:00:39. > :00:44.Hello and welcome to the DW Stadium where we are about to see the two
:00:45. > :00:49.worlds of rugby league collide, it is the Super League champions versus
:00:50. > :00:50.the best from Australia, working against Canada in the World Cup
:00:51. > :01:38.challenge. Amazing saves. Wigan are the
:01:39. > :01:42.champions. Joining us here we have Mitch Brown who strutted his time at
:01:43. > :01:48.Cronulla Sharks more than other years this field is very much like
:01:49. > :01:53.the English game trying to push itself against the Australian game.
:01:54. > :01:59.There has been a lot of scrutiny. It is tough to travel here and play
:02:00. > :02:03.this game. It is a fabulous fixture. On the back of the tri- Nations last
:02:04. > :02:08.year when we didn't do well, I suspect a lot of people are saying
:02:09. > :02:11.is there any credibility in the game? I love the concept and we
:02:12. > :02:16.should build on it and not throw it away. Krul winning last year, what
:02:17. > :02:24.was that like back home? 49 years they have waited for that. I am a
:02:25. > :02:31.shy boy, we all live in the Shire. We breathe it. The Shire was buzzing
:02:32. > :02:42.for a week or two. Everyone was still chanting the sun. How good for
:02:43. > :02:46.the NRL to have a new champion? For the past years it has been the same
:02:47. > :02:50.team is winning. The Roosters have been so dominant so it was nice to
:02:51. > :02:57.see the underdogs getting their first shot. Wigan are very focused
:02:58. > :03:05.on this. They talked about it on the pitch when they won the Grand Final.
:03:06. > :03:15.I fancy wedding. You look at the quality in the Cronulla Sharks. The
:03:16. > :03:20.way they approach the game, Wigan not taking a step backward, we will
:03:21. > :03:28.have a fantastic afternoon. Who will call themselves the world champions?
:03:29. > :03:35.Will it be Wigan or Cronulla? They talk in these parts of the Wigan win
:03:36. > :03:42.in 1987 and winning in Brisbane in 1994. Is this going to be another of
:03:43. > :03:46.those I was there moments? Will the NRL champions of Cronulla come up
:03:47. > :03:56.trumps? They have their own fairy tale to tell, of course. Wigan just
:03:57. > :04:07.probing here. Bateman on a familiar path. Just about ten yards to cover
:04:08. > :04:11.here. They are putting a lot of pressure on this defence. It is
:04:12. > :04:18.Burgess with a flying finish in the opening three minutes. They are
:04:19. > :04:25.having a look at this again. He thinks it is a drive. What about the
:04:26. > :04:31.grounding? Was touch and issue? He is in mid air, nothing wrong with
:04:32. > :04:35.the feed. Forget the flag. I think he has put this down millimetres
:04:36. > :04:46.before his finger hits the ground. The try is given. What they stood
:04:47. > :04:54.for Wigan and Joe Burgess. Townsend under a lot of pressure here is
:04:55. > :05:02.Cronulla, it forward. -- hammer it forward. Back it goes. So, it is a
:05:03. > :05:07.big kick. Lewis catches and scores. Simple enough. A great kick.
:05:08. > :05:16.Cronulla with a response. They are having a look again here. No try.
:05:17. > :05:21.Can you check for an on-site player? If you look in the bottom right, the
:05:22. > :05:27.winner is ahead of the cake. The question is does he get within ten
:05:28. > :05:34.metres? He might be. He is not interfering in play at all. But it
:05:35. > :05:37.is no try. Root out on a technicality. It is a hard one to
:05:38. > :05:55.take. Powell goes running away. It is
:05:56. > :06:06.Burgess. Back on the inside. It is tried number 24 Burgess. -- try
:06:07. > :06:09.number two four Burgess. Within lead 8-0. Great build-up, great centre
:06:10. > :06:25.plate and a finish from a man with a reputation. It is reputation that is
:06:26. > :06:30.being built up. He rattled his man there, but he has been left on the
:06:31. > :06:45.ground. He is clearly hurt, but Cronulla carry on. It is relentless.
:06:46. > :06:58.That is delegate from Maloney. He thinks no try. There is no touch in
:06:59. > :07:09.mid I don't think. Could kick well reaches and reaches. Oh my word, but
:07:10. > :07:10.is close. It is very close. It is no try. The referee said no try. It has
:07:11. > :07:29.been upheld. Working with some defending to do
:07:30. > :07:37.again. They are on the six. Maloney goes out wide. Neat inside ball. A
:07:38. > :07:43.little chip toward the corner. Droplet underneath the sticks. An
:07:44. > :07:51.adventurous bit of play. There is little else he could do. So, Wigan
:07:52. > :07:54.remain under the pump here. You can feel the nervousness around the
:07:55. > :07:59.stadium because the local fans know there are side are under pressure
:08:00. > :08:08.here. The former in the international. Brown. For more
:08:09. > :08:22.tackles. For more tackles for Wigan to withstand. Cronulla posing
:08:23. > :08:33.problems. Here is Brown again. They have a bit of space here. Wigan back
:08:34. > :08:40.on their own line again. Cronulla with all their pedigree. They have
:08:41. > :08:43.lost the ball. The ball is spilled. Wigan survive again. Wonderful
:08:44. > :08:54.defensive effort they are putting in. They are just not giving
:08:55. > :09:01.Cronulla and a room to manoeuvre. Wigan stretching it forward. The
:09:02. > :09:08.youngster is making his mark today on this big stage. Powell again.
:09:09. > :09:13.Short and Flood and Tompkins keeps it alive. Escare is alert. Picks up
:09:14. > :09:22.and scuppers. Goes out searching to the left-hand side. Oliver, a World
:09:23. > :09:30.Club Challenge here just like his dad was 30 years ago. They tried
:09:31. > :09:39.that put Wigan in a real comfort zone now. Full marks to Escare.
:09:40. > :09:50.Picking it up, nothing on, he went in search of something. The
:09:51. > :10:00.Frenchman is having a really good game here like most of the Wigan
:10:01. > :10:04.players are. A good finish. The Australian comedian looking on. Not
:10:05. > :10:10.too much to laugh about at the moment from an astringent pointedly.
:10:11. > :10:20.Within leading by 16-0. -- Wigan leading. Maloney puts it back. They
:10:21. > :10:28.have got support here from Bede and being trickles 13. It is a try.
:10:29. > :10:34.Jesse Reimann. On the hour mark, we knew there would be a response.
:10:35. > :10:39.Cronulla have provided it. Is this the start of the chargeback? A
:10:40. > :10:41.delicate little click here from Bede. Wonderfully placed. Reimann
:10:42. > :10:58.slides in. That would put the wind in the seals
:10:59. > :11:05.of the Cronulla Sharks. They shuffle and run forward. Maloney. Looking
:11:06. > :11:15.for what is out there. He off-loads. A penalty. Penalty for Wigan. Out of
:11:16. > :11:18.the tackle, the referee says. Wigan get people back. I'm not sure of the
:11:19. > :11:29.boat was granted but Wigan are not going to complain. Flanagan clearly
:11:30. > :11:34.unhappy. Time running out, Wigan on the verge of an historic win. I
:11:35. > :11:38.don't think there is enough tide left in the game for Cronulla to
:11:39. > :11:43.score twice and that is what they would have to do an Wigan running
:11:44. > :11:49.the clock down. Another try here would make absolutely certain is
:11:50. > :11:53.Bateman is held up just short. You can feel it around the stadium. They
:11:54. > :12:00.know, they know how close Wigan are now will stop it is Maloney. The
:12:01. > :12:10.referee says he was played out. That will be bad. Celebrations up there.
:12:11. > :12:16.Wigan now know, the Wigan fans now know, they are world champions. Just
:12:17. > :12:28.a matter of running the clock to a final. Farrell takes it in. It is
:12:29. > :12:34.thunderous and the DW Stadium. Wigan go left, Williams with a kick,
:12:35. > :12:44.Burgess. It might be a hat-trick to finish it in style. Robert Hicks
:12:45. > :12:48.wants another look. It hardly matters in one respect, because
:12:49. > :12:52.Wigan have won it anyway, but Burgess would love a hat-trick. He
:12:53. > :12:57.was on-site and I think he might just have got there, little finger
:12:58. > :13:04.first, try given. What a finish, what a game and what a story for the
:13:05. > :13:13.Wigan Wanderers. They have one the world title and Super League can
:13:14. > :13:20.puff of its chest again. Terrific. I am proud of them. It is all the
:13:21. > :13:29.coaching staff, the players have so much desire, so much guts and
:13:30. > :13:31.determination. How does it sound being world club champions?
:13:32. > :13:38.Unbelievable. Another dream has come true. We had to provide for
:13:39. > :13:41.ourselves and the Super League. We have the four trophies we can get
:13:42. > :13:48.this year. We will drag the next three. To do it in the style we have
:13:49. > :13:53.done is special. It is special for us. He missed out last year because
:13:54. > :13:59.you were away doing something else, to come back and be proud of that,
:14:00. > :14:06.how special for you? Very special. My first bit of silverware, it is
:14:07. > :14:11.very memorable. I think I might take the game ball home and frame that
:14:12. > :14:15.one. It was a good, physical game and the better team won. They played
:14:16. > :14:20.well, they played tough and they took their opportunities. We had a
:14:21. > :14:24.few decisions go against us, but it wouldn't have made a difference to
:14:25. > :14:32.the outcome. How impressed wordy with the defence of your team? We
:14:33. > :14:36.did too magic defending. The way we played, I am just trying to enjoy
:14:37. > :14:41.the victory. We showed some desire, but we did too much in our half. I
:14:42. > :14:46.will enjoy the victory. Trying to stay positive. Sean O'Loughlin
:14:47. > :14:53.collecting the trophy that means the world to the Wigan Warriors. Get in
:14:54. > :15:01.there his team-mates. Wigan have lifted it, Wigan the 2017 world
:15:02. > :15:06.champions. What a victory for Wigan. How impressed wordy with that
:15:07. > :15:10.performance question very impressed. They had a lot more of the ball in
:15:11. > :15:13.the second half. We saw the defensive prowess of Wigan. They
:15:14. > :15:18.threw everything out there. They thoroughly deserved the win. It
:15:19. > :15:23.should want a good team they are. What a shot in the arm that we are
:15:24. > :15:26.the world club champions. It does hurt as Australians, but very well
:15:27. > :15:31.deserved. They played much better. They completed a lot more sets and I
:15:32. > :15:36.think they were much more clinical. Joe Burgess are back with a bang at
:15:37. > :15:42.Wigan. He was. He has shown some form since he has been back here. He
:15:43. > :15:48.is very hard to stop. His finishing was outstanding. He is looking for a
:15:49. > :15:52.big year ahead. Who else would you pick out from the Wigan performance,
:15:53. > :15:58.or was it the unit that impressed? You have to be a good team to beat
:15:59. > :16:01.Cronulla. Everyone stood up. It started with John Locke and Sean
:16:02. > :16:06.prowess around the middle. George Williams was good again. Escare was
:16:07. > :16:14.good at the back. A really good team effort. How much will this third
:16:15. > :16:17.Cronulla to have lost it? They were pretty emotional. It really hurts
:16:18. > :16:23.the boys. They want to win and they came a long way forward. They won't
:16:24. > :16:28.let this hold them back for the rest of the year. They will get back.
:16:29. > :16:33.They are flying out tomorrow and they will be concentrating against
:16:34. > :16:38.the Broncos. There was one of the game in the world club series this
:16:39. > :16:43.year. It was Warrington against Brisbane and watching was Stewart
:16:44. > :16:48.Pike. A big weekend for Super League and the British game. From
:16:49. > :16:59.Warrington, no Stefan Ratchford were Ben Currie. Adam Blair, the absentee
:17:00. > :17:03.for the Brisbane Broncos. Now, Tony Smith spoken all week about making a
:17:04. > :17:09.strong start. Brisbane with the first opportunity inside the opening
:17:10. > :17:14.couple of minutes here at the Halliwell Jones. They can suck down
:17:15. > :17:19.and it is Westerman. Westerman charges down. Then hand, has he got
:17:20. > :17:26.the legs? Joe Westerman, I don't think he has. He brings him down
:17:27. > :17:31.just short of the line. Gavin Brown, lovely. What a start. Warrington
:17:32. > :17:48.ahead. Less than two minutes on the clock. Gavin Brown on his debut, a
:17:49. > :17:55.memorable try. It is going really well for the Wolves. Brisbane, you
:17:56. > :18:04.have two say, very much on the back foot. That is the penalty. It was
:18:05. > :18:10.Gilette not letting Jack Hughes get up and play the ball. Surely, Declan
:18:11. > :18:30.pattern will take the opportunity here. No trouble at all. Warrington
:18:31. > :18:37.Leadgate- zero. -- Leadgate- zero. At the moment, Brisbane do not know
:18:38. > :18:46.what has had them. Adkins wriggles out of the tackle. Two tries in 12
:18:47. > :18:55.minutes. Warrington in dreamland. Brown involved again. Try scorer,
:18:56. > :19:00.now try maker. If ever there was a perfect game plan, this is it, you
:19:01. > :19:07.have to say. Here they come again, Clark. Lovely hands. Gidley finds
:19:08. > :19:13.Russell on wing. Still going. Matty Russell, this is quite incredible.
:19:14. > :19:21.It is a point a minute for a Warrington and Brisbane are being
:19:22. > :19:26.blitzed. He feel they have two score next, the Brisbane Broncos. Here is
:19:27. > :19:34.McCullough. That is a good little chip over the top. No Milford. Going
:19:35. > :19:42.for the corner. They are on the board. Cory Oates with the try. Much
:19:43. > :19:49.needed for Brisbane. It took an audacious bit of skill to get the
:19:50. > :19:52.Broncos on the board. McCullough with the kick, it was Kaku, then
:19:53. > :20:03.look at this from Milford. A lovely pass. A fabulous finish. Well, they
:20:04. > :20:10.have been pretty much perfect in this first. 100% completion rate, no
:20:11. > :20:20.auroras. Deservedly in front. Here is Adkins now. Stop just short. One
:20:21. > :20:27.of the three try scorers. Line in went on the blindside. Now Ben Hunt,
:20:28. > :20:37.has he made the tackle? Phil Benson, he reckons that he got the ball
:20:38. > :20:42.down. That it look at this. With momentum carrying him forward, the
:20:43. > :20:46.ball touched the line. It did. A massive moment for Warrington on the
:20:47. > :20:52.stroke of half-time. Chris Evans celebrating with the rest. Wonderful
:20:53. > :20:59.first-half performance from the Warrington Wolves. Whatever Brisbane
:21:00. > :21:03.got to offer? Roberts, Robert Stephens said. Now, can anybody
:21:04. > :21:09.catch on? James Roberts, it looks like he will build 90 yards. What a
:21:10. > :21:14.trite this will be from Roberts. Sensational scorer for the Brisbane
:21:15. > :21:23.Broncos. Rhys Evans did his very, very best, but no one was going to
:21:24. > :21:28.catch Roberts. Now, Brisbane still very much in this. But try from
:21:29. > :21:35.Roberts just putting a different complexion on things. Warrington not
:21:36. > :21:40.afraid to move the ball around and here is Evans. Russell does really
:21:41. > :21:43.well, he just got bored. Russell against the full-back, a brilliant
:21:44. > :21:57.tackle from the Brisbane captain, Darius Boyd. Was that an error? The
:21:58. > :22:01.referee will say he called. Hang on a minute, Gidley and McCullough
:22:02. > :22:08.involved, now everybody is getting involved. Tempers are getting
:22:09. > :22:16.frayed. We don't mind it getting a little bit tasty.
:22:17. > :22:29.It is -- Phil Bentham waiting for things to settle down. Not too much
:22:30. > :22:39.to it. A bit of fire and brimstone in the world club series. He was
:22:40. > :22:55.initially involve their with Gidley. Gidley and Roberts. -- McCulloch.
:22:56. > :23:02.Here come the Broncos again. Great tackle from Russell, what a game he
:23:03. > :23:08.has had. If Brisbane can score next, it certainly is game on. Maguire
:23:09. > :23:15.brought down by Cooper. It is sent wide again. That was a bad pass and
:23:16. > :23:22.Mead could not pick it up. Another mistake by Brisbane. Kevin Brown and
:23:23. > :23:31.the winger David Mead. It is kicking off again. Getting tasty, isn't it?
:23:32. > :23:39.Roberts came steaming in from nowhere and that did not help. Phil
:23:40. > :23:50.Bentham just being patient. You can see how much it means. Initially
:23:51. > :23:55.Brown and Mead, nothing much in it first of all, that is when the
:23:56. > :24:03.trouble started when Roberts came steaming in and got everyone else
:24:04. > :24:12.involved. I am not having that. Good work by the referee, telling the
:24:13. > :24:20.captains to cool it. Fabulous entertainment here. Good thinking.
:24:21. > :24:30.Declan Patton with the dropped goal. It now means of course that Brisbane
:24:31. > :24:36.have to score three times. Clark and Sims, what a game he has had as
:24:37. > :24:42.well, Mike Cooper. He wins the penalty. Maguire is fuming but he
:24:43. > :24:55.cannot have too many complaints about that. He held on to long. He
:24:56. > :25:00.has not done much wrong tonight, Patton, really cemented his place in
:25:01. > :25:07.the first team. Time running out for Brisbane. Here is McGuire, running
:25:08. > :25:13.the ball across the line, a big ask now with time running out, little
:25:14. > :25:20.kick through, but that is our mistake, that is a try for Mead.
:25:21. > :25:27.Phil Bentham, well ask the video referee to have another look but
:25:28. > :25:29.surely no doubt. 82 macro was in two minds on whether to hold on to the
:25:30. > :25:52.ball or a tap it dead -- Tom Lynam. Warrington were 6-1 outsiders before
:25:53. > :26:01.the start of this game. It is a memorable night for the Warrington
:26:02. > :26:07.Wolves. Over 12,000 here at the stadium and this will live long in
:26:08. > :26:14.the memory. Strike one for Warrington, strike one for Super
:26:15. > :26:20.League. Warrington looked like a team possess last night. They came
:26:21. > :26:27.out of the blocks well. There are ball control and everything was
:26:28. > :26:33.great. Was it a different kind of Warrington, a more direct style? A
:26:34. > :26:37.little bit. I thought Cooper and Sims started strong and they had no
:26:38. > :26:42.trouble getting out of their own half which took the pressure away.
:26:43. > :26:45.They competed really well, they were disciplined and very direct and
:26:46. > :26:48.maybe the influence of Kevin Brown kicking them around the field had a
:26:49. > :26:53.positive effect. I think they were slightly different but with the same
:26:54. > :26:57.player at times. How impressed were you with Kevin Brown on his debut? I
:26:58. > :27:07.thought he played fantastically well. The whole team was really
:27:08. > :27:14.good. I noticed a big difference, so many great tackles. They really got
:27:15. > :27:19.the forwards going forward. 2-0 to the Super League, how much did Super
:27:20. > :27:24.League need that? There has been a lot of scrutiny about the games. It
:27:25. > :27:31.is great that it is 2-0 and a lot of us who believe in it, we have to
:27:32. > :27:36.start making our own decisions. I suppose our measurement, our
:27:37. > :27:40.critical drive has been that we are 2-0 up but we need to build on it
:27:41. > :27:45.and it is an believably good concept and we would like to see more of it.
:27:46. > :27:51.Will the NRL be smarting? I think they will. When you play England or
:27:52. > :27:56.any team from England you always want to get one up on them and I am
:27:57. > :28:04.sure it is the same here. It is good for Super League, it will give them
:28:05. > :28:08.the go forward they are looking for. Wayne Bennett was here with the
:28:09. > :28:11.Brisbane Broncos but later in the year he will be leading a glint in
:28:12. > :28:16.the World Cup. Dave Woods caught up with them and found he was still
:28:17. > :28:21.smarting from losing their four nations.
:28:22. > :28:25.It is intercepted and this manner will take some stopping. Johnson is
:28:26. > :28:39.final and we were not. We could not have played with more passion or
:28:40. > :28:44.more effort. We have to be smarter and more disciplined and I think we
:28:45. > :28:49.can be that. That is part of the journey. Try and change that
:28:50. > :28:52.behaviour. The plan was to have a training camp in Dubai at the start
:28:53. > :28:56.of the year and it was cancelled. How does that affect preparations?
:28:57. > :29:01.It will have an impact but not a major one. It would be good for
:29:02. > :29:04.them, they would need it, but we could not get the cooperation from
:29:05. > :29:08.some of the clubs and we did not want to compromise but we were
:29:09. > :29:12.doing. It is difficult with the breakdown in communication with the
:29:13. > :29:17.coaches. We had a good meeting last night and I am pleased with how it
:29:18. > :29:26.went. I blame no one else but myself for the breakdown in communications.
:29:27. > :29:32.We repaired some of the damage. We are moving on. Some of the Super
:29:33. > :29:39.League coaches have criticised the fixtures. How does that sit with you
:29:40. > :29:44.as England coach? It is what it is, you have to not worry about it.
:29:45. > :29:47.Continually complaining about it and making an issue, it does not give
:29:48. > :29:53.your players an opportunity to make excuses. They were already beaten
:29:54. > :29:57.before they go into the field. The coaches say it is too hard and it
:29:58. > :30:02.should not be happening. I try to avoid it as much as I can. Accept
:30:03. > :30:06.what it is and move on. Wayne Bennett talking a lot about
:30:07. > :30:10.self-belief, he talked about it at the end of the four nations and it
:30:11. > :30:16.sounds really easy to get a team to believe but how do you go about
:30:17. > :30:20.doing it. His track record suggests he is good at that. He identified a
:30:21. > :30:23.couple of things and I think that is why he wanted their camp. He is
:30:24. > :30:29.talking about little elements of intensity. I think the decent thing
:30:30. > :30:32.he has done is culturally I think he understands a little bit better what
:30:33. > :30:37.the Super League is about than what he will have to do. For me, he has
:30:38. > :30:41.to take the best team he can at the end of the year and a bit of extra
:30:42. > :30:45.work might not be in his best interest, but I think you will be
:30:46. > :30:49.picking the right people. He has also taken the blame for the fact
:30:50. > :30:53.that the camp was cancelled saying he perhaps did not communicate
:30:54. > :30:56.enough and he has met with the coaches and how important is that
:30:57. > :31:04.for England going forward? Massively so. The coaches know who is playing
:31:05. > :31:09.well. He has to laze with them and get their views and opinions as to
:31:10. > :31:13.who they think is playing well. Clearly, he has to make his own
:31:14. > :31:16.decisions as well in relation to who is playing well, but picking the
:31:17. > :31:20.right people, picking the right balance and team is massively
:31:21. > :31:25.important and he needs the best information. How much do you think
:31:26. > :31:28.that England need to build on what Super League does, maybe when they
:31:29. > :31:33.come together as England, we start playing to -- start trying to play
:31:34. > :31:38.lead Australia. Everyone does a lot of video these days. It is about
:31:39. > :31:44.trying to work to your strengths and their weaknesses. They need to think
:31:45. > :31:51.about their own back garden and you can see that the Australian struggle
:31:52. > :31:54.with that sort of play over here. Maybe keep to your own strengths and
:31:55. > :31:58.go forward with that. The World Cup is for the end of the year and there
:31:59. > :32:05.were a couple of Super League games this week starting with Huddersfield
:32:06. > :32:09.against Salford on Thursday night. Hinchcliffe, looking to get out of
:32:10. > :32:12.the dummy half position as quickly as he can and Lawrence will bring it
:32:13. > :32:16.back to the middle and they have given themselves an excellent
:32:17. > :32:24.position here. Looking to respond to that early Salford penalty. Danny
:32:25. > :32:30.broth. Get it away to Hinchcliffe and he has space on the right hand
:32:31. > :32:35.side. McGillvary has scored. You give him that much space and he will
:32:36. > :32:49.not waste it. Another good strong finish by the winger. Tomkins. Solid
:32:50. > :32:57.effort. Tomkins rose in at dummy half again. Back at by Dobson and
:32:58. > :33:01.they have that number is here again, Junior Sa'u ripping through that
:33:02. > :33:07.Huddersfield defence. They will be disappointed but that, Huddersfield.
:33:08. > :33:15.They are not and neither is he. Jones. Searching down the blindside
:33:16. > :33:23.and getting a bit of space here for Johnson to go flying away with a
:33:24. > :33:34.step on the in. -- inside. Good work by Danny broth making the tackle. --
:33:35. > :33:39.Danny Brough. He is in front of him as well. Forward pass. He has got a
:33:40. > :33:54.penalty. He is not the only one who is confused. Dobson. Stepped by
:33:55. > :33:59.Junior Sa'u. Lost it. Penalty. And at the end of this low scoring half,
:34:00. > :34:08.Salford are going to go for the two points here. It seemed fairly clear
:34:09. > :34:13.that Ryan Brierley got the ball. Gareth O'Brien with what might just
:34:14. > :34:23.be the final kick of this first half. And he has headed superbly
:34:24. > :34:30.well. Salford leading by ten points. -- hit. Josh Ward is on the field in
:34:31. > :34:36.the dummy half position. It is a 40-20 I think. He silenced the home
:34:37. > :34:47.crowd. Right behind the 40 metre mark, no doubts about it, absolutely
:34:48. > :34:51.no doubts. Wood, Robert Louis, slips away, what started the second half
:34:52. > :35:09.for Salford, the opening minute and Gareth O'Brien is in to score. He
:35:10. > :35:18.has looked sharp as a tack. Gaskell waits at dummy half. Desperate for a
:35:19. > :35:24.response. Looking wide. Mellor! Well, they needed something quickly
:35:25. > :35:33.after a bonus try and Mellor is the man to provide it. Game on. 55-macro
:35:34. > :35:41.again, searching down the blindside, cannot find anything that gets away
:35:42. > :35:47.from Dobson -- Leeming. He has taken it within striking range. Ryan
:35:48. > :35:52.Brierley at dummy half. City has got a second, two tries from him in just
:35:53. > :36:07.three minutes and Huddersfield are racing back into contention now.
:36:08. > :36:12.Tomkins. Robert Lu off the left foot, banging them away. Put it on
:36:13. > :36:20.his back eventually, sixth tackle, where does this go, out to Dobson.
:36:21. > :36:27.Gareth O'Brien. His second try of the game. And that stems the tide
:36:28. > :36:39.that was running against them. Leeming. There is no way through for
:36:40. > :36:43.a Mellor on that occasion, 11 minutes of the game remaining, a
:36:44. > :36:55.couple of scores in arrears and they need something quickly and they
:36:56. > :36:59.might have it here. Ta'ai reaching them. They are looking for the
:37:00. > :37:07.double movement. Momentum and at full speed, and it is given. Given
:37:08. > :37:23.by the video referee. Ukuma Ta ai with the try. Tomkins. Lui. Here is
:37:24. > :37:31.Josh Jones. Bounces off one, Sam Rapira is in again. Josh Jones is
:37:32. > :37:34.still going. I think he is in. There was absolutely nothing on when he
:37:35. > :37:40.got the ball. He has beaten Sam Rapira twice and beaten and other
:37:41. > :37:48.four again as well. He is bouncing around and has the determination to
:37:49. > :37:58.get in and score the try. Tomkins. Tackles from the offside position by
:37:59. > :38:01.Michael Lawrence. This should just about settle things here, only
:38:02. > :38:09.another couple of minutes left to play. That is spot on, seven goals
:38:10. > :38:13.on the night for Gareth O'Brien and two tries and Salford are the
:38:14. > :38:18.winners. You were at that game on Thursday night, how impressed were
:38:19. > :38:22.you with Salford? Very impressed. You can see they are clear unit and
:38:23. > :38:27.with the drama at the end of the season last year when it does manage
:38:28. > :38:32.to stay in the division. The effort from Joss Jones at the end was
:38:33. > :38:38.massive. Todd Carney is here, what can he bring to Salford? He is a
:38:39. > :38:42.winner. Every team he plays with, he brings that a winning culture with
:38:43. > :38:46.him. He is a fantastic player, he has so much skill, he has had a
:38:47. > :38:50.little bit of time off and I am sure he will come back fighting.
:38:51. > :38:56.Huddersfield brought in a lot of new players, will take awhile to get
:38:57. > :39:02.consistency? I think it will. They had a good start to the season but
:39:03. > :39:07.fell off the horse the night before, it might take a while for them to
:39:08. > :39:13.get into the swing of things. Ukuma Ta ai, he went really well. This
:39:14. > :39:17.time last year, Leeds were in the World Club Challenge and instead
:39:18. > :39:25.this time they were taking on Mitch Brown and the lease and Gerry Adams.
:39:26. > :39:38.They have waited a long time for this -- they were taking on 50 70.
:39:39. > :39:51.-- Leigh Centurions. That is! The captain, crushing defeat on the
:39:52. > :39:56.opening night, Castleford really hurt Leigh Centurions and their
:39:57. > :40:02.coach was adamant that there would be an improvement. What a pass from
:40:03. > :40:15.Drinkwater. Matty Dawson, four minutes on the clock and Leigh
:40:16. > :40:18.Centurions hit the front. The boss of Leigh Centurions wanted a
:40:19. > :40:32.response and he got one. The Rhinos are on the back foot. But of course
:40:33. > :40:39.by Saints. Only 6-41 week ago. Here is Pelissier. Is that a try? Mitch
:40:40. > :40:50.Brown. Young Reynolds on his debut, what a pass. What a start for Leigh
:40:51. > :41:01.Centurions. It has been a real struggle so far for Leeds Rhinos.
:41:02. > :41:06.Parcell. Cuthbertson has only just come on, with his first touch of the
:41:07. > :41:13.ball, here is Parcell. Cuthberts on with his second touch of the ball
:41:14. > :41:23.puts Leeds on the board. It is Adam Cuthbertson. It was 8-0 256 macro in
:41:24. > :41:32.seven minutes and here come the Rhinos with Parcell, surely another
:41:33. > :41:41.score -- Leigh Centurions. It is two tries in two minutes for the Leeds
:41:42. > :41:48.Rhinos. Dominant at the moment, Leeds. After that fantastic start
:41:49. > :41:52.from Leigh Centurions at Adam Cuthbertson has made such a
:41:53. > :42:00.difference. Rob Burrow, picked up by Jimmy Keinhorst. Is that a try? The
:42:01. > :42:03.ball has gone backwards, the referee says play on, maybe not, Josh
:42:04. > :42:09.Walters. That was a forward pass, I think. I think Jack Smith, the
:42:10. > :42:20.referee is going to look at this. Jimmy Keinhorst thinks he got the
:42:21. > :42:25.ball down. The referee disagrees. They will look at this. That is a
:42:26. > :42:33.try. Jimmy Keinhorst surely has scored and indeed he has. Leeds
:42:34. > :42:38.stretched their advantage. The Rhinos have turned this around.
:42:39. > :42:44.There is the Guta and the dropped goal attempt and Liam Sutcliffe,
:42:45. > :42:47.right on the stroke of half-time, how important will prove to be? A
:42:48. > :43:03.7-point advantage for Leeds. Leigh Centurions desperate to start
:43:04. > :43:06.the second half as they did the first. Opportunity here for the
:43:07. > :43:16.Rhinos. Walters has been brought down. A penalty right in front of
:43:17. > :43:19.the post. Vea, the guilty man. The Leigh Centurions fans are not happy
:43:20. > :43:29.but they cannot have too many complaints about that. And there we
:43:30. > :43:36.have it. 17 unanswered points for the Leeds Rhinos to take control
:43:37. > :43:41.here at Leigh Sports Village. There is still time. That's for sure, 12
:43:42. > :43:47.minutes on the clock. They have got to score twice. Here is Ben Crookes.
:43:48. > :43:59.Lovely little side step and he is over. From absolutely nowhere. Ben
:44:00. > :44:10.Crookes with the try and the owner with his old friend. What a finish
:44:11. > :44:18.in store here now. Four minutes to go as Cory Paterson is brought down.
:44:19. > :44:24.It is all Leigh Centurions. Pelissier. There is Willie Tonga,
:44:25. > :44:33.the volume goes up, the crowd getting behind the home side.
:44:34. > :44:42.Teasing kick. Here is Reynolds. He cannot get the ball out. It was a
:44:43. > :44:50.walk in for Ben Crookes if he had. Incredible finale. Vea, but what a
:44:51. > :44:57.tackle from Jimmy Keinhorst. It is a match-winning tackle, surely. Well,
:44:58. > :45:06.disappointment for Leigh Centurions. A great performance but a first win
:45:07. > :45:10.for the Leeds Rhinos. So close but yet so far for you guys. We are
:45:11. > :45:15.still looking for that elusive first win in Super League, but we came a
:45:16. > :45:20.long way from last week, we worked on what we wanted to work on, but we
:45:21. > :45:29.got so close, just those few missed opportunities and hopefully it will
:45:30. > :45:38.come next week. We are still working on combinations, we have had a first
:45:39. > :45:42.few changes. Our captain should be coming back this week. We are going
:45:43. > :45:46.to work on ourselves and hopefully get our first win soon. How
:45:47. > :45:54.important for your confidence back you show such a big improvement? We
:45:55. > :45:58.spoke about it last year. It is such a different competition that it is
:45:59. > :46:02.in the Super League. We spoke about things we could get away with last
:46:03. > :46:09.year that will not happen this year, there are such quality teams. The
:46:10. > :46:16.quality has gone up so much in Super League. We will have to be on our
:46:17. > :46:21.toes each week. Having some consistency is the key. Will it be
:46:22. > :46:26.relief for Leeds Rhinos to have got a win so early on? I think so. I
:46:27. > :46:31.think their coach even mentioned they have to improve in the
:46:32. > :46:38.point-scoring department, but you can see the scramble and desire.
:46:39. > :46:43.That is it for us here at Wigan. We will be back in the studio next week
:46:44. > :46:47.for all the highlight around the Super League. Join us on Monday
:46:48. > :46:55.night in the north or at one o'clock on Tuesday lunchtime on the BC2.
:46:56. > :46:59.What a great weekend it has been for Super League and many
:47:00. > :47:03.congratulations to Wigan who are the world club champions for 2017. From
:47:04. > :47:14.all of us here, goodbye.
