:00:00. > :00:39.We are in a period unique in the history of the sport. Three players

:00:40. > :00:49.with double figure Grand Slam victories all active at the same

:00:50. > :00:55.time. This evening, the most decorated, Roger Federer, takes on

:00:56. > :01:02.Swiss compatriot, Stan Wawrinka in the second semifinal. Before that,

:01:03. > :01:05.the two giants of the game come face to face, stand toe to toe, go

:01:06. > :01:10.head-to-head for a place in tomorrow's final. The dominant force

:01:11. > :01:15.in men's tennis, the defending champion here in London. I don't

:01:16. > :01:26.think it gets much better than watching Rafael Nadal play. They say

:01:27. > :01:28.live in the now, embrace tennis's golden era, it won't be around

:01:29. > :01:41.forever. It's been a privilege to watch these

:01:42. > :01:47.great champions over the years, Roger, Rafa, Novak, 41 Grand Slam

:01:48. > :01:50.titles between them, but it is not about the numbers, it is about what

:01:51. > :01:58.they have brought to the game. This is a proper match today. It is 23-22

:01:59. > :02:06.in the head-to-head. This is a era-defining rivalry, these two

:02:07. > :02:10.guys. I mean, there's something possibly special goes on when they

:02:11. > :02:14.play against each other. I can't wait to see Rafa throwing it all at

:02:15. > :02:17.Novak today. This is great fun. Djokovic against Nadal, that is our

:02:18. > :02:22.match today. Those three, and we talk about it, it is a golden era,

:02:23. > :02:32.isn't it? It is. When you reflect on those numbers, the Grand Slams, we

:02:33. > :02:37.have had some amazing eras before, Sampras, Agassi, Edberg and Lendl.

:02:38. > :02:43.It does look like Djokovic will be dominating for a few more years to m

:02:44. > :02:47.co-. It is amazing to see how this rivalry has unfolded. This is their

:02:48. > :02:51.46th meeting, the most of any rivalry in the history of the game.

:02:52. > :02:56.For me, Djokovic starts as the favourite. They are lovely matches.

:02:57. > :03:01.They have had so many great matches over the years? You think about the

:03:02. > :03:04.rallies they put together. They take the athleticism to a new level,

:03:05. > :03:09.Federer arrived first and took over for a while. He was joined by Rafael

:03:10. > :03:12.Nadal, you saw the flash light pictures from the 2008 final at

:03:13. > :03:16.Wimbledon, then Djokovic arrived, and this is the Djokovic era, how

:03:17. > :03:22.did he take over from Nadal and Federer? Stanislas Wawrinka and Andy

:03:23. > :03:26.Murray are a point of the argument. These two are the boss. There is a

:03:27. > :03:34.special buzz around the O2 and they will both get a huge cheer.

:03:35. > :03:36.Including 14 Grand Slam and 27 Masters 1000 trophies, from Spain,

:03:37. > :04:10.Rafael Nadal! Ladies and gentlemen, making his

:04:11. > :04:16.ninth successive appearance, winner of 58 titles, including 26 Masters

:04:17. > :04:22.1000 trophies and ten Grand Slams, the defending champion, and the ATP

:04:23. > :04:24.world number one, from Serbia, Novak Djokovic!

:04:25. > :04:59.A great atmosphere there is. This tournament is very special, great

:05:00. > :05:02.crowds, they are big tennis fans, and they are looking forward to

:05:03. > :05:08.this. They will enjoy it, both of them chasing records as well. Rafa

:05:09. > :05:12.is looking for his first end-of-year title. But he's won all four Grand

:05:13. > :05:16.Slams, the Davis Cup, he has an Olympic gold in singles, this is the

:05:17. > :05:20.only Major event he is yet to win? That's right. He's got an incredible

:05:21. > :05:24.CV, but the one big tournament he has not been able to win has been

:05:25. > :05:27.the World Tour Finals, he's talked about how he would like to see the

:05:28. > :05:32.year-end Championships played on clay. He would have won it a dozen

:05:33. > :05:35.times then! Probably, to be fair, he's probably got a point with that

:05:36. > :05:43.argument. When you reflect back to this week and this event, there's

:05:44. > :05:46.almost a little bit of uncertainty with round-robin format. There are

:05:47. > :05:50.scenarios where you can lose a match and still go through, that is the

:05:51. > :05:54.way Djokovic got through losing to Federer in the group. Now, it is

:05:55. > :05:58.back to business of the knockout stages, it is the semifinals and it

:05:59. > :06:02.is all to play for. A bit of a question mark, three sets yesterday

:06:03. > :06:07.for Nadal against Ferrer and how much has he got left in the tank?

:06:08. > :06:10.Because he's had such a difficult year and hasn't had all the match

:06:11. > :06:14.wins that he's had previously, he's lost a bit of confidence, look he

:06:15. > :06:18.was so happy to actually win, to be out there competing. I did question

:06:19. > :06:20.it and I still question it. Three-and-a-half hours of tennis

:06:21. > :06:24.yesterday, two-and-a-half hours of the match and an hour of practice.

:06:25. > :06:28.We will see if it's affected him today.

:06:29. > :06:33.UMPIRE: Good afternoon, gentlemen. We are using the net machine and we

:06:34. > :06:42.have TV change-overs, so please be seated until I say "time" and we are

:06:43. > :06:47.using Hawk-Eye. Use your voice, say "challenge" loud and clear and the

:06:48. > :07:01.challenge has to be immediately. 25 seconds. Any questions? Heads or

:07:02. > :07:11.tails? Heads is called. Tails. Novak? Serve. Picture with Sharon.

:07:12. > :07:17.They look like a couple of heavyweight boxers getting ready

:07:18. > :07:23.before a bout, they are both so ready for this. Very much so. I

:07:24. > :07:27.think as Andrew mentioned yesterday, Rafa having that long match, I feel

:07:28. > :07:31.that his year hasn't been as good as he would have expected, so,

:07:32. > :07:34.therefore, he will be fresh and he know this is is the last tournament

:07:35. > :07:38.of the year. He will be wanting to let it all hang out today. We saw

:07:39. > :07:44.there just how the group finished and who came through. We mentioned

:07:45. > :07:48.that Nadal was unbeaten here and Djokovic lost his match to Federer,

:07:49. > :07:52.but we have mentioned the big three, and Roger is through, but there is a

:07:53. > :07:56.fourth man in the semifinals, we know now that it is Stanislas

:07:57. > :08:01.Wawrinka. He came through in straight sets against Andy Murray.

:08:02. > :08:07.Murray was a breakdown, but he was 4-2 up in the tie-break, and then

:08:08. > :08:13.lost it 7-4. I watched the match, I thought Andy was - I think it is

:08:14. > :08:15.right now for Andy to get ready for this magnificent achievement which

:08:16. > :08:19.he is right on the verge of next week, the Davis Cup. The fact he

:08:20. > :08:24.lost this match is a disappointment. We want to see him play. Of course,

:08:25. > :08:27.I wanted him to win this and play Federer, it would have been

:08:28. > :08:30.fantastic. There was a lot of good things that happened in the match

:08:31. > :08:36.for him. He had that chance in the first set. But now his tournament is

:08:37. > :08:40.over, it is OK, rest now, be with Kim for a day or two, get some

:08:41. > :08:44.practice in, and go to Belgium and be ready. This was in the wrong

:08:45. > :08:50.place for him, this event. He didn't play great. They were in a different

:08:51. > :08:53.place. He didn't want to have any excuses, they changed that, it is

:08:54. > :08:59.over for Andy and I'm sort of glad it is. A good effort last night but

:09:00. > :09:04.not quite enough. He certainly had his chances in the second set, he

:09:05. > :09:09.was two breaks of serve down and nearly broke back, but Stan Wawrinka

:09:10. > :09:13.was too tough. Stan has had a great record here, three appearances at

:09:14. > :09:17.the end-of-year Championships and he's been in the semifinal three

:09:18. > :09:22.times. Andy Murray now has to concentrate on the Davis Cup. It is

:09:23. > :09:26.Stan Wawrinka who goes through, a repeat of last year's semifinal

:09:27. > :09:31.against Roger Federer. A great atmosphere here last night as well.

:09:32. > :09:35.So, here is the semifinal line-up. We are looking forward to Djokovic

:09:36. > :09:41.against Nadal, then the all-Swiss affair as Federer takes on Wawrinka.

:09:42. > :09:49.Now, today we have just heard the sad news that one of the great

:09:50. > :09:55.pioneers of BBC Sport's broadcasting died peacefully yesterday at the age

:09:56. > :09:58.of 94. He was the first presenter of Grandstand and many other iconic

:09:59. > :10:05.programmes. Our thoughts with his family and friends.

:10:06. > :10:10.How he would certainly have enjoyed the sporting theatre that we have on

:10:11. > :10:14.offer here this afternoon. And these guys offer so much, they know each

:10:15. > :10:18.other's game so well, they play the big points well. But is Rafael Nadal

:10:19. > :10:23.still the player he was because Novak has won all three meetings

:10:24. > :10:28.this year? He is getting a lot closer. We have talked a lot about

:10:29. > :10:31.Rafa's performance in Miami when he gave the press conference saying how

:10:32. > :10:34.nervous he was getting in the biggest moments in his matches and

:10:35. > :10:37.how that was affecting his performances. In the last five or

:10:38. > :10:42.six weeks, he's started to get his game back to where we know and love

:10:43. > :10:45.to see. He's been very aggressive, I have been impressed with the way he

:10:46. > :10:49.has been flattening his backhand out, which will be an important shot

:10:50. > :10:54.against Djokovic. Djokovic will look to pin him in that backhand corner

:10:55. > :10:58.and use the forehand down the line, so I think Rafa can go out there and

:10:59. > :11:02.be ultra-aggressive today, he doesn't have anything to lose, he's

:11:03. > :11:06.got lots to gain, and he will be keen to try and keep his nose in

:11:07. > :11:10.front. Good to see he is enjoying himself. He was asked after the

:11:11. > :11:15.match, it went three sets, will that affect him, he said, "I don't know,

:11:16. > :11:21.maybe it will." He said, "Winning that match gave he 200 points." That

:11:22. > :11:25.is like winning a 250 event. And securing another victory against a

:11:26. > :11:28.world top ten. It is about building confidence? That is right. When you

:11:29. > :11:34.have struggled on the big points - he went from the greatest big-point

:11:35. > :11:39.player to number four. He was like number 50 in big-points play. He was

:11:40. > :11:46.losing the big points. He was choking a bit. He is getting nervous

:11:47. > :11:51.and you lose your forehand and you lose the believe in yourself. To

:11:52. > :11:55.have this man back at the top table is just fantastic. Earlier this

:11:56. > :11:59.year, legitimate questions were being asked about whether he would

:12:00. > :12:04.ever be as good as he's been before again. I think we are seeing now,

:12:05. > :12:09.this is the first signs, this tournament, that he is ready to go

:12:10. > :12:13.back to the top. You say 45 meetings, it is great rivalry.

:12:14. > :12:23.There's been so many great rivalries over the years, and we have enjoyed

:12:24. > :12:26.so many of them. 46 meetings and Djokovic-Federer, Lendl-McEnroe. My

:12:27. > :12:32.favourite isn't there, Connors-McEnroe. Yes. There have

:12:33. > :12:40.been some great rivalries. We want to ask you which rivalry you have

:12:41. > :12:46.enjoyed over the years. That is our question today. You can get in

:12:47. > :12:51.touch. This certainly, Tim, is one of the best? It certainly is.

:12:52. > :13:00.Looking down that list, I think it is interesting not to forget

:13:01. > :13:03.Agassi-Sampras. Back to this match, when Djokovic lost to Federer, there

:13:04. > :13:07.were a lot of people thought that that could be the final as well. And

:13:08. > :13:11.the way that the draw has evolved coming through to the semifinals, I

:13:12. > :13:14.do see Djokovic coming through. He's been so consistent, he's been so

:13:15. > :13:17.dominant in the big matches and I think when you look at this

:13:18. > :13:23.match-up, the way he moves, how aggressive he is from the back of

:13:24. > :13:26.the court, I feel in the baseline exchanges Djokovic wins 60-40, he

:13:27. > :13:29.will come out on top. What a great year he's had. What a great finish

:13:30. > :13:35.to the year. Before losing to Federer, which was a group match, it

:13:36. > :13:39.still didn't matter as much, he was undefeated? You know who Federer

:13:40. > :13:45.picked to win this tournament, he picked Djokovic to win it still. He

:13:46. > :13:54.has to be favourite. In his great year of 2011, he won 70 matches and

:13:55. > :13:59.lost 6. This guy is ridiculous. Great rivalries are based on new

:14:00. > :14:03.standards being set. Rafa has taken a close look at this, thinking, I'm

:14:04. > :14:08.29, I can be number one again. For a lot of reasons, it is fascinating. I

:14:09. > :14:12.would go with what Tim said as well, Djokovic starts as a heavy

:14:13. > :14:16.favourite. He does. For people watching at home, watching these

:14:17. > :14:20.great players play, the angles they create, they make the court look so

:14:21. > :14:23.big for their opponent and make them do so much running? That is right.

:14:24. > :14:28.When you look at their movement and how fast they both are, it is very

:14:29. > :14:31.difficult to hit through them, so to create those opportunities, I think

:14:32. > :14:35.you have to use the angles, you have to try and open up the hole to hit

:14:36. > :14:40.the big shot. We will see Djokovic trying to play the short cross-court

:14:41. > :14:44.to Rafa's backhand, Rafa will be doing the same with his forehand.

:14:45. > :14:47.Then it is who can take the more high-risk shot down the line over

:14:48. > :14:52.the high part of the net into a smaller area of the court that can

:14:53. > :14:55.dominate these baseline exchanges. Friends, family, coaches, they are

:14:56. > :14:59.all courtside. A number of superstars are here as well. We are

:15:00. > :15:03.in for a long afternoon. The rallies will be brutal and in the past, they

:15:04. > :15:13.have had so many memorable matches. The one at the Australian Open 5

:15:14. > :15:17.hours 53 minutes? They are both so solid from the baseline. They are

:15:18. > :15:22.not the quickest in between points. We should settle in for a good, long

:15:23. > :15:27.afternoon of tennis. OK. I can't wait. Andy, all yours.

:15:28. > :15:31.COMMENTARY: Thank you very much. I wonder how long it will be before

:15:32. > :15:37.now and commencement of this match. Rafa does take his time. He is doing

:15:38. > :15:40.his bottle thing. He is one of the most watchable sportsmen in the

:15:41. > :15:47.world, isn't he? There's another one. He's got the boys here, too!

:15:48. > :15:52.Excellent. David playing with his eldest son at Old Trafford the other

:15:53. > :15:56.day, I saw. Was that for UNICEF? That was delightful to see. From one

:15:57. > :15:58.great sportsman to another. Now, here is another one still, Novak

:15:59. > :16:10.Djokovic. Listen to the crowd here. Best of three sets as a reminder.

:16:11. > :16:13.Season-ending Championships. Two more matches for both these players.

:16:14. > :16:16.They will throw the kitchen sink at each other. And it is level.

:16:17. > :17:19.UMPIRE: Ready. Play. A bit closer to the line on the last

:17:20. > :17:30.forehand than he would have liked. It dropped in. Djokovic can't leave

:17:31. > :17:41.the ball in the middle of the court, Rafa's forehand.

:17:42. > :17:56.That is where he is able to create so much spin.

:17:57. > :18:03.A strange one. A loosener from both ends of the court, Djokovic's second

:18:04. > :18:23.serve, 80mph in the middle of the box.

:18:24. > :20:06.Some pretty easy power, isn't it? Incredible!

:20:07. > :20:25.Boris Becker working with Novak Djokovic, one of his star coaches

:20:26. > :20:35.from the past who have joined the ranks back on tour again. Ivanovic

:20:36. > :20:47.with Marin Cilic, Michael Chang with Kei Nishikori, Stefan Edberg with

:20:48. > :20:51.Roger Federer. Magnus Norman with Stanislas Wawrinka. Rafael Nadal

:20:52. > :20:57.resisting all calls when his form wasn't quite so good this year to

:20:58. > :21:01.dispatch with the services of Uncle Toni. He's not one to change a

:21:02. > :21:13.winning game plan easily. Talking of winning game plans, I

:21:14. > :21:14.feel Nadal's really going to have to keep his first serve percentage

:21:15. > :22:26.high. That's so sweetly done. There is no

:22:27. > :22:33.sense of panic about that at all. It's calmly done. It's technically

:22:34. > :22:35.perfect. It's a second serve, exactly as Tim Henman was talking

:22:36. > :23:07.about. Nadal needs first serves. For so many players, this would be a

:23:08. > :23:14.high-risk shot from behind the baseline. Because of his movement,

:23:15. > :23:19.and his balance and technique is so good, the ball is two feet inside

:23:20. > :24:01.the sideline and baseline. What a game of tennis from Novak

:24:02. > :24:05.Djokovic! Unbelievable start. That is technically as close to

:24:06. > :24:10.perfection as you can imagine. It's some statement when Djokovic says

:24:11. > :24:17.I'm going to trade with my backhand to your strength, Rafa, he played

:24:18. > :24:18.six or seven backhands cross-court into Nadal's forehand and that was

:24:19. > :25:15.the best of the lot. Nadal had a lot of great baseline

:25:16. > :25:19.exchanges with Ferrer yesterday, but you felt he could stay in the rally.

:25:20. > :26:13.Against Djokovic, he will have to go for broke earlier.

:26:14. > :26:28.Louis Smith, silver medallist at the gymnastics a couple of weeks back.

:26:29. > :26:34.Max Whitlock got a gold. He was busy taking somebody's selfie for them.

:26:35. > :26:38.In the meantime, Djokovic continues on his merry way here, very

:26:39. > :26:42.comfortable start, ten minutes and on the verge of 3-0. What is Nadal

:26:43. > :27:13.going to do about this? UMPIRE: Mr Nadal is challenging the

:27:14. > :27:17.call on the near side, the ball is called out. One of these ones, that

:27:18. > :27:21.even though it is right under his nose, he won't have a view on this.

:27:22. > :27:26.He is as interested as anybody else. Nadal came across it a bit. It

:27:27. > :27:33.faded. But it stayed on the line. It keeps the game going.

:27:34. > :27:43.Very theatrical voice, himself, hasn't he?

:27:44. > :27:50.Sympathetic to the players, and that is important.

:27:51. > :28:11.Amazing Djokovic, how do you counter this? Rafael Nadal is looking

:28:12. > :28:15.forward to next year and he is laying great foundations. He wants

:28:16. > :28:21.to this win this match. Everybody is trying to catch - there is an idea.

:28:22. > :28:25.He's trying to catch a and work on his game. Everybody is trying to

:28:26. > :28:32.catch Novak Djokovic. Is there a weakness in that Serbian game?

:28:33. > :28:38.Where's ours? A weakness - all I can see is just strengths and when you

:28:39. > :28:41.think about players of the past, plenty of guys who have played from

:28:42. > :28:45.the baseline and have had a big forehand. Now, when you look at

:28:46. > :28:51.Djokovic's game, it is like he is playing with two dominant shots. On

:28:52. > :28:55.his backhand, he is stepping in and drilling the ball cross-court. It

:28:56. > :29:00.leaves you very small areas of the court that you can hit into. You

:29:01. > :29:03.can't outrun him. You are not going to be more flexible than him on the

:29:04. > :29:14.wings, running laterally. You can try and bring him in, but he's

:29:15. > :29:20.worked on his volley. Somebody will come through to respond at some

:29:21. > :29:28.point. He's not unbeatable. At times, when he puts in 20 minutes,

:29:29. > :29:34.25 minutes like he has now - 20 minutes - it is just too good. A

:29:35. > :29:49.great challenge for Rafael Nadal. UMPIRE: Time.

:29:50. > :29:52.Nadal is going to have a lot of crowd support if he can get this

:29:53. > :31:25.close. Rafa's dad, the Spanish David cup

:31:26. > :31:42.captain. They are in the world group again, next year.

:31:43. > :31:50.Rafa took a bit of the first serve there to make sure he got it in and

:31:51. > :32:46.still the same scenario. Return of serve back on his shoelaces.

:32:47. > :32:51.Keeping an excellent length on the forehand side, Nadal. Rewarded with

:32:52. > :33:34.the backhand error and game point. Rafa Nadal going into the body, the

:33:35. > :33:39.right hip of Novak Djokovic, twice in that game. Direction of serve

:33:40. > :33:44.very important against great returners. That is a great place to

:33:45. > :34:08.lock your opponent up, on the right hip.

:34:09. > :34:14.It has been suggested that the only weakness of Djokovic as a shot is

:34:15. > :34:18.the overhead and he does actually miss one or two. But you cannot

:34:19. > :37:27.really expose that can you? 28 Gerald Novak Djokovic, world

:37:28. > :37:31.number one, a position he has held every single week of this year. He

:37:32. > :37:39.has been number one since the middle of last year, July. This is the year

:37:40. > :37:46.he has put together. It's not bad! Only lost on six occasions, ten

:37:47. > :37:50.titles. The biggest tournaments, the Masters 1000 series, there are nine

:37:51. > :37:55.of them and he has won six of them, the first man to ever do that. It is

:37:56. > :38:07.the Grand Slams which define a man's career. At Paris he would be denied

:38:08. > :38:13.having absolutely dismissed Rafa Nadal, his opponent today in the

:38:14. > :38:20.quarterfinal, may get all the way through to the final. Novak Djokovic

:38:21. > :38:27.trying to complete the set found Wawrinka in absolutely outstanding

:38:28. > :38:32.form. Can you still be considered one of the greatest players of all

:38:33. > :38:36.time without winning all four of the majors? I think it depends on the

:38:37. > :38:42.numbers. I think if the French Open was not on his CV at the end of his

:38:43. > :38:46.career I think it would be a major disappointment for him. I don't see

:38:47. > :38:51.it happening. I relate to bleed he will win the French Open and

:38:52. > :38:56.complete the set. It's going to be very interesting, at ten Grand Slams

:38:57. > :39:05.now, how many more he is going to win with Roger Federer out in front

:39:06. > :39:09.on 17. Gave a wonderful speech at the end of the final of the French

:39:10. > :39:16.Open, the disappointment writ large. It was all over his body language,

:39:17. > :39:20.his face. But was still gracious enough to be as generous and

:39:21. > :39:25.articulate as he always is. Rafa Nadal has won the French Open just

:39:26. > :40:09.the nine times! He has only lost twice at that tournament. Madness.

:40:10. > :40:18.It is a challenge for Nadal to decide where to serve to Djokovic.

:40:19. > :40:18.It is a challenge for Nadal to Does not truly have the pace

:40:19. > :40:18.It is a challenge for Nadal to serve through him so has to make

:40:19. > :40:49.It is a challenge for Nadal to sure he mixes it up.

:40:50. > :40:55.The body serve is always effective when you get it absolutely spot on,

:40:56. > :40:57.but if you don't quite hit your target the serve goes straight into

:40:58. > :42:23.the hitting zone for the opponent. Last game coming up with the old

:42:24. > :42:28.tennis balls. If they are going to be slower little fluffy at all, it's

:42:29. > :42:44.going to be in this game. 26 minutes of play so far.

:42:45. > :42:51.Mr Nadal challenges the call. Looks like a forward base. It leaves a

:42:52. > :43:40.mark on the court but they do come and clean the court every night.

:43:41. > :43:47.Djokovic has just got a little bit more weight behind his first serve,

:43:48. > :43:49.Rafa does not take the return quite so early. It means Djokovic can open

:43:50. > :44:09.up the angles. Game, Djokovic. New balls please. So

:44:10. > :44:13.we have had a look at Novak Djokovic's year, the celebration of

:44:14. > :44:18.achievement that has been. For Rafa Nadal, for the first time in his

:44:19. > :44:25.career, a real loss of confidence. For once. And it has come as such a

:44:26. > :44:29.surprise. But there are signs he is coming back. He went down as low as

:44:30. > :44:41.number ten in the world this summer which did not look right at all. He

:44:42. > :44:45.is back up to number five. The French Open quarterfinal loss was a

:44:46. > :44:52.body blow, it confirmed what we were all seeing, that Djokovic was

:44:53. > :44:55.playing a different level of tennis. It was an unbelievable performance

:44:56. > :44:58.from Dustin Brown at Wimbledon who has instantly just finished playing

:44:59. > :45:04.a challenger this week in Italy. Maybe semifinal. An inspired

:45:05. > :45:10.performance again from Fabio Fognini, from two sets up, rapper

:45:11. > :45:16.losing 6-4 in the first. That is his Grand Slam year, with three titles

:45:17. > :45:28.won along the way. Not what he's used to, but back up to number five.

:45:29. > :45:33.On the same diet as the heroic Novak Djokovic! Gluten-free. I tell you,

:45:34. > :45:39.it made a huge difference to Novak Djokovic who was often fatigued on

:45:40. > :45:42.court and would run out of steam. Came out and declared his

:45:43. > :46:14.gluten-free diet is something which had aided him.

:46:15. > :46:21.Multipurpose arena of course. The big scoreboard right above the court

:46:22. > :47:47.is significantly lower than the roof.

:47:48. > :47:56.There is a bit of momentum for Nadal going into this Djokovic service

:47:57. > :48:06.game. Nadal will take out a new frame. First time returning. We will

:48:07. > :48:15.just check his identification. That seems all right. And I think we know

:48:16. > :48:40.who he is as well! This is a big game coming up.

:48:41. > :49:33.First sign of anything other total efficiency.

:49:34. > :49:40.Came at the back of the ball too much, did not get through it.

:49:41. > :49:45.Especially after being given the gift of the double fault. Djokovic

:49:46. > :50:27.serving for the set, you don't want to give any donations of your own.

:50:28. > :50:36.That is it, one break of serve in Nadal's first service game, Djokovic

:50:37. > :50:42.capitalising to take it. In this magnificent rivalry it is 61 sets

:50:43. > :50:48.each overtime. I wonder if Nadal has got anything to fight Djokovic

:50:49. > :50:51.today. STUDIO: Yes, it is all Djokovic at the moment. He said he

:50:52. > :50:57.would have took up his game against Rafa and has certainly done that so

:50:58. > :51:08.far. We asked the question on social media, which rivalry have you

:51:09. > :51:20.enjoyed the most. One saying the volume is -- the Williams sisters.

:51:21. > :51:24.Nowadays it is Wawrinka versus Djokovic, they have had some

:51:25. > :51:35.classics as well. How about this one, the best rivalry is Andy Murray

:51:36. > :51:40.and himself. Interesting. COMMENTATOR: That is a pretty good

:51:41. > :51:47.one, and I hope he is resting well ahead of what is coming up this week

:51:48. > :51:51.in Belgium. Able to just chill out a little bit, get away from this.

:51:52. > :51:54.People don't realise quite the strain of being a competitor in

:51:55. > :52:05.these events, especially Andy at home. Pressure, but a bit of rest.

:52:06. > :52:13.Rivalries, Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski, I liked that. It had its

:52:14. > :52:17.moments. There was always a bit of tension out there. I think any time

:52:18. > :52:23.you play someone from the same country there will be added spice. I

:52:24. > :52:28.think the fact that we were the only two British players at the time

:52:29. > :52:38.added to it. The media revving it up Aluko but. -- it up a little bit.

:52:39. > :52:42.Just trying to figure out if there is anything Nadal can do here, if

:52:43. > :52:49.you were coaching, what would you say to him? The first set was all

:52:50. > :52:55.about the first 16 points. Djokovic won 12 of them, up 3-0, the early

:52:56. > :53:00.break of set. The next six games were very uneventful. Own a set,

:53:01. > :53:04.Rafa serving first, he needs to try to keep his nose in front and place

:53:05. > :53:09.strong service games, build a bit of pressure the scoreboard. But you

:53:10. > :53:14.know from Djokovic's side of the court he will be ready to up the

:53:15. > :53:26.ante, raise the intensity, to try and get that early break. To finish

:53:27. > :53:29.this match in straight sets. Full house this Saturday afternoon,

:53:30. > :53:34.semifinal of the season-ending championships. They would like

:53:35. > :53:35.nothing more than to get behind Rafa Nadal and see a close match. We will

:53:36. > :54:03.see. And nothing slice on the backhand in

:54:04. > :54:09.the middle of the court and Djokovic will keep that up ten times out of

:54:10. > :54:13.ten. Djokovic played the backhand down the line that clipped the top

:54:14. > :54:16.of the net and it looked like it could have been pretty close to

:54:17. > :54:44.being out. Got the defence of reply from Nadal. -- the defensive reply.

:54:45. > :54:50.Already Nadal in a bit of a hole on serve in the first game of the

:54:51. > :55:20.second set. Mr Djokovic challenges the call. The

:55:21. > :55:26.ball was called out in the line judge I think correctly the cold. --

:55:27. > :55:33.the call. Does that mean it doesn't need to go to a challenge? Then

:55:34. > :55:41.Nadal would challenge it. So he changed his call. Rafa will have a

:55:42. > :55:46.quick look at it. Everybody is challenging everything at this

:55:47. > :55:50.moment. Now Novak will say did that affect the play of Rafa. Whatever,

:55:51. > :56:19.play it again. We are all confused. He has missed that one, that is a

:56:20. > :56:52.big mess. -- miss. Plenty of love from them and the

:56:53. > :58:01.crowd for Rafa. Good use of the body serve. Got the

:58:02. > :58:03.defensive reply. Really needs to find a way of holding onto this

:58:04. > :59:03.first service game. The support from the crowd, it is

:59:04. > :59:06.almost as if Djokovic is a victim of his own success. They are desperate

:59:07. > :59:18.for a competitive match up and really trying to get behind Nadal.

:59:19. > :59:41.It is interesting, Djokovic, he is so good he actually makes the

:59:42. > :59:48.difficult look so easy that it is easy to think he is a bit dull at

:59:49. > :59:52.times. It's always too good length, it is always safe. The one on the

:59:53. > :00:10.right-hand side, it is almost a mistake. Today, great length,

:00:11. > :00:19.nothing short at all. If was a Canon there he would be knocking

:00:20. > :00:46.The rest of his numbers were impressive.

:00:47. > :01:32.The chairman of Wimbledon and his wife.

:01:33. > :01:38.From Nadal's point of view, it is one of these matches where he always

:01:39. > :01:42.feels like he is serving. Djokovic has dropped half a dozen points on

:01:43. > :02:00.serve and Nadal is having to work hard to hold on to his own deal.

:02:01. > :02:11.Djokovic has lost just seven points on serve. There's two ways to put

:02:12. > :02:15.pressure on your opponent's serve. One, being a great returner, so you

:02:16. > :02:17.are always in the service games, but also put pressure on by holding

:02:18. > :03:43.serve easily. You talk about the advantage of the

:03:44. > :03:45.two-hander, he was able to use the left hand to get on top of the ball,

:03:46. > :04:15.but still such impressive execution. Marian Vajda has been with Djokovic

:04:16. > :04:21.for a lot longer than Boris Becker. Clearly, they work well together.

:04:22. > :04:48.Vajda was ranked in the 30s, good player, won a couple of titles.

:04:49. > :05:01.Another good hold. Nadal creating a little bit of momentum here.

:05:02. > :05:07.End-of-season finale on the ATP Tour. A thing that goes around 31

:05:08. > :05:12.countries, 61 ATP events, it comes down to this eight-man event. We

:05:13. > :05:17.have had several multiple winners. Nobody has won it more than Federer

:05:18. > :05:24.times six! No-one has won it four straight. Lendl got close, Ilie

:05:25. > :05:31.Nastase was close as well from '71 to '73. Novak Djokovic has a chance

:05:32. > :05:35.to make it four straight and be the first person to achieve that. Ilie

:05:36. > :05:43.Nastase was incredible to watch in this event. Boris Becker as well, he

:05:44. > :05:53.ended Lendl's hopes at Madison Square Gardens in '88.

:05:54. > :06:05.Becker won it 7-6 in the fifth. How many strokes was it? 72nd was the

:06:06. > :06:07.net cord, as far as I remember. They weren't hitting it hard enough(!)

:06:08. > :06:16.Yeah. Good to see Louis Smith here.

:06:17. > :06:26.Strictly winner. Was that two years ago? I forget. That's on again

:06:27. > :06:31.tonight. That's pretty competitive. But not quite like when these two go

:06:32. > :06:35.head-to-head. We haven't seen the high - this is just still simmering

:06:36. > :06:36.and whether or not Nadal can stay with Djokovic here, I don't know. We

:06:37. > :07:42.will see. That's exactly the right play,

:07:43. > :07:45.thumbs up from Carlos Costa, a former top ten player himself,

:07:46. > :07:59.represents the commercial side of the Nadal empire.

:08:00. > :08:45.Same again, Tim. This one, 1 minute and 19 seconds.

:08:46. > :09:03.Novak's wife. Their son, just over a year-old.

:09:04. > :09:12.UMPIRE: Mr Djokovic is challenging the call, right centre service line,

:09:13. > :09:19.the ball is called in. Looked good from where we are sitting.

:09:20. > :09:49.That return was brilliant. So difficult to dig a forehand out of

:09:50. > :09:52.the right hip area to get the feet into position, to maintain the

:09:53. > :09:55.racquet head through the ball in that situation. Very impressive.

:09:56. > :11:41.Didn't look spectacular, did it? Yes, you could say a mistake from

:11:42. > :11:45.Nadal, but he is hitting, three, four, five unbelievable shots.

:11:46. > :11:52.Djokovic is there. Watch Djokovic go to the right here.

:11:53. > :11:56.This one, beneath the height of the net. Here is a moment coming up. Two

:11:57. > :12:21.break-points, Djokovic. Nadal using that forehand body serve

:12:22. > :12:26.a lot. Got the mistake. Needs another one

:12:27. > :13:23.here. Really, what is Nadal to do?

:13:24. > :13:29.Djokovic was just increasing the speed and the power throughout that

:13:30. > :13:33.rally. It felt like he could pull the trigger at any moment. This

:13:34. > :13:37.player, who has so dominated this year, seems to be on the way here.

:13:38. > :13:46.He has lost a match this week, to Roger Federer, first indoor loss in

:13:47. > :13:50.years, an unbelievable streak that was, and 23-match unbeaten streak.

:13:51. > :13:54.Roger Federer has done it this week. I don't know what to think about

:13:55. > :14:00.Nadal now. You could say it is a mistake at the end, but it is just -

:14:01. > :14:03.he is subject to pressure from the other end, isn't he? He certainly

:14:04. > :14:08.was. You felt that Djokovic's mindset, once he got into that point

:14:09. > :14:12.on the break-point, there was no way he was going to make an unforced

:14:13. > :14:22.error. He was slowly becoming more and more aggressive and eventually

:14:23. > :14:25.forced the mistake from Nadal. Fantastic staging here at the O2,

:14:26. > :14:38.really is an awesome sound system, as you can imagine as well. All

:14:39. > :14:42.sorts of events are going on here, the Stereophonics are here, Mumford

:14:43. > :14:52.Sons. The easiest way to get here by Tube, if you have tickets for

:14:53. > :14:59.tomorrow, the final at 6.00pm. Forget Strictly. I will be watching

:15:00. > :15:04.Federer against Wawrinka tonight. Want to give us an early prediction

:15:05. > :15:10.on that? Federer, I would think. He's had a day's rest. But I

:15:11. > :15:15.wouldn't be more than 51-49 on that one. He has a great head-to-head.

:15:16. > :15:21.You? I hate to have to agree with you, but I think Federer will win 6

:15:22. > :16:50.and 4. That's very precise of you. That is where he is able to flatten

:16:51. > :16:55.out the forehand a bit more, gets the penetration through the court,

:16:56. > :16:57.to hit the clean winner. He is playing one of the quickest men that

:16:58. > :17:01.has ever played this game. And he wasn't within six feet of it!

:17:02. > :17:37.No. How do you get through the back of

:17:38. > :17:42.the ball instead of up the back on a penetrating, low, well-hit ball from

:17:43. > :17:59.Djokovic? When you've got such an extreme grip like Nadal.

:18:00. > :18:03.It seems like the lines are extra thick on Nadal's side of the court.

:18:04. > :18:31.Djokovic hits them so consistently. Year-end number one, he will be once

:18:32. > :18:36.again. That will be four of the last five years. Number two in 2013, that

:18:37. > :18:39.was the year of Nadal's return, do you remember that seven-month

:18:40. > :18:44.absence, the game missed him so much? Question marks that he

:18:45. > :18:50.answered so well in 2013. It appears in the last three or four months

:18:51. > :18:52.that he is back. Or at least trying to regain his very best form. That

:18:53. > :21:56.is good news. So, still no break-points for Rafael

:21:57. > :21:59.Nadal. A set and a breakdown. Djokovic has got to hold a couple

:22:00. > :22:03.more times to make his way through to the final of the World Tour

:22:04. > :22:07.Finals once again and looking back, Tim, at the matches that they have

:22:08. > :22:12.played, Djokovic has won seven of the last eight meetings. The final

:22:13. > :22:18.of the French last year was the only time that Nadal has won in that

:22:19. > :22:31.time. This year, it's been 6-3, 6-3 in Monte Carlo on the clay, 7-5,

:22:32. > :22:34.6-3, 6-1 in the French Open quarterfinals and 6-2, 6-2 to

:22:35. > :22:39.Djokovic in Beijing. The rivalry is one way. It is. When you try and

:22:40. > :22:44.come up with a game plan of how Nadal can get back into this match,

:22:45. > :22:49.you really are having to rely on Djokovic's levels dropping because

:22:50. > :22:52.he's just been clinical in all areas, he's only dropped eight

:22:53. > :22:57.points on his serve in the whole match. More winners than unforced

:22:58. > :23:02.errors. Winning five out of six points when he comes to the net. So,

:23:03. > :23:06.his first serve percentage is at 68%, so Nadal is not getting too

:23:07. > :23:09.many looks at second serves. The reason the lights stay down is

:23:10. > :23:14.because for those stations taking this around the world, they slot in

:23:15. > :23:18.commercial breaks at an allotted amount of time that Tay can rely on.

:23:19. > :23:23.The players are asked to wait until the lights come back up because that

:23:24. > :23:31.means that coming out of those breaks, broadcasters are ready. We

:23:32. > :24:19.don't have to deal with that. Djokovic comfortable at the moment.

:24:20. > :26:10.That is sporting from Rafael Nadal because he would have seen the

:26:11. > :26:15.passing shot go down the line here. Then the long arm of the law came

:26:16. > :26:18.out and that is a magnificent volley.

:26:19. > :26:53.Just enough spin to take it away from the Spanish forehand side.

:26:54. > :26:59.A couple of weak second serves from Djokovic, only 81mph in the middle

:27:00. > :27:01.of the box. At this stage of the match, this is a half chance that

:27:02. > :27:34.Nadal has to grasp. You just have to salute the work

:27:35. > :27:36.that Djokovic has done to get to this point, and the simplicity of

:27:37. > :27:49.his game, it is beautiful to watch. To add pace on a ball like that, to

:27:50. > :28:26.hit it cleanly past Nadal at 30-30, that is quality.

:28:27. > :28:33.Too low for that. He had 30-30, but Djokovic winning the next two points

:28:34. > :28:48.to disappoint Nadal fans once again. Not too many big matches in Nadal's

:28:49. > :28:53.career where he picks up no break-points.

:28:54. > :28:58.UMPIRE: Please take a seat, thank you.

:28:59. > :29:04.Serving to stay in the semifinal. Federer versus Wawrinka is the

:29:05. > :29:51.second semifinal, the final tomorrow night at 6.00pm.

:29:52. > :29:57.They met in high school all those years ago, 18 and 17 at the time. A

:29:58. > :31:38.young family now. Nadal will be disappointed with this

:31:39. > :31:42.shot, not a great drop shot from Djokovic. Did not do enough with the

:31:43. > :33:19.approach. The second time he has got the ball

:33:20. > :33:25.over his head between the legs, simple enough to put away, but no

:33:26. > :33:29.such thing as an easy game for Nadal, he has absolutely been given

:33:30. > :33:56.the runaround. I have seen him lobbed from that position. The

:33:57. > :34:03.winning line is looming and he has been perfection so far. Never know

:34:04. > :34:08.what is going to happen in the next game and the crowd are going to try

:34:09. > :34:09.to help Nadal. It is not anti-Djokovic in any way, why would

:34:10. > :34:37.it be? Might get a little tight, he was

:34:38. > :34:42.dirty all on his previous game, Djokovic. Tidying up a match against

:34:43. > :34:57.the previous champion is never that easy.

:34:58. > :35:28.Advantage, Djokovic. Please turn off the flashlight.

:35:29. > :36:00.That is a pure performance. Perfect hitting, clinical in all regards, he

:36:01. > :36:04.has absolutely dominated Rafa Nadal. Fabulous contribution from the

:36:05. > :36:17.Spaniard to this event again, but this is Djokovic's day. He can sit

:36:18. > :36:24.back now and enjoyed Federer Wawrinka. Appreciation for Rafa

:36:25. > :36:30.Nadal indeed. So good to see him winning matches. Three of them here,

:36:31. > :36:40.a semifinal? He will take that. And be ready at the start of 2016.

:36:41. > :36:47.Wonderful to see him back. But at the moment, this year, not enough to

:36:48. > :36:53.deal with Novak Djokovic. But the same could be said for everybody.

:36:54. > :36:56.Absolutely, it was a brilliant performance from Djokovic and this

:36:57. > :37:01.match never really hit the heights because Djokovic did not allow it

:37:02. > :37:06.to. Dominant from start to finish, stamped his authority on those first

:37:07. > :37:14.three games. Rafa Nadal never even had a break point. Full

:37:15. > :37:24.straight sets. One hour and 19 minutes. I semifinal that we built

:37:25. > :37:32.up, it is a great rivalry which now stands at 23 matches all. Djokovic

:37:33. > :37:43.with one more set for what it is worth. Cat quite see that. Will have

:37:44. > :37:52.to get my glasses on. Perhaps a Private message, that one. Djokovic

:37:53. > :37:58.into the final again, just as last year. We were denied the match with

:37:59. > :38:01.Roger Federer because he played such an amazing semifinal, a gruelling

:38:02. > :38:04.one against the match with Roger Federer because he played such an

:38:05. > :38:08.amazing semifinal, a gruelling one against barbering -- against

:38:09. > :38:40.Wawrinka. Djokovic will wish for a long match

:38:41. > :38:45.tonight, not much recovery time if it does turn into a late night for

:38:46. > :38:51.Roger Federer or Stan Wawrinka. Federer last year could not move at

:38:52. > :39:00.all, could not take to the court so Andy Murray step in and played an

:39:01. > :39:09.exhibition. Djokovic through, brilliant performance. Well played

:39:10. > :39:15.Novak, into your fifth final, how close to perfection was that

:39:16. > :39:19.performance today? It was a great performance no doubt about that,

:39:20. > :39:24.from the very beginning managed to execute the game plan. I was trying

:39:25. > :39:27.to be aggressive, trying to dictate the play, obviously that is easier

:39:28. > :39:31.said than done when you are playing someone who is as great a defender

:39:32. > :39:36.as Rafa and he was playing some great tennis this week. I pulled out

:39:37. > :39:43.my best game when it was needed most and I am glad to get to the final.

:39:44. > :39:49.You have met each other 46 times, you have won four in a row, how have

:39:50. > :39:54.your matches involved tactically? We have not changed radically our

:39:55. > :40:00.games. Ever since the match that we played against each other many years

:40:01. > :40:05.ago, the first match, up to today, our games are based on the baseline,

:40:06. > :40:10.he plays with more spin. I try to flight it out from the back of the

:40:11. > :40:15.court and I think we both adjusted to the surfaces depending on where

:40:16. > :40:21.we play against each other. It is more or less the same as it was back

:40:22. > :40:26.then. 46 matches after that it feels amazing when we play each other. One

:40:27. > :40:32.of the biggest challenges I can have in sport. You got through the

:40:33. > :40:40.challenge lightning time. Have you had a chance to go and buy a

:40:41. > :40:47.present? I hope I will get him a present on the court here tomorrow.

:40:48. > :40:50.Speaking of tomorrow, the second semifinal tonight, are you going to

:40:51. > :40:55.watch it and do you have a preference who you would like to

:40:56. > :41:02.play? I prefer playing against the Swiss player! CHUCKLES

:41:03. > :41:05.LAUGHTER They have played a great match last

:41:06. > :41:12.year in the semifinals, I watched that one, when it went the

:41:13. > :41:15.distance. They won Davis Cup together, they come from the same

:41:16. > :41:20.country and know each other very well so it will be nice to watch and

:41:21. > :41:26.hopefully I can just perform as well as I did today. We look forward to

:41:27. > :41:32.seeing you in the final. Well done again, Novak Djokovic! STUDIO: He is

:41:33. > :41:36.back to his best and he is in the final, comfortable victory today

:41:37. > :41:42.against his great rival Rafa Nadal. Nothing Nadal could do today.

:41:43. > :41:48.Djokovic is brewed to play either Federer or Wawrinka which you can

:41:49. > :41:56.hear tonight at 8pm and we will be back tomorrow on BBC Two at 6pm. We

:41:57. > :42:02.no Djokovic is true, will it be Federer or Wawrinka? The final

:42:03. > :42:07.tomorrow and next week and another big event looms which means so much

:42:08. > :42:14.to all the players. In 2004 Rafa won it for the first time. It was so

:42:15. > :42:22.special. Novak won it in 2010. It gives you a lot of incentive and

:42:23. > :42:28.motivation. Last year Roger won it. Definitely one of the moments of my

:42:29. > :42:33.life as a tennis player. And so did stand. For me it was a dream, to

:42:34. > :42:41.play for your country it is so special. This year can Andy and

:42:42. > :42:49.company follow suit? That's next week and we cannot wait. The first

:42:50. > :42:56.time Britain have been in the final since 1978. There is going to be a

:42:57. > :43:01.special presentation to a young teen we have been talking about, he has a

:43:02. > :43:05.big future ahead of him. But talking about the future as far as Novak

:43:06. > :43:09.Djokovic is concerned, looking pretty bright after a bit of a dip

:43:10. > :43:15.in form early in the week. Yes he put on a real clinic. We were hoping

:43:16. > :43:20.Rafa could have a bit more influence, impact in the baseline

:43:21. > :43:24.exchanges. I was looking at the stats and Rafa was serving 70% of

:43:25. > :43:29.first serves. You are not giving Djokovic too many looks but when

:43:30. > :43:34.they got into the baseline exchanges Novak was talking about how he was

:43:35. > :43:38.able to flatten the shots. Able to penetrate the court and put Rafa on

:43:39. > :43:43.the defensive. When he got opportunities to go down the line he

:43:44. > :43:49.rarely missed. Another amazing performance to add to an extensive

:43:50. > :43:53.collection. Rafa said I've not had a great year so I'm not having a

:43:54. > :43:58.holiday, straight into the gym, and he knows now what he's up against.

:43:59. > :44:05.Yes he has played more are matches since the US Open than he ever has

:44:06. > :44:08.before. We will go courtside to be introduced to a man who will surely

:44:09. > :44:17.be playing in this championship for many years to come.

:44:18. > :44:28.Today's presentation is for the star of tomorrow presented by emirates.

:44:29. > :44:34.Please welcome the ATP executive chairman and president who will

:44:35. > :44:36.present the trophy, joined by an emirates representative. Please give

:44:37. > :44:52.them a round of applause. Now ladies and gentlemen, the winner

:44:53. > :46:09.of the star of tomorrow, from Germany, Alexander Zverev. APPLAUSE

:46:10. > :46:34.Many congratulations, you must be very proud standing here, the

:46:35. > :46:39.youngest player inside the top 100, can you give us your thoughts

:46:40. > :46:44.looking back on a great 2015? It's been a great year for me and it's

:46:45. > :46:49.very exciting for the future. A lot of young guys coming up and I think

:46:50. > :46:52.we are a very great group and a very stable generation who is looking

:46:53. > :46:58.forward to playing here in the future. I am just happy the way it

:46:59. > :47:03.goes right now and where I am in my career. I was going to say, probably

:47:04. > :47:09.your your first time here, have you got a big extended to make the top

:47:10. > :47:12.eight at the end of the year? Of course, seeing this stadium and

:47:13. > :47:17.atmosphere is amazing. It's a great goal for me to be here one day,

:47:18. > :47:22.playing in the top eight, but there is a long way still ahead of me. I

:47:23. > :47:31.think if doing what I am doing I might be here sometime soon. Finally

:47:32. > :47:36.your ambitions for next year? I just try to be the best I can. The is no

:47:37. > :47:42.goals yet. I just try to be the best player in the future that I can. I

:47:43. > :47:46.think there is a great generation coming up and it's an exciting

:47:47. > :47:51.future for all of us. We look forward to seeing you more in the

:47:52. > :47:55.future, enjoy the moment. Congratulations again. Ladies and

:47:56. > :48:02.gentlemen star of the future of tomorrow, Alexander Zverev! STUDIO:

:48:03. > :48:07.What an amazing young man he is, before we start eulogising about

:48:08. > :48:13.Novak Djokovic, this man has a huge future. Yes, and those in charge of

:48:14. > :48:17.his game, when you think Kei Nishikori is the youngest by three

:48:18. > :48:22.years here and he is 26 next month, take your time and make the right

:48:23. > :48:26.decisions. Build physically and properly and be prepared. It could

:48:27. > :48:33.be eight or ten years before you have too produced your best. But

:48:34. > :48:38.he's a good one. So is Nick Krygios if you can get his head screwed on

:48:39. > :48:44.right. It's a decent generation. If he has been watching today he will

:48:45. > :48:49.think he has a lot of work to do it to number one, Novak Djokovic head

:48:50. > :48:53.and shoulders above everyone else. Yes, Djokovic has been through the

:48:54. > :48:57.process that Alexander Zverev is talking about, is to see the

:48:58. > :49:02.challenges ahead of him. When you see Djokovic like this, changing

:49:03. > :49:05.direction, he can maintain the aggression and keep the consistency.

:49:06. > :49:10.Moving Nadal are around and still has the use of the drop shot. Don't

:49:11. > :49:14.you find it amazing that Djokovic who had an told riches from a young

:49:15. > :49:19.age gets to three or four in the world and wants to push on and set

:49:20. > :49:23.new heights. A lot of the young guys get to a certain point, they have

:49:24. > :49:27.made their money, they have got the car is under house in Monaco, and

:49:28. > :49:34.they get satisfied. Djokovic's hunger for it seems undiminished.

:49:35. > :49:40.This is how Rafa had to play against Djokovic to actually win any points.

:49:41. > :49:45.In the opening of the match that is when Djokovic set out his stall, he

:49:46. > :49:53.dominated the first three games and gave Nadal so little chance to get

:49:54. > :50:01.involved. You can see the athletic ability. Very difficult to put the

:50:02. > :50:05.ball away against Djokovic. Relentless pressure. He does not

:50:06. > :50:12.miss the ball. Physically, how do you get through him? Federer can go

:50:13. > :50:19.through him and we have seen it this week. And Wawrinka can outhit him on

:50:20. > :50:23.occasion but at the moment rapper doesn't quite have the equipment as

:50:24. > :50:27.we have seen from recent results. Djokovic can just put his feet up

:50:28. > :50:34.and watch the other semifinal. Rapper has work to do but is

:50:35. > :50:37.improving. -- Rafa has. He is moving in the right direction, you feel he

:50:38. > :50:41.has more belief and self-confidence back in the way he's hitting the

:50:42. > :50:47.ball, but he has come back against the best player in the world. He

:50:48. > :50:53.knows the bar and will be time to chase it down. It will be

:50:54. > :51:00.interesting tonight, a testy semifinal last year between Feder

:51:01. > :51:01.and Wawrinka. Before we go there is other sport to look forward to on

:51:02. > :51:19.the BBC. We are going to end the programme

:51:20. > :51:30.with the sad news we heard earlier, the legend Peter Dimmick has died.

:51:31. > :51:34.He was the first man to present BBC sports personality of the year and

:51:35. > :51:38.also the first presenter of grandstand and many other iconic

:51:39. > :51:43.programmes. Also behind the cameras he masterminded the coverage of the

:51:44. > :51:49.Queen 's coronation in 1953 and many other landmark events which were TV

:51:50. > :51:51.firsts. Many people have issued statements including BBC

:51:52. > :51:53.director-general pony hole who said he is a much admired figure who will

:51:54. > :52:15.be deeply missed. Good evening and welcome. That seems

:52:16. > :52:27.to have tied up Wimbledon and Lords. My congratulations again. Then we

:52:28. > :52:34.come to the fire display. This evening we are going to use the

:52:35. > :52:37.Univision like to take you to Davos in Switzerland were part of the

:52:38. > :52:43.European Skating Championships. I could have gone on and on and on on

:52:44. > :52:48.what is arguably sports greatest night of the year here in London. We

:52:49. > :52:50.offer a very sincere thank you to all the backroom boys without whose

:52:51. > :52:54.help we could not have brought our programmes to you during 1957. Thank

:52:55. > :52:57.you for joining us.
