:00:42. > :00:51.Good evening. The FA women's's Super League is back and bigger than --

:00:52. > :01:36.and better than ever. Nine teams are in the top flight.

:01:37. > :01:49.Nine. I am delighted to be joined by my guess too will cast a neutral and

:01:50. > :01:53.analytical eye over the proceedings tonight. We will bring you

:01:54. > :02:02.information about all the fixtures but we begin with Chelsea who faced

:02:03. > :02:06.a club reborn in recent years, Don Caster Rovers Belles. After their

:02:07. > :02:11.blueprint for the future failed to meet the criteria for the future,

:02:12. > :02:13.their application was denied by the FA and they were subsequently

:02:14. > :02:23.relegated after a 22 year stay in the top flight -- Doncaster. One of

:02:24. > :02:27.the game's most famous names is back and they have signalled their

:02:28. > :02:32.intent. The first dedicated women's training facility at an elite level

:02:33. > :02:37.in the UK will hopefully lead to ambitious signings. Chelsea's

:02:38. > :02:46.blueprint for success came to fruition last season but can the

:02:47. > :02:54.newly promoted team keep it up? This is the moment that Doncaster fought

:02:55. > :03:01.so hard for last season. To bring top-flight women's football back to

:03:02. > :03:11.the stadium. No need for motivation for Doncaster tonight, they have

:03:12. > :03:21.been busy recruiting. Another title winner at midfield. 17-year-old

:03:22. > :03:28.Samantha Tierney is in there is well and Chelsea has much depth and

:03:29. > :03:34.quality to their squad. Claire Rafferty is back in the top four.

:03:35. > :03:54.They include two former Doncaster players. Bath England makes her full

:03:55. > :04:06.Chelsea debut having just left. -- Beth.

:04:07. > :04:16.The England international summits that. Very difficult to catch up. --

:04:17. > :04:26.thumped. England are bright on the run. That is a penalty. Milly Bright

:04:27. > :04:34.fouled and the challenge was not timed well. Chelsea penalty. The new

:04:35. > :04:43.girl will take the free kick. Can she replicate her late success? And

:04:44. > :04:50.she can. It has taken them over 12 minutes but Chelsea are now in

:04:51. > :04:55.front. It is really important for Karen Carney to make a good start,

:04:56. > :05:15.for her confidence levels. And she has. That caused confusion and

:05:16. > :05:22.ultimately an own goal. Doncaster Belles our level. Rafferty was well

:05:23. > :05:28.aware of that and she knew that if she missed it, it would be an easy

:05:29. > :05:42.one. Doncaster Belles have got themselves back in the game. A

:05:43. > :05:58.lovely ball from Chapman. Well watched by Robert. Beth England with

:05:59. > :06:02.the header, would you believe that? Her debut for Chelsea against the

:06:03. > :06:26.club she has only just left and she scores against them to restore

:06:27. > :06:31.Chelsea's lead. Chelsea corner and it was a bit deeper this time. Katie

:06:32. > :06:52.Chapman has added Chelsea's third, just before halftime. The captain

:06:53. > :07:16.has made it 3-1. Chapman seems to be getting beyond centre-forward.

:07:17. > :07:22.Deflected along the way. Beautifully done. Virtually cleared off the line

:07:23. > :07:46.by Barker. She almost passed out into the net. A good safe in the end

:07:47. > :07:50.from Hobbes. A lovely goal and the goal to seal it once and for all for

:07:51. > :07:53.Chelsea and to make sure the champions are beginning their

:07:54. > :08:01.defence of the title with three points. That was Aluko. Format goals

:08:02. > :08:04.in the opening game and you have seen how difficult it is for teams

:08:05. > :08:12.to get many goals in the opener. I thought it was a good effort from

:08:13. > :08:16.us. The timing of Katie's goal was crucial. Absolutely. I thought we

:08:17. > :08:21.played really well and moved the ball well and created opportunities.

:08:22. > :08:28.We have world-class headers, so I am not surprised. World-class headers

:08:29. > :08:36.and players in that side. Did that play out in the end? I think Chelsea

:08:37. > :08:40.had the majority of the possession. It really meant the difference

:08:41. > :08:44.between the two sides. We are now going to look at the goals. The

:08:45. > :08:52.delivery is fantastic but the movement from Chelsea... First of

:08:53. > :08:55.all, Doncaster Belles are outnumbered. Four Chelsea players

:08:56. > :09:05.branched out and scattered and lost their markers. They should have been

:09:06. > :09:12.looking at that. Beth England made a wonderful header and put it in the

:09:13. > :09:15.back of the net. The second goal, second set piece, again Chelsea

:09:16. > :09:20.players with great movement, peeling off and causing havoc in the area.

:09:21. > :09:26.Doncaster Belles just can't pick it up. For goodness sake, Chelsea

:09:27. > :09:32.already had top-quality players last year. They won everything and then

:09:33. > :09:35.they go and throw another world-class player in Karen Carney

:09:36. > :09:42.into the mix. Their frontline is very scary. Karen Carney was at the

:09:43. > :09:48.World Cup in the summer and she was phenomenal. She was the heartbeat

:09:49. > :09:51.tonight right from the very start. Not only is she really agile with

:09:52. > :09:59.very quick feet, she lays the ball with such quality. Sometimes she

:10:00. > :10:05.plays it first and sometimes she moves it out into space. She really

:10:06. > :10:10.makes everything kick for Chelsea. It looks like she has been there for

:10:11. > :10:15.the whole season. She was absolutely phenomenal and if you look across,

:10:16. > :10:27.when Karen Carney is coming up, Gemma Davidson -- Davison has

:10:28. > :10:35.excellent pace. This goal epitomizes the quality that Chelsea have got. A

:10:36. > :10:40.phenomenal finish from Aluko into the bottom corner. They will be fun

:10:41. > :10:47.to watch again this season but what about Doncaster Belles? Lovers of

:10:48. > :10:50.the women's game are glad to see them in the top-flight. We know why

:10:51. > :10:54.they were relegated but they are back now. What they are in

:10:55. > :10:58.administration, run by people who have to know how to make the club

:10:59. > :11:02.work now. A very exciting prospect for the future with eight full-time

:11:03. > :11:08.players now. Everything about them now and epitomizes the professional

:11:09. > :11:13.outlook that they have and it is apt that they have named their new

:11:14. > :11:17.facility the Phoenix. Now they don't have a game for a month and not

:11:18. > :11:21.another home game for two months with Chelsea having six and a half

:11:22. > :11:25.weeks without a game between fixtures. What do you make of that?

:11:26. > :11:31.It is difficult for any team to generate momentum. They may be

:11:32. > :11:39.looking at expanding the league. Who knows. Many restraints. Next to the

:11:40. > :11:42.other newly promoted side, Reading who began life in the top-flight

:11:43. > :11:51.with a daunting trip to Arsenal. Who would emerge with the winning hand?

:11:52. > :11:57.For over a decade, Arsenal Ladies were the queens of English football.

:11:58. > :12:00.Crowned champions on an incredible 11 occasions. It has been three

:12:01. > :12:04.years since her last coronation but with a host of new signings, they

:12:05. > :12:09.were hoping to lay down an early marker against Reading. But they

:12:10. > :12:21.still managed to achieve promotion last season. Casting his eye over

:12:22. > :12:24.this one is our commentator. Reading's introduction promises to

:12:25. > :12:39.be challenging. Arsenal have been busy in the winter. Many of the

:12:40. > :12:52.Redding team are experiencing top-flight football for the first

:12:53. > :13:09.time. Many former Arsenal players make up their squad. Just too high

:13:10. > :13:27.this time. But Redding will need to defend better than that -- Reading.

:13:28. > :13:53.Arsenal have their first goal of the season! A fine individual effort by

:13:54. > :14:00.Dominic Janssen. That is a good ball, terrific -- Dominique. So

:14:01. > :14:15.unlucky! What a debut that would have been for Oshoala, inches away.

:14:16. > :14:24.Arsenal dominated the opening 45 minutes but they do need the second

:14:25. > :14:38.goal. Williamson has been a fabulous defender this evening. Oshoala again

:14:39. > :14:47.be on the goalkeeper, and she has her debut goal this time! Denied by

:14:48. > :14:55.the woodwork in the first half. Once again, Oshoala with a wonderful

:14:56. > :14:57.first touch to go beyond Grace Maloney and give the Arsenal fans a

:14:58. > :15:23.glimpse of what she could be capable of. -- Moloney. And they are back in

:15:24. > :15:43.the game again, that was a real gift. Williamson was caught out

:15:44. > :15:45.there. A brave finish. From a position of relative comfort,

:15:46. > :16:00.Arsenal are in a contest once again. A brilliant save from

:16:01. > :16:06.Moloney. Two of Arsenal's new signings combining superbly but the

:16:07. > :16:16.save was even better. Scott has done well. We know Williams can hit

:16:17. > :16:34.them. And this time it was deflected wide from the corner. And that

:16:35. > :16:38.should be enough to seal Arsenal's opening-day win with that goal from

:16:39. > :16:47.Carter. Relief finally from the coach. Danielle Carter rising

:16:48. > :16:53.highest. Reading have been brave but Arsenal are just too good. A word on

:16:54. > :17:00.the new players. How much did your new signings impress you? The main

:17:01. > :17:04.point is to bring good characters who can represent the values of the

:17:05. > :17:10.club. New layers who can learn from those values. We have a fantastic

:17:11. > :17:14.group with the fantastic vibe. They have worked hard from the first

:17:15. > :17:18.day, on and off the pitch. Sometimes when you come to a new team, you

:17:19. > :17:28.have to learn how to play with your teammates and couple of times I was

:17:29. > :17:36.still learning. I think we gave them a good game. There are things we

:17:37. > :17:41.need to tighten up and conceding 25-30 seconds in the second half

:17:42. > :17:47.didn't help. The newly promoted side did well for long periods in that

:17:48. > :17:50.game. How do you assess them? Reading certainly frustrated Arsenal

:17:51. > :17:56.and that was a good tactic. I think what they did very well was they got

:17:57. > :18:02.bodies behind the ball, they made sure that Arsenal couldn't have any

:18:03. > :18:07.time on the ball. Any time they were in possession, they got bodies

:18:08. > :18:13.around and hustled them. But in the end they started to fade a little

:18:14. > :18:21.bit. But I think the game that Kelly Chambers employed was a good

:18:22. > :18:35.tactic. They had possession with purpose. But the quality showed. For

:18:36. > :18:38.me, Dominique Janssen with fantastic. The goalkeeper should

:18:39. > :18:46.have done better. It was a good quality header from Danielle

:18:47. > :18:50.Carter. The young Nigerian striker is a big signing from Liverpool.

:18:51. > :18:57.They had a difficult time last season. They had finished as

:18:58. > :19:04.back-to-back champions before. What did you make of her? She didn't gel

:19:05. > :19:10.particularly well in Liverpool. She started out this game a little bit

:19:11. > :19:17.erratic. You could tell she hadn't quite found her teammates yet. She

:19:18. > :19:23.wasn't necessarily gelling. But she grew into this game and we saw at 30

:19:24. > :19:27.-40 minutes that she was in the thick of things. She was the target

:19:28. > :19:34.player and this touch with fantastic. It was unlucky to hit the

:19:35. > :19:39.post. A great save, she is a good target layer to have and she is most

:19:40. > :19:42.effective as a central player. A good little touch around the

:19:43. > :19:48.goalkeeper who committed early from me. A great finish and a good solid

:19:49. > :20:04.acquisition for Arsenal, no doubt. You talked about your team to watch

:20:05. > :20:16.this season, how did you rate the performance of Leo Williamson? --

:20:17. > :20:23.Leah. She put in excellent block tackles. This is how the coach wants

:20:24. > :20:26.Arsenal to play, he wants them to be composed from the back and forth

:20:27. > :20:30.attacks to start right from the goalkeeper and the sender has. She

:20:31. > :20:46.has really good quality, but that is what happened, sometimes when they

:20:47. > :20:52.play in the centre-halves. Let me highlight Janssen, she dropped in to

:20:53. > :20:56.protect Williamson on that lead to Reading getting a consolation goal.

:20:57. > :21:01.You can see that she was very frustrated and it remains to be seen

:21:02. > :21:16.whether she will retain that position. We talked about Jodie

:21:17. > :21:20.Taylor. A top England striker. Phenomenal. This shot here

:21:21. > :21:27.definitely takes it. It is beyond my reach. Jodie Taylor can score from

:21:28. > :21:34.anywhere outside the box. Her coach knows her very well from the time

:21:35. > :21:39.she spent in the USA. Fantastic signing for Arsenal and for the

:21:40. > :21:43.league. Two more games to catch up on starting with last season's

:21:44. > :21:47.runners-up, Manchester City who added significant firepower to their

:21:48. > :22:02.squad and aim to go one better this time around. It was the night of few

:22:03. > :22:05.clear-cut chances. A slow start hampered Manchester City last season

:22:06. > :22:13.and it looked like the same thing this time around. Despite 12 goals

:22:14. > :22:19.last season, they couldn't get into account here. Well wide. Manchester

:22:20. > :22:21.City began to grow into the game after that and were given the

:22:22. > :22:27.perfect chance to go in front with this one. Referee Johnson once again

:22:28. > :22:34.pointed to the spot to even up the penalty count. The England

:22:35. > :22:38.international couldn't find a way around the goalkeeper. But she had

:22:39. > :22:50.no answer to this one in injury time. 1-0 was the final score. I

:22:51. > :22:54.think the most important thing is that we got the three points and now

:22:55. > :23:00.we will build on this and recover and focus on Arsenal. Having been

:23:01. > :23:08.knocked out of the FA Cup this weekend, Liverpool kicked off their

:23:09. > :23:12.new campaign against Birmingham. The referee had no hesitation in

:23:13. > :23:22.awarding this penalty. But Siobhan Chamberlain came to the rescue. The

:23:23. > :23:35.2013 - 2014 champions punished the Blues. This one was bungled home

:23:36. > :23:42.despite a desperate lunge. The Blues weren't going to give up though. The

:23:43. > :23:45.Dutch defender was deemed to have missed the ball by the referee and a

:23:46. > :23:54.second penalty of the night was awarded with a straight red card.

:23:55. > :24:02.Incredibly the free kick was wide of the target. Not a single one was

:24:03. > :24:12.scored. Birmingham closed the game strongly. But Chamberlain was in no

:24:13. > :24:18.mood to be charitable as Liverpool claimed all three points. There were

:24:19. > :24:23.some decisions where... The politest way of putting it is that they were

:24:24. > :24:27.controversial. I think we were under a lot of pressure because of that.

:24:28. > :24:36.The girls were superb. Can't fault them. A winning start for Liverpool.

:24:37. > :24:40.Extremely early days, of course, but you know you like to see a table

:24:41. > :24:43.even at this stage. Chelsea are sitting at the top after all of one

:24:44. > :24:47.game but because of the odd numbers in the league this season, due to

:24:48. > :24:51.the expansion, one team will always have to sit out of certain fixtures.

:24:52. > :24:57.This time it was Sunderland, they won't play until Saturday when they

:24:58. > :25:04.are at home to Reading. Birmingham's last season was a

:25:05. > :25:07.struggle to score goals. You get to penalties and don't score either

:25:08. > :25:15.them, starting in a similar fashion. Same old problem. We were hoping for

:25:16. > :25:20.goals from players brought in from Arsenal but it didn't happen. Is it

:25:21. > :25:23.potentially a recipe for relegation? I am not sure but they need to start

:25:24. > :25:28.putting the ball in the back of the net if they want to give themselves

:25:29. > :25:36.a chance. They lost key players. Karen Carney has gone to Chelsea.

:25:37. > :25:41.Becky Spencer has also. And Weston has also gone. They're talking about

:25:42. > :25:45.having to bring players through. Can you do that and survive? That is on

:25:46. > :25:49.the back of also losing key players last season. They have hemorrhaged

:25:50. > :26:03.layers and are now relying on the use players coming through -- young

:26:04. > :26:08.players. Manchester City also added to their squad, they have already

:26:09. > :26:16.got talent in the front with the likes of Paris. They are relying on

:26:17. > :26:26.the sender have to score a goal at the last minute. They will always

:26:27. > :26:32.love to have the glory. Manchester City, I don't think I got the depth

:26:33. > :26:37.at the moment. They have only got 13 seeded players who are fully fit.

:26:38. > :26:40.That will be a worry for their title contentions but it is early days

:26:41. > :26:46.yet. Some injuries they could probably have done without at this

:26:47. > :26:49.stage. Two of last season's strugglers produced some of the most

:26:50. > :26:57.entertaining games of the week. Watford trailed London with just two

:26:58. > :27:04.minutes remaining. Goals from Charlotte Kerr and Molly Burgess,

:27:05. > :27:18.securing the equaliser. That came in the 93rd minute. So the WSL 2 table

:27:19. > :27:34.looks like this. Millwall makes a winning start. What do you reckon?

:27:35. > :27:39.Who is likely to be going up? One team will be relegated, but my two

:27:40. > :27:44.teens who I think we'll be going up this season are Bristol city, who

:27:45. > :27:56.were relegated last season and perhaps Watford -- City. Why?

:27:57. > :28:01.Actually Everton. They have managed to hold onto some key players with

:28:02. > :28:07.really bright futures. I think they have got goals in them as well. They

:28:08. > :28:09.have added to their squad and brought in the goalkeeper from

:28:10. > :28:18.Manchester City and I think that is a good move for her and for ever ten

:28:19. > :28:23.as well. -- Everton. That is pretty much all we have time for tonight

:28:24. > :28:27.that we will be back on Tuesday with more highlights, including an

:28:28. > :28:36.early-season battle between two title contenders as Manchester City

:28:37. > :28:39.host Arsenal. Thank you, it has been an absolute pleasure is always. The

:28:40. > :28:45.champions Chelsea flew out of the stall to claim an opening win at

:28:46. > :29:01.Doncaster. Goodbye.
