:00:50. > :00:55.For 112 years West Ham called Upton Park home but soon all that will be

:00:56. > :01:18.left of this famous old ground are memories.

:01:19. > :01:27.West Ham's new stadium has plenty of history itself.

:01:28. > :01:34.But this house isn't a home for the Hammers just yet. The 55th stadium

:01:35. > :01:41.to host Premier League football and the third largest. A dangerous

:01:42. > :01:46.cross! The Hammers are rocking and it's another one! The FA is

:01:47. > :01:48.launching an investigation after scenes of hooliganism. Fans are

:01:49. > :01:57.fighting amongst themselves. Unacceptable. Sanchez and Arsenal! I

:01:58. > :02:03.have already got an investigation Rising costs of taking out temporary

:02:04. > :02:09.seating. Right now this doesn't look like the stadium legacy anyone

:02:10. > :02:17.wanted. Noble on the rebound! Mata, 1-0. Hard on West Ham this.

:02:18. > :02:22.Tonight marks another milestone in the live of the London Stadium, the

:02:23. > :02:27.first FA Cup tie to be played here sees West Ham take on Manchester

:02:28. > :02:30.City. A first taste of the Cup also for City boss Pep Guardiola. These

:02:31. > :02:35.two teams have lifted the trophy eight times between them.

:02:36. > :02:40.Good evening. This is the first of 32 third round ties to be played

:02:41. > :02:45.over the weekend and joining us in the studio Alan Shearer, Ian Wright

:02:46. > :02:48.and a man who has represented both clubs, Frank Lampard. Did you

:02:49. > :02:54.realise it was 21 years ago this month you made a debut for West Ham?

:02:55. > :02:59.I didn't realise, I don't like it! Start worrying when it's 21 years

:03:00. > :03:03.since you last played! The case for me. Great memories you had. The old

:03:04. > :03:06.ground, not here. Yeah, great memories, I grew up a West Ham fan.

:03:07. > :03:09.My father playing for them before me, as well. It was obviously a

:03:10. > :03:12.dream. Everyone wants to become a professional footballer and I

:03:13. > :03:17.certainly did. Great memories making my debut here, I obviously moved on

:03:18. > :03:19.a few years after but you never forget your roots and playing at

:03:20. > :03:24.Upton Park that day was very special. You two played together.

:03:25. > :03:28.Frank actually - we have a bit of footage. Frank has a shot from long

:03:29. > :03:35.range which he is prone to do and you poach him. That's a one-two from

:03:36. > :03:40.Frank. If he gets around the 18-yard box there is nothing... 35 yards out

:03:41. > :03:43.there. It was one of them, I had a great time, my time at West Ham was

:03:44. > :03:50.brilliant. Playing with Frank and Rio. What do you make of this place,

:03:51. > :03:53.frank? It's stunning. I came with the Olympics, it's stunning to look

:03:54. > :03:56.at. The question is, we are all talking about it, is whether it

:03:57. > :04:01.actually is helping the team on the pitch. Upton Park, the hostility and

:04:02. > :04:04.the tightness, here we can see it's vast and open. It takes time, as

:04:05. > :04:09.well, to get used to the surroundings. Yeah, even the best of

:04:10. > :04:12.teams. Tottenham played at Wembley this year, Arsenal moved to the

:04:13. > :04:15.Emirates and things change, even the best struggle. West Ham now,

:04:16. > :04:20.unfortunately have have had a downturn on the pitch. Like it, the

:04:21. > :04:24.stadium It feels like you are going into a final venue. It feels like

:04:25. > :04:28.that, it feels big and vast. But there is a lot of empty spaces in

:04:29. > :04:32.between. It's a nice place to come to, don't get me wrong. It will take

:04:33. > :04:42.time to get used to it, but the sooner they can do that, the better.

:04:43. > :04:50.Manchester City, a little prickly, the manager at the weekend. I do

:04:51. > :04:53.think the Premier League has even taken him back. It's games like this

:04:54. > :04:59.that brings the best out of top managers and top players. A full

:05:00. > :05:03.house, live on TV. But I think also he's been disappointed in and

:05:04. > :05:05.surprised in one or two of his players who haven't performed for

:05:06. > :05:09.him. That's probably one of the reasons why he has been tetchy in

:05:10. > :05:13.interviews. OK. Team selections are always a talking point after a busy

:05:14. > :05:19.round of Christmas fixtures. Here's how the two teams line up. West Ham

:05:20. > :05:21.make three changes from their last game.

:05:22. > :05:47.Carroll comes in for payet playing his 100th game for The Hammers

:05:48. > :05:56.playing - celebrating his 28th birthday.

:05:57. > :06:01.Stones is recalled in defence. Fernandinho suspended, Zabaleta may

:06:02. > :06:04.play in a holding role with Toure. Silva is recalled.

:06:05. > :06:08.Sterling and De Bruyne keep their places.

:06:09. > :06:09.Top scorer Aguero also comes into the starting line-up after beginning

:06:10. > :06:18.on the bench against Burnley. So a strong looking line-up for Pep

:06:19. > :06:23.Guardiola's first FA Cup selection. City did beat West Ham 3-1 at home

:06:24. > :06:27.back in August. In fact, they won a first ten games of the season in all

:06:28. > :06:35.competitions but it's not been such plain sailing since then.

:06:36. > :06:46.He is coming to Manchester City... I will play - sorry I am not going to

:06:47. > :06:51.negotiate. Congratulate them for their performance. It didn't look

:06:52. > :06:56.good? No, maybe I will pay respect with them. How long do you think it

:06:57. > :07:01.will take for the players to really understand the Pep way? Sorry, I

:07:02. > :07:09.don't know. The beginning was quickly, now it will be a little bit

:07:10. > :07:14.longer. I am happy to be their coach.

:07:15. > :07:16.In these kind of games, of course, the little details make the

:07:17. > :07:23.difference. You won it, you won it the hard way.

:07:24. > :07:26.Yeah. That's true. You don't seem that happy that you have won. More

:07:27. > :07:30.than you believe. I am so happy, believe me. I am so happy, happy new

:07:31. > :07:36.year. Thanks, Pep. A pleasure.

:07:37. > :07:41.The first taste of the FA Cup. How much do you as a manager relish

:07:42. > :07:46.knockout football, particularly in a competition with so much history?

:07:47. > :07:52.Happy talk about this competition, when I was in other countries, now

:07:53. > :07:56.it's my first time, but in Germany the Cup is really good, as well. So,

:07:57. > :08:00.hopefully we can make a good performance and go through. You have

:08:01. > :08:04.made five changes but it's still a strong line-up tonight. You are

:08:05. > :08:12.going out here to take this seriously? All the games, all the

:08:13. > :08:16.games seriously, yeah. That's true. So, yeah, the draw, it was difficult

:08:17. > :08:21.for both teams, of course, but away against West Ham one of the best

:08:22. > :08:25.teams last season, and now it's much better in the beginning, so a tough

:08:26. > :08:29.game and of course we have to think about it to win the game.

:08:30. > :08:33.It's great that he has given the competition the respect it deserves

:08:34. > :08:37.by going for a really strong, it also suggests that he needs a win or

:08:38. > :08:45.two. Get that confidence back. They won at the weekend obviously but

:08:46. > :08:49.after losing to Liverpool, he is feeling his way, finding his feet. I

:08:50. > :08:53.think the Premier League has surprised him. You don't get any

:08:54. > :08:56.walkovers in our league. That was slightly different to what I think

:08:57. > :09:02.he has been used to. The poorer teams in our league are not as poor

:09:03. > :09:08.as the ones they are in Germany or in Spain. And he is a manager that

:09:09. > :09:12.loves to change his players around, to rotate his players. I looked at

:09:13. > :09:17.the changes he has made for Manchester City this season so far.

:09:18. > :09:21.68. Miles more than anyone else. That on the side is not league

:09:22. > :09:25.positions by the way, that's a number of changes made in that

:09:26. > :09:28.particular year. So, what I thought was when I seen 68 changes, I

:09:29. > :09:31.thought he was looking for a system, he was looking at players, learning

:09:32. > :09:36.about it and he hasn't found it yet. But when you look at Barcelona and

:09:37. > :09:40.Bayern Munich he likes to move the team around and change and rotate.

:09:41. > :09:43.That's what he believes in all the time, he believes in fresh players

:09:44. > :09:48.and changing them constantly. Frank, how do you assess Guardiola's

:09:49. > :09:54.progress so far? Well, it's been you have to, I am a huge fan. I love the

:09:55. > :09:57.way he made his teams play, Barcelona and Bayern. He is making

:09:58. > :10:01.changes back there, that was his style. He had good players, he

:10:02. > :10:04.didn't really change Messi too much. He had a corner always at the top.

:10:05. > :10:07.Now it's like he is searching. He is searching for, not just the right

:10:08. > :10:11.players, but the right system. So I think on that front he has found it

:10:12. > :10:15.hard. Even a top manager in the world, as he is probably one of, can

:10:16. > :10:19.have a moment when they have to look at themselves and go hang on, do I

:10:20. > :10:23.change slightly? Remember the Leicester game, didn't know what was

:10:24. > :10:28.going on with that. If any manager here done something like that, would

:10:29. > :10:31.have got hammered. After that when you saw the swu interview, didn't

:10:32. > :10:38.ask too many pressing questions, to see him go like that, I don't know

:10:39. > :10:42.if it's because we have irked him. I think one of the surprises I found

:10:43. > :10:50.is that the goalkeeping situation, and he is not playing this evening,

:10:51. > :10:54.but the goalkeeper, he signed Bravo. He didn't even give Joe Hart a

:10:55. > :10:57.chance, you are not for me and I am changing it, and that's been one of

:10:58. > :11:00.the problems because the goalkeeper has made mistakes. Even upfront,

:11:01. > :11:05.Aguero doesn't always play even when he is fit. He has had an up and down

:11:06. > :11:10.season in all sorts of ways. But he is playing tonight. If you are going

:11:11. > :11:14.to say that he's come in and a few players with the rotation what he is

:11:15. > :11:25.doing, he seems upset. I don't know what's up with him. He has elbowed

:11:26. > :11:31.Reid there. Lunged into Luis. Pep has come in and... Even Aguero he's

:11:32. > :11:35.upset. He's one player that you have to say that anyone else in the world

:11:36. > :11:41.would probably want him on their team. You played with him, Frank. A

:11:42. > :11:45.great player. One of the greatest strikers I have played with. Drogba

:11:46. > :11:50.another one. But he is a goal machine. When he plays he scores

:11:51. > :11:59.goals. He has that little bit of edge to him. I remember you throwing

:12:00. > :12:04.a few of those! Even with that tackle there, nobody likes that,

:12:05. > :12:08.particularly David Luis. We all saw the game, they should have won.

:12:09. > :12:12.Frustrated. He has that even in training. Not every day, rarely, but

:12:13. > :12:16.you knew it was there as an edge. Top players have that. He wants to

:12:17. > :12:23.win. A bit of devilment. Under 15 minutes now to kick-off. The stadium

:12:24. > :12:26.has a capacity of 57,000, compared with 35,000 at Upton Park. The good

:12:27. > :12:33.news is we are expecting a full house tonight. Let's hear from the

:12:34. > :12:37.West Ham manager Slaven Bilic. It's 21 years ago this week since

:12:38. > :12:40.you first came to West Ham. You know the FA Cup history here. How much

:12:41. > :12:47.would you like to write the next chapter? I would like of course, I

:12:48. > :12:52.said last year that the FA Cup and the other Cup especially the FA Cup

:12:53. > :12:56.we approach with big ambitions. We are hoping, we are dreaming, last

:12:57. > :13:03.year we went to quarter-finals, we were quite unlucky not to go through

:13:04. > :13:07.to semis and of course we are going to do everything we can to try to do

:13:08. > :13:15.it this year also. And to go even further. We have a difficult draw,

:13:16. > :13:19.of course. We are playing against top team, Manchester City, but let's

:13:20. > :13:23.see three or four days ago we played on the same stage against also a

:13:24. > :13:29.great team, Manchester United and even with ten men we were playing

:13:30. > :13:35.good and I said to the boyses after that game if we continue to put a

:13:36. > :13:42.shift like we put in that game we have a chance. That game also

:13:43. > :13:46.drained us, this is our third game in six days and we are motivated. We

:13:47. > :13:53.are going to try to beat them, of course.

:13:54. > :14:01.It is 37 years since West Ham won the FA Cup, but what would success

:14:02. > :14:09.mean for the current squad? Aaron Cresswell, who made his England

:14:10. > :14:16.debut in November, spoke to us. West Ham have won the cup! It's one of

:14:17. > :14:23.the biggest competitions in the world. The FA Cup lifted for West

:14:24. > :14:28.Ham. I want to go as far as I can. Ever since I was a little boy,

:14:29. > :14:35.kicking a ball around, the FA Cup final, and to actually be playing

:14:36. > :14:39.and scoring goals in it. With the younger players coming through, do

:14:40. > :14:45.they still see the FA Cup is the pinnacle of a career? For me, it's a

:14:46. > :14:49.special competition but I think kids located different these days. I want

:14:50. > :14:54.to go as far as I can in every competition. I'd like to look back

:14:55. > :14:59.when I finish and have something to show. Has the move been more

:15:00. > :15:06.difficult than you thought it would be? It's been different. We were

:15:07. > :15:09.used Upton Park. Moving to a bigger stadium, bigger expectations and a

:15:10. > :15:13.lot more fans each week. For us, there is no better way to give

:15:14. > :15:18.something back and getting a bit of silverware. The history around the

:15:19. > :15:22.stadium in our changing room. We want to create our own history.

:15:23. > :15:28.That's what you want to do, lift trophies. It's dangerous, a

:15:29. > :15:33.brilliant goal from Cresswell! What about your relationship with the

:15:34. > :15:42.manager? Has been first-class from me. He is hands-on everyday. He's

:15:43. > :15:46.been fantastic. Does he also crave success? I think every player and

:15:47. > :15:50.manager should crave success, whether that is winning the cup

:15:51. > :15:55.final or finishing in the top six in the league. To look back and have

:15:56. > :16:01.something to look at and say, yeah, I won the FA Cup, I'd snap your arm.

:16:02. > :16:07.It will not even be easy to get to the final or the FA Cup, but that is

:16:08. > :16:12.what we want. Some decent players in that West Ham starting line-up, and

:16:13. > :16:16.not just Cresswell. One or two of the players, Antonio, for example,

:16:17. > :16:21.scored a lot of goals. Big, strong, powerful. He has been the one player

:16:22. > :16:28.I think this season that has kicked on for West Ham after they

:16:29. > :16:33.overachieved last season. He has played in so many different

:16:34. > :16:36.positions, right wingback, right full-back, right side of midfield.

:16:37. > :16:40.He even played centre forward. When you get balls into the box and

:16:41. > :16:44.you've got a guy they know can do that, because normally they would

:16:45. > :16:48.like Andy Carroll to be on the end of that but, because of injuries or

:16:49. > :16:53.whatever, he hasn't been there. But he has been so versatile for his

:16:54. > :16:59.manager. He got his England call up, and rightly so, and he was unlucky

:17:00. > :17:03.that it was with Sam Allardyce, and I think he was probably more

:17:04. > :17:06.disappointed with Sam because of what happened with him, because it

:17:07. > :17:12.looked like he was starting to get in there. He has been the big plus

:17:13. > :17:16.for them this season. I like them, his attitude, that he is willing to

:17:17. > :17:23.play in different positions. He has been a big plus. Alan, you mentioned

:17:24. > :17:28.Andy Carroll. He is an interesting player, Frank. The hardest thing, it

:17:29. > :17:34.seems to me, is getting him on the pitch but, when he is fit, he is a

:17:35. > :17:40.threat. When he is fit, he is one of the best target men around. He is a

:17:41. > :17:46.sign of the intentions of how West Ham are going to go. Any time they

:17:47. > :17:49.get the ball in any wide area... You look at Man City and you worry that

:17:50. > :17:56.they might be a bit weak or soft. Andy Carroll is there to be is

:17:57. > :18:00.physical and score goals. It's an obvious team, but he has got quality

:18:01. > :18:05.when the ball drops around the box. He has got a great left foot. You

:18:06. > :18:09.almost feel sorry for him. When he gets a bit of a run, he starts

:18:10. > :18:13.scoring goals, then he gets injuries. It's horrible when you get

:18:14. > :18:19.injuries. Tonight is a great night for him. A great game, the FA Cup

:18:20. > :18:24.against Man City, a great time to show that he is back and he can may

:18:25. > :18:28.be bullied defenders. A great first season for Slaven Bilic. A bad start

:18:29. > :18:35.to this one, but they have bounced back OK. They have, but was

:18:36. > :18:38.worrying. In public, he said that the intensity in training wasn't

:18:39. > :18:42.there and they needed to get it back. I think they responded, but we

:18:43. > :18:47.will have to see how they go and whether they can build on that. The

:18:48. > :18:52.FA Cup, a good run for them would be brilliant. I think they overachieved

:18:53. > :18:56.last season, especially with the performances of Dimitri Payet, who

:18:57. > :19:04.has been nowhere near the standard he was last season. You played with

:19:05. > :19:08.Slaven Bilic. I did. He is humorous, he has character. Last year, Dimitri

:19:09. > :19:10.Payet was the player who made the difference, he lifted them. He has

:19:11. > :19:16.dropped his level and they are struggling. Kick-off is a few

:19:17. > :19:22.minutes away and we can hear now from Trevor Sinclair, who played for

:19:23. > :19:25.both clubs in his career. The amnesty is building. A full crowd

:19:26. > :19:32.expected. It hasn't been the smoothest move to a new stadium. How

:19:33. > :19:37.much emphasis to you put on a good FA Cup run to make this feel like

:19:38. > :19:41.home? You are right, moving training grounds as well, a lot to content

:19:42. > :19:49.with and adapt to. I think they have done that. It took a long time get a

:19:50. > :19:53.bit of momentum going and this place will be buzzing if they can get a

:19:54. > :19:59.good result. They are a very strong Man City side. And all of a sudden

:20:00. > :20:05.they will start to get a bit of history here. For Man City, is this

:20:06. > :20:10.a place that intimidates teams and, if not, can that happen? I don't

:20:11. > :20:13.think it's that type of ground. At Upton Park, the fans literally

:20:14. > :20:18.spilling onto the pitch. For me, this is a ground where you turn up

:20:19. > :20:22.and think, hello, I fancy this. A beautiful stadium, brilliant pitch,

:20:23. > :20:27.there has been a bit of rain this evening, so I think they will be

:20:28. > :20:33.looking at this team and thinking, we fancy this. Who is going to win

:20:34. > :20:39.tonight? I think Manchester City have put too much quality. He is

:20:40. > :20:44.going for Man City. From one Trevor to another, Sir Trevor Brooking. He

:20:45. > :20:49.has got his own stand. He takes them around where ever they play. A great

:20:50. > :20:55.guy. Always lovely to see him. The teams are starting to gather in the

:20:56. > :20:59.tunnel at the London Stadium. How do you see it going? I think it's great

:21:00. > :21:04.that both teams have put full strength teams out. I'm going to go

:21:05. > :21:09.for Manchester City. They probably have too much quality. Do you think

:21:10. > :21:12.the problem that they have taken a while to get comfortable with this

:21:13. > :21:19.stadium could work against West Ham, even in the FA Cup? If Manchester

:21:20. > :21:26.City play well, West Ham could find problems. I think West Ham. If they

:21:27. > :21:34.can keep pressure, get the ball to Andy Carroll, I am not sure that Man

:21:35. > :21:38.City will be able to deal with that. It is the first third-round FA Cup

:21:39. > :21:41.tie of 2017. West Ham against Manchester City. The commentators

:21:42. > :21:53.are Martin Keown and Guy Mowbray. Welcome to, for its FA Cup debut,

:21:54. > :21:56.the London, formerly Olympic Stadium. A venue originally built

:21:57. > :22:01.for something else, of course, as was the original Wembley Stadium,

:22:02. > :22:08.and West Ham played in the first ever FA Cup final their 94 years

:22:09. > :22:11.ago, the white horse final. In the here and now, third-round weekend

:22:12. > :22:17.starts here. The start of the road to Wembley for the top two -- top

:22:18. > :22:21.two tier teams in the country, and one of the biggies will go no

:22:22. > :22:28.further than this. They are hoping to win it. We see that by the

:22:29. > :22:36.strength of the line-ups named. All new stadium, and the greatest

:22:37. > :22:46.traditions survive, as you can hear, with the West Ham fans blowing

:22:47. > :22:51.bubbles where ever they go. Winston Reid leaves his West Ham players

:22:52. > :22:57.down the line of City opponents, and let's take another look at the West

:22:58. > :23:01.Ham team for tonight's club tie. Adrian is the cup keeper. It has

:23:02. > :23:04.been Darren Randolph for the last nine league games. The same defence

:23:05. > :23:07.that faced men united on Monday. Pedro Obiang plays his 50th West Ham

:23:08. > :23:18.game. On his 20th birthday, Andy Carroll

:23:19. > :23:23.brings up 100 matches in a West Ham shirt, 25 goals scored, one of them

:23:24. > :23:28.in the FA Cup final of 2012, as Liverpool lost to Chelsea, Frank

:23:29. > :23:32.Lampard and old. For City, Willy Caballero gets his tenth appearance

:23:33. > :23:36.of the season. John Stones is back in defence with Alex Kolarov making

:23:37. > :23:45.way. Fernandinho suspended, Fernando injured. Pablo Correa -- Pablo

:23:46. > :23:49.Zabaleta in midfield. Sergio Aguero, whose brilliant finish as a

:23:50. > :23:50.substitute against Burnley on Monday was just goal number 17 for the

:23:51. > :24:00.season already. Through the bubbles, you can just

:24:01. > :24:05.about see the greeting between Slaven Bilic and Pep Guardiola.

:24:06. > :24:12.Looking at the substitutes bench is, two names jump out for West Ham.

:24:13. > :24:16.Mark Noble, getting back to fitness after a knee injury and illness, and

:24:17. > :24:22.Dimitri Payet, who could be more than useful at some stage. For City,

:24:23. > :24:27.a welcome back to the fold for Fabian Delph, who has missed most of

:24:28. > :24:29.the campaign with a groin injury. Michael Oliver is the referee

:24:30. > :24:37.tonight, a first-time referee at this stadium. His first West Ham

:24:38. > :24:41.game of the season. His last was in May, when they lost to Swansea.

:24:42. > :24:45.Martin is alongside me to cast his eye over the two sides, and you have

:24:46. > :24:49.picked out two players who are always keen. Andy Carroll is one of

:24:50. > :25:01.the finest hitters of the ball. Only five starts this season. Can Stones

:25:02. > :25:05.and Otamendi deal with him? And Yaya Toure, this guy loses absolute class

:25:06. > :25:11.at times in midfield. He has shortened his game. He looks like he

:25:12. > :25:16.is on a motorbike in midfield, with such pace. He will play a major part

:25:17. > :25:29.for City for the rest of the season. We are just about ready to go.

:25:30. > :25:32.Sergio Aguero has a little bit of previous with West Ham this season,

:25:33. > :25:37.and elbow on Winston Reid when the sides met at the Etihad at the end

:25:38. > :25:42.of August, earning him is the suspension of the season. They need

:25:43. > :25:47.him on the field as much as possible to get the trophies at City. Pep

:25:48. > :25:56.Guardiola making that their business these days. In that game in the

:25:57. > :26:01.Premier League, City were 2-0 up inside 18 minutes, a superb first

:26:02. > :26:04.half performance, but they allowed West Ham back into bit, and Slaven

:26:05. > :26:09.Bilic has been saying that, since then, he has seen something of the

:26:10. > :26:12.City game that can be got at. West Ham are going to try, with sloppy

:26:13. > :26:21.and they coolly, easily beating De Bruyne. -- with Sofiane Feghouli.

:26:22. > :26:29.Nowhere near the goal. He started well. Cut inside with a play on the

:26:30. > :26:39.right-hand side. Good footwork, but wild with that shot. Feghouli so

:26:40. > :26:46.unlucky to see his game cut short early against men united on Monday.

:26:47. > :26:47.That red card was rescinded. No such luck for Fernandinho. He is starting

:26:48. > :26:59.a four-game suspension. A lot of talk about the atmosphere

:27:00. > :27:04.it's generated. I was here for the Olympics, lucky enough to be here,

:27:05. > :27:10.and almost surreal to see a football match. But the is cracking. We were

:27:11. > :27:15.told it would be close to a sell-out. -- the atmosphere is

:27:16. > :27:19.cracking. 9000 Manchester City fans, there or thereabouts, in attendance.

:27:20. > :27:27.Might be coming here again on February the 1st on a weeknight for

:27:28. > :27:32.a Premier League game. Not the same intimidation you had at Upton Park.

:27:33. > :27:38.That was a very special ground. I am sure you took a fair bit of that on

:27:39. > :27:43.your visits. I am sure of that. I don't think I was a favourite there.

:27:44. > :27:44.Not sure I was a favourite anywhere, really! You are a favourite with us,

:27:45. > :27:58.Mark. Interesting how Guardiola likes to

:27:59. > :28:07.find a position in midfield for his full-backs. Zabaleta playing

:28:08. > :28:13.alongside Yaya Toure. Sterling took on Winston Reid but couldn't get the

:28:14. > :28:26.better of him. It's all very left side for City at the moment.

:28:27. > :28:33.Took a bit of a risk looking for Adrian, and Adrian wasn't happy with

:28:34. > :28:38.the backpass, with Sergio Aguero in close attendance.

:28:39. > :29:00.City are looking for Silva and De Bruyne to pull the strings in there.

:29:01. > :29:05.The ball given away by City. Carroll may need a bit of help soon. Blocked

:29:06. > :29:15.by Otamendi. Not ruled worthy of a foul.

:29:16. > :29:25.Lanzini in to challenge, but that will be a Manchester City free kick.

:29:26. > :29:31.Guardiola won two German Cups, winning the double in his years at

:29:32. > :29:36.Bayern Munich. He picked a strong side in every round for them last

:29:37. > :29:41.season. He is a serial trophy winner so he is going to take this

:29:42. > :29:50.seriously. He has demonstrated that with the team he put out.

:29:51. > :29:56.The assistant referee raised his flag.

:29:57. > :30:01.At the weekend he scored a rare goal, as well. All three of his

:30:02. > :30:06.Manchester City goals have been scored with his right foot.

:30:07. > :30:40.Stones using his right foot. Only just enough on it to find Caballero.

:30:41. > :30:45.Silva in that central role but De Bruyne is the one I think they need

:30:46. > :30:49.to get to that central position. Sterling making his way to the

:30:50. > :30:52.penalty area. Well challenged by Nordtveit but it is a City corner.

:30:53. > :30:57.Now De Bruyne will move forward for the first time all evening to take

:30:58. > :31:01.the corner. This is where Sterling drifts past the defender. Nordtveit

:31:02. > :31:08.doing very well there. Certainly better than he did against Rashford

:31:09. > :31:14.at the weekend. De Bruyne delivery. It's headed over

:31:15. > :31:23.the top by the incoming John Stones. Yet to score for City. Only got the

:31:24. > :31:27.one in 94 games for Everton. Well, it's an ambitious ball whipped in.

:31:28. > :31:34.He can't get the angle he needs. It's an area that he can improve in

:31:35. > :31:41.at both ends. You look at John Terry and Cahills who score goals

:31:42. > :31:44.regularly, you have to chip in for your team. Do you go along with the

:31:45. > :31:49.opinion he is going to be a fine player? Tell us in a minute because

:31:50. > :31:51.West Ham might test them here. He is one of the most talked about

:31:52. > :32:05.players in English football. Aguero came in. He will challenge

:32:06. > :32:10.again. Seemed to catch Ogbonna who hobbled

:32:11. > :32:18.a little after the challenge. Stones doesn't get it properly away.

:32:19. > :32:25.De Bruyne fires one forward for Silva to chase.

:32:26. > :32:29.Aguero is waiting outside the area. Zabaleta is there with him. Here

:32:30. > :32:41.comes Zabaleta! It's blocked. Reid got in the way of

:32:42. > :32:45.it. Lovely ball from De Bruyne there the way he moved that out to the

:32:46. > :32:51.wing. Great vision. When he is in a central position, surely you have to

:32:52. > :32:58.play him there. It's an open game to start. Feghouli

:32:59. > :33:04.fires one over. It escapes Cresswell. Cresswell there just

:33:05. > :33:09.switching off. A great switch field pass. Look at this for a ball from

:33:10. > :33:15.De Bruyne. Then it's the composure. Silva is waiting for the movement in

:33:16. > :33:19.the box. Zabaleta, unusually so, gets in there. Gets in the way of

:33:20. > :33:42.it, Reid. He will only find Caballero.

:33:43. > :33:45.That's the outlet, Cresswell getting down that left side. Just better

:33:46. > :33:48.quality, that's what Carroll wants. That's why he is in the team

:33:49. > :33:55.tonight. De Bruyne has started in a really

:33:56. > :34:03.deep position. Yeah, I think they want to get him on the ball there.

:34:04. > :34:06.It's interesting interesting Yaya is sitting deep.

:34:07. > :34:31.We talked about Stones earlier. His passing is excellent. It's

:34:32. > :34:35.minimising your mistakes. He is a young man. We have to get off his

:34:36. > :34:40.back a little bit. He has to make the right decisions. Don't be around

:34:41. > :34:43.mistakes, minimise those and you become a top player. Silva has been

:34:44. > :34:52.one of those for quite sometime. West Ham are really giving too much

:34:53. > :35:22.space away. Need to get tighter. Zabaleta has seen plenty of the ball

:35:23. > :35:31.in that midfield position. De Bruyne popping up the other side.

:35:32. > :35:39.That was a risky ball back in with Sterling lurking.

:35:40. > :35:44.Just being smothered. Sloppy there. West Ham need to get tighter and do

:35:45. > :35:50.better with the ball when they get it. Might be a chance for Fernandes

:35:51. > :36:01.and now Feghouli. Antonio pulls away to the left.

:36:02. > :36:31.Sagna makes the block. Aguero picks up the pace.

:36:32. > :36:37.An important interception there from Obiang.

:36:38. > :36:46.Giving it away too easily, West Ham. All set up just to sit in, this

:36:47. > :36:52.fella hasn't reached the heights of last season, giving him a rest

:36:53. > :36:58.tonight. He may play a part towards the end of this game. Slaven Bilic

:36:59. > :37:05.signed as a player from West Ham from Germany 21 years ago yesterday.

:37:06. > :37:13.As a player he didn't see West Ham enjoy too much success in the FA

:37:14. > :37:28.Cup. During his time they were knocked out by Grimsby and Wrexham.

:37:29. > :37:38.Silva! Good save by the legs of Adrian.

:37:39. > :37:41.He has plenty to say to his defenders. Manchester City are

:37:42. > :37:47.looking menacing. He should have. Reid has come to the rescue once

:37:48. > :37:53.more. It's all too loose there. Too much space for Manchester City. I

:37:54. > :38:00.thought at first Clichy was on for another right foot goal. It shows

:38:01. > :38:02.the intention. Both fullbacks of City getting down the flanks early

:38:03. > :38:15.on. Blocked by Reid. He has been West

:38:16. > :38:26.Ham's most important player, as he is in many a game.

:38:27. > :38:37.Lanzini again. Nordtveit forward in support.

:38:38. > :38:47.Feghouli trying to dance his way past Clichy.

:38:48. > :38:55.That's deflected, the Antonio shot. Beaten away by Caballero. Caballero

:38:56. > :38:59.does really well. A deflection off John Stones. Better for West Ham.

:39:00. > :39:40.The crowd have woken up with them. I think the City players are looking

:39:41. > :39:47.for that movement at the top of the team. Maybe Aguero making that run

:39:48. > :39:53.beyond the defence. It's very safe at the moment. Sdab has burst

:39:54. > :39:58.forward but has been ignored. -- Zabaleta.

:39:59. > :40:02.De Bruyne won't look that way, he will only look to the middle. Reid

:40:03. > :40:06.in the right place once more for West Ham. We said that a few times

:40:07. > :40:16.already. Adrian and Caballero have both been

:40:17. > :40:34.forced into saves. West Ham are happy to let City have

:40:35. > :40:50.the ball in these areas. Just keeping their shape.

:40:51. > :40:57.Thought he controlled it beautifully but controlled it the wrong side of

:40:58. > :41:02.the line. As if there is not enough pitch here, it's a huge pitch. This

:41:03. > :41:07.is Adrian's save here with his feet. Not played for a while. A little

:41:08. > :41:13.tester for him. Expect him to make that. Just at the other end here,

:41:14. > :41:16.Antonio's shot comes off Stones. The keeper reacts really well there.

:41:17. > :41:25.Pushes it, though, back into the area. Keeps it live. Caballero's

:41:26. > :41:39.last FA Cup appearance was in that 5-1 defeat at Chelsea in the 5th

:41:40. > :41:51.round last season when Pellegrini effectively said bye to the Cup.

:41:52. > :41:56.It wasn't long after that he was the hero of the league Cup serving in

:41:57. > :42:04.the penalty shoot-out against Liverpool.

:42:05. > :42:08.I think it's right with goalkeepers, number two, they're up and down the

:42:09. > :42:14.length of the country, give them a chance to play. He's never really

:42:15. > :42:20.let them down. At the start he took over from Joe Hart and then the new

:42:21. > :42:27.signing came in, but a good start for him tonight. Loads of room on

:42:28. > :42:41.the left for Cresswell. De Bruyne closes down. Feghouli. In

:42:42. > :42:45.towards Antonio and Carroll. Here comes Cresswell. It's blocked by

:42:46. > :42:49.Sagna. It's West Ham's turn to look the more threatening team. It comes

:42:50. > :42:52.from a cross, as well. Once they start getting that ball in there

:42:53. > :42:56.they're very threatening. Carroll is not interested in anything, he is

:42:57. > :43:12.peeling off to the back post. Feghouli has put in another tester

:43:13. > :43:22.with Carroll around. That's a push. Almost desperate to get on the end

:43:23. > :43:28.of that one. Feghouli on this right side just whips one in. Carroll

:43:29. > :43:37.really is never going to make that. It's a foul on Sagna. A little push

:43:38. > :43:41.in the back. That's why he is in there, though, he wants to rein

:43:42. > :43:47.those crosses in for him. Better service will cause problems. Given

:43:48. > :43:48.away by Stones. Started well down the West Ham

:43:49. > :44:00.right. Nordtveit in quickly. And tripped by

:44:01. > :44:06.Sterling. Free kick for West Ham. Here is a chance to put one in for

:44:07. > :44:14.Carroll or maybe Antonio. For sure. This is Sterling just over

:44:15. > :44:23.the top of the ball. A little bit naughty there. It was City's

:44:24. > :44:31.standout player in the league meeting in August, scored two of the

:44:32. > :44:36.three goals that they put past The Hammers.

:44:37. > :44:39.Not quite the aerial service that the number nine and number 30

:44:40. > :44:44.demand. It's not worked for West Ham. A goal kick for City. City were

:44:45. > :44:49.trying to keep West Ham out of their own penalty box, as high as they

:44:50. > :44:55.possibly can, the ball is whipped in.

:44:56. > :45:05.Difficult to see who that ball comes off.

:45:06. > :45:11.Just about retrieved by Otamendi, but it's going to be a West Ham

:45:12. > :45:21.throw. Not the best ball back in the Argentine defender.

:45:22. > :45:28.Antonio plays it back towards Obiang.

:45:29. > :45:36.Caballero started to come for that. It's Antonio who was having to get

:45:37. > :45:43.high above Otamendi and try and watch the ball in full flight as

:45:44. > :45:47.well. Antonio is so game, quite unorthodox, but if anything is going

:45:48. > :45:52.to happen for West Ham, you feel it may come from them. Great spring,

:45:53. > :45:56.just can't get the direction. He has scored a lot of goals with his head

:45:57. > :46:03.in the last year or so. I think, if the referee had had a view on that,

:46:04. > :46:09.it would have been a free kick to City, because he had a hold on

:46:10. > :46:14.Otamendi's shirt. West Ham are finding some sort of rhythm. They

:46:15. > :46:21.are, impressive how they are passing the ball and switching the ball very

:46:22. > :46:22.well. Just a little too hard -- too high for Cresswell. A Manchester

:46:23. > :46:54.City throw. Some of the 9000 City bands singing

:46:55. > :47:01.their potion of Glad All Over. -- their version.

:47:02. > :47:10.It will drift away for a City throw. It's the switch ball again. Obiang

:47:11. > :47:50.unlucky, good tackle from Fernandes in that midfield.

:47:51. > :47:59.They don't mind switching the ball every which way to find a way to get

:48:00. > :48:07.through. They need to get that ball into Aguero's feet at times. Hardly

:48:08. > :48:13.seen him in the game so far. There is Sergio Aguero. And Pablo

:48:14. > :48:14.Zabaleta, completing the Argentine one, two, three, but he has given it

:48:15. > :48:30.away. Squirted back to Angelo Ogbonna, who

:48:31. > :48:36.in turn will find a dream. A bit of pace has gone out of the game in the

:48:37. > :48:41.last few minutes. I think West Ham have grown in confidence. John

:48:42. > :48:44.Stones takes no chances after Michael Oliver ruled no foul after

:48:45. > :48:52.the collision between Otamendi and Carroll. It was almost as if to

:48:53. > :48:59.emphasise the point, I'm happy putting it in the stand if I have

:49:00. > :49:07.to. He smashed that one into his head, didn't he -- into Row Z,

:49:08. > :49:09.didn't he? It looked like he was trying to reach the top of the orbit

:49:10. > :49:38.with that clearance. Aguero coming back into his own half

:49:39. > :49:45.for pretty much the first time tonight.

:49:46. > :49:54.Obiang is still down after the brush with Yaya Toure. Aguero wants it.

:49:55. > :50:00.Sergio Aguero with some wonderful control. Here comes Silva to help

:50:01. > :50:06.him out. Nearly came to Sterling. Winston Reid wanting to put the ball

:50:07. > :50:12.out so that Obiang can receive some treatment. He does need a bit of

:50:13. > :50:18.medical assistance from the sidelines. Well, he wins the ball

:50:19. > :50:30.well to begin with. He is coming out with it. Maybe it catches him on the

:50:31. > :50:35.shin. Toure's followed through. Not even sure if he is wearing shin

:50:36. > :50:44.pads. He should boo. -- he should be.

:50:45. > :51:06.A challenge by Sagna, and so the ball is straight out for a City

:51:07. > :51:10.throw in. Every so often, he has one of those games, as displayed last

:51:11. > :51:15.April against Arsenal, where he ripped in three goals in a seven

:51:16. > :51:20.minute spell. He was awesome that day. He can be capable of that, but

:51:21. > :51:25.you've got to give him the service. Slaven Bilic was talking about the

:51:26. > :51:28.high press. I'm not sure how Andy Carroll does that one. They haven't

:51:29. > :51:32.particularly pressed the ball anyway. They've got to get better

:51:33. > :51:43.service to him in those wide positions. Toure collected it OK. If

:51:44. > :51:50.I was playing against Aguero, I'd be quite happy to see him in a deep

:51:51. > :51:53.position. Maybe not there. Sterling tried to walk his way through to

:51:54. > :52:02.goal. A great challenge from Winston Reid. Well, that is an awesome

:52:03. > :52:06.recovery tackle. Good interchange passing from Sterling, cutting

:52:07. > :52:08.inside. Winston Reid has to nail that tackle, no mistake. Beautifully

:52:09. > :52:21.timed. De Bruyne with the corner. Too high.

:52:22. > :52:29.Owns Mac and Otamendi. Aguero! Tipped over the bar by Adrian. Great

:52:30. > :52:36.effort and a wonderful save. Look at Aguero swivel on this. It falls to

:52:37. > :52:41.him, great technique. And a save to match. The man most likely to score

:52:42. > :52:49.tonight, you'd think, coming closest. In from De Bruyne. That is

:52:50. > :52:58.more routine for Adrian from Otamendi's header.

:52:59. > :53:08.A good angle for the keeper. It gives him confidence. Watching that

:53:09. > :53:16.ball onto his foot. Carroll helps it on, but only to Clichy. Zabaleta

:53:17. > :53:17.fouled by Carroll. A lot of headshaking going on from the West

:53:18. > :53:31.Ham number nine. Who will be the happier? At the

:53:32. > :53:36.moment, maybe Slaven Bilic is content that they are still in the

:53:37. > :53:41.game. City, who are only five points behind Chelsea at the top of the

:53:42. > :53:44.table, no great panic for them, but there are some very good players in

:53:45. > :53:50.the City team and they have been kept at bay at the moment. Silva

:53:51. > :53:54.wanders away from Lanzini and keeps on wondering. The full-back was a

:53:55. > :54:01.shrug of the ball back intended for Aguero. Played by Obiang. At times,

:54:02. > :54:06.it's starting to look more difficult for West Ham to defend. It is.

:54:07. > :54:19.Silva, a great runner with the ball. They keep getting to that byline.

:54:20. > :54:25.Edimilson Fernandes stops the ball getting anywhere near De Bruyne. A

:54:26. > :54:30.shimmy away and stop a slip from Qwest well -- Cresswell allowing

:54:31. > :54:54.Zabaleta to take it up. You can see Sterling making that

:54:55. > :55:03.wrong. He is going central, looking to make that run aeons the West Ham

:55:04. > :55:11.back four. That run beyond the West Ham back four. Nordtveit has a

:55:12. > :55:19.problem. Reid helps him out by putting it out. Doing to men's jobs

:55:20. > :55:46.at times. Sterling, with his pace, and that threat behind.

:55:47. > :55:58.Feghouli sort of came out to put the pressure on. Stones over De Bruyne.

:55:59. > :56:05.Stones over that one. Interesting watching Guardiola from the side. He

:56:06. > :56:09.seems quite calm tonight. He has been quite patient. I don't think it

:56:10. > :56:13.was his finest hour, the interview he gave after the midweek games. He

:56:14. > :56:21.has settled down a bit. Starting to see a bit more purpose and intention

:56:22. > :56:27.from his team. Going at people. So far, City having almost two thirds

:56:28. > :56:36.of the ball. Nothing to show for it yet. But it could quickly change.

:56:37. > :56:44.That was a risky one, and it is a penalty for City. Pablo Zabaleta won

:56:45. > :56:49.the race to the ball, and in being clipped, Michael Oliver determined

:56:50. > :56:54.straightaway that it should be a spot kick for the men in sky blue.

:56:55. > :57:04.Looking at it here, Obiang just catches him. We will see better from

:57:05. > :57:13.this angle. It is a clip of the heels. Maybe a soft one, but it

:57:14. > :57:19.catches him. Michael Oliver didn't hesitate, straightaway blowing his

:57:20. > :57:23.whistle and pointing at the spot. Ogbonna is still protesting. Winston

:57:24. > :57:30.Reid had a word. He isn't getting a lot of support from his team-mates.

:57:31. > :57:34.He is going to talk to the linesman -- Ogbonna is saying, go and talk to

:57:35. > :57:44.the linesman, but he has given it and he isn't going to change his

:57:45. > :57:49.mind now. Yaya Toure has, in the Premier League, a perfect record,

:57:50. > :57:50.ten out of ten from the spot. Can he give City the lead in the FA Cup

:57:51. > :58:01.third round tonight? That is the result it usually is

:58:02. > :58:10.when he kicks the ball from 12 yards. That is his favourite spot.

:58:11. > :58:15.An emphatic penalty. The big man brought back into the side in

:58:16. > :58:19.November to play, you would think, a big part in the rest of City's

:58:20. > :58:24.season, and he has started it in the FA Cup tonight. He has been a big

:58:25. > :58:31.player in their recent history. One of their number one men, never in

:58:32. > :58:41.doubt. Plenty of power, slots it home, keeper no chance.

:58:42. > :58:49.All the noise at the London Stadium at the moment is Manchester City

:58:50. > :58:53.noise. What do you make of the call, Martin? It's very close. To be

:58:54. > :58:57.honest, I don't think I'd be particularly happy if a foul was

:58:58. > :59:06.given against me for that challenge, but there is an element of contact

:59:07. > :59:10.to it. Controversial. Zabaleta was impeded, but deliberately so? Does

:59:11. > :59:16.that matter? He definitely caught him. He was brought crashing to the

:59:17. > :59:21.ground. Pep Guardiola will be contented with what he has seen so

:59:22. > :59:28.far tonight. West Ham 0, Manchester City 1. Toure has his fourth goal of

:59:29. > :59:33.the season. The man who scored the winning goals in the semifinal and

:59:34. > :59:38.final when Manchester City last won the FA Cup, in 2011. West Ham trying

:59:39. > :59:45.to get back quickly. Caballero makes the save will stop Feghouli with the

:59:46. > :59:52.goal at his mercy. West Ham will be hard pushed to get a better

:59:53. > :59:56.opportunity all evening. Agonising. Feghouli, Antonio, he is the man we

:59:57. > :00:01.talked about, he cut inside and forces the save and you think he is

:00:02. > :00:11.going to tap it in. Somehow, he puts it wide.

:00:12. > :00:16.Caballero looked as though he thought that's me, I am done here.

:00:17. > :00:25.He was waiting for that to hit the back of the net. Antonio again, he

:00:26. > :00:35.has that threat, pace, power, unpredictability. Feghouli, you

:00:36. > :00:41.can't keep him out of the headlines at the moment. Unlucky to be sent

:00:42. > :00:49.off on Monday. Perhaps this wasn't unlucky. He puts him off, Clichy. He

:00:50. > :00:55.is stabbing at that in the dark. Top players put those away. He can't

:00:56. > :01:02.believe he missed that, Slaven Bilic.

:01:03. > :01:11.Slaven Bilic is just making inquiries as to whether Feghouli was

:01:12. > :01:17.fouled in trying to put that in. Certainly turned and asked the

:01:18. > :01:26.question towards those who have the benefit of monitors down in the

:01:27. > :01:31.tunnel. Yeah, he is clutching at straws there a little bit.

:01:32. > :01:47.A City throw. Slaven Bilic may feel cheap penalties are the order of the

:01:48. > :01:56.day, maybe after that one they conceded.

:01:57. > :02:05.Straight at Adrian. De Bruyne in that central position.

:02:06. > :02:38.Not frightened to shoot from anywhere.

:02:39. > :02:49.Carroll again. Antonio.

:02:50. > :02:56.Much better from West Ham, pressing the ball. Reid again coming up from

:02:57. > :03:06.the back. Silva sells Aguero short. Reid is coming again.

:03:07. > :03:09.Antonio. Sagna is strong against him. A bit

:03:10. > :03:20.of character coming in now from West Ham.

:03:21. > :03:25.Stones has given the ball back to West Ham with Fernandes. West Ham's

:03:26. > :04:04.noise level is rising. Reid realised that Sterling was

:04:05. > :04:09.going to cut off the pass. He is showing composure, Reid. Not just

:04:10. > :04:14.the blocks and interceptions he is getting, coming out with the ball.

:04:15. > :04:19.Cresswell is still forward down the left. Sagna makes the block. I would

:04:20. > :04:23.like to see Lanzini pulling the strings more for West Ham in that

:04:24. > :04:59.midfield. Carroll makes his way into the

:05:00. > :05:06.middle. And will stay there for the West Ham corner. The volume

:05:07. > :05:12.certainly goes up when Carroll lays those balls off to Cresswell. This

:05:13. > :05:24.one will be delivered in. Looking for the big man. Using Reid as a

:05:25. > :05:28.shield to make his run. Stones went up for it. Caballero

:05:29. > :05:57.will now have the time to come and catch.

:05:58. > :06:02.Sagna to Aguero. Back to Sagna again. Towards

:06:03. > :06:05.Sterling! What a goal that is.

:06:06. > :06:10.From one end of the field to the other.

:06:11. > :06:17.Manchester City have moved the ball quite beautifully to take a 2-0

:06:18. > :06:24.lead. I mean, it was fantastic build-up

:06:25. > :06:29.from Manchester City. Sterling. The distance he is covering here, look.

:06:30. > :06:33.Great ball into the channel. Sagna gives it and goes. Gets it back.

:06:34. > :06:39.Look at this for a cross. It's perfect! It's saying put me in the

:06:40. > :06:45.back of the net. It's a goal. It's a peach of a pass. Beautiful ball into

:06:46. > :06:54.there. Just really... Actually comes off the defender. Sterling is

:06:55. > :06:59.denied. Yeah, it's Nordtveit with an own goal. Take nothing away from the

:07:00. > :07:03.build-up. City had that flowing rhythm right from the back to the

:07:04. > :07:10.front. Sterling was gutted he didn't get the final touch. But it's such a

:07:11. > :07:20.quality pass there. The defender is forced into that major error.

:07:21. > :07:21.Caballero only just gets there. Fired by Antonio with Lanzini saying

:07:22. > :07:45.leave it to me. It's just the quality of the ball

:07:46. > :07:49.from West Ham, Carroll surviving on scraps. Now City could run away with

:07:50. > :07:54.it here. It's over to Silva! It's three for Manchester City.

:07:55. > :08:03.The Cup tie could be all over before it's halfway through.

:08:04. > :08:06.Once again the ball has been moved quickly from Pep Guardiola's team

:08:07. > :08:12.penalty area, the full length of the field. West Ham opened up. West Ham

:08:13. > :08:16.perhaps saying bye to the FA Cup at the first hurdle.

:08:17. > :08:24.Well, it's almost embarrassing from a West Ham point of view. Sterling

:08:25. > :08:27.in that central position again. Just gets it back. They've runners coming

:08:28. > :08:32.from deep. This is almost embarrassing. Stays on side. Look at

:08:33. > :08:41.the composure. Just a little tap-in. Makes it look so easy. And it is

:08:42. > :08:48.easy. Embarrassing for West Ham. Two goals in a two-minute spell for

:08:49. > :08:57.Manchester City. Pep Guardiola went big tonight, in

:08:58. > :09:04.terms of team selection. West Ham night 0, Manchester City 3. The

:09:05. > :09:10.fourth round beckons for the boys in blue already. Nothing else now for

:09:11. > :09:13.West Ham other than to go for broke. We might be seeing payet sooner than

:09:14. > :09:22.we might otherwise have done in the second half.

:09:23. > :09:27.They have that quality, City, on the pitch. We talked about it earlier.

:09:28. > :09:32.Which manager would be happier once they switched on, City, it's the

:09:33. > :09:35.class of the players that they have. Their movement, their pace. To be

:09:36. > :09:41.fair, you are looking at West Ham just trying to get the ball wide and

:09:42. > :09:45.put it in the box. Manchester City playing with so much expression and

:09:46. > :10:06.movement and fluidity. Carroll offside as he helps it on to

:10:07. > :10:15.Antonio. Nothing going West Ham's way right now. The Cup tie certainly

:10:16. > :10:21.isn't. Don't think it's going to be 1980 all over again this season, not

:10:22. > :10:25.unless there is the most miraculous turnaround after half-time. Against

:10:26. > :10:32.City playing like this, that's very unlikely.

:10:33. > :10:40.They look like the away team. I know it's a new stadium, but...

:10:41. > :10:43.City are way better. You said before the match that you fancied City's

:10:44. > :10:50.players to really enjoy this stadium. I am trying as a player,

:10:51. > :10:54.you look back to your previous experiences, playing against Lazio

:10:55. > :10:58.in the Roma stadium, the atmosphere wasn't like this, but there's so

:10:59. > :11:01.much space, you don't feel under pressure. Upton Park, I am sure the

:11:02. > :11:07.players would love to go back to that now, but this is the future. At

:11:08. > :11:19.the moment it's not a comfortable one.

:11:20. > :11:25.There are talking points, of course. The penalty will be disputed by

:11:26. > :11:31.some. The goal that got City going. Then at 1-0 Feghouli had practically

:11:32. > :12:02.an open goal and a chance of a quick equaliser.

:12:03. > :12:11.Silva through to Aguero. Sterling in the box for him.

:12:12. > :12:20.Aguero. Too high for Sterling. Antonio clear.

:12:21. > :12:27.Won't be clear for long. Half-time can't come soon enough for

:12:28. > :12:31.Slaven Bilic. It's seconds away. It must be three and no more by the

:12:32. > :12:35.break for West Ham. Michael Oliver has had a look at the watches. That

:12:36. > :12:40.will do it in the first FA Cup tie to be played at the London Stadium.

:12:41. > :12:43.It looks highly like lie it will be the last this season because

:12:44. > :12:49.Manchester City have powered away, taking the lead through a Toure

:12:50. > :12:52.penalty. The unlucky Nordtveit then bundled the ball into his own net

:12:53. > :12:59.under pressure from Sterling. Silva might have put the game beyond the

:13:00. > :13:06.home STUDIO: Splendid view there of the

:13:07. > :13:13.stadium. Not so splendid for West Ham, trailing 3-0. It took a while

:13:14. > :13:16.for the game to warm up but once City got flowing they played some

:13:17. > :13:20.stuff. Their passing and movement and one-touch football has been too

:13:21. > :13:25.much for West Ham. Certainly in the last 15, 20 minutes. Yes the penalty

:13:26. > :13:37.is debatable but after that the way West Ham heads went down is alarming

:13:38. > :13:43.for their fans and manager. Is this a case of the magnificence of

:13:44. > :13:46.Manchester City's football? We were worried that possession was slow.

:13:47. > :13:49.The two chances before the penalty was about runners. Instead of

:13:50. > :13:52.playing position they got people running behind and the moment they

:13:53. > :13:57.started doing that the game opened up for them. West Ham, it's all been

:13:58. > :14:00.too much for them. I thought with Carroll playing the best chance

:14:01. > :14:08.they've got is to be tight to them and they weren't nowhere near. Win

:14:09. > :14:11.the ball in areas where they could release Cresswell and Feghouli.

:14:12. > :14:14.They've been nowhere near it. The turning point obviously is the

:14:15. > :14:16.penalty. Zabaleta is playing a different position which is

:14:17. > :14:20.interesting, the fact he is playing midfield. We are used to seeing him

:14:21. > :14:23.as a fullback. He has made a difference. He is playing the

:14:24. > :14:30.position very well midfield. This is early on. An excellent chance

:14:31. > :14:34.blocked from West Ham's best player, a centre-half, Reid. That's another

:14:35. > :14:44.forward run there. I don't think that's a penalty. I have looked at

:14:45. > :14:51.it a couple of times. I don't see how he goes to tackle him. He

:14:52. > :14:58.doesn't attempt to. I don't think it's a penalty. From that moment

:14:59. > :15:06.He has never missed a penalty for Manchester City. Let's have another

:15:07. > :15:13.look at this decision. Frank? I think I am on my own here. I think

:15:14. > :15:17.Zabaleta was pretty clever. There is contact. It is a contact sport. You

:15:18. > :15:22.don't necessarily have to touch him for him to go down for a penalty. I

:15:23. > :15:27.don't think Ogbonna goes to even touch the ball. I think it's a bit

:15:28. > :15:33.clumsy. Zabaleta has got the touch. When you get the touch on the second

:15:34. > :15:39.foot, that is experience. I'm not saying it's clear-cut. It's so hard

:15:40. > :15:44.to define. You see penalty sometimes wear a forward is running ahead of a

:15:45. > :15:46.defender and he flicks his back leg up, catches him and goes down added

:15:47. > :15:56.a penalty. Sometimes totally accidental. Should it be a penalty?

:15:57. > :15:59.As much as Zabaleta's experience in a way has bought that penalty,

:16:00. > :16:05.you've got to see that he's not made a challenge, he's not made a

:16:06. > :16:13.challenge to try and win the ball. Zabaleta's momentum has taken him

:16:14. > :16:17.that way. No intention. People keep going on about video replays. Three

:16:18. > :16:28.people think it's a penalty, one doesn't. How do you settle it? 3-1

:16:29. > :16:33.win. You don't get a vote. 2-1 then. Still a majority! An own goal, but

:16:34. > :16:40.some great build-up play from Manchester City. This is when City

:16:41. > :16:45.started to kick in. People running from behind, and here it is Sagna.

:16:46. > :16:53.He runs, he keeps moving, and it opens it up. Great goal, great play.

:16:54. > :16:56.At first, we think Sterling gets a touch, but he puts the defender

:16:57. > :17:06.under so much pressure that he has no choice but to try and do it. Lee

:17:07. > :17:12.unbelievable ball in. Brilliant. Right in between the goalkeeper and

:17:13. > :17:16.defender, it's amazing. Two minutes later, David Silva makes it three.

:17:17. > :17:21.More good Manchester City play. I like the calmness at the end. West

:17:22. > :17:26.Ham, everybody has time on the ball, the kind of space he's got, nobody

:17:27. > :17:32.going with him, Zabaleta, David Silva, it's just class. Just

:17:33. > :17:38.quality. By now, West Ham are all over the place. They are passing,

:17:39. > :17:43.they are moving both with and without the ball, and it's been

:17:44. > :17:48.superb, certainly in the last 15 or 20 minutes. This is the kind of

:17:49. > :17:53.Guardiola football that we seen in flashes. We saw a lot at the start

:17:54. > :17:57.of the season. This could be Barcelona, couldn't it? He has got a

:17:58. > :18:02.direct philosophy and he wants to recreate it here. It will take time,

:18:03. > :18:07.but when you see it for 20 minutes like that, you see the endgame for

:18:08. > :18:13.them. You give a team of that quality that time and space, you

:18:14. > :18:18.will get hammered, like West Ham are experiencing. They did it to Arsenal

:18:19. > :18:22.few weeks ago. They have had one two opportunities, which fell at

:18:23. > :18:30.important stages, not when they were 3-0 down. They have. A decent

:18:31. > :18:33.effort. The keeper should save it. It takes a deflection, but not

:18:34. > :18:43.enough to disturb him. Antonio Barragan. -- Antonio again. He seems

:18:44. > :18:49.to give him the freedom of the pitch there and says, go on, in an effort

:18:50. > :18:53.on goal. When you look at it here, with John Stones, you are thinking,

:18:54. > :18:58.he has to make a lunging challenge, surely. The first challenge, he gets

:18:59. > :19:04.a little nick on him, but I don't think he gets close enough. Slaven

:19:05. > :19:09.Bilic was appealing for a penalty. What do you think? He gets to the

:19:10. > :19:16.ball first. That's irrelevant. If it's a foul, it's a foul. He has

:19:17. > :19:20.already kicked the ball! Since when has that been a law? No, because he

:19:21. > :19:27.has already kicked the ball. He should get the ball in the net. He

:19:28. > :19:34.wouldn't need to. But he's already kicked the ball. Am I missing

:19:35. > :19:44.something? It's not a foul, it's not a pal. Not unanimous. Frustrated by

:19:45. > :19:48.a lot of the West Ham performance but particularly the delivery.

:19:49. > :19:52.You've got Andy Carroll in the team for these reasons. Cresswell, for

:19:53. > :19:59.me, brilliant left foot, too close to the keeper, hang it up for him to

:20:00. > :20:06.attack. They have been occasions when they could have done something.

:20:07. > :20:12.He is fouled here. But the ball had already gone. This is what Andy

:20:13. > :20:16.Carroll is in the team for. He has got to put that one in there. Give

:20:17. > :20:23.him a chance to attack it. Maybe Antonio can get close at the end. He

:20:24. > :20:27.kicks it out of play! Here, Antonio, a great run, Andy Carroll stops

:20:28. > :20:31.here, so I can't understand what the ploy is the West Ham. If you are

:20:32. > :20:34.going to put the ball up in the air, somebody has to get on the end of

:20:35. > :20:39.it. And they are not even doing that. I don't know where they go

:20:40. > :20:44.from here, and I kicked them at the start of the game! I'm doing all

:20:45. > :20:52.right, aren't I? -- I tipped them. At the weekend, west...

:20:53. > :21:01.I grew up in a footballing family and every year the day of the FA Cup

:21:02. > :21:06.was always very special. My first cup final, we took the lead early on

:21:07. > :21:11.through Clive Alan and scored a really good goal. Dave Bennett

:21:12. > :21:14.equalised for Coventry and, before half-time, Chris Waddle whipped in a

:21:15. > :21:20.free kick. We both threw ourselves at the ball and it just bounced over

:21:21. > :21:25.the line. Walking in at half-time and there it is, up in lights,

:21:26. > :21:35.Tottenham 2, Coventry 1, little did I know. Brilliant goal! It's an own

:21:36. > :21:40.goal! The only cup final Spurs have ever lost and I scored the winning

:21:41. > :21:43.goal. Four years later, we got into the final against Nottingham Forest.

:21:44. > :21:51.In the tunnel, Brian kept turning to Terry and said, Terry, form a hand.

:21:52. > :21:56.They started to walk out and Brian Clough grabbed Terry's hand. It was

:21:57. > :21:59.quite a light moment. The first challenge, Paul kicked the ball and

:22:00. > :22:04.I've followed. The next thing I heard, the referee blew up. I saw

:22:05. > :22:08.him giving it to Forest and I couldn't understand what had

:22:09. > :22:13.happened. On his follow-through, he caught Gary quite high up. I thought

:22:14. > :22:16.I had a chat to Paul, calmed him down, and the second tackle might

:22:17. > :22:20.not have happened, but they didn't get the chance and I saw Paul going

:22:21. > :22:26.in for that challenge and it was very rash. Yeah, Paul suffered a

:22:27. > :22:32.very serious injury. That first half of the cup final, what ever could go

:22:33. > :22:42.wrong did go wrong. That is Alan's touch of sight. Saved! Very rarely

:22:43. > :22:47.seen Gary missing a penalty. Got back in again and Paul Stuart got

:22:48. > :22:51.the equaliser. Got to extra time, marked by Des Walcott. Des walker,

:22:52. > :22:56.in desperation, threw himself at the ball to try and clear it. You just

:22:57. > :23:05.look at the faces of Forest, Stuart Pearce, Steve Hodge... The FA Cup is

:23:06. > :23:09.full of joy and despair. That captures that moment perfectly.

:23:10. > :23:15.Tottenham Hotspur have won the FA Cup for a record eighth time. That

:23:16. > :23:19.moment whereby you are given the FA Cup, your elation, you are sharing

:23:20. > :23:25.it with your team, with the supporters, that moment was an

:23:26. > :23:32.absolutely phenomenal moment. It sure was. A great player, Garry Monk

:23:33. > :23:38.that. Great memories as well. And a couple of bad ones! For a start, the

:23:39. > :23:45.disallowed goal. No winner of sight! I think we will all agree on this.

:23:46. > :23:55.Brilliant to see. I don't like the celebration. How can you get a

:23:56. > :24:01.yellow card for that? A great run. That must be horrible. Said they

:24:02. > :24:10.made bad decisions in the 40s as well! Can we gloss over this one? A

:24:11. > :24:17.beautiful struck penalty there. Another penalty missed. Same one.

:24:18. > :24:21.That was useless. You can see Spurs against Aston Villa on Sunday.

:24:22. > :24:23.Coverage begins at 3:35pm on BBC One. Plenty of action before then as

:24:24. > :24:32.well. Mo Farah begins his season in the

:24:33. > :24:47.Edinburgh cross-country. On Saturday the 27th of May, 90,000

:24:48. > :24:55.people will fill the stadium for the FA Cup final, and you could be one

:24:56. > :24:58.of them. Sign up your five a side team for the FA people's cup, when

:24:59. > :25:02.your category, and not only could you be here for the game, you will

:25:03. > :25:05.also be walking out onto the hallowed turf at half-time to

:25:06. > :25:12.collect your own trophy. Go to the website and register now.

:25:13. > :25:23.Just a few minutes before the second half kicks off. Let's go pitch side

:25:24. > :25:28.will stop --. Why have one Trevor when you can have two? It will take

:25:29. > :25:37.some second half if he went to the 1980 FA Cup win is to continue but

:25:38. > :25:42.it's not been the best 45. Man City have been the better side. A couple

:25:43. > :25:48.of chances, but 33rd minute, the goal. I thought it was a really soft

:25:49. > :25:55.penalty. Been here when there was bad decisions in previous games. So,

:25:56. > :26:04.for me, it wasn't a sending off. That might be claret eyes. A few

:26:05. > :26:08.minutes later, the shot was saved, Feghouli went on, but he got a great

:26:09. > :26:11.chance. The few minutes later when he was brought down, that could have

:26:12. > :26:18.been a penalty. City have been ruthless. The front three, Aguero,

:26:19. > :26:24.Silva and Sterling have been superb. Silva in particular, his passing is

:26:25. > :26:30.great. We are getting soaking wet. We have had a great view pitch side

:26:31. > :26:34.of that Man City performance. At times, it's been superb.

:26:35. > :26:38.Breathtaking play. The rotation between that three has been

:26:39. > :26:41.exceptional. We are witnessing tonight why Silva has got the

:26:42. > :26:48.defender Merlin. His reverse passing has been incredible. Watching it up

:26:49. > :26:53.closely is great. The teams are coming out. I hope you can enjoy the

:26:54. > :26:59.second half a bit better. We will head back up to you guys.

:27:00. > :27:04.Third-round weekend starts here. Here comes Pablo Zabaleta. Silva!

:27:05. > :27:10.That was a risky one and it is a penalty for City. Incomes Yaya

:27:11. > :27:18.Toure. What a goal that is! David Silva. Three for Manchester City.

:27:19. > :27:22.Just so that you know that this punditry business isn't easy, how do

:27:23. > :27:26.West Ham turn this around? I don't know. You can't have damage

:27:27. > :27:31.limitation in a cup game. They have to come out and go for it. They have

:27:32. > :27:36.got 15 or 20 minutes to get something. Does the danger of

:27:37. > :27:40.humiliation matter? The way they played in the first half, yes. If

:27:41. > :27:45.they carry on this way, you can only see more goals for City. West Ham

:27:46. > :27:51.have to try and get a bit closer to them. Their passing has been too

:27:52. > :27:55.easy, Man City. Thanks, Gary. It will be West Ham to get the

:27:56. > :28:02.second half started. They have a huge task under way of trying to

:28:03. > :28:07.score at least three in the next 45 minutes. From Manchester City's

:28:08. > :28:10.point of view, it looks as though, for the fifth year running, they are

:28:11. > :28:17.going to get past round three of the FA Cup. They last had that sort of

:28:18. > :28:21.run between 1994 and 1998, when things were very different for the

:28:22. > :28:29.blue half of Manchester. Out by Otamendi. Slaven Bilic has not

:28:30. > :28:34.decided to make a change just yet. It will have been a very difficult

:28:35. > :28:40.team talk as well. There is element of embarrassment about tonight's

:28:41. > :28:44.performance. At 3-0, a bit of humiliation creeps in. They will not

:28:45. > :28:48.want to lose any more goals. At least a bit of reaction, some

:28:49. > :28:52.character from West Ham. They will not want to capitulate as they did

:28:53. > :28:58.when Arsenal were there on the 3rd of December and they won 5-1. Three

:28:59. > :29:06.times as well as that game the Hammers had conceded three times.

:29:07. > :29:10.And the worry is that Aguero isn't even on the scoresheet yet. It can

:29:11. > :29:20.only be a matter of time, surely. Antonio. That little break for

:29:21. > :29:24.Caballero. Aguero is on 153 goals for City. He is their joint third

:29:25. > :29:35.record scorer, tied with the great Colin Bell. What a player he was. I

:29:36. > :29:50.am not old enough. Well, there you go. I've seen clips of him.

:29:51. > :29:58.Surely West Ham's best player, Reid. Without doubt. Says everything,

:29:59. > :30:03.doesn't it? Some very good blocks that he got in.

:30:04. > :30:10.City I think will be trying to take the sting out of this now in the

:30:11. > :30:18.early stages of the second half. This is about growing in confidence,

:30:19. > :30:21.we are halfway through the season. Certainly confident the way they're

:30:22. > :30:38.moving the ball tonight. No way through for Zabaleta. Antonio

:30:39. > :30:42.lifts one Carroll's way. Carroll saying he wasn't happy with the

:30:43. > :30:47.height of Otamendi's boot in trying to win that. Good balance in that

:30:48. > :31:22.midfield for City. Zabaleta making a lot of intelligent runs.

:31:23. > :31:38.Slow build-up. It's almost hypnotising West Ham.

:31:39. > :31:44.That's going to go behind for a corner.

:31:45. > :31:48.It's about appreciating your role and your responsibility in the team.

:31:49. > :31:53.Guardiola is good at that. Players will know what they're doing. He

:31:54. > :32:01.changes the system so regularly, it's a nice balance to their team

:32:02. > :32:05.tonight. I think he was seen as a midfielder initially. He is a good

:32:06. > :32:10.team player, good in the dressing room, as well.

:32:11. > :32:15.Towards Otamendi. It's clawed away. Ap then bounced up against the hand

:32:16. > :32:19.of Aguero who scored from that angle against Burnley on Monday. Denied by

:32:20. > :32:25.Adrian that time. West Ham furious that handball

:32:26. > :32:32.wasn't given. Rightly so. Stones is getting in too easily. I think it

:32:33. > :32:41.comes off the arm of Aguero. Linesman on this side really should

:32:42. > :32:47.see that. Good ball whipped in. Bounced up against his arm and he

:32:48. > :32:58.had a quick look. That's right, certainly did.

:32:59. > :33:10.Toure. It's turned in for number four! Aguero got a touch. Aguero

:33:11. > :33:19.celebrates the goal that has surely killed off the tie for good.

:33:20. > :33:30.Maybe talking about making changes. This game is well and truly won now.

:33:31. > :33:33.That was Manchester City fans who made the trip down to east London.

:33:34. > :33:37.They're going to have a party there tonight. Sterling again down this

:33:38. > :33:44.left side. Chopping and changing. Just play it is back into the path

:33:45. > :33:49.of Toure. It's just in that position, just in front of the

:33:50. > :33:58.goalkeeper. Just gets that little touch. We have said it was a matter

:33:59. > :34:06.of time before he got his goal. Look at that for a touch. Takes the sting

:34:07. > :34:12.out of the ball there. West Ham try to battle back with Antonio. It's

:34:13. > :34:22.all smiles City with Aguero taking his tally for the season to 18. And

:34:23. > :34:32.154 City goals, one more than even Colin Bell got for the club in the

:34:33. > :34:38.days of the 60s and 70s. He is a legend at Manchester City all right.

:34:39. > :34:42.He is a wonderful player. Great pace. Links well with his

:34:43. > :34:50.colleagues. Seems like he is a nice man, as well, to have around you. No

:34:51. > :34:55.real ego with him. Just wants to win games and score goals. This could be

:34:56. > :35:03.big trouble for West Ham because City have shown no signs of lifting

:35:04. > :35:08.up. We can hear Blue Moon now. Some of the home supporters have headed

:35:09. > :35:13.for home. It's hard to see if people are coming in or leaving at the

:35:14. > :35:21.moment. The second half just starting. There is constant moving

:35:22. > :35:31.up and down the steps. I think they're leaving. There is more white

:35:32. > :35:52.seats visible. Effortlessly gliding across the

:35:53. > :35:55.ground again. Aguero getting into a goal scoring

:35:56. > :35:59.position which for him could be anywhere.

:36:00. > :36:08.Sterling is handling the ball very well tonight. Good movement, as

:36:09. > :36:10.well. There is De Bruyne. Steered away by Ogbonna. Carroll

:36:11. > :36:27.found Lanzini. David Sullivan has plenty to say. If

:36:28. > :36:33.he had a dream of watching his team win the FA Cup final this season, I

:36:34. > :36:38.am afraid it's gone already. That dream has turned to a

:36:39. > :36:41.nightmare. Somebody that did win the Cup with City, against Leicester, he

:36:42. > :36:45.is at every Manchester City game and loves watching this team just as

:36:46. > :36:53.much as enjoyed playing for the great team he was in. A real

:36:54. > :37:03.gentleman, as well, you have to say. City are really in the mood here.

:37:04. > :37:05.There could be a couple more, dare I say it from the West Ham fans' point

:37:06. > :37:24.of view. Payet going through gentle warm-ups.

:37:25. > :37:34.Mission impossible for him if he gets on. There is hardly any point

:37:35. > :37:39.putting him on, is there? West Ham don't play until next weekend.

:37:40. > :37:47.Tomorrow it's Crystal Palace who come here. I am sure Sam Allardyce

:37:48. > :37:53.will get a reception. City have two huge games, Everton and Tottenham.

:37:54. > :38:00.Zabaleta went tumbling after offloading the ball. It's a free

:38:01. > :38:05.kick for the visitors. Continues to impress in there, Zabaleta. Just a

:38:06. > :38:21.little give and go. Just taken out as he tries to get forward.

:38:22. > :38:28.What is evident is how high the fullbacks are for City. Look at

:38:29. > :38:32.Clichy on the left side. Sagna the same on the right. Just setting

:38:33. > :38:43.their stall out. Sterling can't keep the ball. It's

:38:44. > :38:49.cleared by Obiang. Here is Stones. They create that width and De Bruyne

:38:50. > :38:54.and Silva have so much space to come into those little pockets.

:38:55. > :39:02.Manchester City are going to make a change shortly. Nolito is going to

:39:03. > :39:07.come on. Silva we understand is going to make way, he is going to

:39:08. > :39:18.get a breather. I think that's good management. You want to protect him.

:39:19. > :39:29.Noble and Payet ready to take to the field.

:39:30. > :39:38.That's a stroll for Manchester City now.

:39:39. > :39:48.Turning into a testimonial? I don't think man City have any

:39:49. > :39:52.intention of letting off the pace. They want as many as they can get

:39:53. > :39:58.tonight. That comes from their manager. He is obsessed with winning

:39:59. > :40:08.and doing things in the correct manner. Here is the City change with

:40:09. > :40:11.David Silva giving Nolito a run out. Silva will be applauded by not just

:40:12. > :40:17.City fans but a few West Ham supporters joining in too.

:40:18. > :40:23.He has been purring all evening long. He has been magnificent. A

:40:24. > :40:30.stroll in the park for him. He has enjoyed himself. Job done.

:40:31. > :40:35.Congratulations from his manager. A few West Ham fans, I did mean

:40:36. > :40:45.literally two or three! Off goes Lanzini. Disappointing, wasn't he?

:40:46. > :40:50.Noble on to take the captain's armband and a disappointing night

:40:51. > :41:00.for Andy Carroll, not a happy birthday for him. On comes Payet.

:41:01. > :41:05.The style of play West Ham is light years away from Manchester City

:41:06. > :41:10.tonight. Getting the ball wide in the box. I don't think it suits that

:41:11. > :41:38.here at this new home of theirs. West Ham's throw in. Straightaway he

:41:39. > :42:15.is on the ball. Antonio has gone down the middle.

:42:16. > :42:30.Obiang will use Payet once more. Fernandes has joined Antonio. Noble

:42:31. > :42:34.overcooked that. He is lifting the ball there,

:42:35. > :42:41.doesn't need to. Keep it on the deck. He is there to pass it. West

:42:42. > :42:46.Ham have had defensive problems tonight. It's at the other end where

:42:47. > :42:51.they're being linked with moves in this January transfer window. Made a

:42:52. > :42:54.bid for Defoe to come back. That was rejected. Looks as though that's

:42:55. > :43:03.gone. Looking also perhaps at Celtic's

:43:04. > :43:13.Demble. Scott Hogan. Need to do something to give them a lift,

:43:14. > :43:17.that's for sure. Want to hold on to that fella, Payet. Talk of him maybe

:43:18. > :43:33.moving on. The goal that took Aguero past Colin

:43:34. > :43:39.Bell in the all-time charts. So casual. A deft little touch, outside

:43:40. > :43:47.of the right foot. A puff of the cheeks from Slaven Bilic. He knows

:43:48. > :43:49.it's far too easy. Unlucky for Reid who has defended well most of the

:43:50. > :44:24.night. I think it is important for West Ham

:44:25. > :44:26.to keep the fans onside and to show good reaction, professional

:44:27. > :44:33.performance, show they are willing, keep going. Dimitri Payet sparking a

:44:34. > :44:38.bit of enthusiasm, sparking something for his team. Feghouli

:44:39. > :44:43.looking for Antonio, and Caballero was not sure which side of the post

:44:44. > :44:49.that was passing. It will be a corner for West Ham. A good ball,

:44:50. > :44:51.Feghouli. Antonio, again with that spring that he gets. Just coming off

:44:52. > :45:07.Otamendi. Gets up well there. Dimitri Payet with the West Ham

:45:08. > :45:11.corner. Antonio might be the biggest threat, but it doesn't reach him.

:45:12. > :45:23.Sterling eating up the ground to put the pressure on. Aguero tries to get

:45:24. > :45:27.in Adrian's I line. Now is -- loads of time for Clichy defined

:45:28. > :45:32.Caballero. This is actually going even better for City than the last

:45:33. > :45:38.time they met West Ham in the cup, League Cup semifinal three years

:45:39. > :45:45.ago, a 3-0 win at Upton Park. That was a second leg. They had won the

:45:46. > :45:50.first leg 6-0. You saw the quality of Stones, that sort of cutting past

:45:51. > :45:56.that he whips into the midfield. You've got a coat like that. I have,

:45:57. > :46:04.but I think this West Ham fan as seen in. -- has seen enough. Reid

:46:05. > :46:40.backed Ogbonna. That will be a West Ham corner.

:46:41. > :46:44.Trevor Brooking, not just any old iron, in conversation with the

:46:45. > :46:53.Ireland manager. Martin O'Neill, once a Manchester City player.

:46:54. > :47:08.Finding more to talk about than to watch at the moment. Payet's corner.

:47:09. > :47:14.Headed away and collected by Aguero. He showed the energy to get there.

:47:15. > :47:20.It was Sagna, trying to turn it into the path of Nolito, who will get it

:47:21. > :47:27.now. Obiang quickly upon it. The fair for West Ham is leaving holes

:47:28. > :47:34.and spaces for man's ditty -- Man City to fly into. You feel they can

:47:35. > :47:41.go up a gear at any moment. City are breaking, with Sterling.

:47:42. > :47:50.Nordtveit just stepped across to make sure he couldn't get to the

:47:51. > :47:56.ball again. Adrian tidies up. No letup from City. They want

:47:57. > :47:59.everything. Sterling has impressed me. He wants to keep going, keep

:48:00. > :48:12.attacking, keep asking questions. I think Yaya Toure could play that

:48:13. > :48:16.role well into his 40s. He could almost have a picture out at the

:48:17. > :48:22.base of that midfield. Talked about his class. -- he could almost have a

:48:23. > :48:49.deck chair out. This is a stroll for him.

:48:50. > :48:58.It almost feels as if West Ham have gone down to ten men, such is the

:48:59. > :49:03.dominance of possession from City. It continues with Bacary Sagna.

:49:04. > :49:11.Raheem Sterling. Zabaleta has to be quick.

:49:12. > :49:18.Played straight into the hands of Clichy. I think that is what he's

:49:19. > :49:32.saying the referee, Michael Oliver. Sterling trying to force his way

:49:33. > :49:36.through. Is there anything wrong with that? I don't believe so. I

:49:37. > :49:48.don't think Sterling is ever going to get to that. But he made sure.

:49:49. > :49:49.Certainly did. Free kick, West Ham. City are about to make another

:49:50. > :50:30.change. In the build-up, Yaya Toure just

:50:31. > :50:36.likes to sit quite deep. He splits the defenders, Otamendi and Stones.

:50:37. > :50:42.Manchester City have the chance to make their change, and Kevin De

:50:43. > :50:46.Bruyne is going to go off. His run of games without a goal as stretched

:50:47. > :50:51.to a dozen, but he is about more than just scoring goals, the

:50:52. > :50:58.Belgian. That will worry him, that he hasn't scored in a while. But he

:50:59. > :51:06.and Silva, they are the cutting edge of this City team, the creators. For

:51:07. > :51:11.the final quarter of the game, 19-year-old Aleix Garcia is on, for

:51:12. > :51:18.his 17th appearance, his first since that match in February. He's now

:51:19. > :51:22.playing in very different circumstances for a City team who

:51:23. > :51:27.might score five of their in London. Garcia is straight out of the Pep

:51:28. > :51:30.Guardiola mould. He will pass and pass. A great chance for him

:51:31. > :51:58.tonight. Zabaleta offside. Straying offside.

:51:59. > :52:06.It's just the way that City are just stroking the ball around very

:52:07. > :52:10.confidently. Looking so supremely confident tonight, aren't they, in

:52:11. > :52:12.their possession? It really suits them. I bet they wish they could

:52:13. > :52:25.play here every week. So many injury setbacks in recent

:52:26. > :52:31.times, but the Man City captain is itching to get back onto the field

:52:32. > :52:38.and stay on it. You have to feel for him, the number of injuries he has

:52:39. > :52:44.had to contend with. In every game, he is in the audience even when he

:52:45. > :52:48.can't play. When he comes back, he Swans back in like he hasn't been

:52:49. > :52:53.away. He just doesn't stay fit enough for long enough. Aguero just

:52:54. > :52:59.lent into Nordtveit, hence the West Ham free kick.

:53:00. > :53:12.Still contesting those sorts of calls, even with his team 4-0 up and

:53:13. > :53:19.having got is customary goal. -- having got his customary goal. That

:53:20. > :53:22.ten men victory against Pep Guardiola -- Burnley, that showed

:53:23. > :53:28.they have got some character and fire and tonight they are back to

:53:29. > :53:32.their flowing best. Guardiola is feeling a lot better tonight and he

:53:33. > :53:35.was at the weekend. He is probably back in love with the game of

:53:36. > :53:40.football again, and I think the game is a lot better for him being in it.

:53:41. > :53:45.What he creates with his teams, it is almost an art form, the way he

:53:46. > :53:49.gets everybody's pass the ball, imagination. Not so great if you're

:53:50. > :53:51.a West Ham fan, but it gives you an idea of the way they have got to go

:53:52. > :54:07.to improve their game. I also think it's good that he

:54:08. > :54:10.hasn't just come here and ripped the Premier League apart. He has been

:54:11. > :54:14.successful in Germany and Spain. It says a lot about the Premier League

:54:15. > :54:25.that you just -- you don't just come here immediately and win everything.

:54:26. > :54:29.Are you getting the tube home, Martin? I don't think there will be

:54:30. > :54:41.a long queue by the time this finishes. No, there will be a bit

:54:42. > :54:44.less traffic on the roads. Sterling's was the fence. It's going

:54:45. > :54:49.to be a West Ham free kick and another change. The final one of the

:54:50. > :54:54.night. Antonio is off and Ashley Fletcher gets a run. The former

:54:55. > :55:01.Manchester United junior or rather got leapfrogged by Marcus Rashford

:55:02. > :55:04.at Old Trafford. His only goal for West Ham since making the move to

:55:05. > :55:15.the capital has been against his old team, United, in the AFL cup. --

:55:16. > :55:24.EFL. He has been a regular on the bench for West Ham all season. They

:55:25. > :55:28.tell me 12 months ago he was ahead of Rashford at Manchester United, so

:55:29. > :55:33.it has been quite a turnaround. He finds himself here. Antonio, I think

:55:34. > :55:38.it was the right call to take him off. He is such a gallant runner-up,

:55:39. > :55:41.a worker for his team. Rest him for another day. He played in every

:55:42. > :55:52.position, gives everything to the cause. Bundled over. West Ham

:55:53. > :55:56.supporters, those still here, are going to give plenty of backing to

:55:57. > :56:02.their team to try and get some sort of consolation. This is even too far

:56:03. > :56:25.out for Payet, surely, from here. Looking all around, sizing up what

:56:26. > :56:29.will be the best option. A superb free kick in the cut at Manchester

:56:30. > :56:35.United last March, but it wasn't quite this far away from goal. This

:56:36. > :56:42.one will be a chip for somebody else at the second run. It's a chip for

:56:43. > :56:46.nobody. That is West Ham's night. He might as well have had a shot, after

:56:47. > :56:52.that. He's trying to chip it and the Man City defence comes out very well

:56:53. > :57:07.and he's caught in two minds and has to adjust and it doesn't come off.

:57:08. > :57:18.Caballero, looking for Sagna. Too high for him, and now the final Man

:57:19. > :57:22.City substitution happening. A welcome back to action for someone

:57:23. > :57:26.who has been something of a forgotten man Fabian Delph is

:57:27. > :57:29.getting a man. He has only been off the bench twice in the Premier

:57:30. > :57:36.League this season. He has had a groin problem. Yaya Toure's number

:57:37. > :57:39.was up, but Michael Oliver is saying that City can delay the substitute

:57:40. > :57:46.because Sagna might need some more treatment. Well, they are just going

:57:47. > :57:52.to hold on, just for a moment. Pep Guardiola wants to get the thumbs up

:57:53. > :58:07.from Bacary Sagna first. I think it's a head injury, isn't it, Sagna?

:58:08. > :58:13.If Fabian Delph has played right back, he might be coming on there

:58:14. > :58:23.shortly. He just gets an arm in the face. I think he would go into

:58:24. > :58:30.midfield and Zabaleta would drop back, if Sagna needs to make way. A

:58:31. > :58:37.bit of boxing glue applied to the injury. You must have had a few of

:58:38. > :58:42.those. For sure, far too many of those. Centre forwards, putting

:58:43. > :58:47.their elbows in my face. Did you have any brushes with Slaven Bilic

:58:48. > :58:52.on the field? No, I left into Tony Adams. Everybody thought that Tony

:58:53. > :58:57.Adams scored it in 98, it was the one that set us on our way to win

:58:58. > :59:02.the double, in a Premier League match, and it came of Slaven Bilic's

:59:03. > :59:08.head. Quite pleased with that. I like the way you can't say "Double"

:59:09. > :59:17.without a big grin creeping across your face. All those years later. I

:59:18. > :59:21.remember it like it was yesterday. His team are going through to the

:59:22. > :59:26.fourth round of the FA Cup. And West Ham take the throw in, so that Delph

:59:27. > :59:45.still can't get onto the field. Toure continues for now.

:59:46. > :59:50.That's going to be added on to the end of the game and prolong the

:59:51. > :59:57.agony for West Ham. That's right, you just want it to end now if you

:59:58. > :00:08.are a West Ham player. Now Manchester City can make that

:00:09. > :00:12.change and it will be Toure to leave the field and Delph will return to

:00:13. > :00:16.action. He kicked it out himself, he wants to get off. He is going to

:00:17. > :00:20.have a massive part to play in the second half of this season. A great

:00:21. > :00:24.leader in there. Good relationship now with the manager, he is back in

:00:25. > :00:28.favour. They're all smiles, best of friends again. Certainly are. At the

:00:29. > :00:31.start of the season he was left out of the Champions League squad. It

:00:32. > :00:41.seemed he would be on his way. You can sure he will be in the squad for

:00:42. > :01:09.the last 16 when City play Monaco. Didn't pick him until November.

:01:10. > :01:20.Early bathn the right sense, substituted Toure.

:01:21. > :01:26.Payet still shows the skills, even if the game is lost. A moment of

:01:27. > :01:35.magic there, Payet. As far as the tie is concerned, it's

:01:36. > :01:58.a miracle now that is needed. We have seen it before, we have seen

:01:59. > :02:03.it in the Cup when a team was 3-0 down at half-time. I think once that

:02:04. > :02:07.third goal went in here that was it. There's never been a hint of any

:02:08. > :02:12.reaction. City have just purred for the whole night and controlled every

:02:13. > :02:15.department of the match. This is a real springboard for them for the

:02:16. > :02:35.rest of the season. Nolito had that dig that out from

:02:36. > :03:15.behind. If you are a City player now it's in

:03:16. > :03:19.these moments that you grow that extra armoury that there is a belief

:03:20. > :03:24.about the group. You can't recreate this on the training pitch. You do

:03:25. > :03:32.it here for real. It's been a stroll for them. Of course they've made

:03:33. > :03:42.their one big transfer window signing, we think, it was made at

:03:43. > :03:53.the start of August. The 19-year-old Brazilian striker to add more punch

:03:54. > :03:58.upfront. It gives him options. He wants options. They give you the

:03:59. > :04:30.belief to win games, centre-forwards.

:04:31. > :04:36.You wonder now will Guardiola stick with this formation? Had lots of

:04:37. > :04:42.changes this year. Last year, shall we say. Always has been his way.

:04:43. > :04:48.Yeah. Players enjoy that bit of stability, I think. Occasionally

:04:49. > :05:17.let's pick the same 11, the same system.

:05:18. > :05:27.Here is Fletcher. Nice foot work from Fletcher. But he

:05:28. > :05:35.is being ganged up on now. And he had no assistance. Aguero through

:05:36. > :05:42.the middle. Adrian doesn't get there. Stood up to stop ago in the

:05:43. > :05:47.end. That's going to be a corner. Aguero play it is off the back, off

:05:48. > :05:52.Nordtveit. Adrian appeals to all in front of him to keep going to limit

:05:53. > :05:57.any further damage. It's Aguero this time making the run

:05:58. > :05:58.from a Sterling pass. Those two have been really important tonight for

:05:59. > :06:21.City. Another foot from Adrian. Nolito to lift one over.

:06:22. > :06:26.Into John Stones! It's cleared off the line. No t has

:06:27. > :06:31.crossed the line. Michael Oliver points to the is there. -- to the

:06:32. > :06:34.centre. John Stones has his first Manchester City goal on a night

:06:35. > :06:42.where they've flown in for his team at the London Stadium.

:06:43. > :06:47.John Stones deserve that is tonight. He has had three headers that I have

:06:48. > :06:51.counted where he has got there first. This one he has done it

:06:52. > :06:57.again. Far too easy for him but he wants it more than anybody else.

:06:58. > :07:05.Attacks the ball really well. It's another in-swinger. You see that, he

:07:06. > :07:14.is first to the ball. Yes, no doubt about it over the line. Noble

:07:15. > :07:19.couldn't keep it out, instantly the signal went to the watch on Michael

:07:20. > :07:23.Oliver's wrist and he points to the middle and John Stones points to the

:07:24. > :07:31.sky. West Ham United 0, Manchester City 5.

:07:32. > :07:36.Incredible. For West Ham it's a similar feeling to that they will

:07:37. > :07:44.have had over a month ago when Arsenal scored the same number of

:07:45. > :07:49.goals here. They want to turn around, they might see a 6th! Well

:07:50. > :07:51.might they celebrate. It's really important, we talked about the

:07:52. > :07:59.ingredients, you have to score goals for your team, of course you make

:08:00. > :08:03.the clearances, but Stones has attacked every corner well. That's a

:08:04. > :08:22.big improvement from him. Sterling nearly got there in front

:08:23. > :08:29.of Adrian. You feel for the Spanish keeper.

:08:30. > :08:30.Kept out of the Premier League team lately. On his return tonight he is

:08:31. > :09:07.hit for five goals. Over towards Delph.

:09:08. > :09:10.Manchester City fans are jumping up and down, some watching the match,

:09:11. > :09:14.some not as their team threaten here. It's a horrible experience for

:09:15. > :09:19.West Ham in front of their own supporters. City are looking hungry

:09:20. > :09:25.again. It's Aguero! Enough behind it from Adrian to keep

:09:26. > :09:31.out the 6th goal, for now, at least. Just enjoying himself, Aguero. Goes

:09:32. > :09:38.nice and deep. Makes the run. Stealing the shot. Saved by the

:09:39. > :09:44.keeper. This really has been, and continues to be, a superlative

:09:45. > :09:55.Manchester City display. Who is next? Towards Stones.

:09:56. > :10:27.Nolito's effort blocked. Otamendi. Doesn't reach Aguero.

:10:28. > :10:32.John Stones deals with Fletcher. Payet demands that something is

:10:33. > :10:49.given. Michael Oliver not bothered by that one bit.

:10:50. > :10:56.West Ham fans have now left the proceedings, a lot of the fans. Been

:10:57. > :11:02.second best for all the evening, apart from the first 25 minutes or

:11:03. > :11:13.half an hour or so, until City got that penalty. It's almost been men

:11:14. > :11:15.against boys after that. The team is breezing through to the FA Cup

:11:16. > :11:31.fourth round. Garcia not close enough to Aguero.

:11:32. > :11:39.In goes Garcia to win the ball back for City.

:11:40. > :11:45.Such a contrast, West Ham playing in isolation. Everything is joined up

:11:46. > :11:48.for City, everybody moving off one another. Plenty of options on the

:11:49. > :11:56.ball. Here we are moving to the last

:11:57. > :12:00.minute of the 90. Who would be your Man of the Match choice tonight in a

:12:01. > :12:03.superb team display? There have been lots of good performances, Sterling,

:12:04. > :12:10.but Silva was magnificent tonight the way he pulled the strings in

:12:11. > :12:13.there. Ahead of De Bruyne for me, a wonderful player to watch and learn

:12:14. > :12:22.from, I am sure this man enjoys working with him. He is his kind of

:12:23. > :12:24.player. David Silva scored the third before half-time which effectively

:12:25. > :12:32.sealed the tie before it was halfway through.

:12:33. > :12:35.Payet to Cresswell. This is a real bonus for Pep

:12:36. > :12:42.Guardiola, progress through to the next round. Noble goes on a run.

:12:43. > :12:47.It's going to be a City throw. Progress through and he has been

:12:48. > :12:52.able to bring off Silva, De Bruyne, Toure, with minutes to spare and can

:12:53. > :12:56.look forward to a nine-day break before a trip to Goodison Park.

:12:57. > :13:01.Yeah, plenty of time to build on that, to enjoy it. He is used to

:13:02. > :13:05.that winter break, he didn't get it and he was almost at boiling point.

:13:06. > :13:08.It wasn't his finest hour, the interview he gave after the game,

:13:09. > :13:13.but I am sure he will be happy tonight. It's been a wonderful

:13:14. > :13:20.display from his team and good reaction. I am afraid as Nordtveit

:13:21. > :13:23.gets set to take the throw, we have a delay because we have a few jokers

:13:24. > :13:28.on the field, which is the last thing West Ham want.

:13:29. > :13:36.It's making everything last longer for them.

:13:37. > :13:44.That's a better shot. BOOING. That's what the West Ham

:13:45. > :13:47.supporters think about that. Michael Oliver decides that he

:13:48. > :13:52.doesn't have to prolong it any more. Full-time whistle sounds at the

:13:53. > :13:59.London Stadium. Pep Guardiola, a man who deals in

:14:00. > :14:04.trophies, and he has set his side off on the perfect start to traps

:14:05. > :14:06.winning another one because they have absolutely blown away West Ham

:14:07. > :14:11.tonight to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Both

:14:12. > :14:16.went strong, both named strong sides. Manchester City looked

:14:17. > :14:20.really, really strong from start to finish. They have breezed through

:14:21. > :14:21.with a final score at the London Stadium of West Ham 0, Manchester

:14:22. > :14:34.City 5. It was the first ever FA Cup tie

:14:35. > :14:39.played at the London Stadium, formerly the Olympic Stadium, and it

:14:40. > :14:43.happens to be the Hammers' biggest ever defeat at home in the

:14:44. > :14:47.competition's history. A desperate night for them and their supporters,

:14:48. > :14:53.who came and packed the stadium this evening, but a great night for Pep

:14:54. > :14:57.Guardiola, his first FA Cup tie and an emphatic victory. They played

:14:58. > :15:02.some terrific football at times. They were brilliant and West Ham

:15:03. > :15:04.could not live with them. Their passing, moving, one touch football,

:15:05. > :15:12.running in behind and movement off the ball was superb. Once they went

:15:13. > :15:15.1-0 up, it was alarming how the heads of West Ham went down. Pretty

:15:16. > :15:20.embarrassing. Slaven Bilic stood on the touchline for 90 minutes. He

:15:21. > :15:28.didn't show his responsibilities, unlike a lot of his players. Six

:15:29. > :15:32.defeats at home in all competitions this season. It's definitely an

:15:33. > :15:38.issue about this stadium at present, even if it's just in the mind. You

:15:39. > :15:41.can feel it in the stadium. Their performance was passive, it lacked

:15:42. > :15:46.confidence. The fans tried to get them going but there was a feeling

:15:47. > :15:51.that they are waiting for a bad turn and, as soon as it came, they threw

:15:52. > :15:58.the towel in. Very worrying for them. Upton Park is trending on

:15:59. > :16:02.Twitter. I can imagine. The stadium feels like a nice place to come and

:16:03. > :16:07.play, big and wide, and when you have got the players with the lack

:16:08. > :16:11.of intensity of the West Ham players, you got to get closer to

:16:12. > :16:16.seeing players like that. I understand moving to a new stadium

:16:17. > :16:23.is new for everyone, but you can't use that as an excuse for lack of

:16:24. > :16:28.passion and commitment. It goes for both sides. You can't use a new

:16:29. > :16:33.stadium as an excuse for that, because there was no response from

:16:34. > :16:38.any West Ham player tonight. You are sat in this brand-new stadium, 15

:16:39. > :16:44.minutes to go, and it's half empty. 57,000 beforehand, live on TV. An

:16:45. > :16:48.embarrassing night for West Ham. Do you sense that Slaven Bilic might be

:16:49. > :16:54.under the cosh a bit now? They haven't been back in the league of

:16:55. > :16:58.late, but a result like that...? At the moment, I don't think so. What

:16:59. > :17:01.he gained last year was the respect of global performance, but it

:17:02. > :17:07.doesn't look now like the problem is him. -- over performance. I think

:17:08. > :17:11.the problem is the players, on the pitch. It looks like they are

:17:12. > :17:15.shocking, but I think there is a lack of confidence. And then you

:17:16. > :17:19.look at their best player, who comes on at the end, the signs are that he

:17:20. > :17:24.might want to go and then you are really worried. A real confidence

:17:25. > :17:29.booster for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola. He was a bit prickly at

:17:30. > :17:33.the weekend. They were fantastic. You give a team like City that kind

:17:34. > :17:39.of time and space to play and they will cause you problems. Silva was

:17:40. > :17:42.Man of the Match, Sterling was brilliant today, and Yaya Toure was

:17:43. > :17:46.playing like he could play for another ten years in that position.

:17:47. > :17:51.Very comfortable for him. We can hear from one of the goal-scorers,

:17:52. > :17:56.John Stones, and one of the least busy people that entertained us this

:17:57. > :17:59.evening, Willy Caballero. A comfortable performance out there

:18:00. > :18:05.for you. You must have enjoyed being part of that. Definitely. I thought

:18:06. > :18:10.we moved the ball well. First and foremost, that got us the chances.

:18:11. > :18:16.We changed our system a bit today and played with a diamond. I thought

:18:17. > :18:22.it worked really well, with the front three of Raheem Sterling and

:18:23. > :18:26.so on. The overall performance was really good. To get a clean sheet as

:18:27. > :18:32.defenders, which we haven't had too many this season, we are thrilled. A

:18:33. > :18:37.clean sheet and a goal, your first in a City shirt. Must have been

:18:38. > :18:41.nice. It's been a long time coming! I should have scored a few in

:18:42. > :18:46.previous games. It's nice to get one in a special cup. Willie, when you

:18:47. > :18:51.come into games like this, how important is it as a goalkeeper to

:18:52. > :18:57.keep the goals out? Reid for all the team, it is very important. For all

:18:58. > :19:01.the team, it is very important. I think we will feel more better when

:19:02. > :19:08.we keep going this way. And I think we finish our complete performance

:19:09. > :19:12.tonight. How important was this performance and the result in the

:19:13. > :19:20.development of the team under Pep Guardiola? Every game is important.

:19:21. > :19:28.We have to start this cup against a big team with a history in this cup.

:19:29. > :19:31.It was a big game. And we started out very well. And I think, after

:19:32. > :19:37.the last game in the Premier League, it was very important to take a

:19:38. > :19:46.confidence that we can play in our game on in our way, and we really

:19:47. > :19:50.enjoyed the way that we finish. Well done, guys. Thank you. You can look

:19:51. > :19:54.back on all sorts of different games, but there is normally a

:19:55. > :19:59.defining moment that changes things, and it was definitely the penalty

:20:00. > :20:02.decision. Before that, it was relatively easily. There wasn't a

:20:03. > :20:06.lot in it. Gleaned from David Silva and a run from Zabaleta. The way it

:20:07. > :20:15.passed from Silva into Zabaleta, and I don't think that he went for the

:20:16. > :20:18.ball. But, Frank, you do. I do. I think it's a bit clumsy, the content

:20:19. > :20:23.is there. I agree it isn't clear-cut, but for me it is. From

:20:24. > :20:26.there on, it was a dominant performance from Man City, and it

:20:27. > :20:31.wasn't too long before the goals started. Even if it wasn't a

:20:32. > :20:35.penalty, which they may have complained about, they didn't have

:20:36. > :20:39.any reaction to it. So they can't complain. A fantastic ball right in

:20:40. > :20:43.that area where the defender and goalkeeper are in no man's land. You

:20:44. > :20:49.just need a forward and get on the end of it. In the end, the defender

:20:50. > :20:53.put it in. A brilliant ball. They deserved that. At this stage, you

:20:54. > :20:57.are seeing good players playing with great confidence. They have got the

:20:58. > :21:01.goals and their passing and movement. West Ham couldn't live

:21:02. > :21:06.with them. The third goal was another example of that. Terrible

:21:07. > :21:12.defending. They completely gave up here. You can't defend like that.

:21:13. > :21:16.Still a long way to go in the game, and that is gung ho to the extreme.

:21:17. > :21:21.Again, talking that runners, an easy goal in the end when you get to that

:21:22. > :21:25.stage. This is pure class. That is what David Silva is all about. Quite

:21:26. > :21:30.rightly Man of the Match, and that moment sums him up. He was brilliant

:21:31. > :21:35.tonight, the way he controlled the ball, and his passing and movement,

:21:36. > :21:38.superb. He is a delightful footballer. There are four of us in

:21:39. > :21:43.this room and we all quite like the feeling of scoring goals. Also, when

:21:44. > :21:50.your team starts to bag a few and you haven't got one! I suspect

:21:51. > :21:55.Sergio Aguero is of the same ilk. Even before, he was thinking, it 3-0

:21:56. > :22:03.and he ain't on the sheet yet! When you look at how much space Yaya

:22:04. > :22:07.had... Equals into him. The touch is brilliant. If you look at it from

:22:08. > :22:14.this angle, he takes it off luckily. Beautiful. That sort of sound West

:22:15. > :22:17.Ham up. They were a second late to everything. By the time they

:22:18. > :22:21.realised they were in trouble and make the effort to close the ball

:22:22. > :22:26.down, it was too late. You can't give good players that amount of

:22:27. > :22:30.time and space. Looking at that again with Aguero, he mis-hit that,

:22:31. > :22:36.Yaya Toure, and Aguero's instinct was to go where the ball was going.

:22:37. > :22:39.That's unbelievable. You can't teach it. You don't need to. I know full

:22:40. > :22:56.well you're thinking! John Stones, what do you make of his

:22:57. > :22:59.progress? He scored his first goal for Manchester City delight, giving

:23:00. > :23:03.him more confidence. He kind of divides opinion. I like him and I

:23:04. > :23:09.want to like him. He is a defender that we are looking for for England

:23:10. > :23:12.and Manchester City, and the way he plays, there have been times this

:23:13. > :23:16.season where he is so relaxed on the ball, you want him to show a bit

:23:17. > :23:20.more urgency and be more careful. There are times when he defends, as

:23:21. > :23:24.he did with a couple of West Ham chances, and you want them to be

:23:25. > :23:27.more active and get tighter. But that goal and give him confidence.

:23:28. > :23:32.His first goal of the season, and that will give him confidence go

:23:33. > :23:39.forward. I bet you wish you had had goal-line technology! I think we all

:23:40. > :23:45.do. How far are City off being the real deal? How many players do they

:23:46. > :23:48.need to bring in? I think three, a goalkeeper and another forward, in

:23:49. > :23:53.case anything happens to Aguero, and another defender. They've got a

:23:54. > :24:03.goalkeeper. I sent that might not happen. Full-backs, they could

:24:04. > :24:07.invest in. In terms of the title race, are they still in it? They

:24:08. > :24:12.have so much quality in their side, you can't write them off. At the

:24:13. > :24:16.start of the season, they won ten games, bang. If you wanted to add to

:24:17. > :24:21.it, it's quite difficult in this transfer window. It is but, from

:24:22. > :24:26.being at Man City for a year, I know the owners and they will back him.

:24:27. > :24:30.They had four at the back today and I think it suits them. When they go

:24:31. > :24:36.to three, they might be expansive on the ball, but they give holes behind

:24:37. > :24:41.them. In terms of West Ham, they have got to kind of stopped the rot

:24:42. > :24:45.here, and today. They've got to start winning games on a regular

:24:46. > :24:50.basis at home. Absolutely. I don't think they are in any real danger of

:24:51. > :24:53.being relegated, they are better than that, but they have to show

:24:54. > :24:58.more urgency and passion and more of a reaction when things are not going

:24:59. > :25:01.right for them, because that would be the most disturbing thing

:25:02. > :25:06.tonight, when the first goal went in, you could really see their heads

:25:07. > :25:10.going down. The manager is standing on the touchline, urging his players

:25:11. > :25:14.along. As I said, he didn't walk away from the crowd. It would be

:25:15. > :25:19.easy for him to go and sit back in his dugout, but he stood out there,

:25:20. > :25:24.taking the stick from the fans, but he has to get something better from

:25:25. > :25:28.the players on the pitch. They are said to have made offers for Jermain

:25:29. > :25:33.Defoe and Robert Snodgrass. But it's hard to prise them away, because

:25:34. > :25:37.those teams need them. Teams that generally get sucked in, and they

:25:38. > :25:43.could do, they need goal-scorers to get results. Jermain Defoe has done

:25:44. > :25:46.for Sunderland and maybe he could do here. The expectation is high I

:25:47. > :25:49.suppose because of how they performed last season so, this

:25:50. > :25:54.season, ring just above the relegation zone, there is a bit more

:25:55. > :26:00.fear and disappointment. -- hover just above. Also that they are

:26:01. > :26:04.losing at home. You have to look at their main players. Antonio seems to

:26:05. > :26:10.have picked up from where he left off last season, but it's strange to

:26:11. > :26:14.see Dimitri Payet coming on at 4-0. Is the manager tried to prove a

:26:15. > :26:21.point, bringing a forward on at 4-0 at home? He is saying, I'm the boss?

:26:22. > :26:26.It felt like that, because it seemed strange to bring him on. Rest in. He

:26:27. > :26:34.is an integral player who needs to do a lot more for them. -- rest him.

:26:35. > :26:40.Were they right to come to this particular stadium? 20,000 more

:26:41. > :26:43.supporters, a beautiful ground... The of a lifetime, wasn't it? They

:26:44. > :26:51.literally got for peanuts, in respect of what they should be pain.

:26:52. > :26:59.Here is Pep Guardiola. A comfortable night, but what please choose the

:27:00. > :27:05.most? They win, of course. -- what pleased you the most. Finally, we

:27:06. > :27:10.were able to keep the ball more than the last games, it was almost

:27:11. > :27:15.impossible, so we played much better in that sense. We created chances

:27:16. > :27:21.and conceded few. For the penalty, we had three or four chances. After,

:27:22. > :27:27.OK, the second and third goal, it was easy for the second half. How

:27:28. > :27:30.important was it for you in this competition to put in a performance

:27:31. > :27:35.like that and show everybody else that you are serious and want to win

:27:36. > :27:42.this trophy? It is always important, FA Cup first round, West Ham, but

:27:43. > :27:45.hopefully it can make us help to make our players believe us that

:27:46. > :27:52.they are good enough to play every game and Triumph, in both our fans

:27:53. > :27:57.and the people in Manchester, they can believe that we are good. Then

:27:58. > :28:03.they know what happened in the past, but so we are the good guys, so they

:28:04. > :28:08.bore the season are going to fight a lot, playing good. -- all the

:28:09. > :28:16.season. They have to believe they are able to compete wherever,

:28:17. > :28:21.whatever team. Well done. Pep Guardiola. We are just about out of

:28:22. > :28:27.time. Frank, before you go, what are your plans? Are you going to play,

:28:28. > :28:33.go into management, TV? I don't know. I enjoyed this tonight. At the

:28:34. > :28:36.moment, I'm keeping fit. If I play again, it has to be completely right

:28:37. > :28:41.for me. I had a good, long career, so it has to be the right choice.

:28:42. > :28:47.I'm relaxed about it and we will see full thank you very much. We are out

:28:48. > :28:50.of time in a stadium famous for super Saturday. For West Ham

:28:51. > :28:53.tonight, it was a frightful Friday. Farewell. Third-round weekend starts

:28:54. > :29:06.here. The start of the road to Wembley for

:29:07. > :29:10.the top two tier teams of the country, and one of the biggest will

:29:11. > :29:14.go no further than this. That was a risky one and it is a penalty for

:29:15. > :29:21.City. Here comes Yaya Toure. Emphatic penalty. Sterling! What a

:29:22. > :29:27.goal! David Silva! It is three for Manchester City. Toure, turned in

:29:28. > :29:32.for number four. And Aguero celebrates. Into John Stones! West

:29:33. > :29:34.Ham United U Merrick zero, Manchester City 5.

:29:35. > :29:38.We're looking for someone who can sing, someone who can move.
