:00:16. > :00:35.COMMENTATOR: Right out of the top drawer! An absolute beauty! Oh yes!

:00:36. > :00:51.It's unbelievable, unbelievable! What a finish! It is not a dream, it

:00:52. > :01:02.is reality. No two teams are bigger than Aberdeen and Celtic. ROCK

:01:03. > :01:08.MUSIC. Aberdeen are true to their first Scottish Cup final in 17

:01:09. > :01:19.years! Celtic take another step towards the treble. The 71st

:01:20. > :01:46.Scottish League Cup final. It is Celtic's League Cup. It was

:01:47. > :02:02.Wallace who scored. Celtic are invincible!

:02:03. > :02:10.Those fans banging the drum for Celtic today, they want their team

:02:11. > :02:14.to keep the tag of invincible is. Unbeaten in Scottish football so far

:02:15. > :02:20.this season. Brendan Rodgers' team is one day away from celebrating a

:02:21. > :02:26.domestic treble. Aberdeen have been runners-up in the Premiership and

:02:27. > :02:30.losing finalists in the lean -- League Cup. Can they win the

:02:31. > :02:35.Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990? It's the 132nd Scottish

:02:36. > :02:42.Cup final, it is Celtic against Aberdeen and it's live on the BBC.

:02:43. > :02:46.We'll Brendan Rodgers' first year as Celtic manager end with a glorious

:02:47. > :02:50.treble, or can Aberdeen emerge from the shadow of the champions when it

:02:51. > :02:56.matters most? I'm hoping these three can help answer those questions.

:02:57. > :03:02.Michael Stewart, Willie Miller and the man who had his arms wrapped

:03:03. > :03:05.around betrays the year ago, former Hibs manager Alan Stubbs. Alan a

:03:06. > :03:17.triple winner as well with Celtic, winning the Scottish Cup in 2001.

:03:18. > :03:21.And of course, at this very time last season, he was the manager of

:03:22. > :03:31.Hibs, taking delivery of that piece of silverware and ending 114 years

:03:32. > :03:37.of pain. How it did that feel, and also does it feel like a year has

:03:38. > :03:43.passed since? It was amazing on the day. I think to have been part of,

:03:44. > :03:47.you know, it was a really good game. But to have come out the other end

:03:48. > :03:53.as winners, it was fantastic for the players. I can't believe it's been a

:03:54. > :03:59.year. It really has gone nowhere. You've got a great relationship with

:04:00. > :04:02.this trophy, so have Willie. When we look at these, and these are

:04:03. > :04:10.separate pictures by the way. They all look much the same! Four times

:04:11. > :04:15.you help this aloft in the 80s. It's a magnificent trophy, I must say.

:04:16. > :04:20.The occasion today is fabulous. It's good to see my old team back here in

:04:21. > :04:24.the big stage, at the end of the season with an opportunity to do

:04:25. > :04:32.what I did all those years ago. It wasn't a year ago that these photos

:04:33. > :04:37.were taken by the way! LAUGHTER It's is likely further back! Michael, is

:04:38. > :04:41.it going to be Celtic's trouble? Is it their day in this incredible

:04:42. > :04:45.season or will Aberdeen and the trophy for the first time in 27

:04:46. > :04:49.years? It's quite clear Celtic are the favourites, it's understandable

:04:50. > :04:53.why. They've gone the season undefeated domestically. They are up

:04:54. > :04:56.against a team who have run as close as anybody else. For Aberdeen to win

:04:57. > :05:04.they've got to believe they can do it. I think in the management team,

:05:05. > :05:07.they will be instilling belief in the team. If they perform to their

:05:08. > :05:12.best and if you things fall their way there is no reason they can't

:05:13. > :05:16.get their hands on the trophy. When the PA strikes up it may try to

:05:17. > :05:20.drown us out but we will lift our voices. 100 minutes until cup final

:05:21. > :05:26.kick-off. You know it's going to fly by when you find out what we've got

:05:27. > :05:42.in store for you. We've even got a bit of culture for you! The Scottish

:05:43. > :05:47.Cup in first and read first. The fan's wild screams. Its 27 years

:05:48. > :05:51.since Aberdeen last won the trophy. We had a very good team at that

:05:52. > :05:58.time, probably the best in the country. Remembering that football

:05:59. > :06:05.fairy tale from 1967. Here was the conquering of Europe by a bunch of

:06:06. > :06:18.players drawn from a small nation. The Dons have a team within a team.

:06:19. > :06:26.They say there's no cliques in the changing room, there's the Irish

:06:27. > :06:31.clique. COMMENTATOR: Outstanding piece of finishing! Taking the

:06:32. > :06:43.Michael would be Celtic skipper. That was me celebrating. I love

:06:44. > :06:46.watching my players. I don't get nervous or apprehensive when I watch

:06:47. > :06:51.my team, I really look forward to it. Brendan bids to complete the

:06:52. > :06:55.season of his dreams. This experience as a special experience

:06:56. > :07:03.for me. I'm not sure I'll ever get this again, managing the club that

:07:04. > :07:08.I've supported since I was a child. Looking a lot further ahead, our

:07:09. > :07:13.commentators for the big match today Art Liam McLeod and Steven Thompson.

:07:14. > :07:19.Let's get an early shout from those two. Good afternoon. The Aberdeen

:07:20. > :07:24.players and the manager just walked out of the tunnel in front of us. I

:07:25. > :07:28.don't know if you can see it, the pitch is looking magnificent. You

:07:29. > :07:33.can maybe hear the Aberdeen supporters, those who are here nice

:07:34. > :07:37.and early, welcoming their heroes. Stephen, I was sitting down having

:07:38. > :07:42.my breakfast reading the newspapers, as I do in the morning. Not many

:07:43. > :07:46.people are giving Aberdeen much of a chance against what has been a ramp

:07:47. > :07:51.at Celtic this season. I would probably agree with that. I think

:07:52. > :07:55.Aberdeen have the quality in forward areas to hurt Celtic. But can they

:07:56. > :08:00.stop Celtic from scoring at the other end? I don't believe they can.

:08:01. > :08:04.They've got a limit Celtic to just trying to concede one goal. They've

:08:05. > :08:06.got to get the balance right. If the balance is wrong between over

:08:07. > :08:12.committing in attack they'll be exploited by the Celtic team. Will

:08:13. > :08:16.be neither team lines just after 2pm, starting with Celtic. Perhaps

:08:17. > :08:26.the biggest decision for Brendan Rogers is in the midfield. If it

:08:27. > :08:30.Rogic or McGregor? Also will Dembele be fit enough to start. Dembele

:08:31. > :08:35.hasn't played for a couple of weeks and in that time I think Griffith

:08:36. > :08:39.has been exceptional. McGregor has been a big favourite of Brendan

:08:40. > :08:44.Rogers. He's played fantastically well so I would expect McGregor to

:08:45. > :08:48.start as well. Big decisions for Derek McInnes for Aberdeen. Most

:08:49. > :08:53.notably Ryan Jack who's off at the end of the season. It's been

:08:54. > :08:56.reported in several places he's going to Rangers. Anthony O'Connor

:08:57. > :08:59.has performed pretty well in the midfield, that's probably the

:09:00. > :09:04.biggest decision the manager has to make, albeit Jayden Stockley played

:09:05. > :09:09.very well against Celtic a few weeks ago in the league match. Yes he did.

:09:10. > :09:13.He gives that physical threat up front. One thing about Ryan Jack, he

:09:14. > :09:18.brings composure to the midfield. He can control the game. He always

:09:19. > :09:22.takes the ball in difficult areas and circumstances. I would expect

:09:23. > :09:26.him to come back into this side today. Stockley upfront, I'm not

:09:27. > :09:30.sure, Rooney is the callous man. Stockley gives you the physical

:09:31. > :09:34.presence and he played well in the last game but I would be surprised

:09:35. > :09:40.to see him start. Team needs just after TPN. Whatever happens, history

:09:41. > :09:46.beckons for one of these illustrious football clubs as they top two in

:09:47. > :09:51.Scottish football go head-to-head. Will it be a trouble for Celtic or

:09:52. > :09:57.will Aberdeen in their 27 long wait to lift the Scottish Cup? STUDIO:

:09:58. > :10:01.It's the time of year when we speculate about what these two

:10:02. > :10:08.line-ups might be. Derek McInnes and Brendan Rodgers there. They will

:10:09. > :10:14.have a surprise in store files about the line-up. We know already that

:10:15. > :10:20.Graeme Shinnie will Aberdeen today, so no armband for Ryan Jack. Do you

:10:21. > :10:24.still think a key role in this game? For Ryan Jack, absolutely. I think

:10:25. > :10:29.when he is in the team, Aberdeen have a better chance of controlling

:10:30. > :10:33.that area. When he's not they don't have the same control. The change of

:10:34. > :10:39.captaincy, I think probably expected. Ryan has made up his mind

:10:40. > :10:42.he is leaving. Graeme Shinnie is vice captain anyway so he's a

:10:43. > :10:48.natural progression for him to take over the role. He's been outstanding

:10:49. > :10:53.this season. But why make that decision now? Why not wait until the

:10:54. > :10:56.season is out? He's made an issue of it now. Had he not just kept Ryan

:10:57. > :11:03.Jack has the captain, there wouldn't have been this discussion, and the

:11:04. > :11:08.whole circus surrounding it. I think the issue was made when Ryan made it

:11:09. > :11:12.clear he wasn't staying at the club. That wasn't common knowledge, up

:11:13. > :11:15.until he leaked it. There have been various rumours about where he's

:11:16. > :11:23.going to. There's been a lot of unrest for the fans. I think Derek

:11:24. > :11:28.has taken the right decision here. What about playing him? From my

:11:29. > :11:31.point of view, if I'm Ryan Jack and I'm leaving, I would expect

:11:32. > :11:36.something to happen. In fact I would have said to the manager, if you

:11:37. > :11:41.want me to stand back to captain, I'm moving on next season, then do

:11:42. > :11:45.it. That discussion might have happened. In terms of Celtic the

:11:46. > :11:51.expectation is Moussa Dembele will be in the squad but he will be on

:11:52. > :11:57.the bench. I think it would have been a really big called to start

:11:58. > :12:00.him in the game, especially with him being out with the type of injury he

:12:01. > :12:04.had. It's a difficult one to come back to click from. You're never

:12:05. > :12:11.quite sure with a hamstring, even though he's probably done enough. To

:12:12. > :12:16.actually start him, if it is what we think it's going to be with Leigh

:12:17. > :12:20.Griffiths starting, I think it's the right way to go. The minute we have

:12:21. > :12:24.team news, you will have the team news as well. This is the Scottish

:12:25. > :12:31.Cup final on the BBC. There's something poetic about our coverage.

:12:32. > :12:40.Poet Liam MacCormack will add a badly needed touch of class as he

:12:41. > :12:53.talks us through the Road to. -- the road to Hampton.. He stood in the

:12:54. > :13:01.shadow of the scoring roar. That one screamed about the emerald green.

:13:02. > :13:06.His face lined like time and worry. He never could keep his eye on the

:13:07. > :13:09.ball. As his son tears down the street, his feet kick up the dust of

:13:10. > :13:22.industry. His easy smile through gritted teeth. The ball comes to his

:13:23. > :13:36.feet. And fits. Like the Pearl and the world's waster. -- the world's

:13:37. > :13:48.oyster. Whether you bore the brunt in this land, you're probably

:13:49. > :13:58.getting these texts, same as me. Great result, chief! 6-0. At the

:13:59. > :14:08.final whistle, the enemy's dismissal. When I wake up, I'll

:14:09. > :14:14.know. They are going to be the men who put three past them. In this

:14:15. > :14:22.country and this cup we dream of these teams appearing on wide

:14:23. > :14:30.screens. Playing and making history. STUDIO: Liam will be back with us

:14:31. > :14:37.shortly to talk us through the poems. An almost permanent fixture

:14:38. > :14:41.in the 80s so it's incredible to think it is almost 27 years since

:14:42. > :14:45.this special piece of silverware had its home in the north-east. It was

:14:46. > :14:47.the first time the competition had ever been won on penalties. We go

:14:48. > :14:57.back to the shoot out drama of 1990. We had a very good team that the

:14:58. > :15:01.time. Probably the best in the country.

:15:02. > :15:07.I was unaware at the beginning of the game how it was going to unfold.

:15:08. > :15:13.But excited to play in the first Scottish Cup Final. My best moment

:15:14. > :15:21.in football, having a big say in the outcome that, it was a great

:15:22. > :15:26.feeling. On the Scottish Cup Final is on the

:15:27. > :15:32.way. That is a great first time ball.

:15:33. > :15:39.Into space for Nicholas. Aberdeen in the box. One of them is Hillhouse.

:15:40. > :15:43.In a game of limited chances Aberdeen and Celtic could not be

:15:44. > :15:49.separated. No scoring here at Hampden and that is the end of the

:15:50. > :15:56.match. The cup will be settled on penalty-kicks. It was an exciting

:15:57. > :16:00.game. We had done our job, not losing goals as a defender. Then the

:16:01. > :16:05.penalty shoot-out was going to take it to another level. Strange because

:16:06. > :16:09.you didn't think before the game it would end up going to penalty, it

:16:10. > :16:14.was going to the next step. I didn't think it was part of the game. I

:16:15. > :16:19.didn't agree to that. I would have rather won the game through the

:16:20. > :16:28.playing of it. I must say, most of the penalty were taken quite well.

:16:29. > :16:40.Brilliantly taken by Bett. Into the corner.

:16:41. > :16:57.Celtic bound Charlie Nicholas had to score to make it sudden death. .

:16:58. > :17:01.This would have given Celtic qualification to up yoo, he was

:17:02. > :17:05.going to be playinger for them. When it came to his turn, in the last of

:17:06. > :17:08.the normal five penalties he put it in the top corner so it was

:17:09. > :17:15.brilliant or he meant to miss it, I don't know.

:17:16. > :17:19.Calmly and confidently, he ties up the penalty shoot-outs. Half way

:17:20. > :17:23.through the shoot out I was starting to feel indifferent about it. I

:17:24. > :17:27.wasn't feeling that for our own side, I was feeling that on the

:17:28. > :17:32.Celtic lads going up as well. I remember that Graham Watson took the

:17:33. > :17:39.penalty, that in half way line, the Celtic players were winding the

:17:40. > :17:42.Celtic end up. He was threatened by a serious injury a year ago, the

:17:43. > :17:50.Celtic fans trying to build up the tension for the youngster.

:17:51. > :17:56.You have to hand it to the young man, a little smile appears on hiss

:17:57. > :18:01.face. I did the same, what they did, with our crowd. And luckily, I think

:18:02. > :18:07.Aberdeen had 25,000 supporters over, but they were in the goal behind

:18:08. > :18:15.myself. And especially with the roof, the noise was immense.

:18:16. > :18:25.And it is a magnificent save. It might win the cup for Aberdeen. That

:18:26. > :18:31.is a magnificent save from the Dutch goalkeeper.

:18:32. > :18:37.In the last man before the goalkeeper, in the position, if I

:18:38. > :18:40.could score we would win it. The ones before big Alec McLeish, they

:18:41. > :18:45.have to score to keep us in the game.

:18:46. > :18:50.That is beautifully taken by McLeish. As I go forward to score to

:18:51. > :19:02.win it, and what a feeling when the ball hit the back of the net.

:19:03. > :19:09.Aberdeen have won! Won! I knew it was going to go in, Pat bonner had

:19:10. > :19:15.dived the wrong way. It gives me goose bumps thinking about it now

:19:16. > :19:19.now, 27 years later. In Holland, my mum was watching the game. Before

:19:20. > :19:23.the final penalties it went to a different programme and they

:19:24. > :19:28.couldn't tell the score. So in the hotel, I had to phone her to tell

:19:29. > :19:32.her what the score was, that he won it in the end.

:19:33. > :19:40.Going back up to Aberdeen the next day on an open deck bus, down Union

:19:41. > :19:44.Street going into Town House and celebrating in front of 25, 30,000

:19:45. > :19:48.Aberdeen fans. Lining the street. That is the sort of thing you

:19:49. > :19:52.dreamed as a boy doing, to be doing it for real is incredible. We had

:19:53. > :19:57.the League Cup with us and the Scottish Cup. As I came off the bus,

:19:58. > :20:02.I had enjoyed it so much, and I thought it was great managing

:20:03. > :20:05.Aberdeen, till an old supporter slapped 30,000 Aberdeen fans. Lining

:20:06. > :20:08.the street. That is the sort of thing you dreamed as a boy doing, to

:20:09. > :20:11.be doing it for real is incredible. We had the League Cup with us and

:20:12. > :20:14.the Scottish Cup. As I came off the bus, I had enjoyed it so much, and I

:20:15. > :20:16.thought it was great managing Aberdeen, till an old supporter

:20:17. > :20:18.slapped me on the back, "Well done Alex, you brought back the Fergie

:20:19. > :20:21.day, now for the treble". From the Scottish Cup of 1990 to the

:20:22. > :20:24.2017 version, and that is Brendan Rodgers going to have the perfect

:20:25. > :20:28.ending to what has been an already remarkable season in his first

:20:29. > :20:32.season as Celtic manager, there is the skipper Scott Browne, Lee

:20:33. > :20:36.Griffiths who we understand will start, with Moussa Dembele on the

:20:37. > :20:39.bench, all the team news on the way and maybe an intriguing Aberdeen

:20:40. > :20:46.team selection to come as well. More of that, but let us go back 27 years

:20:47. > :20:51.and you were heading to the knackers yard Willie, at that stage, you

:20:52. > :20:55.career was almost over. Injury stopped you living that particular

:20:56. > :21:00.trophy. I played half the season and got injured for Scotland, playing

:21:01. > :21:03.against Norway, here at Hampden, and almost made it back, but just didn't

:21:04. > :21:10.quite get there, but I was part of the squad. I went down with Alex and

:21:11. > :21:16.the rest of the team and watched the game. Experienced ex kitement of

:21:17. > :21:24.lifting the trophy. You weren't going behind the crowd working up

:21:25. > :21:29.the frenzy? No, I sat up there, I watched it going to penalties and I

:21:30. > :21:35.thought I'm glad I'm not taking one. There was one goalkeeper making an

:21:36. > :21:43.outstanding save. Another one was doing all he could to divert out of

:21:44. > :21:49.the way, Packie Bonner. E plain yourself. My word. I wish Wally was

:21:50. > :21:53.taking one, with that tash and the hair, I had him psyched out many

:21:54. > :21:59.time, so unfortunately, listen, when you are watching it back and you

:22:00. > :22:04.look at the penalties you wish you had to go the right way. Listen for

:22:05. > :22:08.Aberdeen it was a great occasion, but for a Celtic team to lose a

:22:09. > :22:14.final and the first shoot out, can I say also was a big disappointment. I

:22:15. > :22:18.feel sorry for Anton, the goalkeeper doesn't have to really, he has never

:22:19. > :22:21.been the one expected to save penalty, if you do you become a

:22:22. > :22:26.hero. What a good save that was. In the corner. That is nice of you to

:22:27. > :22:31.give credit. I like to see them getting credit as you know, but we

:22:32. > :22:35.missed the first penalty. And that put us under severe pressure on the

:22:36. > :22:41.day, it was never nice, the last couple of days I have been reflected

:22:42. > :22:45.on it, looking back, I forgot about it probably the week after it, once

:22:46. > :22:50.we went on holiday, when you win things like that it stays in your

:22:51. > :22:57.memory. It is a great lesson to Bryan and Alec, and probably living

:22:58. > :23:01.it as if it was yesterday. If we mad a camera on you at the time you had

:23:02. > :23:05.gritted teeth. That summer was great for me in other ways. Did you save a

:23:06. > :23:08.penalty in I learned from that final. That was the great thing, you

:23:09. > :23:17.have to reflect on these things and that is what I did. Enjoy your

:23:18. > :23:22.afternoon. And just on that theme of the decade of dominance, let us look

:23:23. > :23:29.at one of those Cup Final win, Scottish Cup Final wins for

:23:30. > :23:34.Aberdeen, this was 19th May 1984. Aberdeen 2 Celtic 1. Eric Black

:23:35. > :23:39.getting the first one. You will want to analyse the defending for the

:23:40. > :23:43.equaliser. I think we had a habit. Who is that full-back? It was his

:23:44. > :23:48.fault. We had a habit of going to extra time and coming out on top.

:23:49. > :23:52.When you get here, to the big game, you know, at the end of the season,

:23:53. > :23:57.it is one you want to remember, and you know, I remember this goal.

:23:58. > :24:03.Looking at the back post. Was that off his shin? If you ask Mark it

:24:04. > :24:08.wasn't. It was a sweet strike. But the most important thing it ended up

:24:09. > :24:12.in the back of the net. These are wonderful memories for Aberdeen. But

:24:13. > :24:18.not knowing what is going to unfold today. The two best teams are here

:24:19. > :24:22.today. It is great that they will be here, I hope Aberdeen really take

:24:23. > :24:27.the game to Celtic, and try and put them under pressure, because it is

:24:28. > :24:31.amazing what happens in these occasion, it will be about whoever

:24:32. > :24:34.settles early on, and if Aberdeen can get an early goal it will be

:24:35. > :24:39.interesting to see how Celtic respond. It is about squeezing the

:24:40. > :24:42.negative thoughts for Aberdeen and there are plenty of them against

:24:43. > :24:46.Celtic. Squeezing those out and putting the action on the positive.

:24:47. > :24:52.Easier said than done. It is, but something they have to do. I was

:24:53. > :24:55.saying before that the management team have to try and instil that

:24:56. > :25:00.belief in the team they can do it. And you know, it is going to be a

:25:01. > :25:04.difficult job. No question of that. Talking about the historical games

:25:05. > :25:07.that have been here and whether they have an influence, I don't think the

:25:08. > :25:10.finals will have an influence but they have to try and draw strength

:25:11. > :25:14.from the fact that they are the team that is closest to Celtic, and they

:25:15. > :25:17.are a club that are capable of winning trophies and if they can do

:25:18. > :25:21.that, as I say, there is a chance for Aberdeen. I think what doesn't

:25:22. > :25:25.change in these game, is that you have to come down. You have to be

:25:26. > :25:29.able to handle the occasion the atmosphere, it is Celtic, it is

:25:30. > :25:32.different from playing any other team, Rangers and Celtic Cup Finals

:25:33. > :25:37.here are difficult. Mentally you have to be able to handle it. So

:25:38. > :25:40.fair Aberdeen haven't handled it on the big occasion, in the League Cup

:25:41. > :25:44.they didn't play particularly well. That I have to or Celtic will take

:25:45. > :25:48.the trophy. We know our reporter Jane loves a celebrity, she is on

:25:49. > :25:53.patrol outside Hampden, for anyone vaguely famous to be honest, she has

:25:54. > :25:59.found someone really famous early on, Harry Redknapp is here now. He

:26:00. > :26:03.was the Birmingham City, he is the current Birmingham City manager but

:26:04. > :26:08.he managed Portsmouth to their first FA win of 2008. This will be one of

:26:09. > :26:11.his rare interviews not out of the car, window, here he is with Jane.

:26:12. > :26:15.Is Harry, lovely to see you in Scotland. It begs the question what

:26:16. > :26:20.are you doing at the Scottish FA Cup Final? The English one is on you

:26:21. > :26:26.know. No, it was just, you know, I took over at Birmingham and trying

:26:27. > :26:31.to get in as many came agames as I can. I just thought I would come and

:26:32. > :26:36.have a look and see if there is any players who might want to go to

:26:37. > :26:40.Birmingham. I doubt, there is some good players on show. You might want

:26:41. > :26:45.to keep your plans quiet to Brendan Rodgers and Derek McInnes. What game

:26:46. > :26:50.do you expect today? Celtic, they are, they have had an incredible

:26:51. > :26:55.season. Derek has done a great job at Aberdeen. Celtic have won, they

:26:56. > :26:59.have the upper hand, and they have had the upper hand with everybody,

:27:00. > :27:03.it has been an amazing season for them but full credit to Aberdeen as

:27:04. > :27:09.well. To finish second, it has been fantastic. Celtic going for the

:27:10. > :27:13.treble. That will prove a good incentive. They will want to finish

:27:14. > :27:16.the job today but I am sure Aberdeen will want to stop that. It will be a

:27:17. > :27:24.great atmosphere, I am looking forward to it. Enjoy it Harry. That

:27:25. > :27:28.was nice of Jane. Harry Redknapp there and more VIP interviews to

:27:29. > :27:32.come between now and kick off. If Celtic do land the treble, and of

:27:33. > :27:36.course Brendan Rodgers and company have already got the Premiership

:27:37. > :27:41.trophy and the League Cup tucked away, just one game away from the

:27:42. > :27:44.clean sweep, it through be with impeccable timing. 50 years in a

:27:45. > :27:48.couple of days since the Lisbon Lions won the European Cup. That is

:27:49. > :28:01.an anniversary well worth celebrating.

:28:02. > :28:05.# For it's a grand old team to play for. Hfsh

:28:06. > :28:16.for. for.

:28:17. > :28:22.And when you know the history. # Bertie Auld played inside left and

:28:23. > :28:29.I'm a Lisbon Lion. Was right back in the team. Left win winger. John

:28:30. > :28:36.Clark, number six, proud to be with the Lisbon Lions. I covered the

:28:37. > :28:42.European Cup final for The Observer newspaper. Jock Stein brought talent

:28:43. > :28:48.and elements of personality to the job of managing a football team,

:28:49. > :28:52.that have never been surpassed. We trained the day before and all of a

:28:53. > :28:57.sudden he picks the pace and the ball. The entire team was standing

:28:58. > :29:03.in the enclosure and the boss must have seen it. Whenever they saw us

:29:04. > :29:06.training in the past, the pace, the determination and the fun, that was

:29:07. > :29:13.the most important thing, we did it with passion. He said these people,

:29:14. > :29:18.that was Inter Milan of course, these people, he liked to talk about

:29:19. > :29:22.that, he said these people are defensive, that is their business,

:29:23. > :29:28.but that is not our way. He said we want to win this. In manner that

:29:29. > :29:33.will make every neutral happy we have won it. We have left the

:29:34. > :29:38.dressing room and the Italians were standing, all greased up. They

:29:39. > :29:43.looked better than us. They have the tan, and the oil. There is no doubt

:29:44. > :29:46.Bertie started it We have to go to war. He started singing in the

:29:47. > :29:50.tunnel. tunnel.

:29:51. > :29:56.one of the boys started singing it. one of the boys started singing it.

:29:57. > :29:58.go... go...

:29:59. > :30:02.# For we only know, # For we only know,

:30:03. > :30:06.Can we relax a bit. Can we relax a bit.

:30:07. > :30:09.# And the Glasgow Celtic will be there. #

:30:10. > :30:12.You walked up the stairs and out, it was a mass of people in green and

:30:13. > :30:26.white. # white. Away we go for the European Cup

:30:27. > :30:37.final. The referee blew the whistle and we were on the way. The chances

:30:38. > :30:42.where he was going to pollute back on the left foot. I deliberately ran

:30:43. > :30:46.across his path. I didn't think many referees would have given a penalty

:30:47. > :30:56.kick in the first six or seven minutes but this one did. You feel

:30:57. > :31:09.no matter how great Celtic are, this is a job of work. We believed in the

:31:10. > :31:14.bass, we believed in ourselves. Wonderful save! At half-time the

:31:15. > :31:21.manager to told us to keep going, just push it a bit more. Through the

:31:22. > :31:26.whole of the European Cup they were probably the easiest opposition we

:31:27. > :31:35.played. After a short time we were playing to hang on. It's a goal!

:31:36. > :31:46.He's not giving it. Celtic, of course, performed in a way you felt

:31:47. > :31:56.had to win the match. He's done it! When they scored the goal, you

:31:57. > :32:09.looked at them and you thought, they're gone. Celtic have scored!

:32:10. > :32:19.Only five minutes to go in the European Cup and it's on its way to

:32:20. > :32:24.Glasgow. They had taken a wrecking ball to the theories about the

:32:25. > :32:32.percentages of defensive football. The whistle is going and Celtic have

:32:33. > :32:44.won the European Cup. We've won the European Cup. That was my favourite

:32:45. > :32:51.memory of what happened. He was the conquering of Europe by a bunch of

:32:52. > :33:01.players drawn from a weed corner of a wee nation. That's the best way

:33:02. > :33:13.I've ever seen any captain receiving a cup. It looked as if Caesar ruled.

:33:14. > :33:25.Even then, I had no doubt that that support, I'll never guess. Every

:33:26. > :33:30.supporter comes up to shake your hand, they are delighted because it

:33:31. > :33:39.proud. proud.

:33:40. > :33:47.will be there and will be there and

:33:48. > :33:53.# Just call me Glenn! Glenn Daly was the reference there, the Glasgow

:33:54. > :33:58.musical legend who originally sang the song. Who are we to disagree?

:33:59. > :34:07.There's a great documentary on the go at the moment on the BBC iPlayer.

:34:08. > :34:12.Glasgow 1967, the Lisbon Lions. It's a fantastic watch so have a look at

:34:13. > :34:16.that. It evokes feelings of joy and sadness. Sadness for the Lions who

:34:17. > :34:21.are no longer with us, those suffering ill health and joy for the

:34:22. > :34:25.ones who are with us. Joy, an everlasting memory of the Lisbon

:34:26. > :34:30.Lions. The Scottish Cup connection is this because this was them a

:34:31. > :34:40.month before Lisbon, winning 2-0 against Aberdeen in the Cup final in

:34:41. > :34:45.front of a crowd of 126,102 crammed inside Hampden Park. That was the

:34:46. > :34:53.last time Celtic beat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final which is an

:34:54. > :34:58.amazing statistic. But the spirit of 67, it is evident, for everyone who

:34:59. > :35:02.has anything to do with Celtic ever since that famous day in Lisbon.

:35:03. > :35:06.Yes, I think the biggest tribute you could pay to them is that the season

:35:07. > :35:14.reflects the success that they had. It's great they've had that to mark

:35:15. > :35:19.50 years. Not just are they incredible footballers, they are

:35:20. > :35:26.incredible people as well. They are great personalities. That comes

:35:27. > :35:31.across. They were saying there that the plaudits came from all over

:35:32. > :35:35.Scotland. It's not just about Celtic supporters appreciating the Lisbon

:35:36. > :35:39.Lions, I think the whole country appreciates what they achieved. They

:35:40. > :35:47.were a fabulous side. It was a football fairy tale. Back to our cup

:35:48. > :35:52.final poets, Liam McCormick has been retracing the road to Hampden in his

:35:53. > :35:59.original style. There are one or two David versus Goliath confrontations.

:36:00. > :36:08.He was in his late 20s, had a trial for Man City when he was just 16. He

:36:09. > :36:14.was the best player in his village. When he wasn't selected, he went

:36:15. > :36:22.home and perfected his touch, his pace, he chases his chance to shoot.

:36:23. > :36:29.To touch pass to Scott Barber, finds the back of the net. David flicking

:36:30. > :36:38.the ball in like a stone in a sling. David is John Macleod kicking in by

:36:39. > :36:43.the final whistle. Next round they've got Goliath. The fearsome,

:36:44. > :37:03.the great Don Baroness Warsi. 5-3, Dunfermline. They put in a good

:37:04. > :37:11.shift but not enough to win. 6-0, disappointed. Get some tea and

:37:12. > :37:16.chocolate. STUDIO: Thank you. Just about an hour and ten minutes away

:37:17. > :37:20.from kick-off at Hampden. It's the Scottish Cup final on the BBC.

:37:21. > :37:25.Hopefully we are getting your appetite whetted ahead of the big

:37:26. > :37:28.match. Have you heard the one about the three Irish men? They lead the

:37:29. > :37:33.attack of Aberdeen and have scored 44 goals between them this season. I

:37:34. > :38:16.didn't Rooney, Niall McGinn and Jonny Hayes. -- Adam Rooney.

:38:17. > :38:25.Are you guys joining a team within a team? Are you pretty matey? We've

:38:26. > :38:31.got our own little corner. They say there are no Hampden in the changing

:38:32. > :38:39.room, there's the Irish clique. It's a weird thing that Irish players

:38:40. > :38:45.just seem to get on well. You've got to ask the boys, any club they've

:38:46. > :38:55.been to, guys with similar backgrounds coming across. Adam had

:38:56. > :38:58.eight or nine bedroom houses, a bit of a difference. We just seem to

:38:59. > :39:10.find each other at every football club. I've known as a long time. We

:39:11. > :39:17.just seem to get on. Similar backgrounds. To be honest, most

:39:18. > :39:22.Irish lads get on as well. He's got a picture on his phone showing you

:39:23. > :39:31.two very close and attentive to each other. He's a jealous lad, Reynolds.

:39:32. > :39:40.Is it just jealousy? Yes, he's always trying to worm his way in.

:39:41. > :39:46.Produce tape fake Irish passport! COMMENTATOR: Brilliant! What a goal

:39:47. > :39:50.from Niall McGinn. I've seen him do some wonderful things, he's got that

:39:51. > :39:57.ability. I've not played with many players of that calibre. Brilliant

:39:58. > :40:14.from Niall McGinn. He beat 34 lads and puts it in the box. His pace and

:40:15. > :40:16.fitness is incredible. For me personally, I haven't come across a

:40:17. > :40:32.lad like him. It hits Adam Rooney and goes in! At

:40:33. > :40:43.long last they have found the breakthrough. You don't go them too

:40:44. > :40:51.much about Northern Ireland's success, do you? Everyday! When I

:40:52. > :41:00.got 50 caps it was a special moment for me. It's been an unbelievable

:41:01. > :41:09.international career. Definitely the club football has stood me in good

:41:10. > :41:14.stead for that. How is the McGinn campaign going? I've got the post is

:41:15. > :41:18.ready for the Cup final. He's a good pal of mine. Whatever decision he

:41:19. > :41:33.makes, he'll have the best wishes from everyone here. He's produced

:41:34. > :41:40.performances on the pitch. Reynolds will be asking for number ten. Is

:41:41. > :41:50.that an ambition of his? He'll be thrilled! How much are you looking

:41:51. > :41:53.forward to Hampden? As a group, the last number of years we've always

:41:54. > :41:58.been confident about winning trophies. Hopefully we can do it

:41:59. > :42:05.this year. Seeing the three of you must give you confidence about the

:42:06. > :42:10.ability you've got in the team. I think we've won the trophy a few

:42:11. > :42:17.years ago, we've been to Hampden and lost, we need to use both

:42:18. > :42:24.experiences of winning and losing. There will be no better way than to

:42:25. > :42:37.get the winner 's medal. Thank you very much. STUDIO: Jonny Hayes'

:42:38. > :42:43.haircut was the highlight of that interview! LAUGHTER Every Saturday

:42:44. > :42:46.on the radio you talk about their every moment. Seeing Adam Rooney,

:42:47. > :42:51.there's a whisper at the moment, we'll confirm it very shortly, that

:42:52. > :42:58.Adam Rooney might not start. How would you react to that? I think

:42:59. > :43:06.going through Derek McInnes' mind was the last game against Celtic

:43:07. > :43:14.more mobile, goes from side to side more mobile, goes from side to side

:43:15. > :43:19.-- Stockley played up front. It gave the Celtic centre-backs a lot to

:43:20. > :43:22.think about in that game. If Rooney doesn't start and Stockley does I

:43:23. > :43:27.think it's because of his performance against Celtic last

:43:28. > :43:32.time. For me, he's not the goal-scorer Adam Rooney is. Yes, he

:43:33. > :43:36.may have performed OK but goals are vital. Adam Rooney is the go to man.

:43:37. > :43:41.He's what you look for in a number nine striker. He gets in the areas

:43:42. > :43:45.you want him to. Jayden Stockley doesn't have that about him. If that

:43:46. > :43:49.is confirmed it will be a surprise for me. It didn't take Rooney long

:43:50. > :43:58.to strike in the semifinal against Hibs. It was a disaster starting to

:43:59. > :44:02.Hibs. He took his goal really well. It was a really accomplished finish,

:44:03. > :44:08.that early on in the game. He was ready right from the whistle. It's a

:44:09. > :44:13.shock. The fact that he's not playing. Is that Derek McInnes

:44:14. > :44:15.thinking, I've just got to try something out of the ordinary,

:44:16. > :44:22.something that maybe most people aren't predicting? I think what he's

:44:23. > :44:27.doing is putting his football knowledge to the test. It's a big

:44:28. > :44:30.call, there's no doubt. For me, Adam Rooney would have been in the team.

:44:31. > :44:36.Obviously the manager is employed to make the calls. This is a huge

:44:37. > :44:40.stage. He's putting his neck on the line a bit. In terms of making that

:44:41. > :44:49.decision, if in fact but if the decision but that is what he's to

:44:50. > :44:53.do. To be means team news. -- two o'clock means team news. We're just

:44:54. > :44:58.an hour away from kick-off of the William Hill Scottish Cup final.

:44:59. > :45:08.We have the official teams. That Celtic side features McGregor, not

:45:09. > :45:14.Tom Rogic. Griffiths start, Dembele has made the bench. It is not a

:45:15. > :45:18.surprise. Griffiths has been in sparkling form. Dembele hasn't

:45:19. > :45:23.played. He probably won't wouldn't be match fit. If he is on the bench,

:45:24. > :45:27.he is a great player to bring on later. McGregor has had the

:45:28. > :45:32.sensational season, under Brendan Rodgers, he is a big favourite and

:45:33. > :45:37.he has had an impang in big games here at Hampden, there is no

:45:38. > :45:42.surprises for me. We were talking at the start, perhaps Derek McInnes had

:45:43. > :45:47.the one big decision to make. He has made two. Ryan Jack does start. He

:45:48. > :45:54.lost the captaincy in midweek. It will be his final game for Aberdeen.

:45:55. > :45:57.Rooney has been benched. He is their top goal scorer and he has been

:45:58. > :46:01.brought on to the bench, and Jayden Stockley replaces him. Now, this

:46:02. > :46:06.isn't the first time Derek McInnes has thrown a curve ball in this

:46:07. > :46:10.fixture. He started Burns earlier in the season. He was on loan in the

:46:11. > :46:14.first half of the campaign. He started Stockley the last time

:46:15. > :46:20.Aberdeen faced Celtic. They lost 3-1. Played well for 80 minute, he

:46:21. > :46:23.is going for the direct approach. Without a doubt Stoch caused them

:46:24. > :46:29.problems. He has a physical presence. I am surprised by Jack

:46:30. > :46:32.coming into the team. I don't understand the psychology of

:46:33. > :46:37.stripping him of the captaincy, a game of such importance, for him

:46:38. > :46:43.coming into the team. Rooney is goal scorer. It's a big goal to take your

:46:44. > :46:49.main goal scorer out of the team. Stockley will give a big physical

:46:50. > :46:56.presence. They will have the pace of Hayes and McGinn.

:46:57. > :47:00.McClean scored a volley in training and had his team-mates applauding.

:47:01. > :47:05.That will be a first! Less than an hour to kick off. No less than three

:47:06. > :47:10.of the Aberdeen players played for the last game in. What an afternoon

:47:11. > :47:13.this could be. Thank you. What a bold decision for Derek McInnes,

:47:14. > :47:17.here he is in conversation on the pitch with Jayden Stockley, the man

:47:18. > :47:23.who comes in today for number nine Rooney, he will lead the attack for

:47:24. > :47:26.Aberdeen against Celtic in this Scottish Cup Final, and well, the

:47:27. > :47:31.Aberdeen fans will be taking onboard that information as we speak about

:47:32. > :47:35.it, as well, and my feeling I think was pretty much the feeling you were

:47:36. > :47:39.voicing there, which is yes, he can be a menace to play against for the

:47:40. > :47:43.Celtic defence but if he gets a chance, will he score the goal? Yes,

:47:44. > :47:47.I mean, I think about it from Celtic's perspective, they are in

:47:48. > :47:53.the changing room and think see Rooney is not play, they will be

:47:54. > :47:56.happy with that. Yes Jayden Stockley has a more physical presence, he is

:47:57. > :47:59.probably better in the air, but I think there is other ways you are

:48:00. > :48:03.talking to Willie before about is Derek McInnes just trying to do

:48:04. > :48:09.something that is unexpected to be different? Different? There is many

:48:10. > :48:13.things you can do, alter the shape but for me when you have number nine

:48:14. > :48:17.main guy striker you don't drop him in a Cup Final, you have him up

:48:18. > :48:22.there as the target man, the guy that will score you goals. You saw

:48:23. > :48:26.it in the semifinal. Semifinal. Rooney will get you a goal. It is is

:48:27. > :48:34.a big call and a big surprise for me. So the news headlines, Jack

:48:35. > :48:36.plays alongside Shinnie, it is Stockley for Rooney up front,

:48:37. > :48:41.Griffiths starts for Celtic, Dembele on the bench and in the midfield

:48:42. > :48:46.area it is McGregor and Armstrong who have the nod. Rogic doesn't make

:48:47. > :48:49.the starting 11. Christie has played for both Celtic and Aberdeen this

:48:50. > :48:52.season, loaned out to the dons for the second half of the campaign, so

:48:53. > :48:56.he can't feature for either today. That is why he is currently on

:48:57. > :48:59.holiday in Florida, where it is probably cooler than this this,

:49:00. > :49:03.rather than wrestling with his emotions here, before he left he

:49:04. > :49:16.gave us inside information as a man with a foot in both Camps.

:49:17. > :49:30.Yty. That is brilliant. Outstanding piece of finishing by the onloan

:49:31. > :49:38.Celtic player. Faces eest player is Jonny Hayes, when he gets up to 40,

:49:39. > :49:43.50 yards he is incredible. Celtic, there is a few Forrest is up

:49:44. > :49:52.there. He has a very good turn of pace. Roberts as well. I would say

:49:53. > :49:58.either one of them two. Skillful at Aberdeen, I would say

:49:59. > :50:01.McGinn. Think in training when sometimes he stands there, you don't

:50:02. > :50:10.know what skill he will pull out on you.

:50:11. > :50:15.Celtic, I will say, a tough one Sinclair I'll say, just because the

:50:16. > :50:22.same situation, it's frightening when he has the ball at his feet.

:50:23. > :50:26.The worst dressed. At Aberdeen I would say Adam Rooney, he is this

:50:27. > :50:32.changing room and every day I kind of see him walk in to the changing

:50:33. > :50:39.room, with a question what went through his head hen he went into

:50:40. > :50:46.the cupboard. Celtic, it will say Sviatchenko. He comes in shirt tie,

:50:47. > :50:52.blazer which is, a bit too smart for some of the most Carayol boys. There

:50:53. > :50:55.is a few on the field at Aberdeen. Rooney if you don't pass him the

:50:56. > :51:02.ball, you haven't done the right thing. At Celtic the same, there

:51:03. > :51:06.Griffiths there is a common theme of triker, if you don't give them the

:51:07. > :51:11.ball they will not be happy. Aberdeen. Taylor without a doubt,

:51:12. > :51:15.probably the most built man I have seen in football. Incredible the

:51:16. > :51:18.body strength he has. At Celtic I would have to say Scott Browne

:51:19. > :51:24.because he is not going to pull out of it.

:51:25. > :51:32.Aberdeen, Reynolds, he is up to something in the changing room.

:51:33. > :51:36.Messing with somebody's gear, Celtic, Lustig, he is similar, he is

:51:37. > :51:43.always up to something, you can never quite trust him. I haven't

:51:44. > :51:47.seen many from Aberdeen. I heard Patrick Roberts sing when he came to

:51:48. > :51:53.Celtic, he threw in a bit of R B which was a bit strange coming from

:51:54. > :52:01.him. Both times I had to sing a Song, I

:52:02. > :52:06.sung the same one. I sung can't keep Keep My Eyes After You. It is a

:52:07. > :52:11.strange one but it is quick so I am up and back down.

:52:12. > :52:19.# I love you baby # I love you baby

:52:20. > :52:23.# If I's quite all right... # Strange day for him. He is probably

:52:24. > :52:27.in Florida, could have played for either team, ends up playing for

:52:28. > :52:33.neither. Found himself in a very difficult position, you know, we had

:52:34. > :52:35.a similar position at, ourselves last year, with, whether Liam

:52:36. > :52:39.Henderson was going to play if Celtic got to the final. It is a

:52:40. > :52:43.tough one, going out in the semifinal, and performing, but even

:52:44. > :52:46.knowing that no matter what happens he doesn't want to play in the

:52:47. > :52:51.final. Mixed emotions but that is probably why he has got himself

:52:52. > :52:55.away. He was raising questions about Rooney and his dress sense, that is

:52:56. > :52:59.the least of his worries and problems. He will be devastated to

:53:00. > :53:03.be left out of this. He must be. It is a huging on casing, the pinnacle

:53:04. > :53:08.of the season, I think that Derek McInnes would have had to worked

:53:09. > :53:13.very hard with Adam, to you know, convince him that his decision was

:53:14. > :53:20.right and playing Stockley ahead of him, and he, the reasons why. You

:53:21. > :53:26.know, I think, I think maybe players take it too easy, you know, in the

:53:27. > :53:30.modern day but when you were used to playing and you know your best team.

:53:31. > :53:34.I believe that Adam Rooney in the team is the best team so it is a big

:53:35. > :53:38.call from the manager. Rooney must be really disappointed but you know

:53:39. > :53:43.what, I am sure Derek McInnes will be saying you still have a big part

:53:44. > :53:47.to play in this Cup Final. I don't think Stockley will stay on for the

:53:48. > :53:52.whole game. I am sure Rooney will come on at some point. We mentioned

:53:53. > :53:58.Celtic's reaction to Rooney not being in the starting XI for the

:53:59. > :54:04.Aberdeen side. Will Aberdeen be relieved that Tom is not involved? I

:54:05. > :54:11.don't think they would have expected Rogic to be in the side. He picked

:54:12. > :54:15.up that bad injury. He has had too many happy days in Aberdeen. You

:54:16. > :54:18.look at McGregor and the goals he scored in big games, he has come on

:54:19. > :54:22.to real form in the second half of the season s and I think you know,

:54:23. > :54:25.the way that Brendan Rodgers has spoken about McGregor as well, there

:54:26. > :54:30.was no doubt he wasn't going to be starting this game. As said in big

:54:31. > :54:34.games McGregor has come up with big goals, so yes Rogic has had good

:54:35. > :54:38.form against Aberdeen but McGregor is somebody they will have to keep

:54:39. > :54:40.an eye on as well. Surprising that McGregor wasn't named in the

:54:41. > :54:47.Scotland squad for the England game. Scotland squad for the England game.

:54:48. > :54:53.. We have been rewinding the game in poetic fashion. Liam is our man of

:54:54. > :54:55.words. Here he reflects on the romantic team of Bony Rig can be

:54:56. > :55:06.rose. Bony rig, rose to the challenge,

:55:07. > :55:10.scored 30 goals on the road to Hampden, Echeverria if one more game

:55:11. > :55:18.was all they could manage they had a wee bit of history to brandish.

:55:19. > :55:23.141 years old. Three cups, it is like he is 11 men inside. But he

:55:24. > :55:28.rose to the challenge. Scored 31 goals on the road to Hampden. The

:55:29. > :55:37.Hibs scored one. Then two. Then three. Then four! Then five. Then

:55:38. > :55:42.six. Then seven, then eight. It is not about how many times you lose,

:55:43. > :55:47.it is about the small ways you can claim smaller victories like out of

:55:48. > :55:52.the box shot or eh getting their name in history books our Elgin

:55:53. > :55:54.getting Inverness's Derby day delayed because there is more fans

:55:55. > :56:05.on the way. His soul is leopard print. He takes

:56:06. > :56:11.camera left but a spotlight. That is what he gets.

:56:12. > :56:17.Hibs -- Hibs lips are dry, Hearts are pounding, don't you just know

:56:18. > :56:24.Raith Rovers or Heart of Midlothian. Raith Rovers or Heart of Midlothian.

:56:25. > :56:35.. Co-on stubs Stubbs, let me know. We will have an Edinburgh Derby in

:56:36. > :56:41.the fifth round. Shinnie. Aberdeen's acting shy. Looking for an answer.

:56:42. > :56:49.Come on staggy, let's spend the fifth round together.

:56:50. > :56:52.It found its way in. Aberdeen into the quarterfinal of the William Hill

:56:53. > :56:58.Scottish Cup. Hit happened plunges like a swan,

:56:59. > :57:07.bobbing for apples. He bellows, realises he has picked his team and

:57:08. > :57:17.says if if you want it easy, come on Stubbsy let me know. What a finish

:57:18. > :57:22.by the captain. Hamilton's Matthews saving three

:57:23. > :57:38.penalties is exactly as good as a riff from do You Think I'm Sexy.

:57:39. > :57:43.# If you really need me... # Rod Stewart seemed relaxed for that

:57:44. > :57:50.draw? He was in good form. He was great. You know, obviously he is a

:57:51. > :57:55.personality but on that day he just seemed to have an added influence.

:57:56. > :58:01.He did seem to have an influence on a memorable day. Let us hear, we

:58:02. > :58:04.have had the team news of course, fromer for both. Let us have an

:58:05. > :58:09.interview with Brendan Rodgers and Chris is talking to him.

:58:10. > :58:14.Brendan, let us start with the team news. Griffith starts Dembele is on

:58:15. > :58:19.the bench. Is that based on match fitness or merit? Well, a bit of

:58:20. > :58:25.everything really. I think it is April 27th Moussa has been out. He

:58:26. > :58:28.has done great to come back and make himself available having had the

:58:29. > :58:33.hamstring injury. The team is in a good moment. It is fluent, playing

:58:34. > :58:41.well. Lee is scoring goals, so there is no need for me to change it. But

:58:42. > :58:47.delighted that the likes of Moussa is back, Rogic is back. So gives a

:58:48. > :58:51.strong bench if we need it. Sum up what this would mean to you in this

:58:52. > :58:57.club, to complete the domestic treble? Yes, of course it's huge,

:58:58. > :59:04.but we have tried not to think about that. We can speak about it after,

:59:05. > :59:08.if it takes place, but Celtic has a great record in this competition, we

:59:09. > :59:12.want to honour that tradition of winning the Scottish Cup. It is a

:59:13. > :59:17.fantastic and historical competition, you know, the Scottish

:59:18. > :59:20.FA Cup is a wonderful tournament, and obviously, of course, we want to

:59:21. > :59:25.finish the last game of the season and it would mark a fantastic season

:59:26. > :59:34.for us. Brendan, thank you. Good luck. We will hear more from him

:59:35. > :59:38.later, Celtic against Aberdeen, the Scottish Cup Final. Celtic aiming

:59:39. > :59:43.for the treble live on the BBC. Brendan there spoke about the bench

:59:44. > :59:47.and that is a significant thing, because I was looking at Adam

:59:48. > :59:53.Rooney, he could play a big part in reserve but when you look at Celtic,

:59:54. > :59:56.Dembele, Rogic, Forrest there, all three could be involved, could be

:59:57. > :00:01.instrumental in deciding who wins this. When you look at the bench, he

:00:02. > :00:05.has Game Changers on the bench. As well adds in the starting XI he has

:00:06. > :00:11.them on the bench. If he needs to. It is a really strong bench. Dembele

:00:12. > :00:15.being fit for the game is a huge shot in the arm for them. But he

:00:16. > :00:17.obviously felt that he just probably wasn't right to start the game. That

:00:18. > :00:25.is why Lee starts. There's something psychologically

:00:26. > :00:29.boosting the Celtic having Moussa Dembele waiting in the wings. You

:00:30. > :00:33.have a top-quality striker who looked as though he wasn't going to

:00:34. > :00:37.take part, who all of a sudden has declared himself fit. To have him on

:00:38. > :00:45.the bench is a huge bonus for Brendan Rodgers. Leigh Griffiths is

:00:46. > :00:49.a fabulous player, but if it's not happening for him, if it's not

:00:50. > :00:53.working, he turned to the bench and you've got this goal machine sitting

:00:54. > :00:58.on the bench. It's a fabulous position to be in. Having Dembele on

:00:59. > :01:01.the bench, Leigh Griffiths will be aware of that. Leigh Griffiths has

:01:02. > :01:05.done very well coming into the side but he will know Dembele is sitting

:01:06. > :01:08.on the bench, and if he doesn't come up with the game he needs to play,

:01:09. > :01:20.then I'm sure Brendan Rodgers when think twice. He could put the two of

:01:21. > :01:26.them on. It's not a straight swap. He's done it before. If Aberdeen

:01:27. > :01:34.fans are worried about the teams, it's not showing at the moment, as

:01:35. > :01:43.we look at the Dons supporters arriving outside. I'm going to say

:01:44. > :01:56.2-1 Aberdeen. 2-1 after extra time. Hopefully it'll be a good

:01:57. > :02:07.atmosphere. 2-1 to the Dons. 2-1 Aberdeen. 10-0. I'm not going to be

:02:08. > :02:14.so confident, I'll say 2-1 Aberdeen. Go the Dons! I'm not sure about Adam

:02:15. > :02:19.Rooney first scorer now that we know the team news. The question was, who

:02:20. > :02:23.could we get to interview Scott Brown about his ten years at Celtic.

:02:24. > :02:28.Hopefully someone with relevance and credibility. We couldn't quite

:02:29. > :02:29.manage that but his former Hibs team-mate Michael Stewart stepped up

:02:30. > :02:52.to the plate. The most influential player in

:02:53. > :02:58.Scotland, Brendan Rodgers came out with a couple of weeks ago. Did that

:02:59. > :03:03.sit well with you? It was a nice read. For me it's different this

:03:04. > :03:08.season compared to last season, due to injuries. The manager has taken

:03:09. > :03:11.my game up a level and you're thinking of different ways to play

:03:12. > :03:17.different structures. It was great to learn and see what he wants to do

:03:18. > :03:21.for Celtic. I jumped in right away, I understood what he wanted to do.

:03:22. > :03:28.That's the way I wanted to play as well, high up the park. Here you go

:03:29. > :03:33.with Mr Strachan when you were getting paraded when you signed. Ten

:03:34. > :03:37.years at Celtic is a long time, going back to when you joined,

:03:38. > :03:42.you've evolved and changed so much as a player. How big an influence

:03:43. > :03:46.was Gordon and what did he say to change you as a player? He brought

:03:47. > :03:50.maturity to my game. He said he wanted to build the team around

:03:51. > :03:56.myself and a few other ones. He sees me more as a defensive midfielder.

:03:57. > :04:02.Get the ball back and keep it simple. It was great for me. My

:04:03. > :04:10.confidence went sky high, then you played in a Champions League game

:04:11. > :04:18.I've ended up in behind the strikers I've ended up in behind the strikers

:04:19. > :04:23.! Half-time came and he looked at me and said, what are you doing? I

:04:24. > :04:32.thought, I've done all right here! He said, playwright midfield. For me

:04:33. > :04:38.I just didn't understand, it was a huge learning curve in the first

:04:39. > :04:41.season. In training there were claims everywhere in the middle of

:04:42. > :04:49.the park. It was just understanding where to play. How did that one go

:04:50. > :04:53.down when you sign for them? Quite well, to be fair. Went up to win the

:04:54. > :05:00.ball and obviously upper body strength is a lot better than his.

:05:01. > :05:07.He was off balance and fell over but ended up sticking his leg into my

:05:08. > :05:10.chest. He got a straight red, came in, signed, was sitting in the

:05:11. > :05:19.training room in the first couple of days. He was being -- I was chatting

:05:20. > :05:26.being chirpy. I said, you getting sent off against me, he said, you

:05:27. > :05:35.dived! He chased me about in training for about 45 minutes. I

:05:36. > :05:42.wasn't going to touch the ball. You're all mate, you have the ball!

:05:43. > :05:45.LAUGHTER The back-end of last season, thinking about your future

:05:46. > :05:49.at the club, was there any point when you were thinking, I need to

:05:50. > :05:53.get out of here? I thought my playing career was coming to an end.

:05:54. > :05:59.It was one injury after another. It was a hard season for me. Gordon

:06:00. > :06:03.came to my house and said, how are you feeling? I said, my legs have

:06:04. > :06:09.totally gone the season. I wasn't feeling myself. He said, I see that.

:06:10. > :06:15.He said, everyone sees that. How are you going to fix it? What are you

:06:16. > :06:19.going to do. He said, go out there and prove everyone wrong. I had to

:06:20. > :06:23.go out and change a lot of things, try and get myself as fit as

:06:24. > :06:28.possible, maintain that level. Since the manager has come in I've done

:06:29. > :06:32.that. You got a good relationship with Brendan Rodgers, haven't you? A

:06:33. > :06:37.great relationship. He puts a lot of trust and faith in me. The training

:06:38. > :06:49.he's given us throughout this whole season, he's made everyone fitter

:06:50. > :06:52.and better. You talked about the internationals, you've come back, a

:06:53. > :06:59.U-turn, what was going through your head? We've spoken about your

:07:00. > :07:03.relationship with Gordon, that was pivotal. I had a great pre-season,

:07:04. > :07:07.through the Champions League and we got into the Champions League. I was

:07:08. > :07:12.feeling proper good about myself, I was as fit as I probably been for a

:07:13. > :07:18.long time. We had a chat... It was you that drove it? It was me. I love

:07:19. > :07:22.playing in Scotland. At the time I was captain of Scotland, I was sad I

:07:23. > :07:27.had to give that up. It's the first selfish thing I've probably done in

:07:28. > :07:30.football and it was the best decision I've probably made. This

:07:31. > :07:36.season everybody recognises the transformation has been massive. Are

:07:37. > :07:40.you annoyed you've not got a Player of the Year nomination? Or is it

:07:41. > :07:46.just because everybody hates you?! It's probably a bit of both! I don't

:07:47. > :07:50.like getting beat. I demand a lot of other people and people demand a lot

:07:51. > :07:54.from me as well. They might think I'm arrogant on the park but that's

:07:55. > :07:59.just me, I want to win games. I want to do the best I possibly can for

:08:00. > :08:05.myself and for Celtic as well. If I'm part of it that's great, if not,

:08:06. > :08:07.we've got team of the year. How does this current side compare with the

:08:08. > :08:14.teams you've had over your ten years? Looking wise? LAUGHTER We

:08:15. > :08:17.probably aren't the best looking bunch I've ever played with.

:08:18. > :08:23.Footballing wise, it's been a death of fresh air. This season is the

:08:24. > :08:31.best I've probably played in the whole of my career. Some things will

:08:32. > :08:37.never change. Story of my life! You've got a few years left, do you

:08:38. > :08:41.see them at Celtic? Yes, I want to finish my career at Celtic. I love

:08:42. > :08:45.the place and for the last ten years it's been phenomenal. It's been a

:08:46. > :08:51.great experience and here's hoping I can finish my career here and Gordon

:08:52. > :08:55.Strachan says I can play the 14th! So if they give me another 80 deal

:08:56. > :09:01.it would be much appreciated! LAUGHTER The only goal I'd score

:09:02. > :09:07.that's probably been worthwhile! What was said, nothing or just a

:09:08. > :09:11.stair? Nothing whatsoever! The Cup final, you win this, the treble, a

:09:12. > :09:15.bit of pressure on your shoulders. There's always pressure on our

:09:16. > :09:20.shoulders. The expectation level at Celtic is to win every game, every

:09:21. > :09:24.cup, every league. This is the closest we've been so far, it's what

:09:25. > :09:32.we wanted to do, ever since I signed for Celtic and this is the best

:09:33. > :09:37.opportunity we have to do it. STUDIO: That was a great interview

:09:38. > :09:51.but the most intriguing thing for me was that key -- keepy-up sequence.

:09:52. > :09:56.For some people, Scott Brown is misunderstood. Probably. You heard

:09:57. > :10:01.him saying that he was a demanding person. He's quite mouthy as well. I

:10:02. > :10:05.think that filters through and people get the wrong perception. You

:10:06. > :10:10.ask anybody who has dealt with him in a changing room, he's such a good

:10:11. > :10:15.character, he's a genuine leader. He's got a great way about him. He

:10:16. > :10:25.likes a laugh and a joke but when it comes to the football, very serious

:10:26. > :10:27.and wants to win. Jayden Stockley starts up front for Aberdeen today,

:10:28. > :10:30.in preference to Adam Rooney. Ryan Jack starts with the Dons as well.

:10:31. > :10:33.Let's hear from Derek McInnes. I'm going to start with the obvious,

:10:34. > :10:38.Stockley and Rooney on the bench, what you're thinking there? I felt

:10:39. > :10:43.in the last game, Jayden Stockley imposed himself on the centre-backs,

:10:44. > :10:46.allowed us to get up the pitch and get our midfield on the side of

:10:47. > :10:52.their midfield a bit quicker. I think he occupies defenders a lot

:10:53. > :10:57.more. And played the last final here and he was too detached, we never

:10:58. > :11:01.got bodies close enough to him. I think that in the last game at the

:11:02. > :11:06.Pittodrie Stadium, it was probably the most effective we've been in

:11:07. > :11:13.terms of attacking play. I think Jayden had upon to play. He was in

:11:14. > :11:18.pivotal in everything, he missed a chance and he was in a lot of the

:11:19. > :11:21.right areas a lot of the time. His presence hopefully will help us gain

:11:22. > :11:27.some territory and help us to play the game more in their half of the

:11:28. > :11:31.pitch. Celtic are excellent in both attacking and defending and in our

:11:32. > :11:35.half of the pitch and their half of the pitch. It's important to try and

:11:36. > :11:41.pass that pressure at the right time. Hopefully Jayden will have a

:11:42. > :11:49.positive influence, but we've picked a team we feel can win. Thank you,

:11:50. > :11:53.good luck. We'll hear from Derek McInnes in more detail before

:11:54. > :11:58.kick-off. Ryan Jack starts for the Dons. Jayden Stockley as well. What

:11:59. > :12:05.a day in the rain at hand Hampden Park, that young man taking the

:12:06. > :12:10.place of Adam Rooney in attack. How was that explanation? Pretty much as

:12:11. > :12:14.I thought. He's looking back on the last game against Celtic at the

:12:15. > :12:19.Pittodrie Stadium. There's no doubt Stockley is a big target man. Rooney

:12:20. > :12:27.is and, he isn't the type of player whose more mobile. Stockley took

:12:28. > :12:31.care of both centre-backs, they both struggle to cope with him on the

:12:32. > :12:35.night. I think Derek knows against Celtic that they haven't done enough

:12:36. > :12:43.in the Celtic final third. He needs to get up there a bit quicker. He

:12:44. > :12:48.explained it all entirely how I thought he was thinking. For me,

:12:49. > :12:55.you've got two guys in their crew would put the fear into the Celtic

:12:56. > :12:59.defence. If you play them in a position, not write up top but in

:13:00. > :13:08.behind the midfield, they can be your release. If you slide balls

:13:09. > :13:12.into McGinn and Hayes, they can go and attack the Celtic backline and

:13:13. > :13:16.then you can get your team further up the Park. You still have Adam

:13:17. > :13:21.Rooney who's there to capitalise on the chances that can be made. We

:13:22. > :13:26.interrupted our conversation that talking about Derek McInnes. We were

:13:27. > :13:29.on the topic of Scott Brown and Brendan Rodgers and what a

:13:30. > :13:36.partnership that has been this season. Here they are the other

:13:37. > :13:42.night when Celtic won with style. They have plenty to say to each

:13:43. > :13:45.other and it's obviously a key relationship. I think whenever

:13:46. > :13:50.you've got a group of players, you need your go to man. I think in

:13:51. > :13:54.terms of a manager and a captain, they have to have a really good

:13:55. > :13:58.Bond, to be able to get the points you want to get across the players,

:13:59. > :14:03.through him. You don't always want to be that voice of the manager.

:14:04. > :14:07.Sometimes you want it to come from the players, especially the captain,

:14:08. > :14:11.rather than hearing the manager's voice all the time. Brendan would

:14:12. > :14:16.have leaned dons got to do a lot of that this season. There is always

:14:17. > :14:22.either a word of well done or, will move onto the next game. He likes to

:14:23. > :14:27.set targets, Brendan. If you think back to the start of the season, all

:14:28. > :14:30.the chat was that Scott Brown was finished and Brendan Rodgers was

:14:31. > :14:34.going to move him out. When I spoke to Scott he said he met him in

:14:35. > :14:38.London early on before going to training and straightaway he knew

:14:39. > :14:44.this was a guy he was going to get a relationship with. Scott said we all

:14:45. > :14:48.feel fit and strong this season, they probably aren't that fitter

:14:49. > :14:52.than last season but psychologically they feel as if they are five yards

:14:53. > :14:53.quicker, so much stronger physically. That is what a good

:14:54. > :15:05.manager does. Now he is talking as if he might

:15:06. > :15:09.play till his 40. Alasdair Strokosch said he wouldn't play -- Gordon

:15:10. > :15:13.Strachan said he wouldn't play until he was 40. Scott Browne,

:15:14. > :15:18.misunderstood, think opposition fans don't like him because he is good.

:15:19. > :15:20.He is a winner. By the way it is not a popularity contest, when you are

:15:21. > :15:24.out there, you are out there to win. Who cares at the end of day, if you

:15:25. > :15:28.are popular or not with the opposition fan, as long as you are

:15:29. > :15:33.popular with your home fans. What he wants to do is lift that piece of

:15:34. > :15:36.silver wear that was with us earlier, the Scottish Cup Final

:15:37. > :15:41.Celtic against Aberdeen and we are just about half an hour from kick

:15:42. > :15:45.off. Let us have one last helping of our Cup Final poet who has been

:15:46. > :15:48.retelling the story of the competition. We are talking prematch

:15:49. > :15:55.rituals and the part played by superstition.

:15:56. > :16:00.If we are no winning at half-time, it's because he hasn't shaved. His

:16:01. > :16:04.magic Trings have saves us more than once. I imagine the manager in the

:16:05. > :16:09.dressing room on the phone to my stepmum saying get him in the

:16:10. > :16:14.bathroom now. She makes us a cup of tea. Brings through biscuits and dad

:16:15. > :16:22.Parretts the patter he has held on to. St Mirren is the best team

:16:23. > :16:31.Celtic have played this season. Why do I always come back? There must be

:16:32. > :16:37.a reason. At last Celtic are level. In the space a minute Celtic have

:16:38. > :16:45.turned this game on its head. Did you see Rangers hammer Hamilton?

:16:46. > :16:55.Can he get a hat-trick? He can't. Aye. McGregor, the opening goal of

:16:56. > :16:59.the second semifinal. Hibs getting Aberdeen, only took them 12 seconds

:17:00. > :17:03.to take lead. In the opening minute and that is an unbelievable start

:17:04. > :17:08.for the Dons. He shoots, McGregor takes a knee.

:17:09. > :17:18.It is ambitious but deflected into the net! Net! And in every village

:17:19. > :17:24.and every town and every city stories the same. An alien would

:17:25. > :17:29.find it strange the chant and the dance with the paints faces saying

:17:30. > :17:35.us when they mean 11 men, what is a week and why is it so important when

:17:36. > :17:39.it end? Dad leans back on the couch. He come poetses his text. Good

:17:40. > :17:44.morning boys and girls what's crack. Hampden is bathed in sunshine, you

:17:45. > :17:50.would think it was set for a party. It is line Spain, minus the

:17:51. > :17:59.flip-flops. Keep you updated. Now, now, Celtic, Aberdeen.

:18:00. > :18:02.That has been great. Liam's build up to this big match and of course the

:18:03. > :18:06.road to Hampden which is a traditional part of the Cup Final

:18:07. > :18:11.coverage. The Celtic fanses were in good voice on Thursday night at the

:18:12. > :18:17.Glasgow hydroas they celebrated the 50th anniversary of Lisbon 1967. Let

:18:18. > :18:23.us find out what they are saying prematch here. Scott Brown is going

:18:24. > :18:32.to score first. Score any time of day. 2-1. He thinks 3-0. 3-1 to

:18:33. > :18:41.Celtic. Come on The Hoops. Come on The Hoops. Hopefully maybe 3-0. You

:18:42. > :18:45.are confident then? Definitely. 4-0. Griffiths, Dembele. McGregor, I

:18:46. > :18:51.would like to see score a goal today. A few, aye, I think we will

:18:52. > :18:59.do well. Come on Celtic! I think we just about heard that. Optimistic

:19:00. > :19:03.and why not going into the big match, the invincible. Can they do

:19:04. > :19:07.the treble? We have heard about Derek McInnes about the team, let us

:19:08. > :19:14.listen to him in more detail. I sat down with him the dug out. A chance

:19:15. > :19:20.for McClean. Aberdeen are turning it on. I love watching my player, I

:19:21. > :19:25.don't get nervous when I watch my team. I I look forward to 3.00 on

:19:26. > :19:35.Saturday. That is an unbelievable start for the Dons. We played a lot

:19:36. > :19:39.of big games, meaningful games. Try to deliver training sessions and the

:19:40. > :19:45.way we are working, to enjoy it as a player. An outstanding late winner

:19:46. > :19:55.surely for Aberdeen. I quite like the thought that we are mixing it

:19:56. > :19:59.with Celtic. I think it is important that myself and the staff set the

:20:00. > :20:04.pace, really and we have. The way we are working is demanding on the

:20:05. > :20:12.players. Couldn't think of anything worse if

:20:13. > :20:16.there wasn't an expectation to be successful We were the bottom six,

:20:17. > :20:21.in a poor place, we weren't be respected. We were irrelevant as a

:20:22. > :20:26.club, we were living on history and I feel how we are prominent and we

:20:27. > :20:29.are a club that is expected to win more trophies in the time we are

:20:30. > :20:32.ear. So a third Cup Final in four year, we have won one, lost one, we

:20:33. > :20:51.know how that felt. Rogic on the edge of the box. A

:20:52. > :20:59.wonderful goal by Tom Rogic. Forrest attacking the box. This Cup Final

:21:00. > :21:04.may be won already. It is going to hark head. It was disappointmenting.

:21:05. > :21:10.It is a long way back up the road after this performance.

:21:11. > :21:14.Remining of the Cup Final, it was as if there was a fall out in the

:21:15. > :21:18.family and we have had to get results again, get the supporters to

:21:19. > :21:24.believe in us again. I think the players' response to losing that has

:21:25. > :21:28.been magnificent, you know, to go on a record winning home run in the

:21:29. > :21:34.last 25 years and going two or three good spells has gone a long way, I

:21:35. > :21:37.think, to showing that we are not as bad has the team that played in the

:21:38. > :21:42.cup fine. Are you sure that won't happen again? As sure as we can be.

:21:43. > :21:48.It was a shock to me, how we played. You know. But, you know, Sir Alex

:21:49. > :21:53.spoke to me after the game. He phone add few days later, he spoke about

:21:54. > :21:57.how I think he had lost 11 Cup Finals as a manager. A lot of people

:21:58. > :22:02.wouldn't have realised that. It is only by revisiting them and getting

:22:03. > :22:07.yourself familiarised with the whole day, and the whole situation and the

:22:08. > :22:11.intensity of the whole day, you start to become at home within that,

:22:12. > :22:15.we have to respect opponent and the point can do that to any team in

:22:16. > :22:19.Scotland. What we need to try and do is make sure that anything Celtic do

:22:20. > :22:24.get, they will have to earn that and work for it. We have to try and deny

:22:25. > :22:29.space, deny they are better players touches of ball. We will have to

:22:30. > :22:34.become forward and be aggressive. We have to make sure how we respond to,

:22:35. > :22:40.if we go behind, are we going to accept that is it? We will show we

:22:41. > :22:44.are more than that and we have to show ael determination and attitude,

:22:45. > :22:49.that we believe the trophy is coming back to Aberdeen. Big moment. Huge

:22:50. > :22:56.goal from Jonny Hayes, it is Aberdeen who go in front.

:22:57. > :23:00.When Rangers were promoted people felt we would be pushed aside to get

:23:01. > :23:05.to a second Cup Final and be the only team that can stop Celtic now,

:23:06. > :23:13.winning all three trophy, that pleases me, it is us. That is is a

:23:14. > :23:19.brilliant ball. McGee has put Aberdeen into the lead. The Scottish

:23:20. > :23:23.Cup is seen as a special trophy for Aberdeen. It was synonymous with

:23:24. > :23:28.successful periods within the club's history. I want that for my players.

:23:29. > :23:34.It would be some achieve to beat Celtic and bring the Scottish Cup

:23:35. > :23:39.here for the first time since 1990. Celtic have top players but we can

:23:40. > :23:41.beat them. Holding on to that real belief and confidence, if we can

:23:42. > :23:46.achieve that. I can't give them the medal. I would love to put it in

:23:47. > :23:50.their hand and walk back in dressing room and look at them and all have

:23:51. > :23:55.winners' medals in their hands. It is important we see the bigger

:23:56. > :24:03.picture. We want to try and be the best team in the Cup Final and the

:24:04. > :24:07.winning team. What an impact he has had in his

:24:08. > :24:13.time at Aberdeen. He has improved them year on year, that takes some

:24:14. > :24:18.doing, that is for sure. Big days, big decisions as well for Tony

:24:19. > :24:21.Doherty alongside Derek McInnes with Jayden Stockley a starter and Adam

:24:22. > :24:26.Rooney left out of the starting line up. The Aberdeen fans I guess will

:24:27. > :24:32.be wondering what part the League Cup Final will play in today's game.

:24:33. > :24:37.Has it drained Aberdeen's belief of getting the job done on the big

:24:38. > :24:41.occasion, or can they use this, Celtic's 3-0 win from the 27th

:24:42. > :24:45.November, 2016 as motivation, to get it right today? Simply they have to.

:24:46. > :24:51.You know, you listen to Derek there, I am sure they have spoken about it

:24:52. > :24:55.on many occasion, it is St no an occasion where you want want to put

:24:56. > :25:02.one side. They were hurting coming off park. The fans didn't enjoy it.

:25:03. > :25:05.They didn't turn up that was the most disappointing aspect of League

:25:06. > :25:09.Cup Final. We are talking about the two best teams in Scotland now.

:25:10. > :25:13.Aberdeen have got to go out and at least prove that they are the second

:25:14. > :25:16.best. And hope on day they can be the best team in Scotland. But they

:25:17. > :25:21.have to use that experience, absolutely. I have been there myself

:25:22. > :25:25.in losing Cup Final, you have to use that experience, you have to have

:25:26. > :25:30.that inner strength to make sure you perform. So much of this is

:25:31. > :25:35.psychological and is sorted out before the teams come on the pitch.

:25:36. > :25:43.You have to to be in the right state of mind. He spoke brilliantly well.

:25:44. > :25:46.I really do believe that you have to experience the disappointments here,

:25:47. > :25:50.before, and they make you stronger. I spoke about it with the Hibs team

:25:51. > :25:54.when we got beat. On the day I thought we were the better team but

:25:55. > :25:57.we made fundamental mistakes we cost us the result. I kept driving

:25:58. > :26:02.forward all the time, saying you have to learn from this experience.

:26:03. > :26:06.You have to be able to, when you go back next time you experience the

:26:07. > :26:12.jubilation of winning, and you can see Derek saying there, that yes, OK

:26:13. > :26:17.we haven't performed well but if we can perform to a certain level, he

:26:18. > :26:21.honestly believes he can beat Celtic. If you look at the two Cup

:26:22. > :26:24.Finals last year. There was fundamental mistake, you shot

:26:25. > :26:28.yourself in the foot at times. You think about the League Cup in

:26:29. > :26:35.November there, Celtic breaking on Aberdeen. They lost possession in

:26:36. > :26:38.areas where they were attacking, they got counters too Lesley. They

:26:39. > :26:42.have to recognise they can't do those things so when they get in

:26:43. > :26:46.those positions they have to be more clinical. This Celtic side are well

:26:47. > :26:51.capable of countering an putting the game out of sight. We have spoken

:26:52. > :26:56.about the significance of the Celtic captaincy and their relationship

:26:57. > :27:01.between Browne and Roger, we have spoken about Jack and Shinnie. That

:27:02. > :27:06.is key isn't it, and, that how Jack performs, what state of mine he is

:27:07. > :27:09.in as Graeme Shinnie leads the team out? Yes, this is a great

:27:10. > :27:15.opportunity for Ryan, a young player I know well, he has been at the club

:27:16. > :27:20.from age 12 all the way through, was a stand out. So if will is one

:27:21. > :27:23.person within the development programme that you would say is

:27:24. > :27:27.going to make it to the top, it was going to be Ryan Jack. He has made

:27:28. > :27:30.it there and been captain, I don't think he is a natural captain. You

:27:31. > :27:35.look at Graeme Shinnie, for me watching him on the, park, he looks

:27:36. > :27:38.like a natural captain. He looks like one who wants to take the

:27:39. > :27:43.responsibility and grows as a person, on the field. So that is why

:27:44. > :27:46.I don't think it is is a big deal. He has been sitting there waiting,

:27:47. > :27:50.he hasn't been waiting for his turn, this is his turn, he is another

:27:51. > :27:55.Aberdeen lad. He has the opportunity to go out and lift the trophy again.

:27:56. > :28:00.He has already lifted the trophy. I remember speaking to radio room on a

:28:01. > :28:03.last season and it was Shinnie's first year, he spoke about Shinnie

:28:04. > :28:08.being the main leader in the team, but he had only joined, he didn't ex

:28:09. > :28:15.pent him to get the captaincy. As the next captain. Captain. I do

:28:16. > :28:19.think taking the captaincy off Ryan Jack, I just, it was surprising for

:28:20. > :28:25.me when he is going to be a pivotal player in the game. Brendan Rodgers'

:28:26. > :28:29.first season in the game as manager has ripped up the domestic book, it

:28:30. > :28:39.could be treble time. # Out of the tree of life I pick me

:28:40. > :28:44.It felt like it was destiny It felt like it was destiny

:28:45. > :28:48.# You came along and everything started to hum. #

:28:49. > :28:50.club club

:28:51. > :28:53.# It's a real good bet # It's a real good bet

:28:54. > :28:57.# The best is yet to come # What we have done this year has been

:28:58. > :29:03.truly remarkable. I have really loved every minute of

:29:04. > :29:08.it. From the first day walking out. At Celtic Park, you know, I think

:29:09. > :29:13.the supporters showed their commitment to me then. By turning up

:29:14. > :29:18.and giving me that ovation on arrival. And from that point then, I

:29:19. > :29:24.knew that my commitment to them was to be the very best that could be,

:29:25. > :29:32.that I couldn't let them down. McGregor. It is 3-0. They have had

:29:33. > :29:37.enjoyment and I think they are proud of watching the team. I can see that

:29:38. > :29:41.on the faces, I can see that in the stand and that is something that

:29:42. > :29:45.makes me really happy. Most goals they have scored in a

:29:46. > :29:51.season. Most points they have attained in a season, their biggest

:29:52. > :29:57.title margin of victory. Celtic are invincible. I would suggest it is

:29:58. > :30:01.probablies a once in a lifetime achievement you only need to look at

:30:02. > :30:06.history, history tells you how difficult they are to achieve. With

:30:07. > :30:12.a hub like Celtic, the many great managers they have had here, so for

:30:13. > :30:15.us to do it we are in a privileged position, but we have earned the

:30:16. > :30:24.accolade. I don't think it should take away from the fact you can

:30:25. > :30:28.still improve. We might win one less trophy next year, we might lose some

:30:29. > :30:32.games but we might progress in the Champions League. That can be

:30:33. > :30:35.improvement. My focus is on improving everything in the club.

:30:36. > :30:41.What is fantastic is there a lot of growth here at Celtic. The longer I

:30:42. > :30:44.am here, the more I see, the more we can develop, and I can say that is

:30:45. > :30:49.the exciting part. It is just beginning.

:30:50. > :30:56.That's audacious. Another Moussa Dembele hat-trick. The players have

:30:57. > :31:02.been remarkable, what they've given to the season, the professionalism

:31:03. > :31:07.and focus, and quality. That self-improvement is there to see. It

:31:08. > :31:15.is a remarkable achievement to have gone through that period, and

:31:16. > :31:18.beaten. -- unbeaten. I'm not worried about my reputation, that's not the

:31:19. > :31:25.worry for me. My only worry at this moment is to do the best I can for

:31:26. > :31:29.Celtic. I've worked down south, I've worked in the Premier League, I've

:31:30. > :31:33.worked in the championship. I think everyone is pretty clear of the

:31:34. > :31:39.qualities I have, whether they are good or bad. This experience is a

:31:40. > :31:46.special experience for me. I'm not sure I'll ever get this again in my

:31:47. > :31:52.life, managing the club I've supported since I was a child,

:31:53. > :31:57.managing a club I was born into. It is Celtic's League Cup and it is an

:31:58. > :32:03.early silver lining to the Brendan Rodgers heiress. It was a really

:32:04. > :32:11.special occasion, of course. The supporters enjoyed it. It was more

:32:12. > :32:15.important that it was the club's 100 trophy and something tangible to

:32:16. > :32:25.show for the early part of the season. CHEERING

:32:26. > :32:28.A wonderful goal by Tom Rogic. We know it's going to be a really tough

:32:29. > :32:32.game against Aberdeen. We played them five times this season already.

:32:33. > :32:35.Even though we've had five victories, they'll come into the

:32:36. > :32:42.game exactly as you would expect. You want to win, and irrelevant of

:32:43. > :32:47.the performance, and we want to play well. We want to win the Cup and

:32:48. > :32:53.finish off what would be a glorious season for us. STUDIO: The vital

:32:54. > :33:15.statistics are mind boggling. Stillborn milestone to be achieved,

:33:16. > :33:22.he will hope, today. He wants the treble. Yes, I think this is the

:33:23. > :33:26.icing on the cake. They've had a fantastic season. They've been

:33:27. > :33:30.fantastic to watch, they've been entertaining. He's made a couple of

:33:31. > :33:37.additions to the team that have been a revelation. And now, you come to

:33:38. > :33:41.the final game of the season and he will want the team to keep doing

:33:42. > :33:45.what they've been doing in the previous nine months. Others have

:33:46. > :33:51.come into Scottish football and had a big impact. This has been pretty

:33:52. > :33:55.spectacular from Brendan Rodgers, hasn't it? Absolutely. If he does

:33:56. > :33:59.want today it will be magnificent, if he doesn't, it will still have

:34:00. > :34:03.been a fabulous first year for him. Taking some of the players we had

:34:04. > :34:07.questions about last season and turning them into this machine that

:34:08. > :34:11.just produces wins, even when they aren't playing well they'd find

:34:12. > :34:16.something to produce a win. He's made better players of them and he's

:34:17. > :34:20.made his mark. That is the hallmark of a good manager. There's been a

:34:21. > :34:27.couple of additions who have been revelations but on the whole, you're

:34:28. > :34:30.talking about a squad who really questioned last season, they didn't

:34:31. > :34:35.perform the way they should have. Brendan Rodgers has come in, taking

:34:36. > :34:39.them to a different level. There have been a couple of other players

:34:40. > :34:43.he's taken from the periphery to be mainstays in this team. As I said, I

:34:44. > :34:48.think that's the hallmark of how good a manager Brendan Rodgers is.

:34:49. > :34:51.His one player who's had the Brendan Rodgers treatment, Scott Sinclair

:34:52. > :34:56.who's been around quite a few clubs in England. His career was on the

:34:57. > :35:01.starter. To Glasgow, and this was his goal of the bench, his first

:35:02. > :35:06.goal at Tynecastle against Hearts. He's barely stopped scoring sense,

:35:07. > :35:11.or setting up goals as well. When you look at the additions, you look

:35:12. > :35:16.at Dembele who's had a great season. For me, Scott Sinclair has been the

:35:17. > :35:21.most important player. Not only as he scored goals, he's created, his

:35:22. > :35:25.flexibility within his game is fantastic. He'll make runs through

:35:26. > :35:29.the middle, he goes down the left, he cuts inside, ghost on the right.

:35:30. > :35:36.As a defender or as a team, to be able to adjust to that is very

:35:37. > :35:39.difficult. It's been big games he scored in. The flexibility he gives

:35:40. > :35:45.to the team. Celtic in possession, a lot of the time they rotate the tree

:35:46. > :35:48.at the back. Tierney pushes up to the left and it allows him to step

:35:49. > :35:53.up the line, it means it's difficult for opponents to pick up. I couldn't

:35:54. > :35:58.agree more that he's been a real top find. Not even a find, a top player.

:35:59. > :36:06.He's turned his career around. Brendan Rodgers has brought him to

:36:07. > :36:08.Celtic and I'm pretty sure he feels it's the best decision he's made.

:36:09. > :36:12.Talking about players he's relaunched, you could go through the

:36:13. > :36:18.entire line-up. I think individually he's improved every player. But, you

:36:19. > :36:21.know, another important aspect of any manager is taking individuals

:36:22. > :36:27.and blending them in to 18, and a team who know what they are doing. I

:36:28. > :36:30.haven't watched Celtic this season and had any thoughts that they

:36:31. > :36:36.didn't know exactly what they were doing. Last season, absolutely. This

:36:37. > :36:41.season, no. He's taken players, improved players, he's blended them

:36:42. > :36:47.into a fabulous side. Derek has done it as well. I know we are speaking

:36:48. > :36:51.about Brendan but Derek has done the same. He's improved his players

:36:52. > :36:56.season upon season. That's why they both deserve the credit. They've

:36:57. > :37:02.been fantastic. One key element in his team this season is Jonny Hayes.

:37:03. > :37:07.He broke the Celtic monopoly of the Player of the Year nominations for

:37:08. > :37:14.PFA Scotland. He broke into that and well-deserved too. He's got such a

:37:15. > :37:17.great attitude, Michael. This is intelligence. He recognises where

:37:18. > :37:21.the defenders are, gets on the end of the cross. He's got a great

:37:22. > :37:27.attitude. His work ethic is phenomenal. He couples it with real

:37:28. > :37:33.ability and he's so direct as well. Such a great finish. He's so direct.

:37:34. > :37:39.If you get into areas of the Park, he has got the potential to hurt

:37:40. > :37:42.Celtic. You don't want to him tracking back, chasing full-backs

:37:43. > :37:46.and ending up in the back himself. You want him in those areas in and

:37:47. > :37:52.around the box. He is capable of scoring goals and hurting Celtic.

:37:53. > :37:57.Aberdeen bon Jonny Hayes to be on Sun today. They also want Niall

:37:58. > :38:03.McGinn to go out in style and produce his best. There are two key

:38:04. > :38:08.players. Whenever I watch Aberdeen, if they have been influential, if

:38:09. > :38:13.they've been in the opposition half of the Park, if they are in and

:38:14. > :38:16.around the goal, they are going to create opportunities. Jonny Hayes

:38:17. > :38:24.with his directness, Niall McGinn with his intelligence. He just gets

:38:25. > :38:30.his shoulder and puts the cross into the box. These are two key players.

:38:31. > :38:33.You can't have Jonny Hayes and Niall McGinn tracking back. When you've

:38:34. > :38:37.got the ball these two have got to get themselves up the Park and cause

:38:38. > :38:42.problems for the Celtic full-backs. Let's face it, the Celtic full-backs

:38:43. > :38:49.don't have many problems to take care of during the season. They need

:38:50. > :38:53.a problem this afternoon. Look about, colourful and amazing

:38:54. > :38:57.pre-match at Hampden Park, with the Scottish Cup final just minutes

:38:58. > :39:01.away, Celtic against Aberdeen. Not a seat to be had. Aberdeen would love

:39:02. > :39:05.to think they can be asserted from the start, and impose themselves.

:39:06. > :39:11.That's easier said than done against Celtic. Celtic make you feel

:39:12. > :39:15.inferior because they've got those good players. That creates doubt

:39:16. > :39:20.amongst the players. That's why you see some teams who feel like they

:39:21. > :39:25.are always on the back that all the time. They need that belief and

:39:26. > :39:28.confidence to say, we are going to have a go at Celtic and try and put

:39:29. > :39:36.them under pressure. You just never know. You're talking about the

:39:37. > :39:40.teams, nobody has beaten Celtic this season and most teams are playing a

:39:41. > :39:43.containment game against Celtic. Celtic get into the rhythm, and

:39:44. > :39:48.eventually they are going to break you down. In a cup final you've got

:39:49. > :39:52.to take the risk. In the guys with Niall McGinn and Jonny Hayes,

:39:53. > :39:56.they've got two players capable of exploiting those areas down the

:39:57. > :39:59.centre halves, getting some penetration and putting balls into

:40:00. > :40:04.the box. Jayden Stockley may get on the end of it but I would rather

:40:05. > :40:09.have Adam Rooney in there. We are talking about Aberdeen going

:40:10. > :40:14.forward. What about Aberdeen defending. At times they've been

:40:15. > :40:18.very rocky at the back. They've got to be solid. The two centre-backs

:40:19. > :40:22.have got to make sure there are no errors today. You don't give

:40:23. > :40:26.anything to Celtic. It's going to be difficult enough out there feeling

:40:27. > :40:30.and coping with a team like Celtic. If you give them opportunities it is

:40:31. > :40:36.really impossible. I was part of a team that when we went out, we felt

:40:37. > :40:40.we were superior. And other teams were inferior. Aberdeen have an

:40:41. > :40:45.opportunity to show that they are a very good side to take on this

:40:46. > :40:49.partly superior Celtic side and overtake them. To do that this

:40:50. > :40:53.afternoon would be immense. It would be immense the Derek, the team and

:40:54. > :40:57.the city. I asked Brendan Rodgers if this final hurdle this season

:40:58. > :41:01.brought extra pressure and made this much more difficult. His answer is,

:41:02. > :41:06.we have that pressure week in, week out, gaming, game out, always

:41:07. > :41:11.expected to win. Brendan has given the players a huge amount of

:41:12. > :41:15.confidence and belief to go and play. You can tell that by their

:41:16. > :41:22.performances this season. Every one looks five times better than last

:41:23. > :41:29.season. That will be the same today. Aberdeen have got to put all of that

:41:30. > :41:33.out of the equation and go, our mindset is, we've got to play the

:41:34. > :41:36.best game we've played all season. We talked about captains, there's

:41:37. > :41:40.got to be 11 captains out there today. They've got to have 11

:41:41. > :41:44.performances above anything they've done this season in order to get a

:41:45. > :41:48.result. If they can do that, they can cause an upset. It's going to be

:41:49. > :41:53.difficult but they can cause an upset. Do you see it happening to

:41:54. > :41:57.Aberdeen, Michael? It's a long shot. There's no doubt Celtic are the

:41:58. > :42:02.favourites. It's football and anything can happen. You just never

:42:03. > :42:06.know, as Allen said. If you stick to the game plan, you get a slice of

:42:07. > :42:10.luck, something falls your way, you never know. That's what you've got

:42:11. > :42:17.to believe in. You've got to believe you got the chance and you can do

:42:18. > :42:21.it. There they are, the teams in the tunnel for this 2017 William Hill

:42:22. > :42:25.Scottish Cup final. Will it be a trouble for Brendan Rodgers and

:42:26. > :42:29.Celtic? Can Aberdeen land the Scottish Cup for the first time

:42:30. > :42:32.since 1990? You are about to find out in the company of our commentary

:42:33. > :42:43.team Steven Thompson and Liam McLeod. COMMENTATOR: It was a fairly

:42:44. > :42:45.forgettable final back in 1990, that memorable conclusion for Aberdeen

:42:46. > :42:54.when Brian Irving scored that decisive penalty. A chance to follow

:42:55. > :43:02.legends. Two clubs with a wonderful history. The invincible is against

:43:03. > :43:07.the Dons. It's been 15 years since the top two sides in Scotland met in

:43:08. > :43:13.Scottish football's showpiece. The first time these two clubs have gone

:43:14. > :43:19.head-to-head in a 27 years at this stage of the Scottish Cup. The

:43:20. > :43:23.inescapable spectre of the troubles it is tantalisingly close for this

:43:24. > :43:30.Celtic team. 47 domestic games have come and gone and they haven't lost

:43:31. > :43:34.one of them. Just one more, just the fourth time in their history, they

:43:35. > :43:39.will sweep all three of Scotland's's major trophies. Many believe that if

:43:40. > :43:44.that is to be stopped, Aberdeen are the only side capable of doing so

:43:45. > :43:51.right now. However, the five meetings this season have yielded

:43:52. > :43:58.five Celtic victories. So, a big afternoon for Mr Rogers and Derek

:43:59. > :44:06.McInnes. Graeme Shinnie has picked up the armband for the last game of

:44:07. > :44:13.the season. Ryan Jack will be the the parting stage left after this

:44:14. > :44:18.afternoon's showpiece. Moussa Dembele is back but he is on the

:44:19. > :44:21.bench for Celtic. Leigh Griffiths continues up front. Colin McGregor

:44:22. > :44:26.gets the Lords having score that wonderful opener against Rangers in

:44:27. > :44:30.the semifinals. It's strong, very strong. As you would expect, threats

:44:31. > :44:39.all over the place in that Celtic side. No Adam Rooney for Aberdeen,

:44:40. > :44:44.what a decision that is by Derek McGuinness. The Dons top scorer, he

:44:45. > :44:55.will cut a frustrated figure among the substitutes. Jack returns for

:44:56. > :44:59.his first start in a month. He, Taylor and McGinn look like they are

:45:00. > :45:05.playing their final games for the club. Dembele is on the Celtic

:45:06. > :45:09.bench. The other five outfield substitutes, full internationalists.

:45:10. > :45:29.Rooney joined by his countryman O'Connor.

:45:30. > :45:37.Fabulous scenes as Aberdeen do their warm up, their biggest day for a

:45:38. > :45:42.long time. Sinclair has been man of the season. The football writers

:45:43. > :45:54.association Player of the Year. He was the PFA Scotland Player of the

:45:55. > :45:55.Year as well. Scott Brown was the league player sponsors Player of the

:45:56. > :46:29.Year. The shocking and tragic events of

:46:30. > :46:33.Monday night in Manchester, were sobering, yet more lives

:46:34. > :46:36.unnecessarily cut short and Hampden Park will fall silent to pay tribute

:46:37. > :46:43.to those killed, injured and affected by what happened at the

:46:44. > :46:48.start of the week. Innocent people, many young

:46:49. > :47:50.children, simply went to a music concert and didn't come home.

:47:51. > :47:58.APPLAUSE APPLAUSE

:47:59. > :47:58.The big boards which have been installed affected

:47:59. > :48:01.APPLAUSE The big boards which have been

:48:02. > :48:05.installed here with the message "We stand together" and everyone does

:48:06. > :48:09.stand together with the people of Manchester and those affected by yet

:48:10. > :48:15.more abhorrent acts, on Monday evening.

:48:16. > :48:23.Celtic have been celebrating a very special anniversary this week, the

:48:24. > :48:29.50th anniversary of their most famous triumph, when they became the

:48:30. > :48:33.first British club to win the European Cup in the Portuguese

:48:34. > :48:39.capital Lisbon. Aberdeen looking to provide Celtic with a fly in the

:48:40. > :48:55.ointment. Not many are giving them a chance today. Unless you are of a

:48:56. > :49:01.red-and-white persuasion. The 13 the end Scottish Cup Final. It hasn't

:49:02. > :49:07.finished goalless since 1990. Will it be a treble for Celtic or will

:49:08. > :49:13.Aberdeen end a wait of 27 years for a trophy they grew accustomed to

:49:14. > :49:17.picking up across the 1980s? The Scottish champions on an unbeaten

:49:18. > :49:28.run of 32 games and even then that defeat was inflicted by Barcelona,

:49:29. > :49:36.and Messi's double. The great Milan side, Arsenal, Conte's Juventus,

:49:37. > :49:39.Celtic matched them last week with an unbelievable league season.

:49:40. > :49:43.Aberdeen need to start better than they did in the Cup Final at the end

:49:44. > :49:47.of November. They have to believe they can win today, they need to

:49:48. > :49:53.play for me, the perfect game to win today, they cannot afford to have

:49:54. > :49:58.even one of their players below par. An early chance. Looking for

:49:59. > :50:05.Stockley. Here is Shinnie, lovely play from the captain. He couldn't

:50:06. > :50:08.dig it out in time. Considine. Celtic clear, positive start for

:50:09. > :50:13.Aberdeen. Really positive start. Jonny Hayes

:50:14. > :50:19.showing his worth on the right-hand side. Getting a decent ball intoy

:50:20. > :50:23.the box. Aberdeen had a brilliant league season themselves, beating

:50:24. > :50:36.their own record points tally they set under McInnes a couple of years

:50:37. > :50:41.ago. MacLaine. -- McLean. Tierney, who has had a terrific

:50:42. > :50:47.season, Griffiths is offside: That is an early warning shot for Logan.

:50:48. > :50:51.He was caught up the park there. Givet should have timed his run

:50:52. > :50:55.better, he looks as though he might have been onside when the ball was

:50:56. > :51:06.played through. It is easy from an Aberdeen perspective.

:51:07. > :51:16.Moussa Dembele picked up that happen string injury in the semi against

:51:17. > :51:23.Rangers, he made it to the bench. Bench. Bobby Madden, an emotional

:51:24. > :51:26.day for him, the referee, he was diagnosed a year ago today with

:51:27. > :51:31.thyroid cancer, his quick recovery sees him take change of his first

:51:32. > :51:40.major final. Terrific moment for him.

:51:41. > :51:46.Celtic in the green and white as you would ebb expect attacking Mount

:51:47. > :51:51.Florida Aberdeen shooting east. This is a first touch for Robert, on loan

:51:52. > :51:55.from Manchester City. How Celtic would like to get him back. Slips it

:51:56. > :52:02.through to Armstrong. Jack following him.

:52:03. > :52:06.A heavy touch from Armstrong. They have not said that too many times,

:52:07. > :52:11.he has been outstanding, a great wee bit of play from Celtic. Keeping the

:52:12. > :52:15.ball. Rotating as that he do, in the final third, Armstrong just overrun

:52:16. > :52:20.it. Just over a year to the day that

:52:21. > :52:25.Brendan Rodgers was paraded at Celtic Park.

:52:26. > :52:35.What an impact he has had on the club. Only two Celtic managers have

:52:36. > :52:42.won a treble before him. He was on to win it today. Jock Stein and

:52:43. > :52:49.Martin O'Neill. Stein did it twice. Hayes. Taking on Tierney.

:52:50. > :52:53.Really good defending by Tierney who is a wonderful attacking threat for

:52:54. > :52:58.Celtic. He knows how to defend. People for get that at time, he is

:52:59. > :53:02.is a top defender, Jonny Hayes is quick, believe me, when he turned

:53:03. > :53:05.with the ball there, against most defenders in the league he would

:53:06. > :53:11.have been away to get a cross in the box. Tierney got his body in front

:53:12. > :53:17.of him. Fantastic defending. Griffiths. 18 goals this season. He

:53:18. > :53:24.scored 40 last campaign. Doing well to repeat the trip.

:53:25. > :53:31.Celtic have improved tenfold in this kind of situation this season.

:53:32. > :53:40.Playing out from the keeper. Considine trying to stick to

:53:41. > :53:46.Roberts. Aberdeen fans appreciating the

:53:47. > :53:58.effort of their left-back. Griffiths.

:53:59. > :54:02.Aberdeen free kick. It is good play initially from

:54:03. > :54:15.Griffith. I think he felt Shinnie gave him a nudge into Considine and

:54:16. > :54:20.he was looking for the foul himself. It has been five different winners

:54:21. > :54:22.of the Scottish Cup in the last five season s Hearts, Celtic, St

:54:23. > :54:47.Johnstone, Inverness and Hibernian. Misunderstanding there between

:54:48. > :54:50.Griffiths. Griffiths went too early on that occasion the last one was

:54:51. > :55:01.tying but he was yards offside there.

:55:02. > :55:06.Stockley will need better service than that from Taylor. If you are

:55:07. > :55:10.playing as a loan striker, the service up to you is pivotal to the

:55:11. > :55:15.whole system working, and the service has to be right. When it

:55:16. > :55:23.comes up to Stockley, the link has to be right. The players McClean,

:55:24. > :55:27.Hayes have to get round him in support. Aberdeen will play that

:55:28. > :55:32.way, try and miss out the midfield where Celtic are strong and try and

:55:33. > :55:43.get a foot hold further up the pitch in the Celtic half.

:55:44. > :55:47.McGregor. What a game he has come on to in the closing months of the

:55:48. > :55:58.term. Tierney. Sinclair. Sinclair. Taylor. He is

:55:59. > :56:06.away from them as well. That will be a Celtic corner, it is their first

:56:07. > :56:10.of the match. Sensational from Sinclair. He looks

:56:11. > :56:14.like he has nowhere to go. He dinks it over Taylor. Poor defending from

:56:15. > :56:20.Taylor. He is lucky the final ball wasn't the best from Sinclair.

:56:21. > :56:25.They will still aim to profit though. Seven minutes in. Aberdeen

:56:26. > :56:32.were 3-0 down after 11 minutes in the most recent league meeting.

:56:33. > :56:36.Griffiths, looking for Boyata. That is not a bad effort from McGregor.

:56:37. > :56:40.He slices away. It shows you the confidence he has

:56:41. > :56:44.got. A decent clearance but he takes the touch and wants to hit it first

:56:45. > :56:53.time. It is always going away when he slices it with his left foot. He

:56:54. > :56:59.knows how to score here at Hampden. He burst on to the scene after

:57:00. > :57:07.Diyala gave him his debut in Iceland. Fell away a bit McGregor,

:57:08. > :57:18.but he is part of the furniture under Brendan Rodgers.

:57:19. > :57:25.Hayes and Stockley combine, not once, but twice. That is an earn

:57:26. > :57:29.corer. Good play from Aberdeen, a good interchange with Stockley,

:57:30. > :57:33.again, Tierney showing what a top defender he is s closing the space

:57:34. > :57:37.down, it is a conner this time. Certainly physical Stockley, he has

:57:38. > :57:50.been sent off three times this season.

:57:51. > :58:00.Hayes puts it in! Well, well, that wasn't in the Celtic script.

:58:01. > :58:04.Aberdeen are out early on. What a finish by Hayes, the Dons lead the

:58:05. > :58:09.final. That is a set play. Something they

:58:10. > :58:13.have worked on. Stockley goes from back to front. Hayes comes round the

:58:14. > :58:20.back. It is a fantastic left footed finish.

:58:21. > :58:25.He has been one of their star men this season. Once again and Aberdeen

:58:26. > :58:28.have drawn blood, nine minutes into this Scottish Cup Final. What a

:58:29. > :58:44.moment for Jonny Hayes. When Derek McInnes went to his bed

:58:45. > :58:49.last night he would not have been able to dream of a better start.

:58:50. > :58:52.Against a rampant Scottish champions, Aberdeen are in front.

:58:53. > :58:57.I was going to say, from an Aberdeen point of view, they want to hope

:58:58. > :59:02.Celtic don't concede in the first ten minutes, no, you know and they

:59:03. > :59:11.have gone and got the goal. It was a fantastically well worked set play.

:59:12. > :59:16.That will certainly galvanise Aberdeen. Many thought if they were

:59:17. > :59:20.going to win they would have to score the first goal. This will be

:59:21. > :59:27.important times for the Dons as they try to prevent Celtic from replying

:59:28. > :59:39.instantly. Simunovic. McGregor. Great challenge

:59:40. > :59:44.by Shinnie but it brakes to Armstrong. Oh he levels it

:59:45. > :59:50.immediately! Just over a minute after going

:59:51. > :59:55.behind, Armstrong smashes Celtic back on terms.

:59:56. > :59:59.What a reaction from Celtic from a player who has had an incredible

:00:00. > :00:04.season. Who the ball come, he has onening in his mind. On his left

:00:05. > :00:05.foot and there is the touch in a sensational finish into the bottom

:00:06. > :00:16.corner. He's having a terrific campaign,

:00:17. > :00:22.Stuart Armstrong. That is his 17th goal of the season. What a return.

:00:23. > :00:30.Derek McInnes will be furious. To take the lead and then give it away

:00:31. > :00:38.so quickly. We've just been saying they were important times for

:00:39. > :00:44.Aberdeen to try and prevent the immediate retaliation. Every single

:00:45. > :00:46.time Celtic have been asked a question this season, they have come

:00:47. > :01:07.up with an answer. In the build-up to that, she needed

:01:08. > :01:13.really well to get the ball for Aberdeen.

:01:14. > :01:35.Stuart Armstrong was a young man at a club just north of Aberdeen back

:01:36. > :01:39.in the day. A terrific finish. Could Aberdeen have defended better, could

:01:40. > :01:44.the goalkeeper have defended it better? I think the quality of the

:01:45. > :01:48.finish was superb. He had one thing on his mind, he hit it well and it

:01:49. > :01:52.dipped right into the corner. I don't think you can blame the

:01:53. > :01:58.goalkeeper. Celtic haven't started the way they would have planned.

:01:59. > :02:06.It's been a sluggish start. They aren't controlling the match as they

:02:07. > :02:13.normally do. It's a wonderful strike. I don't think anybody can be

:02:14. > :02:32.at fault, individual brilliance from Armstrong.

:02:33. > :02:45.A couple of goals early on. Another Scottish Cup final will go by

:02:46. > :02:54.without a goalless draw. The last time that happened was between these

:02:55. > :03:03.two, all the way to penalties. We are back where we started, Stephen.

:03:04. > :03:09.Yes. Hayes tries to take on Simunovic. I think Aberdeen will be

:03:10. > :03:13.the happier of the two sides at this stage, they've threatened more than

:03:14. > :03:29.I thought they would. Celtic yet to find their rhythm.

:03:30. > :03:39.The Dons with a free kick. Aberdeen playing in a new kit this afternoon,

:03:40. > :03:48.the one they will be wearing next season. They did that the last time

:03:49. > :03:55.they played in the Scottish Cup final, it was in 2000 against

:03:56. > :03:58.Rangers. They lost Jim Leighton early on, didn't have a keeper on

:03:59. > :04:05.the bench. Step forward Robbie Winters. Nice spin away from Brown.

:04:06. > :04:33.McGinn couldn't find a team-mate. Scott Sinclair has got Tierney

:04:34. > :04:36.rampaging. It's a decent overlap from Tierney. I think he slipped as

:04:37. > :04:41.he was about to put the cross into the box. Brilliant play from Jonny

:04:42. > :04:50.Hayes at the other end of the pitch, just before that, with his turn on

:04:51. > :05:00.Scott Brown and his cutback. A foul thereby Boyata. He is disputing it.

:05:01. > :05:07.It was always going to be a good tussle. He probably went down a bit

:05:08. > :05:11.softly, there. Celtic maintaining this incredible scoring record they

:05:12. > :05:15.have against Aberdeen. They've only failed to do it once since December

:05:16. > :05:26.2000 and one. The Scottish Cup replay in Glasgow for Aberdeen. The

:05:27. > :05:34.only goal in a replay. Less than two minutes between the two goals in

:05:35. > :05:38.this final. Hayes looking for McLean. A real anti-climax for

:05:39. > :05:46.Aberdeen. Scott Sinclair has it back. 64 games now, then. And only

:05:47. > :05:52.in one of those have Celtic failed to score. Stuart Armstrong's

:05:53. > :06:21.equaliser ensuring that continues. Patrick Roberts could have been away

:06:22. > :06:34.on World Cup duty, chose to play for the club. He's been sublime this

:06:35. > :06:35.season. The unsung hero in the Celtic team, Lustig. Mr dependable

:06:36. > :06:54.at right back. The Celtic fans and Callum McGregor

:06:55. > :07:03.felt he was fouled but they have it back anyway.

:07:04. > :07:19.Getting the ball out there down by the corner flag. Nice bit of

:07:20. > :07:24.possession for Celtic, that's more what we are accustomed to from them.

:07:25. > :07:33.Keeping the ball, rotational movement, dragging Aberdeen around

:07:34. > :07:40.defensively. A good challenge thereby McLean. Aberdeen trying to

:07:41. > :07:46.get the ball to stick, a free kick here to take the heat out of the

:07:47. > :07:50.situation. Kenny McLean does well initially to get the ball of Scott

:07:51. > :07:54.Brown. Scott Brown has dominated so many matches for Celtic in the

:07:55. > :07:58.middle of the Park this season. Aberdeen need to get someone on him,

:07:59. > :08:09.tightly. Kenny McLean did that, there. Years of mediocrity for the

:08:10. > :08:18.Aberdeen supporters, and a fabulous four years and the Derek McInnes.

:08:19. > :08:22.Shinnie is an side here. Celtic almost forgot about Graeme Shinnie,

:08:23. > :08:28.he ghosted in behind. Excellent, a fantastic ball in. Shinnie does

:08:29. > :08:39.well. The angle wasn't right for the shot. It's been wonderful for

:08:40. > :08:46.Aberdeen this season, Graeme Shinnie. Still no Scotland cap, even

:08:47. > :08:53.in the squad for the game here in England in a fortnight. -- the game

:08:54. > :08:58.against England in a fortnight. Celtic can perhaps feel lucky not to

:08:59. > :09:06.be included. As Gordon Strachan says, it's an area that the Scotland

:09:07. > :09:11.squad is blessed with. At full-back, Kieran Tierney played right back for

:09:12. > :09:15.Scotland against Slovenia in the recent World Cup qualifier and will

:09:16. > :09:19.likely do so again against England. A really strong match, even though

:09:20. > :09:30.he was out of position, showing again the quality he has. That

:09:31. > :09:37.looked a foul to me. It looked as though Chris Evans was pushed in the

:09:38. > :09:43.back -- as though Griffiths was pushed in the back. Brendan Rodgers

:09:44. > :09:58.and his assistant asking questions of the fourth official.

:09:59. > :10:09.Kieran Tierney has gone down. He's got a bleeding mouth. Here we go.

:10:10. > :10:12.Stockley has been done for this plenty this season. Three red cards,

:10:13. > :10:18.they've all been for that kind of offence. He definitely swings his

:10:19. > :10:29.elbow towards Kieran Tierney's mouth. He has got previous. He came

:10:30. > :10:33.on against Rangers at Ibrox and was booked for it, a couple of minutes

:10:34. > :10:37.later was booked again, sent off. Aberdeen can't be doing with that

:10:38. > :10:43.today. They can be doing with more of this, this is Jonny Hayes' goal.

:10:44. > :10:47.Aberdeen drew everybody in the pitch, and then he ghosted and the

:10:48. > :10:59.Celtic goal then, an incredible strike really from Armstrong.

:11:00. > :11:05.Jonny Hayes part of the Republic of Ireland squad these days under

:11:06. > :11:17.Martin O'Neill. He was the last Celtic manager to win the treble.

:11:18. > :11:26.He's got a bust lip. Trip to the dentist, I think, personal on

:11:27. > :11:30.Monday. Looks like it. He's still in a bit of discomfort. Jayden Stockley

:11:31. > :11:38.needs to watch that. 100%. He is known for it. I think he does

:11:39. > :11:47.actually mean to do that. That's really, really poor from Stockley.

:11:48. > :11:53.Well, he's got away with it. It's the kind of thing Derek McInnes I'm

:11:54. > :12:00.sure would have warned him not to partake in it when he named his

:12:01. > :12:05.starting XI. You can have a physical presence, be a target man, without

:12:06. > :12:09.that. You don't have to be throwing elbows, making fouls all the time.

:12:10. > :12:20.You can be physically strong and use your body without being nasty.

:12:21. > :12:29.Brendan Rodgers is asking whether or not he can continue. I don't know

:12:30. > :12:46.whether it's gone damage as well as teeth. Well, I'm looking at the

:12:47. > :12:54.bench. Cristian Gamboa is a right back. If he does have to go off it's

:12:55. > :13:00.an incredibly disappointing way to go out of the Scottish Cup final.

:13:01. > :13:06.Kieran Tierney and Scott Brown both come out. They are the two Celtic

:13:07. > :13:14.players who race for the warm up in T-shirts. He's made of hard stuff,

:13:15. > :13:26.Kieran Tierney. That was a fair bank to the face he took. -- bang to the

:13:27. > :13:37.face. They are having a discussion, Derek McInnes and Scott Brown. Shay

:13:38. > :13:42.Logan is also getting involved. It's a good job for Jayden Stockley that

:13:43. > :13:48.Bobby Madden hasn't seen that. Kieran Tierney can't continue.

:13:49. > :13:55.Massive blow for Celtic, that. He's been superb this season. They are

:13:56. > :14:02.going to bring on Tom Rockett -- Tom Rogic. What a disappointment for the

:14:03. > :14:10.young man. To go out of a final like that because of an elbow to the

:14:11. > :14:20.face. You imagine Celtic will maybe change formation. Tom Rogic has got

:14:21. > :14:27.a very, very decent record against Aberdeen. He scored the winner at

:14:28. > :14:30.Pittodrie in their first meeting between the two this season. Scored

:14:31. > :14:35.in the previous one at Parkhead, scored in the League Cup final here.

:14:36. > :14:39.Set up a second and played his part in the penalty that led to the

:14:40. > :14:47.third. He has been a thorn in the side of Aberdeen. It's not a great

:14:48. > :14:52.site for the Celtic fans and Kieran Tierney is pointing an accusing

:14:53. > :14:56.finger at Jason Stockley -- Jayden Stockley, you can understand why.

:14:57. > :15:10.Stockley is very fortunate he is not off.

:15:11. > :15:21.Is it a straight red if the referee spots it? Because of the force of

:15:22. > :15:27.impact it could possibly been a red. We play on then. Three minute

:15:28. > :15:33.stoppage there as brown heads clear. Is -- Brown. Expect Stockley to be

:15:34. > :15:41.roundly booed for the remained other this game. Considine slices one

:15:42. > :15:44.away. Got a hat-trick earlier this season, his 30th birthday. Tierney

:15:45. > :15:50.was up the tunnel to be patched up but he will not play any part today.

:15:51. > :15:55.McLean almost taking Gordon, who was sloppy that time.

:15:56. > :15:58.That is something that Celtic have improved op and Gordon playing from

:15:59. > :16:04.the back. If Aberdeen are to go high, they can win it back and they

:16:05. > :16:10.need to be careful Celtic. He had no choice to become better,

:16:11. > :16:13.he was dropped for De Vries who is the sub goalie today. Brendan

:16:14. > :16:20.Rodgers worked with that keeper at Swansea City. When he signed said he

:16:21. > :16:25.was as important to him, perhaps second best signing out with Suarez.

:16:26. > :16:34.Immense character, to fight his way back into the team, and to improve.

:16:35. > :16:35.Sinclair is going to get there first, Jack's challenge taking it

:16:36. > :16:57.back in to his own half. Lustig. When you slice it up, break

:16:58. > :17:00.it down, it is bad for Tierney on a personal level but it is bad for the

:17:01. > :17:05.Celtic team because he is such a weapon and so good at the back which

:17:06. > :17:11.we had already spoken about. He is. It gives them so much going forward.

:17:12. > :17:16.His defending against Jonny Hayes was superb. It is is a big miss for

:17:17. > :17:22.Celtic. I really feel for him. Brown is

:17:23. > :17:27.going to get it back here... To Logan.

:17:28. > :17:34.Relatively comfortable save for Gordon, though he was lucky there

:17:35. > :17:39.was nobody in red, Jacks! They have tested the Celtic keeper twice in

:17:40. > :17:42.the last couple of seconds. Almost a couple of widesical saves for Craig

:17:43. > :17:49.Gordon. Beating both away out of the box. Decent hits.

:17:50. > :17:51.He doesn't score many Ryan Jack. He scored his first if two years this

:17:52. > :18:15.season. He has managed a couple. We will get you an update on

:18:16. > :18:21.Tierney's condition in interval. 16 minutes to the break. Hayes opening

:18:22. > :18:23.the scoring for Aberdeen. Less than two minutes later, Celtic were level

:18:24. > :18:38.through Armstrong. Celtic have lost their rhythm since

:18:39. > :18:43.Kieran Tierney went off. A corner by the way. It is a corner. Yes,

:18:44. > :18:49.Aberdeen have been pressing them high. It is their second. They

:18:50. > :19:05.scored from their first. The sun is coming out. Derek McInnes

:19:06. > :19:12.discarding his jacket. It wouldn't be Scottish Cup Final day without

:19:13. > :19:24.the sun. Half an hour in. Hayes to take.

:19:25. > :19:29.It must be so frustrating when you get a corner you are getting set and

:19:30. > :19:33.you hear the whistle for a push. Stockley spinning round the back. It

:19:34. > :19:37.looked as though he was going to header it, and it was McLean

:19:38. > :19:51.involved in a tussle that ended up in a free kick.

:19:52. > :19:58.A little disjointed from Celtic now. They haven't always performed to

:19:59. > :20:04.their best this season, a lot of single goal victories among all the

:20:05. > :20:10.Mullerings they were real particularly handing out.

:20:11. > :20:16.The referee not happy with how close Griffiths was to Lewis. Had to come

:20:17. > :20:20.off the Celtic striker there. It has been an afternoon of frustration for

:20:21. > :20:24.Celtic, other than the goal. Yes, you saw that with the long ball from

:20:25. > :20:29.Boyata. I don't think Griffiths has done too much wrong. He turned his

:20:30. > :20:33.back on it. Boyata playing a long ball. You don't often see Celtic

:20:34. > :20:37.missing out their midfield, before that, he punted a long one and ran

:20:38. > :20:44.through to Joe Lewis, they are unsettled.

:20:45. > :20:56.Jonny Hayes scoring Aberdeen's first goel in a Scottish Cup Final at

:20:57. > :21:01.Hampden since Billy stark in 1986. Lustig feels that Jonny Hayes took a

:21:02. > :21:16.dive. It was good play from Hayes knocking it past him. It is not a

:21:17. > :21:28.lot of contact. Is Taylor up for it? Stockley,

:21:29. > :21:32.Considine there. It is an important intervention from Simunovic. Is it

:21:33. > :21:37.at the expense of another Aberdeen corn sne It is a very important

:21:38. > :21:44.intervention, if not Taylor was on the end of this. He does well to put

:21:45. > :21:48.it bah bahst for the corner. Put it back. Aberdeen aon the corner

:21:49. > :22:04.count. Three to one. McGinn. Stockley. And Craig Gordon

:22:05. > :22:08.was there. Either side and Aberdeen could potentially have been 2-1 up

:22:09. > :22:12.there. That is why Derek McInnes has got him in the side, because of his

:22:13. > :22:17.aerial presence, he is making it felt.

:22:18. > :22:21.A decent ball into a good area. He does well to peel off his marker,

:22:22. > :22:24.but can't get any direction on the header.

:22:25. > :22:27.Aberdeen are getting under Celtic's skin.

:22:28. > :22:30.That is them had three or four efforts in goal. There is no doubt

:22:31. > :22:36.that Aberdeen have been the better side so o in this half. Causing

:22:37. > :22:39.Celtic a lot of problem o Celtic not getting into their usual fluid style

:22:40. > :22:43.of play. Simunovic coming forward. He was

:22:44. > :22:45.heavily involved in Celtic's first goal in the League Cup Final here in

:22:46. > :23:59.November. McGinn for Aberdeen.

:24:00. > :24:05.Stockley. Jack is onside here. Taking an eternity to arrive at his

:24:06. > :24:15.feet. Logan. Wray from Boyata. Oyez.

:24:16. > :24:20.McLean. Left by Simunovic.

:24:21. > :24:27.Knew what he was, knew where the goal was, ten to half-time. Won one.

:24:28. > :24:32.This is as uncomfortable I have seen Celtic this season. They are making

:24:33. > :24:33.mistake, they are disjointed. Aberdeen can be very pleased with

:24:34. > :24:54.their work so far. Sob often this Celtic team, when

:24:55. > :24:58.they haven't been at their best and just when the opponents think they

:24:59. > :25:02.are getting somewhere, up they pop, just before half-time, and it

:25:03. > :25:06.completely changes the complexion. There is a warning shot, Liam, that

:25:07. > :25:11.didn't look as if it was much trouble. All of a sud season

:25:12. > :25:12.Griffith is through in behind the back four, he couldn't gather it to

:25:13. > :25:46.get his shot away. Derek McInnes was happy with the way

:25:47. > :25:53.Aberdeen played for 79 minute against Celtic a few week back. They

:25:54. > :25:57.roughed Celtic up and feasibly, could have got something out of it.

:25:58. > :26:02.Denied a penalty when Shinnie was taken out by Gordon. Stockley missed

:26:03. > :26:06.a brilliant opportunity to bring it back to 3-2 in the first half and

:26:07. > :26:10.they just adopted the same tactics and it was working that night for

:26:11. > :26:14.big spells of that match. Why would you change it? You wouldn't. What

:26:15. > :26:20.Aberdeen are doing very well are harassing Celtic, closing them down.

:26:21. > :26:26.Here they go. That is a throw in only. Bounces off

:26:27. > :26:32.the flag. Tracking back from Hayes, superb. Celtic when they have the

:26:33. > :26:37.ball in defence don't seem to have as many options as they usually do.

:26:38. > :26:41.They usually have four, five six options for the passer. Boyata when

:26:42. > :26:45.he has had the ball has looked up and gone sideways or played long and

:26:46. > :26:52.Celtic don't seem to be able to get on the ball. In key areas as easily

:26:53. > :26:59.as they do. That is down to Aberdeen's organisation.

:27:00. > :27:04.We have a corner here. Twice this season, Boyata has scored from this

:27:05. > :27:09.kind of situation. Against Aberdeen. Last time it was a Griffiths's

:27:10. > :27:15.corner. McLean. There is Armstrong.

:27:16. > :27:16.I think Kenny took a knock as he Claired it. He is going to be all

:27:17. > :27:25.right. right.

:27:26. > :27:34.-- cleared it. Armstrong in the form he is in, he gets it wrong.

:27:35. > :27:41.Domestically this season, Celtic have scored in every single match.

:27:42. > :27:44.They have scored the opening goal in all but four domestic games coming

:27:45. > :27:49.into today. That fifth time they have been behind or lost the first

:27:50. > :28:00.goal in season. They were behind to Kilmarnock, won 6-1. Behind to

:28:01. > :28:06.Rangers, won 2-1. Behind to St Mirren in this very competition, won

:28:07. > :28:08.4-1. They seem to find they way. The one that sticks in mind the one at

:28:09. > :28:12.Motherwell. Extraordinary second half. The brilliant from Ches

:28:13. > :28:17.Brendan Rodgers tactically, way he changed it round to win the game.

:28:18. > :28:24.Burr this is, as I said, it is uncomfortable as I have seen Celtic

:28:25. > :28:30.all season. Is A long way to go. Cellino they

:28:31. > :28:41.can click in to gear at any point. This is Armstrong.

:28:42. > :29:06.Again Boyata, no options in front of him. Coming back. Sinclair against

:29:07. > :29:32.Reynolds. Five minutes to half-time. You can see the frustration, there

:29:33. > :29:35.five options. five options.

:29:36. > :29:45.-- normally he has four or five options.

:29:46. > :29:49.There is a fine line between sitting in and doing what Aberdeen are doing

:29:50. > :29:58.at the moment and being able to do it for 90 minutes.

:29:59. > :30:04.They've both had the threat of their own at the other end. The game,

:30:05. > :30:08.Griffiths couldn't quite get enough on the cross. It should have been

:30:09. > :30:15.more along the six yard line. It's too close to Joe Lewis. An easy save

:30:16. > :30:21.in the end. That looked a foul to me. The referee doesn't think so.

:30:22. > :30:33.Joe Lewis has been using Kenny McLean as without ball for kicks.

:30:34. > :30:43.That's a clear foul. They are going to be team-mates pretty soon, Brown

:30:44. > :30:54.and McLean in the Scotland squad. Well defended by Taylor. Telling his

:30:55. > :30:58.team-mates to calm down. Derek McInnes celebrated four years in

:30:59. > :31:08.post on the 25th of March. Three full seasons before this one. This

:31:09. > :31:12.season he collected 76 points. Before that they were averaging

:31:13. > :31:31.about 40. Sometimes less than that. It shows you the job he has done. A

:31:32. > :31:34.foul one Armstrong. Scott Armstrong is getting frustrated in this match,

:31:35. > :31:54.he can't get on the ball as he normally does.

:31:55. > :32:04.Very intriguing William Hill Scottish Cup final, this. I think a

:32:05. > :32:09.lot of people thought it would have been a foregone conclusion. It

:32:10. > :32:12.certainly hasn't been that way. Celtic haven't had it all their own

:32:13. > :32:23.way. I think Aberdeen have had the better of this opening half. Was

:32:24. > :32:30.Armstrong fouled, he was, says Bobby Madden. Suddenly Celtic have a free

:32:31. > :32:34.kick and very handsome territory. Shinnie clips his ankles as he runs

:32:35. > :32:41.past him. This is a dangerous situation. It's going to be five

:32:42. > :32:51.minutes of injury time in. Of course, Kieran Tierney's injury

:32:52. > :32:55.resulting in that. Here Celtic, after facing a dog-eared Aberdeen up

:32:56. > :33:06.till this point, have been presented with a chance to go in front for the

:33:07. > :33:12.first time in the final -- dogged Aberdeen. The Aberdeen supporters

:33:13. > :33:21.hold their collective breath. It's over. He certainly struck it well.

:33:22. > :33:28.He's gone for power and catches it very cleanly. It turns past the

:33:29. > :33:34.goalkeeper's post. It's a wonderful strike and Italy just turns up the

:33:35. > :33:40.last minute. He's got a pretty decent record against Aberdeen,

:33:41. > :33:48.Leigh Griffiths. Knock them out in the semifinals when he was at

:33:49. > :33:57.Hebburn yen in 2012. -- who Bernie and -- Hibs. Derek McInnes will be

:33:58. > :34:06.the happier of the two managers. I think the players can take a lot of

:34:07. > :34:10.belief from this first half. Kenny McLean has played that role superbly

:34:11. > :34:22.in this first half. From the kick outs of Joe Lewis. It's been 13

:34:23. > :34:28.years since the team that scored first lost the Scottish Cup final.

:34:29. > :34:34.Dunfermline in 2004 against Celtic in what was Henrik Larsson's last

:34:35. > :34:40.game for the club. Since then, every team that's gone in front has lifted

:34:41. > :34:45.the silverware. Aberdeen have a corner. On the same side from which

:34:46. > :35:00.they scored the opening goal of this final. Stockley and Taylor have gone

:35:01. > :35:05.to the back post for this one. In from McGinn. It's over from McLean.

:35:06. > :35:10.Who, going by his reaction, feels he should have done better. Again, he

:35:11. > :35:17.gets the better of Brown. He'll feel he should have got that on target.

:35:18. > :35:22.Rewarded for a superb season for Aberdeen, particularly in the second

:35:23. > :35:27.half. Do you feel the Scotland call-up is long overdue? Absolutely,

:35:28. > :35:34.he's been superb for Aberdeen this season. Absent Mirren he was

:35:35. > :35:39.inconsistent. -- at St Mirren he was inconsistent. I think at Aberdeen

:35:40. > :35:42.he's found a consistency, he brings A-level of performance on a weekly

:35:43. > :35:51.basis which I think is what has got him into the Scotland squad. That

:35:52. > :35:53.Jonny Hayes goal just the second Celtic have conceded in cup

:35:54. > :36:06.competition domestically this season. What a pass. Yeah. That's

:36:07. > :36:10.Hayes. Stockley is there! It's another corner. We are into double

:36:11. > :36:16.figures in the corner count against Celtic, last time out. A

:36:17. > :36:20.conventional ball down the line from Hayes. Wonderful defending by Boyata

:36:21. > :36:29.who reacts to get a last-ditch tackle in an Stockley. Aberdeen have

:36:30. > :36:39.shone a spotlight on their opponents. In from Hayes. McLean

:36:40. > :36:59.jumped a little too early there. It's cleared by Boyata.

:37:00. > :37:10.A couple of minutes of injury time remaining. Great play by Roberts. I

:37:11. > :37:15.think what's really impressive about Aberdeen's performance in this first

:37:16. > :37:20.half is that Celtic's key players, Roberts who has been in sensational

:37:21. > :37:22.form, Sinclair, the Player of the Year, Griffiths, have all been kept

:37:23. > :37:56.very quiet. Derek McInnes will be desperate to

:37:57. > :37:57.get his team into the changing room, level at half-time. How often have

:37:58. > :38:36.we seen Celtic do this to opponents? Aberdeen just trying to see this

:38:37. > :38:43.out. Cleared by Logan, not decisive though. All hands to the pump for

:38:44. > :38:53.Aberdeen. It's Griffiths Paul! Scott Sinclair. Great bit of play from

:38:54. > :38:57.Celtic, one of the few times in the half, and this is a sensational ball

:38:58. > :39:05.in from Griffiths. You'd expect Scott Sinclair to have the net

:39:06. > :39:11.ripple. What an opportunity. His manager agrees with you. A big, big

:39:12. > :39:16.moment. It was the last kick of the first half. An intriguing Scottish

:39:17. > :39:21.Cup final. Hayes gave Aberdeen the lead, less than two minutes later

:39:22. > :39:33.Armstrong put the champions level. Half-time in the Scottish Cup final.

:39:34. > :39:37.If Celtic thought they were cruising to the treble, Aberdeen have stopped

:39:38. > :39:49.them in their stride in the first half. Aberdeen, what a finish by

:39:50. > :40:05.Hayes! Stuart Armstrong smashes Celtic back on track! Stockley...

:40:06. > :40:09.STUDIO: 50 minutes has flown by in the first half of this 27 William

:40:10. > :40:13.Hill Scottish Cup final. Let's get the half-time thoughts of Michael

:40:14. > :40:19.Stewart, Willie Miller and Alan Stubbs. He had his arms wrapped

:40:20. > :40:23.lovingly around the trophy just 12 months ago. Aberdeen have got this

:40:24. > :40:29.right, right from the start. They have, they've pressed onto Celtic,

:40:30. > :40:35.they've really made Celtic look unbalanced in their play. They've

:40:36. > :40:41.been on the back foot, they've made Gordon kick long, they've won the

:40:42. > :40:46.second balls. And this is probably the most uneasy we've seen Celtic

:40:47. > :40:52.all season. Aberdeen need to take a huge amount of credit for that.

:40:53. > :40:58.Until now, Derek has got his game plan spot-on. But, there's a big

:40:59. > :41:01.butt. No matter how well Aberdeen have done, Leigh Griffiths free kick

:41:02. > :41:05.wasn't far away and you would say Scott Sinclair probably should have

:41:06. > :41:09.scored and Celtic would have been in front. On balance of play, the

:41:10. > :41:17.happier manager has got to be Derek McInnes. Tactics perfect, taken on

:41:18. > :41:21.from the last game at the Pittodrie At half-time he'll be looking for

:41:22. > :41:25.more of the same. What does Brendan Rodgers do? They haven't been

:41:26. > :41:31.allowed to play because of the tactics they have employed. Not

:41:32. > :41:35.allowing Craig Gordon to spread the passes out. The two centre-backs are

:41:36. > :41:39.the two full-backs, and having to kick it long. They don't have anyone

:41:40. > :41:44.up there who can win the ball in the air. I think it's been Aberdeen's

:41:45. > :41:51.first. They've had a couple of strikes, a header as well that might

:41:52. > :41:55.have sneaked in. I think the happier manager has got to be Derek McInnes.

:41:56. > :41:59.It's been a great response from Aberdeen, Michael, to what happened

:42:00. > :42:06.or didn't happen in the League Cup final. At 100%. If Leigh Griffiths'

:42:07. > :42:09.free kick put them 2-1 down, but it didn't. Aberdeen are right in this

:42:10. > :42:17.game and they will be much the happier. The whole build-up is a

:42:18. > :42:21.real difficult task to compete with Celtic and potentially beat them.

:42:22. > :42:26.But Aberdeen have put a game plan in place in the first that shows they

:42:27. > :42:29.are capable of getting the victory. It's hats off to Derek McInnes and

:42:30. > :42:34.his players. The only question I've got is are they going to be able to

:42:35. > :42:38.do it for 90 minutes? A second goal could be vital. If they get a second

:42:39. > :42:45.goal it will lift the energy levels and they will have something to hold

:42:46. > :42:51.onto. If it's sticking at 1-1, or go to maintain those energy levels.

:42:52. > :42:55.It's a high-energy tactic to close Celtic down, not allowing them to

:42:56. > :42:59.play. And turning and getting back into your shape. Full credit to

:43:00. > :43:03.Aberdeen because they have set the tone in the first half. There have

:43:04. > :43:07.been lots of examples of Celtic being shaken out of their comfort

:43:08. > :43:12.zone. He is Patrick Roberts giving the ball away and descended with

:43:13. > :43:21.Aberdeen scoring. There's plenty of space around them, that's not a

:43:22. > :43:24.Celtic thing, to turn. Aberdeen win it, they then get the ball back

:43:25. > :43:29.down. This leads to the corner where they score the first goal. That's

:43:30. > :43:32.all because of Aberdeen shaking them out of their rhythm. It's a

:43:33. > :43:38.wonderful ball in the back, Leigh Griffiths drops his run and Jonny

:43:39. > :43:43.Hayes gets the goal. It's a good finish, but that all comes from

:43:44. > :43:46.Patrick Roberts being shaken, not showing the composure you would

:43:47. > :43:52.naturally associate with him, to take the ball down and get the ball

:43:53. > :43:57.past and playing. That is 100% Aberdeen's tactics working there. It

:43:58. > :44:04.was a bit of a switch from Celtic. I don't think by chance. It looked as

:44:05. > :44:07.though it was a worked on set piece when Jonny Hayes gets the

:44:08. > :44:14.opportunity. Leigh Griffiths definitely switches. Celtic get a

:44:15. > :44:21.great opportunity very quickly after. You see Ryan Jack playing in

:44:22. > :44:25.front of the back four. He had to maintain his position. Rather than

:44:26. > :44:29.getting sucked out of the ball. If he had maintained his position he

:44:30. > :44:32.would be able to shuffle across and stop Stuart Armstrong. In the back

:44:33. > :44:38.four, Logan and Taylor have got to get up on the ball quicker and stop

:44:39. > :44:42.that strike. Ryan Jack was holding his position, instead of getting

:44:43. > :44:45.dragged out, if he just shuffled across, the chance wouldn't have

:44:46. > :44:49.been there and they still would have been one up. At that moment you fear

:44:50. > :44:57.for Aberdeen. Celtic having equalised within two minutes.

:44:58. > :45:04.They have grew into the game again. You have an overload of waves of

:45:05. > :45:09.attack from Celtic. There wasn't. Aberdeen, there was a calmness about

:45:10. > :45:13.them. They have a belief, the game plan and you know, you could see

:45:14. > :45:21.what they wanted to do and what they were trying to put in practise and

:45:22. > :45:27.Celtic looked unruffled by it. They looked uncomfortable and flustered

:45:28. > :45:32.at times. It was from an Aberdeen point of view it was good the see.

:45:33. > :45:38.Flustered... You heard the coach there, saying it was potentially the

:45:39. > :45:41.most uncomfortable Celtic have been and Alan mentioned it. There is no

:45:42. > :45:44.question this is the most uncomfortable Celtic have been this

:45:45. > :45:49.season, I go back to the point. It is not down to Celtic playing poorly

:45:50. > :45:53.but down to Aberdeen implementing their tactics perfectly. And using

:45:54. > :45:59.the pressing game, which is what they have done from kick off. It has

:46:00. > :46:04.worked here. They have pushed, taken the chance, no doubt about them

:46:05. > :46:09.taking the chance, McLean pushed it up. Jonny Hayes as well is way up

:46:10. > :46:12.the park, you know, and even in the midfield areas, they have been

:46:13. > :46:21.hounding the ball, working very hard, they haven't given Celtic the

:46:22. > :46:25.opportunity. Three on three, he has to play the ball long. You would

:46:26. > :46:30.take that all day long, thumping the ball up the park from Gordon and you

:46:31. > :46:35.have got, you know, Considine, Taylor, Reynolds at the back.

:46:36. > :46:39.Sinclair or Robert, that is what you want from Aberdeen's perspective.

:46:40. > :46:42.Every time they have played Celtic, whenever they have gone to the

:46:43. > :46:47.player they have had their back to opposition goal. They have never

:46:48. > :46:50.been faced to go forward. From an Aberdeen point of view, they are

:46:51. > :46:55.happy to go in and press them tight ands for them away from the goal all

:46:56. > :46:59.the type. It has been good from Aberdeen. Celtic want to play a

:47:00. > :47:04.short sharp passing game. Go back to Aberdeen's goal which led, when

:47:05. > :47:06.Patrick Roberts got the ball. That is because psychologically it feels

:47:07. > :47:10.like he is under pressure there a guy up his backside when he gets the

:47:11. > :47:13.ball. You want Craig Gordon to be the one that is in control, free all

:47:14. > :47:17.the time and he is having to play it long. You can't allow players on the

:47:18. > :47:22.depence to step in and be on overload. Aberdeen have done it

:47:23. > :47:28.perfectly. Closing Celtic down and not giving them any time. You have

:47:29. > :47:35.been no to flash your elbow round Alan Stubbs. Was Stockley fortunate,

:47:36. > :47:40.was this deliberate? I think it's, if you look at his body movement

:47:41. > :47:50.just before impact. He turns and swivels. Whether he knows Kieran

:47:51. > :47:55.Tierney is that close to him, only he will know. I don't think it is an

:47:56. > :48:00.absolute deliberate elbow. I think he has turn and his elbow has caught

:48:01. > :48:05.him. If you have a Celtic fan you are saying it is sending off, if you

:48:06. > :48:12.are a Aberdeen fan you say it is not. It is in that area. He has a

:48:13. > :48:16.bit of a history Jayden Stockley, of using his elbows. On that occasion

:48:17. > :48:22.they are very close, it isn't one of these where it is high, it is almost

:48:23. > :48:27.his movement to turn into Tierney when he has caught him. To me it is

:48:28. > :48:30.borderline. The reef re-has a great vantage point. He doesn't see

:48:31. > :48:35.anything wrong. Neither does the rest of the official, you have to

:48:36. > :48:42.give the striker the benefit of the doubt. For some that will be a

:48:43. > :48:46.problem, but for Celtic you bring on Tom Rogic and shuttle McGregor

:48:47. > :48:51.further back. It is a loss for Celtic because Kieran Tierney is

:48:52. > :48:55.such an attacking threat down the left-hand side, McGregor is not

:48:56. > :48:59.naturally left-back. It's a big loss for Celtic. You get Tom Rogic on the

:49:00. > :49:02.park, the record he has got against Aberdeen, that will play in the

:49:03. > :49:05.minds of Brendan Rodgers making that substitution, knowing he has got a

:49:06. > :49:11.good record against Aberdeen. But losing Kieran Tierney is a massive

:49:12. > :49:17.blow nor Celtic. Shows on target is encouraging for Aberdeen. 4-2 with

:49:18. > :49:29.that late effort, here is a quick fire double from McGinn and Jack,

:49:30. > :49:33.forcing saves out of Craig Gordon. Aberdeen were overwhelms favourites

:49:34. > :49:37.in this stat. It was 4-0 before that, Celtic have had a couple of

:49:38. > :49:41.opportunity, this was a really good period for Aberdeen, you know, they

:49:42. > :49:46.really pinned Celtic back and they were defending at 18-yard line. That

:49:47. > :49:52.was the first corner they had put into the middle of the goal, which

:49:53. > :49:57.nearly resulted again in a goal. Goal. Anything that comes in from

:49:58. > :50:01.corners and free-kicks Aberdeen seem to be on the end of it. At half-time

:50:02. > :50:07.Brendan Rodgers has a big 15 minutes to turn this game round. You see the

:50:08. > :50:14.two strikes from McGinn, it is all because Aberdeen are on the front

:50:15. > :50:19.foot. Both of them. Niall McGinn not Jack McGinn. They are winning the

:50:20. > :50:23.ball, getting the strike off, rather than as we Spock about teams playing

:50:24. > :50:27.a containment and dropping off and allowing them to play. They are on

:50:28. > :50:32.the front foot. They are breaking it down and getting chances. We will

:50:33. > :50:37.let you know how Kieran Tierney is, he has gone to hospital so we will

:50:38. > :50:40.check on how he is later, we will get more information on that but a

:50:41. > :50:43.loss to this game. That is a real disappointment for a player who has

:50:44. > :50:49.been outstanding for Celtic this season. So is Scott Sinclair and I

:50:50. > :50:55.guess you had your money on him nailing this. It is a fantastic ball

:50:56. > :50:58.in. A real problem for a defender because it has real pace on it, you

:50:59. > :51:04.have no time to react, and what Scott is trying to do is trying to

:51:05. > :51:07.guide it. But as on impact he is Shriening back, that helped it lift

:51:08. > :51:12.over. But a fantastic ball. It is is a great ball. Taylor is a fortunate

:51:13. > :51:16.defender because he stretched his leg out. If he makes contact with

:51:17. > :51:22.that that bah it ends up in the back of net, no doubt. It goes by his

:51:23. > :51:28.foot. Falls to Sinclair. That is why it's a great ball. You can't leave

:51:29. > :51:34.it because you have striker who will tap it in. You have zero time to

:51:35. > :51:38.react with your neat, because it has been put in that quick, it is

:51:39. > :51:42.virtually, sometimes you look, you can say the defender should have

:51:43. > :51:49.been there, sometimes you have to go what a ball, that is one of them I

:51:50. > :51:53.think. We are uttering phrases about Celtic we haven't all season. We are

:51:54. > :51:57.seeing body language that tells you they are frustrated at the way the

:51:58. > :52:02.game is playing out. There is no question about it. If you are in a

:52:03. > :52:06.side who are used to finding the rhythm quickly, it has not happened

:52:07. > :52:10.today. There will be a level of us from traics, you saw Scott Brown and

:52:11. > :52:14.Derek McInnes having a few words when Jayden Stockley caught Kieran

:52:15. > :52:19.Tierney was his elbow. That gives you, an idea of what is going on,

:52:20. > :52:24.Celtic aren't happy, Brendan Rodgers has a massive 15 minutes to refocus

:52:25. > :52:29.Celtic, come up with another idea, another game plan how they will get

:52:30. > :52:32.past that initial press of Aberdeen and get the natural game going. It

:52:33. > :52:36.is an interest value Derek McInnes will give his players a good pat on

:52:37. > :52:40.the back with the emphasis on those words so far, because they have to

:52:41. > :52:44.maintain it. Absolutely. Everything has went to plan. You know, he has

:52:45. > :52:49.laid out that plan and these players have taken it out there on to the

:52:50. > :52:54.pitch. You know, they have sapped their strength. They will be asked

:52:55. > :52:58.for more in the second half. He will ask if they create a chance, two

:52:59. > :53:02.strikes from outside the box and a header from Stockley. Take the

:53:03. > :53:07.chances, the opportunity. They have Celtic rattled. Whether they can do

:53:08. > :53:09.that in the second half is the big question that has to be answered. It

:53:10. > :53:12.has to be answered by Brendan Rodgers, he has to do something to

:53:13. > :53:18.change the bah tern of this game, because if you are comparing the

:53:19. > :53:24.managers, then Derek McInnes has won the first half. Here is the story of

:53:25. > :53:28.the first 45, it ended up 50 minute, here at Hampden. Jonny Hayes

:53:29. > :53:34.sneaking in on the back of McGinn's corner kick. Partners in crime

:53:35. > :53:40.striking for the Dons, they weren't ahead for long and it was Stuart

:53:41. > :53:47.Armstrong on his left foot rifling the shot past Joe Lewis to have us

:53:48. > :53:52.level pegging half way through in this 2017 Scottish Cup Final at

:53:53. > :53:58.Hampden, and let us get back to the action, it has been pulsating so far

:53:59. > :54:03.and hopefully more of the same to come, 1-1 half way through, Stuart

:54:04. > :54:07.Armstrong cancelling out Jonny Hayes opening goal, back to the commentary

:54:08. > :54:11.with Steven Thompson and Liam MacLeod.

:54:12. > :54:19.Very interesting. This game of football.

:54:20. > :54:24.Showpiece final. Aberdeen, rejoin the party. It is the seventh time

:54:25. > :54:34.these two have met in the final of the Scottish Cup. Celtic won the

:54:35. > :54:42.first three, in 37, 54. Aberdeen have won the last three in 70, 84,

:54:43. > :54:45.in 1990. Aberdeen bossed this competition for a spell in the '80s,

:54:46. > :54:50.winning it three years in a row. They are the last club to do that,

:54:51. > :54:55.in each of those seasons they beat Celtic, once in the final, this is

:54:56. > :55:05.semis, beating Rangers in the two other finals.

:55:06. > :55:10.Who is lifting the Scottish Cup? A bit later than billed, because of

:55:11. > :55:14.the injury time, it is Aberdeen in the red, shooting towards their own

:55:15. > :55:25.fans in the west stand. Celtic likewise. Shooting east.

:55:26. > :55:28.Some news on Kieran Tierney, who you might have heard has gone to the

:55:29. > :55:35.hospital, we here he hasn't lost any teeth in that incident, in the first

:55:36. > :55:38.half. Gone through his top lip the challenge by Stockley. Aberdeen look

:55:39. > :55:49.to begin on the front foot. McGinn's ball.

:55:50. > :55:54.Brown. Here goes Rogic. Celtic were not finding the pockets

:55:55. > :56:00.of space, Steven, in that first half they were in the League Cup Final.

:56:01. > :56:04.No, and they have done all season. The question is, can Celtic be as

:56:05. > :56:08.poor as they were in the first half this second half? They are found a

:56:09. > :56:11.way all season to show a reaction when things haven't been going their

:56:12. > :56:16.way, they have always found their way, you know, as I said and the

:56:17. > :56:20.guys said in studio, I have not seen them as uncomfortable in a match as

:56:21. > :56:33.this. I haven't seen a team have as many efforts in goal. The goalkeeper

:56:34. > :56:42.has been busy. Jack.

:56:43. > :56:52.McLean. Lustig. These Celtic players know that history beckons.

:56:53. > :56:58.Hayes went early. Hayes went early.

:56:59. > :57:02., a brilliant ball in from McLean, he has had a fine match so far, it

:57:03. > :57:08.is a dangerous area, Aberdeen working the space very well again.

:57:09. > :57:18.And I think Hayes might have strayed offside but brilliant from McLean.

:57:19. > :57:25.Armstrong. Unchallenged at the moment. Rogic, to Roberts.

:57:26. > :57:44.Halted by Considine. ? Jack sticking to his task They

:57:45. > :57:52.have been so energy tech this Aberdeen side.

:57:53. > :57:57.At times Celtic have looked pedestrian by comparison. It can be

:57:58. > :58:03.draining all that running round, a very humid day in Glasgow south

:58:04. > :58:04.side. Selwyn a free kick. Very useful area for Leigh Griffiths to

:58:05. > :58:30.swing this in on top. Here he goes.

:58:31. > :58:35.Too high for Lustig. A good area from Griffiths. In

:58:36. > :58:52.Lustig is just an inch or two above him at full stretch.

:58:53. > :59:01.Simunovic was unlucky. He mistimed his jump. If Jonny Hayes had been

:59:02. > :59:06.alert he would have been through on Craig Gordon's goal. Quite a turn

:59:07. > :59:13.round for Aberdeen in the cup competition, reaching the first time

:59:14. > :59:20.for both since 2000. Going out at the first Hurd in first last term.

:59:21. > :59:29.McLean, to McGinn. Boyata.

:59:30. > :59:33.Sinclair, he has popped it through to Griffiths who has Rogic and

:59:34. > :59:39.Sinclair out on the left. Griffiths goes himself. Had to get deflection

:59:40. > :59:43.and it is a corner. Wow the deflection that might have gone in.

:59:44. > :59:50.Griffiths movement, good. He drifts out wide and comes in on his left

:59:51. > :59:53.foot. He has one thing in his mind, can I get a shot off? And spins

:59:54. > :59:58.round for a corner. Better from Celtic.

:59:59. > :00:20.Is Third corner of the match. It did come off Boyata. The

:00:21. > :00:31.goalkeeper will defuse the situation. Now it is Jack, who is on

:00:32. > :00:46.his own. The Aberdeen fans screaming for a free kick there. Just a throw.

:00:47. > :00:52.BOOING. Jonny Hayes took a knock earlier on when he won that ball

:00:53. > :00:57.when Aberdeen were pressing high. Scott Brown actually catches him

:00:58. > :01:09.high up in his hamstring. Yes, he did. Swung in... Almost. Stockley,

:01:10. > :01:13.didn't gamble. It's all about the quality of the cross. It's an

:01:14. > :01:19.unbelievable cross into the box. Stockley tries to get across that

:01:20. > :01:21.front post and he's just too late. The quality of the ball in from

:01:22. > :01:46.Kenny McLean is sublime. Celtic were 4-1 on to win the Cup

:01:47. > :02:07.this afternoon. Made to work for it, though. Here

:02:08. > :02:13.goes Rogic... Sinclair is in hair. Joe Lewis matches in. A good stop

:02:14. > :02:20.from Lewis. The movement of Scott Sinclair in behind was brilliant. He

:02:21. > :02:30.timed his run perfectly. A decent touch. It's a good save from Joe

:02:31. > :02:35.Lewis. What a ball by Rogic. Lewis has been a real find for Aberdeen

:02:36. > :02:44.this season. Griffiths with the corner away by McLean. Celtic trying

:02:45. > :02:53.to pin Aberdeen back but they will have two... McGregor has lost out to

:02:54. > :02:57.Hayes. He's got McLean screaming for it in the middle! What a let off for

:02:58. > :03:03.Celtic and specifically for Callum McGregor. What a waste. It comes

:03:04. > :03:09.from Scott Brown's poor pass to McGregor. Brilliant pressing from

:03:10. > :03:14.Jonny Hayes. He plays it behind him and Kenny can't quite reach it. A

:03:15. > :03:21.massive opportunity. You know what they say about taking your chances

:03:22. > :03:27.against Celtic. No team has created as many opportunities against Celtic

:03:28. > :03:35.and Aberdeen this afternoon. There goes Rogic. It's a free kick to

:03:36. > :03:40.Celtic. It's a silly one from Logan, diving in. It's a clear free kick

:03:41. > :03:47.and a really, really dangerous position. I think Armstrong will

:03:48. > :03:52.fancy this one. I think he makes the right decision to square it to Kenny

:03:53. > :03:58.but he can't react. You won't get a better chance in a final than that.

:03:59. > :04:06.The reaction from the Aberdeen fans just about summed it up. Celtic are

:04:07. > :04:15.looking to rub some salt in the what is a fresh wound. Armstrong or

:04:16. > :04:24.Griffiths? It's Griffiths and it's deflected. I thought Armstrong would

:04:25. > :04:33.have fancied this. It breaks through the wall. Luckily for Aberdeen spins

:04:34. > :04:45.past the post. 5-5 in the corner count. Away by McLean.

:04:46. > :05:02.Aberdeen are at their posts. Logan took a gamble. Griffiths couldn't

:05:03. > :05:09.find a team-mate. Extra time and penalties, if required today.

:05:10. > :05:17.Incredible to think that the Scottish Cup final occasionally went

:05:18. > :05:26.to two or three replays. Sometimes three Scottish Cup finals. Before

:05:27. > :05:29.extra time was the choice. Only twice has the Scottish Cup final on

:05:30. > :05:44.penalties. Aberdeen beat Celtic the first time. It is too high for

:05:45. > :05:52.Stockley. Good play a game by Aberdeen. Ryan Jack has had a fine

:05:53. > :06:41.game. Putting that one into the box. Just evades Stockley.

:06:42. > :06:48.Celtic missed out on the most dominant season in Europe ever in a

:06:49. > :06:55.league campaign. Paris Saint Gibran's margin of victory over Lyon

:06:56. > :06:57.and Monaco last season stands. Celtic 30 points ahead of Aberdeen

:06:58. > :07:16.at close of play last week. Well played by Aberdeen. Good work

:07:17. > :07:25.by McLean. Bobby Madden allowing the advantage here. Very composed

:07:26. > :07:31.performance by Ryan Jack today in his final game for this hometown

:07:32. > :07:38.team. There was a lot of pressure on him coming into the game. He's had a

:07:39. > :07:48.fine match so far. Great challenge by Hayes on Brown. Brown gets it

:07:49. > :07:56.back. Roberts... I think it was an Kenny McLean. He just had a wee

:07:57. > :08:01.nibble at Roberts and he goes down. It's what you want to see. It is a

:08:02. > :08:18.cup final after all. High stakes. Callum McGregor breathing a sigh of

:08:19. > :08:21.relief if you minutes back. Aberdeen really should have re-established

:08:22. > :08:29.their lead in this final. Here comes Celtic with Roberts. That's what

:08:30. > :08:34.we've been saying of Roberts all season. Just couldn't find the angle

:08:35. > :09:01.on: Shot. I wonder how long it'll be before we

:09:02. > :09:08.see Dembele coming on. Tick the words out of my mouth, he is warming

:09:09. > :09:25.up at the moment. How good was that? Brilliant from Shinnie. BOOING.

:09:26. > :09:32.Everyone knew that Aberdeen needed to turn up and Sun today to stand

:09:33. > :09:35.just a chance of winning this final. It needs to be an almost perfect

:09:36. > :09:40.performance. They can't have any players playing under par. And they

:09:41. > :09:49.aren't. Roberts isn't getting their... The one thing that will

:09:50. > :09:54.annoy Derek McInnes is that they should be 2-1 up. Absolutely, but it

:09:55. > :09:59.will also give them hope. They created a number of chances in the

:10:00. > :10:02.first half, you wondered Celtic would come out with a better

:10:03. > :10:05.performance in the second. It's marginally better from Celtic but

:10:06. > :10:10.Aberdeen are still the better side for me. There he is, Adam Rooney.

:10:11. > :10:20.He's going to get the last half hour. He'll have been disappointed

:10:21. > :10:23.not to start the match. He's had a fine season in terms of

:10:24. > :10:27.goal-scoring. Stockley was an obvious choice for Derek McInnes as

:10:28. > :10:30.he wanted to play a more direct style of football. If Aberdeen get

:10:31. > :10:32.another decent chance and it falls to Rooney, you can be guaranteed

:10:33. > :10:45.he'll take it. Brilliant touch by Armstrong and

:10:46. > :10:55.maybe a yellow for Taylor. It is. He knew it was out of position. It was

:10:56. > :10:57.cynical. If you're going to do that, I suppose it's not the worst area.

:10:58. > :11:20.Here's Armstrong. He presented the ball to consider --

:11:21. > :11:26.Considine there. Beyond the hour mark at the National Stadium. Hayes

:11:27. > :11:38.and Armstrong exchanging goals in the space of a couple of minutes.

:11:39. > :11:50.That's where this game stands. Classy from Ryan Jack. A foul by

:11:51. > :11:56.Lustig on Shinnie. Stockley will come off and will be replaced by

:11:57. > :12:00.Adam Rooney, the first man since Joe Harper to score 20 or more goals in

:12:01. > :12:06.three successive seasons for Aberdeen. And a fabulous signing.

:12:07. > :12:21.He's been such a callous man for them. Derek McInnes feels it is time

:12:22. > :12:26.for his top scorer. I think that would always have been his plan. To

:12:27. > :12:39.bring an Rooney for the last half an hour.

:12:40. > :12:52.Celtic have seen more of the ball in the last five minutes or so.

:12:53. > :13:04.Armstrong is round Logan, Armstrong! Joe Lewis beats it away. Innovative

:13:05. > :13:13.play from Armstrong, he's right to take the shot on. A decent stop from

:13:14. > :13:20.Lewis. Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele has been Brendan Rodgers

:13:21. > :13:27.start players this season. It has been an improvement in some of those

:13:28. > :13:30.already there that has been so startling for Celtic this season,

:13:31. > :13:34.Stuart Armstrong is one of them. Scott Brown is another, although I

:13:35. > :13:37.think you'll be disappointed with his performance today. He has

:13:38. > :13:39.managed to get a grip of the game in the man and he normally does and

:13:40. > :14:06.dictate things. Roberts, swaying away from Reynolds.

:14:07. > :14:14.And again. He's unlucky! What a hit that was from Roberts. We know this

:14:15. > :14:19.is what he's capable of and loves to come on. I think Joe Lewis gets a

:14:20. > :14:30.fingertip on this. He touches only the post, that's a fantastic save.

:14:31. > :14:37.Just under 50,000 inside Hampden Park for this one. Griffiths takes

:14:38. > :14:42.the corner. Lustig! Two big, big chances for Celtic in quick

:14:43. > :14:47.succession. Joe Lewis does well to get a fingertip on it. He can't get

:14:48. > :14:55.a connection away. I think Joe Lewis has heard himself, maybe an awkward

:14:56. > :15:07.landing. He can't quite get enough on his shot to directed goal would,

:15:08. > :15:10.Lustig. Fantastic goalkeeping. He was almost ready for his trademark

:15:11. > :15:17.celebration, Brendan Rodgers. Not quite.

:15:18. > :15:30.We know Patrick Roberts has mash of brilliance in -- flashes of

:15:31. > :15:39.brilliance in him. He has been so good, Joe Lewis for Aberdeen this

:15:40. > :15:44.season. He really has. What is he thinking just now? I

:15:45. > :15:48.think he is really comfortable. I think he is pleased. He will be

:15:49. > :15:51.pleased his keeper is smiling. Hopefully he will think his

:15:52. > :15:58.goalkeeper is back on his feet now. That is good news for Aberdeen.

:15:59. > :16:02.Derek has been dids you, to do what no other team in Scotland has

:16:03. > :16:05.managed to do, and so far it has, whoed but they have to go Orr the

:16:06. > :16:09.final hurdle. You wonder if they will get another big chance in the

:16:10. > :16:13.match they have had several opportunities in the last ten

:16:14. > :16:16.minutes it has been Celtic who have had better of the opportunities. If

:16:17. > :16:29.Aberdeen get another one you feel they have to take it.

:16:30. > :16:37.Brown fouls Shinnie. That was a very cynical foul from

:16:38. > :16:51.Scott Brown. He knowship is past him. That is is a booking all day.

:16:52. > :16:55.I think the Aberdeen fans they saw Taylor get booked for a cynical

:16:56. > :17:08.foul. That was equally cynical and should have been a booking.

:17:09. > :17:13.About to go into the final quarter of this Will ham hill Scottish Cup

:17:14. > :17:18.Final. 1-1. Considine wins it. Taylor couldn't get there as the

:17:19. > :17:27.dark clouds roll in above here in Glasgow.

:17:28. > :17:33.The rain beginning to tumble down. Shinnie, cleverly away from Roberts.

:17:34. > :17:39.Well like Patrick Roberts Jonny Hayes is capable from there.

:17:40. > :17:43.Taylor took one in the ribs as the corner came in, he seems to be

:17:44. > :17:45.struggling. Hopefully for Aberdeen he is just winded and the rain is

:17:46. > :17:55.now torrential here at Hampden. Through the rain the Celtic

:17:56. > :18:02.supporters are doing what they have done all season, and celebrating the

:18:03. > :18:12.1967 team, in the 67th minute. 50 years on. From their finest moment.

:18:13. > :18:19.Well celebrated this week. Sinclair, he is away from two. And that from

:18:20. > :18:24.Griffiths is not the fitting tribute to the 67 side. No, initially really

:18:25. > :18:27.good play from Sinclair, cuts in to the box, he is trying to get his

:18:28. > :18:31.shot off, his can't. He finds Griffiths on the edge of the box and

:18:32. > :18:36.he is leaning back, it is always going over the bar after that. You

:18:37. > :18:39.wonder whether that will be his final involvement of any importance.

:18:40. > :18:48.I would expect to see Dembele very soon.

:18:49. > :18:56.Hayes goes down and it was a free kick. It was Simunovic.

:18:57. > :19:00.Yes, a clear foul. It is really rash from Simunovic, he is going nowhere,

:19:01. > :19:04.let him take his touch. Follow him into the corner try and make him put

:19:05. > :19:08.out for a throw in and depend him. It is stupid. It gives Aberdeen the

:19:09. > :19:12.opportunity to put the ball into the Celtic box. Aberdeen have won a

:19:13. > :19:29.number of headers here in this box. Hayes and McGinn. Conspire. McLean

:19:30. > :19:35.does get a touch but it is going nowhere.

:19:36. > :19:41.This time, he makes a decent run, but it is a terrible angle for him.

:19:42. > :19:47.He might have been better served to scoop it with his right foot a her

:19:48. > :19:52.than his left. A difficult chance. Only smudges in the Celtic copy book

:19:53. > :19:56.four draws in the Premiership. Here is Rogic who has beaten

:19:57. > :20:00.Reynolds to it. And now it is Roberts. Griffs and

:20:01. > :20:05.Sinclair waiting in the middle and Taylor gets there.

:20:06. > :20:09.Top class defending from Taylor. Initially Rogic does well to hold it

:20:10. > :20:12.up up. If you are going to stand it to the back post make sure it gets

:20:13. > :20:27.to the back post but brilliant defending from Taylor.

:20:28. > :20:37.A free header for Boyata! Boyata! Celtic are creating the better

:20:38. > :20:41.opportunities in the last 10, 15 minute, good delivery. He really

:20:42. > :20:43.must score. That goings down as a big, big miss. You have to hit the

:20:44. > :20:47.target as Leith. target as Leith.

:20:48. > :20:57.-- at least. Dedryck Boyata scored twice against

:20:58. > :21:00.Aberdeen this season from headers. Missing out as Rooney gives chase.

:21:01. > :21:06.Gordon is there. Guarding the back.

:21:07. > :21:12.O'Connor is coming on in a moment for Aberdeen.

:21:13. > :21:17.Seems as though McGinn is the player who is going to come off.

:21:18. > :21:23.Just in behind Armstrong but he has done well to regain it. With 19 to

:21:24. > :21:30.play. Celtic 1, Aberdeen 1. Sinclair. Not

:21:31. > :21:36.happening for him today. As yet. Someone is going to have to have the

:21:37. > :21:40.final say. Rooney misunderstanding and there is

:21:41. > :21:45.not many of them between Adam Rooney and Jonny Hayes. Yes, he thinks

:21:46. > :22:08.Hayes is going to meet the diagonal run but he stayed central.

:22:09. > :22:16.If it is McGinn who is coming off for Aberdeen, it will be the end of

:22:17. > :22:22.his Aberdeen career by the looks of thing, unless he has a change of

:22:23. > :22:26.heart. Brown to Roberts.

:22:27. > :22:32.It is Patrick Roberts, well done there from Graeme Shinnie.

:22:33. > :22:36.So difficult for a defender when Patrick Roberts is coming at them.

:22:37. > :22:40.Jack, for Rooney, who is in a great position. Sizing the goal up ahead

:22:41. > :22:47.of him. It was closed down by McGregor.

:22:48. > :22:51.Should Rooney have done it quicker? Yes, a great break from Aberdeen.

:22:52. > :22:55.First touch has it bad, second touch he hesitates and it gives McGregor

:22:56. > :23:00.the chance to come back and make a fantastic sliding challenge. But

:23:01. > :23:06.yes, that is where he misses that pace in the final third to take the

:23:07. > :23:12.touch out and get the shot off. McGinn who scored that memorable

:23:13. > :23:15.goal for Northern Ireland in Lyon, against Ukraine at the European

:23:16. > :23:22.Championship finals last year. He will take the corner.

:23:23. > :23:31.Taken away from Rooney by Lustig. This has gone straight to Shinnie.

:23:32. > :23:38.He couldn't resist the shot and why not? That opened up for Graeme

:23:39. > :23:41.Shinnie, he takes a brilliant first touch and dives forward. We have

:23:42. > :23:46.seen him score from that range before. Craig Gordon has a decent

:23:47. > :23:49.save to tip it around the post. Celtic were heavy favourites coming

:23:50. > :23:59.intoy this, but now you feel it could go either way. -- into.

:24:00. > :24:02.McGinn takes again. It has broken out for Roberts but he

:24:03. > :24:10.can't find a team-mate this is Griffiths.

:24:11. > :24:19.Shinnie. Cut down by Roberts. Derek McInnes is kicking every ball down

:24:20. > :24:23.there. It looks like Niall McGinn's

:24:24. > :24:29.Aberdeen career will end prematurely. And what a contribution

:24:30. > :24:36.he has made to that club, since Craig Brown signed him almost five

:24:37. > :24:40.years ago. Former Celtic man. And he comes off having served Aberdeen

:24:41. > :24:45.with distinction, with goals, with assist s and it looks as though his

:24:46. > :24:50.time is up. O'Connor comes on, similar change to the one Derek

:24:51. > :24:55.McInnes made in the semi against Hibs when he took Christie off and

:24:56. > :25:07.replaced him with O'Connor. We are into the final 15 here. Hayes take,

:25:08. > :25:13.too close to Gordon, and it is. It was too floaty the Paul. A very

:25:14. > :25:17.easy take for Craig Gordon. He has taken off an attacking player and

:25:18. > :25:23.brought on a defensive minded player, maybe with the idea that

:25:24. > :25:30.Celtic have come in more attacking. Striking a balance isn't it.

:25:31. > :25:35.It is balance they have struck, decent fashion. In the 75 minutes

:25:36. > :25:40.that have comen and gone, in this Scottish Cup Final.

:25:41. > :25:46.Scott Brown. To Armstrong, to Rogic.

:25:47. > :25:51.O'Connor's first act is to try and stick to Tom Rogic. He loses out to

:25:52. > :25:55.Jack. Aberdeen are getting joy down that far side. That is where they're

:25:56. > :26:01.two big opportunities really in this second half have come. Kths" injured

:26:02. > :26:09.in the first half -- Kieran Tierney injured in the first half.

:26:10. > :26:19.Hayes. Gordon holds on. Could have been awkward given the conditions.

:26:20. > :26:29.Taylor is delighted the ball pop out to him otherwise Sinclair is away.

:26:30. > :26:35.Griffithings might be away here. It is on his right side at the moment.

:26:36. > :26:39.Great save. Sinclair. That was a fabulous save. Not for

:26:40. > :26:46.the first time this afternoon. Griffiths again.

:26:47. > :26:52.Oh, you can hear the screams Downes on the pitch, of frustration. Lustig

:26:53. > :26:58.made this overlap and run on the you side S it had at shot on goal. It's

:26:59. > :27:05.a good strike from Griffiths and a brilliant one handed save.

:27:06. > :27:13.Sensational save. He has a few of them. Joe Lewis, Aberdeen last

:27:14. > :27:22.season felt the departure of Danny Ward back to Liverpool after his

:27:23. > :27:26.lone spell. Spell. He loan spell, he was summoned by Jurgen Klopp.

:27:27. > :27:30.Aberdeen had Scott Brown in goal. They felt that Ward was the better

:27:31. > :27:35.option, lost Adam Rooney towards the end of the season as well. That

:27:36. > :27:43.didn't help matters as they tried to pull Diyala's Celtic for the title.

:27:44. > :27:57.-- Delia's Celtic for the title. More the minutes take away, the more

:27:58. > :28:05.the nerves jangle. The thicker the tension and we are down to about 12

:28:06. > :28:09.minutes. You are playing in a Cup Final.

:28:10. > :28:18.There is 12 minutes left. It is all square, how do you feel? Feel? I

:28:19. > :28:22.think you are just trying to remain focussed and that is one thing

:28:23. > :28:27.Aberdeen have been the whole of this match. Focussed.

:28:28. > :28:32.Getting to point where anything that happens is dramatic t as we saw a

:28:33. > :28:36.year ago. Aberdeen have put so much into the game and they will be

:28:37. > :28:39.feeling tired now, but sometimes when you are tired your

:28:40. > :28:44.concentration levels can drop. It is very important that you keep the

:28:45. > :28:48.concentration levels up as Celtic push to get this goal. Look at

:28:49. > :28:59.Considine sticking to Roberts where ever he goes. Shea Logan was doing

:29:00. > :29:04.that earlier this season. McGregor, to Roberts. Away it goes. Celtic

:29:05. > :29:12.have Aberdeen pinned back against the ropes here.

:29:13. > :29:19.Rogic. Looking for the knock out blow.

:29:20. > :29:24.Griffiths did so well there. It is is a good ball for inClaire. And

:29:25. > :29:30.another chance comes and goes. For the Player of the Year. Scott

:29:31. > :29:36.Sinclair has missed two sitters, one right at the end of the first half

:29:37. > :29:42.and that one there, it is as if it gets stuck under his foot as he goes

:29:43. > :29:46.to volley init to the net. Both teams have missed gilt-edged

:29:47. > :29:51.opportunities in the second half. That could have been the cup. That

:29:52. > :30:01.could have been the treble for Scott Sinclair.

:30:02. > :30:13.Aberdeen are sitting a bit deep in the Derek McInnes' comfort. I always

:30:14. > :30:20.feel if you sit in, you invite Celtic with their quality, then

:30:21. > :30:28.eventually break you down. Jack reacts. Rooney makes it stick. Now

:30:29. > :30:36.it's Shinnie. Bundled over, was he? No, says Bobby Madden. He's happy

:30:37. > :30:53.with that. Logan blocks from Rogic. Aberdeen survive. Shinnie is loose

:30:54. > :30:57.with the past. Making a wrong decision again, fatigue coming in

:30:58. > :31:05.again. They had a good counter on with at least three or four players.

:31:06. > :31:21.Wrong decisions. Less than ten to play. It's Roberts' ball.

:31:22. > :31:36.It's Leigh Griffiths! Its wide. Its good play by Leigh Griffiths again.

:31:37. > :31:42.He hasn't quite got his eye in, as yet. That was a great ball in for

:31:43. > :31:47.Sinclair, who will feel he should... He absolutely should have. It just

:31:48. > :31:52.gets caught under his foot. With his technique you expect him just a

:31:53. > :31:59.slide that passed Joe Lewis. Scott Sinclair is playing his 50th game of

:32:00. > :32:05.the season today. Craig Gordon in goal, 54. Despite his missing a few

:32:06. > :32:07.matches in the autumn, he has more appearances this season than any of

:32:08. > :32:24.the other Celtic players. Aberdeen are beginning to encourage

:32:25. > :32:28.Celtic onto them and that might not be the best ploy, if indeed it is a

:32:29. > :32:37.ploy. They put so much into this, it's been a sweat soaked shift for

:32:38. > :32:43.Aberdeen. I think it's fatigue. They've given so much. McGregor has

:32:44. > :32:49.pulled it back for Roberts! Corner only. Celtic are turning the screw.

:32:50. > :32:54.Aberdeen are defending well. They threw their bodies on the line.

:32:55. > :33:04.These last ten minutes have been difficult for them. Celtic fans will

:33:05. > :33:09.try and suck the ball in to the net here. Just over seven left, plus

:33:10. > :33:29.stoppages. at the stage now where a goal could

:33:30. > :33:33.win you the Cup. Away by Rooney. Hayes waiting for a team-mate to

:33:34. > :33:39.help him out. Might have been better to just get rid of it. Foul by

:33:40. > :33:46.Logan, Celtic free kick. They will continue to knock on the Aberdeen

:33:47. > :33:50.doors. He's received that ball. He's expending so much energy he chose

:33:51. > :34:01.not to do anything and allowed Celtic to win the ball back. The

:34:02. > :34:06.momentum shifted with Celtic now. You do not want to be losing cup

:34:07. > :34:16.finals, at this stage. Winning them, it would be so dramatic. A chance

:34:17. > :34:32.again for Celtic. It's Lustig. Aberdeen can't get out here. Way off

:34:33. > :34:36.target. That was another big opportunity the Lustig. I don't know

:34:37. > :34:39.what he did with his header. You think he's going to knock this down

:34:40. > :34:44.into the ground, it's almost as if it ends up being behind him. He

:34:45. > :34:48.misjudges the header and it's another really, really big chance.

:34:49. > :34:55.There's been a lot of big chances in this final. They are all coming

:34:56. > :35:01.Celtic's way. Jonny Hayes is struggling. Aberdeen can ill afford

:35:02. > :35:19.to lose their talismans. Reynolds reads it. A respite for the Aberdeen

:35:20. > :35:26.defence here. Not for long. There's Rogic. He steps away from Reynolds.

:35:27. > :35:33.He's backtracking. The referee lets it go. Final five minutes of the

:35:34. > :35:38.William Hill Scottish Cup final, all square, Hayes Aberdeen, Armstrong

:35:39. > :35:48.equalised less than two minutes later. We'll wait to find out what

:35:49. > :36:10.the final chapters will yield. Stormy conditions above.

:36:11. > :36:15.the possibility to be bit relaxed, there is

:36:16. > :36:31.There will be concern on the Aberdeen bench for the way this

:36:32. > :36:38.final is going. Brendan Rodgers encouraging his team on. It's

:36:39. > :36:50.Roberts away by Reynolds. Celtic are in total control. Have Aberdeen run

:36:51. > :37:02.out of gas right at the death? Patrick Roberts. Derek McInnes is

:37:03. > :37:04.down on the touchline demanding his players get higher up the pitch. He

:37:05. > :37:34.knows they are inviting Celtic on. Logan putting pressure on Armstrong.

:37:35. > :37:45.This is hard work for Aberdeen right now. He's an side, Griffiths.

:37:46. > :37:49.Tormenting Reynolds. Away by Jack. Excellent play by Griffiths. I feel

:37:50. > :37:53.Patrick Roberts should have gambled earlier to make his way into the

:37:54. > :38:04.box. You know from that angle it's going to be a cutback cross.

:38:05. > :38:11.It's Roberts! Aberdeen are swimming against the tide here. It's

:38:12. > :38:30.threatening to swamp them. Two minutes of the 90 to play.

:38:31. > :38:34.Aberdeen might be happy with extra time despite the fact it's been

:38:35. > :38:43.energy draining, it's been energy sapping on them. Hayes is tired

:38:44. > :38:52.looking there. Tom rocket ship. -- Tom Rogic. It's Sinclair! Great

:38:53. > :38:56.interplay again from Celtic. Some of their passing in this last 20

:38:57. > :39:04.minutes has been excellent. Sinclair again couldn't find the angle for

:39:05. > :39:18.his shot. Can you stand it? Can you stand it.

:39:19. > :39:29.The final minute, plus whatever Bobby Madden wants to add on at the

:39:30. > :39:32.end. Celtic have won all but four domestic games this season. They

:39:33. > :39:37.still picked up points in the other ones. The only reason they didn't

:39:38. > :39:52.win at least two of those was because of an inspired goal keeping

:39:53. > :39:56.performance. They've been imperious, Aberdeen, trying to keep them at

:39:57. > :40:01.arms length but it's getting harder and harder with every passing minute

:40:02. > :40:05.for the Dons. Celtic collect a corner right at the end of the 90

:40:06. > :40:09.minutes. Its exceptional running from Leigh Griffiths. It was a long

:40:10. > :40:13.ball from the goalkeeper. To have that energy in the last minute of

:40:14. > :40:18.the game, to go and win the corner for your team was superb. Three

:40:19. > :40:22.minutes of injury time to play. Celtic click to collect their third

:40:23. > :40:29.honour of the season. Griffiths takes it. Lewis... He's been fouled

:40:30. > :40:34.which takes the pressure right off Aberdeen, who are here to spoil what

:40:35. > :40:40.many felt would be a Celtic party. It might still be but Aberdeen had

:40:41. > :40:44.stepped up to the plate today. Derek McInnes will be desperate for the

:40:45. > :40:50.final whistle so he can regroup with his players for a couple of minutes,

:40:51. > :40:54.get some fluids in. And just get a respite from what has been an

:40:55. > :41:01.onslaught for the last 15 minutes. The red Army behind Craig Gordon's

:41:02. > :41:12.goal doing their best to roll Aberdeen on. To at least extra time.

:41:13. > :41:16.Considine. We haven't had extra time in the Scottish Cup final since

:41:17. > :41:21.2006. Looked like we were getting it last year. Is there to be a late

:41:22. > :41:34.winner this time around? Here is Rogic, two to play. It's Tom Rogic!

:41:35. > :41:40.CHEERING Celtic get the treble and it's about

:41:41. > :41:48.to be duly delivered in the most spectacular and dramatic fashion!

:41:49. > :41:54.Tom Rogic does it again. The Aberdeen players half broken, they

:41:55. > :41:58.are on their knees, they've put so much into this game. It looks like

:41:59. > :42:02.it would take a moment of brilliance from a player to win it for Celtic.

:42:03. > :42:13.This was certainly brilliant from Rogic. Albeit a bit easy for me.

:42:14. > :42:23.Tired, tired legs. Joe Lewis has kept him out all match. He couldn't

:42:24. > :42:28.stop this one. It is Tom Roderick's fourth goal against Aberdeen this

:42:29. > :42:38.season. He keeps doing it, as does that man -- Tom Rogic. Celtic have

:42:39. > :42:51.only managed to win three troubles in their entire history. -- trebles.

:42:52. > :42:57.The impact Brendan Rodgers is right up there. The Aberdeen supporters

:42:58. > :43:05.know it is done now, surely. What a way to do it, what a way to end the

:43:06. > :43:10.season of their dreams. For 70 minutes they gave absolutely

:43:11. > :43:16.everything they had to this game. They were exhausted come the last

:43:17. > :43:20.ten, 15 minutes there. You felt there was an inevitability about

:43:21. > :43:25.Celtic's goal coming. Joe Lewis had kept them out with a string of

:43:26. > :43:32.exceptional saves. In the end, the pressure was too much. Scott Wright

:43:33. > :43:42.on fat Aberdeen, Sviatchenko on for Celtic. Do Aberdeen have anything

:43:43. > :43:46.left? An extra minutes of added time because of the celebrations that

:43:47. > :43:52.understandably greeted that Rogic goal. Taylor wins the header and

:43:53. > :44:02.Gordon holds an! Free kick to Celtic. Taylor wins it well and

:44:03. > :44:15.Rooney is an inch away from getting an equaliser.

:44:16. > :44:27.It's all but done for the Dons, who put so much into this final. They

:44:28. > :44:35.will get credit for it. That will be no crumb of comfort for Derek

:44:36. > :44:41.McInnes 's side. Celtic are standing on the shoulder of Giants! CHEERING

:44:42. > :44:49.The season of their dreams. Ends in the most dramatic style. Brendan

:44:50. > :44:57.Rodgers is a treble winning Celtic manager. The league, the League Cup

:44:58. > :45:01.and now the Scottish Cup, as clean a sweep as you can get. Not a single

:45:02. > :45:13.defeat in any of those competitions, and Brendan Rodgers ensures

:45:14. > :45:21.immortality status at Celtic. Rogic wins the day, Rogic wins the Cup. It

:45:22. > :45:25.is Rogic who scripts tomorrow morning's headlines. At the end of a

:45:26. > :45:30.week that has celebrated the greatest team in Celtic's history,

:45:31. > :45:33.the current wearers of the green and white hoops will now rightly take

:45:34. > :45:39.their place among the legendary figures at Parkhead.

:45:40. > :45:45.Aberdeen didn't have quite enough today. But then no-one has had

:45:46. > :45:53.enough all subpoena to match Celtic domestically.

:45:54. > :45:59.A stunning campaign. And Tom Rogic pops up, with yet another goal

:46:00. > :46:07.against Aberdeen. McLean and his team-mates put so much into this

:46:08. > :46:12.one. A heartbreaking finale for Aberdeen.

:46:13. > :46:17.Who will go through a big summer, a summer of change that they haven't

:46:18. > :46:25.experienced in recent times. Adam Rooney who didn't start today, will

:46:26. > :46:29.wonder what might have been. We dehear from one of the Celtic heroes

:46:30. > :46:36.now, the man who equalised o the day. Stuart Armstrong is with Chris

:46:37. > :46:41.McLoughlin. Can you quite believe it We had belief. I the you saw in the

:46:42. > :46:44.second half we grew in confidence in our passing, and we created chance

:46:45. > :46:49.after chance, I thought, as the game went on we were going to get one,

:46:50. > :46:54.and Tom has done magnificent for the goal. I thought we got what we

:46:55. > :47:00.deserved at the end. Did you think at times it was going to be one

:47:01. > :47:05.those days? Maybe, maybe it is not going to be your day but we kept

:47:06. > :47:08.going and you know, let that sink in we have managed to do it.

:47:09. > :47:17.Congratulations, enjoy your night. Thank you.

:47:18. > :47:24.Just the 47 domestic matches unbeaten for Brendan Rodgers, and

:47:25. > :47:29.his team, a number of 47 means only the fourth treble in Celtic history.

:47:30. > :47:33.A couple for Jock Stein. One for Martin O'Neill featuring Alan Stubbs

:47:34. > :47:41.with us in the studio and now one for Brendan Rodgers. What a

:47:42. > :47:46.performance, all season long, but what a painful moment for Aberdeen,

:47:47. > :47:51.deep into stoppage time. A couple of minutes added when Tom Rogic scored

:47:52. > :47:57.his fourth of the campaign, against the Dons, to give Celtic the

:47:58. > :48:01.Scottish Cup. Yes Yes for one moment it looked like it was going to go

:48:02. > :48:05.into extra time. Celtic were a different team in the second half.

:48:06. > :48:10.They looked everybody though I don't think they have played as, they have

:48:11. > :48:14.played better, but the second half performance was more like them, you

:48:15. > :48:19.know e and as the game was going on, they were started to -- starting to

:48:20. > :48:22.create a lot of chances, and Aberdeen couldn't get out at all.

:48:23. > :48:26.They just couldn't keep the ball long enough to give themselves a

:48:27. > :48:33.breather. Those are emotional scenes. Aberdeen can take a lot of

:48:34. > :48:37.pride from their performance, we will maybe get to Will will in a

:48:38. > :48:43.moment on the Aberdeen angle on this. This. It is all about

:48:44. > :48:47.celebration for Celtic. Tom Rogic, before you join the celebrations,

:48:48. > :48:52.sum up your emotions as that ball hit the back of the net. It is hard

:48:53. > :48:58.to put into words. What a dream moment. We have been working so hard

:48:59. > :49:04.this season, we knew what was at stake, we knew what it meant to the

:49:05. > :49:08.fans. Sum up what it means to be treble winning invincibles. It is

:49:09. > :49:13.unbelievable. People think these couple competitions are easier than

:49:14. > :49:17.they are, but, to go through the whole season unbeaten domestically

:49:18. > :49:20.shows the quality we have and how around we have been working we

:49:21. > :49:29.deserve nothing less. Party time? Exactly. Congratulations. We reflect

:49:30. > :49:34.on both sides of the store I. It is jubilation, delight, a moment of

:49:35. > :49:39.history for Celtic and they will rightly lap it all up, but mixed in

:49:40. > :49:44.along the way those pictures of Aberdeen players in tears. I think

:49:45. > :49:48.so, congratulations Celtic, it has been a magnificent season, and

:49:49. > :49:53.towards the end of the game, that was a real Celtic, wasn't it, they

:49:54. > :49:56.were too much for Aberdeen. The players in the red jerseys can be

:49:57. > :50:00.proud of their performance. Performance. I think the manager can

:50:01. > :50:04.be very proud. Tactics, and the first half in particular worked a

:50:05. > :50:08.treat. Second half, not so well. They had opportunities in the first

:50:09. > :50:13.half, but so did Celtic in the second half. Just on half-time,

:50:14. > :50:16.second half, plenty of tonnes. Let us hear from the Celtic captain

:50:17. > :50:20.Scott Brown. Congratulations, congratulations I am sure that is a

:50:21. > :50:24.career high for you. This is exceptional. For this season to go

:50:25. > :50:27.all the way through the league, without getting defeated and to win

:50:28. > :50:32.two trophies and to clear up the treble. The best feeling we could

:50:33. > :50:35.experience. Can you sum up how you felt when that ball hit the back of

:50:36. > :50:40.the net? Relief. I never thought it was going to come. Air gave us a

:50:41. > :50:43.great game. They have been outstanding, they got to two Cup

:50:44. > :50:48.Finals and chases news the league. League. Fair play, we knew our

:50:49. > :50:52.fitness levels would kick in and we scored a goal and it was a great bit

:50:53. > :50:57.of play by Tom Rogic again. Talk to me about your pride standing here

:50:58. > :51:01.taking the adulation of the fans. This is the best feeling ever. You

:51:02. > :51:05.couldn't expect anything better. It is a huge fact every one of these

:51:06. > :51:09.behind the dressing room, the staff, that has worked hard all through the

:51:10. > :51:15.season s what we dedicated all there the season is phenomenal.

:51:16. > :51:19.Congratulations. Cheers. It has been compelling viewing, all

:51:20. > :51:24.way through all 98, 99 minutes of it. Michael Stewart's Celtic have a

:51:25. > :51:29.habit of finding a way to win. Fitness levels, you know, he spoke

:51:30. > :51:33.about that last week, that the difference from last season to this

:51:34. > :51:36.season is fitness levels, and so many occasions this season they have

:51:37. > :51:40.ground the team out, playing good football, but they are able to

:51:41. > :51:43.maintain that intensity, you saw Aberdeen putting everything into the

:51:44. > :51:48.first half but they couldn't maintain that intensity in the

:51:49. > :51:53.second half. You know, the story is, a treble for Celtic, unbelievable

:51:54. > :51:58.achievement, undefeated, all the credit has to go to Celtic, and in

:51:59. > :52:03.this game and this season, obviously we will look at the dynamics of the

:52:04. > :52:08.game and how things bore out and Celtic won it. Aberdeen played a big

:52:09. > :52:12.part in it. All the credit has to go to Celtic for an unbelievable

:52:13. > :52:15.season. The worry Alan Stubbs for everyone else is that Celtic are

:52:16. > :52:19.going to get better. I think that is guaranteed. It is a worry but if you

:52:20. > :52:25.look at the managers it is a great challenge. It is an incentive: It

:52:26. > :52:30.has to be. Celtic have been way ahead of anybody this year and you

:52:31. > :52:35.know, they deserve a lot of credit, they will get all the adulations.

:52:36. > :52:38.Glt that is Patrick Roberts of course with Kieran Tierney's shirt

:52:39. > :52:43.on as a tribute to his pal of course who was taken away to hospital after

:52:44. > :52:50.that painful looking bang in mouth he got. Every Celtic player, a hero

:52:51. > :52:54.here today. Yes. Echeverria though Celtic have won it, Aberdeen have

:52:55. > :53:00.showed today they can put up with a challenge. They have caused Celtic

:53:01. > :53:05.today what no-one else has done this season. You know, they have really

:53:06. > :53:11.questioned them. And it has been, they have had to dig deep. Look at

:53:12. > :53:16.that emotion spilling out. Second prides again for Aberdeen. Yes, they

:53:17. > :53:22.have been here recently, losing the League Cup Final, as they did under

:53:23. > :53:28.Willie Milner the early 0s Aberdeen runs up in all three competitions,

:53:29. > :53:31.this campaign. But the job that Derek McInnes has done, has been

:53:32. > :53:37.nothing short of remarkable. I make no mistake they put it up to Celtic

:53:38. > :53:41.today. They have been left heartbroken.

:53:42. > :53:46.Ryan Jack has played his last game for the club. He is off. There are

:53:47. > :53:52.reports he might end up at Ibrox, keep an eye on that one. Celtic will

:53:53. > :54:00.get their moment very soon. Peter Pawlett is off to MK Dons, he didn't

:54:01. > :54:05.play a part today. Niall McGinn was in tear, he is off is certainly the

:54:06. > :54:10.indication. So it will be a big rebuilding job for Derek McInnes,

:54:11. > :54:21.whereas this Celtic side will get stronger. They will aim for the

:54:22. > :54:26.Champions League. They grew inthat campaign this year and Derek McInnes

:54:27. > :54:30.will hope to sign the right players over the summer there, they have an

:54:31. > :54:33.interest in the former Celtic man Shaun Maloney, and that is the kind

:54:34. > :54:38.of player you feel Aberdeen will have to bring in, if they are going

:54:39. > :54:44.to give Celtic a go again next season. Scott Brown, a decade a

:54:45. > :54:54.Celtic player. You can see what it means to him. Too powerful to be

:54:55. > :55:01.defeated or overcome and that that has certainly be the case, yes they

:55:02. > :55:04.lost some games in Europe. Lisbon Lions here to watch on, of

:55:05. > :55:09.course. They have all be in and around the

:55:10. > :55:12.club recently. The 50th anniversary of that famous triumph, likes of

:55:13. > :55:20.Willie Wallace, John Clark you saw there.

:55:21. > :55:31.And the great Billy McNeill. Scott Brown, he begins one off the finest

:55:32. > :55:40.walks in football. What a season it has been from the heat of Gibraltar,

:55:41. > :55:47.and the defeat to Lincoln Red Imps others could have melted in the

:55:48. > :55:52.temperature, resulted in the scale of the tabloids. Brendan Rodgers was

:55:53. > :55:57.icily cool. Scott Brown is about to get his hands on the Scottish Cup

:55:58. > :56:09.again. It will be the 37th Scottish Cup

:56:10. > :56:15.victory for Celtic Football Club. The Invincibles. The treble. It is

:56:16. > :56:37.Celtic's Scottish Cup again. The seventh time than Celtic have

:56:38. > :56:45.won the Scottish Cup since the turn of the century. They have just won

:56:46. > :56:50.their 48th league title, their sixth on the bounce, they're shooting at

:56:51. > :56:59.ten in a row by 2021, then there will be a special cheer for the man

:57:00. > :57:09.who delivered the treble. They beat their own previous record of 32

:57:10. > :57:13.league game unbeaten, having gone through the entire season without

:57:14. > :57:17.loss, scored 106 goal, that beat their old record. The best points

:57:18. > :57:21.return of 106 and the biggest points margin at the top of the

:57:22. > :57:26.Premiership. I think everyone has to take their

:57:27. > :57:29.hat off to what Celtic have achieved under Brendan Rodgers, let's hear

:57:30. > :57:34.from Patrick Roberts, who is with Chris. It is the final piece of the

:57:35. > :57:39.jigsaw, one of your team-mates say it is relief, does it feel that way.

:57:40. > :57:52.It been a long old season and we had objectives and today we can say we

:57:53. > :57:58.completed them all. So... Kfrgets It is good to see Kieran Tierney back.

:57:59. > :58:04.Talk me through how close you have become? He is a good mate. No matter

:58:05. > :58:08.where I am. Kieran is a great lad and great player. An incredible way

:58:09. > :58:18.for you to say your goodbyes. I mean, to win the treble, it was an

:58:19. > :58:26.amazing occasion and I am happy. Go and see your friends. Great to see

:58:27. > :58:30.Kieran Tierney made it back from hospital to get his hands on the

:58:31. > :58:33.trophy. He looks rather dazed after that altercation with Jayden

:58:34. > :58:38.Stockley's elbow in the first half, but he is back to be part of the

:58:39. > :58:46.party. And what party it is going to be. What a transformation in the

:58:47. > :58:52.team. Celtic were champions last season, but the team has been

:58:53. > :58:56.reinvigorated, revitalised, reassembled by Brendan Rodgers and

:58:57. > :59:00.his team have done this treble in style. It is a special moment, you

:59:01. > :59:06.know, you only have to look at hour many teams have done it, to tell you

:59:07. > :59:11.how difficult it is. No matter who, what people say, it is an incredible

:59:12. > :59:16.feat they have done, and he has had a remarkable effect, not just on the

:59:17. > :59:20.pitch but off it as well. You know, he has really took club in a

:59:21. > :59:26.completely different direction and his main aim now he has done this,

:59:27. > :59:31.Italy be Europe necks season and to try and establish Celtic, among you

:59:32. > :59:34.know, some of the greats in Europe. In the real world, people have a bad

:59:35. > :59:41.day at the office, Celtic don't seem to have that. They don't. They had a

:59:42. > :59:45.good day, a good second half. Aberdeen had a very good first half.

:59:46. > :59:49.We got an excellent game of football this afternoon. Most people coming

:59:50. > :59:54.outside the Aberdeen supporters thought it would be one way traffic

:59:55. > :59:58.and it would be easy for Celtic. They are a magnificent team, Brendan

:59:59. > :00:03.Rodgers has made a huge difference, turned them into a team of real

:00:04. > :00:09.quality. I thought Aberdeen played their part today. They certainly

:00:10. > :00:11.turned up. They had a magnificent occasion but Celtic worthy winners

:00:12. > :00:18.this afternoon. The greatest condiment you can pay

:00:19. > :00:24.to Aberdeen is that they pushed Celtic to the brink. Definitely.

:00:25. > :00:28.Talking about moving forward next season and relation to that,

:00:29. > :00:33.Aberdeen have shown, for me, the way you've got to play against this

:00:34. > :00:36.team. It's difficult, it's tough, but the only way you're going to

:00:37. > :00:41.actually get a victory or push Celtic is if you front up to them.

:00:42. > :00:47.If you sit back they will beat you down. They show that in the second

:00:48. > :00:53.half. Aberdeen, inevitably at times they got dropped further and further

:00:54. > :00:55.back, and Celtic picked them off. It is difficult to criticise Derek

:00:56. > :01:05.McInnes today but I don't understand why he picked Jayden Stockley. He

:01:06. > :01:08.wasn't central to that tactic. He could have been the guide to fire

:01:09. > :01:14.the ball further up the Park and allow them to get out. Adam Rooney

:01:15. > :01:16.isn't that type of player as it happened and Aberdeen were

:01:17. > :01:21.entrenched at the back and they couldn't get out. I don't know why

:01:22. > :01:29.he picked Jayden Stockley when he could have potentially brought him

:01:30. > :01:37.on. It is a fantastic achievement. It is an example of how you should

:01:38. > :01:41.try to tackle Celtic. Maybe they should try and take that on board

:01:42. > :01:54.for next season. The problem is, Celtic will go up to another level.

:01:55. > :02:00.That's the problem, the other teams can't catch that up as quick. With

:02:01. > :02:04.Celtic, you look to press and the better teams will be able to do it

:02:05. > :02:11.to a certain extent. The ones who aren't as good will get cut open.

:02:12. > :02:20.Lets sample the atmosphere as the Celtic fans celebrate the treble.

:02:21. > :03:02.# With hope in your heart # And you'll never walk alone

:03:03. > :03:17.# You'll never walk alone # CHEERING

:03:18. > :03:21.APPLAUSE We mentioned it more than once in

:03:22. > :03:26.the course of the programme, Celtic have done this with impeccable

:03:27. > :03:30.timing. The 50th anniversary, 50 years and a couple of days since the

:03:31. > :03:36.Lisbon Lions pulled off that football fairy tale in the Europe

:03:37. > :03:44.cup final against Inter Milan. What a fitting tribute this achievement

:03:45. > :03:53.of Celtic this season is and what they did all those decades ago. It's

:03:54. > :03:59.a fabulous occasion... We are going to hear from Brendan Rodgers now.

:04:00. > :04:06.Very well done and a huge congratulations. Can you sum up your

:04:07. > :04:10.emotions? There are so many emotions going through my mind. But I thought

:04:11. > :04:16.we deserved it in the end, it was a very tough game as you would expect.

:04:17. > :04:24.The first half was a bit nervy. We'll give credit to Aberdeen. I

:04:25. > :04:28.said at half-time to stay calm. Eventually, the space opened up. We

:04:29. > :04:34.kept moving the ball and moving quickly. Players can start to Tyre

:04:35. > :04:37.and I think that's what happened as the second half wore on. I'm

:04:38. > :04:45.disappointed we didn't score more goals. An incredible way to win a

:04:46. > :04:54.cup final, right at the end. I'm really happy for the players and

:04:55. > :05:02.supporters. All sorts of records broken today. You said you had

:05:03. > :05:11.targets, how many did you take off? We ticked off six of those. We

:05:12. > :05:17.wanted to ensure the impetus with the players continued. Listen, it's

:05:18. > :05:20.been a dream. For any manager, coming in at the beginning of the

:05:21. > :05:25.season, you couldn't write down what we've done. I said to the players,

:05:26. > :05:30.before they went out, this is a game where you want them to write about

:05:31. > :05:34.it afterwards but you have to make history, it doesn't just happen. The

:05:35. > :05:39.players went out and did that and I thought in the second half in

:05:40. > :05:42.particular they were brilliant. The club has fallen in love with you and

:05:43. > :05:49.I get the feeling you've fallen in love with the club. No, I was born

:05:50. > :05:53.into Celtic. There's been no grown, there is only pride for me. It's a

:05:54. > :05:59.huge privilege to manage Celtic. I was born into Celtic, into a Celtic

:06:00. > :06:04.family, I always wanted to manage Celtic. To come here now was the

:06:05. > :06:08.right time for everyone, myself, the club. We've created an identity that

:06:09. > :06:12.hopefully allows us to build on this and improve over the coming years.

:06:13. > :06:18.To achieve what we did this year, it a spectacular achievement. It's

:06:19. > :06:23.surreal, really. You've been so focused for so long. Will you allow

:06:24. > :06:33.yourself to wind down and relax? I need a rest. It's been so intense

:06:34. > :06:39.since the middle of June. We've all put in. Now we need to get away and

:06:40. > :06:42.have a breather. Six weeks' time as the Champions League qualifier so

:06:43. > :06:50.we'll look forward to that. Congratulations again. It's been the

:06:51. > :06:56.dream season for Scott Brown, Brendan Rodgers, all the Celtic

:06:57. > :07:03.players, management, supporters. It couldn't have gone better for them

:07:04. > :07:06.and may you're feeling a bit of exhaustion there about Brendan

:07:07. > :07:12.Rodgers, and all he's poured into the campaign. And only realises he

:07:13. > :07:17.will continue to pour in next season. He'll have do. This is a

:07:18. > :07:21.fabulous day for him, the club and the players. They know that the

:07:22. > :07:25.demands will be back on them to do it again next season, and everyone

:07:26. > :07:34.will be expecting them to do it next season. He's set the bar so high.

:07:35. > :07:37.Absolutely, he'll need that rest. He won't get too long before it's June

:07:38. > :07:44.again and then he'll start thinking about next season and the challenge

:07:45. > :07:51.that lays ahead. Let's hear from Leigh Griffiths. This is the stuff

:07:52. > :08:00.that dreams are made of, isn't it? Yes, of course. I've been dreaming

:08:01. > :08:04.of this all season. It's a fitting tribute to the way we've played all

:08:05. > :08:09.season. The pressure has been immense knee for so long, is there a

:08:10. > :08:12.sense of relief now? We can handle pressure. If you can't handle

:08:13. > :08:19.pressure there is no point being hair. We've proved today how well we

:08:20. > :08:27.can cope with that. I imagine there will be a big party now. Yes. I can

:08:28. > :08:32.imagine a few boys will be up for days. I'm one of them! We do it for

:08:33. > :08:41.the fans. They come in their numbers every single week. They don't stop

:08:42. > :08:45.backing us. Enjoy your celebrations. If there's a big party going on you

:08:46. > :08:52.can count on Leigh Griffiths being a big part that. The summer is going

:08:53. > :08:56.to be interesting, in terms of what Celtic do next, who they might lose

:08:57. > :08:59.and who they might bring in. There will be a lot of interested clubs

:09:00. > :09:05.looking at players like Kieran Tierney. Yes, whenever you're

:09:06. > :09:09.successful, there's always prying eyes. Especially, you look at the

:09:10. > :09:14.quality that Celtic have got in the team now. There will be clubs in

:09:15. > :09:19.England looking at getting him. When you are winning things it is easier

:09:20. > :09:22.to keep those players. Brendan is talking about having a rest but the

:09:23. > :09:26.plans he's already put in place for next season will be going on in the

:09:27. > :09:29.background. He'll have the recruitment people, they will

:09:30. > :09:34.already be working hard. This is their time of the year to produce.

:09:35. > :09:39.Brendan would have identified who he wants, and that will take care of

:09:40. > :09:43.itself. He'll have a couple of weeks and then it's back again. Managers

:09:44. > :09:49.don't give themselves much time, maybe a couple of days knowing him.

:09:50. > :09:53.These plans, as Alan says, they don't kick off now, they've been in

:09:54. > :09:58.place for months about what Celtic do next. Absolutely. You don't

:09:59. > :10:03.really get a break if you are a manager in football. Maybe a couple

:10:04. > :10:10.of weeks of to think about things other than football. Even then, it

:10:11. > :10:13.creeps back in. Brendan Rodgers isn't any different. The good thing

:10:14. > :10:21.from a Celtic point of view is the players respect the manager. It will

:10:22. > :10:25.be up to Celtic whether they want to release these players are not. I

:10:26. > :10:32.think he's got the trust of all the players. They talk so highly about

:10:33. > :10:37.him. They might get offers they can't refuse. Not only that. If you

:10:38. > :10:41.want to keep Brendan Rodgers, you can't go down the route of selling

:10:42. > :10:45.his best players. For example Kieran Tierney, big club down Saab are

:10:46. > :10:50.looking at him. Kieran Tierney won't be in any rush to leave. He is

:10:51. > :10:57.working with a manager who is top drawer. What if they get offered ?30

:10:58. > :11:01.million? What I would say if I was Celtic, are they going to offer me

:11:02. > :11:06.30 million next year? Yes they will. Brendan Rodgers is a huge attraction

:11:07. > :11:11.for these guys to remain at Celtic. Celtic are moving forward, they are

:11:12. > :11:15.going places. You might be happy with settling in the Champions

:11:16. > :11:18.League group stages, they want to get out of it and progress. As a

:11:19. > :11:22.footballer you want to progress all the time. Working with a manager

:11:23. > :11:26.like that, that is what you are doing. Do you think Scott Sinclair

:11:27. > :11:31.regrets coming to Celtic? It's the best decision he's probably made in

:11:32. > :11:38.his career. You see the bond between the manager, coaching staff and

:11:39. > :11:42.players. I think there was a lot of suspicion about Brendan Rodgers, but

:11:43. > :11:47.when he signed a four-year contract that was a signal of intent. The

:11:48. > :11:52.biggest thing for Celtic moving forward is Brendan is calling the

:11:53. > :11:57.shots. The way he is now and how strong his position is, if he

:11:58. > :12:02.doesn't want someone to leave, it should only be on his say-so. It

:12:03. > :12:12.will be Brendan who sanctions anyone leaving. He'll only do it if he

:12:13. > :12:16.knows he's got a replacement. 100%. It is someone who they are going to

:12:17. > :12:23.try and develop again, the way they have done. They've done a fantastic

:12:24. > :12:29.job with Tierney. He will go one day, hopefully not seem. You can

:12:30. > :12:34.see, he's comfortable with everything here. He's playing great

:12:35. > :12:43.football. He's still got to learn but he's fantastic. He's still only

:12:44. > :12:47.19. Champions League is the stage on which Brendan Rodgers will look to

:12:48. > :12:52.Celtic to develop. He'll want to win everything domestically next season

:12:53. > :12:59.but Celtic will be graded and regarded further afield on what they

:13:00. > :13:04.achieve in Europe. How far you can take this club in Europe will be the

:13:05. > :13:11.big question, how far this man Brendan Rodgers can turn around the

:13:12. > :13:15.quality that he's got domestically to the higher level of the quality

:13:16. > :13:18.that is expected in Europe. That's a big question for him. It's a huge

:13:19. > :13:28.challenge and I'm sure he's relishing it. He does, 100%. He is

:13:29. > :13:33.looking at ways to unlock that Celtic team. He's doing the same at

:13:34. > :13:36.European level. The games against Man City, he went toe went toe to

:13:37. > :13:41.toe and showed a lot of English clubs had to go up and play against

:13:42. > :13:49.them. He will relish the chance to go and pit his wits against the top

:13:50. > :13:52.teams in Europe. Of course he's going to concentrate on his bread

:13:53. > :13:56.and butter in Scotland but you heard in his interview, he wants to

:13:57. > :14:00.continue to progress in the Champions League. If that means they

:14:01. > :14:07.may be don't win the treble next year, but progress further in the

:14:08. > :14:10.Champions League, he will still view that as progression. There has

:14:11. > :14:13.clearly been progression and a Brendan Rodgers but there is also

:14:14. > :14:21.clearly a part way to continue that. Brendan Rodgers and Celtic are the

:14:22. > :14:30.Invincibles. 47 domestic matches unbeaten, it's the treble for

:14:31. > :14:45.# Invincible # Invincible

:14:46. > :14:54.# COMMENTATOR: Aberdeen, what a finish by Hayes! Stuart Armstrong

:14:55. > :15:01.smashes Celtic back on track. Stockley. Griffith' ball! Scott

:15:02. > :15:19.Sinclair! He's got McLean screening for him in the middle! He's unlucky.

:15:20. > :15:35.A free header for Boyata. Celtic win the treble! More reaction to come on

:15:36. > :15:42.the Cup final, BBC radio Scotland and online.

:15:43. > :15:47.It was a fantastic watch and I'm sure even the Aberdeen fans would

:15:48. > :15:51.agree with that. Their team couldn't have done much more. Second prize

:15:52. > :15:57.for them and it's the treble for Celtic. A big family moment

:15:58. > :16:01.obviously for Brendan Rodgers as well.

:16:02. > :16:10.A big deputation of family and friends here, to join him in this

:16:11. > :16:13.massive moment for him, and it is obviously hugely emotional for him

:16:14. > :16:19.and I would imagine he is about to lie down in a crumbled heap in a

:16:20. > :16:27.darkened room to recover from the last ten or 11 months or so of

:16:28. > :16:35.effort, but those efforts have been richly rewarded here today. So we

:16:36. > :16:39.have had all the thrills and spills of the Scottish Cup Final. Careful

:16:40. > :16:47.Brendan, you don't want to pull a hamstring at this late stage of the

:16:48. > :16:53.season. But, the three fingers held aloft to signal a clean sweep of the

:16:54. > :16:59.domestic prizes in Scottish football. Just one last word for the

:17:00. > :17:03.man who had the trophy in his hands, a yearing a, Alan Stubbs. Enjoy the

:17:04. > :17:08.night, you don't know when the next one is going to be. He deserves it.

:17:09. > :17:12.I am sure there will be great celebrations today, and once again,

:17:13. > :17:15.congratulations to his staff, the players, because they have just

:17:16. > :17:21.achieved something which is really difficult to do.

:17:22. > :17:25.You know, so... Have a great night and have a good rest, because it

:17:26. > :17:29.will soon come round again. I think he and his players management team

:17:30. > :17:35.and everyone else sobered with Celtic will be having a big night

:17:36. > :17:40.tonight, to celebrate the Scottish Cup win which Jonny Hayes scored the

:17:41. > :17:45.opening goal. It was cancelled out by Stuart article strong and what a

:17:46. > :17:52.dramatic finale it was. Just when it seemed as if we were heading towards

:17:53. > :17:57.an extra half hour, Tom Rogic had other ideas. He has been a major

:17:58. > :18:02.problem for Aberdeen all season long, and he has done it again. Joe

:18:03. > :18:09.Lewis had pulled off a string of superb save, but he was beaten here

:18:10. > :18:14.in the 92nd minute by Tom Rogic, and there was no extra time, it was

:18:15. > :18:17.Celtic's Scottish Cup, the treble for them, and the ball was on the

:18:18. > :18:23.spot at Wembley and it is the English fun final. It is Arsenal

:18:24. > :18:25.against Chelsea, and we will joining the commentary team of Danny Murphy

:18:26. > :18:26.alongside
