:00:37. > :00:42.league season is about to come to the boil. The Challenge Cup

:00:43. > :00:51.semifinals are just around the corner. Before that, Super League.

:00:52. > :01:02.Here is what is coming up. Widnes are in front in the race for eighth.

:01:03. > :01:06.Can they stay in front of Hull KR? Was it dancing with Wolves are a

:01:07. > :01:18.pain in the rain for Warrington in prepping an? `` in France? And Joel

:01:19. > :01:21.Tomkins is back in Leeds `` in league with the Wigan Warriors.

:01:22. > :01:23.With us in the studio, Jon Wilkin representing

:01:24. > :01:25.table`topping St Helens, and Richard Mathers from the play`off

:01:26. > :01:32.And we'll start with that race for the top eight play`off places.

:01:33. > :01:35.With just five games to go, Widnes were occupying that crucial

:01:36. > :01:39.eighth position in the table, but just a point clear of Hull KR,

:01:40. > :01:56.Brown with the cake. Picked up by Jack Owens. He will get the first

:01:57. > :02:07.points of the afternoon for the Widnes Vikings.

:02:08. > :02:19.Keating! He spends away to score. `` spins.

:02:20. > :02:30.A chance to break for Hull KR. What a vital tackle! It is not going to

:02:31. > :02:40.count. What an interception. He runs towards the corner. Chris

:02:41. > :02:59.Dean with the score for Widnes. Dave Allen going down the right. Joe

:03:00. > :03:06.Mellor is going to race away and extend the lead further from the

:03:07. > :03:20.Widnes Vikings. `` for the Widnes Vikings. Widnes on a roll. Can they

:03:21. > :03:26.keep it going? Owens plays it to Brown. It have to be. `` it had to

:03:27. > :04:15.be. Rhys Hanbury... He sidesteps

:04:16. > :04:21.another. What an effort! What a score from Rhys Hanbury! That will

:04:22. > :04:29.be the try that will win them the game. It has been an excellent

:04:30. > :04:35.afternoon for the Widnes Vikings. Another big win for Widnes. They

:04:36. > :04:41.have a 3`point buffer now? Without doubt. It was a big game for both

:04:42. > :04:44.sides. Widnes with that win will feel a lot more comfortable going

:04:45. > :04:49.into the final few games. It is certainly not over. Mathematically

:04:50. > :04:57.there are a lot of sides in the running. Salford and Wakefield. It

:04:58. > :05:02.is a tough loss for Hull KR. I quite fancied them to work get some

:05:03. > :05:08.momentum if they had won that game. `` to get some momentum. A great

:05:09. > :05:15.platform for the cup semifinals. Kevin Brown fit. Emphasising how

:05:16. > :05:25.important he is? He is massive. He has put his own stamp on that team.

:05:26. > :05:33.His variety of passing is massive. That is one of the things in a game

:05:34. > :05:39.plan against Widnes. It takes up 80% of your planning. A massive bonus

:05:40. > :05:43.for them. In terms of the race for the eight, is that it for Hull KR? I

:05:44. > :05:48.think so. Obviously they will dispute that. I personally think

:05:49. > :05:53.Widnes have been one of the great teams this year. Rhys Hanbury has

:05:54. > :05:59.been in great form. If you look at their squad, I think Denis Betts has

:06:00. > :06:03.done a great job. He has got them playing a nice style of rugby.

:06:04. > :06:08.Everybody has been talking about this semifinal being a huge cloud on

:06:09. > :06:11.the horizon for them and it will nearly put them off during Super

:06:12. > :06:22.League but it does not seem to have affected them. Josh Hodgson going to

:06:23. > :06:27.the Canberra Raiders. A great move? Yes, really exciting. One you could

:06:28. > :06:32.not turn down. He is only 24. He has been around a long time. He has been

:06:33. > :06:38.consistently good. A massive loss for Hull KR. A big player for them.

:06:39. > :06:40.Really exciting opportunity for him to play in Australia.

:06:41. > :06:42.Wakefield's remarkable win at Warrington last week put

:06:43. > :06:44.the Wildcats firmly back in the hunt for a play`off place.

:06:45. > :06:46.You were up against Huddersfield yesterday, Richard,

:06:47. > :06:55.and this one didn't go quite so well from the start, did it?

:06:56. > :07:04.Yes, there were ominous signs when the ball went out on the full. Joe

:07:05. > :07:10.Wardle crashed over and got them to a great start. We were on the back

:07:11. > :07:16.foot. We did not give ourselves a chance. When we have the ball we

:07:17. > :07:22.turned it over cheaply. Wakefield were too big and strong for us. Eorl

:07:23. > :07:28.Crabtree going over early. Shaun Lunt back on the side, his first

:07:29. > :07:35.appearance since May. We talked about Hodgson before in terms of how

:07:36. > :07:40.important hookers are. Shaun Lunt? He had a really big influence on the

:07:41. > :07:46.game. We will brush past the defending! He had a really good

:07:47. > :07:54.afternoon. He had a lot of injuries this season. It is a good time to

:07:55. > :08:03.get fit. Huddersfield, as we watch the procession for the Giants, they

:08:04. > :08:07.seem this season to be pace keeping rather than pace setting? I think

:08:08. > :08:13.they have been a bit scratchy all year. They have had to deal with

:08:14. > :08:26.that, being the champions and the table toppers last year. I thought

:08:27. > :08:32.Richie Moore was going to catch him. Huddersfield play well when their

:08:33. > :08:41.middle plays well. It is a good sign for them. For your boys, Ritchie, I

:08:42. > :08:49.thought the second half was good. You turned around really well? We

:08:50. > :08:55.did. We were 32 points behind. There is not what you can do at

:08:56. > :09:03.half`time. He was really positive. We competed in the second half. We

:09:04. > :09:15.got back in the game but it was too late. We needed to win all I games

:09:16. > :09:25.to give ourselves a chance. It is not inconceivable. We will dust

:09:26. > :09:28.ourselves down. The reality of it is we are running out of games. It is

:09:29. > :09:31.doable. Back to back defeats left Warrington

:09:32. > :09:34.outside the top four going The Wolves have been beaten

:09:35. > :09:37.by Widnes and Wakefield in recent weeks, and had the long

:09:38. > :09:40.trip to Perpignan on Friday night. Warrington Wolves looking to get

:09:41. > :09:56.the first points here And the penalty goes the way

:09:57. > :10:01.of Warrington. So this gives the Wolves

:10:02. > :10:04.a great opportunity, here. Ben Harrison.

:10:05. > :10:07.Stopped a couple of metres away. Michael Monaghan,

:10:08. > :10:11.he's got a lot to do here. The man who's been out

:10:12. > :10:21.for the last seven weeks, But he spun away and got that

:10:22. > :10:30.down and gives Warrington the lead. Warrington now,

:10:31. > :10:34.Richie Myler has dropped that one. Well, there has been poor weather

:10:35. > :10:36.in the South of France. The rain has been falling

:10:37. > :10:39.and it's caused quite a few errors. There is another one from

:10:40. > :10:44.Richie Myler. Catalan, in a great position here,

:10:45. > :10:48.with Whitehead. The pass goes to ground,

:10:49. > :10:51.it's picked up by Oldfield. And the Catalan Dragons making

:10:52. > :10:58.the most of the Warrington mistake. It may not look it, but I'm sure

:10:59. > :11:11.Laurent Frayssinous is a happy man. The vision, there,

:11:12. > :11:26.from Michael Monaghan, Jean Ormsby will put

:11:27. > :11:36.Warrington Wolves back in front Charged down by

:11:37. > :11:53.Warrington Wolves. Richie Myler,

:11:54. > :11:56.the man to stop that one. What can they do here,

:11:57. > :11:59.with Joel Monaghan? Monaghan,

:12:00. > :12:02.wrapped up by two Catalan players. But Joel Monaghan has stayed

:12:03. > :12:12.down for Warrington. Looking at the replay,

:12:13. > :12:14.to see what happened. A bit of a high hit from

:12:15. > :12:17.Gregory Mounis. That's the reason why Joel Monaghan

:12:18. > :12:21.stayed down. That's going to be a penalty

:12:22. > :12:24.for Warrington. Unusually,

:12:25. > :12:30.they are going for the kick here. And that has gone straight

:12:31. > :12:33.through the posts. They have been the conditions

:12:34. > :12:36.in the South of France, Tony Smith,

:12:37. > :12:40.not happy with the nature Pryce. The pass for Whitehead, who

:12:41. > :12:51.puts the grubber kick through. He's looking to get onto the end

:12:52. > :12:54.of that one himself. Well, the referee is going to

:12:55. > :13:00.handle this one upstairs. The decision here is

:13:01. > :13:02.whether or not Whitehead got there Very close decision,

:13:03. > :13:11.almost simultaneous, But who managed to get the hand

:13:12. > :13:20.and put it down first in goal? The decision has gone the way

:13:21. > :13:22.of a no try. Gareth O'Brien, superb defending,

:13:23. > :13:26.doing enough to touch that down Catalan, looking for a way back

:13:27. > :13:37.into this one. A big drive towards the post

:13:38. > :13:39.from Pelissier. But Mounis is going to have

:13:40. > :13:43.a go himself. And he does what Pelissier couldn't

:13:44. > :13:45.do, Well, the first battering ram

:13:46. > :13:54.of Pelissier didn't work. But the second one, of Mounis,

:13:55. > :13:59.certainly did. Here's Michael Monaghan,

:14:00. > :14:00.the architect Now Chris Bridge,

:14:01. > :14:05.with a grubber kick through. Well,

:14:06. > :14:09.he certainly dived onto that one. I think it's

:14:10. > :14:15.a similar situation to the Whitehead Did Rhys Evans get there first

:14:16. > :14:24.before the Catalan Dragons? It looks like he did,

:14:25. > :14:28.and it has been given. Rhys Evans, with a superb,

:14:29. > :14:34.Superman`like dive there. After the nice little kick

:14:35. > :14:36.from Chris Bridge, It's been tit`for`tat this evening,

:14:37. > :14:47.in terms of tries, as Catalan are Well, they certainly don't know when

:14:48. > :15:07.to give up, the Catalan Dragons. A kick from Warrington,

:15:08. > :15:20.comes off a Catalan man. It is picked up by Ratchford,

:15:21. > :15:22.Ratchford to Joel Monaghan. And Monaghan will go over

:15:23. > :15:29.for Warrington. Picking up on the loose ball,

:15:30. > :15:32.after the kick. It comes off the hand of

:15:33. > :15:35.Ian Henderson. And he fed

:15:36. > :15:44.in Joel Monaghan to score. A little grubber kick,

:15:45. > :15:51.heading towards the right corner. Michael Oldfield,

:15:52. > :15:56.with the hat`trick try. Once again, Richard Silverwood

:15:57. > :16:02.is sending this one upstairs. Will Michael Oldfield be given

:16:03. > :16:04.his hat`trick try? This is probably

:16:05. > :16:08.the better angle to tell. It looks

:16:09. > :16:13.like he's got that one down. And it does go the way of Michael

:16:14. > :16:16.Oldfield and the Catalan Dragons. And we're in for

:16:17. > :16:20.an exciting final few minutes here in the South of France because of

:16:21. > :16:27.this effort from Michael Oldfield. What can the Catalan Dragons do

:16:28. > :16:33.here with their final chance? The ball goes to ground

:16:34. > :16:36.from Whitehead's pass and that will Tony Smith's side, after

:16:37. > :16:56.back`to`back defeats, get back to Nice finish, very exciting finish

:16:57. > :16:58.after a couple of defeats for England. That was a very nicely

:16:59. > :17:07.timed to victory? Difficult place to go, and

:17:08. > :17:11.exceptional pre`match build`up to the game, it's probably the loudest

:17:12. > :17:15.atmosphere you go into as a player. When Michael Oldfield scored that

:17:16. > :17:18.try, you got to be thinking if Catalan Dragons have anything in the

:17:19. > :17:24.tank to win the game. The most pleasing aspect will be the win for

:17:25. > :17:29.Tony Smith, the last five minutes, to keep them out and win the game is

:17:30. > :17:36.a nice confidence boost. A guy you know from your time and

:17:37. > :17:38.Warrington, Michael Monaghan, he ran the show, they are going to miss him

:17:39. > :17:48.when he retires? He's been out for several weeks, to

:17:49. > :17:52.come in and give a performance like that, he is the heartbeat of the

:17:53. > :17:55.side. He creates so many opportunities for those around him.

:17:56. > :18:03.He's tough as a competitor comedy drives that signed along. He had a

:18:04. > :18:06.game on Saturday night. Some players contribute in terms of toughness,

:18:07. > :18:13.physicality or they bring something. What Monaghan, for me, brings, is

:18:14. > :18:21.smarts. He's a smart player around the rock. You have to be defensively

:18:22. > :18:30.great, his experience tends to get it right. Tony Smith, usually

:18:31. > :18:34.appreciative at the end. Your boys recently got walloped there. Why is

:18:35. > :18:39.it still is a tough place to go? I was just thinking, seven years since

:18:40. > :18:42.the Catalan side came in. You would think teams would work out the magic

:18:43. > :18:47.formula. I guess it is the travelling element, you know,

:18:48. > :18:51.different food, just all of those things rolled into one making it a

:18:52. > :18:55.challenging trip if you don't manage it well. Like John said, a hostile

:18:56. > :19:02.crowd, a really good side, to match that. It's a tough place to play.

:19:03. > :19:05.Catalan always play well at home. It's not so much the sides

:19:06. > :19:09.travelling there, I think the difference, the marked difference,

:19:10. > :19:18.is with Catalan Dragons, they always play well. Briefly, are they OK now,

:19:19. > :19:22.are they secure? I think so. I think those last two places are settled.

:19:23. > :19:25.Richard and the other guys are scrapping out there. Unless they go

:19:26. > :19:32.on a really bad run, I think seventh and eighth are nearly settled. Well,

:19:33. > :19:38.there's still quite a few weeks left. Warrington into the semifinals

:19:39. > :19:44.in winning form. Still to come, we'll see how everybody else got on

:19:45. > :19:47.in Round 23. Getting back in business, Wigan are

:19:48. > :19:54.looking to return to winning ways. They face Salford. We get the

:19:55. > :20:02.Tompkins take on life back in league after two years in the union. And

:20:03. > :20:16.it's Derby night at Headingley. Can relegated Bowls make it two in a row

:20:17. > :20:23.St Helens whereat Hull FC on Friday, playing for the Steve Prescott Cup,

:20:24. > :20:26.in memory of their former full`back. He represented both clubs with real

:20:27. > :20:30.distinction. He died last year, after a long and courageous battle

:20:31. > :20:35.against cancer. Another special night for a special bloke. You were

:20:36. > :20:41.a number of players that missed out for St Helens in this one. Your

:20:42. > :20:44.verdict on what you saw? You spoke about Catalan Dragons being

:20:45. > :20:53.difficult to play against, but Hull are notoriously difficult at the KC

:20:54. > :20:57.Stadium. One of the best finishers I played with, and not a bad one here,

:20:58. > :21:01.Richard Horne, coming off that big right foot.

:21:02. > :21:06.One of the issues we have had in tight games like this is that we

:21:07. > :21:12.struggled to defend the line at times. You've got to credit Hull. I

:21:13. > :21:16.thought when they created opportunities, they had any field

:21:17. > :21:21.position, they tuck the chances. There were certainly some elements

:21:22. > :21:26.of our defence, tries like that, so close to your line, that's your

:21:27. > :21:31.bread and butter. As the side that is top of the lead, we should be

:21:32. > :21:36.doing better. Luckily, you have a guy by the name of Paul Wellens. We

:21:37. > :21:42.waxed lyrical about Monaghan, he's set to retire, I don't think he's

:21:43. > :21:46.ready to retire? No, he sold as a conker tree, he just keeps going.

:21:47. > :21:56.He's doing exceptionally well. We've got great talkers and organisers.

:21:57. > :21:59.Really, it wasn't good enough performance. We put far too much

:22:00. > :22:04.ball down. As I mentioned, again, with this try here, close to your

:22:05. > :22:12.line you got to defend better than that. Then it becomes the Joe

:22:13. > :22:18.Westerman show. A penalty and drop goal to win it? He's one of the

:22:19. > :22:21.players that's been exceptional this season. He plays very similar to

:22:22. > :22:24.Sean O'Loughlin, and a lot of what they do goes through him. He's

:22:25. > :22:31.probably not renowned for this piece of skill, the drop goal. But his

:22:32. > :22:38.overall contribution for Hull is massive. Everybody who supports Hull

:22:39. > :22:43.knows what a huge contribution he's made. A quick word on St Helens

:22:44. > :22:48.injuries, you are struggling for half`backs? Yes, that's nothing

:22:49. > :22:51.new. Luke Walsh has been a huge signing for us and it's

:22:52. > :22:57.disappointing that he's out, myself, Johnny Lomax, we are all injured. In

:22:58. > :22:59.adversity, in a crisis, some people come through and take their

:23:00. > :23:04.opportunity. That is what you hope for. We are top of the league, lots

:23:05. > :23:11.to be optimistic about. We keep saying, up and down this year, top

:23:12. > :23:17.of the league every week? Everybody is. That is what makes it so

:23:18. > :23:20.watchable. Joel Tomkins has finally made an appearance forward in. He

:23:21. > :23:26.returned after a spell in rugby union. A back injury delayed his

:23:27. > :23:29.second debut until his game against Salford. The Wigan fans are hoping

:23:30. > :23:34.for more memorable moments like this one.

:23:35. > :23:41.Suddenly there is open space for Joel Tomkins! He pushes away one

:23:42. > :23:46.defender! Back to the middle... Sidesteps between two one of the

:23:47. > :23:50.great Wembley tries! In his first spell, he played an integral part in

:23:51. > :23:57.both Challenge Cup and Grand Final triumphs. In 2011, he crossed the

:23:58. > :24:02.great divide, and joined rugby union side Saracens, even going on to

:24:03. > :24:04.representing land and become a jewel code international. Now he's back in

:24:05. > :24:34.Super League, where he belongs. was a great challenge. I have been

:24:35. > :24:47.brought up on rugby league. It is in my blood. Whilst I was away I was a

:24:48. > :24:52.mass of Wigan fan. It was good to see the club do so well. I have

:24:53. > :24:57.watched every game that has been on TV and the last couple of years.

:24:58. > :25:01.Kept up`to`date with everything that has gone on. It was great to see

:25:02. > :25:05.them win the Challenge Cup and the Grand Final. There is obviously that

:25:06. > :25:10.bit in the back of your mind where you think you are missing out. In a

:25:11. > :25:16.way it was tough to watch. It is fantastic just to see the club going

:25:17. > :25:19.so well after a few tough years of the past decade. It is nice that the

:25:20. > :25:30.last few years have been successful. There are Wigan players in numbers.

:25:31. > :25:37.It is going to be touched down by Tomkins!

:25:38. > :25:41.He made his Wigan debut in 2005 as a 17`year`old. He played his last

:25:42. > :25:53.league Game six years later in the play`offs. Since his return, a back

:25:54. > :25:56.injury kept him out to start with. Absolutely huge differences. The

:25:57. > :26:01.only similarity is at the pitch and the ball. They are completely

:26:02. > :26:06.different games. I probably did not realise how different until I went

:26:07. > :26:09.over and played at. You have to understand both games to appreciate

:26:10. > :26:13.them. I am glad I went over no because I feel I have got a good

:26:14. > :26:18.understanding and appreciation codes. It is great to be back in

:26:19. > :26:22.rugby league. I. I hope by come back a better player. I have obviously

:26:23. > :26:29.learnt some skills. I hope I can transfer them to rugby league.

:26:30. > :26:35.Tomkins adds another Di mentioned to Shaun Wane's squad. A chance for a

:26:36. > :26:41.player and coach to have a long`awaited reunion. He has coached

:26:42. > :26:45.me since I was 13. That was my regret leaving the club, that I

:26:46. > :26:49.would not get it tends to play under him. It is great to have a chance to

:26:50. > :26:56.do that. This club is going to be successful. It has a good foundation

:26:57. > :27:01.and a good backbone. We are coming into good form. The young lads are

:27:02. > :27:07.playing well and the old heads are getting back to fitness. With a mix

:27:08. > :27:18.of the and the experienced lads, I think we are in a good place. ``

:27:19. > :27:24.with a mix of the young lads. This town on a Friday night, eight

:27:25. > :27:28.o'clock, everybody goes to the stadium to watch the club. It is

:27:29. > :27:34.nice to be back. I am looking forward to getting on the pitch.

:27:35. > :27:43.Joel Tomkins back in the Cherry and Whites of Wigan.

:27:44. > :27:46.The opposition for his return to the field were the

:27:47. > :27:47.play`off hunting Salford Red Devils, whose last win in Wigan was at

:27:48. > :27:57.Salford came up short against Leeds a week ago. They need a win here to

:27:58. > :28:05.improve their chances of finishing in the top eight and the play`offs.

:28:06. > :28:09.No Kevin Locke for Salford tonight. There is one big`name returning for

:28:10. > :28:17.Wigan. Joel Tomkins will make his second Wigan debut this evening. He

:28:18. > :28:23.starts the night on the bench. Their Wigan team looking for a win to keep

:28:24. > :28:31.the pressure on St Helens. `` this Wigan team.

:28:32. > :28:42.Wigan looking to press. An opportunity to put the pressure on.

:28:43. > :28:57.Matty Smith with the kick through. Bowen! Has he got there? Matty

:28:58. > :29:06.Bowen, did he touch down? It is short of the line. And a try is

:29:07. > :29:11.given. 13 minutes played. Wigan have their opening score. A threaded kick

:29:12. > :29:20.by Matty Smith and an intuitive chase by Matty Bowen.

:29:21. > :29:34.Wigan delivering with speed. Gelling with power to get through! Anthony

:29:35. > :29:37.Gelling, on behalf of our mark, Wigan just producing some daylight

:29:38. > :29:54.between themselves and Salford. Josh Charnley finds an angle. Two

:29:55. > :30:02.tries without Salford touching the ball here. Wigan with two very

:30:03. > :30:07.quickfire scorers which sets them up in a very comfortable position.

:30:08. > :30:08.Gelling with the quick hands, and Josh Charnley finding the path on

:30:09. > :30:25.the inside. Anthony Gelling! In amongst a tangle

:30:26. > :30:31.of bodies, he is claiming the score. He seems pretty confident. The video

:30:32. > :30:39.referee being called into action. That is why. The try is given. Just

:30:40. > :30:43.after the break, Wigan increase their lead. Anthony Gelling set off

:30:44. > :30:52.with one purpose in mind. And he achieved it. Joel Tomkins on the

:30:53. > :31:03.field. 55 minutes played. It is his second Wigan debut.

:31:04. > :31:20.Josh Griffin is claiming unlikely try here. Touch, grounding? Those

:31:21. > :31:24.are the questions. It is in a shade or two from the touchline. Josh

:31:25. > :31:30.Griffin will claim a real opportunistic try. The kick was

:31:31. > :31:39.cute, the finish was even more acute back row. `` more acute. Matty Smith

:31:40. > :31:45.going for the drop goal. That re`establishes a four score a lead

:31:46. > :31:56.in Wigan's favour. One point could make all the difference. Matty Bowen

:31:57. > :32:04.has got electrifying pace. And Anthony Gelling on his outsider

:32:05. > :32:10.scores his hat`trick try. Salford ripped apart down the middle. Smith

:32:11. > :32:13.and Boeing are developing a real understanding. Gelling with the

:32:14. > :32:30.simple finish. The referee says play`On. Here comes

:32:31. > :32:37.a charging run from Williams. He has slipped them all! They are left

:32:38. > :32:45.grasping thin air. Doesn't that delight the Wigan coaching team? He

:32:46. > :32:51.looked an unlikely scorer, Williams. He made the break simply because of

:32:52. > :33:02.the number of defenders around him. He has found a way through. Shaun

:33:03. > :33:07.Wane loves the moment. A chance for Salford to build some pressure.

:33:08. > :33:12.Re`establish some confidence. The handling is poor. It has gone to

:33:13. > :33:21.ground. It is Tony Clubb who kicks on and chases. The bounce of the

:33:22. > :33:27.ball is kind and he touches down! It is another unlikely scorer. Tony

:33:28. > :33:37.Clubb is not going to complain about the circumstances.

:33:38. > :33:50.Matty Smith with the dummy. And a weave and the try. Straight away it

:33:51. > :34:03.is going to the video referee. Obstruction. Salford defenders

:34:04. > :34:06.prevented from making a tackle because of the position of the Wigan

:34:07. > :34:11.players. Nothing wrong with the finish and nothing wrong with the

:34:12. > :34:22.score. Wigan back with a bounce after defeat last week. A huge win

:34:23. > :34:27.for Wigan. Were you surprised at how one`sided this was? Yes, I was. I

:34:28. > :34:32.was expecting it to be a physical, closing counter. Salford have come

:34:33. > :34:37.integrate form in the last couple of weeks. On the night Wigan were just

:34:38. > :34:52.too physical for them. We saw some great tries late on. That foundation

:34:53. > :34:54.was all about the middlemen. Very clinical try scorers. Anthony

:34:55. > :35:01.Gelling getting a run in the side and taking it? Yes, he is one of

:35:02. > :35:07.those guys who always seems to play well. When he gets his hands on the

:35:08. > :35:13.ball, you look at the size of him, he is always got to be a threat. A

:35:14. > :35:22.big part of Gelling playing well has been Boeing coming into form. ``

:35:23. > :35:26.Bowen. He is getting an opportunity at centre as well? We spoke about

:35:27. > :35:33.opportunities arising through injury. Gelling may have scored a

:35:34. > :35:38.hat`trick but Ritchie is right, the game was won and lost in the middle

:35:39. > :35:41.of the field. We have probably not seem so dominant performance in the

:35:42. > :35:52.middle of the field as we saw from Wigan. Salford recently resurgent.

:35:53. > :35:57.Where did this come from? The foundations, the bread and butter

:35:58. > :36:00.stuff, the stuff you have to do to win games. Winning the collisions

:36:01. > :36:10.and handling the big man. The nitty`gritty things. You get your

:36:11. > :36:14.energy to play in that space. They had really good form leading into

:36:15. > :36:16.the game but they got beaten up on the night.

:36:17. > :36:19.Leeds and Bradford have had some right old battles down the years.

:36:20. > :36:22.Friday night's meeting at Headingley didn't have quite as much riding on

:36:23. > :36:25.it as their Challenge Cup and Grand Final meetings of the past, but

:36:26. > :36:31.as we all know, when local pride is on the line, anything can happen.

:36:32. > :36:40.And it did on the night, Richie? Yes, it was the last derby in Super

:36:41. > :36:47.League. A great crowd. You have got to give all of the credits to

:36:48. > :36:49.Bradford. There was a lot of talk about Leeds resting players but

:36:50. > :37:00.Bradford turned up and played really well. There are a couple of tries

:37:01. > :37:12.that will go on the Christmas highlights reel of comedy. Here is a

:37:13. > :37:18.worrying injury for Ben Jones Bishop. We talk about Johnny Lomax

:37:19. > :37:25.being out. He has had an awful run as well. Yes, he has obviously

:37:26. > :37:31.landed awkwardly, twisted his knee. There will be some form of ligament

:37:32. > :37:37.damage. It is disappointing. He has had some bad luck and some unusual

:37:38. > :37:44.injuries as well. These are the comedy tries. You will enjoy these,

:37:45. > :37:53.Richie! There is another one after this. Good for Christmas viewing.

:37:54. > :38:04.Anything they can do, Leeds can do as well. At this time of the year

:38:05. > :38:09.when it gets wet, guys have got to get their heads around playing Grand

:38:10. > :38:13.Final football. It is usually wet. That is probably what caused a lot

:38:14. > :38:18.of guys out. We have seen a few guys slipping this weekend. Briscoe with

:38:19. > :38:25.the try here. I was impressed by Bradford. But given that try, Leeds

:38:26. > :38:30.could have Nick this? To yes, definitely. When you play any Leeds

:38:31. > :38:35.side, they can score from anywhere. This seals it. You can see how much

:38:36. > :38:41.it means to Bradford. They have been through some tough times in the last

:38:42. > :38:46.few years. You can see by the team spirit, it is a great win for them.

:38:47. > :38:54.The icing on the cake there. A very good win. Considering some of the

:38:55. > :38:58.things Bradford have gone through, the things that have been asked of

:38:59. > :39:03.them as a group of fans, some exceptional support. It is obviously

:39:04. > :39:09.a derby and it means so much. Since they have gone down, they have other

:39:10. > :39:15.couple of amazing results? Yes, they beat the Rhinos. They will be

:39:16. > :39:20.planning for next season and wanting to finish this season with a bang

:39:21. > :39:25.and get some momentum going into next season. Absolutely huge. Leeds

:39:26. > :39:30.losing but Castleford will head into the Challenge Cup semifinalists ``

:39:31. > :39:33.semifinals as the unbeaten side in Super League.

:39:34. > :39:35.They're unbeaten in their last six matches, including this ultimately,

:39:36. > :39:41.and perhaps predictably comfortable win over London on Sunday.

:39:42. > :39:48.You always felt the way Castleford were playing that they would be too

:39:49. > :39:55.strong. That proved to be the case. They are a great attacking side.

:39:56. > :39:58.Castleford are one of the most exciting teams to watch. Tries like

:39:59. > :40:08.this really highlight that. They can play from Annie were on the field.

:40:09. > :40:16.`` anywhere. You expect to see them attempt to score points. They got

:40:17. > :40:19.themselves back into the lead. They are having good spells but these

:40:20. > :40:24.spells are only lasting ten minutes. Physically they can match

:40:25. > :40:32.teams for short periods. But when you have genuinely got quality in

:40:33. > :40:39.your team... That was the first of a quickfire hat`trick. This is the

:40:40. > :40:48.second and third to follow. He is impossible to tackle. As a full`back

:40:49. > :40:52.there you are thinking, God help me. I have got to throw my body in

:40:53. > :40:59.front. You know you are going to come off second best because of his

:41:00. > :41:04.dimensions. This is when the floodgates opened. They capitalised

:41:05. > :41:11.on some tired defence from London. The variety of tries, they can score

:41:12. > :41:21.on the left side, they can score on the right side. We have seen tries

:41:22. > :41:25.of the kicking game. `` off. Another one for the big guy. It was a

:41:26. > :41:31.procession of tries. It was painful viewing. It was only 28`12 at

:41:32. > :41:36.half`time. What does a result like this do for a Castleford going into

:41:37. > :41:42.the semifinal? Probably not a lot, honestly. Widnes will have got more

:41:43. > :41:49.out of their game. It gives you an opportunity to work through some

:41:50. > :41:58.shape. They certainly scored points. One of the biggest factors for me is

:41:59. > :42:04.they brought Darrell Clarke to dummy half. He has been one of the

:42:05. > :42:14.standout players. I think he has been really key. Talk me through

:42:15. > :42:21.this. London kick off and Castleford score. Not much happening. They have

:42:22. > :42:26.no right to. Look at the support. If you pause that picture there, there

:42:27. > :42:32.are six Castleford players in the frame. It is anticipation. They are

:42:33. > :42:36.expecting to make breaks. As a side when you have got dangerous players

:42:37. > :42:37.in the team, you are expecting to make breaks. That is what they are

:42:38. > :42:45.doing in numbers. Let?s see where the Tigers

:42:46. > :42:48.and everyone else stand in the Don't forget live coverage

:42:49. > :43:07.of the Challenge Cup semi`finals on Saturday and Sunday,

:43:08. > :43:29.and we'll be back with the Super Predictions for the semifinals? I am

:43:30. > :43:35.going to go for a west Yorkshire final. I think Castleford and the

:43:36. > :43:39.Leeds Rhinos will win. The script is therefore the Leeds Rhinos to get

:43:40. > :43:46.there. And Castleford's fairy tale season will continue. Two appetising

:43:47. > :43:52.semifinals. What is your call? I agree with Richie. Leeds will be

:43:53. > :43:56.stronger with Gary Sinfield on the side. I would love to see Castleford

:43:57. > :44:01.in the Challenge Cup final. We will see if you are right. I will write

:44:02. > :44:05.that down and get back to you. That's it for this week. Live

:44:06. > :44:08.coverage of the Challenge Cup semifinals on Saturday and Sunday.

:44:09. > :44:09.We are back with you for the Super League showing a couple of weeks.

:44:10. > :44:22.See you then. Goodbye. I've never ever, ever done
