:03:44. > :03:51.There will be a few bumps and bruises around the Super League

:03:51. > :03:54.squads tonight. Two games in four days well have taken their toll,

:03:54. > :04:00.but bank holiday put up another round of compelling matches. Giving

:04:00. > :04:06.us their views is Jamie Jones Buchanan and Robbie hunter Paul.

:04:06. > :04:13.Let's start with the top of the table clash, Huddersfield against

:04:13. > :04:16.Hull. The Super League leadership was on the line. Huddersfield

:04:16. > :04:21.remain top of the Super League after holding their nerve against

:04:21. > :04:25.high-flying Hull. The conditions ensured a low-scoring match with

:04:25. > :04:30.Danny Tickle and Danny Brough exchanging penalties in a scrappy

:04:30. > :04:36.first half as the Giants struggled to break down Hull's defiant

:04:36. > :04:42.defence. Danny Tickle edged them halfway, but that Leeds did not

:04:42. > :04:48.last long. Crabtree crashed over from close range and the Giants

:04:48. > :04:53.lead for the first time. Robinson was at it again shortly afterwards.

:04:53. > :04:59.They opened up a commanding lead with just 10 minutes remaining. The

:04:59. > :05:02.Giants finished with a flurry as Danny Brough raced clear to send

:05:03. > :05:08.Joe Wardle touching down. The black and whites will be looking for

:05:08. > :05:14.revenge on Sunday when both sides meet in the Challenge Cup. You were

:05:14. > :05:18.at the game. 62 minutes until the first try. I think the fatigue

:05:18. > :05:24.aspect came into this a little bit because the game it was quite

:05:24. > :05:31.scrappage. It was a great afternoon. The Energy added to the nerves of

:05:31. > :05:36.the afternoon. If you look across the board there were a third more

:05:36. > :05:41.errors. The first game had 150 errors and on Monday there were

:05:41. > :05:48.over 200. That goes into that argument about whether or not we

:05:48. > :05:52.should be playing two games in four days. But for Huddersfield a great

:05:52. > :05:55.win and they are beating the top teams. A lot of people were

:05:55. > :06:02.focusing on the traditional big teams and Huddersfield have been

:06:02. > :06:08.but they will be on everybody's radar right now because they are

:06:08. > :06:12.the team to beat. They are playing fantastic, productive rugby league

:06:12. > :06:18.and they are throwing the ball around. They are one of the teams

:06:18. > :06:23.to beat. They are play attractive rugby. It was tough for Hull and

:06:23. > :06:32.they went in with a lot of injured players to back-up that emotional

:06:32. > :06:37.game for them. It is a tough period, the Easter period. The lads almost

:06:37. > :06:42.sacrificed themselves over the Easter period. But the games are

:06:42. > :06:47.not going to be as good a quality, there will be more errors, and they

:06:47. > :06:51.were poor conditions as well. I think that was a great example of

:06:51. > :06:58.an uncharacteristic game. There were a lot of uncharacteristic

:06:58. > :07:03.errors. I did not know whether to laugh or cry as a Leeds supporter.

:07:03. > :07:08.The lads were putting their bodies on the line to do it and it is the

:07:08. > :07:17.same for all teams and it makes it more interesting. Briefly,

:07:17. > :07:25.everybody at Huddersfield will be pleased that Nathan Brown has had

:07:25. > :07:29.an effect. They are trying to do what they can. An Easter double for

:07:29. > :07:34.Huddersfield and we can match them when they beat Wakefield at the DW

:07:34. > :07:39.stadium. A terrific period for Wigan. They have come up with the

:07:39. > :07:43.wins they have been after and they are a tough team to beat. When they

:07:43. > :07:50.play as directly as they can, they are tough for any team to come up

:07:50. > :07:56.against and play. Especially at the DW stadium it makes it even tougher.

:07:56. > :08:02.When Wigan are on form, they look pretty impressive. They just put

:08:02. > :08:06.their skill on show. They show some real consistency and real skill.

:08:06. > :08:14.They are a really tough side and really physical. They take a lot of

:08:14. > :08:21.pride in being dominant. The finishes are outstanding. They

:08:21. > :08:27.throw some of the best players at you in Super League. There was a

:08:27. > :08:32.quality gap between the sides. There were quite a few injuries as

:08:32. > :08:37.well and it is an knock-on effect of the harsh Easter period. But

:08:37. > :08:41.also Wigan had the big squad. When they go down to the second team or

:08:41. > :08:46.even their juniors, a lot of them are of the highest quality. They

:08:46. > :08:52.have got a good development system. When they have injuries, the

:08:52. > :08:56.players come through to fill in the gaps. You are not just filling in

:08:56. > :09:00.the gaps, you are adding a different element to it. It is high

:09:00. > :09:05.quality. We have seen some miserable bank holiday weather

:09:05. > :09:09.conditions, so let's get a bit of sunshine. Warrington Wolves

:09:09. > :09:15.travelled to the south of France for their fixture against Catalan

:09:15. > :09:21.dragons. It is as it often tends to be a fabulous atmosphere inside the

:09:21. > :09:25.stadium. The warm sun is shining for two sides who have every right

:09:26. > :09:30.to believe this could be their year. Nothing settled today, but markers

:09:30. > :09:40.for the rest of the season will be laid down and real celebrations

:09:40. > :10:03.

:10:03. > :10:08.back. Looking for a bit of early capital. Warrington's defence

:10:08. > :10:18.having to work hard and slowing that rug down as well. Henderson

:10:18. > :10:27.

:10:27. > :10:37.stands and weights. It is confirmed by the referee. That went over with

:10:37. > :10:48.

:10:48. > :10:54.is a fabulous try for the Catalan dragons. The locals are loving it

:10:54. > :10:59.and well they might. They had made a point this season of playing with

:10:59. > :11:09.the rear expansive style and here it was for all to see. Darryl

:11:09. > :11:42.

:11:42. > :11:50.real sense of the line. It is a try he has scored so many times over

:11:50. > :12:00.the years. So close, out he goes and over he does. The Warrington

:12:00. > :12:12.

:12:12. > :12:22.finger pointed for Steve Menzies. He is just about the oldest swinger

:12:22. > :12:33.

:12:33. > :12:39.said play on and Riley scores. They cannot go to the video referee for

:12:39. > :12:47.the forward pass. The referee is satisfied that he got over cleanly

:12:47. > :12:57.enough. You have to ask the question was that a forward pass?

:12:57. > :13:05.It certainly looked like one. Henderson wants to get up and away

:13:05. > :13:15.again. Three defenders needed to make sure Menzies could not get the

:13:15. > :13:21.

:13:21. > :13:27.ball away. It is touch down by Louis Anderson. The former

:13:27. > :13:32.Warrington Wolves has struck. Completely missed by John Monahan.

:13:32. > :13:42.Anderson is there to complete the business. What a time to score,

:13:42. > :14:09.

:14:09. > :14:19.Fabulous work. Plenty of dash and dark, so poured out wild. --

:14:19. > :14:23.

:14:23. > :14:33.support out wide. They love their celebrations in this part of the

:14:33. > :14:50.

:14:50. > :14:55.done a terrific effort. There is double movement here. It is the

:14:55. > :15:00.question of whether he got the ball down and that suggests he has not.

:15:00. > :15:10.The video referee has made his decision. No screen in Perpignan on,

:15:10. > :15:18.

:15:18. > :15:25.break, and then the foot goes down! Absolutely breathtaking try!

:15:25. > :15:32.Wonderful stuff from the Catalan Centre! They're love every moment

:15:32. > :15:37.of this! Once he has passed him, it is time for the celebration and

:15:37. > :15:47.Darryl Millard with a score that really does put distance between

:15:47. > :16:09.

:16:09. > :16:13.they are home and dry! The champagne has been opened almost in

:16:13. > :16:23.this second half for Catalan because they are almost scoring at

:16:23. > :16:36.

:16:36. > :16:42.will. The band are here to play support, and look at this! Steve

:16:42. > :16:52.Menzies, for his second! There is simply no stopping him, he goes on

:16:52. > :16:56.

:16:56. > :17:00.and on, and so also the Catalans reason why. Steve Menzies in

:17:00. > :17:10.support and he still has the energy and the pace to go the distance. He

:17:10. > :17:11.

:17:12. > :17:21.has been a giant of a player in something of a consolation if they

:17:22. > :17:31.

:17:31. > :17:37.can, but what a day it has been for scores for the second game running!

:17:37. > :17:42.Terrific support play. Hodge them was in support and Brad Dwyer,

:17:42. > :17:52.keeping up the good work. But for all that celebration at the end, it

:17:52. > :18:00.

:18:01. > :18:05.Catalan have 100% record at home. of spades because if the sun

:18:05. > :18:09.doesn't burn you, they will be to black and blue! Look at that

:18:10. > :18:14.contrast from playing at home and playing a wave. The crowd, it is

:18:14. > :18:22.like a festival at their ground. It is brilliant and they have been a

:18:23. > :18:27.They've just got better and better and the team that keeps winning

:18:27. > :18:33.brings all the crowds in. It will be a big job for any team to come

:18:33. > :18:38.in and change that. But you would be foolish to write Warrington off.

:18:38. > :18:43.Everybody surprised at such a big score against a team like

:18:43. > :18:46.Warrington but they will bounce back soon. Robbie, you retired, but

:18:46. > :18:54.you are a whippersnapper compared to Steve Menzies, who is proving

:18:54. > :18:58.that age does not matter! What matters, what makes the

:18:58. > :19:04.longevity of Steve Menzies matter, he is that he is not just a great

:19:04. > :19:09.athlete, and he is, he has great agility and speed, but he is smart.

:19:09. > :19:15.That is a lot of things people do not take into account. It is not

:19:15. > :19:19.just Bish and bash. That is the stuff that bashes you up. He is

:19:19. > :19:23.smart. He can release the ball and he can support. He has still got

:19:23. > :19:27.the legs because he has not been doing be ugly stuff in the middle

:19:27. > :19:32.of the park. He played centre at one stage back in Australia as well

:19:32. > :19:36.as he was coming up. He has been able to stand out and understand

:19:36. > :19:45.the game innately and understand where his skills can best be used

:19:45. > :19:52.and that is why we have seen him with this Korea. Leon Pryce have

:19:52. > :19:56.settled in extremely well. -- with his career. I was looking through

:19:56. > :20:01.some old coaching manuals earlier and I saw him in his Great Britain

:20:01. > :20:06.kit and it reminds me of some of the things Leon Pryce has done. It

:20:06. > :20:15.adds a bit of experience to a very strong Catalan side. It will take a

:20:15. > :20:19.bit of time to find his feet. Warrington seemed to be coming up

:20:19. > :20:23.with a lot of errors at the moment. Tony Smith has been complaining

:20:24. > :20:28.about it. Every team has their highs and lows. They are going

:20:28. > :20:32.through one of their low points. It is too good a system that Tony

:20:32. > :20:37.Smith has for them not to have this they add some point. They will get

:20:37. > :20:42.out of this and what, they will kick on. Nothing for them to worry

:20:42. > :20:46.too much about. Richard Lewis is to stand down as the chairman of the

:20:46. > :20:51.RFL. He leads to take over as chief executive of the All England Club

:20:51. > :20:58.at Wimbledon. Maurice Watkins take over as the interim chairman.

:20:58. > :21:03.Thoughts? I think it is a loss. He has done a good job. He has been in

:21:03. > :21:08.charge for ten years. The sport has grown, especially in participation

:21:08. > :21:13.numbers. We are looking at doing different things. Some very big

:21:13. > :21:18.boots to fill. The Bradford Bulls were at Wigan on Monday, another

:21:18. > :21:27.game against the backdrop of financial uncertainty, but the

:21:28. > :21:33.Bulls have had a cracking season. Yes, when they are going through

:21:33. > :21:37.adversity, these things can bring the best out of you and the lads

:21:37. > :21:41.come together really strong. I gave an interview for a magazine a few

:21:41. > :21:44.weeks ago and they were saying they are gaining in confidence and

:21:44. > :21:47.starting to believe in themselves and some of the results we have

:21:47. > :21:53.been getting only adds to their confidence and their performance as

:21:53. > :21:59.well. It does maybe poll the team together but for Widnes, another

:21:59. > :22:07.heavy defeat to. Yes. They've got off to a cracking start against

:22:07. > :22:12.Warrington on Thursday and showed a lot of promise but their squad is

:22:12. > :22:17.not deep in quality, and these weekends, two games in four days,

:22:17. > :22:22.that will really take its toll. On the flipside, Bradford are playing

:22:22. > :22:31.under a lot of adversity. It does a great job of pulling the squad

:22:31. > :22:34.together because you feel it is No excuses for that there, he went

:22:34. > :22:38.straight through the middle of a couple of people! Some structural

:22:38. > :22:43.things that need to be looked at but they are playing against a team

:22:43. > :22:49.that is playing really well. Let's move on to the Hull KR game and

:22:49. > :22:55.Salford. It looks like it was probably half a decent game to

:22:55. > :23:05.watch. Not a massive scoreline but some very good play from both teams.

:23:05. > :23:13.

:23:13. > :23:17.Particularly Salford out on the bounce back? After the Derby?

:23:17. > :23:22.very important because it never goes well when you lose against

:23:22. > :23:28.Hull FC. It hurts the fans, it hurts themselves. Saying that,

:23:28. > :23:32.going to Salford and to come away with a win, Salford are playing

:23:32. > :23:37.really well. They played against the Giants and they are playing

:23:37. > :23:42.attractive and positive rugby league. They are taking chances and

:23:42. > :23:48.it was a tough game but the best team won on the day. Can you see

:23:48. > :23:53.are over these two breaking into the top eight? Yes. The Hull KR

:23:53. > :23:58.coach mentioned it was a massive win for them. Every two points is

:23:58. > :24:02.like gold dust. I agree with Robbie, Salford have put some good ships

:24:02. > :24:11.together. Apart from Huddersfield, I think they are one of the best

:24:11. > :24:17.If they can keep some consistency every week, I am sure they will

:24:17. > :24:24.pick up some wins. The referee was supposed to be taking charge at

:24:24. > :24:28.Salford but was handed a one-match suspension because of the game at

:24:28. > :24:34.Catalan at London. It was the second time the French official had

:24:34. > :24:39.made the same mistake. A big game at the Coliseum yesterday. St

:24:39. > :24:44.Helens were in town. Saints looking to bounce back and the Tigers were

:24:44. > :24:48.looking for a third consecutive win. St Helens bounce back from their

:24:48. > :24:58.Good Friday derby defeat Against Wigan with a hard-fought victory

:24:58. > :25:02.

:25:02. > :25:08.over Castleford. Aid Gardner the jury was short-lived, as the

:25:08. > :25:13.things hit back almost immediately through power house Sia Soliola.

:25:13. > :25:19.The Tigers then coughed up possession, allowing Michael

:25:19. > :25:23.Shenton to race clear against his former club.

:25:23. > :25:27.Things were soon in complete control after Francis Meli

:25:27. > :25:34.intercepted a pass to send the visitors on their way to their

:25:34. > :25:40.third win in four matches. Interim coaching team were clearly having a

:25:40. > :25:43.positive effect. Brett Ferres added a late

:25:44. > :25:52.consolation for the Tigers, but their two match winning run was

:25:52. > :25:56.Horrible conditions they had to play in but a really young

:25:56. > :26:01.Castleford side, a lot of the big names out for them. He will be

:26:01. > :26:06.really pleased, even though they lost. I reckon he will be. Taking

:26:06. > :26:11.into consideration what has happened for Castleford at the

:26:11. > :26:15.beginning of the season, loss after a loss after loss, to have so much

:26:15. > :26:19.of his key personnel out and still to come up with six points loss

:26:19. > :26:25.against St Helens, that has had a revival, I think it is showing a

:26:25. > :26:30.lot of the things he has put in place. He puts in place a structure

:26:30. > :26:34.of the ring for the whole of the club, not just the first team. -- a

:26:34. > :26:39.structure will fame. The fact that the juniors can do a good job and

:26:39. > :26:45.not take too much away shows the quality of the coach. A big deal to

:26:45. > :26:51.bounce back and get a win, for Saints. Yes. The coach has put the

:26:51. > :26:55.system together. A young lad, during the Easter period, they

:26:55. > :27:00.started to use the full squad. As a young lad you come in with some

:27:00. > :27:04.real enthusiasm and we have a coach that rewards that sort of thing. It

:27:04. > :27:11.is a real opportunity for the young ones to come through and shine and

:27:11. > :27:18.that is the case there. Leeds were beaten by Bradford on Friday, the

:27:18. > :27:28.third consecutive defeat for the Rhinos. It has been a tough period

:27:28. > :27:30.

:27:30. > :27:34.but the lads wanted to go out and earlier in the game. You can't take

:27:34. > :27:39.anything away from their defensive effort. They've really worked hard

:27:39. > :27:49.for what they got and there were some good skill in the end. Some

:27:49. > :27:53.

:27:53. > :27:57.makes perfect with this sort of thing. Any young kids watching, all

:27:57. > :28:01.of the skill that they see in some of these build up tries, it is just

:28:02. > :28:07.three practising hard. And how key to have Rob Burrow back? That is

:28:07. > :28:13.massive. When you have got key players like that to us so

:28:13. > :28:17.dangerous, it can take its toll and having Rob Burrow coming back and

:28:17. > :28:23.getting the line on, it makes a huge difference. It is not always

:28:23. > :28:29.him that goes through. And this one goes down, this is not a replay!

:28:29. > :28:35.This is one you must practise. Again and again and again. Ryan

:28:35. > :28:39.Hall, timing, and to catch it off your chest is unbelievable. This

:28:39. > :28:44.just builds confidence and that snowballs. How disappointed are you

:28:44. > :28:48.in London? They had been on the back of a couple of absolute

:28:48. > :28:52.hidings. The only thing I can say that is positive for them at this

:28:52. > :28:55.time is the fact that the majority of the tries have been scored on

:28:55. > :29:01.the edge of the field, so that means that the middle defence has

:29:01. > :29:06.been quite strong. Leeds move the ball quite a lot in this game.

:29:06. > :29:12.classic try shows of their defending, from Zak Hardaker.

:29:12. > :29:17.is not a great example of Defence to be honest! They say, it is not

:29:17. > :29:21.actually doing the job you want it to do, but Leeds are having to move

:29:21. > :29:26.the ball or kick the ball so the only positive is that no one is

:29:26. > :29:34.going straight through the middle of their pack. The defence needs to

:29:34. > :29:40.be improved. Jamie, when will you As soon as possible, I will see the

:29:40. > :29:44.surgeon next week and once he gives me the all clear, I will go in. My

:29:44. > :29:48.knees feel great. I am getting back running, doing cycling and trying
