:00:36. > :00:40.Good evening. Good to have you with us as we reflect on the penultimate

:00:41. > :00:44.weekend in the Skybet Football League - which once again promises a

:00:45. > :00:46.thrilling finish across all three divisions.

:00:47. > :00:50.And since we were last with you, congratulations to Leicester City,

:00:51. > :00:54.who capped their promotion by claiming The Championship title with

:00:55. > :00:58.a win at Bolton on Tuesday night. And that meant 11 more issues could

:00:59. > :01:06.be decided as a result of the latest round of games. Steve's with me to

:01:07. > :01:09.see how many of them actually materialised. And here's what's

:01:10. > :01:12.coming up. Our featured match comes from the DW Stadium, with two of

:01:13. > :01:15.Lancashire's finest going in opposite directions. Wigan looking

:01:16. > :01:20.to seal their place in the play-offs at the expense of a Blackpool side

:01:21. > :01:23.staring at relegation. We've the best of the action from Saturday's

:01:24. > :01:27.early kick-off as newly promoted Burnley welcomed Ipswich with the

:01:28. > :01:30.Tractor Boys needing a win to keep their play-off hopes alive. After

:01:31. > :01:33.dropping out of the top six, Brighton were looking to regain

:01:34. > :01:45.their play-off place on Friday night at home to bottom club Yeovil. Here

:01:46. > :01:51.is hoping to escape from the Challenger, and he is trying to stay

:01:52. > :01:54.in it. And I'm at Loftus Road to catch up with all the latest at QPR

:01:55. > :01:57.as Millwall, fighting for Championship survival, arrive for a

:01:58. > :02:00.critical London derby. All that to come, but first to a Lancashire

:02:01. > :02:03.derby involving two sides desperate for win for very different reasons.

:02:04. > :02:07.Wigan, needed victory to seal their place in the play-offs and keep

:02:08. > :02:10.alive their dream of an instant return to the Premier League, while

:02:11. > :02:14.for Blackpool, two wins in 28 saw them drop into the relegation zone

:02:15. > :02:17.last week for the first time this season.

:02:18. > :02:26.Commentary from John Roder. Three points from the last three games

:02:27. > :02:32.will get Wigan into the play-offs, whilst Blackpool are looking to

:02:33. > :02:37.cement their Championship status. Uwe Rosler names the same side that

:02:38. > :02:46.started the victory over Reading on Good Friday. Blackpool, without a

:02:47. > :02:50.win in the last seven recorded the last away victory in early November.

:02:51. > :02:55.It is the same team that started Monday's draw at Brighton where

:02:56. > :02:56.Stephen Dobbie hit a spectacular strike to earn a point for the

:02:57. > :03:11.Seasiders. Blackpool, managing to regain

:03:12. > :03:24.possession. That could have been a dangerous slip. Gomez. Maloney. That

:03:25. > :03:31.is a penalty. The foul on Sean Maloney by Tony McMahon. And Wigan

:03:32. > :03:40.Athletic out the first opportunity of note, to move in front. Andy

:03:41. > :03:43.D'Urso, Right up with play, judging that this challenge by Tony Ming

:03:44. > :03:52.ma'am is worthy of a spot kick. -- Tony McMahon. The Blackpool fans

:03:53. > :03:57.behind the goal hoping it will be saved and it is, the spot kick from

:03:58. > :04:02.Martyn Waghorn saved by Matt Gilks. That could be a huge moment in

:04:03. > :04:09.Blackpool's battle for Championship survival. Matt Gilks, punching it

:04:10. > :04:19.away, and behind the goal, the Blackpool supporters celebrating

:04:20. > :04:31.like Matt. -- like mad. Stephen Dobbie. MacArthur. McManaman. Callum

:04:32. > :04:40.McManaman driving across goal. And it was not too far away, either.

:04:41. > :04:45.Callum McManaman with a very dangerous cross, indeed.

:04:46. > :04:56.Just away by Tony McMahon. Espinosa driving it across, and Martyn

:04:57. > :05:04.Waghorn was so close to getting a touch but couldn't. It has not been

:05:05. > :05:15.a good afternoon for Martyn Waghorn, so far. Espinosa, driving it across

:05:16. > :05:16.the penalty area. It has not been a spectacular first half performance

:05:17. > :05:34.from either side. Emerson Boyce, and look at the room

:05:35. > :05:37.on that far side for Shaun Maloney. Chris Basham, holding the progress

:05:38. > :05:55.of Maloney. -- halting. Right across goal, and Nick Powell

:05:56. > :06:01.with a final touch, putting it wide. Driven in low and hard. Nick

:06:02. > :06:07.Powell, little off-balance, slicing it wide.

:06:08. > :06:17.Espinosa on the charge. Taken by Matt Gilks. Blackpool, with just

:06:18. > :06:32.three victories in their last 30, in the league, and 20 degrees, with

:06:33. > :06:43.Wigan, having won 14 of the last 29. -- 20 defeats. It is in, Andy Keogh

:06:44. > :06:46.with a breakthrough for Blackpool. And the stand behind that goal is

:06:47. > :06:52.full of jubilant Blackpool supporters. The

:06:53. > :06:57.relegation-threatened side go in front. Andy Keogh getting his third

:06:58. > :07:01.goal for the Seasiders, since joining on loan from Millwall, and

:07:02. > :07:07.goal for the Seasiders, since it could be his most important yet.

:07:08. > :07:13.Isaiah Osbourne with the ball in, Andy Keogh glancing his header past

:07:14. > :07:14.Ali Al-Habsi. It is an enormous boost for Blackpool's hopes of

:07:15. > :07:28.staying in this division. Andy Keogh. Getting in behind, can

:07:29. > :07:37.you pull it act, Stephen Dobbie, 2-0! -- can he pull it back? The

:07:38. > :07:46.Blackpool fans cannot quite believe what they are seen. -- seeing.

:07:47. > :07:56.Andy Keogh, just able to keep the ball in play, perfect ball back, and

:07:57. > :08:01.Stephen Dobbie was not going to miss from there. Blackpool's survival

:08:02. > :08:09.hopes have been given another huge boost.

:08:10. > :08:22.Nick Powell, getting away from Stephen Dobbie. Jean Beausejour.

:08:23. > :08:26.Maloney, Matt Gilks came for it. Desperate Blackpool defending,

:08:27. > :08:32.picked up by Callum McManaman. Gomez, going for gold, then it is to

:08:33. > :08:41.have an over, Nick Powell with the effort. -- going for goal. Lining

:08:42. > :08:49.up, in Wigan colours, to have a pop at goal. Wigan, in truth, looking

:08:50. > :08:54.like a beaten team, and that is an opinion shared by quite a few here,

:08:55. > :09:01.who are already on their way home. An explosion of joy and noise and

:09:02. > :09:06.relief from the black holes supporters as Barry Ferguson guides

:09:07. > :09:08.them to victory at the DW Stadium. It is a massive boost to their

:09:09. > :09:10.chances of staying in The Championship. Massive victory for

:09:11. > :09:28.Blackpool. Huge blow for Wigan. It has been a crazy, disappointing

:09:29. > :09:31.season. Just being drained of confidence and everything that

:09:32. > :09:34.surrounds the club, but we have stuck together, and that is the main

:09:35. > :09:47.thing for me. We are reaping the benefits of that, with a good second

:09:48. > :09:51.half performance. Black Poole are very good against the ball, very

:09:52. > :09:59.compact and it was hard for us to come back. We have to focus on the

:10:00. > :10:08.positive. We go now to Birmingham with another final. Wigan stuttering

:10:09. > :10:15.up the moment, but the Blackpool, much more to be infused about. The

:10:16. > :10:22.last time we focused on them was the incident on the touchline. But this

:10:23. > :10:28.was a lot more for the fans to yes, it was a masterstroke. Almost an

:10:29. > :10:34.exact replica of what we have before. A splintered club, almost

:10:35. > :10:42.brought the club to gather. They grew into the game. You thought, do

:10:43. > :10:47.did they believed they could win? Second half, they started to believe

:10:48. > :10:53.what they were doing. Scored. And from then to the end of the game,

:10:54. > :10:57.they were the better side. The turning point was on 20 minute when

:10:58. > :11:04.Wigan were worded the penalty, what did you think of that? What happens

:11:05. > :11:11.is, Maloney gets his feet in a tangle. He is going down, gets a

:11:12. > :11:20.touch, but also falls over the ball as well. Wonderful save. This could

:11:21. > :11:24.be the saved back keeps them in the division. It probably will. They had

:11:25. > :11:30.to weather the storm in the first half will stop in the second half,

:11:31. > :11:40.Andy Keogh, you liked the way he finished this? No surprise. He gets

:11:41. > :11:44.up so well. The ball back to Osborne is fantastic. He gets in between the

:11:45. > :11:53.sect -- to centre halves. He gets up really well. A good finish. As the

:11:54. > :12:00.ball is played forward, Neil Barnett maybe could do a bit more. He thinks

:12:01. > :12:04.it is going out. He needed to make more of an effort to get onto it and

:12:05. > :12:16.stop the ball coming into the box 's. They were too good goals.

:12:17. > :12:23.Stephen Dobbie scores key goals at this stage of the season? 58 games

:12:24. > :12:30.for Wigan, two wins in the last eight, are they running out of

:12:31. > :12:38.steam? I am not so sure, they gave Reading a humbling a couple of weeks

:12:39. > :12:43.ago. It is a time in the season, I don't know if they have taken their

:12:44. > :12:47.foot off the gas a little bit, they have been in the play-offs. They

:12:48. > :12:54.have a little bit of work to do now. And what a time the Blackpool to

:12:55. > :13:00.score more than one goal in six months. Ipswich travel to Burnley

:13:01. > :13:06.hoping to dampen their promotion party. Sean Dyche kept faith with

:13:07. > :13:29.the team that clinched victory last weekend.

:13:30. > :13:52.Tommy Smith has scored five league goals this season. Comes inside and

:13:53. > :13:59.shoots into the side netting. His reaction suggests he knows how good

:14:00. > :14:17.a chance that was, Danny Ings. What a job Sean Dyche has done. Ashley

:14:18. > :14:26.Barnes. Danny Ings. A real chance. Three goals in three games. It is a

:14:27. > :14:41.hammer blow to the Ipswich hopes of making the play-offs. The man signed

:14:42. > :14:50.from Wolves seven years ago has dealt his manager a massive low.

:14:51. > :14:58.Ashley Barnes springs. Kightly could not refuse the opening. His

:14:59. > :15:03.excellent end of season form continues as he deals Mick

:15:04. > :15:18.McCarthy's men a rotten hand in the play-off race. It is a long journey.

:15:19. > :15:20.It is a big club, and one that has been away from the top flight now

:15:21. > :15:57.for 12 years. A long time. lovely ball in. Ross Wallace gets

:15:58. > :16:09.between the markers. The track boys need to goals from somewhere. Green

:16:10. > :16:24.has been chopped down into the box. Taylor! Heated's fingertips keep it

:16:25. > :16:32.out. Tom Heaton's fingertips keep it out. Mick McCarthy has done a

:16:33. > :16:41.terrific job in his year and a half in charge of Ipswich. Maybe the

:16:42. > :16:53.play-offs are a bridge too far. That sat up nicely for him. It is a good

:16:54. > :17:07.effort. He has never been prolific. The whistle goes. Burnley's last

:17:08. > :17:11.home game. Mick McCarthy and his team are headed for a 13th

:17:12. > :17:15.successive year at this level. Burnley have one more game before

:17:16. > :17:23.they kick off in the Premier League next season. There will be ships in

:17:24. > :17:30.the market, shifts in our own group. It is a natural next step moving

:17:31. > :17:35.into a different division. We will need to affect the group because we

:17:36. > :17:41.work with a minimal number. We can't work with this number in the

:17:42. > :17:46.Premiership. It is important we look at the market and then start

:17:47. > :17:52.twisting and turning the best we can. We deserve to be near the

:17:53. > :17:56.play-offs but that is why we will end up where we are and not in the

:17:57. > :18:01.play-offs. When we have played well and not taken opportunities, it has

:18:02. > :18:11.cost us. Games like this were always going to be tight. We made a

:18:12. > :18:16.mistake. You finish where you deserve to finish at the end of it.

:18:17. > :18:21.That takes Burnley beyond the 90 point barrier, how impressed have

:18:22. > :18:28.you been considering they have secured promotion on Easter Monday?

:18:29. > :18:34.A couple of the lads have been interviewed about the season they

:18:35. > :18:37.have had. The first thing that came across is how well-prepared they

:18:38. > :18:41.were. They all knew their jobs. If you look at Leicester and Burnley,

:18:42. > :18:47.the managers have not overcomplicated anything. They have

:18:48. > :18:51.stuck to a rigid formula of what they have required from those

:18:52. > :18:58.players. Why would they take their foot off the gas? You have been in

:18:59. > :19:05.their situation and secure promotion. Do the players want to

:19:06. > :19:07.sit back and relax, reflect and enjoyed the moments before the

:19:08. > :19:12.pundits start writing off their hopes in the Premier League? That is

:19:13. > :19:19.disrespectful, anybody who does that will be wrong. Relief, enjoyments, a

:19:20. > :19:25.mixture. These seasons don't come round every year, so make the most

:19:26. > :19:30.of it. But look towards the Premiership, look to see how you can

:19:31. > :19:33.do better and prepare yourself for another big challenge. Ipswich had

:19:34. > :19:38.the chance of making the play-offs, but only towards the end of last

:19:39. > :19:42.season they went to Burnley at the securing their place in the bottom

:19:43. > :19:47.three. In the last 12 months they have made great strides under Mick

:19:48. > :19:52.McCarthy? Mick McCarthy was interviewed and he said, we are a

:19:53. > :20:01.top ten side, happy with his squad. With a bit of luck, we might make

:20:02. > :20:06.the play-offs. David McGoldrick got injured and maybe that was the

:20:07. > :20:12.turning point in their season. Six teams are jostling for the remaining

:20:13. > :20:17.play-off laces. Brighton played Yeovil who knew defeat would signal

:20:18. > :20:34.the end of their first-ever season the second tier.

:20:35. > :21:00.That was a good hits. That was careless by McAllister. Lingard.

:21:01. > :21:14.Chance was missed. From that position, he should have scored.

:21:15. > :21:26.Edwards! Great chance for Yeovilton to take the lead. An opportunity

:21:27. > :21:37.carved out by the substitute. -- Yeovil.

:21:38. > :21:51.Testing ball in. All the way in. When they needed it most, Brighton

:21:52. > :21:56.have just got lucky. It was an attempted cross by Kazenga LuaLua

:21:57. > :21:58.has gone straight in past the goalkeeper who was rooted to his

:21:59. > :22:23.line. Lingard. That finishes it. Two

:22:24. > :22:25.minutes into stoppage time. On loan, Jesse Lingard, borrowed from

:22:26. > :22:33.Manchester United turns in the second and victory to Brighton.

:22:34. > :22:42.Although it was goalless with 12 minutes to go. Yeovil Town are

:22:43. > :22:46.relegated. Every now and again at this level, you get that extra bit

:22:47. > :22:54.of quality that costs goals against you. Our luck have been like that

:22:55. > :23:04.all season as well. We have been prolific if we could shoot three

:23:05. > :23:11.inches lower. Two months ago, nobody said can be fighting in the last

:23:12. > :23:20.round to get into the play-offs. We are here. A driving force in

:23:21. > :23:25.Derby's midfield, the reward for them season was the player of the

:23:26. > :23:31.honour. There was an early blow to their prospects of racking up a

:23:32. > :23:42.fifth successive win. Troy Dini finished as calm as they come. Far

:23:43. > :23:57.left -- far less composed, defending. The Rams completed the

:23:58. > :24:02.turnaround with Craig Forsyth. There was more trouble in store for the

:24:03. > :24:11.Hornets who face the final quarter of the match a man light. Despite

:24:12. > :24:24.that disadvantage, what would found a way to draw work -- level. That

:24:25. > :24:30.was sloppy play. Derby were rescued by Hendrik. His third goal in two

:24:31. > :24:37.games restoring their lead as the Rams guaranteed them selves third

:24:38. > :24:45.place. Still time for Chris Martin to take his place on the scoresheet.

:24:46. > :24:47.Derby equalled their record points tally and maintained momentum

:24:48. > :24:51.although the boss will take nothing for granted. We are playing good

:24:52. > :24:55.foot ball and going into the play-offs in good form. But for

:24:56. > :25:05.means nothing in these play-offs. Anything can happen. Brighton's win

:25:06. > :25:11.will have left Reading feeling deflated for the trip to Doncaster

:25:12. > :25:23.whose own season was in danger of blowing up. The outlook appeared

:25:24. > :25:37.promising. It was copping jerk's goal that won the side promotion

:25:38. > :25:49.last year. Nigel Atkins team set about repairing the damage. A

:25:50. > :25:56.pointer wouldn't be ideal for either side but with three minutes left,

:25:57. > :25:59.the travelling fans were sent into raptures. For the first time since

:26:00. > :26:10.the opening day, the Royals have come from behind to take maximum

:26:11. > :26:16.points. The Berkshire club are up to fifth but Doncaster's fight for

:26:17. > :26:23.survival goes to the final game. The first half wasn't very good?

:26:24. > :26:28.Correct. Just reminded the players what is expected and they are the

:26:29. > :26:37.ones who have to go out and do it. They did a great in the second half.

:26:38. > :26:42.AIK cannot remember Sam Johnstone moving, but he picked the ball out

:26:43. > :26:50.of the back of his net three times. Mathematically, Rovers can make the

:26:51. > :26:54.play-offs but that would require an improbable series of results. Just

:26:55. > :27:14.missing out can be a painful business. Ask Jordan Rhodes. Marvin

:27:15. > :27:20.Sordell's Easter Monday hat-trick had strengthened their survival bid.

:27:21. > :27:26.But his spot kick was weak and comfortably saved by Robinson. Black

:27:27. > :27:31.bird took full advantage. Michael Keane doubled their lead in the

:27:32. > :27:35.second half as Charlton succumbed to a fourth home defeat out of six.

:27:36. > :27:44.Their game in hand is at the Valley with what would the visitors on

:27:45. > :27:49.Tuesday. -- Watford. Blackburn Rovers made sure of victory with

:27:50. > :28:01.eight third goal. Tom Cairney proved decisive.

:28:02. > :28:05.All we can do is look after ourselves and we have a difficult

:28:06. > :28:10.game against Wigan. We have two reproduce the level of performance

:28:11. > :28:14.we have shown today. Yeovil saw their fate sealed 24 hours ago and

:28:15. > :28:21.damaging results for Charlton and Doncaster. Let's concentrate on the

:28:22. > :28:27.play-offs. Reading, it was only their second comeback win of the

:28:28. > :28:31.season, the first being on the opening day of the season. Now the

:28:32. > :28:38.fates of the play-offs is back in their own hands? Yes, the last

:28:39. > :28:45.couple of games they have won had they have managed to turn things

:28:46. > :28:51.around. That was just allowed to run through. It was a good win. It is in

:28:52. > :29:00.their hands. If that was the last game of the season, they would have

:29:01. > :29:06.taken that. Non-RB 's teams are grasping six place and securing it?

:29:07. > :29:10.Three teams in the battle for two places? If you look at the play-off

:29:11. > :29:16.situations, only Derby have kept the momentum going will stop QPR have

:29:17. > :29:25.stuttered at times. Teams below them, Reading, Wigan, Brighton, have

:29:26. > :29:30.all flattered at times to deceive. If you are in this situation it is

:29:31. > :29:36.yours to throw away. I don't expect Wigan or Reading to open the door.

:29:37. > :29:42.But it is close with goal difference? It is just one goal.

:29:43. > :29:46.Black burn and are only three points off. If you look at the game

:29:47. > :29:52.Brighton have against black burn, goal difference has done them a

:29:53. > :29:56.favour because it has ruled like burn-out of the occasion. As we

:29:57. > :30:05.approach the final round of games, non-these managers their rest their

:30:06. > :30:08.key players? If it is in your hands, you will be disappointed if you do

:30:09. > :30:17.not see it through, last game of the season. As for the pre-season

:30:18. > :30:21.favourites for automatic promotion - if QPR are to bounce back to the

:30:22. > :30:25.Premier League at the first time of asking, they'll have to do it the

:30:26. > :30:28.hard way. Clem was at Loftus Road today to assess the mood as they

:30:29. > :30:31.welcomed a familiar face in Ian Holloway, with his Millwall side

:30:32. > :30:56.scrapping for their Championship lives. The look of a whopping happen

:30:57. > :31:05.this season season with injuries. At the gate. They could probably

:31:06. > :31:17.perform in the Premiership. Against Barnsley and it seems, is it.

:31:18. > :32:17.is we are in Wales, and I think that we have got a good

:32:18. > :32:35.It is great to see them growing. Welcome home. It is weird for you.

:32:36. > :32:45.15 years you put in here? I know, it has not been as difficult. It should

:32:46. > :32:50.be good. You are going to put some shorts on for the match? Are you in

:32:51. > :32:58.the zone, ready? I don't know what in the zone is! I will be ready. As

:32:59. > :33:07.ready as we can be. Got good players, good lads, has been a great

:33:08. > :33:09.atmosphere. Looking forward to it. Millwall did their best to set the

:33:10. > :33:19.early tempo. David Forde had to scramble to keep

:33:20. > :33:25.out Charlie Austin and Niko Kranjcar in rapid succession. Ravel Morrison

:33:26. > :33:30.was thwarted as both men were at full stretch. Then the strugglers

:33:31. > :33:34.fired a warning of their own, with Martyn Woolford close to finding the

:33:35. > :33:39.corner. It took the intervention of the referee to break the deadlock,

:33:40. > :33:43.Simeon Jackson judged to have handled the ball, allowing Charlie

:33:44. > :33:48.Austin to do the honours. 12 minutes remained, Millwall had to dig eight,

:33:49. > :33:54.and but for the bar, Sean Williams would have had them level.

:33:55. > :34:00.By stoppage time, Route one was the only option, and when the ball

:34:01. > :34:05.dropped kindly for Scott Malone, Rangers defenders just stood and

:34:06. > :34:16.watched. We will know in one week's time how important that the

:34:17. > :34:20.equaliser could be. It is just so difficult to get results at this

:34:21. > :34:24.time of year. Millwall, scrapping for their lives, played very well.

:34:25. > :34:30.We went one up and I thought we would be OK, but we gave away a

:34:31. > :34:35.terrible goal in the last minute. It hurts to go behind in that fashion.

:34:36. > :34:41.It is ridiculously harsh. The handball has got to be deliberate.

:34:42. > :34:44.And there was no way that that was deliberate. But he has given it. We

:34:45. > :34:53.showed tremendous character to come back. Despite having the joint worst

:34:54. > :34:56.defence, that late equaliser for Millwall was a refreshing change for

:34:57. > :35:00.their fans to see post and it could be a massive point at the end of the

:35:01. > :35:04.season. They showed in that game what we have seen in the previous

:35:05. > :35:09.seven, was of character, and they just kept believing. And that goal

:35:10. > :35:17.could be the difference. The point also makes a QPR difference. The

:35:18. > :35:22.second leg of their play-off would be at Loftus Road. They are still

:35:23. > :35:27.struggling to get some momentum. It has been a war. We have not seen the

:35:28. > :35:31.free-flowing football be expected from them this season. But they have

:35:32. > :35:35.got Charlie Austin coming back, making a difference. If they could

:35:36. > :35:40.get all of those components working together in the same direction then

:35:41. > :35:47.they will be a tough proposition to play against.

:35:48. > :35:52.Our final look at The Championship starts at the Riverside where

:35:53. > :35:55.Barnsley's fate could be sealed. A win over Middlesbrough would take

:35:56. > :35:59.their battle into a final day. Lose and their eight year stay in The

:36:00. > :36:03.Championship will be over. 17 years since leading Barnsley to the

:36:04. > :36:11.Premier League, Danny Wilson's rescue machine was boosted by Jean

:36:12. > :36:14.Yves Mvoto. The Frenchman went from hero to zero within 60 seconds when

:36:15. > :36:20.he and exploited we passed the ball to Lee Tomlin, who crashed a shot

:36:21. > :36:24.straight past Luke Steele. It was harsh on the Barnsley goalkeeper

:36:25. > :36:28.whose heroics had kept his team firmly in the contest. A point

:36:29. > :36:32.simply would not be enough for Barnsley in their search for a

:36:33. > :36:37.winner, Middlesbrough hit them on the counter, with Danny Graham

:36:38. > :36:41.pouncing to land the killer blow. Barnsley's fate was sealed, but they

:36:42. > :36:50.still had further punishment to come. Albert Adomah opened the door

:36:51. > :36:54.for his second. Middlesbrough signing off with a win in their

:36:55. > :36:57.final home game, while The Championship waves goodbye to

:36:58. > :37:04.Barnsley, who is eight years in the second tier is over with some of

:37:05. > :37:08.rebuilding lying ahead. We are disappointed. It hurts, but we have

:37:09. > :37:13.got to move on and accept what we have to do next season. Could

:37:14. > :37:17.Birmingham be joining Barnsley in League One? The Blues dropped into

:37:18. > :37:22.the bottom three for the first time this season after the defeat to

:37:23. > :37:26.Leeds United. Matt Smith opened the score for United just before 60

:37:27. > :37:30.minutes. Two minutes later, Birmingham were further behind, with

:37:31. > :37:37.a collective loss of focus around Danny Pugh, who hammered in goal

:37:38. > :37:40.number two. The Blues can still save themselves, with a game in hand, but

:37:41. > :37:48.that match is against Wigan, at home, where Birmingham just cannot

:37:49. > :37:52.win. All can this sealed the defeat was an own goal. They have not won

:37:53. > :37:58.at St Andrew's since October. The Blues pulled one back through

:37:59. > :38:02.Federico Macheda, but unless they win on Tuesday, they will be staring

:38:03. > :38:09.down the barrel of their first relegation from -- to the 30th, for

:38:10. > :38:17.20 years. That negative feeling, it starts to come around again. And it

:38:18. > :38:22.was just literally an awful day for us, but we have got six points to

:38:23. > :38:28.play for, we have got to get all six, to give ourselves a chance and

:38:29. > :38:31.go from there. We have one three out of cracked against teams that are

:38:32. > :38:36.fighting for their lives, and it is never going to be easy. The fans

:38:37. > :38:43.were right up the game, so were the players. Brighton's Friday night

:38:44. > :38:48.victory effectively killed off Bournemouth's play-off bid, but the

:38:49. > :38:53.header from Yann Kermogant crowned a lively first-half display which

:38:54. > :38:59.suggested Eddie Howe's side would keep believing until results

:39:00. > :39:04.elsewhere cut them off. After Eunan O'Kane was blocked out, Lewis

:39:05. > :39:10.Grabban made it two. Reality began to bite for Nottingham Forest, who

:39:11. > :39:15.host Brighton next week, and started the day with outside prospects of

:39:16. > :39:17.their own. Dorus de Vries prevented Yann Kermogant from putting

:39:18. > :39:21.Bournemouth in complete command. There were still a flicker of hope

:39:22. > :39:34.for Nottingham Forest. Greg Harlow pulled a goal back. -- Halford. Then

:39:35. > :39:38.the player of the season for the Cherries stepped forward, Lewis

:39:39. > :39:44.Grabban gobbling up his 22nd of the campaign from the spot. Bournemouth

:39:45. > :39:48.on course for their first win in four games, that late minislump

:39:49. > :39:52.costing them a chance of promotion, at the south coast side seem to have

:39:53. > :39:59.a good reason to look forward to next season. Yann Kermogant

:40:00. > :40:04.completing a Boccia Mac goal rout. It looks ominous for the next

:40:05. > :40:08.opponents, Millwall. We beat them convincingly in the end. It was very

:40:09. > :40:13.pleasing. We leave the fans in good spirits with a good feeling around

:40:14. > :40:17.the club. That is the best team that I have played since I have been in

:40:18. > :40:24.charge. On the day, they were too good for us. Stuart Grey hope to

:40:25. > :40:28.give Sheffield Wednesday fans the perfect sendoff in their final home

:40:29. > :40:34.game of the season. He wanted his side to kick the habit of giving

:40:35. > :40:39.goals away. Eight minutes in, defensive frailties surfaced once

:40:40. > :40:43.more, with Jermaine Beckford sliding the ball across four Neil Danns to

:40:44. > :40:47.score his sixth of the campaign. More bad defending saw them

:40:48. > :40:53.increasingly, than on their hit pass pounced on by Chung Yong Lee, as

:40:54. > :40:59.Bolton closed in on the win that would stretch their unbeaten run on

:41:00. > :41:04.their travels to eight matches. Liam Trotter set his sights, and he was

:41:05. > :41:10.bang on target. His fourth of the campaign, a definite goal of the

:41:11. > :41:17.season contender, as was the strike that got Wednesday on the

:41:18. > :41:20.scoresheet, Mattock cutting the deficit, but Bolton saw it through

:41:21. > :41:28.to maintain their 100% record in Yorkshire this season. We started

:41:29. > :41:37.very well. The tackling was sensational at times. We deserve to

:41:38. > :41:41.be 3-0 up. This is one way to upstage the Football League

:41:42. > :41:48.champions. Adam Clayton dig that famous beard blue and white in a job

:41:49. > :41:55.-- in aid of a local charity, the Town Foundation. Leicester, however,

:41:56. > :41:59.were not in a charitable mood. Nigel Pearson made six changes to the team

:42:00. > :42:05.that beat Bolton during the week, two of them combining for the

:42:06. > :42:09.opener, with Lloyd Dyer team up Gary Taylor-Fletcher for a spectacular

:42:10. > :42:12.third goal of the season. With the relegation fears behind

:42:13. > :42:19.Huddersfield, the Terriers contributed to an open game, and it

:42:20. > :42:26.took a goal-line clearance from Adam Moore to deny -- from Liam Gill, to

:42:27. > :42:30.deny Adam Hamill. Nigel Pearson has set his side the target of breaking

:42:31. > :42:34.the 100 - point barrier for the first time in the club's history.

:42:35. > :42:39.Alex Smithies did his best to prevent them reaching 99. The foxes

:42:40. > :42:44.made sure of maximum points with 15 minutes to go. Clayton could not

:42:45. > :42:48.quite get his beard onto this Wes Morgan effort, and next week, they

:42:49. > :42:54.will be celebrating with the Football League Trophy. I am pleased

:42:55. > :42:58.with how the players applied themselves. It can be difficult at

:42:59. > :43:02.this stage of the season to continue to play so well. I made a number of

:43:03. > :43:12.changes today. That showed that we have got a strong squad. Five of the

:43:13. > :43:15.bottom six in The Championship lost, and relegation for Barnsley and

:43:16. > :43:20.general confirmed. It is local incidents that they are amongst two

:43:21. > :43:26.of the lowest scorers in the league. -- it is no coincidence.

:43:27. > :43:32.Also two of the lowest budgets. You get sides in this division against

:43:33. > :43:37.teams with much bigger budgets. There is a conscious decision at the

:43:38. > :43:39.start of the season, are we going to give the manager more money than we

:43:40. > :43:46.should to stay in this division? That might mean losing two or 3

:43:47. > :43:49.million, or do we stay within the financial capability of the football

:43:50. > :43:57.club and try to run it openly, and if we do, it is probably going to be

:43:58. > :44:02.a bit of a struggle. It is a reflection on two well-run club is

:44:03. > :44:08.not getting the points. No home wins at St Andrew's for six months now. A

:44:09. > :44:16.bit of leeway should be given to Lee Clark, do you agree? When you have

:44:17. > :44:25.got the owner and chairman in jail, it is a rudderless ship. They have

:44:26. > :44:28.used the loan system a lot. I heard Paul Robinson talking about it. It

:44:29. > :44:35.did not quite work. Some people use it well, others do not use it quite

:44:36. > :44:40.so well. Lee Clark is the manager. They have got players who are

:44:41. > :44:44.capable of winning games. It has been too much of a bad run for him

:44:45. > :44:52.not to take some of the blame. There will be others as well, who are

:44:53. > :44:56.capable. -- culpable. It is a horrendous time for their fans. Five

:44:57. > :45:00.teams looking to avoid one Relegation Place. Local incidents

:45:01. > :45:10.that many of those teams at the bottom have got limited or low

:45:11. > :45:16.attendances for the division. When you come to the smaller of the

:45:17. > :45:23.clubs, absolutely. Money does talk up to a point. How worried are you

:45:24. > :45:29.if you are very right now? You will look around the dressing room and

:45:30. > :45:33.then, yes or no. I was in a dressing room with the same situation and

:45:34. > :45:38.thoughts, we can get out of it. We went very close. I have been in

:45:39. > :45:43.other dressing rooms and thought, I am not sure. It is in their hands

:45:44. > :45:49.because they have the game in hand. In their current form, you cannot

:45:50. > :45:55.see it. Wigan have everything to play for and Bolton are in the form

:45:56. > :46:01.of their lives. Let's round of the championship are looking at the top

:46:02. > :46:10.half. Black burn out of the play-off race at Derby the team with

:46:11. > :46:15.momentum. Five wins in five and top scorers in the division? They are

:46:16. > :46:22.the team nobody will want to play. Steve McClaren wanted to say, we are

:46:23. > :46:28.in good nick. But he had to keep a bit of a lid on it. He said we have

:46:29. > :46:34.pace and power and they will be a force to be reckoned with. Let's see

:46:35. > :46:38.how League 1 played out as Wolverhampton Wanderers faced a

:46:39. > :46:47.Coventry side looking for points to guarantee their safety.

:46:48. > :46:56.The Wolves title winning season has seen them rewrite club records. But

:46:57. > :47:05.after the recent euphoria this was a more prosaic afternoon. Coventry

:47:06. > :47:18.required a draw to be certain of more League 1 football next season.

:47:19. > :47:24.With Brentford 's planning for life in the championship, this was a big

:47:25. > :47:32.again put Colchester. Three minutes later, another set piece allowed

:47:33. > :47:36.Crystal Palace loanee, Alex Wynter to bury his first career goal.

:47:37. > :47:51.Brentford were conforming to the gone on their holidays stereotype.

:47:52. > :47:59.Freddie Sears scored the third goal of the frenetic spell. Brentford

:48:00. > :48:12.manager, Mark Waugh button has not had to give too many half-time

:48:13. > :48:15.tellings of sins taking over. No would the manner of Colchester's

:48:16. > :48:27.fourth goal. Freddie Sears nipped in to make the game safe. Brentford did

:48:28. > :48:35.have a final chance to make the margin of defeat more respectable.

:48:36. > :48:42.Alan Judge was caught. But former Chelsea youngster, Sam Walker the

:48:43. > :48:57.night him as Colchester ensured the goals. The players wanted it. Great

:48:58. > :49:05.performance. It was below our normal standard. We have another game to go

:49:06. > :49:14.and we want to win it next week. So do the players. Another game for

:49:15. > :49:23.Rotherham to try to pick up momentum of the play-offs. At the MK dons

:49:24. > :49:27.called them cold. The dons, who had a player stretchered off before

:49:28. > :49:35.half-time were reduced to ten men in the second half. Brendan Galloway

:49:36. > :49:42.curtailing this route to goal. Already booked, he was soon heading

:49:43. > :49:48.back to the dressing room. Steve Evans' side looked out of sorts and

:49:49. > :49:54.despite being a man lights, the visitors took full advantage. McLeod

:49:55. > :50:02.clipped the ball past the goalkeeper. The Millers were staring

:50:03. > :50:06.at their first home defeat in 11 mass edge. Michael O'Connor tucked

:50:07. > :50:12.away his second of the season. And from this stoppage time throw, Ravel

:50:13. > :50:23.moved into double figures in the campaign.

:50:24. > :50:26.Preston have garnered more points from many other teams promoted

:50:27. > :50:33.automatically from league last season. Their form has been

:50:34. > :50:39.relentless and Stuart Bevan set up John Walsh for the opener. Peter

:50:40. > :50:49.Taylor's arrival in October has made a positive difference to Kent's only

:50:50. > :50:55.league team. Cody map Donald scored the equaliser, his 17th goal of the

:50:56. > :50:58.season. Paul Gallagher has enjoyed a successful loan spell from

:50:59. > :51:06.Leicester. He put Preston back in front. Simon Grayson's team were in

:51:07. > :51:21.the process of extending their unbeaten run to 12 matches. Neil

:51:22. > :51:24.killed Kenny put Preston 3-1 ahead. Tranmere arrived in East London

:51:25. > :51:28.knowing defeat could send them back into the relegation zone and went in

:51:29. > :51:33.kind when Kevin has been posted his 16th goal of the season. Although

:51:34. > :51:42.orients can't improve on a play-off race, they weren't about to ease

:51:43. > :51:48.off. The goals have run out for the Wirral side just that the wrong time

:51:49. > :51:54.and a striker who started his career at Prenton Park, then embarrass the

:51:55. > :52:00.goalkeeper to ensure Tranmere must be to Bradford next week and hope

:52:01. > :52:07.other results fall into place. It was poor from us. We are not in this

:52:08. > :52:12.position because of today's lack of concentration and defending, it has

:52:13. > :52:17.been consistent from day one. The last roll of the dice for

:52:18. > :52:21.Shrewsbury. Only a win would keep their survival hopes alive and even

:52:22. > :52:27.then there were no guarantees. They did have a reward for a bright

:52:28. > :52:34.start. But their hopes of pulling off an unlikely escape evaporated.

:52:35. > :52:44.Peter Boro came storming back. Washington drew them level. Darren

:52:45. > :52:52.Ferguson's men found their rhythm. Washington scored a second. Despite

:52:53. > :53:02.that hefty collision, he was able to continue and chase down a hat-trick.

:53:03. > :53:12.It almost arrived soon after. The woodwork denied Washington a first

:53:13. > :53:19.heart trouble. Posh win control after they jumped on the rebound. On

:53:20. > :53:24.the stroke of half-time, Shrewsbury were back in contention from

:53:25. > :53:47.Bradshaw. But the odds were still stacked against them. Washington

:53:48. > :53:53.scored again. The terrific save. It did nothing to prevent Shrewsbury

:53:54. > :53:57.heading out of League 1. This late strike confirmed their place in the

:53:58. > :54:04.top six. Shrewsbury now need to rebuild.

:54:05. > :54:07.Everyone has got to look at themselves if they think in that

:54:08. > :54:12.dressing room they are not responsible, they are very much

:54:13. > :54:17.mistaken. But this club has an opportunity now and we have got to

:54:18. > :54:20.move forward very quickly. We have got to start building for the future

:54:21. > :54:27.and we cannot let things like that happen again. We made it more

:54:28. > :54:31.uncomfortable than we needed to. A sloppy start drummers and a bright

:54:32. > :54:42.start from Shrewsbury. But then we were dominant. We were lacking that

:54:43. > :54:46.bit. Their dreams of a cup and promotion double are still clearly a

:54:47. > :54:52.possibility, but it means Shrewsbury will be plainly to foot all next

:54:53. > :54:58.season. It was always going to be a tough job particularly for someone

:54:59. > :55:06.as inexperienced as Michael Jackson? Yes, but at that stage of the season

:55:07. > :55:11.and when you have been through this before, I don't know whether it

:55:12. > :55:16.would have been better to leave the manager imposition. Colchester got

:55:17. > :55:21.the win they needed against Brentford. I got a dramatic final

:55:22. > :55:28.season when at Carlisle to secure safety. What about that, 4-1 winners

:55:29. > :55:35.against Brentford on Saturday? We have mentioned other teams who have

:55:36. > :55:42.set out to achieve what they wanted to do. Brentford have taken their

:55:43. > :55:51.foot off the gas. Taking nothing away from Colchester. Tranmere's

:55:52. > :55:54.results helped Colchester but they have slipped into the relegation

:55:55. > :56:03.zone. Are these signs of nerves at this stage? I think so. Sometimes

:56:04. > :56:08.you try and do a bit too much and some things in your game appear that

:56:09. > :56:12.had not been there. But it is the pressure you are playing under. It

:56:13. > :56:17.was never going to be an easy game on paper. Staying with League 1 and

:56:18. > :56:25.after two wins in three, Notts County have moved close to safety.

:56:26. > :56:31.The Robins were in with a mathematical chance of making the

:56:32. > :56:34.play-offs. A day when Notts County held their

:56:35. > :56:40.nerve when Swindon lost their discipline. Lots County enjoyed a

:56:41. > :56:46.resurgence started. That's the way it stayed. Maybe frustrated by that

:56:47. > :56:51.and off the ball incident in stoppage time led to a red card. And

:56:52. > :57:01.in the pushing and shoving that followed, as second yellow for

:57:02. > :57:05.Nathan Thompson. The keeper ventured forward in desperation and then must

:57:06. > :57:10.have felt this may as Notts County cleared the set piece, broke at

:57:11. > :57:19.considerable speed and Callum Mcgregor scored a counter attacking

:57:20. > :57:23.goal. I have been around the game as a player for too long to realise

:57:24. > :57:29.strange things do happen on the final day. I want us to go there and

:57:30. > :57:36.perform. I want us to perform on the last day of the season and end the

:57:37. > :57:41.season in the right way. Two sides will end the season in a

:57:42. > :57:45.positive frame of mind met at a soggy Vale Park. The home side have

:57:46. > :57:54.consolidated successfully after promotion. Williamson almost gave

:57:55. > :57:58.them the perfect start. An unwitting assist from Michael Doyle led to a

:57:59. > :58:08.Port Vale goal which was finished by Louis Dodds. But Sheffield United

:58:09. > :58:14.have spirit to spare and turned the game around later. First John

:58:15. > :58:19.Brayford picked out Jamie Murphy. And in the final minute of normal

:58:20. > :58:27.time, there was almost a carbon copy, this time involving Ryan Flynn

:58:28. > :58:32.and Chris Porter. The blades will be regretting their revival under Nigel

:58:33. > :58:44.Clough did not start sooner. A home defeat to Bristol City and Monday

:58:45. > :58:48.confirmed their relegation. The visitors had come into the game

:58:49. > :59:01.in poor form but after this equaliser, they took the lead four

:59:02. > :59:16.minutes later. Craig Westcarr tapped home his 16th of the season in all,

:59:17. > :59:22.petitions. The man who scored Blake goals in the last two home games

:59:23. > :59:28.decided the match eight minutes from time. Luke Freeman taking advantage

:59:29. > :59:38.of defensive indecision. Stevenage have stopped the rot.

:59:39. > :59:46.City's threat was sporadic. Elliott released Paterson, but they couldn't

:59:47. > :59:49.get a goal. Crewe created a great chance to win a game of few

:59:50. > :00:02.opportunities in the last five minutes. It was spurned by Tootle.

:00:03. > :00:08.It may Bradford City remembered the 56 people who died in the Valley

:00:09. > :00:16.Parade fire 29 years ago. All the goals were in the second-half.

:00:17. > :00:21.McLean gave Bradford the lead. Crawley will play nine matches in

:00:22. > :00:26.April, any gifts like the one presented to Proctor are gratefully

:00:27. > :00:35.received. Bradford ensured they left with nothing. Thompson glanced in

:00:36. > :00:42.his first goal since September. Carlisle came into this crucial

:00:43. > :00:45.match three points from safety. When they clipped the bar they looked

:00:46. > :00:51.capable of getting the result they needed. An individual goal from

:00:52. > :00:57.James Dayton was the decisive moment of the game. The former Palace

:00:58. > :01:01.youngster showing composure and class. This header went over the

:01:02. > :01:06.bar. Unless Carlisle win at Crawley on Tuesday, it could be all over for

:01:07. > :01:10.them. The lads gave their absolute all. I said last week that we lacked

:01:11. > :01:16.leaders. We lacked probably a little bit of quality, which we have known

:01:17. > :01:21.all season. There was a fear factor amongst the players. You can get

:01:22. > :01:25.that with inexperience and youth. I wasn't gutted. Carlisle may have the

:01:26. > :01:31.game in hand. It's looking grim for them, isn't it? Unfortunately for

:01:32. > :01:34.them the two games are away from home. They have won three away from

:01:35. > :01:41.home all season. It will be tough. What an amazing revival at Meadow

:01:42. > :01:48.Lane, six wins out of eight for Shaun Derry. Terrific win against

:01:49. > :01:54.Swindon. The last thing Notts County fan, Sean Derry is, he will want to

:01:55. > :01:58.his name is relegation. He is trying to get them out of it? He is. He

:01:59. > :02:02.never stopped believing. Even when he was being questioned we thought,

:02:03. > :02:07.blimey he has a tough job on there. He kept believing. Won five at home.

:02:08. > :02:12.Down-and-out in November. Won five at home on the bounce. It turned

:02:13. > :02:18.their season around. They have won as many games at home as Preston are

:02:19. > :02:23.third. That gives you an idea of how strong they are at home under him. A

:02:24. > :02:27.as far as the relegation battle is concerned. Four teams looking to

:02:28. > :02:31.avoid the two remaining places, isn't it? Colchester with the goal

:02:32. > :02:37.difference as such can't be caught now. Notts County, Oldham, Crewe and

:02:38. > :02:42.Tranmere both at home. Tranmere in the situation that they are in, it's

:02:43. > :02:46.out of their hands. Going into the last game of the season you one

:02:47. > :02:51.thing you want is to be able to have the destiny of your own future

:02:52. > :02:56.within your grasp. That is what the other two sides they have got. These

:02:57. > :03:00.are the fixtures remaining against the sides batting against the drop.

:03:01. > :03:06.We mentioned Carlisle. We have to put into the mix that Madine,

:03:07. > :03:10.talisman, he has done well so far, due to a certain stipulations he

:03:11. > :03:16.won't be available for the two remaining away games? Yes. He has to

:03:17. > :03:21.be back for something around 7.00pm no way he will be back from either

:03:22. > :03:29.at that time. The other thing you that stands out, it's Crewe at home

:03:30. > :03:33.against Preston. What Preston side will turn up? Will he rest a few

:03:34. > :03:37.before the play-offs or have a go. That is what you have to look at.

:03:38. > :03:41.Preston are one of the four teams involved in the end of season League

:03:42. > :03:47.One play-offs of course. Peterborough now secure in there

:03:48. > :03:52.after a good win on Saturday. The talking of Grayson's side they have

:03:53. > :03:57.to overcome the record in the play-offs. Seven defeats while they

:03:58. > :04:04.have been in the end of season jamboree, as it is called. He turned

:04:05. > :04:08.had youedels field around, albeit on penalties. Going into that game

:04:09. > :04:18.their record wasn't great. They will look for him to work the oracle

:04:19. > :04:21.again at Preston. Time for League Two now, which could see the start

:04:22. > :04:25.of three promotion parties in full swing. But in order for them to get

:04:26. > :04:31.the champagne flowing, they needed potential gate-crashers Fleetwood to

:04:32. > :04:35.slip up at home to Southend. When Schumacher put Fleetwood in front

:04:36. > :04:39.against Southend they would have been dreaming of automatic

:04:40. > :04:44.promotion. The lead didn't last long. Southend, in the play-offs,

:04:45. > :04:49.found the equaliser. Corr with his fourth crucial goal in his last five

:04:50. > :04:53.games. Bentley saved brilliantly from Schumacher after the break.

:04:54. > :04:58.There was to be no winner. It opened the door for Scunthorpe and

:04:59. > :05:01.Rochdale, much to the dismay of Graham Alexander. We are

:05:02. > :05:07.disappointed we didn't win the game today. Like I said, we can't get

:05:08. > :05:14.down about other people's results we have to look after our own. We are

:05:15. > :05:20.disappointed not to win today. Scunthorpe slipped up themselves.

:05:21. > :05:32.Wood win had gone three-and-a-half years without scoring before that

:05:33. > :05:40.thunder bolt -- Woodman. Keohane quaranteed their survival and end

:05:41. > :05:45.the unbeaten start to his managerial career. Scunthorpe achieved their

:05:46. > :05:49.promotion aim. They didn't know it until the Fleetwood news came

:05:50. > :05:54.through, then the celebrations could commence. What a strange day. You

:05:55. > :05:58.are unbeaten record has gone gone. You got promoted? Crazy day. Awful

:05:59. > :06:04.today. That was our worse performance in the 29. Credit must

:06:05. > :06:08.go to Exeter. They are fighting for their Football League lives. It

:06:09. > :06:12.showed. Promotion, we have to look at that, 28 games helped to achieve

:06:13. > :06:17.that. Thank you very much to Phil Brown and his boys they did us a

:06:18. > :06:21.favour today. The bigger picture is we are promoted. Delighted for the

:06:22. > :06:24.travelling fans and everybody associated with the football club.

:06:25. > :06:28.Every day the lads turn in and want to better themselves as individuals

:06:29. > :06:32.and as a group. They have done that. It's been all about the squad. The

:06:33. > :06:36.players have come in and out of the team. I made tough decisions. They

:06:37. > :06:39.backed me all the way. The lads who are not in the team worked hard to

:06:40. > :06:44.get back in the team. That is the key, it's about the group.

:06:45. > :06:49.Fleetwood's draw was good news for Rochdale. Promotion was quaranteed

:06:50. > :06:57.if they could better Town's result. He this were determined to do their

:06:58. > :07:04.bit. A quick-fire start saw Henderson passing to Vincenti for

:07:05. > :07:08.the opener. Victory was all about secured with less than a quarter of

:07:09. > :07:14.an hour played. Henderson claimed the second and killer goal. Keith

:07:15. > :07:19.Hill is the first Rochdale manager to win promotion twice as Da will e

:07:20. > :07:22.return to League One after a two year absence. Capital One question

:07:23. > :07:29.remains, can they go up as champions?

:07:30. > :07:42.There was nearly a major shock, York City came within conceding a goal to

:07:43. > :07:48.this Minshull's header. Coulson was denied by the crossbar. With 13

:07:49. > :07:52.clean sheets in 15 games taken as read, the same player used a

:07:53. > :07:59.set-piece to settle the match and secure a play-off place with a

:08:00. > :08:03.seventh 1-0 win in 11 matches. The players have been phenomenonal. For

:08:04. > :08:10.that they got their just rewards. Great three points and earning a

:08:11. > :08:15.place, rightly so in the play-offs. After just four points from their

:08:16. > :08:22.first 12 games, Accrington looked certain to slip out of the Football

:08:23. > :08:30.League. There has been a revival from their players. Odejayi put them

:08:31. > :08:36.on their way. James Gray helped to make that unwith. He got the second,

:08:37. > :08:46.after this burst through some flimsy tackling. Oxford were heading for

:08:47. > :08:50.their sixth defeat in seven games. Despite this from Ryan Williams,

:08:51. > :08:54.their play-off hopes were snuffed out. When I walked through the door

:08:55. > :08:59.I said to the boys they were the reason I took the job. I thanked

:09:00. > :09:03.them there for from the bottom of my heart for their efforts this season

:09:04. > :09:08.to get us back and make sure the club sustained league status for

:09:09. > :09:12.another year. I will not accept what I've seen today. It's not right for

:09:13. > :09:17.this football club. We need to change the culture here at the club.

:09:18. > :09:26.At the moment, we have a losing one. That will change. I can make sure of

:09:27. > :09:33.that it will be a busy summer. There will definitely be change. 100 or so

:09:34. > :09:38.Hartlepool fans showed up in Plymouth in Thunderbird offices.

:09:39. > :09:43.After Banton put the home side in front, they needed someone to

:09:44. > :09:58.kick-start a rescue act. Lady pee Nepali and Penelope was sidelined

:09:59. > :10:07.but Barmby was the inspiration they needed. Liftoff was very nearly

:10:08. > :10:16.complete when Compton struck the base of the upright. In the end,

:10:17. > :10:24.Plymouth nearly won the game. Hourihane denied by the post. Not a

:10:25. > :10:32.classic. Hartlepool's fans made the day. Portsmouth's season is

:10:33. > :10:38.finishing on a high. There was hope for bury. Hope was desperate to

:10:39. > :10:44.double his tally in the space of 90 minutes. By half-time the home side

:10:45. > :10:50.was two goals to the good. Proctor guided home this shot, Pompey fans

:10:51. > :10:56.wondered while they made the 300 mile trip. 20 cycled all the way

:10:57. > :11:02.raising money for charity. Hollands effort gave them something to cheer.

:11:03. > :11:08.Taylor's shot went past the Can bury keeper to put Portsmouth in

:11:09. > :11:13.touch. Hope made it 4-2 with three minutes left. Pompey had identified

:11:14. > :11:20.the home side's Achilles heel, their long throws causing chaos. Bradley

:11:21. > :11:24.pulled a goal back. The away fans cheers had barely died down before

:11:25. > :11:31.another missile from the sidelines caused outright panic. Fogden made

:11:32. > :11:39.it 4-4. Nothing for either side to play for. Entertainment that would

:11:40. > :11:43.be hard to beat. Talk about finding your form at the right time.

:11:44. > :11:48.Northampton have given themselves every chance of avoiding the drop.

:11:49. > :11:54.Toney put them ahead with his first senior goal. They were two up inside

:11:55. > :11:58.12 minutes. Morris had one of this weekend's most extraordinary

:11:59. > :12:05.efforts. By contrast, Dagenham will end the season with only one win in

:12:06. > :12:13.12 home games. Norris had their best effort. It's current choice Tony who

:12:14. > :12:17.had the better day. The teenager wrapped things up inside the first

:12:18. > :12:21.half. A third win out of five for the Cobblers who go into the final

:12:22. > :12:25.weekend with confidence. We had to make sure today that we didn't let

:12:26. > :12:32.anything stand in our way to get the result that we wanted. We have done

:12:33. > :12:38.that. Torquay arrived in northing hamshire with their fate almost

:12:39. > :12:45.sealed. Mansfield had half an eye on a beach, Dempster's goal came as no

:12:46. > :12:51.great surprise nor did Jennings effort to make it 2-0. There was a

:12:52. > :12:57.nasty challenge on Tonge. As is so often the way, it was the side

:12:58. > :13:01.reduced that scored next, through James Jennings. Scores elsewhere

:13:02. > :13:13.were indicating that Torquay were wing the battle, but losing the

:13:14. > :13:17.wider wall. Coulthirst restored the two goal difference. Proud of my

:13:18. > :13:22.players today. Really good performance. Good footballing

:13:23. > :13:28.performance. Disappointed for them and for the fans, who were

:13:29. > :13:33.magnificent today. Only two wins since Boxing Day had left Morecambe

:13:34. > :13:38.peering towards the relegation places. Just one minute and 52

:13:39. > :13:42.seconds brought four months of tension to an end. Redshaw skipped

:13:43. > :13:47.his way through and made light of the tight angle. Redshaw was at the

:13:48. > :13:54.centre of things again, almost straightaway. Jamie Devitt was

:13:55. > :14:00.ignored by the Wimbledon defence to make it 2-0. This was a day when

:14:01. > :14:06.everything clicked for Morecambe. Brown prevented a third from

:14:07. > :14:10.Ellison. Wimbledon had a steady season after last year's scramble to

:14:11. > :14:15.survival. Their manager believes their fans haven't seen enough from

:14:16. > :14:20.his team. By the tame Moore fouled Fleming, which allowed Amond to get

:14:21. > :14:34.Morecambe's third, many may have seen enough. No sign -- side in

:14:35. > :14:46.League Two had scored less away goals than Wycombe mbe. McClure got

:14:47. > :14:51.the first but this clash was impossible to predict. Mildenhall

:14:52. > :14:54.was in sparkling form. Saving in the midst of a heavily

:14:55. > :15:00.was in sparkling form. Saving in the You sensed the next goal could be

:15:01. > :15:03.decisive. The Pirate fans went crazy when Clarkson got the goal that

:15:04. > :15:10.could keep his side in league football next season. Really pleased

:15:11. > :15:20.with the three points. Destiny is in our own hands. There is plenty of

:15:21. > :15:25.work to do. I can't see why we can't escape again. Wycombe's 21 year stay

:15:26. > :15:30.in the Football League hanging by a thread. Congratulations to sun

:15:31. > :15:37.tloerp and Rochdale celebrating promotion. It might be Wilcock's

:15:38. > :15:43.first defeat in 29 games it won't matter much to him? No. Not after

:15:44. > :15:47.what they achieved. After the situation he inherited. He will take

:15:48. > :15:52.that. That was Exeter getting themselves a rare home win after a

:15:53. > :15:57.disappointing campaign at St James' Park. Rochdale, inching closer to

:15:58. > :16:01.their ever piece of silverware, interestingly enough? Can they win

:16:02. > :16:06.it? They have been promoted out of this division. Took a long time to

:16:07. > :16:08.do it. Like London buses. That is right. A couple of promotions come

:16:09. > :16:19.along. They will be pleased. As for Wycombe's predicament at the

:16:20. > :16:23.bottom, their last four games have been against sides around them at

:16:24. > :16:29.the bottom of the table. That sequence of results has almost put

:16:30. > :16:33.paid to them. They were one of the less likely teams to get relegated

:16:34. > :16:37.before those games. They have not picked up the results the others

:16:38. > :16:44.have. It looks like a precarious position now. They have taken the

:16:45. > :16:50.place of Northampton in the relegation zone. I got a tweet from

:16:51. > :16:53.a flabbergasted Northampton fan. Starting with an 18-year-old

:16:54. > :17:04.upfront, what is going to happen to us? Ivan Toney with two goals in the

:17:05. > :17:08.second, great finish. Those are the decisions that the manager gets paid

:17:09. > :17:15.to make and if they work out, then so far, so good. That was a good win

:17:16. > :17:21.for them. Let's see where that leaves Northampton, they are out of

:17:22. > :17:26.the relegation zone now. When Chris Wilder went there he was given

:17:27. > :17:33.assurances that he would be able to bring in players, but no players in,

:17:34. > :17:40.in January, and he's just about able to keep their heads above water.

:17:41. > :17:45.These are the fixtures against his former employees. He left them in

:17:46. > :17:52.pretty decent nick. It has not worked out for Oxford. He's going

:17:53. > :17:56.back to his old club. And Wycombe against Torquay could be about who

:17:57. > :17:59.finishes bottom of the division. Just looking at the top half of the

:18:00. > :18:07.table. Chesterfield could seal promotion on Sunday with a win on

:18:08. > :18:16.Sunday. And five wins out of seven for Southend, great turnaround under

:18:17. > :18:20.Phil Brown at Roots Hall. Well that's your lot from us. But don't

:18:21. > :18:22.forget, MOTD2 rounds up all the weekend's Premier League action,

:18:23. > :18:25.including the best of Sunday's potential title decider between

:18:26. > :18:29.Liverpool and Chelsea on Sunday night at 10.25 on BBC One. And Late

:18:30. > :18:32.Kick Off is back on Monday night with all the latest from the

:18:33. > :18:36.Football League clubs in your region at 11.25 also on One. My thanks to

:18:37. > :18:39.Steve. Hope to see you next Saturday for a dramatic final day of the

:18:40. > :19:28.regular Football League season. Have a great week. Goodnight.

:19:29. > :19:32.BBC Radio 5 live is where news comes to life.

:19:33. > :19:36.And next week on 5 live Breakfast, we're travelling across the UK

:19:37. > :19:39.to explore the stories that matter to you...
