:01:20. > :01:23.Hello. It was one of those weeks where just about every match in
:01:23. > :01:28.Round 5 had an incredible story attached to it. Rugby League
:01:28. > :01:32.proving itself to be unpredictable. Iestyn Harris and Robbie Hunter-
:01:32. > :01:42.Paul are here to make sense of the week's events. Here's what's coming
:01:42. > :01:43.
:01:43. > :01:50.It's a battle in black and white as Hull FC travel to Widnes Vikings.
:01:50. > :01:54.There's a clash of the Super League titans as St Helens host Leeds. And
:01:54. > :02:03.going back to the beginning. Wigan's Sean O'Loughlin finds his
:02:03. > :02:08.We start with the developments at Salford, whose coach Phil Veivers
:02:08. > :02:11.was relieved of his duties on Sunday. The City Reds have lost
:02:11. > :02:14.four of their opening five games, and have won just once since the
:02:14. > :02:22.end of July. Robbie, you're a former Salford player. They have a
:02:22. > :02:26.new ambitious owner. This is not surprising. To be honest, you would
:02:26. > :02:29.expect something like this to be on the cards. At this time of the
:02:29. > :02:32.season, you always tend to see something is going to happen. Maybe
:02:32. > :02:37.the supporters are calling for it, maybe they have some body lined up.
:02:37. > :02:40.That's the big question. I am a little bit surprised. You have to
:02:40. > :02:47.have a huge sympathy for Phil Veivers. He had no squad and could
:02:47. > :02:50.not recruit anybody. It's very, very harsh in my opinion. He had a
:02:50. > :02:55.lot to deal with it. The club were in administration for months and
:02:55. > :03:00.months. No recruitment. It's very difficult, there's a lot of doubt
:03:00. > :03:04.between the players. A lot of his time would been spent giving them
:03:04. > :03:08.confidence to keep working because the season was coming around. Five
:03:08. > :03:18.games in and he lost his job. I think it's very hard. I feel for
:03:18. > :03:23.
:03:23. > :03:30.Salford did not look great, did they? No, they didn't. There wasn't
:03:30. > :03:40.a lot in the game between the two sides. We played London last week.
:03:40. > :03:41.
:03:41. > :03:44.They played extremely well in that game and started to find some form.
:03:44. > :03:50.They are going to score plenty of points. Phil did not deserve to
:03:50. > :03:54.lose his job after this. They won last week and should have had more
:03:54. > :03:58.confidence going into this. Going into this one, I think they had a
:03:58. > :04:03.bit of disruption. Jodi was stuck in traffic. They had to make some
:04:03. > :04:08.last minute changes. That type of thing never helps the team in their
:04:08. > :04:12.preparations going into a match. Jodi was the player of the season
:04:12. > :04:16.last year and does a lot of work coming in off the edge. A great
:04:16. > :04:19.player. Yes, you can expect them to grow a bit. Maybe there was some
:04:19. > :04:28.uncertainty hanging over the club which rubbed off on the players
:04:28. > :04:31.themselves. Maybe this is not as big a shock as we think. Maybe
:04:31. > :04:40.these things have been going on in the system and at the start of the
:04:40. > :04:48.Who next? That's a very difficult question. The usual suspects. It's
:04:48. > :04:52.a good job to get. You would expect a big name? A big name? There's
:04:52. > :04:56.plenty of big-name players being bandied around. You would expect a
:04:56. > :05:00.big-name coach to come in. It's going to be a difficult job because
:05:00. > :05:08.they are a club who want instant success. To get instant success,
:05:08. > :05:13.you have got to work at it. Machin will want to do the World
:05:13. > :05:23.Cup Down Under. Yes, he wants to do the world Cup and then Super League
:05:23. > :05:24.
:05:24. > :05:27.is an option for him. There is a lot of work to do. They want some
:05:27. > :05:32.stability there and to get some performances in the next few weeks
:05:32. > :05:36.before they think about the long- term future. I bet his CV is going
:05:36. > :05:38.to Salford. Widnes fans have finally had the chance to see Kevin
:05:39. > :05:41.Brown in their famous black and white colours. The former
:05:41. > :05:44.Huddersfield half back made his injury-delayed debut for the
:05:44. > :05:47.Vikings on Saturday night, when Hull were the visitors to the
:05:47. > :05:52.Stobart Stadium. Widnes coach Denis Betts was delighted to have Brown
:05:52. > :05:57.available, but remained a little cautious. The boost of Kevin Brown
:05:57. > :06:01.coming into the side is going to be huge. You have got to be careful
:06:01. > :06:06.about what impact he is going to have. He will have impact on the
:06:07. > :06:09.side. He has not played for a long time. He has been out of the
:06:09. > :06:15.training environment for a couple of months because of his ankle
:06:15. > :06:25.injury. It's going to take time for him to bed in. He will be a big
:06:25. > :06:28.
:06:28. > :06:30.their first home win of this new season. It is a Hull side looking
:06:30. > :06:36.to recover from the second half capitulation against Warrington
:06:37. > :06:46.last week. Kevin Brown makes his long awaited debut for Widnes
:06:47. > :07:01.
:07:01. > :07:06.on the ball in these early stages so a big test for them. Here is
:07:07. > :07:15.Danny Hutton from dummy half. He has kept it alive. They are
:07:15. > :07:24.queueing up. It's a question of who. He gets the night's first try. It
:07:24. > :07:33.was all too easy here for Hull. Warner does well to get in the way.
:07:33. > :07:37.Westerner takes his chance. Here is Clarke. It has been lively stuff so
:07:37. > :07:44.far, hasn't it? Magner looking wider still. Into the hands of
:07:44. > :07:52.Paddy Flynn, who is over. Crashing in, Paddy Flynn. Try confirmed.
:07:53. > :08:02.Widnes had their response. Flynn with a very good finish given the
:08:03. > :08:09.
:08:09. > :08:17.number of defenders there trying to Danny Hutton. Squeezing into the
:08:17. > :08:23.left-hand side. Second try for Hull. Looks like they are meaning
:08:23. > :08:33.business here tonight. They have silenced this home crowd. One of
:08:33. > :08:35.
:08:35. > :08:42.their close season signings with of this defence. It is intercepted
:08:42. > :08:48.here by Paddy Flynn. Not so much as intercepted as thrown to him. The
:08:48. > :08:55.chase is on. Flynn moves away and scores a length of the field to try
:08:55. > :09:01.to send the home crowd into raptures. Apart from a 90 minutes
:09:01. > :09:09.or so he had to run, this was a gift. Just thrown into his hands by
:09:09. > :09:14.Seymour. Paddy Flynn had to put his foot down and finish. A really good
:09:14. > :09:24.chase. He came a long way but could not quite get there. Flynn, with
:09:24. > :09:45.
:09:45. > :09:54.Hull. You can see that two of them standing shoulder to shoulder. You
:09:54. > :10:04.can't do that. He gets a penalty. Gareth Hock. Terrific. Phelps with
:10:04. > :10:08.the corner. Has he got there? We remember last season. The corner
:10:08. > :10:12.flag was not in play but look at the end. But here Gareth Hock gets
:10:12. > :10:22.the opening in the first place. Was this a good enough finish? The feet
:10:22. > :10:31.
:10:31. > :10:40.again. Where is it coming down? Into the hands of Chris Dean. Kevin
:10:40. > :10:50.Brown's kick. Dean with the catch. Flat footed. There were plenty in
:10:50. > :10:54.
:10:54. > :11:04.white but what a determination from side. Kevin Brown has gone down and
:11:04. > :11:06.
:11:06. > :11:09.he looks to be in a bad way. Have a look at this. Johnson's swinging
:11:09. > :11:13.leg accidentally caught Kevin Brown and it looks like he might have
:11:13. > :11:23.played his last here. That is worrying for Denis Betts that his
:11:23. > :11:25.
:11:25. > :11:35.big signing is being helped off. Clarke. It is another chance. It is
:11:35. > :11:36.
:11:36. > :11:39.another try for Phelps. Second of the night for him. Three tries
:11:39. > :11:49.unanswered in the second half for Widnes. They are moving closer and
:11:49. > :12:00.
:12:00. > :12:09.closer to the promised land of pace. And a good finish, too. They
:12:09. > :12:15.are having a look again here. Obstruction. Was the defender
:12:15. > :12:24.jumping into the attacker there? Horne appeared around the back of
:12:24. > :12:31.it. Phil Bentham. They are going to roll this on to the ground. The
:12:31. > :12:39.referee looks like he's happy with the obstruction. This should be a
:12:39. > :12:46.Hull try. It is, and they are back in the game again. Here is Clarke.
:12:46. > :12:56.Cross standing to his right. He wants that ball. He pushes a couple
:12:56. > :12:57.
:12:57. > :13:07.away. He is over! Again, there is a question to be posed about the
:13:07. > :13:10.
:13:10. > :13:20.grounding this time. That looks OK. And the try is confirmed. It was
:13:20. > :13:38.
:13:38. > :13:44.less than OK here. It was Hull's a go from dummy half. Hull hanging
:13:44. > :13:49.on, just about keeping him at bay. Gareth Hock looks like he might
:13:49. > :13:54.have got the ball over. The referee is not sure. Have a look at the
:13:54. > :13:57.ground, he says. Double movement is a possibility. Gareth Hock again, a
:13:57. > :14:02.bundle of energy as he reaches for the line. Desperately trying to
:14:02. > :14:05.keep him away. Was that a double moment? The referee says no. Gareth
:14:05. > :14:15.Hock has his try and confirmation that witness will have their first
:14:15. > :14:16.
:14:16. > :14:26.A cracking win, Iestyn. A very good win, they finished bottom of the
:14:26. > :14:26.
:14:26. > :14:30.pile last year, two wins this time, moving forward. They look as though
:14:30. > :14:39.they have improved from the season before. It is looking positive for
:14:39. > :14:42.them. First game back, a nasty ankle injury. Very tough for Widnes,
:14:42. > :14:49.especially Kevin, looking at the social media, a lot of the players
:14:49. > :14:57.were wishing him the best of luck. An operation during the off-season,
:14:57. > :15:00.first game back. A marquee player, like they mention. Obviously going
:15:00. > :15:04.into the game, he was unlucky, the next one around, it's the ankle,
:15:04. > :15:12.really bad, and I think it is the same one he had the operation on in
:15:12. > :15:20.the first place, so I am disappointed for him. Iestyn, we
:15:20. > :15:24.saw the good and not so good side of Gareth Hock. A mercurial player.
:15:24. > :15:32.On his day, he is very good, look at the float, that is him at his
:15:32. > :15:39.best. We know he can do that. He does have a tendency to give away
:15:39. > :15:48.silly penalties, but it is a very good signing for the club. He is
:15:48. > :15:51.one of the players who can score Peter Gentle was extremely damning
:15:51. > :15:58.of his players afterwards, some familiar faces making the same
:15:58. > :16:03.mistakes, time to bring in players who will get the message. Tough
:16:03. > :16:08.words. He is setting out his stable, saying, guys, you have got to step
:16:08. > :16:11.up. Missing two marquee players, he has got it tough, Gareth Ellis back
:16:11. > :16:21.from Down Under, injured in the opening game, during the warm-up,
:16:21. > :16:26.and that is a big hole in their side. But he expects more from the
:16:26. > :16:30.players he has got at the moment. If you look at the statistics, they
:16:30. > :16:36.got out to a great start, they let the game slip from them, and that
:16:36. > :16:38.is really disappointing. Seymour was involved in a car crash at the
:16:38. > :16:42.weekend, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, but
:16:42. > :16:45.we wish him a speedy recovery. Hull KR were hoping for an improvement
:16:45. > :16:55.on the early form, one win from four, Warrington travelled east,
:16:55. > :16:58.and it was the result of the They have been under pressure, Hull
:16:58. > :17:04.KR, they have been feeling it internally, so this is a great win
:17:04. > :17:07.for them. Warrington hit back, licking their wounds a little bit,
:17:07. > :17:17.a few players out, but they have still got some great players,
:17:17. > :17:18.
:17:18. > :17:27.They had enough players to win the game, so they will be disappointed,
:17:27. > :17:33.Warrington did take the lead, but Hull KR just took over, didn't
:17:33. > :17:36.they? What a difference a week makes, off the back of last weekend,
:17:36. > :17:44.there were calls for the manager to go, but he has been able to turn
:17:44. > :17:47.them around. Hull KR, traditionally over the last few years, they have
:17:47. > :17:57.been unpredictable at the beginning of the season, then they come
:17:57. > :18:09.
:18:09. > :18:19.They defended really strongly. defended really well, to get to the
:18:19. > :18:44.
:18:44. > :18:54.top eight, you have to have He is very calm, a very experienced
:18:54. > :18:57.
:18:57. > :19:07.A mixed weekend for the whole clubs, we are three games into our review.
:19:07. > :19:28.
:19:28. > :19:38.Huddersfield Giants enjoyed four from four to get their weekend off
:19:38. > :19:40.
:19:40. > :19:50.to a flying start, but it did not Bradford got off to a dream start
:19:50. > :20:02.
:20:02. > :20:12.at the John Smith Stadium against half minutes gone at the John Smith
:20:12. > :20:25.
:20:25. > :20:34.Stadium, and the Bradford Bulls their first points of the afternoon.
:20:34. > :20:44.It looks like Joe Wardle has scored thanks to this close finish, but
:20:44. > :21:02.
:21:02. > :21:12.what a try for the Bradford Bulls, over, it looks like he has just
:21:12. > :21:13.
:21:13. > :21:15.Carney sold the dummy and went over. The try has been given! Bradford's
:21:15. > :21:25.momentum continued into the second half, the Giants' backline easily
:21:25. > :21:39.
:21:39. > :21:43.area, and the Giants look like they have put this one down, and they
:21:43. > :21:53.have, try given. Is the comeback on? Any hopes of a late surge was
:21:53. > :21:58.
:21:58. > :22:08.with a hat-trick. A great win for the Bradford Bulls, and an end to
:22:08. > :22:10.
:22:10. > :22:13.A great win that was being described for Bradford. A great win,
:22:13. > :22:18.not to put it into context, Bradford turned up on the day and
:22:18. > :22:21.were really hungry. I think he must have had a word about their
:22:21. > :22:25.performance the week before against Saint Helens, they were a different
:22:25. > :22:28.team today, so respectful of the ball. Huddersfield did not, they
:22:28. > :22:34.made a lot of knock-ons, but Bradford held the ball, and when
:22:34. > :22:39.opportunities came, they pounced upon them. They were really
:22:39. > :22:46.aggressive and took the game to the Giants, and that surprised them.
:22:46. > :22:50.Jarrod Sammut was fantastic, not just his three tries. He was all
:22:50. > :22:52.over the place, he is very unpredictable. We talked about
:22:52. > :22:56.Gareth Hock being unpredictable, but he is unpredictable in a
:22:56. > :23:00.different sense, he kicks, he chips, he is the first person to the
:23:00. > :23:07.breakdown, trying things all the time. He's the one player who
:23:07. > :23:12.played outside the system on the weekend. Jarrod Sammut's play comes
:23:12. > :23:16.off, he looks great. All credit to Bradford, they really came out with
:23:16. > :23:19.a great game plan, they took it to the Giants and got their reward in
:23:19. > :23:24.the end. Paul Anderson has not been pulling his punches, he saw this
:23:24. > :23:27.one coming with their performances. The Giants started their season on
:23:27. > :23:32.top form, came away from Saint Helens with a great win, but then
:23:32. > :23:35.they have been trailing off. Great defensive display against Wigan,
:23:35. > :23:42.but a tough game against Wakefield last week, he said that the better
:23:42. > :23:49.team lost. This week, just to reinforce that, they need to get
:23:49. > :23:53.back into that up cycle. It is going to be a very big week for the
:23:53. > :23:55.Giants, because they have got the champions at Headingley. Wigan had
:23:55. > :24:01.a tough trip on Saturday, Castleford was their destination,
:24:01. > :24:06.and it was just as tough as you thought it was going to be. It was,
:24:06. > :24:09.there have been a couple of scalps already. Leeds have been to
:24:09. > :24:17.Castleford and lost, Catalans came away with a draw, so we knew it was
:24:17. > :24:22.going to be tough. We scored some nice tries, and by half-time we
:24:22. > :24:25.were into a reasonably comfortable lead. We came out in the second
:24:25. > :24:35.half a little bit down on energy, some of the plays in the second
:24:35. > :24:37.
:24:37. > :24:43.half, a try from Chris Tuson, they I thought Carney was excellent for
:24:43. > :24:49.Castleford on the day. This brought them back into it at half-time, but
:24:49. > :24:59.we felt as if we were in full control. Jake Webster on the other
:24:59. > :25:02.
:25:02. > :25:12.side, they have made some good Some very good signings, with the
:25:12. > :25:14.
:25:14. > :25:20.When you have got that type of experience, you come up with what
:25:20. > :25:26.Webster has just done. They were very difficult to stop when they
:25:26. > :25:30.got on the front foot. Very impressed by Justin Carney, I have
:25:30. > :25:36.not seen him live before. When he got this ball and brushed two
:25:36. > :25:39.defenders off, he did that several times in the afternoon. We were
:25:39. > :25:42.talking about him this morning, saying how physical he was. He
:25:43. > :25:46.should not have been able to score that, he twists and turns and gets
:25:46. > :25:50.himself over. We are very lucky here, a little bit of fortune when
:25:50. > :26:00.it hits the post, but this is what Wigan has been about, finding a way
:26:00. > :26:06.
:26:06. > :26:13.A great match-winning try for us. You have got a few players out
:26:13. > :26:16.injured, how do you feel it is going? It is going really well.
:26:16. > :26:21.Smith is doing exceptionally well, finding the system, maturing into
:26:22. > :26:27.the system. We are using a lot of youngsters, which is great for us
:26:27. > :26:31.long-term. We are all about trying to get to the finals, and to be
:26:31. > :26:36.able to do that you have to have a squad and a group of players that
:26:36. > :26:43.you can trust. The only way you can get that is by allowing youngsters
:26:43. > :26:48.to play. We are coming up with results which are really important
:26:48. > :26:55.for us. There are few things that fans like to see more than a
:26:55. > :26:58.homegrown hero leading their team to glory. A vast number of
:26:58. > :27:08.graduates, past and present from the Saint Patrick's amateur club,
:27:08. > :27:15.and he has risen to the very top of I have always wanted to play for
:27:15. > :27:19.Wigan. It is great that I have had the opportunity to play with them.
:27:19. > :27:29.The production line at Saint Patrick's is a source of great
:27:29. > :27:29.
:27:29. > :28:48.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 79 seconds
:28:48. > :28:58.All the kids look up to him. It doesn't just stop with the players.
:28:58. > :29:02.
:29:02. > :29:07.So many great players. You should have seen him boxing! I have a lot
:29:07. > :29:16.of memories from my time here. At Big Bang cue to the club and,
:29:16. > :29:25.really. He passed his 300 game marked guiding his new-look team to
:29:25. > :29:29.an impressive start. We lost a lot of good players this year. There is
:29:29. > :29:39.probably at timing all clubs when you start to lose those players,
:29:39. > :29:51.
:29:51. > :29:55.then it is up to the young lads to I think he's doing a great job at
:29:55. > :30:05.the moment. He's always doing well in training on the physical side of
:30:05. > :30:08.
:30:08. > :30:12.things. He has been put in a really good position. We don't feel like
:30:12. > :30:17.we're anywhere near at our best this season. We've had a few wins
:30:17. > :30:22.and a draw against Warrington. Rather disappointing to come from
:30:22. > :30:26.behind. Both teams could probably go on to win the game but we are
:30:26. > :30:33.picking up wins and if we can keep doing that, I think it will be a
:30:33. > :30:39.good shout. They're doing fantastic work particularly cross the North
:30:39. > :30:44.of England but Sean O'Loughlin is not one of the big characters.
:30:44. > :30:47.an unsung hero for you guys? Yes, everyone talks about experience
:30:48. > :30:56.being so important. You need to play to have experience at Bath on
:30:56. > :31:00.the physical capabilities. He is at the peak of his career and playing
:31:00. > :31:04.exceptionally good form for us this year. He is the main leader who
:31:04. > :31:07.leads from the front. Sensational yesterday and he has come right the
:31:07. > :31:13.way through the system and that's what Wigan has been, as a club for
:31:13. > :31:20.a long period of time. Allowing players to mature at the right age,
:31:20. > :31:23.give them time to become the top league players that they are.
:31:23. > :31:26.was Wakefield's turn to head to the South of France and a Saturday
:31:26. > :31:36.night date with Catalan Dragons. This one could have gone either way,
:31:36. > :31:39.
:31:39. > :31:46.game. Wakefield went in with a lot of confidence. The game itself was
:31:46. > :31:52.even toned. Giving away to Catalan is never easy. Every player will
:31:52. > :31:55.always say how to put it. In the middle of winter here, it's quite
:31:55. > :32:03.warm over there, and the fact of that makes the situation a bit
:32:03. > :32:07.different. It becomes a tough place to play. The environment you're
:32:07. > :32:13.playing in is quite volatile, as well. The French fans really get
:32:13. > :32:20.behind the team and the atmosphere is very different from Britain.
:32:20. > :32:23.0, and then Catalan came back at them. I think so. They went into
:32:23. > :32:31.the game with a lot of conference coming of that loss against
:32:31. > :32:33.Huddersfield last week. Maybe Catalan took their foot off the
:32:33. > :32:36.pedal. But obviously, they are classy. International French
:32:36. > :32:45.players as well as a host of good, experienced players from Super
:32:45. > :32:50.League and down under. Leon Pryce had a marvellous game as well. They
:32:50. > :32:58.will be game out of the bag. Looking at a lot of the games this
:32:58. > :33:01.weekend, a lot of teams had to come from behind. He has been a great
:33:01. > :33:04.player from them down the years. He's definitely one of the go to
:33:04. > :33:10.men and one of those players they have who has matured over the Super
:33:10. > :33:17.League years. Everything is created around him and he has the X Factor
:33:17. > :33:22.as well. He can go to the line and make the right pass. Scott is back
:33:22. > :33:27.with them training. Brilliant news but I hope he's not there this week
:33:27. > :33:33.though, because we are playing them. For Wakefield, they played all
:33:33. > :33:36.right, didn't they? Yes, they did. They haven't got points from the
:33:36. > :33:41.two games because they have performed very well so I think they
:33:42. > :33:45.will take that and create momentum going forward. Friday saw St Helens
:33:45. > :33:48.take on Leeds in what is always one of the marquee fixtures on the
:33:48. > :33:54.Super League calendar. The Rhinos have beaten Saints in four of the
:33:54. > :33:58.last six Grand Finals. But their last visit to Langtree Park left
:33:58. > :34:08.them with red faces to go with their red hair, after a real horror
:34:08. > :34:11.
:34:11. > :34:19.show. I can guarantee we won't try expect on a night like this?
:34:19. > :34:29.Gardner! An absolutely prodigious win. John Lomax! Are they are
:34:29. > :34:35.
:34:35. > :34:45.celebrating now. This is a tough night for Leeds. St Helens looking
:34:45. > :34:55.
:34:55. > :35:01.to shift again. Everybody is on tackles in the bag here, Leeds, so
:35:01. > :35:09.it's safe to have a position to be in there. Jones runs it forward and
:35:09. > :35:14.St Helens are caught offside. Here is the man who did not go back far
:35:14. > :35:19.enough and Kevin Sinfield is selecting to kick for goal here.
:35:19. > :35:28.They are going to take the two. Not getting back the full distance
:35:28. > :35:32.before he came back out again. Kevin Sinfield to open the scoring
:35:32. > :35:42.for Leeds. It should be relatively simple, and it is straightforward.
:35:42. > :35:57.
:35:57. > :36:03.Lomax! He has somehow found a way through. There seemed to be enough
:36:03. > :36:13.Leeds defenders there to make sure they could score. He put enough
:36:13. > :36:14.
:36:14. > :36:21.doubts in enough minds to make sure Peacock, he's having a good start
:36:21. > :36:31.to the season, Jamie Peacock. The referee has lost patience and it's
:36:31. > :36:41.another penalty for Leeds. Decided there was too much hanging on in
:36:41. > :36:48.hold. Kevin Sinfield has again elected to go for two here. This
:36:48. > :36:58.will put Leeds level. Slipping away, St Helens, the lead. Two points at
:36:58. > :37:07.
:37:07. > :37:13.Sinfield with the dummy. Plenty in support. McGuire. In at the corner.
:37:13. > :37:21.Is there a question of a foot in touch? The referee says no and the
:37:21. > :37:31.try is given. James Buchanan with the offload. A little dummy making
:37:31. > :37:32.
:37:32. > :37:41.it bigger. Soft hands and a very good finisher. It's been a real
:37:41. > :37:48.tough game here tonight. It remains just 8-4. Maguire's kick might have
:37:49. > :37:57.been taken late there. Was that a knock-on? The referee says play on.
:37:58. > :38:01.He's over. There was a little trouble at the end. Offside and
:38:01. > :38:11.grounding are the questions. There is no doubt there that they are on
:38:11. > :38:11.
:38:11. > :38:17.side. The touch is from McCarthy. The ball went to the ground. So he
:38:17. > :38:22.picked it up safely enough. Now, what about the grounding? That
:38:22. > :38:32.looks fine. It looks fine. Leeds put daylight between themselves and
:38:32. > :38:38.
:38:38. > :38:48.tries to take them on. A little bit of confusion for the St Helens
:38:48. > :38:54.
:38:54. > :39:01.defenders. That retreating defence Ryan to score his second. What a
:39:01. > :39:11.big, big try that will prove to be. And an excellent team try it was,
:39:11. > :39:11.
:39:11. > :39:14.too. In his electrifying bobbing and weaving style. Look how well he
:39:14. > :39:23.does here. He proves himself a class act at centre this season and
:39:23. > :39:33.a classic finish for Hall. It just gets worse for St Helens. Wheeler
:39:33. > :39:40.
:39:40. > :39:46.is injured and looking a little here. Watkins. He does well to keep
:39:47. > :39:55.the ball alive. He's going for his hat-trick here. I think the referee
:39:55. > :39:59.thinks it was as well, but it's not. Not entirely sure. Well, he has
:39:59. > :40:04.lost that ball. It bounces back into his hands but he loses it
:40:04. > :40:14.again just for good measure. No try. Easy decision for the video referee
:40:14. > :40:18.
:40:18. > :40:23.for Leeds. They go back 12 months to what happened on this ground.
:40:23. > :40:32.Leeds got humiliated but now has got ample revenge. Percival. The
:40:32. > :40:36.pass away. In at the corner. Too late to really matter. Too late to
:40:36. > :40:44.produce much of a celebration. Just a hint of satisfaction from a St
:40:44. > :40:54.Helens point of view. Percival showed could composure here. Very
:40:54. > :41:10.
:41:10. > :41:20.nearly put the pass behind but he found a bit of space again. Still
:41:20. > :41:22.
:41:22. > :41:26.there. He will go. Nelly finishes. Two in a blink of an eye. But again,
:41:26. > :41:35.much, much too late to make a difference to the outcome of the
:41:35. > :41:39.game. Great footwork by Percival. And again, just causing confusion
:41:39. > :41:42.amongst the Leeds defenders but it won't matter. It's an eye-catching
:41:42. > :41:51.way for St Helens to finish their night but it will undoubtedly be
:41:51. > :41:56.It wasn't one of the classic encounter between them but Leeds
:41:56. > :41:58.pretty much set the stall out, didn't they? Yes, they did.
:41:58. > :42:08.Following on from the week before, the intensity, it's a mentality
:42:08. > :42:09.
:42:09. > :42:13.Leeds like to have. Get in front. Lead from the front and they did
:42:13. > :42:16.that all evening. I thought the intensity they played, St Helens
:42:16. > :42:25.struggled to match it and they are probably setting the benchmark at
:42:25. > :42:30.the moment. Playing extremely well. They seem to be going back down the
:42:30. > :42:38.left too. A great combination for them. They are glued together
:42:38. > :42:44.really well. He puts up a good show when he gets the ball in his hands.
:42:44. > :42:50.I like this man. He's from Down Under. A great turn of pace. Good
:42:50. > :42:54.footwork as well. You need someone like that to finish the try off.
:42:54. > :43:02.Get it over the try-line every single time. Absolutely brilliant.
:43:02. > :43:06.St Helens have some injury problems as well. Nathan Brown, I'm not in
:43:06. > :43:11.the camp, but he's brought a different mentality to the players.
:43:11. > :43:14.It takes a while to gel. With the injuries he's had as well, it takes
:43:14. > :43:19.longer. Nathan Brown is extremely experienced as a coach, and I'm
:43:19. > :43:24.sure they will hit some form quickly. Peacock is like a fine
:43:24. > :43:31.wine. Yes, he didn't play international last year and had
:43:31. > :43:36.time off. He says he is as fresh as he ever has been. Putting you to
:43:36. > :43:39.shame, isn't he? So a significant victory for Leeds. Let's see how
:43:39. > :43:49.the weekend's results have affected the standings in the Super League
:43:49. > :44:19.
:44:19. > :44:26.Join us again next week for the You can catch up on the BBC iPlayer.
:44:26. > :44:31.It's been a great effort of matches this weekend. Absolutely wonderful.
:44:31. > :44:38.Predictably unpredictable. there a standard one for you,
:44:38. > :44:44.Iestyn? Not particularly. Hull against Warrington. Our result was
:44:44. > :44:50.pretty good as well. Castleford got back to 22-22. Pretty good for us.
