:00:10. > :00:13.A STUDIO: Welcome to Devonshire bark.

:00:14. > :00:18.You left us an hour ago with Heather Watson really on the ropes in the

:00:19. > :00:22.semifinal against Caroline Wozniacki, but she landed a barrage

:00:23. > :00:28.of blows in the second set and now we are in the third, live, on serve,

:00:29. > :00:36.on a knife edge, really. This game could go anyway. Let's go to Gigi

:00:37. > :00:40.Salmon and Sam Smith. COMMENTATOR: This is the business

:00:41. > :00:49.end of the deciding set in the Eastbourne semifinal.

:00:50. > :01:01.Watson has been more aggressive at the end of the second set, to take

:01:02. > :01:08.it into this decider. Facing a player with 25 singles titles, one

:01:09. > :01:14.of them here, world number six. She is playing one of the best match

:01:15. > :01:19.players on the tour, someone who does not fear these situations. She

:01:20. > :01:24.thrives when it is close and she has to battle.

:01:25. > :01:35.Her father and coach and hitting partner of Wozniacki watching on.

:01:36. > :01:42.The first meeting between them on grass, but the third overall. The

:01:43. > :02:00.previous two coming last year. The head-to-head is level.

:02:01. > :02:06.Fairly consistently first serve today. Heather's serving has been a

:02:07. > :02:44.feature of her success this week, and in this match.

:02:45. > :02:47.Great ball striking from both players, but Watson brings up a game

:02:48. > :03:04.point. Look where she is, toes write-up on

:03:05. > :03:10.the baseline. That has been a factor in the first set. A couple of metres

:03:11. > :03:45.behind, it has improved dramatically in the past hour.

:03:46. > :03:57.What a shot from Heather Watson. Wozniacki will go for the challenge.

:03:58. > :04:08.And it was right to challenge. The crowd settles back down. We find

:04:09. > :04:14.ourselves at deuce. How important is the technology? This is why we have

:04:15. > :04:20.it, for pivotal movements. -- moments. Great to see Heather really

:04:21. > :04:32.going for it, getting on the front foot and looking to make it happen.

:04:33. > :04:56.A nice 1- to punch from Watson off the serve.

:04:57. > :05:02.And that is the game. One hour and 53 minutes on court. Nothing to

:05:03. > :05:27.split these two. Caroline Wozniacki coming into this

:05:28. > :05:31.contest had spent half the time on court than Watson had. She had been

:05:32. > :05:40.despatching her opponent until she met the world number two, Simona

:05:41. > :05:45.Halep, in the last round. Interesting, new balls here. Some

:05:46. > :05:49.players like them. Neither of these two have changed their brackets,

:05:50. > :05:54.which you would see on the men's tour. And I wonder how secure

:05:55. > :06:00.Heather feels in continuing to be aggressive with these new balls.

:06:01. > :06:08.Wozniacki is also serving as good as she has been in this match. In the

:06:09. > :06:12.high 70s. Constantly taking something off the first serve,

:06:13. > :06:15.because she is managing an abdominal injury and she does not want to be

:06:16. > :06:21.fallout, to a full extension. As a result, the first serve

:06:22. > :06:37.percentage has gone up. Wozniacki took a medical time-out of

:06:38. > :06:43.the court after the seventh game of the second set to treat that injury.

:06:44. > :07:04.Had the trainer on a couple of times since, to apply tape to the area.

:07:05. > :07:12.That was a confident and comfortable hold for Caroline Wozniacki, winner

:07:13. > :07:21.here in 2009 and in her fourth Eastbourne semifinal will stop

:07:22. > :07:29.putting her within one game to returning to the final. I'm sure

:07:30. > :07:34.Heather, in her mind will be, just hold serve, put what pressure you

:07:35. > :07:40.can back on Caroline Wozniacki. She is the one under pressure in this

:07:41. > :07:43.deciding set. Although she broke first, she was immediately broken

:07:44. > :07:48.back and since then Caroline has only lost four points in the last

:07:49. > :07:53.three service games. She has found a comfortable place with the injury

:07:54. > :07:57.and her serving rhythm. Heather, in the past couple of service games,

:07:58. > :08:06.she has had to battle through. And the hold to love from Caroline

:08:07. > :08:11.Wozniacki, puts pressure on Heather. We are on serve, but I feel momentum

:08:12. > :08:17.with Wozniacki, and she is as tough as they come in these situations.

:08:18. > :08:23.She has done a lot of wedding this year. 34 match wins on the main

:08:24. > :08:27.tour, Heather has nine. It is in these conversations at the end of

:08:28. > :08:34.these matches, where that stat matters. By contrast, Watson had won

:08:35. > :08:36.only five top-level matches this year before this tournament. That

:08:37. > :08:42.was the difference between them coming into this.

:08:43. > :08:51.The pressure on Heather Watson as dark clouds gather above Centre

:08:52. > :08:59.Court. We have avoided them so for. Watson with it all to do.

:09:00. > :10:07.The coaching team of Caroline Wozniacki watch on.

:10:08. > :10:17.It did not miss by much. Wozniacki going for the challenge. She is

:10:18. > :10:24.pretty good with the technology, Caroline, two from two in this

:10:25. > :10:33.match. Heather zero from three. There we go, she is three from

:10:34. > :10:36.three. That is the shot of the match, it was extraordinary. It just

:10:37. > :11:09.puts a little pressure on Watson here.

:11:10. > :11:14.Great play from Heather Watson. Once again she drew the short ball, she

:11:15. > :11:47.came in, she attacked. Before the score is confirmed we

:11:48. > :11:51.will have a challenge to get through.

:11:52. > :12:41.UMPIRE: Miss Watson is challenging the call.

:12:42. > :12:49.Heather Watson confident the ball did miss. She has not been

:12:50. > :12:52.successful, as Sam said, with her challengers. But there we go.

:12:53. > :13:28.Success for Watson with Hawk-Eye. Write to take it on but she did not

:13:29. > :13:33.quite moved her feet to make room for the swing. I think it was a

:13:34. > :13:36.better second serve than she was thinking might happen, but good to

:13:37. > :13:39.see the intent and that will certainly be logged by Wozniacki if

:13:40. > :13:51.she has another second serve in this game.

:13:52. > :15:03.Yes, that is when she just armpit. She did not load onto the right leg,

:15:04. > :15:35.she did not get the hit back -- she armed it.

:15:36. > :15:42.There is the frustration from Heather Watson. She felt she should

:15:43. > :15:49.have done better. It means Caroline Wozniacki is again within one game

:15:50. > :15:53.of booking a place in the final. Sam, as much as you can teach the

:15:54. > :15:58.technical, you can sit down and work on the mental side of things, when

:15:59. > :16:02.you are out there, the nerves hit. You mentioned the tension in a

:16:03. > :16:07.couple of shots from Heather. It does not matter how much you talk

:16:08. > :16:12.about it, I imagine you cannot replicate being out on the court in

:16:13. > :16:15.those situations. As Billie Jean King has said many times, poor

:16:16. > :16:24.technique breaks down under pressure and it is well-known in the locker

:16:25. > :16:27.room, Heather's forehand can be good when she is confident and committed

:16:28. > :16:30.to it that you want to go there in the big moments because she tends to

:16:31. > :16:35.fear it and not commit to the shot and often make a mistake. She was

:16:36. > :16:43.just starting to get to Wozniacki at 30-30 and then missed two forehands.

:16:44. > :16:48.You cannot do that, Caroline is one of the best in the world. If Heather

:16:49. > :16:53.can address that and the second serve, which has looked better in

:16:54. > :16:56.the matchup, the ranking will take care of itself. With the live

:16:57. > :17:06.rankings, should Heather Watson's run at Eastbourne and here she will

:17:07. > :17:13.remain 102. If she won the title, she would go to 69. 470 points up

:17:14. > :17:21.for grabs. Carolina Pliskova, she has defended her find points from

:17:22. > :17:48.last year. He will she face? -- who will she face?

:17:49. > :17:57.It is the difference for Watson between waiting for something to

:17:58. > :18:01.happen and making it happen. She kind of walks that line carefully,

:18:02. > :18:09.sometimes too carefully, in so many of her matches.

:18:10. > :18:15.A good change up again from Watson. I have not seen the drop shot for a

:18:16. > :18:58.while from Heather Watson. I have been watching Caroline since

:18:59. > :19:03.she was 15, winning junior Wimbledon, and I have to say, her

:19:04. > :19:08.work ethic, her desire to scramble for every ball, I do not think I

:19:09. > :19:09.have ever seen her give up on a single ball on court in all those

:19:10. > :19:35.years. Match points, Caroline Wozniacki,

:19:36. > :20:08.two of them for the Dane and world number six.

:20:09. > :20:50.There it is. Heather Watson's great run at Eastbourne is over and it is

:20:51. > :20:56.the world number six winner here in 2009. Her father and hitting partner

:20:57. > :21:00.get on their feet. A lovely embrace from the players at the net by

:21:01. > :21:05.Caroline Wozniacki goes through to the final, it has taken two hours

:21:06. > :21:11.and nine minutes. A huge smile as he would expect on the face of the

:21:12. > :21:18.Dane, because she is through against Heather Watson.

:21:19. > :21:25.Great reception for Heather Watson from the crowd and she applauds them

:21:26. > :21:34.herself. What a week at Eastbourne, in as a wild card, 126 in the

:21:35. > :21:43.rankings. As we see the father of Caroline Wozniacki making his way

:21:44. > :21:47.around the court. Her hitting partner was formerly with Serena

:21:48. > :21:50.Williams. There was a slight abdominal problem with Caroline

:21:51. > :21:58.Wozniacki, so we will have to keep an eye out for that. For the first

:21:59. > :22:04.time since 2009, and she fell in the semifinal 2013, 14 and 15, but back

:22:05. > :22:10.in the final since 2009. On that occasion she won. She will look for

:22:11. > :22:15.singles title number 26. What a perfect way to set up going into

:22:16. > :22:23.Wimbledon. The sun is still shining. We have avoided the rain. And here

:22:24. > :22:29.is Caroline Wozniacki speaking with Annabel Croft.

:22:30. > :22:34.Well played, a terrific contest, over two hours. What made the

:22:35. > :22:39.difference in the final set? It could have gone both ways, honestly.

:22:40. > :22:43.Heather and I have played two times before and both of them were tough

:22:44. > :22:50.matches. I knew it would be difficult. I got lucky today. It did

:22:51. > :22:54.not look like luck. You pulled out terrific tennis. What did she do

:22:55. > :22:59.that was so tricky and what did you do particularly well? She is a great

:23:00. > :23:04.player, she mixes up the pace and serves well and on the grass she

:23:05. > :23:10.really knows how tactically to play it. A lot of credit to her. You

:23:11. > :23:14.played a lot of tennis yesterday. You are probably suffering

:23:15. > :23:20.physically today. You had treatment. How are you feeling physically? We

:23:21. > :23:25.played seven sets in a day and a half, it is a lot. I am happy to be

:23:26. > :23:30.through to the final and it is great to be hair. It is your fourth final

:23:31. > :23:34.this year and second at Eastbourne and you will face Karolina Pliskova.

:23:35. > :23:40.You have a good record against her but your first meeting on the grass.

:23:41. > :23:46.What match do you expect? She will be more rested. She did not play

:23:47. > :23:50.today. I will go out and do my best. I have been grinding all week and

:23:51. > :23:57.fighting and I feel I have played well so I hope I can continue. We

:23:58. > :24:02.look forward to you in the final. Caroline Wozniacki!

:24:03. > :24:08.STUDIO: Having laid waste to the best Eastern Europe can throw at

:24:09. > :24:13.her, including Cibulkova, Strycova of the Czech Republic, the Great

:24:14. > :24:18.Dane that is Caroline Wozniacki beat her. Heather will be encouraged,

:24:19. > :24:23.despite the obvious disappointment of the moment, will be in courage by

:24:24. > :24:28.the upswing in her performance. We began by saying we had two British

:24:29. > :24:32.players in the semifinals at Eastbourne for the first time ever.

:24:33. > :24:37.We do not have a representative in the final because Heather has lost

:24:38. > :24:42.an Jo Konta announced because of the fall sustained yesterday, she felt

:24:43. > :24:46.it was best not to take part in her semifinal. Those are the pictures of

:24:47. > :24:56.her in her press conference earlier. She looks in good spirits and is

:24:57. > :24:59.walking quite well, but the injury she sustained, and that was one

:25:00. > :25:02.almighty fall at pace, to her thoracic spine. A lot of people

:25:03. > :25:08.saying that Eastbourne is a big deal, but Wimbledon is a big deal on

:25:09. > :25:12.a grander scale. So if you are not fit to play today do not risk your

:25:13. > :25:16.hopes at Wimbledon in a couple of days, because she hopes to become

:25:17. > :25:22.the first British champion at Wimbledon in 40 years.

:25:23. > :25:28.How are you feeling? You have an injury and have withdrawn from the

:25:29. > :25:33.match today. I had a nasty fall yesterday and we were doing the best

:25:34. > :25:38.to recover well today but it was not quick enough. I am still saw through

:25:39. > :25:43.my thoracic spine so looking to recover well and taking one day at a

:25:44. > :25:48.time. Last night you felt OK apart from the shock and you were checked

:25:49. > :25:54.for concussion. Did you have a bad night's sleek? I did not sleep too

:25:55. > :25:59.well. I am not diagnosed a concussion yet but we are monitoring

:26:00. > :26:04.my symptoms. What prevented me playing today was my pain through my

:26:05. > :26:08.thoracic spine. It is your home tournament, the fans love you here,

:26:09. > :26:13.so presumably a disappointing decision? We kept it until the last

:26:14. > :26:19.minute to really give myself the best chance of playing today. It is

:26:20. > :26:24.the best decision for my health, and that is the most important thing. A

:26:25. > :26:32.couple of days from Wimbledon, which is part of the precaution, but do

:26:33. > :26:38.you feel you will be OK? The decision is purely based on where my

:26:39. > :26:43.health is right now. It is a big tournament next week for all of us.

:26:44. > :26:47.It is something I have to disregard when it comes to my health, which

:26:48. > :26:53.has to come first and I am doing everything I can to be ready for

:26:54. > :26:56.Wimbledon. I am taking it a day at a time and whatever is best for my

:26:57. > :27:04.health. This is what the campaign would be

:27:05. > :27:10.in an ideal world for Jo Konta. She plays on Monday in her first round

:27:11. > :27:19.match say she has 24 hours less to recover than if she were playing on

:27:20. > :27:24.Tuesday. But that is a hard route. Vekic. Petra Kvitova, given

:27:25. > :27:32.everything that has happened to her, she seems like a player reborn and

:27:33. > :27:37.twice a champion here. Angelique Kerber, it would be a rematch of the

:27:38. > :27:44.match here yesterday. Sam Smith, that is a nice easy route to the

:27:45. > :27:50.final! Hsieh Su-wei, lost two at the French Open and Vekic at Nottingham,

:27:51. > :27:56.but I bank on some of the names will not be there. Because of the erratic

:27:57. > :28:01.nature of the draw. The erratic nature of women's tennis will come

:28:02. > :28:06.to the fore. A wise call not to play today? I was in commentary and she

:28:07. > :28:12.took all the impact on her back. I think she might have tweaked her

:28:13. > :28:17.ankle. It was one of the worst falls I have seen in a long time and I was

:28:18. > :28:23.surprise she got up from it. There has to be bruising and the fact she

:28:24. > :28:28.plays on Monday, and look at the opponent she was playing, Karolina

:28:29. > :28:35.Pliskova. No point going out against her, even at 80%. It was a shame for

:28:36. > :28:41.the tournament. I woke up this morning thinking two Brits in the

:28:42. > :28:46.semis, a good day, but a smart move. I do not know whether she will have

:28:47. > :28:50.scans. Probably worth checking because you do not know if you have

:28:51. > :28:55.a stress fracture. I would imagine bruising, which will take days to

:28:56. > :29:01.come out. Is the key thing to do nothing tomorrow and hit on Sunday?

:29:02. > :29:06.I think the physios, when you are a top player you have an advantage

:29:07. > :29:10.because you are not queueing up for the WTA therapists, who do an

:29:11. > :29:17.amazing job, but there are only so many. She can have treatment all

:29:18. > :29:21.day. She will have everything she needs, everything they have now. I

:29:22. > :29:25.do not think it will be sit around. They will want to get the body

:29:26. > :29:31.moving and they will do all the right things to get her ready for

:29:32. > :29:37.Monday. The thing is she is playing at the top of her game and yesterday

:29:38. > :29:41.with the win over Ostapenko and the win over Angelique Kerber, that is

:29:42. > :29:46.the best day she has had in her tennis career in terms of results.

:29:47. > :29:50.Get the body sorted and she is ready to go.

:29:51. > :29:55.What about Heather? I feel frustrated because it is all there

:29:56. > :29:59.with Heather. She was up against one of the best match players in the

:30:00. > :30:06.game but she was a break up in the final set and turn things around

:30:07. > :30:11.from the opener, where she was too passive. In the end, the forehand

:30:12. > :30:16.let her down slightly. The plus side is she has lots of confidence, she

:30:17. > :30:19.is playing as well as ever as she can start to feel good about tennis

:30:20. > :30:24.and go into Wimbledon with this behind her.

:30:25. > :30:29.We have spoken many times about her allowing other players to dominate

:30:30. > :30:34.her, but today, there were times when she was energised and positive

:30:35. > :30:39.and aggressive, and that transforms the dynamic of any game she plays

:30:40. > :30:45.in? Well, the first set, she looked 126 in the world, second set, she

:30:46. > :30:49.looked top 20, which is I think is where she should be at the moment.

:30:50. > :31:02.Her coach came on in the first set and had to say, come on come get up

:31:03. > :31:05.the court. Heather. It is very frustrating, because she hits the

:31:06. > :31:10.ball really hard in practice, but she seems to leave it in the locker

:31:11. > :31:27.room because she cannot override the need to be, oh, so careful. Here's

:31:28. > :31:35.the draw for the British players are -- for the British players. There is

:31:36. > :31:38.a huge financial incentive for the players to be in the first-round,

:31:39. > :31:42.but also, gives them an opportunity, especially if they are in reasonable

:31:43. > :31:45.grass court form, to get through a couple of rounds of. The big news

:31:46. > :31:49.today is centring on Andy Murray. Depending on what paper you read

:31:50. > :31:54.this morning, either everything was fine, which Ivan Lendl was saying,

:31:55. > :31:58.or, people were saying, his participation in Wimbledon was

:31:59. > :32:03.endowed. Judy Murray on the radio this morning was hedging her bed is

:32:04. > :32:07.a bit. But we have got some pictures of Andy Murray hitting at Aorangi

:32:08. > :32:12.Park at Wimbledon today. I suppose, it is one of these classic things,

:32:13. > :32:16.Ivan Lendl on the right, you can read into these pictures what you

:32:17. > :32:21.want. There he is hitting a few forehands. But I think we also have

:32:22. > :32:32.some pictures of him creaking a bit. He gets up from his chair here, and

:32:33. > :32:37.he's not looking 100%. I suppose it's one of those situations for

:32:38. > :32:48.Andy, this matters to him so much the last thing he will want to do is

:32:49. > :32:54.to not take part in Wimbledon. He is playing a qualifier in the first

:32:55. > :32:58.round, from Kazakhstan, ranked 134 in the world, a 20-year-old,

:32:59. > :33:04.actually a lucky loser, because he lost in five sets of qualifying. And

:33:05. > :33:08.he will not want to go into a match like that, against somebody who is

:33:09. > :33:11.grass court fit, and not be able to play his best. Because whatever you

:33:12. > :33:18.may say, he will be a good player. And if he gets through that,

:33:19. > :33:24.Fognini, there is a long history of matches between him and Andy. Round

:33:25. > :33:30.four would be tough. And then, Wawrinka, Nadal, Federer, and Jo

:33:31. > :33:34.Konta thought she had it hard! What do you think? One thing I would have

:33:35. > :33:39.to say, he has a genius of a physio in his camp, called Mark bender. And

:33:40. > :33:43.he will be getting the best possible advice about what to do and the

:33:44. > :33:50.treatments will be quite unorthodox, I'm sure. If they can get him fit,

:33:51. > :33:56.they will. There is no way Andy will not want to play. Even if he's 80%,

:33:57. > :34:01.I think he will try and go out of there. I was going to ask you, what

:34:02. > :34:06.is the percentage figure? You can't really put it on. Andy at 80% could

:34:07. > :34:11.still probably be told players on what is his best surface. You've got

:34:12. > :34:16.all of hullabaloo which goes around Andy at Wimbledon as the defending

:34:17. > :34:20.champion. As great as he is, it's a lot for any human being to cope

:34:21. > :34:24.with, what he's going through right now. Something he's not really

:34:25. > :34:27.experienced before. Yes, he's had a few nasty injuries and, but not

:34:28. > :34:34.really so close to a major event. Certainly he's never do dealt with

:34:35. > :34:42.this situation before. Meanwhile, the world number 855 - do you know

:34:43. > :34:47.who it is? He's the lowest ranked qualifier to get through to the main

:34:48. > :34:54.draw of Wimbledon since 1998. Well done, Hill. He had the most

:34:55. > :35:00.fantastic week at Roehampton this week, and he got an interesting

:35:01. > :35:04.reward. Look at that face. His reward is going to be a first-round

:35:05. > :35:08.match against the British number two, Kyle Edmund. He spoke to Selena

:35:09. > :35:17.Hinchcliffe after what must have been the best day of his tennis

:35:18. > :35:20.life. We are with the only British player standing, Alexander ward,

:35:21. > :35:24.congratulations - what does that mean to you? Yeah, it means a hell

:35:25. > :35:29.of a lot. I've been struggling quite a bit this year with my form, even

:35:30. > :35:32.coming into the pre-olivine play-offs, just scoop up some

:35:33. > :35:37.momentum and it is amazing to qualify. Worded that self-belief

:35:38. > :35:43.come from? I don't know, really. Just match by match, started to play

:35:44. > :35:47.better. And the same here, really. I started off pretty poor in the first

:35:48. > :35:51.round and step-by-step, got better and better. Put it into context for

:35:52. > :35:55.us what this means to you, in financial terms, reaching the

:35:56. > :36:01.Wimbledon main draw and how it will help you with all of your expenses

:36:02. > :36:04.and everything? Massively, it can keep you playing, basically. I was

:36:05. > :36:08.out injured for six months last year, and I was struggling with the

:36:09. > :36:16.cash, as I am now. So, the financial gain is huge. You can't quite get

:36:17. > :36:20.over it, can you? No. It's strange, because I had never won goal in

:36:21. > :36:24.qualifying here before, so it's a bit of a dream, to be honest. When

:36:25. > :36:26.you go through those gates on Monday, who will you be looking

:36:27. > :36:34.forward to seeing in the locker room? Hopefully not too many guys,

:36:35. > :36:38.but we will see! I would like to play one of the big names, that

:36:39. > :36:44.would be amazing, on a big court. On centre? Of course, why not. Happy

:36:45. > :36:49.interview, and just a repeat, I think he will like playing Kyle

:36:50. > :36:54.Edmund, I'm not sure if that is on Monday or Tuesday. Anyway, good luck

:36:55. > :36:59.to Alex Waller. Somebody else to say good luck to is Cameron Norrie, who

:37:00. > :37:05.was playing here this week. He lost to Gael Monfils in the second round.

:37:06. > :37:08.He's sort of the new kid on the block in British men's tennis and he

:37:09. > :37:16.has been given a wild card for Wimbledon next week. He came up to

:37:17. > :37:20.tell us all about himself. I was born in South Africa and I moved to

:37:21. > :37:25.New Zealand when I was about three. Grew up in New Zealand, both my

:37:26. > :37:30.parents were squash liars and just played tennis in the driveway with

:37:31. > :37:35.them, with sawn off squash rackets. And then I moved to London when I

:37:36. > :37:40.was 16, by myself, my parents still live in... Specifically for tennis?

:37:41. > :37:45.For tennis, yeah. In New Zealand, there is not much tennis. Both my

:37:46. > :37:49.parents are British, my dad is Scottish, my mum was born in Wales,

:37:50. > :37:58.so I have quite British woods. I moved there for three years and then

:37:59. > :38:05.I went to college, in Texas, finished at uni there, and this is

:38:06. > :38:09.one of my first pro tournaments. It's been good and I'm enjoying it.

:38:10. > :38:14.The big question is, given all of that, who do you want to win in the

:38:15. > :38:22.second Lions Test on Saturday? I'm a big fan of the All Blacks, such

:38:23. > :38:25.beasts of athletes, I've grown up, when I was younger, some of my

:38:26. > :38:31.heroes. It's a tough one! I think the All Blacks. By the next Lions

:38:32. > :38:36.tour, in 12 years' time, you might be leaning towards the Lions. Maybe.

:38:37. > :38:43.How is it, in the big time of tennis? It's been real good. I'm

:38:44. > :38:46.pretty grateful and lucky to have these wild card opportunities that

:38:47. > :38:51.these tournaments. I think it's really good for me to play on the

:38:52. > :38:54.big stage on Centre Court. My match today against Monfils was such a

:38:55. > :38:59.great experience, I really enjoyed it and I played well. It was nice to

:39:00. > :39:04.show what I have against such a great player like him. When you walk

:39:05. > :39:07.on court with Gael Monfils, yesterday, is there a bit of you

:39:08. > :39:13.which is thinking, this is me and him on the same court?! Yeah, just

:39:14. > :39:16.before the match I was warming up and I was like, I'm about a play

:39:17. > :39:25.Monfils on Centre Court. I could not really believe it. It has been a

:39:26. > :39:33.quick turnaround, and I just went out there and tried to enjoy the

:39:34. > :39:37.match. Did you enjoy it? It was good, yeah, I worked my way into the

:39:38. > :39:40.match, played a couple of loose points but it is nice to know I am

:39:41. > :39:47.right there with those guys. You have got a wild card for Wimbledon.

:39:48. > :39:51.I know, exciting times for me. This match today was just a great

:39:52. > :39:58.experience for me, and I gained a lot of confidence, I got my first

:39:59. > :40:02.win on the ATP Tour on Monday, my first top 50 win, so I'm feeling a

:40:03. > :40:06.lot more comfortable on the grass. At the back of your mind, when the

:40:07. > :40:10.draw comes out, are you thinking, yeah, I fancy Murray in the first

:40:11. > :40:14.round, or is it, I would like to have some random person that I could

:40:15. > :40:23.beat? I don't really mind. I'm playing at Wimbledon, so I'm happy.

:40:24. > :40:29.I'm just go out and play my game. If it's Andy on Centre Court, I'm

:40:30. > :40:31.happy. Having played Gael Monfils here, he gets another Frenchmen

:40:32. > :40:35.Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, in the first round. That is going to be on a

:40:36. > :40:50.decent show court, I would think. James Ward against Marcus Baghdatis.

:40:51. > :41:00.And Aljaz Bedene, he's playing Ivo Karlovic. Good luck on the returns!

:41:01. > :41:04.Final tomorrow to go where is the balance of power, Pliskova not

:41:05. > :41:10.having had a match today, is that good for her? I don't think it

:41:11. > :41:13.really matters. For me, it is Pliskova's to go out and take it if

:41:14. > :41:18.she plays near the top of her game. Caroline is a wonderful player but

:41:19. > :41:23.you would always go with the attack on grass, and Pliskova for me is the

:41:24. > :41:26.out-and-out server and baseline attacker. I was talking to John

:41:27. > :41:33.McGinn were last night, and he thinks that Pliskova could win

:41:34. > :41:36.Wimbledon because of her ability to have short shots, big serves and

:41:37. > :41:41.take the game away from her opponent? No, there is a great

:41:42. > :41:44.player there. There's a couple of things which worry me. She was the

:41:45. > :41:49.favourite for the Australian Open and some of the big tournaments in

:41:50. > :41:54.America, and she came up short. Her coach said, I thought it was a great

:41:55. > :41:59.line - somewhere inside her, a champion is sleeping, it's my job to

:42:00. > :42:02.wake it up. If the coach can do that, then she's going to win a

:42:03. > :42:08.Grand Slam. The final tomorrow is on BBC One. It's quite early, actually,

:42:09. > :42:11.so if you have been following the Lions earlier on, you can have a

:42:12. > :42:18.tea-break and then you can come back to us on BBC One at 12.15. You might

:42:19. > :42:24.be able to spot that the covers are on, and it's almost like they knew

:42:25. > :42:28.that semifinal had to be done and dusted, and then, only then, would

:42:29. > :42:36.they allow the rain to come down. And it is bucketing down at the

:42:37. > :42:43.moment. Did you bring your brolly? No. You're going to have to be nice

:42:44. > :42:51.to me, then! I am always nice to you! With the amount of tennis, all

:42:52. > :42:56.over the park, not just on Centre Court, everyone needs to see these

:42:57. > :42:59.great players. I played this tournament many years ago when it

:43:00. > :43:03.was a showcase event, everybody came here before Wimbledon. Report

:43:04. > :43:07.describes as Wimbledon by the sea - that's what it should be like. I'm

:43:08. > :43:10.passionate about this event, and I think we are getting back there, and

:43:11. > :43:15.it's going to grow over the next few years, with all the changes.

:43:16. > :43:18.Absolutely, they're spending ?44 million on all of the changes here,

:43:19. > :43:21.so book your tickets for the next few years now! That's it for the

:43:22. > :43:26.moment, because obviously, no more tennis for us to show because of the

:43:27. > :43:28.injury to Jo Konta. The sun will be out tomorrow, I guarantee! See you

:43:29. > :43:40.Saturday lunchtime - bye-bye! COMMENTATOR: Caroline Wozniacki

:43:41. > :43:46.moves to within a set of being back in the Eastbourne final. We have

:43:47. > :43:57.ourselves a decider in this semifinal. It is Caroline Wozniacki

:43:58. > :43:58.who will go through to tomorrow's final.
