:00:33. > :00:38.Hello and welcome to the Aquatics Centre right in the middle of Queen
:00:39. > :00:42.Elizabeth Olympic Park, it looks like a shiny armadillo, but trust
:00:43. > :00:47.me, it is a fantastic host for the European Championships. Day two of
:00:48. > :00:51.the swimming competition, Great Britain has one medal in the bag,
:00:52. > :00:56.courtesy of Hannah Miley, a silver in the 400 metres individual medley.
:00:57. > :01:02.If things go well, we could have fired by the end of the night, here
:01:03. > :01:06.is what is coming. -- we could have five. He is a world champion, he
:01:07. > :01:11.holds the world record, and he has been fasted this week, will there be
:01:12. > :01:16.more gold for Adam Peaty? What has Ben done to make himself proud? He
:01:17. > :01:21.is in the final of the 50 metres fly. And Southport's Pinus has seven
:01:22. > :01:26.European golds to her name, can this be number eight? -- finest. She has
:01:27. > :01:32.got eight, which is impressive, but be number eight? -- finest. She has
:01:33. > :01:35.this guy has got 11 European gold titles, Mark Foster, ladies
:01:36. > :01:43.gentlemen. She has got nothing on me, then? One European title but
:01:44. > :01:48.four Olympic medals, Becky Adlington is also with us through the
:01:49. > :01:50.competition. One guy who is all about Rio is Britain's hottest
:01:51. > :02:13.swimming property, Adam Peaty. Adam Peaty is a very, very rare
:02:14. > :02:16.athlete. He is one of British swimming's greatest ever. He is a
:02:17. > :02:23.privilege to be able to just watch him compete, just to be able to say
:02:24. > :02:27.that I know him. The months before the world record in April, I knew he
:02:28. > :02:33.was capable of doing something quite insane. Goodness me, he wins the
:02:34. > :02:37.gold! So pleased for the little lad I had coached from the age of 14,
:02:38. > :02:43.with the bad haircut. It was a special moment for me. The pressure
:02:44. > :02:46.was on him when he went to the World Championships. He was the number
:02:47. > :02:53.one, he had broken the world record, he was now the guy to watch. The 50
:02:54. > :03:02.metres breaststroke, just insane. Very well at this Peaty... He swam
:03:03. > :03:07.his perfect race. That was certainly a crowd pleaser. What a superstar! I
:03:08. > :03:12.mean, the hundred metres, from a coaching point of view, that was not
:03:13. > :03:18.easy to watch. This is a very big lead... And nail-biting stuff, I was
:03:19. > :03:23.in tears, cheering, screaming, thinking, he is not going to do it!
:03:24. > :03:30.And then he does it. Peaty has got it on the very last stroke! For him
:03:31. > :03:34.to cope with the pressure in his first World Championships, at the
:03:35. > :03:39.age of just 20, that is when he became a man for me.
:03:40. > :03:57.That is when he became a man for a lot of people, just look at this CV!
:03:58. > :04:03.We are moments away from the 100 metres breaststroke final for the
:04:04. > :04:08.European Championships, we have just been watching the guys preparing,
:04:09. > :04:12.Adam Peaty and Ross Murdoch, you love that shot, you can see how
:04:13. > :04:16.people are preparing, what is happening at that moment? For people
:04:17. > :04:20.who do not know what the call room is at home, obviously all the
:04:21. > :04:24.athletes get into a room, there is nobody else, no coaches, just you
:04:25. > :04:28.staring at your competitors, and Adam was the only one that was
:04:29. > :04:32.standing up. I do not know whether it was tactical, but it was really
:04:33. > :04:38.interesting to see, the rest of them were cool and calm. He was walking
:04:39. > :04:43.around, like, yeah, I have got this. You see that in athletics, some of
:04:44. > :04:47.the guys take their tops off, I have got the muscles, I have done the
:04:48. > :04:55.work. It is the last opportunity we get to stare each other down,
:04:56. > :04:58.because behind the block, it is you, the water and the wall. In the call
:04:59. > :05:03.room, if you want to stand and look big... When I got nervous, I got
:05:04. > :05:08.chatty, like now! I would talk to my competitors, they are going, go
:05:09. > :05:13.away. I was like, no, what are you having for supper? It made me
:05:14. > :05:17.relaxed, but it wound up. Some people have headphones on, heads
:05:18. > :05:22.down, not making eye contact. Adam is clearly up for it. What do you
:05:23. > :05:27.think is going to happen? I would love to see both at and Ross
:05:28. > :05:31.Murdoch, everyone talks about Adam, but Ross put in a great performance,
:05:32. > :05:36.I would like to see both of them on the podium, and I think they will
:05:37. > :05:40.both boast some really fast times. Is it fair to say that Ross has
:05:41. > :05:43.sometimes triumphed when he is not the favourite? We saw that in the
:05:44. > :05:45.Commonwealth Games. Let's see what happens in the men's 100 metres
:05:46. > :05:58.breaststroke. COMMENTATOR: The final of the men's
:05:59. > :06:06.100 metres breast row, and in four and five, the fastest two qualifies,
:06:07. > :06:13.the fastest British swimmers in history, Adam Peaty in four, Ross
:06:14. > :06:20.Murdoch in five. Well, they were introduced from slowest to fastest
:06:21. > :06:23.into this final, and here is Yannick Kaeser of Switzerland, his first
:06:24. > :06:28.major breaststroke final. What a final it must be, to come in and
:06:29. > :06:33.swim against the world champion, the defending 50 metres breast row
:06:34. > :06:36.champion at the Europeans and the defending 100 metres champion. Karen
:06:37. > :06:41.Pickering, for these guys, really exciting to be in the same race as
:06:42. > :06:45.Adam Peaty. I guess, for some of those who are a bit older than him,
:06:46. > :06:52.it must be frustrating, seeing the youngster coming through. 26, 28
:06:53. > :06:59.years old in this race, and Peaty and Murdoch are 21 and 22. What are
:07:00. > :07:05.these young guys doing?! And what about the two British guys? What are
:07:06. > :07:10.they thinking, medals all times? Adam has got to be thinking about
:07:11. > :07:13.times, how fast he can go at this stage in the season, how much can he
:07:14. > :07:17.shake up the rest of the world, who are going to be watching him. His
:07:18. > :07:22.rivals, the Australians, the Americans, they will be watching for
:07:23. > :07:27.the times he can post, not fully prepared. They will be looking to
:07:28. > :07:34.see what he can do. They will want to stir things up. Giedrius Titenis
:07:35. > :07:41.of Lithuania, well, he can certainly be in the medals, and I wonder
:07:42. > :07:44.whether he could be a spoiler, the third fastest qualifier. Ross
:07:45. > :07:49.Murdoch qualified second fastest, brilliant Commonwealth Games, he won
:07:50. > :08:00.gold there, silver at the World Championships in the 100 breast
:08:01. > :08:07.rope. And Adam Peaty, the defending champion, world champion,
:08:08. > :08:18.Commonwealth champion and this is a stepping stone to Rio, and what a
:08:19. > :08:23.great opportunity he has two said a third best time any 100 metres
:08:24. > :08:26.breaststroke. He has been so consistent, looked unbeatable. To
:08:27. > :08:31.walk out to a reception like that, your home country, it must feel so
:08:32. > :08:36.good. He likes to smack his chest hard before he races, get himself
:08:37. > :08:41.pumped up. Ross looks calm, he looks ready, exactly what he has got to
:08:42. > :08:43.do, can he possibly do anything, though, to challenge Adam Peaty?
:08:44. > :09:00.Ross, I am Murdoch in the white hat, Adam Peaty
:09:01. > :09:07.in the blue hat, the world record-holder, the
:09:08. > :09:10.in the blue hat, the world European Championships. Well, a very
:09:11. > :09:13.good reaction, really good reaction from Peaty in
:09:14. > :09:19.good reaction, really good reaction Murdoch, but the best from Toniato
:09:20. > :09:24.in two, but Peaty starting to get into his stride. The weakest part of
:09:25. > :09:28.his event is the start, but as soon as he is into his stroke, look at
:09:29. > :09:33.the power that he has, nobody is faster over 50 metres breaststroke,
:09:34. > :09:38.and he is good at 200 as well, so he finishes strong. Andrea Toniato
:09:39. > :09:43.trying to go with him, they must know it is the only chance they have
:09:44. > :09:45.to get close to Peaty. He is starting to edge away. Ross Murdoch
:09:46. > :09:51.has two uses 200 strength to starting to edge away. Ross Murdoch
:09:52. > :09:55.back at these swimmers. He is only 0.2 off his world record split, he
:09:56. > :09:57.has been doing an awful lot of training. He is swimming away from
:09:58. > :10:00.Titenis, Murdoch is training. He is swimming away from
:10:01. > :10:03.he get silver? training. He is swimming away from
:10:04. > :10:08.wonderful gold training. He is swimming away from
:10:09. > :10:12.he gets the gold, training. He is swimming away from
:10:13. > :10:15.swim, gold and silver training. He is swimming away from
:10:16. > :10:20.Ross Murdoch, the Scottish champion, the Scottish record-holder, as just
:10:21. > :10:25.stolen the silver medal inside the last 25. What a great swim for Great
:10:26. > :10:34.Britain, Peaty, the gold medallist, Murdoch, the silver medallist, 1-2
:10:35. > :10:39.for Great Britain. Peaty gets up on his stroke, but by the time the guts
:10:40. > :10:44.to the 50 metre mark, he was a head. The underwater work, how far he was
:10:45. > :10:48.ahead in those closing stages! Murdoch using that 200 strength he
:10:49. > :10:57.has to finish so well. Oh, big glide from Ross. So Adam Peaty wins, a
:10:58. > :11:07.time of 58.3 is right on the old world record. What
:11:08. > :11:09.time of 58.3 is right on the old Unbelievable. So a unrested,
:11:10. > :11:16.unshaved Adam Peaty wins the European title, 58.3, a 1- to for
:11:17. > :11:20.Great Britain, brilliant swim by Ross Murdoch to get the silver.
:11:21. > :11:25.Great to see him get progressively faster through the heats, semifinal
:11:26. > :11:28.and final, absolute perfection to be doing that, such great preparation
:11:29. > :11:34.for the Olympic Games. Great swim from Peaty.
:11:35. > :11:37.Two very happy boys in the pool, and two very happy commentators, you
:11:38. > :11:42.perforated my eardrums! How impressed were you by the time?
:11:43. > :11:49.Seriously impressive, to be posting that three months out from the
:11:50. > :11:51.Olympic Games should give him an amazing amount of confidence, just
:11:52. > :11:54.incredible. And for Ross as well, to get the silver medal, he really
:11:55. > :12:01.showed his back end strength there. You have to look at Ross, number
:12:02. > :12:05.three in the world, so for Adam to put a second and a half between him
:12:06. > :12:09.and the others, his start was not the best, but it was decent, it was
:12:10. > :12:17.good, and it helps when he lies a little bit more under the water.
:12:18. > :12:21.Cameron van der Burgh, he is a better starter, but that is the sort
:12:22. > :12:27.of time that will win the Olympics. To say hard training, I do not think
:12:28. > :12:33.people will say, it is not a world record, but he is not rested, he is
:12:34. > :12:37.not shaved down, he is hurting, training really hard, so to post
:12:38. > :12:43.that time should give him a massive boost. We enjoyed it, let's see if
:12:44. > :12:46.he did with Sharron. Many congratulations, getting faster
:12:47. > :12:51.from the heats to the semifinal to the final, a hell of a message to
:12:52. > :12:56.everyone in Rio. It is only half of the job, but I am still in hard
:12:57. > :13:01.training, you cannot swim slowly in an arena like this with a crowd like
:13:02. > :13:06.that. Amazing support, one of the best races I have ever had in terms
:13:07. > :13:10.of the competition with Ross, the GB support, it is great. I know you
:13:11. > :13:15.have got a relay, Imbeau-Dulac you go, then concentrate on Ross, but
:13:16. > :13:20.many congratulations. That I am going to let you go. You did not
:13:21. > :13:23.give up until the last stroke. Even on the last stroke, I did not give
:13:24. > :13:27.up, you have to fight for every single metre, they are on your
:13:28. > :13:31.shoulder the whole way, massive shout to everyone in the stands and
:13:32. > :13:35.watching at home. We cannot do much without their support. There was
:13:36. > :13:39.talk that you might surprise everybody, like at the Commonwealth
:13:40. > :13:44.Games, but he is a tough competitor. A tough guy to race, always race
:13:45. > :13:50.ready, regardless of his state, but it is great for me, it means I have
:13:51. > :13:55.to up my game. Breaststroke is in the best place, we are going to be
:13:56. > :13:59.leaving so much of the world behind, especially in the 200. I know, I did
:14:00. > :14:04.not make it to the 200, but Jamieson missed out as well, a tough job to
:14:05. > :14:06.make that team! Silver medal tonight, many congratulations. Thank
:14:07. > :14:20.you very much. Two British swimmers in five and
:14:21. > :14:29.six, Chloe Tutton and Molly Renshaw, they have a super chance of making
:14:30. > :14:34.the final. So in five is Chloe Tutton, and in six is Molly Renshaw.
:14:35. > :14:40.And Renshaw right on the cut off after the heats. Lau could be in
:14:41. > :14:50.four, the European short-course champion.
:14:51. > :15:01.Renshaw in six. What are your Chloe Tutton is having. -- what a year.
:15:02. > :15:06.She was surprised to make the team and now she finds herself in the
:15:07. > :15:10.centre of the pool. A great chance of making it to the final. These
:15:11. > :15:15.girls have some work to do. Both are pretty good at the 200 breaststroke,
:15:16. > :15:21.so they can finish strong. They are going to have to put some work in,
:15:22. > :15:25.and build up some speed in front of their rivals. This is when they have
:15:26. > :15:29.to dig deep, keeping the stroke long. They don't want to start
:15:30. > :15:32.punishing the water and rushing their stroke. They have the time it
:15:33. > :15:39.to perfection, the smooth and strong. Great news for the Brits,
:15:40. > :15:44.because they are in great shape. Fiona Doyle of Ireland also here, up
:15:45. > :15:54.in seven. In a very good position. Chloe Tutton, she gets the finish.
:15:55. > :16:00.67 foot .6, a lifetime best for her. -- 60 7.6. And APB for Molly
:16:01. > :16:05.Renshaw. Surely they are going through to the final? They have put
:16:06. > :16:09.themselves into a great position. Really writing that wave, making the
:16:10. > :16:16.Olympic team. What an exciting summer they have a head. A good
:16:17. > :16:21.start from them. But they are both youngsters, 19 and 20, but they are
:16:22. > :16:26.able to carve up the first 100 and use their strength in the second 50
:16:27. > :16:37.metres to perfection. Timed it well. A bit of a stretch from Molly. Well
:16:38. > :16:41.done, girls. Chloe Tutton wins, with Molly Renshaw in third, and Fiona
:16:42. > :16:57.Doyle in fourth. Ruta Meilutyte, the fastest
:16:58. > :17:07.qualifier in to this second semifinal. Sophie Hansen goes in
:17:08. > :17:18.lane two for Sweden. The 17-year-old, what a great experience
:17:19. > :17:27.that would be for her. And Luthersdottir from Iceland in lane
:17:28. > :17:30.three. Many people remember her swim at London, 15-year-old winning that
:17:31. > :17:35.title. But since then she has had her ups and downs. Last year she
:17:36. > :17:38.broke her elbow falling off a bike on the way to morning training and
:17:39. > :17:48.it has taken three months to come back with that. It would have broken
:17:49. > :17:51.a lot of athletes. The boring rehab. But if anything she has come back
:17:52. > :17:58.tougher and stronger, and more determined. That impresses me, when
:17:59. > :18:03.people can come back. And look at that, she is a strong swimmer.
:18:04. > :18:05.Cheers. And we were talking to coach just before the race. She has only
:18:06. > :18:08.really come for this. Two days, just before the race. She has only
:18:09. > :18:36.then she's going back to Plymouth. She looks very strong. The Olympic
:18:37. > :18:41.champion in four, Ruta Meilutyte. And a great start. If you stop the
:18:42. > :18:48.race there, she has probably already won by 0.3 seconds. Men and women, I
:18:49. > :18:57.do not know anyone who starts better than Ruta Meilutyte. She does not
:18:58. > :19:07.give away any advantage. A great stroke rates, quicker than we saw in
:19:08. > :19:16.the heats this morning, 30.8 at the halfway mark. That is fast swimming.
:19:17. > :19:17.But she makes it look easy, even though underwater she will be
:19:18. > :19:22.working so hard. And she is a full though underwater she will be
:19:23. > :19:27.second faster than she was in the heats this morning, going out
:19:28. > :19:29.comfortable. But look at this, she has been working in the gym very
:19:30. > :19:37.hard. When her elbow was broken, she has been working in the gym very
:19:38. > :19:45.was tying up a little bit of that early speed. The target was 66 flat.
:19:46. > :19:48.66.16 is very good indeed. And I wonder whether tomorrow
:19:49. > :19:52.66.16 is very good indeed. And I final she will break 66. Wouldn't
:19:53. > :20:00.that be something special? A new championship record. That would be
:20:01. > :20:04.impressive. So fast. A good reaction and so powerful underwater. Already
:20:05. > :20:04.impressive. So fast. A good reaction taking her first stroke underwater
:20:05. > :20:07.while some of the other taking her first stroke underwater
:20:08. > :20:12.still gliding. But what a stretch. taking her first stroke underwater
:20:13. > :20:20.Maybe a 10th of a second just on taking her first stroke underwater
:20:21. > :20:24.training, the middle of posh training, a good swim. Bosch
:20:25. > :20:28.training is working well at the European Championships. Ruta
:20:29. > :20:34.Meilutyte winning the second semifinal. A new championship
:20:35. > :20:37.record. The rest of the field a full second behind. And I'm delighted to
:20:38. > :20:44.tell you that Sharron Davies is now talking to the British sensations,
:20:45. > :20:48.Chloe and Molly. Ladies, many congratulations. Fantastic. First
:20:49. > :20:53.and third in that race. You are inspired by watching the guys?
:20:54. > :20:59.Definitely. Adam Peaty is a massive inspiration. He has done this
:21:00. > :21:03.before. It was just a good push. Chloe, this is kind of the first
:21:04. > :21:08.major international for you. It was a big learning curve. Yes,
:21:09. > :21:14.completely new to me but I am loving it. I'm taking it in my stride. And
:21:15. > :21:22.a big PB this year, where can you go next? Word you see yourself going
:21:23. > :21:26.this summer? Just getting better, hopefully. -- where do you see
:21:27. > :21:34.yourself. Molly, lovely to see yourself here. Showing why you
:21:35. > :21:39.should be here. Yes, that was a big PB for me. I did not expect to
:21:40. > :21:43.swimmer that well here, because we have just been back in the pool for
:21:44. > :21:51.four weeks. But this is showing that it is working. And it is great to
:21:52. > :21:57.have such depth in the breast drug field. Yes, since this year, we have
:21:58. > :22:05.been a bit behind, but now that Chloe has come through, we have to
:22:06. > :22:10.strong breaststroke is. Great swimming from both Chloe and Molly.
:22:11. > :22:16.Their favourite event later in the week. But now it is time to turn our
:22:17. > :22:30.attention to the men's 200-metre medley.
:22:31. > :22:36.Max Litchfield from Great Britain going in six. He has a chance of
:22:37. > :22:54.making this final. He really needs to put in a very big semifinal. Now
:22:55. > :23:01.Laszlo Che, the fastest qualifier. -- Laszlo Cseh.
:23:02. > :23:07.The first semifinal of the men's 200 metres individual medley. Max
:23:08. > :23:27.Litchfield of Great Britain in six, in the blue hat. In the centre, the
:23:28. > :23:31.Greek, certainly the star, Andreas Vazaios. Certainly, to be a world
:23:32. > :23:40.class 200-metre medley star, you cannot have a weak stroke. You will
:23:41. > :23:44.be exposed. They need to iron out their weaknesses. But it is also
:23:45. > :23:48.about making sure that whatever stroke is your weakness does not
:23:49. > :23:55.cost you too much if you are working too hard. You cannot put too much
:23:56. > :23:58.effort into it, so it leaves you with nothing left on your other
:23:59. > :24:11.legs. It is about efficiency. But what a lead. 1.62 behind Andreas
:24:12. > :24:24.Venizelos is Max Litchfield. -- Tampax. Raphael Stacchiotti of
:24:25. > :24:32.Luxembourg just behind him. Litchfield, sandwiched between
:24:33. > :24:39.Stacchiotti and Benjamin Gratz. He really did some damage in the heats.
:24:40. > :24:49.Almost a relief to get onto the medley. The Greek, better from the
:24:50. > :24:59.start. An excellent backstroke. And look at this brief -- look at this
:25:00. > :25:05.freestyle. He just takes the outside. Finishing well. Max
:25:06. > :25:12.Litchfield, finishing in fourth. A dangerous place to finish. But a
:25:13. > :25:20.very good finish. 2.86 for him. But a really good swim from Vazaios. An
:25:21. > :25:25.exceptional swimmer from him. But Litchfield, left a little on the
:25:26. > :25:29.blocks. Not the best reaction from him. But Vazaios was superb. In a
:25:30. > :25:39.different class, in a different race, really. Finishing comfortable,
:25:40. > :25:43.just a stretch into the wall. Not too much effort in the closing
:25:44. > :25:51.stages. The Greeks are having a great meet here. He wins the first
:25:52. > :25:53.semifinal. Max Litchfield has a chance of making the final with
:25:54. > :26:05.that. Great Britain's Dan Wallace is going
:26:06. > :26:08.in lane two, the Commonwealth champion in the 400 medley. But he
:26:09. > :26:18.has work to do if he is going to make it to the final. Interesting,
:26:19. > :26:28.Dan Wallace has been selected for the British team as one of seven
:26:29. > :26:36.freestyle swimmers. I think it was also reflective of the wild card. He
:26:37. > :26:42.is the Commonwealth champion. And he has been World Champion as part of
:26:43. > :26:52.that relay. But he had a pure trials. And he will want to put that
:26:53. > :26:58.right. -- poor trials. I'm not sure why he did not go right at the
:26:59. > :27:07.trials. He is wearing a nose clip? Who wears those these days? I found
:27:08. > :27:12.it easier for backstroke. You don't have to worry about water going up
:27:13. > :27:16.your nose. The backstroke, they spend so much time underwater, it is
:27:17. > :27:20.just a little bit easier to hold your breath. Some of the swimmers
:27:21. > :27:28.are able to plug their nose with their top lip. You will sit and try
:27:29. > :27:35.that now. It is not a good look! I am very glad the camera was not on
:27:36. > :27:40.us at that point! Stick your lips out, stick your top lip as far up to
:27:41. > :27:46.your nose as you possibly can. And then you breathe them. Don't breathe
:27:47. > :27:58.them, you will get water up your nose. Dan Wallace does not wear a
:27:59. > :28:09.nose clip. I would love to see him really work this first 100 metres.
:28:10. > :28:15.His butterfly is not bad at all but his backstroke is weaker. The
:28:16. > :28:21.His butterfly is not bad at all but semifinal, the second, the men's
:28:22. > :28:31.200-metre individual medley. A fantastic facility, this pool in
:28:32. > :28:42.Stratford. And Dan has so much to prove now, after delivering at
:28:43. > :28:46.trials. This season, beginning just five weeks ago, he showed so much
:28:47. > :28:53.promise in 2014, winning the Commonwealth Games. And last year as
:28:54. > :28:58.well, a good world championship. But he did not really get it right. He
:28:59. > :29:10.will be keen to put things straight. he did not really get it right. He
:29:11. > :29:16.place in the final would be good for Dan, getting back into racing. At
:29:17. > :29:17.the moment, a little down on the pace. Good breaststroke, good
:29:18. > :29:27.freestyle, so now it is chance. pace. Good breaststroke, good
:29:28. > :29:34.now is his chance. It is a pricing and much you can sense and see when
:29:35. > :29:37.you are swimming. -- it is surprising how much you can sense.
:29:38. > :29:41.Wallace is based here. Two from the surprising how much you can sense.
:29:42. > :29:55.next to him, the Portuguese swimmer. surprising how much you can sense.
:29:56. > :30:00.A good 200-metre freestyle. He is watching those swimmers,
:30:01. > :30:03.A good 200-metre freestyle. He is up. There is a lot of space between
:30:04. > :30:09.A good 200-metre freestyle. He is him. He will want to get into this
:30:10. > :30:15.final. The charges coming on from Dan Wallace. He still has a great
:30:16. > :30:20.chance of the final. I think he is finished in fourth. 2.7
:30:21. > :30:22.chance of the final. I think he is reckon he will make the final. He
:30:23. > :30:26.might be seven for eighth and if he is, that will be something special.
:30:27. > :30:32.I think we have to Brits in the final, maybe seven. That would be
:30:33. > :30:38.great. It would be great to see and the crowd will love it. Hopefully
:30:39. > :30:46.one of them has not knocked the other one out. That butterfly kick
:30:47. > :30:52.underwater, choosing to stay under not very long in the 200 medley.
:30:53. > :31:03.How close it was in the closing stages, everyplace counts. So the
:31:04. > :31:08.results of the second semifinal of the men's 200 metres medley, Dan
:31:09. > :31:15.Wallace did really well. I think he is in the final, let's just check
:31:16. > :31:21.and see. We should get the finalists now, here we go, look at that! Dan
:31:22. > :31:28.Wallace in seventh, Max Litchfield in eighth, excellent, both in
:31:29. > :31:32.tomorrow night's final. Sneaking into the final, but as you
:31:33. > :31:36.guys telling me, if you have got a lane, you have got a chance. So far
:31:37. > :31:40.so good for the British swimmers, Chloe Tutton and Molly Renshaw boat
:31:41. > :31:44.into their final tomorrow, one gold medal already from Adam Peaty,
:31:45. > :31:50.silver medal for Ross Murdoch. I don't want to jinx it, but let's
:31:51. > :31:53.talk about tomorrow night, Dan Wallace and Max Litchfield, have
:31:54. > :32:02.they got any chance with Laszlo Che out of it? He pulled out after
:32:03. > :32:06.qualifying fastest. Max is somebody that is just at the start of his
:32:07. > :32:13.career, so it is great that the pictures any final ahead of his
:32:14. > :32:21.first Olympic Games. Dan is used to this. 2014 was an amazing year for
:32:22. > :32:25.Dan, came fourth in the World Championships, and on form he could
:32:26. > :32:29.potentially win it. He did not have the best trials, which was only
:32:30. > :32:33.three or four weeks ago, but I would say he can clearly do this swim, it
:32:34. > :32:39.is about doing it at the right time. You could say this is not the right
:32:40. > :32:44.time, concentrate on the 200 freestyle, the relay at Rio. For
:32:45. > :32:48.Max, great experience, another final, for both of them tomorrow
:32:49. > :32:52.night, and the more experienced he gets, the better. As we have already
:32:53. > :32:58.seen this week, people peak at different times, let's see what he
:32:59. > :33:03.has to say about it, Dan Wallace is with Sharron. A topsy-turvy? Is, how
:33:04. > :33:09.did you feel just a few months ago, when you are thinking, Rio is
:33:10. > :33:14.coming, it did not quite happen at the trials, but now what you are
:33:15. > :33:19.coming back into form. -- a topsy-turvy view months. It has been
:33:20. > :33:26.emotional stuff, ups and downs, but I found my way onto the team, I
:33:27. > :33:29.wanted to prove a point, I am not just a wild card. Everyone knows
:33:30. > :33:34.that I'm capable of making the team and doing something good this
:33:35. > :33:41.summer. Is that part of the problem of being in the American programme
:33:42. > :33:45.that does not tie in with ours? Not really, I have been in America for
:33:46. > :33:55.five years now, but it has worked really well for me, me who who I am
:33:56. > :33:58.today. It is the communication between my coaches over the last
:33:59. > :34:02.five years has been good. Well done, both of you.
:34:03. > :34:06.We will have that final tomorrow night. We have mentioned two medals,
:34:07. > :34:11.but not all of them. Earlier Ben Proud went in the 50 metres fly, a
:34:12. > :34:14.double Commonwealth gold medal holder, can he take the European
:34:15. > :34:26.title as well? Before we share the final with you, this is what he had
:34:27. > :34:30.to say. Fantastic swim, first gold medal to England in the swimming
:34:31. > :34:34.pool is come a two and it has come for young Ben Proud of Plymouth. At
:34:35. > :34:38.the Commonwealth Games, I didn't know what to expect, just a stepping
:34:39. > :34:44.stone to make the Olympics this year. And going there, doing as well
:34:45. > :34:49.as I did, it was a massive relief, because my friends and family,
:34:50. > :34:53.leaving them to start this new life, it made it worthwhile. You could say
:34:54. > :34:58.that what we were doing was right, we were on the right path. It was
:34:59. > :35:04.great to get the two golds, even better to see that what we were
:35:05. > :35:07.doing was right. And we have got the Europeans, how are you going to
:35:08. > :35:13.approach it? I know you are not resting. What are you looking for?
:35:14. > :35:17.It is going to be a big racing week, we will spend as much time doing as
:35:18. > :35:23.many races as possible, trying to get my mind fixed on being able to
:35:24. > :35:27.race. And you know, the best training is racing, so we are going
:35:28. > :35:39.to do the 50 fly, the 103 and 53, along with possibly some relays. --
:35:40. > :35:42.the 100 free and the 50 free. Racing everybody against Europe, it will be
:35:43. > :35:44.some great competition, I am really looking forward to trying to do my
:35:45. > :35:59.best. Ben Proud in the 50 butterfly, Fran
:36:00. > :36:02.Halsall in the 50 butterfly as well, men's and women's races, they are
:36:03. > :36:11.splash and dash, get your hands on the wall. Very good start indeed for
:36:12. > :36:17.Ben Proud, great reaction, at first and very quickly is Govorov, really
:36:18. > :36:24.strong, look at the speed of the turnover, head down, flat across the
:36:25. > :36:29.surface, maybe ahead at the moment. Govorov of the Ukraine looks like he
:36:30. > :36:33.will get the touch. The gold goes to Govorov, very close indeed for
:36:34. > :36:38.silver, Ben Proud may have got the bronze medal, really tight. The gold
:36:39. > :36:42.goes to Govorov of Ukraine, the silver to Laszlo Cseh,
:36:43. > :36:49.goes to Govorov of Ukraine, the final he had, Ben Proud weds 23.3,
:36:50. > :36:54.just final he had, Ben Proud weds 23.3,
:36:55. > :37:00.Great Britain's first silver medal of day two. Superb swim, but he lost
:37:01. > :37:06.that on the touch. Great start, so fast off the block, Ben Proud, great
:37:07. > :37:10.reactions. You can see, in the closing stages, Govorov on the wall,
:37:11. > :37:16.Laszlo Cseh just timed that a bit better and managed to snatch the
:37:17. > :37:29.silver medal away from Ben Proud. Only was also of the men's 50 metres
:37:30. > :37:33.butterfly final. -- so he is -- so the results. Congratulations, and
:37:34. > :37:39.other bronze medal, it looked as if the timing on the war was not quite
:37:40. > :37:49.right. That is made with 50 fly, good time, but I knew I was not
:37:50. > :37:55.right at 45 metres. It was still a good race for me. I am still really
:37:56. > :37:58.happy with that. Your 50 free has been in really great shape, it must
:37:59. > :38:03.give you great confidence going into the 50 free later in the programme.
:38:04. > :38:07.Definitely, it is not even at my best, I have been doing no training
:38:08. > :38:13.for butterfly at all, so swimming quite close to my best is good. 50
:38:14. > :38:17.free is most of my attention, I have got a couple of days to freshen up,
:38:18. > :38:22.hopefully by Saturday I will be ready. Congratulations, Ben Proud,
:38:23. > :38:27.he was so close to the silver, that is insanely close. Can you plan for
:38:28. > :38:35.that? Are their tactics to make up that kind of time? When you swim a
:38:36. > :38:38.sprint event, you will know how many strokes it is, you know it is
:38:39. > :38:40.probably 17 strokes it is, you know it is
:38:41. > :38:42.and he will finish on a four strokes it is, you know it is
:38:43. > :38:47.If you are a couple out from the strokes it is, you know it is
:38:48. > :38:51.wall, you can readjust. He is not seeing the wall, only the bottom of
:38:52. > :38:55.the pool. It is not hit or miss, you can make adjustments, but you train
:38:56. > :38:59.so many times, the moment you go to the wall, it should
:39:00. > :39:03.so many times, the moment you go to right stroke. Not an Olympic event,
:39:04. > :39:08.but it bodes well. Definitely, it should give him loads of confidence.
:39:09. > :39:15.Right, the final of the women's 200 metres breaststroke, a heck of a
:39:16. > :39:22.schedule for Katinka Hosszu, how do metres breaststroke, a heck of a
:39:23. > :39:24.they do it? I don't know! She does this all the time, she races a lot,
:39:25. > :39:28.she does big programmes, this all the time, she races a lot,
:39:29. > :39:46.this as part of a training session. Let's see how she gets on.
:39:47. > :40:01.The fastest qualifier is Daryna Zevina of the Ukraine. So Hosszu
:40:02. > :40:07.only third fastest into this, but there is a particular reason why, I
:40:08. > :40:10.think. She has given herself quite a tough schedule, she had the 400
:40:11. > :40:17.medley before that semifinal, and the 400 medley, I cannot imagine
:40:18. > :40:21.what it felt like to swim the 200 backstroke afterwards. And there she
:40:22. > :40:27.is, she calls herself the Iron Lady, that is what she is known as.
:40:28. > :40:30.Whenever she puts videos out, she talks about the
:40:31. > :40:39.Whenever she puts videos out, she the forge. A real brand going for
:40:40. > :40:43.her. She has said a tough schedule, all about preparing for the Olympic
:40:44. > :40:50.Games, make it as tough as she can now so it is easy in Rio. Daryna
:40:51. > :40:55.Zevina is the fastest qualifier, the Ukrainian, the European junior
:40:56. > :41:03.champion. Now the fastest qualifier for the senior final. Well, Zevina
:41:04. > :41:09.in three, the world champion at 200 medley and 400 medley, already won
:41:10. > :41:15.gold in the 400 medley. Can we see past another girl for Katinka
:41:16. > :41:19.Hosszu? She is the class act of the field, she is ranked six places
:41:20. > :41:26.higher in the world than Daryna Zevina. Zevina looked good in the
:41:27. > :41:30.semifinal, but Hosszu, well, she is rested now, isn't she?! Are supposed
:41:31. > :41:38.she is, but what a tough double that was last night, 400 medley final
:41:39. > :41:40.then 200 backstroke semi. The final of the women's 200 metres backstroke
:41:41. > :41:50.at the European Championships. The pink suit of Daryna Zevina right
:41:51. > :41:57.in the centre, the fastest qualifier. The best start from
:41:58. > :42:02.Katinka Hosszu in lane three. Also a very good start up in seven, Simona
:42:03. > :42:07.Baumrtova of the Czech Republic, but Katinka Hosszu started as she means
:42:08. > :42:12.to continue. Not the prettiest stroke, quite bouncy in the water.
:42:13. > :42:18.Some almost glide like a hovercraft over the top of the water, perfectly
:42:19. > :42:23.still, though. She needs to take this race on. She has got great
:42:24. > :42:30.strength in the closing stages of races. The 400 medley sees to that.
:42:31. > :42:34.There is first and second, close to us is Katinka Hosszu, and look at
:42:35. > :42:39.the lady in the pink suit at the bottom, she swam on this side of the
:42:40. > :42:44.lane going down, she is right on that side in lane one, she is
:42:45. > :42:50.probably swimming 102 metres down this first length. Let's see what
:42:51. > :42:58.you does in the second 100. Sue over first, 0.8 head of Zevina and
:42:59. > :43:01.second. -- Hosszu over first. Zevina did that in the semifinal herself,
:43:02. > :43:08.talk about the Anjaal eating roof causing the swimmers to move a
:43:09. > :43:16.little bit off centre. -- the undulating roof. It is different
:43:17. > :43:20.when you are outside under the clouds, but no problem for Katinka
:43:21. > :43:24.Hosszu, dead centre of the lane, not giving herself a single centimetre
:43:25. > :43:31.more. Just outside the European record split. It is fast swimming
:43:32. > :43:35.from Katinka, it would be great to see the championship record go, it
:43:36. > :43:43.has stood since 1991 to her compatriot. Hosszu is toughing it
:43:44. > :43:48.out, this will be tough for Hosszu, unrested, it is going to hurt now.
:43:49. > :43:53.Zevina is coming back very strongly, I think Hosszu is going to hang on,
:43:54. > :44:00.powering home. She needed another ten metres, the gold goes to Hosszu,
:44:01. > :44:06.silver goes to Zevina of Ukraine, the bronze goes to Samardzic of
:44:07. > :44:11.Croatia, but the last 15 metres, Zevina was coming back, Hosszu
:44:12. > :44:17.smashes the water. Well, she has won European titles at a number of
:44:18. > :44:23.distances, and now she adds the 200 backstroke. Her season's best as
:44:24. > :44:30.well, so she is getting faster through the year. The power off the
:44:31. > :44:39.start by Zevina, right out of the water, good leg strength for that.
:44:40. > :44:43.Hosszu already ahead. Getting tough for her in the closing stages,
:44:44. > :44:54.Zevina was coming back at her. Oh, she wanted that wall so much!
:44:55. > :44:58.Katinka Hosszu is the European champion in the women's 200 metres
:44:59. > :45:04.backstroke, very close behind, though, Daryna Zevina of the
:45:05. > :45:09.Ukraine. We touched on Katinka Hosszu's busy
:45:10. > :45:12.schedule just before that race, here is her schedule for the week. Two
:45:13. > :45:32.gold medals in the bag already. They are not easy, quick events, how
:45:33. > :45:34.much does a butterfly race take it out of you might that looks like one
:45:35. > :45:46.of the hardest. The distance events take a lot more
:45:47. > :45:50.out of you. There is a build-up, but you can remove that pretty quick.
:45:51. > :45:54.With distance, it takes longer. But this is what she does. This is not
:45:55. > :46:00.new to her, it is not the first time she has tried this. Very similar to
:46:01. > :46:04.Hannah Miley in that way. How easy is it, and I believe we have a
:46:05. > :46:10.technical glitch... Can you hear about that. How easy is it to carry
:46:11. > :46:15.bad form into the Olympics? We were about that. How easy is it to carry
:46:16. > :46:22.talking about how she might perform this week, but can you stay at their
:46:23. > :46:28.peak? For her, I think at the moment she is swimming through this. She
:46:29. > :46:32.will not be rested completely. But she will have already qualified for
:46:33. > :46:37.Hungary, based on the results last year. This will be a training week
:46:38. > :46:42.for her. Every metre she goes to, she performs near her mast.
:46:43. > :46:46.for her. Every metre she goes to, meeting. And the way her coach and
:46:47. > :46:51.team carry on, that is a spectator sport in itself. They are very
:46:52. > :46:54.aggressive. Nothing wrong with a bit of passion! Last night, Fran Halsall
:46:55. > :46:57.swam our second fastest of passion! Last night, Fran Halsall
:46:58. > :47:10.final and she has of passion! Last night, Fran Halsall
:47:11. > :47:16.the shape of Sarah Sjoestroem. Fran Halsall, still in
:47:17. > :47:23.to be silver?! It is! Brilliant. Fran Halsall has certainly got more
:47:24. > :47:31.in her. And at last, called for Great Britain. Gold again for Fran
:47:32. > :47:42.Halsall. What a double. Fran Halsall! European champion, a
:47:43. > :47:47.tremendous week. The final of the women's 50 metres
:47:48. > :47:54.butterfly, Fran Halsall, the fastest qualifier in four and the world
:47:55. > :48:04.record-holder is in five. A good, clean start and a fast one from lane
:48:05. > :48:05.three. Bataclan Hassell has a fast turnover. Nice and flat in the
:48:06. > :48:18.water. turnover. Nice and flat in the
:48:19. > :48:28.working hard. Come on! It looks like may be the silver went to Otterson.
:48:29. > :48:37.-- Jeff Maggert. And the bronze goes to Fran Halsall. The winner, 24
:48:38. > :48:47.point nine. And 41 hundredths back, Fran Halsall. What a great race that
:48:48. > :48:53.was. Fantastic. A good start from Jeanette Otteson. Sarah Sjoestroem,
:48:54. > :49:02.no breaths. She nailed the turn. Jeanette Otteson. Sarah Sjoestroem,
:49:03. > :49:08.close. And there is the winner. So the World Champion defends her 50
:49:09. > :49:14.metres butterfly championship title here at the European Championships.
:49:15. > :49:20.24.9, Sarah Sjoestroem. Otteson the silver and Fran Halsall, a great
:49:21. > :49:27.bronze. Fantastic, another bronze medal. Yes, two tents under 25, I
:49:28. > :49:31.would have been happy with that. It is a good step for the rest of the
:49:32. > :49:37.week. Were you hoping to tire them out? Maybe, but those girls know
:49:38. > :49:42.what they are doing. It is a good race and I really enjoyed it. It
:49:43. > :49:47.shows, with butterfly, the Finnish means a lot. I had not nailed it
:49:48. > :49:51.tonight. I am happy. When you watched it back, it looked as if you
:49:52. > :49:55.had got it but she did not bring her hands in front. It is all about
:49:56. > :50:01.nailing the finish. Last night I had the most perfect race. Tonight, the
:50:02. > :50:06.finish was a bit off, but a finish is what it is. I am just happy with
:50:07. > :50:10.the medal. And the lead changes all the time. What goes through your
:50:11. > :50:14.head when you have the gall last? It is quite an easy job because you
:50:15. > :50:20.know where you are in the race. If you are head, you can chill out down
:50:21. > :50:25.the first 50. It is just about knowing the tactics of it and making
:50:26. > :50:30.sure you are in a good position. Hopefully, we will be part of the
:50:31. > :50:33.competition. Defend their title, well done. A proud moment for Fran
:50:34. > :50:42.Halsall, receiving a bronze medal they are, another European medal.
:50:43. > :50:49.She has God one heck of a medal haul. This will be her third
:50:50. > :50:54.Olympics. I believe how about three Olympics, this will be the one where
:50:55. > :50:57.she competes for a medal. And we can see her walking around the aquatic
:50:58. > :51:03.centre now, taking in the crowd, because it is fair to say that it is
:51:04. > :51:08.a loud and proud crowd. As swimmers, it must be nice to see youth groups
:51:09. > :51:19.coming in, the swimming stars of the future. Yes. And I speak for both of
:51:20. > :51:22.us, at the beginning of the career, you want to race in America, and you
:51:23. > :51:26.like the glitz and glamour but when it came down to it, the ones that
:51:27. > :51:31.mean the most are the home crowd. It is not just the friends and family,
:51:32. > :51:35.but the next generation of British swimmers can come and watch and the
:51:36. > :51:39.fans of swimming can come and cheer for you. In here, it is that noise,
:51:40. > :51:43.it is quite deafening up there, so I do not know what it is like down
:51:44. > :51:47.there. And Fran Halsall seems like the kind of person that feeds off
:51:48. > :51:52.the crowd. We heard Chloe and Molly saying that earlier, they are really
:51:53. > :51:56.enjoying it. When you are at so many mass of competitions, do you
:51:57. > :52:00.remember to enjoy it? With a bit of distance, was it just getting the
:52:01. > :52:06.job done or did you enjoy it? The older you get, you become less
:52:07. > :52:10.overwhelmed of it -- with it, and you do enjoy the home crowd.
:52:11. > :52:15.Especially someone like Fran, she has a big personality, and she loves
:52:16. > :52:19.this sort of thing. She soaks up the atmosphere. But as you get older,
:52:20. > :52:23.you appreciate it more. When you are first on the team, you are a bit
:52:24. > :52:29.scared but towards the end of your career, as you grow up, you relish
:52:30. > :52:34.the crowd. And we will see her a little bit later in the medley
:52:35. > :52:38.relay. But now, James Guy, we have been talking a lot about him. He
:52:39. > :52:42.failed to make it to the 400 metres semifinal but he has made it to the
:52:43. > :52:52.200 metres semifinals. Let's see how he gets on. A first semifinal of the
:52:53. > :53:02.men's 200 metres freestyle. Very interesting. Stefanovic in four. We
:53:03. > :53:09.thought he was going to win that. I am delighted to be joined by Karen
:53:10. > :53:12.Pickering, herself the World Champion in the 200 metres. This
:53:13. > :53:17.will be a fascinating first semifinal. I will these guys
:53:18. > :53:24.swimming, tactically. The 200 metre freestyle has almost become a sprint
:53:25. > :53:32.event. But some of the guys will have a 400 background, like
:53:33. > :53:36.Stjepanovic. But they will be strong in the closing stages. There are
:53:37. > :53:41.other swimmers good at 50 and 100, and they will need to make the most
:53:42. > :53:48.of their speed in the opening part. The whole race is quicker than it
:53:49. > :53:56.used to be. Stjepanovic there, he is good at 400. They have to be strong,
:53:57. > :54:01.but you cannot sit back too much. You cannot use too much energy. You
:54:02. > :54:07.have to give yourself a chance to finish strong. Is that the tactic,
:54:08. > :54:16.go out fast and comeback last? Ideally, that is the plan! That is
:54:17. > :54:19.what working towards. And that is why you are the World Champion in
:54:20. > :54:38.the 200 metres freestyle and I am sitting, dating. Felix back, his
:54:39. > :54:49.first freestyle semifinal. -- Felix Stjepanovic.
:54:50. > :55:01.Let's see how Karen's tactics pan out here. First out, fastback. The
:55:02. > :55:08.first semifinal of the men's 200 metre freestyle. The favourite,
:55:09. > :55:20.Stjepanovic, the defending champion in lean four. A cagey start. Only
:55:21. > :55:28.Stjepanovic making a move. I did not think he took the race on and off in
:55:29. > :55:34.the 400 freestyle. But six tenths of a second ahead of the field already.
:55:35. > :55:38.This is the Stjepanovic we know. Six tenths ahead of 50, that is not too
:55:39. > :55:46.bad! Obviously, he is listening to me. It is simple, really. He knows
:55:47. > :55:51.that he does not have the strength. To give himself a chance, he needs
:55:52. > :56:02.to get out ahead of the field. Stjepanovic over first.
:56:03. > :56:15.Casper matches back third. -- Kacper Majchrzak third. Tying up a little
:56:16. > :56:35.bit in the middle. Verschuren leading. He went down
:56:36. > :56:39.like a shot, and Stjepanovic is trying to hold on. Kacper Majchrzak,
:56:40. > :56:44.the Polish swimmer, on the lane trying to hold on. Kacper Majchrzak,
:56:45. > :56:47.line, trying to get the drag out of Stjepanovic. It looks like
:56:48. > :56:52.Verschuren will get to the touch. And he does. Kacper Majchrzak
:56:53. > :57:03.second, and Stjepanovic third. And the times are pretty quick. 45.8.
:57:04. > :57:07.Very fast indeed. Three guys under 1.4 seven. A little surprised that
:57:08. > :57:14.it was so fast. They did not look like it would passed out -- pan out
:57:15. > :57:17.that way. But with Verschuren finishing so strong. Good to see
:57:18. > :57:20.that way. But with Verschuren Stjepanovic taking the race on.
:57:21. > :57:21.that way. But with Verschuren is what he needed to do. I think it
:57:22. > :57:25.will be the same final in the is what he needed to do. I think it
:57:26. > :57:33.tactics -- in the same tactics in the final.
:57:34. > :57:35.tactics -- in the same tactics in almost touch together, but that is
:57:36. > :57:37.how close it was. The defending champion, Stjepanovic, will be in
:57:38. > :57:43.the final, I am sure. champion, Stjepanovic, will be in
:57:44. > :57:47.Majchrzak of Poland in third and the rest will have to wait.
:57:48. > :57:53.Majchrzak of Poland in third and the what James Guy is thinking now.
:57:54. > :58:03.Three guys under 1.4 seven. 1.46 must be the target for the second
:58:04. > :58:09.semifinal. The men's 200 freestyle, James Guy in lane five, the second
:58:10. > :58:17.faster qualifier. But Glenn Surgeloose had a great start this
:58:18. > :58:22.morning. What is James Guy, the World Champion, currently thinking?
:58:23. > :58:27.Eocene quick first semifinal. He did not swimmer well at the 400, but he
:58:28. > :58:32.had a good crack at the heats this morning. Good for him. He put that
:58:33. > :58:35.400 experience behind him. I think he might have underestimated out of
:58:36. > :58:43.that would be to get through to the final of the 400. It was a bit of a
:58:44. > :58:51.wake-up call. But it is good to see that he came back strong. That 1.45,
:58:52. > :58:55.it would have given him a shock. He leads the world rankings at the
:58:56. > :58:58.moment, seven tenths quicker. But there is an advantage for the
:58:59. > :59:01.swimmers in the semifinals, having seen what is ahead of
:59:02. > :59:07.swimmers in the semifinals, having know what they have to do. Sometimes
:59:08. > :59:13.it can be a bit quick. But they look focused and calm. Beasley, they have
:59:14. > :59:21.not shaved. They might put proper trunks on today. Very brave to swim
:59:22. > :59:31.with that skimpy bathing suit in the 400. But he put that right this
:59:32. > :59:37.morning. His freestyle looks very good indeed. It is fair to say that
:59:38. > :59:40.he is completely un-arrested. A lot of the big guys are. Interesting to
:59:41. > :59:44.see that they are not arrested at all, and they just have to fight to
:59:45. > :59:48.make sure they do a professional job. You might not see the
:59:49. > :59:50.difference between rested and not rested, but they certainly feel it.
:59:51. > :00:04.In the closing stages, it hurts. The fastest qualifier, Surgeloose
:00:05. > :00:08.there, from Belgium, in lane four, James Guy is one lane up for him.
:00:09. > :00:17.The black hat for the Belgian, dark blue for James Guy in five. And Guy
:00:18. > :00:22.had a very good reaction to the gun there, and a pretty good start,
:00:23. > :00:27.probably Surgeloose up just about the best and the first 25 metres.
:00:28. > :00:33.Great start from Surgeloose, already got a medal in his pocket, that has
:00:34. > :00:37.got to feel good, bronze as part of the freestyle relay yesterday.
:00:38. > :00:42.Always good when you start picking up medals early. James Guy taking
:00:43. > :00:46.the race on, great to see such a talented swimmer and only 20 years
:00:47. > :00:52.old. Not a lot of experience yet, even though he is the reigning world
:00:53. > :00:59.champion. Every meet he does, he will be learning, using it to his
:01:00. > :01:02.advantage. When he comes up against older swimmers in the summer, he
:01:03. > :01:07.will be learning from everything he does. This is what we like to see,
:01:08. > :01:13.gutsy swim from James Guy. See has worked very hard than the first 100
:01:14. > :01:15.metres, he turns first, but Surgeloose saw him about ten metres
:01:16. > :01:22.down into that, and we saw him start Surgeloose saw him about ten metres
:01:23. > :01:26.to work hard. Still James Guy working it well, and if he can keep
:01:27. > :01:30.this up, with 50 metres to go at this turn, he has a great chance of
:01:31. > :01:38.getting a centre lane for this final. Much more impressive at the
:01:39. > :01:41.moment, 50 to go. Good turn for Surgeloose, but the crowd will help
:01:42. > :01:46.James Guy, because he will be feeling it. When you are not as
:01:47. > :01:49.rested as you can be at a major championship, it really starts to
:01:50. > :01:56.hurt. The first tab will be harder than normal, but this is about guts
:01:57. > :02:02.and determination. Much better from James Guy, really fighting down this
:02:03. > :02:09.last term. He is back, he wins the second semifinal of the men's 200
:02:10. > :02:13.metres freestyle, his time is quick, not quite as fast as the first semi,
:02:14. > :02:22.but he will have a centre lane into the final tomorrow evening. We took
:02:23. > :02:28.on a big guy in Glenn Surgeloose, interesting tactics, very fast down
:02:29. > :02:34.the first 50 and 100. It had to be done, he got away well and took the
:02:35. > :02:37.race on. In this situation, no point sitting back and waiting, you need
:02:38. > :02:44.is to attack the race. Surgeloose gave of a challenge, but Jolie
:02:45. > :02:49.enough to take second place in that second semifinal. -- but only
:02:50. > :02:56.enough. James Guy wins the second semifinal, Surgeloose is second.
:02:57. > :03:00.Andrea Dorigo of Italy is third. I'm pretty sure James Guy will have one
:03:01. > :03:05.of the three centre lanes, he is third fastest into the final. There
:03:06. > :03:11.we go, Sebastiaan Verschuren was fastest. Surgeloose is fourth, what
:03:12. > :03:15.a final that is going to be, goodness me!
:03:16. > :03:20.I think we all can breathe a collective sigh of relief, because
:03:21. > :03:23.nobody wants to see anyone fall short of their potential. We talked
:03:24. > :03:30.a lot about what happened yesterday, he had something to prove. I felt
:03:31. > :03:35.for him in that last 100, because I know what it is like, in really hard
:03:36. > :03:40.training, the second 100 hertz, pure pain. When you are not rested, it
:03:41. > :03:45.does not come easy, he just wanted to prove that he's taking it
:03:46. > :03:51.seriously, he's a world-class athlete, that is what he wanted to
:03:52. > :03:56.prove. He is with Sharron now. James, a better swim, Becky Watts a
:03:57. > :04:03.new wanted to prove that yesterday was a glitch. Programme -- but he
:04:04. > :04:11.saying you wanted. Yes, back to the old James Guy, nice to have the home
:04:12. > :04:16.crowd. The shaving down, tell us about that, what it does to you, to
:04:17. > :04:22.your head and physically, what is it worth to you? It is hard, a lot of
:04:23. > :04:29.guys say they shave down, look at their head and body, it is hard,
:04:30. > :04:35.because I want to race fast, but when you are shaved down, it makes a
:04:36. > :04:43.huge difference, I think. Third in the final, in the middle, it will be
:04:44. > :04:49.a close race. Yes, Sebastiaan Verschuren was very quick, but I
:04:50. > :04:54.will try my best. So far tonight, Adam Peaty has a
:04:55. > :04:56.gold medal, Ross Murdoch has a silver, talk us through this
:04:57. > :05:07.glorious moment. Glorious it is, and on the
:05:08. > :05:14.right-hand side of that shot, Giedrius Titenis has got his bronze
:05:15. > :05:17.medal already. Great Britain's Ross Murdoch wins the silver in the men's
:05:18. > :05:23.100 metres breaststroke at the European Championships. Commonwealth
:05:24. > :05:26.champion at 200 breaststroke, World Championship runs last year, one
:05:27. > :05:31.better now, silver medal at the Europeans. A wave to the camera.
:05:32. > :05:43.Looking forward to seeing what he can do in Rio. Great swim from Ross,
:05:44. > :05:48.he knows Adam will go out like a train, he just has to try to close
:05:49. > :05:54.down in the second half of the race. He has to be calm about it, and he
:05:55. > :05:57.did just that today. Well, the Commonwealth champion, the world
:05:58. > :06:01.champion, he has just successfully defended his European Championship
:06:02. > :06:06.title. He is the world record-holder. And in two and a half
:06:07. > :06:13.months' time, I wonder if he will complete the set and become Olympic
:06:14. > :06:17.champion. This has been all about a stepping stone to Rio, he said.
:06:18. > :06:22.Well, that victory may well be a small step to the fastest
:06:23. > :06:25.breaststroke in history, a giant leap on his road to Rio. European
:06:26. > :07:26.champion Ross Murdoch. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
:07:27. > :07:33.Well, he is a new British superstar, and in Britain, where this event
:07:34. > :07:40.really has been right at the top of our nation's history, he is the
:07:41. > :07:43.fastest man ever, the fastest breast stroke in history.
:07:44. > :07:48.fastest man ever, the fastest breast Look at that, Adam Peaty gets the
:07:49. > :07:52.gold, Murdoch the silver, 1-2 for Great Britain, wonder., both
:07:53. > :07:59.unrested, and not far to the Olympics. -- wonderful stuff. Great
:08:00. > :08:02.times for British swimming, a lot of swimmers around the world will be
:08:03. > :08:06.looking at that and be a little bit worried.
:08:07. > :08:09.looking at that and be a little bit as well, he has done a lot of weight
:08:10. > :08:16.training, much stronger than he was last year. Such a lovely bloke, so
:08:17. > :08:18.calm, so nice, so pleasant. When you meet him like that, he does not seem
:08:19. > :08:23.to have the fire and meet him like that, he does not seem
:08:24. > :08:27.a lot of real champions have, but my goodness me, in the pool you would
:08:28. > :08:33.not mess with him. They say you have got to watch the quiet ones! It is
:08:34. > :08:41.great to see two Brits picking up the medals, what do feel about the
:08:42. > :08:45.electronic flag going up? Indeed! I suspect I love those people
:08:46. > :08:48.hustling him are not asking for his autograph, they are trying to work
:08:49. > :08:54.out how quickly they can get him back into the changing rooms, he has
:08:55. > :08:58.got a relay just around the corner. That is incredible, so lovely, his
:08:59. > :09:03.mum and grandma are sitting right next to us, she is filming it an
:09:04. > :09:10.iPad! The BBC will send you the footage! Adam and Ross, credits to
:09:11. > :09:14.Ross as well, he is often pushed to the side because of what an amazing
:09:15. > :09:19.athlete Adam is, but Ross swam an incredible race as well. Such a
:09:20. > :09:28.strength in depth in that event, we have had over the years, look back
:09:29. > :09:35.to that, and we have now got a history with BT, Murdoch, Jamieson.
:09:36. > :09:38.You kind of forget that Murdoch, that is a wonderful opportunity to
:09:39. > :09:43.have two guys on the rostrum, and we have not had that since you add Joe
:09:44. > :09:50.Jackson! It did not happen away before then. Last year was a very
:09:51. > :09:56.successful year, the World Championships were brilliant. In the
:09:57. > :10:02.4x100m mixed medley relay, Great Britain are world champions. It was
:10:03. > :10:07.great for us to watch, great for spectators, a bit of a surprise. It
:10:08. > :10:11.is a bit of a strange one, having two men and two women, you can swim
:10:12. > :10:15.anywhere you want, you don't have to stick to a particular order. We have
:10:16. > :10:21.Chris Walker-Hebborn, Adam Peaty, Siobhan-Marie O'Connor and Fran
:10:22. > :10:27.Halsall. Tonight will be tough, Walker-Hebborn did not have a great
:10:28. > :10:32.200 metres backstroke, Adam Peaty will be tired, Fran Halsall has not
:10:33. > :10:36.been doing 100s. How will they be feeling? They have already been on
:10:37. > :10:42.the podium tonight, will they be buzzing already for a lie down? It
:10:43. > :10:48.is kind of mixed, isn't it? You walk home exhausted, but the adrenaline
:10:49. > :10:51.will still be flowing. Adam had a great swim, he will still be
:10:52. > :10:57.buzzing. He will be tired in the last 50 metres. Brown may be tired,
:10:58. > :11:12.but they will have another in the bag. It is relay time!
:11:13. > :11:19.Great Britain going in lane four, the fastest qualifier in this
:11:20. > :11:26.morning's heats. And team Sweden are next to team Italy, but we have a
:11:27. > :11:32.fantastic team. So Great Britain start off with Chris Walker-Hebborn
:11:33. > :11:35.on the backstroke, Adam Peaty on the breaststroke, Shelbourne Marie
:11:36. > :11:42.O'Connor on flight, Fran Halsall on freestyle. -- Siobhan-Marie
:11:43. > :11:48.O'Connor. You can put a man and woman on any leg that you want,
:11:49. > :11:53.fascinating tactics. If you want to win, you have to go, man, man,
:11:54. > :11:57.woman, woman, it just works out quicker to have them going first, in
:11:58. > :12:01.terms of the best times, if you have got the option, of course. If you
:12:02. > :12:05.have got the choice, you start with the men, because the difference
:12:06. > :12:12.between men and women is bigger. You have to lead off with two guys,
:12:13. > :12:16.finish with the two girls. It is very difficult to swim behind the
:12:17. > :12:20.waves, even if you have very good swimmers. We had Georgia Davies on
:12:21. > :12:24.the backstroke leg this morning in aids, she swam very well, pretty
:12:25. > :12:30.much 60 flat, but if she was at the gains the really big guys who do it
:12:31. > :12:37.in 54 or 55, five seconds behind, swimming through, like behind a
:12:38. > :12:42.pleasure boat! You can end up getting washed up on the side of the
:12:43. > :12:45.pool if you are not careful. Only Siobhan-Marie O'Connor, are those
:12:46. > :12:52.four, swam in the heats this morning. The others were arrested,
:12:53. > :12:57.Chris Walker-Hebborn, Adam Peaty concentrating on their individuals.
:12:58. > :13:03.They still managed to qualify fastest, the world record-holder is.
:13:04. > :13:07.I was not sure about this event when it was first being put under the
:13:08. > :13:13.programme, I thought just another swim, but seeing as we are so good
:13:14. > :13:22.at it, I quite like it now! Yes! I have to say, the jury is still out a
:13:23. > :13:26.tiny bit for me, it is interesting. So it is not on the Olympic
:13:27. > :13:30.programme, but it is certainly at the World Championships, and we are
:13:31. > :13:41.the waning world champions and world record holders. -- the reigning. So
:13:42. > :13:53.six out of the 17th choosing to start with the men. Right at the
:13:54. > :13:57.bottom, the Moldovans have sent off Salcutan. That is tough, and you
:13:58. > :14:04.will see why they put the men out first, look at that, that is only 15
:14:05. > :14:06.metres in, and the guise of swimming afterwards, it is like swimming
:14:07. > :14:13.behind a bus, it is very difficult indeed! -- the guys. Chris
:14:14. > :14:18.Walker-Hebborn in the dark blue hat has had a decent start. Not a great
:14:19. > :14:23.swim in the individual, he will want to make amends as part of the team,
:14:24. > :14:30.not just letting yourself down but thinking of your team-mates. He will
:14:31. > :14:31.know he has got some superb swimmers to come, you have to give
:14:32. > :14:42.everything, it will be tough, it will hurt in the closing stages.
:14:43. > :14:48.Adam Peaty comes next. He is doing well, because Simone
:14:49. > :14:50.Adam Peaty comes next. He is doing leading, Walker-Hebborn did not make
:14:51. > :14:55.the final, but a very good swim from him. Adam Peaty goes in, and surely
:14:56. > :14:56.we will have the lead after the halfway mark, the world champion,
:14:57. > :15:04.the defending champion of the 100 halfway mark, the world champion,
:15:05. > :15:08.fantastic! Well, of course, Italy halfway mark, the world champion,
:15:09. > :15:11.have got one of the women swimming their breaststroke leg, a real
:15:12. > :15:16.disadvantage, but what a difference Adam Peaty has made in just 50
:15:17. > :15:22.metres. I mean, he must be feeling it after that fantastic European
:15:23. > :15:26.title, only just won that, this is almost like a training session,
:15:27. > :15:29.getting back into do another fast swim. Look at the great on his face,
:15:30. > :15:42.gritting his teeth, he wants it! Absolutely powering away. Chris
:15:43. > :15:48.Walker-Hebborn headed off. And now we are going to have Siobhan-Marie
:15:49. > :15:54.O'Connor. It was quite tight, the handover. Great Britain first, with
:15:55. > :16:02.Hungary second, Sweden third. Fourth, at the moment, down in lane
:16:03. > :16:07.Hungary second, Sweden third. there is a man chasing Siobhan-Marie
:16:08. > :16:09.O'Connor in five as the Italians are chasing. But
:16:10. > :16:13.O'Connor in five as the Italians are behind. A lot of work to do when you
:16:14. > :16:20.dive in and you see someone 50 metres ahead. But Siobhan-Marie
:16:21. > :16:21.O'Connor, on her own in the middle. She did so well this morning to get
:16:22. > :16:27.the team through to the finals. She did so well this morning to get
:16:28. > :16:32.Really, she is being chased by the She did so well this morning to get
:16:33. > :16:34.Italian. She is going to have a fantastic finish but
:16:35. > :16:37.Italian. She is going to have a hold on, going into the water will
:16:38. > :16:40.be Fran Halsall, of course. She needs to get every opportunity. The
:16:41. > :16:49.final leg of this mixed relay. Fran needs to get every opportunity. The
:16:50. > :16:54.Britain. And she is being chased by Pellegrini from Italy. Surely she
:16:55. > :17:02.cannot catch up this much? And our World Champion team, Pellegrini is
:17:03. > :17:06.absolutely flying. She absolutely loves a relay. She loves the chase.
:17:07. > :17:13.An absolutely loves a relay. She loves the chase.
:17:14. > :17:21.relay swimmer. Fran is a sprinter. She is going to be hurting. She has
:17:22. > :17:28.got to dig deep and hang on. Pellegrini will be sensing her,
:17:29. > :17:32.chasing her down. Fran Halsall won a medal on the 50 metres butterfly.
:17:33. > :17:34.But Pellegrini is not giving up. Great Britain will win their second
:17:35. > :17:44.gold medal of this Championships, and it is golden for team Great
:17:45. > :17:49.Britain. Chris Walker-Hebborn started with the backstroke and then
:17:50. > :17:52.it was Adam Peaty, who already has two gold medals, then Siobhan-Marie
:17:53. > :18:01.O'Connor O'Connor and bringing it home and fantastic style, Fran
:18:02. > :18:07.Halsall. Superb from Great Britain. Strong stuff. Fran is a superb on
:18:08. > :18:11.the anchor leg. She loves a relay. Talk about Pellegrini liking the
:18:12. > :18:17.thrill of that chase, but honestly, who was going to get past Fran? Have
:18:18. > :18:28.you changed your mind a little bit on how much fun the next medley
:18:29. > :18:39.relay is? -- next medley. Well done, they are the world champions and now
:18:40. > :18:42.the European champions. And you cannot underestimate the power of
:18:43. > :18:48.getting medals in relays. Four swimmers going back to their hotel
:18:49. > :18:54.as European champions. It has an impact. It is so important to team
:18:55. > :18:59.spirit. They will be having fun together. It is not just about
:19:00. > :19:04.individuals, it is good fun, a relay. It certainly is. They have
:19:05. > :19:09.not quite made the score board official. A few nervous swimmers
:19:10. > :19:15.around. But you can see the guys looking down at the other end of the
:19:16. > :19:23.pool. Just waiting to see. They need to put it in. And the crowd, a tiny
:19:24. > :19:34.bit nervous also. This could be interesting. I hope there is nothing
:19:35. > :19:38.too tight on the changeovers. Well, we can see on our computer that
:19:39. > :19:50.there is nothing wrong with the British times, as far as we can see.
:19:51. > :20:00.The second one, zero .2 six. Adam Peters -- Adam Peaty's handover was
:20:01. > :20:03.good. Fran Halsall, 0.3 four. And I think we will have a
:20:04. > :20:14.disqualification. I'm not quite sure why. The handover times looked all
:20:15. > :20:18.right. But the time between touching the wall and the toes of the next
:20:19. > :20:22.swimmer leaving the block. I can tell you that Norway have been
:20:23. > :20:28.disqualified. The results in the final race of the second day of the
:20:29. > :20:33.European Championships, 2016, Great Britain win their second gold medal
:20:34. > :20:46.in the 4x100 next medley relay. The goals to Britain Musselburgh to
:20:47. > :20:51.Italy. Bronze to Hungary. Take a bow, of four. The crowd came and
:20:52. > :20:56.they delivered. It is a relatively new event and that is currently a
:20:57. > :21:00.crowd pleaser. And they were so far ahead, they were going to win this
:21:01. > :21:05.event on paper. But they all put in solid performances. A good time from
:21:06. > :21:08.Chris, a solid time from Adam. Siobhan-Marie O'Connor, it was nice
:21:09. > :21:13.to see her get in the plural because we have not seen her race yet. And
:21:14. > :21:19.Fran says she is not good at the freestyle but that was a great time.
:21:20. > :21:24.Do the hundred! We love that event. It has only been raced three times.
:21:25. > :21:28.Twice at the Europeans, twice at the World Championships. And lead
:21:29. > :21:33.changes so much that it is exciting to watch, especially for crowd. We
:21:34. > :21:37.love it because we are good at it as well! Before the race we spoke about
:21:38. > :21:41.Adam, how he had just won a gold medal and had to get straight back
:21:42. > :21:45.in the pool. Would he be buzzing or tired? I think it was fair to say
:21:46. > :21:51.that he loved it. He would have been tired towards the end. But it is
:21:52. > :21:57.going to be tiring. He is only human. But the time was 0.5 slower
:21:58. > :22:01.than he had just done. But it doesn't matter. It is about the
:22:02. > :22:13.race. He was not going about a time. As long as he did the job for the
:22:14. > :22:21.team, job done. Let's look back at it. The final of the men's 100
:22:22. > :22:25.metres backstroke and this is wide open. Some great juniors, five
:22:26. > :22:39.former European junior champions in this. The fastest qualifier,
:22:40. > :22:46.Christou of Greece, in four but it will be interesting to see what
:22:47. > :22:50.happens in six. The 31-year-old, can that carry him through? Maybe the
:22:51. > :22:56.youngsters are better prepared for this event. Just giving it
:22:57. > :23:12.everything they have got at the moment. What a turn. Coming out
:23:13. > :23:21.ahead of the field, Christou. And at the moment, it is Lacourt. Heavy
:23:22. > :23:28.training. The Russian coming back in lane five. Is he going to get the
:23:29. > :23:33.touch? Did he win its? He did, but he stuck in an extra armour when he
:23:34. > :23:38.did not need to. Apparently he did not dive, he put in an extra move.
:23:39. > :23:42.He is about six foot nine, you would think he would just have reached for
:23:43. > :23:48.the wall. He is delighted with that swim. That is experienced that
:23:49. > :23:51.carried him through. And here we see that beautiful underwater work that
:23:52. > :23:59.the backstroke swimmers have. Breaking the surface into that turn.
:24:00. > :24:06.Lacourt, again, supreme of the wall. He went in together, but came out
:24:07. > :24:08.ahead. In the closing stages, he was feeling there. And it was the
:24:09. > :24:20.youngster getting that finished right, him. The result of the men's
:24:21. > :24:27.100 metre backstroke, Camille Lacourt becomes a champion. The
:24:28. > :24:33.silver for Tarasevich. Turning our attention to the semifinal of the
:24:34. > :24:39.women's 100 metre freestyle. A very competitive field of this one. The
:24:40. > :24:49.first semifinal, the swimmer from Holland was fastest. No surprises
:24:50. > :24:53.there. And in the second semifinal, it was the Olympic champion who
:24:54. > :24:56.touched the wall first, closely it was the Olympic champion who
:24:57. > :25:07.followed by Sarah Sjoestroem of Sweden.
:25:08. > :25:15.So and we will see that tomorrow night.
:25:16. > :25:23.It has been a very successful might for Britain in the pool. At the
:25:24. > :25:26.moment we are seeing Katinka Hosszu collect her 10th individual European
:25:27. > :25:30.title. Congratulations to her and we will see her in the pool quite a few
:25:31. > :25:40.more times later in the week. She loves being on telly, that women!
:25:41. > :25:45.Congratulations to the British swimmers. Tonight. Five medals, that
:25:46. > :25:49.is a great night. Last night, Hannah Miley did a great job, but five
:25:50. > :25:54.tonight, hopefully that will set up the team to build on this momentum.
:25:55. > :26:00.Maybe tomorrow we will get six! And at the moment Britain is sitting at
:26:01. > :26:05.the top of the medal table. Two gold, two bronze, two silver. We did
:26:06. > :26:09.enjoy the relay. We were saying the same thing at Berlin. The first time
:26:10. > :26:14.we topped the medal table. We went in with a strong lead. Olympic
:26:15. > :26:17.swimmers, the Olympic Games, they are stepping up against the best
:26:18. > :26:22.that Europe have to offer and still delivering. Very exciting. The relay
:26:23. > :26:26.was very exciting. And Becky has teamed us up nicely for a night of
:26:27. > :26:30.swimming tomorrow. She is wanting six medals!
:26:31. > :26:33.swimming tomorrow. She is wanting From six o'clock we have
:26:34. > :26:38.swimming tomorrow. She is wanting men's 1500 metres freestyle, the
:26:39. > :26:39.women's 200 metre freestyle, featuring James Guy, and the women's
:26:40. > :26:45.100 metre featuring Chloe featuring James Guy, and the women's
:26:46. > :26:52.Molly Renshaw, both going into the final with PBs. What are you looking
:26:53. > :26:57.forward to particularly tomorrow night? It has got to be James Guy.
:26:58. > :27:03.He has been the talk of the past two days. Hopefully he will be able to
:27:04. > :27:07.pick up a medal tomorrow night. He probably should have got that in the
:27:08. > :27:12.400 as well. We have been watching his dad all evening, going like
:27:13. > :27:16.this! It is so hard, I feel like going up to him and giving him a hug
:27:17. > :27:21.and saying, it is just the semifinal, you're OK. Plenty to
:27:22. > :27:25.celebrate. If you want to see the full medal ceremony of the mixed
:27:26. > :27:31.medley 4x100, you can do on the BBC sport website. Finally, Adam Peaty
:27:32. > :27:35.will be able to sit down and have a rest! Thank you for your company
:27:36. > :27:38.this evening. If you want to join us tomorrow night, we are on your
:27:39. > :27:45.television from 6:30pm on BBC Two but you will not miss a race if you
:27:46. > :27:48.press the red button at 6pm. So they two of the swimming, successful all
:27:49. > :27:54.around. Thank you very much for your company and hopefully we will have
:27:55. > :27:58.you with us tomorrow. Becky and Mark will be with us again, and they will
:27:59. > :28:02.be with us all week. The rest of the week is shaping up to be pretty
:28:03. > :28:07.exciting, isn't it? Who else are you looking forward to seeing? I am
:28:08. > :28:10.looking forward to the distance races, so Jazz Carlin in the 800
:28:11. > :28:13.metres, I am looking forward to that. And Siobhan-Marie O'Connor,
:28:14. > :28:18.who we have seen tonight getting a gold medal in the relay, I looking
:28:19. > :28:21.forward to her 200-metre individual medley. We're joking about the fact
:28:22. > :28:25.that we are watching the friends and family who look so nervous and
:28:26. > :28:28.anxious, and hopefully they will be able to enjoy themselves as the week
:28:29. > :28:31.goes on and they should certainly look back on the night as a very
:28:32. > :28:36.successful evening in the pool.
