:00:10. > :00:27.It will be time for these teams to settle it. Montana throws it.

:00:28. > :00:32.Touchdown. Looking downfield. Unbelievable. How did he do that?

:00:33. > :00:35.Unstoppable. There's only one week to go before

:00:36. > :00:39.we have our 12 teams On the last NFL show of 2016 -

:00:40. > :00:44.don't worry we'll be back in 2017 - Osi is still on his Nigerian

:00:45. > :00:46.adventure, so joining us in the studio again is Super Bowl 45

:00:47. > :00:50.winner, Greg Jennings. There's extended highlights

:00:51. > :00:52.of Detroit's visit to Dallas And showing us how defensive backs

:00:53. > :00:57.and wide receivers truly love each other in the NFL,

:00:58. > :01:00.Jason and Greg show us And what the officials

:01:01. > :01:18.don't always see! All I know, we played together, all

:01:19. > :01:24.of us. This game is all about who can play harder and longer, and I

:01:25. > :01:27.like where I stand, in the middle, with you. Are you ready? Let's go

:01:28. > :01:51.get it. All the way for a touchdown. Be

:01:52. > :01:57.great, be great. A long string of futility finally ends. Touchdown.

:01:58. > :02:03.Touchdown, Pittsburgh's. That might win them the division. The NFL is

:02:04. > :02:17.split into two conferences. 23 years have passed since they've

:02:18. > :02:20.won a divisional title, but the Detroit Lions finally look

:02:21. > :02:23.worthy of winning the NFC North. But just as the champagne

:02:24. > :02:26.is being prepared to go on ice, their old foes, Green Bay,

:02:27. > :02:28.have put together a four-game win streak that could spoil the well

:02:29. > :02:34.overdue Lions party. Win this Week 16 game

:02:35. > :02:36.at Dallas and the Detroit party is in full flow,

:02:37. > :02:41.lose it and it's a showdown with NFC North rivals Green Bay in week 17,

:02:42. > :02:44.and the prospect of not only losing the division, but falling out

:02:45. > :03:03.of playoff contention. Prescott, a bit of a wobble their,

:03:04. > :03:18.but they 1st down to Bryant. Prescott, with time, and it is

:03:19. > :03:24.caught for a Dallas touchdown by Brice Butler. He gets the Cowboys in

:03:25. > :03:32.the proper play, the pass protection is stellar.

:03:33. > :03:38.Zach Zenner, touchdown, Detroit. What an impressive answer by the

:03:39. > :03:53.Detroit Lions. It's a touchdown for Elliott. You

:03:54. > :04:07.call a blitz, make a mistake, it's over. Court, 1st down. Marvin Jones.

:04:08. > :04:16.Stafford keeps it. No signal yet that he is in. I think he crossed

:04:17. > :04:23.the plane. We had a brief view of the ball. I think they got it right.

:04:24. > :04:41.A sigh of relief for Caldwell. Zen, into the end zone, touchdown,

:04:42. > :04:50.Detroit. -- Zach Zenner. He is putting on a show.

:04:51. > :05:03.Bodies tangle, catch made by Dez Bryant for a touchdown, and it

:05:04. > :05:12.stands. Unbelievable concentration by Bryant.

:05:13. > :05:27.It's an interception. It ricocheted into the arms of Wilcox.

:05:28. > :05:39.Elliott turns the corner. Touchdown, Dallas.

:05:40. > :05:47.Bryant throws, and a Dallas touchdown. You think it is going to

:05:48. > :05:58.be reversed to Bryant, and you forget he is left-handed.

:05:59. > :06:07.Another touchdown pass. He is doing it at every level. This is as good

:06:08. > :06:15.as it gets. This is very uncommon for any rookie.

:06:16. > :06:23.We did not move the ball well enough on offense. And the turnovers hurt.

:06:24. > :06:26.At the beginning of the year, if you had told us we would play the Green

:06:27. > :06:28.Bay Packers at home for the division, we would have taken it all

:06:29. > :06:29.day. You can catch more highlights

:06:30. > :06:32.of Week 16 on our highlights show, NFL This Week,

:06:33. > :06:41.which is on iPlayer right now. Is that a morale crushing blow for

:06:42. > :06:45.Detroit, in the sense that they were towed to toe with Dallas for the

:06:46. > :06:50.first half and it fell apart? It seems to be, because they were in

:06:51. > :06:55.the game in the first half and you see the half-time adjustments and

:06:56. > :06:58.Dallas came out and dominated. You know the psychology of this division

:06:59. > :07:03.very well. You were born and lived in Detroit's as a kid, you played

:07:04. > :07:08.for the Packers and the Vikings. As far as Detroit and Green Bay are

:07:09. > :07:13.concerned, going into this game in week 17, who has the psychological

:07:14. > :07:19.advantage? Green Bay definitely have the psychological advantage. They

:07:20. > :07:26.have always been Big Brother in this conference, in this division. And so

:07:27. > :07:34.when you have an opportunity to shut for, and you are Detroit, you can't

:07:35. > :07:39.not capitalise on that opportunity. The positive for Detroit is that

:07:40. > :07:42.they lost to the NFC number one seed, and they have someone

:07:43. > :07:47.experienced in Matthew Stafford. They are not taking on Green Bay

:07:48. > :07:51.with a rookie. There are always positives and you want to highlight

:07:52. > :07:55.them but I will play the positive role right now. I am looking at the

:07:56. > :07:58.position of a team that has pretty much have their hand on the steering

:07:59. > :08:04.wheel the entire time in this division. They still do, but now you

:08:05. > :08:08.have allowed a Green Bay Packers team, a rival team, a team that is

:08:09. > :08:13.typically you know if you can put them to rest, you should have done

:08:14. > :08:17.that, now you have given them an opportunity to put their hand on the

:08:18. > :08:25.steering wheel. And typically, if they get their hand on the steering

:08:26. > :08:32.wheel, they win. We have a new guest. I will talk to you, too,

:08:33. > :08:36.but... This is good. Talk to me about Dez Bryant. This was the

:08:37. > :08:43.position you played. First of all, the one-handed touchdown catch. This

:08:44. > :08:50.is typical, I don't know how I caught that, receiver moment. I will

:08:51. > :08:55.be honest. You are just trying to put your arms out to have an

:08:56. > :09:00.opportunity to pull the ball in. And once it hits your hand, it is like,

:09:01. > :09:07.I got it, I got it. It is one of those things where it just happens.

:09:08. > :09:10.And this? I think this shocked everyone not only on the field but

:09:11. > :09:15.watching, because I do not think we have ever seen Dez Bryant throws the

:09:16. > :09:21.ball, so no one is thinking that. We have seen him as a punt return,

:09:22. > :09:28.reverses. So you are thinking, he is running the ball, 100%. Even the

:09:29. > :09:35.commentators went, oh, my, he is left-handed! That is what I thought.

:09:36. > :09:39.He has some talent. Going back to the one-handed catch, should he have

:09:40. > :09:42.been penalised? Hand on the face mark. If it had been the other way

:09:43. > :09:50.round, you would have been penalised. You know me well, it was

:09:51. > :09:55.a facemask. But it was a situation where the referee could not see it,

:09:56. > :09:59.so I see why he got away with it. I don't even think he knew where his

:10:00. > :10:05.hand was. It doesn't matter, it is still the facemask. But the referee

:10:06. > :10:10.allowed him to play through that. Is it fair? Yes, because he is a

:10:11. > :10:16.receiver. I did not know I even had my hands illegally held!

:10:17. > :10:19.Next up, a quick look at some of the celebrations

:10:20. > :10:39.Make them know who your name is. That's all I got. I love you, boy.

:10:40. > :10:55.Finish it off. You've got to keep that. Good job. Don't relax.

:10:56. > :11:06.Congratulations, man, that was all you. The last thing as this, you get

:11:07. > :11:18.to keep the black jersey. Here are the important results.

:11:19. > :11:30.Following that defeat, the Buffalo Bills sacked their head coach.

:11:31. > :11:42.Tennessee blew their chances of taking the NFC South. Houston

:11:43. > :11:48.capitalised. And Oakland ended the hopes of Indianapolis. As far as the

:11:49. > :11:54.NFC East is concerned, Washington are still in the race. In the North

:11:55. > :11:59.itself, Green Bay have set up that winner takes all decider against

:12:00. > :12:03.Detroit. Atlanta's have moved to the number two seed position in the NFC

:12:04. > :12:16.after beating Carolina, and thanks to Seattle's defeat against Arizona.

:12:17. > :12:21.Let's start with the game between Baltimore and Pittsburgh's, which

:12:22. > :12:25.Baltimore could have taken. What a game, exactly what everybody wanted

:12:26. > :12:28.to see. They knew these were two competitive teams. You saw the big

:12:29. > :12:36.three of Pittsburgh's make it happen when it counted. You did. And you

:12:37. > :12:43.saw a B at his best. When you have a man like that, who first half

:12:44. > :12:46.catches one ball, second-half catches all the balls, but he

:12:47. > :12:51.catches and makes the big play in the key moments of the game, and it

:12:52. > :12:55.just, like you said, it is Pittsburgh's, Baltimore at its

:12:56. > :13:08.finest moments. That will make it even harder to

:13:09. > :13:12.take, given how it panned out. The Broncos will have to bounce back

:13:13. > :13:15.next season. How surprised are you that as Super Bowl winners last

:13:16. > :13:20.year, they are not even in the playoffs. I am not too surprised

:13:21. > :13:25.because when you look at the make-up of their team, even last year when

:13:26. > :13:29.they won, they were heavily strong in the defensive side of the ball.

:13:30. > :13:35.Offensively, they were able to get by because you had Peyton Manning,

:13:36. > :13:38.who knew how to manage the game, even though his skill set had

:13:39. > :13:43.diminished a bit. He still knew how to get the ball to his playmakers.

:13:44. > :13:46.This year, they did not have the quarterback to put them in position

:13:47. > :13:53.where their defense could exhale any time. Their defense was a worn out

:13:54. > :13:58.defense. They still played great, but it just wasn't enough.

:13:59. > :14:08.Will they be on the look out for a more experienced quarterback? They

:14:09. > :14:12.are rolling with him next year. They drafted him high. They will give him

:14:13. > :14:17.a shot. I mean, if he believes in you, you have a chance. They will

:14:18. > :14:21.roll with him next year. They wouldn't pick up the phone to Tony?

:14:22. > :14:28.I don't think that it's not that they won't. When you look at youth

:14:29. > :14:36.and you look at age. When you look at Tony Romo what he presents is a

:14:37. > :14:43.solution for short-term. So short-term you can't keep doing that

:14:44. > :14:47.and prolonging what you know - this is our future. I'm with you, Jason.

:14:48. > :14:51.They have to go with the young guy. I like this situation. It doesn't

:14:52. > :14:56.happen very often? I like what is happening here. In 18 months of

:14:57. > :15:07.doing this show I don't think I heard anybody go, "I'm with you

:15:08. > :15:11.Jason." I'm different... We found the difference. Speaking of leaders

:15:12. > :15:16.and experience. Carp Carr might not have the experience of a Peyton

:15:17. > :15:22.Manning. He is the Raiders leader. How are they going to cope without

:15:23. > :15:27.him in the playoffs? That was hard to watch. I saw a Raiders team on

:15:28. > :15:32.the roll. It was like the air went out of the tyre. They have weapons

:15:33. > :15:36.on offense. The team is built around offense line. He makes it tick. You

:15:37. > :15:41.talk about the air going out of it. We had a thing three weeks ago, we

:15:42. > :15:45.had a discussion about the crowd in Oakland when Derek Carr dislocated

:15:46. > :15:53.his finger. The huge concern that went around the stadium and the sigh

:15:54. > :15:58.of relief. This is his season ended, he broke his leg. The air has gone

:15:59. > :16:02.out of it. When I look at Derek Carr, I don't just see a guy who is

:16:03. > :16:07.a great player, he is a great team-mate. He is a great human

:16:08. > :16:13.being. The fans love him. He engages with any and everyone on his team,

:16:14. > :16:17.which, I'm not saying all quarterbacks don't do that. When you

:16:18. > :16:21.see a young guy who shows emotion. It's not even that he's trying to

:16:22. > :16:27.show leadership, this is just who he is. This is just his personality. It

:16:28. > :16:32.literally, it creates this dominoe effect. It's infectious, when you

:16:33. > :16:37.have a leader, who is as passionate. Who is as likeable in the locker

:16:38. > :16:43.room and outside of the locker room, then to go down. He's the playmaker

:16:44. > :16:47.at that. It's going to suck the air and the life out of not only that

:16:48. > :16:51.organisation and that team, which they were having an unbelievable

:16:52. > :16:55.run. Rolling. I don't see them being able to get over that. What

:16:56. > :17:00.psychologically does that do to you as a member of that offense. Do you

:17:01. > :17:06.have any touts when your back up guy comes? ? You do, but you don't don't

:17:07. > :17:09.say it. You never say it. You want to give that back up guy that

:17:10. > :17:13.confidence. Like - we believe in you. It's not that they don't really

:17:14. > :17:19.believe in him, but it's just not the same belief we had in Derek. Not

:17:20. > :17:25.the same magic. It's not the same. He knows that. At the same time, as

:17:26. > :17:29.you lose... When you have pieces around you that you can still get

:17:30. > :17:36.the job done. All they really need is a guy who can really manage the

:17:37. > :17:39.game. Again, they have an unbelievable offensive line. Second

:17:40. > :17:43.best in the Can't say the league. Best in the league. I think they

:17:44. > :17:45.will rely heavily, a lot more on-the-running game. We will see.

:17:46. > :17:49.They still have an opportunity in front of them. We will see what they

:17:50. > :18:05.do with it. Let us clarify the playoff picture for you.

:18:06. > :18:11.Our six teams are confirmed in the playoffs but for Kansas and Oakland

:18:12. > :18:15.they head into Week 17 fighting it out for the second seed and

:18:16. > :18:19.avoidance of the wildcard weekend. How crushing will Derek Carr's

:18:20. > :18:25.injury be to Oakland's aspirations making that second seed and

:18:26. > :18:30.progressing in the playoffs. Atlanta can secure that first round bye in

:18:31. > :18:37.Week 17 if they beat New Orleans leaving Seattle to fight it out in

:18:38. > :18:41.wildcarded weekend. The Washington Redskins will be looking over at

:18:42. > :18:46.that green be bay Detroit game hoping to take advantage. Detroit

:18:47. > :18:54.lose and they beat New York Giants it's the Redskins who will go

:18:55. > :18:59.through the playoffs. Tampa mathmatically still in contention

:19:00. > :19:04.but I think it's safe to say Bucs fans can start looking at holiday

:19:05. > :19:09.destinations. What would you look for if you lined up against him.

:19:10. > :19:14.Greg will explain what he is looking for if he lines up against you? I'm

:19:15. > :19:20.looking for tips. I'm taking myself back in time. I would like to talk

:19:21. > :19:24.about being impressed. First of all, what are you looking at? What are

:19:25. > :19:29.your reads as a wide receiver? When I come to the line, I assess the

:19:30. > :19:33.defense, my first... I'm not really looking at my corner, I'm looking at

:19:34. > :19:41.my safety. I'm looking at you, Mark. That's me. I'm looking at my safety

:19:42. > :19:43.to make sure I can identify what coverage they potentially will go

:19:44. > :19:48.into or they will stay into what they are showing me right now. The

:19:49. > :19:51.man opposite you, Jason, you are not paying that much attention to at the

:19:52. > :19:55.moment. You know he will follow you whatever happens? Exactly.

:19:56. > :19:59.Regardless, he's in this third. Soy I know he will be somewhere here. He

:20:00. > :20:03.is either going to follow me and man, or he's going to play quarters

:20:04. > :20:08.and have this quarter of the field or third of the field. You, on the

:20:09. > :20:14.other hand, You can do several different things. Oh, believe you

:20:15. > :20:19.me... Believe you me, Greg. My eyes need to understand what you are

:20:20. > :20:24.doing pre-snap and after snap. I need to do things, I'm worried about

:20:25. > :20:29.my corner. You have no faith in me. If you are worried you will be a too

:20:30. > :20:33.high safety. In the past you described this. You are not

:20:34. > :20:37.necessarily looking at Greg's face or even his helmet here. You are

:20:38. > :20:42.looking at feet position, hips, hands that kind of stuff.

:20:43. > :20:46.Absolutely. Why are you doing that? All of this can fool me. This is

:20:47. > :20:51.trickery. I have to look at his waist. If we are man-to-man. The

:20:52. > :20:56.quarterback is in here. I'm taking away the inside. I will line up like

:20:57. > :21:00.this. I'm looking at his waist. If he releases here, now, I immediate

:21:01. > :21:03.leg take my eyes and I'm looking at his opposite hip. That will tell me

:21:04. > :21:09.where he's going. If he turns in to me, I see the hip. If he turns away,

:21:10. > :21:12.I follow the hip. The other thing, people might not have seen this last

:21:13. > :21:17.year. The other thing that I found really, you go back there. You have

:21:18. > :21:20.done it. The other thing you look at is, after a certain number of

:21:21. > :21:26.seconds you look for when he turns his head, don't you Jason, you then

:21:27. > :21:29.know the ball is coming. It If we go down field and a field. I have a

:21:30. > :21:32.clock in my head. I need to start looking. That is the

:21:33. > :21:37.only way I can play-the-ball in the air. If he looks befores me. I'm

:21:38. > :21:40.looking this way. I can get a pass interference. I have to

:21:41. > :21:46.play-the-ball when he plays the ball in the air. When a a guy is going

:21:47. > :21:51.down the field their eyes light up. Once the ball is in the air they

:21:52. > :21:56.tell the defender the ball is coming their eyes get big. I would practice

:21:57. > :22:01.being as relaxed as possible and looking as late as possible. It made

:22:02. > :22:04.me a better catcher of the ball and a better runner because I could

:22:05. > :22:08.focus on running versuses looking and running at the same time. The

:22:09. > :22:12.beauty of doing this show is that a lot of people tweet us and get in

:22:13. > :22:15.touch with us who are discovering the game or have fallen back in love

:22:16. > :22:20.with the game after a long time. Do you think they would be surprised by

:22:21. > :22:24.the mental dexterity required and that it isn't just running, turning,

:22:25. > :22:29.catching a ball? Totally. We were talking about how being a receiver

:22:30. > :22:34.you have to get to the line of scrummage and know so many different

:22:35. > :22:36.things going on and be able to work with your quarterback on

:22:37. > :22:40.understanding the different scenarios. How many plays would you

:22:41. > :22:46.say you had to learn when you were at Green Bay? Oh, man. I don't even

:22:47. > :22:55.know how many plays. It was basically concepts. So you would

:22:56. > :22:59.know the names of some... Destroit. Or Pennsylvania. They would be

:23:00. > :23:06.concepts for everyone in the offense. -- Detroit. When you heard

:23:07. > :23:11.that name you knew your assignment. Flipping that, that was the West

:23:12. > :23:17.Coast offense. Green Bay, call of play. Absolutely. It's a word. It

:23:18. > :23:25.will be a word. Maybe a couple... In the West Coast Offense use as least

:23:26. > :23:31.as possible for the quarterback. Then you number system. You played

:23:32. > :23:37.it with the Vikings and Miami. It's a great system, I dislike it for

:23:38. > :23:42.guys that are on the opposite of me. We love it. To where they hear the

:23:43. > :23:48.number... A number system. Do they call the play in a number system.

:23:49. > :23:55.What would you hear? You would hear like, 4, 67, 4, 78. You hear that.

:23:56. > :24:00.You know predicated on where you are if you playing X slot or the Z. The

:24:01. > :24:06.X gets the first number, let slot gets the second number and the Z

:24:07. > :24:11.gets the last number. Now where it comes to hurt the offense is in the

:24:12. > :24:16.two minutes the most crucial part of the game... Absolutely. You have to

:24:17. > :24:21.relay those numbers. If I'm running back to the line of scrimmage and I

:24:22. > :24:30.don't hear the numbers, the guy inside is relaying that. 9, 9, 9!

:24:31. > :24:35.Jason here. I'm listening. He is hearing the 9. If he's smart and

:24:36. > :24:40.savvy. Which he was when he played. Going deep. He knows I'm going deep

:24:41. > :24:44.they see what you run. The next time you hear that number now you are

:24:45. > :24:49.sitting on that route. Fascinating. Thank you. Thank you very much. He

:24:50. > :24:59.was smart and Saffy. Absolutely. Absolutely. Man, we're good! I have

:25:00. > :25:12.to find someone to take the mick out of him without Osi.

:25:13. > :25:20.Let's look at the Week 17 fixtures. How do you see the Guyants at the

:25:21. > :25:25.Red skins? In order to be a playoff team that has impact in the playoffs

:25:26. > :25:33.Elie has to play better. He has to play better. He has been known to

:25:34. > :25:36.play great in the playoffs, but the way he's typically turning up by the

:25:37. > :25:41.time they are in the playoffs, right now he is not looking so hot. No.

:25:42. > :25:46.Does it bowl down to how Cowes incompetence deals with the Giants

:25:47. > :25:51.defense? Yeah. He has to play well and execute. They can't turn the

:25:52. > :25:55.ball over on offense and put pressure on defensive and give

:25:56. > :25:59.Cousins opportunities. I give the nod to the Redskins with the way

:26:00. > :26:04.they are playing. Their offense has it going. They have weapons. Jenkins

:26:05. > :26:09.down for the Giants. There is a lot... You are playing that home.

:26:10. > :26:11.You got everything on the line. It's, it's either all-or-nothing.

:26:12. > :26:19.This is why you love watching the game. I'm getting excited a little

:26:20. > :26:21.It will affect bit. The Packers or Lions whoever loses that if

:26:22. > :26:26.Washington win, out of the playoffs. If it ends as a tie we will need

:26:27. > :26:31.calculators. We will work it out. How do you see the final two games?

:26:32. > :26:36.I think the Raiders can pull it off. Without Derek Carr? Without Derek

:26:37. > :26:41.Carr. The reason I believe the offense line and the running game.

:26:42. > :26:45.Denver had a problem stopping a run on defense. They can expose that.

:26:46. > :26:53.Kansas City will run away with the Chargers. Easy call. Yeah. Chargers

:26:54. > :26:57.lost to Cleveland. Come on. We don't need to talk about that! We don't.

:26:58. > :27:03.Let's look at the other plays during the week.

:27:04. > :27:09.There was plenty of Christmas cheer around the NFL this week. He looks

:27:10. > :27:16.delighted to have be dressed as a reindeer. They look happier. Quick

:27:17. > :27:21.feet around as well. Sproles for the Eagles against the Giants. Kenyan

:27:22. > :27:26.Drake showing his sprint. Unbelievable. I was disappointed in

:27:27. > :27:33.Buffalo flow. That is almost high school. The quickest, the quickest

:27:34. > :27:44.though for pure raw pace. He takes the gold every week. Tyreek Hill,

:27:45. > :27:49.away from the bronco's defense. Aaron Rodgers wanting to get in on

:27:50. > :27:57.the act. If you are dealing with a healthy Rodgers, look out. Tyrod

:27:58. > :28:02.Taylor credit for the throw. Better catch from Allen Robinson. He looked

:28:03. > :28:05.good in the slips. A little too late in the year now. They didn't have a

:28:06. > :28:13.great start. This was sad. That was just. Sad or funny depending on your

:28:14. > :28:17.perspective from Minnesota Vikings. Make a play in this game. There you

:28:18. > :28:22.go, big boy. That is what we waited for. That's cute. That is my

:28:23. > :28:30.favourite play. Favourite play of the season. Favourite play of the

:28:31. > :28:35.season. Lambo with the present for all Cleveland fans.

:28:36. > :28:40.COMMENTATOR: He missed it. He knows he is getting back on that plane!

:28:41. > :28:46.When he gets Mate back on that plane everybody is looking at him - man,

:28:47. > :28:51.get out of here. He may have to stand the whole way back. He may

:28:52. > :28:53.have stayed in Cleveland. He would have been bought drinks all night.

:28:54. > :28:58.He is a hero. You can join us again this Tuesday

:28:59. > :29:01.at 11.15pm for NFL This Week, where we bring you all the best

:29:02. > :29:04.of the action from Week 17. A huge thank you to Greg

:29:05. > :29:07.for being with us this week, you are welcome here

:29:08. > :29:09.whenever you want. We'll be telling Osi he needs

:29:10. > :29:12.to up his game when he returns And to all of you watching,

:29:13. > :29:17.see you in 2017. Have a Happy New Year. Just for a

:29:18. > :29:31.moment there is a pause. The contenders know the route is

:29:32. > :29:35.planned, congratulations are due and are over. No time to hear the

:29:36. > :29:44.applause. No time to waste on what has been. No time to lose. The

:29:45. > :29:47.playoffs beckon and the race resumes unrelenting, ever faster. Only in

:29:48. > :29:53.the NFL.
