0:00:10 > 0:00:13And it will be time for these two teams to settle it

0:00:13 > 0:00:14between the white lines.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16Elway, he's going to fire towards the end zone.

0:00:16 > 0:00:17Reno.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19Lost the ball up the near side.

0:00:19 > 0:00:20And Montana throws.

0:00:20 > 0:00:21In the end zone.

0:00:21 > 0:00:22Touchdown!

0:00:22 > 0:00:23Watchers looking down field.

0:00:23 > 0:00:24Going deep.

0:00:24 > 0:00:25The one man wrecking crew. Unbelievable!

0:00:25 > 0:00:26Let's go.

0:00:26 > 0:00:28How did he do that?

0:00:28 > 0:00:29The end zone...

0:00:29 > 0:00:30Oh, and caught, for the win.

0:00:30 > 0:00:38Unstoppable!

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Hello, it's the divisional round of the playoffs which means

0:00:44 > 0:00:49there are only eight teams remaining in the race to the Super Bowl.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52I'm once again joined by Osi Umenyiora and also a man whose

0:00:52 > 0:00:53reputation was on the line.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55A man whose predictions were as accurate as a

0:00:55 > 0:00:56Blake Bortles deep ball.

0:00:56 > 0:00:57A man desperate.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00First, it was funny, then it was kind of sad,

0:01:00 > 0:01:05but last week, when it mattered, it turns out he is in fact a stable

0:01:05 > 0:01:07genius, rising from the Ashes, stepping away from the Jobcentre...

0:01:07 > 0:01:08I'm quite emotional.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11Getting off the bench, Jason Bell is back in the game.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14I think they'll go in there, the pressure's off of them

0:01:14 > 0:01:16and that's why I'm going with Atlanta.

0:01:16 > 0:01:17COMMENTATOR:How about about this?

0:01:17 > 0:01:18High Five.

0:01:18 > 0:01:19I'm going with New Orleans.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22COMMENTATOR:This is the moment you've been waiting

0:01:22 > 0:01:23for your entire life.

0:01:23 > 0:01:24I've got to roll with them, Jacksonville.

0:01:24 > 0:01:31COMMENTATOR:Touchdown Jacksonville.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34You can always tell when somebody's not accustomed to winning!

0:01:34 > 0:01:40Oh.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42I thought you were going to say to running.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44I mean, act like you've been there.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47That's what my dad said, "Act like you've been there before."

0:01:47 > 0:01:48I didn't take his advice!

0:01:48 > 0:01:53Congratulations, JB.

0:01:53 > 0:01:54Thank you.

0:01:54 > 0:01:55Congratulations.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57I needed that.

0:01:57 > 0:01:58I appreciate the intro.

0:01:58 > 0:01:59# Celebrate good times, come on #.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03So on tonight's show - he is out of breath, by the way -

0:02:03 > 0:02:05we will be having a quick look back on last week's action,

0:02:05 > 0:02:08looking ahead to this weekend's fixtures and we'll be discussing

0:02:08 > 0:02:10next season's London games that were announced on Thursday.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13But first, let's see how last week's Wild Card games have

0:02:13 > 0:02:14shaped the playoffs.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17In the AFC, the Tennessee Titans surprised us all with a win

0:02:17 > 0:02:19at the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills were unable

0:02:19 > 0:02:23to get past a dogged Jacksonville Jaguars.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26So that means that this weekend the lower seeded Titans play

0:02:26 > 0:02:28the number one seeded New England Patriots,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30and the Jacksonville Jaguars head off to Pittsburgh to play

0:02:30 > 0:02:35the second seeded Steelers.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Now in the NFC, the New Orleans Saints are off to the Carolina

0:02:38 > 0:02:39Panthers for the third time this season.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42And the Atlanta Falcons stifled the Rams offense in LA to make

0:02:42 > 0:02:44it two NFC South teams in the final four.

0:02:44 > 0:02:48The Falcons, as the lowest progressing seed, are away

0:02:48 > 0:02:50to the number one seeded Philadelphia Eagles.

0:02:50 > 0:02:57That game is currently under way.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59The Saints play away to the number two seeds,

0:02:59 > 0:03:00the Minnesota Vikings.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02Again, just for clarity, this show was recorded before

0:03:02 > 0:03:06the kick-off of the Falcons-Eagles game, so we won't be speaking

0:03:06 > 0:03:09in much detail about that game.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12But overall, the weekend that went last weekend was a great

0:03:12 > 0:03:13weekend of football.

0:03:13 > 0:03:14Yes, it was.

0:03:14 > 0:03:15We saw some outstanding games.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18Some not so good games, but we also saw -One awful game.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20One awful game, but we saw some outstanding games.

0:03:20 > 0:03:21We saw some upsets.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24We saw exactly what the NFL playoffs is all about.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26Actually, something that was missing a little bit

0:03:26 > 0:03:28from last year's playoffs.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31There were a lot of blowouts last year, weren't they?

0:03:31 > 0:03:32Favourites always dominated in the playoffs last year,

0:03:32 > 0:03:35were we had a bit of surprise, we had some close games

0:03:35 > 0:03:36again this season.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37Absolutely.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39And, like Osi always says, parity, right.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41When you come to this point of the season,

0:03:41 > 0:03:44teams are evenly matched and it makes for great football.

0:03:44 > 0:03:46Three really exciting games, and one that wasn't!

0:03:46 > 0:03:49Before we start previewing this weekend's fixtures,

0:03:49 > 0:03:55we're going to show you one of the most unexpected

0:03:55 > 0:03:57highlights of last week, and that was the comeback

0:03:57 > 0:03:59of the Tennessee Titans against the Kansas City Chiefs,

0:03:59 > 0:04:02which nobody would have predicted before hand and nobody would have

0:04:02 > 0:04:03predicted at half time either.

0:04:03 > 0:04:04The Titans were 21-3 down.

0:04:04 > 0:04:06Nobody saw this coming.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09Everybody thought the Kansas City Chiefs were going to win the game.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11My own mother - who doesn't watch football -

0:04:11 > 0:04:14said Kansas City was going to win this football game,

0:04:14 > 0:04:16but the Tennessee Titans showed a tremendous amount of grit,

0:04:16 > 0:04:17coming back and winning this game.

0:04:17 > 0:04:18Yeah.

0:04:18 > 0:04:21I mean we touched on it on the Tuesday show, Jason,

0:04:21 > 0:04:24but it was all about putting faith in Marcus Mariota,

0:04:24 > 0:04:26their quarterback, to run the show for them.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29They said, go out there, be yourself, make plays happen.

0:04:29 > 0:04:37I mean, this play right here, what you can do about this?

0:04:41 > 0:04:43But ultimately, when he's moving around and making things happen,

0:04:43 > 0:04:45that's when he's effective.

0:04:45 > 0:04:46Sorry, I was going to say.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48If you manage to throw a touchdown pass to yourself,

0:04:48 > 0:04:51you must assume that it's going to be your night?

0:04:51 > 0:04:52You can't lose the game!

0:04:52 > 0:04:54You cannot throw a touchdown pass to yourself and lose

0:04:54 > 0:04:56the game after that - no possible way.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59You can have as many schemes and as many cards

0:04:59 > 0:05:01over your microphone and have as many plays as possible,

0:05:01 > 0:05:04but I guarantee that one wouldn't have been on the play call.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06I mean, sometimes it's just your day, man.

0:05:06 > 0:05:08Sometimes you're just flat out lucky, and this

0:05:08 > 0:05:09was one of those plays.

0:05:09 > 0:05:13We praise Mariota, what about Derrick Henry as well?

0:05:13 > 0:05:16We're seeing his 35 yard touchdown run here and at this stage

0:05:16 > 0:05:18Kansas City were leading 21-16, Jason.

0:05:18 > 0:05:20Yeah, the thing about him is he's a big physical back

0:05:20 > 0:05:23and he was complaining about being soft the week before,

0:05:23 > 0:05:26and you see what happens when you give a guy like that

0:05:26 > 0:05:28carries and carries and carries, he wears down the defense.

0:05:28 > 0:05:33He was very physical, and that's how he ran it.

0:05:33 > 0:05:34Yeah, some running backs they enjoy contact.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37They go seeking contact when they run the football

0:05:37 > 0:05:40whereas other guys run out-of-bounds and they get down before the tackle.

0:05:40 > 0:05:43So when he said running soft, he meant, you know, maybe he wasn't

0:05:43 > 0:05:45looking for the contact, he was running away from tackles.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47But this game he wasn't running soft at all.

0:05:47 > 0:05:48He was punching.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51They went with long drives did Tennessee 3rd quarter, 4th quarter.

0:05:51 > 0:05:53You both play defense, that just tires and wears

0:05:53 > 0:05:55down a defense, does it?

0:05:55 > 0:06:00Especially with a physical running back.

0:06:00 > 0:06:03In that 3rd and 4th quarter, you don't want to tackle

0:06:03 > 0:06:06that guy any more.

0:06:06 > 0:06:09He's been hitting you, you're tired, you're sore and he's coming

0:06:09 > 0:06:11and coming and coming, and that's what happened.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13You saw them take over the game because of that.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16Absolutely no worse than them having the team pound the football

0:06:16 > 0:06:19down your throat over and over again, and that's exactly what

0:06:19 > 0:06:20the Tennessee Titans were built for.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23That's something they had gotten away from throughout this season,

0:06:23 > 0:06:25but they went right back to against Kansas City.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28So for this defeat, and again we spoke about it on the

0:06:28 > 0:06:30Tuesday night show, but the Kansas City offense has

0:06:30 > 0:06:32to take some sort of blame and their play caller,

0:06:32 > 0:06:35their offensive co-ordinator - who's now actually gone to be the head

0:06:35 > 0:06:38coach at the Chicago Bears - for not keeping the Kansas City offense

0:06:38 > 0:06:39on the field enough?

0:06:39 > 0:06:42Kansas City Chiefs always the bridesmaids, never the bride.

0:06:42 > 0:06:44I mean, they always seem to get to this point,

0:06:44 > 0:06:46especially under Andy Reid, and somehow find a way

0:06:46 > 0:06:48to lose the football game.

0:06:48 > 0:06:50There's no possible way they should have lost this game.

0:06:50 > 0:06:52Obviously Travis Kelce, their outstanding footballer,

0:06:52 > 0:06:54tied in, got injured, but still they had enough

0:06:54 > 0:06:56weapons to continue doing what they were supposed to do

0:06:56 > 0:06:58and ended up losing the game.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00Those weapons didn't make the plays when Travis Kelce went out.

0:07:00 > 0:07:03I mean, there was almost four or five drop passes.

0:07:03 > 0:07:05Alex Smith actually played a really good game.

0:07:05 > 0:07:07The guys needed to step it up, and they didn't.

0:07:07 > 0:07:08OK.

0:07:08 > 0:07:11Well, the Titans must have been elated going into that changing

0:07:11 > 0:07:13room after the game, until somebody reminded them

0:07:13 > 0:07:17who their next opponents were.

0:07:17 > 0:07:20COMMENTATOR:Driving forward, diving to the goalline!

0:07:20 > 0:07:22And touchdown.

0:07:22 > 0:07:24And the title for the Patriots.

0:07:24 > 0:07:28I can't believe it, I can't believe it!

0:07:28 > 0:07:31The New England Patriots, the reigning champions,

0:07:31 > 0:07:33coached by Bill Belichick, ruled by their head coach

0:07:33 > 0:07:34like no other team.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37COMMENTATOR:Well New England, you have the best football team

0:07:37 > 0:07:40in the world right now.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Under Belichick, the Patriots are five-times Super Bowl champions -

0:07:43 > 0:07:49it helps to have Tom Brady and the Gronk.

0:07:49 > 0:07:51COMMENTATOR:Gronkowski, makes a twisting one handed catch.

0:07:51 > 0:07:54Oh, superhuman.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57They looked a little out of sorts early in the regular season,

0:07:57 > 0:08:00but finished in more familiar style.

0:08:00 > 0:08:07It runs through their veins - never write us off.

0:08:07 > 0:08:09Do you give them a chance?

0:08:09 > 0:08:13I give every team in the NFL a chance, but it's going to be

0:08:13 > 0:08:17a hard game, a difficult battle.

0:08:17 > 0:08:19But ultimately, one thing you can't account for is injuries and,

0:08:19 > 0:08:22when something like that happens, so I always give a team a chance.

0:08:22 > 0:08:23Nice answer.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26Kind of sitting on the fence, but nice answer.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28Well, you know I'm not sitting on the fence.

0:08:28 > 0:08:29No, I know.

0:08:29 > 0:08:30Zero chance.

0:08:30 > 0:08:32They have zero chance of winning this game, Mark.

0:08:32 > 0:08:33No way.

0:08:33 > 0:08:36You have to think about what's going on with the New England Patriots,

0:08:36 > 0:08:37specially this week.

0:08:37 > 0:08:40There's a lot of nonsense going on about Bill Belichick

0:08:40 > 0:08:42and Robert Kraft and Tom Brady.

0:08:42 > 0:08:45This is a team that prides itself on stomping on people's necks,

0:08:45 > 0:08:46especially in adverse situations.

0:08:46 > 0:08:49They're going to come out and try and make a statement

0:08:49 > 0:08:50against the Tennessee Titans.

0:08:50 > 0:08:58Unfortunately for Tennessee, The story ends here are for them.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01Let's talk about the nonsense then that's been going

0:09:01 > 0:09:02on around the Patriots.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04So rumours that Belichick wanted out and could end up

0:09:04 > 0:09:07coaching the Giants which, obviously, with your two allegiances

0:09:07 > 0:09:08with your two allegiances,

0:09:08 > 0:09:11would be hilarious from my point of view going forward.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13As you say, disagreements between Belichick and Brady and Kraft.

0:09:13 > 0:09:15The organisation themselves have said it's nonsense.

0:09:15 > 0:09:16Do you believe any of it?

0:09:16 > 0:09:18Do any of these stories come out of nowhere?

0:09:18 > 0:09:26I mean, where there's smoke there's fight, right,

0:09:26 > 0:09:27-- fire

0:09:27 > 0:09:30but ultimately the timing of it just let's me know that they're trying

0:09:30 > 0:09:33to do anything to being no the New England Patriots

0:09:33 > 0:09:34off their mark.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36The fact they traded away Garoppolo for a second round pick.

0:09:36 > 0:09:42This is essentially what they sdchl have you the Lion King

0:09:42 > 0:09:43You have the Lion King

0:09:43 > 0:09:45and you have Simba, you always pick Simba

0:09:45 > 0:09:46over the Lion King.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48They chose the Lion King in the end.

0:09:48 > 0:09:50This is something the New England Patriots would never do,

0:09:50 > 0:09:53and they did this, which means that there's something going

0:09:53 > 0:09:54on behind-the-scenes.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56Tom Brady probably felt threatened by Jimmy Garoppolo.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58Knew they weren't going to keep him behind for another

0:09:58 > 0:09:59three or four years.

0:09:59 > 0:10:00They had to do something.

0:10:00 > 0:10:02There's something to this story, Mark.

0:10:02 > 0:10:03They've got the same agent, Osi.

0:10:03 > 0:10:04There's something, there's something.

0:10:04 > 0:10:06They could have forced their hand.

0:10:06 > 0:10:07There's something to this story.

0:10:07 > 0:10:09So do you think Kraft wants to protect Brady?

0:10:09 > 0:10:10Yes.

0:10:10 > 0:10:13But Belichick would have been happy to, at the end of the season,

0:10:13 > 0:10:15to cut Brady and then play Garoppolo?

0:10:15 > 0:10:16Is that how you read it?

0:10:16 > 0:10:19If I know Bill Belichick, over the 17, 18 years

0:10:19 > 0:10:21that he's been there, that is something he

0:10:21 > 0:10:22would absolutely do.

0:10:22 > 0:10:23That is something he would absolutely do.

0:10:23 > 0:10:25They've done wonderful things together, but the time...

0:10:25 > 0:10:27He wants to keep on coaching.

0:10:27 > 0:10:30Brady is 40, going into 41, 42, Jimmy Garoppolo is a young stud.

0:10:30 > 0:10:32You want to keep a guy like that.

0:10:32 > 0:10:34I think Kraft chose Brady over what Belichick actually wanted.

0:10:34 > 0:10:36So a prediction on this one?

0:10:36 > 0:10:37Going with New England.

0:10:37 > 0:10:38I thought you might do.

0:10:38 > 0:10:39New England.

0:10:39 > 0:10:40No doubt.

0:10:40 > 0:10:42Right, the other AFC Wild Card matchup last weekend

0:10:42 > 0:10:45was between the Buffalo Bills, who haven't been to the playoffs

0:10:45 > 0:10:48in 18 years, and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who haven't won a playoff

0:10:48 > 0:10:49game at home for 18 years.

0:10:49 > 0:10:55Coincidentally, the game felt like it lasted 18 years!

0:10:55 > 0:10:59Hey, I want you to go back in time, man, and think about a time

0:10:59 > 0:11:02you were thinking to yourself - man, if I could have a chance

0:11:02 > 0:11:03to get in the playoffs.

0:11:03 > 0:11:04# Can we Buffalo.

0:11:04 > 0:11:05# Can we Buffalo.

0:11:05 > 0:11:06# Can we Buffalo #.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08A game of stifling defense.

0:11:08 > 0:11:13COMMENTATOR:Here come the big people.

0:11:13 > 0:11:17The player with the most rushing yards on the day,

0:11:17 > 0:11:20step forward - or run forward - Blake Bortles.

0:11:20 > 0:11:24COMMENTATOR:Bortles doing it with his legs.

0:11:24 > 0:11:26How good were the defensive operations?

0:11:26 > 0:11:28This good.

0:11:28 > 0:11:31COMMENTATOR:They give to Fournette, he tries to hurdle over.

0:11:31 > 0:11:32I don't think he got there.

0:11:32 > 0:11:35What a play!

0:11:35 > 0:11:37The one touchdown, Ben Koyack.

0:11:37 > 0:11:39COMMENTATOR:Play fake.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42They want to throw it back in the end zone to Ben Koyack.

0:11:42 > 0:11:44Caught at the back of the end zone.

0:11:44 > 0:11:49Touchdown Jacksonville.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51The Jaguars travel on to face the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

0:11:51 > 0:11:53That wasn't very good, was it?

0:11:53 > 0:11:56It showed you what good defense can do.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59Oh, don't give me that nonsense, honestly.

0:11:59 > 0:12:02That's what always happens.

0:12:02 > 0:12:04If it's a 0-0 in our football people say -

0:12:04 > 0:12:06oh, great defense, great defense.

0:12:06 > 0:12:07You're talking to two defenders here.

0:12:07 > 0:12:08I know.

0:12:08 > 0:12:09We love this.

0:12:09 > 0:12:13But, you know, we're meant to be about entertainment - well, not us -

0:12:13 > 0:12:15but sport's meant to be about entertainment, isn't it?

0:12:15 > 0:12:16It will.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19But I tell you this, it did show you that a good defense

0:12:19 > 0:12:20could be effective in the play-offs.

0:12:20 > 0:12:21Yes.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23We always preached that and we saw that.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26Did you sit there watching that game thinking, "oh, great defense"

0:12:26 > 0:12:27or were you a bit bored?

0:12:27 > 0:12:28Be honest.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31I tell you what, Mark, it made me appreciate good football

0:12:31 > 0:12:33when I saw how bad those two teams played.

0:12:33 > 0:12:36I knew right then that we needed to see some better offense.

0:12:36 > 0:12:39I mean, come on man, Blake Bortles, did you see the throws

0:12:39 > 0:12:40he was making or not making?

0:12:40 > 0:12:42I mean, the Buffalo Bills trying to run...

0:12:42 > 0:12:44I mean, it was just bad football all around.

0:12:44 > 0:12:46Good defensive play, like we said.

0:12:46 > 0:12:48We saw some really good things on defense, but overall

0:12:48 > 0:12:50just not a very fun game to watch.

0:12:50 > 0:12:51OK.

0:12:51 > 0:12:54Well let's move on from that then, the Jacksonville Jaguars progressed,

0:12:54 > 0:12:58they go on to play at the fortress that is Heinz Field in the middle

0:12:58 > 0:13:00of the bleak Pittsburgh winter.

0:13:00 > 0:13:06The Pittsburgh Steelers, the oldest franchise in the AFC,

0:13:06 > 0:13:10the most successful team in Super Bowl history -

0:13:10 > 0:13:12six times the champions.

0:13:12 > 0:13:14COMMENTATOR:Ben Roethlisberger, the youngest quarterback ever

0:13:14 > 0:13:16to win a Super Bowl.

0:13:16 > 0:13:18A-listers with the killer bees.

0:13:18 > 0:13:26Now it's time to come out here and have a little fun.

0:13:28 > 0:13:36Antonio Brown.

0:13:38 > 0:13:39COMMENTATOR: Who else.

0:13:39 > 0:13:40Would you believe that!

0:13:40 > 0:13:41Le'Veon Bell.

0:13:41 > 0:13:42Hey, just watch.

0:13:42 > 0:13:43Just watch.

0:13:43 > 0:13:44Then then the quarterback, Roethlisberger.

0:13:44 > 0:13:47Big Ben said this season that maybe he'd lost it.

0:13:47 > 0:13:48I don't have it any more.

0:13:48 > 0:13:50"B", back then, is for baloney.

0:13:50 > 0:13:51COMMENTATOR:Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown.

0:13:51 > 0:13:52He's back.

0:13:52 > 0:13:53Incredible.

0:13:53 > 0:13:55So what makes this really interesting this matchup is that

0:13:55 > 0:13:57Jacksonville demolished Pittsburgh when they played in the regular

0:13:57 > 0:13:59season by 30 points to 9.

0:13:59 > 0:14:01I mean, they played the best game of their lives

0:14:01 > 0:14:04and Big Ben Roethlisberger played the worst game he's ever played,

0:14:04 > 0:14:08give interceptions.

0:14:08 > 0:14:09-- five

0:14:09 > 0:14:11He just had a horrible day.

0:14:11 > 0:14:13So you might think that the Jacksonville Jaguars

0:14:13 > 0:14:15have his number, I think that the Jacksonville

0:14:15 > 0:14:16Jaguars have his number.

0:14:16 > 0:14:18I think they're going to win -Do you?

0:14:18 > 0:14:19I absolutely do.

0:14:19 > 0:14:21I think defensively they're going to be able to shut down

0:14:21 > 0:14:22the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense.

0:14:22 > 0:14:25Who knows what Blake Bortles is going to do, who knows.

0:14:25 > 0:14:28But I think defensively I think they're going to be

0:14:28 > 0:14:29able to carry the day.

0:14:29 > 0:14:30I'm picking Jacksonville.

0:14:30 > 0:14:31Where do you come with this logic?

0:14:31 > 0:14:33There's nothing logical about this.

0:14:33 > 0:14:34Yes.

0:14:34 > 0:14:36First of all, that was a different game.

0:14:36 > 0:14:37Why?

0:14:37 > 0:14:38That was a different team.

0:14:38 > 0:14:39Why?

0:14:39 > 0:14:41Because offensively they weren't clicking like they are now.

0:14:41 > 0:14:42OK.

0:14:42 > 0:14:43Ultimately, JuJu...

0:14:43 > 0:14:46My man JuJu - Long Beach California, shout out -

0:14:46 > 0:14:47Is playing great football.

0:14:47 > 0:14:48And ultimately, this was going to happen.

0:14:48 > 0:14:50Defensively they're not going to play as aggressive

0:14:50 > 0:14:53because they know they can't give up one big play to Pittsburgh.

0:14:53 > 0:14:55Jacksonville can't do that because they can't score.

0:14:55 > 0:14:58So you saw last game they even played different defensively.

0:14:58 > 0:15:00All the Pittsburgh Steelers have to do is score 21 points.

0:15:00 > 0:15:03Jason, who knows which Blake Bortles is going to show up?

0:15:03 > 0:15:04He is the most inconsistent quarterback we have

0:15:04 > 0:15:06had in this year.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08But if he gets hot, like he did late there in December,

0:15:08 > 0:15:11and the Jacksonville Jaguars play defense the way they've been

0:15:11 > 0:15:13playing the entire season, the Jacksonville Jaguars can

0:15:13 > 0:15:14absolutely win this game.

0:15:14 > 0:15:17OK, but there are so many things to question you both about that.

0:15:17 > 0:15:19That point first of all, if Pittsburgh get ahead early,

0:15:19 > 0:15:23whatever Blake Bortles turns up, they won't get back

0:15:23 > 0:15:24into it, will they, because they struggle

0:15:24 > 0:15:27to chase a game - that is what we have

0:15:27 > 0:15:28seen this season.

0:15:28 > 0:15:30I'll give you that, I will 100% give you that.

0:15:30 > 0:15:31If they get behind.

0:15:31 > 0:15:34But how are they going to get behind in the first place?

0:15:34 > 0:15:36You completely underestimate the strength of this

0:15:36 > 0:15:37Jacksonville Jaguars defense.

0:15:37 > 0:15:39They are outstanding.

0:15:39 > 0:15:40Great pressure, great linebackers.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42The DBs can cover. This is a great team.

0:15:42 > 0:15:44Do you think they will be aggressive

0:15:44 > 0:15:46against this Pittsburgh offense, because Jason, you are

0:15:46 > 0:15:48insinuating they might be a bit more conservative.

0:15:48 > 0:15:50They were last week.

0:15:50 > 0:15:53Not go for the big plays, because they cannot give up

0:15:53 > 0:15:56a big play against them. Do you disagree with that?

0:15:56 > 0:15:59They are going to have to be aggressive, because they know

0:15:59 > 0:16:02for a fact that they can't get down to the Pittsburgh Steelers,

0:16:02 > 0:16:05or else there is going to be no way back for them.

0:16:05 > 0:16:07They are going to play the exact same way they played...

0:16:07 > 0:16:09Pittsburgh is going to do their research.

0:16:09 > 0:16:11Pittsburgh are going to come out and be like, OK,

0:16:11 > 0:16:14we can't allow the same things that happened last game

0:16:14 > 0:16:15to happen this game.

0:16:15 > 0:16:17But I am betting on the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense.

0:16:17 > 0:16:18You're hilarious. I mean, you're hilarious.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20You've got two dominant quarters.

0:16:20 > 0:16:22I watch them, I watch how they play.

0:16:22 > 0:16:23These guys were in off coverage all game.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25That made me know...

0:16:25 > 0:16:26Ramsey and Bouye? Yes.

0:16:26 > 0:16:28They were told, don't give up the big play,

0:16:28 > 0:16:30we've got to keep everything in front of us because

0:16:30 > 0:16:31we can't score points.

0:16:31 > 0:16:34Your defense reacts to how your offense plays and they do not have

0:16:34 > 0:16:35any confidence in their offense.

0:16:35 > 0:16:38And defensively, the way Pittsburgh runs that zone coverage,

0:16:38 > 0:16:42Blake Bortles doesn't have a chance to attack that defense.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45We are going to see who is the stable genius.

0:16:45 > 0:16:50Will you be doing a lap of the studio?

0:16:50 > 0:16:52Mine is going to be completely different.

0:16:52 > 0:16:57I am going to be doing somersaults, backflips, the whole nine.

0:16:57 > 0:17:01A couple of other points on this.

0:17:01 > 0:17:05Big Ben said he wanted Jacksonville to get through so that he could take

0:17:05 > 0:17:07revenge from what happened earlier in the season.

0:17:07 > 0:17:09The two corners we have spoken about responded with,

0:17:09 > 0:17:13be careful what you wish for.

0:17:13 > 0:17:15The thing I've noticed about Jacksonville this season

0:17:15 > 0:17:20is they are not afraid of voicing their opinions.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23That defense is amazing and those corners, they are the best duo

0:17:23 > 0:17:25I have seen in a long time.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27So you're going...? Pittsburgh.

0:17:27 > 0:17:32Jaguars. Wow!

0:17:32 > 0:17:34I have a horrible feeling you could be somersaulting

0:17:34 > 0:17:36through this studio next week.

0:17:36 > 0:17:38Over to the NFC.

0:17:38 > 0:17:41Last week, we had two games that were hard to call.

0:17:41 > 0:17:43The Carolina Panthers at the New Orleans Saints

0:17:43 > 0:17:47and the Atlanta Falcons at the LA Rams.

0:17:47 > 0:17:49Bringing World Championships to the Carolinas is not

0:17:49 > 0:17:51just Newton's goal.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54He believes it to be his destiny.

0:17:54 > 0:18:00It is time right now to take the next step!

0:18:00 > 0:18:03The Carolina Panthers at the New Orleans Saints.

0:18:03 > 0:18:06The Saints with all the touchdowns.

0:18:06 > 0:18:09Wide open from the touchdown, Josh Hill.

0:18:09 > 0:18:13I feel like taking a shot with Teddy's play.

0:18:13 > 0:18:15Ted Ginn, in his hands.

0:18:15 > 0:18:20Ted Ginn will go all the way.

0:18:20 > 0:18:22You've got to love it!

0:18:22 > 0:18:26Suddenly, Greg Olsen to put the Panthers within five points.

0:18:26 > 0:18:27Fast ball over the middle.

0:18:27 > 0:18:29Caught Olsen, touchdown.

0:18:29 > 0:18:33Wow, this is an easy pitch and catch.

0:18:33 > 0:18:35And Cam Newton just quietens the crowd.

0:18:35 > 0:18:37We said we're not looking at the scoreboard!

0:18:37 > 0:18:40Alvin Kamara putting new distance between the teams.

0:18:40 > 0:18:44Christian McCaffrey making that cushion none too comfortable.

0:18:44 > 0:18:46Touchdown.

0:18:46 > 0:18:4911 seconds to go in a Wild Card playoff game.

0:18:49 > 0:18:56It comes down to this.

0:18:56 > 0:18:58Here is Newton, under pressure.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00He is going to be tackled and sacked and that is

0:19:00 > 0:19:04the final play of this game.

0:19:04 > 0:19:09The Saints through to face the Minnesota Vikings next.

0:19:09 > 0:19:12You have worked your butt off to this moment.

0:19:12 > 0:19:15This is the moment you have been waiting for your entire life.

0:19:15 > 0:19:17The Atlanta Falcons at the LA Rams.

0:19:17 > 0:19:22Touchdowns giving a sparkle to the first half.

0:19:22 > 0:19:26Into the end zone for the touchdown!

0:19:26 > 0:19:30One for Devonta Freeman.

0:19:30 > 0:19:32One for Cooper Kupp.

0:19:32 > 0:19:33Off his back foot.

0:19:33 > 0:19:40Nearside, end zone.

0:19:40 > 0:19:42Cooper Kupp, touchdown LA.

0:19:42 > 0:19:43Games like this make you strong.

0:19:43 > 0:19:45Atlanta always in front, making the game safe

0:19:45 > 0:19:48through Julio Jones.

0:19:48 > 0:19:49Jones the catch.

0:19:49 > 0:19:50Touchdown Atlanta.

0:19:50 > 0:19:53Wow!

0:19:53 > 0:19:56The Falcons go to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round.

0:19:56 > 0:19:57That was a tough one, man.

0:19:57 > 0:20:01They are good, bro.

0:20:01 > 0:20:04You predicted that the Rams would beat the Falcons last week.

0:20:04 > 0:20:07So the defeat will have surprised you.

0:20:07 > 0:20:10My heart wanted the Falcons to win.

0:20:10 > 0:20:12I wanted the Falcons to win.

0:20:12 > 0:20:13But you went with your head?

0:20:13 > 0:20:16I did go with my head and my head was wrong.

0:20:16 > 0:20:19Where do you see...

0:20:19 > 0:20:21In so many ways it's hard!

0:20:21 > 0:20:24Where do you see them going from here, the Rams?

0:20:24 > 0:20:25Obviously, they are a good young team.

0:20:25 > 0:20:27Good young nucleus.

0:20:27 > 0:20:28They have a good young head coach.

0:20:28 > 0:20:30They are going to build from this.

0:20:30 > 0:20:32This is a learning experience for them.

0:20:32 > 0:20:34Even though I thought they might have won this game,

0:20:34 > 0:20:37I did not think they would go far in the playoffs, because

0:20:37 > 0:20:38they're just too young.

0:20:38 > 0:20:40I think the next couple of years, you will see

0:20:40 > 0:20:41this team really mature.

0:20:41 > 0:20:44And over the next couple of years, you might see this

0:20:44 > 0:20:45team win a Super Bowl. of years, you might see this

0:20:45 > 0:20:47And where next for the Panthers? of years, you might see this

0:20:47 > 0:20:49Panthers, they've got to get that line fixed.

0:20:49 > 0:20:52Obviously, that has been an issue and that was an issue last year

0:20:52 > 0:20:55and ultimately you saw in this game, Cam taking too many hits.

0:20:55 > 0:20:57I think they have got to get that tightened up.

0:20:57 > 0:20:58Just that?

0:20:58 > 0:21:00They need other playmakers on the outside, too.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03But I feel like the front has to get handled first.

0:21:03 > 0:21:04You've got to protect him.

0:21:04 > 0:21:06But they need one more playmaker on the outside,

0:21:06 > 0:21:08one more receiver and make Funchess your number two guy.

0:21:08 > 0:21:10As we said earlier, rather hopefully, the Atlanta-Philadelphia

0:21:10 > 0:21:12game has already kicked off, so we won't be

0:21:12 > 0:21:16discussing that right now.

0:21:16 > 0:21:19You can join us on Tuesday for NFL This Week and we will have

0:21:19 > 0:21:21highlights and analysis of that game.

0:21:21 > 0:21:24The other NFC fixture will be played tomorrow and that is between

0:21:24 > 0:21:25the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.

0:21:25 > 0:21:28The Minnesota Vikings.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30This is a slice of Iceland on the upper reaches

0:21:30 > 0:21:32of the Mississippi River.

0:21:32 > 0:21:34The Vikings, big on defense.

0:21:34 > 0:21:38Oh!

0:21:38 > 0:21:43A little light on the end product.

0:21:43 > 0:21:48They've been to four Super Bowls and lost them all.

0:21:48 > 0:21:50For the Minnesota Vikings, Super Bowl VIII was

0:21:50 > 0:21:53a strange nightmare.

0:21:53 > 0:21:58But the spur this season, the US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis,

0:21:58 > 0:22:01home of these Minnesota Vikings, will host Super Bowl LII.

0:22:01 > 0:22:02Caught.

0:22:02 > 0:22:06Touchdown, Vikings!

0:22:06 > 0:22:08The glow that has already reheated the career

0:22:08 > 0:22:12of the unheralded Case Keenum.

0:22:12 > 0:22:18Touchdown!

0:22:18 > 0:22:21On Tuesday's show, we spent a lot of time looking at Drew Brees

0:22:21 > 0:22:24and the New Orleans offense.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27This evening, we're going to look at how Minnesota's defense might

0:22:27 > 0:22:28cope with Drew Brees.

0:22:28 > 0:22:31On the show - which has been renamed Jason And Friends -

0:22:31 > 0:22:34you are going to talk us through Harrison Smith, your friend.

0:22:34 > 0:22:36My friend.

0:22:36 > 0:22:38Look at the guy's smile.

0:22:38 > 0:22:41He looks like he's ready to steal your girlfriend right now.

0:22:41 > 0:22:44Like, come here, girl.

0:22:44 > 0:22:47He is trying to throw me off of my game.

0:22:47 > 0:22:48But you can't.

0:22:48 > 0:22:50Because, guess why, we're talking about my guy, Harrison Smith.

0:22:50 > 0:22:56Mr Steal Your Girl.

0:22:56 > 0:22:59What makes him so good is that he makes your defense right.

0:22:59 > 0:23:01We always talk about difference makers, or people that

0:23:01 > 0:23:04make your defense right, and I want to go through some

0:23:04 > 0:23:05things and show you that.

0:23:05 > 0:23:07And you are going through what happened when the Saints

0:23:07 > 0:23:09and Vikings met earlier this season?

0:23:09 > 0:23:10One play will be like that, yes.

0:23:10 > 0:23:12We'll start with that for you.

0:23:12 > 0:23:13OK, it's all yours.

0:23:13 > 0:23:17This is when they met earlier this year.

0:23:17 > 0:23:19I want to show you something, I'm going to highlight this guy.

0:23:19 > 0:23:20I want to show you something, I'm going to highlight this guy.

0:23:20 > 0:23:24What is going to happen is Harrison is going to drop

0:23:24 > 0:23:27down into a cover 3 zone and he is going to have a defender

0:23:27 > 0:23:31come into his area and then he is going to have another guy,

0:23:31 > 0:23:32so he has two threats.

0:23:32 > 0:23:34And he is going to make the team right.

0:23:34 > 0:23:35You see him move around.

0:23:35 > 0:23:36He comes down.

0:23:36 > 0:23:39He has the flat over here and he has two guys to worry about.

0:23:39 > 0:23:42He is in between them and he plays right in between them

0:23:42 > 0:23:45and makes your team right, because, in the zone

0:23:45 > 0:23:47coverage, in three deep man, that is what they want to do.

0:23:47 > 0:23:51They want to run one guy out of there and bring another offensive

0:23:51 > 0:23:52player behind you and drop the ball in.

0:23:52 > 0:23:53He made them right.

0:23:53 > 0:23:56So very hard play to defend.

0:23:56 > 0:23:59Let's look at another cover 3 concept.

0:23:59 > 0:24:01And there is Harrison Smith again.

0:24:01 > 0:24:05And now I want to highlight this man.

0:24:05 > 0:24:07What is he responsible for in cover 3?

0:24:07 > 0:24:08He is responsible for this flat.

0:24:08 > 0:24:11If anything comes out this flat, he has a deep third defender

0:24:11 > 0:24:13and he is responsible for this flat.

0:24:13 > 0:24:17These are things that beat that, but he makes them right.

0:24:17 > 0:24:20But the guy he is responsible for, despite him being responsible

0:24:20 > 0:24:23for that lane, the guy he is responsible for is

0:24:23 > 0:24:26on the other side of the field at the moment and probably blocked

0:24:26 > 0:24:31by maybe two or three players from Harrison's eyeline.

0:24:31 > 0:24:35Exactly. Now you can watch him react to that.

0:24:35 > 0:24:40He is going to do something we call plaster,

0:24:40 > 0:24:43which is when the quarterback moves, you have to lock up with your guy

0:24:43 > 0:24:46in your zone and man coverage, and that is what he does.

0:24:46 > 0:24:48This is significant, how he pulls this off.

0:24:48 > 0:24:49He drops down into his responsibility.

0:24:49 > 0:24:51He sees the threat.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54Now he sees the quarterback on the move and you see him lock up

0:24:54 > 0:24:56with the man-to-man and he makes a play again.

0:24:56 > 0:24:59Once again, he makes the defense right.

0:24:59 > 0:25:02That's what great players do.

0:25:02 > 0:25:04Now, two pass game things.

0:25:04 > 0:25:08Let's see him get in the run game.

0:25:08 > 0:25:10OK, let's see him get dirty right there.

0:25:10 > 0:25:11There is Harrison.

0:25:11 > 0:25:13What he has is this gap right here.

0:25:13 > 0:25:14You will see the play happen.

0:25:14 > 0:25:18It moves, he is blitzing the gap, but you will see how physical

0:25:18 > 0:25:21he is and he just makes everybody look good because he shoots the gap

0:25:21 > 0:25:24and he comes down and loads them up.

0:25:24 > 0:25:26That's what Harrison does.

0:25:26 > 0:25:28Do you want to see that again?

0:25:28 > 0:25:31You have got to hear the sound he makes when he hits.

0:25:31 > 0:25:36All the way back, you did not know I could do that!

0:25:36 > 0:25:38Let me hear that sound again.

0:25:38 > 0:25:41How does it happen?

0:25:41 > 0:25:44Fire!

0:25:44 > 0:25:47But that one is significant because the Saints have two very,

0:25:47 > 0:25:49very good running backs, so how he defends against

0:25:49 > 0:25:54the running game will be important, as well.

0:25:54 > 0:25:56It is not just Drew Brees.

0:25:56 > 0:25:59Absolutely, because what he is going to do, those linebackers will be

0:25:59 > 0:26:02responsible for the running backs, but the opening gap will always be

0:26:02 > 0:26:03one of the safeties, usually Harrison Smith,

0:26:03 > 0:26:06and you see what happens when he goes down and he can make

0:26:06 > 0:26:08a tackle and it will be physical.

0:26:08 > 0:26:10Are you going for your friend in this game?

0:26:10 > 0:26:13Come on, Mark, you know the deal, Vikings all the way.

0:26:13 > 0:26:14Vikings all the way.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16Going with Saints. Why?

0:26:16 > 0:26:20I just feel like these guys are on a roll and you have to think

0:26:20 > 0:26:23about the things these guys have been through to get to this point.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25They had to battle through the NFC South.

0:26:25 > 0:26:26The toughest division of football.

0:26:26 > 0:26:27Beating all those teams.

0:26:27 > 0:26:29Minnesota has gone through nothing. Green Bay, Detroit, nobodies.

0:26:29 > 0:26:31I mean, New Orleans Saints went through hell...

0:26:31 > 0:26:34LAUGHTER.

0:26:34 > 0:26:37The Saints went through hell, I'm picking them to go

0:26:37 > 0:26:39through this game, simply because of their experience.

0:26:39 > 0:26:41I can't even watch the games with you this week.

0:26:41 > 0:26:43I can't even be next to you.

0:26:43 > 0:26:45Let's remind you where we are at with the divisional

0:26:45 > 0:26:53games in the NFL, as far as the AFC is concerned.

0:26:53 > 0:26:55The low-seeded Tennessee Titans going to New England

0:26:55 > 0:26:56to take on the Patriots.

0:26:56 > 0:26:59Then you have Pittsburgh at home to Jacksonville.

0:26:59 > 0:27:01As far as the NFC is concerned, Atlanta got through

0:27:01 > 0:27:04against the rounds and now they are favourites to beat

0:27:04 > 0:27:06the top-seeded Eagles.

0:27:06 > 0:27:08That game taking place at the moment.

0:27:08 > 0:27:11And as we have just been discussing, the New Orleans Saints go

0:27:11 > 0:27:14to the Minnesota Vikings.

0:27:14 > 0:27:16And here is where those games will be played.

0:27:16 > 0:27:19Tennessee Titans at the Patriots is later on this evening.

0:27:19 > 0:27:22Jaguars-Steelers is tomorrow early evening, followed by the Saints

0:27:22 > 0:27:26and Vikings at 9:40pm.

0:27:26 > 0:27:29And just to end, we can show you the London games that

0:27:29 > 0:27:33were announced for 2018 on Thursday.

0:27:33 > 0:27:36Some really interesting matchups, as well.

0:27:36 > 0:27:39Seahawks and the Raiders at the brand-new Spurs ground,

0:27:39 > 0:27:43which will be like a tester for the ground.

0:27:43 > 0:27:47Then they will have a couple of fixtures every year.

0:27:47 > 0:27:50We have also got the Eagles and the Jaguars, which could be

0:27:50 > 0:27:51this year's Super Bowl.

0:27:51 > 0:27:53Could be.

0:27:53 > 0:27:55Probably won't be, but it could be.

0:27:55 > 0:28:01And the Titans and the Chargers.

0:28:01 > 0:28:02And the Titans and the Chargers.

0:28:02 > 0:28:03Titans still in the playoffs, Chargers, many argued,

0:28:03 > 0:28:05ought to have been.

0:28:05 > 0:28:06They are good games.

0:28:06 > 0:28:09I think this is the best slate of games we have had

0:28:09 > 0:28:10over here since 2007.

0:28:10 > 0:28:14I mean, this is truly incredible, man, they are able to get the best

0:28:14 > 0:28:16teams coming over here to play, to play for the London fans,

0:28:16 > 0:28:17or the England fans.

0:28:17 > 0:28:19This is an outstanding job by the NFL.

0:28:19 > 0:28:21The Seahawks and the Raiders one is mouthwatering,

0:28:21 > 0:28:24particularly given also the venue at the new Spurs stadium.

0:28:24 > 0:28:25Without a doubt.

0:28:25 > 0:28:27And I love the fact they are both coming

0:28:27 > 0:28:29from the West Coast of the States.

0:28:29 > 0:28:30Nobody has an excuse.

0:28:30 > 0:28:32They get to come out here and go after it.

0:28:32 > 0:28:33I'm excited about that.

0:28:33 > 0:28:36And they are all back to back, all three games in a row.

0:28:36 > 0:28:38This is going to be an incredible test.

0:28:38 > 0:28:39Do you know why?

0:28:39 > 0:28:42For the future of the franchise we have coming over here.

0:28:42 > 0:28:44Why is it going to be an incredible test?

0:28:44 > 0:28:47Because they want to see if the teams can play back-to-back.

0:28:47 > 0:28:49If the environment can handle three games in a row.

0:28:49 > 0:28:51And we get to see Jon Gruden, as well.

0:28:51 > 0:28:52Chucky.

0:28:52 > 0:28:54I'm ready to shake his hand.

0:28:54 > 0:28:55That's a rich man.

0:28:55 > 0:28:57Yeah, definitely shake his hand when he comes over.

0:28:57 > 0:29:01Ask if you can borrow a few quid!

0:29:01 > 0:29:04We are back on Tuesday with NFL This Week to bring you

0:29:04 > 0:29:06highlights and analysis from all of this weekend's

0:29:06 > 0:29:07divisional round fixtures.

0:29:07 > 0:29:08BBC Two at 11:15pm.

0:29:08 > 0:29:11That's it from Jason, Osi and myself.

0:29:11 > 0:29:17Good night.
