:00:43. > :00:49.Hello, and welcome to The Women's Football Show. We are at the Academy
:00:50. > :00:53.Stadium this week, the home of the WSL one champions, the Continental
:00:54. > :00:57.cup holders and the FA Cup winners. Next on Manchester City's radar is
:00:58. > :01:02.the Spring Series! Coming up... Could nick Cushing's
:01:03. > :01:05.side maintained their unbeaten start of the season against bottom of the
:01:06. > :01:10.table Yeovil? Arsenal could keep title hopes alive
:01:11. > :01:17.with that game against Birmingham. And after a nightmare at Nottingham,
:01:18. > :01:21.we talk about that renaissance at Reading.
:01:22. > :01:26.I will be joined by Rachel Brown Venice throughout the show. Welcome.
:01:27. > :01:30.An impressive haul of silverware, their eyes on a fourth successive
:01:31. > :01:33.title in the Spring Series, can they be stopped?
:01:34. > :01:37.I don't know, maybe the destruction of the FA Cup and the Champions
:01:38. > :01:41.League for Manchester City, they haven't dominated the Spring Series
:01:42. > :01:45.and we've got the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool are top of the
:01:46. > :01:49.table. They are very much in contention for the title alongside
:01:50. > :01:54.them. It is Yeovil Town who are tasked with putting a dent in
:01:55. > :02:01.Manchester City's title ambitions, will it be business as usual for the
:02:02. > :02:14.home side? Mission accomplished! There is a new name! And it is that,
:02:15. > :02:22.Manchester City Women! Doubles for Manchester City! Two major trophies
:02:23. > :02:25.in seven days for the team. Manchester City, having victory in
:02:26. > :02:35.the league and the Continental cup and the FA Cup now in 2017... After
:02:36. > :02:39.Wembley success, Manchester City now turn their attention to winning the
:02:40. > :02:45.WSL one Spring Series. By contrast it has been a baptism of
:02:46. > :02:49.fire for Yeovil, promoted to top tier in the last series but yet you
:02:50. > :02:54.pick up a point so far in their five games. Some changes to the side that
:02:55. > :02:58.lifted the trophy at Wembley, only five players keep their places. Dog
:02:59. > :03:05.owners recalled after scoring a hat-trick in the last Spring Series
:03:06. > :03:09.game against Bristol City -- Duggan. Yeovil were unfortunate not come
:03:10. > :03:13.away with something from a game midweek against Bristol, two changes
:03:14. > :03:20.to their 1-0 defeat there. Natalie Hay coming into defence. And are
:03:21. > :03:24.starting against her old club. Manchester City now holding all
:03:25. > :03:28.three domestic trophies... Now, just looking to further add to their
:03:29. > :03:42.trophy cabinet. Jill Scott going down. We know that the captain likes
:03:43. > :03:54.to take these... No, it's an own goal! Deauville caught out. --
:03:55. > :03:57.Yeovil were caught out, Heatherson had to get something on that and
:03:58. > :04:09.unfortunately, it was not that connection that she wanted. 1-0 to
:04:10. > :04:14.Manchester City. Duggan looking for Jill Scott... It has gone in! A
:04:15. > :04:23.terrific finish. Manchester City doubling the lead. Jill Scott scored
:04:24. > :04:27.in the FA Cup final last time out. She manages to guide this past Walsh
:04:28. > :04:36.who came out of the goal. A really good finish by the England
:04:37. > :04:41.international. It's a poor pass from BT. Quinn has a real chance... Lucy
:04:42. > :04:52.Quinn! A brilliant finish. -- Beattie. Manchester City... Masters
:04:53. > :04:59.of their own downfall. A dreadful ball by Beattie, but well read by
:05:00. > :05:11.Lucy Quinn. And a composed finish. Getting Yeovil back into the game,
:05:12. > :05:16.2-1. Horton to Jill Scott, a lovely ball to Stanway who manages to keep
:05:17. > :05:23.it in... Jane Ross! With her first goal of the season. Yeovil had done
:05:24. > :05:26.so well in the last few minutes to keep Manchester City at bay. A
:05:27. > :05:32.really good move. A defence splitting pass from Scott. Stanway
:05:33. > :05:42.manages to keep it in, and Ross with the finish. The two goal cushion is
:05:43. > :05:52.restored. It's a good pass by Walsh, managing to find is Asllani, who
:05:53. > :06:02.manages to keep the ball. Asllani... So close. It's a chance for Asllani.
:06:03. > :06:07.I'm sure -- not sure if she was going for the goal or not, either
:06:08. > :06:12.way, she was nearly caught by the back of the night. Taking aim... So
:06:13. > :06:27.close to getting a touch from either Ross or Asllani there. Stanway with
:06:28. > :06:31.the delivery... A good one. Houghton... Off the post and in.
:06:32. > :06:41.Jane Ross with her second of the afternoon. Leading by 4-1. She just
:06:42. > :06:49.found herself and marked, Houghton, at the back post. Ross reacted
:06:50. > :06:58.quickest to put the ball past Walsh. Bronze comes away with it... And
:06:59. > :07:02.it's a decent looking ball. It is going to be put in I Asllani! --
:07:03. > :07:13.buyers by Asllani. Yeovil could not deal
:07:14. > :07:22.with it. A wonderful ball from Bronze in the end. Back into the six
:07:23. > :07:25.yard area, courtesy of Haigh. Asllani gained from that mix-up
:07:26. > :07:33.between the goalkeeper and the defence. Her first of the Spring
:07:34. > :07:37.Series. A chance to get some players forward for Yeovil. A decent
:07:38. > :07:46.delivery from Bleazard. The goalkeeper does not get there. The
:07:47. > :07:56.referee has awarded a penalty kick. Eyes whelmed the ball... And she
:07:57. > :08:04.clattered into Short. Will Ellie Roebuck make amends? And she does,
:08:05. > :08:11.with an easy save. Uncharacteristically... She does not
:08:12. > :08:21.beat the goalkeeper. Here it comes... Campbell. It's a good one
:08:22. > :08:31.again. The referee has decided to send off Carli Lloyd. She was being
:08:32. > :08:42.held... And she swung her arm in frustration at
:08:43. > :08:48.Heatherson, a good spot by the referee.
:08:49. > :08:52.Manchester City's unbeaten run continues in the Spring Series. I'm
:08:53. > :08:57.delighted to be joined by manager Nick Cushing. The talking point at
:08:58. > :09:02.the end of the game, Carli Lloyd's red card. Will you appeal that? I
:09:03. > :09:05.did not see it back and I did not even see it when it happened with
:09:06. > :09:10.the throw in, especially with Megan's. We put bodies in the box.
:09:11. > :09:15.The goal area is pretty crowded. I haven't watched it back. We think it
:09:16. > :09:19.is a red card and respect the decision of the referee. It is not
:09:20. > :09:26.something that, knowing Carli, she would have done on purpose. It was a
:09:27. > :09:30.great result on the pitch. You made a few changes, rotating things
:09:31. > :09:34.around. A massive week this week for Manchester City in terms of the
:09:35. > :09:36.title and where the Spring Series may go, how pleased were you with
:09:37. > :09:41.the players that came in today? I said to the players that I wanted a
:09:42. > :09:45.team who are fresh. But they also need to be fresh for the tournament.
:09:46. > :09:50.The summer tournament, the Euros. Those who came in played really
:09:51. > :09:53.well. Another game around the corner. Big weeks have been a common
:09:54. > :09:57.theme this year. We've had Champions Cup finals,
:09:58. > :09:59.semifinals, the big games in the Spring Series, we will prepare as we
:10:00. > :10:05.have been. A word on Yeovil, it would have been
:10:06. > :10:09.tough them coming home to the WSL champions. Does it show that there
:10:10. > :10:13.is a gulf? For them, the Spring Series is a chance to show how much
:10:14. > :10:17.work they need ahead of next season? I think that they will realise that
:10:18. > :10:21.there is a big golf, you play the top team in the country pretty much
:10:22. > :10:25.but unfortunately, Yeovil are bottom of the table. They need to work on a
:10:26. > :10:29.couple of things and in this series they've had the chance to account of
:10:30. > :10:33.things ahead of the winter series, they need to work on their fitness
:10:34. > :10:35.and be fit across the board. Recruit and bring in depth and
:10:36. > :10:40.experience across the division. There are a lot of things they can
:10:41. > :10:43.implement head of starting in August and September.
:10:44. > :10:48.Next, thank you for joining us. Arsenal kept their unbeaten run
:10:49. > :10:51.going midweek with a last-gasp draw against Chelsea, now they faced
:10:52. > :10:56.Birmingham City who put their FA Cup boys behind them with a win against
:10:57. > :11:02.Bristol City. Could they get a second win of the season against
:11:03. > :11:06.Arsenal? COMMENTATOR: Two months ago, Birmingham City stunned the
:11:07. > :11:08.holders Arsenal in the women's FA Cup quarterfinals. Today, the
:11:09. > :11:17.Gunners are looking for revenge as they host the Blues in the WSL
:11:18. > :11:21.Spring Series. Beth Meade makes her first start for Arsenal since
:11:22. > :11:26.signing from Sunderland in one of three changes for the side that
:11:27. > :11:30.snapped a dramatic draw at Chelsea on Wednesday. Rachel Williams makes
:11:31. > :11:33.her first start since re-signing for Birmingham this week after Notts
:11:34. > :11:38.County folded. One of four changes from the side that beat Bristol
:11:39. > :11:53.City. Brazil, Sergeant and Williams coming in.
:11:54. > :12:05.Sargeant... A nice turn from Brazil. Mayling end... What a turn for
:12:06. > :12:13.Birmingham! Williams with her return to the club, her first start since
:12:14. > :12:19.re-signing, putting Birmingham City ahead inside of 60 seconds. It's
:12:20. > :12:26.absolutely remarkable! Again, a loose ball from Arsenal. Williams is
:12:27. > :12:30.in... Touched over by Moorhouse. A good save. But again, there is so
:12:31. > :12:42.much space for Birmingham. Arsenal with sloppy play. Williams with the
:12:43. > :12:48.corner for Birmingham... Back across, Brazil could not apply that
:12:49. > :12:55.final touch. Still alive... Data Mayling's ball going off the bar...
:12:56. > :12:59.No. So close for Birmingham. Mayling with the ball, and westward crashing
:13:00. > :13:12.it on the underside of the crossbar. Did it cross the line? It is so
:13:13. > :13:25.close. -- Westwood. Headed away... Collected... Carter wins the free
:13:26. > :13:34.kick. Dan Carter going down, and the challenge of Brazil. Williams to
:13:35. > :13:41.fire at in off the bar... Back in by van de Donk. Carter misses.
:13:42. > :13:46.Birmingham get it away. Birmingham striking the woodwork at one end,
:13:47. > :13:54.Williams was so close at the other. Mead doing well... The ball goes
:13:55. > :14:01.through to Heather O'Reilly for Arsenal... It's a lovely finish.
:14:02. > :14:09.Arsenal 1-1 Birmingham. It is a quality composed goal. From
:14:10. > :14:13.American, Heather O'Riley. A lovely ball from Danielle van de Donk.
:14:14. > :14:22.O'Reilly checked her composure to level. Carter... Away from Jess
:14:23. > :14:31.Carter. Playing it through, looking for van de Donk... In for Arsenal...
:14:32. > :14:35.Weaving Arsenal the lead. -- giving Arsenal the lead. A good goal from
:14:36. > :14:45.van de Donk, a brilliant ball from the England striker Dan Carter.
:14:46. > :14:51.Working around Baggaley and finishing to put Arsenal 2-1 up
:14:52. > :15:00.against Arsenal. Well intercepted by Williams... Bringing it forward...
:15:01. > :15:08.Hegerberg. Brazil... Getting away from Williams. Space for the cross.
:15:09. > :15:16.Anticipated by Moorhouse but she did not get there in time. It is bundled
:15:17. > :15:19.home. A good ball in from page Williams, and Rachel Williams with a
:15:20. > :15:29.brave header. Her second of the game.
:15:30. > :15:35.Patten past Carter. Going down, Arsenal with the free kick. Carter
:15:36. > :15:42.is aghast, she feels like she got the ball. And it looks like she did.
:15:43. > :15:47.Swinging in the free kick, Nobbs. Quinn gets in there. Arsenal
:15:48. > :15:52.retaking the lead. Louise Quinn gets her first goal for the club. Off the
:15:53. > :16:11.bench as a substitute, heading Arsenal back in front. They now lead
:16:12. > :16:14.Birmingham City by 3-2. Nobbs... Picked up by van de Donk. Going for
:16:15. > :16:34.an Arsenal corner. Nobbs to take... Looking for Quinn
:16:35. > :16:39.again. He gets there. -- she gets there. Two goals for Louise Quinn,
:16:40. > :16:46.sealing the win for Arsenal. 4-2 against Birmingham City.
:16:47. > :16:51.I was delighted, it's probably the first time in my career that I have
:16:52. > :16:55.scored two headers in a short amount of time. The girls did a lot of
:16:56. > :17:00.groundwork. Jordan and I were playing great balls. I was happy.
:17:01. > :17:06.Looking at those conceded goals, any football person can see they are not
:17:07. > :17:10.good enough, they need to be tightened up. It comes from team
:17:11. > :17:14.ether scoring forward. There's a lot for us to do, we need to change the
:17:15. > :17:19.whole ethos of the club. It will happen. But there are a lot of
:17:20. > :17:22.positive things to come out as well. Rachel, we were at Sunderland for
:17:23. > :17:26.the first game for Arsenal at the Spring Series, some teething
:17:27. > :17:27.problems but they'd bring this season?
:17:28. > :17:32.Yes, they had a lot of possession and play down the wings. They were
:17:33. > :17:37.not clinical in the final third but they picked up speed. The likes of
:17:38. > :17:42.Danielle van de Donk, Taylor did not play much last season and scoring
:17:43. > :17:45.this season. You can see they are moving in the right direction,
:17:46. > :17:50.Arsenal are getting goals and goals and goals. Exciting to see.
:17:51. > :17:55.Birmingham have plenty of positives, not least Williams's performance.
:17:56. > :17:59.Great to see her scoring goals with such energy? Yes, nice to see her at
:18:00. > :18:04.her old club. It is great to see her back at Birmingham and I'm sure for
:18:05. > :18:07.both parties, she is a real powerhouse upfront. Birmingham City
:18:08. > :18:11.fans will be really excited to see what she's got for the rest of the
:18:12. > :18:16.year. A transition period with a change of manager at Birmingham.
:18:17. > :18:19.David Parker had been there a long time, how do you assess what
:18:20. > :18:23.direction they are moving and of Mike Skinner? A lot of changes on
:18:24. > :18:29.and off the pitch. Skinner is a young manager, his first job in the
:18:30. > :18:33.WSL, he is the nominal and the girls are responding on the pitch. They
:18:34. > :18:38.are energised, I've heard his training methods are unique but it
:18:39. > :18:42.really is players. I think that he has done a phenomenal job and it's a
:18:43. > :18:50.wonderful experience, having the FA Cup final and his belt already.
:18:51. > :18:59.Indeed, two more games, is Liverpool faced Bristol City on Saturday
:19:00. > :19:03.evening. Liverpool travel to Stoke Gifford looking to build on their 18
:19:04. > :19:07.goals in their last five matches but the visitors were held by the Vixens
:19:08. > :19:11.in the second half. Longhurst frustrated in front of the dugout.
:19:12. > :19:20.Working with a yellow card from the referee. However, at 81 minutes,
:19:21. > :19:28.Harding with a good combination towards the right. Neatly flicked in
:19:29. > :19:31.by the substitute, finishing well. It was not plain sailing for
:19:32. > :19:38.Liverpool. The side fought back instantly... Siobhan Chamberlain was
:19:39. > :19:43.forced to palm the ball to Arthur, and Sophie Ingle was blocking the
:19:44. > :19:46.shot. Liverpool's defence was eventually breached in the 85th
:19:47. > :19:55.minute, a quickly taken corner causing confusion in the penalty
:19:56. > :20:00.area. Agg rescuing a much-needed point. There was still time for
:20:01. > :20:03.Longhurst to pick up a second yellow, seeing red after bundling
:20:04. > :20:07.Agg to the ground with a minute on the clock. Rolling her out of
:20:08. > :20:11.Sunday's crucial trip to Chelsea, an error that could cause properly --
:20:12. > :20:18.that could be costly to Liverpool in the long run. Chelsea were aiming to
:20:19. > :20:28.capitalise on Liverpool's drop point with a win at Sunderland. It came in
:20:29. > :20:31.style. This run split open by Maren Mjelde. This long ball was not dealt
:20:32. > :20:35.with by the Sunderland defence. Karen Carney did not need asking
:20:36. > :20:47.twice. A second goal for her in the Spring Series. It got worse for the
:20:48. > :20:50.Wearsiders, three minutes later... Norwegian Captain Maren Mjelde was
:20:51. > :20:57.set up for a slick move, making it three. By now, any haze's Chelsea
:20:58. > :21:07.were rampant and Sunderland's recent good form was evaporating fast. The
:21:08. > :21:12.scorer of the fourth worst Ramona Bachmann. Ripping the home side
:21:13. > :21:17.apart again, Maren Mjelde. A devastating first 45 completed for
:21:18. > :21:20.the hosts. The last thing Sunderland needed to see was Fran Kirby's
:21:21. > :21:26.long-awaited return from injury. Her last goal came against the Black
:21:27. > :21:30.Cats in June 2016, and it took her only 23 minutes for her to repeat
:21:31. > :21:35.that feat. The injury lay-off clearly did not plunder her
:21:36. > :21:40.sharpness in front of the goal as her second wrapped up an impressive
:21:41. > :21:46.7-0 victory, closing the gap on Liverpool to four points with two
:21:47. > :21:49.games in hand. They meet next week. Despite dropping two points,
:21:50. > :21:55.Liverpool are still leading the way. Chelsea's thumping win moving them
:21:56. > :21:58.up to second. Yet the last a lot the bottom,
:21:59. > :22:02.looking for their first points of the series.
:22:03. > :22:06.-- Yeovil. Another incredibly impressive attacking display from
:22:07. > :22:11.Chelsea, the new signings on the scoresheet and welcoming back Fran
:22:12. > :22:15.Kirby? Yes, it is like a new signing! In that off-season may have
:22:16. > :22:21.had some fantastic signings. With Kaufman it, Ramona Bachmann, these
:22:22. > :22:25.names keep growing. They are free-flowing and a force to be
:22:26. > :22:28.reckoned with. Going under the radar a little bit.
:22:29. > :22:33.Manchester City are at the forefront in the Champions League with the FA
:22:34. > :22:39.Cup final but Chelsea must be contenders for this, with the moving
:22:40. > :22:42.into the next season? 100%. They are hitting form, everyone has gelled
:22:43. > :22:46.together. They are certainly contenders and it is going to be a
:22:47. > :22:48.really interesting run in these last four games.
:22:49. > :22:53.Certainly. Nine teams competing in the Spring Series after the
:22:54. > :22:58.liquidation of Notts County on the eve of the start of the campaign.
:22:59. > :22:59.Earlier this week the FA made an announcement regarding the
:23:00. > :23:06.replacements ahead of the new season.
:23:07. > :23:10.From September, WSL One will continue with ten teams, ensuring
:23:11. > :23:15.there are even numbers in both divisions. The PSL Two was due to
:23:16. > :23:19.have 11 teams next season but will stay at ten, with the women of the
:23:20. > :23:23.women's Premier League final receiving promotion to the division.
:23:24. > :23:29.They, along with existing second-tier clubs are able to apply
:23:30. > :23:32.for the remaining place in WSL One. As clubs had not been aware at the
:23:33. > :23:39.start of the season a place would be available and the importance of
:23:40. > :23:41.clubs able to compete in the top division, it was decided the phone
:23:42. > :23:47.application process should be taken. Therefore, despite Everton clinching
:23:48. > :23:52.the WSL Two Spring Series title at London Bees yesterday, the Toffees
:23:53. > :23:58.will not get automatic promotion. With WSL Two completed, they need to
:23:59. > :24:01.submit applications by Tuesday the 30th of May, with clubs having to
:24:02. > :24:04.demonstrate how they will need additional license criteria.
:24:05. > :24:09.Quite a lot to get your head around with that statement.
:24:10. > :24:15.Is this the right way of going about it? Throughout locations? I think
:24:16. > :24:18.so, at the beginning of the two series, nobody knew that winning the
:24:19. > :24:24.Spring Series would mean they got promotion. It's out the question, to
:24:25. > :24:28.have that. The FA have set in a business structure and a criteria
:24:29. > :24:32.that every team has to meet, the team has to submit an application to
:24:33. > :24:35.become a WSL One team, the FA can look at those applications and see
:24:36. > :24:40.who is the best candidate to get into WSL One to give them a chance
:24:41. > :24:44.of staying there. Only 5% of the criteria is on the field, is that
:24:45. > :24:49.surprising or expected, given what happened with Notts County? I think
:24:50. > :24:52.it is expected. First and foremost any team going into WSL One needs to
:24:53. > :24:56.be stable from a business perspective.
:24:57. > :25:00.Of course we want that team going up to be exciting and full of flair,
:25:01. > :25:05.and to be really fit, and be a good product on the pitch. But I do think
:25:06. > :25:09.that you can imagine that is the whole reason the WSL was set up six
:25:10. > :25:14.years ago, to ensure stability of clubs. I think that will be first
:25:15. > :25:17.and foremost. Your former team won the Spring Series for WSL Two
:25:18. > :25:21.yesterday. You must build they got a good chance in the application
:25:22. > :25:25.process, and a quick word on their celebrations yesterday?
:25:26. > :25:33.They walk T-shirts with sowing time in's name on it, it would have been
:25:34. > :25:38.her 19th birthday? Yes, she came through the ranks at
:25:39. > :25:43.Everton, everybody knew Zoe and was affected by her passing last year.
:25:44. > :25:47.But on the football side of things, with Everton, they wonder Spring
:25:48. > :25:52.Series, and clearly they are one of the best candidates from a football
:25:53. > :26:00.player perspective. Everton were in the top division for so many years.
:26:01. > :26:06.Quality wise and structure rise, they are a great candidate for WSL
:26:07. > :26:08.One but it is a fair process -- structure wise.
:26:09. > :26:13.We expect that decision to be made in early June. Joan muir and Porter
:26:14. > :26:17.would have been lining up for Notts County this weekend but now they are
:26:18. > :26:21.Reading players with a free weekend after the demise of their former
:26:22. > :26:23.club. What better way to spend it than to meet Joe Curry and talk
:26:24. > :26:29.about that roller-coaster that has been the last month or so?
:26:30. > :26:33.We cannot end it now, we started the FA Cup. We've got Arsenal on Sunday,
:26:34. > :26:37.the prep is done. The worst cases they will tell as after the Spring
:26:38. > :26:43.Series that's it, we've got two months to sort our lights out.
:26:44. > :26:47.Little did we know... -- lives out. You only want to play football.
:26:48. > :26:52.Everything goes through your head. How long can we not play for? When
:26:53. > :26:58.you don't really have any answers coming back, it is difficult to
:26:59. > :27:08.relax. And go, it is going to be OK. You don't actually know. As players,
:27:09. > :27:11.when did you get an inkling that something was not right...? Three
:27:12. > :27:16.days before the league started. We were meant to play Arsenal on the
:27:17. > :27:19.Sunday and we got a text on eight at ten o'clock on a Thursday night,
:27:20. > :27:25.saying "Training is cancelled tomorrow, there's a meeting at 11
:27:26. > :27:34.o'clock and everyone must attend". Who broke the news? The men's CEO, a
:27:35. > :27:39.man called Jason. He took me into a room and said being a club captain
:27:40. > :27:47.and PFA delegate, he said it was right to tell us first and break the
:27:48. > :27:51.news. I looked at Jade and bass, Jade looks very angry. He knew that
:27:52. > :27:55.there was something not right. As soon is Jason started talking, his
:27:56. > :28:00.hands were shaking and voice was trembling. He said, I don't know how
:28:01. > :28:08.to say this, but as of 11 o'clock today, the club, the ladies side, is
:28:09. > :28:15.being liquidated. It's people's livelihoods. It is our jobs and
:28:16. > :28:18.houses. It ruins everyone states of lies at that time, all in a
:28:19. > :28:22.completely different way. Some of the girls are still dealing with
:28:23. > :28:27.that emotion now. They had no answers some ago OK, we can't play
:28:28. > :28:31.for Notts County ladies, can we play for someone else? I don't know. That
:28:32. > :28:35.was the answer I got. I said it was not good enough. You've just come in
:28:36. > :28:41.and dropped a bomb with no real answers. You are both in Mark
:28:42. > :28:45.Sampson's England squad for the Euros, and as England players, did
:28:46. > :28:52.you pick up the phone to him and say, what do we do? That was one of
:28:53. > :28:56.the first thing's that we did. He said, don't worry about it. He has
:28:57. > :28:58.all of the faith in the world with us and we'll sort it out, we will do
:28:59. > :29:14.our best in this situation. How and when did you find out that
:29:15. > :29:17.you would be allowed to move to other clubs? It was only the
:29:18. > :29:22.deregistration holding us back from actually signing for someone else,
:29:23. > :29:26.and moving on. We were told that we needed to print off these forms,
:29:27. > :29:32.sign it, and get it sent back as soon as possible and once it was
:29:33. > :29:36.done, we were free agents. We went to the library to print up our paper
:29:37. > :29:40.as we didn't have a printer in the house. Signed it, scanned it, sent
:29:41. > :29:44.it in. Got a confirmation e-mail and we were free agents.
:29:45. > :29:50.We sat there and went, what do we do now? Come on, need more from you!
:29:51. > :29:56.Talk to me about how this move to Reading came about for both of you?
:29:57. > :30:02.Before I signed for Notts County, I spoke to Reading, and I was very
:30:03. > :30:06.impressed. As soon as we got the news, I said it was only right that
:30:07. > :30:13.I came and spoke to Kelly again. I was so impressed last time. If they
:30:14. > :30:18.wanted to still offer a contract I would be very interested. My
:30:19. > :30:23.decision was more based on the training environment. Work it
:30:24. > :30:27.sharper, come on! When we came in they said, I cannot guarantee play
:30:28. > :30:30.minutes but can guarantee a competitive environment. That was a
:30:31. > :30:37.plus for us. The girls are feisty and hungry for success. Step into
:30:38. > :30:42.it! Don't step too early! The England men's team used to train
:30:43. > :30:46.here and it is incredible. There are other sports training here to? Yes,
:30:47. > :30:50.you can walk past the hockey and rugby girls, they are training at
:30:51. > :30:55.there and it is great for the place. It feels good, and I think that was
:30:56. > :31:00.one of the first thing is that, when I came down, I thought I could see
:31:01. > :31:04.myself here. Speaking to Kelly, she is very much down-to-earth. She is
:31:05. > :31:10.very much a people person and you can sit and talk to her. It's a real
:31:11. > :31:13.pull for me. In terms of club football, moving forward, what are
:31:14. > :31:19.your ambitions? What do you want to achieve? I still want to be
:31:20. > :31:23.competitive. It was a big reason for moving to Reading. We saw the
:31:24. > :31:26.potential that they had. We went to the Wembley game the other day and
:31:27. > :31:30.watched Birmingham and Manchester City, and you think, this is what I
:31:31. > :31:35.want be doing it again. Playing on the biggest stage is something that
:31:36. > :31:40.everyone wants. And something we can definitely achieve here. What a
:31:41. > :31:44.goal! Jade Moore with an absolute screamer! We needed competitive
:31:45. > :31:48.training and match minutes, which is exactly what we've got here.
:31:49. > :31:54.Hopefully that will springboard us into the Euros.
:31:55. > :31:57.They mentioned in that the TV facilities that Reading have an
:31:58. > :32:01.potential Basie there. Are they the kinds of players that Reading should
:32:02. > :32:06.be trying to attract to push them on? It's exactly what Reading
:32:07. > :32:09.needed. They have fantastic facilities and I think Kelly
:32:10. > :32:14.Chambers has done a remarkable job in how she organises the team. They
:32:15. > :32:19.needed a bit of experience. Bringing in two England international is kind
:32:20. > :32:22.of fits perfectly. As Joe and Jade said there, it is reciprocal,
:32:23. > :32:31.working for both parties. It has been an incredible job that Kelly
:32:32. > :32:34.has been involved in there. Is this almost the hardest part?
:32:35. > :32:39.Going a last bit and try to break into a top four all top five at the
:32:40. > :32:45.moment? I think you are right. She's done a great job to establish
:32:46. > :32:48.Reading. They have a style of football, and identity. I think it
:32:49. > :32:53.is really important for a team coming up. She has pushed on but,
:32:54. > :32:58.for them to go full-time would be the next step. Across the board. But
:32:59. > :33:03.I think they've got the facilities. They seem to have the direction a
:33:04. > :33:10.club aspiring to mix it with the top three or four, and it ticked all the
:33:11. > :33:15.boxes. They did. That's about it from us.
:33:16. > :33:18.We are back next Sunday but before then, some BBC dates for your
:33:19. > :33:23.diary... We retread this year's road to
:33:24. > :33:26.Wembley ahead of the men's cup final...
:33:27. > :33:29.There is live commentary from Stockholm as Manchester United and
:33:30. > :33:36.Ajax contest the Europa League final... And on Thursday, Manchester
:33:37. > :33:39.City and Chelsea go head-to-head as the race to become the WSL Spring
:33:40. > :33:47.Series champions continues. That should be an absolutely
:33:48. > :33:50.cracking match. Rachel, thank you for joining me today and from both
:33:51. > :34:04.of us, goodbye. FUNKY MUSIC
:34:05. > :34:08.Step in the arena, Arsenal, Chelsea.
:34:09. > :34:11.We've scrapped, scored, hurt, humbled.
:34:12. > :34:16.Never back down. Never look back.
