:00:35. > :00:37.With the Skybet Football League season barely two months old, the

:00:38. > :00:40.managerial merry-go-round almost came off its hinges this week as

:00:41. > :00:44.three more left their posts - with Felix Magath, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

:00:45. > :00:48.and Micky Adams all parting company from their clubs on Thursday.

:00:49. > :00:50.And that means a staggering nine managers have gone since the

:00:51. > :00:55.start of the season - compared to just one this time 12 months ago.

:00:56. > :00:57.Well, I'll be getting Dave Kitson and

:00:58. > :01:00.Leroy Rosenior's views on that, plus the fall-out from Saturday's games.

:01:01. > :01:07.Unbeaten in seven and top of the League - Stuart Pearce has

:01:08. > :01:10.enjoyed a dream start in charge at Nottingham Forest.

:01:11. > :01:18.We'll find out how his side got on against Millwall at the Den.

:01:19. > :01:21.With Oscar Garcia now out of hospital, could his Watford team

:01:22. > :01:25.help aid his recovery with a fifth win in six against Bournemouth?

:01:26. > :01:28.we've the best of the action from Saturday's early kick game

:01:29. > :01:34.We have another 91 goals for you to enjoy, including

:01:35. > :01:44.a nine-goal thriller from Sixfields as Northampton met Accrington.

:01:45. > :01:47.And as the two newly promoted clubs from the Conference go head-to-head,

:01:48. > :01:50.I'm at the Abbey Stadium to assess the mood at Cambridge United

:01:51. > :01:59.Well, after an impressive recruitment drive in the summer,

:02:00. > :02:02.Stuart Pearce's return to Nottingham Forest has got off to a flier.

:02:03. > :02:05.They registered their fifth win in seven on Tuesday night,

:02:06. > :02:08.with Britt Assombalonga netting a hat-trick against Fulham.

:02:09. > :02:10.So could they extend their unbeaten start to eight,

:02:11. > :02:14.away to Millwall - with the Lions having lost their way after

:02:15. > :02:24.Watching this one for us, Paul Walker.

:02:25. > :02:31.Ten years on from the passing of Brian Clough, one of his former

:02:32. > :02:36.students insists his legacy lives on. Stuart Pearce's flying start as

:02:37. > :02:40.Forest manager would surely have the Green jump and genius nodding in

:02:41. > :02:45.approval. Today, they look to carry on their unbeaten side, against

:02:46. > :02:49.Millwall side who have faded recently. Ian Holloway makes four

:02:50. > :03:00.changes to the side that lost at Reading in the week.

:03:01. > :03:09.Forest make two changes from their 5-3 win against Fulham. Wilson comes

:03:10. > :03:14.in at centre-half, von -- Vorm starts. Britt Assombalonga looks to

:03:15. > :03:25.continue his scoring streak. He has eight in his last seven.

:03:26. > :03:33.A lovely first touch to gather it is, Antonio. Just wide. Forest

:03:34. > :03:38.looking to set out their stall early. He is high on confidence

:03:39. > :03:41.right now. The ball lifted forward. It is a great take from Antonio. He

:03:42. > :03:52.drags it wide of the post. Antonio trying to get this ball

:03:53. > :03:57.under control. Assombalonga is there. Ends up in a heap, the Forest

:03:58. > :04:03.striker. A free kick is given his way.

:04:04. > :04:15.It may be Lansbury with a shot. The flag was up as well. The flag was

:04:16. > :04:20.up. It was right where Assombalonga would have wanted that, plum, bank

:04:21. > :04:27.Centre on his forehead. He had strayed offside.

:04:28. > :04:40.Williams, sends it high towards Ranegie. Sent in by Upson, it is

:04:41. > :04:48.deep, sent away by Darlow. Woolford. He had a clear fight at goal. --

:04:49. > :04:55.sight at goal. He could not hit the target with him. Darlow flicks it

:04:56. > :04:57.away. It is a good first touch from Woolford. He got his angles wrong. A

:04:58. > :05:17.real let off for Forest. Another hand ball. I am not so sure

:05:18. > :05:25.that was. In all honesty. Williams with the free kick. I great save,

:05:26. > :05:30.Darlow, he can't turn it home. It is the closest we have come to a goal

:05:31. > :05:34.in this game without question, and Karl Darlow comes up big for

:05:35. > :05:41.Nottingham Forest. In it goes. Ranegie steered it goalwards. It was

:05:42. > :05:48.close to opening his account. A very good stop from Darlow.

:05:49. > :06:06.He shakes of Danny Fox. He has made his point, Ricardo Fuller. Ricardo

:06:07. > :06:24.Fuller did not like Fox's challenge. Beevers was the target, just wide.

:06:25. > :06:33.He almost scored in four successive games, Beevers. He just plans his

:06:34. > :06:40.header wide of the target. He showed great desire to win it. It is put

:06:41. > :06:47.Millwall on the attack. McDonald, running around the back. He had to

:06:48. > :06:54.get there. Now it is Forest's term. The game livening up in the last few

:06:55. > :07:01.minutes. Three waiting for a cross, still with Burke. Antonio was there.

:07:02. > :07:08.Assombalonga, cleared off the line by Dunne undertaken by Forde. He has

:07:09. > :07:13.been taken -- quiet all day, Assombalonga. On another day, he

:07:14. > :07:19.might have gobbled that up. Burke does well, heads for the bar line.

:07:20. > :07:24.Overhit the cross slightly, sent in by Paterson. Assombalonga could not

:07:25. > :07:28.generate enough power to add to his recent scoring streak. The cutting

:07:29. > :07:36.edge of football is goals and not many against. We are level now.

:07:37. > :07:40.Today, I needed an out and out finisher, to make the difference.

:07:41. > :07:45.Then I would be buzzing. We would be only three points off the top of the

:07:46. > :07:49.league instead of seven. That makes all the difference. We have kept a

:07:50. > :07:53.clean sheet. We always expect us to score. It is the first time this

:07:54. > :07:58.season we haven't. We are disappointed. In the mind in the run

:07:59. > :08:03.of play 90 minutes I am pleased with the contribution my team put in and

:08:04. > :08:09.the Championship is a long, hard season. You have to show character

:08:10. > :08:14.and we have done. In many ways it was a shame, two sides that can play

:08:15. > :08:18.attacking football but it never lived up to its billing. It got off

:08:19. > :08:23.to a good start. Antonio looked lively until there was an injury to

:08:24. > :08:27.Edwards and it bizarrely changed the game. That was the cue for a whole

:08:28. > :08:31.host of injuries that curtailed the flow of the game. Without that,

:08:32. > :08:36.Forest could have won. But they did not get into their stride. I think

:08:37. > :08:41.you are right. Ian Holloway will be a bit disappointed because you need

:08:42. > :08:44.to do a job when Forest play like they are. They score five in

:08:45. > :08:51.midweek. Millwall did a terrific job. He touched on it, they had the

:08:52. > :08:54.opportunities to edge the game. You are playing against the league

:08:55. > :08:59.leaders, scoring goals left, right and centre. He restricted them to

:09:00. > :09:03.not too many opportunities. You have done your job. Towards the end of

:09:04. > :09:15.the game, Millwall had the better opportunities. This is why Woolford

:09:16. > :09:22.does well. He will be disappointed. Players trying to close him down.

:09:23. > :09:29.This is the reaction from Ranegie. Darlow makes a terrific save. This

:09:30. > :09:32.one is Beevers, always a difficult header when you are running

:09:33. > :09:37.backwards and under pressure from the Forest Centre has. From

:09:38. > :09:41.Assombalonga, a totally different 90 minutes from the one on Wednesday.

:09:42. > :09:48.He was well shackled throughout. This one summed up his day. He

:09:49. > :09:57.missed the stadium with that chance. That summed up Assombalonga's day,

:09:58. > :10:01.and Forest's. Taking into account how Forest started, he has hit the

:10:02. > :10:05.ground running, the new manager? Stuart Pearce is a popular

:10:06. > :10:10.appointment, he has an extended honeymoon period. The fact he has

:10:11. > :10:14.hit the ground running, it only helps the whole situation. It is not

:10:15. > :10:20.a coincidence, all of those things are putting Forest at the top. Where

:10:21. > :10:23.he has been Smarties he has let a couple of players go, loaned them

:10:24. > :10:27.back and reinvested the money, bought in Assombalonga. Really smart

:10:28. > :10:31.management and they deserve to be where they are. He will not get

:10:32. > :10:36.anywhere just being popular. Hard work will get him to where he wants

:10:37. > :10:40.to be. They have quality but today, I saw aside where the point could be

:10:41. > :10:46.massively important. Roll up your sleeves when you are not playing so

:10:47. > :10:50.well, that is what we'll get them where they want to be.

:10:51. > :10:53.Well like Forest, Watford have also started the new season in good form.

:10:54. > :10:55.A Matej Vydra penalty in midweek was enough to reinforce

:10:56. > :10:59.But it also saw captain Troy Deeney ruled out for several weeks.

:11:00. > :11:01.Manager Oscar Garcia was once again missing from the dug-out

:11:02. > :11:04.for the visit of Bournemouth, as he continues to recover from illness.

:11:05. > :11:06.There were three changes to the Watford line-up,

:11:07. > :11:08.with Gabriel Tamas, Sean Murray and Lloyd Dyer coming in.

:11:09. > :11:10.Eddie Howe also made three changes, including a debut

:11:11. > :11:14.Assistant Ruben Martinez leads the team out in his absence.

:11:15. > :11:31.A poor pass from the Hungarian. One for Wilson to chase. Look at his

:11:32. > :11:38.pace, already troubling the Watford defence. A penalty! Conceded by

:11:39. > :11:44.Tamas. A penalty for Bournemouth, after just three minutes. One or two

:11:45. > :11:48.questioning looks towards the referee, Oliver Langford. Look at

:11:49. > :11:53.the ground Wilson makes up on Tamas. I don't think there was any question

:11:54. > :12:01.Tamas made significant contact with Wilson inside the penalty area. An

:12:02. > :12:06.opportunity now for Ian Harte to/ Bournemouth into an early lead. --

:12:07. > :12:11.to put Bournemouth into an early lead. Up against Gomes. Oh, he has

:12:12. > :12:19.missed it. And missed it by a measure.

:12:20. > :12:28.A poor pass from Tamas. This is going to open up for Callum Wilson.

:12:29. > :12:40.He wants the early ball into the box. I mistake there. Not punished.

:12:41. > :12:45.It has been an uncomfortable start to the game for Tamas, the Romanian

:12:46. > :12:51.international defender. Here is Dyer's Ross, just out of the reach

:12:52. > :12:57.of Vydra. What a cracking game! Super ball in from Lloyd Dyer. Just

:12:58. > :13:02.under the reach of Vydra. The assistant Watford manager Ruben

:13:03. > :13:07.Martinez, deputising for Oscar Garcia, following his recent trouble

:13:08. > :13:15.with chest pains. Lots of room now Archer -- for Arter. A good run from

:13:16. > :13:23.the fullback, France's. An excellent cross, a fine save by Gomes to deny

:13:24. > :13:38.Wilson. Wilson must think he scored there. And Gomes denies him.

:13:39. > :13:47.He can't find a way through, a hurried clearance and desist Surman.

:13:48. > :13:55.Good save, Gomes, Wilson, goal! Well, it won't count for Wilson,

:13:56. > :14:00.owing to the flag from the assistant on the far side. Surman draws an

:14:01. > :14:10.excellent save out of Gomes. That would have counted.

:14:11. > :14:23.Space for Arter. Struck it well! Very well! You don't save those. It

:14:24. > :14:36.is quite magnificent, from Harry Arter.

:14:37. > :14:42.Only one thing on his mind, and is glorious. An early contender for

:14:43. > :14:44.goal of the season. A sensational goal from the left foot of Harry

:14:45. > :15:10.Arter. An excellent pass. Tumbles under the

:15:11. > :15:15.challenge from Francis. The referee says no penalty. It has enraged the

:15:16. > :15:18.watchful -- Watford faithful and players by awarding a free kick. He

:15:19. > :15:42.had claims for a penalty here. Work to do for Cook. Cathcart! 1-1.

:15:43. > :15:47.How about that for a finish for a central defender? That is a tidy

:15:48. > :15:59.volley, which any striker would have been proud of.

:16:00. > :16:15.Superb challenge. End to end football. Oh, it's a handball.

:16:16. > :16:19.Surely, that's going to be a booking for Forestieri. Lovely cutback for

:16:20. > :16:28.Vydra. That's a handball from Forestieri.

:16:29. > :16:42.Tozser. Calmly down by Francis. Very steady came at right back for

:16:43. > :16:48.Bournemouth. Forestieri, oh, it's weak.

:16:49. > :16:59.Honours even. I think, just about a fair scoreline in the end. We were

:17:00. > :17:04.unlucky. One at their own shots at goal where we have been quite good

:17:05. > :17:07.on the counter-attack and created numerous opportunities. It's a

:17:08. > :17:11.difficult one to take. What we have to do is keep per performing as we

:17:12. > :17:17.are and stick to our principles. It will turn. This is not easy. We are

:17:18. > :17:24.only working with them two weeks, with the problems that everybody

:17:25. > :17:29.know. Then I think when he comes back everything will be great.

:17:30. > :17:34.Honours even after 90 minutes. Leroy, was that about right? It

:17:35. > :17:38.wasn't. Bournemouth, fantastic away performance. They controlled the

:17:39. > :17:42.game for the last period. I didn't think Watford turned out in the

:17:43. > :17:46.first period. Without Deeney in the side, Dyer came in, a different

:17:47. > :17:50.approach to the game. Bournemouth passed really well. Good positions.

:17:51. > :17:57.Quality in the last third let them down. When they got their noses in

:17:58. > :18:05.front they should have gone on won. Watford got lucky. Top quality

:18:06. > :18:10.goals. Wonderful strike. The pace that beat the goalkeeper more than

:18:11. > :18:14.anything else. 25-30-yards out. Wonderful strike. You thought

:18:15. > :18:19.Bournemouth were in control playing on the counter-attack. Cathcart, on

:18:20. > :18:23.his weaker foot, comes up with that fantastic volley. Textbook. He just

:18:24. > :18:26.waits. He doesn't worry about the defender closing him down, which

:18:27. > :18:28.puts a lot of people off. Some people would snatch. You see it

:18:29. > :18:37.flying over the crossbar. He doesn't. Catches it superb. Unlikely

:18:38. > :18:44.source of goals if there was one. Bournemouth got a penalty. No

:18:45. > :18:47.dispute about the decision? He gets outmuscled here. He wants to react.

:18:48. > :18:52.He wants to get the retaliation in early. He catches Wilson in the

:18:53. > :18:58.back. It is a penalty. It's in the box. Should he have been sent off?

:18:59. > :19:03.Was there a covering defender. When he took this penalty I said - he

:19:04. > :19:07.never misses and he proved me absolutely wrong. There was an

:19:08. > :19:11.argument before the penalty was taken. He took responsibility. On

:19:12. > :19:19.this occasion, it didn't work out for him. No win in six for

:19:20. > :19:24.Bournemouth. Eddedy says he wants - Eddie says he wants to play

:19:25. > :19:27.football. He is great for the purests. It's important to get the

:19:28. > :19:31.points on the board when all the conditions are in your favour. Good

:19:32. > :19:35.pitches. You know, fair weather. If you don't, you really leave yourself

:19:36. > :19:41.with a lot to do, come the winter, when the pitch is cutup. It makes it

:19:42. > :19:45.so much harder. OK. We are hearing reports that Oscar Garcia is getting

:19:46. > :19:47.better. We wish him a speedy recovery.

:19:48. > :19:49.Five more games coming up from the Championship now,

:19:50. > :19:51.starting with Norwich, who swept aside Brentford on Tuesday night.

:19:52. > :19:54.The 3-0 win was already the fifth game in which they'd scored

:19:55. > :20:04.On Saturday, the free-scoring Canaries were at home to Birmingham.

:20:05. > :20:09.The locals at Carrow Road must have been anticipating another goal fest

:20:10. > :20:13.against a Birmingham team who carried on struggling after their

:20:14. > :20:21.great escape last season. It's dangerous to assume anything in the

:20:22. > :20:30.Championship as Michael Turner's deflection squirmed a Reilly effort

:20:31. > :20:34.past Ruddy. Davis found Ruddy in more impressive action here. Lee

:20:35. > :20:46.Clark's men do better when not playing at Saint Andrews. Gray

:20:47. > :20:50.enhanced his growing reputation. Norwich manager Neil Adams could

:20:51. > :20:55.have rehashed the team talk he used at Cardiff last week when his team

:20:56. > :21:00.turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 win. Maybe he did. Jerome quickly halved

:21:01. > :21:06.the arrears against one of his former clubs. Redmond helped him to

:21:07. > :21:10.do more damage, three minutes later, with his sixth goal in five games to

:21:11. > :21:19.complete another Canaries comeback. That was where it ended this time.

:21:20. > :21:24.Great character. We want to make sure we are ahead and we don't have

:21:25. > :21:28.to do that too often. The players did well to roll their sleeves up

:21:29. > :21:32.and get any negative thoughts out of their mind and get something from

:21:33. > :21:41.the game, which we did. After a home defeat the last place you want to

:21:42. > :21:48.come to is Norwich City. Tremendous support and great team. I think we

:21:49. > :21:52.did well. Bolton arrived looking to build on their victory against

:21:53. > :21:59.Rotherham. Without an away point all season, facing a Wolves side who won

:22:00. > :22:05.their last seven matches at home. This drive would have given Bolton

:22:06. > :22:14.some improve am. This attempt was dropped for Dicko, he went down

:22:15. > :22:23.under the challenge. The penalty challenge was turned down. Dicko

:22:24. > :22:34.scored. Bolton brought in Garvan on a three-month loan spell. Eshould

:22:35. > :22:37.have equalised -- Garvan. Ikeme preserved the scoreline with the

:22:38. > :22:41.all-important save. The Wolves keeper was at his best to prevent a

:22:42. > :22:46.way back for Bolton. They sit outside the bottom three with a

:22:47. > :22:51.manager under increasing pressure. For his opposite number, Kenny

:22:52. > :22:53.Jackett, plenty of postives. He is a good goalkeeper, particularly in the

:22:54. > :22:56.second-half we needed him. From our point of view, we should have been

:22:57. > :23:01.out of sight by then. It's been something we have done. Credit to

:23:02. > :23:11.Bolton. They kept going. Certainly, in that last half an hour they

:23:12. > :23:14.looked strong. I felt we regrouped, our moment came we had a penalty,

:23:15. > :23:24.missed the penalty. That changed the game. New Year's Day 1983 was the

:23:25. > :23:27.last time Rotherham and Charlton met in a competitive fixture. Charlton

:23:28. > :23:34.had not lost in the League this season. It took them less than half

:23:35. > :23:42.an hour to go in front. Berg Gudmundsson scoring his first goal.

:23:43. > :23:49.Goal for his new club. Charlton found themselves under pressure from

:23:50. > :23:55.Rotherham. The home side thought they had equalised when Barry was at

:23:56. > :24:01.the back post. Becchio spent 18 frustrating Mons months at Norwich

:24:02. > :24:04.before his loan move to the Millers his 20-month wait for a goal ended

:24:05. > :24:09.with 20 minutes remaining. -- months. Rotherham felt he they

:24:10. > :24:14.should have had the opportunity to win the game late Their claim for

:24:15. > :24:24.on. Handball was turned down by the referee. Both sides pressed for a

:24:25. > :24:30.winner in the closing minutes. Loach recovered to deny Charlton a goal.

:24:31. > :24:36.Frecklington came close to deciding it in injury-time. Charlotton's

:24:37. > :24:40.unbeaten record stays intact, but not without concern for their

:24:41. > :24:46.manager. The way we played, first half, yeah, we should have won it.

:24:47. > :24:50.But, OK, credit to them. They came back physically second-half. We got

:24:51. > :24:54.a point. First and foremost, we don't take the chances we created in

:24:55. > :24:58.the second-half. It's the Football League Show. Look at the penalty

:24:59. > :25:02.that isn't given. We had a similar situation midweek in Bolton. It's

:25:03. > :25:11.proving that we don't get these decisions. Sheffield Wednesday are

:25:12. > :25:14.developing into one of the real success stories this season. Their

:25:15. > :25:19.fans had to travel far and wide to enjoy the best of it. They entered

:25:20. > :25:27.the weekend, unbeaten away, but winless at Hillsborough. Glenn

:25:28. > :25:37.Murray was presented with a chanceful keeping that run going. He

:25:38. > :25:43.hadn't counted Westwood. Cooper was also denied. 24-hours after the club

:25:44. > :25:47.were taken over by a Thai consortium it was turning into one of those

:25:48. > :25:52.days for Reading and Murray in particular. Adkins must have failed

:25:53. > :26:00.his team would pay a price for wastefulness. Wednesday did offer a

:26:01. > :26:06.threat. May couldn't test Andersen. May would provide the game's

:26:07. > :26:14.decisive moment thanks to a deflection. The winning margin could

:26:15. > :26:20.have been larger, but Pearce's slight of hand went unpunished. The

:26:21. > :26:24.Owls replace the Royals in the Top Six. I just knew at half-time,

:26:25. > :26:29.kicking towards our own fans, we could get a head of steam. We got

:26:30. > :26:31.them on the back foot. I was worried about getting done on the

:26:32. > :26:36.counter-attack. I think we deserved the win in the end. After two

:26:37. > :26:41.straight Championship victories, Middlesbrough are starting to show

:26:42. > :26:45.some form and Leadbitter is in the form of his life. A week earlier he

:26:46. > :26:50.scored twice against Huddersfield Town. He took his tally to seven in

:26:51. > :26:54.eight games and can do little wrong. Brentford with no answer. More

:26:55. > :27:03.problems for the visitors when they conceded again. This time Adomah

:27:04. > :27:09.punished their opponents. Brentford won their last two on their

:27:10. > :27:15.travellers. Konstantopoulos wasn't to be beaten. Bamford is enjoying

:27:16. > :27:19.his latest loan spell. A first home goal, on a first home start for

:27:20. > :27:26.frontman who seems to score where ever he goes. The one negative,

:27:27. > :27:29.Whitehead's challenge on Judge, which saw the Middlesbrough man red

:27:30. > :27:35.carded. Not that it seemed to affect them. Down to 10, but still on the

:27:36. > :27:57.front foot, in an impressive showing. Brentford were swept aside.

:27:58. > :28:02.Today we showed everybody we are a very good team. The better team won.

:28:03. > :28:07.We lacked quality. Gave the ball away in key areas. At this level we

:28:08. > :28:13.know we will get punished. We set high standards. Today we fell below

:28:14. > :28:17.that standard. Four great goals from Middlesbrough another belter from

:28:18. > :28:21.Grant Leadbitter. Steve Evans said we will talk with about the penalty

:28:22. > :28:26.that wasn't for Rotherham. But was it? Well, I think Steve said it was

:28:27. > :28:30.a blatant penalty. I watched this 10 times. If I was a ref veil, having

:28:31. > :28:35.seen that once I wouldn't have given it. We were undecided watching it

:28:36. > :28:39.back a few times. We have seen it, for me it doesn't look like a

:28:40. > :28:43.penalty. You shouldn't rely on penalties to win your games. For me,

:28:44. > :28:47.that is not a penalty. Middlesbrough, three wins in the

:28:48. > :28:54.last eight days. You know, after a steady start, there is no doubt the

:28:55. > :28:59.look of promotional credentials about them? They have added to the

:29:00. > :29:04.team. They have the components which make them more of a solid unit. They

:29:05. > :29:07.are pretty strong at the back. They look great going forward and scored

:29:08. > :29:16.four goals today. In the middle of the park, Whitehead gets them going

:29:17. > :29:20.forward. He allows the front players to do his thing. He was over

:29:21. > :29:27.committed today he got sent off. Before that he was having a good

:29:28. > :29:31.game. Yeah. One or two people might not have expected to see these two

:29:32. > :29:34.clubs up there, Wolves have continued that rear-guard they

:29:35. > :29:38.showed in League One. They carried it over into the Championship?

:29:39. > :29:42.Conceded three goals in eight games. Best record in the Football League

:29:43. > :29:48.defensively. They kept a couple of very important players at the back.

:29:49. > :29:54.The centre halves. He saved the penalty. He did. Consistent part of.

:29:55. > :29:59.Really it shouldn't have been a surprise. What about Sheffield

:30:00. > :30:02.Wednesday. They are up there too. After their seventh clean sheet of

:30:03. > :30:07.the season already against your old club, Reading. You played under

:30:08. > :30:11.Stuart Grey, you are not surprised to see him doing well? That is

:30:12. > :30:16.right. He was a coach when I was at Portsmouth. Without doubt the best

:30:17. > :30:19.coach I have worked with. Most players in the game who work with

:30:20. > :30:22.him will say similar things about him he wanted to get back into

:30:23. > :30:26.management. Waiting for the right job to come along. He had a crack at

:30:27. > :30:32.Sheffield Wednesday. It is working out well. No surprise to me. What

:30:33. > :30:35.was it about him that was so good? ? The sessions were enjoyable. It was

:30:36. > :30:39.the right session at the right time and keep the lads buzzing and

:30:40. > :30:46.walking off the training pitch, but wanting more. That is is an art. A

:30:47. > :30:49.hard skill. It seems to be doing the trick at Hillsborough.

:30:50. > :30:52.As for the rest of the Championship, it appears pre-season promotion

:30:53. > :30:55.favourites Fulham finally ran out of patience with manager Felix Magath.

:30:56. > :30:57.The German was sacked on Thursday, having taken just one point

:30:58. > :31:01.So how would the players respond against Blackburn, after a turbulent

:31:02. > :31:18.few months for Fulham fans? Felix Magath was never a full sort of

:31:19. > :31:23.manager. That was a mistake waiting to happen. -- Fulham sort of

:31:24. > :31:28.manager. It was unfortunately right that Magath had to go. It is

:31:29. > :31:31.worrying, it is getting worse and worse. Hopefully we can bring in

:31:32. > :31:36.someone like Danny Murphy, Glenn Hoddle, and put us where we belong,

:31:37. > :31:41.in the Premier League. This month we have got now played for us in

:31:42. > :31:45.1998-99. I have spoken to him about it. 11 goals he scored from a

:31:46. > :31:48.central defender's position. He should have been appointed at the

:31:49. > :31:52.end of last season without any doubt. The man in question, Kit

:31:53. > :31:56.Symons, who has taken caretaker charge. Even he could not defend

:31:57. > :32:01.Shaun Hutchinson's challenge Lee Williamson on the stroke of

:32:02. > :32:04.half-time. Luckily, Williamson avoided serious injury. Rovers

:32:05. > :32:08.capitalised on their numerical advantage and sought to take control

:32:09. > :32:13.of the match. 30 minutes into the second half they did exactly that,

:32:14. > :32:16.albeit in slightly fortunate circumstances as Jordan Rhodes found

:32:17. > :32:23.himself in the right place to score his fourth goal in five games. Ten

:32:24. > :32:30.man Fulham defended resolutely and had a chance to level the match. In

:32:31. > :32:35.the end, it was a seventh defeat in eight matches. Ella Bob and it was

:32:36. > :32:40.difficult. I enjoyed the experience, the atmosphere that our fans created

:32:41. > :32:43.and everything apart from not getting a result, which was bitterly

:32:44. > :32:50.disappointing but everything else I enjoyed thoroughly. He has done

:32:51. > :32:59.brilliantly you have seen that already. From our point of view we

:33:00. > :33:02.were terrific. It has been a chaotic start the season for both of these

:33:03. > :33:06.West Yorkshire rivals. They dispensed with a manager reach

:33:07. > :33:11.before the end of August. Leeds have since mixed seven points Bradford

:33:12. > :33:18.and the manner of the opening goal from Austin epitomised the team who

:33:19. > :33:24.seem to have sorted themselves out. Darko Milanic is being linked with

:33:25. > :33:30.the Leeds vacancy and he would've been impressed with how Baluchi led

:33:31. > :33:36.the break-out, before Antenucci did the necessary. The champagne

:33:37. > :33:40.football continued to flow in the second half, at Huddersfield were

:33:41. > :33:47.both demoralised and carved open by Austin's vision and a tidy finish

:33:48. > :33:53.from Doukara, who had to make a real effort to ensure he was booked for

:33:54. > :34:01.removing his shirt. Another yellow card arrived soon afterwards.

:34:02. > :34:05.Berardi's systems in ensuring he eventually took down Harry Bunn was

:34:06. > :34:09.his second of the afternoon. The fifth red card in ten matches for

:34:10. > :34:16.Leeds this season and Berardi has taken the long walk twice himself.

:34:17. > :34:22.But even short-handed, Leeds looked the more likely scorers and the

:34:23. > :34:26.irrepressible Antenucci almost deep in the gloom for Chris Powell's men

:34:27. > :34:32.even more. They are a decent team. They have confidence. Really, I just

:34:33. > :34:38.felt it was our own doing, the goals, especially the second one. I

:34:39. > :34:45.have been caretaker, I said I would, it is not a problem. I have

:34:46. > :34:48.done the best I can. The lads have applied themselves really, really

:34:49. > :34:52.well. They have to take great credit. I haven't done myself any

:34:53. > :34:57.harm. But is there as well. Whatever happens happens. The good thing is

:34:58. > :35:08.the club is in a far better position. The 10th anniversary of

:35:09. > :35:11.the passing of one of the greatest characters was remembered. Derby

:35:12. > :35:16.wanted to mark the occasion with a winning performance. Jamie Ward did

:35:17. > :35:23.his best to oblige. Marshall kept him out. Cardiff had their own

:35:24. > :35:27.agenda, two quick second-half goals put them in command. Gunnarson's

:35:28. > :35:34.attempt was just what was required and for a club badly out of form,

:35:35. > :35:38.something positive. Gabbidon and Young had been put in caretaker

:35:39. > :35:43.charge and it got better for them. Whittingham had spent a loan spell

:35:44. > :35:47.at Derby and put one over his old club. His finish was too good for

:35:48. > :35:51.the keeper, Grounds. A difficult week for the Bluebirds looked like

:35:52. > :35:58.ending on a winning note. They could not hold onto a two advantage.

:35:59. > :36:05.Jordan Ibe, his first goal in a Rams shirt. The home pressure paid off on

:36:06. > :36:10.a significant day in the club's history. Bryson's effort went in off

:36:11. > :36:16.the post with less than ten minutes left and Derby have a point. They

:36:17. > :36:18.rarely lose on home territory. It stretched the club's unbeaten run to

:36:19. > :36:29.six games. It has been a tough week. We knew

:36:30. > :36:32.this would be a hard game. But I thought the performance was

:36:33. > :36:39.tremendous and the result could have been better. It is a difficult place

:36:40. > :36:43.to come, for sure. The first half we had problems with being too deep.

:36:44. > :36:49.The shape was good. We rectified it, ten or 15 yards up the pitch. We

:36:50. > :36:57.deservedly went into a 2-0 lead. A good team, good at what they do, and

:36:58. > :37:00.they paid us back. With only a solitary point from

:37:01. > :37:05.their opening seven matches, Blackpool travelled to the south

:37:06. > :37:08.coast looking for their first win of the season. The Seasiders had to

:37:09. > :37:12.withstand a wave of attacks. Brighton's Holla found the

:37:13. > :37:18.goalkeeper and his fellow determinate -- fellow defenders are

:37:19. > :37:21.determined move. Blackpool had only scored away once but having

:37:22. > :37:24.benefited from a slip in the Brighton defence, Miller had a

:37:25. > :37:30.chance to score. But like Lewis at the other end, Stockdale was not

:37:31. > :37:36.prepared to oblige. When you can't score it is important that the

:37:37. > :37:47.opposition doesn't score as well. So that kind of day it is 0-0, but so

:37:48. > :37:54.many corners as well, normally we are very dangerous on the corner

:37:55. > :38:00.kicks and today, we didn't score. The commitment, the collaboration on

:38:01. > :38:07.the pitch was great. Some players did not have position, some

:38:08. > :38:13.strikers, but you know, when the spirit, when this kind of

:38:14. > :38:18.commitment, you can do great things. It is a second point for Blackpool

:38:19. > :38:24.to build upon booked for Brighton, it is worrying. What about Fulham?

:38:25. > :38:29.The losing run continues on Leroy, to Blackburn, who are looking to get

:38:30. > :38:34.consistency going. For Kit Symons, he is at the helm at the minute but

:38:35. > :38:40.was it long overdue, that change was made? I have to be honest, you don't

:38:41. > :38:45.want to see a manager lose his job but when Felix Magath went, I said,

:38:46. > :38:51.at last. I was relieved. It is a club close to my heart and I thought

:38:52. > :38:56.he was ruining it. He has ripped the heart out of the club. I will not

:38:57. > :38:59.blame him for relegation from the Premier League but when you have

:39:00. > :39:03.young players they need experience to work with and to get rid of

:39:04. > :39:07.Stockdale and Hangeland, Sidwell, players who had the club at heart

:39:08. > :39:12.was totally wrong. A manager has gone in for the Championship and

:39:13. > :39:15.knows nothing about it and I hope he hasn't ruined the young players

:39:16. > :39:19.because they were good, young players. They got to the FA youth

:39:20. > :39:22.Cup Final and I hope their development hasn't been hampered by

:39:23. > :39:26.Felix Magath as well. It needed to be done a lot earlier. It has

:39:27. > :39:30.happened now, let's hope that Fulham can get the right manager in place

:39:31. > :39:34.and get experience in and start moving forward because something

:39:35. > :39:38.that was built over a long period of time has been almost torn apart

:39:39. > :39:44.overnight. Magath has to take responsibility. Strong stuff.

:39:45. > :39:52.Cardiff started life post Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and other management

:39:53. > :39:57.change, and came back to 2-2. A strong derby -- a strong Derby

:39:58. > :40:03.side. Making Russell Slade favourite for the job? It is good for Russell

:40:04. > :40:07.Slade, how he has been treated this week has been disgraceful and

:40:08. > :40:14.unnecessary. I hope it does turn out to be the case and he gets a crack

:40:15. > :40:18.at it and does well. What a job Neil Redstone has done at the helm at

:40:19. > :40:22.Leeds. The previous 13 points were taken from a possible 42. It is

:40:23. > :40:28.incredible how he has got them playing and enjoying their football.

:40:29. > :40:35.Scoring goals freely, celebrated, it is a nice atmosphere, whether

:40:36. > :40:41.Redfearn gets the job or not, it will be a nice environment. We await

:40:42. > :40:45.developments, Darko Milanic says he has been approached and we will see

:40:46. > :40:51.how it turns out. Time for League One. What a start for Bristol City.

:40:52. > :40:57.There win on Tuesday opened up a four point leader is top of the

:40:58. > :40:58.table. Earlier, Steve Cotterill's sides faced a testing trip to

:40:59. > :41:13.Fleetwood. After Dobbie's shot was blocked,

:41:14. > :41:18.Morris raised them in front against Bristol City. The Robins had made

:41:19. > :41:22.their best start to a season in over a century and Kieran Agard converted

:41:23. > :41:28.the cross to level the match. Early in the second half, Agard got his

:41:29. > :41:32.second. Luke Freeman and Wade Elliott working a superb short

:41:33. > :41:37.corner and in the ensuing panic Agard put Bristol City in front.

:41:38. > :41:42.Now, the league leaders were in full flow. When the ball came in from the

:41:43. > :41:48.right, Agard's knock-down was put away by Wilbraham is -- by

:41:49. > :41:52.Wilbraham. Eight goals in nine appearances. Bristol City appeared

:41:53. > :41:56.to be heading for a win. Doctor's first touch after stepping off the

:41:57. > :42:02.bench could the deficit just past the deficit just Dobbie had the last

:42:03. > :42:11.word for Fleetwood in the final moments. Dobbie's finish was struck

:42:12. > :42:16.with typical accuracy and belief. I enjoyed the second part of the first

:42:17. > :42:20.half. The first part of the second half, and the other two quarters

:42:21. > :42:27.left in the game I am sure Graham will have enjoyed. Fantastic to get

:42:28. > :42:32.back from 3-1 to 3-3. Both teams have been strong defensively this

:42:33. > :42:37.season. The best defensive record in League One. To get 3-3 was out of

:42:38. > :42:42.the blue for both teams. I was pleased with the character shown by

:42:43. > :42:47.my team and the quality to come back against a team that is definitely

:42:48. > :42:50.going to be up there at the end of the season. Peter Brezovan slipped

:42:51. > :42:53.out of the automatic promotion places that Yeovil after a second

:42:54. > :42:58.successive defeat -- Peter Brussels to play left Somerset talking about

:42:59. > :43:02.the goal that never was. Morrison was convinced his effort crossed the

:43:03. > :43:06.line but the referee saw it differently. Yeovil were looking for

:43:07. > :43:10.their first home win since March the 8th and almost took the lead when

:43:11. > :43:14.this header was tipped onto the woodwork. The home faithful had to

:43:15. > :43:18.wait until the 88th minute for the winner but when it came it was worth

:43:19. > :43:21.it. Grant tiptoeing through the Peterborough Prison defence scored

:43:22. > :43:28.his first of the season and cute wild celebrations. It was like it

:43:29. > :43:32.was used to be, everybody was up and cheering up positive because the

:43:33. > :43:35.lads were putting in a real performance that we know they have

:43:36. > :43:42.got from training, but they haven't showed it here yet.

:43:43. > :43:46.Without a win all the three -- or a goal in the three games before this,

:43:47. > :43:51.Doncaster needed to arrest their slide. Tyson scored, but after seven

:43:52. > :43:54.minutes the hosts were up and running. After promotion,

:43:55. > :44:00.Chesterfield have settled nicely in League One. They were two down when

:44:01. > :44:08.Bennett scored and celebrated his 23rd of the season. Paul Cook's side

:44:09. > :44:16.came from three down to earn a point at Preston. Clucas scored. After the

:44:17. > :44:22.break, Rovers against seized the initiative. Coppinger came within a

:44:23. > :44:26.whisker of his first of the season. The reprieve for the visitors was

:44:27. > :44:32.short lived. From the resulting corner, Coppinger again went close.

:44:33. > :44:37.His header came back and McCombe pounced to restore the two goal

:44:38. > :44:46.advantage. Even so, the pyrites finished strongly. O shape had -- O

:44:47. > :44:52.shape had a shot blocked. That was his 12th of the season. But

:44:53. > :44:58.Doncaster held on to win a league game at home for the first time

:44:59. > :45:03.since March. We have a long -- a lot of young lads in the team. You have

:45:04. > :45:05.to do the basics right and managed the game properly. Delighted with

:45:06. > :45:18.three points. No side in League One have scored

:45:19. > :45:35.more goals than MK Dons. Alli's low finish inside the far-post was pure

:45:36. > :45:49.quality. Crewe got an equaliser. McFadzean got this all wrong. Alli

:45:50. > :45:53.opened up a two goal advantage. There was only going to be one

:45:54. > :46:00.winner. This was turning into a tremendous all round team

:46:01. > :46:10.performance. Afobe displayed pace and power to extend the lead to 4-1.

:46:11. > :46:13.Alli was the star of the show. The teenager, who signed an improved

:46:14. > :46:20.contract in midweek, completing his hat-trick with the goal of the game.

:46:21. > :46:24.In the dying moments, Ben Reeves put away number six. MK Dons had moved

:46:25. > :46:32.into the top two with a display of real class.

:46:33. > :46:37.Bradford haven't lost on their travels this season, but they were

:46:38. > :46:44.lucky to leave Essex with a record intact. This volley and a save from

:46:45. > :46:50.Pickford set the tone. There was nothing the on-loan Sunderland

:46:51. > :46:55.keeper could do it keep out Sears. Derby came to the rescue to round

:46:56. > :46:59.off a satisfying week for the Yorkshire club. Pleased. Four points

:47:00. > :47:04.on the road this week is a good return for us. Would have loved to

:47:05. > :47:08.have won. A clean sheet is not the worst scenario. The lads stuck at

:47:09. > :47:25.the gameplan today and deservedly got the point. Clough Junior's side

:47:26. > :47:29.were unbeaten in six before this. This layoff was perfect for Smith.

:47:30. > :47:35.22-year-old with his first league goal since the opening day of the

:47:36. > :47:39.season. Another powerful run. This time from Luongo led to the second.

:47:40. > :47:44.From the spot, Smith beat keeper Howard for a second time. Swindon,

:47:45. > :47:49.who were held at home midweek, appear to have wrapped up the

:47:50. > :47:58.points, Smith's cutback found Obika. A fourth goal in three games for the

:47:59. > :48:02.former Tottenham trainee. The Blades grabbed victory in midweek. McNulty

:48:03. > :48:10.squeezed through to beat Foderingham. Six minutes later, the

:48:11. > :48:16.prospect of another fightback gained momentum. Davies found the targeting

:48:17. > :48:21.again. If the home fans were shifting uneasily in their seats,

:48:22. > :48:27.they felt more comfortable when Smith's pass was steered past Howard

:48:28. > :48:31.by substitute, Andy Williams. That restored the host's two goal

:48:32. > :48:41.advantage. They were rising to fourth in the table. Kasim left Reid

:48:42. > :48:47.and Collins in his wake. Thompson got Swindon's fifth. As statements

:48:48. > :48:51.go they don't get bigger than that. Five goals against Sheffield United

:48:52. > :48:54.by Swindon with United being one of their pre-season promotion

:48:55. > :48:59.favourites. That is with Mark Cooper playing with his side. Older player

:49:00. > :49:03.in the starting 11 earlier was 24. Yeovil, their home fans. They have

:49:04. > :49:07.been long suffering, haven't they? Finally, they get a win against all

:49:08. > :49:13.the odds? They certainly do. They haven't won there since March. It's

:49:14. > :49:21.a lovely goal. He finishes it really beautifully. In the 88th minute. The

:49:22. > :49:26.tension was lifted for Yeovil. First to get that monkey off your back,

:49:27. > :49:31.not winning so long, against his old club, Peterborough. He will have a

:49:32. > :49:38.smile on his face and give them the lift they needed. Alli at MK Dons,

:49:39. > :49:42.what a prospect, signed an extension to his deal. Senior second hat-trick

:49:43. > :49:47.at 18. He looks a real find this kid. If reports are to be believed

:49:48. > :49:51.he has been linked with the great and good of European football much

:49:52. > :49:55.you can see why. There are flashes here of brilliance. Sails two

:49:56. > :50:01.defenders. Luck under the keeper. Did all the hard work. Looks a real

:50:02. > :50:07.Crewe have concede find. D 21 in their first eight games. I feel for

:50:08. > :50:13.Steve Davis. You think you have turned the corner. You get hit for

:50:14. > :50:16.six. Back to the drawing board for them.

:50:17. > :50:18.Well, despite being threatened with the

:50:19. > :50:21.sack should his side fail to beat Notts County on Tuesday, Russell

:50:22. > :50:24.Slade was still clinging onto his job as the Leyton Orient manager.

:50:25. > :50:29.Could he make the most of the reprieve with a win at Scunthorpe?

:50:30. > :50:39.Leyton Orient were goal difference outside the drop-zone ahead of the

:50:40. > :50:44.weekend. Cuthbert got them off to an excellent start. They had a win over

:50:45. > :50:48.Coventry on Tuesday. After top-scorer Madden was just wide with

:50:49. > :50:53.a volley across goal. They levelled up four minutes into the

:50:54. > :50:59.second-half. Madden make amends for his miss by neatly laying the ball

:51:00. > :51:02.into the path of Matt sparrow. Now it was anybody's game. Leyton

:51:03. > :51:09.Orient's away form has been good so far. Following splendid work out

:51:10. > :51:13.wide from Cox it was one of the summer signings McAnuff who got the

:51:14. > :51:20.winner to take the pressure off the manager, who has been linked with

:51:21. > :51:26.the Cardiff City vacancy. It's nice to be linked with a huge club as

:51:27. > :51:30.Cardiff City. Very proud that they have seen the hard work that we've

:51:31. > :51:36.done at this football club from afar. I respect that massively. What

:51:37. > :51:39.can you say on that? Has there been an approach from Cardiff. Have they

:51:40. > :51:50.held talks with you? In I believe they have. I'm seeking a little bit

:51:51. > :51:54.of clarity right now. For all the excitement surrounding their return

:51:55. > :51:57.to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry's aware form continues to be a worry. They

:51:58. > :52:03.haven't won on the road since the end of March. It wasn't for the want

:52:04. > :52:09.of trying, particularly from Simeon Jackson. Rochdale are on an upward

:52:10. > :52:25.curve with three wins out of four. They wrapped up the points, Allsop

:52:26. > :52:31.tripped a player letting Henderson score, which he did emphatically.

:52:32. > :52:46.After a 4-0 thumping at watch deal, Dean Smith demanded a response.

:52:47. > :52:49.McDonald scored the Kent club a victory over Peterborough in

:52:50. > :52:53.midweek. He missed the target with this effort. Norris was injured as

:52:54. > :53:02.he raced in at the far-post. Goalless.

:53:03. > :53:09.Joe Garner has been in good nick this season. After this header was

:53:10. > :53:14.kept out by Ashdown in the Crawley goal, the Lillywhites took the lead

:53:15. > :53:20.in the next attack. Central defender, Wright, on the end of

:53:21. > :53:25.Brown's side-footed cross. After surrendering a three goal lead on

:53:26. > :53:28.Tuesday, the Preston fans would have been biting their nails when Garner,

:53:29. > :53:34.back defending a free-kick, headed against his own crossbar. You sense

:53:35. > :53:44.they desperately needed another goal. It was gifted to them midway

:53:45. > :53:47.through the second-half. Sadler's handball spotted by the referee and

:53:48. > :54:02.punished by Garner. Both sides arrived at Medo Lane with

:54:03. > :54:05.one defeat since mid August but were left frustrated by what might have

:54:06. > :54:12.been. Goals have been hard to come by for the Magpies. They have scored

:54:13. > :54:22.seven in the league so far. Ismail couldn't find the finish. When

:54:23. > :54:35.Wilkinson was denied by a wonderful, but painful save from Roy Carroll,

:54:36. > :54:40.you can see why. After Micky Adams' resignation Rob Paige took charge of

:54:41. > :54:45.Port Vale. This opener fitted the bill for an improvement. He was

:54:46. > :54:52.celebrating his first goal for Vale. In the second-half, his mood took a

:54:53. > :54:56.downturn when he lent on Hourihane. The referee pointed to the spot.

:54:57. > :55:03.Hourihane hit the corner of the net for his sixth of the season. Six

:55:04. > :55:09.successive defeats have proceeded Adams' departure. Paige made four

:55:10. > :55:19.changes for his first game, including a recall for Jordon Slew.

:55:20. > :55:23.He went down under the slightest contact. The spot-kick was high.

:55:24. > :55:30.Barnsley were closings in on another away draw. They allowed Marshall to

:55:31. > :55:37.twist and turn his way towards goal. He fired home a memorable winner.

:55:38. > :55:40.The players' celebrations mirrored by the interim boss and his

:55:41. > :55:45.Chairman. Over the moon. It's nice to get off to a winning start. I'm

:55:46. > :55:49.proud of the performance the boys put in today. Good win that for Port

:55:50. > :55:53.Vale under the temporary charge of Robert Page stepping in for Micky

:55:54. > :55:57.Adams. We will talk about Vale in a second. Great result for Leyton

:55:58. > :56:01.Orient, wassen it? In the light of what has been going on around

:56:02. > :56:08.Russell Slade recently much he had to go in for talks after the mid win

:56:09. > :56:11.week win. After frank and honest discussion, I'm still in position.

:56:12. > :56:15.Why are we hearing this publicly. It's undignified really, isn't it?

:56:16. > :56:19.That is the word. It's totally unnecessary. If there is a problem

:56:20. > :56:26.between the owner and the manager, it can be dealt with inhouse. It's

:56:27. > :56:30.really worrying for Russell Slade. I'm delighted he got that victory

:56:31. > :56:34.today. That will be a nice feeling. For me, it's just totally

:56:35. > :56:41.unnecessary. I don't know what you think, Leroy, not the done thing? I

:56:42. > :56:46.don't know the word, the club don't know the value of the manager that

:56:47. > :56:53.they have, under their nose. What Russell has done for the club is

:56:54. > :56:56.unbelievable. He was Manager of the Month with Kenny Jackett. The fans

:56:57. > :57:02.recognise what he does for the club and what he can do for the club. You

:57:03. > :57:07.will not win every single week. To give Russell Slade one game to save

:57:08. > :57:10.his job I think is Port Vale are disrespectful. Looking for a new

:57:11. > :57:13.manager after Micky Adams called time after five years and two

:57:14. > :57:18.spells. Almost as if his time came to a natural end in many ways? I

:57:19. > :57:22.couldn't have put it better. Micky did a wonderful job. I remember him

:57:23. > :57:25.saying - I won't scout the other teams, we haven't money to do that.

:57:26. > :57:29.When you are working under those sorts of restrictions it does take

:57:30. > :57:35.its toll on you. When you have great relationships with people when you

:57:36. > :57:39.are in that sort of situation. He may take it personal not winning are

:57:40. > :57:40.for six games. For him it might be the right time. He will be back

:57:41. > :57:43.though. Despite losing at home to

:57:44. > :57:46.Exeter City during the week, Cambridge United have been adjusting

:57:47. > :57:49.well to life back in the Football Clem was at the Abbey Stadium

:57:50. > :57:53.on Saturday as the U's welcomed another club newly promoted

:57:54. > :58:05.from the Conference - Luton Town. Cambridge. Home to one of the

:58:06. > :58:10.world's top five universities. The heartland of the UK's software and

:58:11. > :58:17.bio science industries. And, widely regarded as the birthplace of modern

:58:18. > :58:22.football. It was right h that the first ever game was played under FA

:58:23. > :58:29.rules. As for the city's football club - Cambridge United first joined

:58:30. > :58:35.the Football League in 1970 at Bradford Park Avenue's expense. In

:58:36. > :58:39.1992 they nearly achieved a third successive promotion. That would

:58:40. > :58:43.have made them inaugural members of the Premier League. With a certain

:58:44. > :58:49.Steve Claridge in their team - now whatever happened to him!

:58:50. > :58:57.But in 2005 their world fell apart. Blighted by financial problems they

:58:58. > :59:03.succumbed to the clutches of the Conference. 25 former Conference

:59:04. > :59:07.teams in the Football League, 13 have gone the other way. Is that

:59:08. > :59:11.promotion relegation into non-league something more clubs will have to

:59:12. > :59:15.get used to? I think so. What we found is that dropping out of the

:59:16. > :59:21.League into the Conference is the tough bit. No doubt about that.

:59:22. > :59:25.Everybody has found it tough. And, thus far, coming back up, quite a

:59:26. > :59:32.number of the clubs have been able to push on again. But I think we're

:59:33. > :59:37.finding, and probably our opponents today are finding, the league is a

:59:38. > :59:43.tough league. Cambridge, as regards England, is probably as good as it

:59:44. > :59:46.gets. I also think as well, with the university and, you know, it is

:59:47. > :59:50.world reknowned there is a lot of people that come to Cambridge

:59:51. > :59:55.University that still, you know, look out for our results and make

:59:56. > :00:00.that perfectly clear. So I think you have an affiliation once you have

:00:01. > :00:06.been to Cambridge University we have supporters around the world that we

:00:07. > :00:10.don't know about. It's made up 13 individual colleges. We did work

:00:11. > :00:15.with the football team. Coached the Blues team. We have started to work

:00:16. > :00:20.a lot more with the university at different levels. I tell you what,

:00:21. > :00:24.there would be big hitters if you got them on board. If they work for

:00:25. > :00:26.you, end up Prime Minister or running giant corporations Some of

:00:27. > :00:31.the things you have to organise. They might be the brightest people

:00:32. > :00:34.in the country. To get them organised on a football pitch is a

:00:35. > :00:38.challenge. You think - future Prime Ministers and leaders of industry

:00:39. > :00:42.there. Hopefully, in the future, if we do that and build those links it

:00:43. > :00:44.will be of big benefit to the club. I think this club has the

:00:45. > :00:48.capabilities to go up another league. It might take three or four

:00:49. > :00:51.years to do it. Our opponents can definitely go up another league.

:00:52. > :00:58.They are capable of doing it this year. I think.

:00:59. > :01:04.All the early intent and intensity came from Cambridge and Donaldson in

:01:05. > :01:10.particular, who deserved more than seeing Elliott ping one. Donaldson

:01:11. > :01:14.was quickly providing dangerous deliveries again, that neither

:01:15. > :01:19.Simpson nor Elliott could shovel their side ahead. The turning point

:01:20. > :01:23.arrived just after half-time. Naylor's challenge on Stephenson has

:01:24. > :01:27.to be considered reckless. Although the Cambridge management had to wait

:01:28. > :01:33.for the verdict, they could have few complaints that the Derby's lonely

:01:34. > :01:38.debut at ended prematurely. Despite the scrappy nature of the general

:01:39. > :01:42.play, the onus was on Luton to search for the winner and Ruddock

:01:43. > :01:48.almost delivered it. But he had a major role in the match's only goal,

:01:49. > :01:52.as he teased the challenge out of Tait. Mark Cullen took the

:01:53. > :01:56.responsibility and made the most of a favourable rebound from Chris

:01:57. > :02:11.Dunn. It was a feisty encounter, let's

:02:12. > :02:16.deal with that. It is what you expect, a local derby, two teams who

:02:17. > :02:26.know each other really well, no quarter given. It was a good game. I

:02:27. > :02:30.think 11 versus 11, we are by a long way the best team, then obviously

:02:31. > :02:36.the sending off makes life difficult but I still thought that we did

:02:37. > :02:41.enough to probably hang out for 0-0. Not the best few days for Cambridge

:02:42. > :02:45.United after the defeat to Exeter, but what have you made, it is where

:02:46. > :02:49.you started your career, what have you made of the start they have

:02:50. > :02:54.achieved? It has been pretty solid. They have been away for nine years.

:02:55. > :02:58.A lot has happened in that time. They have assembled a good squad,

:02:59. > :03:03.young, hungry players, and they are having a real go. They are scoring

:03:04. > :03:06.freely, letting in more than they would like, but they will be OK.

:03:07. > :03:12.Seeing those pictures brought back memories for you? Yes, some dodgy

:03:13. > :03:17.pictures of me in the tunnel! I had some great years there and it was

:03:18. > :03:22.good, a great experience. It is the perfect club for a young player to

:03:23. > :03:27.learn their trade and they have a good record of moving players on as

:03:28. > :03:31.well. Do you expect them to be safe this season? Yes, but with high

:03:32. > :03:34.ambitious. They want to be like other clubs. They have moved

:03:35. > :03:36.forward. Going into League Two, get safe, build the foundation and move

:03:37. > :03:39.on from there. As for the rest of League Two -

:03:40. > :03:42.Burton Albion's storming start to the season came to a shuddering halt

:03:43. > :03:45.on Tuesday, with Wimbledon ending the Brewers' unbeaten run with

:03:46. > :03:47.an impressive 3-0 win. Gary Rowett then was no doubt

:03:48. > :03:49.after a reaction from his league leaders as they took

:03:50. > :04:08.on Bury in a battle of the top two. The top two went head-to-head, Bury

:04:09. > :04:12.unbeaten in seven games and ahead courtesy of Nardiello, who has had

:04:13. > :04:18.to make do with a substitute's roll recently. Strengthening his claim

:04:19. > :04:23.for a place in the starting line-up. Lowe has been in goal-scoring form

:04:24. > :04:28.and made it three in three, still so much to offer and the Shakers were

:04:29. > :04:35.in charge. Nardiello made even more comfortable. Bury on course for a

:04:36. > :04:41.win. Their best start in 20 years. Blyth scored a Burton consolation. A

:04:42. > :04:47.second straight loss for the early-season leaders, they hope it

:04:48. > :04:53.is no more than a temporary setback. Bury are the new pacesetters in

:04:54. > :04:57.League Two. The players were magnificent and the

:04:58. > :05:02.way they moved the ball and cut through, once you get one goal up

:05:03. > :05:08.against Burton and they lose that shape, we tore through them.

:05:09. > :05:13.AFC Wimbledon went into their game at home to fourth placed Morecambe

:05:14. > :05:17.without Matt Tubbs. But when you have a heavyweight strike partner in

:05:18. > :05:22.the form of Akinfenwa leading the line, there is little to fear. His

:05:23. > :05:27.third goal in two games gave the Dons are 27 minute lead. Williams'

:05:28. > :05:31.long-range kick almost restored parity for Morecambe. But Akinfenwa

:05:32. > :05:42.was to prove the matchwinner, even if Barry Roach was to deny him a

:05:43. > :05:47.fourth goal in as many days. Wycombe's away form has been superb

:05:48. > :05:52.so far, ten points from four games, and they grabbed the lead five

:05:53. > :05:56.minutes into the second half at Fratton Park. Wood finished. They

:05:57. > :06:02.could have given them a question shortly afterwards, -- they could

:06:03. > :06:07.have had a crush on shortly afterwards. Matt McClure missed.

:06:08. > :06:13.Pompey nearly equalised courtesy of a magnificent half volley from James

:06:14. > :06:19.Dunn. The home fans would have been getting nervous, but 20 minutes from

:06:20. > :06:23.time, central defender Ertl, on as a half-time substitute, put away his

:06:24. > :06:30.first goal in over a year to earn his side a deserved point.

:06:31. > :06:35.Accrington arrived at Northampton with John Coleman back at the club

:06:36. > :06:39.for his second managerial spell to fill the gap left by James Beattie,

:06:40. > :06:44.and it he made an instant impact. Atkinson popping up with his first

:06:45. > :06:47.goal of the season to put the visitors in front. The Cobblers are

:06:48. > :06:53.a team in form, having thumped Hartlepool height -- Hartlepool five

:06:54. > :06:59.- one midweek. Richards equalised. Accrington signed two loan players

:07:00. > :07:04.this week, one was John O'Sullivan. He made his debut with a smartly

:07:05. > :07:08.taken finish. The home side might have to work on their defending in

:07:09. > :07:13.training this week, especially from set pieces. O Sullivan's cross was

:07:14. > :07:18.met by Atkinson, who found the post and then Northampton keeper archer

:07:19. > :07:21.unwittingly did the rest. This was fast turning into the John

:07:22. > :07:28.O'Sullivan show and this must be drained -- it was a dream debut. He

:07:29. > :07:32.terrorised the home defence at every turn and showed no mercy.

:07:33. > :07:36.Northampton looked like a boxer who had taken too many punches, but to

:07:37. > :07:40.their credit they climbed off the ropes to pull a goal back. Toney

:07:41. > :07:46.claiming his first league goal of the season, eventually. But the

:07:47. > :07:51.visitors were not content to leave it there. There are the loan signing

:07:52. > :07:55.of the week was 20-year-old West Ham striker Sean Maguire, who enjoyed

:07:56. > :07:58.his debut win in which football by offering a glimpse of his potential

:07:59. > :08:05.six minutes from time. That should have been that. A lapse in

:08:06. > :08:09.concentration allowed Northampton to respond and Toney claimed his second

:08:10. > :08:12.goal of the match, and added a degree of respectability to the

:08:13. > :08:17.scoreline. The Northampton faithful even begun to believe in the

:08:18. > :08:21.unthinkable, when Carter scored another deep into injury time. But a

:08:22. > :08:23.draw would have been harsh on Accrington, who deserve their third

:08:24. > :08:33.win of the season. Shrewsbury Town been formidable at

:08:34. > :08:40.home, racking up five wins from five starts. This effort was pushed

:08:41. > :08:45.away, the busier of the two keepers. The visitors were reduced to ten

:08:46. > :08:51.after Hughes' ugly tackle. The referee produced the red card.

:08:52. > :08:56.Shrewsbury Town still opportunity to chase a late winner. It almost

:08:57. > :09:00.came, but somehow substitute Ashley Vincent was able to bundle the

:09:01. > :09:04.opportunity over the line. Newport extended their unbeaten league run

:09:05. > :09:08.to six. Disappointed with the reaction of the Shrewsbury Town is

:09:09. > :09:13.when the tackle was made. I think there have been similar tackles made

:09:14. > :09:18.where there was no reaction from my players. That disappointed me. It

:09:19. > :09:24.was a problem for the referee. I am not sure if it was the right

:09:25. > :09:28.decision if I am honest. York lost their first regular season

:09:29. > :09:32.match for eight months last weekend and fell behind early here.

:09:33. > :09:36.Southend's Jack Payne looks determined to take on all comers

:09:37. > :09:44.until McCoist stepped outside to stop him. He converted the penalty

:09:45. > :09:48.with the minimum of fuss. York had drawn six of the opening eight

:09:49. > :09:50.matches and finished the half level, as Penn flung himself onto

:09:51. > :10:03.the end of this. The reprieve was temporary. Payne

:10:04. > :10:05.had a supporting role in the goal again, but the questionable handling

:10:06. > :10:18.was the main reason Hurst scored. It is no surprise Payne was involved

:10:19. > :10:27.in the match's key goal as well. He provided a classy finish. Southend

:10:28. > :10:32.were kept honest at the end by Winfield's first goal for York, but

:10:33. > :10:38.three wins in a week have put Phil Brown's men up with the pace

:10:39. > :10:43.setters. Cheltenham were without a winner or

:10:44. > :10:49.a goal win their last three fixtures. They needed Trevor Carson

:10:50. > :10:52.to prevent Dagenham Redbridge from establishing a first half lead. A

:10:53. > :10:56.terrific saves, the second from George Porter to maintain the

:10:57. > :11:01.stalemate. The Daggers went in front through a familiar figure, to curate

:11:02. > :11:09.and has played for 14 clubs in a long career. -- Jamie Cureton.

:11:10. > :11:12.Cheltenham introduced a player but their search for an equaliser was

:11:13. > :11:17.proving difficult as he hit the woodwork. They finally got their

:11:18. > :11:24.reward. Jordan Wynter was another to hit the bar. But this time Hanks,
