:00:41. > :00:44.Since its inception in 2011, each WSL1 title race has gone

:00:45. > :00:48.down to the wire and it?s looking like the conclusion to season 4 will

:00:49. > :00:59.From pretenders to contenders, how Emma Hayes has transformed Chelsea.

:01:00. > :01:09.We say hola to new Arsenal boss Pedro Martinez Losa.

:01:10. > :01:14.And after an eventful week for Scotland, we voted yes to

:01:15. > :01:17.Both tonight?s guests know what it?s like to get their hands on the WSL1

:01:18. > :01:23.England and Man City captain Steph Houghton was twice

:01:24. > :01:26.Matt Beard helped break the Gunners' stranglehold last season

:01:27. > :01:32.and could still get his hands on it again this year.

:01:33. > :01:35.Having finished second from bottom last season,

:01:36. > :01:38.not too many expected Chelsea to be title contenders this time around

:01:39. > :01:43.but, like their male counterparts, the Blues have a special manager at

:01:44. > :01:58.How would you describe yourself as a coach? Innovative, creative and

:01:59. > :02:07.driven. She has helped guide Chelsea to the top of FA WSL. She is the

:02:08. > :02:11.only woman managing in the league. Does she feel any pressure? I was

:02:12. > :02:16.the only girl in America, so it is not unusual for me. I think

:02:17. > :02:25.sometimes too much attention is paid to it. It is not easy per female

:02:26. > :02:35.coaches, but you have to make it happen. Women coaches are way down

:02:36. > :02:40.in numbers? There are a couple in the leagues below. And that is what

:02:41. > :02:47.is needed, strong players who have come through, good pedigrees who are

:02:48. > :02:51.willing to take the risk. We need that to happen for more female

:02:52. > :02:57.coaches. I am grateful I have had good people to learn from. Do you

:02:58. > :03:02.have much contact with Jose Mourinho? We talk football, Beattock

:03:03. > :03:06.players, but the quality of female players coming through. He has a

:03:07. > :03:13.very keen interest in this whole football club. I don't think he gets

:03:14. > :03:19.out credit sometimes. He is very keen to see Chelsea evolve from top

:03:20. > :03:22.to bottom. Emma Hayes entry you would a difficult start to Chelsea

:03:23. > :03:30.with just three league wins in the first season. For us, it is about

:03:31. > :03:34.preparation for next season. That prophecy has come to fruition this

:03:35. > :03:38.year with Chelsea emerging as contenders are the WSL1 title.

:03:39. > :03:42.Bringing a lot of winners into the club this year has made a big

:03:43. > :03:50.impact, especially on all young players. We have got the spine of

:03:51. > :03:56.the team right. We all wanted and it is up to players like myself. We

:03:57. > :04:02.have to have the belief that we are good enough to do it. I am learning

:04:03. > :04:09.my career. We have got top English players in here. I think she has got

:04:10. > :04:14.the balance spot on. You have got the older players and youngsters

:04:15. > :04:22.coming through, foreign players and British players. It is a good blend.

:04:23. > :04:30.The South Korean international has taken it! I worked in America for

:04:31. > :04:37.ten years he American players got better as a result of the influx of

:04:38. > :04:43.foreign players. English talent is thriving as a result of, if nothing

:04:44. > :04:49.else, picking up other habits. They can have all the fantastic work

:04:50. > :04:52.ethic. Does it frustrate you when people say that because of the

:04:53. > :04:57.investment because of the facilities, you should have been

:04:58. > :05:03.winning things sooner? We have the fifth biggest budget in the league

:05:04. > :05:09.so as far as I am concerned, we are overachieving. The perception is you

:05:10. > :05:13.have spent lots of money. I think Chelsea have done it the right way,

:05:14. > :05:17.they have built to last, they are not just throwing money at player

:05:18. > :05:31.investments. A lot of the staff is part-time. To finish above the

:05:32. > :05:38.fifth, it means that it has been a worthwhile investment. Are you going

:05:39. > :05:42.to win the league? My chairman told me at the weekend that we are

:05:43. > :05:47.mathematically safe from relegation, I was pleased to hear that. I don't

:05:48. > :05:53.think she feels the pressure. If she does, she does not show it. I enjoy

:05:54. > :05:58.watching them grow as the team, I enjoy their style of play, wherever

:05:59. > :06:03.we finish this year, it will be a massive success for us. Chelsea's

:06:04. > :06:12.title bid was dented at Notts County. The blues fell behind after

:06:13. > :06:21.45 minutes. But after the break, Chelsea came out of finding. Notts

:06:22. > :06:29.County were lucky to hold onto their lead.

:06:30. > :06:34.Chelsea knew a win would consolidate their position at the top of the

:06:35. > :06:40.table but still could not find the breakthrough. They were reduced to

:06:41. > :06:52.shooting from distance as the clock ran down. The Lady Pies held on to

:06:53. > :06:57.boost their hopes of survival and blew the title race one open.

:06:58. > :07:03.Just when we think one team is going to win this league, they go and lose

:07:04. > :07:04.unexpectedly. Do they think -- do you think anybody really wants

:07:05. > :07:10.unexpectedly. Do they think -- do win it? It doesn't look like it. But

:07:11. > :07:12.it is very exciting. Your former club has

:07:13. > :07:19.it is very exciting. Your former season. Last year, the lost ten of

:07:20. > :07:31.their 11 league matches. Why the improvement? As Emma Hayes said, she

:07:32. > :07:37.has brought in some great players. And the Korean girl has been a

:07:38. > :07:43.revelation. Yes, she is so young, but what quality. The leaders that

:07:44. > :07:48.we are hearing about, ready-made winners just like you at Arsenal. Is

:07:49. > :07:56.that winning mentality one of the key things? Yes, it brings something

:07:57. > :08:00.different to your side. That has proved the point with Chelsea this

:08:01. > :08:04.year who were not as good last year, but with the new players

:08:05. > :08:09.coming in, it adds more experience and they are definitely all winners

:08:10. > :08:19.on and off the pitch. I be the best team in this league? We'll see at

:08:20. > :08:26.the end of the season. -- are they? They are tough opposition. But saw

:08:27. > :08:31.Liverpool and Birmingham. It will be exciting towards the end of the

:08:32. > :08:34.season. Uber nodding away when Emma Hayes was talking about the

:08:35. > :08:38.professionalism of foreign players. Is that the reason why you brought

:08:39. > :08:47.in foreign players as well? When I came to the club, Arsenal had been

:08:48. > :08:52.dominating for years and Birmingham tried it with just domestic players,

:08:53. > :08:56.you could not overtake them. We looked at who we could bring in and

:08:57. > :08:59.we had a good balance of English players and foreign players. They do

:09:00. > :09:09.bring a different mentality to the table. My domestic players have

:09:10. > :09:13.benefited from that greatly. I think the whole standard has improved

:09:14. > :09:17.because of that. Emma Hayes was seeing about Chelsea having the

:09:18. > :09:24.fifth highest budget, how do managers know that? You'll have ask,

:09:25. > :09:38.I don't know. People said we had a big budget last year. I just

:09:39. > :09:44.concentrate on Liverpool. Thank you. Talking of Josie Marine or, she said

:09:45. > :10:01.she talks with him about football. Brendon Leonard -- Jose Mourinho.

:10:02. > :10:04.Brendan Rogers is your manager. There is a 1 club mentality. We can

:10:05. > :10:10.sit down and talk, I can bring him up, I have spoken to him about

:10:11. > :10:16.different formations, looking at different systems. Brendan took the

:10:17. > :10:17.time to sit down with me and go through certain things. That support

:10:18. > :10:20.network, it definitely helps. Birmingham and Liverpool were both

:10:21. > :10:22.hoping to capitalise on Chelsea?s surprise defeat to Notts County

:10:23. > :10:36.and as it happens they went head to Knowing a win over their opponents

:10:37. > :10:46.would send them second in the table, Liverpool took the lead from Amanda

:10:47. > :10:51.Da Costa. Birmingham equalised from Hannah Keryakoplis. Then

:10:52. > :10:59.controversy. No research vessel from the referee and Fara Williams

:11:00. > :11:06.audacious strike was allowed to set band -- allowed to stand. There was

:11:07. > :11:10.no whistle in terms of the kick-off. But there are no complaints about

:11:11. > :11:20.that, it was a moment of brilliance from Fara Williams.

:11:21. > :11:33.Manchester City heaped more misery on them. Manchester City ended

:11:34. > :11:40.fifth, and Everton are facing, certain relegation.

:11:41. > :11:43.Going back to that controversial moment in the Birmingham Liverpool

:11:44. > :11:49.match, the referee admitted that he made a mistake. The law states that

:11:50. > :11:54.the referee must give a signal, he does not have too blown his whistle.

:11:55. > :12:00.The authorities say that the referee did not give any sort of signal and

:12:01. > :12:09.so did have the power to do is allow the goal and restart the game. That

:12:10. > :12:19.is where the error was made. You would've gone absolutely ballistic?

:12:20. > :12:22.It was a tough game yesterday. I felt we deserved the three points

:12:23. > :12:27.over the course of the 90 minutes. It is controversial. But there are

:12:28. > :12:35.no complaints. And I would agree with him. In terms on the pitch, and

:12:36. > :12:40.in the tunnel afterwards, was any kerfuffle about it? No, I didn't see

:12:41. > :12:44.anything to be honest with you. It was such a big game yesterday with

:12:45. > :12:50.Chelsea dropping points against Notts County. It was back in

:12:51. > :12:53.Birmingham's hands. We can see that there was a lot of nervousness

:12:54. > :12:57.there. For us, it was a good performance. And the goal was

:12:58. > :13:05.fantastic, worthy of winning any game. A fantastic finish. You are

:13:06. > :13:10.just one point of the game, -- one point of the top, how confident are

:13:11. > :13:21.you? We have a tough game against Arsenal next. That is not easy. We

:13:22. > :13:27.also have two Champions League games. I have been vocal about

:13:28. > :13:33.players being called up to the under 21 World Cup. I think really are

:13:34. > :13:36.sitting in the table, it is a massive achievement and all credit

:13:37. > :13:41.to my players first or being involved in it.

:13:42. > :13:46.At Manchester City, you will have quite a say in this title race. Your

:13:47. > :13:50.last two matches are at home to Birmingham and Chelsea, how do you

:13:51. > :13:55.see it coming out? It is hard to say. You want to compete in every

:13:56. > :14:00.game. Our focus is on trying to win as many games from now to the end of

:14:01. > :14:05.the season. We have a cup final to prepare for, we will try to gain

:14:06. > :14:09.some confidence and form because the league has been a little bit stop

:14:10. > :14:13.start this season. We want a good run of games and to get everybody

:14:14. > :14:16.fit and ready for the final. How would you assess the start you have

:14:17. > :14:26.made in the WSL compared to what you started at the start? If you had

:14:27. > :14:30.said we would be competing in a cup final and finishing in the top five,

:14:31. > :14:36.I think we would have snapped your hand off. We had a tough start to

:14:37. > :14:39.the finish. The manager has us organised very well. We have made

:14:40. > :14:42.great strides over the last few games. We want to compete in every

:14:43. > :14:55.game and win every game. And now you're all full-time. We

:14:56. > :15:00.have made sure of the programme is that the girls are in from Tuesday

:15:01. > :15:02.to Friday, and on the ball as much as possible. That has made a huge

:15:03. > :15:07.difference. Whoever wins WSL1 title can be sure

:15:08. > :15:09.that Arsenal will be hungry to reclaim the trophy next season under

:15:10. > :15:12.the guidance of new manager Pedro Martinez Losa.

:15:13. > :15:20.Faye White investigates. This season may be coming to an end

:15:21. > :15:30.but it is time for a new beginning at Arsenal. I'm here to meet Pedro

:15:31. > :15:36.Martinez Losa. What kind of team can we expect under your management? I

:15:37. > :15:43.want to see an aggressive team who are willing to win and showed their

:15:44. > :15:48.opponents the message that they want to win every game. I think it is a

:15:49. > :16:01.beautiful game for Arsenal and for me as my first game. A great pitch.

:16:02. > :16:05.So we have just kicked off. Last time Arsenal played Bristol they

:16:06. > :16:08.were in a different formation. Now they're back in a more familiar

:16:09. > :16:23.formation. they're back in a more familiar

:16:24. > :16:29.really need a response from the team now. So an early change for Arsenal.

:16:30. > :16:32.Kelly Smith comes on for Casey Stoney. Arsenal need to get closer

:16:33. > :16:52.in midfield to their opposite number.

:16:53. > :17:19.That is a complete transformation from the first half.

:17:20. > :17:26.Arsenal are completely different team in the second half. There are

:17:27. > :17:37.Russian and intensity in the play, it is what Pedro said he wanted from

:17:38. > :17:42.the start of the game. So there you have it, a complete

:17:43. > :17:47.transformation in the second half. A change in attitude more than the

:17:48. > :17:55.tactics and a lot to take from that game. A great turn around, what did

:17:56. > :18:03.you say to them? I said an early goal would help us and also Kelly

:18:04. > :18:09.Smith joining made a difference. She is a standout player. Who else

:18:10. > :18:19.impressed you smack Danielle Carter was doing really well, finding

:18:20. > :18:38.space. And we combined really well. -- who else impressed you? ? We wish

:18:39. > :18:44.you well for the rest of the season. Pedro of course spent much of his

:18:45. > :18:55.career in Spain. What did they got the key issues him? -- what do you

:18:56. > :18:59.think are the key issues for him. Well they have world-class players

:19:00. > :19:05.in the likes of Kelly Smith and up-and-coming players. I think

:19:06. > :19:10.Arsenal just need to get more consistency. It has been an

:19:11. > :19:14.up-and-down season with a lot of players leaving. Now they have a new

:19:15. > :19:23.manager so exciting times ahead. It is a new era. Arsenal used to having

:19:24. > :19:27.things their own way over the years. For the neutrals it is now far more

:19:28. > :19:36.interesting with more teams competing at the top. What do you

:19:37. > :19:41.think Pedro will have as his remit? Well he has the opportunity between

:19:42. > :19:47.now and the end of the season to assess the players. There are some

:19:48. > :19:52.world-class players in that team. I think they need a bit of stability

:19:53. > :19:59.now. To get a good run together and prepare now for next year. It is

:20:00. > :20:06.strange to talk about Arsenal and stability because they have been so

:20:07. > :20:10.stable. Pedro, you played against his side in the Champions League a

:20:11. > :20:17.few years ago. What Kite of the game do you think we can expect? -- type.

:20:18. > :20:25.When we played them they wanted to move and to pass. I think Arsenal

:20:26. > :20:29.are pretty much that kind of side anyway. So it is just fine tuning

:20:30. > :20:36.them into the best attacking force in the country. Just to have a look

:20:37. > :20:41.at the table now. Arsenal currently fourth. Everton still without a win

:20:42. > :20:46.and right at the bottom of the table. They will be relegated on

:20:47. > :20:50.Saturday if they fail to beat Notts County.

:20:51. > :20:54.So the Toffees stuck to the bottom of WSL1, England finished

:20:55. > :20:56.top of their World Cup Qualifying group with a perfect record after

:20:57. > :21:20.Thursday's mauling of Montenegro. 10-Lil on the day. -- nil. We were

:21:21. > :21:25.disappointed with that goal. We wanted to get as many clean sheets

:21:26. > :21:30.as we could. But the most important thing is to qualify. It is my to get

:21:31. > :21:34.the confidence going in the lead up to the World Cup. -- it is nice.

:21:35. > :21:37.Confirmation then of England's progression

:21:38. > :21:39.as group winners with 100% record. Wales miss out

:21:40. > :21:42.on a play-off spot after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the Ukraine.

:21:43. > :21:44.We'll find out who England face when the draw for the World Cup is

:21:45. > :21:55.made on 6th December. Next up for the lionesses, Wembley

:21:56. > :22:06.Stadium on Sunday the 23rd of November. Well some of us were lucky

:22:07. > :22:14.enough to be at Wembley to see death score in the Olympics. All the girls

:22:15. > :22:20.are excited to go to play at Wembley Stadium. It is what you dream of, to

:22:21. > :22:27.play for your country. We hope to have as many fans as possible. It is

:22:28. > :22:30.going to be a good test for us. The England captain calling for everyone

:22:31. > :22:38.to go out and buy tickets! We know England's place at the

:22:39. > :22:41.World Cup is secured. Scotland though must negotiate

:22:42. > :22:44.the play-offs and hoping to guide them through will be Kim Little.

:22:45. > :22:48.After winning her 100th cap last week the young Scot sat down with

:22:49. > :22:52.Sue Smith to reflect on what has been an incredible journey so far.

:22:53. > :23:02.For a youngster of just 24 football has taken Kim Little all over the

:23:03. > :23:14.world. She scored a hat-trick on her debut for Hibernian aged 16. And the

:23:15. > :23:23.form continued at Arsenal. She was Player of the Year in 2013. What did

:23:24. > :23:32.that mean to you? To be there on the night of the awards was a victory

:23:33. > :23:38.itself. And to win was very special. I'm proud of that. You left Arsenal

:23:39. > :23:47.shortly afterwards. And then you moved stateside to Seattle. She was

:23:48. > :23:57.the top scorer after just one season. Do you enjoy where the game

:23:58. > :24:01.takes you? It has given me so many opportunities in life. Not just

:24:02. > :24:06.professionally, it has given me the chance to travel from a young age.

:24:07. > :24:10.And for me that has been the best for my personality and character. I

:24:11. > :24:19.would recommend that to anyone to travel. How is life on the West

:24:20. > :24:30.Coast? It is a pretty relaxed way of living. Seattle is on the water. You

:24:31. > :24:35.won a lot of trophies at Arsenal and then moved on to Seattle. How much

:24:36. > :24:41.impact has Laura had on your career? I think I fitted in to the

:24:42. > :24:48.way that she wanted the game to be played. I was glad that she offered

:24:49. > :25:04.me the chance to go to Seattle. There was no doubt and no correct.

:25:05. > :25:10.-- no regrets. Kim Little also likes to make waves

:25:11. > :25:17.and is a driving force for Scotland and the designs on making the first

:25:18. > :25:23.international tournament. You feel you were unlucky not to go through

:25:24. > :25:29.automatically? Sweden are a fantastic side. We are happy with

:25:30. > :25:36.our position. We have a good chance. It could be the first major

:25:37. > :25:44.tournament for Scotland. Is that an incentive? It is a huge incentive.

:25:45. > :25:56.We missed out in the Europe play-offs. So we are going into

:25:57. > :25:58.play-offs again but we have experience in these past few

:25:59. > :26:07.campaigns so I think we're ready for this now. It seems it is her

:26:08. > :26:09.instinct to look ahead and see what the future might hold. So what is

:26:10. > :26:20.next for the free spirited midfielder? Have you had any offers

:26:21. > :26:25.or approaches? I decided not to go to Australia or Europe but to focus

:26:26. > :26:29.on Scotland and get ready for these play-offs.

:26:30. > :26:33.As Group 4 runners up Scotland now face the play-offs where four teams

:26:34. > :26:37.will battle it out for the final place at the World Cup.

:26:38. > :26:40.Tomorrow's draw will pair them with one of the seeded teams,

:26:41. > :26:42.Italy or the Netherlands. The winners

:26:43. > :26:50.of a two legged tie will progress to another two legged play-off final.

:26:51. > :26:52.Ukraine are the other side involved. And if like Kim you want to follow

:26:53. > :26:54.your dreams and start playing football then head

:26:55. > :26:55.over to bbc.co.uk/getinspired to find all the details

:26:56. > :27:11.of your nearest club. Scotland, what do you think their

:27:12. > :27:15.chances are of getting to Canada? Anything can happen and they have

:27:16. > :27:22.proved in the group stages that they can compete with the best. It would

:27:23. > :27:27.be great if they could get there. We are all admirers from afar but

:27:28. > :27:36.someone of her talent, how important is it to play on those kind of

:27:37. > :27:40.stages? I think it is so important. Kim is such a talented player and

:27:41. > :27:46.deserves to play in such a big tournament. She was happy with the

:27:47. > :27:52.play-offs and confident that Scotland can go through. They have

:27:53. > :27:58.improved a fair bit. They have some good players. When Kim was at
