:00:50. > :00:51.all in the company of Jamie Peacock and Michael Stanton.

:00:52. > :00:54.Strong and stable, we will let you decide, which is which.

:00:55. > :00:56.The only way, is up for Leigh Centurions who started

:00:57. > :00:59.the round at the bottom of the table, but all this week

:01:00. > :01:02.was all about local issues as they faced the Wigan Warriors.

:01:03. > :01:17.They will be glad to see him back in the line-up tonight.

:01:18. > :01:24.An effort to get them further forward from Joel Tomkins.

:01:25. > :01:27.It is picked up by McIlorum and moved left here,

:01:28. > :01:29.they have got numbers, a little slack and

:01:30. > :01:38.He is very very good at that, as he has shown already

:01:39. > :01:49.The interception from Ryan Hampshire, quick as a flash

:01:50. > :01:56.and I don't think he is going to be caught and boy will he love this.

:01:57. > :02:03.He read that with precision and once he caught it, he was unstoppable.

:02:04. > :02:22.Pelissier, the other Frenchman at his heels,

:02:23. > :02:34.Leigh stand their lead and the Leigh fans are loving this.

:02:35. > :02:39.Worked left again, trying to find some numbers here.

:02:40. > :02:47.Leuluai hanging on, needs to, in at dummy half goes Paterson.

:02:48. > :02:51.Another kick here, another test of the Wigan defence.

:02:52. > :02:55.The referee says it and he is there to take it, for a third try.

:02:56. > :03:08.Leigh are beginning to sweep ahead here.

:03:09. > :03:16.No way through on that occasion for Wells.

:03:17. > :03:19.Here is Ganson again, he is going to have a goal

:03:20. > :03:23.from dummy half is Ganson, has he touched that down?

:03:24. > :03:34.Might have just brushed the top of the surface here.

:03:35. > :03:40.He has done well, has young Josh Ganson.

:03:41. > :03:55.Ganson away to Gildart, Gildart with a step back to the outside,

:03:56. > :03:59.the dummy is shown and then the pass away for Williams, and Gildart

:04:00. > :04:01.showing what class has been missing while he has been absent

:04:02. > :04:13.and Williams, the grateful recipient to score.

:04:14. > :04:22.Held up, but less than ten away and they are going

:04:23. > :04:31.So it is a penalty and Neil Dukes pointing

:04:32. > :04:42.So Reynolds just settles himself, three out of three so far tonight.

:04:43. > :04:45.For young Ben Reynolds and he has kicked that and it means that Leigh

:04:46. > :04:49.will go into the half-time with that lead.

:04:50. > :05:03.Leigh's defence is resolute at the moment.

:05:04. > :05:12.Williams with a short pass, the off-load by Isa,

:05:13. > :05:16.Tierney gives it away and Gildart is over to score and within three

:05:17. > :05:26.minutes of the re-start, Wigan are back within striking distance.

:05:27. > :05:44.It is the swarm of defenders around them, there is no way

:05:45. > :05:48.Little pick-up from dummy half here, Mitch Brown, has he got in?

:05:49. > :05:50.The referee has a look, he's not sure.

:05:51. > :05:58.Mitch Brown, has he hit the line there?

:05:59. > :06:01.Wigan's defence will be embarrassed if he has, it looks

:06:02. > :06:06.There is the super zoom that tells you that the whitewash has been

:06:07. > :06:11.They have a little comfort in their lead again.

:06:12. > :06:18.Jamie Acton will drive it forward, putting Leigh again within close

:06:19. > :06:30.Steps to the right, back to the left.

:06:31. > :06:34.Has he been pushed back, has he been repelled?

:06:35. > :06:39.And there is a bit of a celebration going on and he thinks it is a try.

:06:40. > :06:50.Has that ball again touched the whitewash?

:06:51. > :07:01.And for a second time, that Wigan defence concedes on its own line.

:07:02. > :07:04.Again, just pushing Wigan back almost to their own goal-line,

:07:05. > :07:20.Wigan are defending again and Hood has gone for it.

:07:21. > :07:23.They think he has got it, he thinks he has got it.

:07:24. > :07:25.It is a third Leigh try in ten minutes and they have

:07:26. > :07:30.The Leigh fans absolutely loving it it, but Wigan looking to restore

:07:31. > :07:32.what they would consider a little order.

:07:33. > :07:46.So Joel Tomkins is here and here is Frank Nuuausala.

:07:47. > :08:10.But now it comes to Cory Paterson and he is in.

:08:11. > :08:14.Again, that online defence will be questioned, but Leigh are not

:08:15. > :08:16.bothered about that, they are loving this.

:08:17. > :08:24.Wouldn't they love a half century here, Leigh,

:08:25. > :08:29.Holding off defenders, puts it back on the inside.

:08:30. > :08:36.That line just hanging on to McNally.

:08:37. > :08:39.Leigh, still, had a couple of tackles in the bag here.

:08:40. > :08:47.The ball goes to ground, little kick, this is going to be a try,

:08:48. > :08:53.They could not have dreamt of a night like this, Leigh.

:08:54. > :08:56.The battle of the borough is painting the big

:08:57. > :09:06.And Wigan cannot believe what is happening here.

:09:07. > :09:12.What an astonishing night this has been in this astonishing

:09:13. > :09:18.Wigan are looking to finish with a bit of a flurry

:09:19. > :09:22.and they will, because Joel Burgess is over to score, but it is barely

:09:23. > :09:25.worth celebrating on a night that has been utterly, unbelievably

:09:26. > :09:38.Left they go again, it is simply a matter of counting down the clock

:09:39. > :09:43.Burgess might go all the way, he gets the pass away

:09:44. > :09:48.at the last moment and Ganson will get his second of the night.

:09:49. > :09:50.So, two late tries conceded, but what a night this

:09:51. > :09:58.Michael, in a week of shocks, that was right up there,

:09:59. > :10:01.did you see Leigh before that game putting 50 points on Wigan?

:10:02. > :10:05.I can remember watching that game thinking this is Wigan

:10:06. > :10:09.You cannot underestimate Leigh, we played them a couple of weeks

:10:10. > :10:12.before, we watched them, they are a dangerous team.

:10:13. > :10:14.They have really good purple patches in games.

:10:15. > :10:16.They are not quite consistent in performance and that is

:10:17. > :10:20.But, I think they showed that, again, over the 80 minutes,

:10:21. > :10:26.But, they did enough, you could see the engine,

:10:27. > :10:30.They were really fired up for that one and it was

:10:31. > :10:34.Wigan, defensively, I mean Shaun Wane would have

:10:35. > :10:35.been tearing his hair out, won't he?

:10:36. > :10:38.I think he will be relatively unhappy about that.

:10:39. > :10:40.If you look at Wigan over the last few seasons,

:10:41. > :10:43.certainly since Michael Maguire came in, they have been very good

:10:44. > :10:45.defensively and as a coach, I think sometimes you can take

:10:46. > :10:49.losing, but to lose by 50 points, I think that is what is going

:10:50. > :10:51.to hurt Shaun the most and also the Wigan side.

:10:52. > :10:55.I think the good thing about Wigan, if you go all the way back

:10:56. > :10:57.to February, they were outstanding and I think once they get those

:10:58. > :11:00.players back, they will be a threat in the league,

:11:01. > :11:02.but the problem is, they are getting further and further

:11:03. > :11:05.away from the top four and it is their title to defend

:11:06. > :11:08.and if they get too far away, there is no catching that up,

:11:09. > :11:12.and they need to start winning and start winning soon.

:11:13. > :11:14.For Leigh, obviously because it is Wigan,

:11:15. > :11:16.it meant that much more, it seems, at the end,

:11:17. > :11:18.absolutely fantastic, but in terms of the whole

:11:19. > :11:21.of their season, what can that do for them going forward?

:11:22. > :11:24.Even if they do find themselves in the bottom four?

:11:25. > :11:26.It is confidence, they are an ambitious club and they have

:11:27. > :11:31.They have shown the ambition to get into the Super League

:11:32. > :11:36.I think they had realistic goals, saying that they just wanted

:11:37. > :11:41.They have made some quite good signings, haven't they?

:11:42. > :11:43.Glenn Stewart was a good one, who gave leadership,

:11:44. > :11:46.That is a good one coming in for next year.

:11:47. > :11:49.And they have announced today that Bryson Goodwin is coming in,

:11:50. > :11:52.so they are setting a real statement, saying that they are

:11:53. > :11:56.They have to keep learning from those experiences,

:11:57. > :12:03.Huddersfield have the chance to take the leap toward safety on Saturday,

:12:04. > :12:05.a win for the Giants against Catalan would see them climb

:12:06. > :12:07.above the Dragons and out of the bottom four.

:12:08. > :12:25.Martin Ridyard, will target the side.

:12:26. > :12:34.And the Giants lead in Perpignan, or do they?

:12:35. > :12:45.Danny Brough, back in the side the last couple of weeks,

:12:46. > :12:47.is there an obstruction there, though?

:12:48. > :12:55.That is a great finish from Aaron Murphy.

:12:56. > :13:14.Catalan were all at sea, and he gets his first Super League try.

:13:15. > :13:20.Little skip from dummy half by Leeming.

:13:21. > :13:29.Huddersfield Giants making a flying start here.

:13:30. > :13:32.They have worked it away to the left-hand side

:13:33. > :13:34.where Jordan Turner accelerates into space, he has got

:13:35. > :13:37.a man on the outside and a man on the inside,

:13:38. > :13:39.back in field to Danny Brough, he will go around to

:13:40. > :13:44.the corner and touchdown and the Giants strike again.

:13:45. > :13:53.It is all down to the run of Jordan Turner.

:13:54. > :13:55.Catalan Dragons, have they got anything in them here?

:13:56. > :13:56.So far, it has been all Huddersfield.

:13:57. > :14:05.Attacks the left-hand side, finds a gap and they do have a score

:14:06. > :14:12.Quick play, the ball, Leeming jumps out of dummy half

:14:13. > :14:15.He has got options on the short side.

:14:16. > :14:18.He will attack the right-hand side, it is on to Cudjoe.

:14:19. > :14:22.They're going to push it from right to left here.

:14:23. > :14:29.Catalan strewn out across the ten metres as Hinchcliffe looks

:14:30. > :14:35.to get away and he is eventually just stopped.

:14:36. > :14:37.Cudjoe, he has got Mamo on the wraparound,

:14:38. > :14:48.Again, Chris Kendall wants to go to the video referee and again,

:14:49. > :14:56.Jake Mamo popped up on the left-hand side in that move.

:14:57. > :14:59.Was he forward of the ball when that kick goes through?

:15:00. > :15:02.He gets to it first and that is a decent

:15:03. > :15:04.grounding and it looks like they are going to give

:15:05. > :15:21.The game is well poised, Brough takes on the Catalan line,

:15:22. > :15:23.double pump, slides his way through and will touch

:15:24. > :15:26.And the captain is standing up for his team.

:15:27. > :15:28.And again we are going to the video referee.

:15:29. > :15:32.Chris Kendall can't be faulted for trying to get things right here.

:15:33. > :15:36.He has given try as the on field position.

:15:37. > :15:39.As Brough looks to take on the line, he sells the dummy and the Catalan

:15:40. > :15:42.defence buys it, no obstruction there for me.

:15:43. > :15:47.And he just steps the last man and that is a simple score.

:15:48. > :15:59.Bosquet, Catalan trying to find some front-foot ball here.

:16:00. > :16:04.From dummy half they work it away to the right-hand side,

:16:05. > :16:07.Luke Walsh looks to put the kick in but Jake Mamo has

:16:08. > :16:12.Now it is a foot race between the scrambling Catalan cover

:16:13. > :16:16.and Jake Mamo and the former Newcastle Knights full-back has

:16:17. > :16:21.the pace and he will go the near length of the field

:16:22. > :16:23.and gets his second of the game and that surely

:16:24. > :16:27.is Huddersfield Giants in full control.

:16:28. > :16:31.No question about that one and a happy travelling support.

:16:32. > :16:34.Leeming, who has been a live wire, goes to the right-hand side,

:16:35. > :16:42.Catalan this time just about holding firm.

:16:43. > :16:45.Casty in at the play-the-ball as Oli Roberts looked to play it

:16:46. > :16:49.and they will target the short side again, Jermaine McGillvary!

:16:50. > :16:54.Just scythes through and that is as easy a try as he will score

:16:55. > :16:59.and the Giants just running away with it now.

:17:00. > :17:02.Brough at dummy half, into the willing McGillvary

:17:03. > :17:09.O'Brien gets it away, Ikahihifo puts on a bit of footwork

:17:10. > :17:12.as well and then accelerates into the gap and he has Jake Mamo

:17:13. > :17:17.It is a race between him and he will get there first

:17:18. > :17:21.and Catalan Dragons are all at sea at the back, absolutely shredded.

:17:22. > :17:23.Because Jake Mamo is on fire and that could be

:17:24. > :17:44.O'Brien into acting half-back, they will come to this left-hand

:17:45. > :17:46.side, no, they will switch it to the right.

:17:47. > :17:49.Brough out the back, it is a loose pass, Cudjoe recycles it.

:17:50. > :17:51.Loops the pass to the right-hand side, McGillvary

:17:52. > :18:02.It has taken five Catalan players to shut him out on that far side.

:18:03. > :18:08.Lovely little wraparound play, here goes Jake Mamo!

:18:09. > :18:23.And still a good 12 minutes to play and they are bouncing.

:18:24. > :18:33.They have put the shutters down on that move.

:18:34. > :18:35.Da Costa from dummy half, he finds Myler, back

:18:36. > :18:45.A smart try but I think he has hurt himself in the process.

:18:46. > :18:48.Chris Kendall blows for the score but it will mean little to Catalan

:18:49. > :18:52.Already 50 points up here, the Giants could be forgiven

:18:53. > :18:55.for slowing things down here but they are gunning for it

:18:56. > :19:00.Onto Mamo, Mamo looks for McGillvary and it has come to Cudjoe

:19:01. > :19:03.but McGillvary will finish in the end.

:19:04. > :19:19.Few teams come to Perpignan and deliver a scoreline like that.

:19:20. > :19:22.Jamie, though it seems an eternity ago, it was only three weeks ago

:19:23. > :19:25.at Magic Weekend that these two had a really tight, quite

:19:26. > :19:27.frankly dreadful game, but whereas Catalan have spiralled

:19:28. > :19:29.downwards from there, what have you made Huddersfield's rise?

:19:30. > :19:31.They are playing very well at the moment.

:19:32. > :19:33.If you compare to how they were playing at the beginning

:19:34. > :19:36.of the season, they looked like a rabble at the beginning of

:19:37. > :19:39.the year and that is what Catalans look like at the moment.

:19:40. > :19:41.But the last two games, they have played very

:19:42. > :19:45.To go down to Catalans and nearly put 60 points on them,

:19:46. > :19:48.if they had kicked two goals it would have been 60 points

:19:49. > :19:51.against Catalans and that is a hell of a win down there.

:19:52. > :19:54.It is a difficult place to go down there and play,

:19:55. > :19:58.And Jake Mamo seems to be growing by the game.

:19:59. > :20:00.He got the headlines here because of his tries

:20:01. > :20:03.but what do you think he has brought all round to the team?

:20:04. > :20:05.Absolutely, he has changed how Huddersfield are playing,

:20:06. > :20:07.since he has come back from his injury and obviously

:20:08. > :20:11.There were big raps from the coach, Rick Stone, saying, wait

:20:12. > :20:14.for this kid to come in, he's going to change our season

:20:15. > :20:18.He has come in and brought energy and some pace into the attack.

:20:19. > :20:22.He is not a massive threat as a ballplayer like some full-backs

:20:23. > :20:25.but he has got loads of energy and he's difficult to tackle

:20:26. > :20:27.and he's always pushing up the middle and he's not scared

:20:28. > :20:30.of a little chip through like that, kicking the ball.

:20:31. > :20:33.He is willing to play and off the back of some of the other backs,

:20:34. > :20:36.people like Danny Brough, Cudjoe, those kind of guys,

:20:37. > :20:40.Has that been one of the keys, the speed he has brought to them?

:20:41. > :20:44.Because they were a slow rabble as well at the beginning of the year!

:20:45. > :20:49.I love watching him play, he is a busy player.

:20:50. > :20:51.One of those players that makes things happen

:20:52. > :20:53.because he is always in the frame, always there or thereabouts,

:20:54. > :20:55.looking for breaks and trying to make things happen.

:20:56. > :20:58.When you play with a player like that who is that enthusiastic,

:20:59. > :21:02.it rubs off on everybody else, everybody else wants a part of it.

:21:03. > :21:04.He brings a lot of energy to that side.

:21:05. > :21:07.Catalan, we think, are set to announce a new coach and it

:21:08. > :21:10.Let's assume we are right, what can he bring to them,

:21:11. > :21:18.You have seen them conceding nearly 60 points, he will bring great

:21:19. > :21:19.structures and systems and he will bring

:21:20. > :21:24.He will expect the best out of those players.

:21:25. > :21:27.You look at that squad and it should be in and around the top four,

:21:28. > :21:31.If they do manage to sign Steve, I think it would be

:21:32. > :21:35.I think it is good for the competition

:21:36. > :21:39.Now to The Jungle where top of the table Castleford faced Warrington.

:21:40. > :21:42.It was back in week two when the Tigers recorded

:21:43. > :21:45.an impressive win against the Wolves and set the tone for both

:21:46. > :22:22.COMMENTATOR: Castleford Tigers on the attack in the early exchanges

:22:23. > :22:26.of this one and it is Luke Gale with a high, high kick and Greg Eden

:22:27. > :22:31.has plucked that one down and Castleford have the lead.

:22:32. > :22:37.Chris Hill the man as Andy Lynch carries the ball and there

:22:38. > :22:41.is a little bit of afters now between both sides.

:22:42. > :22:44.Gale got the pass away and Chris Hill came storming in.

:22:45. > :22:50.The referee says that is ten minutes in the bin for Chris Hill.

:22:51. > :22:56.Can Castleford make this man advantage count now?

:22:57. > :23:00.It is Hardaker, it is Shenton, it is Eden and of course that means

:23:01. > :23:15.That is beautiful from McMeeken and that is Greg Minikin in.

:23:16. > :23:21.Massey with the big hit there and he spotted the gap as well

:23:22. > :23:24.and has got the ball away to Luke Gale and Gale has McMeekin

:23:25. > :23:27.in support and that is the third try for Castleford since Warrington went

:23:28. > :23:33.Will this be the moment that Warrington get their first

:23:34. > :23:37.It is going to be a long, long pass out for Lineham.

:23:38. > :23:44.The Tigers weighing up the options here, looking for a big lead

:23:45. > :23:47.going into the break and it is Greg Eden!

:23:48. > :23:57.Quick run from acting half-back again from Roberts,

:23:58. > :24:05.He has one man pestering him but he has pushed him off and he has

:24:06. > :24:12.We all know what this is going to lead to, a Greg Eden try.

:24:13. > :24:15.Castleford have started this second half like they ended the first,

:24:16. > :24:18.on top of this game and it is Michael Shenton

:24:19. > :24:23.And that is a fifth try for Greg Eden!

:24:24. > :24:26.At this point Warrington are just hoping to get some points

:24:27. > :24:29.on the board and it is Westerman with a great solo effort,

:24:30. > :24:35.he has done really well there, Joe Westerman.

:24:36. > :24:38.It is Roberts again from acting half-back and he has done it once

:24:39. > :24:41.more, he has broken through the line here for Castleford.

:24:42. > :24:45.Has Minikin got the legs to go all the way here

:24:46. > :24:49.No, great tackle, Tom Lineham one of two men to bring him down.

:24:50. > :24:52.But Lineham is refusing to let go and the referee says

:24:53. > :25:04.A second sin-binning of the game for Warrington.

:25:05. > :25:07.Warrington close to the line and Jack Hughes has got a lot

:25:08. > :25:10.of work to do here but he has done well to get that down

:25:11. > :25:16.but it is going to be victory for Castleford.

:25:17. > :25:21.Some exceptional bits of skill in there from us.

:25:22. > :25:24.I thought we dominated the game and deserved to win the game

:25:25. > :25:27.but obviously a little bit scratchy and a bit up and down

:25:28. > :25:31.But I thought we had the game kind of done and dusted early

:25:32. > :25:34.on in the first half, moving on and scored a couple

:25:35. > :25:36.of quick tries in the second half and it was done.

:25:37. > :25:39.Warrington were chasing the game, they are a dangerous team

:25:40. > :25:42.when they doing that and they pulled the score back a bit.

:25:43. > :25:44.But it was pleasing, some good performances, Ben Roberts,

:25:45. > :25:49.he is so hard to handle from dummy half and he was sensational for us.

:25:50. > :25:51.Obviously Greg Eden getting a huge amount of headlines

:25:52. > :25:55.because of his five tries but talk us through that left edge and how

:25:56. > :25:58.hard you have had to work to make it look as easy as you guys

:25:59. > :26:02.Absolutely, for the last few years since Daryl has come in we have

:26:03. > :26:05.had our left edge playing pretty well and the combinations,

:26:06. > :26:07.it's all about timing, fixing up the right man

:26:08. > :26:09.from our back row, Jesse Sene-Lefao making sure he's

:26:10. > :26:16.And then a new full-back coming in, Zak, and it's teaching Zak something

:26:17. > :26:19.a little bit different from what he's used to and he has

:26:20. > :26:22.really grown into that and being able to fix players,

:26:23. > :26:27.And then my combination with Greg is a big one.

:26:28. > :26:30.It was tough because Greg wanted to play a lot

:26:31. > :26:34.And it was pretty scratchy, the first couple of months

:26:35. > :26:37.of pre-season, to be honest, but a lot of hard work later it has

:26:38. > :26:40.kind of come off and I know Greg is there now and it is just

:26:41. > :26:43.getting him to talk and finding the pass and anywhere

:26:44. > :26:45.in the vicinity for Greg and he has been sensational.

:26:46. > :26:50.You have played with him, he has been a real servant to the game,

:26:51. > :26:53.not a man who has maybe had the headlines he deserves?

:26:54. > :26:56.He's a champion, there's no doubt about that.

:26:57. > :27:00.I played with him for a while at Bradford and I think,

:27:01. > :27:05.any good side has a good coach but that good coach needs a leader

:27:06. > :27:07.within the team to drive standards and Andy Lynch is that man.

:27:08. > :27:10.He is the guy who trains harder than anybody else,

:27:11. > :27:14.he will turn up earlier than anybody else and also for me he is a player

:27:15. > :27:16.who will deliver an inconvenient truth to another player that

:27:17. > :27:18.sometimes doesn't have to come from the coach.

:27:19. > :27:21.And I think he's been integral to the success that Castleford

:27:22. > :27:24.are building as any other player and the coach themselves.

:27:25. > :27:29.He really is a champion in the modern era.

:27:30. > :27:31.It's funny, I remember when Daryl signed him,

:27:32. > :27:33.he talked about bringing in the right characters.

:27:34. > :27:39.Absolutely, I think Jamie has touched on it, his standards,

:27:40. > :27:43.When he wants to help people around him get better,

:27:44. > :27:46.he's the first to grab people, take them for extras,

:27:47. > :27:48.the young lads as well, the young front rowers.

:27:49. > :27:51.Sets standards within the team, he's a vocal person within our team

:27:52. > :27:54.as well and just the way he performs as well, he's one of our most

:27:55. > :27:57.consistent players since he has come back to the club and his whole

:27:58. > :28:00.career, he has been Mr Consistent and an absolute

:28:01. > :28:06.A quick word about Warrington, will they take heart from some

:28:07. > :28:12.It's always easier to play when the game has gone.

:28:13. > :28:15.I think they're going to have to start a hell of a lot better

:28:16. > :28:18.against Wigan in the cup if they're going to do it.

:28:19. > :28:21.I think the best thing that's going to happen to Warrington

:28:22. > :28:24.is having a break from Super League and realise they're in the cup.

:28:25. > :28:26.They've got good muscle memory of playing well

:28:27. > :28:29.Both Castleford and Warrington will be in Challenge Cup action this

:28:30. > :28:37.weekend and you can follow all four quarter finals on the BBC.

:28:38. > :28:38.5 Live Sports Extra will have commentary

:28:39. > :28:42.of Salford against Wakefield from 7:30pm on Thursday.

:28:43. > :28:45.There will also be at Leeds against Featherstone on Friday.

:28:46. > :28:48.There is live television coverage of Warrington against Wigan,

:28:49. > :28:51.that's on BBC One from 2:20pm on Saturday and the quarter finals

:28:52. > :28:53.are completed on Sunday when Hull take on Castleford.

:28:54. > :29:01.This week's fixtures were the annual State of Mind

:29:02. > :29:04.round which is all about raising awareness of mental health.

:29:05. > :29:07.The former Super League referee Ian Smith is one of the team that

:29:08. > :29:09.talks to groups around the country, encouraging them to speak

:29:10. > :29:27.I refereed in Super League for 12 years.

:29:28. > :29:33.You speak to players and they have that comfort of their team-mates

:29:34. > :29:36.and even though we have touch judges and the match officials department

:29:37. > :29:39.as such, when you're out there it is still a very lonely

:29:40. > :29:52.Because of the external pressures that the referees and the match

:29:53. > :29:55.officials are put under, from all stakeholders, from owners

:29:56. > :29:58.to players to coaches to fans, I think what people don't understand

:29:59. > :30:00.is that inside that uniform there is a human being that

:30:01. > :30:05.And people think it's unacceptable for a match official to make

:30:06. > :30:08.mistakes and that pressure that is placed on them does or can

:30:09. > :30:29.You stole it. Move! When you are under that type of intense pressure

:30:30. > :30:33.on and off the field to perform it effect your mood swings but when you

:30:34. > :30:38.are performing at a professional level you get on with it because you

:30:39. > :30:40.have the next match to come. Every time you surrender I call surrender.

:30:41. > :30:53.Don't surrender unless you want to. I felt I had lost my identity and I

:30:54. > :30:59.struggled with mental health issues and because I did the state of mind

:31:00. > :31:04.training, I really wanted to find out more so I approached Malcolm and

:31:05. > :31:13.Phil, two of the trustees and I started to get involved and I did

:31:14. > :31:17.some work with Sporting chance down toggle Schmeichel Down and I tried

:31:18. > :31:22.to promote and raise awareness of mental health issues within men

:31:23. > :31:26.really. Every time I present, it is like my own therapy class, because

:31:27. > :31:36.you are picking up little ways of coping and moving forward. I am in a

:31:37. > :31:40.great place at the moment. State of mind is one of those things that

:31:41. > :31:45.Rugby League can be proud of. Are you more conscious of it within

:31:46. > :31:50.players and in the dressing room? Recently there has been a lot of

:31:51. > :31:54.awareness pushed on to us as well. There are players who have dealt

:31:55. > :32:01.with depression and there are plenty of things out there that are really

:32:02. > :32:05.good that work for us and I think rugby players have helped lead the

:32:06. > :32:08.way and being honest about emotions and they are open to talk about

:32:09. > :32:12.their feelings and there is a lot of support networks out there for us

:32:13. > :32:16.and they are leading the way for other sports and people in the

:32:17. > :32:22.public. We are proud of Forest board for doing that. When you hear Ian

:32:23. > :32:27.Smith talking, we are guilty in the media of having a go at the referee,

:32:28. > :32:31.do we need to step back, as it got to the point, where we need to step

:32:32. > :32:36.back and keep some of that at least behind closed doors? The next time

:32:37. > :32:43.we see a referee make a mistake, you try and think of the day at work

:32:44. > :32:48.were you made a mistake and I do not think you will find it hard to find

:32:49. > :32:53.one. We all make mistakes. It is frustrating. There is a human being

:32:54. > :32:58.behind that and seen him speak, it makes you realise how difficult it

:32:59. > :33:02.must be to be a referee. Doing something that you love but to have

:33:03. > :33:07.thousands of people shout abuse at you. It is a tough position. So

:33:08. > :33:12.often they are wrong and you have got the decision right. That is

:33:13. > :33:16.right. They come under even more scrutiny these days. Perhaps they do

:33:17. > :33:31.not need that. Let us get a form guide unto more Challenge Cup

:33:32. > :33:49.finalists, Leeds against Hull FC. Praise for Roman Costello. --

:33:50. > :33:56.Salford. Michaels. Chance for ten to set an early platform. The off-load

:33:57. > :34:02.is good, keep things looking lively. What's sashaying to the left-hand

:34:03. > :34:12.side. Five tackles gone, one to come. Back to the middle. The chip

:34:13. > :34:26.from Conor is being challenged for. He will claim the try. Confirmation

:34:27. > :34:32.required. He thinks it is a try. The onside of side is OK, what about the

:34:33. > :34:35.grounding? That looks fine and the video referee will confirm that Hull

:34:36. > :34:43.have the early lead with seven minutes played. Wash broke. I do not

:34:44. > :34:49.think he would have been expecting to play at that position but the

:34:50. > :34:56.illness to Danny Houghton has made it past. Here is Kelly, puts the

:34:57. > :35:03.ball in. Support from Kelly again. He will finish underneath the posts.

:35:04. > :35:15.Absolutely delightful try. Great angle by the prop, good backing up

:35:16. > :35:21.by Albert Kelly. Dobson. Salford, that is a bad pass and Kelly can

:35:22. > :35:28.pounce. One kick, and other left footer. I think he has got there.

:35:29. > :35:36.The Salford fans behind look pretty glum. Albert Kelly is confident he

:35:37. > :35:42.has got his second try. The referee was a long way back. They need

:35:43. > :35:46.absolute confirmation from the video referee who will give it on the

:35:47. > :35:56.evidence of that. A second for Albert Kelly. It is the third for

:35:57. > :36:01.Hull. Washbrook pushing his man out of the way. A chance here underneath

:36:02. > :36:06.the sticks to really set something up special. Washbrook goes out

:36:07. > :36:14.there. He has got there, I think. The referee confirms, Danny

:36:15. > :36:23.Washburn, nothing on with three defenders, really easy reach over to

:36:24. > :36:29.score. -- Washbrook. Dobson. They are looking for a way back. That is

:36:30. > :36:36.a lovely off-load from Robert Louis. What a piece of handling that was.

:36:37. > :36:46.Just the start to the second half that Salford needed. A bit of a leap

:36:47. > :36:52.and a stretch for Kelly. He has kept a hold of it and Hull continued to

:36:53. > :36:56.search here. Salford under real pressure. Got a foothold back in the

:36:57. > :37:05.game but under pressure straightaway. Carlos Tim Barbet,

:37:06. > :37:14.sliding through. Studying the whole ship again and putting them back

:37:15. > :37:22.into control. It is the last, they will need something. Knocked down.

:37:23. > :37:27.It goes backwards. Flick inside was attempted and Robert Louis does not

:37:28. > :37:31.get there. Jamie Shaul is on his travels on me know he is quick.

:37:32. > :37:36.There are two of them trying to chase him down, he beats one, holes

:37:37. > :37:52.off another and scores a truly remarkable try. 90 odd yards,

:37:53. > :38:01.wonderful from Jamie Shaul. Seeking out some kind of way through here.

:38:02. > :38:08.Not finding any at the moment. Currently, going left, little

:38:09. > :38:19.dummies shout, he is over. A lot of damage already done. Salford are not

:38:20. > :38:25.at their best tonight. You play Hull in their Challenge Cup quarterfinal,

:38:26. > :38:30.what make of that perform at? I watched that game, Albert Kelly was

:38:31. > :38:36.sensational. He was really on fire. Going forward, right from the back

:38:37. > :38:42.three, especially the two wingers, real power and energy about them.

:38:43. > :38:46.They have the big front row as well. What impressed me from Hull was

:38:47. > :38:54.there a defensive attitude. You can see it meant a lot to protect their

:38:55. > :38:58.line. Real energy. Salford, they were a off their usual standards.

:38:59. > :39:04.You talked about the defensive effort, we have it here and this was

:39:05. > :39:09.a Hull shorn of a lot of it forward players, but a lot of the

:39:10. > :39:15.established names. I think they had Marc Sneyd out, Taylor, miniature

:39:16. > :39:20.yellow, Gareth Ellis, it just shows the game is about attitude, they had

:39:21. > :39:24.eight players who had graduated from the academy and that is the big

:39:25. > :39:29.success story, to go to Salford who were riding high in the league and

:39:30. > :39:32.have those players and to win the game, should the game is not just

:39:33. > :39:40.about experience but about your desire. These clips, you would think

:39:41. > :39:45.Hull had 17 players out there. You seem to see more black and white

:39:46. > :39:48.shirts and yellow shirts. I feel I should stand back given the column

:39:49. > :39:53.that you wrote in the newspaper but Salford looked tired, these guys

:39:54. > :40:01.have played a lot of games. You can say that, but why did Hull not

:40:02. > :40:06.looked tired? Is it mental fatigue? It is a tough period for a player,

:40:07. > :40:14.no doubt about it, it is difficult to get yourself up for a game over

:40:15. > :40:20.and over again. I am not going to pick an argument. That is for sure.

:40:21. > :40:22.It is the return of set of six as we continue to test the all-round

:40:23. > :40:23.knowledge of the Super League storage. The centre of attention

:40:24. > :40:51.this week is a player from Catalan. Boiled, fried, die. Chips, fries?

:40:52. > :41:05.Pass. Barcelona, Manchester, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Shola. Billie

:41:06. > :41:20.Jean, thriller, blame it on the boogie. ABC, now. Pass. Basketball,

:41:21. > :41:38.soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, hockey, netball. Guitar, ukelele,

:41:39. > :41:43.trumpet, trombone, piano, and flute. French, English, Spanish, Fijian,

:41:44. > :41:58.Tongan, Samoan. An impressive effort there. Saint

:41:59. > :42:03.Helens have the chance to move above Wigan but to do so they had to beat

:42:04. > :42:05.Widnes on Friday. What do you make of the Saints? They have improved,

:42:06. > :42:09.they have got some good players, they have got some good players,

:42:10. > :42:13.they needed someone to come in and give them some confidence.

:42:14. > :42:16.Everything you have heard about the new manager, he seems to be a good

:42:17. > :42:21.coach and they're heading in the right direction. They will be

:42:22. > :42:32.disappointed to lose going into that they will be pleased about beating

:42:33. > :42:35.Wigan. Jonny Lomax has come back in, he had a good game at fullback, will

:42:36. > :42:39.he be conscious of the signings that he made? We are not sure if he will

:42:40. > :42:43.be able to play at all. It is up in the air at the moment. A great

:42:44. > :42:50.signing for Super League. It should be exciting. Johnny has great

:42:51. > :42:55.utility value and can play at centre back and fullback. They will find a

:42:56. > :42:59.place for him. You look at the strength they have, they should be

:43:00. > :43:03.doing better than they have been. Holbrooke, lots of good things

:43:04. > :43:10.coming from their camp, I know a few of their players, the coach wants to

:43:11. > :43:16.jail the team. You can see it on the pitch. It helps that they are pretty

:43:17. > :43:20.much at full strength. For Widnes, Dennis was fairly honest, they were

:43:21. > :43:26.beaten by the better team on the day. I think it is going to be hard

:43:27. > :43:29.for them to get out of the bottom four and it is about them getting

:43:30. > :43:34.their best form together to make sure they go at the middle eights as

:43:35. > :43:37.hard as they can. The hottest ticket in Wakefield on Saturday night was

:43:38. > :43:42.for Bellevue were Trinity were looking for a seventh consecutive

:43:43. > :43:49.Super League win. Their opponents with a Leeds Rhinos.

:43:50. > :44:11.It has been all Rhinos so far in the early stages. McGuire. Kicked to the

:44:12. > :44:18.corner, has he got the cars to get away? He certainly has. He is

:44:19. > :44:23.flying. He is being chased down but he will not be caught. They lights

:44:24. > :44:37.up Bellevue with another sensational score. Then. Buoyed by that drive.

:44:38. > :44:46.Kyle Wood goes for the corner. Has he got it down? I think he did.

:44:47. > :44:50.McGuire. He will test the mettle of this Wakefield line. Gets it away to

:44:51. > :45:03.Stevie Ward. He crosses for the Rhinos. We have seen this all

:45:04. > :45:09.season. McGuire. Takes on the line and he skipped past the tackle.

:45:10. > :45:20.Watkins goes it alone. Fiennes Briscoe, he will take on the

:45:21. > :45:29.defence. That is really good try. Carried on running with it. Back to

:45:30. > :45:38.Ferris. There goes Ward, along the line. Watkins has support from Tom

:45:39. > :45:51.Briscoe. Try number two. Cuthbertson. To McGuire. There were

:45:52. > :46:05.two players there. Leeds extend the lead. Williams takes on the line.

:46:06. > :46:12.That makes things interesting but it might not be enough.

:46:13. > :46:20.What do you make of their form? It is a good turnaround. If you

:46:21. > :46:23.wondered if they could win the competition, you would say no

:46:24. > :46:28.chance. I think one of the reasons for that has been the movement of

:46:29. > :46:37.him into the half with Danny McGuire. They have some big

:46:38. > :46:44.forwards. Castleford beat them in the millennium weekend. I thought

:46:45. > :46:54.they were gritty. Wakefield had a great run in. They put that defeat

:46:55. > :47:01.down to individual errors. Wakefield have been playing, the majority of

:47:02. > :47:08.their players, superb. That ended on Saturday night. They got beaten by

:47:09. > :47:18.two points. Full of confidence, playing really well. Leeds are

:47:19. > :47:19.difficult to handle. The quarterfinal, not, that is a massive

:47:20. > :47:42.tie. Here is the result. Castleford are

:47:43. > :47:48.six points clear, Hull move across -- move above Wakefield. The Giants

:47:49. > :47:56.face Saint Helens. That is on Friday. That is it for this week, my

:47:57. > :47:59.thanks to Jamie and Michael for joining us, live coverage of the

:48:00. > :48:02.Challenge Cup quarterfinals of the weekend and the league show will be

:48:03. > :48:05.back in a. Goodbye.
