:00:36. > :00:39.Hello, it's only Round 2 of Super League so we're

:00:40. > :00:43.a long way off prize time, but we've had the BAFTAs,

:00:44. > :00:45.the Brits and the Oscars, so these are the Rugby league

:00:46. > :01:00.COMMENTATOR: What a tackle that was from Tommy Makinson!

:01:01. > :01:22.Great by Greg Bird, and Catalan move in front.

:01:23. > :01:43.STUDIO: We've opened the envelope and we're not sure if these

:01:44. > :01:46.are the right or the names, but Iestyn Harris and John Kear

:01:47. > :01:47.are this week's winners for best pundits.

:01:48. > :01:49.Iestyn, you've won a World Club Challenge,

:01:50. > :01:52.how big an achievement for Wigan was that?

:01:53. > :01:55.Huge achievement, and I think it's something that certainly Shaun Wane,

:01:56. > :01:58.the head coach there, has desperately wanted.

:01:59. > :02:02.They went over to Sydney and probably underperformed

:02:03. > :02:13.This was something he's been desperate for his team to go

:02:14. > :02:16.on and win and it was a brilliant performance, wasn't it, from them?

:02:17. > :02:23.To lift its Super League, as well, he'll be over the moon and the club

:02:24. > :02:25.should be absolutely ecstatic with what they've achieved.

:02:26. > :02:28.And when you add in what Warrington did to Brisbane,

:02:29. > :02:31.what is the feel-good factor, do you feel, across the sport now?

:02:32. > :02:34.I mean, it's been a real credit for the British game.

:02:35. > :02:37.I think it gives you confidence, it makes you feel good about yourself,

:02:38. > :02:40.it makes you feel good about your sport and it makes

:02:41. > :02:43.you feel good about your country, so it really has, it's been just

:02:44. > :02:47.The call from Tony Smith and Daryl Powell at the start

:02:48. > :02:49.of the season was for more entertaining rugby league.

:02:50. > :03:35.Their teams met on Friday night, so for Warrington

:03:36. > :03:37.An early-season meeting for two sides who love to entertain.

:03:38. > :03:39.Warrington on the back of their fabulous win against

:03:40. > :03:48.Castleford have had a week off, but they too relatively fresh

:03:49. > :03:54.Brown, such a wonderful debut last week against the Broncos.

:03:55. > :04:00.Warrington just taking up a very decent position here.

:04:01. > :04:08.Back to Kevin Brown, who will test them with the kick.

:04:09. > :04:12.Well, he's over and he's claiming it.

:04:13. > :04:17.He thinks it's a try on the field, but they're having

:04:18. > :04:23.No doubt there that Rhys Evans knocked that ball backwards.

:04:24. > :04:26.Might even have been a Castleford hand on that as well.

:04:27. > :04:30.A clean pick up by him, and the touchdown is good

:04:31. > :04:32.and this should be a try here for the Warrington Wolves,

:04:33. > :04:50.Castleford again getting within viewing distance

:04:51. > :05:00.Milner out of dummy half, going left.

:05:01. > :05:05.Suddenly there's gaps appearing here.

:05:06. > :05:07.It's a run for the line and Jesse Sene-Lefao

:05:08. > :05:24.So the restart from Warrington, as they look to settle

:05:25. > :05:26.that ship a little here, but Castleford looking

:05:27. > :05:40.Junior Moors testing out the resolve of that Warrington defence again.

:05:41. > :05:45.Millington's going to be swallowed up, can't get it away.

:05:46. > :05:57.Four tackles gone, Milner again, little bobble.

:05:58. > :06:00.Castleford with McMeeken, with a wonderful step for the big man.

:06:01. > :06:11.Castleford have just scored back-to-back tries!

:06:12. > :06:13.Wonderful play by McMeeken, and terrific support

:06:14. > :06:27.Castleford knocking on this door again.

:06:28. > :06:30.The pass from Rangi Chase has gone to ground.

:06:31. > :06:37.McMeeken can do no more than pick it up and rescue possession.

:06:38. > :06:54.Here's Greg Eden with a glimpse of the try line and it's all he needs.

:06:55. > :06:57.It's a third Castleford try, and I'd don't think Warrington

:06:58. > :07:02.have laid hands on ball since they conceded the first.

:07:03. > :07:06.So, Warrington desperate here to stem the flow,

:07:07. > :07:07.but Castleford have fire in their nostrils.

:07:08. > :07:18.And going from deep here through Hardaker,

:07:19. > :07:22.whose thrown away one defender and off he goes.

:07:23. > :07:31.It's four tries in a breathtaking sequence from the Castelford Tigers.

:07:32. > :07:39.They're absolutely ripping Warrington apart here.

:07:40. > :07:42.Well, they attack from all points of the field, including

:07:43. > :07:47.inside their own ten metres, and right from the kick of Hardaker,

:07:48. > :07:52.pumping downfield, and Gale on the inside to take the pass

:07:53. > :07:54.safely and never in doubt from that moment on.

:07:55. > :08:13.Support here, but Atkins well known in defence by Webster.

:08:14. > :08:19.Johnson to his feet, and from the blindside...

:08:20. > :08:27.Well, the referee wants another look, not surprisingly.

:08:28. > :08:32.Lineham pushing and barging, trying to catch that

:08:33. > :08:39.He has got that down, I think, and just what Warrington needed,

:08:40. > :08:47.Stuart Pearce, the fanatic these days of the Warrington Wolves,

:08:48. > :08:53.friends with the Warrington coach, Tony Smith.

:08:54. > :08:56.Here comes Evans now, with a chance to break.

:08:57. > :09:09.But Warrington sizing up the opportunity on that

:09:10. > :09:17.Holding the pass away for Lineham, to dive in and score!

:09:18. > :09:20.Well, they'll have to look at this again because he was very

:09:21. > :09:30.Video referee now looking on, and that looks perfectly fine

:09:31. > :09:32.for Tom Lineham's second try, and he has put Warrington

:09:33. > :09:34.right back in it now with his two scores,

:09:35. > :09:56.Castleford quite keen to keep this ball alive.

:09:57. > :09:59.Rangi Chase will have to take the tackle to Cooper

:10:00. > :10:01.and here comes Milner, ranging out of dummy half.

:10:02. > :10:04.Evans is across here to make the tackle.

:10:05. > :10:16.McMeeken straight out the cover of defenders and takes

:10:17. > :10:24.It started with a barnstorming run from Milner and is finished

:10:25. > :10:42.Ashton Sims put down but still four tackles to go here for Warrington,

:10:43. > :10:47.But they're dealt with by those Castleford defenders.

:10:48. > :11:00.Nine minutes to play and Warrington are back

:11:01. > :11:21.Milner's got time to decide where he's going with this,

:11:22. > :11:23.and he's going left to Gale and Gale brings in Hardaker.

:11:24. > :11:26.And here comes Eden to finish the job for Castleford.

:11:27. > :11:28.What a start to the season they're having.

:11:29. > :11:32.They're going to win this one now, surely, and it's going to be

:11:33. > :11:35.a second successive win, and in some style.

:11:36. > :11:39.Yes, how much did you enjoy watching that?

:11:40. > :11:40.It was brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

:11:41. > :11:42.It had absolutely everything, the game.

:11:43. > :11:48.The tries from everywhere, but the defensive side

:11:49. > :11:52.of the game as well, it was fierce, it was aggressive

:11:53. > :11:54.and there was very little between the two teams, actually.

:11:55. > :12:01.Just Castleford had a real sort of top spell in the first half

:12:02. > :12:03.of around ten minutes where they scored three

:12:04. > :12:06.or four tries, and that was the difference in the two teams.

:12:07. > :12:11.Warrington, second half were very, very aggressive.

:12:12. > :12:14.Let's have a look at that purple patch, because it was quite

:12:15. > :12:22.something, and it's not off-the-cuff, is it?

:12:23. > :12:25.You are looking at it going they've had two weeks to work all this out.

:12:26. > :12:28.Yeah, they'll have looked at how Warrington played against Brisbane

:12:29. > :12:30.in the previous game, and there will have identified

:12:31. > :12:32.certain areas they want to attack and certain point they want

:12:33. > :12:36.But what Castleford are really good at doing, their decision makers

:12:37. > :12:40.They decide which pass to lay on and they do play a bit

:12:41. > :12:43.of broken field staff, as well, when it the off-load, but

:12:44. > :12:46.I think Zak Hardaker has been a revelation playing fullback,

:12:47. > :12:50.There, the link to Greg Eden and big credit to Greg Eden,

:12:51. > :12:59.They'll have noticed Warrington were tight from the kick-off.

:13:00. > :13:01.They shifted it through skill through their back rower

:13:02. > :13:04.there and he just burns Rhys Evans in the Warrington defence, and Gale

:13:05. > :13:07.They were absolutely first-class tries, well coached,

:13:08. > :13:11.and even better executed by the guys who take to the field of play.

:13:12. > :13:14.When Zak Hardaker, he's playing with a smile on his face,

:13:15. > :13:17.no doubt about it, but defensively you knew what he could do.

:13:18. > :13:20.Are you excited by what they can add to his attacking play?

:13:21. > :13:22.Well, he wasn't bad in attack two years ago, was he?

:13:23. > :13:26.He won the Man of Steel, so there's an element of defence in fact,

:13:27. > :13:30.I think with Zak, it's just about giving him confidence.

:13:31. > :13:32.If he's got that confidence to play, he's got all

:13:33. > :13:36.Yes, you can tweak things and adjust things in his game,

:13:37. > :13:38.but give him confidence, he's got ability in abundance.

:13:39. > :13:41.It seems odd to say this given the Brisbane game,

:13:42. > :13:44.but that is two defeats on the bounce for Warrington.

:13:45. > :13:49.Despite the excellent performance against Brisbane,

:13:50. > :13:54.when obviously they won, then to back that up

:13:55. > :13:56.against probably the form team from the early season

:13:57. > :14:01.They backed it up pretty well against Castleford and it was fine

:14:02. > :14:03.margins that just meant that Warrington were eight

:14:04. > :14:05.points down this week, but next week they could play

:14:06. > :14:09.Castleford and go eight points up, so I don't think they'll be any

:14:10. > :14:10.element whatsoever of worry for Tony Smith.

:14:11. > :14:12.Obviously Kevin Brown is one of their signings

:14:13. > :14:14.who got all the headlines, but Andre Savelio,

:14:15. > :14:17.I know Brisbane were very impressed with him.

:14:18. > :14:26.I think you forget how young he is 20, 21.

:14:27. > :14:29.He's probably found a club now that maybe suits him.

:14:30. > :14:34.Here you see absolutely nothing on, just swerves

:14:35. > :14:36.and the size of him, he's grown, hasn't he?

:14:37. > :14:40.Different type of player, but Lee Briers, he left St Helens

:14:41. > :14:43.and ended up going to Warrington and had a career we all know about.

:14:44. > :14:46.This might be Savelio's club that he goes on from

:14:47. > :14:57.Now, pay attention because this next one is complicated.

:14:58. > :15:00.Wigan against Widnes was on, then it was off, and then

:15:01. > :15:08.Storm Doris blew the fixture list 23 miles off course.

:15:09. > :15:11.They were scheduled to play in Wigan but ended up in Widnes,

:15:12. > :15:16.Leuluai goes carting his way through.

:15:17. > :15:18.It was brawn rather than brains from Leuluai.

:15:19. > :15:28.Looking to slip his way through, flicks the ball out the back.

:15:29. > :15:32.Going to go it alone and Widnes are on the board.

:15:33. > :15:44.Across the line, great little dart from Craven,

:15:45. > :15:46.and Craven is through and Widnes it the front.

:15:47. > :16:01.Looking to pierce the defence, is gone straight through the meadow,

:16:02. > :16:09.and will touch down under the sticks.

:16:10. > :16:12.What a superb try, what a week for Oliver Gildart.

:16:13. > :16:19.Really smart play from the Widnes man.

:16:20. > :16:30.A great ball, out to Marsh in the corner.

:16:31. > :16:36.Heremaia, drops it off to Tom Olbison.

:16:37. > :16:47.Heremaia's appealing for a penalty here and I think

:16:48. > :17:04.Chris Bridge takes the ball to the line, Morgan Escare

:17:05. > :17:10.That was smart defence from the Frenchman.

:17:11. > :17:13.Messing about at the play-the-ball here and the referee has given

:17:14. > :17:26.To further boost the lead, Rhys Hanbury.

:17:27. > :17:32.Wigan doing their best to fight back here.

:17:33. > :17:34.Powell, O'Loughlin, now back it goes to Williams.

:17:35. > :17:36.Lovely ball out to that left-hand side.

:17:37. > :17:55.Manages to free the ball, lovely off-load.

:17:56. > :18:02.Lewis Tierney, the Scotland international touches down.

:18:03. > :18:08.They've switched from right to left here.

:18:09. > :18:23.Worked out that left-hand side once again.

:18:24. > :18:24.Here goes Burgess down that left-hand side.

:18:25. > :18:31.And Wigan will go ahead right towards the end of this game.

:18:32. > :18:37.Unstoppable from the world champions.

:18:38. > :18:43.First of all John, I think we should pay huge credit to Widnes forgetting

:18:44. > :18:46.-- for getting that game on at such short notice, shouldn't we?

:18:47. > :18:50.I suppose that's the advantage of the high pitch, and all credit

:18:51. > :18:53.And credit to Widnes for their performance,

:18:54. > :19:01.but you've got to say to Wigan, well done.

:19:02. > :19:03.To back up winning the World Club Champions and I'm sure

:19:04. > :19:06.they celebrated a tad, and then they came through that

:19:07. > :19:09.and you're 14 points down, then to turn it round with four

:19:10. > :19:13.I really like the look of that Oliver Gildart.

:19:14. > :19:16.I think he really is a centre who's blossoming into a quality player.

:19:17. > :19:21.Let's take a look at the try he scored, set up by Morgan Escare.

:19:22. > :19:26.Talking about a knock-on, in some respects you don't

:19:27. > :19:35.want to go there because it was such a lovely move.

:19:36. > :19:38.It was, and so difficult to say whether it was a knock-on or not.

:19:39. > :19:41.The referee's not in a great position, but Oliver Gildart

:19:42. > :19:44.after this, he's no right to score that try.

:19:45. > :19:48.Accelerate away and I agree with John, is an absolute brilliant

:19:49. > :19:50.talent and one that's going to have a terrific future.

:19:51. > :19:52.That left-hand side now with Farrell, Gildart

:19:53. > :19:54.and Joe Burgess, that's going to be really threatening for teams

:19:55. > :19:57.It is, very threatening indeed.

:19:58. > :19:59.Burgess is a great finisher, as he's already demonstrated this season.

:20:00. > :20:03.And Farrell's a real clever player, as well.

:20:04. > :20:05.So yeah, the right side of any opposition are going

:20:06. > :20:07.to have their work cut out when they play Wigan.

:20:08. > :20:10.Denis Betts will be licking his wounds a little bit

:20:11. > :20:12.because the team did play very, very well.

:20:13. > :20:16.Was it just desire from Wigan, do you think, or...?

:20:17. > :20:20.For Wigan to back up from what they did last

:20:21. > :20:26.week and John is right, they are going to have some

:20:27. > :20:28.celebrations, and rightly so, when you're the world champions,

:20:29. > :20:32.To come back from the way they were behind, it shows

:20:33. > :20:36.The reason they won the Grand Final last year, the reason they're

:20:37. > :20:38.successful and consistent, it was everything in that

:20:39. > :20:41.Widnes were in a position to win it there.

:20:42. > :20:43.They will be bitterly disappointed they didn't,

:20:44. > :20:46.because they are going to find points hard to come by this year.

:20:47. > :20:48.Next up it's the newly promoted Leigh Centurions.

:20:49. > :20:51.They were looking for their first win of the season.

:20:52. > :20:58.They got off to a flier against St Helens, didn't they?

:20:59. > :21:02.They've been renowned for this, haven't they, in the championship?

:21:03. > :21:05.I think Leigh did exceptionally well for two or three years

:21:06. > :21:07.in the championship, to get them to Super League,

:21:08. > :21:09.and they were always renowned for getting to 18,

:21:10. > :21:13.Everybody questioned would they be able to do that in Super League,

:21:14. > :21:16.well they've shown certainly in this game that they're very much

:21:17. > :21:20.Here we see Atelea Vea just brushing off Theo Fages

:21:21. > :21:26.When they're in this mood, when they get into this

:21:27. > :21:28.area of the field, there are extremely dangerous.

:21:29. > :21:30.You see Gareth Hock just crashing over there.

:21:31. > :21:35.And that's what does the damage, John?

:21:36. > :21:38.I think you could say they're quite aggressive in that middle channel.

:21:39. > :21:40.They really do carry the ball aggressively,

:21:41. > :21:43.but they run good lines as well, and they timed the run

:21:44. > :21:46.You can say they will cause teams problems.

:21:47. > :21:49.A bit of a defensive mystery there from Alex Walmsley.

:21:50. > :21:51.Jamie Acton went through for a very good try.

:21:52. > :22:00.It was great to see, this killed they demonstrated, St Helens.

:22:01. > :22:03.Their left-hand side, Percival put the wing man over,

:22:04. > :22:07.Then James Roby, you expect this, you know full well near the try line

:22:08. > :22:10.he's going to take you on, have a go at you.

:22:11. > :22:15.I think from the week before, they raced into a lead at the start

:22:16. > :22:18.of the game and that should've been on their minds.

:22:19. > :22:22.For Mick Higham to accelerate, showing his experience and speed

:22:23. > :22:25.there to get on the front foot again and Walmsley just brings them back.

:22:26. > :22:27.They did exceptionally well to hang on, because St Helens

:22:28. > :22:30.And they've built and built, haven't they?

:22:31. > :22:37.How important for them to get that win?

:22:38. > :22:40.It was very important for them, but the first four games

:22:41. > :22:43.of their season were tough games and I'm certain there will be happy

:22:44. > :22:45.to have posted that set appoint another lender the Wigan game,

:22:46. > :22:53.the derby this coming week with renewed confidence and now

:22:54. > :22:57.That will be a fascinating game to look at this weekend.

:22:58. > :23:01.With all the talk about pitches this week we thought we'd take a dip

:23:02. > :23:03.into the BBC archives and have a look at the floodlit

:23:04. > :23:06.The scoreboard operators weren't too busy but the laundry

:23:07. > :23:29.This is rugby league and this is Wigan on the left on the attack,

:23:30. > :23:31.just going near to the interval with a score.

:23:32. > :23:34.A minute and a half to go, 2-4 for, indicative

:23:35. > :23:38.It's hard, it's tough, it's fast, it's got

:23:39. > :23:51.What a sensational start to this BBC Two final,

:23:52. > :23:54.with two players in for an early bath before we've

:23:55. > :24:01.Wigan now, desperate for possession, and this could be, this could be.

:24:02. > :24:55.One minute 15 seconds left. There goes the whistle. Wigan for the

:24:56. > :25:02.first time take the BBC to floodlit Trophy.

:25:03. > :25:05.So from me on top of the central park stand, good night.

:25:06. > :25:08.Hope you have enjoyed the series and the final.

:25:09. > :25:11.I have to say that leads us on beautifully to another extremely

:25:12. > :25:14.muddy but incredibly compelling match between Siddal and Toronto.

:25:15. > :25:16.Did it almost make you teary-eyed for the good old days

:25:17. > :25:31.I had a look at this online with Dave who was commentating

:25:32. > :25:34.and you could tell he fully enjoyed it and the crowd certainly enjoyed

:25:35. > :25:38.It was played in very difficult conditions.

:25:39. > :25:43.The cameraman and his chamois leather were certainly a part of it.

:27:04. > :27:11.Both Leeds and Salford have won one of their opening two games

:27:34. > :27:38.Michael Dobson providing the pass for Gareth O'Brien to go

:27:39. > :27:46.Neither of the opening tries were converted,

:27:47. > :27:50.but Rob Burrow was on the mark with a penalty, a few minutes later

:27:51. > :27:57.But again Salford hit back after spells of pressure

:28:01. > :28:03.which eventually paid off for the Red Devils with Robert Lui

:28:04. > :28:06.opening up space for Chris Welham to score.

:28:07. > :28:08.Again, there was no conversion but Salford had

:28:09. > :28:16.Leeds had had the best of the chances in the first half

:28:17. > :28:19.and they were determined to make the best of what they got

:28:20. > :28:22.They got off to the best possible start.

:28:23. > :28:25.Matt Parcell made the break which Danny McGuire continued.

:28:26. > :28:38.Jimmy Keinhorst was the man in support.

:28:39. > :28:41.He shrugged off the attempt to tackle by Greg Johnson,

:28:42. > :28:45.Rob Burrow was successful this time with his conversion and the gap

:28:46. > :28:49.Burrow then added a penalty, to put more daylight between them.

:28:50. > :28:52.What followed was a period of chances for both teams denied

:29:01. > :29:02.He squeezed out the pass for Logan Tomkins, who somehow

:29:03. > :29:08.Gareth O'Brien added the goal and it was all square

:29:09. > :29:15.What followed was a tense and controversial finish.

:29:16. > :29:18.First Rob Burrow missed a penalty from 40 metres out.

:29:19. > :29:20.It bounced off the padding on the post.

:29:21. > :29:27.And then O'Brien missed one for Salford from a similar distance.

:29:28. > :29:30.In the closing moments of what had been an incredibly tight game,

:29:31. > :29:32.Leeds were pitching to snatch the win and what followed

:29:36. > :29:37.Stevie Ward off-loaded to Adam Cuthbertson with a ball many

:30:00. > :30:04.We were adamant as a group today that we were coming here to get

:30:05. > :30:07.something and that was a win that we wanted and I thought

:30:08. > :30:12.The effort they put in and the way they stuck to the task when they had

:30:13. > :30:14.to defend on the goal-line, they showed great character

:30:15. > :30:17.and they deserved more than they got out of that.

:30:18. > :30:20.I feel we have been let down by an outside factor today.

:30:21. > :30:23.I'm going to be very diplomatic and say I did not see the pass.

:30:24. > :30:32.You have to ask the question, was that why the try was scored?

:30:33. > :30:35.I will see the guys on Monday, they will be rolling

:30:36. > :30:39.The passage of play building up to it was were we really got Salford.

:30:40. > :30:41.I never thought Brian McDermott would be doing

:30:42. > :30:45.Ian Watson understandably sore, is it just one of those things

:30:46. > :30:48.or is there something we need to look at that might make it

:30:49. > :31:04.It is absolutely forward and you can understand the frustration.

:31:05. > :31:08.The quality on the end of it, Cuthbertson's off-load to Burrow,

:31:09. > :31:16.You can see where Ian Watson is coming from and you can

:31:17. > :31:19.see the frustration from everyone at Salford.

:31:20. > :31:22.They will go for you and against you and on that occasion it

:31:23. > :31:27.If you were going to pick out a player for Salford at the moment

:31:28. > :31:33.I think he developed last year from the potential

:31:34. > :31:38.He seemed to mature into quite an accomplished player,

:31:39. > :31:41.but I think now he is absolutely pivotal to how Salford play and to

:31:42. > :31:51.Well you have to go back to the middle of July to find

:31:52. > :31:54.the last time that Wakefield Trinity enjoyed a Super League victory.

:31:55. > :31:58.You were at Huddersfield on Friday, John, talk us through this one.

:31:59. > :32:02.Obviously the start for Huddersfield was sensational.

:32:03. > :32:06.They really came out of the blocks and the young kid in the centre got

:32:07. > :32:09.two tries with his first two touches of the ball.

:32:10. > :32:11.Perhaps some question marks against the online

:32:12. > :32:13.defence of our fellows, but they showed great character

:32:14. > :32:16.and there are smart players at Wakefield and Liam Finn

:32:17. > :32:18.is certainly one of them and when you notice a change

:32:19. > :32:21.in the armour, everyone shaped up for a wide shot and Liam realised

:32:22. > :32:35.This is a try that I really did enjoy and anyone who went to this

:32:36. > :32:40.game will really recall this and say, look at this.

:32:41. > :32:43.Jacob Miller does a great job at keeping the ball alive.

:32:44. > :32:45.Just look at this from Ben Jones-Bishop.

:32:46. > :32:47.There are some flyers in the Huddersfield team,

:32:48. > :32:51.but because Tom Johnstone is pushing up there, working hard,

:32:52. > :32:53.he is attracting people away from him and his footwork and pace

:32:54. > :32:58.really does the business there and that is an absolute quality try.

:32:59. > :33:01.It will be there for a try of the season.

:33:02. > :33:05.Obviously the penalty came after that and another good finish there.

:33:06. > :33:08.This is a centre's try really, where Reece Lyne went

:33:09. > :33:10.in there and really popped out the off-load and Jones-Bishop

:33:11. > :33:21.Half-time, 16-8, and you fancy your chances but Huddersfield really came

:33:22. > :33:24.out with a desire in the second half, again it probably should have

:33:25. > :33:26.been defended better, but the big men like Ukuma Ta ai,

:33:27. > :33:36.This perhaps did affect our shape and our attack for the last few

:33:37. > :33:38.minutes when there was that injury to Ben Jones-Bishop.

:33:39. > :33:43.His nose is broken and he has lost some teeth, so perhaps his

:33:44. > :33:46.looks are not as good as they were previously,

:33:47. > :33:52.but he's OK and he will be back very very soon, we hope.

:33:53. > :33:54.Obviously then, we came to the match clincher really

:33:55. > :34:01.and it is Danny Brough and he can do this, he can do this to anybody.

:34:02. > :34:04.Holding from the off-load, they didn't all push up as a team

:34:05. > :34:08.there but this is a great piece of work and a great piece of skill

:34:09. > :34:10.to pick up the space, McGillvary in the space

:34:11. > :34:17.Credit to Danny Brough then for it and I have to congratulate Danny

:34:18. > :34:20.as well on entering the top ten point scorers of all

:34:21. > :34:24.He is a good player, and a mate of mine but I wish

:34:25. > :34:28.He is an exceptional talent isn't he, it is his

:34:29. > :34:33.Just wax lyrical a little bit about him.

:34:34. > :34:34.I think everyone knows about Huddersfield.

:34:35. > :34:37.If you want to stop Huddersfield, you have to stop Danny Brough,

:34:38. > :34:45.We saw from the last try there, 99 players out of 100 do not

:34:46. > :34:47.have the ability to see that and have the execution

:34:48. > :34:54.He has been at the top of his game for a long time

:34:55. > :34:59.He has been a great player for Super League and for Scotland.

:35:00. > :35:01.So a try in every round so far for Jermaine McGillvary,

:35:02. > :35:04.but what does the England man know about herbs, the solar

:35:05. > :37:11.And the best of luck to Jermaine McGillvary,

:37:12. > :37:14.he is out for 3-6 weeks with a quad injury.

:37:15. > :37:18.He was injured in the match, I have to stress, not in Set of Six.

:37:19. > :37:21.Finally, to the City of Culture and visitors do not come much more

:37:22. > :37:28.Watching their game against Hull FC, was Dave Woods.

:37:29. > :37:30.Up to dummy half again, opportunity here knocking

:37:31. > :37:36.for the Black and whites because they are handily poised.

:37:37. > :37:40.He was held up, but right in front of the sticks and a penalty.

:37:41. > :37:47.Involving himself a little more than he should have done.

:37:48. > :37:50.Should be an easy two points here for Marc Sneyd,

:37:51. > :37:53.the first of the night and over it does go.

:37:54. > :38:08.Jodie Broughton with the interception.

:38:09. > :38:21.It is Gareth Ellis who has taken a heck of a bang here.

:38:22. > :38:25.He got the ball away and Sam Moa came sweeping in.

:38:26. > :38:28.Arms were involved, so I don't think it will be a penalty,

:38:29. > :38:40.There is a bit of bite in this game now, isn't there?

:38:41. > :38:55.Luke Walsh just measuring the job ahead and he struck it well

:38:56. > :39:04.All square again at two points apiece.

:39:05. > :39:19.Bird is in trouble, he has given away the penalty

:39:20. > :39:25.I think there had been a team warning.

:39:26. > :39:28.Bird is complaining that his arm was being held in by Griffin.

:39:29. > :39:42.And he is ten minutes in the sin-bin.

:39:43. > :39:50.Both sides need to clean things up here.

:39:51. > :40:03.Luke Walsh with a chance to add another two.

:40:04. > :40:09.It has been a stop start game, but that is for Catalan.

:40:10. > :40:15.Looking what might be available to him on the right-hand side.

:40:16. > :40:18.Plenty of Hull defenders back there, you can see it, but only ten metres

:40:19. > :40:29.They are joining in on this right-hand side.

:40:30. > :40:32.Krisnan Inu, and he is forcing his way in.

:40:33. > :40:38.The referee was very close and decided he had

:40:39. > :40:45.The video referee is not involved but it is worth

:40:46. > :41:04.Shuffled back on the line by Minichiello.

:41:05. > :41:09.A little gap in the Catalan defence but it remains very tight.

:41:10. > :41:14.As they seek a way through on that right-hand side.

:41:15. > :41:28.It is a terrific little flick from Sika Manu.

:41:29. > :41:52.Bird has made a break, halfway through, lots of support.

:41:53. > :41:59.And Richie Myler wins the try for Catalan!

:42:00. > :42:04.And it all came from the efforts of Greg Bird.

:42:05. > :42:15.Fonua adding his bulk to the Hull cause.

:42:16. > :42:17.He has got up and he has not played it.

:42:18. > :42:23.It is going to be another penalty here.

:42:24. > :42:26.Stepped off the mark, the referee says.

:42:27. > :42:35.And over goes the ball and it is another two points

:42:36. > :42:43.to Catalan who are edging themselves closer to the big victory here.

:42:44. > :42:48.Hull are desperate now to try and get something.

:42:49. > :43:02.Krisnan Inu, it is a rattling big tackle, terrific effort from Taylor

:43:03. > :43:10.and he has got the ball free and scores.

:43:11. > :43:13.There has got to be a question of whether there were two

:43:14. > :43:16.What about the determination of those two forwards,

:43:17. > :43:25.There is the rattling effort from Taylor.

:43:26. > :43:35.That is the decision that needs to be taken and that is the decision

:43:36. > :43:50.Thornley trying to find a way back in the middle.

:43:51. > :44:04.I think there was an advantage being played there and the referee

:44:05. > :44:12.So Luke Walsh with the chance to add another two and a big two

:44:13. > :44:34.In the wars, Jason Baitieri and that is not going to help.

:44:35. > :44:40.It was taken in the air and that does not look pretty.

:44:41. > :44:51.And it will be ten minutes in the sin-bin for Liam Watts.

:44:52. > :44:58.It has not been a great night for those in black and white.

:44:59. > :45:01.So will Walsh chip another two and chip his side ever closer

:45:02. > :45:06.We will see more aesthetically pleasing games this season,

:45:07. > :45:11.but if it stays like this, Catalan will not complain.

:45:12. > :45:13.Well, we have had some extremely entertaining games this weekend,

:45:14. > :45:22.The first half, I think there were 13 penalties in 25 minutes.

:45:23. > :45:25.The game never got going and both coaches and both sets

:45:26. > :45:32.I think we do not want to see that in our game, we want

:45:33. > :45:36.Do you blame the referee for that or do you blame

:45:37. > :45:40.I think the referee could have been sterner.

:45:41. > :45:44.I think he perhaps could have sin-binned a couple of players

:45:45. > :45:47.from either side or a player from either side just put his foot

:45:48. > :45:50.down on the game and then let the game go through.

:45:51. > :45:53.It was 25 or 30 minutes before anything got going.

:45:54. > :45:57.It was slow-paced and we only really saw any quality in the second half.

:45:58. > :46:00.Once the second half came, we saw a bit more adventure

:46:01. > :46:03.from both sides, some great defence and you started to see an improved

:46:04. > :46:09.How important is Greg Bird going to be for Catalan?

:46:10. > :46:14.When he was over here before, he almost took them to a Grand Final

:46:15. > :46:15.within 80 minutes of the Grand Final.

:46:16. > :46:19.He has changed his game, he is now very much,

:46:20. > :46:22.he is running the ball as much as passing the ball now

:46:23. > :46:25.and he really does cause problems to the opposition and he is very

:46:26. > :46:31.He kept interest in Danny Houghton, time after time after time

:46:32. > :46:36.and Danny Houghton is a great defensive player.

:46:37. > :46:38.I think he made 50 plus tackles in this game.

:46:39. > :46:40.He spotted him, taking it off his attacking play

:46:41. > :46:43.but there was the one time he had to use the footwork,

:46:44. > :46:46.got his nose through, off-load there and then as you see,

:46:47. > :46:48.up comes the support player and then Richie Myler,

:46:49. > :46:50.this is great skill, catching the ball behind him there,

:46:51. > :46:53.to finish the try, but Greg Bird could well be the catalyst

:46:54. > :47:04.It will need to be a better game than that.

:47:05. > :47:10.That is round two done and dusted and here is how things are looking

:47:11. > :47:17.Early days but it is Castleford Tigers who lead the way.

:47:18. > :47:20.They are one of three teams with a 100% record

:47:21. > :47:26.Warrington, Widnes and Wakefield are still waiting to get off the mark.

:47:27. > :47:30.So, we have reached the end of February and here is one or two

:47:31. > :47:39.things you might have missed in Super League so far.

:47:40. > :47:42.Something tells us this Leeds fan was quite keen for his side to go

:47:43. > :47:50.Who needs enemies when you have team-mates like Jon Wilkin?

:47:51. > :47:56.He gets a forearm smash from the captain.

:47:57. > :47:58.When you travel around the world watching your team,

:47:59. > :48:04.It wasn't fancy dress in the Wigan end, just a shame no-one

:48:05. > :48:10.My thanks to my guests for joining us.

:48:11. > :48:13.We will see you next week for Round 3.

:48:14. > :48:38.I've got enemies in Bourton-on-the-Water.

:48:39. > :48:51.reaching over, jabbing the screen, "Mel C, Mel C,"

:48:52. > :48:59."Which of the following is NOT a Spice Girl?"

:49:00. > :49:03.to help people change their spending habits.

:49:04. > :49:06.What?! We are bringing down your spending.

:49:07. > :49:10.# I got bills I gotta pay... #

:49:11. > :49:15.# So I'ma gonn' work work work every day... #
