:00:36. > :00:38.Seconds out for some second helpings from Super League.
:00:39. > :00:41.It is part two of the Easter double-header and here
:00:42. > :01:38.Joining us in the studio is Eorl Crabtree and Richard Mathers.
:01:39. > :01:43.Is it a little bit strange watching on the sidelines
:01:44. > :01:48.You have been very good and come in on a Monday having been beaten
:01:49. > :01:52.Yeah, I think we have done all the live shows
:01:53. > :01:55.as well that time and, yet, very sorry and tired and I have
:01:56. > :01:58.three games today that I have either been to or watched
:01:59. > :02:07.Obviously Giants are doing pretty tough at the moment,
:02:08. > :02:09.so I don't miss that aspect as well, getting those rollickings off
:02:10. > :02:14.But for me at the moment, sitting pretty, it is a bit warmer
:02:15. > :02:18.when you have got your coat on in the stands, so I am a little
:02:19. > :02:21.Richard, Kevin Sinfield always used to say he loved Easter,
:02:22. > :02:24.because he didn't have to train, you just played, but now you don't
:02:25. > :02:28.have to put the spin on it, just how sore will the guys beat
:02:29. > :02:29.tomorrow morning after these two game?
:02:30. > :02:34.They will be sore, particularly after playing two game in four days.
:02:35. > :02:37.They have to back up again next weekend and that is when it really
:02:38. > :02:40.starts, so I am happy with my decision to retire and enjoy
:02:41. > :02:43.Easter and have a few Easter eggs, but the boys will certainly
:02:44. > :02:51.We were talking off air that we are not envious of them tomorrow.
:02:52. > :02:56.For the first time since 1993, St Helens went into a home game
:02:57. > :03:00.without the input of their former captain and coach Kieron Cunningham.
:03:01. > :03:03.His statue remains, but Jamahl Lolesi and Sean Long
:03:04. > :03:06.were again in charge for the visit of Castleford.
:03:07. > :03:12.There was nothing spectacular about Castleford's opening try.
:03:13. > :03:14.Paul McShane caused chaos, and somehow Greg Eden
:03:15. > :03:21.A Luke Gale conversion and penalty had given Castleford and 8-0 lead,
:03:22. > :03:25.but Saints hit back with three tries in ten minutes.
:03:26. > :03:28.The outstanding Mark Percival switching the attacker from left
:03:29. > :03:31.to right, centre Matthew Fleming finishing strongly in the corner.
:03:32. > :03:35.Two minutes later an unexpected hole opened up in the Castleford defence.
:03:36. > :03:42.And Scottish international prop Luke Douglas charged through.
:03:43. > :03:45.And Percival claimed a third in the 34th minute.
:03:46. > :03:50.Fages the architect with his perfectly weighted kick.
:03:51. > :03:54.Five minutes after the restart, Castleford began their fightback.
:03:55. > :03:56.Ben Roberts' step, pace and power embarrassing the St Helens defence.
:03:57. > :04:06.Then came the type of try that we have come to expect
:04:07. > :04:14.Nine different players involved in a mesmerising nine pass movement
:04:15. > :04:16.that ended with Greg Eden claiming his second
:04:17. > :04:20.Saints for a moment looked to be chasing shadows,
:04:21. > :04:24.as Castleford moved back to within two points of the home
:04:25. > :04:37.side and there were still 20 minutes left in the game.
:04:38. > :04:40.But the home side have a new hero in their ranks.
:04:41. > :04:42.20-year-old Eden Grace scored in a memorable debut against Wigan
:04:43. > :04:45.on Good Friday and he was in again for a try which coupled
:04:46. > :04:48.with Percival's conversion sealed the win.
:04:49. > :04:50.Castleford tried to turn up the heat in the late stages,
:04:51. > :04:54.but although this final attack bore all their expansive hallmarks it
:04:55. > :05:01.Ben Roberts in for his second, but not enough to prevent
:05:02. > :05:10.Probably hard for Kieron Cunningham to sit and watch that,
:05:11. > :05:12.but Saints looking better in the last two game
:05:13. > :05:26.The Saints have a new lease of life and it is a strange one when there
:05:27. > :05:29.It doesn't feel like it should be like that,
:05:30. > :05:32.but St Helens a bit more well structured in a strange way,
:05:33. > :05:34.they seemed more disciplined and they were throwing the ball
:05:35. > :05:38.The Castleford team, they are still good and they can
:05:39. > :05:40.score a lot of points, but St Helens actually made
:05:41. > :05:44.The structures that Castleford have, they didn't score off the back
:05:45. > :05:49.St Helens made them work really hard and that to me means
:05:50. > :05:51.they are working a little bit harder themselves.
:05:52. > :05:54.It is said to see Kieron go, but something has worked.
:05:55. > :05:57.Did the result surprise you or did you see that coming a little bit
:05:58. > :05:59.in the way that Castleford played against Wakefield?
:06:00. > :06:02.Yes, particularly in the second half against Wakefield.
:06:03. > :06:05.The first half they were red-hot, but I think they have carried
:06:06. > :06:08.a little bit of that form to this weekend against Saints.
:06:09. > :06:11.It was an evenly matched game, two great sides, but I thought
:06:12. > :06:13.Castleford's second half in particular against Wakefield
:06:14. > :06:16.was disjointed and not as fluid as they had been and I think that
:06:17. > :06:24.Young Regan Grace again came up with a key try,
:06:25. > :06:28.What is going to be the key now to managing him?
:06:29. > :06:32.He is actually 20 years of age, so he is not brand-new,
:06:33. > :06:35.he is not that young, he has actually got a tiny bit
:06:36. > :06:37.of experience, but with that obviously comes that 20-year-old
:06:38. > :06:41.That is a great try there, but he had to finish off probably
:06:42. > :06:44.an easy one for him, but he is so athletic, so good,
:06:45. > :06:49.Managing him, it is an interesting one, you don't know how it will go.
:06:50. > :06:52.It all depends on his temperament and also his performance as well.
:06:53. > :06:59.You picked out the Greg Eden try where they just moved the ball
:07:00. > :07:02.When they are in full flight, they are incredible
:07:03. > :07:07.They have got effectively four half-backs on the field
:07:08. > :07:11.in Luke Gale, Ben Roberts, Adam Milner and Paul McShane.
:07:12. > :07:15.They all play like half-backs and all had a hand in this try.
:07:16. > :07:21.Equally, in that, all the forwards can pass and the skills on show,
:07:22. > :07:25.And a bit like Eorl said, this try in particular was just pure
:07:26. > :07:30.magic and it was going to take something like that to break
:07:31. > :07:32.the St Helens defence down, because the Saints defence
:07:33. > :07:36.How do you think Darryl Powell will react to this result?
:07:37. > :07:42.The game probably reflects a bit of tiredness.
:07:43. > :07:52.Certainly some harsh words in review, because they are not
:07:53. > :07:54.hitting the standards that they have set themselves.
:07:55. > :07:57.They have set some pretty lofty standards, but there won't be any
:07:58. > :08:01.And for St Helens, a fantastic win for them, they looked good
:08:02. > :08:03.against Wigan in defeat, obviously played much
:08:04. > :08:10.Would you, if you were in management, suits on these days,
:08:11. > :08:12.would you sit back and see what Sean Long and
:08:13. > :08:17.They have got the experience and Jamahl has been around quite
:08:18. > :08:20.a while and been under some good coaches as well, so they have got
:08:21. > :08:23.the experience and will have their little spin on things as well,
:08:24. > :08:25.and being an assistant coach is a lot easier
:08:26. > :08:28.than being the head coach, because you gain that respect,
:08:29. > :08:30.you can be a bit more friendly with the players.
:08:31. > :08:33.For them, they have got to step up to another level.
:08:34. > :08:35.They have got to now put their message across and get
:08:36. > :08:38.them playing the way they want to play, but they both
:08:39. > :08:43.And that excites me as a spectator now.
:08:44. > :08:45.Well, these two were both at Warrington's game
:08:46. > :08:49.The two teams were in the bottom four going into this one
:08:50. > :08:55.Ball goes to ground, but it is picked up by Harvey Livett.
:08:56. > :09:04.Giants hoping to hit back with this attack.
:09:05. > :09:18.For McIntosh, and Darnell McIntosh is in at the corner.
:09:19. > :09:30.He has still got a lot of work to do.
:09:31. > :09:38.This is Leeming, the acting half-back.
:09:39. > :09:44.He has got Mamo coming to support him.
:09:45. > :10:05.Danny Brough with a pass to his left.
:10:06. > :10:07.Huddersfield not quite getting over that time.
:10:08. > :10:15.Two points on the offing here for Danny Brough.
:10:16. > :10:20.Puts Huddersfield four points in front.
:10:21. > :10:51.The Warrington fans probably think this one is over,
:10:52. > :10:54.but Huddersfield are going to say something about that.
:10:55. > :10:59.Sam Wood and Jermaine McGilvray scores.
:11:00. > :11:06.Danny Brough now, if he gets this kick, it levels the game.
:11:07. > :11:13.It is a third straight win for the Warrington Wolves.
:11:14. > :11:16.What is your overall view of the game?
:11:17. > :11:20.I think we are both agreed it was a pretty scrappy, dull game,
:11:21. > :11:24.but I think a little bit of excitement there with
:11:25. > :11:27.Danny Brough had the kick from the sideline to make it a draw,
:11:28. > :11:31.but overall it was a bit of a bitter game, it doesn't really get going,
:11:32. > :11:34.but two points both sides needed and Warrington just
:11:35. > :11:40.How tough for Huddersfield to lose a game like that?
:11:41. > :11:44.Yes, I think this is probably one of the better performances
:11:45. > :11:47.we have had as well, even though it was scrappy.
:11:48. > :11:49.I think we were very loose in the tackles as well,
:11:50. > :11:52.too many missed tackles, especially that Daryl Clark try,
:11:53. > :11:56.it is just not what we have done in the past, but for us in this game
:11:57. > :11:59.to go so close and yet so far yet again, it doesn't help
:12:00. > :12:02.the confidence levels, but I actually think we did improve.
:12:03. > :12:05.I think the game overall was not the standard that we would expect
:12:06. > :12:10.of our Super League teams, but they ground it out,
:12:11. > :12:13.both teams, and there were some good tries as well,
:12:14. > :12:16.some scrappy ones at the same time, but overall I think a bit
:12:17. > :12:21.of a disappointing game, especially for Huddersfield losing.
:12:22. > :12:26.What has been in the mood in the camp through the tough
:12:27. > :12:31.It is a question I have been asked a fair bit and externally everyone
:12:32. > :12:34.thinks there has been a lot of crisis meetings and all of these
:12:35. > :12:37.cliches, but there has been a quiet confidence within the group
:12:38. > :12:39.and you have got to batten down the attitudes.
:12:40. > :12:41.Tony has been really good at handling that.
:12:42. > :12:47.The players have been really honest and I think one loss and then two
:12:48. > :12:50.and then it compounds and you start to get into four, five, six losses,
:12:51. > :13:00.But I think it was just getting that first win, however pretty,
:13:01. > :13:03.just getting that two points and then backing it up.
:13:04. > :13:06.They seem to have turned the corner now with I think
:13:07. > :13:09.three wins on the bounce, four points out of Easter.
:13:10. > :13:12.I think it has been a crucial period in the season,
:13:13. > :13:14.but it was just getting that first win.
:13:15. > :13:15.Which Huddersfield would love to have.
:13:16. > :13:19.The players had a meeting the other day.
:13:20. > :13:22.Jermaine McGilvray has come out and said that they had a player's
:13:23. > :13:26.Have you sensed a difference from that, that the performance
:13:27. > :13:33.The fact that they have got together is a good thing and it is something
:13:34. > :13:36.that was mentioned with Hull FC, I think it was maybe last year
:13:37. > :13:39.It's not uncommon, for the players to actually get together
:13:40. > :13:42.and the leaders stand up and speak, because I do actually think
:13:43. > :13:45.we are lacking a few leaders in our team.
:13:46. > :13:47.We have got the players, sometimes it takes especially
:13:48. > :13:51.the younger lads to step up a little bit, and we have got the likes
:13:52. > :13:53.of Danny Brough who has had the captaincy taken away
:13:54. > :13:59.I think people need to put their hands up,
:14:00. > :14:01.look in the mirror as well and see their own performances
:14:02. > :14:04.and then sometimes it is a case of kicking the coach out
:14:05. > :14:07.to have a true word with yourselves, and you have got to challenge each
:14:08. > :14:10.other mentally and physically and I don't think we have done
:14:11. > :14:15.Hopefully from here on in, we will do.
:14:16. > :14:19.It wasn't good enough but it was a good start.
:14:20. > :14:21.And how key do you think having a proper full-back
:14:22. > :14:28.The try that he scored, he just seemed to come
:14:29. > :14:31.It is all right having a player that is electric,
:14:32. > :14:34.but you need to put him in the space to use that speed.
:14:35. > :14:37.We are throwing the ball around a little bit more as well.
:14:38. > :14:39.We actually looked a bit more threatening today.
:14:40. > :14:43.I like the fact that we are throwing the ball around, challenging
:14:44. > :14:46.the opposition and hopefully scoring a few more tries.
:14:47. > :14:48.Unfortunately Brough has kicked from the sideline,
:14:49. > :14:52.it didn't quite make it, but we were close today.
:14:53. > :14:55.Wigan of course are the defending Super League champions, but en
:14:56. > :14:59.route last year, they suffered they suffered a 62-0
:15:00. > :15:04.It is of course round ten this week, and once again the
:15:05. > :15:33.Those memories of last season fresh in the minds of both these sets of
:15:34. > :15:37.Wakefield hoping to repeat that feat, such a convincing win here
:15:38. > :15:40.against Wigan, and Wigan in a bit better shape this time around
:15:41. > :15:53.Had a good couple of seasons at Wakefield.
:15:54. > :15:57.That was before joining Wigan, and he has held up.
:15:58. > :16:08.Absolutely cracked into Anthony England there.
:16:09. > :16:14.He comes crashing through and he's got the
:16:15. > :16:22.And that is a great finish from Sean O'Loughlin.
:16:23. > :16:25.And Wigan's talisman makes those fans happy.
:16:26. > :16:40.Wood target the short side, Miller flat ball.
:16:41. > :16:46.Liam Finn steps inside one, send it away.
:16:47. > :16:48.That is away to that right-hand side with Gibson.
:16:49. > :17:00.Brother a fantastic response, and Jack Smith will go
:17:01. > :17:04.upstairs, and have we had the optimism popped by referee Jack
:17:05. > :17:10.As he gets the ball away to Gibson, he checks his run, and
:17:11. > :17:18.athletic goes through, well, for me, he's onside.
:17:19. > :17:22.And he got their head of S Garay, lovely little spin,
:17:23. > :17:27.pirouettes to the nine, and Wakefield have a try.
:17:28. > :17:44.What a signing he has been for the team.
:17:45. > :17:50.With these it away to his left-hand side, but he
:17:51. > :17:53.Wigan are offside, and that will be a Wakefield penalty.
:17:54. > :18:05.It was a smart move, targeting that Wigan right edge.
:18:06. > :18:07.A little bit of a fumble their, but they went back on
:18:08. > :18:12.the ten, and Jack's list called the play.
:18:13. > :18:36.He's going to be held up, and then tipped into a tackle.
:18:37. > :18:39.I think he knows what is coming here.
:18:40. > :18:44.It was the daftest of decisions really.
:18:45. > :18:47.The tackle had already been affected, the momentum checked, and
:18:48. > :18:52.And Jack Smith will dish out in the yellow card,
:18:53. > :18:56.and that is ten minutes in the bin for Anthony Gilling, and his side
:18:57. > :19:08.Can they take advantage of the extra man here?
:19:09. > :19:17.Peter comes across, try to put the tackle
:19:18. > :19:22.in second time round, and that would be a penalty.
:19:23. > :19:26.Great break by Davis, Johnson made the initial tackle.
:19:27. > :19:45.Just know how deadly years, that so key.
:19:46. > :19:51.He gets the ball away to SRA, and that is a brilliant try.
:19:52. > :19:58.He has got pace to burn, the Frenchman.
:19:59. > :20:05.Since rocking into Wigan from Catalan.
:20:06. > :20:21.He takes to the air, and Wakefield have the try.
:20:22. > :20:36.Escare, not had the best of games but Wigan
:20:37. > :20:53.Williams steps towards the line, back along
:20:54. > :21:04.A little dart from Powell, they get the ball down.
:21:05. > :21:13.I think he may well have been held up the, that is great defence.
:21:14. > :21:15.Did he get his body under the bowl their?
:21:16. > :21:19.He is the man making the challenge on Powell.
:21:20. > :21:21.And sure he has managed to keep that, he's got his
:21:22. > :21:24.arm under the ball, there is a lead in there as well.
:21:25. > :21:27.And that is the bravest of efforts from.
:21:28. > :21:45.Wakefield come forward again, they are pressing.
:21:46. > :21:51.He collided with the lighting rig and
:21:52. > :21:56.Miller looks to the sky as if in frustration.
:21:57. > :22:01.It is his past that looks forward, and you can see just
:22:02. > :22:18.Williams gives it a little flick over to that
:22:19. > :22:24.It is cruel on Wakefield and it is wicked for
:22:25. > :22:30.Marshall's ninth try of the season and Wigan come away with the
:22:31. > :22:36.Was that a fairly classic, two teams that are in an arm
:22:37. > :22:39.wrestle, but you did get that slight fatigue
:22:40. > :22:40.and that there wasn't the
:22:41. > :22:45.If you just look at the amount of strapping that the players where
:22:46. > :22:52.wearing in the game, it is a tough game, particularly Wigan,
:22:53. > :22:54.but Wigan historically, not just last year,
:22:55. > :23:00.I think they've knocked them off a couple of times when I've played
:23:01. > :23:03.there as well, so it was a tough old game, but Wigan will just
:23:04. > :23:08.Certainly an element of relief, a feeling for Chris Chester that it
:23:09. > :23:11.was the one that got away, that they had the chances.
:23:12. > :23:14., As I said before they are, it is one of those games
:23:15. > :23:17.that they know they can win, because in the past
:23:18. > :23:21.It gives them that bit of self belief, going into the game,
:23:22. > :23:23.that they can beat Wigan on their own ground,
:23:24. > :23:25.and unfortunately for them it didn't come off, and they
:23:26. > :23:29.There was a couple of jammy tries, almost
:23:30. > :23:33.intercepts, but it bounces off, ricochets off the player, goes into
:23:34. > :23:37.the corner and they go on to win the game.
:23:38. > :23:40.They will be happy to get through that one, because of the
:23:41. > :23:43.strapping and it is not coincidence, over the Easter period, playing that
:23:44. > :23:47.many close games, Wigan, the way they play, so tough, so physical,
:23:48. > :23:52.This was a bit of a missed opportunity
:23:53. > :23:55.Scott Grix, a player you both know well, not somebody who
:23:56. > :23:57.gets the headlines, but was he brought to
:23:58. > :24:02.From what I've heard, his level of professionalism has been
:24:03. > :24:08.He has notched that up and I think his experience,
:24:09. > :24:13.particularly from some attacking clips here, his all-round game
:24:14. > :24:17.and his experience and the defensive line as being a leader.
:24:18. > :24:26.Very professional, one of the fittest if not the fittest
:24:27. > :24:33.He can go down short sides, he can kick a dummy
:24:34. > :24:37.the dumbing -- big players are of the back.
:24:38. > :24:39.He looks like a different player because he doesn't look like
:24:40. > :24:43.he has been given an opportunity to play how he was to play.
:24:44. > :24:44.As a fallback, how impressed have you

:25:03. > :25:06.He has been in the Wigan system, it is

:25:58. > :26:00.Now it shortly we will see the latest meeting between
:26:01. > :26:03.Leeds and Widnes, but before that we will head back in time to a very
:26:04. > :26:18.windy Central Park when the two teams met in 1984.
:26:19. > :26:24.COMMENTATOR: Despite the gales, we still have a John player
:26:25. > :26:27.I'm afraid we only have one and a half goalpost
:26:28. > :26:30.A victim of the ferocious winds this morning.
:26:31. > :27:14.Leads and maybe in the lead by 14 points -
:27:15. > :27:18.ten, but it is still very delicately balanced.
:27:19. > :27:22.There is a high tackle from Kieran O'Loughlin.
:27:23. > :27:25.And I don't think there was anything wrong with
:27:26. > :28:09.That brings them that coveted John player special trophy.
:28:10. > :28:10.Times have changed a bit, haven't they?
:28:11. > :28:14.Back to the present day and the 2017 version of lead against Widnes,
:28:15. > :28:18.you know the Rhinos well, how do you think they are going to get on?
:28:19. > :28:21.I think they have really turned a corner.
:28:22. > :28:26.Everybody keeps talking about them just having found a combination
:28:27. > :28:35.Yeah, it's not often you see this one come
:28:36. > :28:39.ball bounce or come off of the crossbar, but I think the
:28:40. > :28:42.combination of passing has been going really
:28:43. > :28:44.well, the shift in the
:28:45. > :28:50.half-backs has really revolutionised Leeds's attack and we see how
:28:51. > :28:56.He has really boosted the Rhinos attack.
:28:57. > :28:58.Has he given them a bit more freedom, do you feel?
:28:59. > :29:03.It has allowed Danny McGuire to sit back and be the organiser, and guide
:29:04. > :29:07.the side around, but also enable Karen Watkins to get to the ball,
:29:08. > :29:13.and for them to be in sensational form.
:29:14. > :29:16.It is tough -- tough time for Widnes, isn't it?
:29:17. > :29:21.They've given themselves a chance of winning it,
:29:22. > :29:25.but again, great support on the inside, they just
:29:26. > :29:32.You know, throw the ball at the back, there is somebody there,
:29:33. > :29:40.This typifies what Widnes are doing at the moment.
:29:41. > :29:49.The body language by winners as well, a little bit disappointing.
:29:50. > :29:52.They do give themselves a chance though.
:29:53. > :29:55.How much will Dennis take from this comeback in the second half?
:29:56. > :29:58.I think you have got to take the positives and try and knock out
:29:59. > :30:01.these negatives, because they have got some ability and they do play
:30:02. > :30:04.well and they work hard at the right times.
:30:05. > :30:07.That looked a little bit of a dodgy final pass, but you take what
:30:08. > :30:14.Overall I think they will be a bit disappointed because a little
:30:15. > :30:16.bit like ourselves they have got to do something
:30:17. > :30:21.That is great skill to get over the line there and work that second
:30:22. > :30:25.Do you think them coming as close has woken Leeds up again?
:30:26. > :30:30.I think they are scoring again and Callum Watkins, I don't
:30:31. > :30:33.think there is a centre in the world playing as well as he is.
:30:34. > :30:41.Parcell seems to have fitted in really well, hasn't
:30:42. > :30:52.No team came out the Easter weekend in better shape than
:30:53. > :30:55.Their Good Friday win against Leigh was their
:30:56. > :30:58.fifth on the bounce and they took that form to Catalan on Easter
:30:59. > :31:22.Big numbers following them here tonight knowing that a victory
:31:23. > :31:24.could take them joint top of the Super
:31:25. > :31:27.They are being tested here, the Salford defence.
:31:28. > :31:32.Looking to create those numbers wide, the
:31:33. > :31:54.A smash and grab raid by Vincent Duport.
:31:55. > :32:03.Bouncing in and twisting away and thinking about the
:32:04. > :32:08.offload, but he has to go down with ball in hand.
:32:09. > :32:24.But Carney is too close to the touchline.
:32:25. > :32:29.A little bit of space there for him to
:32:30. > :32:40.Runs into trouble a little, but he has
:32:41. > :32:46.And Anderson will squeeze his way over.
:32:47. > :33:02.It is Vincent Duport who gets a hand on.
:33:03. > :33:18.The referee on the field has given the try, so the
:33:19. > :33:34.What a real chance here for Catalan to build on what they
:33:35. > :33:47.He had every right to get up there and
:33:48. > :33:51.The referee said he was tampered with.
:33:52. > :33:56.Luke Walsh kicking towards the swimming pool end of the ground.
:33:57. > :33:59.He has put it over and Catalan extend their lead.
:34:00. > :34:27.And it is taken in midair by Krisnan Inu.
:34:28. > :34:43.The leap gave him the advantage. They are looking for the onside
:34:44. > :34:49.here. It is tight. His leap is prodigious and nothing wrong with
:34:50. > :34:58.what came next. The onside is OK. Catalan have a try. It is OK. It is
:34:59. > :35:09.another for the French side. The kick from Myler waited superbly and
:35:10. > :35:15.look at the leap. Waltz to his left. Myler is looking for the inside
:35:16. > :35:27.ball. Salford have it covered. It is a dominant performance. Another
:35:28. > :35:31.testing kick from Walsh this time. But it is taken superbly by Carney
:35:32. > :35:36.and he is on his travels, just in Carney. Can he go the distance? You
:35:37. > :35:43.bet he can go the distance! What a terrific pride that those from just
:35:44. > :35:51.in Carney! Had to do the defence of work in the first place. The kick
:35:52. > :35:59.from Walsh, almost back on his online when it comes down. He can
:36:00. > :36:06.claim this as a 100 yard. They were in hot prosciutto but not for long.
:36:07. > :36:20.-- pursuit. Carney with a memorable moment.
:36:21. > :36:31.Three tackles to go in this set for Catalan. They are kicking early from
:36:32. > :36:37.Walsh. Attacking kick. The bounce takes it away from O'Brien! And
:36:38. > :36:42.Myler is there, poacher in chief he celebrates his newborn baby with a
:36:43. > :36:53.try. The sun is shining for Catalan now. An early kick. A shock play, a
:36:54. > :37:03.shocking bounce from Salford's point of view and Myler isn't. -- is in. A
:37:04. > :37:14.hop skip and a jump with the willing Catalan defenders. Stepping on the
:37:15. > :37:25.inside here, Robert Louis. He has got support as well. He has given it
:37:26. > :37:32.away. He is away! Breathtaking! Eye-catching! And a role to
:37:33. > :37:42.celebrate at the end. It is proving to be very day. They are having a
:37:43. > :37:48.party. And here is the gift. Gigot with the interception. Wonderful
:37:49. > :37:57.sidestep. And then the rest is all smiles and celebrations. No need for
:37:58. > :38:12.a translation. It has been try, try and try again for couple on today.
:38:13. > :38:28.No doubt were the points are going. It is going to be a one point here.
:38:29. > :38:39.Walsh adds the extra. One point. Almost certainly guaranteeing the
:38:40. > :38:46.two points. The Salford defence trying to push forward. He is being
:38:47. > :38:57.urged to run here. Cul-de-sac. Down he goes. They'd head by Gryphon.
:38:58. > :39:03.Walsh is going for another one! He is in the drop goal mood. Two to his
:39:04. > :39:16.name now. Catalan edging closer to glory. They have enjoyed seeing
:39:17. > :39:19.their team back home again. Walsh, for a moment thought he might be
:39:20. > :39:32.going for a hat-trick of drop goals. That is a good push. Penalty.
:39:33. > :39:41.Salford involved far too long trying to slow down the urge and search.
:39:42. > :39:47.Five tackles to have a real go on this Salford line. They only need
:39:48. > :39:55.the one. With the kick to the corner. He will claim a hat-trick on
:39:56. > :40:05.what has been a memorable day for him and his side. Catalan looking
:40:06. > :40:14.the real deal. How short a straw is a soup get Catalan and with them
:40:15. > :40:19.having had rest? It is awful having the trip in general but on the Bank
:40:20. > :40:26.Holiday Easter Monday that is a shocker. Especially with a couple of
:40:27. > :40:30.days before, if you are already shot to pieces it is always tough to go
:40:31. > :40:35.there. Catalan are fantastic and they looked like a different side,
:40:36. > :40:38.confident and strong and they would just pushing the tackles and it
:40:39. > :40:44.looked like a block in the park. I think it was a step too far for
:40:45. > :40:47.Salford. A real confidence shift for Catalan. Ten days ago they looked
:40:48. > :40:56.shocked. Three wins in the bounce will stop how important for them to
:40:57. > :41:01.win at home? Massively. The manner of them was pretty comprehensive.
:41:02. > :41:10.Some of their tries, high-quality skill. Winning at home is massive.
:41:11. > :41:18.You feel sorry for the Salford boys, they looked shattered. Ritchie has
:41:19. > :41:25.had a busy time. Being a dad for the second time. What do you make of him
:41:26. > :41:29.for Catalan this season? I think he has been instrumental. Particularly
:41:30. > :41:34.in the last couple of weeks, on fire today. Had a hand in a number of
:41:35. > :41:41.tries. This is what he does on form. His pace. He looked like he was
:41:42. > :41:47.enjoying himself. I think they have got a Brit of freedom to play. This
:41:48. > :41:52.is great linkup play. He chases hard. He shouldn't be getting near
:41:53. > :41:58.this anti-gets a bit of a bounce. Celebration as well. A fitting end
:41:59. > :42:13.to his game and getting that try for the baby. We talked a lot about
:42:14. > :42:19.people missing. How much was dated was it for them to get the win? It
:42:20. > :42:23.was tough. It is great with the confidence that they can come out
:42:24. > :42:30.and put in a performance without their leader. Salford have Toronto
:42:31. > :42:34.who will be gunning for them in the Challenge Cup, how tricky will it be
:42:35. > :42:39.on the back of that? It will be because you can't take them for
:42:40. > :42:43.granted. They are a good side. They have got a bit of attitude because
:42:44. > :42:47.they want to show everybody how good they are and I think they are
:42:48. > :42:52.fantastic for the sport and Salford can't take them lightly. It will be
:42:53. > :43:02.big for both sides. That's round up the Bank Holiday with a trip to
:43:03. > :43:10.Leigh where whole city where. They needed a big response. I think
:43:11. > :43:17.they've altered a bit. Hull needed to bounce back. The first try going
:43:18. > :43:26.over. They looked big and powerful. This is? For Leigh because they are
:43:27. > :43:30.used to winning and now it is about the mental attitude after losing a
:43:31. > :43:32.couple of games. The toughness of Super League. Great skill and
:43:33. > :43:41.strength to dive over on the left-hand side. Player Albert Kelly
:43:42. > :43:48.is absolutely fantastic this year. A shoo-in for one of the possibilities
:43:49. > :43:57.this year. That pick-up is sensational. 18-0 up for Hull at
:43:58. > :44:03.half-time. The game was pretty much over. Breaking through here. This
:44:04. > :44:09.little pass. It was a stroll in the park. Have you been surprised that
:44:10. > :44:20.Hull have wobbled? Yes, and the manner. Over 100 points. Rock solid
:44:21. > :44:25.defence. Attacking flair but a solid defence. The big focus but the
:44:26. > :44:32.players this afternoon would have been the defence and scoring some
:44:33. > :44:38.nice tries on the back of that. Leigh came back but it looked pretty
:44:39. > :44:42.comfortable for Hull FC. Five defeats in a row for Leigh, they
:44:43. > :44:51.have got Hull KR in the Challenge Cup. It was a good opportunity.
:44:52. > :44:58.Leigh have got the quality and personnel. We have seen them win
:44:59. > :45:03.games and they can do it but backing it up each week is tough. You have
:45:04. > :45:08.to get through that and start winning games again and try to build
:45:09. > :45:10.the confidence and momentum. So while the players and pundits head
:45:11. > :45:16.for the recovery sessions its check on the standings in the Super League
:45:17. > :45:21.table. Leeds are level on points with Castleford at the top although
:45:22. > :45:25.the Rhinos have played a game more. Catalan up to six and Warrington
:45:26. > :45:31.moved above Leigh internet. Four matches this week featuring the top
:45:32. > :45:37.eight from last year. Champions Wigan Warriors take on Catalan. Home
:45:38. > :45:49.game for Widnes and Warrington. Challenge Cup action as well. You
:45:50. > :45:52.have talked about how difficult Easter is and coaches always juggle
:45:53. > :45:54.with it, but they are already planning for the double weekend
:45:55. > :46:01.again in just over a month? Certainly. I think Easter is a
:46:02. > :46:05.tradition. We know what we are getting. The next Easter in May
:46:06. > :46:13.quite frankly is a joke. No reason for it. I think the planning has
:46:14. > :46:20.been making the congested fixture list worse and the players have to
:46:21. > :46:25.go through it again. For the top players some have to go down under,
:46:26. > :46:28.then the Challenge Cup, then Magic Weekend, double weekend, when would
:46:29. > :46:33.you say the players settled down after Easter and when will it hit
:46:34. > :46:36.into the congestion period? They already try to recover as quickly as
:46:37. > :46:44.possible and they agree with Richard, what we are trying to do is
:46:45. > :46:47.fit in more and it is now having effectively two Easter periods. What
:46:48. > :46:52.worries me is the players but also the quality of the game if we wanted
:46:53. > :46:57.to get better, you can't just keep an fitting Morand war games because
:46:58. > :47:03.there are more injuries -- more and more difference. That is not a good
:47:04. > :47:09.advertising for Super League. It seems ridiculous but we seem to be
:47:10. > :47:14.trying to fit Morand war games and I don't think it is right. If it takes
:47:15. > :47:18.players a couple of weeks to record from Easter when do think we settled
:47:19. > :47:27.down back after May? Well into June but that is a crucial period. The
:47:28. > :47:34.scrambling for position is a crucial part of the season. In terms of
:47:35. > :47:41.injuries potentially picked up it could make it even tougher in that
:47:42. > :47:50.period at the end of June. You still made the right decision to retire?
:47:51. > :47:57.Two Easter periods, definitely. That is it. Thanks for joining us. We
:47:58. > :48:07.will see you next week. Until then enjoy your Easter eggs. Goodbye.
