:00:55. > :01:00.COMMENTATOR: How could he do that? In is a Djokovic in a thriller! Or

:01:00. > :01:06.good afternoon. Yesterday we witnessed two hours and 34 minutes

:01:06. > :01:11.of glorious tennis as Murray and Djokovic battles it out. Another

:01:11. > :01:15.treat in store today but this match is full of contrast. The finesse

:01:15. > :01:19.and dazzling skill of Roger Federer, his seemingly effortless style has

:01:19. > :01:25.seen him become the master of the majors and for many the greatest

:01:25. > :01:28.player of all time. Today he takes on have the courage and defence of

:01:29. > :01:32.a player nicknamed the Iron Man, David Ferrer, in the form of his

:01:32. > :01:38.life following back-to-back tournament victories. But the bad

:01:38. > :01:43.news for David, that it is 13-0 in the head to head. But he is a

:01:43. > :01:47.different player this year. He has had an unbelievable year. He has

:01:47. > :01:52.won seven titles and it has come on the back of the Masters 1000 win in

:01:52. > :01:57.Paris, which was his first. On the one hand he comes in full of

:01:57. > :02:03.confidence because kick of that but you wonder whether he will be a

:02:03. > :02:08.little fatigued. Federer has just got his perfect record, but can he

:02:08. > :02:18.break his leg? Dollars and, lovely to welcome you to our team. I know

:02:18. > :02:18.

:02:18. > :02:22.you have seen Ferrer play a lot this year. He is 30, Federer is 31.

:02:22. > :02:26.He is a rare player who is still improving as a thirtysomething.

:02:26. > :02:31.They are not too many players you can say about that. He has won more

:02:31. > :02:36.matches this year than anybody else, and more titles. Seven. What about

:02:36. > :02:46.the confidence these wings are giving him, rather than fatty? This

:02:46. > :02:47.

:02:47. > :02:56.will be his twelfth match. -- what about the confidence rather than

:02:56. > :03:06.fat cheek these winners are giving him? It is a worrying if thing

:03:06. > :03:11.

:03:11. > :03:16.his coach. Ferrer knows he has got to go out there and work hard for

:03:16. > :03:25.every point. He has to hope Federer has a bit of an off day. He has to

:03:25. > :03:30.He has to try to be aggressive, attack Federer's backhand. He has

:03:30. > :03:35.to have the belief he can beat him. If he goes on court saying, he is

:03:35. > :03:39.just too good for me, but he's not that type of player. He has a

:03:39. > :03:43.fantastic attitude. I think Federer will come through but Ferrer has to

:03:43. > :03:48.have the belief. Ferrer says he has to be more

:03:49. > :03:52.aggressive against Federer. But he loves to defend. Yes, I love

:03:52. > :03:57.watching David Ferrer. I love the way he goes about his business.

:03:57. > :04:01.He's lovely of the court as well. He's a professional. He has had a

:04:01. > :04:06.fantastic career. It makes you wonder why he has never made one of

:04:06. > :04:10.these matches with Federer remotely close. For me, he has a problem

:04:10. > :04:15.shifting up the gears a little bit. How has he got those gears?

:04:15. > :04:19.hasn't got that extra level that a bigger hitting player can take his

:04:19. > :04:24.game to. When you look at Federer, when he has the chance to turn it

:04:24. > :04:28.up, he can. And also, last week, you talk about his back-to-back

:04:28. > :04:32.victories, he won in Valencia, but winning in Paris, and this is him

:04:33. > :04:37.at match point, you can see from his reaction what it means to get

:04:37. > :04:42.that one big tournament, the Masters. Absolutely. If you reflect

:04:42. > :04:46.on successes about matching your potential and this guy has been

:04:46. > :04:52.phenomenal. He has been in three other Masters finals and lost them

:04:52. > :05:00.all. He had lost to Lawrie and Nadal and Federer, so to have an

:05:00. > :05:07.opportunity like that, he does deserve it. -- he had lost to

:05:07. > :05:12.Murray. You need a weapon. His first serve is OK but he's not

:05:12. > :05:16.getting many cheap points. Good backhand, a good forehand. But you

:05:16. > :05:20.question whether there is something that can really have an impact

:05:20. > :05:24.against Federer. He has to stick him in a back in a corner and

:05:24. > :05:29.attack that side. If he's going to go to Federer's forehand he has to

:05:29. > :05:35.do it with strength otherwise he will be doing more winning than

:05:35. > :05:40.normal. Let's look back to last night. Djokovic beat Murray in the

:05:40. > :05:47.afternoon. In the evening, Berdych came through against Jo-Wilfried

:05:47. > :05:52.Tsonga, who was last year's finalist. Berdych has got his first

:05:52. > :05:56.win on the board and Tsonga has two losses but this group situation is

:05:56. > :06:06.so confusing because believe it or not, Tsonga still has a

:06:06. > :06:06.

:06:06. > :06:15.tomorrow. Djokovic is in the driving seat with two victories but

:06:15. > :06:25.Murray and Berdych on one each. If Tsonga wins and Djokovic wins... It

:06:25. > :06:25.

:06:25. > :06:28.will be very confusing. Djokovic It is what makes it such a

:06:28. > :06:33.fantastic set up with that round- robin. It is actually possible that

:06:33. > :06:38.Djokovic can lose and not go through. In straight sets to

:06:38. > :06:43.Berdych. Then Murray would qualify as group winners. Bring a

:06:43. > :06:47.calculator. In the first year here they got into terrible mess when

:06:47. > :06:53.Murray was in that situation. He thought he was through, nobody knew

:06:53. > :06:57.what was going on, until Del Potro ended up going through. They have

:06:57. > :07:00.to make sure on Friday and Saturday that they will communicate better

:07:00. > :07:04.with the crowd so everybody understands. That is the group

:07:04. > :07:14.tomorrow but today, as far as Federer is concerned, if he wins in

:07:14. > :07:17.

:07:17. > :07:23.straight sets, he's definitely winners from that opening matches.

:07:23. > :07:31.Del Potro and Tipsarevic have to try to win tonight to keep their

:07:31. > :07:40.hopes alive. There are doubles Last night, with Jonny Marray and

:07:40. > :07:44.Freddie Nielsen, they managed to qualify. Two wins out of two for

:07:44. > :07:49.the Wimbledon doubles champions. We have been commentating on their

:07:49. > :07:54.matches on Radio 5 Live. A couple of matches previously to this, --

:07:54. > :07:59.points previous to this they were 7-8 down and on the verge of going

:07:59. > :08:04.two match points down. Then they played an amazing point. Nielsen

:08:05. > :08:09.played an extraordinary instinctive forehand winner and moments later

:08:09. > :08:13.they are in the semifinals. Jonny Marray does not know what to do!

:08:13. > :08:16.And they have really played together so little. They won the

:08:16. > :08:26.doubles at Wimbledon, they are now through to the semifinals here.

:08:26. > :08:27.

:08:27. > :08:34.Frederik Nielsen says he wants to top 300, you look like you could

:08:34. > :08:40.combine so well. He might change his mind. Bhupathi and Bopanna have

:08:40. > :08:49.won win. This is not one of the great stories of tennis. This is

:08:49. > :08:52.The whole amazing success of this summer started with Jonny Marray.

:08:52. > :08:56.It's darted before Bradley Wiggins, before the Olympics. And if we

:08:56. > :08:59.think back to that night on Centre Court, with the crowd going crazy

:08:59. > :09:05.for British success, that atmosphere was then replicated to

:09:05. > :09:12.the velodrome and the stadium a few weeks later. Thank you, Jonny

:09:12. > :09:15.Marray, it all started with you! This was the win at Wimbledon. They

:09:15. > :09:19.were just put together before the tournament, hardly knew each other,

:09:19. > :09:26.and here they are. They beat all the top players and then on Centre

:09:26. > :09:32.Court at Wimbledon, this happened. Against the defending champions.

:09:32. > :09:38.Absolutely an epic match. They have now beaten every single other top

:09:38. > :09:42.team in the world, either then at Wimbledon or here at the O2. It is

:09:42. > :09:47.a shame in a way for Jonny that if Freddie wants to do his singles, he

:09:47. > :09:50.has got to find another partner. Yes, and the win at Wimbledon has

:09:50. > :09:54.propelled to up the rankings and now he has an opportunity of

:09:54. > :09:58.playing all the big tournaments. Most of the other top players have

:09:58. > :10:04.got their own partners though. So I'm not sure how that would leave

:10:04. > :10:07.Jonny for next year but fingers crossed. There have been they could

:10:07. > :10:10.British doubles performances so maybe he can find another British

:10:10. > :10:15.player. We will have to wait and see. But he has a busy weekend

:10:15. > :10:18.ahead of him at hopefully a can have a repeat victory here. I was

:10:18. > :10:22.reading some quotes from them. Frederik Nielsen says he will not

:10:22. > :10:29.even see because he just enjoys being in this tournament and all

:10:29. > :10:32.the luxury that is part of it. He says he has never stayed in a hotel

:10:32. > :10:36.like this before. They are through to the semifinals but we are

:10:36. > :10:46.looking forward to the grip match and these two are about to step on

:10:46. > :10:50.

:10:50. > :10:54.to court. David Farrar -- Ferrer has a massive crime against David

:10:54. > :10:58.Federer, who lost his number-one world ranking in Paris this week.

:10:58. > :11:04.He pulled out of Paris to make sure he was fit and strong for this

:11:04. > :11:08.event and boy did he approve it. It was a master does he put in in his

:11:08. > :11:18.opening match, drawing Janko Tipsarevic and that has set the

:11:18. > :11:19.

:11:19. > :11:24.tone, as he has become the most successful man in this tournament.

:11:24. > :11:32.An awesome challenge for this man, 30-year-old David Ferrer of Spain.

:11:32. > :11:42.He's just about to be announced to the crowd. A ladies and gentlemen,

:11:42. > :12:19.

:12:19. > :12:29.returning for the fourth time, from Ladies and gentlemen, 17 career

:12:29. > :12:59.

:12:59. > :13:06.Grand Slam finals, the world number Sir Roger is back on the court he

:13:06. > :13:12.has grown to love. He is bidding to become only the third player in

:13:12. > :13:17.history to win it three times in a row here. Ivan Lendl has done it.

:13:17. > :13:23.So Roger Federer is back. He was on court yesterday receiving two

:13:23. > :13:28.awards, sportsmanship Award, and the fans' favourite award, and you

:13:28. > :13:36.could tell the bus and cheering started around this Arena before

:13:36. > :13:42.they even got to his name. I think he has won that one award for about

:13:42. > :13:45.eight years in a row, and probably the fan favourite for the same. It

:13:45. > :13:50.was fantastic news yesterday that we heard there has been an

:13:50. > :13:54.extension to this event for another two years, so we have it through to

:13:54. > :13:58.2015, which is excellent. It is a great decision. It has been such a

:13:58. > :14:08.success. We have had record crowds every year and it is great to have

:14:08. > :14:16.

:14:16. > :14:26.the best tennis in London in Any questions? Jennifer, can you

:14:26. > :14:29.

:14:29. > :14:39.please ask David for heads or tails? Heads. Tails, Roger. OK.

:14:39. > :14:42.

:14:42. > :14:50.Have your photo, Jennifer! Don't run away. You will want that for

:14:50. > :14:54.the sideboard late! A quick cuddle with Roger! But he was hurting. He

:14:54. > :14:59.did not want to lose that world No. 1 ranking. He came here and he

:14:59. > :15:04.proved on the Tuesday that he was back. I love watching Federer at

:15:04. > :15:08.this time of year. He always seems to finish the year strongly. I

:15:08. > :15:14.think it is almost psychological. They are proving to the young ones

:15:14. > :15:23.that, hey, at the age of 31, and we are all hurting, we have all had

:15:23. > :15:27.the same season, will have a some pains and needles, he is not the

:15:27. > :15:37.world No. 1 but he will regain it again. -- we all have aches and

:15:37. > :15:38.

:15:38. > :15:42.pains. But he nurse -- does love a challenge, Tim? I think a lot of

:15:42. > :15:47.people question, all wonder how he is able to maintain his motivation,

:15:47. > :15:51.because he is 31 now, he has more money than he will ever spend. He

:15:51. > :15:53.has won more things than he has ever dreamt of, but he loves the

:15:53. > :15:58.challenge and he leads beating the up and coming players. It was about

:15:58. > :16:03.this time last year that he had won in Basel and in Paris and then he

:16:03. > :16:13.won the world tour find up. Suddenly the world No. 1 ranking

:16:13. > :16:15.

:16:15. > :16:25.was back on his radar. He was able to take another record, and he

:16:25. > :16:26.

:16:26. > :16:31.obviously won another Grand Slam at took the whole of the Asian season

:16:31. > :16:38.off. And then he entered Rotterdam when he hadn't played for quite a

:16:38. > :16:42.while, in February. A but we talk about players and a poor Rafael

:16:42. > :16:48.Nadal is suffering with such a bad injury and we wish him well and

:16:48. > :16:53.hope he will be back soon, but Roger, even the back injury he had

:16:53. > :16:57.at Wimbledon, he keeps it all under the radar. I think that is for a

:16:57. > :17:01.number of reasons. First, his athletic ability. The way that he

:17:01. > :17:05.moves around the court, it puts a little strain on his body. You look

:17:05. > :17:10.at his technique and the way he plays tennis, it is just so sound.

:17:10. > :17:14.That puts less strain on your body. But also the way that he trains

:17:14. > :17:18.with his physical trainer, his schedule. He is meticulous about

:17:18. > :17:22.how he is going to plan for big events. I was talking to his

:17:22. > :17:25.manager and he said, really, he plans about two years in advance,

:17:25. > :17:29.so he's always looking ahead to make sure he has a schedule in

:17:29. > :17:34.place that will work for him, work for his preparation into the

:17:34. > :17:40.tournament. And everyone is always looking to write him off. He's 31,

:17:40. > :17:45.he has won every think, but he says, I want to carry on and he's talking

:17:45. > :17:50.about carrying on right through to Rio de Janeiro in 2016. That will

:17:50. > :17:55.be a hope as well as an expectation that he loves playing tennis.

:17:55. > :17:59.Certainly, those that have retired, you realise it is a short career

:17:59. > :18:03.opportunity. You want to maximise it. There is plenty of time to be

:18:03. > :18:08.retired afterwards and I really think he can keep going for two, 3,

:18:08. > :18:13.four more years. Someone like Andre Agassi, he almost had a two year

:18:13. > :18:18.sabbatical in his career that he kept going until he was 35. Federer

:18:18. > :18:22.is a much more efficient athlete than Agassi. His game takes a lot

:18:22. > :18:26.less out of him. So why can't he keep going for another four or five

:18:26. > :18:30.years? And this guy has been getting better over the past few

:18:30. > :18:35.years. He really dedicated himself to tennis, thought possibly about

:18:35. > :18:39.quitting at one point and then said, no, I want to be the best I can be.

:18:39. > :18:44.That is true. Now with the different training techniques, it

:18:44. > :18:48.is such a science now at the way that these players approach their

:18:48. > :18:52.work and their diet and I think that perhaps can give the players

:18:53. > :18:56.that extra longevity. So what is this guy going to do today? Because,

:18:56. > :19:00.as you say, he has not really got the weapons. He relies on just

:19:00. > :19:07.keeping the ball in play and wearing people than and you cannot

:19:07. > :19:11.really where federate down. terms of a consistent performer, he

:19:12. > :19:15.is the most consistent in terms of his levels because he delivers day-

:19:15. > :19:20.in day-out. I just question whether he can get that level high enough

:19:20. > :19:29.to beat Federer, which he has never done, but he will give it his best

:19:29. > :19:34.shot. And as far as kits watching, work ethic, he could be No. 1.

:19:34. > :19:40.is phenomenal. His work ethic and application for each and every

:19:40. > :19:44.point. He is pretty much in the Rafa Nadal mould. He is a great

:19:44. > :19:49.example, not only with that attitude but the way that he runs

:19:49. > :19:54.down balls. He never gives up until the ball has bounced twice. He is

:19:54. > :19:57.maximising his game. He needs a lot of things to happen. He perhaps

:19:57. > :20:01.needs Federer to be a little complacent, which I would be very

:20:01. > :20:06.surprised, knowing Roger as I did, but he needs Roger to not play his

:20:06. > :20:16.best and he needs to take every opportunity he has got. As I said

:20:16. > :20:21.

:20:21. > :20:28.earlier, he needs to try to believe he can win this match. It's true

:20:28. > :20:37.that if Federer -- if Ferrer can win this match, he can overtake

:20:37. > :20:43.Rafael Nadal in the world rankings. You think of Rafa Nadal being the

:20:43. > :20:47.dominant force for so long, and Federer has always been the two or

:20:47. > :20:54.three or four. This would be a chance for him to be number one.

:20:54. > :21:01.There is your fault coach, Tim. I guess he is still enjoying his job.

:21:01. > :21:11.Yes. It cannot be that difficult, tweaking a Ferrari! Tim, I will let

:21:11. > :21:19.

:21:19. > :21:26.you go to the commentary box. the two winners from match-day won

:21:26. > :21:36.to play. A final round of good matches. A packed house here inside

:21:36. > :21:36.

:21:36. > :22:47.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:22:47. > :22:53.the O2. The seats will be filled He has obviously spent a lot of

:22:53. > :22:59.time looking at the head-to-head record between Federer and Ferrer.

:22:59. > :23:09.It is important Federer -- Ferrer gets off to a good start. Federer

:23:09. > :23:13.

:23:13. > :23:23.has so much confidence that if he A brisk start from Ferrer. Three

:23:23. > :23:23.

:23:23. > :24:50.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:24:50. > :25:00.Roger Federer's coaching team. His wife at the end. He has gone

:25:00. > :25:30.

:25:30. > :25:34.Talking how important Ferrer's mental approach is going to be, 0-

:25:34. > :25:44.40 in the first service game. He will walk to his chair thinking,

:25:44. > :26:19.

:26:19. > :26:28.A chance for Ferrer on that third break point. He did not do a huge

:26:28. > :26:32.amount wrong with the approach. great approach into the corner.

:26:32. > :26:42.Federer on the stretch, on the flick, on the half volley. He was

:26:42. > :26:42.

:26:42. > :27:55.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:27:55. > :28:00.Ferrer's dog shot from the back of And of course, Tim, the issue he

:28:00. > :28:03.then faces is he has to get it pretty much into the corner because

:28:03. > :28:09.Federer is so adept with his excellent footwork at running

:28:09. > :28:16.around the back. Also, Federer is so confident at hitting down the

:28:16. > :28:26.back line. Federer will be looking to drive that backhand down the

:28:26. > :28:31.

:28:31. > :28:35.And the predicament for Ferrer is that to open up Federer's backhand,

:28:35. > :28:43.he has to go to the forehand, but then he has to go there with

:28:43. > :28:53.strength if he's going to do that. This man is leading the Spanish

:28:53. > :28:55.

:28:55. > :29:02.Davis Cup team into the final. They And here is their number one player

:29:02. > :29:08.for that final. No no doubt, of course. -- no Rafael Nadal, of

:29:08. > :29:12.course. We hope to see him at the end of the year at the Abu Dhabi

:29:12. > :29:22.exhibition, and then into the Spanish Open, but that is a big

:29:22. > :29:22.

:29:22. > :30:09.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:30:09. > :30:17.miss for Spain, not having Rafael Well, it was looking good for three

:30:17. > :30:22.points. That forehand on break point, I do not think he would miss

:30:22. > :30:26.that against any other player. Given the circumstances, he has

:30:26. > :30:36.just had three break-point opportunities, missed them all,

:30:36. > :30:36.

:30:36. > :32:58.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:32:58. > :33:03.Federer quickly erasing memories of He did not try to do much with the

:32:41. > :32:51.with Hawk-Eye, but when he thinks a mistake has been made, he will use

:32:51. > :33:16.

:33:17. > :33:21.Do you think he has changed the way he has played his backhand over the

:33:21. > :33:26.years? I think most of his shots he has played with a little bit more

:33:26. > :33:30.spin. When the courts were quicker and the ball was coming on Tue,

:33:30. > :33:34.probably flatten the ball a little bit, but he does generate

:33:34. > :33:44.incredible racket head speed, did himself that spin and margin for

:33:44. > :34:07.

:34:07. > :34:11.Oh, that is in from Ferrer! What a Federer did very well to pick this

:34:11. > :34:21.volley up, but Ferrer was even better on the stretch. Was that

:34:21. > :34:47.

:34:47. > :34:52.Very clever, but I have not commentated on many sliced 4 tennis

:34:52. > :34:56.approaches from Federer. I think he was looking to fake the drop shot

:34:56. > :35:06.and pushed it deep. He still managed to control the forehand

:35:06. > :35:34.

:35:34. > :35:44.I guess an example of the sort of point that, if Ferrer is going to

:35:44. > :35:58.

:35:58. > :36:04.add a chance in this match, he He does, really, because looking at

:36:04. > :36:14.the statistics, Federer is still serving at 44% first serves, and

:36:14. > :36:26.

:36:26. > :36:30.Federer is never going to get this This is the thing about him, Tim,

:36:30. > :36:36.even when he is having a relative off day, he is playing shots that

:36:36. > :36:42.so few other people can make. Certainly, and he's still up a set

:36:42. > :36:46.and 3-2. Against the world number 5. That is the sign of the great

:36:46. > :36:49.champions, this is not a good day for Roger Federer, but he is still

:36:49. > :36:59.finding a way to keep his nose in front and keep the pressure on

:36:59. > :37:03.

:37:03. > :37:08.Sometimes you can read too much into the statistics. I think

:37:08. > :37:13.Murray's match against Djokovic was a good example. In the first set,

:37:13. > :37:17.his first serve percentage was not particularly good, but he won it.

:37:17. > :37:21.In the second set, it went up considerably but he lasted. They

:37:21. > :37:26.are going to be the critical moments, who plays well on those,

:37:26. > :37:33.and when you look at the break point statistics, Ferrer has had 10

:37:33. > :37:36.break-points and won 1, Federer has had four and won two. It has been

:37:36. > :37:41.those opportunities that Federer has been able to capitalise.

:37:41. > :37:44.had a really good record against this man for a while, and then you

:37:44. > :37:51.carried on playing! Yeah, I probably should have quit when I

:37:51. > :37:54.was ahead. He was 6-1 up at one point. Correct me if I am wrong,

:37:54. > :37:59.but you played just a single match with David Ferrer and actually beat

:37:59. > :38:09.him in Madrid, which must have felt good. Yeah, I'm not sure he was

:38:09. > :38:09.

:38:09. > :39:13.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:39:13. > :39:18.Not too sure if, given that point again, he would choose to go down

:39:18. > :39:22.the line. I think he probably went down the line because he went

:39:22. > :39:32.cross-court last time he came in running for a drop shot. But

:39:32. > :39:32.

:39:32. > :41:05.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:41:05. > :41:14.He is sticking with it. A little bit of variety as well, drop shot

:41:14. > :41:19.helping him to win at game. -- that game. Juan Martin del Potro, in his

:41:19. > :41:23.opening match, that was an impressive win in three sets. Great

:41:23. > :41:32.to see the O2 Arena absolutely packed for that one, going crazy

:41:32. > :41:42.A lot of good tennis that night. It just shows how good it is to have

:41:42. > :41:56.

:41:56. > :42:06.When you have got the top eight players in the world, or the top

:42:06. > :42:06.

:42:06. > :43:46.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:43:46. > :43:50.nine with Rafael Nadal not here, One of the most straightforward

:43:50. > :43:59.service games that Federer has had today. It has been a little bit of

:43:59. > :44:03.a struggle. Federer, world number two right now, just slipping back,

:44:03. > :44:07.not play in Paris this year at the end of the season, allowing

:44:07. > :44:12.Djokovic to finish the year as world number 1 for the second year

:44:12. > :44:18.in a row. What an achievement that is, considering the opposition.

:44:18. > :44:22.Likewise Andy Murray to come in at number three. The top eight players

:44:22. > :44:27.in the world qualifying, as Tim mentioned a moment ago. Rafael

:44:27. > :44:37.Nadal not here, so that is why Tipsarevic is in, but beneath him a

:44:37. > :44:40.

:44:40. > :44:48.clutch of players who were in calculators out. Richard Gasquet is

:44:48. > :44:57.here as the first alternative. John Isner of the United States.

:44:57. > :45:00.Actually, Tim, look, the USA at number 14 with John is now. The

:45:00. > :45:04.retirement of Andy Roddick this year and the injury of Mardy Fish,

:45:04. > :45:14.this is the first year since rankings began that that is not an

:45:14. > :45:21.And in all last time, there was probably not just one, there was

:45:21. > :45:31.probably three or four with the likes of Andre Agassi, Todd Martin,

:45:31. > :45:49.

:45:49. > :45:52.Pete Sampras, we have been spoiled Well, this is the game where

:45:52. > :45:58.Federer -- Ferrer really has to be cared for. We saw what happened at

:45:58. > :46:08.the end of the first set, Federer breaking right at the end of it.

:46:08. > :46:09.

:46:09. > :46:52.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:46:52. > :46:57.This is the equivalent game right Mr Ferrer is challenging the call.

:46:57. > :47:03.What a shame, in a way, that rarely ends like that, it was breathtaking

:47:03. > :47:13.tennis. Brilliant hitting from both players, corner to corner. But was

:47:13. > :47:13.

:47:13. > :48:36.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:48:36. > :48:40.Mr Ferrer as one challenge Please do not disturb the players

:48:40. > :48:44.between first and second serves, thank you. You could see Federer

:48:44. > :48:54.very anxious to get his forehand into play there. He did not quite

:48:54. > :49:11.

:49:11. > :49:17.A couple of shanks off the frame in the game for Federer as he tries to

:49:17. > :49:21.hit over the top more. I suppose that is inevitable. It is the angle

:49:21. > :49:31.of the racket head. Nevertheless, he is a perfectionist, Tim, he

:49:31. > :49:44.

:49:44. > :49:48.You can see what that game meant to Down 3-4, 0-30, he was in a spot of

:49:48. > :49:58.bother, but four straight point getting out of trouble and may be a

:49:58. > :50:01.

:50:01. > :50:05.chance to put some pressure on the He is not sure about that one

:50:05. > :50:15.either. I am not sure if he is in the mood for trusting the umpire

:50:15. > :50:45.

:50:45. > :50:49.This is the problem, isn't it, Tim? When you play the very best players

:50:49. > :50:59.in the world, you just have to go for the lines. He is not missing by

:50:59. > :51:09.Just a couple of millimetres away on a couple of points, and it is a

:51:09. > :51:11.

:51:11. > :51:18.You saw how hard Ferrer had to work for his serve at 3-4, and he gets

:51:18. > :51:26.back on level terms at 4-4, and Federer hits seven shots and he has

:51:26. > :51:32.won his serve. Four first serves, a couple of forehands, pressure right

:51:32. > :51:37.back on Ferrer. How is the Federer motivation these days? No sign of

:51:37. > :51:40.an end of his career anytime soon. No, definitely not, and it is an

:51:40. > :51:46.indication of how much he loves what he does. I have spoken to him

:51:46. > :51:50.about planning his schedule moving forward, and he and his manager

:51:50. > :51:55.amazingly always looking about two years in advance. There has been

:51:55. > :52:00.talk of the Olympics in Rio, Halle is wanting to play there as well,

:52:00. > :52:05.and why not? There is plenty of time to be retired, he is only 31.

:52:05. > :52:11.Andre Agassi was playing until he was 35, and Federer is a much

:52:11. > :52:14.better athletes than Agassi, as good as he was. There is much less

:52:14. > :52:18.demand on Federer's body, lesser ailments to deal with, and

:52:18. > :52:26.hopefully he can keep going as long as possible, because we should

:52:26. > :52:30.enjoy him while we have got him. South America very much on

:52:30. > :52:34.Federer's radar, not just the Olympics, but he is going on an

:52:34. > :52:39.end-of-season tour, I think that is one for the brand! Amazingly, he

:52:39. > :52:46.has never been to South America, but I think is going to be playing

:52:46. > :52:56.at six different venues, or six exhibitions, six nights. I can

:52:56. > :53:02.

:53:02. > :53:12.think of a few million reasons why I do not think it is to collect Air

:53:12. > :53:21.

:53:21. > :53:26.I asked him about it earlier in the year, I said, why are you doing

:53:26. > :53:36.this? Roger, we love you in Venezuela, we love you in Colombia,

:53:36. > :54:02.

:54:02. > :54:07.so I thought we would go! They will The coach there of Ferrer in the

:54:07. > :54:17.cap and the rest of his team. Their man is serving to stay in the match

:54:17. > :54:17.

:54:17. > :55:17.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:55:17. > :55:27.Ever go on an end-of-season tour, That is lovely from Ferrer, isn't

:55:27. > :55:39.

:55:39. > :55:49.He certainly has not distracted or frustrated. -- has not got. He has

:55:49. > :56:05.

:56:05. > :56:08.kept plugging away, played some When you can generate that much

:56:08. > :56:13.racket head speed, you can play that shot and there is a lot of

:56:13. > :56:23.margin for error, clearing the net by a good 18 inches, probably one

:56:23. > :56:23.

:56:23. > :57:21.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:57:21. > :57:29.Oh, Ferrer having to a resort to a Ferrer was down by the line judge

:57:29. > :57:32.in front of us here! Not enough to recover the ball, but you have to

:57:32. > :57:42.admire his enthusiasm at the end of their long, hard season. He just

:57:42. > :57:52.

:57:52. > :57:58.will not give up until that ball He is such a great example, isn't

:57:58. > :58:02.he, to one of the tennis players, I would say? Having a professional

:58:02. > :58:07.attitude and then work on your backhand! It is the one thing you

:58:07. > :58:10.can control, you know, you can work and your backhand and your shots,

:58:10. > :58:15.sometimes they will be good, sometimes they will be bad, but you

:58:15. > :58:20.can control your work ethic and desire. And Ferrer is as good an

:58:20. > :58:24.example as anyone. We were talking about the off-season, and celebrity

:58:25. > :58:28.tours and that sort of thing. If anyone needs a lie-down, it is

:58:28. > :58:32.Ferrer. He has played more matches than anyone else, and yet he has

:58:32. > :58:38.still got the Davis Cup final to come, and with the absence of

:58:38. > :58:42.Rafael Nadal, there is more responsibility on him to lead that

:58:42. > :58:45.team against the Czechs. Very much so, and this time the final is

:58:45. > :58:51.going to be in the Czech Republic, and I think it is safe to say it

:58:51. > :58:54.will not be a clay court they are playing on! Indoor hard, so at

:58:54. > :58:59.least he is getting plenty of practice winning these indoor hard

:58:59. > :59:09.titles. Nicolas Almagro is their second singles player. Granollers

:59:09. > :59:17.

:59:17. > :59:24.A great setting for tennis, it really has been a huge success,

:59:24. > :59:29.these World Tour Finals inside the O2. Talk of it may be heading to

:59:29. > :59:33.other cities around the world long term, but why? It works so well

:59:33. > :59:37.here, the top 10 dominated by Europe pain players at the moment,

:59:37. > :59:46.that is the other thing, it is so convenient for all but one of these

:59:46. > :59:51.guys. Dash European players. It is, and it is great that this has moved

:59:51. > :59:57.around the world, we have had great times in Frankfurt, Sydney, not so

:59:57. > :00:07.many in Houston! But it really is working well here, record

:00:07. > :00:07.

:00:07. > :00:51.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:00:51. > :00:57.Trouble now for Ferrer at 0-30. double fault and a bad unforced

:00:58. > :01:07.error there from the forehand of David Ferrer. It puts Federer just

:01:08. > :01:08.

:01:08. > :02:21.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:02:21. > :02:31.He doesn't get many cheap points with his first serve that he will

:02:31. > :03:06.

:03:06. > :03:16.-- but he will be delighted with Excellent recovery from Ferrer!

:03:16. > :03:26.

:03:26. > :03:31.It really is great resistance. Ferrer played two very poor points

:03:31. > :03:41.in that service game but was able to respond with the next four. He

:03:41. > :03:41.

:03:41. > :04:23.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:04:23. > :04:31.keeps himself alive and gets it He has miscued a couple of those

:04:31. > :04:36.backhands down the line today. If you are going to hit that backhand

:04:36. > :04:46.down the line, you have got to go for it to the Federer forehand, but

:04:46. > :05:09.

:05:09. > :05:19.really getting the right position Now that really is good. Caught by

:05:19. > :05:19.

:05:19. > :06:00.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:06:01. > :06:08.surprise, Federer, in the middle of What a second serve! Great second

:06:08. > :06:12.serve, and the first point of this tie-break Federer had a similar

:06:12. > :06:22.situation and ended up losing the point. He was keen for the same

:06:22. > :06:22.

:06:22. > :07:04.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:07:04. > :07:13.He has really made so few soft, unforced errors, Ferrer, and at

:07:13. > :07:23.this critical points, there was the backhand there at 2-3, and another

:07:23. > :07:27.

:07:27. > :07:37.similar shot that could prove Doesn't that shot illustrate what a

:07:37. > :07:37.

:07:37. > :08:39.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:08:39. > :08:49.It was almost like a left-handed UMPIRE: 5-3, Federer. One serve to

:08:49. > :08:59.

:08:59. > :09:04.come for Federer in this sequence We talked about how poorly Roger

:09:04. > :09:10.Federer had served this whole match, and then come the tie-break, four

:09:10. > :09:20.consecutive first serves, two aces, one and returnable. We have seen

:09:20. > :09:53.

:09:53. > :10:03.That was a gutsy forehand from Ferrer, match point down. He never

:10:03. > :10:03.

:10:03. > :10:47.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 70 seconds

:10:47. > :10:52.Huge mutual respect between the two, as always, but for the 14th time,

:10:52. > :10:59.Roger Federer it's David Ferrer. He made it tight today that it was a

:10:59. > :11:06.familiar feeling for him. And hour and 48 minutes of toil. And he

:11:06. > :11:14.comes out on the losing side. Still has to believe that he can qualify

:11:14. > :11:22.for the knockout phase. He did back in 2007. He will get a fine

:11:22. > :11:32.reception, I am sure. Remember, he ran Andy Murray so close in at

:11:32. > :11:34.

:11:34. > :11:43.Wimbledon quarterfinal. Nice pen, Roger! So Federer, in winning in

:11:43. > :11:47.straight sets, qualifies for the semifinals. The first player that

:11:47. > :11:51.these will tour finals to make it into the last four. It is a

:11:51. > :11:56.familiar place for him. He has won this tournament for the last two

:11:56. > :12:06.years. He's going for a sixth in total. Always finishes the year

:12:06. > :12:14.

:12:14. > :12:24.wants to end with a title on Monday. He first won in 2003, in Houston,

:12:24. > :12:29.

:12:29. > :12:36.Sir Roger Federer winning against David Ferrer. Here he is.

:12:36. > :12:41.Here we go again. They always know my first question is going to beat

:12:41. > :12:46.so bad they just get it out the way like that. Congratulations, through

:12:46. > :12:53.to the semifinals once again. The tenths time in this event. I am

:12:53. > :12:57.extremely happy, yes. It was a tough match. I thought David had a

:12:57. > :13:03.great run and so he was so deserving. He puts in so much

:13:04. > :13:08.effort. It was a long match for two sets, so it was that tough. I am

:13:08. > :13:12.extremely happy. I think I have played a great match. You said I

:13:12. > :13:15.qualified. I am thrilled and relieved that that is the case.

:13:15. > :13:20.Does it change how you feel going into your next match, because you

:13:20. > :13:24.have already qualified? No, not really. Back in 2002 the same thing

:13:24. > :13:29.happened. There it was extremely difficult. It was the first time

:13:29. > :13:35.around. And you want to keep a clean sheet going into the

:13:35. > :13:42.semifinals. You do not want to lose your last match of the round-robin.

:13:42. > :13:46.You do not show much compassion for David on the court. You are 14-0

:13:46. > :13:53.against him it now. Can you show some compassion, talk about him a

:13:53. > :13:56.bit? I can! He is so respected by the fellow competitors. He has a

:13:56. > :14:00.great attitude. It is really nice to play against him. It is great

:14:01. > :14:05.fair play and great sportsmanship, so for me, personally, I like

:14:05. > :14:10.playing against him, not because of the 14-0 up because he is a great

:14:10. > :14:15.guy and a great player. Congratulations. We will see you

:14:15. > :14:19.Sunday whatever. So you. BARKER: It was not Federer at his

:14:20. > :14:29.very best today but he got the job done and won in straight sets so he

:14:30. > :14:32.

:14:33. > :14:36.is guaranteed to be through to the qualify for the semifinals. It is

:14:36. > :14:41.Del Potro against Tipsarevic tonight. You'll be able to follow

:14:41. > :14:47.that on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra. Tomorrow are match in the

:14:47. > :14:56.afternoon is Novak Djokovic who has won his two matches so far. It is

:14:56. > :15:00.So Federer has marched his way through. He was not at his best but

:15:00. > :15:03.he just has that ability to raise his game when it matters.

:15:04. > :15:08.certainly does. He's said afterwards, he thought he had

:15:08. > :15:18.played a great match. We might have to get in the BDA to show him some

:15:18. > :15:19.

:15:19. > :15:24.of the things. 39 unforced errors. Yes. It is the sign of a great

:15:24. > :15:30.champion when he is playing the fifth ranked player in the world,

:15:30. > :15:36.he does not play his best and he's still able to come through. The

:15:36. > :15:42.history of them match up, he has that enormous confidence. Ferrer is

:15:42. > :15:46.obviously confident of it. -- conscious of it. It must be so

:15:46. > :15:52.frustrating, Johnson, for Ferrer, because he had so many break points,

:15:52. > :16:01.won so many points but still has nothing to show for it. You feel

:16:01. > :16:06.for him because it -- he gave a great match today but it shows the

:16:06. > :16:14.class of Federer that even on a bad date he can put away the world No.

:16:14. > :16:18.5 in straight sets. How difficult it is -- is it in a group stage? Is

:16:18. > :16:22.it a different mindset? If you let it, it could be a different mindset,

:16:22. > :16:26.and Eddie nothing unique that to happen because if you do you are

:16:26. > :16:30.going out a bit distracted up and without a clear mind set and game-

:16:30. > :16:34.plan the way you want to play it. Federer will want to keep

:16:34. > :16:41.dominating. He has the best record in these championships. He just

:16:41. > :16:45.wants to go in with a clean sheet and if that could be 3-0 from his

:16:45. > :16:49.round-robin then that is what he will want. Some people might say,

:16:49. > :16:53.if you win the group you are going to play the runner-up in the other

:16:53. > :16:58.group, so if he came second you might play a slightly weaker player

:16:58. > :17:03.who has come through... I do not think he will look at it like that.

:17:03. > :17:08.He wants to go out on the court and win, simple as that. And he has a

:17:08. > :17:12.match now way he can just relax. He has since some days where he can

:17:12. > :17:18.just chill out before he gets into the semifinals. If do not forget it

:17:18. > :17:22.is Del Potro he is playing. He beat him in the US Open a few years ago

:17:22. > :17:30.and then beat him a few weeks ago in Basel. That does not go down

:17:30. > :17:36.well. That was the match that lost in the number one, because then he

:17:36. > :17:39.had that in Paris, he knew it had gone. He has got a great record

:17:39. > :17:46.against most people and a gates Del Potro, but Del Potro does give him

:17:46. > :17:51.trouble. -- against Del Potro. Federer will enjoy that challenge

:17:51. > :17:56.and he will look to correct the tables from Basel and he will want

:17:56. > :17:59.to go through confident to the semifinals. It is difficult being a

:17:59. > :18:03.competitor when you are used to playing matches when it is all or

:18:03. > :18:08.nothing. This next match against Del Potro isn't. He has already

:18:08. > :18:11.qualified. He has and you cannot get away from that. The best bit

:18:11. > :18:17.for Federer is that there is not the stress and nervous energy. He

:18:17. > :18:22.has got through. The reality is that at his age, 31, he wants to

:18:22. > :18:26.conserve his energy, so he has a day off tomorrow. It will not be,

:18:26. > :18:29.irrespective of the outcome, the most stressful of matches, because

:18:29. > :18:35.he is through to the semifinals, and I think that will work in his

:18:35. > :18:40.favour. And as you say, so called we go person from the other group,

:18:40. > :18:43.we have no idea who is going to come through from that group. We

:18:43. > :18:49.enjoyed a wonderful match yesterday after being with Djokovic and

:18:49. > :18:55.Murray. We will just enjoy some of the points that these two played.

:18:55. > :18:58.They were slugging it out. It is always such a battle with these two.

:18:58. > :19:08.Yes, there was no easing into the match. They are going from corner

:19:08. > :19:13.It really was Murray at this stage who dominated proceedings. Look how

:19:13. > :19:17.close to the baseline Murray is. We talked about his changes under Ivan

:19:17. > :19:22.Lendl and it is good to see him stepping in like that. That was

:19:22. > :19:27.fantastic play, in the first game of the match. It is so brutal when

:19:27. > :19:30.these two play. They have similar styles. Their problem is that they

:19:30. > :19:38.move so well. Pete is so difficult to put the ball away. It keeps

:19:38. > :19:43.coming back. -- it is so difficult. Djokovic dig such a good drop there

:19:43. > :19:49.of sticking in and not getting frustrated, turning the tables in

:19:49. > :19:52.the second set. This is match point. And we love a bit of Roger Federer,

:19:52. > :19:57.as we have seen this afternoon. He has still got all the skills that

:19:57. > :20:02.is, in the autumn of 2012, is the eminent rivalry in the men's tennis

:20:03. > :20:07.right now. It is their seventh meeting of the year. Djokovic won

:20:07. > :20:11.in Shanghai and at the world will finals. These two, born within a

:20:11. > :20:16.week on each other in May 1987, are going to do battle many, many more

:20:16. > :20:20.times. It will be fantastic to follow. Marray lost that match but

:20:20. > :20:30.now has to concentrate on playing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and after that

:20:30. > :20:31.

:20:31. > :20:41.match, we spoke to Jonathan. -- he How will you prepare for Siambr?

:20:41. > :20:41.

:20:42. > :20:45.Try to get some rest tonight. songth. -- how will you prepare for

:20:45. > :20:51.playing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga? knows what the scenario will be

:20:51. > :21:00.when I go out onto the court. I will try my best. Are you feeling

:21:00. > :21:04.all right? Yes, everyone will be a bit stretched out right now but

:21:04. > :21:10.there are no easy matches here so you need to prepare for some tough

:21:10. > :21:14.battles. They are all tough battles, aren't they? Jonathan, you were at

:21:14. > :21:19.the US Open. Have you seen a change in him since he won the Olympics

:21:19. > :21:22.and then the Grand Slam title? There was an interesting moment at

:21:22. > :21:26.the opening here on Saturday night, when all the players were

:21:26. > :21:31.introduced on the state and Andy was next to Roger Federer and he

:21:31. > :21:35.was asked, what is his secret to your success? And Andy confident

:21:35. > :21:42.the Patrick Roger on the back and said, it was all thanks to this guy,

:21:42. > :21:46.he made me cry at Wimbledon. It was not premeditated or patronising,

:21:46. > :21:50.but he exceeded so much confidence. I do not think a year ago Andy

:21:50. > :21:55.Murray would have done at that as a Grand Slam winner, it was almost

:21:56. > :21:59.like him saying, Gleeson, you have your 17 majors but I am here now.

:21:59. > :22:04.He does seem to have blossomed since then because it must have

:22:04. > :22:08.just been a huge relief for him. Yes, when you reflect on the whole

:22:08. > :22:13.sum I think Andy and Ivan Lendl talking after the Wimbledon final,

:22:13. > :22:20.Ivan Lendl said that handy would never play a match with as much

:22:20. > :22:25.pressure as that. You saw in Andy's tears how much it went to him and

:22:25. > :22:29.how much the public wanted it. But three weeks later to come to the

:22:29. > :22:33.Olympic final, gold medal match against Federer, and to play the

:22:33. > :22:39.most amazing tennis and beat him over five sets with just the loss

:22:39. > :22:43.of seven games, that was a huge moment in his career and he went on

:22:43. > :22:47.that ways of confidence into the US Open to get that Slam under his

:22:47. > :22:52.belt. It will really open the gates to many more. He really is that

:22:52. > :22:56.good. He has been good in the Australian Open. I think he really

:22:56. > :23:00.can win three of the four. I think that match at the Olympics was

:23:00. > :23:04.really important, because the manner in which he demolished Roger

:23:04. > :23:11.Federer, just four weeks after the Wimbledon final, and he said the

:23:11. > :23:15.support he got from the crowd meant so much to him. So many people that

:23:15. > :23:20.week said, this could be the turning point. Ivan Lendl said in

:23:20. > :23:25.advance of the US Open, you have already won a major because you

:23:25. > :23:29.have won the Olympics. He viewed it back highly. It has been a

:23:29. > :23:31.fantastic summer for Andy Murray. A complete turning point for him. But

:23:31. > :23:34.he was worried it was going to change his life. He had a

:23:35. > :23:40.conversation with Ivan Lendl earlier this year and said, this is

:23:40. > :23:45.not going to change me, is it, if I win one? And he said, that is the

:23:45. > :23:48.last thing you want to worry about! It is interesting he was even

:23:49. > :23:52.thinking in those terms. It is difficult because he is in the

:23:52. > :23:59.spotlight now he does not like that side of it. He just wants to play

:23:59. > :24:03.tennis. It is not their popularity can't -- it is not a popularity

:24:03. > :24:08.contest out there and he wants to concentrate on tennis. That is the

:24:08. > :24:13.beauty of having Ivan Lendl in his corner. He lost his first three

:24:13. > :24:16.Grand Slam finals, won his fourth. Andy has been able to draw on his

:24:16. > :24:20.experiences. I think his attitude on the court is getting better.

:24:20. > :24:25.There were moments in the third set against Djokovic where he started

:24:25. > :24:32.to get a little frustrated but on Rosol, dealing with adversity, he

:24:32. > :24:36.is doing better and better. Tomorrow money -- Murray is on

:24:36. > :24:41.court. In the evening it is Novak Djokovic. He was on Court earlier

:24:41. > :24:49.this week, collecting two drive these. He won the number one Player

:24:49. > :24:53.of the Year award. He was presented by the chairman of the ATP. It was

:24:53. > :24:59.a wonderful moment for Novak Djokovic. He lost the number one

:24:59. > :25:04.spot at Wimbledon to Roger Federer, just got it back is Monday, and

:25:04. > :25:09.received this trophy. This is what he had to say about it. Regardless

:25:09. > :25:12.of the result that I have this week, it has been a fantastic year, and

:25:12. > :25:18.ending as number one of the world is a huge achievement for me and my

:25:18. > :25:22.team. I could not be more proud. Particularly finishing back to back

:25:22. > :25:27.at the end of the year for that number one slot, which has not been

:25:27. > :25:33.done for a few years. That is a particularly big achievement.

:25:33. > :25:36.Considering the competitiveness of 2012 and having in mind that we had

:25:36. > :25:42.the four different Grand Slam winners this year, it brings a lot

:25:42. > :25:50.of entertainment, a lot of attention, to our sport, and a lot

:25:50. > :25:55.more interest, I think. Tennis is really the high rise at this moment

:25:55. > :26:05.and we have great players and great quality. The top four all have a

:26:05. > :26:07.

:26:07. > :26:12.van Slam title that he has the tomorrow on BBC Two and BBC HD, as

:26:12. > :26:17.he takes on Tomas Berdych from the Czech Republic. And I say he is

:26:17. > :26:27.number one, Novak Djokovic, you make history by winning Grand Slams,

:26:27. > :26:27.

:26:27. > :26:32.Yes, and at the end of last year, Federer made his intentions known

:26:32. > :26:37.and he managed to be number one during the year but the end of the

:26:37. > :26:41.year number one, it is going to emphasise what you're year has been

:26:41. > :26:46.like. When you reflect on this era, it is so tough. There are so many

:26:46. > :26:48.great players. So for him to finish number one is an unbelievable

:26:48. > :26:53.achievement and I think that will give him the freedom to really

:26:53. > :26:57.finish of this event with a bang. And also to do it after the year he

:26:57. > :27:02.had last year, because everyone was saying, how is he going to follow

:27:02. > :27:06.that? OK, he did not win three Grand Slam titles but he still

:27:06. > :27:09.finishes the year as number one. Great to see the memories there

:27:09. > :27:15.from Melbourne. Everything that has happened this year, so many

:27:15. > :27:24.memories we have all got, but back Australian Open finale. Remember,

:27:24. > :27:29.he beat Murray in five hours, and came back and beat Nadal in the six

:27:29. > :27:35.hours! It was a superhuman effort and I think that has shown how it

:27:35. > :27:38.tennis has moved on. Yes, it was not so long ago that if you played

:27:38. > :27:42.a four now match everyone thought that was a long match, but they

:27:42. > :27:46.pushed the boundaries of their athletic ability and how good they

:27:46. > :27:50.are backed retrieving, staying in these volleys. There have been time

:27:50. > :27:56.where we have seen 55 shot rallies where they are not missing hitting

:27:56. > :27:59.from the corner and the accumulation of that is these

:27:59. > :28:05.incredible matches, and let's hope there are a few more this week, and

:28:05. > :28:11.many more this year. Thank you very much. Tomorrow, Novak Djokovic

:28:11. > :28:14.against Tomas Berdych, at 1:45pm tomorrow. Today, Roger Federer, it
