0:00:32 > 0:00:37Welcome to Mill Farm, home of AFC Fylde, and National League pub, yes,

0:00:37 > 0:00:42but with big ambitions. Ten years ago they were playing in the 11th

0:00:42 > 0:00:45tier of English football. Today, they are on the brink of the

0:00:45 > 0:00:49Football League. Tonight, they take on Wigan Athletic, who of course won

0:00:49 > 0:00:53the FA Cup four years ago, now top of League One. Both these sides are

0:00:53 > 0:00:59dreaming of a place in round three. Kirkham and Wesham were renamed AFC

0:00:59 > 0:01:07Fylde in 2008, but make no mistake, this side have got history.Formerly

0:01:07 > 0:01:17we were two separate teams. Kirkham and Wesham. We merged together in

0:01:17 > 0:01:241988. We changed our name to AFC Fylde.Four of us got together,

0:01:24 > 0:01:29setting up a football team. Tokas two years to get the funds to get

0:01:29 > 0:01:35together to buy a strip.Putting nets up, over the years we've done

0:01:35 > 0:01:39that.Going around with a collection box at half-time and watching people

0:01:39 > 0:01:45walk away so they didn't have to put 10p thing is just a bit of a change.

0:01:45 > 0:01:49To come to this wonderful stadium, and I still have to pinch myself, to

0:01:49 > 0:01:54convince myself it's real.We've been at the club a long time. A lot

0:01:54 > 0:02:01of history and a lot of laughs along the way.I almost weep when I go out

0:02:01 > 0:02:05there and see the lads performing. It's a major roller-coaster for me,

0:02:05 > 0:02:11and to see how much we've achieved is unbelievable. Now, in my early

0:02:11 > 0:02:1970s, and the FA Cup still has the magic that it had 60 years ago.It

0:02:19 > 0:02:24goes without saying that they will cherish this bubbly for the rest of

0:02:24 > 0:02:28their lives.Who knows, I think they are capable of giving a shock.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32That's it's what the FA Cup is all about and that's why we are in it.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36It's the best competition in the world.Wonderful stuff. This is

0:02:36 > 0:02:41where we are then, thanks to Eric, Mick and Bob, who call this place

0:02:41 > 0:02:44home. Just between Preston and Blackpool, Fleetwood up the road.

0:02:44 > 0:02:48That's where we are for football focus tomorrow. It's all about

0:02:48 > 0:02:55Friday night in the FA Cup and we live Mill Farm. Kevin Kilbane is

0:02:55 > 0:02:58here, so to the Peaky Blinders, Danny Webber, formerly of Manchester

0:02:58 > 0:03:04United and Salford city. Lovely to see you. The FA Cup is here as well.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08Kevin, it's a non-league team but the set up is magnificent here at

0:03:08 > 0:03:12Fylde, isn't it?Yes, you look at the facilities, the pitch is

0:03:12 > 0:03:15immaculate. Everything the infrastructure is tremendous. It

0:03:15 > 0:03:19doesn't feel like you are coming to a non-league ground.They are really

0:03:19 > 0:03:23ambitious side as we heard. Five promotions in ten seasons. Big plans

0:03:23 > 0:03:30for the future. You will see the players wearing 2022 on their

0:03:30 > 0:03:33sleeves, part of the plan, to be a Football League club by then. Pick

0:03:33 > 0:03:36out some players for us because you know them well, particularly the

0:03:36 > 0:03:41goalkeeper, Jay Lynch, who you played with at Salford?Jay Lynch

0:03:41 > 0:03:43was instrumental in Salford's promotions and doesn't get the

0:03:43 > 0:03:48credit he deserves. Had he been six he would be playing in a

0:03:48 > 0:03:53Championship, he's that good. He's a great acquisition for them.What

0:03:53 > 0:04:02about Montrose, you waiting?I do, Lewis Montrose, he's played in the

0:04:02 > 0:04:04league before, at York and Wigan. Very good ability, he wasn't able to

0:04:04 > 0:04:08play consistently and get a good run of games but a talented player, yes.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12A reminder of where we are in terms of the football geography, shall we

0:04:12 > 0:04:18get our football pyramid out? Fylde taken on Wigan, FA Cup winners a few

0:04:18 > 0:04:21years ago, three relegation is on the promotion since then, top of

0:04:21 > 0:04:26League One. You have to go down to get to the National League, Fylde in

0:04:26 > 0:04:2916th place, both teams have lost once in the last five matches but,

0:04:29 > 0:04:33Kevin, they are taking on a side who are the highest ranked they could

0:04:33 > 0:04:37play at this stage of the competition in Wigan. It is, a tough

0:04:37 > 0:04:43draw for Fylde but the way Wigan have been playing this season

0:04:43 > 0:04:46they've had their ups and downs, winning the FA Cup a few seasons ago

0:04:46 > 0:04:49now but a very good attacking side under Paul Cook. He gets them

0:04:49 > 0:04:52playing in a way that is expansive and entertaining and the crowds

0:04:52 > 0:04:55watching Wigan have been very excited and very, very much

0:04:55 > 0:05:00appreciative of what's gone on.It will be a big crowd tonight, hoping

0:05:00 > 0:05:04for an upset. When he was Salford city players took on Notts County a

0:05:04 > 0:05:11few months ago -- years ago, at what stage did you think, we've got this

0:05:11 > 0:05:15lot?There was a feeling of we could do it, watching the Notts County

0:05:15 > 0:05:19players coming off the coach, they didn't fancy the mud, the mud at

0:05:19 > 0:05:21Salford at the time, they were tiptoeing through it. There was a

0:05:21 > 0:05:27sense of an upset.That's what it's about, Kevin, isn't it? Sometimes

0:05:27 > 0:05:30it's the mentality that is more important than what happens on the

0:05:30 > 0:05:34pitch.Definitely, Paul Cook has managed at all levels. He knows what

0:05:34 > 0:05:38it's like to bring in aside from both ends of the spectrum, a side

0:05:38 > 0:05:43going down to a non-league side to a league club, or the other way round

0:05:43 > 0:05:46as a non-league manager and player. He knows what it's like. He will

0:05:46 > 0:05:49know what Fylde will be going through tonight. It's about getting

0:05:49 > 0:05:53the mentality of the Wigan players tonight. The way Wigan play, this

0:05:53 > 0:05:57will suit the way they played, so they could come to light and really

0:05:57 > 0:06:03enjoy the occasion as much as Fylde do themselves. They have a strong

0:06:03 > 0:06:07side, Wigan, with a lot of their best players here. They have and the

0:06:07 > 0:06:09mentality of Paul Cook is to come here and continue what they've been

0:06:09 > 0:06:13doing in the league. They've been top of League One, enjoying their

0:06:13 > 0:06:15football, playing good attacking football and knowing the mentality

0:06:15 > 0:06:19of Paul Cook, he's not going to want to come here and be embarrassed. He

0:06:19 > 0:06:26will want to win.We will speak to call cook in a minute. Stay here. On

0:06:26 > 0:06:32the far side here you will see Dave Challinor, when I mentioned the

0:06:32 > 0:06:36name, you might mention the Goliath throw-in from many years ago, over

0:06:36 > 0:06:40in the home team dugout. Lovely to see you, thank you for coming and

0:06:40 > 0:06:43having a word with us so soon before kick-off. From your perspective

0:06:43 > 0:06:47tonight, you've given your team talk. How are you feeling?I feel

0:06:47 > 0:06:54great. As a player, manager, these are the occasions you want to play

0:06:54 > 0:06:57in. From my experience through playing, these are when good players

0:06:57 > 0:07:00really thrive and this is the one competition and we've got an

0:07:00 > 0:07:04occasion where our players can pit their wits against Football League

0:07:04 > 0:07:07players, who are of a really good standard. They will look forward to

0:07:07 > 0:07:11it. They've got to enjoy it and they will enjoy it a whole lot more if

0:07:11 > 0:07:13they win.We were having some pictures taken earlier on, when you

0:07:13 > 0:07:19are giving your team talk. Do you normally have strictly come dancing

0:07:19 > 0:07:22on in the background? We were waiting for the programme to come

0:07:22 > 0:07:27on! Lads want to see themselves, we left something on the TV, there is

0:07:27 > 0:07:30normally the music going and something for them to watch. Each to

0:07:30 > 0:07:34their own, I suppose. You want the players to do the business for you

0:07:34 > 0:07:38tonight. You have some quality in the players who have played at high

0:07:38 > 0:07:41levels. What are the opportunities for them tonight to give Wigan a

0:07:41 > 0:07:46really good game and maybe make round three?Yeah, of course, this

0:07:46 > 0:07:50is a big opportunity. A lot of them will believe, quite rightly, that

0:07:50 > 0:07:53they could play at this level and some have played at this level. This

0:07:53 > 0:07:57is their occasion to show you can do that. These are the types of things

0:07:57 > 0:08:02that can again, people can make -- make a name for themselves,

0:08:02 > 0:08:05hopefully we will make a name for ourselves as a team and a few

0:08:05 > 0:08:10individuals will do well out of it. This is a big opportunity on the

0:08:10 > 0:08:13national stage for people to go and show what they are about and for

0:08:13 > 0:08:16other teams to hopefully recognise we've got a good bunch of players

0:08:16 > 0:08:20here.I'm really disappointed, I was going to get you to launch a ball

0:08:20 > 0:08:23across the pitch but your back is done in?Back and shoulders,

0:08:23 > 0:08:29terrible when you pack in, once you finish playing you do realise what

0:08:29 > 0:08:32you've been doing in the previous 20 years does catch up on you.Great to

0:08:32 > 0:08:37talk to you, thanks, Dave. As Dave says, Fylde hoping for an upset

0:08:37 > 0:08:40tonight but Wigan know all about causing a shock as well. A few

0:08:40 > 0:08:44seasons ago they took on Manchester City at Wembley and won the whole

0:08:44 > 0:08:51competition. It's been quite a ride since then.It was a slow and steady

0:08:51 > 0:08:53climb for the Latics from the Northern Premier League to the

0:08:53 > 0:08:59Premier League and eventually the pinnacle the FA Cup.Maloney's

0:08:59 > 0:09:07Corner, headed in! Watson's header has won the FA Cup final for Wigan

0:09:07 > 0:09:17Athletic!Since then it's all been a bit up and down, mostly down.Wigan

0:09:17 > 0:09:22are relegated, just three days after the jubilation of Wembley.Back on

0:09:22 > 0:09:26the up though, for next season, making the Championship play-offs

0:09:26 > 0:09:32and an FA Cup semifinal, but alas... Cazorla, he scores, so Wigan

0:09:32 > 0:09:38crestfallen.The following year though another relegation.They are

0:09:38 > 0:09:44down. Wigan are in League One next season. It's not all been downs

0:09:44 > 0:09:49though. Bouncing back as League One champions in 2016 though.The

0:09:49 > 0:10:00champagne Cork Ops.12 months later another sudden drop.Thoughts for

0:10:00 > 0:10:04the Wigan supporters and players, they've been relegated.But now we

0:10:04 > 0:10:08are top of the league and just 90 minutes away from the third round of

0:10:08 > 0:10:14the FA Cup.There you go, that's Wigan's recent history. We are at

0:10:14 > 0:10:17the live FA Cup football tonight, Fylde taking on Wigan. We said we'd

0:10:17 > 0:10:23speak to the Wigan boss Paul Cook, take it away, Mark Clemmit.

0:10:23 > 0:10:27Let's start with that, shall we? Seventh permanent manager since that

0:10:27 > 0:10:32famous FA Cup win. What sort of hand have you been dealt?A fantastic

0:10:32 > 0:10:39one. Clubs obviously got the history of what it's done, fantastic

0:10:39 > 0:10:40facilities, fantastic infrastructure, and a very strong

0:10:40 > 0:10:46squad.Yeah, but obviously the turmoil of so much chopping and

0:10:46 > 0:10:50changing and the three relegations. That's what happens, for good times

0:10:50 > 0:10:54and bad, they are in the past and it's the future now. We're going

0:10:54 > 0:10:58along OK in the league and we've had a tricky FA Cup tonight which is why

0:10:58 > 0:11:03you guys are here.Yeah and the sort of things that some managers might

0:11:03 > 0:11:06wilt under the pressure off but I get the impression you thrive on it.

0:11:06 > 0:11:11You love a game like tonight. It's a great game, is what we are all about

0:11:11 > 0:11:14in terms of kids growing up in the FA Cup and years gone by the

0:11:14 > 0:11:18giant-killing acts as such, you only have to look at the facilities here

0:11:18 > 0:11:22at Fylde to see what infrastructure so-called non-league teams have,

0:11:22 > 0:11:27fantastic facilities, fantastic setup, magnificent pitch, great

0:11:27 > 0:11:31credit to Fylde. Our lads are keen to do well tonight and we know it

0:11:31 > 0:11:35will be a tough game. You came for a look around and were gobsmacked.

0:11:35 > 0:11:38Your mouth was hanging over what you found here, because as you come onto

0:11:38 > 0:11:42the horizon it's like a citadel sitting there. You're not expecting

0:11:42 > 0:11:46this to be here.Great credit to the Fylde chairman and board and Fylde

0:11:46 > 0:11:50in general, they have a plan to go forward. Tonight is a great game for

0:11:50 > 0:11:53them with is coming to town it will be a good game, two footballing

0:11:53 > 0:11:57sides who want to get through, we hope to get through, but we know

0:11:57 > 0:12:04what the FA Cup is all about.Yeah, you don't want -- you will use the

0:12:04 > 0:12:09not being on the back pages tomorrow as part of your motivation.Lets

0:12:09 > 0:12:13kick on, things will happen in the game that will determine the outcome

0:12:13 > 0:12:16and we have to be in charge of the game for long periods. The only

0:12:16 > 0:12:21problem tonight is it's a bit cold out there. Do you want to borrow my

0:12:21 > 0:12:30Peaky Blinders cap to have one? There you go.Good evening everyone,

0:12:30 > 0:12:33from Match of the Day!Fantastic, not quite what I intended but there

0:12:33 > 0:12:39you are. Actually, I think I need it more than you!Thanks!Quite good,

0:12:39 > 0:12:43Paul Cook, he has a job if he ever leaves the dugout. We have Mark

0:12:43 > 0:12:46Lawrenson alongside us, part of the commentary team. Listening to Paul

0:12:46 > 0:12:50Cook, he looks to be a good frame of mind but he knows, as he says, they

0:12:50 > 0:12:57do not want to be a back page story they get the wrong side of Fylde

0:12:57 > 0:13:00tonight.Yeah, definitely. He was a player and he couldn't run, Cook,

0:13:00 > 0:13:07but his team pass, but if you are playing in League One you can tackle

0:13:07 > 0:13:11and get stuck in. He will not give his players a moment's peace, if

0:13:11 > 0:13:16they are not at it tonight.Paul Cook and Dave Challinor, Tranmere

0:13:16 > 0:13:19fans, played together in the Tranmere team and Dave stayed on and

0:13:19 > 0:13:23they went to do good things in the League Cup as well, but from a Wigan

0:13:23 > 0:13:26perspective Nick Powell is on the bench tonight but there is still

0:13:26 > 0:13:29plenty of quality in the team. There is and I spoke earlier about the

0:13:29 > 0:13:36style of football Paul Cook plays and Lawrence -- and you said how

0:13:36 > 0:13:40good he was as a player, you expecting to really start to dictate

0:13:40 > 0:13:45play, get on the ball and a couple of lads around the place. There are

0:13:45 > 0:13:49a very good attacking side.Do you owe money to that man?

0:13:49 > 0:13:52LAUGHTER Talking about the quality that Wigan

0:13:52 > 0:13:55have got and the fact they are top of League One, playing good

0:13:55 > 0:13:59football, they come here full of confidence as well. Through the

0:13:59 > 0:14:04pitch in as well it's hard to make a case for Fylde, isn't it?It is,

0:14:04 > 0:14:07it's not like they are coming to somewhere where the pitch is bad and

0:14:07 > 0:14:11it's not a great... They are used to this sort of scene. I think the

0:14:11 > 0:14:15weight Paul Cook sets his teams up, pass the ball, work hard, they will

0:14:15 > 0:14:20not be soft in the middle, they will be up for the fight as much as the

0:14:20 > 0:14:23game.That won't affect Fylde's mentality as Dave Challinor was

0:14:23 > 0:14:26telling us and we talked about their ambitions, they want to be a league

0:14:26 > 0:14:33side. I worked this out, their 13 league files within 30 miles of

0:14:33 > 0:14:38here, some real quality in this part of the country. It is but the higher

0:14:38 > 0:14:42up you go, you are trying to pinch everybody else's spectators. We know

0:14:42 > 0:14:46from the best in connection it's really difficult. If you do get semi

0:14:46 > 0:14:51successful at this level you can start to get other supporters, but

0:14:51 > 0:14:53it's really, really tough. When you think about it they don't get

0:14:53 > 0:14:56massive crowds here but the infrastructure is absolutely

0:14:56 > 0:15:01fantastic.It really is. We will let you go into the commentary position.

0:15:01 > 0:15:05I wasn't doing much anyway!Which way are you going? Just walk in

0:15:05 > 0:15:11front of a camera! Don't worry about that! No need to mention the

0:15:11 > 0:15:15trousers. I'm disappointed with the clash with the FA Cup. We are trying

0:15:15 > 0:15:19to get it all in. Strikers get their headlines and tonight is no

0:15:19 > 0:15:25different, Danny Rowe, 2016 scored more goals than Messi, would you

0:15:25 > 0:15:27believe? Is the top scorer in the National League this season but it's

0:15:27 > 0:15:33a tale of two characters on and off is a pitch.

0:15:33 > 0:15:41In football it's different to anything else, confidence, playing

0:15:41 > 0:15:44ability. Away from football and quiet and quite shy. I started

0:15:44 > 0:15:52playing really young. My dad took me down, went on then to play for

0:15:52 > 0:15:57Preston North End. We actually played against Manchester United and

0:15:57 > 0:16:05then they signed me from there. I liked my time at United, being a fan

0:16:05 > 0:16:08as well you getting the best coaching and playing with some of

0:16:08 > 0:16:13the best players as well. The likes of Tom Cleverley, Jonny Evans, Ryan

0:16:13 > 0:16:17Shawcross, Fraizer Campbell. After I'd been released from United I did

0:16:17 > 0:16:20my Jean-Marie Le Pen should ship. I'd lost quite a bit of interest in

0:16:20 > 0:16:26football at the and sorted -- I went to do my joinery apprenticeship. I'd

0:16:26 > 0:16:31lost interest in football. You are lucky to play football and not be

0:16:31 > 0:16:34working like a Murrah Building sight sort of thing. I realised what I

0:16:34 > 0:16:44didn't want to do.

0:16:45 > 0:16:48-- not be working on a building sight, sort of thing. I realised

0:16:48 > 0:16:52what I didn't want to do. People going on about scoring more goals

0:16:52 > 0:16:56than Messi in a calendar year, I didn't think too much about it, you

0:16:56 > 0:17:00just laugh. People would say to me on Twitter and different things but

0:17:00 > 0:17:05obviously Messi is playing a lot higher level than I am so I of never

0:17:05 > 0:17:11compare myself. Jelena brought me to the club just over three years ago.

0:17:11 > 0:17:16He's done really well with Fylde. He's brought them through the Uni

0:17:16 > 0:17:26Bond as well as the Conference. Getting through the first round, is

0:17:26 > 0:17:30a great feeling for the lads. People are coming to watch Wigan, we go

0:17:30 > 0:17:34into the game hoping to win. You only have to look at Lincoln last

0:17:34 > 0:17:38year, they ended up playing Arsenal. But going to the game to win and

0:17:38 > 0:17:43hopefully get to the third round. From the kitchen we have Danny Rowe

0:17:43 > 0:17:49with us tonight, pitch side, along with Jack Muldoon. I have to say

0:17:49 > 0:17:51congratulations, Player of the Month for the National League, given that

0:17:51 > 0:17:54today, and you know full well that all eyes will be on view tonight.

0:17:54 > 0:17:59How are you feeling going into this one?Yeah, feeling good obviously.

0:17:59 > 0:18:02I'm hoping not all eyes are on me from the opposition team, obviously.

0:18:02 > 0:18:08It will be a good game. We know what to expect. They will be a good side.

0:18:08 > 0:18:12Just hope to put a good performance in.You are both wearing gloves

0:18:12 > 0:18:17tonight.Yeah, I took mine out when I was walking the dog. It's not

0:18:17 > 0:18:24really working. Is a sad story about Jack you had a three match ban, you

0:18:24 > 0:18:26were meant to be playing Guiseley tonight and the referee called the

0:18:26 > 0:18:30Guiseley game off three minutes to go.It was very tight, I had the

0:18:30 > 0:18:33pitchfork in my hand is doing everything I could. I made my own

0:18:33 > 0:18:38bed so I lay in it, that's it.You were on a cup run with Lincoln City,

0:18:38 > 0:18:41you know what this is all about. Give us an idea what this is like

0:18:41 > 0:18:53for the players of Fylde, given what you experienced at Lincoln. It's a

0:18:53 > 0:18:56great opportunity for the lads to show what they can do. So yeah, the

0:18:56 > 0:18:59club the size it is, it's a very ambitious place. It's in a good

0:18:59 > 0:19:01place at the moment.Danny, from your own perspective, when you put

0:19:01 > 0:19:07your head on the pillow last night, what was the dream? Patrick?More so

0:19:07 > 0:19:11just coming to the game to win and look forward to the next draw, as

0:19:11 > 0:19:18I'm sure you know my tie would be United away at Old Trafford. That's

0:19:18 > 0:19:24all you think about will stop I'm not bothered about Arsenal. Not

0:19:24 > 0:19:27bothered about Arsenal, he wants Manchester United at Old Trafford in

0:19:27 > 0:19:30the third round. You've got to do the business on the pitch. Enjoy the

0:19:30 > 0:19:36game. Great to grab a word with those two.

0:19:36 > 0:19:42The fans are out in force, five years ago on this date Fylde

0:19:42 > 0:19:47attracted 224 fans for a seventh tier Premier League -- National

0:19:47 > 0:19:50League game against Grantham. Mark Clemmit is somewhere amongst the

0:19:50 > 0:20:01thousands here tonight. Well, you can get a sense of how

0:20:01 > 0:20:06it's bouncing here at the ground, and I've come in amongst the fans.

0:20:06 > 0:20:10They are gathered around, all promise to be on their best

0:20:10 > 0:20:14behaviour, with Warren, Julie and Jack on the end, who is Julie's

0:20:14 > 0:20:1783-year-old dad. Warren, it's an amazing atmosphere. Can you quite

0:20:17 > 0:20:21believe what's happening here?Not tonight, it's not usually like this.

0:20:21 > 0:20:26It's usually a lot quieter. The way the club is going, you can see

0:20:26 > 0:20:31nights like this being more frequent occasions in the future. What, just

0:20:31 > 0:20:36tell me about the make-up of the supporters?It's really good,

0:20:36 > 0:20:40everybody is local which is really good, and it creates a really good

0:20:40 > 0:20:43atmosphere. You've got a lot of Blackpool fans that watchers after

0:20:43 > 0:20:47all the trouble at Blackpool as well. It's a really good atmosphere

0:20:47 > 0:20:51and everybody is local.Listen, enjoy your night everybody. Are you

0:20:51 > 0:20:56confident? Of course they are! Of course they are!

0:20:56 > 0:21:01I think we just about got away with that. Here we are, the teams lined

0:21:01 > 0:21:06up behind us. We have 90 minutes to see who will decide and who will be

0:21:06 > 0:21:10in the draw for the third round of the FA Cup. It's a Fylde taking on

0:21:10 > 0:21:15Wigan Athletic. I've just told the referee, given a thumbs up, they are

0:21:15 > 0:21:18ready to go. I think they are ignoring me, hold on a minute. I'll

0:21:18 > 0:21:22go and get the referee! Rev, are you ready? Let's do this. He's waiting

0:21:22 > 0:21:27for the rest of the players to come out. We can't rush these things!

0:21:27 > 0:21:31There are ten non-league sides left in the FA Cup at this stage, Fylde

0:21:31 > 0:21:35are one of them and they have a great opportunity to make it through

0:21:35 > 0:21:39into that draw on Monday, when the big boys in the Premier League and

0:21:39 > 0:21:40the Championship into the competition. Who knows what will

0:21:40 > 0:21:44happen tonight in the FA Cup. Thankfully the teams are now ready

0:21:44 > 0:21:49to come out, I think. Are you ready, boss? He's looking... Lets go and

0:21:49 > 0:21:56get them, are you ready, referee? Mr Drysdale, you are live on BBC Two.

0:21:56 > 0:22:04If you are ready, we are ready. He's ready! Let's do this! I feel I'm in

0:22:04 > 0:22:08the way a bit but we are now ready for the FA Cup, the second round,

0:22:08 > 0:22:14live on the BBC, on Friday night. After you, boys. Go on. This has

0:22:14 > 0:22:18worked so wonderfully well! I think I'll hand over to the commentary

0:22:18 > 0:22:22team. Mark Lawrenson and also Simon Brotherton. Enjoy the football. I'm

0:22:22 > 0:22:26glad we got that bit tight -- that bit right.

0:22:26 > 0:22:28COMMENTATOR: Good evening, everyone.

0:22:28 > 0:22:31COMMENTATOR: Good evening, everyone. Fylde were

0:22:31 > 0:22:36six divisions below this team, just four years later the gap is down to

0:22:36 > 0:22:41two divisions but still a sizeable 63 places. Wigan are going well,

0:22:41 > 0:22:45leading the way in League One and aiming for an immediate return to

0:22:45 > 0:22:49the Championship, but Fylde's form as good as well. They've won six of

0:22:49 > 0:22:53the last seven matches and clearly feel at home in their shiny new

0:22:53 > 0:23:01stadium here, a year after moving in. It is still a tall order for

0:23:01 > 0:23:03Dave Challinor's men tonight. Wigan are the best team left in the

0:23:03 > 0:23:06competition at the moment, top of League One, having scored the most

0:23:06 > 0:23:09goals and conceded the fewest. Let's look at the Linux. Jay Lynch got to

0:23:09 > 0:23:13the second round with Salford two seasons ago, with Luke Burke

0:23:13 > 0:23:16ineligible to play against his parent club, Jordan Rhodes comes in

0:23:16 > 0:23:24at right back. Lewis Montrose and Andy Bond are in the midfield and

0:23:24 > 0:23:27Danny Rowe is the big threat up front. He scored eight in the last

0:23:27 > 0:23:37seven matches. Moving on to Wigan Athletic. Who welcomed back Dan Burn

0:23:37 > 0:23:41from suspension in central defence. Alex Bruce is the player who makes

0:23:41 > 0:23:45way. The Egyptian international Sam Morsy and Lee Evans are holding

0:23:45 > 0:23:49midfielders. Gavin Massey returns out wide after sitting on the bench

0:23:49 > 0:23:53for the last couple of games, and will Grigg, who has played for

0:23:53 > 0:23:58Northern Ireland, leads the attack. Their top scorer Nick Powell is fit

0:23:58 > 0:24:01after hamstring injury but starts on the bench tonight.

0:24:05 > 0:24:15A tremendous atmosphere in this stadium here at Mill Farm. A big

0:24:15 > 0:24:22objective for a Fylde is to make it into the Football League. Hopefully

0:24:22 > 0:24:25by 2022, that's why they've got 2022 written on their shirts. The referee

0:24:25 > 0:24:32tonight is Darren Drysdale. He took charge of Wigan's 4-1 defeat at

0:24:32 > 0:24:34Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season. It's his

0:24:34 > 0:24:41second FA Cup tie of the campaign, after Swindon's 5-1 victory away to

0:24:41 > 0:24:44Dartford in the first round. Mark Lawrenson is alongside me for this

0:24:44 > 0:24:49one. For a second round tie, we've got all the ingredients, haven't we?

0:24:49 > 0:24:52A decent pitch, the best team left in the competition, and opposition

0:24:52 > 0:24:57who have a chance of making life difficult.I couldn't agree more.

0:24:57 > 0:25:01The problem is the best team left in the competition is the problem. For

0:25:01 > 0:25:05Fylde. They started the season and drew a lot of games, they've got

0:25:05 > 0:25:12used to the league they are in. The facilities etc is top class but they

0:25:12 > 0:25:16must start brightly tonight. The shot of Dave Challinor, the manager

0:25:16 > 0:25:20Fylde who has won promotion in five of eight years in management so far,

0:25:20 > 0:25:25a couple with Colwyn Bay, the rest here in the Northwest. It's Andy

0:25:25 > 0:25:30Bond who will get this match under way and Fylde of the National

0:25:30 > 0:25:34League, all in white, cooking from left to right in the first half, get

0:25:34 > 0:25:38this FA Cup second round up and running against the leaders in

0:25:38 > 0:25:44League One, Wigan Athletic, winners of the FA Cup just four years ago,

0:25:44 > 0:25:48but it's been a lively and topsy-turvy existence for them ever

0:25:48 > 0:25:54since.How quickly have backbone, four years.Absolutely, played

0:25:54 > 0:25:58forward by Lee Evans, Will Grigg goes chasing after it. Will Grigg

0:25:58 > 0:26:02got a goal at the weekend, only his fourth of the season, he's saying

0:26:02 > 0:26:07he's aiming for 20 in League One by the season ends. They were 3-1

0:26:07 > 0:26:10winners at Rotherham. The first touch of the ball for Jamie Jones in

0:26:10 > 0:26:16goal. Straight onto the head of George Edmundson, one of the two

0:26:16 > 0:26:21central defenders for Fylde today. Edmundson on Lod -- on loan from

0:26:21 > 0:26:33Oldham Athletic. Out wide by Dunkley to the far side. Byrne, Shane Duffy.

0:26:33 > 0:26:40He had his -- Chey Dunkley. He had his hands full last weekend, it's

0:26:40 > 0:26:47played long and Francis-Angol tries to get back at it. Wigan quickly get

0:26:47 > 0:26:53forward in support of their own target upfront, then number nine.

0:26:53 > 0:26:58But maybe Fylde can break. Maybe not. It's a great ball played out

0:26:58 > 0:27:03from the back, from Wigan's point of view. Grigg, if anything, he just

0:27:03 > 0:27:07got in a position that neither the left-back in the centre-back for

0:27:07 > 0:27:09Fylde were almost asleep.

0:27:15 > 0:27:21Evans and Morsy just keep it tight, they sit there and give the team a

0:27:21 > 0:27:25nice basically four man box just outside their own penalty area in

0:27:25 > 0:27:31front of the two central defenders. They deny the space for Wigan.Morsy

0:27:31 > 0:27:35has won three caps for Egypt, including the most recent World Cup

0:27:35 > 0:27:39qualifier. They will take their place in Russia next summer, forward

0:27:39 > 0:27:46by Jacobs and up into the off the of Tunnicliffe. -- off the boot of

0:27:46 > 0:27:47Tunnicliffe.

0:27:50 > 0:27:59There's Morsy. Put under pressure. From a keen Sam Finley. This is

0:27:59 > 0:28:08Byrne. Dan Burn, who first came to prominence in full's relegation

0:28:08 > 0:28:15year.An outstanding one night, he needed to become he dealt with about

0:28:15 > 0:28:2180 crosses that day.Wigan push forward now, with Max Power away to

0:28:21 > 0:28:27the farce out. -- way to the far side. Over the top and out of the

0:28:27 > 0:28:35ground.It's not saying a lot at both ends, into the crowd. The boot

0:28:35 > 0:28:38of Michael Jacobs.A little bit of pace and you see the difference, it

0:28:38 > 0:28:43said in a matter of ten or 15 yards and you get the free shot at goal.

0:28:43 > 0:28:48He's the man they'll be trying to get the ball too.Yeah.Danny Rowe,

0:28:48 > 0:28:53three goals in the FA Cup so far already in two matches, two in the

0:28:53 > 0:29:06first round, they were 4-2 winners over Kidderminster Harriers.

0:29:07 > 0:29:10A edge of their own penalty area could leave the door ajar as it's

0:29:10 > 0:29:13skimming into the box now. All hands on deck suddenly for Fylde.

0:29:13 > 0:29:16Possession kept by Lee Evans. Here he is a game. Morsy never far away,

0:29:16 > 0:29:19they are good combination those two. Worked away by Power. This is

0:29:19 > 0:29:25Dunkley.You can see they've got a little bit more time on the ball

0:29:25 > 0:29:28haven't they, Wigan? They've got the confidence of the season they've had

0:29:28 > 0:29:38so far as well.A minimum amount of touches, pass it, move it.Collected

0:29:38 > 0:29:42by Massey, just past the far post. Lovely move. Massie should have

0:29:42 > 0:29:50scored. Just a little bit rash in his finishing in all honesty. Again,

0:29:50 > 0:29:54you saw the pace. In it comes, minimum amount of touches around the

0:29:54 > 0:29:58corner with the ball. Just needs a little dink more than anything.

0:29:58 > 0:30:02Gavin Massey as a player they bought from Leyton Orient during the

0:30:02 > 0:30:07summer, he scored nine goals last season and was close to scoring his

0:30:07 > 0:30:12fourth of the current campaign there. It would be a let off for

0:30:12 > 0:30:17Fylde.Massey just sat out the last couple of matches, having a rest on

0:30:17 > 0:30:25the bench. His manager has put him in today. Danny Rowe...Danny Rowe,

0:30:25 > 0:30:29when you look at the season that Fylde have had, he started off very

0:30:29 > 0:30:33slowly as well, which was key, they didn't start off particularly

0:30:33 > 0:30:41quickly.They've really turn things around, Fylde, in recent matches,

0:30:41 > 0:30:44won six of the last seven, nine points off the play-off spot, a

0:30:44 > 0:30:49couple of games in hand but they've only won one of the previous eight.

0:30:49 > 0:30:53It's perfectly normal.And at the new ground as well.Why wouldn't

0:30:53 > 0:30:58you, it's great.

0:31:02 > 0:31:04Nathan Byrne, attacking

0:31:04 > 0:31:08Nathan Byrne, attacking full-back is held back through the opening

0:31:08 > 0:31:22minutes of this one. Free kick. Conceded here by Lee Evans.

0:31:26 > 0:31:29It is amazing, whatever level you play out but you know when you are

0:31:29 > 0:31:33playing against a really quick team there is that element of nerves when

0:31:33 > 0:31:37you get the ball, almost waiting for somebody to come and challenge you.

0:31:37 > 0:31:44What a job he has done, Dave Challinor. Former world

0:31:44 > 0:31:51record-holder for the longest throw in in football. That's something to

0:31:51 > 0:31:58tell your grandkids!Paul Cook who won League 2 with Portsmouth last

0:31:58 > 0:32:02season.Good player, all left foot, could not run but really good passer

0:32:02 > 0:32:11of the ball. Now having some success in management. Fylde looking to push

0:32:11 > 0:32:17forward here, to the edge of the Wigan penalty area and Danny Rowe,

0:32:17 > 0:32:23who will basically shoot on sight as Sean there. Here come Wigan once

0:32:23 > 0:32:33more, Michael Jacobs, still going. Keeps it away from Jonny Smith. Once

0:32:33 > 0:32:41the

0:32:50 > 0:32:53early touch for Reece James, the left-back. Now with Lee Evans once

0:32:53 > 0:32:59more. Stroking the ball around well, the playing surface here will suit

0:32:59 > 0:33:05them.They are all very comfortable but so far so good for Fylde. Just

0:33:05 > 0:33:12live with it for a while.Montrose tidying up at the back. Cannot keep

0:33:12 > 0:33:14a hold of the ball at the moment.

0:33:19 > 0:33:23That was a great moment, lifting the FA Cup with the 1-0 win over

0:33:23 > 0:33:25Manchester City.

0:33:35 > 0:33:42Only 20 miles away of course, Wigan. 1300 Wigan fans here tonight.Many

0:33:42 > 0:33:45teams in this area.

0:33:47 > 0:33:56Dan Burn.He was suspended for the match at the weekend, the first game

0:33:56 > 0:34:06he has missed all season.Quite comfortable on the ball isn't he?

0:34:06 > 0:34:14Forward by Jacobs, looking for Grigg. Jordan Tunnicliffe scooping

0:34:14 > 0:34:17it high.

0:34:26 > 0:34:29Wigan have got a decent record against non-league opposition in the

0:34:29 > 0:34:34FA Cup winning six of their last seven matches. But they came a

0:34:34 > 0:34:43cropper in 2002, 2000 1-2, beaten by Canvey Island so they have slipped

0:34:43 > 0:34:48on a banana skin before.Did we not go down and cover a live game down

0:34:48 > 0:34:59there? I have an impression they had a good run that year.Did well

0:34:59 > 0:35:06there, turning the defender and making sure he won the throw.I am

0:35:06 > 0:35:11surprised the referee is wearing the same shorts and socks as Wigan, when

0:35:11 > 0:35:13he was playing that pass for a split-second he thought the referee

0:35:13 > 0:35:16was one of his players.

0:35:25 > 0:35:31Long ball forward from Francis-Angol. Bags of time for

0:35:31 > 0:35:37Jamie Jones, the Wigan Athletic goalkeeper. Then it's back with Sam

0:35:37 > 0:35:42Morsy once again. Able to bring it quite a long way here. Edmundson

0:35:42 > 0:35:54getting in ahead of Grigg. Lay by Andy Bond. Francis-Angol. Montrose.

0:35:58 > 0:36:01Fylde settling into life in the National League with that excellent

0:36:01 > 0:36:06recent run, they have been good at home as well, won their last recent

0:36:06 > 0:36:08four or matches.

0:36:14 > 0:36:21That is the difference, Wigan have got so much time, nobody near them.

0:36:21 > 0:36:29Referee Darren Drysdale who as mark was saying is dressed quite

0:36:29 > 0:36:34similarly to Wigan Athletic. Sometimes at this level you just see

0:36:34 > 0:36:39legs, you know, as a player. And as I said, his socks and his shorts are

0:36:39 > 0:36:43the same as the Wigan players.Grigg is having a good battle with

0:36:43 > 0:36:52Edmundson. Won back by James, collected by Jacobs. Just three

0:36:52 > 0:36:56defeats all season in League 1 for Wigan Athletic, they have scored the

0:36:56 > 0:37:02most goals, conceded the fewest.I think you knew when they got

0:37:02 > 0:37:06relegated they were desperate to come back up, they have a big wage

0:37:06 > 0:37:11bill as well for the league that they are in.Andrew Bond. Forward by

0:37:11 > 0:37:18Richard 's. Collected by Bond once more. The space and time in the

0:37:18 > 0:37:24middle of the park. Now perhaps the chance to break year for Max Power,

0:37:24 > 0:37:35sliding it through. Jay Lynch, former Manchester United trainee,

0:37:35 > 0:37:38the National League North goalkeeper of the year last season with

0:37:38 > 0:37:41Salford.

0:37:58 > 0:38:03Good try. You can see the grin on his face, it was worth the effort.

0:38:03 > 0:38:08Jonny Smith rather hoping he might have won the far corner. Some of the

0:38:08 > 0:38:12home crowd saying they cannot quite believe it these days, with the

0:38:12 > 0:38:15scale of things here, it's a fantastic venue and attendances have

0:38:15 > 0:38:22tripled since the move. Averaging over 1600.It all happened very

0:38:22 > 0:38:25quickly, that's the other thing.

0:38:38 > 0:38:46Finley, into Bond. Good turn away from Morsy, some space on this

0:38:46 > 0:38:49nearside, collected by Jordan Richards. He's not seen a lot of

0:38:49 > 0:38:55action in the first team. Coming in and playing at full today, Jordan

0:38:55 > 0:39:05Richards. The last time he started before today was the fourth

0:39:05 > 0:39:08qualifying round against Wrexham.

0:39:20 > 0:39:23Richard is rather hurried with the ball into the centre. Brought under

0:39:23 > 0:39:29control by Finley, Tunnicliffe, Francis-Angol waiting on the far

0:39:29 > 0:39:40side. Taking on Massey. It's a way off the head of Dunkley, back to

0:39:40 > 0:39:47Montrose. Plenty of Wigan players back behind the ball, very

0:39:47 > 0:39:54confidently uncomfortably dealt with. This is Will Grigg.Good

0:39:54 > 0:39:59player, good hold-up play. Beautifully spread a way to the far

0:39:59 > 0:40:08side from Morsy. Max Power on the overlap. Nathan Byrne has lost his

0:40:08 > 0:40:21way a little bit, here is Jonny Smith. No foul.Good tackle. Max

0:40:21 > 0:40:26Power beaten to it by Francis-Angol, well timed intervention from the

0:40:26 > 0:40:32full-back. Smith overran it, but it foot on the ball to try to play and

0:40:32 > 0:40:39overran it and straightaway Wigan in a threatening position.Zaine

0:40:39 > 0:40:46Francis-Angol, former Motherwell player from 2012-2015. Arrived at

0:40:46 > 0:40:52Fylde from Kidderminster over the summer. The shot straight into the

0:40:52 > 0:40:59glance of Jay Lynch. Galactica bit too much.

0:41:12 > 0:41:15Beaten to it.

0:41:19 > 0:41:28Jay Lynch, Fylde keeping clean sheets in almost half of the

0:41:28 > 0:41:30competitive fixtures they have played this season, a rather tough

0:41:30 > 0:41:39nut to crack.

0:41:44 > 0:41:52Too much room again.Straight down the spine of the pitch, outweighed

0:41:52 > 0:42:08to Massey. Won by Evans, collected by Rowe, gets it clear of James.

0:42:08 > 0:42:13Again, quickly across to see what's coming. At the moment Wigan look

0:42:13 > 0:42:16very comfortable don't they?

0:42:28 > 0:42:31Going to chase that one but very much second favourite to Smith,

0:42:31 > 0:42:38Massey. Jonny Smith one of those coming into the team today. On loan

0:42:38 > 0:42:45from Bristol City until January. Just 20 years old. Getting a bit of

0:42:45 > 0:42:47experience.

0:42:57 > 0:43:02Put themselves in a bit of a tight corner there.Did not really need to

0:43:02 > 0:43:13do it did they?Jay Lynch not overly impressed with how that turned out.

0:43:13 > 0:43:22No. But he didn't exactly bring it into his full-back.Into the air by

0:43:22 > 0:43:28James, Will Grigg going for it and a collision with George Edmundson.I

0:43:28 > 0:43:32think it was there to be won. Edmundson got there a little bit

0:43:32 > 0:43:39late and caught him.You could hear the clatter up here.You could. I

0:43:39 > 0:43:49think he will be all right. Here it is again.Just a bit late, caught

0:43:49 > 0:43:53him on the bottom of his boots didn't he? Surprised he didn't

0:43:53 > 0:44:03injure himself. He is up, he is fine. Edmundson hardly noticed

0:44:03 > 0:44:10anyway. He has been good for Fylde, on loan from Oldham Athletic, Man of

0:44:10 > 0:44:17the Match on debut. What can Lee Evans do with this?

0:44:20 > 0:44:33Fair old distance out.Might have gone in on the second bounce.Unable

0:44:33 > 0:44:41to test Jay Lynch this time. Not even the tallest wall was it?Made

0:44:41 > 0:44:46his debut for Wales last month and scored the winner against Crawley in

0:44:46 > 0:44:53the first round from 35 yards. Absolute cracker of a shot, unlike

0:44:53 > 0:44:57that one. Here is James.

0:45:11 > 0:45:21Bit of a waste. They have just seem to have worked it out a bit more,

0:45:21 > 0:45:25Fylde, sat back a bit more, not as much time on the ball for the Wigan

0:45:25 > 0:45:30players. That makes a bit of a difference.Bags of enthusiasm in

0:45:30 > 0:45:38this part of the world for Fylde. Quite a project for the club as they

0:45:38 > 0:45:43come up through the divisions, just one step away from their big goal of

0:45:43 > 0:45:48making it to the Football League. Absolutely, talking to the chairman,

0:45:48 > 0:45:56he's got a real vision for the club. The referee did well, foul on

0:45:56 > 0:46:07Montrose. But let it see if the move would develop.20 minutes into this

0:46:07 > 0:46:12one and Wigan 64% possession thus far. But the most important

0:46:12 > 0:46:18statistic is no goals for either side.It is but Wigan supporters

0:46:18 > 0:46:25will feel they should be 1-0 up. Committed, the flag gone up on the

0:46:25 > 0:46:30nearside.I think one or two supporters. Maybe that was a foul on

0:46:30 > 0:46:34the goalkeeper but it was offside. The goalkeeper did not exactly fill

0:46:34 > 0:46:38you full of confidence the way he came for this. Clearly offside. But

0:46:38 > 0:46:46watch him. Bit of a Superman wasn't it? I think he might have abdicated

0:46:46 > 0:46:49on how he came out for it.

0:46:53 > 0:46:59Jamie Jones who has made over 300 appearances in his career. Joined in

0:46:59 > 0:47:07August and has been a regular since lonely Walton broke his leg. But I

0:47:07 > 0:47:13gather he is only a few weeks away from making his return, possibly. A

0:47:13 > 0:47:19chilly Friday night in December, live from Fylde. It was a glorious

0:47:19 > 0:47:25sunset before, did you see it? I thought I was somewhere else before.

0:47:31 > 0:47:38Francis-Angol with the throw for Fylde. Looking to string something

0:47:38 > 0:47:46together. Little inside the Wigan penalty area so far. Reaching the

0:47:46 > 0:47:57midway point of the first-half.Dave channel or will be -- Dave Challinor

0:47:57 > 0:48:02will be pleased, they are improving, that is all they can ask for.James

0:48:02 > 0:48:12has got well forward. But did not quite keep the ball in play.Yeah,

0:48:12 > 0:48:19he will be quite pleased, so far. Good win on the road at the weekend,

0:48:19 > 0:48:261-0 down at Dover. They do some travelling in that league don't

0:48:26 > 0:48:37they? Crikey. Imagine that one, Dover, to

0:48:38 > 0:48:41Barrow.

0:48:44 > 0:48:51Keeps it clear of Finley. France's angle being put under pressure.

0:48:51 > 0:48:57Evans once more for Wigan. Into the box it goes, gets up well, smacking

0:48:57 > 0:49:05the frame of the ball. -- of the goal. Fylde survived an anxious

0:49:05 > 0:49:11moment and play their way out of trouble. Will Grigg so close to

0:49:11 > 0:49:16giving Wigan the lead. But now it's wet and the bond to place it

0:49:16 > 0:49:20forward, he was looking for Danny Rowe and the flag is up

0:49:20 > 0:49:25straightaway. This is Will Grigg, let's look at this chance again.

0:49:25 > 0:49:31Seemed to come off the back of a centre-back. Two heads at once which

0:49:31 > 0:49:36helped it go up and spiral. This will show us better.Time stood

0:49:36 > 0:49:44still for a moment.It did. Double-header between the two of

0:49:44 > 0:49:54them.

0:49:56 > 0:50:03Forward by Dunkley but rather heavy fitted. That is a waste. Once it

0:50:03 > 0:50:08into his feet in that position, Will Grigg. Will Grigg closest to scoring

0:50:08 > 0:50:12and if you have joined our coverage little late there was a chance early

0:50:12 > 0:50:24in the match which Gavin Massey boot just wide of the post. Forward year

0:50:24 > 0:50:28by Tunnicliffe, it was Rowe with the head down. Wigan dominating the

0:50:28 > 0:50:35possession.There is always an extra option for Wigan on the ball than

0:50:35 > 0:50:45there is for Fylde.Grigg continues his tussle with Edmundson. Looking

0:50:45 > 0:50:49for a Danny Rowe, he's not really had anything to work with so far in

0:50:49 > 0:50:54the match. He is there a record goal-scorer, scored a hat full

0:50:54 > 0:50:59including eight in the last seven games. Montrose, Francis-Angol.

0:50:59 > 0:51:08Jonny Smith. Trying to use his pace. He was clearly held up it would seem

0:51:08 > 0:51:13by Nathan Byrne.I don't think he was getting the ball though, was he?

0:51:13 > 0:51:16Richard 's.

0:51:24 > 0:51:28They have not got the ball out to an Anderson very much. Flicking it on,

0:51:28 > 0:51:35collected by Danny Rowe, looks for the chance to shoot but still cannot

0:51:35 > 0:51:40see the opening. Jonny Smith had made the run.On a couple of

0:51:40 > 0:51:43occasions had enough space to hit the ball but wasn't quite sure on

0:51:43 > 0:51:54his left foot. Comes alive doesn't he? Anywhere around the penalty

0:51:54 > 0:52:12area.He was desperate to have a crack.Pull the trigger.Danny Rowe

0:52:12 > 0:52:26with 432 -- 132 goals in total for Fylde. Just the 55 last season. Five

0:52:26 > 0:52:32more than Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Not quite the same

0:52:32 > 0:52:45opposition of course.He played for a team I once played for.Forward by

0:52:45 > 0:52:49an Anderson who continues his run, he was rather hoping the ball would

0:52:49 > 0:52:52be played in his direction but they've gone the other way. France's

0:52:52 > 0:53:01angle here. Rowe's just dropping a bit deeper. Now he's going to get

0:53:01 > 0:53:05forward, France's angle, this is a bit better, chance to cross for

0:53:05 > 0:53:10Smith but just too far in front of Danny Rowe enabling Dan Burn to put

0:53:10 > 0:53:15it behind but Fylde of the National League have their first corner.Best

0:53:15 > 0:53:20move of the game for them so far, you mentioned Danny Rowe being deep,

0:53:20 > 0:53:23a bit more further forward and he might have been able to get on the

0:53:23 > 0:53:25end of the cross.

0:53:36 > 0:53:39Danny Rowe was released by Manchester United at the age of 16,

0:53:39 > 0:53:43went down to the 11th tier and is working his way back up. Can he get

0:53:43 > 0:53:48on the end of this one? Bit of a stretch, Edmundson trying to get on

0:53:48 > 0:53:54the end of it.I read a piece on him this morning saying he fell out of

0:53:54 > 0:53:56love with football.

0:54:09 > 0:54:14Only as far as Andy Bond but he was quickly closed down by Sam Morsy who

0:54:14 > 0:54:18does a great job in that deep midfield role, the holding midfield

0:54:18 > 0:54:24role for Wigan Athletic. Sturdy challenge from Evans on the Gavin

0:54:24 > 0:54:38Massey in midfield. Sam Finley on Massey.I am not sure about that

0:54:38 > 0:54:47either you know. Not sure that was a free kick.

0:55:08 > 0:55:13Wigan get the throw. Of Jordan Tunnicliffe. Paul Cook in the

0:55:13 > 0:55:16middle, they have got some experience on the bench, in the back

0:55:16 > 0:55:23row Alex Bruce. He is at the club were his dad was the manager for 18

0:55:23 > 0:55:30months awhile ago.Peter Reed is involved here as well.Played at the

0:55:30 > 0:55:37weekend and scored a lovely goal. Played extremely well. He's a bit

0:55:37 > 0:55:41unlucky to be sitting on the bench watching this one in some respects.

0:55:41 > 0:55:47Now, Chien Dunkley. Another player who previously played for

0:55:47 > 0:55:56Kidderminster Harriers.There is that space again.Whenever Sam Morsy

0:55:56 > 0:56:00picks the ball up he always has a lot of space to move into, pushing

0:56:00 > 0:56:05forward in front of him. They look a player like in midfield, that is the

0:56:05 > 0:56:09problem for Fylde. -- a player like in

0:56:13 > 0:56:17he has been a regular since he signed a couple of years ago from

0:56:17 > 0:56:21Wolves, Paul Cook says his workrate and attitude make him a dream to

0:56:21 > 0:56:27work with.

0:56:27 > 0:56:33Reece James for Wigan. Less than 15 minutes to go until half-time.

0:56:33 > 0:56:37Montrose.

0:56:42 > 0:56:49Some of the distribution has been a little wayward.Fylde more so just

0:56:49 > 0:56:53because they are under a bit more pressure on the ball than Wigan are,

0:56:53 > 0:56:59as you would expect. But it is so far, so good.Forward towards Will

0:56:59 > 0:57:10Grigg. Collected by Lee Evans. Bit of space as they push forward.

0:57:10 > 0:57:13Jacobs, into the middle and France's angle gets it away and the

0:57:13 > 0:57:24clearances complete by Ezewele. But more defending to do here. It's a

0:57:24 > 0:57:28corner for Wigan. The move leading up to the corner was the best

0:57:28 > 0:57:33football Wigan have played so far. Minimum amount of touches, moved the

0:57:33 > 0:57:39ball around very, very quickly. Beautifully done, Max Power

0:57:39 > 0:57:43involved. But in the end is Zaine Francis-Angol got it away. First

0:57:43 > 0:57:55corner actually for the League 1 leaders. The header by Montrose. It

0:57:55 > 0:57:59will be a Wigan Athletic throw.

0:58:15 > 0:58:27Bags of time here. Sam Morsy. Reece James. Continued his run on this

0:58:27 > 0:58:34nearside in support of Jacobs. And it comes and Francis-Angol stooping

0:58:34 > 0:58:43to get his head to the ball.Great pressure from Wigan.Dominating play

0:58:43 > 0:58:48here with 12 minutes to go until half-time. Max Power goes for the

0:58:48 > 0:58:56return, still with Power, trying to tiptoe his way through. That's the

0:58:56 > 0:58:59difference, just the speed of thought and movement, just cannot

0:58:59 > 0:59:03quite get in.

0:59:06 > 0:59:10One thing about Paul Cook coming here tonight, he knew it would be a

0:59:10 > 0:59:16tough game and has put out the strongest team he possibly can.

0:59:16 > 0:59:23Complement to Fylde.Unfortunately for Richards the ball just rolled

0:59:23 > 0:59:27out of play after he won it back.

0:59:36 > 0:59:42Wigan will have a free kick year despite Sam Finley's protests.

0:59:59 > 1:00:03This is what they are good at Wigan, they always seem to be able to get

1:00:03 > 1:00:07from one side out to the other and this is what happens, they get a bit

1:00:07 > 1:00:12of space in midfield.Morsy just getting tangled up a little bit with

1:00:12 > 1:00:17Finlay who is chipping away at him. Looking to get the game moving

1:00:17 > 1:00:26again. Lee Evans. Nathan Byrne towards Massey. Solid again for

1:00:26 > 1:00:37Fylde. It's a long chase for Ezewele.Even if they do win the

1:00:37 > 1:00:41ball there is really nobody to hit with it and they end up just giving

1:00:41 > 1:00:46the ball away, Fylde. Consequently Wigan come right back at them. But

1:00:46 > 1:00:49for all the play they have had Wigan have only had a of chances.

1:00:55 > 1:01:00Michael Jacobs looks for an opening, he's going to have a go. He's just a

1:01:00 > 1:01:06little too high over the angle of post and bar, into the crowd. We've

1:01:06 > 1:01:10probably seen on three or four separate occasions, all that space,

1:01:10 > 1:01:11all that space.

1:01:22 > 1:01:30Michael Jacobs, can play on either flank.

1:01:44 > 1:01:55Richards, straight onto the head of Jacobs. Time for Dan Burn. A touch

1:01:55 > 1:01:58for Jamie Jones, the goalkeeper, who hasn't really had anything to do in

1:01:58 > 1:02:02this match so far. Certainly in terms of the opposition testing him

1:02:02 > 1:02:06out. Nathan Byrne forward, Gavin Massey will chase and Jay Leach

1:02:06 > 1:02:13swiftly out of his penalty area. Andy Bond has some support. It's

1:02:13 > 1:02:20Jonny Smith. Danny Rowe, heading in towards the near post, but dealt

1:02:20 > 1:02:26with by Nathan Byrne. Has to settle for a goal kick. When Jonny Smith

1:02:26 > 1:02:29got the ball he did look up but there was nobody in the opposition

1:02:29 > 1:02:31penalty area.

1:02:37 > 1:02:42So far, with 37 minutes played, Fylde have had one touch of the ball

1:02:42 > 1:02:46inside the Wigan penalty area. Yet to test Jamie Jones in goal.

1:02:57 > 1:03:04Now it's with Sam Morsy. Collected by James.

1:03:11 > 1:03:20Morsy. Again, he's got time in possession. This is Power. And

1:03:20 > 1:03:23Jacobs.

1:03:27 > 1:03:32Time to collect it and get clear of Finley, and Jacobs is going all the

1:03:32 > 1:03:40way to the area, going for it. Again.Again, a trick on the ball

1:03:40 > 1:03:47and Wigan were in, far too easy. Wigan looking to force something

1:03:47 > 1:03:54here.We head into the latter stages of this first half, inside the last

1:03:54 > 1:03:55seven minutes, before the break.

1:04:01 > 1:04:09Morsy again able to run. No one is closing him down. The Portier --

1:04:09 > 1:04:13support from James with the ball over and the pressure is going up,

1:04:13 > 1:04:18notch by not share. It is. Hanging on a little bit, Fylde. They can't

1:04:18 > 1:04:21come to terms with the movement from Wigan.

1:04:25 > 1:04:30Certainly being given plenty of time on the ball, in and around the Fylde

1:04:30 > 1:04:35penalty area. Here we go once more. It bounces through. There's a

1:04:35 > 1:04:38chance, over the top of the crossbar from Lee Evans and what a good

1:04:38 > 1:04:42chance that was to break the deadlock. He snatched at it, didn't

1:04:42 > 1:04:47he? He knows, as well. It came through a crowd of players, but it's

1:04:47 > 1:04:53no excuse. Of course he knows. In the end it had to bounce really

1:04:53 > 1:05:03nicely for him. And you're back, son. -- bend your back, son. If he

1:05:03 > 1:05:10bends his back, he probably scores. So another chance goes begging for

1:05:10 > 1:05:13Wigan Athletic here in this first half.

1:05:20 > 1:05:24Not too hard to swallow for Paul Cook, by the looks of things.

1:05:24 > 1:05:32There's Danny Rowe, sending it forward and Ezewele will chase hard

1:05:32 > 1:05:36and get their ahead of James. He waits for some support. He gets it

1:05:36 > 1:05:43from Finley. And it's been given as a goal kick. They were hoping for a

1:05:43 > 1:05:48free kick up there. The referee is having a quick word with Finley. It

1:05:48 > 1:05:57was a foul. If you want to get ahead, get a hat. Or get ahead that

1:05:57 > 1:06:02will fit in it!It would help! A couple of things to point your way.

1:06:02 > 1:06:05The rugby league World Cup final will be on BBC One tomorrow morning

1:06:05 > 1:06:10from 8:30am, as England take on the hosts, Australia and football focus

1:06:10 > 1:06:17comes live from Fleetwood. Tomorrow, with Dan Walker lake, Dion Dublin,

1:06:17 > 1:06:29on midday from BBC One.Have they got Hereford, is that right?Josh --

1:06:29 > 1:06:33Josh Ezewele is one of those coming into the team today, a right back,

1:06:33 > 1:06:35but playing on the right-hand side of their attack today. Just one

1:06:35 > 1:06:43appearance in three months before tonight. We can quite clearly --

1:06:43 > 1:06:47Wigan quite clearly having more of the attacking play. No surprise

1:06:47 > 1:06:50there, I think.

1:06:57 > 1:07:03Nathan Byrne here for Wigan Athletic. A little heavy footed. He

1:07:03 > 1:07:10was looking for Gavin Massey over on the far side, but it's straight out

1:07:10 > 1:07:15to Francis-Angol. It looks as though Dave channel and has been making

1:07:15 > 1:07:21some notes for half-time, less than five minutes away -- Dave Challinor.

1:07:21 > 1:07:25He will be happy to get them in, reset, as it were.

1:07:37 > 1:07:39This is Lewis Montrose.

1:07:46 > 1:07:53For Josh Ezewele to chase after. They need to push in, and on. If

1:07:53 > 1:07:59they try to keep Wigan if -- in their own half, try to pinch it off

1:07:59 > 1:08:03them there. There we go, get the ball back.

1:08:11 > 1:08:14Fylde supporters were celebrating their team winning the National

1:08:14 > 1:08:20League North only last season. Establishing themselves now in the

1:08:20 > 1:08:23National League, and hearing the second round of the FA Cup for the

1:08:23 > 1:08:33first time in the club's history. They were in the first round four

1:08:33 > 1:08:37times in the last half-dozen years now. Can they make it into the hat

1:08:37 > 1:08:45for round three? Away by Edmonson. Only as far as Finley will stop

1:08:45 > 1:08:51Morsy writes that challenge of Ezewele, finds Max Power who in turn

1:08:51 > 1:08:59Bex Outram Gavin Massey. Space again for Morsy in midfield here. Nathan

1:08:59 > 1:09:03Byrne, the fullback, heading forward and now in possession. Byrne whips

1:09:03 > 1:09:09that one in two Will Grigg, who scores. Will Grigg for Wigan

1:09:09 > 1:09:13Athletic just a couple of minutes before the break! The pressure

1:09:13 > 1:09:18finally tells. Filed nil, Wigan one. Theyeah, it's thoroughly deserved

1:09:18 > 1:09:23and as you said a few minutes ago it was coming. The pressure was

1:09:23 > 1:09:26building up. A lovely cross as well when we see this. The fullback did

1:09:26 > 1:09:30great.

1:09:37 > 1:09:41The great thing with him as well, when the ball comes to him, he just

1:09:41 > 1:09:46decides to come inside, a little movement in the feet, Grigg's

1:09:46 > 1:09:50movement was absolutely fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Just left

1:09:50 > 1:09:55Edmonson for dead, didn't it? That's very probably the difference between

1:09:55 > 1:09:59a two teams, just sometimes you watch the ball and play it at a

1:09:59 > 1:10:02lower level and you don't have to hit that quick movement and if the

1:10:02 > 1:10:05delivery is right that's what happens. They are looking to try to

1:10:05 > 1:10:09catch them out again here now, Lee Evans trying to break forward. It's

1:10:09 > 1:10:16kept out by Andy Bond. Grigg as a player who has reached the 20 goal

1:10:16 > 1:10:20mark in three previous campaigns at League One level, looking to do so

1:10:20 > 1:10:23again this season. Of course he's played as an international with

1:10:23 > 1:10:26Northern Ireland as well.

1:10:30 > 1:10:36This looks a bit more promising for Fylde. Into the near post, the first

1:10:36 > 1:10:40time that Jamie Jones has been required to make a save and get its

1:10:40 > 1:10:48gloves on the ball.It wasn't across, just to get a bit of room.

1:10:48 > 1:10:53Just didn't need much movement but just that quick movement, half a

1:10:53 > 1:11:00yard, bang, gone. The difference in the league. If they can get in at

1:11:00 > 1:11:071-0 at half-time Fylde will feel they are still in this cup tie.The

1:11:07 > 1:11:18difference when you look at it,... Morsy, who directs a lot of Wigan's

1:11:18 > 1:11:24play.He has the ability to get himself in a position, the green

1:11:24 > 1:11:30pitch around him.A bit loose that clearance one more. There goes the

1:11:30 > 1:11:34half-time whistle. It was shortly before the half-time break that Will

1:11:34 > 1:11:38Grigg gave Wigan Athletic the lead, having earlier hit the frame of the

1:11:38 > 1:11:42goal. They've had two or three chances during the first half,

1:11:42 > 1:11:46Wigan. They've had most of the play, despite the fact that Fylde had kept

1:11:46 > 1:11:51it pretty tight for the most part and chantss at a premium but it's

1:11:51 > 1:11:56Will Grigg's goal, late in the first half, that gives the former FA Cup

1:11:56 > 1:12:03winners Wigan Athletic zero win at half-time. -- a 1-0 lead at

1:12:03 > 1:12:07half-time. It's a cruel way to

1:12:07 > 1:12:08half-time. It's a cruel way to concede but you

1:12:08 > 1:12:12said how good the Wigan side were. What's your assessment of the first

1:12:12 > 1:12:16half?We've been under pressure as I thought we would be. Disappointed to

1:12:16 > 1:12:20concede as we have with a throw-in but we've been punished if you make

1:12:20 > 1:12:27mistakes. We'll push ourselves down in the second half. What will be the

1:12:27 > 1:12:31key in the second half? We've got to get higher up the pitch. We want to

1:12:31 > 1:12:34play, but ultimately we want to put them under pressure and other minute

1:12:34 > 1:12:39we are giving the ball away in our defensive and middle third, so we

1:12:39 > 1:12:43need to get higher up the pitch and cause them more problems. We'll let

1:12:43 > 1:12:46you get in and communicate to the players. Let's grab a word with

1:12:46 > 1:12:50Kevin Kilbane and Danny Webber, if you have just joined as it's Friday

1:12:50 > 1:12:54night FA Cup and Fylde are the non-league taking on Wigan, top of

1:12:54 > 1:12:59League One. The League One side leading by 1-0. Dave Challinor

1:12:59 > 1:13:02saying he's trying to get his team further up the pitch in the second

1:13:02 > 1:13:06half, but it's hard when you are playing the team with the best

1:13:06 > 1:13:10defence in League One and the best attack. TheLawrenson said that in

1:13:10 > 1:13:14commentary, when they've had the ball, they've been no one for them

1:13:14 > 1:13:18to find. They've contained Wigan, stopped the attacks, but the out

1:13:18 > 1:13:23ball has been a problem in getting forward. What about the quality from

1:13:23 > 1:13:27Wigan? We will see in a moment, we'll have a look through the goal,

1:13:27 > 1:13:30in every area of the pitch they didn't look like they were

1:13:30 > 1:13:34struggling to night, Wigan?Know, basically they've picked up where

1:13:34 > 1:13:37they've left in the league. They are confident on the ball, trying to

1:13:37 > 1:13:40play from the back, Morsy in midfield enjoying himself out there.

1:13:40 > 1:13:44They look like at any moment they can step it up and created chance.

1:13:44 > 1:13:48Let's look at the goal a few minutes before half-time and Will Grigg, who

1:13:48 > 1:13:52had a chance earlier on in the half, great delivery, a really good

1:13:52 > 1:13:56header.You said the movement was excellent, as Nathan Byrne slips it

1:13:56 > 1:13:59onto his left foot and he's on the move Will Grigg, he gets across his

1:13:59 > 1:14:03man at the near post. It's a really good header, a brilliantly worked

1:14:03 > 1:14:08goal. The cross was quality. It's about the quality of the cross. You

1:14:08 > 1:14:18see Byrne shifts it inside, but is favoured foot but a boring. Easy for

1:14:18 > 1:14:21Grigg.The guys were saying that earlier in the half Wigan had 60 or

1:14:21 > 1:14:2465% possession and a lot was going through Sam Morsy, the captain and

1:14:24 > 1:14:26they were dominant going forward particularly in the middle of the

1:14:26 > 1:14:31park.That's where they are driving from, when Morsy gets

1:14:31 > 1:14:31park.That's where they are driving from, when Morsy gets the

1:14:31 > 1:14:32park.That's where they are driving from, when Morsy gets the ball he

1:14:32 > 1:14:37drives with pace. You see here just moving the ball comfortably, Morsy

1:14:37 > 1:14:43is the key to it all. They are trying to draw Fylde out, tried to

1:14:43 > 1:14:47pull them out of position and as soon as an opportunity pops up.

1:14:47 > 1:14:51That's the problem, they haven't had the chance. He sat in very well

1:14:51 > 1:14:54organised, very deep, almost trying to deny space and behind but it's

1:14:54 > 1:14:57the pressure of not getting onto ball midfield that has allowed Wigan

1:14:57 > 1:15:03to dictate a lot of the play.Here's Morsy again. He's a quality

1:15:03 > 1:15:07footballer.The one thing he is not shy of doing, if he can see space in

1:15:07 > 1:15:12front of him he will step in. When he has this amount of space in front

1:15:12 > 1:15:15of him he's not afraid to drive into the space. Is an excellent

1:15:15 > 1:15:19footballer.You see some players shy away from the ball but he wants it,

1:15:19 > 1:15:25happy to have it and he uses it well as well. That's it, it's the key to

1:15:25 > 1:15:29using it as a centre midfielder, passing forward. It's easy to go

1:15:29 > 1:15:34sideways.You want that as a striker, get the ball in and move it

1:15:34 > 1:15:37around.Definitely, you know what you are getting from him, you can

1:15:37 > 1:15:42make your runs early and with the quality he has shown so far he can

1:15:42 > 1:15:49deliver.They had a couple of other chances, Wigan. Lee Evans had a

1:15:49 > 1:15:51great chance will stopit was brilliantly worked. Grigg have the

1:15:51 > 1:15:55chance. He sees movement. He picks up the flight of the ball very well.

1:15:55 > 1:15:59Trying to get across is man. Unfortunate it cannoned back off the

1:15:59 > 1:16:05bar. That's the best chance of the half, before the goal for Wigan.

1:16:05 > 1:16:13It's Evans again. Just drives on the ball.Is almost too easy, you think

1:16:13 > 1:16:16you're going to school and before you know it you will have leaned

1:16:16 > 1:16:20back and it's over the bar. He's got quite a lot of space and time to get

1:16:20 > 1:16:24it down. There wasn't much from Fylde, but when they did get

1:16:24 > 1:16:27forward, we talked about Danny Rowe, there was one occasion when you

1:16:27 > 1:16:33wanted to see him drive into the box a bit more.Yeah, just tear it is

1:16:33 > 1:16:37very one paced and Dan Burn and always has him in his sights. He

1:16:37 > 1:16:41knows is going wide. He's the only front man. He has to make up the

1:16:41 > 1:16:45five yards and get across Dan Burn, into the space. In the keeper's

1:16:45 > 1:16:50byline, then you have yourself a tap in at least there, but that little

1:16:50 > 1:16:54bit you need to see a bit more.We can look in the Fylde dressing room.

1:16:54 > 1:16:58Dave Challinor said what he would tell his players, here are here's

1:16:58 > 1:17:01trying to get them further up the pitch in the second half, but it's

1:17:01 > 1:17:07tough. They are a big team, Wigan at the back particularly.Dan Burn,

1:17:07 > 1:17:10he's your height, but they are very good. Everyone is comfortable on the

1:17:10 > 1:17:14ball within Wigan's defence and midfield and the difficulty is for

1:17:14 > 1:17:17Fylde, you get yourself back, well-organised, in the shape of the

1:17:17 > 1:17:23team, but they have to try and find an out ball. They have to be more

1:17:23 > 1:17:28adventurous themselves.It's only 1-0, isn't it? They can go for it a

1:17:28 > 1:17:33bit more and it might end up being four or five, but why not? They have

1:17:33 > 1:17:3845 minutes to try to keep themselves in the Cup.You have to go forward

1:17:38 > 1:17:41with confidence, you have 45 minutes and it takes a moment of magic to

1:17:41 > 1:17:47get yourself in the game, it changes the mental balance, Wigan all the

1:17:47 > 1:17:50Saddam on the back foot and you are in the ascendancy. If you don't

1:17:50 > 1:17:56believe, you have no chance. If you keep it as it is for ten or 15

1:17:56 > 1:18:01minutes and then go for it, or do you manage it?They have to get a

1:18:01 > 1:18:07goal now, but if they keep it as they are, 1- 0415 or 20 minutes

1:18:07 > 1:18:11that's not a bad sign because they know at any stage they can get

1:18:11 > 1:18:17bodies forward and get into advanced positions. We haven't got far to go

1:18:17 > 1:18:23for Football Focus, add Fleetwood and Juliette Ferrington has been

1:18:23 > 1:18:26there as the team prepare for the visit of Hereford.

1:18:32 > 1:18:37Just explain the structure that this club has compared to others? There's

1:18:37 > 1:18:42something in place that a club like Fleetwood Town is capable of

1:18:42 > 1:18:47competing with big towns, with London, with Manchester, so there

1:18:47 > 1:18:55are facilities in place, the sporting director, and all the clubs

1:18:55 > 1:18:59I've managed in England. What about the fans, they come for a cup of

1:18:59 > 1:19:06tea.In clubs it is normal, the supporters can watch training, can

1:19:06 > 1:19:09watch their idols and in England a loss of the football clubs are very

1:19:09 > 1:19:13isolated. People don't have any access. But our chairman thinks

1:19:13 > 1:19:17different and it's a very open club and I think that's a little bit

1:19:17 > 1:19:24different to many others.Nathan Thorley you've been here a long

1:19:24 > 1:19:31time, in the Guinness Book of World Records. Why is that?I'm in the

1:19:31 > 1:19:33records for seven different divisions with the same club, going

1:19:33 > 1:19:39through the divisions with the same club. How important is the FA Cup to

1:19:39 > 1:19:43a club like Fleetwood?It's very important. It's non-league, you have

1:19:43 > 1:19:48to go to the qualifying round, the dream is to get to the first round

1:19:48 > 1:19:52and play a local league team. You get to the third round, since we've

1:19:52 > 1:19:58been here we've never got to a Premier League team, so I'd like to

1:19:58 > 1:20:02get Man City away because I'm a Man City fan, but I do know is that

1:20:02 > 1:20:05would be a good experience are nightmare, the way they are playing

1:20:05 > 1:20:12at the moment! You like the FA Cup? I love it. I love it as a player and

1:20:12 > 1:20:16as a coach and you know what a nice experience we have together at

1:20:16 > 1:20:19Wigan, when we came to the semifinal and lost on penalties. We can

1:20:19 > 1:20:23measure ourselves against the best, probably against clubs above us, but

1:20:23 > 1:20:29for doing that we need to first beat Hereford.

1:20:29 > 1:20:40Was good to hear from Uwe Rosler so we're making the short trip tomorrow

1:20:40 > 1:20:44to Fleetwood, and all the action at 4:30pm. Set your alarm is, the Rugby

1:20:44 > 1:20:48league World Cup final tomorrow morning. A bumper week of sport for

1:20:48 > 1:20:53you. I'm delighted to say we are joined by both chairman on the side

1:20:53 > 1:20:55of the picture Fylde, David Haythornthwaite and David Sharpe

1:20:55 > 1:20:59from Wigan. Thank you. One of you is smiling and one not, but neither of

1:20:59 > 1:21:04you are smiling at the moment! David, what is your assessment of

1:21:04 > 1:21:07the first half? 0-0 would have been a great position for Fylde but the

1:21:07 > 1:21:11goal just before the end has swung things in your favour a little bit.

1:21:11 > 1:21:16Yeah, you have to give credit to Fylde. I was saying to David, they

1:21:16 > 1:21:20deserved to go in 0-0 at half-time, they had a couple of chances but it

1:21:20 > 1:21:24was a great cross and will Grigg, that's what he does, so we are

1:21:24 > 1:21:34delighted to be 1-0 up.

1:21:38 > 1:21:41About you, David? 0-0 would have been lovely.Yeah, the first five

1:21:41 > 1:21:43minutes I thought we were going to get killed, Wigan were playing

1:21:43 > 1:21:47fantastic. We settles down and I was hoping we would going 0-0 but it's a

1:21:47 > 1:21:50great cross in and very hard to defend. The guy took it very well

1:21:50 > 1:21:53and there we are. A bad time to concede but 45 minutes to go.More

1:21:53 > 1:21:55generally, we were saying beforehand, this is a club with big

1:21:55 > 1:22:02ambitions for the future. You've got the shirt, there's 22 on the side,

1:22:02 > 1:22:08all part of the plan. You can tell our viewers, you have plans to be a

1:22:08 > 1:22:11Football League club as soon as possible?Everybody at this level

1:22:11 > 1:22:15wants to be in the Football League, don't they? We set out ten years ago

1:22:15 > 1:22:20now to get in the Football League. We put a 15 year plan together. We

1:22:20 > 1:22:24are ten years into it, so five years to get out of this division. As I

1:22:24 > 1:22:29said the other day, it took Forest Green 19 years to get out, so I hope

1:22:29 > 1:22:33it doesn't take is that long. But it's our first year, so we are

1:22:33 > 1:22:39enjoying it.What about from a Wigan perspective? Are you up for sale,

1:22:39 > 1:22:43accepting offers, in talks with someone?Yeah, every football club

1:22:43 > 1:22:50is up for sale. My family has a big affinity for the football club, my

1:22:50 > 1:22:53and father especially so early of its right will move away but at the

1:22:53 > 1:22:56moment we will see how it goes. We are doing well in the league. Our

1:22:56 > 1:23:00main aim is to get up and see where we go from there. It seems like

1:23:00 > 1:23:05yesterday since the FA Cup win in 2014, it seems incredible how it

1:23:05 > 1:23:08turned for Wigan, given we spoke about the season in the Premier

1:23:08 > 1:23:13League. Is there a plan to get back, the ground plan will be that, but

1:23:13 > 1:23:18how difficult is it to implement the plan?It will cost heavy money, you

1:23:18 > 1:23:22look at Wolves at the top of the Championship, they've invested

1:23:22 > 1:23:25heavily. Everybody would want being the Premier League. We've been

1:23:25 > 1:23:28there, we've tasted it, we'd like to get that back there but it's

1:23:28 > 1:23:34difficult these days.A game like this, David, match atmosphere, big

1:23:34 > 1:23:40crowd, does it give you a taste for playing at a higher level?Oh, yeah,

1:23:40 > 1:23:44this is why we do it every Saturday, four nights like this and days like

1:23:44 > 1:23:48this. We are enjoying it, our fans are enjoying it and it's great to

1:23:48 > 1:23:52have you guys here. I hope you come again soon. It's lovely to be here,

1:23:52 > 1:23:56if I could sort the referee out, everything would be perfect.I'm not

1:23:56 > 1:24:01one for having a go at the referee. It's a difficult job.I was talking

1:24:01 > 1:24:06about bringing the teams out!I know the crowd were getting on to it but

1:24:06 > 1:24:12I'm not anti-- ref. Dave is playing a bit of brinkmanship, a bit of

1:24:12 > 1:24:15gamesmanship, but maybe he will bring out in a minute otherwise

1:24:15 > 1:24:20we'll have to keep on talking. Talking to Danny Rowe before the

1:24:20 > 1:24:26game, he was saying everyone has a about what will take place on a game

1:24:26 > 1:24:30like this. He was thinking about a couple of goals and a win for Fylde.

1:24:30 > 1:24:34What was your dream last night?I'd take, obviously you want to win a

1:24:34 > 1:24:39game like this, it's a very hard game. Wigan are good sign. I thought

1:24:39 > 1:24:42daddy had a good chance earlier on, he didn't pull the trigger which he

1:24:42 > 1:24:49normally does -- I thought we had a good chance earlier on.Enjoy the

1:24:49 > 1:24:52second half. We were talking about the World Cup draw. Here's a

1:24:52 > 1:24:57reminder if you didn't say today. Gary Lineker was involved. Here's a

1:24:57 > 1:25:03reminder of England's group. The top seeds in Group G are Belgian, they

1:25:03 > 1:25:08haven't been in the Three Lions since 1936. England will get under

1:25:08 > 1:25:08way on the 18th

1:25:08 > 1:25:10since 1936. England will get under way on the 18th of June against

1:25:10 > 1:25:17Tunisia, 20 years after England's 2-0 win in the previous group

1:25:17 > 1:25:21meeting. They've faced debutants Panama as well. More reaction on the

1:25:21 > 1:25:24website and plenty more action here as well. We're just about ready for

1:25:24 > 1:25:28the second half. Here come the players out onto the pitch. Let's

1:25:28 > 1:25:35pick up with our commentary team, AFC Fylde and one goal down against

1:25:35 > 1:25:41Wigan its Mark Lawrenson once again and Simon Brotherton.

1:25:41 > 1:25:44COMMENTATOR: Into the box it goes, smacking the

1:25:44 > 1:25:47frame of the goal as it bounces through. There's a chance over the

1:25:47 > 1:25:53top of the crossbar from Lee Evans. But that one in, scores. The

1:25:53 > 1:25:55pressure finally tells.

1:25:58 > 1:26:03Will Grigg's goal separating the two sides. No changes by Wigan Athletic

1:26:03 > 1:26:07at the break, no surprise there. A little bit later, a couple of

1:26:07 > 1:26:11minutes after their visitors, the National League side out for the

1:26:11 > 1:26:14second half as well and looking around I don't think there are any

1:26:14 > 1:26:20changes being made by Challoner either. After winning the Cup in

1:26:20 > 1:26:232013, Wigan reached the semifinals year later but they've only managed

1:26:23 > 1:26:26one win in the competition in the last three years, against Nottingham

1:26:26 > 1:26:30Forest in the third round last season. They went to Old Trafford

1:26:30 > 1:26:33and were beaten by Manchester United. They got a good payday from

1:26:33 > 1:26:38that match and here they are a 45 minutes away from making it into the

1:26:38 > 1:26:43hat for the third round this season. Interesting what Dave Challinor said

1:26:43 > 1:26:47at half-time going off into the dressing room, to see whether they

1:26:47 > 1:26:51implement a slightly different plan in the second half, Fylde. If they

1:26:51 > 1:26:54concede another one shortly, Simon, they are in all sorts of bother.

1:26:54 > 1:26:59There's all sorts of space for Sam Morsy and Morsy with the passout,

1:26:59 > 1:27:04Gavin Massey now looks for an opening and takes a little

1:27:04 > 1:27:08deflection off Francis-Angol, which took the sting out of it.Yeah,

1:27:08 > 1:27:12again, our constant conversation in the first half, the amount of time

1:27:12 > 1:27:16and space that each Wigan player has on the ball will stop the first move

1:27:16 > 1:27:21in the second half was ever thus, wasn't it?Particularly the captain,

1:27:21 > 1:27:26number five, Morsy, was able to gain a lot of ground in midfield, time

1:27:26 > 1:27:30and time again. Large open spaces in front of him, here come Wigan once

1:27:30 > 1:27:34more, they're changed strip, all in black tonight collected by Massey.

1:27:34 > 1:27:43Turning inside Francis-Angol. Won back by Lewis Montrose. Collected by

1:27:43 > 1:27:50Sam Finley but again the ball into Sam Finley made him go backwards.

1:27:50 > 1:27:55Wigan win the ball. You will not win many in the air against Dan Burn.

1:27:55 > 1:27:57Unless he's having a bad day, no.

1:28:06 > 1:28:11Forward by Richards, high and hopeful. Walloped away by Reece

1:28:11 > 1:28:17James.If he is high and hopeful, that is what it is and you deal with

1:28:17 > 1:28:22it, but if you get players around it you have a little bit more of an

1:28:22 > 1:28:26opportunity, but they are almost isolated upfront. Fylde, certainly.

1:28:32 > 1:28:35There's been no chance for Danny Rowe to use his shooting boots so

1:28:35 > 1:28:45far in this game. Along old Chase and Josh Ezewele, as you can clearly

1:28:45 > 1:28:49see he's come a bit of a cropper, good to see he's up on his feet

1:28:49 > 1:28:53straightaway having ended up in the crowd. If that had been in the

1:28:53 > 1:28:57Premier League, it would have been three somersaults, a forward roll

1:28:57 > 1:29:00and out for three weeks, wouldn't it?

1:29:05 > 1:29:12He looks absolutely fine, which is a good job. Pushing forward once again

1:29:12 > 1:29:15here and they will have another corner.

1:29:21 > 1:29:30Could do with a ball boy, that would help, wouldn't it?They are mixing

1:29:30 > 1:29:35it up, they've been short with this corner. A little late off, rolled in

1:29:35 > 1:29:39by Finley, gets the second chance. The block is made by Morsy, unable

1:29:39 > 1:29:43to get it away. Jonny Smith with the little ball forward, collected here

1:29:43 > 1:29:48by Sam Finley once more. Looking to try to make a fast start of the

1:29:48 > 1:29:54second half.Little bit more pressure on them, Wigan. He's a

1:29:54 > 1:29:56firebrand as well, Finley.

1:30:01 > 1:30:09He's won another corner kick here.I wonder if they might change it up a

1:30:09 > 1:30:16little bit and go out longer from the corner.Jonny Smith is going to

1:30:16 > 1:30:23take this one. In it comes towards Danny Rowe, but Chey Dunkley was

1:30:23 > 1:30:29there, able to bring the ball away. Distribution not quite so clever.

1:30:29 > 1:30:34James will have to scamper back into defence now. Francis-Angol with the

1:30:34 > 1:30:45past. Forward. By Jordan Richards. Now it's with Bond.

1:30:55 > 1:30:59Looking a bit more purposeful in the opening exchanges of the second half

1:30:59 > 1:31:05because they did not look like scoring in the first. No, but

1:31:05 > 1:31:14starting to commit a few men further forward.

1:31:21 > 1:31:24Was looking for support from Montrose who had got forward, Dan

1:31:24 > 1:31:32Burn with the header away. Francis-Angol.

1:31:37 > 1:31:44In it comes from Finlay, collected by Ezewele, breaks loose and the

1:31:44 > 1:31:48little deflection off Montrose carries it into the gloves of Jamie

1:31:48 > 1:31:54Jones.Danny Rowe with the shot, thought really quickly, bit of a low

1:31:54 > 1:31:58one, trying to wrap his food around it and stick it on the goalkeeper,

1:31:58 > 1:32:03you can see what he's trying to do.

1:32:09 > 1:32:14Wigan Athletic of only conceded 12 goals in 19 matches in League 1 so

1:32:14 > 1:32:23far this season.I would like to know how many headers Dan Burn has

1:32:23 > 1:32:32made in all that, defensively.Won in the air by Jordan Richards. The

1:32:32 > 1:32:44flag has gone. Free kick for Fylde. The club shot has been busy!

1:32:50 > 1:32:57Not going to break their crowd records tonight, it stands at 3853.

1:32:57 > 1:33:02I know that was against! Charlie! Did you know that were you looking

1:33:02 > 1:33:18at my notes?Nope.Can you remember when it was?Boxing Day.Spot on.

1:33:18 > 1:33:23Can they create anything, do they have the Kraft and the guile to

1:33:23 > 1:33:28carve open an opportunity here against the leaders of League 1?

1:33:28 > 1:33:36Great pressure from Wigan.Montrose, Zaine Francis-Angol, almost give it

1:33:36 > 1:33:41away to Will Grigg, Tunnicliffe under pressure, little lay-off from

1:33:41 > 1:33:47Evans, collected by Jacobs who was finally muscled out of it.Extremely

1:33:47 > 1:33:51well, I think it was Richards. Architects of their own problems

1:33:51 > 1:33:57there. Gavin Massey.

1:34:04 > 1:34:09Still they get it in midfield and still lots of time to turn and go

1:34:09 > 1:34:13forward and go back, whatever. Always an extra man, always an

1:34:13 > 1:34:29option.A bit loose. Closed down by Finlay. Back with Sam Morsy once

1:34:29 > 1:34:35more, the Egypt International. Good ball out wide, rolled back in, Max

1:34:35 > 1:34:42Power.Should have hit it.Rather miscued that one. Affording Fylde

1:34:42 > 1:34:52the chance to break away. It's just the final pass again.Jacobs away to

1:34:52 > 1:35:01the far side of the pitch, back with Jacobs. Now Lee Evans. Here is

1:35:01 > 1:35:06Power. Made a bit of a hash of the shooting opportunity a moment or two

1:35:06 > 1:35:17ago. Nathan Byrne. Provided the excellent cross for the goal.No.

1:35:17 > 1:35:21Montrose the player penalised. Not happy with that, he just pinches it.

1:35:21 > 1:35:31Yeah.Montrose is unlucky.Very!

1:35:34 > 1:35:38Montrose made his senior debut a few years ago now for Wigan in a League

1:35:38 > 1:35:48Cup tie when he was 17 years of age. Plenty of experience, winning

1:35:48 > 1:35:54promotion to League 1 with Wycombe and jelling during his career.

1:35:54 > 1:35:58Almost ten minutes into the second half, his team with some defending

1:35:58 > 1:36:05to do. Max Power with the ball at his feet. Rolls it in and its boot

1:36:05 > 1:36:12goal word and palmed wide, good flying save by Jay Lynch to deny

1:36:12 > 1:36:16Michael Jacobs. It looked as though Jacobs first touch was a little

1:36:16 > 1:36:21heavy.There is an urgency about the play from both teams here in the

1:36:21 > 1:36:25second half. Wigan moving it around quickly. Putting the ball back into

1:36:25 > 1:36:29play sharply. Dan Burn with the cross into the middle and the header

1:36:29 > 1:36:35files easily. She and ugly on the end of it.

1:36:46 > 1:36:53The touch almost not quite out of his feet but did really well.

1:36:57 > 1:37:03Still just the one goal in this cup tie.

1:37:19 > 1:37:24Danny Rowe outmanoeuvred there. Every time he gets the ball he is

1:37:24 > 1:37:30surrounded by two or three. Will Grigg, the man who scored the goal

1:37:30 > 1:37:40which separates the teams. Jonny Smith unable to get a touch. Nathan

1:37:40 > 1:37:50Byrne here. Having a good season, spent time on loan at Charlton in

1:37:50 > 1:37:58the last campaign. It will be a corner here for Wigan. The time and

1:37:58 > 1:38:03space again that Power had.

1:38:06 > 1:38:11A couple of glimpses at goal for Danny Rowe so far but all of them

1:38:11 > 1:38:16from some distance. Opportunistic efforts.Would not really constitute

1:38:16 > 1:38:32a chance would be? More a half chance. The first time away, only as

1:38:32 > 1:38:37far as Nathan Byrne, might get caught out here, here is Danny Rowe.

1:38:37 > 1:38:43Played his team into a spot of bother. He was looking for Jordan

1:38:43 > 1:38:47Richards who had to recover quickly. Look to play down the line but saw

1:38:47 > 1:38:53no body they are so had to go backwards.

1:38:56 > 1:38:58Away by Francis-Angol.

1:39:04 > 1:39:13Sam Morsy. James had been waiting patiently over on the far side.

1:39:13 > 1:39:20Richards able to hold up this time. I think the pattern of the play has

1:39:20 > 1:39:26reverted back to the first half now. Reece James, a player who turned

1:39:26 > 1:39:30professional at Manchester United and made one senior appearance,

1:39:30 > 1:39:34against MK Dons in 2014, that early-season match under Louis van

1:39:34 > 1:39:43Gaal.Yeah.Reece James the brother of Matty James who plays for

1:39:43 > 1:39:46Leicester City.

1:39:57 > 1:40:04Long stride as he gains plenty of ground, Will Grigg waits in the

1:40:04 > 1:40:13middle, Power in there. Did that not hit, the referee has given it as a

1:40:13 > 1:40:17corner and they will take it as quickly as they can before he

1:40:17 > 1:40:28changes his mind.And they have.And he hasn't. Forward by James. Three

1:40:28 > 1:40:31Wigan players, four waiting inside the box, almost breaks for Will

1:40:31 > 1:40:38Grigg. It was Dunkley the ball bounced off.The move leading up to

1:40:38 > 1:40:43the cross was coming out, loads of space, committing an opposition

1:40:43 > 1:40:47player and freeing up the space for somebody.

1:40:57 > 1:41:01It's not been dull for Wigan fans in recent seasons, just looking at it

1:41:01 > 1:41:06before we came up here today, since they won the cup they have

1:41:06 > 1:41:13experienced three relegation on promotion. On the rise at the moment

1:41:13 > 1:41:18having gone down last summer. Relegation is not the end of the

1:41:18 > 1:41:22world sometimes. Look at Burnley a few years ago.Half an hour to go

1:41:22 > 1:41:27and still just the one goal in this. Not too many signs of a goal from

1:41:27 > 1:41:39AFC Fylde however. As yet, no.Sam Morsy. Lee Evans. Bit of space for

1:41:39 > 1:41:40Max Power.

1:41:44 > 1:41:49Nathan Byrne the right back has got well forward here on the near side

1:41:49 > 1:41:55and the same can be said again of Reece James over on the left. Both

1:41:55 > 1:42:00of them crying out for the ball, little lay-off for Michael Jacobs

1:42:00 > 1:42:03looking to see if you can tee it up, he brings Reece James into it,

1:42:03 > 1:42:12corner.Again, under no great pressure. Really good play by Wigan

1:42:12 > 1:42:21but very difficult for Fylde to come to terms with. I think the manager

1:42:21 > 1:42:29might be thinking about a substitution.A little bit of

1:42:29 > 1:42:38activity down on the bench. Keep an eye on this corner first. Back with

1:42:38 > 1:42:47James. Letting it run, Power with the ball in, powerful header away by

1:42:47 > 1:42:55Tunnicliffe. It's a long chase. A cross comes Nathan Byrne. Getting to

1:42:55 > 1:43:05the ball ahead of Andy Bond.Did well, Nathan Byrne. There is going

1:43:05 > 1:43:10to be a change here for Fylde, looks like Matthew Blinkhorn might be

1:43:10 > 1:43:22coming on. It is, coming on, Ezewele the player he is replacing.

1:43:22 > 1:43:27Blinkhorn who has made seven substitute appearances this season,

1:43:27 > 1:43:35experienced target man. He's been at the club for five seasons. Looking

1:43:35 > 1:43:38to add a little bit more to the front line.

1:43:42 > 1:43:46Getting involved straightaway, here is Danny Rowe.

1:43:50 > 1:43:55Francis-Angol with the ball in, collected by Montrose and now it's

1:43:55 > 1:44:00with Bond, Richards on the far side. What sort of delivery? Not a bad

1:44:00 > 1:44:09one. Dunkley getting it as far as in once again from Finlay and the

1:44:09 > 1:44:16header wide of the post, from the substitute, he's become onto the

1:44:16 > 1:44:21pitch, Blinkhorn.Lovely ball, all he is trying to do is headed back in

1:44:21 > 1:44:29towards the goal. The goalkeeper got a touch that did he not?Blinkhorn

1:44:29 > 1:44:33still looking for his first goal of the season.

1:44:40 > 1:44:43That is the first time we have seen that movie mint, pulling away the

1:44:43 > 1:44:45defender.

1:44:53 > 1:44:58The chances for who has

1:45:02 > 1:45:11at 14 minutes past nine finally a good chance for AFC Fylde.

1:45:20 > 1:45:28Here is Lewis Montrose. Trying to find Danny Rowe. Collected by Nathan

1:45:28 > 1:45:34Byrne. Safety first from Lee Evans. Back to his goalkeeper. Here now is

1:45:34 > 1:45:43Reece James. You can see with Blinkhorn, he has pushed on so it

1:45:43 > 1:45:47might just help bring the midfield forward as far as Fylde are

1:45:47 > 1:45:51concerned. From their point of view they would hope it would stop Wigan

1:45:51 > 1:45:56from coming out and playing. One or two things to point your way, FA Cup

1:45:56 > 1:46:11final score on Sunday at the weekend. All the goals as they go

1:46:11 > 1:46:20in. And the draw for the third round on Monday night live on BBC Two.

1:46:20 > 1:46:27Concentrating on the second round tie, still one goal in it, Jonny

1:46:27 > 1:46:32Smith taking it up for Fylde, trying to force his way through. Just a

1:46:32 > 1:46:42little bit unlucky.Just comes onto each year, just a bit heavy and he

1:46:42 > 1:46:50was completely shouldered out.The chase on here, Edmundson looks to

1:46:50 > 1:46:53have it covered against Will Grigg.

1:47:00 > 1:47:04Wigan have had a dozen attempts so far in the game, just the 2-macro

1:47:04 > 1:47:13filed. Only one goal between the teams. Morsy, collected by Nathan

1:47:13 > 1:47:19Byrne, whipping it in once more, Massey with the turn and shot, saved

1:47:19 > 1:47:36by Lynch and scrambled away. Wigan looking for a second. Massey. Morsy

1:47:36 > 1:47:44finding Power. Good ball from the Egyptian. Again trying to pick out

1:47:44 > 1:47:48Will Grigg like he did for the goal just before half-time. Montrose,

1:47:48 > 1:48:00into Jonny Smith. Rowe. Towards Blinkhorn, it was easy for Burn.

1:48:00 > 1:48:05This match has really opened up. Max Power with a chance to run at

1:48:05 > 1:48:13Francis-Angol, Massey, just a bit too high for Grigg.It was a good

1:48:13 > 1:48:19cross. Lots of pace on the ball. You could see as soon as Blinkhorn came

1:48:19 > 1:48:28on the game has just stretched completely. Good save. Good block. I

1:48:28 > 1:48:32think we will see more of them before this happens over.

1:48:38 > 1:48:42Morsy there to help burn-out.

1:48:56 > 1:48:59Just get away from him.

1:49:08 > 1:49:18Michael Jacobs now for Wigan. Morsy with time and position to consider

1:49:18 > 1:49:22his options, finds Max Power, Lynch took that one in the face and just

1:49:22 > 1:49:29didn't quite bounce for Will Grigg. The bounce was slightly awkward,

1:49:29 > 1:49:35just seemed to take his eye off it. Max Power will have another crack.

1:49:35 > 1:49:43More comfortable save this time, the ball just reared up.We are watching

1:49:43 > 1:49:47a completely different football game now I haven't we?

1:49:47 > 1:49:49weather-mac:

1:49:56 > 1:50:09It was a chance.Was it ever. Decent strike but comfortable save.Smith

1:50:09 > 1:50:13hustling and bustling, forcing his way through, Smith, could be a

1:50:13 > 1:50:24chance for Finlay, penalty! All day long, all day long! There is the

1:50:24 > 1:50:31root back into the match. Can they take it?Reacted really, really

1:50:31 > 1:50:43quickly. A bit of aggression. You cannot launch yourself into that.

1:50:43 > 1:50:51Danny Rowe is the man who will take it for Fylde. It is Rowe against

1:50:51 > 1:51:01Jones, 1-1! Cool, calm, in the corner, the goalkeeper no near it.

1:51:01 > 1:51:11AFC Fylde 1-1 Wigan Athletic.Well done to the manager, he has gambled

1:51:11 > 1:51:14and there have been a couple of chances to make it 2-0 and run away

1:51:14 > 1:51:20with the game for Wigan but as is football, you will get your

1:51:20 > 1:51:26opportunities and always felt he was going to score this, his body

1:51:26 > 1:51:32language was like, miss? You are joking! It was not on the agenda was

1:51:32 > 1:51:40it?It was not.Let's look at the challenge once again. He went diving

1:51:40 > 1:51:52in. Clear penalty.But I don't think he got booked.

1:51:59 > 1:52:07So... 1-1, with 20 minutes to go. Just a little test for Wigan, do

1:52:07 > 1:52:12they change, does it worry them? Or do they keep playing?I think it

1:52:12 > 1:52:17sets them up nicely, Wigan will not want an extra game here. They are in

1:52:17 > 1:52:20the middle of a promotion chase and will want to get this done. I think

1:52:20 > 1:52:28this will be a cracker, as Max Power fires one in. Well done their

1:52:28 > 1:52:32goalkeeper, almost felt he was going to spell it.Imagine what is going

1:52:32 > 1:52:38through his mind now.

1:52:40 > 1:52:46Two or three shots from the in the last few minutes for Max Power.

1:52:55 > 1:52:59Nathan Byrne forward, kept in play, Francis-Angol will beat him to the

1:52:59 > 1:53:01ball.

1:53:11 > 1:53:23Change here now for Wigan coming up. Any moment now. Gavin Massey going

1:53:23 > 1:53:27off.

1:53:30 > 1:53:38Nick Powell coming on. He has been outstanding this season. That is

1:53:38 > 1:53:41your insurance policy isn't it? We will see that a lot tomorrow with

1:53:41 > 1:53:49teams.The top scorer this season. Missed the last two matches with a

1:53:49 > 1:53:58hamstring problem. I noticed he was not in the team before the match and

1:53:58 > 1:54:03said the Paul Cook is he fit and he said yeah, he is fine. Centre more

1:54:03 > 1:54:15if we need to. Going to be a throw for AFC Fylde. It will be

1:54:15 > 1:54:21interesting to see where he plays. Just off Grigg I think.

1:54:25 > 1:54:34Probably feels his team should be in front doesn't he? Blinkhorn with a

1:54:34 > 1:54:41lay-off. Fylde's tails up here, this is a good spell now. Smith trying to

1:54:41 > 1:54:50take advantage.A little bit of pressure, Wigan.

1:55:04 > 1:55:17Have to say there is quite a buzz around Mill Farm now.

1:55:22 > 1:55:30Finlay dispossessed. Forward towards Nick Powell, the former Manchester

1:55:30 > 1:55:45United player. The referee says come on, get back a bit. Dunkley. Just

1:55:45 > 1:55:51over a quarter of an hour remaining in this one.

1:55:57 > 1:56:10James. Morsy. Good play here by Sam Morsy. Strong and purposeful. Max

1:56:10 > 1:56:17Power.

1:56:24 > 1:56:30Skipping away from Bond, it falls kindly for Montrose, up towards

1:56:30 > 1:56:41Blinkhorn. Certain way giving the defence of players something to

1:56:41 > 1:56:47think about. Put himself about. Absolutely, all effort, not giving a

1:56:47 > 1:56:53moments peace. The rest of the team thinking we can have a bit of a go

1:56:53 > 1:56:57for it right now and that is exactly what has happened. They could have

1:56:57 > 1:57:03been 2-0 down but they rode their luck.15 minutes to go.

1:57:07 > 1:57:18Nathan Byrne. Lee Evans. Jacob is up to the edge of the box, Grigg

1:57:18 > 1:57:26weights, Power heading up as well, Reece James in possession. Bit of

1:57:26 > 1:57:39space for Evans. Trying to get in behind Smith. Important

1:57:39 > 1:57:43interception.Very.

1:58:05 > 1:58:12Little flick falls for the goal-scorer, Rowe. Smith has gone

1:58:12 > 1:58:16scooting down this nearside but would need to be a greyhound to get

1:58:16 > 1:58:23to that. Putting Dunkley under some pressure. Going to get the

1:58:23 > 1:58:27decisions, the referee is like the game carry on. Says let's get on

1:58:27 > 1:58:32with it.

1:58:32 > 1:58:35Dan Burn.

1:58:38 > 1:58:46James. In towards Morsy. Power wants it on the Wigan right, he has

1:58:46 > 1:58:54support from Burn on the outside, the outside. Power with the

1:58:54 > 1:59:07delivery, hanging in the air, Powell goes for a corner.Bring the boys up

1:59:07 > 1:59:20from the back.Dunkley and Dan Burn both up into the penalty area.

1:59:20 > 1:59:24Power's delivery.

1:59:31 > 1:59:42Popping up on the right wing with the ball in. Dunkley going for it.

1:59:42 > 1:59:46Nothing wrong with the challenge but the referees could courage a word.

1:59:46 > 1:59:50Fylde still complaining that they think they should have the corner at

1:59:50 > 2:00:00the other end of the pitch.Yes but it is gone.It was clearly a penalty

2:00:00 > 2:00:02wasn't it?Crikey, it was two.

2:00:08 > 2:00:17Beautifully taken.Yeah. Keeper went early as well. Wouldn't have made

2:00:17 > 2:00:20any difference.

2:00:32 > 2:00:42Dunkley's clearance. Intercepted by Finley. He comes just behind Rowe

2:00:42 > 2:00:47and now could open up for Wigan here. You have a feeling with the

2:00:47 > 2:00:50play moving from one end of the pitch to the other, it's going to be

2:00:50 > 2:00:55a long burst of ten minutes for the players out there. Gets the free

2:00:55 > 2:01:00kick.He moves completely differently from anybody else on the

2:01:00 > 2:01:07pitch, doesn't he? You can just see he is a level above.

2:01:15 > 2:01:20Not sure why you'd have two men in a wall. What on earth are they

2:01:20 > 2:01:32possibly going to do together?! Are they that close? Jordan Richards on

2:01:32 > 2:01:39his own now. And it comes from Power... Right through everybody. It

2:01:39 > 2:01:43sounded like a bit of a scuffle when he made contact with the free kick

2:01:43 > 2:01:53as well. Not quite falling there for Dunkley in the box.

2:02:02 > 2:02:08Nick Powell, who scored seven goals this season for Wigan. The last ten

2:02:08 > 2:02:20minutes of this one. Decides that Jamie Jones is the best option. Max

2:02:20 > 2:02:26Power here. He has options. Lee Evans one of them. Dunkley another.

2:02:26 > 2:02:30Here is Evans.

2:02:37 > 2:02:42Morsy going off on another of those runs of his. Looking for Power but

2:02:42 > 2:02:52couldn't find him. That will be a free kick. Finley getting feisty

2:02:52 > 2:02:56with Morsy.Oh, yes!

2:03:03 > 2:03:10Trying to whip it passed Johnny Smith. Three inside the penalty

2:03:10 > 2:03:16area. One of them here is Michael Jacobs.

2:03:30 > 2:03:34There's a patience about Wigan in possession.There is, but there's

2:03:34 > 2:03:39just a better shape through Flyde. They are not as easy to get through

2:03:39 > 2:03:46any more.A hefty collision there between Jordan Richards and the

2:03:46 > 2:03:51advertising boarding. That will knock the wind from his sales for a

2:03:51 > 2:04:03moment or two! He was helped in that direction, yes!Just there... You

2:04:03 > 2:04:07wouldn't get a bet on that, would you?

2:04:10 > 2:04:14Well, we had a player disappearing over the boarding at one end of the

2:04:14 > 2:04:18pitch and another clattering into them at the other. Both players

2:04:18 > 2:04:22perfectly able to continue in the match without any delay to the game.

2:04:22 > 2:04:29He's made of strong stuff.Get on with it! Dave will be very happy

2:04:29 > 2:04:33with how his team have come back in the second half of this game. Making

2:04:33 > 2:04:40a change by the looks of things.

2:05:00 > 2:05:06Looks like Simon Grand is getting ready to come on for the final few

2:05:06 > 2:05:15minutes of the game. Nice little combo there.Nice, quick. He's the

2:05:15 > 2:05:19man who needs to make up for the penalty he gave away.Just about

2:05:19 > 2:05:27kept that one in. Although to be fed to him, it was his lovely cross for

2:05:27 > 2:05:34the goal for Wigan at the other end. -- to be fair to him.Doesn't make

2:05:34 > 2:05:45it right, though, does it?Powering through the middle with Grigg.They

2:05:45 > 2:05:55have made a chance for... Since Powell came on, certainly.Just

2:05:55 > 2:06:03chipping away there. Back with Power. Who's going to have to chase.

2:06:08 > 2:06:14Are we heading for a replay? Or do they have a big final five minutes

2:06:14 > 2:06:21in them here? The ball is collected by Finley, who sends it high and

2:06:21 > 2:06:28long towards Rowe, but met by the head of Byrne. A good awareness of

2:06:28 > 2:06:35who was where in his vicinity as well. Over to that far side. We're

2:06:35 > 2:06:41inside the final five minutes here. That was a poor ball forwards by

2:06:41 > 2:06:46Powell. Conceding possession. Forward by Danny Rowe. A long chase

2:06:46 > 2:06:53the Blinkhorn. It's hard as well, when you come on like a sub like

2:06:53 > 2:07:01that. You never get a second breath.

2:07:06 > 2:07:12Lee Evans.

2:07:21 > 2:07:29Good play by Jacobs. He's done really well here. It was Nathan

2:07:29 > 2:07:34Byrne who sends it way over into the car park!If you know your

2:07:34 > 2:07:41geography, that is in the Lancaster Canal!I take it from that the

2:07:41 > 2:07:51Lancaster Canal is not actually that close to us?Correct. So, time

2:07:51 > 2:07:57ticking away here. From Wigan's point of view, to get this done and

2:07:57 > 2:08:02avoid a replay.Yeah.As it stands, both teams will go into the hat for

2:08:02 > 2:08:09the draw on Monday night on BBC Two. They would rue the chance of being

2:08:09 > 2:08:171-0 up. You know, since the substitute came on, they've actually

2:08:17 > 2:08:23done really well. Here is the substitute, Matt Blinkhorn. Up

2:08:23 > 2:08:28against Rhys James. The white shirts coming forward hoping for a late

2:08:28 > 2:08:32twist but Dan Burn is the player waiting and he's gone racing ahead

2:08:32 > 2:08:37of Morsy. Here he is! He has support of Nik Powell to his right and they

2:08:37 > 2:08:44pass just a bit too quickly in front. This gives Flyde chance to

2:08:44 > 2:08:49reorganise themselves and get back behind the ball.A poor pass, wasn't

2:08:49 > 2:08:52it? So controlled as well.

2:08:56 > 2:09:00Away off the boot of George Edmundson. Free kick for the home

2:09:00 > 2:09:11side.A foul on Finley. He just waited and waited. It was just a

2:09:11 > 2:09:15really poor touch. I was going to say it was the centre-back's touch

2:09:15 > 2:09:25but...Yeah, here comes the latest substitute, Ivan Toney, for Wigan.

2:09:25 > 2:09:38He's going to replace the goal-scorer, Grigg. Simon Grand is

2:09:38 > 2:09:42coming on as well for the home team, and he's on to replace Jordan

2:09:42 > 2:09:45Richards.

2:09:50 > 2:09:56So, there comes Simon Grand on for Richards.

2:10:04 > 2:10:09But Toney is an interesting character, actually, the number ten

2:10:09 > 2:10:13for Wigan Athletic. He is on loan from Newcastle this season. Very

2:10:13 > 2:10:23highly rated by Peter Beardsley. Simon Grand on, then, for the home

2:10:23 > 2:10:29team. He previously got to the fifth round with Rochdale a few years ago.

2:10:29 > 2:10:33The flag on the near side of the field with one minutes ago of the

2:10:33 > 2:10:4490.He obviously just plays straight through the middle. Looks quick.

2:10:44 > 2:10:47Yeah. There's Toney. Peter Beardsley describing his ability as

2:10:47 > 2:10:56outstanding, and he should know.I would have thought so! Pedro!

2:10:56 > 2:11:03There's going to be another change here. And Jacobs is the player who

2:11:03 > 2:11:12has gone off and Gary Roberts is on for Wigan here. Gary Roberts, a

2:11:12 > 2:11:17midfielder who followed from Forbes -- from Portsmouth over the summer.

2:11:17 > 2:11:22They are obviously trying to win, aren't they?

2:11:30 > 2:11:36So, a couple of very late changes made by Paul Cook. Three minutes of

2:11:36 > 2:11:41added time, just going into those three minutes now. Surely now,

2:11:41 > 2:11:48surely now! Just lump it in there! What they need is a... Free kick. I

2:11:48 > 2:11:57was going to say. Needs to be a good delivery but Johnny Smith can't get

2:11:57 > 2:12:03it passed Max Power on this nearside. Finley sent it in. That's

2:12:03 > 2:12:06better! But doesn't fall for Danny Rowe another chance for Wigan to

2:12:06 > 2:12:17break with Sam Morsy. And he is flawed to the ground. The easiest

2:12:17 > 2:12:23decision the referee could have to make.Yes, just took him out,

2:12:23 > 2:12:32basically. There you go, you're having it. What a waste of a free

2:12:32 > 2:12:39kick, that. Didn't do anything with it at all. They gave it to Wigan.

2:12:39 > 2:12:41Morsy, collected by Power.

2:12:45 > 2:12:51They just lost the shape little bit, Wigan.Since Power came on. The

2:12:51 > 2:13:02shape has all gone to pot. -- since Powell came on.Can they carve open

2:13:02 > 2:13:10another goal-scoring opportunity here so late in the game? Will Flyde

2:13:10 > 2:13:14make it into the third round? They are not there yet. Deep into the

2:13:14 > 2:13:20second minute of added time. Here it comes, a little backflip header. And

2:13:20 > 2:13:28away by Montrose. Flyde preparing to make another very late change. Wigan

2:13:28 > 2:13:36on the front foot. In by Powell! Skidding across the penalty area and

2:13:36 > 2:13:43behind, and it's a corner!Obviously got a touch off somebody.Incomes

2:13:43 > 2:13:57that late, late change. -- in comes that late to change.

2:13:59 > 2:14:08Jason Taylor. Now waiting to come on. Finley will be the player making

2:14:08 > 2:14:13way. Sam Finley. Taylor will do well to get a touch of the ball before

2:14:13 > 2:14:22the final whistle! It might be a touch in his own box. He looks like

2:14:22 > 2:14:30you should be a centre-back, Sam. -- like he should be.They've just got

2:14:30 > 2:14:35to hang on here. We've had three minutes of added time. So this is

2:14:35 > 2:14:41probably the last opportunity of the match here.Yeah ComRes gone to pick

2:14:41 > 2:14:52up Byrne straightaway. Power with the delivery... -- yeah, he has

2:14:52 > 2:15:00gone.Can't quite get to it. He makes sure Wigan still has the ball.

2:15:00 > 2:15:04Needs to get it in quickly! He's going for gold! There was no way

2:15:04 > 2:15:08that was going to come down underneath the crossbar.A little

2:15:08 > 2:15:14bit of a waste, in all honesty. Wigan's quality.Well, they

2:15:14 > 2:15:21certainly have the chances to make sure they've won this tie tonight.

2:15:21 > 2:15:25Yeah, that's what he will be saying tonight, won't he? Taking nothing

2:15:25 > 2:15:29away from Flyde. Well done to the manager, by the way, for the changes

2:15:29 > 2:15:36he's made. There goes the final whistle, and non-league Flyde are in

2:15:36 > 2:15:39the hat for the third round of the FA Cup along with Wigan Athletic

2:15:39 > 2:15:44after coming back in the second half. The substitution that help to

2:15:44 > 2:15:48change the flow of the game, Danny Rowe would-be penalty kick 20

2:15:48 > 2:15:54minutes from time, securing them a replay. We'll Grigg, having put the

2:15:54 > 2:16:01League 1 leaders Wigan Athletic ahead shortly before half-time, get

2:16:01 > 2:16:10them honours at Mill Farm? The final score, one micro-1.

2:16:10 > 2:16:12-- the final score, 1-1.

2:16:16 > 2:16:20We are down at the side of the pitch. We were talking at half-time

2:16:20 > 2:16:24about what Flyde needed to do in that second half. They dug in,

2:16:24 > 2:16:28playing against a really good Wigan side, who played some nice football,

2:16:28 > 2:16:32but they are in the hat for round three. You asked the question

2:16:32 > 2:16:36whether Flyde would be happy and the answer is yes. Wigan could have got

2:16:36 > 2:16:39the second goal, clearly had a future answers, but they stayed in

2:16:39 > 2:16:43the game, and by doing that they had the chance, because Wigan were

2:16:43 > 2:16:46dominating the game in spells throughout but that penalty got the

2:16:46 > 2:16:54reward for it.Yes, they had possession. You've got to put your

2:16:54 > 2:17:00chances away and they did have their chances. Unfortunately for Flyde...

2:17:00 > 2:17:06They are in the hat!Danny Rowe is desperate for an away draw at Old

2:17:06 > 2:17:09Trafford were obviously they have to get through Wigan at Wigan to make

2:17:09 > 2:17:13it through to that third round. But Dave will be really happy with the

2:17:13 > 2:17:18way they've performed.Delighted. They dug in. They did dominate,

2:17:18 > 2:17:24Wigan, yes. They had possession. It is what they do with that

2:17:24 > 2:17:29possession. They didn't create an awful lot of chances. They sat in,

2:17:29 > 2:17:32they were organised, disciplined, and they took the chance when they

2:17:32 > 2:17:38got it and you can't ask any more than that, really. We will speak to

2:17:38 > 2:17:42the managers and Danny Rowe in a minute.

2:17:45 > 2:17:51A game that you could have, should have killed off?Definitely. The

2:17:51 > 2:17:54goal in the first half came at a good time and then we should have

2:17:54 > 2:17:58dominated the game but fair play to Flyde, they came out in the second

2:17:58 > 2:18:02half and gave us a tough five minutes. We never got going after

2:18:02 > 2:18:05that and it is disappointing but full credit to them, they played

2:18:05 > 2:18:10really well. You had that one in the second half that you weren't on top

2:18:10 > 2:18:16of comic you couldn't quite get it down.Yeah, the ball came back to me

2:18:16 > 2:18:22a bit quick. Obviously disappointing. Then two minutes

2:18:22 > 2:18:26later, they scored. Difficult to take but with full credit to them.

2:18:26 > 2:18:30Bearing in mind what this club went through the last few seasons and the

2:18:30 > 2:18:34last season in particular, when you are in your pond, you are one heck

2:18:34 > 2:18:39of a team.Yeah, we are a very good side at the moment and that's why

2:18:39 > 2:18:42it's that extra bit disappointing. We feel if we turned up tonight and

2:18:42 > 2:18:46played how we wanted to play we should have had three or four, but

2:18:46 > 2:18:51we are a good side and we will bounce back. It's just one of those.

2:18:51 > 2:18:54It's the FA Cup!You really want for this because you've got great

2:18:54 > 2:19:00momentum at the moment.Yes, we came into the game wanting to win. We

2:19:00 > 2:19:05didn't want the replay. Like I said, it's the FA Cup, it was their final

2:19:05 > 2:19:08and they've done really well on the night. We would just a bit sloppy

2:19:08 > 2:19:13here and there and with a bit more quality and patience we should have

2:19:13 > 2:19:17got it.So I guess you take confidence and go again in the

2:19:17 > 2:19:24replay?Yeah, we will look at it and see the positives and negatives and

2:19:24 > 2:19:28what you said, we are in the hat.I will let you go. It's been a cold

2:19:28 > 2:19:29night.

2:19:34 > 2:19:37Dave, your site was smouldering and then they came back in that golden

2:19:37 > 2:19:43second half. What is your assessment overall?First half was difficult.

2:19:43 > 2:19:45We knew they would have possession and they've got really good

2:19:45 > 2:19:51movement, move the ball, the two centre forwards really make their

2:19:51 > 2:19:56play, and I suppose that half-time we just had to make it a cup tie and

2:19:56 > 2:20:02get further on the pitch. It goes a bit against what we wanted to do,

2:20:02 > 2:20:06maybe, but play forward, win some second balls and go from there. Like

2:20:06 > 2:20:11you say, it made it more of a game and put them under pressure and ask

2:20:11 > 2:20:20them questions. Thankfully we got a goal, which is lovely. And the goal

2:20:20 > 2:20:26scored by the man alongside you, Danny Rowe. In commentary they said

2:20:26 > 2:20:30it was actually two penalties. Talk us through this from where you were.

2:20:34 > 2:20:44He wasn't watching! I asked him afterwards about the contact. If it

2:20:44 > 2:20:49was in contact with intent it would have been a penalty anyway. They

2:20:49 > 2:20:52were saying how cool you were from the penalty spot. What were you

2:20:52 > 2:21:02thinking about?I normally go to the keeper's right and I went in early.

2:21:02 > 2:21:08Was happy it just went in.What made you change your mind today?I just

2:21:08 > 2:21:13saw him go quite early so I thought I would put it away. You could see

2:21:13 > 2:21:17from your body shape you are going to go to the right and then you just

2:21:17 > 2:21:24opened up a bit.Yeah, normally I go the other way and the right foot is

2:21:24 > 2:21:26normally the most controlled position.Danny, you were saying

2:21:26 > 2:21:30before the game you were dreaming of Manchester United at Old Trafford

2:21:30 > 2:21:38for round three. Is the dream still alive? In the first half, a lot of

2:21:38 > 2:21:41balls that half-time, have to press up and get closer to them, and in

2:21:41 > 2:21:50the second half we did.Let's bring in a former team-mate of Dave's. We

2:21:50 > 2:21:54haven't got enough microphones so I will do this. Really happy with the

2:21:54 > 2:21:59second-half performance and Grigg saying he felt your team should have

2:21:59 > 2:22:05won the game and finished it off.I think it is Flyde's night. We can go

2:22:05 > 2:22:08on about disappointments but the whole night has been a credit to

2:22:08 > 2:22:12that football club and they deserve all the plaudits. This is a manager

2:22:12 > 2:22:18who has been shouting for 90 minutes!I haven't!Shall we have a

2:22:18 > 2:22:23look through some of the chances you had? Is nice to get a manager's

2:22:23 > 2:22:28perspective just after the game. Listen, Flyde did work so hard all

2:22:28 > 2:22:32night, they were always still in the game. The best way to disappoint

2:22:32 > 2:22:36teams is to score again. That could have given us a big edge but

2:22:36 > 2:22:41unfortunately we never got it. Flyde worked tirelessly and is there night

2:22:41 > 2:22:45and they should enjoy it. A great night for them. Third round of the

2:22:45 > 2:22:49FA Cup and it will be a tough test back at our place. They did have

2:22:49 > 2:22:56their chances, didn't they?Yeah, they were so good on the ball,

2:22:56 > 2:22:59Wigan, but just couldn't get that breakthrough, as you said, to kill

2:22:59 > 2:23:05it off. That's what you're looking but, really.We weren't good enough

2:23:05 > 2:23:09to get it on the night and I think, as I say, Flyde deserve all the

2:23:09 > 2:23:14credit in the world. The third round of the FA Cup with all the chance.

2:23:14 > 2:23:18Can ask you what they've said to you at half-time, and how easy was it to

2:23:18 > 2:23:23implement that in the second half, giving you are playing some nice

2:23:23 > 2:23:25football this evening? He said we needed to get up the pitch because

2:23:25 > 2:23:30even when I was winning the ball in the first half, we had to get up

2:23:30 > 2:23:35because we weren't getting on. But playing against a good side,

2:23:35 > 2:23:38obviously. It was still tough when we came out and didn't have many

2:23:38 > 2:23:48chances. We got a draw in the end. You must be so happy for a team... I

2:23:48 > 2:23:51know you have big ambitions, we heard from your chairman, but you

2:23:51 > 2:23:54are a National League side playing the best ranked side you can either

2:23:54 > 2:24:02stage of the competition and you are still the hat.Not just the best

2:24:02 > 2:24:06ranked side, the best side. Our game was off last Tuesday, we went to

2:24:06 > 2:24:09watch them there and they were flying high. They are really good at

2:24:09 > 2:24:14what they do. First half, we tried to match up against them a bit but

2:24:14 > 2:24:17their movement and how they get about and get the ball is really

2:24:17 > 2:24:23good. Like you say, we rolled our luck and a half-time, I said it

2:24:23 > 2:24:28before, we just had to stay in the game. I suppose to make the chances

2:24:28 > 2:24:32that go in all of a sudden, you think, is it going to be one of

2:24:32 > 2:24:36those nights? The goal came at a good time for all of us on some

2:24:36 > 2:24:41really tired legs. Gave us that bit of something to hang onto in the

2:24:41 > 2:24:47final 20 minutes, and thankfully we did. It was all was going to be a

2:24:47 > 2:24:51case of needing a bit of luck to get anything in this game and we got

2:24:51 > 2:24:55that tonight.Lovely to talk to you all. Thank you so much. Good night.

2:24:55 > 2:25:00Great to talk to you, Danny. So these guys will be in the hat...

2:25:00 > 2:25:05You can give your microphone to anybody, just hand it on. Danny, it

2:25:05 > 2:25:10is realised to see them talking so graciously there. And Paul Cook

2:25:10 > 2:25:14saying they played really well and the guys are getting a nice round of

2:25:14 > 2:25:19applause and fans staying around till the end of the world.Yeah, he

2:25:19 > 2:25:24has come in and paid them respect and they've paid it back, so it's

2:25:24 > 2:25:27nice to see the humility, and the way they come in, not playing a

2:25:27 > 2:25:32weaker side, and showing total respect. Hats off to them.I think

2:25:32 > 2:25:35that's down to his experience as well. He's played at this level so

2:25:35 > 2:25:39he knows what it's like when you are coming up against better sides, so

2:25:39 > 2:25:43he's properly gone to his players beforehand, look, get your attitude

2:25:43 > 2:25:48right. And they did, in fairness. They probably should have won the

2:25:48 > 2:25:52game but is about Flyde getting the result they did tonight.Let's just

2:25:52 > 2:25:56see that great goal in the first half. Because at that stage, you

2:25:56 > 2:26:01would think against a non-league side, good at the back, great going

2:26:01 > 2:26:06forward, great side, they are pretty safe at the moment. Is certainly

2:26:06 > 2:26:09felt that way. They did dominate possession. Didn't create a lot with

2:26:09 > 2:26:18what they had. Nathan Byrne pulled a lovely ball. Gets across his man

2:26:18 > 2:26:22into the penalty area. When you get a ball like that with the quality on

2:26:22 > 2:26:26it it's just begging somebody to get in the right position and Grigg did

2:26:26 > 2:26:29that. We did feel from that moment it could have been Wigan's night and

2:26:29 > 2:26:35they could have gone on to dominate the game and got 23, but credit to

2:26:35 > 2:26:41Flyde, they just showed character and got the result they've got. --

2:26:41 > 2:26:46and got two or three. They got it right in that second half with the

2:26:46 > 2:26:51attitude and mentality that was required. They did. Staying in the

2:26:51 > 2:27:00game was the key to it. Playing ten, 15 yards further forward was the key

2:27:00 > 2:27:04to them creating a fume chances and showing what they are about. Luckily

2:27:04 > 2:27:10they got the penalty. -- some chances. They were driving into the

2:27:10 > 2:27:16box and showing an aggressive attitude and trying to score a goal.

2:27:16 > 2:27:21They couldn't sit in like they did in that first half. Danny Rowe spoke

2:27:21 > 2:27:26about it as well. They had to get it in and passed forward to get in the

2:27:26 > 2:27:31game and they did that. Both sides are in the hat for the draw on

2:27:31 > 2:27:35Monday and that will take place on Monday night. You can see it after a

2:27:35 > 2:27:45full weekend of FA Cup wrap -- FA Cup action. Mark Chapman will have

2:27:45 > 2:27:49news of Manchester City against West Ham and Bournemouth against

2:27:49 > 2:27:52Southampton on Sunday, and England are a game away from calling

2:27:52 > 2:27:56themselves World Cup champions in Australia.

2:28:07 > 2:28:11I want that win, I want that trophy...

2:28:11 > 2:28:14COMMENTATOR: England have got it and going to Brisbane for the World Cup

2:28:14 > 2:28:19final! There you go. Get yourself up nice

2:28:19 > 2:28:24and early for that. We are at Fleetwood for Football Focus

2:28:24 > 2:28:31tomorrow. Thank you. Thank you for watching. Good night.

2:28:39 > 2:28:43COMMENTATOR: It's just past the far post! As it bounces through there's

2:28:43 > 2:28:49a chance over the top of the crossbar! Into Grigg... Who scores!

2:28:49 > 2:28:56The pressure finally tells! Forcing his way through, Johnny

2:28:56 > 2:29:05Smith! Good save! Penalty! It's Rowe... 1-1!
