:00:33. > :00:39.good evening. The Magic Weekend lived up to its name, but the clubs

:00:40. > :00:44.have been back on the beat in more familiar surroundings in the past

:00:45. > :00:51.few days. We have passed the halfway mark and every match matters between

:00:52. > :00:54.now and September. They were mauled in Manchester, but was there any

:00:55. > :01:00.home comfort for Saint Helens against Huddersfield? There was a

:01:01. > :01:06.warm welcome for Wigan at Saltford, but where the champions too hot for

:01:07. > :01:10.the red Devils? And the baffling balls are looking for a change in

:01:11. > :01:19.fortune. Bradford are away to Catalan. That battling balls. We

:01:20. > :01:22.have our own half`back pairing in the studio. Wigan's Matty Smith and

:01:23. > :01:25.Luke Robinson of Huddersfield will guide us around the latest talking

:01:26. > :01:28.points from the world of Rugby League. The standout fixture of the

:01:29. > :01:31.week was St Helens against Huddersfield, remember their last

:01:32. > :01:37.meeting was a tale of a drop goal that was, and a drop goal that

:01:38. > :01:40.wasn't. Hull's derby defeat at the Magic Weekend was a third

:01:41. > :01:43.consecutive loss for the Black and Whites.

:01:44. > :02:35.wasn't. Hull's derby defeat at the Magic Danny

:02:36. > :02:35.looking for a response and harsh words from their code after they

:02:36. > :03:38.were Helens had momentum on their side.

:03:39. > :03:49.And the referee says the touch is down as well. Saint Helens are off

:03:50. > :04:01.to a flyer. Great work by John Wilkin on the angle. Gary Wheeler

:04:02. > :04:16.kept it alive in the first place. He was the man to pick a hole in the

:04:17. > :04:30.Huddersfield defence. He is through! Skipping down the middle. Great work

:04:31. > :04:39.by the Saints. Ripping the heart out of the Huddersfield defence. It was

:04:40. > :05:05.a darting finish. Paul Wellens. We do not see him

:05:06. > :05:17.doing that quite as often these days. It is a move he has made his

:05:18. > :05:18.own over many years. Paul Wellens for Saint Helens as they continue

:05:19. > :05:48.this very energetic start. Patrick is claiming it and the

:05:49. > :05:49.referee is giving it to him. Huddersfield have a response

:05:50. > :06:05.finally. And, boy, did they need it. It is intercepted and Matty Dawson

:06:06. > :06:17.has got plenty of pace. You sense it is not over yet because

:06:18. > :06:39.Saint Helens are coming in numbers. Matty Dawson started it, Matty

:06:40. > :06:41.Dawson finished it. And Saint Helens have gone the distance in a space of

:06:42. > :07:03.a couple of tackles. John Wilkin came from nowhere. A

:07:04. > :07:15.couple of others seemed to have it covered and I think they left it for

:07:16. > :07:20.each other. Wilkin took advantage. The start of the second half and

:07:21. > :07:31.Saint Helens putting themselves back in control. It is going to be a try

:07:32. > :07:36.for Ben Blackmore. Straight from the restart after Saint Helens had

:07:37. > :07:46.scored and they are hit with a sucker punch. Ben Blackmore had the

:07:47. > :08:07.space to finish. And the big fellow is through. The

:08:08. > :08:35.referee was closest to stopping him. Richard Silverwood was

:08:36. > :08:47.uncomfortably close. Brett Ferres will claim it. It is confirmed as a

:08:48. > :08:49.try by Richard Silverwood. It is the perfect kick off that left foot of

:08:50. > :09:06.Danny Brough. Gary Wheeler with the footwork. Has

:09:07. > :09:14.he got there? There are a few questions. They are OK with the ball

:09:15. > :09:21.coming free in the first place, but did Wheeler ground the ball here.

:09:22. > :09:28.They are looking at a possible penalty try. Danny Brough dragging

:09:29. > :09:35.him back before he got there. It is a penalty try for Danny Brough

:09:36. > :09:36.pulling back on Gary Wheeler. He would have scored, the video referee

:09:37. > :10:10.decides. And Ben Blackmore with a second. It

:10:11. > :10:15.is not the best of knights for Huddersfield so far, but young Ben

:10:16. > :10:32.Blackmore is having a night to remember. Two tries in his name.

:10:33. > :10:44.Finished very nicely from Luke Walshe. That will do it for Saints,

:10:45. > :10:48.surely. Luke Walsh just rubbing the salt in the wounds in the

:10:49. > :10:53.Huddersfield Giants. Sorry to put you through that again. Paul

:10:54. > :11:00.Anderson saying Huddersfield simply did not turn up. It is the perfect

:11:01. > :11:05.comment. We did not start the game very well. We lost the ruck and from

:11:06. > :11:13.that moment on we were chasing our tails. We were just losing the ruck

:11:14. > :11:18.and when you lose it against Saint Helens, when they get on the

:11:19. > :11:23.Frankfurt and take off, you are in trouble.

:11:24. > :11:34.You were all up for it, but you did not know why you did not start so

:11:35. > :11:38.well. There were a few uncharacteristic, individual errors

:11:39. > :11:44.in defence that let us down. People were flying out of line and some

:11:45. > :11:51.people were standing back. But when you lose the ruck nine times out of

:11:52. > :11:55.ten, you lose the game. Nathan Brown was so disappointed and the whole

:11:56. > :12:02.team were clearly furious. Is that the kind of response you expected?

:12:03. > :12:05.It was not the perfect game from Saint Helens. But in the second half

:12:06. > :12:10.whoever was going to complete the set and not make as many errors was

:12:11. > :12:17.going to go on and win the game. Saints will be glad they got the two

:12:18. > :12:22.points. Mose Masco was the man of the match, the best game he has had

:12:23. > :12:29.in the season so far. He is a big guy. He is a very big guy and he is

:12:30. > :12:40.very hard to handle. He managed to get Saint Helens on the front foot.

:12:41. > :12:44.He moved as quickly as he could to get out of the way. He caused a lot

:12:45. > :12:53.of problems and got on the front foot. He was devastating. Is that

:12:54. > :12:59.what you have been expecting to see? He has had a difficult start to the

:13:00. > :13:03.year with injuries and he has had a tough start, but it is all about him

:13:04. > :13:08.getting his fitness and getting games under his belt and he proved

:13:09. > :13:16.what he can do. You had been in quite a good run, where is the form

:13:17. > :13:21.of the team? It is a strange one. It has been up and down. Even though we

:13:22. > :13:29.have gone through a mini purple patch of winning games, we have not

:13:30. > :13:33.been playing our best rugby. We felt like we were going to play better

:13:34. > :13:40.than we did the other night and it was disappointing. You both face

:13:41. > :13:49.each other next week. Are you surprised by them? They looked

:13:50. > :13:55.fantastic. I'm sure we're going to get the backlash! We will need to be

:13:56. > :14:03.at best to be a good Huddersfield side. A couple of big games for you,

:14:04. > :14:08.Wigan and then Leeds. It has been a tough couple of weeks for us! We

:14:09. > :14:12.have played against the form teams. It is important to bounce back. It

:14:13. > :14:17.would not make a break the season, but that will be a good springboard

:14:18. > :14:29.if we can get a couple of good results in recent weeks. Hull's

:14:30. > :14:32.derby defeat at The Magic Weekend was a third consecutive loss for the

:14:33. > :14:34.Black and Whites. They were back on the field on Friday, when they were

:14:35. > :14:41.up against the Super League leaders. So, Leeds and St Helens continue to

:14:42. > :14:45.set the pace at the top, but there's been plenty going on at both ends of

:14:46. > :14:48.the table. Leeds nil, Hull nill. Last tackle, ten out. The Rhinos in

:14:49. > :14:51.the Blue and Amber. Down the left side, Danny McGuire gets the pass

:14:52. > :14:55.away to Ryan Hall. The ball's dropped down. It's been picked up on

:14:56. > :14:59.the far side. It might be a scrappy try for a Leeds. They all count!

:15:00. > :15:01.That one will, as well. Joel Moon is the luckiest man at Headingley

:15:02. > :15:04.tonight. Sinfield, McGuire, dabs a little kick. Looking for Hardacre,

:15:05. > :15:08.who will get there! It's a try for Leeds. Was it Singleton in the end

:15:09. > :15:11.they got it down? Yes, it was. Brad Singleton. Down the right side,

:15:12. > :15:15.McGuire puts a kick through. It has had a Hull hand. It has come out and

:15:16. > :15:19.Leeds might have scored a killer try. Yes, they have! And it's Robbie

:15:20. > :15:22.Ward on his debut who came up with the try. What a special moment for

:15:23. > :15:25.Robbie Ward! Heremaia to play the ball. Hull is

:15:26. > :15:28.up towards halfway, down this right side. A little kick over the top

:15:29. > :15:32.by... Is it Westerman? It didn't come off. It comes off at the second

:15:33. > :15:35.attempt because Maguire has lost the ball. Hull away down the right`hand

:15:36. > :15:38.side. Coleman back on the inside. Fumbled ball. It finds Shaul.

:15:39. > :15:46.Another scrappy try, this time from Hull FC. Just a consolation.

:15:47. > :15:49.Hull are clearly not where they need to be. We have got to put that into

:15:50. > :15:53.context. They had some people missing, as well. We have to put

:15:54. > :15:56.that into context. At the same time, we played a very dogged Hull that

:15:57. > :16:01.wouldn't go away. The fact that we conceded the try late on, we have

:16:02. > :16:03.got to wear that. You know, given the bigger picture of things, we're

:16:04. > :16:10.not that concerned. It was a tough game. I thought the

:16:11. > :16:14.boys played really well in the first half. We stuck in there with them. I

:16:15. > :16:17.know they have been going well really well, Leeds, this year. They

:16:18. > :16:21.have been on fire. So, for us to stick in there for 40 minutes...

:16:22. > :16:24.We've just go got to go and try to convert that into 80.

:16:25. > :16:27.Brian McDermott, he summed that up. It wasn't a great game, it wasn't a

:16:28. > :16:30.classic, but a much more dogged performance from Hull. You played

:16:31. > :16:34.them a couple of weeks ago. What is wrong, do you think, there? It is

:16:35. > :16:38.hard to put your finger on it. They are are obviously in a tough place

:16:39. > :16:41.at the minute. They have had some bad results over previous weeks. I'm

:16:42. > :16:45.sure that they are working hard, they are training hard. It is just

:16:46. > :16:48.not happening for them at the minute. They have got to stay strong

:16:49. > :16:52.as a team and just, hopefully, push through that and get a win sooner or

:16:53. > :16:55.later for the fans, and for their confidence. Is it one of those

:16:56. > :17:00.things, any win will do right now? They just need a win? Yes, winning

:17:01. > :17:03.is a habit, as is losing. They seem to be in the habit of losing at the

:17:04. > :17:07.moment. So, when you're in times like that, you will do anything for

:17:08. > :17:11.a win, just to get a little bit of confidence back into the camp. He

:17:12. > :17:14.has chopped and changed the team a little bit in terms of the halves

:17:15. > :17:17.and things like that. They don't seem to have a pattern of play

:17:18. > :17:19.necessarily. This defensively was much, much better, but

:17:20. > :17:25.attacking`wise, they didn't seem to have that much. Yes, he has chopped

:17:26. > :17:28.and changed the half`backs. I think it is important for the team to find

:17:29. > :17:32.your two dominant half`backs and keep them there for a run of games.

:17:33. > :17:35.That's when you'll find the team will be playing a little bit better

:17:36. > :17:38.and a bit more consistently. They're not quite doing that at the minute

:17:39. > :17:42.and they're not playing well. So, maybe Lee Radford wants to change it

:17:43. > :17:46.up because of that. It is a tough one, but I think they play London

:17:47. > :17:50.next week and maybe that is a win there for them. I'm sure London will

:17:51. > :17:53.be wanting to get the two points as well, because they will see a Hull

:17:54. > :17:57.side that can be there for the taking. As for Leeds, I suppose, a

:17:58. > :18:01.good team wins when they are not necessarily playing at their very

:18:02. > :18:03.best. Yeah, and not only that, but they have got key players missing.

:18:04. > :18:08.You sometimes forget that key players are out. They just seem to

:18:09. > :18:10.carry on their business, as usual. I think Danny McGuire has really

:18:11. > :18:13.stepped up. Obviously, it is disjointed little bit. Kevin

:18:14. > :18:17.Sinfield has to go and play hooker a little bit. There has been a little

:18:18. > :18:20.bit more pressure, I suppose, on Danny McGuire but he really seems to

:18:21. > :18:23.have stood up and is playing some good stuff. Although the tries were

:18:24. > :18:27.not great, you might say they're lucky, but I think you make your own

:18:28. > :18:30.luck and Leeds are working hard for each other and putting themselves in

:18:31. > :18:34.good positions to get that bounce of the ball. I should give you a little

:18:35. > :18:38.word on Robbie Wall. You mentioned him the last time you were in and

:18:39. > :18:41.said he might get a go and to score a try on his debut, he will remember

:18:42. > :18:44.that, won't he? Yes, it is brilliant. To get your chance when

:18:45. > :18:48.you are behind someone like Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield and people

:18:49. > :18:52.like that, you have got to take your chances when they are given to you.

:18:53. > :18:55.He has come in and scored a try and I am hoping he goes on and does well

:18:56. > :18:58.for himself. So, Leeds and St Helens continue to

:18:59. > :19:03.set the pace at the top, but there is plenty going on at both ends of

:19:04. > :19:10.the table. The Wolves are making progress, but did the Warrington

:19:11. > :19:13.revival continue at Wakefield? Widnes were in The Jungle, but was

:19:14. > :19:20.there anything to write home about for the Vikings?

:19:21. > :19:21.And, the best of the rest ` all the tries from the remaining matches in

:19:22. > :19:36.Round 14. Bradford will find out next week if

:19:37. > :19:39.they'll get any of the points back. Remember, they were deducted six

:19:40. > :19:41.points for going into administration over the winter and their appeal

:19:42. > :19:45.against that punishment will be heard on Wednesday week. The Bulls

:19:46. > :19:46.were looking for points in Perpignan on Saturday, but the opening set the

:19:47. > :19:54.tone, didn't it, Matty? Yeah, they didn't start well

:19:55. > :19:58.whatsoever, Bradford. Catalan has got off to a really quick start,

:19:59. > :20:01.they scored 18 points, didn't they, in the first period of the game?

:20:02. > :20:05.It's disappointing again for Bradford, but the Catalans are a

:20:06. > :20:08.different beast at home. They don't tend to travel well, but they are

:20:09. > :20:11.certainly a different team when they are playing Perpignan. Elliott

:20:12. > :20:14.Whitehead is back for them, as well and he has had a great season,

:20:15. > :20:17.hasn't he? He is a massive player for them. A great signing. He is

:20:18. > :20:22.playing over there with Leon, his Bradford mate. He is really bringing

:20:23. > :20:26.out the best in him. He pops up again here with a try. He has scored

:20:27. > :20:29.a few tries this year and he is a great signing for them. He is doing

:20:30. > :20:33.really well. If you concede straight from the kick`off, is that a sign of

:20:34. > :20:37.the team that is struggling? Yes, it is. I don't think you need to be an

:20:38. > :20:40.expert on Rugby League to know that if they score in the first set

:20:41. > :20:43.things are not really going well. Yes, Bradford are very low on

:20:44. > :20:46.confidence, very little on troops. They don't have many forwards, which

:20:47. > :20:49.is making it really difficult for them. I'm not sure if, regarding the

:20:50. > :20:54.points, whether they are going to get them back or not. It is hanging

:20:55. > :20:58.over them, really. Have you ever had a dog stop your game? I have never

:20:59. > :21:02.seen that before! No! Maybe Bradford have sent him on for a bit of help,

:21:03. > :21:05.I'm not sure. A bit of respite! Possibly the highlights for some of

:21:06. > :21:08.the Bradford fans, that, because it was more of the same in the second

:21:09. > :21:11.half, wasn't it? Yeah, Catalan, like Matty said, they play really good

:21:12. > :21:14.stuff at home. They are quite a force at home and Bradford, they are

:21:15. > :21:18.just struggling for numbers. They need to get some troops back on

:21:19. > :21:21.board. They need to get some big men back on board, really. Their

:21:22. > :21:24.forwards, really. Shane Walker, who started off as a centre, has been

:21:25. > :21:28.pushed up to prop along with a lot of other young lads. So, yes, more

:21:29. > :21:31.than anything else, they need their players back on board. The conundrum

:21:32. > :21:34.of Catalan at home versus Catalan away, because when they are playing

:21:35. > :21:37.in this country they are not even half the force at the moment, are

:21:38. > :21:40.they? No. Obviously, the weather over their suits them. They train in

:21:41. > :21:44.it everyday and they play it every other week. I think they travel

:21:45. > :21:50.probably plays a part when they come over to here. But it is no excuse.

:21:51. > :21:53.They are professional club. They are a different team when they play

:21:54. > :21:56.away. They have got to be better. There was no pulling the punches

:21:57. > :22:00.from Francis Cummins. He said that the team were embarrassing for the

:22:01. > :22:06.fans. What can they do unless they get some players back? I don't know.

:22:07. > :22:09.As I said before, I'm not sure if the points deduction, this meeting

:22:10. > :22:11.and everything that is going on behind`the`scenes, if that gets

:22:12. > :22:15.sorted quickly... That is hanging over the players. I'm not sure if it

:22:16. > :22:18.is having an effect on them. As I spoke about before, they need a few

:22:19. > :22:22.props back on board. Wakefield next week and the need to step up for

:22:23. > :22:25.that, don't they? Yes. They need to, basically, win the games with the

:22:26. > :22:28.teams in and around. That comes down to when they play London and

:22:29. > :22:31.Wakefield and teams like that. Let's have a look at Wakefield. They

:22:32. > :22:35.were up against Warrington. Wakefield having been in a good run

:22:36. > :22:38.of form, have wobbled, haven't they? And they are tough to beat at home,

:22:39. > :22:42.as well. Warrington, they went there and they came up with some great

:22:43. > :22:45.tries and they are playing back to their best I think. Ratchford has

:22:46. > :22:49.come up with a few, as well. Tony Smith picks out then Ben Currie, not

:22:50. > :22:51.necessarily a big name, but he picked him out as one of the star

:22:52. > :23:01.performers. Yes, he is a great young He is a big, strong back rower and

:23:02. > :23:43.he certainly played well today pairings. Chris Bridge has then

:23:44. > :24:41.there. Is this a conundrum for the manager? Yes,

:24:42. > :24:49.we are halfway through. They have got to start picking up some points.

:24:50. > :24:56.It is between them, Catalan and Hull FC who are looking for that spot.

:24:57. > :25:01.It was an Old Boy's reunion when Salford played Wigan on Thursday

:25:02. > :25:04.night. Matty Smith was one of a number of players taking on their

:25:05. > :25:07.old club, and the Red Devils are of course now coached by former Wigan

:25:08. > :25:16.assistant, Iestyn Harris. Dave Woods saw this one.

:25:17. > :25:26.Salford might sense that night `` that tonight could be their night.

:25:27. > :25:32.Wigan are racked with injuries and is the red Devils have plenty of

:25:33. > :25:34.points to prove on home soil. Several of those Salford starters

:25:35. > :25:46.have Wigan connections. Maybe they can deliver a knockout

:25:47. > :25:55.blow? Wigan but like many of their main starters.

:25:56. > :26:17.It is a decent position they have found themselves in. Puletua is

:26:18. > :26:26.testing the early resolve of Wigan. Meli is over! The referee wants to

:26:27. > :26:48.go upstairs to look at the video. They are looking at obstruction. No

:26:49. > :26:55.try. Salford fans are disappointed. They have the numbers, Shirley! The

:26:56. > :27:04.referee, again, wants to go upstairs. Was there an obstruction?

:27:05. > :27:34.No try! That is one each, now. Well, it is going to be another of

:27:35. > :27:50.these! It is turning into death by video referee here tonight.

:27:51. > :28:01.It is all rather confusing. They are looking for an obstruction. They

:28:02. > :28:06.have made their decision. No try! It is another one! No try on a night of

:28:07. > :28:28.no tries! John Bateman is over! He scores!

:28:29. > :28:38.Inevitably. We have to go to the video repertory again. Bateman

:28:39. > :28:45.looked like he was onside. The referee was right in line with the

:28:46. > :28:50.last kick, so that must've been OK. A try is finally given! The deadlock

:28:51. > :28:51.broke the next commission might grate that work by Matty Smith.

:28:52. > :29:14.Bateman in hot pursuit to score. Williams might have been pushed. Are

:29:15. > :29:23.we getting a decision on the field? No, we are not. Looking for the

:29:24. > :29:32.knock`on. The touch judge might have seen something wrong. It seemed to

:29:33. > :29:38.be a clean pick`up in slow motion. Sam Powell is awarded the try.

:29:39. > :29:52.Imagine an obstruction in there as well!

:29:53. > :30:04.Burgess slides in and scorers. Wigan have a third try. Up we go again.

:30:05. > :30:07.Nobody is in the mood to make a decision on the field tonight. He

:30:08. > :30:17.seemed a long way from the touchline. Well, it seemed fairly

:30:18. > :30:26.clear and it was fairly clear. The try is given. He was a long way from

:30:27. > :30:41.the whitewash, surely. But it is a try and a smile. Matty Smith went

:30:42. > :30:52.for a drop goal. Salford are having the energy sucked out of them.

:30:53. > :31:00.They have got the space and they have got the pace with burgess who

:31:01. > :31:09.is going to skip away for his second try of the night. Of that there is

:31:10. > :31:22.surely no doubt whatsoever. The try is given! Fabulous! Burgess with

:31:23. > :31:35.real pace. Simply putting the foot down and scoring the try.

:31:36. > :31:55.Salford have not threatened too much here tonight so far. And Meli in.

:31:56. > :32:00.Salford have some consolation, but it is scant consolation on a night

:32:01. > :32:04.when they were well and beaten by the

:32:05. > :32:13.at the grand old age of 26, you are up in that team. These young guys

:32:14. > :32:19.are fantastic. They are fantastic for us and we have got a lot of

:32:20. > :32:22.senior boys, experienced boys, but these young guys are really playing

:32:23. > :32:29.well and in the last two weeks they have stepped up and played well.

:32:30. > :32:38.They defended and they kept the tries out and it was wonderful to

:32:39. > :32:42.see. They seem such a tight unit. We were up by 25 points, but we did not

:32:43. > :32:48.want to concede a try and that is the kind of culture. When Meli got

:32:49. > :32:52.over he was not happy with that and we have got a great squad of players

:32:53. > :32:58.and they all want to dig deep for each other. Joe burgess has been

:32:59. > :33:03.doing fantastic all season and Ryan Hampshire we have seen less of, but

:33:04. > :33:11.both of them are talented. Yes, they are really talented kids. These are

:33:12. > :33:20.a couple of finishes from burgess. I don't know why he went to the screen

:33:21. > :33:26.on this. But Hampshire will also look so confident. He is a skilful

:33:27. > :33:32.player, he is fast. He is definitely one for the future. He comes in and

:33:33. > :33:38.he has not played for a while and to come and play like this issue

:33:39. > :33:44.showing how talented he is. When you look down the team sheets, should

:33:45. > :33:49.Salford have won it? No, Wigan is just a conveyor belt and I have been

:33:50. > :33:53.part of that conveyor belt. In that club if you are not playing to your

:33:54. > :34:00.full potential, somebody behind you will be nipping at your heels ready

:34:01. > :34:04.to take your spot. It is seamless from under nineteenths to the first

:34:05. > :34:10.team. They seem to slot in and get on with the job. Is that one of the

:34:11. > :34:15.problems Salford have got? They are trying to apply some of the Wigan

:34:16. > :34:21.system to a team that has not been playing like that. Yes, but you have

:34:22. > :34:24.to give the coach a bit of time to get the young players through the

:34:25. > :34:29.system and play how he wants them to play. It is not going to happen

:34:30. > :34:34.overnight for him. They have got a great side at the minute, some great

:34:35. > :34:39.individual players, but they have to buy into the culture and buy into

:34:40. > :34:46.the wake he wants them to play. Let's get into the thorny issue up

:34:47. > :34:52.obstruction. Has it all become a bit too technical and all gone upstairs

:34:53. > :34:57.to the video refs? It has all gone a bit far and they went to the video

:34:58. > :35:01.refs every single time and it is slowing the game down. There is

:35:02. > :35:06.probably a case for a few of them when they take people out, but we

:35:07. > :35:11.are talking inches. It is slowing the game right up and they should

:35:12. > :35:19.make a decision on the field. I am all for it using technology and

:35:20. > :35:24.getting the right decision. But the amount of times they had to go to

:35:25. > :35:28.the video refs and they are adjudicating totally differently on

:35:29. > :35:33.the Thursday and Friday as they are on Sunday. How can we go without a

:35:34. > :35:38.video refs on Sunday? There needs to be a video refs at every game or

:35:39. > :35:42.not. There needs to be common sense as well. If somebody is taken out

:35:43. > :35:47.miles away and they are not going to be effective, let the gameplay. But

:35:48. > :35:51.at the same time it is an obstruction. There needs to be a bit

:35:52. > :35:58.of common sense as well as the rules. He went to the screen for the

:35:59. > :36:04.first one and if he does it for the first one, he has to do it for all

:36:05. > :36:08.of them. Who would have placed Castleford and Widnes in the top

:36:09. > :36:13.eight when the preseason predictions were being made. That is exactly

:36:14. > :36:19.where they are, and they met at the Jungle on Sunday. After an

:36:20. > :36:26.impressive form all season, this was a keenly anticipated match and

:36:27. > :36:34.Michael Shenton scored after just six minutes, but Widnes responded

:36:35. > :36:40.with a magnificent try. They all combined with quick hands and quick

:36:41. > :36:47.thinking to send Brown in on his 250th career appearance. Danny

:36:48. > :36:54.Tickle's conversion but Widnes in front. Man of the match Luke Dorn

:36:55. > :36:57.showed great determination to reach the line. He did enough to present

:36:58. > :37:06.Jake Webster with the easiest of chances. Just before the half hour,

:37:07. > :37:11.Widnes restored their lead when Stefan Marshall finished off a

:37:12. > :37:16.flowing move. The Vikings were in front at the break. A tight match at

:37:17. > :37:24.this point, but that changed early in the second half. First, Jack

:37:25. > :37:31.Owens lost possession and Castleford forward pounced to put them back in

:37:32. > :37:34.front. One minute later came the moment Widnes coach Denis Betts

:37:35. > :37:45.described as the turning point of the game. Punches were thrown and

:37:46. > :37:48.players were sin`binned. Denis Betts said his side became too emotional

:37:49. > :37:57.after the fight, but Castleford kept cool heads. Luke Dorn touchdown

:37:58. > :38:04.moments after the flare`up in some style. He repeated the trick just

:38:05. > :38:08.two minutes later. Luke Dorn, now in his second spell at Castleford, is

:38:09. > :38:17.only just back in the side after six weeks out with injury and showed why

:38:18. > :38:20.the coach rates him so highly. Darrell Clarke scored a

:38:21. > :38:25.well`deserved night try of the season. Widnes crossed the line

:38:26. > :38:38.twice more, but they were little more than consolation. Cameron

:38:39. > :38:47.Phelps got the first one, followed by a fine effort from Gilmour.

:38:48. > :38:54.Denis Betts said the fight was the key part because his players got

:38:55. > :38:58.emotionally involved and were looking for retribution. Can you see

:38:59. > :39:09.that in a match? Yes, sometimes it is about landmarks. It is not a

:39:10. > :39:14.fight I would have picked, but from that moment on by all accounts

:39:15. > :39:22.Castleford seemed more level`headed than Widnes. Widnes made a few

:39:23. > :39:26.errors in defence and Castleford ignored that situation better. You

:39:27. > :39:29.have got Castleford in the quarterfinals of the Challenge Cup.

:39:30. > :39:36.Have they surprised you how well they have done? Not at all. They are

:39:37. > :39:43.a more balanced side with two new halfbacks and they take a lot of the

:39:44. > :39:48.workload of each other. And they score as well. They throw the ball

:39:49. > :39:52.around, they off`load, they pass and they really are dangerous and they

:39:53. > :39:57.are going to score points if they throw the ball around. It is up to

:39:58. > :40:12.us in two weeks to be good in defence. Can Widnes stay in the top

:40:13. > :40:16.eight? Yes, I think we can. And Kevin is playing very well. The

:40:17. > :40:21.leadership is controlling the side and offering a lot of direction. It

:40:22. > :40:26.is really good for us at the moment. The popular theory is London have

:40:27. > :40:34.been getting closer to their first win of the season. Are people taking

:40:35. > :40:38.them seriously? A little bit. There is always a bit of resurgence when a

:40:39. > :40:51.new coach takes over. You should sack coach every week really. They

:40:52. > :40:55.seem to be making themselves more competitive in games. Unfortunately,

:40:56. > :41:01.it is still not bringing results, which is the main thing. When you

:41:02. > :41:07.watch them and some of the scores Hull KR get, are they too easy

:41:08. > :41:19.score? Yes, but they are a well`trained side. And they have got

:41:20. > :41:27.good back`ups. London need to take a little bit of them. What is going to

:41:28. > :41:34.be the key for London if they can get over the line? It is tricky. It

:41:35. > :41:39.is a bit of belief and keeping the confidence in the side. If you have

:41:40. > :41:50.a losing streak, it edges away your confidence. They have got to stay

:41:51. > :41:56.strong as a unit. Hopefully they need to tighten up the defence. For

:41:57. > :42:04.Hull KR they had such a great win at magical weekend. Is that the side of

:42:05. > :42:09.a team on the up? Yes, I think it is. They are firmly in the top eight

:42:10. > :42:13.position. They have got some great hearths and they are playing good

:42:14. > :42:22.stuff and that Magic Weekend can either break you or make you. How

:42:23. > :42:26.key has Josh Hodgson been to them? He has been fantastic. Hull KR have

:42:27. > :42:32.got a lot of forwards like the Walker Brothers. He seems to be

:42:33. > :42:38.reaping rewards with that. He looks dynamic and quick. He has been one

:42:39. > :42:52.of the form players in the league so far. Is the Kyle `` key for Hull KR

:42:53. > :42:57.to keep the players fit? Not everyone has got the new system, but

:42:58. > :43:00.it is key for everyone to keep the most experienced players out on the

:43:01. > :43:06.pitch at the right time and they seem to be doing that at the minute.

:43:07. > :43:15.Can you ceil and in getting a win this season? Will it happen? I am

:43:16. > :43:21.not sure. Can I sit on the fence? They have got Bradford and hold this

:43:22. > :43:28.week. There is a lot of pressure on. That is a horrible question. I

:43:29. > :43:32.will let you off. London continued to search for their first win. Let's

:43:33. > :43:48.see how the results have left the Super League table.

:43:49. > :44:00.Huddersfield and Wigan get us going on Thursday. Remember the Giants won

:44:01. > :44:53.at Wigan on the opening night of the season. Five
