0:00:12 > 0:00:13Watch the ball up the nearside field.

0:00:13 > 0:00:14And Montana throws...

0:00:14 > 0:00:18Rogers looking downfield, going deep.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21The one-man wrecking crew!

0:00:21 > 0:00:24Unbelievable!

0:00:24 > 0:00:25Let's go!

0:00:25 > 0:00:28How did he do that?!

0:00:28 > 0:00:30In the end zone... and caught!

0:00:30 > 0:00:31For the win!

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Unstoppable!

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Hello and welcome to the NFL Show.

0:00:35 > 0:00:38I'm once again joined by Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora,

0:00:38 > 0:00:41and tonight we'll be talking about last week's

0:00:41 > 0:00:45championship games, which kind of upset these two.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47We'll be reviewing what a weird and wonderful season it's been,

0:00:47 > 0:00:52and we'll be looking forward to the Super Bowl.

0:00:52 > 0:00:54Where would you rather be tonight?

0:00:54 > 0:00:57No place - no place in the world.

0:00:57 > 0:00:58Got to give you chills, man.

0:00:58 > 0:01:02We one step away.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05The disrespect will not be tolerated!

0:01:05 > 0:01:07All year they done told you what you couldn't do,

0:01:07 > 0:01:12what you couldn't be!

0:01:12 > 0:01:15So last weekend the two conference champions were crowned,

0:01:15 > 0:01:19and with that honour they earned a place in the Super Bowl.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22In the AFC Championship Game, the Jacksonville Jaguars travelled

0:01:22 > 0:01:25to the reigning Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27And in the NFC, it was the Minnesota Vikings

0:01:27 > 0:01:29at the Philadelphia Eagles.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33Does winning a conference championship really matter

0:01:33 > 0:01:35when the greater prize is still to come?

0:01:35 > 0:01:38Oh, absolutely, it shows that you were right there,

0:01:38 > 0:01:40you had an opportunity to make it to the Super Bowl,

0:01:40 > 0:01:44you were one of the best teams - it gives you a lot for next year.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46Do you get something when you win the conference

0:01:46 > 0:01:49championship, as a player? There is a trophy, isn't there?

0:01:49 > 0:01:52But I don't know if you get anything as a player.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54Mark, I don't know, I've never been in a position to...

0:01:54 > 0:01:57Because I always won the ultimate prize in the end, you know,

0:01:57 > 0:02:00when we made it that far, so I don't really...

0:02:00 > 0:02:02I think they give you a little trophy or something.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04You get a ring? You get a ring?

0:02:04 > 0:02:06I've never gotten a conference championship ring, no.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09Just a step on the way to greater things for you.

0:02:09 > 0:02:10You know how it is, Mark.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12I certainly do know how it is with you, yeah!

0:02:12 > 0:02:14To highlights of Jacksonville and New England, then,

0:02:14 > 0:02:17the Jags one of the new teams in the NFL,

0:02:17 > 0:02:18never won a conference championship.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20The Patriots, on the other hand, had won nine -

0:02:20 > 0:02:23seven of them since the start of the Brady-Belichick era.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26It was the mighty versus the minnows,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29David versus Goliath, good versus...

0:02:29 > 0:02:32Let's leave it there, roll highlights.

0:02:34 > 0:02:371st & goal.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40Still with Bortles, and it is caught by Marcedes Lewis!

0:02:40 > 0:02:42Well, watch right here.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44He is guarded by Lee, and Chung has to help.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47And watch, he's going to block, block, block and throw,

0:02:47 > 0:02:49and Patrick Chung gets caught

0:02:49 > 0:02:56looking in the backfield with his eyes.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58They hand it off, Fournette, he's driving,

0:02:58 > 0:03:00and he's in for the touchdown!

0:03:00 > 0:03:01Wow!

0:03:01 > 0:03:03Wow, take that, they say!

0:03:03 > 0:03:06This is not a good start for New England right now,

0:03:06 > 0:03:09right through the A gap with about five Patriots there.

0:03:09 > 0:03:16Fournette showing the power.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18This pass is incomplete, Barry Church,

0:03:18 > 0:03:20that is going to draw a flag.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Barry Church hit him.

0:03:22 > 0:03:26Oh, Jim, that is a penalty for sure, Church goes right helmet to helmet,

0:03:26 > 0:03:29you can't do that, it's the correct call, but I can tell you right now,

0:03:29 > 0:03:32the bigger picture is going to be whether or not, when he gets

0:03:32 > 0:03:35right at him, he's got to go into the concussion protocol -

0:03:35 > 0:03:37he's done for the half, for sure.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40That's a "Oh, my goodness" blow to the New England Patriots

0:03:40 > 0:03:42if he cannot play the rest of this game.

0:03:42 > 0:03:43White in for the touchdown.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46Just a great job by New England, being prepared to get up

0:03:46 > 0:03:50at the line, Jacksonville is not prepared to give them their gaps.

0:03:50 > 0:03:52Oh, boy!

0:03:52 > 0:03:55Field position, everything, points - this is huge, Jim!

0:03:55 > 0:03:56Make it, you got a seven-point lead.

0:03:56 > 0:04:04Miss it, Patriots take over at the 44.

0:04:04 > 0:04:05Lambo from 54, look at that kick!

0:04:05 > 0:04:11It's good.

0:04:11 > 0:04:16Back to Brady it comes, just standing there like a statue,

0:04:16 > 0:04:21as he unloads it, and it is caught by Dorsett!

0:04:21 > 0:04:29Good protection - Amendola for the touchdown!

0:04:30 > 0:04:332nd & goal.

0:04:33 > 0:04:37Fake it to White, looking around, has time, throws it.

0:04:37 > 0:04:38Did he get the feet down?!

0:04:38 > 0:04:45What an effort! Touchdown Amendola!

0:04:45 > 0:04:48Tom Brady does it again - right foot, left foot,

0:04:48 > 0:04:51that is a touchdown, Jim, New England has the lead

0:04:51 > 0:04:56and a shot at heading to the Super Bowl!

0:04:56 > 0:05:00Rushing forward, Bortles in trouble, the ball is down.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Fallen on by Robinson.

0:05:02 > 0:05:10It was James Harrison who got to him first.

0:05:10 > 0:05:18Stepping up and throwing, and it is knocked down by Gilmore!

0:05:21 > 0:05:24It's really a pretty good ball by Bortles, gives a chance,

0:05:24 > 0:05:26it's just incredible defensive play by Gilmore.

0:05:26 > 0:05:30Just an incredible play.

0:05:30 > 0:05:37It was a good throw, Bortles did a great job, stepped up - oh!

0:05:37 > 0:05:41It is Lewis, Lewis, running free, and that could very well do it.

0:05:41 > 0:05:47Dion Lewis found a tiny little opening

0:05:47 > 0:05:53and used that burst of speed, and Belichick knows he's got it now.

0:05:53 > 0:05:55New England does it in one of the toughest years,

0:05:55 > 0:05:58we thought they lost a lot of guys, you lose Gronkowski,

0:05:58 > 0:06:00give Bill Belichick credit, this team finds a way -

0:06:00 > 0:06:03special, unique, we're never going to see this type of thing

0:06:03 > 0:06:10happen again over the last 15, 17 years, it's truly generational.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12So here are the basic stats, then, after that.

0:06:12 > 0:06:16The Patriots the first team to accrue ten Super Bowl appearances,

0:06:16 > 0:06:18they now have the chance to tie with the

0:06:18 > 0:06:21Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins with six.

0:06:21 > 0:06:23They've also won the last four times

0:06:23 > 0:06:26they've been down by double digits in a playoff game.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29I mean, I know what your feelings are towards them, but even you're

0:06:29 > 0:06:34shaking your head in disbelief at the stats they've racked up.

0:06:34 > 0:06:36You've got to give credit where credit is due,

0:06:36 > 0:06:38and this team has been phenomenal, especially in the way

0:06:38 > 0:06:40they've handled themselves.

0:06:40 > 0:06:44It doesn't matter how many points - they always find a way to come back.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46And you know what's even more crazy?

0:06:46 > 0:06:48As we're watching, and they're down by ten, 14, 20 points,

0:06:48 > 0:06:52you still kind of get the feeling that they're about to make a run.

0:06:52 > 0:06:54So can you imagine what the other team on the field

0:06:54 > 0:06:56playing against them feels like? It's crazy.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59Arguably, the greatest dynasty in football ever,

0:06:59 > 0:07:00and we're watching that, we're witnessing that,

0:07:00 > 0:07:03and you know, you've got a defensive-minded head coach

0:07:03 > 0:07:06that makes great adjustments, and the best quarterback

0:07:06 > 0:07:08of all time, it's hard to lose with that combination.

0:07:08 > 0:07:10How long can it keep going for?

0:07:10 > 0:07:12As long as Bill Belichick is there, they're going to keep going,

0:07:12 > 0:07:16because as good as Tom Brady is, I've seen them take Matt Cassel

0:07:16 > 0:07:18and make a huge run, like I've seen them take

0:07:18 > 0:07:22quarterbacks who went to other teams and didn't perform...

0:07:22 > 0:07:24Now, granted - Jimmy Garoppolo did, and performed really well,

0:07:24 > 0:07:26but as long as they have Bill Belichick there,

0:07:26 > 0:07:29they're going to be able to succeed.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31As far as Jacksonville are concerned,

0:07:31 > 0:07:33are they built now for a few years of being contenders?

0:07:33 > 0:07:36Oh, without a doubt.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39I mean, they've done right by building that team

0:07:39 > 0:07:40throughout the draft, getting great defensive players,

0:07:40 > 0:07:43and I hate to keep getting on Blake Bortles,

0:07:43 > 0:07:45but they are a quarterback away.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48And honestly maybe he gets a little better -

0:07:48 > 0:07:50maybe he is that quarterback for them next year.

0:07:50 > 0:07:53Well, what would you do with Blake Bortles?

0:07:53 > 0:07:57Would you keep him for next season?

0:07:57 > 0:08:00You can't ditch your quarterback who's taken you to a lead

0:08:00 > 0:08:03up to the fourth quarter of a conference championship.

0:08:03 > 0:08:04It's all about price, Mark,

0:08:04 > 0:08:09it's about what he's worth next year and what we're willing to pay.

0:08:09 > 0:08:10He's got a fifth-year option, I think it's 19 million -

0:08:10 > 0:08:12I'm not paying that.

0:08:12 > 0:08:14But if we can negotiate a decent price, maybe,

0:08:14 > 0:08:15because then I could use that money

0:08:15 > 0:08:18to go get other players to put around him.

0:08:18 > 0:08:20Of course you can ditch him,

0:08:20 > 0:08:22I mean this is the cruel business of the NFL.

0:08:22 > 0:08:24Yes, you got them to this particular point and,

0:08:24 > 0:08:27yes, I think he played very well over the last couple of games,

0:08:27 > 0:08:30but here is the thing about the quarterback position in the NFL.

0:08:30 > 0:08:33At some point, you have to rely on your quarterback to go out

0:08:33 > 0:08:36there and win games for you, and I think Blake Bortles,

0:08:36 > 0:08:38given the chance, even though the defense wasn't playing

0:08:38 > 0:08:41as well as they had been, sometimes your quarterback has to go

0:08:41 > 0:08:43out there and win games for you.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45And I'm just not quite sure that he's the guy that

0:08:45 > 0:08:47can do that for them.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49You got to pay for that, Osi. Yeah, of course.

0:08:49 > 0:08:51And that means you're going to really disrupt,

0:08:51 > 0:08:54keeping some of those defensive guys you want around in future -

0:08:54 > 0:08:56if you pay a quarterback a tonne of money.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59Not the way that the Jaguars are built, because they're young,

0:08:59 > 0:09:02and a lot of the players who they have that are really good,

0:09:02 > 0:09:05they're not going to have to pay for a couple of years.

0:09:05 > 0:09:08So they can afford to invest right now in a Drew Brees kind

0:09:08 > 0:09:09of quarterback, you know, short-term quarterback,

0:09:09 > 0:09:11and then build for the future with the draft.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13To the NFC Championship Game between the Minnesota Vikings

0:09:13 > 0:09:15and the Philadelphia Eagles, then.

0:09:15 > 0:09:16Historically, with regards to disappointment,

0:09:16 > 0:09:18both franchises have been top of their game!

0:09:18 > 0:09:20Neither team has won the Super Bowl -

0:09:20 > 0:09:22in fact, they've lost six between them.

0:09:22 > 0:09:24Two teams with defensive prowess and stand-in quarterbacks

0:09:24 > 0:09:28who were relishing their underdog status.

0:09:28 > 0:09:36But for one team, it was time for the fairy tale to end.

0:09:36 > 0:09:42Who's going to Super Bowl LII, the Vikings or the hometown Eagles?

0:09:42 > 0:09:46Five-step drop, fade, Rudolph, touchdown!

0:09:46 > 0:09:48Five-step drop, fade, Rudolph, touchdown!

0:09:48 > 0:09:51Could the Vikings possibly come down from the upper atmosphere

0:09:51 > 0:09:54where the game against the Saints had taken them?

0:09:54 > 0:09:56It seemed they could.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59Keenum takes the snap.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01He's hit, and it's intercepted!

0:10:01 > 0:10:04Picked off by Robinson.

0:10:04 > 0:10:08Now he's at the 20, he's at the 15, the 10, the 5, touchdown!

0:10:08 > 0:10:12Yes!

0:10:12 > 0:10:14The handoff is to Blount.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17That, my friends, is power.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20He's in!

0:10:20 > 0:10:21Yeah, yeah!

0:10:21 > 0:10:27Foles steps up, he is going deep, and in for the touchdown is Jeffery!

0:10:27 > 0:10:35The Eagles brought the Vikings down to earth, and the landing was hard.

0:10:35 > 0:10:38They come right back, it's a flea flicker.

0:10:38 > 0:10:42And it is caught - touchdown, Torrey Smith!

0:10:42 > 0:10:46And the Philadelphia Eagles are blowing the Minnesota Vikings

0:10:46 > 0:10:51out in the NFC Championship Game.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Holds back, he looks, he fires,

0:10:53 > 0:10:57and it is caught by Jeffery, touchdown!

0:10:57 > 0:11:00For the first time in 30 years,

0:11:00 > 0:11:04the Eagles are heading for the Super Bowl!

0:11:04 > 0:11:07You don't know how happy I am for you.

0:11:07 > 0:11:10Nobody deserves this more than you do.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12You're going to the Super Bowl, men!

0:11:12 > 0:11:16Let's go! Let's go!

0:11:16 > 0:11:18So much like the American government last weekend,

0:11:18 > 0:11:20the Vikings were shut down - a bit of politics for you!

0:11:20 > 0:11:23Have you recovered? No, I haven't.

0:11:23 > 0:11:26I was emotionally drained, literally, I felt like I played

0:11:26 > 0:11:29the game, and it's been a long time since I felt like that!

0:11:29 > 0:11:31Why?! Why? I was too...

0:11:31 > 0:11:34It mattered too much to me, you know?

0:11:34 > 0:11:37Usually, I sit back, and I try to be a pundit,

0:11:37 > 0:11:39and I try to watch the games.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42I was there, I wanted to be there, I wanted them to win.

0:11:42 > 0:11:44I was sick, Mark, I was sick.

0:11:44 > 0:11:46Because if you only just joined us for the show,

0:11:46 > 0:11:50where have you been for the rest of the season?!

0:11:50 > 0:11:53But over the course of the season, Jason has claimed that

0:11:53 > 0:11:55the majority of this Vikings team are his friends.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57Haven't called anybody. Have you not?

0:11:57 > 0:11:59I haven't called or texted anybody. Today I'm starting reaching out.

0:11:59 > 0:12:03Who do you think needs reaching out to?

0:12:03 > 0:12:05In all seriousness, who do you think will actually

0:12:05 > 0:12:07be affected most by the defeat?

0:12:07 > 0:12:09I mean, they're all hurting, you know, nobody individually,

0:12:09 > 0:12:12I would not find anybody out, cos they are my friends.

0:12:12 > 0:12:16But I'm going to hit up Harry, Harrison first.OK.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19Send him a text, cos he doesn't respond to phone calls.

0:12:19 > 0:12:20Because he struggled, yeah?

0:12:20 > 0:12:22It was a rough day, it was a rough day for him.

0:12:22 > 0:12:24Do you think they targeted him?

0:12:24 > 0:12:27Absolutely, with that run-pass read option, it was all on him.

0:12:27 > 0:12:29Because he was the one you wanted to target,

0:12:29 > 0:12:31and that's what they did.

0:12:31 > 0:12:33You know, he was in a box, and they...

0:12:33 > 0:12:35Stop laughing! I'm not laughing, man!

0:12:35 > 0:12:37I was emotional, man! You were, you were.

0:12:37 > 0:12:44It's because whilst you're talking, I'm looking at him,

0:12:44 > 0:12:48and he's looking at me, and I can see him trying not to laugh!

0:12:48 > 0:12:49He's trying to laugh!

0:12:49 > 0:12:51I told him, he knew I was struggling, and I said,

0:12:51 > 0:12:54"The Vikings brought me in this year, the Giants failed us,

0:12:54 > 0:12:57I needed a team that brought us win, brought me in."

0:12:57 > 0:12:58And yeah.

0:12:58 > 0:12:59I give you that, but ultimately, man,

0:12:59 > 0:13:01it was too much for them to overcome.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03Do you think partly because of what happened

0:13:03 > 0:13:04against New Orleans Saints?

0:13:04 > 0:13:07No question, and I said this to Jason, like, remember,

0:13:07 > 0:13:08when we won the Super Bowl...

0:13:08 > 0:13:10Have you won the Super Bowl? We won, twice.

0:13:10 > 0:13:12Twice, yeah, sorry! Two times!

0:13:12 > 0:13:15Tyree caught the ball off his head, little helmet catch or whatever.

0:13:15 > 0:13:18And after something like that, after you've been put in such

0:13:18 > 0:13:21an improbable position and you win a game, you can't now go back

0:13:21 > 0:13:23and play a game the next week, you're emotionally spent,

0:13:23 > 0:13:25you're physically drained, you have nothing left to give.

0:13:25 > 0:13:29And I knew this was what was going to happen to the Minnesota Vikings.

0:13:29 > 0:13:31There's no way they get beat by that many points

0:13:31 > 0:13:34by the Philadelphia Eagles.

0:13:34 > 0:13:36I mean, Philly could have won the game,

0:13:36 > 0:13:38but not dominated Minnesota like that - they were done.

0:13:38 > 0:13:41Terence Newman mentions that, man, you got to respect what he says,

0:13:41 > 0:13:43he said, "We just didn't have the same energy,"

0:13:43 > 0:13:45and he's the veteran in that locker room.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47And if they didn't have the same energy,

0:13:47 > 0:13:49then, boy, did Philadelphia have energy!

0:13:49 > 0:13:52I mean, coming from the stands and the crowd and the players,

0:13:52 > 0:13:56I mean, it was as pumped as you could possibly get.

0:13:56 > 0:13:59That whole underdog motivation, I mean, they held onto that,

0:13:59 > 0:14:02and ultimately who knew Nick Foles was going to be throwing deep

0:14:02 > 0:14:05bombs like that all game?

0:14:05 > 0:14:09That is just not what we thought he was going to do.

0:14:09 > 0:14:11We knew he had to do that to win the game,

0:14:11 > 0:14:15but ultimately I thought he was going to stick

0:14:15 > 0:14:17to the intermediate routes. Obviously, I'm not a coach.

0:14:17 > 0:14:20The one place on earth you don't want to be in a situation

0:14:20 > 0:14:22like that is Philadelphia.

0:14:22 > 0:14:25That is the last place on earth you want to be,

0:14:25 > 0:14:28because those fans and those people are so rowdy, they're so intense,

0:14:28 > 0:14:31and they let you know everything about you,

0:14:31 > 0:14:33your mother, your father, your kids!

0:14:33 > 0:14:35And they're so hungry for victory, they're so hungry that,

0:14:35 > 0:14:38in a situation like that, it creates a chaotic atmosphere,

0:14:38 > 0:14:44and Minnesota just was no match, man, they ran into a buzzsaw.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46There we have it, then, the number-one seed in the AFC

0:14:46 > 0:14:49will play the number-one seed in the NFC.

0:14:49 > 0:14:51It's the New England Patriots against the Philadelphia Eagles

0:14:51 > 0:14:57in Minnesota on Sunday the 4th of February.

0:14:58 > 0:15:00For the entirety of the 21st-century,

0:15:00 > 0:15:03the New England Patriots have been the pre-eminent presence

0:15:03 > 0:15:07at the Super Bowl.

0:15:07 > 0:15:10Eight times since 2000, they have been to the great

0:15:10 > 0:15:11February showdown...

0:15:11 > 0:15:14It's good!

0:15:14 > 0:15:17The Patriots are Super Bowl champions!

0:15:17 > 0:15:19The best feeling in the world.

0:15:19 > 0:15:21This is what football is about!

0:15:21 > 0:15:23And been the powerhouse of the Super Bowl.

0:15:23 > 0:15:26Five times champions...

0:15:26 > 0:15:31They have completed the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history!

0:15:31 > 0:15:34And in all these 21st-century years, Bill Belichick has been

0:15:34 > 0:15:38the coach, and Tom Brady has been the quarterback.

0:15:38 > 0:15:43This isn't a football franchise, it's a dynasty.

0:15:43 > 0:15:46The Philadelphia Eagles, in all their 85-year-old history,

0:15:46 > 0:15:48have never won the big one...

0:15:48 > 0:15:50He fires for the end zone...

0:15:50 > 0:15:58A leaping reception for a touchdown!

0:15:58 > 0:16:01Come on, now!

0:16:01 > 0:16:02And there, at Super Bowl XXXIX...

0:16:02 > 0:16:03They lost to the Patriots.

0:16:03 > 0:16:05Intercepted, that is it!

0:16:05 > 0:16:09The Patriots will be Super Bowl champions again.

0:16:09 > 0:16:13But they are not stern of face in Philly.

0:16:13 > 0:16:16The Head Coach only two years into his job with the Eagles,

0:16:16 > 0:16:18one of his first signings was a quarterback

0:16:18 > 0:16:19named Carson Wentz.

0:16:19 > 0:16:21He is starting to run.

0:16:21 > 0:16:24Now he fires downfield...

0:16:24 > 0:16:25And what a signing he was!

0:16:25 > 0:16:26Caught!

0:16:26 > 0:16:27Touchdown, Eagles!

0:16:27 > 0:16:31Carson Wentz pulling something out of the hat.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33This kid is unbelievable, the way he prepared,

0:16:33 > 0:16:34the way he practices.

0:16:34 > 0:16:36As long as we don't screw him up, right?

0:16:36 > 0:16:40Only for injury to strike him down in December.

0:16:40 > 0:16:46Foles has filled in, and found his feet, and his range.

0:16:46 > 0:16:47But Carson Wentz wasn't the only signing.

0:16:47 > 0:16:50Jay Ajayi, born in London, was signed in late October this

0:16:50 > 0:16:52season and he take some stopping.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54Welcome to Philadelphia, baby!

0:16:54 > 0:16:57Boom!

0:16:57 > 0:17:03The Patriots and the Eagles, neither likes being stopped.

0:17:03 > 0:17:06They meet head-on on the first Sunday of February at the US

0:17:06 > 0:17:08Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

0:17:08 > 0:17:15They come at full speed into the Super Bowl...

0:17:15 > 0:17:17So it is the dynasty, or the dy-nasty, against the underdog.

0:17:17 > 0:17:24As we said on Tuesday's show and as we will say all next weekend,

0:17:24 > 0:17:27and possibly for quite a long time afterwards, this is your worst

0:17:27 > 0:17:31possible Super Bowl outlook, isn't it?

0:17:31 > 0:17:34It couldn't have been anything worse!

0:17:34 > 0:17:36I've talked trash about the Philadelphia Eagles not

0:17:36 > 0:17:39winning the Super Bowl, I've talked trash about Tom Brady

0:17:39 > 0:17:42for I don't know how long, only to see them here right

0:17:42 > 0:17:45in front of me!

0:17:45 > 0:17:48And I have to be professional and act like, oh yes...

0:17:48 > 0:17:51And keep a straight face.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54It's unbelievable!

0:17:54 > 0:17:56Actually, we will be able to get our revenge on him.

0:17:56 > 0:17:59You will be able to laugh at him for once!

0:17:59 > 0:18:05He doesn't want any part of this.

0:18:05 > 0:18:10He's like - I don't want to talk about these teams,

0:18:10 > 0:18:11but you know good football!

0:18:11 > 0:18:15You've got to give them credit, right?

0:18:15 > 0:18:16Does this matchup, Philadelphia?

0:18:16 > 0:18:19There is this underdog status that they'd been able to play on,

0:18:19 > 0:18:22they wouldn't have been able to do that had Carson Wentz been fit,

0:18:22 > 0:18:24but with Nick Foles, everybody wrote them off

0:18:24 > 0:18:26through the playoffs, they have been the underdogs

0:18:26 > 0:18:29and they got the underdog masks, and in many ways they will be

0:18:29 > 0:18:31able to keep their role going against the dynasty

0:18:31 > 0:18:32that is the Patriots.

0:18:32 > 0:18:33Does that suit them?

0:18:33 > 0:18:34Definitely.

0:18:34 > 0:18:37It is going to be a hard game to call.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39Ultimately, whenever you run the ball, we talk about it,

0:18:39 > 0:18:42we beat a dead horse with this but it is the truth.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44Whenever you can run the ball and play great defense,

0:18:44 > 0:18:46you've always got a chance.

0:18:46 > 0:18:48I saw last week the defensive backfield that I thought

0:18:48 > 0:18:49couldn't matchup.

0:18:49 > 0:18:51Well, in Philadelphia, really matchup and play well.

0:18:51 > 0:18:53They are going to have to do that.

0:18:53 > 0:18:56They have all of the tools to match up well with New England.

0:18:56 > 0:18:58This is not a situation where Philadelphia

0:18:58 > 0:18:59should be the underdogs.

0:18:59 > 0:19:02If you have actually studied and watched how they have played

0:19:02 > 0:19:04over the entire season, they should not be the underdogs

0:19:04 > 0:19:05going against New England.

0:19:05 > 0:19:09Granted, New England is New England, and they have Tom Brady,

0:19:09 > 0:19:12that plays into people's psyche and their minds but look at how

0:19:12 > 0:19:13the Philadelphia Eagles play.

0:19:13 > 0:19:21They will pressure the quarterbacks and bring waves of people at them.

0:19:23 > 0:19:26They can go up the middle with Fletcher Cox, and offensively

0:19:26 > 0:19:27they can run the football.

0:19:27 > 0:19:28Play action past.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31This is a team hungry for victory and a team that matches up extremely

0:19:31 > 0:19:33favourably against the New England Patriots.

0:19:33 > 0:19:37They will know that in-house but publicly,

0:19:37 > 0:19:39they will want to stir the underdog against the favourite, won't they?

0:19:39 > 0:19:43It has worked for them so far.

0:19:43 > 0:19:46But against Atlanta and Minnesota, they were the underdogs?

0:19:46 > 0:19:48That is what everyone on the outside will be saying.

0:19:48 > 0:19:51People who know, Mark, people who know will be

0:19:51 > 0:19:53looking at this game and going, yeah?

0:19:53 > 0:19:56No, New England isn't going to run all over these people,

0:19:56 > 0:19:58it isn't going to happen.

0:19:58 > 0:20:01How far ahead do you think the Eagles might have to be

0:20:01 > 0:20:03going into the fourth quarter?

0:20:03 > 0:20:07I tell you what I think they should do, I do not think that they should

0:20:07 > 0:20:08be that far ahead at all.

0:20:08 > 0:20:09I don't.

0:20:09 > 0:20:12Because it seems the further you get away from the Patriots...

0:20:12 > 0:20:16The more you expect them to come back and win!

0:20:16 > 0:20:20So yeah, I'm just going to run the ball here and keep it close

0:20:20 > 0:20:22and see if we can get into the fourth quarter

0:20:22 > 0:20:24and that is normally how you beat the Patriots.

0:20:24 > 0:20:26That defensive line, because of how they rotate

0:20:26 > 0:20:29with the Philadelphia Eagles, if it is fresh in the second half

0:20:29 > 0:20:33and the fourth quarter, that is the advantage to me.

0:20:33 > 0:20:35Whatever is going on, you can get after Tom Brady

0:20:35 > 0:20:37with a fresh batch of guys.

0:20:37 > 0:20:39You've got to eliminate him.

0:20:39 > 0:20:42He is the head of the snake and you've got to cut it off.

0:20:42 > 0:20:45We will be talking more about this game next Saturday for our preview

0:20:45 > 0:20:48show from Minnesota where two of us will look normal, one of us

0:20:48 > 0:20:50will be in disguise...

0:20:50 > 0:20:52Right now we will take our opportunity to look back

0:20:52 > 0:20:54at the season that has been full of inspiration,

0:20:54 > 0:20:57injuries and insults...

0:20:57 > 0:20:59The season starts now!

0:20:59 > 0:21:01Let's go!

0:21:01 > 0:21:04Let's go!

0:21:04 > 0:21:08My boy!

0:21:08 > 0:21:09Get in!

0:21:09 > 0:21:10Touchdown, Cincinnati!

0:21:10 > 0:21:13What are you thinking?

0:21:13 > 0:21:14They had a potato sack race!

0:21:14 > 0:21:17Leapfrogging...

0:21:17 > 0:21:20It's a blast.

0:21:20 > 0:21:21Who else?

0:21:21 > 0:21:24Antonio Brown!

0:21:24 > 0:21:26Deshaun Watson...

0:21:26 > 0:21:34Hoping to keep things hot!

0:21:38 > 0:21:40Time for this team to take it to the next level...

0:21:40 > 0:21:41He's got loose!

0:21:41 > 0:21:42Oh, my god, no way!

0:21:42 > 0:21:44Touchdown!

0:21:44 > 0:21:45What a miracle finish.

0:21:45 > 0:21:47Let's hand out some awards, then, with your decisions on...

0:21:47 > 0:21:48Pundit of the Year!

0:21:48 > 0:21:51Pundit of the Year!

0:21:51 > 0:21:52LAUGHTER

0:21:52 > 0:21:55My vote goes to Tony Romo!

0:21:55 > 0:21:57Tony Romo!

0:21:57 > 0:22:01MVP?

0:22:01 > 0:22:02Hmm...

0:22:02 > 0:22:04That has to be Tom Brady.

0:22:04 > 0:22:07It has to be.

0:22:07 > 0:22:1140 years old, carrying them on his back as he does every single year.

0:22:11 > 0:22:13But without him on the team, I don't know, obviously

0:22:13 > 0:22:16because they got rid of Garoppolo, I don't know if they would go

0:22:16 > 0:22:19anywhere near as close as they have done so far.

0:22:19 > 0:22:20I have to go with him, man.

0:22:20 > 0:22:24The man is a real pundit, he's going to tell you the truth!

0:22:24 > 0:22:27Would you go along with it?

0:22:27 > 0:22:29I'm going with my man, Tom Brady.

0:22:29 > 0:22:30Same.

0:22:30 > 0:22:31Why?

0:22:31 > 0:22:32I mean, he is the best.

0:22:32 > 0:22:33He had a great year.

0:22:33 > 0:22:37You see what he did last week.

0:22:37 > 0:22:40The guy can bring you back at any moment, at any time.

0:22:40 > 0:22:45Do you think your MVP has to be in the Super Bowl?

0:22:45 > 0:22:49No, for me, the MVP has to be a guy the team won a lot of games

0:22:49 > 0:22:51with and they wouldn't be able to win without that

0:22:51 > 0:22:53particular player there.

0:22:53 > 0:22:57That's why I have to give it to Tom Brady this year.

0:22:57 > 0:23:00OK, so if the Steelers had been in the Super Bowl,

0:23:00 > 0:23:02would you have given it to Antonio Brown?

0:23:02 > 0:23:03Ooh...

0:23:03 > 0:23:04No, I wouldn't.

0:23:04 > 0:23:06They could win games without Antonio Brown there.

0:23:06 > 0:23:08And they actually won a couple of games without Antonio Brown.

0:23:08 > 0:23:16I wouldn't have given it to him.

0:23:16 > 0:23:19I agree with you, Mark, I don't know if I agree with you,

0:23:19 > 0:23:20but that statement, I agree with.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22I would have given it to Antonio Brown.

0:23:22 > 0:23:25I don't know if you would have given it to Antonio Brown,

0:23:25 > 0:23:26but I would have.

0:23:26 > 0:23:29At the moment, you are not in the running for Pundit of the Year!

0:23:29 > 0:23:31Just on the basis of that answer!

0:23:31 > 0:23:33You know what you are good at!

0:23:33 > 0:23:34Rookie of the Year...

0:23:34 > 0:23:36Kamara, you've got to give it to that guy.

0:23:36 > 0:23:43He was 70% of the offense for the Saints.

0:23:43 > 0:23:46He was Mr Everything!

0:23:46 > 0:23:49And if you follow your logic, about the teams struggling

0:23:49 > 0:23:51without that person, when we saw them at Atlanta,

0:23:51 > 0:23:53when he went off with concussion, they were a completely different

0:23:53 > 0:23:54team for that game.

0:23:54 > 0:23:57The whole game plan changes when he's off the field,

0:23:57 > 0:23:59what an MVP should do.

0:23:59 > 0:24:01The whole game plan changes when he's off the field,

0:24:01 > 0:24:02what an MVP should do.

0:24:02 > 0:24:04That is the significance.

0:24:04 > 0:24:05Rookie of the Year for Kamara?

0:24:05 > 0:24:07Yes, he is such a dynamic and explosive football player.

0:24:07 > 0:24:09He energised not only the New Orleans Saints,

0:24:09 > 0:24:12but he energised the entire NFL with how he played football.

0:24:12 > 0:24:13So definitely him.

0:24:13 > 0:24:16I'm really happy with how he has progressed as a player.

0:24:16 > 0:24:18And Team of the Year, do you want to go first?

0:24:18 > 0:24:20I will, the Los Angeles Rams!

0:24:20 > 0:24:21Why?

0:24:21 > 0:24:23You see what Sean McVay did over there with those guys.

0:24:23 > 0:24:26He's got them believing, it's a different team.

0:24:26 > 0:24:28Everyone in the NFL loved watching them.

0:24:28 > 0:24:30Number one offense, Team of the Year.

0:24:30 > 0:24:31OK, Team of the Year?

0:24:31 > 0:24:32I like the Rams.

0:24:32 > 0:24:35But it has to be the Philadelphia Eagles, it has to be.

0:24:35 > 0:24:37Nobody gave these guys the chance to do this...

0:24:37 > 0:24:39These guys are playing in the Super Bowl,

0:24:39 > 0:24:40who would have thought that?

0:24:40 > 0:24:43They did have some good football players, they drafted well

0:24:43 > 0:24:46and I thought it would take them a couple of years to get

0:24:46 > 0:24:47to where they are right now.

0:24:47 > 0:24:50But for now, it has to be the Eagles.

0:24:50 > 0:24:52All right, some interesting suggestions.

0:24:52 > 0:24:55Those are the awards from on the field but off the field,

0:24:55 > 0:24:57we do have an award.

0:24:57 > 0:24:59This is a tie.

0:24:59 > 0:25:01The Press Conference Performance Of The Year.

0:25:01 > 0:25:05It jointly goes to Bill Belichick and Cam Newton...

0:25:05 > 0:25:09HE SIGHS.

0:25:09 > 0:25:12I know we didn't make enough plays we need to make to win.

0:25:12 > 0:25:14I told you so.

0:25:14 > 0:25:18It is harder for me to kind of talk to certain people with them not

0:25:18 > 0:25:20being able to understand where I'm coming from.

0:25:20 > 0:25:23That's the way it's been for a long time.

0:25:23 > 0:25:24This is a hostile environment.

0:25:24 > 0:25:26Give me a break...

0:25:26 > 0:25:29Sometimes you've just got to overcome coaching...

0:25:29 > 0:25:31I've got to coach better.

0:25:31 > 0:25:34Got to practice better, got to play better.

0:25:34 > 0:25:37Everything I was told not to do, I did.

0:25:37 > 0:25:40The fundamentals weren't good enough.

0:25:40 > 0:25:43Just tone it down, just a second, so we can clear our minds.

0:25:43 > 0:25:44Really, nothing was good enough, so...

0:25:44 > 0:25:45Just bad vibes and energy.

0:25:45 > 0:25:48Look, whatever they are, they are.

0:25:48 > 0:25:51Let's just kind of put this car back in third gear.

0:25:51 > 0:25:52Improve pretty much everything.

0:25:52 > 0:25:56I've got to take Kira to school, give her some cupcakes.

0:25:56 > 0:26:00And some pizza for her class.

0:26:00 > 0:26:03Whatever you call on him to do, he seems dependable in doing it.

0:26:03 > 0:26:06Persistence, persistence, persistence.

0:26:06 > 0:26:07Was good at everything.

0:26:07 > 0:26:09The Titanic still has to go.

0:26:09 > 0:26:11We are going to do a better job.

0:26:11 > 0:26:12I look forward to that.

0:26:12 > 0:26:14Yeah, I got a lot of ridicule after that.

0:26:14 > 0:26:17Any questions about the game, or not?

0:26:17 > 0:26:20That was very well edited by the team!

0:26:20 > 0:26:23I could have just watched half an hour of their press

0:26:23 > 0:26:25conferences, to be honest!

0:26:25 > 0:26:27The contrast!

0:26:27 > 0:26:29The contrast is amazing.

0:26:29 > 0:26:37Oh, man...

0:26:41 > 0:26:42We have had over the course of the season serious

0:26:42 > 0:26:44discussions on here as well.

0:26:44 > 0:26:45We have talked concussion, and the flag.

0:26:45 > 0:26:48We talked Colin Kaepernick but do you think the product

0:26:48 > 0:26:49is in a good way?

0:26:49 > 0:26:51You have your issues year-on-year but the competition committee goes

0:26:51 > 0:26:54in and they try and fix those and alleviate the pain points.

0:26:54 > 0:26:57They try and make the game cleaner, better and safer, you have hurdles

0:26:57 > 0:27:00with that this year but they always figure it out.

0:27:00 > 0:27:02The game keeps getting better.

0:27:02 > 0:27:07I keep on saying the same things I've said before.

0:27:07 > 0:27:10If I was a betting man, if I was a gambling man,

0:27:10 > 0:27:13I would bet every single penny I had in the NFL.

0:27:13 > 0:27:14The product is too good.

0:27:14 > 0:27:17When you watch the games, right?

0:27:17 > 0:27:20Especially the last half of the season going into the playoffs,

0:27:20 > 0:27:24things going on in the football field are incredible.

0:27:24 > 0:27:26The storylines, the underdogs, the people supposed to win winning,

0:27:26 > 0:27:29the team is not supposed to win, winning.

0:27:29 > 0:27:33The teams who are meant to win, losing.

0:27:33 > 0:27:35It's upside down, everybody has a chance.

0:27:35 > 0:27:37There is nobody untouchable.

0:27:37 > 0:27:40Nobody who is too big to fail.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42Everything that happens outside, you have a select group

0:27:42 > 0:27:43of people controlling...

0:27:43 > 0:27:45It doesn't happen in the NFL.

0:27:45 > 0:27:47Everybody has a chance to win.

0:27:47 > 0:27:50I love it, man.

0:27:50 > 0:27:52And we still have one game to go...

0:28:16 > 0:28:19let me thank everybody who helped get these shows to air.

0:28:19 > 0:28:21These two think it's all about them, they don't

0:28:21 > 0:28:29really want to thank anyone, do you?

0:28:36 > 0:28:38Can you remember the crew's name, Jason?

0:28:55 > 0:28:58It reminds me of the day I got a rather strange phone call

0:28:58 > 0:29:01from a man who was 100% certain he was my wife's husband.

0:29:01 > 0:29:02I hope you will be able to get...
