:00:22. > :00:26.

:00:26. > :00:30.The wonderful stalls here really are a treat for the senses but

:00:30. > :00:40.tonight at Palau Sant Jordi we have a feast of swimming. Five finals,

:00:40. > :01:15.

:01:15. > :01:22.including two British women going Hello, welcome back to Barcelona

:01:22. > :01:25.for the fifth night of finals here at Palau Sant Jordi. The atmosphere

:01:25. > :01:30.is electric. Mark and Becky are excited because we have two British

:01:30. > :01:34.women going in the 50 metre backstroke final. We also have the

:01:34. > :01:38.200 metre breaststroke semi-finals with Michael Jamieson and the very

:01:38. > :01:44.much in form Andrew Willis going in that later. Let's get on with

:01:44. > :01:49.tonight. We are going to start with the women's semi-finals for the

:01:49. > :01:53.freestyle. Missy Franklin has three gold medals so far. This isn't her

:01:53. > :02:03.strongest event. It is Australian's Kate Campbell who is the girl

:02:03. > :02:21.

:02:21. > :02:31.the USA. Some real big guns in here. A good start in three, the Olympic

:02:31. > :03:01.

:03:01. > :03:08.bronze Melalist from China. just it. That was close. Franklin

:03:08. > :03:18.gets it. It looks like it's going to take

:03:18. > :03:22.

:03:22. > :03:32.sub 54 to make the final. 53.99. Was Vreeland.

:03:32. > :03:32.

:03:32. > :04:47.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:04:47. > :04:51.Campbell and in her heat, she was 53 flat from Cate Campbell. She was

:04:51. > :05:01.very comfortable. She was seven tenths faster leading off the

:05:01. > :05:15.

:05:15. > :05:20.it must give you confidence to get the title behind you going into

:05:20. > :05:27.that one. I felt 100m were perfect for me now. It felt so easy in

:05:27. > :05:33.there, so relaxed and controlled. It was a perfect event. We know who

:05:33. > :05:37.is in the final now of the women's 100 metre free stril. From those

:05:37. > :05:42.semi-finals where are the main challenges coming from? Cate

:05:42. > :05:48.Campbell, she had a slow start but she got into it, she eased off

:05:48. > :05:55.towards the last 15. You knew she was going to make it. She looked

:05:55. > :06:03.incredible. Slower today, looked like she was easing up at the end.

:06:03. > :06:07.Talented family, that family. Sarah is having a good week, got her gold,

:06:07. > :06:13.she's 19-years-old. Is she a name you think we may hear more about in

:06:13. > :06:20.Rio? Definitely. If you look back in 2008 she won the 100 fly at the

:06:20. > :06:25.age of 14. She has always been there or thereabouts. Winning the

:06:26. > :06:33.100 fly. I think in this race, I don't think she is going to win it,

:06:33. > :06:37.but she can challenge for it. Cate Campbell has a bit in reserve

:06:37. > :06:41.having gone faster in the freestyle lead-off. Do you want to show your

:06:41. > :06:47.hand or save something for the final. It is an interesting race.

:06:47. > :06:53.Missy Franklin is going to come back fast as well. It is the men's

:06:53. > :07:03.200 metre individual medley next. Ryan Lochte looking for his third

:07:03. > :07:05.

:07:05. > :07:15.successive championship win. There is the ever green Hungarian

:07:15. > :07:15.

:07:15. > :07:55.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:07:55. > :08:05.and the Brazilians are coming ahead It is unusual to see see Hagio this

:08:05. > :08:40.

:08:40. > :08:43.far now. He's worked hard on this and made

:08:43. > :08:53.such an impact last night in the semi-finals. And doing the same

:08:53. > :08:58.

:08:58. > :09:08.Lochte first to turn. Pereira second, Hagino third and

:09:08. > :09:26.

:09:26. > :09:31.the charge is coming from the whole Lochte.

:09:31. > :09:41.It's gold to the USA and Ryan Lochte. The silver has gone to

:09:41. > :09:43.

:09:44. > :09:49.Hagino, what a last 50 that was. Pereira has got a bronze. Hagino

:09:49. > :09:56.finished so strongly. Ryan Lochte, world champion, repeating what

:09:56. > :10:00.Michael Phelps did from 2003, 2005 and 2007. Big nomination in this

:10:00. > :10:07.race. He led it from start to finish. Pereira put the pressure on

:10:07. > :10:13.through to the breaststroke. Lochte's breaststroke has improved

:10:13. > :10:19.so much. Surprised he doesn't enter a 200 breaststroke, Lochte, he

:10:19. > :10:22.would do well. I wonder whether against the real breaststroke

:10:22. > :10:27.specialists he would be in a medal position? He would be in a final,

:10:27. > :10:31.but whether he would be in a medal position and would he waste his

:10:31. > :10:37.energy! Look how much he wins by. The first three are ahead

:10:37. > :10:47.significantly, aren't they. three world titles in a row for

:10:47. > :10:49.

:10:49. > :10:55.America's Ryan Lochte in this men's impressive. That means you are an

:10:55. > :10:59.old man. No, don't say that. I'm still young. Of course you are.I I

:10:59. > :11:03.wasn't really knowing what what to expect out of these World

:11:03. > :11:08.Championships, my training hasn't been there this year, but one thing

:11:08. > :11:18.I know how to do is race. It was a tough race and I am glad a glad I

:11:18. > :11:25.got a win out of that. You won it convinceingly. You have been having

:11:25. > :11:30.a fantastic time having a a reality TV career. Taking girls to

:11:30. > :11:34.restaurants. I had the honour of doing a lot of unique and different

:11:34. > :11:41.things. Outside the pool. But when it comes down to it, I am an

:11:41. > :11:48.Olympic athlete and I am going until 2016, or longer, I don't know

:11:48. > :11:53.yet. Right now my folk sus 2016 I got to get ready for that. He wins

:11:53. > :11:57.his third successive world title. This is his easy year, his down

:11:57. > :12:03.year. Without a doubt. He looked incredible. He went for it from the

:12:03. > :12:07.start. He usually looks better on the breast or Friday style legs. It

:12:07. > :12:11.paid off. A lot of people didn't think he was on good form after

:12:11. > :12:14.coming fourth earlier in the week. He was probably predicted a lot

:12:14. > :12:17.more medals. I suppose there is a pressure whether it comes from

:12:17. > :12:22.himself or other people when you try other things, TV shows as he

:12:22. > :12:26.has been doing, but if you don't produce the goods at the major

:12:26. > :12:32.championships, people question your decisions. Doing the show this year,

:12:32. > :12:36.a lot of people thought is he a swimmer or a celebrity. He's proven

:12:37. > :12:42.there, he probably came in for a lot of stick from the press in

:12:42. > :12:46.America, he was virtually on his world record. He is better than

:12:46. > :12:50.than everybody else, it's lovely to see. When you watch him swim, he

:12:51. > :12:57.always was in Michael Phelps' shadow, although he won his own

:12:57. > :13:01.events. Different characters.Chalk and cheese, he is a surfer. We want

:13:01. > :13:11.characters in the sport, that is what sells the sport. He could have

:13:11. > :13:17.

:13:17. > :13:27.taken a year out. Watch out for Pederson from Denmark, she's done

:13:27. > :13:27.

:13:27. > :14:19.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:14:19. > :14:23.improved, if you are going to find more time on this, where does

:14:23. > :14:27.history go with the 200 breaststroke. You might want to do

:14:27. > :14:30.more of the quicker strokes. She is ahead of the world record. She went

:14:30. > :14:37.out quickly this morning, same thing, but she is going to have

:14:37. > :14:42.half a second ahead of the world record. Goodness me. She looks so

:14:42. > :14:45.good. It looks so effortless when she swims like this. The crowd

:14:45. > :14:51.realising that she's going well. It will be interesting to see whether

:14:51. > :14:57.she keeps this long stroke or whether she starts increasing the

:14:57. > :15:07.rate. What will happen, the plan should

:15:07. > :15:19.

:15:19. > :15:24.be now to really increase the breath.

:15:24. > :15:27.Rebecca Soni is in the crowd tonight.

:15:28. > :15:37.It is amazingly loud here. The crowd screaming every time her head

:15:38. > :15:50.

:15:50. > :15:55.comes up. She is right on world She's got it! Oh my goodness me.

:15:55. > :16:04.0.04 of a second under the world record, a stunning swim. It looked

:16:04. > :16:14.so effortless. It was a wonderful swim. That's great.The crowd took

:16:14. > :16:47.

:16:47. > :16:52.her through and the crowd are on the Olympics last year in lon dochb.

:16:52. > :16:57.Not -- London. Not had much form this week, two from the bottom.

:16:57. > :17:07.The three in the middle the fastest qualifiers. The 19-year-old

:17:07. > :17:08.

:17:08. > :18:08.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:18:08. > :18:12.semi-final of the women's 200 She's gone out very, very hard.

:18:12. > :18:18.She's sped up a bit on that one, half a second away from world

:18:18. > :18:25.record. It is a very, very good swim. In second place with that

:18:25. > :18:30.black hat of the USA, Laurence, a very, very different heat this time.

:18:30. > :18:36.Went for it in the first 100 in the heats, not in the semi-though.

:18:36. > :18:40.stroke has really sped up, really quick arm stroke here. Fantastic

:18:40. > :18:49.finish. The world record is 2.19.11, surely

:18:49. > :18:59.we can't see that go again. wasn't far off. Goodness me.

:18:59. > :19:06.

:19:06. > :19:10.for the women's breaststroke. That's going to be a big final. Who

:19:10. > :19:20.would have thought it. The result of the second semi-

:19:20. > :19:26.

:19:26. > :19:34.200 breaststroke and a world record goes in fastest.

:19:34. > :19:41.What a pair of semi-finals. A world record and then also a sub 2.20.

:19:41. > :19:44.What is going on with women's breaststroke. Two women's

:19:44. > :19:48.breaststroke world records. It is the progression of the stroke, we

:19:48. > :19:52.have seen it happen in the men's, it is getting quicker. There is so

:19:52. > :19:59.much in swimming you can change. That is what they have done. Both

:19:59. > :20:02.of them girls were just unbelievable. Pedersen breaking the

:20:03. > :20:08.world record, who knows who is going to get it tomorrow night. It

:20:08. > :20:14.is going to be an incredible race, who can get the touch. There are so

:20:14. > :20:18.many areas where it can improvement we have flums where you go in and

:20:18. > :20:23.get video analysis done and look at the dead points and strokes, a lot

:20:23. > :20:30.of improvement that a coach can't see. When you are filmed he can

:20:30. > :20:34.break it down. IsWeights are a huge part of swimming programmes,

:20:34. > :20:38.nutrition is a big part of training programmes. It will get to a point

:20:39. > :20:42.where it will slow down. But it is still human beings pushing

:20:42. > :20:46.themselves beyond the limits. We have been fortunate to see that a

:20:46. > :20:52.few times here. It feels like a really high quality meet, because

:20:52. > :20:57.it is a year after the Olympics. When people raise the bar, people

:20:57. > :21:02.didn't think 8.14 was possible and all of a sudden others think OK it

:21:02. > :21:05.is possible for someone to do it and people raise the bar. Once

:21:05. > :21:11.somebody does it, the belief you request do it. Somebody believes

:21:11. > :21:21.out there they are going to win the 100m freestyle. One name, who is

:21:21. > :21:23.

:21:23. > :21:32.going to win it? Adrian.I'll back you, Nathan Adrian.

:21:32. > :21:42.Let's see whether he wins or not. Watch for lane six, and seven, this

:21:42. > :21:42.

:21:42. > :22:34.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:22:34. > :22:39.Good start made in the centre. ago and has done it again. He is

:22:39. > :22:49.the world champion. Silver has gone to Adrian of the

:22:49. > :23:14.

:23:14. > :23:17.USA. No, Fagan has got it from fantastic swim. You said there was

:23:17. > :23:23.more in the tank. That was something to prove maybe? Yes, I

:23:23. > :23:27.think so. I think there was a lot of emotion in the swim for me. I

:23:27. > :23:32.have had a really tough time the last year. Tell us about that,

:23:32. > :23:41.because maybe the Brits don't know, though we like to Australia relish

:23:41. > :23:44.in Australian bashing. I have been down on confidence a bit, a lot of

:23:44. > :23:48.controiersy -- controversy around swimming in Australia and I wanted

:23:49. > :23:53.to get back on top and I have done that, hopefully the Aussie

:23:53. > :23:58.cricketers can follow suit. Did you see the Russian go out, you

:23:58. > :24:04.controlled yourself well, he was 21.9 to his feet. I didn't know

:24:04. > :24:08.that, but I was just concentrating hard on my own race. In the last 15

:24:08. > :24:12.metres, I was ticking through my memory all the stuff that had gone

:24:12. > :24:16.on in the last 12 months and I really used that to spur me on.

:24:16. > :24:20.lived up to the billing. What a race. I don't think you can feel

:24:20. > :24:24.too hard done by with your predictions because it couldn't

:24:24. > :24:27.have been tighter. It was a great swim. Leading to Olympic Games, he

:24:27. > :24:31.had all this pressure on him, he said I am going to win the Olympics

:24:31. > :24:38.and he didn't, Adrian beat him. That is why we went for Adrian.

:24:38. > :24:42.There his time was still great, but Magnussen delivered when he meant

:24:42. > :24:48.to. After the semi-finals I was worried he didn't have it, but just

:24:48. > :24:51.proved when it came to the time he did it. He was holding back.

:24:51. > :24:55.perhaps bowing to the pressure, Australian sport has been through

:24:55. > :24:59.the mill after the Olympics and Australian television for the first

:24:59. > :25:06.time not covering these swimming championships as well. It is a

:25:06. > :25:10.message to them, buck your ideas up, we expect more from you. Definitely.

:25:10. > :25:14.He approached it differently this year. Last year he was shouting

:25:14. > :25:20.around and he stayed under the radar and done it properly this

:25:20. > :25:25.year and his work speaks for itself. It is the right way to go about it.

:25:25. > :25:31.The atmosphere will build again now because it is the 200 metre fly.

:25:31. > :25:35.Expect the roof to come off the Palau Sant Jordi here. If the

:25:35. > :25:45.Spaniard wins, the Spanish are waiting for something special.

:25:45. > :25:59.

:25:59. > :26:09.Let's see if she can deliver. will be interesting to see how she

:26:09. > :26:19.

:26:19. > :26:29.swims this race. Lane one is out quickly as I

:26:29. > :27:02.

:27:02. > :27:08.100 from the Chinese. Second at the turn was Belmonte.

:27:08. > :27:18.Can she hold on. Belmonte is a superb 200 flyer on

:27:18. > :27:41.

:27:41. > :27:44.the second half of the years. still holding on. If the crowd can

:27:44. > :27:54.do anything they are going to lift this girl in the blue cap. It is

:27:54. > :28:05.

:28:05. > :28:15.her Gold Medal if she can finish on the finish. You have won the

:28:15. > :28:16.

:28:16. > :28:26.world title. I am not sure if she's realised if she's won or not. That

:28:26. > :28:27.

:28:27. > :28:32.took a lot out of her. A slightly disappointed Belmonte.

:28:32. > :28:38.She's Olympic champion in Beijing. Now five years later she's world

:28:38. > :28:48.champion, the World Record holder. What a tough race that was. I

:28:48. > :28:54.thought Belmonte was going to come back. She lost the rate by 19100ths

:28:55. > :29:02.of a second Liu eased back on the first 50. I

:29:02. > :29:12.have seen her swim very hard in the first 50. That easing on the first

:29:12. > :29:32.

:29:32. > :29:40.Belmonte didn't say yes. Coming second. You don't know how much I

:29:40. > :29:44.wanted to say the girl from Belmonte she say yes, but no.

:29:44. > :29:49.was Olympic champion five years ago. We talked about who we thought

:29:49. > :29:54.would win. We were hoping it was going to be Belmonte. But it was a

:29:54. > :29:58.great race. 200 fly to me, and I don't do distance, is the hardest

:29:58. > :30:07.race, because if you get it wrong, you talk about elephants on your

:30:07. > :30:12.back and people dying of fatigue, and that is one of the races which

:30:12. > :30:15.is the hardest. She's very strong and that is how you have to be, you

:30:15. > :30:21.have to be built like that to survive the 200 fly. Even though it

:30:21. > :30:25.is only 200m, 200 free is not the same, but butterfly is so different.

:30:25. > :30:28.It is more endurance than you think. You have to be strong. Most of the

:30:28. > :30:33.sprint girls, the 100 fly girls can't make the transition over

:30:33. > :30:39.because it is tough and it is all about the second 100. You just saw

:30:39. > :30:45.there it was an incredible race. love that, it's only 200, it's four

:30:45. > :30:50.times what I did! We only have two men in the first semi-final of the

:30:50. > :31:00.200 breaststroke. Andrew Willis is son form and Michael Jamieson. We

:31:00. > :31:08.

:31:09. > :31:12.caught up with them before the Willis has won the 200 in emphatic

:31:12. > :31:17.style. Michael Jamieson, what a brilliant

:31:17. > :31:21.swim that was, another massive British record. We have an Olympic

:31:21. > :31:27.Silver Medalist here, Michael Jamieson. It is a great memory,

:31:27. > :31:31.particularly in training and on the bad days, it helps get you through.

:31:31. > :31:38.It's just as big now as it was then. It was a career-long goal and

:31:38. > :31:42.something you always hope to achieve in the sport. To have that

:31:42. > :31:46.in the bank now, it gives me great confidence to come and compete at

:31:46. > :31:50.these events, knowing that I can perform at my best and produce best

:31:50. > :31:55.times when it counts. I think at the time I was over the moon with

:31:55. > :31:59.the result I got, and now I look back and kick myself a bit for not

:31:59. > :32:04.really believing I could win gold until it was too late. I don't want

:32:04. > :32:08.to be winning the minor medals now, I want to be challenging for those

:32:08. > :32:17.titles and I would hope that experience has given me the belief

:32:17. > :32:22.to do that. Second was Willis, Andrew Willis's time, 2.08.47, that

:32:22. > :32:28.is a massive lifetime best. I had the meet of my life, great

:32:28. > :32:32.experience, my semi-final swim was a great PB. But disappointment

:32:32. > :32:38.there at the final, I wanted to go quicker and I was sitting down with

:32:38. > :32:41.my coach and changing my mind set, it is not just about progressing in

:32:41. > :32:46.the finals, I have swam Commonwealths and Olympics, it is

:32:46. > :32:49.more about medals. It is a healthy rivalry. We are both good friends

:32:49. > :32:54.outside the pool, and I think we have managed that quite well. We

:32:54. > :32:59.have both been improving pretty well over the last couple of years.

:32:59. > :33:03.He's had another good season, and I think for the both of us, we both

:33:03. > :33:07.have a strength in that we can both produce good results when it counts

:33:07. > :33:11.and when the pressure is on. Come to race day, we are very individual

:33:11. > :33:14.and almost to the point where we won't speak, but there is a mutual

:33:14. > :33:19.understanding this it becomes individual then and it is selfish

:33:19. > :33:23.and focused on yourself. We wish each other luck and at the same

:33:23. > :33:33.time we both benefit from each other being there as well.

:33:33. > :33:49.

:33:49. > :33:54.first semi-final of the men's 200 men's 200m breaststroke.

:33:54. > :34:04.Michael Jamieson at the top and se centre Andrew Willis with the white

:34:04. > :34:23.

:34:23. > :34:27.it is make sure you get in the final. Jamieson looking good at the

:34:27. > :34:32.top as well. Good to see, very high stroke, left-hand side of the

:34:32. > :34:36.picture. Both Brits in one and four, looking decent at the moment. It is

:34:36. > :34:46.good to see Jamieson getting up there. He comes back strongly in

:34:46. > :34:46.

:34:46. > :35:35.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:35:35. > :35:45.hope Jamieson has enough in the tank on the left-hand side there.

:35:45. > :35:58.

:35:58. > :36:02.first, Jamieson third. Jamieson's time, 2.09.66, that

:36:02. > :36:06.should be good enough. It is a big second semi-coming, but I suggest

:36:06. > :36:10.it should be good enough to make the final. It is along the lines of

:36:10. > :36:15.the improvement he made at the Olympics, same sort of thing, he

:36:15. > :36:20.drops down, but really impressed with Andrew Willis. Andrew Willis

:36:20. > :36:27.of Great Britain, wins the first semi-final.

:36:27. > :36:32.Fantastic swim, you felt really comfortable. I kept it long. Even

:36:33. > :36:37.just held back at the end in the last 25 or so. This morning I felt

:36:37. > :36:41.good and I needed to swim that to get the could be webs away, so time

:36:41. > :36:45.happy with that and that felt good. Go back and watch it and check out

:36:45. > :36:49.the the stroke rates and see what I can do from there. You are great

:36:49. > :36:53.mates, have huge respect for each other, but it would be nice to nip

:36:53. > :36:58.out from under his shadow. It would be, but never doubt Michael, he is

:36:58. > :37:08.a great swimmer. Hopefully both in the final. We will see what happens

:37:08. > :37:09.

:37:09. > :37:13.after this. I am sure Michael will have a great final. It is nice to

:37:13. > :37:19.be in the room together, Brits against the world in a way? Yes, I

:37:19. > :37:21.think usually everyone has their head phones on so you do your own

:37:21. > :37:25.thing, but that was all right. Hopefully it will be enough to get

:37:25. > :37:30.in the final and need to find something else for tomorrow. I hate

:37:30. > :37:39.asking about the arm, but we need to know whether it was playing up?

:37:39. > :37:43.You looked pretty good. Thanks. have lost a bit of bulk. Well, we

:37:43. > :37:46.will talk about it tomorrow and I will tell you if it's been a

:37:46. > :37:56.positive thing or not. The world record holer goes in the second

:37:56. > :37:57.

:37:57. > :38:47.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:38:47. > :38:50.the pace. He turned in 61.7 when he broke his world record. He's talked

:38:50. > :39:00.about having a tough time of it after breaking the world record at

:39:00. > :39:00.

:39:00. > :40:16.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:40:16. > :40:26.had a good heat this morning. Still off the world record. Gyurta

:40:26. > :40:37.

:40:37. > :40:43.winning the second semi-final, be in lanes three and two.

:40:43. > :40:48.Very exciting. Well done to Andrew Willis and

:40:48. > :40:52.Michael Jamieson, they qualify for the final of the 200m breaststroke

:40:52. > :40:57.tomorrow. Not sure from the interview with Sharon just how good

:40:57. > :41:03.Michael Jamieson is feeling about himself at the moment. It's taken

:41:03. > :41:06.mentally a lot out of him this injury. The trials, he did a decent

:41:06. > :41:10.swim, I think tomorrow night times will be faster. He looked

:41:10. > :41:15.comfortable. He is out in lane one and he was not in the middle of the

:41:15. > :41:21.pool, but interesting to see if it is hurting him or not, he wouldn't

:41:21. > :41:24.give anything away. They are friends, they train together, they

:41:24. > :41:29.are going to be in lanes two and three in the final. Is that a

:41:29. > :41:34.positive, having them next to each other. I think so. Because they are

:41:34. > :41:36.used to racing each other back home, it's a safety. I used to like

:41:36. > :41:40.racing next to the British girls because you knew how they would

:41:40. > :41:45.race, they knew what each other was doing. There is definitely that

:41:45. > :41:53.safety net there and they will push each other on, it will be great to

:41:53. > :41:59.see. We have two very competitive women going next in the 50 metre

:41:59. > :42:03.backstroke. Lauren and Georgia Davis. You had Jo Jackson there a

:42:03. > :42:13.lot of the time. Is it helpful to have two in the final, with

:42:13. > :42:15.

:42:15. > :42:18.Lauren's first major championships. Definitely, it helps so much.

:42:18. > :42:20.Especially with me and Jo in the past, we were always such good

:42:20. > :42:23.mates over everything and we would always support each other, first

:42:23. > :42:26.people to go to each other and hug each other, and it is nice to have

:42:26. > :42:29.someone in the call room as well. It can be an intimidating. Lauren

:42:29. > :42:32.will be grateful Georgia is with her and show her the the ropes.

:42:32. > :42:34.Have you sent her a message today? I have, yes. Best of luck to the

:42:34. > :42:44.women. Really looking forward to this one.

:42:44. > :42:54.

:42:54. > :42:57.Two British women in the final. It Quigley right at the top there. And

:42:57. > :43:03.at the bottom Georgia Davis of Great Britain. A very good start it

:43:03. > :43:13.is in lane two from the br stillian. -- Brazilian.

:43:13. > :43:29.

:43:29. > :43:34.It's very tight down this first 25 It is a Chinese one, two.

:43:34. > :43:38.Georgia Davis getting sixth and Lauren Quigley eighth. What a final

:43:38. > :43:42.five metres that was. I was so sure the gold was going in the centre,

:43:42. > :43:45.didn't get a good finish though. She didn't. It was interesting, I

:43:45. > :43:55.couldn't tell who was going to get that in the end. Very, very good

:43:55. > :44:09.

:44:09. > :44:15.you manage to turn around what was a disappointing 100 to a pretty

:44:15. > :44:19.good 50? With the 50, it is a lot of fun, and there's no tactics or

:44:19. > :44:22.planning really, you just get in and go as fast as you can from the

:44:22. > :44:26.start. Because I was so disappointed I wanted to prove I am

:44:26. > :44:30.on better form than what I showed in the 100. You did that, well done.

:44:30. > :44:35.It is always a bit of a splash and dash, the 50 metres. How was the

:44:35. > :44:41.call room and all that experience, I know this has been a big chance

:44:41. > :44:45.for you to learn the ropes really. Yes, the call room was the same as

:44:45. > :44:51.any other call room, everyone in there and everyone wants to do well.

:44:51. > :44:54.You got to get in your own head and try and sort it out. I didn't go

:44:54. > :45:01.quicker tonight but I can learn from that, I have the 200 tomorrow,

:45:01. > :45:05.I will look to that. They will learn a lot from this

:45:05. > :45:09.experience, especially Lauren, but let's say hats off to Georgia,

:45:09. > :45:14.swimming her fastest time, equalling the Welsh record and

:45:14. > :45:17.moving up a position as well. That is all you can ask for. She was

:45:17. > :45:21.saying it was dispointing in the 100, but the more times you come

:45:21. > :45:24.out and perform at this level, it is a bit addictive, you want to

:45:24. > :45:29.race again and again. Of course, everyone wants to come here and do

:45:29. > :45:33.best times. The girls did a great job this evening. They can go

:45:33. > :45:38.better. Lauren has a bright, bright future. I would like to see her in

:45:38. > :45:43.the gym more and get more powerful. They both can step up a level and

:45:43. > :45:47.hopefully be standing on the podium for us. In the interviews we have

:45:47. > :45:51.seen from Lauren, she seems to have become more relax indeed this

:45:51. > :45:55.environment, like I belong here, the call room is the same as any

:45:55. > :46:00.other, that is important to realise, it is a pool, I have to swim fast,

:46:00. > :46:05.forget the arena. Definitely, it is one of the most important things,

:46:05. > :46:11.but what is encouraging that Lauren has had a good week. It will be

:46:11. > :46:17.interesting to see how she can transfer transfers the 50 into a

:46:17. > :46:20.200. Georgia doesn't tend to do the 2 hub metres -- 200m. It will be

:46:20. > :46:25.interesting to see what is suiting Lauren at the moment. She's had a

:46:25. > :46:30.great week so far, so I am looking forward to seeing what she can do

:46:30. > :46:40.tomorrow. We are moving on to the men's 200m backstroke semi-finals.

:46:40. > :46:45.

:46:45. > :46:49.Craig McNally qualified second at the bottom. He must have slipped.

:46:49. > :46:55.These starting pads are slippy. He's not even in the shot down the

:46:55. > :46:59.first 50 down the right-hand side. Great Britain's Craig McNally has a

:46:59. > :47:09.decent start, the white hat in the centre. In the heats he swam

:47:09. > :47:44.

:47:44. > :47:48.going because he is at the wrong faster than his heats from this

:47:49. > :47:58.morning. He does come back back fast on the second 100m. He is in

:47:59. > :48:19.

:48:19. > :48:24.the centre with the white hat, he to try and get into third place

:48:24. > :48:34.though. The rest of the field hanging on in

:48:34. > :49:04.

:49:04. > :49:08.make the final from Craig McNally. drop in your time in 20 sprbgs 20 -

:49:08. > :49:13.2013, what do you put it down to. have been working on getting my

:49:13. > :49:17.short rate up and getting straight into my rate for the race at the

:49:17. > :49:21.beginning of the race and also working on my underwater. You must

:49:21. > :49:27.do a lot of work because your last 50 is very strong and we were

:49:27. > :49:37.holding our breath on that one. I come back fast on the last 50 so

:49:37. > :49:40.I nose I've got it, so I quite often give people a scare with it.

:49:40. > :49:45.Sadly Chris Walker not waking it through to the final of the 200

:49:45. > :49:52.metre backstroke, but Craig McNally does, he qualifies seventh fastest.

:49:52. > :49:56.He will line up next to Hagino in that final tomorrow. Good work from

:49:56. > :50:05.McNally. Very, very good. Another swim, he is going to be there

:50:05. > :50:09.tomorrow night. A great experience. Another final final, and see what

:50:09. > :50:12.he can do and work on it for next year. What a year. He's had the

:50:13. > :50:18.kind of acceleration this year and has that again next year, he could

:50:18. > :50:22.be a world beater. Without a doubt. He sticks to his own race, he is

:50:22. > :50:29.not overwhelmed by this. He just sticks to his own race plan. He is

:50:29. > :50:33.better at the last 50, that is what he is comfortable with. He races

:50:33. > :50:38.his own race and that is what is good about him. He is going to be

:50:38. > :50:45.fantastic at home Commonwealth Games next year. Now, it is the

:50:45. > :50:55.women's 4 X 200m freestyle relace, it is pretty much USA against

:50:55. > :50:55.

:50:55. > :52:08.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:52:08. > :52:18.can think about the tactics and know who is behind and with her.

:52:18. > :52:24.

:52:25. > :52:34.Americans. S they have Missy Franklin. Gold

:52:35. > :52:37.

:52:37. > :52:43.Medal winner on the individual 200m shocking last 50m year, surely the

:52:43. > :52:48.gold is going to the USA. Australia leading at the moment though.

:52:49. > :52:58.China starting to come back with the the Bronze Medal position in

:52:59. > :53:08.

:53:08. > :53:18.last 200m in this final of the relay, it is Australia first, 1.12

:53:18. > :53:18.

:53:18. > :54:30.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 74 seconds

:54:30. > :54:36.ahead. She was a second behind, three lengths ago. Now she must be

:54:36. > :54:46.three seconds ahead. My goodness me. USA one, Australia two, and it

:54:46. > :55:02.

:55:02. > :55:08.looks like frns three, but China silver to Australia. Bronze to

:55:08. > :55:13.France, that is a cracking bronze for the French. China in fourth.

:55:13. > :55:20.Fifth is Spain. Team USA, their first two swimmers

:55:20. > :55:30.did so well against some real high quality opposition. Katie Ledecky

:55:30. > :55:32.

:55:32. > :55:35.on the 1500m freestyle, leading off in a 1.56.3 and Vreeland, really

:55:35. > :55:39.good first two legs and those were the important ones.

:55:39. > :55:49.Then after that, the rest of them just brought it home so well. Missy

:55:49. > :56:03.

:56:03. > :56:07.Franklin, 1.54.2, her last leg. evening. An incredible relay win

:56:07. > :56:12.for America. You were so excited to see Ledecky's name in the team.

:56:12. > :56:16.What did you make ofier swim? glad they put her on the lead out

:56:16. > :56:19.to see what time she could do. It was a brilliant swim from her.

:56:19. > :56:24.She's got the 800 free tomorrow morning. We will see how she

:56:24. > :56:27.recovers. The heats tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how she

:56:27. > :56:31.recovers after tonight. That was her third Gold Medal of the meet.

:56:31. > :56:35.Going for the fourth in the final on Saturday. But Missy Franklin has

:56:35. > :56:42.picked up her fourth with that tonight. That was some swim. When

:56:42. > :56:46.it came to The Last Leg, Australia had the second lead and she

:56:46. > :56:51.destroyed them. Ledecky has got everything, she's got a lot of what

:56:51. > :56:54.we call twitch in the business, a lot of speed up to the 1500, which

:56:54. > :57:00.is 16 minutes of work. Franklin could go for five tomorrow but has

:57:00. > :57:03.the matter of Cate Campbell against her in the 100m. We have great

:57:03. > :57:08.excitement for Great Britain tomorrow. Are we hoping we might

:57:08. > :57:11.get the first medal tomorrow, from the men in the 200 metre

:57:11. > :57:15.breaststroke, or Craig McNally could push on in the backstroke.

:57:15. > :57:19.think it will come from the breaststroke boys. Craig swam

:57:19. > :57:24.fantastic, but this is his first championships, so he will be

:57:24. > :57:32.wanting to get experience. It could be anyones, but the breaststroke

:57:32. > :57:41.boys are rad for for ready for it. Will sis on form. They are going to

:57:41. > :57:45.be next to each other, hopefully they will both get a medal. These

:57:45. > :57:48.guys, every training session they do, they are side by side every

:57:48. > :57:52.session and I think the beautiful thing about that is you are

:57:52. > :58:00.training two of the best people in the world, pushing each other every

:58:00. > :58:04.session. Be I would guess might be Andrew Willis's day tomorrow. One

:58:04. > :58:10.of them or two of them on the podium would be fantastic. Can it

:58:10. > :58:14.get more exciting in the women's 200 metre breaststroke. We had an

:58:14. > :58:21.incredible second semi-final. It is turning into one of my favourite

:58:21. > :58:28.races. Pedersen going in in that. We might see a British swimmer

:58:28. > :58:31.inside this fabulous arena on the rostrum tomorrow. Hope they get a

:58:31. > :58:35.good night sleep tonight and more fantastic swims tomorrow. Thank you
