0:00:04 > 0:00:07And it will be time for these two teams to settle it
0:00:07 > 0:00:08between the white lines.
0:00:08 > 0:00:11Elway, Elway, he is going to fire to the end zone.
0:00:11 > 0:00:12Marino.
0:00:12 > 0:00:13Montana.
0:00:13 > 0:00:16He's looking downfield.
0:00:16 > 0:00:21The one-man wrecking crew.
0:00:21 > 0:00:24Unbelievable.
0:00:24 > 0:00:25Let's go.
0:00:25 > 0:00:26How did he do that?
0:00:26 > 0:00:28For the win.
0:00:28 > 0:00:33Unstoppable.
0:00:33 > 0:00:37Hello and welcome to a new season of NFL, back once again.
0:00:37 > 0:00:41Joining me, NFL safety Jason Bell and two-time Super Bowl
0:00:41 > 0:00:43winner Osi Umenyiora.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45Twice, yes.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48And hopefully these guys are as excited about the new season
0:00:48 > 0:00:51as Tampa Bay's Gerald McCoy was, when he returned to pre-season
0:00:51 > 0:00:55training sporting a kimono.
0:00:55 > 0:00:58He'd been on holiday to Japan and wanted everybody to know.
0:00:58 > 0:01:01And actually, as we will see a little bit later, players do
0:01:01 > 0:01:04return in a variety of odd ways to pre-season.
0:01:04 > 0:01:07I mean, now, with social media, everybody wants to put out
0:01:07 > 0:01:09who they are and their personality, but these guys are
0:01:09 > 0:01:10getting ridiculous.
0:01:10 > 0:01:12Though it's funny, and I enjoy it.
0:01:12 > 0:01:14Why aren't you in a kimono?
0:01:14 > 0:01:15No, no, no, I don't do that.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18I did once come dressed up as a sumo wrestler.
0:01:18 > 0:01:19That was cool.
0:01:19 > 0:01:20Did you?
0:01:20 > 0:01:21To pre-season.
0:01:21 > 0:01:23There's no pictures, but that was cool.
0:01:23 > 0:01:27My mission this season is to find those pictures.
0:01:27 > 0:01:30Before we actually get into this season, we're
0:01:30 > 0:01:33going to cast our minds back to February and what was possibly
0:01:33 > 0:01:37the greatest Super Bowl ever.
0:01:46 > 0:01:50Welcome to NRG Stadium and to Super Bowl LI
0:01:50 > 0:01:53between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons.
0:01:53 > 0:01:55New England tonight is trying to become a five-time
0:01:55 > 0:02:00Super Bowl winner.
0:02:00 > 0:02:03The boot, the flashbulbs go off, Super Bowl LI is under way.
0:02:03 > 0:02:04Devonta starts out.
0:02:04 > 0:02:07Wide left, into the end zone.
0:02:07 > 0:02:13He took a big leap, and Atlanta has grabbed the lead in Super Bowl LI.
0:02:13 > 0:02:15Chased by Macmillan, close to the far side.
0:02:15 > 0:02:18Jones makes the catch.
0:02:18 > 0:02:21Diving catch, touchdown, Atlanta.
0:02:21 > 0:02:23These Falcons have been well prepared for this
0:02:23 > 0:02:25game to say the least.
0:02:25 > 0:02:26Four-man rush.
0:02:26 > 0:02:27Pressure.
0:02:27 > 0:02:29He throws down the middle.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32The pass is picked off.
0:02:32 > 0:02:34It's coming back to the right.
0:02:34 > 0:02:36Goodbye.
0:02:36 > 0:02:38Could you play any worse right now?
0:02:38 > 0:02:40And the second New England turnover is cashed in right away.
0:02:40 > 0:02:48My goodness!
0:02:49 > 0:02:51Half this quarter has almost already gone so at some point
0:02:51 > 0:02:54the sense of urgency has got to be increased here.
0:02:54 > 0:02:55The Falcons lead 28-3.
0:02:55 > 0:02:56Fires left, catch made by White.
0:02:56 > 0:02:57Turns to the inside.
0:02:57 > 0:02:58Dives across the goal line.
0:02:58 > 0:03:02Touchdown, Patriots.
0:03:02 > 0:03:04And maybe, just maybe, there's the one you need.
0:03:04 > 0:03:05Into the upright.
0:03:05 > 0:03:06No good.
0:03:06 > 0:03:08You've got to be kidding me.
0:03:08 > 0:03:10Now it's time for somebody on the defensive side
0:03:10 > 0:03:11to get to Matt Ryan.
0:03:11 > 0:03:13The Patriots will try to stage the greatest comeback
0:03:13 > 0:03:14in Super Bowl history.
0:03:14 > 0:03:16It's loose.
0:03:16 > 0:03:17Are you kidding me?
0:03:17 > 0:03:18Unbelievable.
0:03:18 > 0:03:19The sack just can't happen.
0:03:19 > 0:03:20That cannot happen.
0:03:20 > 0:03:23Takes the step, backs up, looks left, throws it.
0:03:23 > 0:03:27Touchdown, Patriots.
0:03:27 > 0:03:28They will go for two.
0:03:28 > 0:03:305.56 to go here in the fourth.
0:03:30 > 0:03:33He's in for two.
0:03:33 > 0:03:34Now we've got a ball game, folks.
0:03:34 > 0:03:38Touchdown, Patriots.
0:03:41 > 0:03:46They've drawn within two in Super Bowl LI.
0:03:46 > 0:03:50Screen left.
0:03:50 > 0:03:52Everybody that's supported you, everybody behind you today...
0:03:52 > 0:03:53Reaches across the goal line.
0:03:53 > 0:03:57It's a tied game in Super Bowl LI.
0:03:57 > 0:03:58I can't believe it!
0:03:58 > 0:04:03The first ever overtime game in Super Bowl history.
0:04:03 > 0:04:05Let's go score and win this thing, baby.
0:04:05 > 0:04:06For your mom.
0:04:06 > 0:04:10For your mom, bro.
0:04:15 > 0:04:18Takes the step.
0:04:18 > 0:04:19Tossed wide for James White.
0:04:19 > 0:04:20Cuts it upfield.
0:04:20 > 0:04:28Driving forward, diving to the goal-line.
0:04:28 > 0:04:31Touchdown.
0:04:31 > 0:04:35The title for the Patriots.
0:04:35 > 0:04:38I can't believe it!
0:04:38 > 0:04:40They have completed the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.
0:04:40 > 0:04:43I've seen it all.
0:04:43 > 0:04:46I have seen it all.
0:04:46 > 0:04:49He will be handed a Lombardi Trophy for the fifth time.
0:04:49 > 0:04:57You wanted one more, New England, and you got it.
0:04:57 > 0:05:00I've got goose bumps watching that, and the first thing that comes
0:05:00 > 0:05:03to mind is that there isn't a better sport when it comes
0:05:03 > 0:05:05to how it is covered, both cinematically, and the sound.
0:05:05 > 0:05:07Because people are miked up in this game.
0:05:07 > 0:05:11It gives you such an insight into it.
0:05:11 > 0:05:15Truly amazing, and the NFL does an outstanding job of allowing
0:05:15 > 0:05:18people to experience everything that goes on with those
0:05:18 > 0:05:19players on the field.
0:05:19 > 0:05:22People still talk to me about that game, seven months on,
0:05:22 > 0:05:25which isn't surprising, really.
0:05:25 > 0:05:28I feel like we witnessed the greatest Super Bowl ever.
0:05:28 > 0:05:31We were there, we saw it, we felt it, the emotions were happening.
0:05:31 > 0:05:32Not ever.
0:05:32 > 0:05:35It was a good one.
0:05:35 > 0:05:36It was ever, man.
0:05:36 > 0:05:38Are there two others that were greater for you?
0:05:38 > 0:05:41I can think of two other Super Bowls that were a little bit
0:05:41 > 0:05:42better than that one.
0:05:42 > 0:05:44That was good.
0:05:44 > 0:05:45It was a good one.
0:05:45 > 0:05:46The greatest comeback.
0:05:46 > 0:05:47The greatest comeback.
0:05:47 > 0:05:49I don't want this whole season to be about Brady
0:05:49 > 0:05:52and your animosity towards Brady, but you did end our coverage
0:05:52 > 0:05:55that night by saying he is the greatest of all time.
0:05:55 > 0:05:55Yes.
0:05:55 > 0:05:58Well, I have to apologise for that because I was a little
0:05:58 > 0:06:00emotional at the time, after seeing him defeat
0:06:00 > 0:06:01the Atlanta Falcons.
0:06:01 > 0:06:04But no, he's not the greatest of all time, man.
0:06:04 > 0:06:05That was the greatest comeback we've seen.
0:06:05 > 0:06:07That might have been the greatest performance we've
0:06:07 > 0:06:10seen in the Super Bowl, but the greatest of all time,
0:06:10 > 0:06:11I'm still not sold.
0:06:11 > 0:06:12So you've changed your mind?
0:06:12 > 0:06:13I changed my mind.
0:06:13 > 0:06:15What you will find, ladies and gentlemen,
0:06:15 > 0:06:17boys and girls watching, is that over the course
0:06:17 > 0:06:20of this season, they both change their minds an awful lot,
0:06:20 > 0:06:22particularly when it comes to predictions
0:06:22 > 0:06:25and who they are fancying, and all of that kind of stuff.
0:06:25 > 0:06:27The crucial point in that Super Bowl was the Edelmann catch,
0:06:27 > 0:06:30and the great thing about that, going back to coverage
0:06:30 > 0:06:33and the access we get, was that this was miked up,
0:06:33 > 0:06:39so you could actually hear this, shortly after he took the catch.
0:06:47 > 0:06:47I caught it.
0:06:47 > 0:06:48I caught it.
0:06:48 > 0:06:51I caught it.
0:06:51 > 0:06:52Crazy, I swear to God.
0:06:52 > 0:06:53No way, look at that.
0:06:53 > 0:06:54Watch.
0:06:54 > 0:06:59No, no.
0:06:59 > 0:07:02It was an amazing catch, and amazing footage as well.
0:07:02 > 0:07:04The thing is, he is Brady's go-to guy for the Patriots,
0:07:04 > 0:07:07so throwing it on to this season, he's going to be out
0:07:07 > 0:07:09for the season, isn't he?
0:07:09 > 0:07:10Edelmann.
0:07:10 > 0:07:11Devastating injury, because just like you said,
0:07:11 > 0:07:12that's his go-to guy.
0:07:12 > 0:07:14And you hear them talk about each other.
0:07:14 > 0:07:17They understand each other as friends and on the field,
0:07:17 > 0:07:18and that's important.
0:07:18 > 0:07:19They see the game the same way.
0:07:19 > 0:07:20Tom Brady needs him.
0:07:20 > 0:07:23This is the preseason game in which he did
0:07:23 > 0:07:25his cruciate, isn't it?
0:07:25 > 0:07:27So how much does that weaken New England, because actually,
0:07:27 > 0:07:30if you look at the stuff that they did, since winning
0:07:30 > 0:07:32the Super Bowl, they have strengthened in many ways.
0:07:32 > 0:07:34Yes, it doesn't weaken them, not one bit.
0:07:34 > 0:07:36And here's why I say that.
0:07:36 > 0:07:38Who was Tom Brady's go to guy last year?
0:07:38 > 0:07:39Gronkowski.
0:07:39 > 0:07:40What happened?
0:07:40 > 0:07:41He didn't play.
0:07:41 > 0:07:43They ended up winning the Super Bowl without him.
0:07:43 > 0:07:46This New England Patriots team is a well oiled machine.
0:07:46 > 0:07:48It doesn't matter who they have out there at receiver.
0:07:48 > 0:07:51They've brought in Brandin Cooks they brought in to Dwayne Allen,
0:07:51 > 0:07:52two outstanding receiving options for this guy.
0:07:52 > 0:07:53Gronkowski's coming back.
0:07:53 > 0:07:57They are going to be able to move on without Julian Edelmann.
0:07:57 > 0:07:59Do you find it remarkable that they are stronger already
0:07:59 > 0:08:01than they were last season, given how well they
0:08:01 > 0:08:04worked last season?
0:08:04 > 0:08:06And if so, let's get the question out the way
0:08:06 > 0:08:08on the preview show, can they go 19-0, the whole
0:08:08 > 0:08:10season undefeated?
0:08:10 > 0:08:12I don't think they can go undefeated.
0:08:12 > 0:08:15It's just so hard, week to week, to get up for every game.
0:08:15 > 0:08:16Things happen, you don't know.
0:08:16 > 0:08:19But as long as Tom Brady is taking that snap,
0:08:19 > 0:08:21they've got the chance to be great.
0:08:21 > 0:08:23And you'd say they are stronger than last year?
0:08:23 > 0:08:24Yes.
0:08:24 > 0:08:25OK.
0:08:25 > 0:08:28Well, we hope you were with us all of last season but we also hope
0:08:28 > 0:08:32to bring in new viewers and fans of the game, so if this
0:08:32 > 0:08:34is the first time you have dipped your toe into the NFL,
0:08:34 > 0:08:38here's a little explainer to get you up to speed.
0:08:38 > 0:08:41The 32 teams in the NFL are split equally between two conferences,
0:08:41 > 0:08:43the AFC and the NFC.
0:08:43 > 0:08:46Each conference is made up of four divisions that contain four teams.
0:08:46 > 0:08:52Each team will play 16 games in the regular season.
0:08:52 > 0:08:54They'll play their divisional rivals home and away every year,
0:08:54 > 0:08:56with their remaining ten games spread out across both conferences,
0:08:56 > 0:09:00based on a predetermined rotation.
0:09:00 > 0:09:03The aim in the regular season is to top your division by having
0:09:03 > 0:09:06the best win-to-loss record.
0:09:06 > 0:09:10As an example, here is how last season panned out.
0:09:10 > 0:09:12By winning your division, you automatically reach the play-offs.
0:09:12 > 0:09:14But there is also a back door.
0:09:14 > 0:09:17If your win-loss record is good enough, you can sneak into one
0:09:17 > 0:09:21of the four wild card spots.
0:09:21 > 0:09:25Once in the play-offs, the 12 teams who have qualified
0:09:25 > 0:09:29battle over who will be crowned conference champions.
0:09:29 > 0:09:33Then, on February the 4th in Minnesota, the NFC champions meet
0:09:33 > 0:09:42the AFC champions and they fight for the big one, the Super Bowl.
0:09:42 > 0:09:45I'd like to talk about Houston first of all with you both
0:09:45 > 0:09:48and what they are going through at the moment as a city.
0:09:48 > 0:09:50It's a city that you know very well.
0:09:50 > 0:09:52You lived there, you played for the Texans.
0:09:52 > 0:09:56It's such a sad situation and I actually was playing there
0:09:56 > 0:09:59when they had a hurricane before.
0:09:59 > 0:10:00I've been through the same situation.
0:10:00 > 0:10:03It was our bye week during the season, so we were able
0:10:03 > 0:10:06to get out of town, but I have team-mates that just
0:10:06 > 0:10:09had terrible stories about trying to get out of town,
0:10:09 > 0:10:10being in traffic.
0:10:10 > 0:10:11Scary.
0:10:11 > 0:10:14Did you feel a need, then, to step up as a group
0:10:14 > 0:10:16of players for the area, because there is no doubt
0:10:16 > 0:10:19that is what JJ Watt has gone over the past few days,
0:10:19 > 0:10:21as the face of the franchise?
0:10:21 > 0:10:23Absolutely.
0:10:23 > 0:10:27When we got back into town and saw what had happened,
0:10:27 > 0:10:29we definitely, the community, the players, the organisation,
0:10:29 > 0:10:33Bob McNair is a great owner, got behind it and we did as much
0:10:33 > 0:10:35as we could for the community.
0:10:35 > 0:10:37This might be a difficult question to answer, really,
0:10:37 > 0:10:40but if you go back to when Katrina hit New Orleans, New Orleans,
0:10:40 > 0:10:43the couple of seasons before Katrina went eight and eight.
0:10:43 > 0:10:45The season of Katrina, which damaged their stadium,
0:10:45 > 0:10:47they went three and 13.
0:10:47 > 0:10:50Do you think it could damage Houston?
0:10:50 > 0:10:53I know it pales into insignificance, but do you think it could damage
0:10:53 > 0:10:55their season on the field?
0:10:55 > 0:10:58Well, I would hope not, but from all indications and things
0:10:58 > 0:11:00I've seen in the past, it definitely has
0:11:00 > 0:11:02an effect on teams.
0:11:02 > 0:11:05Like you said with New Orleans and hurricane Katrina, we actually
0:11:05 > 0:11:08played against New Orleans that year, and they had to come,
0:11:08 > 0:11:11instead of playing in New Orleans, they had to come and play against us
0:11:11 > 0:11:13in New York, which was their home game.
0:11:13 > 0:11:16They were just a terrible team, and you could tell that the focus
0:11:16 > 0:11:18wasn't there, their mind was elsewhere, and rightfully so,
0:11:18 > 0:11:21because who really wants to be playing football in a situation
0:11:21 > 0:11:23where it's your whole town is decimated like that?
0:11:23 > 0:11:27So it might have an effect on their season but I hope it doesn't.
0:11:27 > 0:11:29Let's look at some of the other teams in the AFC.
0:11:29 > 0:11:32The Raiders were so close last year until they lost
0:11:32 > 0:11:33Derek Carr with a broken leg.
0:11:33 > 0:11:36He is back and he's fit, so what do you assess of their chances?
0:11:36 > 0:11:40Well, offensively, they are dangerous.
0:11:40 > 0:11:42With Marshawn Lynch now a closer, with that high-powered
0:11:42 > 0:11:45offence, they are amazing.
0:11:45 > 0:11:48I mean, I feel like what they did last year was just so significant,
0:11:48 > 0:11:50I don't know if they can do that again.
0:11:50 > 0:11:53And especially, I think nobody's talking about their weakness,
0:11:53 > 0:11:56which is their secondary.
0:11:56 > 0:11:58Well, I like the Oakland Raiders but I just don't think,
0:11:58 > 0:12:01like he said, they're going to be able to continue the success
0:12:01 > 0:12:03that they had last season.
0:12:03 > 0:12:05I think even though they brought in Marshawn Lynch,
0:12:05 > 0:12:06they have Derek Carr, the reigning defensive
0:12:06 > 0:12:08MVP in Kahlil Mack, an outstanding football player,
0:12:08 > 0:12:11but when I watched their games last year it just seemed to me
0:12:11 > 0:12:12something was missing.
0:12:12 > 0:12:16I can't put my finger on it right now but something seemed to be
0:12:16 > 0:12:18missing from that team and I don't think they are going
0:12:18 > 0:12:21to be able to dethrone the New England Patriots.
0:12:21 > 0:12:23All right, the best team in the AFC?
0:12:23 > 0:12:23New England Patriots.
0:12:23 > 0:12:25Best team in the AFC?
0:12:25 > 0:12:26New England.
0:12:26 > 0:12:30OK, the dark horses in the AFC, somebody that might surprise us,
0:12:30 > 0:12:33bearing in mind I will hold you to this all season?
0:12:33 > 0:12:34The Miami Dolphins.
0:12:34 > 0:12:35Really?
0:12:35 > 0:12:36Yes.
0:12:36 > 0:12:38And this is why I say that.
0:12:38 > 0:12:40Jay Cutler is an outstanding quarterback, under Adam Gates.
0:12:40 > 0:12:42He had his best season ever under Adam Gates,
0:12:42 > 0:12:44who is the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
0:12:44 > 0:12:45They have everything.
0:12:45 > 0:12:47Outstanding receivers, a good defence, tough
0:12:47 > 0:12:49physical running back.
0:12:49 > 0:12:52This is a good football team and this is my dark horse team.
0:12:52 > 0:12:54OK, we might come back to the Dolphins later.
0:12:54 > 0:12:56Houston, Texas.
0:12:56 > 0:12:59And I will tell you why.
0:12:59 > 0:13:01You are not going to outscore the New England Patriots.
0:13:01 > 0:13:02Yes.
0:13:02 > 0:13:04Who gave them the roughest time in the play-offs?
0:13:04 > 0:13:05Houston.
0:13:05 > 0:13:06Yes.
0:13:06 > 0:13:07They can stop them.
0:13:07 > 0:13:10If they get a little bit of offensive engine going,
0:13:10 > 0:13:11they can pull that off.
0:13:11 > 0:13:13Who is their quarterback, though, Tom Savage?
0:13:13 > 0:13:15They just need to keep it close, and DeShawn Watson
0:13:15 > 0:13:17will be on the field.
0:13:17 > 0:13:20For the first time this season, you to start to argue
0:13:20 > 0:13:23and the editor in my ear says, "Wrap it up".
0:13:23 > 0:13:26That's how it will be for the next few months.
0:13:26 > 0:13:28This season, I am told we are breaking new boundaries
0:13:28 > 0:13:31because in addition to our UK audience, we now have viewers tuning
0:13:31 > 0:13:32in around the world, apparently.
0:13:32 > 0:13:33No pressure.
0:13:33 > 0:13:36One of those nations taking in the show is Nigeria.
0:13:36 > 0:13:38So this next section is dedicated to the watching Umenyiora family,
0:13:38 > 0:13:41who no doubt have often wondered what Osi means when he says
0:13:41 > 0:13:45he's on the telly.
0:13:45 > 0:13:51Welcome to NFL this week.
0:13:51 > 0:13:53Joining me once again, former NFL quarterback Jason Bell,
0:13:53 > 0:13:58and two-time Super Bowl winner Osi Umenyiora.
0:13:58 > 0:14:01That was a great save.
0:14:01 > 0:14:02A touchdown for the Patriots.
0:14:02 > 0:14:04Give them the X, they need that.
0:14:04 > 0:14:05Keep throwing it up.
0:14:05 > 0:14:06Give me that X.
0:14:06 > 0:14:10Running like me when I was a kid in Africa.
0:14:10 > 0:14:12Have you ever been chased by a rhinoceros, man?
0:14:12 > 0:14:14We're going to have to send you to acting school.
0:14:14 > 0:14:16I'm the greatest the world has ever seen.
0:14:16 > 0:14:17This guy's humble.
0:14:17 > 0:14:20They closed that space down quicker than I close down my computer
0:14:20 > 0:14:22when my wife walks in the room.
0:14:22 > 0:14:23Show me what you got.
0:14:23 > 0:14:25Squeeze it in tight.
0:14:25 > 0:14:28I would hit him there.
0:14:28 > 0:14:30Talking bad about you when you're not around.
0:14:30 > 0:14:31Are you serious?
0:14:31 > 0:14:32I'm sorry.
0:14:32 > 0:14:36I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me.
0:14:36 > 0:14:38Paparazzi.
0:14:38 > 0:14:43There it is, that's it.
0:14:43 > 0:14:45Well, as we already saw with the kimono, preseason
0:14:45 > 0:14:47for an NFL player throws up the bizarre and the
0:14:47 > 0:14:48outright brilliant.
0:14:48 > 0:14:51Let's take a look around the leagues at what's been happening.
0:14:51 > 0:14:54Let's start with Antonio Brown and how he arrived for preseason
0:14:54 > 0:14:56at the Steelers in a vintage Rolls-Royce.
0:14:56 > 0:15:01You can't give everybody money.
0:15:01 > 0:15:03You can't give everybody money because this is the kind
0:15:03 > 0:15:04of thing that happens.
0:15:04 > 0:15:06He looks so calm and relaxed.
0:15:06 > 0:15:09Look at him.
0:15:09 > 0:15:11Would you...
0:15:11 > 0:15:14I mean, would you like team-mates doing this?
0:15:14 > 0:15:17Yeah, for me it was always good because I would like to be that guy.
0:15:17 > 0:15:20I was trying not to get cut every year!
0:15:20 > 0:15:22I definitely wasn't doing anything like that, but to watch
0:15:22 > 0:15:24guys like Osi come in, it is cool.
0:15:24 > 0:15:25They seem relaxed.
0:15:25 > 0:15:29Don't give him ideas on how to arrive for each show from now on!
0:15:29 > 0:15:32Odell Beckham Jr is a favourite of the show, obviously, for his skills.
0:15:32 > 0:15:35In preseason practice already, Osi, he has
0:15:35 > 0:15:37demonstrated what he does best.
0:15:37 > 0:15:41This guy just isn't a human being.
0:15:41 > 0:15:43Who makes catches like this routinely?
0:15:43 > 0:15:45He does this in the game, in practice.
0:15:45 > 0:15:47I mean, this is ridiculous.
0:15:47 > 0:15:49The good thing about this, it does show how much
0:15:49 > 0:15:50he does practice it.
0:15:50 > 0:15:52It isn't just like that.
0:15:52 > 0:15:54I mean, nobody really...
0:15:54 > 0:15:56They look at the catch, but watch him jump.
0:15:56 > 0:15:58He's jumping off of footwork that triple jumpers do.
0:15:58 > 0:16:01It's amazing.
0:16:02 > 0:16:04Speaking of serious preseason practice, this is unbelievable.
0:16:04 > 0:16:05This will make you wince.
0:16:05 > 0:16:07James Harrison of the Steelers, they are playing beach volleyball
0:16:07 > 0:16:09with a medicine ball.
0:16:09 > 0:16:12Wow.
0:16:12 > 0:16:15That's my boy Rob Golden, that's the safety, number 21.
0:16:15 > 0:16:17Could you do that?
0:16:17 > 0:16:19No.
0:16:19 > 0:16:20This right here is intimidation.
0:16:20 > 0:16:24He's doing this for guys to watch and think when they are playing
0:16:24 > 0:16:26against him, that he will just muscle them to death.
0:16:26 > 0:16:27This is just my regular work-out!
0:16:27 > 0:16:30In case you don't know.
0:16:30 > 0:16:32The greatest worker-outer there's ever been.
0:16:32 > 0:16:35I thought you might say that.
0:16:35 > 0:16:38Let's take a look at the London games coming, because we will get
0:16:38 > 0:16:40four NFL games in the capital of England this year.
0:16:40 > 0:16:42And there they are...
0:16:52 > 0:16:55Let's start with the Miami game, shall we, against
0:16:55 > 0:16:57the New Orleans Saints.
0:16:57 > 0:16:59You have already tipped them, Osi, as a dark horse.
0:16:59 > 0:17:02Do you think Cutler is a better option than
0:17:02 > 0:17:03Tannehill, who's injured?
0:17:03 > 0:17:06I think so, but only because of Adam Gase,
0:17:06 > 0:17:10and the fact we know he had his best season under Adam Gase in 2015.
0:17:10 > 0:17:12I think continuing that same offense, he's
0:17:12 > 0:17:14comfortable down there.
0:17:14 > 0:17:17He has even better receiving options than he had in Chicago.
0:17:17 > 0:17:19I think they will be a really good team.
0:17:19 > 0:17:22There will be a lot of hype around that game in London
0:17:22 > 0:17:24because Jay Ajayi will be back for the Dolphins,
0:17:24 > 0:17:25back in his hometown.
0:17:25 > 0:17:27Absolutely, and he's one of the hardest running running
0:17:27 > 0:17:29backs in the league.
0:17:29 > 0:17:31He breaks more tackles than anybody.
0:17:31 > 0:17:34It's going to be interesting to see him play.
0:17:34 > 0:17:37Do you think there will be a lot of pressure on him this season
0:17:37 > 0:17:40in general because of what he did last season, to now repeat it?
0:17:40 > 0:17:43Definitely, and a quarterback's best friend is the running game,
0:17:43 > 0:17:44so he has to continue.
0:17:44 > 0:17:47Every time I think about Jay Ajayi, do you know what I think?
0:17:47 > 0:17:49Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman.
0:17:49 > 0:17:51LAUGHTER.
0:17:51 > 0:17:53Do you?!
0:17:53 > 0:17:56I don't know why, it just caught in my mind,
0:17:56 > 0:17:57because he's English, he's an Englishman.
0:17:57 > 0:17:58Yeah, yeah.
0:17:58 > 0:18:00Do you think that when you see me?
0:18:00 > 0:18:01Not really.
0:18:01 > 0:18:04For some reason it doesn't quite...
0:18:04 > 0:18:06Doesn't work the same way... No correlation, not really.
0:18:06 > 0:18:08Let's talk about Minnesota against Cleveland and I want
0:18:08 > 0:18:10to focus on Cleveland here.
0:18:10 > 0:18:17This is at Twickenham on the 29th of October.
0:18:17 > 0:18:20Last season you two took the mick out of Cleveland mercilessly.
0:18:20 > 0:18:21Just us two, right?
0:18:21 > 0:18:22Just you two.
0:18:22 > 0:18:23Only us two!
0:18:23 > 0:18:25I stood up for them all the time.
0:18:25 > 0:18:28But do you think they might be a different proposition this season,
0:18:28 > 0:18:30and if so, why do you think that?
0:18:30 > 0:18:31I definitely do.
0:18:31 > 0:18:34I think they did the right thing by working on and improving
0:18:34 > 0:18:35that offensive line.
0:18:35 > 0:18:38When you improve the offensive line, you give whoever is playing
0:18:38 > 0:18:40quarterback the ability to be successful.
0:18:40 > 0:18:42I think they did that and addressed that this offseason.
0:18:42 > 0:18:45That's what they did in the offseason, and then they debated
0:18:45 > 0:18:47for a while who their quarterback was going to be.
0:18:47 > 0:18:49Brock Osweiler is there, of course.
0:18:49 > 0:18:51They have gone with DeShone Kizer, who they drafted.
0:18:51 > 0:18:53He will be their quarterback.
0:18:53 > 0:18:56You don't want to expect too much from a rookie, do you?
0:18:56 > 0:18:57You don't, but it's the right move.
0:18:57 > 0:19:00This is a young football team.
0:19:00 > 0:19:02They can't get any worse than they did last season.
0:19:02 > 0:19:04They could get one game worse!
0:19:04 > 0:19:05They were one and...
0:19:05 > 0:19:09Now you are trying to get me to take the mick out of them.
0:19:09 > 0:19:11They were 1-15.
0:19:11 > 0:19:13This is a team that's going to grow.
0:19:13 > 0:19:15They will have some growing pains with the younger quarterback.
0:19:15 > 0:19:18They have a good head coach in Jackson, so this is a team that
0:19:18 > 0:19:20you really need to be on the lookout for.
0:19:20 > 0:19:23And they had the number one draft pick, and they picked
0:19:23 > 0:19:25with that Myles Garrett, so both of you give me
0:19:25 > 0:19:27an appreciation of what he's going to bring.
0:19:27 > 0:19:30What everybody can look out for when he plays
0:19:30 > 0:19:32for the Cleveland Browns.
0:19:32 > 0:19:36When you talk about a guy like this, you want your defensive ends to be
0:19:36 > 0:19:38the cornerstone of your team.
0:19:38 > 0:19:40This is an outstanding physical specimen.
0:19:40 > 0:19:43Huge, speed, athleticism, he has it all, and he can rush the passer.
0:19:43 > 0:19:47You want a guy in your team for ten or 15 years,
0:19:47 > 0:19:48this is going to be the guy.
0:19:48 > 0:19:51Yeah, it's hard to find guys like that, you know.
0:19:51 > 0:19:53Osi was one of those rare breeds.
0:19:53 > 0:19:56Because of that you can put pressure and win games with guys like that.
0:19:56 > 0:19:58But it's great, you normally expect a quarterback to go
0:19:58 > 0:20:00number one in the draft.
0:20:00 > 0:20:01It hasn't.
0:20:01 > 0:20:03It's quite nice to see somebody different going number one
0:20:03 > 0:20:06in the draft and seeing how big a superstar they could be.
0:20:06 > 0:20:08Somebody different for people to look out for.
0:20:08 > 0:20:09Yeah, but he's that important.
0:20:09 > 0:20:12Besides the quarterback, it's the guy who stops them.
0:20:12 > 0:20:14You want to get a guy like that.
0:20:14 > 0:20:16And you don't want to waste that first-round pick on somebody
0:20:16 > 0:20:18who doesn't have super talent.
0:20:18 > 0:20:21OK, the first go on the touch screen to do all the analysis
0:20:21 > 0:20:23is Jason this season.
0:20:23 > 0:20:25The first pick?!
0:20:25 > 0:20:28The first pick, Jason, make your way over, if you could.
0:20:28 > 0:20:29Can I get cut?
0:20:29 > 0:20:32Go and practice.
0:20:32 > 0:20:35As Jason heads off to the touch screen, I'm going to tell
0:20:35 > 0:20:38you about a new feature we are going to do over
0:20:38 > 0:20:39the course of the campaign.
0:20:39 > 0:20:42We are going to look at positions in the NFL,
0:20:42 > 0:20:44pick out the big names and tell you why they are the
0:20:44 > 0:20:46best in the field.
0:20:46 > 0:20:49But we will also give you a player to look out for this season.
0:20:49 > 0:20:52Jason is over there and he's going to start us off with quarterbacks.
0:20:54 > 0:20:56We all agree that Osi's favourite quarterback,
0:20:56 > 0:20:57Tom Brady, is the greatest.
0:20:57 > 0:21:00But let me talk about another three guys that I like,
0:21:00 > 0:21:02and I like specific things they do well.
0:21:02 > 0:21:03Let's start with my man, Drew Brees.
0:21:03 > 0:21:06What Drew Brees does well is he's a quick decision maker.
0:21:06 > 0:21:09He has the highest percentage of passes thrown quickly in the league.
0:21:09 > 0:21:12That's effective for a guy who needs to keep his offense operating
0:21:12 > 0:21:17quickly and efficiently.
0:21:17 > 0:21:19As you see now, he's making quick decisions down
0:21:19 > 0:21:22here on the goal-line.
0:21:22 > 0:21:26This is where you have to get the ball out quick, and he does that
0:21:26 > 0:21:27better than anybody.
0:21:27 > 0:21:29Tight spaces, tight windows, you have to make quick decisions.
0:21:29 > 0:21:31That's true veteran quarterback play and it takes years
0:21:31 > 0:21:32to get that skill down.
0:21:32 > 0:21:38Drew Brees is one of the best at it.
0:21:38 > 0:21:43Let's go to my man, Russell "Loose Legs" Wilson.
0:21:43 > 0:21:46Now, what Russell Wilson does better than anybody is he operates
0:21:46 > 0:21:48in what I call orchestrated chaos.
0:21:48 > 0:21:53His O-line is not the best, and he's never had the greatest O-line.
0:21:53 > 0:21:57So what he has to do is create plays using his legs.
0:21:57 > 0:21:59I want you to watch his feet here.
0:21:59 > 0:22:03As you see, as soon as he gets the snap, he has pressure on him.
0:22:03 > 0:22:04He has to move around.
0:22:04 > 0:22:08He has to make time for his guys to get open down the field.
0:22:08 > 0:22:09That's a 3rd 11 play, that's huge.
0:22:09 > 0:22:12He has to give his team time to get open and operate,
0:22:12 > 0:22:15and with a tight end like Jimmy Graham, that's
0:22:15 > 0:22:16what you need to do.
0:22:16 > 0:22:18Once again, look at him operate, look at his footwork.
0:22:18 > 0:22:20And he gets the ball out.
0:22:20 > 0:22:23He created that whole play using his legs.
0:22:23 > 0:22:26Once again, that's why footwork is so important for a quarterback.
0:22:26 > 0:22:30You have to know who you have around you and he knows he has
0:22:30 > 0:22:32to move because his O-line isn't the greatest.
0:22:32 > 0:22:36Osi loves guys like that.
0:22:36 > 0:22:40Now, my main man, Aaron "Mark Chapman" Rodgers.
0:22:40 > 0:22:43LAUGHTER IN BACKGROUND.
0:22:43 > 0:22:46As you see, this is a serious point in the game.
0:22:46 > 0:22:4831-31 in the playoffs.
0:22:48 > 0:22:50Fourth quarter, 12 seconds, 3rd 20.
0:22:50 > 0:22:52This is where accuracy comes into play.
0:22:52 > 0:22:56And Aaron Rodgers is the best in the league when it comes to that.
0:22:56 > 0:22:58Comes out, gets the snap, he's got pressure on him immediately.
0:22:58 > 0:23:00He rolls out.
0:23:00 > 0:23:02Look at this, he throws across his body, down the sideline.
0:23:02 > 0:23:06I mean, this view is OK, but let's watch this next one.
0:23:06 > 0:23:08Watch where he places this ball.
0:23:08 > 0:23:14I mean, I've never seen anything like this.
0:23:14 > 0:23:17Look at the guy at 31, he's like, I can't believe he pulled that off.
0:23:17 > 0:23:20Because nobody can usually squeeze these in these windows like this.
0:23:20 > 0:23:22And that's what Aaron Rodgers does better than anybody.
0:23:22 > 0:23:24He squeezes in those tight spaces.
0:23:24 > 0:23:26And this other clip will show you even more.
0:23:26 > 0:23:28Down by the goal-line, this is where it's most important,
0:23:28 > 0:23:31because you don't have a lot of space in the red
0:23:31 > 0:23:32zone, in the end zone.
0:23:32 > 0:23:33The throwing lanes are tighter.
0:23:33 > 0:23:36You see him creating with his feet and throwing and getting a tight
0:23:36 > 0:23:38lane without any space.
0:23:38 > 0:23:41You have to be so accurate to throw touchdowns down in the red zone,
0:23:41 > 0:23:43in the end zone, and that's what he does well.
0:23:43 > 0:23:45That's why most teams try to run.
0:23:45 > 0:23:48They prefer to run in because it's so hard to get the ball
0:23:48 > 0:23:49in those tight spaces.
0:23:49 > 0:23:52Now, we always got to talk about the future, right?
0:23:52 > 0:23:53We've talked about the now.
0:23:53 > 0:23:56Hey, there's a bunch of young guys right now that I like,
0:23:56 > 0:23:58but this guy, Jameis Winston, he's my favourite.
0:23:58 > 0:24:00And I'll tell you why.
0:24:00 > 0:24:02He's a born leader.
0:24:02 > 0:24:06If you watch hard and see him talk, the guys got it.
0:24:06 > 0:24:09But as you see, he's got the arm, he's got the nobility,
0:24:09 > 0:24:11and he can make plays.
0:24:11 > 0:24:14This is a very good highlight of all those things.
0:24:14 > 0:24:16He's got pressure, he's moving around.
0:24:16 > 0:24:18He's keeping his eyes downfield.
0:24:18 > 0:24:19That's the main thing.
0:24:19 > 0:24:22You've got to keep your eyes downfield of who you're throwing to.
0:24:22 > 0:24:23You can't panic back there.
0:24:23 > 0:24:25And look at this arm.
0:24:25 > 0:24:26This is amazing.
0:24:26 > 0:24:28With all that pressure, he's got weapons around him.
0:24:28 > 0:24:31And for a young quarterback to develop, they have to have good
0:24:31 > 0:24:32offensive weapons around them.
0:24:32 > 0:24:35Good receivers, good tight ends, good offensive line,
0:24:35 > 0:24:36good running game.
0:24:36 > 0:24:38And Tampa Bay has that.
0:24:38 > 0:24:40He needs to continue to develop.
0:24:40 > 0:24:43It takes about four or five years for these guys,
0:24:43 > 0:24:44but he's on the right path.
0:24:44 > 0:24:47Jameis Winston for the future.
0:24:47 > 0:24:48Those are my picks.
0:24:48 > 0:24:51I like quarterbacks.
0:24:55 > 0:24:56He does like quarterbacks.
0:24:56 > 0:24:59As he comes back over, let me ask you, Osi,
0:24:59 > 0:25:01what type you would fear most when you were playing,
0:25:01 > 0:25:02of the ones Jason highlighted?
0:25:02 > 0:25:04No question it would be Aaron Rodgers.
0:25:04 > 0:25:05You can prepare for a mobile quarterback.
0:25:05 > 0:25:08You can also prepare for a standard pocket passing quarterback.
0:25:08 > 0:25:11But nobody can prepare you for a guy who can do both.
0:25:11 > 0:25:13Now, Aaron Rodgers in the pocket isn't looking
0:25:13 > 0:25:14to run most of the time.
0:25:14 > 0:25:17He's scrambling in the pocket with his eyes downfield looking
0:25:17 > 0:25:19to throw the football and buy himself five, six, seven seconds,
0:25:19 > 0:25:22which no DB can cover for.
0:25:22 > 0:25:25He's a nightmare to play against.
0:25:25 > 0:25:27Interesting thing, on your list there of what you are looking
0:25:27 > 0:25:29for in a quarterback, you didn't have Matt Stafford
0:25:29 > 0:25:32on there, who this week has become the highest-paid quarterback
0:25:32 > 0:25:33in the NFL.
0:25:33 > 0:25:35Yeah, and taking nothing away from him.
0:25:35 > 0:25:36And for him it was just timing.
0:25:36 > 0:25:37His contract was up.
0:25:37 > 0:25:39He was the top guy out there.
0:25:39 > 0:25:40He gets the top dollar.
0:25:40 > 0:25:43The other thing that shows, just very quickly, is particularly
0:25:43 > 0:25:45with Rodgers and Brees and the experience of Brady as well,
0:25:45 > 0:25:48so when we are looking at young quarterbacks over the course
0:25:48 > 0:25:50of the season, you can't expect too much, too soon.
0:25:50 > 0:25:51Is that fair?
0:25:51 > 0:25:53Of course.
0:25:53 > 0:25:54The quarterback position is the hardest position
0:25:54 > 0:25:55to play in sports.
0:25:55 > 0:25:57Not just football...
0:25:57 > 0:25:58Is that what you have to learn?
0:25:58 > 0:25:59..In sports.
0:25:59 > 0:26:00Exactly.
0:26:00 > 0:26:03It takes a couple of years for them to truly develop.
0:26:03 > 0:26:06You only see guys like Dak Prescott come in once a generation.
0:26:06 > 0:26:09Let me ask you, one of the stories in the NFL at the moment,
0:26:09 > 0:26:11and that's Dallas, who were very good last season.
0:26:11 > 0:26:13They are known as America's team.
0:26:13 > 0:26:15They don't have Ezekiel Elliott for the first six games.
0:26:15 > 0:26:18He has been banned by the NFL for domestic violence.
0:26:18 > 0:26:20The interesting thing about this story is that the NFL have looked
0:26:20 > 0:26:22at it with their conduct policy.
0:26:22 > 0:26:25Elliott himself hasn't actually been charged with anything by the police,
0:26:25 > 0:26:28but the NFL have taken a strong lead on this and said, this affects
0:26:28 > 0:26:31the image of our game and this is what we are doing.
0:26:31 > 0:26:34They are going to err on the side of caution every time.
0:26:34 > 0:26:36They are going to bring the hammer down.
0:26:36 > 0:26:38They will use a sledgehammer to knock that down.
0:26:38 > 0:26:40Because there is no place for that in our game.
0:26:40 > 0:26:42You don't need to be behaving like that.
0:26:42 > 0:26:45You don't need to be doing things or conducting yourself like that.
0:26:45 > 0:26:47Playing in the NFL is a privilege.
0:26:47 > 0:26:49If you go against that, this is exactly what happens,
0:26:49 > 0:26:51and I think they are correct.
0:26:51 > 0:26:54I think in his case, they've got to do something to take
0:26:54 > 0:26:55away something he loves.
0:26:55 > 0:26:56Because he keeps getting in trouble, right?
0:26:56 > 0:26:59This guy could be a star for a lot of years.
0:26:59 > 0:27:02You've got to give him the opportunity to improve on himself.
0:27:02 > 0:27:04It's a bit like the Houston conversation, it's tricky to then
0:27:04 > 0:27:07bring it back to football, but that's the nature of this show.
0:27:07 > 0:27:09How will it impact on the Cowboys at the start
0:27:09 > 0:27:13of the season, not having him?
0:27:13 > 0:27:15Zero impact whatsoever.
0:27:15 > 0:27:19And here is why I say that.
0:27:19 > 0:27:21Everybody thinks the Dallas Cowboys stars are Dak Prescott,
0:27:21 > 0:27:23Ezekiel Elliott or Dez Bryant, but they are not the stars.
0:27:23 > 0:27:26The stars of that team are the offensive line.
0:27:26 > 0:27:28These are the guys who have been dominating that position
0:27:28 > 0:27:30for the last five years.
0:27:30 > 0:27:33You had a guy by the name of Darren McFadden rush for 1000
0:27:33 > 0:27:35yards behind that offensive line, and he had done nothing
0:27:35 > 0:27:38in his entire NFL career.
0:27:38 > 0:27:41I'll put it to you like this, J Bell, Mark Chapman could rush
0:27:41 > 0:27:43for 1000 yards behind that offensive line, man!
0:27:43 > 0:27:45I'm telling you.
0:27:45 > 0:27:47You've just got early-season enthusiasm.
0:27:47 > 0:27:51No, no, he's an outstanding guy and it's an outstanding offensive
0:27:51 > 0:27:53line and they will continue to go through.
0:27:53 > 0:27:55I instinctively breathed in when you said that,
0:27:55 > 0:27:57to make myself more of an athlete.
0:27:57 > 0:28:00Your NFC favourites are...
0:28:00 > 0:28:04NFC favourite is Atlanta.
0:28:04 > 0:28:07You think they will be able to come back from
0:28:07 > 0:28:08the disappointment of the Super Bowl?
0:28:08 > 0:28:10That's why I was a little hesitant.
0:28:10 > 0:28:12It's going to be hard, but they have the talent.
0:28:12 > 0:28:14Green Bay.
0:28:14 > 0:28:16Green Bay, and your NFC dark horses?
0:28:16 > 0:28:17Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
0:28:17 > 0:28:19They have everything.
0:28:19 > 0:28:21On the defensive side they have everything,
0:28:21 > 0:28:23great pass rushers, great secondary.
0:28:23 > 0:28:25Offensive, great quarterback, great receivers and a good offensive line.
0:28:25 > 0:28:29I think these are what people are sleeping on right now.
0:28:29 > 0:28:31Your NFC dark horses?
0:28:31 > 0:28:34I would have to go for the New York Giants.
0:28:34 > 0:28:37Is that just because a rule of this show is that the Giants have to be
0:28:37 > 0:28:40mentioned at least once because you both played for them?
0:28:40 > 0:28:41Defense wins championships.
0:28:41 > 0:28:44And Eli gets hot, and when he gets hot, things can happen.
0:28:44 > 0:28:46All right, we've made a note of all those predictions
0:28:46 > 0:28:49and we will come back to them over the course of this season.
0:28:49 > 0:28:52Just before we go, we are back on Saturday, September 9th
0:28:52 > 0:28:55in the early hours of the morning with highlights of the opening
0:28:55 > 0:28:57game on Thursday as the Kansas City Chiefs -
0:28:57 > 0:28:59who, if you watch last year, you will remember Osi
0:28:59 > 0:29:02is a huge fan of them - and they visit the
0:29:02 > 0:29:03New England Patriots.
0:29:03 > 0:29:05And we preview the opening round of the regular season.
0:29:05 > 0:29:06That'll be from 12:15am.
0:29:06 > 0:29:09A further reminder, every Tuesday we will have extended
0:29:09 > 0:29:11highlights and all the fallout from the weekend's action
0:29:11 > 0:29:13on NFL This Week, and that will start on Tuesday,
0:29:13 > 0:29:14September 12th.
0:29:14 > 0:29:16Thank you to you for watching.
0:29:16 > 0:29:18We hope you will be with us through the whole season.
0:29:18 > 0:29:20Thank you to you two as well.
0:29:20 > 0:29:21We will see you next week.
0:29:21 > 0:29:23That's the new one, the Milly Rock.
0:29:23 > 0:29:26Is that the new dab!
0:29:34 > 0:29:38On the front line of Britain's fight to control immigration,
0:29:38 > 0:29:42a secret world of drugs, violence and abuse...
0:29:42 > 0:29:43Oi! Get off him.
0:29:43 > 0:29:46..where some foreign nationals are locked up
