. It was close to him.

:12:36. > :12:42.That is unlucky. What can you do about that? I know the hand's up,

:12:43. > :12:57.but he is trying to pull it away. A poor decision.

:12:58. > :13:09.Marshall is organising things. Skjelbred is over this as well.

:13:10. > :13:16.Eikrem takes. They're wanting another hand ball off Bannan, this

:13:17. > :13:24.time inside the penalty area. Still nursing an injury from the first.

:13:25. > :13:28.This one he turns hiss back. He has only been on the pitch for eight

:13:29. > :13:43.minutes and he is in the wars, involved.

:13:44. > :13:59.David Marshall made his Scotland debut just over ten years ago, a

:14:00. > :14:04.defeat to Hungary at Hampden. Alan McGregor the first choice, but he is

:14:05. > :14:06.back at his club Hull City. He picked up an injury just before

:14:07. > :14:56.Gordon Strachan named the squad. A similar pattern to that of the

:14:57. > :15:07.first half. Scotland are struggling to make an impression with the

:15:08. > :15:14.Norwegian defence. I do not think they have given us as big of a

:15:15. > :15:24.problem as they did in the first half. You would expect that to

:15:25. > :15:34.happen due to the quality of Gamst Pedersen. Gamst Pedersen tried to

:15:35. > :15:45.slip it through on the right-hand side of the box. He has scored a

:15:46. > :15:52.couple against Barnsley in the campaign. How do we do better going

:15:53. > :16:00.forward? Not too much to shout about in the match offensively. They have

:16:01. > :16:13.got to grips defensively. That has sort of notified them. Almost.

:16:14. > :16:21.Charlie Adam has gone into the book in the interim as well. I think

:16:22. > :16:26.Gordon Strachan would certainly like his team to be a bigger threat in

:16:27. > :16:43.the match. It has not happened as yet.

:16:44. > :16:51.Vegard Forren certainly got on the scene just in the nick of time. That

:16:52. > :17:02.has resulted in the first booking of the night. It does come back. David

:17:03. > :17:06.Marshall, making the save. Marcus Pederson must've thought he scored,

:17:07. > :17:17.and he probably should have. A let off for the Scots. You can call that

:17:18. > :17:22.lucky from Pedersen. As he hits a decent strike, it is too central.

:17:23. > :17:29.Marshall does well. He does some damage and blocks the shot. Strong

:17:30. > :17:38.play by Naismith. That was good. The ball comes in toward Snodgrass.

:17:39. > :17:45.Another important intervention for Vegard Forren. What an opportunity

:17:46. > :17:56.that was just a moment or two ago. Lucky dummy. Abdellaoue just plays

:17:57. > :18:04.it back in. Marshall does well, though. Unorthodox goalkeeping from

:18:05. > :18:22.David Marshall. That will do. Adam could not find Brown. Coming

:18:23. > :18:31.forward at pace. On the right-hand side. It is a Norway corner. He

:18:32. > :18:45.wants a free kick. I think the most important thing is he tracked a

:18:46. > :18:49.runner. He does well, Conway. The guys were highlighting the defensive

:18:50. > :19:00.job that Anya was doing in the first half. Gamst Patterson over in the --

:19:01. > :19:07.Gamst Pedersen over ending our region -- Norwegian corner. A

:19:08. > :19:13.cluster of players. It is headed over by Vegard Forren. He gets

:19:14. > :19:31.himself away from Russell Martin. Just has to keep it down. Marshall

:19:32. > :19:51.was blocked. Second change, who will replace Abdellaoue. Good use of the

:19:52. > :20:03.ball. The pace as well. Scotland's left-hand side will be happy to see

:20:04. > :20:06.the back of him. He is a right back but he can play right midfield. You

:20:07. > :20:22.will get up and down the park as well. A second Linnes. He was in the

:20:23. > :20:32.under 21 final in the summer, European championship finals.

:20:33. > :20:43.Snodgrass. Adam. Naismith. Good little touch for Brown. Scotland

:20:44. > :20:49.make the net! Scott Brown and a Scotland supporters do not care.

:20:50. > :20:58.Firing it into the net, the Scotland giver, the third for his country. --

:20:59. > :21:04.the Scotland skipper. Let's cut to the chase, we have not been good in

:21:05. > :21:09.this game, but you know what? Scott Brown just came out on the scene and

:21:10. > :21:17.just lashed at it. Flies past the goalkeeper. No chance for him. Pops

:21:18. > :21:25.back to Brown. He does the rest. Good strike but it is undeserved.

:21:26. > :21:28.But we will take it! Friendly or not, Scotland have done it tonight.

:21:29. > :21:40.They could have been won down just a moment or two ago. A great strike by

:21:41. > :21:51.Scott Brown. Coming bang on the hour mark for Gordon Strachan's side. It

:21:52. > :22:01.settled now. -- a bit settled now. Great strike from Brown. His 36th

:22:02. > :22:05.apt tonight. -- cap. Norway are looking to respond immediately.

:22:06. > :22:09.Write down the throat of David Marshall.

:22:10. > :22:20.We all know that they had been riding their luck so far this

:22:21. > :22:24.evening. James McArthur will be on in a moment or two of top the

:22:25. > :22:39.Norwegians are about to make another change as well. James McArthur, his

:22:40. > :22:42.15th cap for this country. Abdellaoue has run his team a

:22:43. > :22:51.corner. They will be scratching their heads, wondering, how are we

:22:52. > :23:02.behind the Norwegians? As I said, we will take it. Managed to get it for

:23:03. > :23:12.the corner. Rosenberg is about to come on for Norway Post op -- for

:23:13. > :23:25.Norway. A touch on that, just at the angle of the six yard box. And to

:23:26. > :23:35.Linnes. Poor ball. This changes will be made. Strandberg is on the for

:23:36. > :23:44.Norway. The Norwegian change will be made first. A centre half for a

:23:45. > :23:53.centre half. The Scotland changed is McArthur for Charlie Adam. Like for

:23:54. > :24:02.like. Id. Has given the ball away a lot tonight. -- Charlie Adam has

:24:03. > :24:15.given the ball away a lot tonight. His omentum carries him along. Scott

:24:16. > :24:23.Brown comes in. Names McArthur, on. -- James McArthur, and.

:24:24. > :24:29.International debut for Stefan Strandberg -- James McArthur, and.

:24:30. > :24:45.International debut for Stefan Strandberg.

:24:46. > :24:55.Orton generally placed -- martin generally plays at right back but he

:24:56. > :25:00.is doing a great job. There will be plenty more changes between now and

:25:01. > :25:06.the end. Eight chance perhaps for Kris Boyd -- a chance perhaps for

:25:07. > :25:17.Kris Boyd to come and. Stuart Armstrong, under 21 captain on the

:25:18. > :25:38.substitutes bench as well. First touch of the ball for banning. --

:25:39. > :25:49.Snodgrass goes down. That is a free kick challenge by

:25:50. > :25:52.Vegard Forren. What have you made at the defence? Since we have changed

:25:53. > :25:56.her formation, I think we have looked pretty comfortable

:25:57. > :26:02.defensively. -- changed our formation. Gradually we are going

:26:03. > :26:06.into the game. With our first real attack, we scored. That was a

:26:07. > :26:10.confidence boost. It has all gone our way at this point in the game.

:26:11. > :26:13.We look as comfortable as we have ever been in the game. It is a free

:26:14. > :26:30.kick for banning. Under pressure from Conway. Away I

:26:31. > :26:38.Vegard Forren, who gave away the free kick in the first place. --

:26:39. > :26:46.away by. Norway are trying to make another change here. Another who had

:26:47. > :27:01.a short journey to the Stadium. He is going to come on for Skjelbred.

:27:02. > :27:11.Did not really see too much of him. Skjelbred is off. Daehli is on. His

:27:12. > :27:16.second cap. He is one of the new players for the Norwegians. Starting

:27:17. > :27:32.-- starting from scratch, almost. Snodgrass in the base of Vegard

:27:33. > :27:43.Forren. -- the face. Marcus Pederson was the target.

:27:44. > :28:15.Doing the sensible thing. David Marshall, he made that

:28:16. > :28:21.important save from Marcus Pederson just a couple of minutes before

:28:22. > :28:27.Scott Brown but Butland in front. -- Scotland. Temperatures are

:28:28. > :28:39.plummeting in Norway, but the Scotland supporters are enjoying it.

:28:40. > :29:04.Greer is enjoying his time in the setup. He is 33 soon.

:29:05. > :29:17.He is sitting more comfortably now. Not for long-he never -- not for

:29:18. > :29:22.long - he never does, Gordon Strachan!

:29:23. > :29:28.Regardless of whether it is a friendly match, when you're playing

:29:29. > :29:32.a team of a similar standard to yourselves, you're going to have to

:29:33. > :29:36.have some kind of luck and soak up a lot of pressure, regardless of

:29:37. > :29:41.whether it is a meaningful match or not. Yes, and we certainly did that.

:29:42. > :29:48.And we have grown throughout the game and got to grips with their

:29:49. > :29:54.system. The centre halves like a bit more solid than at the start of the

:29:55. > :29:58.game. Then you get the confidence booster of getting that goal and you

:29:59. > :30:44.look not the better team, but so much more solid.

:30:45. > :30:56.A good shout from the keeper. Told Martin to leave it. That's been one

:30:57. > :31:01.of the most encouraging aspeshgts of -- spects of the good run Gordon

:31:02. > :31:06.Strachan has put together, is the defensive area, because they were

:31:07. > :31:12.conceding goals. Russell Martin plays right back normally, Grant is

:31:13. > :31:16.not with the squad. Gordon Greer has looked the part. It has sorted a

:31:17. > :31:23.problem that Gordon Strachan had. And there are other centre halves

:31:24. > :31:33.who are keen to get into the team, Mark Reynolds at Aberdeen.

:31:34. > :31:45.It has looked more assured at the back. Yes specially because we were

:31:46. > :31:48.crying out for one twor centre halves to break through. And they

:31:49. > :31:52.have looked comfortable in the last couple of games. Hopefully they can

:31:53. > :31:55.keep another cheap sheet tonight and then you have to look at your

:31:56. > :32:02.keeper, I think Marshall has done well. He has made a couple of

:32:03. > :32:10.important stops and commanded his box. We are looking pretty good

:32:11. > :32:18.defensively. But I don't want to tempt fate too much! He is in good

:32:19. > :32:24.form and playing in the top flight for Cardiff, Marshall. A couple of

:32:25. > :32:27.big results against the big teams and the victory against Swansea

:32:28. > :32:45.recently. It is turned wide. Morten Gamst

:32:46. > :32:54.Pedersen. Linnes showing he can get forward down that right hand side.

:32:55. > :32:59.Daehli just laying it inside. And just off balance, isn't he? Morten

:33:00. > :33:06.Gamst Pedersen just has to direct it on target. He sort of stumbles on to

:33:07. > :33:08.the ball and knocks it wide. He should have been able to take it

:33:09. > :33:33.with the right foot there. Daehli looks a threat on the right.

:33:34. > :33:37.He has caused the foot back, Whittaker, a couple of issues since

:33:38. > :34:28.coming on. The manager trying to work out how

:34:29. > :34:38.to get his team back into this. He took over the job from Olsen. He has

:34:39. > :34:57.been rubbing his eyes as to why his team are behind.

:34:58. > :35:07.A bit of defending for the Scots to do in the last 15 minutes of the

:35:08. > :35:17.match. Brown's goal came on 61. Taking no chances with Strandberg.

:35:18. > :35:37.The Scotland boss was asked to come back to the country and the SOS was

:35:38. > :35:42.issued to him from the stands as the Scots went down in Belgium. He has

:35:43. > :35:58.certainly done that in the last ten months.

:35:59. > :36:06.The one area of the box there was no one in red, thankfully from a

:36:07. > :36:10.Scottish point of view. Despite the changes, Norway beginning to get

:36:11. > :36:17.back into their passing routine and exert more pressure. We started

:36:18. > :36:22.seeing the full backs getting forward again. Linnes on the far

:36:23. > :36:24.side and Hogli on this side. A couple of crosses. But again

:36:25. > :36:46.Scotland defend it pretty well. Jenssen taken out by Snodgrass.

:36:47. > :36:54.Another set piece opportunity for the Norwegians.

:36:55. > :37:22.Snodgrass picking up his 15th cap tonight.

:37:23. > :37:30.Marshall makes the save from Marcus Pedersen. It is Scot brown who gets

:37:31. > :37:39.caught on the end of that zonal line. The cross field ball catches

:37:40. > :37:46.him going from the central area. Scot brown just -- Scott Brown just

:37:47. > :37:50.back pedalling. It is a decent save from Marshall. Good strong arms.

:37:51. > :37:59.Scotland with a couple of very good keepers on the go, David Marshall

:38:00. > :38:03.and Alan McGregor, not in the squad. Scott Fox of Partick Thistle is the

:38:04. > :38:21.substitute keeper tonight. Not a great ball from Whittaker. He

:38:22. > :38:24.was trying to find Conway. But try as he might, he can't get into the

:38:25. > :38:49.game, the left-winger. A poor ball from Forren. Another

:38:50. > :38:56.change in the offing for Norwegians, they are going to bring Konradsen on

:38:57. > :38:59.in a moment. He plays for Rennes in France. It will just be his third

:39:00. > :39:21.cap. The most expensive export from the

:39:22. > :39:32.new Norwegian champions. A midfielder for a midfielder. ?1.5

:39:33. > :39:34.million it took Rennes to prise him from his club in his homeland. He

:39:35. > :39:58.hasn't seen much action for Rennes. Another promising opportunity.

:39:59. > :40:05.Labd's shot was -- Abdellaoue's shot was blocked. Barry Bannan gets down

:40:06. > :40:11.on this -- done on this near side and het gets caught ball-watching.

:40:12. > :40:19.Abdellaoue gets the shot off. Bannan is reacting too late. He pulled

:40:20. > :40:24.back, Abdellaoue, it is a good block from Greer. When you're in those

:40:25. > :40:30.wide areas, that is why the full backs are getting forward. The wide

:40:31. > :40:39.midfielders really have to switch on. Another Norway free kick, Morten

:40:40. > :40:44.Gamst Pedersen was fouled according to the referee. The final ten

:40:45. > :40:52.minutes in Molde. Norway zero, Scotland one. It has been backs to

:40:53. > :40:55.the walls at times. Scott Brown with his third international goal

:40:56. > :41:12.separating the teams. Just under 10,000 in the stadium

:41:13. > :41:17.tonight. The natives don't get to see the Norwegian national team at

:41:18. > :41:25.close quarters very often. It is the first time since 1998. That is the

:41:26. > :41:33.only other occasion they have brought the national team here.

:41:34. > :41:38.Rangers played here in 1996 and drew 0-0 against Molde. That is the only

:41:39. > :42:18.famous Scottish side that has come here in recent occasions.

:42:19. > :42:27.The bounce not taking it through. It has taken a lot of punishment the

:42:28. > :42:32.pitch over the season. But even just today, because of the amount of snow

:42:33. > :42:39.that's fallen. It has been ripped up and is being replaced by an

:42:40. > :42:43.artificial turf as Conway is taken out of game and that will be a

:42:44. > :42:50.yellow card for Linnes. It is a Scottish free kick. It is level with

:42:51. > :42:53.the six yard line of Norway. A positive run by Conway. He takes him

:42:54. > :43:21.out. Snodgrass's effort is deflected and

:43:22. > :43:26.Brown looked for a second. We saw that move in Gordon Strachan's first

:43:27. > :43:32.game against Estonia. Mulgrew scored from it on that occasion. They did

:43:33. > :43:40.it against the Americans. This time it is Snodgrass is the man who works

:43:41. > :43:56.the area. That would have been the cherry on the cake, wouldn't it?

:43:57. > :44:23.The ball exactly where Scotland want it going into the time six minutes.

:44:24. > :45:03.A poor ball. A very poor ball. Linnes up from right back perhaps

:45:04. > :45:13.not the same delivery ability as the man he replaced in Elabdellaoui.

:45:14. > :45:32.Another change for the Norwegians. Elyounoussi will come on.

:45:33. > :45:37.Tarik Elyounoussi will be on fairly soon. It was going to happen there

:45:38. > :45:48.but the referee did not spot it. Norway are back on the ball.

:45:49. > :45:56.Gordon Strachan said the traditional formation was a thing of the past.

:45:57. > :45:59.In general, we have matched them up since we have got in that shape.

:46:00. > :46:21.Martin. Gamst Patterson -- Gamst Pedersen

:46:22. > :46:30.began. There were no takers at the cross. The angle just against them

:46:31. > :46:37.from the strike. They just gambled on it. A lot of the flexion. You can

:46:38. > :46:57.see the angle is just not there. -- the flexion stopped -- supply chain.

:46:58. > :47:20.That was easier for Marshall to deal with that time, the effort for

:47:21. > :47:28.Abdellaoue. -- from Abdellaoue. Just three minutes left.

:47:29. > :47:42.Norway are trailing Scotland by one goal. The assistant referee's flag

:47:43. > :47:50.is waving manically. I think that was for McArthur. The referee did

:47:51. > :48:24.not spot it but the linesman it. -- did.

:48:25. > :48:37.Hogli has tried to sneak in behind them. It has been a poor 2013 for

:48:38. > :48:41.Norway. A big contrast between then and Scotland. As a mentioned at the

:48:42. > :48:54.start of the match, Norway... This time last year, Scotland one their

:48:55. > :48:59.game. Scotland were in between managers on that occasion. They have

:49:00. > :49:15.come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months. Job not done for the

:49:16. > :49:25.Scots left. -- yet. Linnes is trying to take Whittaker out of the game.

:49:26. > :49:35.Jenssen's ball drops back. Final minute.

:49:36. > :49:49.Abdellaoue has been the of space -- plenty of space. Another opportunity

:49:50. > :49:56.comes and goes in for Norway. Marshall has been there. When they

:49:57. > :50:02.do get a good connection on it, they do not hit the target, and that is

:50:03. > :50:11.exactly what he has done there. A lovely header by Gamst Pedersen. It

:50:12. > :50:16.is about a foot wide. Four minutes of stoppage time added on by the

:50:17. > :50:24.Swedish referee because of all of the changes that were made to

:50:25. > :50:36.Scotland. The Norway team are full of new blood.

:50:37. > :51:01.Naismith was fouled by Vegard Forren.

:51:02. > :51:10.Scotland are looking at a change as well. They are being readied for

:51:11. > :51:17.action on the bench. This is the first time Conway has been able to

:51:18. > :51:25.have a run down the left flank. He is going to stretch his legs.

:51:26. > :51:29.Not grass was coming back from what he thought was an offside position

:51:30. > :51:42.there. -- Snodgrass. Straight to Naismith. Scotland are

:51:43. > :51:52.going to finish this game off in stoppage time. McArthur does well.

:51:53. > :52:01.Turns it back to Brown. Looking up a bit for Scott Brown here. Scotland

:52:02. > :52:05.have not been able to do that much tonight. Really good at this stage

:52:06. > :52:32.of the game for Scott Brown. Two minutes, Norway, to try to

:52:33. > :52:40.level. Norway has been on the periphery of the international scene

:52:41. > :52:49.in recent times. There has been a good defensive partnership for

:52:50. > :52:59.Scotland. Conway trying to attack Linnes. Looking for Snodgrass at the

:53:00. > :53:01.back post. Picked up by Nilan -- picked up by the goalkeeper. Gamst

:53:02. > :53:25.Pedersen. I do not know if there I will get on

:53:26. > :53:34.until the final moments. That was a foul by Gamst Pedersen. From a

:53:35. > :53:42.Scotland point of view, that re-kick has bought them some seconds to try

:53:43. > :53:52.and see this game out. -- free kick of the -- free kick.

:53:53. > :53:57.I think Gordon Strachan will look at that and think, he plays all over

:53:58. > :54:07.the place in the first half, switch some things tactically, but pleased

:54:08. > :54:17.with the second half. 28 cap for the player who has just come on.

:54:18. > :54:21.Jenssen's long ball. Scotland just about there. Gamst Pedersen, perhaps

:54:22. > :54:34.one last chance for the Norwegians. Norway are going to have a free kick

:54:35. > :54:46.here, deep into the fifth minute of stoppage time.

:54:47. > :54:56.Everyone back behind the ball. Gamst Pedersen, one last leg of his left

:54:57. > :55:02.boot here to try and salvage this game for Norway. I do not manage.

:55:03. > :55:07.Scotland have ended what has been a year of transition, a year of hope,

:55:08. > :55:14.with a victory here in Norway. Scott Brown with the only goal of the

:55:15. > :55:19.game. Cooper coming to the fore. -- the skipper coming to the fore. It

:55:20. > :55:23.was these cots he found the net. David Marshall was a hero at the

:55:24. > :55:29.other end as well. The Celtic captain and the national captain

:55:30. > :55:40.with his third international goal. Wonderful, powerful strike. The

:55:41. > :55:50.first year of Gordon Strachan as the man in charge has ended well. The

:55:51. > :55:56.qualification draw will be in France in mid February. For the 14 is a

:55:57. > :55:59.World Cup year that will not feature Scotland, but perhaps the future is

:56:00. > :56:15.bright under Strachan. We will hear from Gordon Strachan as

:56:16. > :56:20.soon as we can. What my guests have to explain it, how did Scotland when

:56:21. > :56:25.that? Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. That is what it

:56:26. > :56:33.comes down to. We battled and thoughts. We were second best. -- we

:56:34. > :56:38.battled and fought. We had one opportunity and maybe a slight sniff

:56:39. > :56:41.at the other opportunities. If you look at the possession, we were very

:56:42. > :56:45.lucky to get through, but sometimes, you just have to be lucky

:56:46. > :56:50.and believe in yourself and have a decent keeper as well. Scott Brown

:56:51. > :56:58.does not score to many. A valuable one, this one. It is great that he

:56:59. > :57:05.is even out there. He played a little bit deeper. He is supporting

:57:06. > :57:14.the play. Charlie Adam goes forward and Scott Brown hit it. The

:57:15. > :57:19.goalkeeper goes with the one hand. If he went with two that would

:57:20. > :57:22.probably have been a block. The deflection might be the little thing

:57:23. > :57:28.that pushed the goalkeeper off. I still think he could have kept that

:57:29. > :57:32.out. The strike is the important thing. He just gets lots of power

:57:33. > :57:38.and gets his head over it and goes towards the corner. It had in a

:57:39. > :57:42.tough time at various points in the game. A player with experience just

:57:43. > :57:46.does not believe it. He works through it and he did. Another

:57:47. > :57:52.valuable contribution for Scotland tonight was from David Marshall.

:57:53. > :58:00.Absolutely. He has had a few really good saves in the game. A vital save

:58:01. > :58:07.their to keep the score line blank. He did not read it too early or try

:58:08. > :58:13.to cover the wrong side of the goal. He stayed back long enough to manage

:58:14. > :58:20.to get a leg on it. It was unorthodox goalkeeping. That is a

:58:21. > :58:25.really good save. He stayed up long enough to react and get a boot on

:58:26. > :58:33.that. He is in control of this one. He gets a wide and gets it in a good

:58:34. > :58:40.area. That was a great area to get help from the defenders. The

:58:41. > :58:43.important bit is that it is away from goal and it is that the site

:58:44. > :58:48.and there is no chance for a rebound. Two big performances from

:58:49. > :58:57.Scott Brown and David Marshall. Here they are with our correspondent. Is

:58:58. > :59:02.It was a tough match? Yes the lavrds fought all the way. We didn't play

:59:03. > :59:05.the best, but we got the result. Why do you think the performance wasn't

:59:06. > :59:11.as good as we have seen from Scotland? I think the pitch played a

:59:12. > :59:14.big part. It was soft and soggy and we couldn't pass the ball as well.

:59:15. > :59:22.But fair play, they tried to pass the ball about and we gave as good

:59:23. > :59:26.as we got and got a wit of o' -- bit of luck. You will take that every

:59:27. > :59:29.time? Yes, it was one that I just hit and hope and it was a

:59:30. > :59:36.deflection, but it went in and that is all that matters. David, a busy

:59:37. > :59:40.night for you. What was your take on the match? I don't think we played

:59:41. > :59:45.really well first half. They started well in the game and pressed us well

:59:46. > :59:50.and probably a mixture of them playing well and us not playing

:59:51. > :59:58.great first half. But as the second half went on, we got more

:59:59. > :00:04.comfortable and Scott has put the goal awa ge -- away and we have been

:00:05. > :00:10.on a decent run. It is another victory and another clean sheet.

:00:11. > :00:14.Yes, that is we are on a good run of form. The clean sheet gives us a

:00:15. > :00:20.chance of winning games. Maybe didn't deserve the win tonight, but

:00:21. > :00:26.the way the boys hung on, I think it was justified. Looking forward to

:00:27. > :00:30.the draw in February for euro 2016 and hopefully progressing? Yes

:00:31. > :00:36.especially with our form now. It will be interesting any man. Thank

:00:37. > :00:42.you, well done guys. David Marshall had something to do with that cheap

:00:43. > :00:49.sheet -- clean sheet, but there was great chances. Yes on another night

:00:50. > :00:53.we could have lost two or three goals. They missed some good

:00:54. > :01:02.opportunities. That is good goal keeping. He doesn't look favourite.

:01:03. > :01:06.But he is off his line sharp to clear the ball. It is different

:01:07. > :01:14.parts of his game he has had to work on. You say he doesn't always catch

:01:15. > :01:19.the ball. Scott brown mentioned the conditions. Sometimes it doesn't

:01:20. > :01:23.suit to play your style. It didn't seem to stop the Norwegians, but

:01:24. > :01:30.they did have loads of chances. Against a better team, Scotland may

:01:31. > :01:35.have suffered. They could have done. We gave them a lot of chaps and that

:01:36. > :01:42.hasn't been like us. The keeper hasn't had to make any saves,

:01:43. > :01:45.whoever has been in goal. Tonight was an offnight and we probably got

:01:46. > :01:50.away with it the. That is a great chance late on that they should have

:01:51. > :01:55.scored. Is that a Seip of the times for Scotland -- sign of the times.

:01:56. > :02:01.That we can play disappointingly and come away with a victory. That is a

:02:02. > :02:06.long time sips we have been able to do that. It is a bit of luck and

:02:07. > :02:11.also the manager organises the team and now we have six hours worth of

:02:12. > :02:15.play and lost one goal. That will do for us. That is all we have time for

:02:16. > :02:20.for the TV programme. But the chat with us will continue online on the

:02:21. > :02:25.BBC web-site. Join us for that and we will hear from sfrachlt on that

:02:26. > :02:31.as well. Tonight another helping of feel good factor and in the final

:02:32. > :02:34.game for Scotland in 2013, Gordon Strachan's team victors in Norway.

:02:35. > :02:37.Bye for now.
