:00:37. > :00:48.That was one of the all-time great nights for British swimming

:00:49. > :00:54.swimming. Go quite decent start from Adam Peaty. His dominance set the

:00:55. > :01:01.town, no one was taking his title away. Adam Peaty has destroyed the

:01:02. > :01:12.best in the world, absolutely obliterated them. Adam Peaty has an

:01:13. > :01:20.aura now, a Bolt in the blue. It is a moment I will never forget. Ben

:01:21. > :01:25.Proud is world champion! Ben Proud stunned the world with that swim,

:01:26. > :01:32.and I think even surprised himself. I am on the verge of tears. Two gold

:01:33. > :01:37.medals in one night, two incredible performances, and to think there is

:01:38. > :01:41.more to come. Talk about a night to live up to, tonight has all the

:01:42. > :01:47.ingredients. James Guy and Duncan Scott could win medals here, no

:01:48. > :01:52.doubt. In this arena, with this crowd, anything is possible.

:01:53. > :01:54.And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, earlier

:01:55. > :02:06.today, it happened. COMMENTATOR: Peaty normally picks it

:02:07. > :02:10.up about 20 metres in, not the greatest start-up. Adam Peaty right

:02:11. > :02:17.in the centre, and goodness me, not the greatest start again! Lots of

:02:18. > :02:23.work to be done, but this is where he is strong, 25 metres to go, and

:02:24. > :02:29.starting to power away. Look at that, he picks up another gear, the

:02:30. > :02:33.world record is 26.4, it looks like he is well under! He has almost got

:02:34. > :02:41.a full body length, 26.1, a new world record, quite an extraordinary

:02:42. > :02:46.swim! I have no idea how he has done that, 26.1 with a terrible start,

:02:47. > :02:51.but he is nodding in approval, he likes it.

:02:52. > :02:58.So Britain has two world titles, one world record, and in the 200 metres

:02:59. > :03:08.freestyle final, the two fastest are Brits.

:03:09. > :03:16.Duncan Scott and James Guy qualified the top two fastest for this final,

:03:17. > :03:21.breaking the British record. James Guy the defending British champion,

:03:22. > :03:30.this is Duncan Scott's first major final. Olympic champion Sun Yang.

:03:31. > :03:34.The Chinese support team here, looking strong at this World

:03:35. > :03:39.Championships. But this is the defending champion, world 200 metres

:03:40. > :03:44.freestyle, for the first time, I have to say, Steve, he looked pretty

:03:45. > :03:49.confident in the semifinals. That is right, James Guy yesterday really,

:03:50. > :03:54.really good, but beaten by this fella, Duncan Scott. We expected

:03:55. > :03:58.things from him in the 100 metres freestyle, he comes into this the

:03:59. > :04:04.fastest freestyler in the world, but these two, it gives you two bytes of

:04:05. > :04:07.the cherry. Absolutely unbelievable performances from them both

:04:08. > :04:11.yesterday, just daring to dream a little bit that they might actually

:04:12. > :04:16.take on the Olympic champion here, Sun Yang. He is going in three.

:04:17. > :04:21.Duncan Scott and James Guy next to each other, could that help or

:04:22. > :04:25.hinder? Both the Brits still have all the kit on, everybody else has

:04:26. > :04:29.all like it off. Both the Brits making everybody waits, interesting

:04:30. > :04:34.tactic, the other guys are looking around, what is going on? I like

:04:35. > :04:39.that, a bit of needle, let's wind them up a little bit, we are in

:04:40. > :04:45.charge of Lance! James Guy there, but Duncan Scott hasn't even got his

:04:46. > :04:57.T-shirt off yet. Years certainly make them all wait. The Brits have

:04:58. > :05:07.made the rest of them wait a long, long time. This will be interesting.

:05:08. > :05:11.Scott has got to get out quick, and James Guy, he needs to do a bit of

:05:12. > :05:18.both if he is going to retain this title. Four lengths' freestyle, the

:05:19. > :05:33.World Championship final, men's 200 free. The Brits are in the centre,

:05:34. > :05:39.Scott and Guy. A good start from James Guy, the defending world

:05:40. > :05:46.champion is off like a shot in five, going very well right at the top,

:05:47. > :05:51.Kozma of Hungary, he has gone off very quick. It is a TV swim for him,

:05:52. > :05:57.he wants to build with the crowd, they have been brilliant all week,

:05:58. > :06:01.but look as James Guy in five, and next to him Townley Haas, the

:06:02. > :06:05.American, the second fastest swimmer this year. I don't want to see James

:06:06. > :06:10.Guy go out too fast, I want to make sure he has got plenty in the tank

:06:11. > :06:15.for later in the mid two. I would like to see Duncan Scott using his

:06:16. > :06:21.speed against Sun Yang. This is such a tight event, only one second is

:06:22. > :06:26.celebrating the entire field. And look at that, James Guy is saying to

:06:27. > :06:32.himself, look, you are not going to get my title off me easily. James

:06:33. > :06:38.Guy is first to turn, and now comes the Olympic champion, the pink suit

:06:39. > :06:45.of Sun Yang in lane three, and that is pretty ominous. When he goes, he

:06:46. > :06:50.really goes. 50 metres to go at the turn, it looks like Sun Yang might

:06:51. > :06:58.be third. James Guy is fourth, Duncan Scott is sixth. Can James Guy

:06:59. > :07:02.hold onto him? Townley Haas in six is starting to move as well. You can

:07:03. > :07:09.throw a blanket over these guys, 15 metres to go! The medals are not

:07:10. > :07:16.going to the British swimmers, but look at Sun Yang, the Olympic

:07:17. > :07:20.champion will be world champion, 1:44.3, brilliant to get gold, the

:07:21. > :07:24.silver has gone to Townley Haas of the USA, but goodness me, the Brits

:07:25. > :07:37.just outside the medals in fourth and fifth. Krasnykh of Russia gets

:07:38. > :07:42.the bronze. James Guy, oh, he was back in fifth place. What a tight

:07:43. > :07:48.race, but Sun Yang when so early, and when he goes, my goodness me, he

:07:49. > :07:52.goes. He really turned it on with 70 metres to go, and look what it means

:07:53. > :07:56.doing, having A-level barny with the pool at the end of the race. I

:07:57. > :08:00.wonder if he is going to do his Pat Cash and get back in the crowd

:08:01. > :08:06.again. Duncan Scott might be disappointed, he was disappointed

:08:07. > :08:10.last night. It is hard to repeat the time from last night in the final,

:08:11. > :08:17.but that would have got a bronze medal. Both of the Brits, their

:08:18. > :08:21.qualifying times, both would have won bronze, but is told in these

:08:22. > :08:25.finals, a lot of cap and mouse, people going in different places,

:08:26. > :08:34.and the Sun Yang a slowdown that first 50. One positive thing for the

:08:35. > :08:39.Brits, they are going to have a cracking freestyle relay, look at

:08:40. > :08:52.that, the Olympic champion backs it up with World Championship gold.

:08:53. > :08:56.Look at the reactions, he has given absolutely everything. Sun Yang,

:08:57. > :09:02.world champion, men's 200 metres freestyle. And he did this in the

:09:03. > :09:07.400, he is not meant to go down the pool, but he brushes past the

:09:08. > :09:17.referee goes and high-fives Hartlepool. -- half the pool. The

:09:18. > :09:21.Australian coach sitting with some of the Chinese guys there. He used

:09:22. > :09:27.to coach Australia, but he has been working with Sun Yang for a long

:09:28. > :09:32.time now. He loves this, Anyang. I saw him in Shanghai, he went all the

:09:33. > :09:41.way around the pool and shook everybody's hand. He is back after

:09:42. > :09:52.his ban, interesting character. So the results of the men's 200

:09:53. > :09:55.metres freestyle, very close indeed, Sun Yang winning it relatively

:09:56. > :10:05.comfortable. But very close from second to fifth. And I believe

:10:06. > :10:16.Sharron Davies can talk to James and Duncan.

:10:17. > :10:24.Duncan, a little bit disappointed, I am sure. Yeah, definitely, I tried

:10:25. > :10:30.my best, in the semifinal, which is not always ideal, but I stepped

:10:31. > :10:34.forward, it is an experience I will remember and move on. You probably

:10:35. > :10:37.surprised us by the way you swam that, we expected you to go out as a

:10:38. > :10:42.sprinter but you add strength at the end of the race. It is something I

:10:43. > :10:49.have been working on, trying to swim its different ways. I need to work

:10:50. > :10:57.out the best ways to swim it but yeah. It is a very loud crowd, the

:10:58. > :11:02.atmosphere is amazing. The crowd is amazing, yeah, great noise tonight.

:11:03. > :11:07.How are you feeling right now? I know you were hoping that this would

:11:08. > :11:19.work for you here. I mean, absolutely devastated, I thought I

:11:20. > :11:25.could 1:44.8, but I got carried away last night, took too much out of me

:11:26. > :11:29.last night. On a positive note, two Brits in a fantastic position for

:11:30. > :11:36.the relay. Yeah, the relay is good, good chance of a medal there. Real

:11:37. > :11:41.chance of a gold medal. There really is, we are both on 1:45.0, so it is

:11:42. > :11:53.good for the relay. So Duncan Scott and James Guy just

:11:54. > :11:57.missing out on medals there, you can understand the frustration for them.

:11:58. > :12:03.We heard James say he was disappointed, went out too fast, how

:12:04. > :12:07.hard is it to swim your own race? I think that is what the boys didn't

:12:08. > :12:11.do, you saw Duncan in the Semites, he had easy speed and looked

:12:12. > :12:17.relaxed, but tonight he swam it completely differently. Same with

:12:18. > :12:22.James, I don't know if they just thought that was the way that the

:12:23. > :12:27.rest of the field were going, but you have to stick to your own race,

:12:28. > :12:32.that is what we saw Ben do last night, and if they had done that, we

:12:33. > :12:37.could have taken a bronze medal. Exactly, it is as if James tried to

:12:38. > :12:40.break the rest of the field to get away from them, but it is

:12:41. > :12:45.confidence, and adrenaline gets the better of you. When you are on form,

:12:46. > :12:48.and he was last night, he probably thought he could do the best time

:12:49. > :12:55.and take the title, but you have to stick to your race plan. Sun Yang

:12:56. > :13:01.was a little away from him, he couldn't see what he was doing, I

:13:02. > :13:07.thought Duncan did a good job in his first major final, not his main

:13:08. > :13:12.event. Two consecutive fourths, Rio and here, he must really feel like

:13:13. > :13:18.he needs to get on the podium. Let's have a look at the final 25 metres,

:13:19. > :13:24.Sun Yang is so dominant. You knew it was really over by the third,

:13:25. > :13:29.because when he goes, there is no stopping him. I think James didn't

:13:30. > :13:34.have that extra gear that you step it up to. Duncan, like we saw in the

:13:35. > :13:40.semis, had easy speed and swam its differently. But it is great for the

:13:41. > :13:44.relay, and especially for Duncan's 100 metres freestyle, I think that

:13:45. > :13:50.will be very special. So it wasn't to be in the first event, but a

:13:51. > :13:53.successful day for British swimming. Earlier this morning, in the heat of

:13:54. > :13:58.the 50 metres breaststroke, we saw Adam Peaty, and it is there to say

:13:59. > :14:03.he was in phenomenal form, wasn't he? What did you make of that world

:14:04. > :14:14.record? You could see it last night, he went 26.5 for the first 100, only

:14:15. > :14:19.0.1 off his world record. I'd thought he would be a bit tired and

:14:20. > :14:22.would save it for tonight. The pressure was off this morning, he

:14:23. > :14:27.said himself that he didn't even really get up for it, he just wanted

:14:28. > :14:33.to make it through the rounds. But Adam will always swim past, he has

:14:34. > :14:36.that natural ability and speed and competitiveness, he had seen that

:14:37. > :14:40.Cameron van der Burgh had swam a great time in the previous heat, so

:14:41. > :14:44.he wanted to get the prime lane position for the semifinals.

:14:45. > :14:50.I think it's fair to say he was survived and was speaking to us

:14:51. > :14:56.after the heat and admitted he wasn't even trying his hardest.

:14:57. > :15:04.A fantastic nod of had to say, take that, Cameronette. Last night, I

:15:05. > :15:08.came in obviously, lots of energy involved and last night I couldn't

:15:09. > :15:13.get to sleep. Thankfully I'm working with the team now and I have nailed

:15:14. > :15:18.sleeping pattern. Switch my phone off, go to bed and my performance

:15:19. > :15:21.showed this morning. I am not here to get the world record but I'm here

:15:22. > :15:26.to get it in the finals so hopefully I can build a game for tomorrow. At

:15:27. > :15:31.fantastic world-record and sometimes being relaxed as an important.

:15:32. > :15:37.Breaststroke, wanting to go faster, do go slower, the last ten years of

:15:38. > :15:44.experience there, it's great to give the crowd and early wake-up call.

:15:45. > :15:48.Camera and did not appear in his 100 metres. Putting its eggs in one

:15:49. > :15:53.basket with a 50. Yes, those are his tactics. And extremely proud to

:15:54. > :15:57.stand up there and get the world-record in the name of my

:15:58. > :16:06.country and hopefully inspire millions back home. 25 coming? Never

:16:07. > :16:12.say never. That was this morning. Still to come this evening... But

:16:13. > :16:20.the world-record underworld title already in the bag, so far this

:16:21. > :16:32.week, what will Adam Peaty do next? Dawson goes into final in the 100

:16:33. > :16:38.metre backstroke. And let's go crazy for Sarah Vasey in the Women's 100m

:16:39. > :16:43.Breast Stroke final. One of the most dominant summers of our generation

:16:44. > :16:47.out there in the pool now in the 1500, talk through what we can

:16:48. > :16:54.expect to see from Katie Ledecky this week. Pure dominance. I think

:16:55. > :16:58.her biggest task this week is probably the 200 metres freestyle.

:16:59. > :17:02.That is where she has the stiffest competition but the distance events,

:17:03. > :17:08.the 800, 1500 metres, it will be hurt against the clock. How many

:17:09. > :17:17.gold medals can she get? Let's see how Katie Ledecky gets on in this

:17:18. > :17:24.one. Let's dine Andy and Steve. -- let's join.

:17:25. > :17:29.COMMENTATOR: The final of the Women's 1500m Freestyle is all about

:17:30. > :17:36.Katie Ledecky. A best time, 22 seconds faster than anyone else. 26

:17:37. > :17:44.seconds faster than anyone else this year. Quite extraordinary. Versus

:17:45. > :17:51.the 400 metre term, she has done eight lengths, 1100 left, 22 lengths

:17:52. > :17:57.left. The final of the Women's 1500m Freestyle, so Katie Ledecky leading,

:17:58. > :18:04.sagging at the moment there's Simona Quadarella from Italy. Third, Mireia

:18:05. > :18:08.Belmonte from Spain. Three, four, five, six, seven, very close. From

:18:09. > :18:12.the start, Katie Ledecky looks strong. Six metres ahead after the

:18:13. > :18:18.first term, quite extraordinary. Steve, you have seen her go. Do you

:18:19. > :18:22.think she is going to lap them? It's interesting because Katie Ledecky

:18:23. > :18:28.has the 200 metres freestyle, only one hour away later in the

:18:29. > :18:35.programme. We are watching two different races here. The other five

:18:36. > :18:38.guys are racing for the bronze and silver medal so I'm more interested

:18:39. > :18:42.at this date in the medal race because there are five girls in

:18:43. > :18:46.their having a right old ding-dong for the medals. You can just see

:18:47. > :18:51.them now. They are just coming into view at the moment but here is Katie

:18:52. > :18:56.Ledecky, just outside her world-record pace, 2.5 seconds, but

:18:57. > :19:03.I wonder what Rebecca Adlington thinks of this? It's ridiculous,

:19:04. > :19:06.isn't it? It is insane. You can't even see the other guys on the

:19:07. > :19:10.screen most of the time because they are that far behind. I don't think

:19:11. > :19:15.she will want to go for the world-record. If it happens, it

:19:16. > :19:23.happens, of course, but for her, the 200 metres is the toughest challenge

:19:24. > :19:26.for her. She came into this noting the gold medal would be around her

:19:27. > :19:31.neck and has not broken the world-record in this event since

:19:32. > :19:37.2015, so, for her, that's quite a long time to not break the

:19:38. > :19:41.world-record. In 2015, she actually said, I have done that by accident,

:19:42. > :19:45.broken the world-record, did not mean to do it. She did it in the

:19:46. > :19:52.heats, such was her dominance. She has broken this record five times

:19:53. > :19:57.already and we know she can break at a game of. She looks different this

:19:58. > :20:01.week, I think. It looks like she has more power. I think she knows,

:20:02. > :20:06.coming into this, the distance events are hers and the challenge

:20:07. > :20:11.for her shorter distances. She has moved programmes and here it is

:20:12. > :20:15.different tactics to easy speed I think which it has want to do so I

:20:16. > :20:23.think her stroke look at the different. In the heats, I was

:20:24. > :20:27.watching all of the heats, and it was interesting because she got to

:20:28. > :20:33.the 500 metre turn and then for the next five 100, she picked up by a

:20:34. > :20:42.whole second 100, which I think she is in quicker. Two seconds above

:20:43. > :20:45.world-record pace. Let's just see what she is here. You will see on

:20:46. > :20:54.the bottom left of the screen, just to see how far she is, 2.1. She has

:20:55. > :20:59.let it go for two seconds. May be starting to pick the pace up a

:21:00. > :21:03.little bit? She's got to play a game, and entertain herself because

:21:04. > :21:08.she's got nobody else to raise. It must be hard to swim on your own and

:21:09. > :21:13.never have somebody pushing you, so she is wobbly saying: I either tried

:21:14. > :21:25.to lap them entertain myself or she will try to see what she has got in

:21:26. > :21:28.the bag. -- probably saving. I mean, she has got to want to break the

:21:29. > :21:32.world-record every single time she gets in the pool and this is the

:21:33. > :21:39.longest I could she has not broken for a while so why not? Often 1500

:21:40. > :21:43.metres swimmers do it in blocks of 500 so she could build into this,

:21:44. > :21:51.but I'm interested in the silver and bronze medal place. Boglarka Kapas,

:21:52. > :21:56.the hon Mary, got the bronze medal at the last championships and is

:21:57. > :22:03.starting to wind it up now and every time she touches the wall, the crowd

:22:04. > :22:06.gets very excited. There are still four people in it for the minor

:22:07. > :22:15.medals so it is a cat and mouse things. Minor medals? I can say

:22:16. > :22:18.that. I think it's interesting. We've already seen Mireia Belmonte

:22:19. > :22:24.this week, not on her greatest form coming into this. For her, she has

:22:25. > :22:31.had shoulder injuries, and she is a butterfly swimmer who adds distance

:22:32. > :22:36.events in but the crowd have been so fantastical ready this week. The

:22:37. > :22:39.crowd have put on an incredible show. They've got behind every

:22:40. > :22:44.single event and really encouraged their athletes as well, so I think

:22:45. > :22:48.hope the crowd can pull through Boglarka Kapas, especially in the

:22:49. > :22:53.last couple of metres when accounts. Very sick and the gun here, Andy,

:22:54. > :22:59.because Katie Ledecky just turning, three seconds off world-record pace,

:23:00. > :23:02.a significant race for her, currently tied with Missy Franklin

:23:03. > :23:11.on 11 gold medals, so if she wins gold here, she will be the top

:23:12. > :23:17.female. How great for her to be out there on her own with 12 gold medals

:23:18. > :23:28.and still only halfway through. It's a significant stroke rates increase

:23:29. > :23:32.their from Katie Ledecky. She seems to be winding it up here now. She's

:23:33. > :23:39.pulling close of the world-record line. Yes, nothing is ever in doubt

:23:40. > :23:43.when it comes to Katie Ledecky. Anything is possible but her because

:23:44. > :23:48.she is such a unique athlete, a bit of Michael Phelps character, very

:23:49. > :23:54.rare. Unless she breaks her records, no one else is touching them for

:23:55. > :24:00.many, many years. This is a 1000 metre turn, 20 lengths of down, 40

:24:01. > :24:05.lengths of most local pools. 20 here in this Olympic length April. Tend

:24:06. > :24:17.to go in the Women's 1500m Freestyle. The rest of the field,

:24:18. > :24:22.led by Boglarka Kapas. Mireia Belmonte going with her. They have

:24:23. > :24:34.dropped the other two and the 18-year-old from China, Yawen Hou,

:24:35. > :24:38.in third. Simona Quadarella, it looks like Mireia Belmonte are

:24:39. > :24:44.starting to catch. She starts quite slowly and then really picks it up.

:24:45. > :24:48.She's got a massive programme. Yes, Mireia Belmonte this week will be

:24:49. > :24:54.racing 7000 metres which is ridiculous. If you count her

:24:55. > :25:00.warm-ups, she will probably swim close to 50,000 metres. Mireia

:25:01. > :25:05.Belmonte swam against Rebecca Adlington in the Olympic Games.

:25:06. > :25:08.Becky, I was jumping up and down because she came back so strongly

:25:09. > :25:14.against you. You more than anyone know how good she is at the end of

:25:15. > :25:16.her races. Yes, she got so much endurance Mireia Belmonte and she

:25:17. > :25:24.got silver in London and I got the bronze. I know she's a good swimmer.

:25:25. > :25:30.Because she races so much, and the amount of metres, as you have just

:25:31. > :25:34.said, she has the pace to take it. If you go head-to-head with Mireia

:25:35. > :25:40.Belmonte, it's fair to say Mireia Belmonte will probably always get

:25:41. > :25:43.the touch. There is the pink suit of Mireia Belmonte against the Black

:25:44. > :25:46.suit of the Italian, Simona Quadarella but no doubt about the

:25:47. > :25:52.lead at the moment. This is a 1200 metres turn coming up now, 50 metres

:25:53. > :25:58.time. The 1200 metres turn, fixed length is left in this final of the

:25:59. > :26:05.Women's 1500m Freestyle. That is Katie Ledecky and she is such a long

:26:06. > :26:14.way ahead, going for the double quadruple. Triple triple is also on.

:26:15. > :26:17.It's ridiculous. She didn't swim the 200 freestyle in 2013. She could

:26:18. > :26:24.have had a chance of the triple quad. It's absolutely ridiculous. We

:26:25. > :26:30.have not ever seen a talent like this in middle distance swimming. To

:26:31. > :26:35.be able to do the two, four and eight and 15 is ridiculous. There is

:26:36. > :26:41.not a reward she has not won a. US athlete of the year, global swimmer

:26:42. > :26:44.of the year, she has cleaned up. I found out that her hobbies include

:26:45. > :26:56.volunteering, Scrabble, Cheshunt piano. -- chess and piano. She is a

:26:57. > :27:01.distance swimmer. We just stare at the black line all day so it doesn't

:27:02. > :27:05.take much to entertain as. Mireia Belmonte name five is looking

:27:06. > :27:13.really, really strong. She looks good for the silver. Kristel Kobrich

:27:14. > :27:17.has settled. Katie Ledecky has definitely got the ability to take

:27:18. > :27:21.on the world-record. I think she is swimming smarter here and has the

:27:22. > :27:25.experience. She doesn't have to break the world-record every time

:27:26. > :27:31.she gets into the water. Look what Mireia Belmonte has done to Simona

:27:32. > :27:35.Quadarella. She has taken two metres out of the world junior champion and

:27:36. > :27:39.that its great experience shown because she's waited long time to

:27:40. > :27:43.take that and now she is really, really going for it. Katie Ledecky

:27:44. > :27:50.going the other way. The 1500-metre mark. She is 30 metres ahead.

:27:51. > :27:56.Goodness gracious me. Katie Ledecky. She is a class unto herself. She has

:27:57. > :28:00.100 metres to go at this turn coming up. There is a fight for the silver

:28:01. > :28:04.and the bronze and it looks like Mireia Belmonte on the 200 fly, the

:28:05. > :28:09.Olympic champion, will take the silver but no doubt about the gold,

:28:10. > :28:13.she is 27 metres in the lead, Katie Ledecky of the USA. The world-record

:28:14. > :28:17.holder on the 1500 metres freestyle, the world-record holder on the 800

:28:18. > :28:26.metres freestyle, and the 400 metres freestyle and world champion. It is

:28:27. > :28:29.no easy feat, this, Andy. She is swimming against the best eight

:28:30. > :28:34.swimmers in the world over this distance and she is actually going

:28:35. > :28:37.to finish a full 1.5 lengths ahead of the person coming second. I often

:28:38. > :28:41.think Katie Ledecky is in the wrong race and should be swimming against

:28:42. > :28:46.the men and that's what she does in training which is why she is so good

:28:47. > :28:51.and she is pushing this event forward and the whole of female

:28:52. > :28:56.swimming. Look at her there. She really does look quite easy. She is

:28:57. > :29:01.just starting to pick up a little bit of a grandstand finish in this

:29:02. > :29:07.last 50 metres. But this gold medal in this Women's 1500m Freestyle

:29:08. > :29:10.makes Katie Ledecky the most successful female in the World

:29:11. > :29:14.Championship swimming history. That is her 12th World Championship gold

:29:15. > :29:19.medal and the time does not matter too much. Six seconds outside her

:29:20. > :29:28.own world-record, but with more swims this evening, she has paced it

:29:29. > :29:31.extremely well. Silver to Mireia Belmonte from Spain and a fabulous

:29:32. > :29:40.bronze to Simona Quadarella from Italy. No wonder Mireia Belmonte

:29:41. > :29:46.look surprised. A time of eight seconds, she knows how to do it when

:29:47. > :29:49.it counts and a made up for the Italian Junior world champion,

:29:50. > :29:52.Simona Quadarella, really performing on their senior stage. The story is

:29:53. > :29:59.really about one lady and that is Katie Ledecky, a pedestrian swim for

:30:00. > :30:03.pay about we will see her back in action in one hour at the other end

:30:04. > :30:09.of the spectrum, the 200 metres freestyle. She is saying, it's too

:30:10. > :30:12.easy. Give me some more. Oh my goodness me. She has won that race

:30:13. > :30:24.by 19 seconds in the end. Katie Ledecky of the USA, 12 World

:30:25. > :30:34.Championship gold medals, it is her third one here, she did not break

:30:35. > :30:37.the world record on the 400 freestyle, but that is the second

:30:38. > :30:44.fastest time in the history. Didn't break the record in the 1500 metres

:30:45. > :30:47.freestyle but did win gold. She has just swam 60 lengths of the local

:30:48. > :30:53.bats and is not even out of breath, I would like to see you do that! You

:30:54. > :31:00.might need one of those sundial clocks for me, I think! Phenomenal,

:31:01. > :31:05.absolutely phenomenal. She is so cool behind the blocks, right in the

:31:06. > :31:09.centre, I hope they show pictures, not quite, she was about half a

:31:10. > :31:24.metre air just after the start, five metres pared after 100. Amazing. --

:31:25. > :31:29.ahead. It looks like she has put a lot of muscle on, she is technically

:31:30. > :31:33.superb, always has been, but that looks like she probably wants to

:31:34. > :31:38.perform in the sprint events, get on the American relays and make sure

:31:39. > :31:46.she wraps up the 200 freestyle, because she is not dominant on the

:31:47. > :31:53.200 free, so that is where she needs to focus. That is not going to be an

:31:54. > :31:58.easy goal at all. Saluting the crowd very good indeed. Belmonte has just

:31:59. > :32:06.seen the time, Maria Belmonte, huge lifetime best. She is hardly

:32:07. > :32:13.breathing, goodness gracious me! Phenomenal. So confirmation of the

:32:14. > :32:17.result of the women's 1500 metres freestyle, Katie Ledecky wins gold

:32:18. > :32:22.and with and becomes the most successful female in World

:32:23. > :32:28.Championship swimming history, her 12th individual gold medal. Katie

:32:29. > :32:34.Ledecky is so far ahead of the rest of the field, what is going through

:32:35. > :32:40.your mind in those last few lengths? Issue chasing down the world record?

:32:41. > :32:45.That was just a warm up for the 200! She didn't even seem out of breath,

:32:46. > :32:50.19 seconds add of the rest of the field, absolutely crazy. I think it

:32:51. > :32:56.is in the back of her mind, because she is more than capable of breaking

:32:57. > :33:01.the world record, but it will be a tough battle, just a semifinal, but

:33:02. > :33:07.she has to give it everything. It will be on the back of her mind, I

:33:08. > :33:12.am sure. How often do we see the freestyle is so good at all the

:33:13. > :33:20.different distances? Not so often, you normally get 800 and 1500, then

:33:21. > :33:23.the middle distance, so going back to what you said about the last

:33:24. > :33:30.three lengths, I was going, don't ask me, I only did one length! He

:33:31. > :33:35.cannot turn! You do not get someone whose brands two minutes up to 15

:33:36. > :33:39.minutes, and that is why she is such a special specimen. A lot of people

:33:40. > :33:44.might think it is just a question of making the swimmer train harder, no,

:33:45. > :33:49.she is special, that much different to everybody else. When she races

:33:50. > :33:54.and produces lactic, she flushes it out at the same time, and you cannot

:33:55. > :33:59.teach that, that is what you and I have got. You cannot change your

:34:00. > :34:04.busy between races, Anne Shirley sprinters and distance runners are

:34:05. > :34:10.normally builds differently. -- and surely. It is like putting Mo Farah

:34:11. > :34:16.with Usain Bolt to race, it is unheard of, and she is so good and

:34:17. > :34:24.so dominant. As Steve said, she does look like she has got a bit more

:34:25. > :34:30.power this time, so I think she can probably relax on the distance. She

:34:31. > :34:37.knows that is a good area, so she is working on the speed, we saw her in

:34:38. > :34:41.the 4x100 relay, and we're going to see her in the 200 semifinal

:34:42. > :34:48.tonight, and I think she is trying to work on the easy speed that you

:34:49. > :34:52.need as a sprinter. And she is not with her old coach anymore, and now

:34:53. > :34:54.she is at college, the training is different, different coach,

:34:55. > :34:58.different training, different emphasis, focus more on the shorter

:34:59. > :35:03.events, because you have got the long ones wrapped up. We are going

:35:04. > :35:08.to see Katie Ledecky again, and the mighty Adam Peaty is going in the 50

:35:09. > :35:11.metres breaststroke finals later, but let's just relive what happened

:35:12. > :35:12.last night when he took the world title in the 100 metres

:35:13. > :35:26.breaststroke. COMMENTATOR: Good, clean starred in

:35:27. > :35:31.this final of the men's 100 metres breaststroke, decent start from Adam

:35:32. > :35:41.Peaty, the defending world champion, he set a world record and he said he

:35:42. > :35:48.would go out pretty quick, he may break the 50 metres record. He is

:35:49. > :35:54.already a class above, and in 26.5, just off the individual world record

:35:55. > :35:57.but under 100 metres world record pace, but he has not lost Kevin

:35:58. > :36:03.Cordes at this stage, it could be about winning gold and the world

:36:04. > :36:07.record. The power coming for Adam Peaty, look at it go away from the

:36:08. > :36:11.rest of the world, this is the greatest field in the world at 100

:36:12. > :36:17.metres breaststroke, and there is clear water between Adam Peaty and

:36:18. > :36:20.the rest of the world. The world record is 57.13, just outside, but

:36:21. > :36:27.good as me, the margin of victory was phenomenal, it is a sprint, Adam

:36:28. > :36:33.Peaty has destroyed the best in the world, absolutely obliterated them.

:36:34. > :36:37.STUDIO: Huge congratulations to Adam Peaty, we will see in action in the

:36:38. > :36:41.semifinals this evening. The medal ceremony for the two were good

:36:42. > :36:50.metres freestyle is going on the eye and us, the goals taken by Sun Yang.

:36:51. > :36:57.-- is going on behind us comedy gold taken by Sun Yang. No place on the

:36:58. > :37:02.podium for Duncan Scott or James Guy. Let's carry on talking about

:37:03. > :37:07.Adam Peaty, in terms of his times and what he has done in the last

:37:08. > :37:09.couple of years, let's remember he is only 22, he really is ripping up

:37:10. > :37:19.the history books. Across 50 metres as well as the 100

:37:20. > :37:23.metres, he has got Project 56 in the back of his mind, but now it is

:37:24. > :37:30.Project 25, whether he can break that world record! He wasn't even

:37:31. > :37:34.trying this morning, so it is going to be fascinating to say Cameron van

:37:35. > :37:38.der Burgh coming, see how fast he is going, because he pulled out of the

:37:39. > :37:47.100 metres to focus on this. I am interested to see how much he wants

:37:48. > :37:51.to challenge Adam. It is a couple in to add, let's look at the best ever

:37:52. > :37:54.times and see who has got every single one!

:37:55. > :38:06.-- it is a compliment to Adam. He talks a lot about legacy and

:38:07. > :38:09.responsibility, what kind of confidence will and give him? The

:38:10. > :38:16.bottom line is that line is only going to get longer, 58.3 will

:38:17. > :38:20.probably turn into 57.3, because he is improving so much, and not just

:38:21. > :38:26.because of how confident he is and how hard he drains, but they are

:38:27. > :38:31.constantly looking for improvement, and what inspires you when you are

:38:32. > :38:37.world champion, Olympic champion, world record holder, he wants to go

:38:38. > :38:42.faster. As a kid, as a child, every time you step on the block, you want

:38:43. > :38:45.to do a best time. I don't mean that it is childlike, but you have to

:38:46. > :38:49.have something to interest you, and he wants to rewrite the record

:38:50. > :38:55.books. He has taken breaststroke to a place it has never been before.

:38:56. > :38:56.Mel B described him as a lion that you have to keep putting meet in

:38:57. > :39:06.front of. Goodness me, Peaty wins the gold, oh

:39:07. > :39:17.yes, oh yes indeed! I know you don't like talking about

:39:18. > :39:28.defending titles. Nothing to defend, it is all up for grabs. For me,

:39:29. > :39:31.going to Kazan, I was not defending anything, I was attacking. Defending

:39:32. > :39:37.just seems a little bit relaxed, whereas attacking, you are attacking

:39:38. > :39:40.your times, attacking your world records. It seems a little bit more

:39:41. > :39:45.aggressive, that is what is going to push me on in the pool every day.

:39:46. > :39:55.Do you feel like a leader in this team? Yeah, 100%, especially after

:39:56. > :40:00.the Olympics, I didn't know about that, the team has never been as

:40:01. > :40:05.strong and had so much cohesion, we are here and there for each other.

:40:06. > :40:11.Olympic champion, gold medal, Adam Peaty of Great Britain. I have

:40:12. > :40:15.achieved my lifetime dream, but I want more, a lot of people would be

:40:16. > :40:20.happy with Olympic gold, but I am not happy with that, I am happy that

:40:21. > :40:25.I have got it, but I want more, to leave a legacy, break the world

:40:26. > :40:31.record again, and I want to get to where no-one has been before. It is

:40:32. > :40:36.going to take a very fast time, I think.

:40:37. > :40:40.For me, his body language is really interesting after the heats this

:40:41. > :40:44.morning, he was a little bit surprised, he said, I had loads more

:40:45. > :40:48.in the tank, I didn't mean to do that, whereas normally he is very

:40:49. > :40:54.focused, you know when he will break the world record. You do, but when

:40:55. > :40:58.he spoke to Sharron after this morning, he said, you cannot rush

:40:59. > :41:03.breaststroke, and sprinting in general, like with Ben, over 50

:41:04. > :41:07.metres, you cannot rush it. His weakness is his start, the other

:41:08. > :41:13.guys are very strong there, but he takes off and is just so natural, so

:41:14. > :41:18.easy, so powerful, you can see the power from above. It is incredible

:41:19. > :41:23.to watch. His start and is finish this morning, when he broke that

:41:24. > :41:28.world record, went his best. So how fast can he go if he gets it right?

:41:29. > :41:33.Talking about whether he could do the perfect race, if you get every

:41:34. > :41:39.element right, there is 0.1 at the start and 0.1 at the finish, and

:41:40. > :41:43.everyone always, a swimmer will tell you that you always get faster in

:41:44. > :41:48.the evening, no matter what it is, you are more awake, and you do more

:41:49. > :41:52.of your fast training in the evenings. So your body is ready. So

:41:53. > :41:57.expect in not just to get every element right but the fact that he

:41:58. > :41:59.is more awake. Steeve Barry was beside himself, so let's see how

:42:00. > :42:17.hyper he gets for the semifinals. Great Britain's Adam Peaty is in the

:42:18. > :42:23.second semifinal, and only one other man has got a fastest time, Cameron

:42:24. > :42:28.van der Burgh. This young man, 28 years of age! You don't often see

:42:29. > :42:32.swimmers at 28 swimming personal bests, but he swam a lifetime best

:42:33. > :42:43.in the heats to make this semifinal. He won a world champion silver medal

:42:44. > :42:47.six years ago. Cordes, silver in the 100s, bronze two years ago in the

:42:48. > :42:56.50. All he needs to do is make the final. Ears on a different planet,

:42:57. > :43:06.Peaty, plan and breaststroke, and he lives there all by himself. -- he is

:43:07. > :43:13.on a different planet, Peaty, planet breaststroke. He was saying, I can

:43:14. > :43:17.see your 26.5, how do you like 26.1?! It was utterly ridiculous.

:43:18. > :43:24.But fair play to Cameron van der Burgh, he has won medals at this

:43:25. > :43:27.event five times, and he pulled out of the 100 to concentrate on this,

:43:28. > :43:34.and Adam Peaty is still smashing him, I cannot get my head around it.

:43:35. > :43:38.Probably the right decision, pulling out of the 100, I am not sure he is

:43:39. > :43:44.fit enough to go three rounds of both of them, but this 50, I would

:43:45. > :43:49.have thought that 26.5 would have been a cracking chance for gold. But

:43:50. > :44:08.when somebody goes 26.1, goodness me! Bundaberg in four for South

:44:09. > :44:16.Africa. -- Van der Burgh. Skills only on the left-hand side, the

:44:17. > :44:21.28-year-old Italian. -- Scottzoli. Also going well in three is Lima of

:44:22. > :44:28.Brazil. It looks like he will get it on the touch, yes, 26.6. Van der

:44:29. > :44:34.Burgh second, two tends slower than in the heats this morning. Third was

:44:35. > :44:43.called airs, and all was Scottzoli. So only four under 27, a little bit

:44:44. > :44:48.surprising? They were all up for it this morning, and that is a big

:44:49. > :44:52.shock for me, Van der Burgh, 26.5 this morning, I think he has had the

:44:53. > :44:58.stuffing knocked out of him. He has seen Adam Peaty swim and thought, I

:44:59. > :45:01.cannot get close to that kid. The veteran started well in the middle,

:45:02. > :45:06.but he didn't have his natural finish at the end. I just think Van

:45:07. > :45:11.der Burgh, the race is gone for him, and he will struggle to get in the

:45:12. > :45:16.medals. You know that he cannot beat Peaty, and that is what he wanted to

:45:17. > :45:19.do, win gold. That is what 50 breaststroke should look like,

:45:20. > :45:23.everyone finishing together, but in a minute we will say Adam Peaty a

:45:24. > :45:30.body length add, that is how much better he is. Cameron van der Burgh

:45:31. > :45:35.jammed the finish, so that led to this guy, Lima, winning.

:45:36. > :45:41.In normal circumstances, a very quick semifinal but after this

:45:42. > :45:51.morning, a little bit pedestrian. Felipe Lima wins it. Kevin Cordes,

:45:52. > :45:56.third. And the second semifinal and a new superstar, Adam Peaty, 26.1. A

:45:57. > :45:59.broke his own world record by over three tenths of a second this

:46:00. > :46:06.morning with an average start and a very average finish. Yet, you know

:46:07. > :46:12.what, it did appear to be average. He glided into his finish but I

:46:13. > :46:18.think we can give them a break on the start because, although it's a

:46:19. > :46:22.weakness, his strength outweighs it. Is swimming speed is absolutely

:46:23. > :46:28.phenomenal. What you will see is a lot of the guys touring the 50,

:46:29. > :46:32.starting to slow down, they can't keep up their velocity whereas he

:46:33. > :46:36.does not slow down for the whole 50 so where it looks like he is pulling

:46:37. > :46:44.away, is actually not, here's just keeping up the same speed from start

:46:45. > :46:48.to finish. There is the 17-year-old from Italy, the world junior record

:46:49. > :47:00.holder of the 100 metres breaststroke. This guy did really

:47:01. > :47:07.well on the 100 metres breast oak. From the outside, the Russians

:47:08. > :47:16.having a good week so far here. The big thing for me, in the freestyle

:47:17. > :47:22.gold. Gomes Junior, the 31-year-old. He's never won a major medal but

:47:23. > :47:26.Adam Peaty, what can you do? He's already won the gold on the

:47:27. > :47:35.breaststroke and set the world-record this, the 50. I think

:47:36. > :47:39.my head will blow off if he goes 25 because that is a butterfly time. I

:47:40. > :47:43.think you may have struggled to grow 25 a few times but maybe you can

:47:44. > :47:47.tell us about that a bit later but we want to see him and not rushing

:47:48. > :47:51.the first couple of strokes. He wants to make sure he is grabbing

:47:52. > :47:56.the water. He's thinking about that at the moment, an absolute beast,

:47:57. > :48:03.isn't he, but he's got the mindset to match it. We want 90% effort from

:48:04. > :48:19.Adam Peaty, 100% speed. Can he go 25? Here's prowling around at the

:48:20. > :48:31.start. A big lion cat to -- tap to. -- tap to. That's a very good start

:48:32. > :48:40.from Prigoda on the right-hand side there. He's looking very strong

:48:41. > :48:47.indeed. Looking well as Gomes from Brazil. Adam Peaty starting to

:48:48. > :48:58.streak ahead. Look at this. 26.10 is the world-record. 25.95! There goes

:48:59. > :49:06.Project 25. Oh my goodness me! I never thought I would see the day

:49:07. > :49:11.when a breast stroke swimmer would do that. That is phenomenal! He

:49:12. > :49:17.can't believe it and I can't believe it. In my life, I have never seen

:49:18. > :49:23.swimming like that. This is not only good for breaststroke but butterfly

:49:24. > :49:29.as well. 25 is a butterfly time. This kid is absolutely unbelievable.

:49:30. > :49:36.Does he know any boundaries whatsoever? I don't think he does.

:49:37. > :49:44.Still only 22. We are going to be critical. If there is an area he can

:49:45. > :49:52.improve it is the start. As you said, he gives so much. This is 50

:49:53. > :49:55.metres, and he won that by nine tenths. He's almost got clear water

:49:56. > :50:01.between him and the rest of the field on 50. He's almost taken a

:50:02. > :50:10.second out of everybody else, over a 50-metre --. I don't think you can

:50:11. > :50:14.believe it himself. It's not about gold medals for him any more, but

:50:15. > :50:20.about how much he can move on the sport. He was behind and it's

:50:21. > :50:24.impossible to be critical at this stage but their skill of the dive is

:50:25. > :50:30.something he could still improve on but we've never seen swimming speeds

:50:31. > :50:35.like this on breaststroke before. He got his whole margin of victory in

:50:36. > :50:42.the last 50 metres. Confirmation of the most extraordinary result,

:50:43. > :50:44.semifinal two. He wins the world-record, 25.95. He's talking to

:50:45. > :50:57.Sharron Davies. Yes, Andy, he's talking to me. How

:50:58. > :51:04.are you feeling because it's almost like you can't believe it? Honestly,

:51:05. > :51:08.this morning I knew it was going to be hard to beat that. Coming out

:51:09. > :51:14.tonight, I was a bit down because it's been such an emotional last few

:51:15. > :51:18.days. I'm not going to waste an opportunity because I don't know if

:51:19. > :51:24.it will be my last, I said. I just went out there and did what I do. I

:51:25. > :51:28.can't see this being your last. You are just improving and growing in

:51:29. > :51:33.confidence all the time. What are you doing to produce these fantastic

:51:34. > :51:41.races? I don't know, day in, day out, hard work. January, full-time,

:51:42. > :51:46.since then we have set up a culture I am proud of. In three or four

:51:47. > :51:49.years' time, we will have some strong young ones coming through.

:51:50. > :51:55.Hopefully improving British swimming but it's looking very good. Are you

:51:56. > :52:00.doing what in the gym because you are more cut than many swimmers and

:52:01. > :52:08.that is gymnasium based, isn't it? Yes, I can't believe it. A lot of

:52:09. > :52:11.hard work has gone into the gym now. I've lost my older gym coach

:52:12. > :52:21.unfortunately but he's doing great in new career now but hopefully I

:52:22. > :52:28.can improve. At fantastic swim, Adam, congratulations. See you

:52:29. > :52:34.tomorrow. Thank you very much. That sums up Adam Peaty, two world-record

:52:35. > :52:38.on Monday. He just said hopefully he can go further. He is unstoppable,

:52:39. > :52:43.and unbelievable machine. Let's look at that racer game. Put into context

:52:44. > :52:50.what he has just done. He shocked himself. Is the first time I've seen

:52:51. > :52:54.him genuinely shocked at what has just happened. What a great reaction

:52:55. > :53:00.but his start was better than this morning. He still has room to

:53:01. > :53:06.improve. He just built through it. Like Mark said early on, you do swim

:53:07. > :53:09.faster in the evening. He have that mentality. He saw the guys in the

:53:10. > :53:15.first heat and he was not going to lose that for a second, was he? We

:53:16. > :53:19.will talk about Adam Peaty in the next couple of days and rightly so

:53:20. > :53:27.because he's a machine. No doubt we will see him on top of that podium.

:53:28. > :53:30.A fist pump in the air. Let's go to the Women's 100m Backstroke

:53:31. > :53:46.featuring Britain's Kathleen Dawson. Kylie Jacqueline Masse, the fastest

:53:47. > :53:57.qualifier for this final, in Lane four. Deliberate silver medallist,

:53:58. > :54:02.Kathleen Baker from the USA and Olivia Smoliga from Australia, the

:54:03. > :54:13.yellow Hat. The world-record must be under threat, Gemma Spofforth's

:54:14. > :54:14.world-record. The final of the Women's 100m Backstroke. The

:54:15. > :54:23.favourite in the centre. Kylie Jacqueline Masse from Canada with

:54:24. > :54:26.the white hat. A black hat, Kathleen Baker from the USA. And Olivia

:54:27. > :54:33.Smoliga in the yellow Hat from Australia. She did come back strong

:54:34. > :54:38.on the 750 but Kathleen Baker, an Olympic medallist, won't let this

:54:39. > :54:44.one go likely. Of course, Emily Seebohm, the reigning world Champion

:54:45. > :54:52.one down from her. They are under the pace by half a second. Three are

:54:53. > :54:54.in with a shout here. That would be fantastic. Kathleen Dawson in fifth.

:54:55. > :55:01.On the left-hand side of the shot, closer to us, but the race in the

:55:02. > :55:06.centre, the white hat of Kylie Jacqueline Masse and the yellow hat

:55:07. > :55:14.of Emily Seebohm. The world-record belongs to Gemma Spofforth. 58.10.

:55:15. > :55:20.Just under. A new world record for Kylie Jacqueline Masse from Canada.

:55:21. > :55:28.The silver to Kathleen Baker from the USA and the bronze goes to

:55:29. > :55:35.Australia's Emily Seebohm. What a wonderful swim and so fast. Held it

:55:36. > :55:43.really well. The 80-year-old world-record set by Gemma Spofforth

:55:44. > :55:47.in 2009 in Rome has just gone. Kylie Jacqueline Masse, world champion.

:55:48. > :55:54.New world-record holder. She is known on the team for not letting

:55:55. > :56:01.the occasion get to her, for being able to shut out all expectations.

:56:02. > :56:05.She's a young woman but is doing it all. A World Championship gold medal

:56:06. > :56:10.as well. Her competitors got the better of her on the start but some

:56:11. > :56:14.work for her to do here but it was these last 50 metres where she was

:56:15. > :56:19.able to come through and put the hammer down and her finish,

:56:20. > :56:22.absolutely fantastic. Look at that picture perfect finish and that's

:56:23. > :56:27.what got her the world-record and where those seconds came from from

:56:28. > :56:33.last night. A big win from Canada. They have not been good this week.

:56:34. > :56:40.She was third with 25 metres to go. Clapping the new world-record for

:56:41. > :56:46.the Women's 100m Backstroke. She can't believe it. Taking in the

:56:47. > :56:50.plaudits. There were high expectations on her this week. She

:56:51. > :56:53.swam well all year. She was top three times this year and this young

:56:54. > :57:05.Canadian team, so much expected of them on the way in. Kylie Jacqueline

:57:06. > :57:12.Masse. A new world-record holder in the Women's 100m Backstroke, from

:57:13. > :57:17.Canada. Kathleen Baker, silver, and Emily Seebohm, the bronze.

:57:18. > :57:24.Huge congratulations to Kylie Jacqueline Masse but a shame for

:57:25. > :57:30.Britain because it was a British world-record which is for so long.

:57:31. > :57:33.Credit to Gemma because it was a fantastic swim at the time but it's

:57:34. > :57:37.good to see world-record go because it shows it's moving on. It's a

:57:38. > :57:41.shame for Kathleen Dawson who came eighth and did not get near her

:57:42. > :57:49.personal best. She went out too fast. It was all about the middle

:57:50. > :57:58.three lanes. For Kathleen, it's just experience. She dropped 1.5 seconds

:57:59. > :58:02.on the second but that will recover. We talk about doing your own race

:58:03. > :58:05.and that's what Kylie did in the middle there. She stuck to her own

:58:06. > :58:10.race plan which was to come back the last 25 metres and then she won the

:58:11. > :58:11.race. Let's hear from Kathleen because she's talking to Sharron

:58:12. > :58:20.Davies. A big step up for you, great

:58:21. > :58:24.experience on the way to Tokyo for you. I'm just taking each race as it

:58:25. > :58:31.comes and I'm loving it. What have you been able to take from this.

:58:32. > :58:36.Your dad is doing interviews next door, a fantastic example for the

:58:37. > :58:43.team. I know. Just to be here and experience it. It's a step up from

:58:44. > :58:48.Europeans such as those for them it's been amazing. I'm completely in

:58:49. > :58:53.awe of everything. I can't stop smiling I've had such a great time.

:58:54. > :58:59.Well done for that. I'm sure it's great experience for you. Thank you.

:59:00. > :59:03.Left not forget last day was quite frustrating for her. She didn't do

:59:04. > :59:07.the time she needed it trials but she would have been thinking I could

:59:08. > :59:10.have done Rio. Yes, of course, that was on the back of her mind and for

:59:11. > :59:13.the European Championships getting that bronze medal was a huge

:59:14. > :59:17.experience for her and she is one of the Tokyo athlete we should be

:59:18. > :59:24.looking out for. One of those athletes we can't stop looking at is

:59:25. > :59:29.Katie Ledecky was about to get her 12th World Championship gold medal

:59:30. > :59:32.because she of course took the Women's 1500m Freestyle in

:59:33. > :59:39.phenomenal form. We will look at her schedule because as it goes, she is

:59:40. > :59:44.one busy, busy lady. In terms of what she has taken on this week, it

:59:45. > :59:50.is 60 lengths of her normal swimming pool to get to the 1500. Add to

:59:51. > :59:55.that, the rest of the week, how hectic is that? If she does not swim

:59:56. > :00:01.at the heats, it is 6300 metres and that's just racing, not swim downs

:00:02. > :00:09.and everything else on top of that so it is a huge schedule for her.

:00:10. > :00:14.This is what we find every time at Hungarian athlete comes out, this

:00:15. > :00:24.place goes absolutely ballistic. I did not share a word you said. All

:00:25. > :00:30.we can hear is Hungary, Hungary. They are proud swimming nation. So

:00:31. > :00:35.why don't they have a bit of a celebration? Who can blame them? We

:00:36. > :00:41.have a busy schedule and next on BBC Two, the final of the Agarwal, Katie

:00:42. > :00:44.Ledecky again, she does not get time to enjoy her moment on the podium

:00:45. > :00:49.because she has got to get her tracksuit off and get back in the

:00:50. > :00:53.pool. She will go in the first semifinal of the 200 metres

:00:54. > :01:00.freestyle. At 6pm, if you want to stay with live swimming action,

:01:01. > :01:03.press your red button to see the Men's 200m Butterfly semifinals. No

:01:04. > :01:12.Michael Phelps so who will pinch his crown? You would get your Hungary,

:01:13. > :01:22.Hungary. You can join in. We will then go to go crazy for Sarah Vasey.

:01:23. > :01:26.She goes in the Women's 100m Breast Stroke. We have talked a lot about

:01:27. > :01:31.Katie Ledecky, but now let's talk about a Swedish swimming superstar.

:01:32. > :01:46.I managed that. She has been talking to us.

:01:47. > :01:57.Sarah Sjoestroem, gold again, Sarah Sjoestroem of Sweden gets the gold.

:01:58. > :02:05.Am really happy with it so far. Working more on your freestyle than

:02:06. > :02:09.butterfly at the moment? I decided to work more on my technique to

:02:10. > :02:18.become a better sprinter, 100 free, and it worked out pretty well. You

:02:19. > :02:21.started very young. Eight years ago I took my first gold medal in the

:02:22. > :02:26.World Championships, so yesterday was my fourth gold medal in the 100

:02:27. > :02:33.fly, which I am very happy about. What keeps you sow inspired? I love

:02:34. > :02:37.being an athlete, it is more fun now than it was when I was 15, I am

:02:38. > :02:44.enjoying being a swimmer more than ever at the moment, and I am doing

:02:45. > :02:51.really well, but I outside competing, all these things that I

:02:52. > :02:54.really enjoy. Often in track and field, people go up distances, but

:02:55. > :02:59.in swimming you go down the distance. Yeah, because in swimming

:03:00. > :03:08.we have to train so much more than track and field, we train for two

:03:09. > :03:13.hours but only swim for 25 seconds! More world records to come this

:03:14. > :03:18.week? I have been very close many times in the 50 freestyle, like we

:03:19. > :03:24.saw on the first day of the meet, I was very fast in the 100 free, so if

:03:25. > :03:32.I do a fast start, I am sure I can be close to the world record, I will

:03:33. > :03:38.see. STUDIO: She has got a busy week

:03:39. > :03:43.dared, she has got the 100 metres freestyle heats on Thursday, back in

:03:44. > :03:47.the pool on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, talk us through what we can

:03:48. > :03:53.expect to see from her this week. Don't be fooled by the fifth in the

:03:54. > :03:58.relay, I think we will see gold, gold, gold, apart from the medley

:03:59. > :04:04.relay, I think she will win four, and I would not be surprised if she

:04:05. > :04:10.breaks the 50 free world record. She is focusing more on her freestyle

:04:11. > :04:15.technique, she trains in Sweden with a guy who used to train the Olympic

:04:16. > :04:21.silver medallist in 50 freestyle, so she is focusing more on freestyle.

:04:22. > :04:26.Being around as printers and being in that environment means she will

:04:27. > :04:35.get faster. -- being around sprinters. There is an elite group

:04:36. > :04:38.training in Turkey at the moment. There is a professional programme

:04:39. > :04:42.where lots of different people from around Europe, and train in one

:04:43. > :04:46.place, and they are paid to swim in that place. It is becoming

:04:47. > :04:49.professional in that sense, a bit like footballers, but they are not

:04:50. > :04:56.paid the same amount of money, they are paid to swim for a particular

:04:57. > :05:01.club and company. Is it a shame for British swimming? It is a shame that

:05:02. > :05:06.Gibson is training over there, he was our sprint coach out until last

:05:07. > :05:09.year, I would like to see another space made available for him in the

:05:10. > :05:14.UK to have a sprint programme in the UK. Whether there was not space for

:05:15. > :05:25.him, I don't know, but when you have got somebody with that knowledge, we

:05:26. > :05:33.should be having sprinters in the programme in our country. Back to

:05:34. > :05:38.Sarah, you mentioned the relay, she set a world record, she took her

:05:39. > :05:43.first world title in 2009, and there is no sign of her dominance leading

:05:44. > :05:47.up. She openly speaks about the fact that she wants to continue, and most

:05:48. > :05:54.athletes are saying, yeah, I will go to the next Olympics, but she wants

:05:55. > :05:56.to be in the sport another ten or 12 years possibly, and she definitely

:05:57. > :06:06.has the capability of doing that. This was her last night in flight,

:06:07. > :06:11.what is it that is so good about her technique? When it comes to

:06:12. > :06:14.technique in butterfly, well, butterfly and breaststroke in

:06:15. > :06:21.particular, it is all down to timing, how much water you can hold

:06:22. > :06:24.but the timing element. She just gets it perfect, and when you get

:06:25. > :06:30.the perfect motion, you get so much more of a shoot forward, but she is

:06:31. > :06:35.also stronger than everybody else. Next up, the men's 100 metres

:06:36. > :06:38.backstroke final, we talked a lot about Chris Walker-Hebborn, we are

:06:39. > :06:44.hoping we will see him in the relays later in the week, fingers crossed

:06:45. > :06:50.he will be fighting fit and on form, but now over to Andy and Steve to

:06:51. > :06:58.take us through the men's 100 metres backstroke final.

:06:59. > :07:01.COMMENTATOR: And what a line-up it is, the Olympic champion in five,

:07:02. > :07:07.the world record holder is not the favourite. The Olympic champion in

:07:08. > :07:13.2012, Grevers, number three. The defending world champion, Mitchell

:07:14. > :07:19.Larkin, is not the favourite. It is Xu of China in four. Quite

:07:20. > :07:26.extraordinary, Xu of China, the world record-holder is held by the

:07:27. > :07:32.man in lane five, Xu has 51.86 this year. For me, Andy, we have a battle

:07:33. > :07:39.between the technicians and the power boys, and this is one of the

:07:40. > :07:42.power colours, Matt Grevers, the Olympic champion in 2012, an

:07:43. > :07:50.absolute monster of a human being, six foot six, weighing in at 15

:07:51. > :07:53.stone, he is huge, but this is the current Olympic champion, also world

:07:54. > :07:59.record, Ryan Murphy, very casual there! I have never seen a guy

:08:00. > :08:06.coming out with his hands in his pockets before he comes out to race.

:08:07. > :08:10.And here is another technician, Xu, 0.01 off the world record earlier

:08:11. > :08:15.this year at the Chinese trials, and he absolutely shuts down yesterday.

:08:16. > :08:18.He only swam to about 60 metres and then turned the afterburner is on

:08:19. > :08:23.and coasted in and still the fastest qualifier. The very confidence that

:08:24. > :08:29.this guy is going to tear these other fellas apart, but just watch,

:08:30. > :08:32.for any age group swimmers, what a beautiful technique that Xu has got,

:08:33. > :08:45.and here we go in lane six. There is the defending world

:08:46. > :08:51.champion, Mitchell Larkin, there is Irie of Japan in lane six. The quick

:08:52. > :09:00.guys are in three, four, five and seven. Grevers, Xu, Murphy and

:09:01. > :09:04.Larkin. Where do the medals go? I think we are going to see a changing

:09:05. > :09:09.of the guard, America has been dominant for so many years in 100

:09:10. > :09:13.metres backstroke. I feel like the dominance is going to switch to

:09:14. > :09:18.Asia, Xu just looks in superb form to me. But it is all going to be

:09:19. > :09:32.about the start, they have got to get away.

:09:33. > :09:44.That was interesting, Irie very slow up in six, what a fantastic start,

:09:45. > :09:47.though, from Xu of China, that is amazing. Normally Ryan Murphy is a

:09:48. > :09:52.super starter, but Xu killed him on the start. Very rare you see the

:09:53. > :09:58.Americans being beaten on the start, and this is not the best part of

:09:59. > :10:03.Xu's race, that is still to come. He has turned well, 0.01 and a world

:10:04. > :10:07.record pace, Ryan Murphy, not only is he going to lose, but he might

:10:08. > :10:14.see his world record go down. This is where Xu gets strong, 25 metres

:10:15. > :10:19.to go, but Matt Grevers and Ryan Murphy are saying no! Definitely not

:10:20. > :10:25.over here, Murphy is one lane closed to us than Xu in the yellow hat in

:10:26. > :10:33.the centre, Grevers in three, Murphy in five, but it is Xu, Xu is the

:10:34. > :10:38.world champion, 52.4 or from Matt Grevers of the USA. Grevers gets the

:10:39. > :10:42.silver, the bronze goes to Murphy of the USA. Xu of China takes gold, a

:10:43. > :10:50.little bit slower than I thought, I have to say. What a race that was,

:10:51. > :10:55.though. Xu won it at the start. It looked so easy yesterday, I cannot

:10:56. > :11:00.believe he has only got 52.44, exactly the same time as he went

:11:01. > :11:04.yesterday. But he swam it so differently, really went out as hard

:11:05. > :11:08.as he could, didn't seem to have it on the back end, but there is a

:11:09. > :11:11.reason the Americans are both Olympic champions, and that is

:11:12. > :11:16.because they do not quit. They didn't want to concede that title,

:11:17. > :11:22.but look what it means to Xu there. His start was amazing, Andy, I think

:11:23. > :11:25.five might have gone a little bit earlier, but the result has been

:11:26. > :11:32.confirmed, no challenge. But to be beating the Americans to 50, highly

:11:33. > :11:34.and usual. Just look at that stroke, though, Andy, really fantastic

:11:35. > :11:40.rotation, beautifully still head position. Confidence down the first

:11:41. > :11:47.50, he actually ended up losing by a smaller margin. He must have had his

:11:48. > :11:51.heart in his mouth with five metres to go, in absolute agony, but only

:11:52. > :11:58.thinking about spotting the finish, and that is what he did, and touched

:11:59. > :12:02.Grevers. That is not easy to do, six foot six Grevers is a monster! But

:12:03. > :12:13.Xu is the new world champion of the 100 metres men's backstroke after

:12:14. > :12:18.silver in Rio. I have to say, that time, 52.4, a fascinating results.

:12:19. > :12:26.We have talked an awful lot at these games about technique, the amount of

:12:27. > :12:29.technique that swimmers are doing in training now, much more so than in

:12:30. > :12:36.the past. We doing enough in Great Britain, I wonder? So the result of

:12:37. > :12:41.the men's 100 metres backstroke, Xu wins gold for China, great gold for

:12:42. > :12:47.them. Silver and bronze go to the USA, the last two Olympic champions.

:12:48. > :12:52.We got a bit excited, we thought we might see another world record

:12:53. > :12:56.toppled. It was slower than the semifinals, surprisingly, but a

:12:57. > :13:01.fantastic race, we were on the edge of our seats, we had no clue who was

:13:02. > :13:07.going to take that. Let's look at the start again, you noticed

:13:08. > :13:12.something, Mark. The first 25 metres is where Xu won the race, and we are

:13:13. > :13:17.used to the Americans being best on the first length, there he is in the

:13:18. > :13:20.top of the yellow lanes, and he was a good good ahead of the others, and

:13:21. > :13:26.you never see the Americans coming behind. That is not normally the way

:13:27. > :13:30.he runs a race, he normally comes from the back, so surprise into see

:13:31. > :13:35.him do that. Earlier in the year, the only missed the world record by

:13:36. > :13:41.0.01, so you thought he was going to take it down, but he got a little

:13:42. > :13:44.bit tight towards the end here. Incredible to see Grevers comeback,

:13:45. > :13:51.he has had a challenging year, should you say? Not making Rio and

:13:52. > :13:55.things. He is six foot eight! You just think, he is huge, you think

:13:56. > :14:02.his arms oh so long he would be able to get to the wall first anyway. It

:14:03. > :14:08.was just an incredible race, one that was slightly disappointing

:14:09. > :14:13.timewise, I am not going to lie. As a race goes, what a great race, so

:14:14. > :14:20.tight towards the end, we have seen Adam Peaty destroy people, which we

:14:21. > :14:26.love, but that was cat and mouse. Adam Peaty has boiled us, hasn't

:14:27. > :14:29.he?! Talking of Ledecky, she is back in the pool once again, time for the

:14:30. > :14:40.women's 200 metres freestyle semifinal. And the first semifinal

:14:41. > :14:45.this is, absolutely stacked, Leah Smith and Emma McKeon both very

:14:46. > :14:48.quick, but Katie Ledecky, the most successful female swimmer in World

:14:49. > :14:57.Championship history, goes in four for the USA. Katerine Savard of

:14:58. > :15:05.Canada, Canada have not had the greatest meet so far, but China

:15:06. > :15:11.having a very good meet. The bronze in the fourth of metres freestyle

:15:12. > :15:16.was a big surprise. And if the Chinese are having a good meet,

:15:17. > :15:19.France are not. We have hardly seen anything from France, over the last

:15:20. > :15:22.few World Championships they have dominated, but this is one of the

:15:23. > :15:28.first French contenders I can remember. They have had glum faces

:15:29. > :15:33.all week! We have a plenty to smile about, I am OK with that!

:15:34. > :15:43.This is quite a field. It was gold in the 400 metres to Katie Ledecky,

:15:44. > :15:53.silver to Smith and bronze to Li of China. McKeon swam the 100 final.

:15:54. > :16:00.This is going to be quite an interesting race. I think it's going

:16:01. > :16:04.to be very fast indeed. She has swum the Women's 1500m Freestyle already,

:16:05. > :16:07.just outside her world-record, the defending champion, but if there is

:16:08. > :16:13.one she is in danger of losing, Steve, could it be this one? For

:16:14. > :16:19.sure, this is a her weakest event. If you could call it that. The older

:16:20. > :16:22.she gets, I know she is only 20, but the turnaround she has to do in

:16:23. > :16:29.these World Championships is ridiculously tough. She was in the

:16:30. > :16:32.water no more than an hour ago swimming 30 lengths. She's had to

:16:33. > :16:40.put her tracksuit back on, get her medal and now get ready to do this.

:16:41. > :16:46.A great PB from McKeon by one second early in the week. Can she transfer

:16:47. > :16:52.her form to her 200 metre freestyle? If she does, she will give Katie

:16:53. > :17:01.Ledecky a scare. The first semifinal of the 200 metres freestyle. Katie

:17:02. > :17:06.Ledecky in fourth for the USA. She has been outstanding, Katie Ledecky.

:17:07. > :17:09.May be the first time we've seen something relatively average. She is

:17:10. > :17:15.working really hard down the first 25 metres. The Black hat in the

:17:16. > :17:23.centre, third or fourth at the moment. She has got to be tired. She

:17:24. > :17:26.is not Superwoman. She has got to work here. She's got to make sure

:17:27. > :17:34.she gets flew to the final tonight in one of the centre lanes. Emma

:17:35. > :17:42.McKeon fancies this. An incredible world-record set by Federico

:17:43. > :17:49.Pellegrini in Rome in 2009. I think she will pay for this. She is, of

:17:50. > :17:54.course, having Katie Ledecky behind her. She already looks to me like

:17:55. > :18:03.she might be starting to tire. Well, in Lane number five, McKeon in

:18:04. > :18:10.Australia, turning first. They do have a team, France, but the French

:18:11. > :18:13.swimmers are in short supply at the moment. Katie Ledecky now starting

:18:14. > :18:19.to move. Viewed said she did 30 lengths in the pool freestyle and

:18:20. > :18:24.won the gold medal and then did another 30 just to swim down and she

:18:25. > :18:30.is now starting to move and get into her rib. She is looking really

:18:31. > :18:35.strong, just taking the lead, second behind McKeon. She's an Olympic

:18:36. > :18:42.medallist but it looks like she is starting to tire. She may get second

:18:43. > :18:49.but I think she's doing what she has to do. Her legs are starting to kick

:18:50. > :18:54.to get her home. The pain she going through now must be extraordinary.

:18:55. > :19:02.She the Women's 1500m Freestyle and she is digging in. That is tough.

:19:03. > :19:06.After a freestyler 15 minutes 30. That is just amazing. She is

:19:07. > :19:13.superhuman. She is going for the double quadruple. She won them all

:19:14. > :19:18.at the World Championships two years ago and has already won the 400

:19:19. > :19:24.metres and the 1500 metres here. Are you going to take the 200 metres off

:19:25. > :19:29.her, Steve? Not on that form. What Adam Peaty is doing in the sprint

:19:30. > :19:33.events, she is matching in the women's in during freestyle. She's

:19:34. > :19:37.got the fastest time in the world this year after winning a 1500 metre

:19:38. > :19:45.freestyle. She won't have it all her own way because if anybody will

:19:46. > :19:48.pressure back it'll be the world record holder Frederica Pellegrini,

:19:49. > :19:54.who goes in the second semifinal. An absolute masterclass. She allowed

:19:55. > :19:59.McKeon to go out and just turned it on when she needed to. I didn't

:20:00. > :20:02.think we would see a date when a woman would dominate in all the

:20:03. > :20:09.races full stop I think she could do it again. It's extraordinary. Most

:20:10. > :20:16.local pools are 25 metres. Katie Ledecky, the first semifinal, very

:20:17. > :20:27.quick time. Very quick for those two. The second semifinal is fast.

:20:28. > :20:42.Here they are. Frederica Pellegrini goes in for. Her gold medal is on

:20:43. > :20:52.2009 and 2011. It is just phenomenal. Of course, she's opted

:20:53. > :20:58.not to do 200 metres freestyle and has a very tough sprint programme,

:20:59. > :21:01.but it leaves the door open. She got the silver medals in the Olympic

:21:02. > :21:09.Games, Sarah, but there's plenty of high quality swimmers here who could

:21:10. > :21:14.take this away. She's never got a major games medal here on the 200

:21:15. > :21:18.metres freestyle. She has stepped up, Garashi, in front of this home

:21:19. > :21:25.crowd and wants to bring home some more hardware. The crowd here I

:21:26. > :21:34.think is the loudest I've ever had, maybe only beaten by London 2012 at

:21:35. > :21:42.the Olympics. It's a very similar style, they go nuts for their

:21:43. > :21:47.players. Swimming the third fastest into the second semifinal after the

:21:48. > :21:51.heats. An Olympic semifinalist. Sheer she is.

:21:52. > :21:59.CROWD CHEERS Listen to that. You can hardly hear

:22:00. > :22:03.yourself think. Hosszu won the individual medley here and the crowd

:22:04. > :22:12.went absolutely bananas. Next to her, the greatest woman in history,

:22:13. > :22:21.Pellegrini, the world-record holder. 1:52.9. That's a crazy time, Andy.

:22:22. > :22:30.Alway back in 2009, eight years ago. She 28 years of age but she's been

:22:31. > :22:34.hit countless times, always here. It was set when those shiny suits were

:22:35. > :22:39.allowed which have now been banned. They've now gone back to text file

:22:40. > :22:48.suits and it's made a difference. It really did. -- text file suits. --

:22:49. > :23:03.textile suits. Katie Ledecky when the first

:23:04. > :23:17.semifinal. -- won the first semifinal. The second semifinal now.

:23:18. > :23:27.Pellegrini looked good on that start. Underwater maybe not quite as

:23:28. > :23:31.good. But very much in line. Hosszu in the centre may be getting the

:23:32. > :23:38.best start in the Red Hat. Hosszu using the full 15 butterfly legs all

:23:39. > :23:44.the way. Look at them they are. Nobody breaking away, six of them.

:23:45. > :23:51.The Hong Kong swimmer at the top there. Coleman got a personal best

:23:52. > :23:57.in Stockholm. She has the second fastest time in the world, so we

:23:58. > :24:01.might see a race here across the whole sum improve. Pellegrini has

:24:02. > :24:07.not settled here at all, Andy. Even from the start. -- the whole

:24:08. > :24:13.swimming pool. It's not happening at this stage. She does tend to go off

:24:14. > :24:17.slower and rented up about now. She's got some work to do simple to

:24:18. > :24:23.make sure she gets through to the final. It's just a semifinal. I

:24:24. > :24:30.would imagine 75 metres, up still looking around, Pellegrini, playing

:24:31. > :24:34.cat and mouse. Letting a lot of the other women doing a lot of the work.

:24:35. > :24:41.Hosszu in the white hat in the centre. Hosszu cannot win this,

:24:42. > :24:50.surely. I know she is tough as old boots, but it's not meant to be her

:24:51. > :24:54.event. Coleman and Ai also digging in at this stage. Pellegrini in the

:24:55. > :24:59.middle of the poll does not like Hosszu. She's on the record as

:25:00. > :25:04.saying that. She is showing her class in the last 15. This will be

:25:05. > :25:22.pretty tight. Pellegrini, tracking him now is Hosszu. Not bad. Hosszu

:25:23. > :25:29.second. She may well make the final. That will be something special.

:25:30. > :25:36.Katie Ledecky will go the fastest. A little bit of cat and mouse. A

:25:37. > :25:38.little bit slow down the first 100. They've got to be careful because

:25:39. > :25:46.the first semifinal was really strong. Katie Ledecky dragging

:25:47. > :25:49.everyone along. She's only going in fourth now, Pellegrini, so those

:25:50. > :25:56.guys were taking a chance. Pellegrini, right after blocks. That

:25:57. > :25:59.it was Hosszu who came up I had of her, really good butterfly legs

:26:00. > :26:04.underwater. Let's see what's going on with Hosszu on the turn of. Akiva

:26:05. > :26:11.is not spending any time on the wall. Maintaining that speed on the

:26:12. > :26:18.way out. Look at this finish. They've had some needle outside of

:26:19. > :26:21.the water, Hosszu and Pellegrini. It's important to get the hand on

:26:22. > :26:29.the wall and that's what Pellegrini do well. She fancies it, doesn't

:26:30. > :26:34.she, Hosszu? I think she gave a wry smile to Pellegrini. But Pellegrini

:26:35. > :26:41.is having none of it. Confirmation of the result of a second semifinal,

:26:42. > :26:46.Pellegrini wins it. The fastest three from the first semifinal will

:26:47. > :26:58.go into the final. Pellegrini will only be forth, I believe. Let's just

:26:59. > :27:02.check. Two Americans in the final. Pellegrini and Hosszu, fourth and

:27:03. > :27:04.fifth. A French swimmer in the final. That final tomorrow night

:27:05. > :27:13.will be pretty hectic. It's one of my most excited races,

:27:14. > :27:16.I'm not going to lie because the 200 metres is just so tight and close

:27:17. > :27:22.and I'm so excited to see who can get on the podium. The headline act

:27:23. > :27:27.for the Hungarians is clearly Hosszu but Adam Peaty in action tomorrow

:27:28. > :27:30.night. How excited are you? Extremely excited. It's whether he

:27:31. > :27:35.will break his own world record again. Complete dominance and a

:27:36. > :27:39.masterclass. The swimming coverage continues on the red button if you

:27:40. > :27:44.want to see the 100 beta breast stroke final and see Sarah Vasey in

:27:45. > :27:49.action. Press your red button in a minute. Tomorrow night from 4:30pm

:27:50. > :27:54.on BBC Two, Adam Peaty goes in the breaststroke final and don't forget

:27:55. > :28:00.to download the podcast from the BBC five live team. What a day for Adam

:28:01. > :28:04.Peaty. Two world-record in the bag. You can see him tomorrow night and

:28:05. > :28:09.join us if you can. Bye-bye.
