:00:49. > :01:00.Every player, young and old, as a burning desire to play at Wembley.

:01:01. > :01:06.When you're in the quarterfinals and.

:01:07. > :01:10.COMMENTATOR: Ian Wright... People talk about a footballer's career but

:01:11. > :01:16.your career is short. When you get the opportunity to get there, you've

:01:17. > :01:24.got to take it. Ian Wright! Put in by the substitute! This is kind of

:01:25. > :01:28.uncharted territory for Palace. You're talking about 20 years since

:01:29. > :01:35.they've been in this situation. He's somewhere whose been there and done

:01:36. > :01:42.it. Super Al, my dear friend, he's being there and done it. This is the

:01:43. > :01:48.FA Cup. So go out and showed them why your favourites. And Reading,

:01:49. > :01:56.they were here last season. They handled the pressure. Reading will

:01:57. > :02:03.want to rewrite the heartbreak of their last trip to Wembley. Poor

:02:04. > :02:05.Adam Federici. So at the end of the day, Wembley beckons for the

:02:06. > :02:15.winners. Welcome to the Madejski Stadium,

:02:16. > :02:21.where 12 months ago Reading sealed a first FA Cup semifinal appearance

:02:22. > :02:25.for 88 years. The Championship site are at it again this season. They

:02:26. > :02:29.knocked out West Brom in round five and a majority of this sell-out

:02:30. > :02:33.crowd believed the Royals can cause another upset tonight. Crystal

:02:34. > :02:38.Palace boss Alan Pardew returns to the club where he started his

:02:39. > :02:43.managerial career. Palace largest made the semifinals back in 1995 and

:02:44. > :02:47.the final back in 1990, when they came within minutes of lifting the

:02:48. > :02:52.famous old trophy. Delighted to say we've got a couple of well-known

:02:53. > :02:56.faces from that 1990 final. Ian Wright of course, who was involved

:02:57. > :03:02.in a very nice opening, I thought, Ian. Like very much. Steve Coppell

:03:03. > :03:06.has managed Reading and Crystal Palace on four separate occasions.

:03:07. > :03:14.Alongside them, Danny Murphy, who is perfectly neutral! Good memories for

:03:15. > :03:17.Ian and Steve. Steve Coll you took the side out at Wembley. What are

:03:18. > :03:22.perhaps the highlight of your career as a manager? It has to be. For

:03:23. > :03:26.every manager it is a dream to lead a side out at Wembley. For us to go

:03:27. > :03:32.there... I've still got the suit by the way, and it fits, but not sure

:03:33. > :03:37.about the flower! Ian, you were injured and you broke your late and

:03:38. > :03:41.you came back. That's why I was so angry there! I was thinking I was

:03:42. > :03:48.running out of time and wasn't going to get on in an FA Cup final. What a

:03:49. > :03:56.goal. That is dream stuff! That is like five months of... You were 3-2

:03:57. > :04:00.ahead. We won't show the Mark Hughes equaliser that level things at 3-3

:04:01. > :04:06.and took it to a replay. Where did the suit go, Steve? Quick change

:04:07. > :04:12.just before the start, superstitious! Describe the emotions

:04:13. > :04:15.of scoring in a cup final. That was an emotional celebration. I felt

:04:16. > :04:20.tears welling up and everything. The thing that snapped me out of it was,

:04:21. > :04:24.I don't like when people bundle on top of me, so that got me to wake

:04:25. > :04:35.up! I've watched every FA Cup final since about 1970. Steve, he never

:04:36. > :04:39.picked him in the replay... He broke his leg and for six weeks we had

:04:40. > :04:43.faith healers and everything! For him to play we thought was a miracle

:04:44. > :04:48.anyway. When he scored the two goals... If I could have my time

:04:49. > :04:52.again I think I might just have started him! Two sides here tonight,

:04:53. > :04:55.Reading Crystal Palace, marvellous opportunity for one of them to get

:04:56. > :04:58.to a semifinal. Another splendid opportunity for Reading but for

:04:59. > :05:04.those tallies lads tonight, they must be getting excited. As the

:05:05. > :05:09.Premier League team you feel like favourites. The two months they have

:05:10. > :05:12.had in the Premier League has been awful. These could be a lift for

:05:13. > :05:19.them and a chance to play at Wembley in the semifinal. Reading did that

:05:20. > :05:25.last year. You mentioned Federici. If feels cruel to show it again...

:05:26. > :05:29.It's one of those, it can happen. Unfortunately it happened to him. I

:05:30. > :05:34.remember saying you've got to get the basics, you've got to get your

:05:35. > :05:38.body behind it. It's something I'm sure he will never, ever get over.

:05:39. > :05:43.It was heartbreaking watching that happened to him. Let's confirmed

:05:44. > :05:47.tonight's two teams for you. Dan Walker is pitch side.

:05:48. > :05:52.Thank you very much, let's start with the home team, Reading, who

:05:53. > :05:57.have had to make two changes. You will recognise Ali at the, an FA Cup

:05:58. > :06:02.winner with Wigan. Paul McShane is fit and back in the back four. He

:06:03. > :06:06.has missed the last two games for the home side. Michael Hector will

:06:07. > :06:10.play just in front of them in the holding role. Hal Robson-Kanu comes

:06:11. > :06:15.back. He missed a couple of matches with an Achilles problem. He is on

:06:16. > :06:20.the right-hand side of that midfield four. Matej Vydra not fit tonight.

:06:21. > :06:26.He starts on the bench, so Simon Cox makes only his third start of season

:06:27. > :06:29.for Reading. One change for Palace from their weekend defeat to

:06:30. > :06:33.Liverpool in the Premier League and that is Wayne Hennessey coming back

:06:34. > :06:37.in goal for Alan Pardew's team. They are unchanged at the back, Scott

:06:38. > :06:44.Dann is actually their joint top league scorer in the league this

:06:45. > :06:49.season. Joe Ledley slightly bigger than Mile Jedinak! The creative

:06:50. > :06:52.three in front of those two, Wilfried Zaha Kammy Yohan Cabaye and

:06:53. > :06:57.Yannick Bolasie. Emmanuel Adebayor on his own up front, with Connor

:06:58. > :06:59.Wickham out injured. Those are tonight's two teams for this FA Cup

:07:00. > :07:07.quarterfinal, Gary. Reading can boast a player with an

:07:08. > :07:10.FA Cup winners medal in the form of the home an international goalkeeper

:07:11. > :07:12.Ali Al is eager for whom playing on a Friday night holds an extra

:07:13. > :07:25.significance. -- Ali It has been perfect for me and I

:07:26. > :07:31.have enjoyed it, especially with the cup run. It has been absolutely

:07:32. > :07:38.fantastic. That is the dream, to go back to Wembley.

:07:39. > :07:47.I had my experience with Wigan when we won the FA Cup. I'm very proud to

:07:48. > :07:51.be the first Arab player to win the FA Cup. To be a Muslim, I'm very

:07:52. > :08:01.proud of that. The way I believe in my faith has given me more power to

:08:02. > :08:08.be more strong. This is my copy, I like to read it every day. I like to

:08:09. > :08:14.read a bit of the Koran before every game. It has made me more relaxed

:08:15. > :08:18.than concentrated in the game. It has helped me a lot. Every single

:08:19. > :08:24.word in the Koran is really important for me.

:08:25. > :08:34.Every Friday, every Muslim is to read this one. It gives you special

:08:35. > :08:39.things in your heart and relaxes you and gives you the power for the

:08:40. > :08:43.whole week. It is a part of my life. I pray every day five times. You

:08:44. > :08:46.wake up in the morning Kammy you do your praying and then you go back to

:08:47. > :08:53.sleep for a little bit and then you go to the training ground. I am a

:08:54. > :08:59.Muslim, I'm not drinking, not smoking, look after myself. This is

:09:00. > :09:05.one of the ways to have a good career. Friday is a special day for

:09:06. > :09:12.every Muslim. To do the prayer in the mosque every Friday after

:09:13. > :09:20.trading, everybody asks me, Ali, you have taken the shower very quick to

:09:21. > :09:26.reach the mosque! It's going to be a special Friday for myself. I will go

:09:27. > :09:34.to do Friday Brack I will come back home and have a sleep before the

:09:35. > :09:38.game. -- I will go to do Friday prayer. Hopefully we can get the

:09:39. > :09:42.result that we want and we can go to the semifinal.

:09:43. > :09:48.A big night for Ali Al-Habsi. Reading are currently in the bottom

:09:49. > :09:53.half of the Championship table. They are 14th, after an inconsistent

:09:54. > :09:56.season so far. Steve Clarke was sacked in September and replaced by

:09:57. > :10:00.Brian McDermott, who has returned for a second spell at the club.

:10:01. > :10:04.Meanwhile, Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has quite a cup pedigree,

:10:05. > :10:07.having scored the winner for Palace in their epic 4-3 semifinal win over

:10:08. > :10:16.Liverpool in 1990. 26 years ago, that, Mr Pardew. What

:10:17. > :10:21.would it mean to you to lead this Palace side to Wembley this time

:10:22. > :10:24.around? It would be a huge honour because they are a great set of

:10:25. > :10:28.players. I've really bonded to them. They have a great winning mentality.

:10:29. > :10:32.We're having a bit of a tricky spell at the moment so it would be nice to

:10:33. > :10:36.get some glory at the end of the season if it was possible. Brian,

:10:37. > :10:39.tell us about the secret to Reading's success in this

:10:40. > :10:45.competition in recent seasons. CHUCKLES

:10:46. > :10:51.Brian McDermott thinks I am Rodney in this code! Will you concentrate

:10:52. > :10:58.on your interview please! -- in this coat. I don't know, I've been lucky

:10:59. > :11:04.enough to be in 3/4-finals. Last season we got to the semifinal. --

:11:05. > :11:09.in three quarterfinals. We are looking forward to tonight. We're

:11:10. > :11:13.revelling in the occasion. A full house at the Madejski Stadium, what

:11:14. > :11:16.is not to love? It is like the Palace all-stars are back, Ian

:11:17. > :11:25.Wright, U, Mark Bright! Listen, it's nice that those guys

:11:26. > :11:30.are still involved in the club and it would be nice to have Steve

:11:31. > :11:34.involved in the club at some point. Great memories of that time. But

:11:35. > :11:38.this is a different time. But the DNA of the club hasn't changed

:11:39. > :11:41.really. We're all about rolling our sleeves up and trying to overcome

:11:42. > :11:47.the odds. As it happens tonight, we are the favourites, which is unusual

:11:48. > :11:53.for Crystal Palace. We have to learn how to deal with that. They expect a

:11:54. > :11:56.scrap, Palace. We want to play on the front foot and we want to do

:11:57. > :11:59.what we want to do and we want to make sure that our fans go home

:12:00. > :12:09.happy, that's the most important thing as far as we are concerned.

:12:10. > :12:13.All the best. Thanks, Rodders! Steve, you are at this club ten

:12:14. > :12:18.years ago and on that occasion you got promotion with 106 points. What

:12:19. > :12:25.do you make of what has happened in the last ten years? Up and down.

:12:26. > :12:30.Ownership issues. Sir John was a great chairman, for me. He brought

:12:31. > :12:39.in the Russian whose name escapes me, and now they have new Thai

:12:40. > :12:42.ownership. It's lost its direction a bit and the directional waste comes

:12:43. > :12:49.from the top. Hopefully now with a bit more ability and Brian back...

:12:50. > :12:54.He worked for you. He was my scout, he was reserve team coach, he was

:12:55. > :12:58.everything. So much commitment in the role. He wears his heart on his

:12:59. > :13:02.sleeve. He would love to do well today and get a good result. An

:13:03. > :13:06.important figure for them today will perhaps be Michael Hector in front

:13:07. > :13:13.of the back four, who played so well last year. He is a super athlete.

:13:14. > :13:16.I've seen him play at the back and in midfield. He seems to have all

:13:17. > :13:23.the attributes that you look for in that position. He obviously was a

:13:24. > :13:28.little bit surprised when Chelsea signed him, I think. Palace were

:13:29. > :13:34.actually in for him, ironically. Chelsea stole him. I think he is

:13:35. > :13:38.growing all the time. His ability is there, it's the experience he needs

:13:39. > :13:43.now. A super game for him tonight to show his talent. I know you like in

:13:44. > :13:50.that midfield as well, Steve? I do. It's been a difficult situation for

:13:51. > :13:55.him. I think that midfield role where he can see the game in front

:13:56. > :14:00.of him... His distribution is solid and physically he is a real specimen

:14:01. > :14:06.and he gets around the pitch. That's important tonight, Palace have got

:14:07. > :14:11.so many bright young players. Let's go pitch side, where Rodders is with

:14:12. > :14:21.two men who know this club well, and it's not Del Boy! Thanks,

:14:22. > :14:31.Director of U21s development at Crystal Palace. What can you say!

:14:32. > :14:36.We've heard from Alan Pardew, attitude is essential, isn't it?

:14:37. > :14:40.Yes, in any game. I think even more so tonight because Reading are the

:14:41. > :14:48.underdogs. Going into the last game against Spurs they were the

:14:49. > :14:50.underdogs. Tough game, Spurs away, and they executed their game plan

:14:51. > :14:55.really well and rode their luck a little bit, you have to say. Should

:14:56. > :14:59.be a really good game, good atmosphere. Just mindful, you know

:15:00. > :15:04.Western at the FA Cup has always been about giant killings and you

:15:05. > :15:07.don't want one tonight. Martin Kaymer you finished your career here

:15:08. > :15:11.at Reading. There's a real excitement among the fans. I always

:15:12. > :15:14.remember you saying something that Arsene Wenger said to you at

:15:15. > :15:19.Arsenal, players don't get many opportunities to win the FA Cup. Don

:15:20. > :15:24.Howe said it, it's like green bottles hanging on the wall, you

:15:25. > :15:29.might get ten good opportunities to get to Wembley, so make them count.

:15:30. > :15:31.You know what it means. This competition is still massive.

:15:32. > :15:36.Looking at Reading tonight, there is a real chance they could do it.

:15:37. > :15:39.Matej Vydra on the bench is a real blow for them because he has scored

:15:40. > :15:45.six goals are ready in this competition. With Crystal Palace,

:15:46. > :15:49.Yannick Bolasie has been frightening at times. They will fancy their

:15:50. > :15:56.chances tonight. Reading fans will really want to see an upset tonight.

:15:57. > :16:00.You look at the substitutes for Crystal Palace, lots of attacking

:16:01. > :16:07.players, just in case. We have had some games where penalties have gone

:16:08. > :16:13.against us, hopefully we could get one tonight. It feels wrong to

:16:14. > :16:18.separate Bright and Wright. Your former strike partner is up there,

:16:19. > :16:22.give him a wave! Two players I carried!

:16:23. > :16:25.LAUGHTER Crystal Palace made a major

:16:26. > :16:28.statement last summer when they signed the former Newcastle

:16:29. > :16:33.midfielder Yohan Cabaye. For a club record fee of ?10 million. We have

:16:34. > :16:34.been speaking to the French international about life at the

:16:35. > :16:45.Palace. COMMENTATOR: Cabaye! Alan Pardew has

:16:46. > :16:50.now signed you for two clubs. How important was him being here in new

:16:51. > :16:55.signing for Crystal Palace? It was very important for me. We created a

:16:56. > :17:01.very good relationship between him and me. He trusts me, I trust him.

:17:02. > :17:06.That is why it was important for me last summer to play under him. You

:17:07. > :17:10.see him on the touchline very active and he also talks to you a lot. How

:17:11. > :17:16.do you find that helps you with your game? Every time he is on the

:17:17. > :17:26.sideline to try to motivate us and he knows how to give players

:17:27. > :17:32.confidence on the pitch. The last time Palace got to an FA Cup final

:17:33. > :17:42.was 1990. Do you know much about that? Pardew was playing. Pardew and

:17:43. > :17:48.John Salako. And Mark Bright. I have seen some pictures on the wall. That

:17:49. > :17:56.I have never seen the videos. He hasn't sat you down with the VHS?

:17:57. > :18:05.Not yet! Maybe if we win... For me, to play in an FA Cup final, that is

:18:06. > :18:11.fantastic. Had the chance to win it with two teams in France, so that's

:18:12. > :18:17.very special. When you win something, you just want to win and

:18:18. > :18:20.get it again. The mistake would be to think we beat Tottenham in the

:18:21. > :18:26.last one, now we go to Reading, Championship side... That is the

:18:27. > :18:30.most dangerous. We have to be even more focused.

:18:31. > :18:38.Gifted footballer, Danny. Very gifted. I had a couple of tussles

:18:39. > :18:42.against him and saw how clever he was. I think he is a creator rather

:18:43. > :18:47.than a destroyer. A good passer of the ball, can score a goal. It was a

:18:48. > :18:51.brilliant bit of business for Palace. I preferred to see him

:18:52. > :18:56.playing in a three to see him in the final third of the pitch. He is

:18:57. > :19:02.great at this, opening up defences. As soon as he gets the ball as a

:19:03. > :19:05.forward player, you can make runs. Recently I think he hasn't quite

:19:06. > :19:09.been at the same form he was that earlier in the season. Whether that

:19:10. > :19:15.is now the tactical role he's got, a bit deeper and he doesn't quite get

:19:16. > :19:20.up the pitch as much. But he is a super talent and I would like to see

:19:21. > :19:21.him in more attacking positions. He hasn't recaptured that form from

:19:22. > :19:31.earlier in the season. Their form generally has been very

:19:32. > :19:35.different. You look at maybe the chances and not many Palace forwards

:19:36. > :19:38.have scored goals. You would have thought he would have created a lot

:19:39. > :19:43.of chances but they have not taken any. What has been missing at Palace

:19:44. > :19:46.lately? A number nine. I think earlier in the season they were

:19:47. > :19:50.getting results when they didn't really deserve them, and now they

:19:51. > :19:54.are losing positive positions when they don't really deserve to. The

:19:55. > :19:59.number nine is critical. Adebayor, for me, if healing the team together

:20:00. > :20:03.and all of a sudden they are an effective outfit. I think they have

:20:04. > :20:08.lacked a number nine all year but he is the one who can really gel them.

:20:09. > :20:13.Prior to coming to Palace he hadn't played much football. He is feeling

:20:14. > :20:15.his way in. That was his goal against Watford. Once he gets

:20:16. > :20:22.himself going, he's hard to deal with. When you mention his name,

:20:23. > :20:25.people think of him as a bit of a joke figure but you're looking at a

:20:26. > :20:29.player who should be one of the greats in the Premier League.

:20:30. > :20:35.Unfortunately for me, for whatever reason, he lost his way a bit and he

:20:36. > :20:40.has not been playing... Look, he has still got the confidence to try a

:20:41. > :20:44.rabona here. Palace have got players who can create and get the ball to

:20:45. > :20:49.him. If he is up for it, he will cause them problems tonight. They

:20:50. > :20:54.need a top Adebayor. They have had their injuries and Bolasie is just

:20:55. > :21:02.coming back and getting his form and fitness back. That is important?

:21:03. > :21:05.Definitely, they lost games when he was out and you thought by omission

:21:06. > :21:11.he must be the key. He's coming back into it now and he is superbly

:21:12. > :21:18.gifted. Great centre of gravity, from off the mark. Pace, power. You

:21:19. > :21:22.would criticise in the long term his providing of chances, the way he

:21:23. > :21:26.sets them up. But he is without a doubt the spark in the team. I think

:21:27. > :21:30.he does a lot of his best work from wider areas. I know Alan Pardew is

:21:31. > :21:34.trying to get him in a more central role but I still think his best

:21:35. > :21:41.games come when he is wide. The other thing for Palace Jason

:21:42. > :21:48.Puncheon being missing. He has been out of five weeks. He is on the

:21:49. > :21:55.bench today. That is a big plus. Who do you fancy doing? Palace, for

:21:56. > :21:59.their midfield players. Steve, where do your allegiances lie? Where is

:22:00. > :22:05.your heart and where is your head? I can't win and I can't lose! I will

:22:06. > :22:10.go with a draw! Danny? I think Reading might get something and take

:22:11. > :22:15.it to a replay. Laying for a place in the semifinals of the Emirates FA

:22:16. > :22:16.Cup. Reading against Crystal Palace. Your commentators, Mark Lawrenson

:22:17. > :22:25.and Simon Brotherton. COMMENTATOR: Good evening, Wembley

:22:26. > :22:28.just 90 minutes away. Reading hoping to get there for a second year

:22:29. > :22:35.running after pushing Arsenal all the way last year. As the Palace

:22:36. > :22:42.looking to rebuild a season that has veered alarmingly off the road. They

:22:43. > :22:45.were only in the top four on goal difference at Christmas but have

:22:46. > :22:50.slumped alarmingly to 15th in the table. Both teams nine points above

:22:51. > :22:53.their allegations own in their respective divisions, a trip to

:22:54. > :22:59.Wembley would really fire up their seasons. Reading's promotion push

:23:00. > :23:03.may have evaporated as early as the autumn but they are at it again in

:23:04. > :23:09.the FA Cup. In the quarterfinals tonight for the fourth time in seven

:23:10. > :23:11.seasons. They have already beaten Premier League opposition, 3-1

:23:12. > :24:01.winners over West Brom here in the last round.

:24:02. > :24:12.Michael Hector and able to play in a defensive midfield role. Simon Cox

:24:13. > :24:23.starting up front, just as he did in the last round. Wayne Hennessey

:24:24. > :24:28.returns in goal. It is the only change, as he goes with the

:24:29. > :24:31.strongest available line-up. Emmanuel Adebayor the focal point of

:24:32. > :24:40.the attack. Connor Wickham misses the game through injury. Among the

:24:41. > :24:46.substitutes today, the FA Cup's top scorer so far this season, Matej

:24:47. > :24:49.Vydra. And Jason Puncheon named on the bench for Palace, he has missed

:24:50. > :24:56.the last six matches with a hamstring injury. Michael Hector was

:24:57. > :25:00.a key player in Reading's fifth round win over West Brom. He has

:25:01. > :25:05.been loaned back here from Chelsea unit in at the last minute when he

:25:06. > :25:09.looked set for a move to Crystal Palace. Roy Hodgson among those in

:25:10. > :25:18.the crowd there, deep in conversation with Sir John Madejski.

:25:19. > :25:20.And Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace, scored the winning goal in both the

:25:21. > :25:32.third and fourth round before setting up the winner in round five.

:25:33. > :25:36.Mike Dean is our referee tonight. He took charge of the final back in

:25:37. > :25:43.2008 when Portsmouth beat Cardiff City by one goal to nil. We're

:25:44. > :25:49.almost ready to go. Brian McDermott, who was first wrought on to the

:25:50. > :25:52.staff at Manning by Alan Pardew, initially in chief scouting role and

:25:53. > :25:59.as the under 17 's coach but now he is the manager for a second spell.

:26:00. > :26:05.Almost ready to go here. It is Reading who will kick off. One final

:26:06. > :26:10.cheque for Mike Dean and the officials and we are under way.

:26:11. > :26:16.Familiar territory for Reading, who have done rather well in the cup in

:26:17. > :26:20.recent years, and a chance for a first word from Mark Lawrenson.

:26:21. > :26:26.Well, the thing with a Championship side is no team gives you an easy

:26:27. > :26:32.ride. It seriously is dog eat dog and Reading will make it really

:26:33. > :26:36.difficult for Crystal Palace. If the three Hind Adebayor get lots of the

:26:37. > :26:42.ball, I think they may have too much for Reading. Cabaye a key player of

:26:43. > :26:46.Crystal Palace, the club's record signing.

:26:47. > :26:57.An early touch of the ball for Zaha. McShane back in the heart of the

:26:58. > :27:02.defence already today. A mixture of youth and experience in there, the

:27:03. > :27:06.two of them combining. Jake Cooper alongside him, just 21 years of age.

:27:07. > :27:13.A first touch of the ball for Wayne Hennessey. McShane versus Adebayor

:27:14. > :27:16.will be very interesting. Bolasie goes striding forward and Cooper

:27:17. > :27:25.tries to go with him. Early threat from Palace here. Zaha showed too

:27:26. > :27:30.much of that to Cooper. They have missed the pace and directness from

:27:31. > :27:34.Bolasie. He was injured when they beat Stoke City 2-1 the week before

:27:35. > :27:39.Christmas. They didn't win at all in that time frame and he returned as a

:27:40. > :27:42.substitute in the fifth round at Tottenham. Certainly a player missed

:27:43. > :27:52.by Alan Pardew's side. Palace looking to make a bright

:27:53. > :27:57.start here. This is a beat a, one of those players rested on Tuesday

:27:58. > :27:59.night when they were beaten 3-1 by Huddersfield in the Championship. By

:28:00. > :28:11.Peter very -- Obita is very much the first

:28:12. > :28:14.choice at right back. Simon Cox playing on his own up front, just

:28:15. > :28:18.like was in the last round. That will be a big battle, and Delaney

:28:19. > :28:38.and Dann take no prisoners. McShane, rather loose, and

:28:39. > :28:43.fortuitously for Reading it fell to Stephen Quinn. Michael Hector. He

:28:44. > :28:48.was the driving force behind that fifth round win over West Bromwich

:28:49. > :28:52.Albion. Excellent second-half performance in particular. No foul,

:28:53. > :29:00.says Mike Dean. Space here for Cabaye. Ledley. He has not started

:29:01. > :29:08.terribly often in the Premier League but started every single match in

:29:09. > :29:15.the cup so far. Reading free kick, for the challenge on Quinn.

:29:16. > :29:21.Plenty of experience in this Reading side. Stephen Quinn alongside Paul

:29:22. > :29:26.McShane, both played in the cup final against Arsenal a couple of

:29:27. > :29:34.years ago. Yes. Decent on the ball, Quinn. You would never put him under

:29:35. > :29:39.that bracket, decent on the ball, Paul McShane, but he heads it and

:29:40. > :29:47.kicks it for fun. That's what he's paid to do. Ledley now, touch from

:29:48. > :29:51.Adebayor going astray. Gunter was looking for Robson-Kanu, a key

:29:52. > :29:58.player for Reading. Scored a couple of goals in the FA Cup this season.

:29:59. > :30:15.Cooper, the 21-year-old, who has come through the youth system and

:30:16. > :30:24.Reading. Started every match since the turn of the year.

:30:25. > :30:35.Brian McDermott knew him from his earlier time here. Forward by

:30:36. > :30:40.Hector, asking too much. Simon Cox has a bit of work to do, has his

:30:41. > :30:46.hands full. He will not necessarily have too much supporting close

:30:47. > :30:53.proximity. He will win nothing in the air against Delaney and Dann. He

:30:54. > :30:59.has to bring the other midfield players into the game. Hasn't

:31:00. > :31:03.started a single league game this season for Reading, but started

:31:04. > :31:07.against West Brom in the fifth round. I think we will see Matej

:31:08. > :31:15.Vydra at some point in the game. I would think so. High and long from

:31:16. > :31:20.Hector. Surprised he didn't start, if he's fit enough to be on the

:31:21. > :31:25.bench. Brian McDermott, he has led the club to the quarterfinals for

:31:26. > :31:27.the third time this year. Steered them to their first quarterfinal in

:31:28. > :31:51.83 years. Fourball by Cabaye from all people.

:31:52. > :32:02.-- poor ball back by Cabaye, of all people. Over the head of

:32:03. > :32:05.Robson-Kanu. The first few balls into the final third have been over

:32:06. > :32:10.hit by Reading so far. Debtor overhit than underhit, which would

:32:11. > :32:19.only give the ball back to the opposition. -- better overhit. The

:32:20. > :32:22.crowd getting warmed up. The crowd is nearly full now. There were

:32:23. > :32:32.plenty of empty seats five minutes before kick-off. It means the M4 is

:32:33. > :32:41.empty. It's not the easiest getting along the M25 and a longer M4 from

:32:42. > :32:47.Croydon on a Friday. -- and along the M4.

:32:48. > :32:54.Hennessey should have claimed that. We have said before about the

:32:55. > :32:57.service into Cox. It needs to be a good ball for him to bring other

:32:58. > :33:04.players in. First chance to see Ola John. Has been seeing more options

:33:05. > :33:07.in the first team in recent weeks. Shouts of a penalty from the home

:33:08. > :33:19.crowd but not from any players. Adebayor gets the free kick he was

:33:20. > :33:29.hoping for. Not quite sure, actually. Hector was a little bit

:33:30. > :33:34.strong. Here it is again, good tussle between the pair of them.

:33:35. > :33:42.Maybe a bit of holding. Maybe. Hector is the player penalised.

:33:43. > :33:48.Adebayor waits for the delivery from Yohan Cabaye on the edge of the

:33:49. > :33:54.penalty area. No surprise to see Delaney and Dann there as well.

:33:55. > :33:59.Palace score goals from set pieces. Not this time. But they have a real

:34:00. > :34:04.aerial threat and physical presence. Very much so. They have some good

:34:05. > :34:14.athletes. And that is a beard, isn't it! Yeah, it's Joe Ledley, blocking

:34:15. > :34:18.off his man. Mile Jedinak, comparing beards with Paul McShane about an

:34:19. > :34:28.hour before kick-off. He felt he went back that particular duel. Dead

:34:29. > :34:36.heat between him and Joe Ledley. Free kick for Crystal Palace. Their

:34:37. > :34:40.only victories since the turn of the year have come in the FA Cup. You

:34:41. > :34:46.would think a 9-point gap between themselves and the bottom three

:34:47. > :34:50.would be fine. I think now they have players coming back it will not be a

:34:51. > :34:55.problem. They should have beaten Liverpool. But they didn't manage

:34:56. > :35:03.the game when they had 11 against ten and were 1-0 up. That was the

:35:04. > :35:07.problem. Looking into space, but too much on it for Chris Gunter. Hector

:35:08. > :35:14.looks very comfortable on the ball. Very easy, and he has good movement

:35:15. > :35:18.around him as well. Played further forward in recent weeks by Brian

:35:19. > :35:24.McDermott. If you can play, you can play anywhere, in all honesty.

:35:25. > :35:26.Souare, he made his debut for Crystal Palace last year in FA Cup

:35:27. > :35:43.against Liverpool. Ola John, his older brother used to

:35:44. > :35:56.play for Fulham a few years ago, Collins John.

:35:57. > :36:06.They are trying to knock it around, Reading. And the pitch is better

:36:07. > :36:09.than it looks. Ten minutes into the game, nothing in it so far with

:36:10. > :36:18.neither goalkeeper required to make a save. Reading have to be so

:36:19. > :36:23.careful with the pace inside the Crystal Palace tackles the advantage

:36:24. > :36:29.played by Dean. Bolasie sends it in but nobody in the middle. Gun to not

:36:30. > :36:35.taking any chances. He was aware that Joe Ledley was nearby. It was

:36:36. > :36:39.at such breakneck speed, the breakaway from Zaha. Well done to

:36:40. > :36:43.the referee, I thought he would blow the whistle, but he let Palace play

:36:44. > :36:47.on. Palace don't have the best record against Reading in recent

:36:48. > :36:55.years, winning only one of their last 11 meetings between the two

:36:56. > :36:57.sides. Impressive window, 4-2, a few seasons ago. -- impressive win

:36:58. > :37:22.though. Cabaye takes the cake. Al-Habsi tries to get through the

:37:23. > :37:32.crowd to that one. Back to Adebayor. Away by Jordan Obita in front of the

:37:33. > :37:35.central defenders. You can see a tussle between Al-Habsi and one of

:37:36. > :37:40.the central defenders. A spot of head tennis. Jordan Obita able to

:37:41. > :37:50.head the ball away before it got to Bolasie. Al-Habsi has taken a hit in

:37:51. > :37:55.the mouth. Made his league debut in October for Reading, signed last

:37:56. > :38:21.summer. Has kept his place ever since October.

:38:22. > :38:29.Simon Cox didn't really stand much chance against Scott Dan. Gun to

:38:30. > :38:36.looks for Robson-Kanu. Could be an important player for Reading if they

:38:37. > :38:40.are to have success in this match. Defenders doubling up on him,

:38:41. > :38:47.Guenther sweeps it into the middle. Off the head of Delaney but only as

:38:48. > :38:49.far as Hector. Ledley steps in. McShane drags the ball away from

:38:50. > :39:09.Bolasie. Good play by Ola John. Blistering

:39:10. > :39:16.pace. Lovely skill. And a touch too many. How many times do you want to

:39:17. > :39:22.beat your man? Beat him the first time then whip it in. Palace had

:39:23. > :39:27.defenders running back, so by the time he beats the defender again,

:39:28. > :39:34.everybody is in there. He had a great chance to deliver the ball. He

:39:35. > :39:41.had a great chance to get it in. You can see that might be a real problem

:39:42. > :39:46.for Palace. It's the first time we have seen Ola John testing Joel

:39:47. > :39:48.Ward. I don't know why he didn't deliver them, or then, or then. But

:39:49. > :40:16.not then. That was a waste. Probably the

:40:17. > :40:24.easiest header Joe Ledley and will have all Evening. You have to make

:40:25. > :40:30.the defender work. It was far too easy.

:40:31. > :40:38.Reading haven't had a great season, but they are only nine points ahead

:40:39. > :40:41.of the relegation zone in the Championship. But Brian McDermott

:40:42. > :40:46.has steadied the ship and they are building again. Some of the players

:40:47. > :40:52.had more than half a mind onto night, and their defeat midweek was

:40:53. > :40:55.their first after a six match unbeaten run. It's fully

:40:56. > :41:01.understandable. Their form is pretty good going into this. I like the way

:41:02. > :41:06.they have set up. Get it wide and get it out there very early.

:41:07. > :41:15.Given away by Jordan Obita. He will have to be pretty fleet of foot to

:41:16. > :41:21.keep up with Zaha and Bolasie who has joined him on that side. Three

:41:22. > :41:27.waiting in the penalty area. One of them is Adebayor and Joe Ledley was

:41:28. > :41:31.at the far post going for it. I think Chris Gunter has taken a hit

:41:32. > :41:37.on the edge of the six yard box. Joe Ledley as well. Good play by Palace

:41:38. > :41:44.and Bolasie. Unlike Ola John at the other end, passed your man, half a

:41:45. > :41:48.yard, and send it in. Chris Gunter signed a new two-year Mac deal with

:41:49. > :41:54.Reading the other month. No damage done after the clash of heads.

:41:55. > :42:00.Souare sends it over. Almost falls out of the top Bolasie and Palace

:42:01. > :42:07.have a corner. -- almost falls at the feet of Bolasie. He wasn't

:42:08. > :42:17.really expecting it. Nice ball in by Souare. Good name for a Friday

:42:18. > :42:22.evening! Pape Souare was suspended for the last round after being shown

:42:23. > :42:28.a red card. In the line-up now. Cabaye once again. Once again, it's

:42:29. > :42:33.comfortably dealt with by the Reading defence. Cooper got his head

:42:34. > :42:37.on that. Mike Dean blowing on the edge of the penalty area, Reading

:42:38. > :42:45.free kick. I think Reading are complaining there was a stray elbow.

:42:46. > :42:55.Not really. Forearm, just resting on Quinn.

:42:56. > :43:01.Mile Jedinak, he's had a more limited role this season than in

:43:02. > :43:06.previous years with Palace, starting just ten games for them. Many of

:43:07. > :43:11.them have gone since the start of the year. I think the position, the

:43:12. > :43:16.way he plays in front of the back worker, it helps the like is of

:43:17. > :43:25.Puncheon, Cabaye, helps them get forward more. Flick from Bolasie and

:43:26. > :43:28.touch from Adebayor and a foot race between Zaha and Jordan Obita. This

:43:29. > :43:36.might be a recurring theme of the evening. Adebayor, he showed far too

:43:37. > :43:41.much of that Cooper. He did, but Palace's movement going forward very

:43:42. > :43:50.good. Joel Ward getting in on the act. Away from Ola John. Good ball

:43:51. > :44:00.in. Bolasie, he has to try to get across the defender. Just a little

:44:01. > :44:04.bit of waiting for it to come in. You see the difference between the

:44:05. > :44:06.two teams. The Premier League team, get in the position to cross and it

:44:07. > :44:23.comes in very early. Simon Cox looking for Hal

:44:24. > :44:28.Robson-Kanu. Away from Souare. Taken down by Norwood but the distribution

:44:29. > :44:37.wasn't quite so clever. Zaha skips away with the ball. He gets past

:44:38. > :44:44.Jordan Obita. Palace are starting to knock on the door a bit. Call me a

:44:45. > :44:48.liar, probably four or five times they have whipped the ball in from

:44:49. > :44:52.that position. It came after Reading gave the ball away under pressure.

:44:53. > :44:59.Good play from Zaha. There are two in there. Adebayor was in space.

:45:00. > :45:10.Cabaye was the first runner in. Zaha has a look as well.

:45:11. > :45:23.Bolasie. He's very strong, isn't he? For a rough, tough centre-back,

:45:24. > :45:26.McShane went over a little easily. He scored his first goal for Reading

:45:27. > :45:36.against West Brom in the fifth round, McShane. He might have just

:45:37. > :45:50.caught his foot. Looks like Haig are the horrible. -- Hagar. We've had

:45:51. > :45:58.good deliveries from corners so far, all making Reading defend. Not as

:45:59. > :46:02.successful this time and the chance for Reading to break away. Ola John

:46:03. > :46:06.goes hurtling through the middle. Joel Ward is underneath it, right

:46:07. > :46:16.place and right time for Crystal Palace. Souare. Good dummy! He kept

:46:17. > :46:27.everyone guessing for a moment there. The crowd really went for it.

:46:28. > :46:41.Souare, more sure-footed this time. Blame the pitch!

:46:42. > :46:51.You have to play on in this game. If the referee doesn't blow his

:46:52. > :47:00.whistle, it's good to keep playing. You have to be strong. Championship

:47:01. > :47:21.team. What a mistake. Came off his right shin. Almost had a Mulligan.

:47:22. > :47:36.Adebayor got the better of McShane there. Wasn't a bad ball. First time

:47:37. > :47:44.they have really played the ball in behind. We certainly have a good

:47:45. > :47:52.setting for this quarterfinal, the Madejski under lights by the M4.

:47:53. > :47:57.Only takes you two hours to get out! Needs a goal to be fully rocking

:47:58. > :48:04.tonight. They will be quite happy with the start they have made, Brian

:48:05. > :48:12.McDermott. Been competitive. Midway through the first half. Here comes

:48:13. > :48:19.Wilfried Zaha for some treatment. Might be a contact lens, some blood,

:48:20. > :48:21.I'm not sure. Looks as though it might have been a finger in the eye

:48:22. > :48:32.or something. Jedinak is down under pressure.

:48:33. > :48:37.Nothing doing from the referee. Away come Reading, the Championship side,

:48:38. > :48:45.the only Championship team still left in the FA Cup. Crystal Palace

:48:46. > :48:53.are still down to ten at the moment. But out of play and Zaha comes back

:48:54. > :49:01.on. Looking bright so far, he has massive ability. He and Bolasie have

:49:02. > :49:09.that unpredictability about them. On a good day it's great, on a bad day,

:49:10. > :49:17.its woeful. Souare complaining he got an elbow in his ribs. Looks like

:49:18. > :49:23.sympathy is in short supply. And he's limping as well. Reading get on

:49:24. > :49:29.with the game. Straightforward ball for Hennessey, who hasn't been

:49:30. > :49:34.tested yet. A change of gear. There is a nice flow about Palace moving

:49:35. > :49:38.forward. Bolasie combines beautifully with Zaha. I think it

:49:39. > :49:44.took a bobble before he took the shot. What a great break, very good

:49:45. > :49:48.from the front three. At pace, very difficult to defend against. Change

:49:49. > :49:53.of pace from Zaha. Good play from Bolasie. Thought he would play in

:49:54. > :49:56.Adebayor and go right rather than left. In terms of getting up the

:49:57. > :50:09.pitch quickly, very good. Cabaye provides once again. Mike

:50:10. > :50:14.Dean isn't happy with something. Plenty for the referee to keep his

:50:15. > :50:21.eye on in the penalty area, as ever. I think he's having a word with

:50:22. > :50:29.Cooper. It's Chris Gunter and Jedinak.

:50:30. > :50:35.It's funny, the referee has a word with everyone, the next corner comes

:50:36. > :50:42.in, and guess what happens? Groundhog Day. Ola John with a

:50:43. > :50:49.chance to sprint over the halfway line. Plenty of Palace players back

:50:50. > :50:54.behind the ball quickly. Not so many in blue and white moving forward.

:50:55. > :50:58.Now they are forward. Robson-Kanu, who we haven't seen too much of in

:50:59. > :51:06.the first half. He settles for a corner. It's interesting how quick

:51:07. > :51:10.the Palace players got back, rather than Reading players getting

:51:11. > :51:14.forward. Reading's first corner of the game. Up until now Palace have

:51:15. > :51:25.been more threatening. Yes, most definitely. Without making the

:51:26. > :51:31.goalkeeper made a save. Norwood, Northern Ireland international. It's

:51:32. > :51:35.drilled in, and McShane almost in with an opportunity on goal. Good

:51:36. > :51:45.corner, things in with his right foot. -- pinged in. It's a free

:51:46. > :51:52.header. McShane was entitled to have a little look. It nearly fell kindly

:51:53. > :52:02.for him. It was Hector heading down from the corner.

:52:03. > :52:16.Souare forgot the ball. Again. Reading are the top scorers in the

:52:17. > :52:22.FA Cup so far this season with 14. Yet to threaten really. They must

:52:23. > :52:28.have whacked somebody. They had a replay against Huddersfield, two in

:52:29. > :52:31.the first game, five in the replay, four against Walsall and three

:52:32. > :52:38.against West Brom. They played very well against West Brom. Actor trying

:52:39. > :52:48.to put it away. He has been penalised for a high boot. -- Hector

:52:49. > :52:58.trying. Fans trying to say it was boot high rather than head low.

:52:59. > :53:05.Looks aggrieved. Quietly simmering. Bit like the game. Dave Beasant, the

:53:06. > :53:09.goalkeeping coach at Reading these days. Was the first goalkeeper to

:53:10. > :53:11.save a penalty in the FA Cup final when Wimbledon beat Liverpool. I

:53:12. > :53:23.don't remember that! Cabaye, looking to delve into his

:53:24. > :53:30.box of tricks. Difficult to know, do you shoot from there, a long way

:53:31. > :53:34.out? Yes. You do, and you bring out a good save from Ali Al-Habsi. I

:53:35. > :53:39.think he made the save more difficult than it needed to be. It's

:53:40. > :53:42.not going in the postage stamp, is it? Probably saw it a bit late, but

:53:43. > :54:00.he saved it. Al-Habsi, in the concentrated Crouch

:54:01. > :54:05.of a pose. Bolasie trying to go in on the goalkeeper. Jordan Obita

:54:06. > :54:15.trying to get between the two. First bad corner, set piece, that Cabaye

:54:16. > :54:19.has taken. Bolasie! IRONIC CHEERS The Palace fans thought it had gone

:54:20. > :54:27.in at the far end, as you can imagine. Good reaction from Bolasie.

:54:28. > :54:32.Kicked in by Scott Dann. Decent effort on the turn from Bolasie,

:54:33. > :54:37.getting his shot in before Jordan Obita can make the block. It has

:54:38. > :54:44.woken up the Palace fans away to our right.

:54:45. > :54:52.Good touch on Simon Cox. Closed down quickly by Jedinak. That's a foul

:54:53. > :54:57.all the time. I think he wanted to try to play on. He wanted the

:54:58. > :55:06.advantage but there wasn't one. The referee is doing all right. Simon

:55:07. > :55:13.Cox is due a goal. I thought you were going to say the referee is due

:55:14. > :55:20.a goal! What a night to get one it would be. He's another player who

:55:21. > :55:28.came out of non-league, Simon Cox, was he not? What can Reading do with

:55:29. > :55:30.this? Almost been playing half an hour. Norwood sends it to the far

:55:31. > :55:44.post. Jedinak was always in control. We

:55:45. > :55:48.have not had the chance to see more from Ola John in this first half

:55:49. > :55:55.after the one exciting early run. Might be a booking. It is a booking,

:55:56. > :56:02.for Hector, who is getting hot under the collar. He is, yeah. Just pulled

:56:03. > :56:12.back a player, has to be careful. Can't really play football when your

:56:13. > :56:18.head is on fire. Michael Hector was very nearly a Crystal Palace player.

:56:19. > :56:22.All set to move to Selhurst Park last summer. On the day he thought

:56:23. > :56:28.he would join, Chelsea got in touch. He was a Chelsea fan as a youngster.

:56:29. > :56:34.Ledley... Yannick Bolasie with the follow-up shot. As a Chelsea fan,

:56:35. > :56:38.Hector said there was me one choice to make, it was done at the last

:56:39. > :56:44.minute, signed up by Chelsea, and then back at Reading for the season

:56:45. > :56:49.on loan. Nothing to do with the money. Two chances, Ledley, a bit

:56:50. > :57:00.unlucky. Bounce Tommy Armour, thought he would be injured. Bolasie

:57:01. > :57:03.with the shot. Bolasie, desperate to get back to Wembley. Missed out on

:57:04. > :57:09.the Championship play-off final, an unused substitute that game. --

:57:10. > :57:27.bounced off his arm. The service hasn't been great. They

:57:28. > :57:38.do play rugby union on this pitch as well. Is it London Irish? They are

:57:39. > :57:40.in the United States in New York at the moment, giving the pitch a

:57:41. > :58:02.breather. Palace are looking to become the

:58:03. > :58:07.first side to beat Reading here since the turn of the year, nine

:58:08. > :58:26.unbeaten at home. They are holding Palace off at the moment.

:58:27. > :58:36.Joel Ward is joining in the attack and Adebayor wants it and gets it.

:58:37. > :58:39.Away by McShane. A little bit unfortunate. You could see what

:58:40. > :58:46.Adebayor was trying to do. Cox has got the better of Delaney. He has

:58:47. > :58:52.very little support. Quinn has two chase after it on the far side. It

:58:53. > :58:57.all fizzles out for Reading. For a moment Delaney was in trouble. Cox

:58:58. > :59:04.did absolutely fantastic. In the end, that was a waste for Reading,

:59:05. > :59:10.certainly. Mike Dean just having a word with Delaney on the edge of the

:59:11. > :59:17.penalty area. Don't see a lot wrong with that.

:59:18. > :59:34.Momentarily won back by Ola John. Zaha faced with Jordan Obita.

:59:35. > :59:38.Frustrating, isn't he? Just has the ability, Zaha, to ghost past people

:59:39. > :59:41.and make it look really simple, and then he goes and gives the ball

:59:42. > :59:49.away. The easiest thing is to pass it easy. Sometimes as players, he

:59:50. > :59:55.doesn't realise how much ability he has, which is why he has gone back

:59:56. > :00:01.to Palace after being at Manchester United. Zaha is racking up some

:00:02. > :00:16.appearances, still only 23 years of age. Still has the chance to learn.

:00:17. > :00:29.Forward by Gunter. Now it's Reading's turn to move the ball

:00:30. > :00:37.around. Ricochets away off Joe Ledley. Hector losing out and now

:00:38. > :00:44.it's Adebayor and it could open up here! Adebayor brings a save from

:00:45. > :00:54.Ali Al-Habsi. McShane straining every sinew to try to make the plot.

:00:55. > :00:58.Al-Habsi did well. You knew Adebayor was going for the far corner but the

:00:59. > :01:10.pressure from Paul McShane made all the difference. Ten minutes to go to

:01:11. > :01:20.half-time here. Al-Habsi looking less than comfortable on the goal

:01:21. > :01:25.line. Header away by Robson-Kanu. Reading camped around their own

:01:26. > :01:42.penalty area here. Souare getting forward. McShane was waiting. Just

:01:43. > :01:48.held back by Joe Ledley, John. Just gives Reading a bit of time to have

:01:49. > :01:52.a breather. Roy Hodgson taking the game in, alongside Sir John

:01:53. > :01:55.Madejski, the chairman of Reading these days. He doesn't own the club

:01:56. > :02:11.any more, does he? Just a fan. Here comes Quinn. Just tumbling away

:02:12. > :02:15.from the goal from the second it left his boot. That man cox again,

:02:16. > :02:29.starting to grow into the game. Not too much for Reading to get

:02:30. > :02:50.excited about so far. Here is Adebayor. Away by Gunter.

:02:51. > :02:57.Three things to point your way coming up on the BBC. Football Focus

:02:58. > :03:03.first up at ten past 12 tomorrow on BBC One. Then more live action from

:03:04. > :03:06.the FA Cup. Everton against Chelsea from 20 past five. Then we have the

:03:07. > :03:12.draw for the semifinals which will take place during The One Show on

:03:13. > :03:19.Monday at around 20 past seven. That is a big game, isn't it? Everton

:03:20. > :03:25.Chelsea. For both teams. It is, particularly with Chelsea's exit

:03:26. > :03:30.from the Champions League. He's not a new owner at Everton because he

:03:31. > :03:34.owns less than 50%, but the new investor. Robson-Kanu now with the

:03:35. > :03:46.chance to take on Souare. John heads to the far post. Given away. Nor

:03:47. > :04:04.Gunter. Ola John! The best effort from Reading so far. They will get a

:04:05. > :04:09.corner. Just look at Hennessey. When the ball eventually comes to Ola

:04:10. > :04:17.John, Hennessey is rooted, absolutely rooted.

:04:18. > :04:24.Ola John certainly a player in good form. He's scored in two of their

:04:25. > :04:28.last three matches, including a cracker against Huddersfield here.

:04:29. > :04:34.He's in no hurry, he knows what he wants and he knows what he's doing.

:04:35. > :04:41.Here come Reading again, McShane in a real tussle! Hector tries to blast

:04:42. > :04:51.it. Zaha will Claye. A good block by Palace. McShane has been a threat in

:04:52. > :04:57.the penalty area a handful of times in the first half.

:04:58. > :05:14.Touch from Bolasie, loose. It isn't really a pitch for one touch, is it?

:05:15. > :05:31.Quinn, away from the traffic and into space, Jordan Obita now with

:05:32. > :05:39.space to run into. Ola John just ahead of him inside and Simon Cox in

:05:40. > :05:44.the centre as well. Cabaye closed him down well. Palace have worked

:05:45. > :05:58.really hard going backwards as well, haven't they?

:05:59. > :06:07.He just dragged that out. One step over too many. The crowd complaining

:06:08. > :06:11.that we could see that from the other side of the stadium. Just

:06:12. > :06:17.going into the last five minutes of this first half now. I just think

:06:18. > :06:22.Reading have coped really well with Palace. Palace have loved the team

:06:23. > :06:26.more likely to score, a couple of good opportunities and good saves

:06:27. > :06:28.from Ali Al-Habsi, but Reading still very much in the game. Jedinak

:06:29. > :06:35.looking for Bolasie. Up towards Simon Cox. Ola John

:06:36. > :07:04.sprinting clear ahead of him. Gunter has gone ahead. Quinn will

:07:05. > :07:13.chase. Hennessey made an absolute mess of that! Ola John can't get it

:07:14. > :07:17.inside the post. Just have a look on the replay. He's a little surprised

:07:18. > :07:24.the ball has dropped to him. I don't know what Hennessey is trying to do.

:07:25. > :07:28.Look where Quinn is. You will probably see it here. If you look

:07:29. > :07:34.where Quinn is coming he takes up a great position. I want to say if you

:07:35. > :07:36.look where Quinn is... You might seem on this one. He's just there.

:07:37. > :07:57.Play him in! Has played well in the cup so far,

:07:58. > :08:02.Hennessey. Made a couple of good saves against Harry Kane in the last

:08:03. > :08:05.round. He had that blip in January, mistakes against Aston Villa and Man

:08:06. > :08:14.City that the manager picked up on. Cabaye with the shot! Very, very

:08:15. > :08:20.unlucky. Split-second decision. Just a little too much outside the boot

:08:21. > :08:27.but otherwise that was 1-0. It would have been a goal out of nothing. It

:08:28. > :08:29.was a lovely piece of improvisation from Cabaye. Very nearly leading to

:08:30. > :08:53.the opening goal. The last couple of minutes of the

:08:54. > :09:02.first half. Not expecting too much added time, a minute or so. Cabaye

:09:03. > :09:06.left limping after a challenge. Ledley first time, Yannick Bolasie,

:09:07. > :09:18.I Lamela is for Reading here! Good save! Ledley fluffs his lines. --

:09:19. > :09:21.alarm bells for Reading here. Bolasie did the classic thing,

:09:22. > :09:28.slowed his man down, went past him. You kind of think he's taken

:09:29. > :09:32.unawares, but he's in the middle of the six yard box, you should be

:09:33. > :09:39.expecting the ball to come to you. It came back at Joe Ledley pretty

:09:40. > :09:46.sharpish, there. Good save by Ali Al-Habsi. The rebound may be not

:09:47. > :09:54.quite as much of a good chance as I initially thought. Good sighting at

:09:55. > :09:59.goal for Joe Ledley, though. Well, is a left-sided midfielder... There

:10:00. > :10:09.are a couple of blokes in the studio who would have scored that! Mind

:10:10. > :10:15.you, they are both in their 50s. Here is Bolasie again, in the thick

:10:16. > :10:20.of it. Crystal Palace finishing the first half strongly here. Inside the

:10:21. > :10:25.last minute of the opening 45. Joel Ward goes down and it is a way of

:10:26. > :10:30.either boot of Quinn. Hal Robson-Kanu can't find Ola John.

:10:31. > :10:38.Again Crystal Palace working hard. This is Adebayor on the near side.

:10:39. > :10:40.Certainly keeping McShane busy. Like a boxer holding him at arm's-length

:10:41. > :10:46.dubbed yellow he was. -- like a boxer holding him at

:10:47. > :10:59.arm's-length. He concedes the free kick. I think

:11:00. > :11:04.Palace will feel that last chance should have gone in and they should

:11:05. > :11:08.be in front at half-time. We've just about had our 45 minutes now for

:11:09. > :11:15.this first half, and just one additional minute.

:11:16. > :11:21.Little to choose between the two. More threat from Crystal Palace in

:11:22. > :11:23.this first half but Reading still very much in the tight. No doubt

:11:24. > :11:49.about it whatsoever. The last 30 seconds of added time.

:11:50. > :12:00.Gunter was looking for Zaha. He has had quite a tough first half, Jordan

:12:01. > :12:04.Obita. Souare underneath this. If Simon Cox had been running forward

:12:05. > :12:07.there, that would have been interesting. Scott Dann looking for

:12:08. > :12:14.Yannick Bolasie, the last few seconds before the break. Bolasie a

:12:15. > :12:16.little overenthusiastic. He just bears down on you all pace and

:12:17. > :12:26.power. He is a real handful. Mike Dean blows the half-time

:12:27. > :12:33.whistle. All square at the break and Brian McDermott's Championship side

:12:34. > :12:36.very much in this FA Cup tie. A good chance for Joe Ledley shortly before

:12:37. > :12:41.half-time and Yannick Bolasie causing also to problems as well,

:12:42. > :12:45.including hitting the side netting. A saver or two from Ali Al-Habsi. At

:12:46. > :12:50.the other end the real threat has come from Ola John on a couple of

:12:51. > :12:55.occasions, his best effort into the side netting as well. A full house

:12:56. > :12:57.here and at half-time all to play for in this quarterfinal of the FA

:12:58. > :13:05.Cup. 0-0. Many more beards than goals! Overall

:13:06. > :13:12.there were a few opportunities and Palace probably slightly edged it? I

:13:13. > :13:18.would be a bit disappointed going in there not to have taken a couple of

:13:19. > :13:27.those for Palace. From that point of view, they put Reading under

:13:28. > :13:30.pressure. Bolasie, Zaha. Overall, as you would expect, Crystal Palace

:13:31. > :13:35.have better players, don't they, Steve? Yes, and in 45 minutes they

:13:36. > :13:39.have had the better chances, but to be fair to Reading, they have hung

:13:40. > :13:43.in there and they have now made it a 45 minute game, which has to be the

:13:44. > :13:47.number one target when you're playing better opposition. Brian

:13:48. > :13:51.will be quite happy. They've had chances as well. This could go

:13:52. > :13:55.either way. It could. I would like to see Reading be a bit braver and

:13:56. > :13:59.get a few more players up to join Simon Cox a bit more and maybe try

:14:00. > :14:04.and get a goal. Steve shaking his head at that, not sure? You can't

:14:05. > :14:10.just sit and wait to get beat. With the personnel, they don't really

:14:11. > :14:18.have the creativity. If Matej Vydra comes on for half an hour... The

:14:19. > :14:20.substitutes might change things. Hennessey has only really had one

:14:21. > :14:24.thing to do and he is nervous and they have not put him under any kind

:14:25. > :14:30.of pressure. Crystal Palace have certainly had a couple of decent

:14:31. > :14:36.opportunities. I think when you look at Palace, you expect them to have

:14:37. > :14:41.that, with Bolasie ends Saha doing their stuff. -- Bolasie and Zaha. He

:14:42. > :14:46.could have lifted their body was running out of space. Once he gets

:14:47. > :14:51.in self going, you can see he's going to get it onto his right foot.

:14:52. > :14:56.Highbury, you would have buried that in the far corner! Do you not think

:14:57. > :14:59.he waited a little bit too long? I think he's trying to be a bit

:15:00. > :15:04.precise because he's a bit rusty but it was a good effort. This was a

:15:05. > :15:09.good effort as well. He's hit the target. It has come back a bit quick

:15:10. > :15:12.at Ledley. He's hit the target. You don't want to get to a point where

:15:13. > :15:18.you start to get anxious because you're getting these chances and not

:15:19. > :15:22.scoring them. Palace have played decent by half-time. It comes back

:15:23. > :15:26.to him on his wrong foot. We've seen Palace do this they love, play well

:15:27. > :15:31.at times in games and not score the goals. It has been their main

:15:32. > :15:35.problem this season, strike is not scoring goals. The threat from

:15:36. > :15:42.Reading, if there has been won, has been down the left with Ola John.

:15:43. > :15:49.Both wide players. I know Alan had a lot of respect for the width that

:15:50. > :15:54.Reading had and he was setting up in the week for trying to double up in

:15:55. > :15:57.these situations. Tremendous skill here and he just over complicates.

:15:58. > :16:04.People in the middle waiting for it to come in. It's one of those... You

:16:05. > :16:09.thought they would do this a lot more often, just it in there. Will

:16:10. > :16:13.Wilfried Zaha, he might not want to get back with him, so he can have a

:16:14. > :16:19.go at Joel Ward if they get the ball to him. He has the beating of him,

:16:20. > :16:23.that is for sure. He's been the real threat for Reading. He's got quick

:16:24. > :16:26.feet and he likes to get in the final third. He could have done

:16:27. > :16:31.better with that. He just ranks it a bit. Just doesn't quite get it out

:16:32. > :16:36.of his feet. He is the one who can cause Palace real danger, I feel.

:16:37. > :16:42.They've had a lot of problems with their goalkeepers, Palace. Between

:16:43. > :16:45.him and McCarthy, I remember Alan Pardew saying at one stage he is

:16:46. > :16:51.going to have to have a look at them, he might have to change them

:16:52. > :16:56.around. Crystal Palace have a threat down their right hand side. A lot of

:16:57. > :17:00.good play has come down that right-hand side, partly because of

:17:01. > :17:04.Ola John being so high up, it gives them freedom down there to isolate

:17:05. > :17:07.the full-back. Of course Bolasie being in a central role, he's

:17:08. > :17:12.drifting all over. This is him popping up on the right. The final

:17:13. > :17:17.ball, his touch let him down a bit and he has played that blind really,

:17:18. > :17:22.he hasn't had a look. Zaha is always a threat. He can cause anyone

:17:23. > :17:26.problems with that pace and directness. He feeds Bolasie again.

:17:27. > :17:33.Again it's about the quality into the box. This one is a better ball

:17:34. > :17:37.and good defending at the back post. What you want is to make sure that

:17:38. > :17:41.when they do that, people like Adebayor, you want him to be getting

:17:42. > :17:48.right up there quicker and Bolasie, get up there quicker. This cross is

:17:49. > :17:53.just got too much on it. It's just got a little too much on it. It's

:17:54. > :17:58.like the cross from Bolasie, you just want him to slow down a bit and

:17:59. > :18:04.wait for somebody. Bolasie is quite hit and miss, isn't he? Yes but you

:18:05. > :18:08.just go with that because he is so powerful and he can create so much

:18:09. > :18:12.for the team. The wide players from both sides have been the most

:18:13. > :18:15.creative parts of the game. Palace are without doubt one of the best

:18:16. > :18:20.counterattacking teams in the country and that is why they have

:18:21. > :18:23.had such good away form. Possibly his wrong side. He will get in

:18:24. > :18:28.situations, he will spread people right across the line and in

:18:29. > :18:32.one-on-one situations you just don't want to be there. At the moment they

:18:33. > :18:36.just haven't had the final ball. Lots of possibilities but that

:18:37. > :18:46.killer final ball which has always been the Palace fans's criticism of

:18:47. > :18:50.Bolasie and Zaha... Steve, you've managed both these sides. What would

:18:51. > :18:54.you say to the various teams now if you were in there? For Palace, you

:18:55. > :18:58.couldn't ask for them to do anything differently because that is just

:18:59. > :19:03.their make up, that is the way they play, their DNA. It's all about

:19:04. > :19:07.counterattacking, quick. I personally would get the ball to

:19:08. > :19:11.Zaha, because when he spreads the play out wide and isolates Jordan

:19:12. > :19:17.Obita, it opens up space for everybody else. For Reading? Hang on

:20:43. > :21:00.an Evertonian! I remember going to my mum's and

:21:01. > :21:06.there had been a bit of speculation and I said I had signed for Everton

:21:45. > :21:48.and there was razzmatazz, but from our point of view we had to win it.

:21:49. > :21:54.The support was galvanising. COMMENTATOR: The cross headed half

:21:55. > :21:59.away and Stephen's shot and it's a goal for Everton! Sometimes you have

:22:00. > :22:05.to dig things out and we had an art of bigging things out. Graham Sharpe

:22:48. > :22:55.Great man, great player. Love Peter Reid. We should have played

:22:56. > :23:00.together! One of the real characters of the game. And a real player. He

:23:01. > :23:03.didn't look comfortable in possession but he very rarely gave

:23:04. > :23:07.the ball away and he trundled around the pitch and made a real impact

:23:08. > :23:12.every game. You would have enjoyed watching that Everton team as you

:23:13. > :23:18.grew up? I enjoyed the 86 final! I did for about an hour! That was one

:23:19. > :23:26.of my early memories. That was a great Everton side. We start early

:23:27. > :23:35.with Everton tomorrow. We are then back for the live match at 5:20pm on

:23:36. > :23:42.BBC One. The draw for the semifinals will be on The One Show on Monday

:23:43. > :23:49.evening. Cricket's World Twenty20 gets under way in India and you can

:23:50. > :23:50.watch highlights on the website. Let's rejoin Dan, who is hovering

:23:51. > :23:59.pitch side. Hovering pitch side with Mr Martin

:24:00. > :24:02.Keown. You saw the first half on the level the management will be

:24:03. > :24:06.watching this. The guys in the studio saying Reading are very much

:24:07. > :24:10.in this game, which they are, at 0-0. How can they win it in the

:24:11. > :24:15.second half? I'd like to see a bit more commitment on the flanks.

:24:16. > :24:21.Gunter did well down there and the crowd were really lifted by it. Go

:24:22. > :24:24.and test your opponent. We've seen Leicester in the Premier League,

:24:25. > :24:29.it's the year of the giant-killing, why not Reading to night? They've

:24:30. > :24:32.got to go and win it. They've got to test their opponents. But I feel

:24:33. > :24:37.it's only a matter of time for Palace to school on the break. But

:24:38. > :24:41.it's difficult, Hector is on a booking and they have to make sure

:24:42. > :24:45.they don't get undone by a very good Palace team. That's the problem,

:24:46. > :24:50.that risk and reward. Palace so quick and so good coming forward.

:24:51. > :24:54.Test them. On this right side we've got nearly 100 caps, the two Welsh

:24:55. > :25:00.boys. I think they are good enough to test them. Jordan Obita and Ola

:25:01. > :25:04.John on the left as well, get forward and believe in yourself. You

:25:05. > :25:08.have to dream in football. They will go for it in the second half,

:25:09. > :25:13.surely. Maybe they were holding off and now they will really go for it

:25:14. > :25:17.and Matej Vydra could come on? I believe Matej Vydra is the man and

:25:18. > :25:19.I'm sure Brian will contemplate bringing him on. He's scored six

:25:20. > :25:27.goals in this competition already and he could be the man to win it

:25:28. > :25:34.for Reading. The players of the future here. Oscar, one chance! In

:25:35. > :25:39.off the post! A magical goal. We hope for a view more of those in the

:25:40. > :25:46.second half. Great goal but those youngsters, don't bother to close to

:25:47. > :25:49.Martin Keown, he could turn round and whack you! Here is the story so

:25:50. > :26:02.far. Wembley, then, just 90 minutes away.

:26:03. > :26:08.A good save from Ali Al-Habsi. Now Adebayor! Adebayor brings a save

:26:09. > :26:15.from Al-Habsi. Hennessy has made an absolute mess of that! Bolasie for

:26:16. > :26:19.Palace! Good save, and Ledley! Fluffs his lines.

:26:20. > :26:27.No goals so far at the Madejski Stadium. There it is, bathed in the

:26:28. > :26:34.floodlights. I think Palace have got to be careful not to not take their

:26:35. > :26:39.chances. They need to take one of these chances. Matej Vydra is

:26:40. > :26:46.waiting to come on. It could be a massive time for someone to become a

:26:47. > :26:50.cult hero. The last five times these two teams have played there have

:26:51. > :26:54.been 24 goals! I was loathe to say it before kick-off, but I'm saying

:26:55. > :27:00.it now. Simon Brotherton and Mark Lawrenson, it's all yours.

:27:01. > :27:09.COMMENTATOR: Thanks, Gary. I had that stat as well and I was also

:27:10. > :27:13.resisting mentioning it! A former FA Cup tie between these two required

:27:14. > :27:20.to read place. We can't get that this time. The winners through to

:27:21. > :27:25.the semifinals and a place at Wembley. No changes made by either

:27:26. > :27:29.manager at half-time. The team News tonight for Crystal Palace, just the

:27:30. > :27:30.one change from last weekend from the Liverpool match, Wayne Hennessey

:27:31. > :27:38.returning indole. -- returning in goal. Crystal Palace

:27:39. > :27:52.get as under way in this second half. Bolasie looking for Souare on

:27:53. > :28:03.the far side. Forward by Jedinak. Souare in. Away by the boot of Paul

:28:04. > :28:09.McShane. That is unlikely a bit for Reading, the ball laid over the top

:28:10. > :28:13.four Simon Cox, just drifting out. Simon Cox given the nod up front by

:28:14. > :28:17.Brian McDermott again tonight, just as he was in the last round, despite

:28:18. > :28:22.the fact that he has not started at all in the league for Reading this

:28:23. > :28:29.season. The thing about that is that he might only last 65, 70 minutes. A

:28:30. > :28:33.good chance we might see Matej Vydra, the FA Cup's top scorer, at

:28:34. > :28:44.some point in the second half. I would have thought so.

:28:45. > :29:00.They have been good on the road in the FA Cup in the last couple of

:29:01. > :29:05.years. They have won five of their last six ties away from Selhurst

:29:06. > :29:06.Park. They have certainly carried the greater threat so far in this

:29:07. > :29:31.game. He has got into two crossing

:29:32. > :29:39.positions at the start of the first half but neither ball has been

:29:40. > :29:43.particularly good, delivery wise. He wasn't playing anywhere in the first

:29:44. > :29:46.part of the season but has been able to get up to speed pretty quickly

:29:47. > :29:50.for Crystal Palace since his arrival. In all honesty, he looks

:29:51. > :29:52.fit, doesn't he? I thought he would struggle. Crunching challenge from

:29:53. > :30:09.Cooper. He's never going to change his mind,

:30:10. > :30:18.is he? The referee. He has followed through on him a little bit, hasn't

:30:19. > :30:25.he? An opportunity for Yohan Cabaye perhaps to cause a few problems.

:30:26. > :30:27.This is virtually the same as the one he had in the first half, isn't

:30:28. > :30:46.it? Distance, absolutely everything. Cabaye income ahead on by Dann! By

:30:47. > :30:50.think a cool head by Paul McShane to allow it to bounce to the

:30:51. > :30:55.goalkeeper. I think you did brilliantly. He thought about

:30:56. > :30:56.launching it and in that time, I think Al-Habsi said something. Give

:30:57. > :31:10.him the benefit of the doubt. Ironic cheers greeting the decision

:31:11. > :31:16.to give the home side the free kick. Where is Cox going to go? He's on

:31:17. > :31:23.the halfway line and 40 metres from your goal. Scott Dann is the joint

:31:24. > :31:30.top scorer for Palace this season with Connor Wickham and Yohan

:31:31. > :31:37.Cabaye, all on five. Ball in from Jordan Obita. Away by Jedinak.

:31:38. > :31:46.Adebayor, showing nice control of the ball this evening. Zaha up

:31:47. > :31:50.against Jordan Obita. It will be a Crystal Palace throw. Good play from

:31:51. > :31:55.Jordan Obita, keeping his eyes on the ball rather than the movement of

:31:56. > :32:12.Zaha. The ball doesn't move, Zaha's feet do.

:32:13. > :32:19.Quinn was almost in there for Palace. Challenged by Jedinak. Poor

:32:20. > :32:55.ball from Dann. No chance for Jedinak.

:32:56. > :33:05.Has to be careful, just play the ball. If it's a foul, the referee

:33:06. > :33:14.will still give it. Why ask, if he's not given it? Alan Pardew's first

:33:15. > :33:20.match as Crystal Palace manager came in the FA Cup last season. At Dover,

:33:21. > :33:26.Scott Dann scored a couple of goals in a 4-0 victory for Palace. They

:33:27. > :33:33.will want him to be a threat on set plays in the second half. You would

:33:34. > :33:41.say given the mess at Newcastle at the moment, Pardew got out at the

:33:42. > :33:47.right time. Palace on the front foot at the moment. The assistant

:33:48. > :33:52.couldn't see for a pile of bodies, in fairness to him. Don't mention

:33:53. > :34:11.assistants to Crystal Palace! Certainly don't mention them to

:34:12. > :34:28.Damien Delaney after the weekend. And Alan Pardew as well. In front of

:34:29. > :34:32.the wrong supporters at this end. Dann full of movement and McShane

:34:33. > :34:36.following him everywhere into the heart of the penalty area. Behind

:34:37. > :34:52.for another corner. Well defended by Reading.

:34:53. > :35:04.Mike Dean says, hang on a minute. Here we go. This is fine, but we had

:35:05. > :35:09.it in the first half. When it keeps happening, what's the point? Simon

:35:10. > :35:18.Cox was the player being spoken to there. Zaha ended up pulling him

:35:19. > :35:28.into the net, did he not? In from Cabaye as well. Stooping header away

:35:29. > :35:32.from Cooper. He has been strong, resolute and pretty cool-headed so

:35:33. > :35:35.far, the 21-year-old at the heart of the Reading defence. Slip from

:35:36. > :35:42.Souare. Opening the door for Reading. Swept forward by Quinn. Not

:35:43. > :35:50.enough on the past to find its way to the nearside. -- on the pass.

:35:51. > :35:57.Damien Delaney gives it a good, old-fashioned thump. Adebayor

:35:58. > :36:07.offside. Although, referee, play on. Here come Reading. -- all gone, --

:36:08. > :36:21.all What have you made of Jordan Obita?

:36:22. > :36:30.He's an absolutely fine. It's a tough lesson for him to night. He's

:36:31. > :36:38.done very well. Just learning at that age, every single game. Cooper

:36:39. > :36:43.enjoying a good run in the Reading side. He played in every match since

:36:44. > :36:47.the start of the year. Scored his first goal against Sheffield

:36:48. > :36:52.Wednesday a few months back in a drawer. The atmosphere is starting

:36:53. > :37:00.to build and the noise we can hear at the moment is predominantly

:37:01. > :37:04.coming from the Crystal Palace fans. And they always provide a great

:37:05. > :37:11.atmosphere at Selhurst Park. Cabaye with a dangerous ball in, and what a

:37:12. > :37:16.save! It was Jedinak who was almost in there. Ali Al-Habsi to the rescue

:37:17. > :37:24.for Reading. It was all about reaction, this. He has moved his

:37:25. > :37:32.feet extremely quickly as well. Going backwards, going backwards,

:37:33. > :37:39.looking, and it's a fine save. Palace close again. Knocking on the

:37:40. > :37:45.door. Cabaye in once again. Off the line this time. Header down from

:37:46. > :37:49.Dann. Clearance from Michael Hector. All hands-on deck for Reading.

:37:50. > :37:57.Hector, just flaring up slightly with Cabaye, I think. Needs to be

:37:58. > :38:00.careful, he has been booked. Oliver Norwood in the right place to clear

:38:01. > :38:06.the ball from in front of the goal line a few moments ago. We said it

:38:07. > :38:13.about Palace from set pieces. They are very good. Hold on. Mike Dean

:38:14. > :38:21.with a bit of sorting out to do. Zaha has lost it. Hector is involved

:38:22. > :38:30.again. Delaney gets involved. Half of the players on the pitch throwing

:38:31. > :38:35.in their tuppence worth. I don't think the referee has seen it, in

:38:36. > :38:39.all honesty. All he can really do is have a word with them and tell them

:38:40. > :38:49.to calm down. Let's have another look. Zaha goes down. Chris Gunter.

:38:50. > :38:58.Did Chris Gunter clip his back leg? Then Hector gets involved. Come on,

:38:59. > :39:03.boys! Dear, oh dear. The only thing is, if subbing has been said to

:39:04. > :39:11.Zaha, which might be the case with his reaction. Otherwise, swap

:39:12. > :39:19.handbags and get on with it. He said it 1-1, Mike Dean.

:39:20. > :39:30.Taking a long time to sort out. Plenty of talking going on down

:39:31. > :39:40.there. Where is Boutros Boutros-Ghali when you need him? !

:39:41. > :39:54.Do you think they will shake hands? Not having it factor in Mike Dean is

:39:55. > :40:01.from the Wirral. Chris Gunter will get a yellow card as well. It's

:40:02. > :40:06.Daft, isn't it, just Daft. They are both on a yellow. Stupid. More so

:40:07. > :40:17.for Chris Gunter, if he missed times his challenge it's gone. Come on,

:40:18. > :40:21.Wilfried, take a chill pill. Wilfried Zaha continues to matter.

:40:22. > :40:25.No handshakes down there at the moment. He's not having it. --

:40:26. > :40:47.continues to Oliver Norwood with an important

:40:48. > :40:53.interception for Reading a few moments ago before the kerfuffle on

:40:54. > :40:56.the far side. Here it is once more. That's why you have people on the

:40:57. > :41:05.posts. Always amazes me when teams don't. I seriously do not get it.

:41:06. > :41:11.Simon Cox might be leaving the field shortly. Straight swap upfront for

:41:12. > :41:19.Reading coming at the next available opportunity. Powerful header from

:41:20. > :41:26.Delaney. Off the boot of McShane to Hector. Over to the far side, good

:41:27. > :41:32.play. Hal Robson-Kanu, away from Delaney, who dives in. He concedes a

:41:33. > :41:38.free kick. I think he might have just got the ball, but it's from the

:41:39. > :41:44.side. Man and ball, you can see, Mike Dean Saint, man and ball. --

:41:45. > :42:13.Mike Dean He's done really well considering

:42:14. > :42:19.he's been up there on his own. Good reception from the crowd. Matej

:42:20. > :42:23.Vydra on to replace him. Six goals in the FA Cup, the top scorer in the

:42:24. > :42:30.competition this season including a hat-trick in the 5-2 replay victory

:42:31. > :42:38.over Huddersfield. Reading can try to play in behind Delaney and Dann

:42:39. > :42:43.now. He has pace. Will this give Reading the lift they are looking

:42:44. > :42:53.for? Big gap to Hennessey's left. Norwood and Quinn over the ball.

:42:54. > :43:02.Norwood takes it. The wall does its job for Crystal Palace. It's been a

:43:03. > :43:10.rather to the quiet night for Wayne Hennessey in the Palace goal so far.

:43:11. > :43:16.Looking for a free kick for that. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Looking

:43:17. > :43:24.at the ball, eyes on the ball. How can that be a foul? It's not a foul,

:43:25. > :43:30.I don't think. It's not a foul! He has his eyes on the ball. Wayne

:43:31. > :43:35.Hennessey has been unsure a couple of times in this match. We saw in

:43:36. > :43:41.the first half when Ola John had a good chance. He flapped at it. So

:43:42. > :44:02.much protection, it's frightening. Yannick Bolasie supporting Adebayor.

:44:03. > :44:15.Scrapping in midfield from Stephen Quinn. Cabaye almost claiming

:44:16. > :44:19.possession for Palace. Get your card back in, Mike Dean, it's a good

:44:20. > :44:27.tackle. It really is. Bolasie has gone and blocked it. Jordan Obita is

:44:28. > :44:33.fine. Come on, get the game done away with! I think we will get the

:44:34. > :44:41.chance to see it now. Yeah, comes in from the side. What's wrong with

:44:42. > :44:47.that? The referee's Assistant is two meters away. Come on, boys. No one

:44:48. > :44:55.that he's lost the plot. -- no wonder he's lost the plot. Quinn is

:44:56. > :45:09.throwing everything at it. First touch for the draft. I think that

:45:10. > :45:17.one was a foul. -- first touch for Vydra. The other thing would be Zaha

:45:18. > :45:21.spat, it took two or three minutes to sort out just as Palace had up a

:45:22. > :45:29.head of steam. Now it's completely fizzled out. Oliver Norwood created

:45:30. > :45:30.a goal from a similar position in the last round against West Brom

:45:31. > :45:43.with his delivery. The free kick in the last round was

:45:44. > :45:48.better than that one. You wonder whether he will pay for that with

:45:49. > :45:54.Zaha having a started as Jordan Obita. Bolasie supporting. Zaha. He

:45:55. > :46:01.couldn't get hold of it. And it's blasted over the by Adebayor. I

:46:02. > :46:06.think Bolasie got it wrong. Zaha did great. Deflected for a corner.

:46:07. > :46:10.Absolutely great. The defender, Chris Gunter, he showed him the way

:46:11. > :46:15.that Chris Gunter wanted him to go. In the end, I think that's a chance

:46:16. > :46:21.wasted. Chris Gunter only sending him one side, and that made all the

:46:22. > :46:29.difference. It's a hit and hope. Vital deflection to take it behind

:46:30. > :46:37.for a corner kick. Ninth corner of the game for Crystal Palace. The

:46:38. > :46:40.usual suspects wait for it. Cabaye's delivery, in by Adebayor, and

:46:41. > :46:44.scooped off the line again. I think Ali Al-Habsi was right behind it.

:46:45. > :46:49.Cabaye to the far post and Bolasie was racing in at the back. Drilled

:46:50. > :46:59.into the goal by Jedinak. Another good block. Good strike by Jedinak

:47:00. > :47:02.as well to wait for it to come down. Reading having to dig in a the full

:47:03. > :47:16.bit as Palace are pushing towards the goal. Defensive shield doing its

:47:17. > :47:25.job in front of Al-Habsi. Good corners, aren't they? Ola John is

:47:26. > :47:44.the only Reading player outside his penalty area at the moment. What did

:47:45. > :47:55.I say? But, mouth, in. -- for for for

:47:56. > :48:25.Vydra into test Joel Ward. Lovely control by Matej Vydra.

:48:26. > :48:32.What a fantastic pass in the first place. You can see from this angle,

:48:33. > :48:35.went down a little bit late. Deflection coming off the elbow of

:48:36. > :48:53.Scott Dann. Getting a cup tie now. I wonder if Palace are thinking of

:48:54. > :48:58.making a change, may be looking at Adebayor. As he completed 90 minutes

:48:59. > :49:13.yet? I don't think he has. -- has really. -- has he. They have Fraizer

:49:14. > :49:18.Campbell, Dwight Gayle, Bakary Sako and Jason Puncheon is fit again.

:49:19. > :49:22.They are not short of replacements. Jordan Mutch is also on the bench.

:49:23. > :49:29.And Martin Kelly, who scored the winning goal in the fifth round.

:49:30. > :49:38.Jason Puncheon going through a few sprints. Towering header by Delaney.

:49:39. > :49:46.Looked like he was clambering over his opponent. Just a touch. The

:49:47. > :49:53.intensity has gone up a notch or two in this cup tie. Zaha with Adebayor

:49:54. > :50:00.up alongside him. Excellent play from the Zaha. Jake Cooper will be

:50:01. > :50:04.penalise. The feet were too quick for Cooper. Dived in at the edge of

:50:05. > :50:17.the penalty area. Understandable in many ways. Great play by Zaha. This

:50:18. > :50:21.is Cabaye territory, is it not? Nice piece of skill from Wilfried Zaha.

:50:22. > :50:27.He has got it, that's the frustrating thing. The boy has got

:50:28. > :50:33.it. Cabaye will be happy it's a few yards further forward. And happy

:50:34. > :50:39.it's in the middle of the goal. If you are Al-Habsi, where do you stand

:50:40. > :50:47.for this? It's a big decision. Looks more concerned about where everyone

:50:48. > :50:53.else will be stored. They all in it. Do they jump, stand tall? They have

:50:54. > :51:01.tried to park the blue and white bass for this one. Cabaye takes it

:51:02. > :51:09.and Al-Habsi saves it once again! It's the save on the back page of

:51:10. > :51:15.the newspapers tomorrow, for the photographers. I don't think he has

:51:16. > :51:19.to dive that much! Up and over the wall and heading for the goal.

:51:20. > :51:29.Clawed away by the Reading goalkeeper. The cat.

:51:30. > :51:41.Still zero against his name, though. Reading camped around their own

:51:42. > :51:48.penalty area at the moment in this spell of the game. Past the midway

:51:49. > :51:58.point of the second half here. This has had a bit of everything. Like

:51:59. > :52:01.the last round. The first 45 minutes, forgettable, but the second

:52:02. > :52:16.half, very memorable, unless you are a West Brom fan. For sure.

:52:17. > :52:27.Stephen Quinn made the interception. Souare landed in the penalty area.

:52:28. > :52:34.LAUGHTER It was just a dive. Back into the

:52:35. > :52:38.arms of the Reading goalkeeper. Crystal Palace pushing hard in the

:52:39. > :52:49.last few minutes but this was the incident would Souare a few moments

:52:50. > :52:54.ago. The American Sniper got him. Palace have conceded just one goal

:52:55. > :52:57.in the FA Cup this season. Wayne Hennessey's goal hasn't been under

:52:58. > :53:09.threat on too many occasions until now. 20 minutes to try to win it

:53:10. > :53:14.first time at and get back to Wembley for the second year in a row

:53:15. > :53:18.for Reading, having reached the semifinals last season. Such a great

:53:19. > :53:24.effort against Arsenal as well, 2-1 after extra time. Matej Vydra with a

:53:25. > :53:29.nice touch. Good approach play from the Championship side. Ola John.

:53:30. > :53:36.Always going wide of the goal. The approach play was good. Very good.

:53:37. > :53:37.One touch and first-time passing. Important that they carried the

:53:38. > :53:50.threat. You can see what he's trying to do.

:53:51. > :53:59.Ola John with three goals to his name so far this season. Look at

:54:00. > :54:11.where all the players are, you could throw a tent over them.

:54:12. > :54:18.Zaha causing further anxiety for the Reading defence and winning another

:54:19. > :54:24.corner for Crystal Palace. Always attracting players to him, isn't he?

:54:25. > :54:32.14th corner for Cabaye and Crystal Palace. Alan Pardew getting animated

:54:33. > :54:37.on the edge of the technical area. Let's have two against one. A bit

:54:38. > :54:44.late now, everybody knows. Nobody on the post for this.

:54:45. > :54:56.Away by Cooper. Finds its way to Zaha. Stephen Quinn wins it for

:54:57. > :55:04.Reading. Ola John loses out to Joel Ward. Souare, almost wrong-footed by

:55:05. > :55:15.the pass. Ledley getting forward and Bolasie! Blocked by Cooper. Great

:55:16. > :55:17.lot. -- great block. Chance for Hal Robson-Kanu to think his way past

:55:18. > :55:45.Delaney. -- to dink. I think we will see Danny

:55:46. > :55:58.Williams come on, the USA international.

:55:59. > :56:02.What's the delivery like? Couldn't quite find its way to Quinn. Zaha

:56:03. > :56:17.underneath it. Space in midfield. More room for

:56:18. > :56:38.Chris Gunter on the right-hand side. Adebayor with Bolasie and Cabaye in

:56:39. > :56:42.support. The only three Palace players inside the Reading half,

:56:43. > :56:55.joined by Ledley. McShane goes across. There was only really

:56:56. > :57:04.Adebayor in there. Starting to look a little bit leggy, Adebayor.

:57:05. > :57:10.Reading make another change. Danny Williams, 27 years of age, making

:57:11. > :57:13.his 100th appearance for the team on Tuesday, the USA international, and

:57:14. > :57:22.he comes on to replace Oliver Norwood. Second change made by Brian

:57:23. > :57:33.McDermott. Trying to win the game, should be applauded. Yet another

:57:34. > :57:42.beard. Crikey. He's quite a driving force in the Reading midfield.

:57:43. > :57:50.As the manager sends on the second substitute, the Golden gamble,

:57:51. > :57:58.lottery prize draw, goes up on the far side. Not sure whether it was

:57:59. > :58:12.the Golden gamble by Brian McDermott. Palace also looking at

:58:13. > :58:19.making a change. 23,110 inside the stadium watching this one. Don't see

:58:20. > :58:23.many empty seats around. Here come Reading at the far post, Ola John

:58:24. > :58:28.with the chance and blocked by Hennessey. Optus go from there. It's

:58:29. > :58:31.a good save, but it's straight at the goalkeeper. --. To score from

:58:32. > :58:50.there. -- got to. Inside the last 15 minutes of the

:58:51. > :58:55.game here. Bolasie chases through the centre. Cooper there once more

:58:56. > :58:59.for Reading. Instructions coming from any aside from Alan Pardew.

:59:00. > :59:11.Ledley is quick with the throw, to Adebayor. Williams, just off the

:59:12. > :59:15.bench. Delaney underneath it. Adebayor stretching. Away by Chris

:59:16. > :59:37.Gunter. Decent call towards Adebayor.

:59:38. > :59:41.Miscued by Joe Ledley. Chris Gunter taking his eye off it. He was in

:59:42. > :59:49.position and everything. Came off his knee. That's more like it from

:59:50. > :59:53.Hal Robson-Kanu. We haven't seen really taking it to Crystal Palace

:59:54. > :59:57.on the far side. Only one up front, so it's difficult. The balance as

:59:58. > :00:07.much as anything. Palace want to make a change and the

:00:08. > :00:30.ball doesn't go out, does it? Souare sees it out of play. Now we

:00:31. > :00:37.will get the change for Crystal Palace. This was the Ola John

:00:38. > :00:46.chance. He could see it coming all the time. He has looked. It's got to

:00:47. > :00:47.go, it's a back where it came from finish. Left-hand side of the

:00:48. > :01:03.goalkeeper. Meanwhile there is Bakary Sako who

:01:04. > :01:07.arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer. He scored in his first

:01:08. > :01:13.two appearances, against Villa and Chelsea. He has had a thigh problem

:01:14. > :01:16.this season which has caused all sorts of trouble. Joe Ledley the

:01:17. > :01:30.player going off. Another positive substitution.

:01:31. > :01:39.Can Reading find a way through? Only clear as far as Bernie Williams.

:01:40. > :01:58.Obita, playing well against Zaha. Well played. Cool heads at the back

:01:59. > :02:02.from Crystal Palace. Nearly inside the last ten minutes, as the ball

:02:03. > :02:14.just gets away from Michael Hector. Now it is with Bolasie. He turns on

:02:15. > :02:15.the turbo. Collected by Souare. Adebayor couldn't quite get in the

:02:16. > :02:29.penalty area. Bolasie moving into the middle now

:02:30. > :02:35.with Adebayor. Bakary Sako looking to make a late impact in this FA Cup

:02:36. > :02:40.quarterfinal here. Souare with the delivery. Now it's with Wilfried

:02:41. > :02:58.Zaha. Chance for Bakary Sako, Gunter seems to have it

:02:59. > :03:03.covered. Just making it difficult for him, Bakary Sako. Reading

:03:04. > :03:08.haven't lost at home in the FA Cup for four years now. They have

:03:09. > :03:15.defended well here against Crystal Palace. Bolasie! Probably had a

:03:16. > :03:25.little bit too much time. He knew it was coming to him. The defender

:03:26. > :03:35.retreated just a little bit. Just bend your back.

:03:36. > :03:47.So, Ali Al-Habsi, who has made a couple of good saves in the match.

:03:48. > :04:00.One from Bolasie in the first half with his legs. Well, it's 0-0, isn't

:04:01. > :04:05.it? Free kick for Crystal Palace. Seems you and the boy Lineker

:04:06. > :04:22.mentioned all those goals in previous meetings...

:04:23. > :04:29.Good atmosphere created, mainly by the travelling fans. 4000 Crystal

:04:30. > :04:34.Palace fans inside the ground for this one. Their team kicking towards

:04:35. > :04:42.them in the second half. Wilfried Zaha looking to find a way through!

:04:43. > :04:46.He was just nudged overbite Obita. Yes. Let's have a look at this one

:04:47. > :04:57.again. I don't think there was too much doubt about it. It wasn't the

:04:58. > :05:06.hardest of shoves. He went over Ely, shall we say? But don't they all. --

:05:07. > :05:10.went over easily. Now, does Cabaye take it or is it a left footer?

:05:11. > :05:26.Bakary Sako is there as well. It's not as if... We have played for

:05:27. > :05:35.nearly 83 minutes in this FA Cup quarterfinal. Bakary Sako for

:05:36. > :05:39.Palace, drilling that one in. Deflected off Quinn. Fair to say he

:05:40. > :05:51.went for power. Reading had that covered. Three

:05:52. > :05:58.players all around the ball. Collected by Adebayor. They will get

:05:59. > :06:11.a free kick as well. He made sure he got a free kick. Here it is again,

:06:12. > :06:18.with Hal Robson-Kanu. He has got him round the top of the thigh and

:06:19. > :06:29.pulled him down. Well, Palace have certainly had the

:06:30. > :06:43.chance to go through all their set play routines. This is the latest.

:06:44. > :06:50.In from Cabaye. Away by Hector. It was Bolasie held up by Cuba? He was!

:06:51. > :06:57.It's a penalty! Definitely an arm comes up here. Whether it actually

:06:58. > :07:04.stopped Bolasie remains to be seen. There is Cooper, there is Bolasie.

:07:05. > :07:08.He's made contact with him. If he doesn't touch him commonly can't be

:07:09. > :07:13.questioned. It's a soft penalty. He touched him and it's a red guard.

:07:14. > :07:17.Denying a goal-scoring opportunity. But what a daft thing to do. Lassie

:07:18. > :07:28.is not anywhere near in terms of getting control of the ball. --

:07:29. > :07:35.Bolasie. But what a golden chance now for Crystal Palace, with five

:07:36. > :07:39.minutes to go exactly. Yohan Cabaye has scored five goals this season,

:07:40. > :07:43.three of them from the penalty spot. Can he add to his total now to edge

:07:44. > :07:53.Crystal Palace closer to a trip to Wembley? Oh! He most certainly can,

:07:54. > :08:01.but Ali Al-Habsi so nearly had it. Well, it's that classic one. If he

:08:02. > :08:04.stayed where he is, he saved it. Frustration for Ali Al-Habsi and

:08:05. > :08:10.sheer delight for Crystal Palace. With just five minutes to go, Yohan

:08:11. > :08:16.Cabaye with the penalty kick. It is Reading 0- one Crystal Palace. Yeah,

:08:17. > :08:24.just stays there, straight down the middle. And it is agonising for

:08:25. > :08:30.Reading. For the goalkeeper, in fairness to him, because he is now

:08:31. > :08:34.thinking, what if? Maybe a stronger left-hand as well, but you cannot

:08:35. > :08:40.blame him for it. Soft penalty, soft goal. Well, Alan Pardew has had a

:08:41. > :08:45.bit of bad luck in the cup final in the past few years. He probably

:08:46. > :08:52.thinks there is some kind of justice, although it was a penalty.

:08:53. > :08:59.So, Reading don't have very long to put this right and to keep

:09:00. > :09:04.themselves in the competition. What have they got left in the tank in

:09:05. > :09:13.the final minutes? Inside the last five, inside the last four in fact,

:09:14. > :09:17.plus added time. Palace struggled to see out the game last week at 1-0.

:09:18. > :09:24.They will be hoping to do better this week. Now Bolasie. Suddenly

:09:25. > :09:29.Palace tales are most definitely up as they swarm around the Reading

:09:30. > :09:34.penalty area! As it snaps off the crossbar! Great Lake, wasn't it? One

:09:35. > :09:41.of those where you know what he's doing and he still does it. -- great

:09:42. > :09:46.late. Nearly game set and match. Just watch this from Yannick

:09:47. > :09:54.Bolasie. Ali Al-Habsi wasn't going to keep that out any time soon.

:09:55. > :10:04.Reading just can't get hold of the ball. That's the problem. Matej

:10:05. > :10:09.Vydra has come on but they have not really played to his strengths. I

:10:10. > :10:11.don't think he's had any past where he could get in behind the Crystal

:10:12. > :10:34.Palace defence. Should they make it to Wembley,

:10:35. > :10:38.Palace will be feeling better about themselves. A season which has

:10:39. > :10:43.shaken up so well. At Christmas they were only out of the top four on

:10:44. > :10:52.goal difference. I think over the course of a season your luck does

:10:53. > :10:56.even itself out. Looking to get it the ball rolling again for Reading.

:10:57. > :11:00.They have not threatened Wayne Hennessey's goal for quite a while

:11:01. > :11:05.now. Inside the two minutes of the 90. Williams trying to force his way

:11:06. > :11:10.through and he gets a free kick and that will be a yellow card for Mile

:11:11. > :11:17.Jedinak. Daft, he is running away from the goal. Absolutely crazy from

:11:18. > :11:23.Jedinak. Just let him run away from the goal, it's easier. One last

:11:24. > :11:31.change coming up for Reading here. Deniss Rakels is going to come on. A

:11:32. > :11:40.change for Palace as well. Let's look at the penalty incident. It's a

:11:41. > :11:44.helpful ball back. I mean, Bolasie makes the most of it but he has

:11:45. > :11:53.touched him against his chest. What a daft penalty. Well, it is

:11:54. > :11:58.inexperience. So, Deniss Rakels is an, for

:11:59. > :12:05.Reading. Jordan Obita is the player who has

:12:06. > :12:24.gone off will Now, what can Reading do here? We're

:12:25. > :12:28.almost heading towards added time at the end of the game. Chance to

:12:29. > :12:35.launch this one into the penalty area. Straight onto the head of

:12:36. > :12:46.Jedinak. That was a poor attempt at a clearance. Left the door ajar.

:12:47. > :12:55.Here it comes once more! Four minutes of added time.

:12:56. > :13:02.My choice of Man of the Match... I think I'm probably going to give it

:13:03. > :13:05.to Ali Al-Habsi. He has basically kept Palace out for most of the

:13:06. > :13:12.game, he just got a bit unlucky with the penalty. Deniss Rakels with the

:13:13. > :13:18.penalty. Williams. Palace have to hang on now through added time.

:13:19. > :13:29.Finely balanced still, this tie. Forward by Hector once more. Now Ola

:13:30. > :13:34.John. This election is off Wilfried Zaha. Ola John once more. -- a

:13:35. > :13:40.deflection. Reading looking to create some late drama. Not a bad

:13:41. > :13:45.ball. It invades everybody in blue and white. Bakary Sako with a chance

:13:46. > :13:49.to bring it clear. Adebayor with time and space and support in the

:13:50. > :13:58.centre. Campbell has just come off the bench, now Zaha. Can they

:13:59. > :14:05.finished the tie off here? He did extremely well, Stephen Quinn. Kept

:14:06. > :14:09.his eyes on the ball, not the man. There he is, Ali. The Man of the

:14:10. > :14:19.Match. Not too many choices, in all honesty. Of course the onus was on

:14:20. > :14:23.Crystal Palace as the Premier League side here, but they have made the

:14:24. > :14:26.running in this game. They have, it's just the manner of the goal

:14:27. > :14:34.that Reading have conceded which will really hurt. Crystal Palace

:14:35. > :14:42.will have a corner. He was in the running, Cabaye. The last time he

:14:43. > :14:46.scored, it was enough to see off Southampton in the Premier League.

:14:47. > :14:51.Will his goal tonight be enough to send Crystal Palace back to Wembley?

:14:52. > :14:56.This would be their first -- this is their first quarterfinal in over 20

:14:57. > :14:57.years. Quite a view of the home crowd starting to disappear at head

:14:58. > :15:06.of the final whistle. Palace have the ball right where

:15:07. > :15:16.they want it. Offside! That didn't quite work. Looking anxious.

:15:17. > :15:27.Time for a last throw of the dice perhaps for Reading. Maybe not. Zaha

:15:28. > :15:33.will take it to the corner, I presume. Just slow down, no rush.

:15:34. > :15:42.Perhaps he wants to add the icing on the cake itself. Great chance.

:15:43. > :15:46.Campbell finishes it off! Fraizer Campbell, with what surely is the

:15:47. > :15:51.last kick of the game, making sure that it is Crystal Palace who will

:15:52. > :15:55.be going to Wembley. Palace lead Reading 2-0 and there is no time for

:15:56. > :16:01.the Championship side to come back from this. Well played Zaha. There

:16:02. > :16:08.is a great return ball in here. He comes across, has a little look,

:16:09. > :16:14.watch this ball now. Fantastic. Brilliant. Ali Al-Habsi was unlucky

:16:15. > :16:19.as well. Just a wonderful piece of vision. They will just about have

:16:20. > :16:27.time to kick off again before Mike Dean blows the final whistle here.

:16:28. > :16:32.It's hard on Reading. If they hadn't conceded the first one, the penalty,

:16:33. > :16:40.who knows? Fraizer Campbell has now scored five goals in his last eight

:16:41. > :16:44.appearances in the FA Cup. Palace supporters young and old starting to

:16:45. > :16:51.celebrate, because they have a great day out to look forward to. A trip

:16:52. > :16:58.to Wembley and an FA Cup semifinal. The draw will be on The One Show on

:16:59. > :17:10.Monday evening, 7:20pm. Matej Vydra going for it. Good defending by

:17:11. > :17:18.Ward, take no chances. Vydra challenging for the header at the

:17:19. > :17:22.far post. Zaha will bring it clear. Palace have not won in 12 in the

:17:23. > :17:27.Premier League. They continue that excellent form in the FA Cup. It is

:17:28. > :17:32.a run which has seen them go all the way to Wembley. Alan Pardew

:17:33. > :17:38.successful on his return to former club Reading here. They left it late

:17:39. > :17:43.but in the end they had a little bit of elbow room. Yohan Cabaye with a

:17:44. > :17:47.penalty after 85 minutes, Ali Al-Habsi getting a hand to it but

:17:48. > :17:51.couldn't quite keep it out. Then deep into added time with what must

:17:52. > :17:56.be more or less his first touch of the ball, having come on, Fraizer

:17:57. > :18:00.Campbell finishing off a fine move and slamming the ball home,

:18:01. > :18:03.confirming that it is Crystal Palace who are through to the semifinals of

:18:04. > :18:05.the FA Cup. They have beaten Reading of the Championship by two goals to

:18:06. > :18:15.nil. Despite the valiant efforts of Ali

:18:16. > :18:17.Al-Habsi, it is Crystal Palace that will be our first semifinalists in

:18:18. > :18:21.the Emirates FA Cup this season. They will go to Wembley. We will

:18:22. > :18:29.find out who they will play on Monday evening. The draw is live on

:18:30. > :18:32.The One Show at about 7:20pm. Cabaye with the all-important penalty,

:18:33. > :18:39.slightly controversial penalty. We will discuss that shortly. Overall

:18:40. > :18:43.Crystal Palace much the better side? Absolutely, they graded all the

:18:44. > :18:50.charges. I think in the end quality just came through. The penalty was a

:18:51. > :18:56.soft one. But in the end I think on chances Palace to serve to win the

:18:57. > :19:04.game. Steve? Yes, persistent quality is the way you would put it. A great

:19:05. > :19:08.chance for Ola John in the second half but all in all, you would have

:19:09. > :19:13.to say thoroughly deserved victory, if not by the route that everyone

:19:14. > :19:16.thought. A much better performance by Crystal Palace in the second

:19:17. > :19:20.half. I thought Reading were better as well in the second half, which

:19:21. > :19:24.created a better spectacle for all of us and contributed. Overall you

:19:25. > :19:29.have to say the best team has gone through and that crucial moment

:19:30. > :19:35.changed it. It made a massive difference. Crystal Palace fans

:19:36. > :19:40.enjoying their evening. It's been a tough year for them in the league

:19:41. > :19:44.but if the FA Cup they are striding towards Wembley. Fantastic

:19:45. > :19:51.supporters, aren't they? They are brilliant. We were just talking

:19:52. > :19:56.about them, 4000 of them there. They have changed and gone to another

:19:57. > :19:58.level, the Palace fans. They will make Wembley and unbelievable

:19:59. > :20:02.occasion. Yohan Cabaye is with Dan Walker.

:20:03. > :20:08.Congratulations, through to the semifinals. Hard work out there

:20:09. > :20:14.tonight? Yes, we knew we would find it tough. It was tough. I think

:20:15. > :20:22.Reading are a good team, good players. The atmosphere was good.

:20:23. > :20:26.But we have done the job. We wanted to get a clean sheet, at least to

:20:27. > :20:34.get the replay at home. We have done the job and now we are in the semi.

:20:35. > :20:39.For us it was the most important. What does it mean to you as a player

:20:40. > :20:50.and as a team to be on the way to Wembley for a semifinal? It is nice

:20:51. > :21:02.to play for that competition. I had the chance to win the French cup. It

:21:03. > :21:07.is amazing to win something. So now one step closer to the final. We are

:21:08. > :21:15.in the draw on Sunday. We have to wait. But hopefully we can go to the

:21:16. > :21:23.final. The draw is on Monday, make sure you watch it on the BBC! And.

:21:24. > :21:27.Let's bring in Ali Al-Habsi. You are our Man of the Match. It's one of

:21:28. > :21:33.those, you don't want men of the match and to be on the losing side.

:21:34. > :21:40.Yes, it's always a bit difficult. It was really tough for us. We played

:21:41. > :21:49.on Tuesday away from home against Huddersfield. We just had two days

:21:50. > :21:53.recovery. But we come here to the quarterfinal and we have been great,

:21:54. > :21:58.the support has been fantastic all season. The fans have enjoyed a run

:21:59. > :22:02.in the FA Cup. When you get none of the match you hope to have a much

:22:03. > :22:07.better result. But I'm happy with myself and I'm happy with the team.

:22:08. > :22:16.We were very close to Wembley but these kind of games, you have to be

:22:17. > :22:20.very focused for 90 minutes. Two goals, Redcar, it was always going

:22:21. > :22:25.to be difficult. We have to concentrate on the league now. You

:22:26. > :22:33.had a hand on both goals. You had a very good view of the penalty. Was

:22:34. > :22:39.it harsh? I knew he had two or three penalties in the middle, so I

:22:40. > :22:51.stayed. Always the penalties would be difficult. Hopefully we have

:22:52. > :23:01.another good run and this season we have been fantastic at home, we have

:23:02. > :23:08.been brilliant. Very disappointed. To get to Wembley is not every time.

:23:09. > :23:10.But we have to concentrate now. You have won it before but not this

:23:11. > :23:18.year! Thanks for talking to us. He certainly had a horrific game and

:23:19. > :23:23.played his part, that is the shore. We have to get to the penalty. What

:23:24. > :23:26.did you think? I thought he would have got to the ball. Alan Pardew

:23:27. > :23:32.will know all about soft penalties and I bet he won't complain about

:23:33. > :23:39.this one! But he has stopped him. He's touched him. In this day and

:23:40. > :23:45.age you're going to give that. He steps into him and it's a deliberate

:23:46. > :23:49.blog. So you have to say... I would still try and get on that to finish

:23:50. > :23:56.it. If you get a touch, you go down, these days. It's easy with the slow

:23:57. > :24:03.motion... But when I saw it fast, it was. He is unlucky with that

:24:04. > :24:07.penalty. Cabaye is clever going down the middle because most keepers want

:24:08. > :24:14.to be the hero and they will dive to try to make a save. Ali Al-Habsi

:24:15. > :24:17.almost gets it. At least it's something that the penalty wasn't

:24:18. > :24:21.the only goal of the game. Having said that, obviously on the

:24:22. > :24:25.counterattack. Wilfried Zaha got the ball and people were saying go to

:24:26. > :24:31.the corner flag. He has taken a couple of players out and then that

:24:32. > :24:36.as is just class. I would have done a bit more to try and finish that!

:24:37. > :24:40.The pass from Adebayor is just brilliant vision. That is nice,

:24:41. > :24:49.bank! I thought Alice deserved it, unlucky

:24:50. > :24:59.for Reading. Matej Vydra did well when he came on. Overall, Reading

:25:00. > :25:02.Gallant? Yes, I think they will be satisfied with what they have done

:25:03. > :25:07.but bitterly disappointed. And a handicap because they were playing

:25:08. > :25:12.on Tuesday night. It put them at a disadvantage. But overall terrific

:25:13. > :25:21.performance and they could have nicked it as well. A real lift for

:25:22. > :25:25.Palace's season. They needed it. I think those supporters deserve it.

:25:26. > :25:28.I've been there a couple of times this season and the place is rocking

:25:29. > :25:39.even when they are playing badly. Fantastic supporters. Things could

:25:40. > :25:43.have been different. For me he has two had that back to where it's

:25:44. > :25:51.coming from. That is the only place the keeper can save it. He has gone

:25:52. > :25:55.down there, maybe he's just thinking hit the target and get the goal, but

:25:56. > :26:01.for me he could have gone back across the goal. Not everyone can

:26:02. > :26:02.finish like! Waiting to see if Alan Pardew thought it was a penalty or

:26:03. > :26:08.not. The boys were thinking was it a

:26:09. > :26:13.penalty, given what happened in recent times? Well, I haven't seen

:26:14. > :26:17.it again and trust me, I'm not going to even give an opinion, I'm in

:26:18. > :26:27.enough trouble with penalties! I thought we were terrific again. West

:26:28. > :26:31.Brom came here and got beat. It was a tricky tie because the intensity

:26:32. > :26:34.in the stadium was great and Reading were good today, but we were really

:26:35. > :26:38.good and I'm pleased we came away with the second goal, that was

:26:39. > :26:41.important. Watching your frustration coming must have thought with ten

:26:42. > :26:49.minutes to go this was heading for a replay? Yeah, well, we'd thought the

:26:50. > :26:56.goalkeeper must have been men of the match today. He was, yes. He was

:26:57. > :27:01.tremendous. We did the process today. Something we have not done in

:27:02. > :27:04.games but eagerly well, seen it through to the end. We got a

:27:05. > :27:08.deserved victory and we confine ourselves in the semifinal and we

:27:09. > :27:12.can really look forward to it. Can that really make a difference? Can

:27:13. > :27:18.it live you for the next few games in the league as well? It's been a

:27:19. > :27:22.strange one because we've had these victories in the cup. In the league

:27:23. > :27:25.we got a bit edgy and nervous. I thought we played with freedom today

:27:26. > :27:29.and hopefully we can take that freedom into the league games and

:27:30. > :27:35.get ourselves the victories that we need. We don't need a lot of

:27:36. > :27:39.victories to secure our position but the running has put pressure on us.

:27:40. > :27:43.Look forward to playing Leicester, who have had the season of their

:27:44. > :27:47.lives. We are looking to upset them. A great day for us today and we just

:27:48. > :27:50.want to talk about that really. We did play well today. Well done,

:27:51. > :27:55.Alan. Thank you. The FA Cup continues on the BBC

:27:56. > :28:16.across the weekend. The draw from the semifinals will be

:28:17. > :28:17.on The One Show on Monday evening. The Six Nations continues on Sunday

:28:18. > :28:24.afternoon. Final thoughts. Your former club

:28:25. > :28:30.come you must be delighted? Delighted. Palace will make it a

:28:31. > :28:34.fantastic occasion. It was fantastic when they went to Wembley back in

:28:35. > :28:39.the day. I'm pleased for a few of those players because they need that

:28:40. > :28:44.kind of platform. Steve, mixed emotions. You win and lose either

:28:45. > :28:47.way! Yes, but Palace are the stronger unit and I hope it's not

:28:48. > :28:51.just a day out for the semifinal, they have to have bigger things to

:28:52. > :28:57.aim for. Crystal Palace can go all the way? Yes they can. They have a

:28:58. > :29:01.great opportunity with the attacking players they have on show and Jason

:29:02. > :29:05.Puncheon to come back as well. Things looking up for Crystal

:29:06. > :29:09.Palace. Steve, great to see you. Thanks for coming in. That is it for

:29:10. > :29:27.today, as Palace hit the Royals. COMMENTATOR: Good save from Ali

:29:28. > :29:41.Al-Habsi. Adebayor brings the save from Al-Habsi. Bolasie for Palace,

:29:42. > :29:43.Ledley! Al-Habsi says it! It's a penalty and it's a red card. Sheer

:29:44. > :29:49.delight for Crystal Palace! Callum The Six Nations continues

:29:50. > :29:54.Sunday at 2pm with followed by Scotland v France

:29:55. > :29:59.live from Murrayfield...
