:00:37. > :00:40.We have a programme of two parts made up from action of both of
:00:41. > :00:44.Four top-flight teams have set off on the Challenge Cup leaving eight
:00:45. > :00:48.teams and four fixtures in the Super League.
:00:49. > :01:27.Joining us in the studio, Gareth Ellis from Hull
:01:28. > :01:29.and Danny Hammond will give us their verdict on Super League
:01:30. > :01:35.Gareth and Hull FC were up against the Super League leaders
:01:36. > :01:48.He is on red alert as he skirts the line.
:01:49. > :01:55.Scott Taylor, great forward, big power, that is an early try.
:01:56. > :02:03.Shaul to Connor, great hands, into the corner.
:02:04. > :02:10.Sneyd, Castleford know what is coming.
:02:11. > :02:19.Tap back into the hands of Fonua and that is a simple finish.
:02:20. > :02:30.And that was late from Liam Watts and in come the Castleford defence.
:02:31. > :02:33.And there is a bit of pushing and shoving and Liam Watts,
:02:34. > :02:44.Throws his wrist straps away in frustration.
:02:45. > :03:09.Continues forward, almost up to the line.
:03:10. > :03:20.Minichiello offers the ball away to Kelly.
:03:21. > :03:23.Try and help them out on the right-hand side.
:03:24. > :03:32.That might have been a high shot there from Paul McShane.
:03:33. > :03:35.Marc Sneyd, coming a long way out, but he has absolutely hammered it.
:03:36. > :03:51.All a bit flat at the line at the moment as Ben Roberts takes
:03:52. > :03:54.the ball away to the right-hand side and manages to break through.
:03:55. > :03:57.He has got Webster up in support, shovels the ball away to him.
:03:58. > :04:02.Michael Shenton on the cusp of the hooter, gets the ball down.
:04:03. > :04:28.Marc Sneyd, from the tee, clips it through coolly.
:04:29. > :04:30.Here come Castleford again with Roberts.
:04:31. > :04:39.Sneyd, bit of a loose pass to Kelly who hung one up.
:04:40. > :04:43.A real skyscraping bomb, it will be caught on the left-hand side.
:04:44. > :04:57.Continuing to raid the line, here goes Minikin.
:04:58. > :05:06.So how are you feeling after that one?
:05:07. > :05:08.A bit battered and bruised, as you would expect,
:05:09. > :05:10.after three games in eight days, but like I said before,
:05:11. > :05:16.But when you get a man going off after 20 minutes,
:05:17. > :05:24.At that point, it is the best we have played all year.
:05:25. > :05:27.We were 18-0 up, we got the ball, scored some really good tries,
:05:28. > :05:30.all the things that you work on in training were coming off
:05:31. > :05:33.for us, and we are busy, what happened around the 20 minute
:05:34. > :05:35.mark, really threw a spanner in the works for us.
:05:36. > :05:38.Were you surprised at the red card or from what you are seeing,
:05:39. > :05:40.could you understand why it was given?
:05:41. > :05:46.I don't think there was any intent there.
:05:47. > :05:48.I think the circumstances of the tackle, the way
:05:49. > :05:52.he was dragged down, he caught him in the face.
:05:53. > :05:55.I thought originally he was going to give a yellow card,
:05:56. > :05:57.but the red card came out, for ten minutes there,
:05:58. > :06:00.we were in panic mode a little bit, but half-time could not
:06:01. > :06:06.We sort of regrouped at half-time and the spirit the lads
:06:07. > :06:08.showed in the second half was absolutely unbelievable.
:06:09. > :06:11.And although you would not wish to go through that with 12 men,
:06:12. > :06:13.particularly after Easter, what can getting a win like that
:06:14. > :06:17.in those circumstances do for the rest of the season?
:06:18. > :06:20.We spoke at half-time about this possibly being a defining
:06:21. > :06:28.So often last year we got ourselves out of trouble by being resilient
:06:29. > :06:31.and defending in that manner in which we did yesterday.
:06:32. > :06:34.So hopefully the penny might have dropped and hopefully we will be
:06:35. > :06:36.able to put in a few more performances like that,
:06:37. > :06:39.hopefully not as tiring, but it would be nice to think
:06:40. > :06:43.that this could be a bit of a kick-start for our season.
:06:44. > :06:46.Danny, from Castleford's point of view, they are at the top,
:06:47. > :06:49.they have shown some incredible form, but do they need to show
:06:50. > :06:52.composure in times like that, if they are going to go on and win
:06:53. > :06:58.I think it is often hard when you're up against a team with 12 as well,
:06:59. > :07:01.because I think if you are playing and you're in the team with 12
:07:02. > :07:07.you often get that little bit extra out of yourself.
:07:08. > :07:10.It is going to be a bit more difficult, you've got
:07:11. > :07:12.to turn up in places which you sometimes would not.
:07:13. > :07:15.As for Castleford, they're not going to be at their best every week,
:07:16. > :07:18.they started the season on fire, they had a couple of defeats now,
:07:19. > :07:21.but I am sure the coach will be getting a reaction out
:07:22. > :07:25.They will be looking to get back to winning ways,
:07:26. > :07:27.but the competition is so even at the moment.
:07:28. > :07:29.If you're off your game even 10%, you will come
:07:30. > :07:33.So, they will be getting back on to the performances,
:07:34. > :07:36.I guess, for you guys, it has been a funny old season.
:07:37. > :07:39.You started quietly and looked fine and now you have that dip,
:07:40. > :07:42.how would you sum up how you are and yet you're
:07:43. > :07:45.still within striking distance of the top?
:07:46. > :07:52.We don't feel that we have played well, not for 80 minutes anyway,
:07:53. > :07:55.and we were picking up wins, early doors, which was really
:07:56. > :07:58.important, it is always great to be picking up the two points,
:07:59. > :08:00.in sloppy conditions early on in the season and then
:08:01. > :08:02.obviously getting hammered, over Easter, by 50 points
:08:03. > :08:11.I had to react from that and then we got the win against Leigh,
:08:12. > :08:14.and then the win against the table toppers in Castleford and I said
:08:15. > :08:18.before, hopefully this can be the kick-start for our season.
:08:19. > :08:21.Now, you'll remember that Warrington started the season
:08:22. > :08:24.with six straight defeats, but that turned around over Easter
:08:25. > :08:26.and four games unbeaten meant they were the form team
:08:27. > :08:33.The Wolves took on Wakefield and Dave Woods was watching.
:08:34. > :08:36.England climbs to his feet, Kyle Wood, Wakefield going down
:08:37. > :08:48.Finn with a pass, which has gone to ground, but Jowitt just
:08:49. > :08:50.about snapping it up, keeping it under control.
:08:51. > :08:52.Finn's kick deflected and into the path of Wood,
:08:53. > :08:55.trying to get away from Hughes, gets a kick in and it will be
:08:56. > :09:07.Wakefield have stunned in the HJ Stadium.
:09:08. > :09:12.Moving forward with purpose again here.
:09:13. > :09:16.Wakefield are enjoying their time in the sunshine at the moment.
:09:17. > :09:19.Wood, quickly there at dummy half again, lovely little inside ball,
:09:20. > :09:21.Jacob Miller is streaking through and he has support and
:09:22. > :09:49.Warrington looking for a purpose, Ratchford gets it away.
:09:50. > :10:18.What a fabulous individual try that is from Ryan Atkins. Pace and power.
:10:19. > :10:24.And a touchdown to boot. Getting to his feet. Then, another of those
:10:25. > :10:28.tantalising little cakes which he is so good at. Brown will take it, in
:10:29. > :10:42.an offside position, the referee decides. He was caught initially by
:10:43. > :10:46.hard they live it. -- Livett. This would put Warrington to score is
:10:47. > :10:55.behind. Lee then right in between the uprights and Wakefield are
:10:56. > :11:04.travelling well. Pounded forward again. Lovely little flicked offload
:11:05. > :11:12.as they try and keep it alive here. And eventually shouting held. Would
:11:13. > :11:17.spill a bit away. Finn offering it again. Johnston, he will not miss
:11:18. > :11:25.from there. Lovely ball over the top, Johnston is over. Wakefield
:11:26. > :11:33.smiles get broader. Brown, just on the left-hand side. Trying to create
:11:34. > :11:40.some numbers. Brian act gives, a lovely little flecked by him.
:11:41. > :11:44.Ratchford, still has it alive. Taken in eventually and Philbin will be
:11:45. > :11:51.put down, but within sight of the Wakefield line. Here is Gidley.
:11:52. > :11:56.Hammered forward by him. Four defenders around him. I think he
:11:57. > :12:00.might be over, yes years. The referee says that Chris Hill has
:12:01. > :12:07.somehow got that down. What an effort that was. Here is the
:12:08. > :12:14.confirmation of that wonderful try by Chris Hills. Dwyer will take the
:12:15. > :12:21.tap. Chris Hill looking for that pathway to the try line again. Held
:12:22. > :12:26.up just short. Here is to wire, spins it right, little dummies shown
:12:27. > :12:35.by Kevin Brown and they are back within touching distance now. Kevin
:12:36. > :12:41.Brownback and a try scorer. The time is ticking away. Wakefield desperate
:12:42. > :12:46.to hang on, but Warrington will throw everything at their opponents
:12:47. > :12:52.to keep this winning run going. Evans is put down. Shuffle back
:12:53. > :13:00.towards the middle again. Here it comes. Wide. Ratchford's ball over
:13:01. > :13:09.the top. That might be a matchwinner. The late, late try has
:13:10. > :13:17.yet to be given, though. He thinks it is a try, the referee, but it
:13:18. > :13:26.needs a second look. This will make the difference, his feet are clearly
:13:27. > :13:32.enclave. The touchdown is good and Warrington look as though they have
:13:33. > :13:39.snatched it, right at the end. It is another way as they continue to
:13:40. > :13:45.climb the table. You were shaking your head as the final pass went
:13:46. > :13:48.over to Lineham. It is still quite painful watching it. We have done it
:13:49. > :13:53.a few times, put ourselves in positions where we should be winning
:13:54. > :13:56.the game and we have probably tried to see games out to match rather
:13:57. > :14:04.than carry on playing the way we have been. Great bit of skill by
:14:05. > :14:12.Ratchford with the pass. We felt they should never really have been
:14:13. > :14:19.there, but disappointing after good performances at Easter but no
:14:20. > :14:22.points, it is disappointing for us. When Lee Ratchford was talking about
:14:23. > :14:28.you retreating into your shell, is that a similar thing, do you feel
:14:29. > :14:31.that you're backing off? We have been guilty of that. They start
:14:32. > :14:36.trying not to lose the game rather than doing the things that got you
:14:37. > :14:40.into a commanding position to start with and ultimately, playing against
:14:41. > :14:46.good teams, they will have a good crack at you and do things they
:14:47. > :14:47.probably would not have done if the game was tighter. The double the
:14:48. > :14:52.close game like that. Young Tom Johnson just seems
:14:53. > :14:54.to get better and better by the week, what does he bring
:14:55. > :14:57.into the team these days? He's just such an athlete,
:14:58. > :15:00.so he will jump higher than most people, he's faster than most people
:15:01. > :15:03.and he has got a lot braver over the last couple of seasons as well,
:15:04. > :15:06.you can see that in his yardage, he challenges people, his footwork,
:15:07. > :15:09.he's a big kid as well, you can see that in his
:15:10. > :15:11.defence there, he's getting in front of people
:15:12. > :15:14.and holding them up and he has earned us quite a few
:15:15. > :15:16.turnovers like that. And then his finishing speaks
:15:17. > :15:19.for itself and he's got great As have both of our
:15:20. > :15:26.wingers to be fair. We know when we had John Kieran
:15:27. > :15:30.and you had lost a couple and then you won 1, he said the boys needed
:15:31. > :15:38.that because when you're losing
:15:39. > :15:41.closely it's hard to take, are you keeping the spirit up
:15:42. > :15:43.because you know the The feeling in the camp
:15:44. > :15:52.is really good. Last season we had a lot of blow
:15:53. > :15:57.out defeats where teams a lot of points on us,
:15:58. > :16:00.this year I think we have been in most games, really,
:16:01. > :16:01.even the Castleford game, we had a good second half
:16:02. > :16:04.against them and Leeds are the only team who really put us
:16:05. > :16:07.to the sword this year. You look at our points difference
:16:08. > :16:09.compared to last year, it's a lot better but as I said
:16:10. > :16:13.before, it's points on the board that matter most and we need
:16:14. > :16:15.to learn from these little errors we make and start
:16:16. > :16:18.to turn these performances Are you a little bit unsure
:16:19. > :16:23.what to prepare for, first half, they were poor against Wakefield,
:16:24. > :16:25.dropping the ball again, It's similar to a few weeks
:16:26. > :16:30.ago, we have just got Having played so many games over
:16:31. > :16:37.Easter, a lot of it is about as, how we prepare, how we get ready
:16:38. > :16:40.for the game. We can't control what Warrington
:16:41. > :16:43.team turn up but like you said earlier, they have great players,
:16:44. > :16:47.that the potential to play how they did,
:16:48. > :16:51.late on that game. Next up, Wigan who were at home
:16:52. > :16:54.to Catalan, the Dragons have won their last two on the road
:16:55. > :16:57.but could they win at Catalan on the attack
:16:58. > :17:06.looking to the first Tom Davis is on the break here, has
:17:07. > :17:19.he got the legs to go all the way? He's not going to catch him
:17:20. > :17:22.and Davis is going to saunter his way under the posts
:17:23. > :17:30.to give Wigan the lead. A good one-on-one tackle there,
:17:31. > :17:37.Wigan have another opportunity here and it's with Davis once more,
:17:38. > :17:43.can he get away from Gigot? Davis is going to get his second
:17:44. > :17:52.try in three minutes. Wigan enjoying a great
:17:53. > :18:00.spell of pressure here. Burgess spots the gap
:18:01. > :18:08.and he is going to go through. Is this going to be
:18:09. > :18:11.the moment for Catalan to get their first points
:18:12. > :18:15.of the day? Goes to ground, he has done really
:18:16. > :18:22.well to get that down. He has watched it and dropped it
:18:23. > :18:32.and it's going to be Tony Gigot that will score and he won't even
:18:33. > :18:42.mind slipping over. Anderson has caught it
:18:43. > :18:46.and Louis Anderson is going to score, and from 16-0 down,
:18:47. > :18:57.Catalan have turned this around! They have made a mess
:18:58. > :19:00.of that, Catalan, and Wigan Lovely pass and Louis Anderson
:19:01. > :19:13.is going to go over He has gone to ground but Forsyth
:19:14. > :19:28.has done really well to pick that one up and he has backed himself
:19:29. > :19:31.here, and he has scored Wigan, speeding things up
:19:32. > :19:42.at the ruck and it's paying Joe Burgess will go over,
:19:43. > :19:53.two tries in two minutes for Wigan. Can the Warriors find their way
:19:54. > :19:56.further in front here? They are in a commanding
:19:57. > :20:05.position now. Into the dying embers of the game
:20:06. > :20:09.but Wigan fancy more. Williams has broken through,
:20:10. > :20:13.feeds it inside for Liam Farrell and that's going to be a third
:20:14. > :20:20.win in a row for Wigan. All of the tries scored by Wigan
:20:21. > :20:23.were from academy products, is that the difference between them
:20:24. > :20:26.and a lot of the other teams, I was going to say amazing,
:20:27. > :20:32.but it's something we have come to expect from Wigan,
:20:33. > :20:37.they keep churning quality players out, year after year,
:20:38. > :20:42.players seem to come and go there, but the quality that
:20:43. > :20:46.comes in is exceptional. Both wingers,
:20:47. > :20:49.absolutely outstanding. The first year I have
:20:50. > :20:52.seen them playing, Catalan looked a little tired
:20:53. > :20:59.in the last 20 minutes? I think with them travelling around,
:21:00. > :21:02.over the Easter period, it might have taken more out of them
:21:03. > :21:06.than it has other teams, just missing key players,
:21:07. > :21:11.and the spine of the team has come back together now,
:21:12. > :21:13.Gigot back at fullback Now, St Helens beat the league
:21:14. > :21:24.leaders Castleford on Easter Monday, five days later they faced
:21:25. > :21:26.Widnes Vikings who started Moving through their tackles,
:21:27. > :21:46.moving a little closer. It's bounced off a St Helens player,
:21:47. > :21:59.I think, and Joe Mellor is in to score a fortuitous
:22:00. > :22:12.first Widnes try. Widnes defence, just on the rack
:22:13. > :22:20.a little at the moment. Matty Smith goes to the left-hand
:22:21. > :22:24.side, he looked to drop it and then he has caught it again
:22:25. > :22:28.and that is a try! And the fumble may have put
:22:29. > :22:37.the Widnes defence off. The dummy shown but not accepted
:22:38. > :22:41.by the St Helens defenders who are in to meet and greet
:22:42. > :22:48.in compromising fashion. Really good pass from Runciman
:22:49. > :22:56.and they are claiming the try. We're going to have
:22:57. > :23:01.to have a second look. I think there's a confidence
:23:02. > :23:11.on the field that this is going to be OK as a touchdown
:23:12. > :23:14.but a double-take doesn't go amiss, and that a spectacular
:23:15. > :23:16.finish from Ah Van. He is going to go left
:23:17. > :23:27.here, St Helens through If this is given, it
:23:28. > :23:41.will be a timely moment That shot suggests he has,
:23:42. > :23:52.it is a try and just before Percival to make it all square
:23:53. > :24:00.and he puts it over so it will be Ah Van and Lee just exchanging
:24:01. > :24:14.glances that, but it's all OK. St Helens look to punch
:24:15. > :24:20.a hole through the middle. St Helens look to get up
:24:21. > :24:26.and running, and offside. St Helens coaching staff
:24:27. > :24:29.have to stand to let Percival with the chance
:24:30. > :24:41.to give his side the lead They have been under terrific
:24:42. > :24:57.pressure here, Widnes. And they find themselves again
:24:58. > :25:01.with a lot of work to do to get away from the troublesome end
:25:02. > :25:12.of the field. Trying to create a dent
:25:13. > :25:18.in that St Helens line. It's a good, strong leg drive
:25:19. > :25:31.that has taken Widnes The grubber kick is testing
:25:32. > :25:42.from Mellor, Swift catches it but Widnes have forced the dropout
:25:43. > :25:49.underneath the sticks. What a terrific set of six that is,
:25:50. > :25:56.to go the length of the field. Walker, quick as a flash,
:25:57. > :26:05.but equally Smith, Down the blindside they go,
:26:06. > :26:14.and Patrick Ah Van with his second try of the game, might just have
:26:15. > :26:22.snatched it for Widnes! It's the second win of the season
:26:23. > :26:25.for the Widnes Vikings What a gutsy performance
:26:26. > :26:32.from them tonight. He talked about gutsy
:26:33. > :26:34.performance from Widnes, how much of that win was down
:26:35. > :26:38.to sheer guts? I think they probably just wanted
:26:39. > :26:42.it more than Saints. Saints, coming off the back
:26:43. > :26:44.of the win against Castleford, hoped it would be a catalyst,
:26:45. > :26:49.got a bit of a kick in the teeth When you are told as a team
:26:50. > :26:56.you were out-enthused It's possibly the worst thing
:26:57. > :27:04.someone can say to you, Because that's not a talent
:27:05. > :27:10.thing, it's something from inside you you should always
:27:11. > :27:16.want to be putting your best performance on and trying your best,
:27:17. > :27:19.so that does hurt but last game of Easter, it's
:27:20. > :27:21.always that sort of game, you see the young hooker there,
:27:22. > :27:28.chasing and dragging the winger over the line,
:27:29. > :27:31.they are things that can get you over and get you the victories,
:27:32. > :27:34.good to see the young Danny Walker had a really
:27:35. > :27:39.important role to play, just his second game as well,
:27:40. > :27:45.how impressed are you and how That's what you would
:27:46. > :27:54.expect from the young kids when they come in,
:27:55. > :27:57.if anything, that's what you want them to be doing, things like that,
:27:58. > :27:59.they are match-winning moments, you see great tries
:28:00. > :28:01.from people but moments They have Gilmour back,
:28:02. > :28:07.Mellor back, is that going to be the key for Widnes,
:28:08. > :28:10.you've talked about that spine? They have put a lot of focus
:28:11. > :28:15.on those two, Brown has left in the off-season,
:28:16. > :28:19.they have left it all up to those, both young halves, both very
:28:20. > :28:33.talented, I think the big player coming back is Patrick Ah Van,
:28:34. > :28:36.he takes work of the forwards in yardage, you see him getting
:28:37. > :28:38.the try there, he's always dangerous near the line,
:28:39. > :28:42.he is big for them and you can see Would you expect a few harsh
:28:43. > :28:47.words been said around They would have hoped they would
:28:48. > :28:53.have got a bit of reaction, having beaten Castleford,
:28:54. > :28:57.between the players, they were out enthused,
:28:58. > :28:59.that's an attitude saying, that the day with be
:29:00. > :29:01.disappointed with. The bottom team have won
:29:02. > :29:04.and the top team have lost, this is how things stand
:29:05. > :29:20.in the Super League table. Now the England squad
:29:21. > :29:23.for next month's Test match These are the names that
:29:24. > :29:37.will be heading down under. He has played the biggest
:29:38. > :29:42.competition in Australia, he must've been playing good rugby
:29:43. > :29:48.to get to that level. He was a winger then and he has been
:29:49. > :29:52.drafted up to the forwards but it will be looking forward
:29:53. > :29:55.to seeing him play. And is it nice to see Alex Walmsley
:29:56. > :29:59.getting his debut in that squad? It is always good to see the form
:30:00. > :30:01.players being picked. Obviously McMeekin
:30:02. > :30:04.is a success story. Daryl and Castleford
:30:05. > :30:06.have done a great job with him and he has
:30:07. > :30:10.improved every year. He is a real go to player for
:30:11. > :30:13.Castleford now and it is great to see players like that and obviously
:30:14. > :30:16.Alex has come from the Championship as well and had a great few years
:30:17. > :30:20.and it is good to see him getting When you look at the backs,
:30:21. > :30:26.you have the question of what back players will you go
:30:27. > :30:29.for, you've got Luke Gale and George Williamson, what might
:30:30. > :30:35.he do, do you think? That is probably the
:30:36. > :30:37.toughest selection. George Williams has been absolutely
:30:38. > :30:39.outstanding this year as Has he grown from what Wayne
:30:40. > :30:43.Bennett was saying about George Williams gives
:30:44. > :30:50.you a point of difference. He has got Wigan out
:30:51. > :30:53.of so much trouble. He has come up with a bit of magic
:30:54. > :30:56.and sometimes in test Now it is eight months
:30:57. > :30:59.since Gareth Hill Four Super League teams entered this
:31:00. > :31:04.year's competition at the weekend including Huddersfield
:31:05. > :31:08.who took gone Swinton. Championship side Swinton Lions
:31:09. > :31:10.travelled to the John Smith Stadium for the fifth round tie against
:31:11. > :31:13.Huddersfield. Both teams had won just two
:31:14. > :31:16.of their 11 league games this year and it was the Super League
:31:17. > :31:19.favourites who opened the scoring Home fans were hoping it would be
:31:20. > :31:22.plain sailing from there. However it was anything
:31:23. > :31:25.but with the game full Part timers Swinton edged
:31:26. > :31:29.ahead, first with this try from Sean Robinson
:31:30. > :31:34.and the second from Lloyd. Momentum then swung back
:31:35. > :31:37.in favour of the home side, a score from Sam Wood meant
:31:38. > :31:40.there was this effort by Mackintosh, which gave the Giants
:31:41. > :31:41.an 8-point cushion. But the cracks soon began to show
:31:42. > :31:44.from the side just one The try from Butt from the Lions,
:31:45. > :31:49.cutting the deficit to two points Despite only having 15
:31:50. > :31:53.players fit the day before, Swinton stunned the crowd of just
:31:54. > :31:56.over 1000, when they went ahead in the 51st minute
:31:57. > :32:01.through Conor Dwyer. Huddersfield upped their game
:32:02. > :32:03.and after a dominant spell headed back with this Oliver Roberts try
:32:04. > :32:06.on 67 minutes. With the score 24-22,
:32:07. > :32:08.in the Giants' favour, What followed was arguably one
:32:09. > :32:14.of the biggest Challenge Cup A spin and a push from
:32:15. > :32:19.Luke Waterworth, just four minutes from time gave the Lions
:32:20. > :32:21.an astonishing victory, their first win since 1928
:32:22. > :32:23.against Huddersfield and perhaps an indication of how far the Giants
:32:24. > :32:34.fall from grace has been. Danny, just put into context
:32:35. > :32:36.what an achievement They are a part-time team that has
:32:37. > :32:45.not really been performing too well in the Championship,
:32:46. > :32:47.but believe me, I have been in a Championship team before,
:32:48. > :32:50.playing in the Super League cup They have gone there and thrown
:32:51. > :32:58.everything at Huddersfield and knowing Huddersfield,
:32:59. > :33:00.and a bit of pressure as well and they have come up with a victory
:33:01. > :33:04.and you can see how much it They will probably live off that
:33:05. > :33:09.for the rest of the season. And for Huddersfield, what does that
:33:10. > :33:11.say about them at the moment? They will be embarrassed
:33:12. > :33:15.and disappointed. They have been beaten by a part-time
:33:16. > :33:22.team as Danny mentioned. You would like to see
:33:23. > :33:25.that there is going to be something They have to put that behind them,
:33:26. > :33:30.as difficult as it is going to be. They had a players meeting
:33:31. > :33:33.like you did last year. I think it is easier when you get
:33:34. > :33:48.into these little ruts to start feeling sorry for yourself a little
:33:49. > :33:51.bit, but I have been in teams before that have struggled
:33:52. > :33:54.and it is something that will turn They have too many good players,
:33:55. > :33:58.people like Danny Brough Three years ago, they had
:33:59. > :34:04.similar sorts of players and they finished top of the league,
:34:05. > :34:07.four years ago, these are good players, they have to start
:34:08. > :34:09.believing in themselves again and maybe change a few things
:34:10. > :34:15.that they are doing on the field. It is difficult for them,
:34:16. > :34:17.at the moment, especially after that, they will be embarrassed
:34:18. > :34:20.and hurting from that. Maybe that is the thing they needed
:34:21. > :34:24.to get the reaction. There were no problems for Leeds
:34:25. > :34:26.who overcame Doncaster 17-year-old Jack Walker had a debut
:34:27. > :34:34.to remember for the Rhinos. He scored a hat-trick of tries
:34:35. > :34:37.as Leeds beat their elite one opposition by 61points
:34:38. > :34:39.to 28 at Headingley. Next it is two teams who traded
:34:40. > :34:42.places at the end of 2016. Leigh were promoted to Super League
:34:43. > :34:44.where they replaced They were back in the same field
:34:45. > :34:48.in the Challenge Cup on Saturday and commentary comes from Richard
:34:49. > :35:10.Stead. Century and is looking to move the
:35:11. > :35:16.ball left. Drinkwater. Crooks has made a mistake. He is with the 30,
:35:17. > :35:35.towards the goal line. They will not catch him. What a start for. Alice.
:35:36. > :35:44.Rovers extend their advantage. That is really slack defence. Good try.
:35:45. > :35:47.Burr scores. Weston. Drinkwater. Bad pass. Crooks will find Lora Turnham.
:35:48. > :36:03.He is then. Greenwood. Wonderful stuff from Hull
:36:04. > :36:13.KR. Towards the goal line with Johnson. A body length shy. He looks
:36:14. > :36:18.to his right. Will it be a dropped goal? Ellis has put it over. That
:36:19. > :36:31.should do it. The fans are enjoying that. Ryan Shawcross dummy half.
:36:32. > :36:43.Shaw has got pace. Just the fullback to beat. That is wonderful. They are
:36:44. > :36:47.flying. The effort was tremendous and defence. They scrambled an
:36:48. > :36:51.really turned up for each other. That is the spirit in the club at
:36:52. > :36:58.the moment. To beat them here, it is a big effort. We have all been
:36:59. > :37:04.involved in a club where we have lost three games in three years and
:37:05. > :37:08.sometimes, you don't play great. The winning feeling is always still good
:37:09. > :37:14.and at the moment, we are not getting that. Some soul searching to
:37:15. > :37:18.be done, some hard work. We need to fix some individual traits and when
:37:19. > :37:22.we start doing that as a team, hopefully it will come through. You
:37:23. > :37:25.talked about Swinton playing Huddersfield, I am guessing that
:37:26. > :37:29.Hull KR were up for that and how much of that will have been looking
:37:30. > :37:34.ahead to the qualifiers and lane marker and showing what they can do?
:37:35. > :37:39.I am pretty sure as soon as that draw came out they were looking
:37:40. > :37:42.forward to it. I know quite a lot of players at Hull KR, a lot of Super
:37:43. > :37:49.League quality players and they have done a great job of keeping that job
:37:50. > :37:53.together. It was a chance for them to show there is still capable of
:37:54. > :37:57.beating full-time teams and they did that and they were really good on
:37:58. > :38:01.the day. They came up against Leigh had a good time. They have not
:38:02. > :38:05.really experience losing too much over the last couple of seasons and
:38:06. > :38:12.perhaps a bit of low confidence at the moment. It was a great game and
:38:13. > :38:17.a great performance by Hull KR. How tough is this? They have been
:38:18. > :38:23.winning week in and week out. How tough to find themselves on the
:38:24. > :38:26.losing streak? It is unknown territory. They have to do a bit of
:38:27. > :38:30.soul-searching and they will find out about themselves. Your biggest
:38:31. > :38:35.challenge is normally when the chips are down. They will find out about
:38:36. > :38:42.the group of players that they have. A moment of Challenge Cup history as
:38:43. > :38:46.Salford took on the Toronto Wolfpack making their first ever appearance
:38:47. > :38:52.in the competition. Salford will not have look forward to this? I think
:38:53. > :38:57.if you look at the Toronto team, it is as if you're on a computer game
:38:58. > :39:02.and picked the best attacking players and take them and then you
:39:03. > :39:08.look at players like Craig Hall and Liam King who scored a lot of tries.
:39:09. > :39:12.They are really going to throw a lot at you and you can see the way they
:39:13. > :39:16.throw the ball around. It is always going to be a challenge. For me, to
:39:17. > :39:21.beat them you have to grind it out and make it a tough encounter. If
:39:22. > :39:26.you go set for a set like this, they will challenge most teams. How
:39:27. > :39:32.excited are you about what Toronto are bringing to Rugby League. I
:39:33. > :39:33.think it is great for the game. Paul Rowley was talking about players
:39:34. > :39:53.approaching him and I do not blame them. The best thing
:39:54. > :39:56.about when I went to Australia was living there and experience in it
:39:57. > :39:58.and that is what it offers players, it offers them an opportunity. He
:39:59. > :40:01.will have loved that. Obviously Salford had it tough, they went down
:40:02. > :40:04.to ten men when Justin Carney was sent off. All do they get themselves
:40:05. > :40:07.back together to win this? They have changed a lot as a team and they can
:40:08. > :40:10.tough games out. You can see where they are in the table. They have a
:40:11. > :40:13.lot of big powerful men and their forward pack has been dominating
:40:14. > :40:18.games. I think that is why they got over the line as well as the smart
:40:19. > :40:23.halves as well. You see people like Dobson, when you're down to 12 men,
:40:24. > :40:29.those are the players you need, who will guide you around and keep
:40:30. > :40:32.everything calm. The last thing you need to do is panic. Is this the
:40:33. > :40:35.character that you want to see? Is Salford are going into the top four,
:40:36. > :40:41.is this the game that tells you a lot about them? It is a potential
:40:42. > :40:47.banana skin playing against someone in a position like that. For them to
:40:48. > :40:51.grind a game out, score some points this year and show some real
:40:52. > :40:56.attacking flair, but they really ground the game out and that will
:40:57. > :41:00.give them a big confidence boost. Toronto were disappointed they did
:41:01. > :41:05.not go through and do this. Yes. That is part of it. They are
:41:06. > :41:09.confident, they sat in that league where they are beating teams by 50
:41:10. > :41:14.or 60 every week and obviously too good to be in that division but it
:41:15. > :41:17.was a great chance for them to showcase their talent against a team
:41:18. > :41:20.doing well in Super League and they did that really well. We are looking
:41:21. > :41:27.forward to a trip to Toronto at some point. Salford and Leeds are safely
:41:28. > :41:32.through and here are the rest of the results in Round 5. An 83rd minute
:41:33. > :41:41.dropped goal helped Dewsbury beat badly in golden point extra time.
:41:42. > :41:46.16 teams are still standing for the sixth round draw including ten from
:41:47. > :41:51.Super League. You can see how they come out of the hat on the BBC News
:41:52. > :41:56.Channel or online at 6:30pm on Tuesday evening. That is just about
:41:57. > :42:07.it for now, my thanks to Gareth and Danny Bridge oiliness, we will see
:42:08. > :42:09.you next week, but for now, goodbye. -- Danny for now.
:42:10. > :42:12.I've got some good news. Did you hear?
:42:13. > :42:17.What are you talking about? What? What?
