:00:31. > :00:37.The heat has been on how thd top and the bottom of Super League. The

:00:38. > :00:39.glorious Midsummer weekend `nd we glorious Midsummer weekend `nd we

:00:40. > :00:43.have highlights from all seven games. Not fun in the sun for

:00:44. > :00:58.everybody, but plenty going on. The early birds on internathonal

:00:59. > :01:05.duty, taking on Catalan. Matt Diskin looks to make a distance as the

:01:06. > :01:10.Bradford Bulls battle for Stper League survival. And the box from

:01:11. > :01:27.Brazil. Eight Gartner reveals his roots with the Samba nation. It is

:01:28. > :01:38.getting quite congested at the top of the Super League table. Jamie

:01:39. > :01:50.Peacock and Jon Wilkin are right in the middle of it and they are here

:01:51. > :01:54.to navigate us through the latest ups and downs. It was Wigan that

:01:55. > :01:57.went into the weekend in first place. Hitting top spot on Wednesday

:01:58. > :01:58.after winning their game in hand against Widnes. After a couple of

:01:59. > :02:01.months out injured Josh Charnley scored five and past 100 in his

:02:02. > :02:06.career on his return to the side as they hammered Widnes and le`pfrog

:02:07. > :02:14.leads and Saint Helens. At Wakefield it was a different story. Wd'll

:02:15. > :02:21.pressure on the Wigan line here They are going to be driven forward

:02:22. > :02:31.once again. Looking to get close to the try line and set up a position

:02:32. > :02:38.for the home side. Couple of metres on the right`hand side. And he gets

:02:39. > :02:40.through. And he takes that ball and gives Wakefield the lead. This is

:02:41. > :02:44.Williams. Matty Smith. This is a good run by Hughes. Bursting into

:02:45. > :02:51.space and he has got the ball back from 30 metres. It is the rdsponse

:02:52. > :02:53.Wigan were looking for. What a well timed run by Jack Hughes, fhnding

:02:54. > :02:55.the and motoring through it. Jack Murphy is clear. He has got support

:02:56. > :03:00.on the inside. Liam Farrell takes the ball and another great love by

:03:01. > :03:03.Wigan. And now the cake will commence on the left`hand shde. It

:03:04. > :03:06.will be collected and put down by Anthony Gilling. What a trelendous

:03:07. > :03:10.piece of skill by Anthony Gdlling. And he has found space. He lade that

:03:11. > :03:17.himself. He wrong`footed thd Wigan defence. He has dragged his side

:03:18. > :03:19.back into it. It was his first try since returning from Salford and

:03:20. > :03:24.from the restart the Wildcats levelled the score when Richard Owen

:03:25. > :03:26.raced away to score and it was converted to make it 18 apidce with

:03:27. > :03:31.a couple of minutes to go bdfore half`time. The Wakefield captain

:03:32. > :03:37.tried to rubble his way over and gets through one. Going tow`rds the

:03:38. > :03:42.line anti`has held up. A cotple of metres short and looking very

:03:43. > :03:47.vulnerable. Over the line. @nd he comes up with a 4`point. Thdy backed

:03:48. > :03:55.themselves to go in for the try and they have done it. Matty Smhth has

:03:56. > :03:59.got runners outside him. Thhs is Farrell. He is going to go hn again

:04:00. > :04:05.and Liam Farrell get his second score. First attack for Wig`n of the

:04:06. > :04:09.second half. Along the line. A lovely forward by sergeants.

:04:10. > :04:14.Brilliant by sergeants. That was a brilliant move forward by the

:04:15. > :04:21.full`back and he has got his side back in front. McShane is qtick and

:04:22. > :04:28.dummy half. He is lively. Got it out to Tim Smith. Nearly got ovdr. One

:04:29. > :04:34.tackle left. And the try. And another remarkable twist in this

:04:35. > :04:42.game. One more score could sink them. They have got to defend out

:04:43. > :04:47.here. Paul Sykes. Coming back in. Has he got it over? He has. That

:04:48. > :04:51.could be the one. That could be the one that wins the game for

:04:52. > :04:57.Wakefield. That was quite some win for Wakefield. They will be very

:04:58. > :05:01.pleased. The Wigan side had played three games in eight games `nd had

:05:02. > :05:05.young players in there. I think they have got a strong culture in their

:05:06. > :05:08.team and players that can slot in here and everywhere. They whll be

:05:09. > :05:13.pleased and for the coach that is two wins out of two. Tim Smhth is

:05:14. > :05:20.back after an unhappy spell at Salford. How important has he been

:05:21. > :05:23.in the past couple of games? I think is crucial. He seems naturally very

:05:24. > :05:27.comfortable. The Salford move did not quite work out. He is in an

:05:28. > :05:32.environment where he is thrhving and they get the best out of hil. A lot

:05:33. > :05:38.of labour evolved around Til Smith. It seems to have gone back to that

:05:39. > :05:42.pattern. `` a lot of play evolved around. Give credit to Dannx Kirmond

:05:43. > :05:48.and people like that. The forwards are a real threat. And the love to

:05:49. > :05:52.Wigan for next year, they h`ve got people laying a good platform for

:05:53. > :05:59.Tim Smith. What more can thdy do this season to build on that? They

:06:00. > :06:02.need to get clear of Bradford. They might have two or three mord wins in

:06:03. > :06:06.the remaining games they have got left and make sure that thex are

:06:07. > :06:15.definitely in Super League. `` next year. `` in company macro ndxt year.

:06:16. > :06:20.`` in the Super League next year. They have got a blueprint. The coach

:06:21. > :06:25.came in at the back end of the year and improve the following sdason.

:06:26. > :06:29.Can they hang on to Tim Smith? It does seem to work with the rest of

:06:30. > :06:35.the team and bring the best out of the other players. I am surd they

:06:36. > :06:38.would like to retain his services. Going forward they need to be

:06:39. > :06:44.consistent in the season. Not fluctuate in form. And like you said

:06:45. > :06:49.eight great blueprint for C`stleford to look at. `` a very good

:06:50. > :06:56.blueprint. I am sure he will be keen to make an impact. They do not want

:06:57. > :07:00.his best assets to be stripped away. They probably got sick of hhs best

:07:01. > :07:05.players leaving. For James Webster, the key is the board. And they are

:07:06. > :07:11.allowing him to keep the pl`yers he has got. You need to retain their

:07:12. > :07:16.talent over a long period of time. You talk about Wigan having three

:07:17. > :07:21.games in one week. Shaun Wane, he said the best team won. He lade no

:07:22. > :07:25.excuses. He is very honest. I think he will take a lot out of the

:07:26. > :07:31.Wakefield game. I think he had one eye on that game on Friday with

:07:32. > :07:35.Wigan. You know what Shaun Wane is like. He's emotional guy. In terms

:07:36. > :07:39.of emotional intelligence I think he is one of the best. He would have

:07:40. > :07:47.talked about that game for ` couple of weeks. I think it is a whn`win.

:07:48. > :07:50.He blooded some players. For the big game against Saint Helens. Saint

:07:51. > :07:56.Helens would return to the top of the table if they could get the

:07:57. > :08:00.debtor of Castleford. They were hammered 42`0 last week and they

:08:01. > :08:09.needed to respond. `` get the better of Castleford. Yes, very nice of

:08:10. > :08:12.you! Both teams started verx well. This was a great one with Tom

:08:13. > :08:21.Makinson. As a young player on the wing, he has consistently played

:08:22. > :08:23.well. Castleford had a lot of possession. They took some

:08:24. > :08:30.opportunities in the first half This was going across to Dixon in

:08:31. > :08:33.the corner. The telling factor is the missed opportunities. They put

:08:34. > :08:44.it down after a clean break. That allowed us through the stord warts.

:08:45. > :08:48.`` through the defence. He did not realise what assets he had brought

:08:49. > :08:52.until he went back there. Hd is a very good communicator and natural

:08:53. > :08:57.leader. I think we overlookdd the defensive qualities in turn the

:08:58. > :09:02.organising the defensive line`out. He is exceptional and fat. Very

:09:03. > :09:06.experienced. Because of his lack of speed he has to find himself in the

:09:07. > :09:11.right position. I think we have become obsessed with speed `t times.

:09:12. > :09:19.Jonny Lomax is a big mess btt it is good to have Paul Owens. Yot talk

:09:20. > :09:24.about halfbacks and managing the game well and Luke managed ht very

:09:25. > :09:29.well. Kicking have the right time. And that is what you want from the

:09:30. > :09:34.halfback. When we played ag`inst yourself and Luke Walsh havd been

:09:35. > :09:39.playing, he's very organised. We can see Castleford coming back hnto the

:09:40. > :09:46.game. And this is the first time I have ever seen the play on. A source

:09:47. > :09:54.of frustration for everybodx. And for the cameraman! This acttally was

:09:55. > :10:01.a try score. Luke Walsh has been very important. It is what we have

:10:02. > :10:04.been lacking. You get your key players touching the ball most

:10:05. > :10:10.playing well. Then you have a good chance. I think it is a better team

:10:11. > :10:14.when he is playing with his guidance and leadership. They get thd next

:10:15. > :10:20.10% out of the players, good leaders. I saw that against

:10:21. > :10:24.yourselves. He brings that experience in the big games. That is

:10:25. > :10:31.what you get with experiencdd players. Castleford to their credit,

:10:32. > :10:33.probably to our detriment, we did not defend well have the backend and

:10:34. > :10:38.they took advantage. How much has the challenge cup taken out of them

:10:39. > :10:43.and is the semifinal hanging over them? It is hard to say. We have a

:10:44. > :10:48.bit of expectation. Into thd semifinal. People are looking at

:10:49. > :10:52.them and saying they are a threat and you prepare differently. Very

:10:53. > :10:58.much like Huddersfield last year, top of the table. They are preparing

:10:59. > :11:02.differently this year. They are not to be underestimated, Castldford.

:11:03. > :11:07.Deservedly in the semifinals. They turn up and take them seriotsly You

:11:08. > :11:13.have to be defending very wdll. A lot of the tries, they have got that

:11:14. > :11:18.much passing between them. Latt Diskin took charge of Bradford for

:11:19. > :11:20.the first time on Friday. Into memory control after France's

:11:21. > :11:29.Cummings was sacked last wedk. They will make an announcement on Tuesday

:11:30. > :11:36.and James Lonsdale is a big favourite. Jimmy is just wh`t the

:11:37. > :11:40.club needs. He is passionatd about the club. He has been under some

:11:41. > :11:49.good coaches. Tony Smith, Brian Madderson. I think he has h`d the

:11:50. > :11:53.makings of it for a while. He knows what it means to play for the club

:11:54. > :11:58.and the traditions it has got antibodies that. A fairly

:11:59. > :12:01.challenging job. I do not think any coaching job is easy. It is

:12:02. > :12:06.difficult coaching a professional Rugby League side. And with

:12:07. > :12:11.interaction with Jimmy I thhnk he would be a fantastic head coach It

:12:12. > :12:16.rings into focus the structtre. We have had transition and rot`tion of

:12:17. > :12:21.coaches. Has the pressure of promotion and relegation, wd could

:12:22. > :12:27.see a fluctuation of coaching and playing talent a lot more. Xou hope

:12:28. > :12:32.that in the short`term, it does not take over. With the new strtcture.

:12:33. > :12:37.What did you think about thd sacking of Francis Cummins? It is dhfficult

:12:38. > :12:41.because he has been loyal to the club and he did the best job

:12:42. > :12:44.possible. I think he tried to coach the team with what is going on in

:12:45. > :12:49.the background, it was a very difficult thing to do. At the end of

:12:50. > :12:54.the day they have made the decision and they will stick with it. For

:12:55. > :12:59.Jimmy to be successful, thex need to let him know what is going to

:13:00. > :13:02.happen. If not, Jimmy needs to plan for life in the division below

:13:03. > :13:07.because I do not think they can stay up unless they get those pohnts

:13:08. > :13:11.back. He needs to plan for that Bradford against Hull KR on Friday.

:13:12. > :13:16.Getting closer to crunch tile. They must start winning soon. Thdy needed

:13:17. > :13:24.point is to get back into the play`offs. Stuart Pyke saw this one.

:13:25. > :13:36.Scrum start from Rovers. Thdy really have to win this game. They are not

:13:37. > :13:42.going to stop him. Burns from close range. They have dominated the

:13:43. > :13:49.opening stages. Travis Burns gets the first try and Rovers get their

:13:50. > :13:54.reward. Matt Diskin has been really busy in the opening stages. Tried to

:13:55. > :14:00.lead from the front. Gaskell now. That is a great pass. He will surely

:14:01. > :14:07.score. Lee Gaskell with a stblime pass. Bradford falls are in the

:14:08. > :14:13.game. I think they are going to check for the obstruction. `` the

:14:14. > :14:23.Bradford Bulls. That looks to be all right. Robert Hicks is making sure.

:14:24. > :14:26.The ball is caught on the ottside. No problem. Defender has colmitted

:14:27. > :14:34.himself to the attacker. I think that is play on. There is the

:14:35. > :14:46.answer. A try every day of the week. And the decision is... Try. They are

:14:47. > :14:52.back in it. And here is Hodgson Involved in so much of what Hull KR

:14:53. > :15:00.are doing. Speculation about his future. He will go on his own. From

:15:01. > :15:10.absolutely nowhere. He has been chased by the NRL. And that is why.

:15:11. > :15:15.Just before half`time. A prdtty decent effort so far from Bradford.

:15:16. > :15:20.That is a loose pass. And it has been picked off. An absolutd

:15:21. > :15:26.disaster for Bradford right on the stroke of half`time. What a time for

:15:27. > :15:35.Rovers to score. Kris Welhal 's Hull KR have taken control.

:15:36. > :15:44.Again, a strong start to thd half from Rovers. Greg Hall. Through the

:15:45. > :15:51.gap. What a good try for thd winger playing in the centre. Just as

:15:52. > :16:00.pace to burn, Craig Hall. Do not pace to burn, Craig Hall. Do not

:16:01. > :16:05.push him in the ruck! As good a performance as we have seen in a

:16:06. > :16:11.while. Bradford have been on the back foot permanently. Brought down.

:16:12. > :16:17.That is a great pass by Burns and Greg Eden will score the trx. Travis

:16:18. > :16:26.Burns has been exceptional tonight. Greg Eden touches down. And it is

:16:27. > :16:30.becoming a rout. And still they are knocking on the door. This hs a good

:16:31. > :16:37.spell for the Bradford Bulls. Adam O'Brien. Straight from dummx half.

:16:38. > :16:43.He has tried that once or twice before tonight. Third time lucky.

:16:44. > :16:56.And he scores. The second R`dford try. A strong one `` Bradford tried.

:16:57. > :17:03.A strong run. Where on earth was the Bradford defence? Walker, the

:17:04. > :17:09.easiest he will score this season. He will not give up. They whll not

:17:10. > :17:16.give up. They are putting in a decent shift, Bradford. And he does

:17:17. > :17:21.well. That is a lovely off`load They are rewarded with a trx.

:17:22. > :17:25.Thoroughly deserved. They h`ve not given up, that is for certahn. Henry

:17:26. > :17:41.Paul. Another mistake from Bradford. It

:17:42. > :17:48.really has gone wrong. Play on, says the referee. The mistake from

:17:49. > :17:55.George. Rovers clearly have not finished. They want more pohnts

:17:56. > :18:02.Burns involved again. Craig Hall involved. Another fantastic try for

:18:03. > :18:14.Craig Hall. His second. Rovdrs are running riot. One last effort may be

:18:15. > :18:19.for Bradford. Last couple of minutes, kicking forward. A pick`up.

:18:20. > :18:26.Eden! Nobody is going to stop Greg Eden. 95 yard. What a speci`l way to

:18:27. > :18:31.round off a fabulous night for Hull Kingston Rovers. Bradford are

:18:32. > :18:37.staring down a Super League black hole. Rovers are still in the

:18:38. > :18:44.play`offs. Hull Kingston Rovers needed that. Yes, they needdd that.

:18:45. > :18:47.Travis Burns and Josh Hodson were particularly influential. They were

:18:48. > :18:52.the best players by some distance and played particularly well. Travis

:18:53. > :18:58.Burns, we have picked him ott. Has he grown this year? I love him. I

:18:59. > :19:03.think he's a great player. So competitive. The tough it gdts the

:19:04. > :19:09.better he plays. That is wh`t you want. A real leader within that

:19:10. > :19:16.team. I think that they would take him any day. What does he bring to

:19:17. > :19:20.the team? Toughness. Aggression Surprisingly for a halfback,

:19:21. > :19:26.physicality. More so the attributes that he brings to the team, mental

:19:27. > :19:31.things. Mentally he is very tough. He is a competitor and does not give

:19:32. > :19:37.up on lost causes. He gets ` last ditch tackle, how many times? It is

:19:38. > :19:42.these qualities which make him stand out. He has grown as well. He is

:19:43. > :19:48.much more calm. He came unddr the NRL and struggled. As a leader you

:19:49. > :19:54.have got to be calm and know when not to blow a gasket and he does not

:19:55. > :20:00.do that often now. Is that ht for Bradford and they will go down? It

:20:01. > :20:03.will be difficult. I think ht will be tremendously difficult. H do not

:20:04. > :20:10.think they have got the squ`d to do it. The players looked jaded. It is

:20:11. > :20:14.With England and Australia both out With England and Australia both out

:20:15. > :20:20.of the World Cup, there are not many Sri Lanka players with an interest

:20:21. > :20:28.left in the football but ond exception is this player with a

:20:29. > :20:33.Brazilian mother. `` there `re not many players with an interest left

:20:34. > :20:37.in football. It comes from ly mum side. She is Brazilian and lived

:20:38. > :20:45.there for the best part of 40 years. She is like a little, it is a

:20:46. > :20:52.foundation in the middle of nowhere. And it is like north`east Brazil.

:20:53. > :20:58.And in the mid`70s she moved up for work and the people she was working

:20:59. > :21:02.for, she met a naval officer and there was a big shipbuilding

:21:03. > :21:05.heritage and they moved over to just outside this area and my dad did the

:21:06. > :21:13.smartest thing and got marrhed to her. It is always good when the

:21:14. > :21:17.World Cup is coming around. With the Brazilian heritage. My mum `lways

:21:18. > :21:22.goes a bit nuts. She does not watch too much sport when I'm on tour I'm

:21:23. > :21:29.used to that. And my little boy he plays with Everton as well. Is Rugby

:21:30. > :21:33.League well`known in Brazil? Not at all. I do not think, I tried to

:21:34. > :21:38.explain it and she thought ht was American football! I do not think

:21:39. > :21:41.they understand it very well. I think there is a little bit of a

:21:42. > :21:47.drive to get Rugby Union gohng out there. There is something going on

:21:48. > :21:52.in the Olympics, doing some enquiries, hopefully we will get a

:21:53. > :21:56.free holiday! Luckily enough they got back in touch. Fingers crossed

:21:57. > :21:58.something might come of it `nd it will be really good to reprdsent

:21:59. > :22:08.Brazil. My mum would be really proud. They are going wide. Going

:22:09. > :22:11.all the way will stop ``. It was on the back of a couple of tough

:22:12. > :22:16.defeats and some good results either side of that. It is a club that is

:22:17. > :22:27.really going places. When I have got the opportunity to come, thdy will

:22:28. > :22:34.be coming over. I had a bit of time away from the game last year. Coming

:22:35. > :22:37.back to 2010, I started picking up little niggles. They became quite

:22:38. > :22:43.big injuries. I wanted to ghve it one last go and see where I could

:22:44. > :22:47.go. And it held up pretty wdll and I am feeling pretty fresh. Having a

:22:48. > :22:52.bit of a breakaway from the game, I think about it, getting the hunger

:22:53. > :22:55.back for it. It is a big thhng. I have enjoyed my rugby again and I

:22:56. > :22:59.did not want to finish my c`reer on the back a frustrating injury. It is

:23:00. > :23:05.pretty full on now and I hope I have a couple of years left.

:23:06. > :23:07.You were chuckling away at his footballing prowess there.

:23:08. > :23:10.You did well to splice all those clips of him

:23:11. > :23:11.together doing individual kdep up, you know

:23:12. > :23:15.to get them all to look that seamlessly like he kept the ball up.

:23:16. > :23:17.That was really well done. I've played with him all my career.

:23:18. > :23:20.A fantastic pro and probablx one of the best blokes you'll

:23:21. > :23:23.I'm really pleased to see hhm doing really well

:23:24. > :23:26.and Craig Sandercock thinks really well of him at Hull KR.

:23:27. > :23:29.Jamie Jones`Buchannan and P`ul Aiton were back in the Leeds Rhinos

:23:30. > :23:34.how did your team mates get on in your absence?

:23:56. > :23:58.that in bucketloads and that's what we've been missing just recdntly.

:23:59. > :23:59.But you've got to give Widnes credit.

:24:00. > :24:01.They're playing their third game in eight days.

:24:27. > :24:28.A few tries from kicks and they competed hard.

:26:03. > :26:08.Following his shoulder dislocation, to come back...

:26:09. > :26:10.He's got genuine speed. Ben Jones`Bishop is no slouch.

:27:07. > :27:09.the Red Devils got off to a flyer, Jon, scoring after just 90 seconds.

:27:10. > :27:17.and they would have looked to build off that.

:27:18. > :27:24.I think the challenge for S`lford remains a defensive one.

:27:25. > :27:27.Playing against a team like Warrington who seem to have

:29:17. > :29:18.You can still have effort and commitment and cause

:29:19. > :29:20.and work towards a cause within any defensive structure

:29:21. > :29:23.and I think that's what Iestyn needs to install, those values.
