:00:44. > :00:49.Today, four men face off in two matches, each with different views

:00:50. > :00:56.of the past, but the same vision of the future. For the Canadian Milos

:00:57. > :01:00.Raonic there is limited experience to call on. Beaten out of sight by

:01:01. > :01:07.Federer in the semifinals here, he's never reached a Grand Slam final but

:01:08. > :01:11.his ambition is clear. Check Tomas Berdych has been here before, six

:01:12. > :01:18.years ago he beat Novak Djokovic to reach the final, only to find Rafa

:01:19. > :01:22.Nadal Toogood. -- Czech. Andy Murray has a very clear idea of what this

:01:23. > :01:27.is all about. Wimbledon champion in 2013 and committed to his call. The

:01:28. > :01:33.man who has the most familiar feel is Roger Federer. Ten times he has

:01:34. > :01:38.reached this stage from he's never lost a Wimbledon semifinal. Seven

:01:39. > :01:43.times he has lifted the trophy, eight could be the all-time record.

:01:44. > :01:45.They have the same dream, the same vision, but now it's time for

:01:46. > :01:54.reality to take over. Hello and good evening, welcome to

:01:55. > :01:58.today at Wimbledon. Earlier we had an overcast, dull day for men's

:01:59. > :02:01.semifinals. But they promised to brighten the day and indeed they

:02:02. > :02:04.did, the sun came out at about 5:30pm and its most gorgeous

:02:05. > :02:11.evening. Later we see how Andy Murray fared in his heaven semifinal

:02:12. > :02:18.against Tomas Berdych, runner-up in 2010. And joined by MM tweet man who

:02:19. > :02:23.had six Wimbledon finals between them. John McEnroe and Boris Becker.

:02:24. > :02:28.You are being teased about number of finals reached. He got me there.

:02:29. > :02:35.There is something we should brag about, we should only talk about the

:02:36. > :02:39.ones that we won. The only reason we have read here is that your man went

:02:40. > :02:46.nearly a week ago, Novak Djokovic went home. I should be in the locker

:02:47. > :02:49.room trying to find strategies about the final making sure the recovery

:02:50. > :02:53.is good, but things happened and obviously he lost to Sam Querrey, he

:02:54. > :02:57.was the better player on those two days. Novak had a chance to come

:02:58. > :03:03.back on the Saturday after a poor first two sets, played a good third

:03:04. > :03:09.set, fought his way through, then the fourth set 5-4, lost his way and

:03:10. > :03:12.at the tie-break didn't do it. He's OK? We wondered if there might be

:03:13. > :03:16.something wrong physically or mentally. He is superhuman

:03:17. > :03:23.sometimes. He's also human once in a while. He's just a man out of flesh

:03:24. > :03:28.and blood, is not always 110%. He's fine, resting in Monte Carlo, with

:03:29. > :03:31.his family, he's fine. John has joined the rags of the super

:03:32. > :03:35.coaches, having seen your success, he's in the camp of Milos Raonic who

:03:36. > :03:38.was against Roger Federer, who came into Wimbledon unsure of form and

:03:39. > :03:42.fitness. He's never been more uncertain than when he came in this

:03:43. > :03:48.year, he had his meniscus tear, forced to miss the French Open. He

:03:49. > :03:52.missed four consecutive majors to get ready for this one because he

:03:53. > :03:56.knows his best shot is at Wimbledon. Here he was at an 11 semifinal at

:03:57. > :03:57.Wimbledon which equals the record set by Jimmy Connors. Paddy Geary

:03:58. > :04:06.can set this one up. On Centre Court, the meeting of a

:04:07. > :04:09.master craftsman and heavy industry. Milos Raonic is the Canadian

:04:10. > :04:16.catapults. This Wimbledon he has averaged nearly a set worth of H

:04:17. > :04:20.aces per match. He's going to 7-4 aces in a game. With John McEnroe

:04:21. > :04:26.coaching him on, Raonic is adding grace to the grunt and grit. The

:04:27. > :04:31.first time in his career he recovered from two sets down to

:04:32. > :04:35.triumph. Now Raonic must overthrow Wimbledon aristocracy. Vintage

:04:36. > :04:40.Federer, how many times do we say it? That was extraordinary. Just as

:04:41. > :04:47.it seemed Roger Federer's body might betray him, he's been invigorated.

:04:48. > :04:52.Marin Cilic to him towards the exit when it two sets and three match

:04:53. > :04:58.points over him, Lee found panache, not panic. Remarkable, he continues

:04:59. > :05:02.to add chapters to this legacy that he has given this sport. The inner

:05:03. > :05:05.calm hilt on the memory of the seven Wimbledon titles. Can he keep the

:05:06. > :05:13.light from fading? Centre Court welcome to the players

:05:14. > :05:19.out. The Canadian coming first. After a gap, the firm fan favourite,

:05:20. > :05:24.the seven times Wimbledon champion. It was the Canadian who settled into

:05:25. > :05:25.his groove early on, a double fault from Federer handing Raonic the

:05:26. > :05:34.early break. There were flashes of brilliance

:05:35. > :05:37.from Federer. But Raonic held firm and went on to take the first set

:05:38. > :05:44.with his glorious shots down the line.

:05:45. > :05:52.At 5-4 in the second set, Federer had 0-40 on the Raonic served at the

:05:53. > :05:58.Canadian saved all three set points and another for good measure. He

:05:59. > :06:03.would finally level up at 5-5 games and eventually the second set went

:06:04. > :06:08.to a tie-break. The trusted Raonic serve wobbled. The six double fault

:06:09. > :06:15.of the match and think Federer the mini-break at 4-3. Federer went on

:06:16. > :06:18.to take the tie-break 7-3. At the end of the set both players went off

:06:19. > :06:19.for a bathroom break and Raonic took a full six minutes, leaving Federer

:06:20. > :06:32.hanging. We're going to join in the third set

:06:33. > :06:35.at 1-1. Three games all. Raonic about reserve, commentary from John

:06:36. > :07:01.McEnroe alongside Andrew Cotter. Unlucky for Raonic, it clips the

:07:02. > :07:05.tape, gave Federer the time he needed. Took a good position to win

:07:06. > :07:30.that first point. Into the net well, finished off

:07:31. > :07:35.beautifully. Extremely difficult to lob from that position, to allow

:07:36. > :08:33.Raonic to close it, closer to the net.

:08:34. > :08:45.Massive stroke again from Federer. It's a risky move. To go to

:08:46. > :08:52.Federer's forehand. Paid a stiff price for that. In the last that he

:08:53. > :09:36.was able to save four break points, Raonic. Looks to do so again here.

:09:37. > :09:43.Federer scores first in this first that. He has the break. STUDIO:

:09:44. > :09:52.Federer login prompt, and with good reason, you finish the set on serve

:09:53. > :09:59.with an ace. COMMENTATOR: He leaves on Centre Court in the semifinal

:10:00. > :10:03.from one set down to 2-1 sets. STUDIO: Everybody tends to the

:10:04. > :10:09.momentum was with Federer, but at this point Raonic was pulling out

:10:10. > :10:13.all the stops. -- everybody sensed the momentum was with Federer.

:10:14. > :10:17.Raonic unleashed somebody serves, kept Federer in the backhand corner.

:10:18. > :10:22.We're going to join with Federer serving 5-6 down, so going with that

:10:23. > :10:26.in this fourth set he has deserved to take it to the tie-break. -- he

:10:27. > :10:43.has two serve. He hit it 30-30 the previous service

:10:44. > :10:46.game. Easier to hit that when you are 40-0 down. 30-30 would have

:10:47. > :11:02.given him a set point. Only number three in the double

:11:03. > :12:08.fault stakes, Federer. Superb, superb from Raonic, what

:12:09. > :12:20.touch! And he takes himself now to the break. Advantage Raonic. Just a

:12:21. > :12:28.few moments ago it scarcely seemed possible, Federer in control of this

:12:29. > :12:33.game. That point Raonic. -- but set point Raonic. That is how to see it

:12:34. > :12:57.off. Wow, the best rally he said the

:12:58. > :13:01.entire match, and the best return right there. Get the speed gun on

:13:02. > :13:17.that one. Set point once more. Just devoured that second serve,

:13:18. > :14:51.Raonic. It's wide. Another chance for

:14:52. > :15:22.Raonic. Advantage Raonic. ANDREW COTTER: He has it! Into a

:15:23. > :15:25.fifth set we go. Milos Raonic stuns Federer and most of the Centre Court

:15:26. > :15:36.crowd. We go on. CLARE BALDING: Credit to Raonic for

:15:37. > :15:40.taking the chance when handed it. Federer had only served two double

:15:41. > :15:45.faults in the Championship before this match. Raonic took it to a

:15:46. > :15:49.fifth set and this an unusual sight, Federer getting treatment on court.

:15:50. > :15:51.So, into the deciding set. We will join it with Federer serving 1-2

:15:52. > :16:25.down. JOHN MCENROE: Before the last match,

:16:26. > :16:34.Federer hadn't played a five-setter in almost a year. At the US Open he

:16:35. > :16:39.came from two sets to love down against Monfils. It cost him the

:16:40. > :16:47.next match against Cilic. You wonder if it will happen today.

:16:48. > :16:53.He's trying to pump himself up. Raonic has done a good job of taking

:16:54. > :17:22.the crowd out of it, at least temporarily.

:17:23. > :18:19.It might have been going wide. I think it was going in either way.

:18:20. > :18:45.Not so long ago Federer had a rhythm on his serve. Not now.

:18:46. > :19:04.It's good! Federer is down. Raonic has the break-point to come. It's

:19:05. > :19:08.not often you see Roger Federer on the floor on Centre Court. Not sure

:19:09. > :19:15.I have ever seen that. Except when he's won the tournament. That was an

:19:16. > :19:20.amazing point. He's calling the trainer right now. There was nothing

:19:21. > :19:30.there in that replay. There was no slip. Something gave way. The crowd

:19:31. > :19:41.are chuckling, but this is not good at all.

:19:42. > :19:55.Let's see if we can see anything... He tripped. He caught his toe.

:19:56. > :20:05.You can put direct strain on the knee. He is coming out. He says he

:20:06. > :20:14.is OK. This is break-point for Raonic. What moments in this match

:20:15. > :20:16.now. We talked about Federer being in his comfort zone... Far from it

:20:17. > :20:28.now. UMPIRE: Advantage, Raonic.

:20:29. > :21:54.Raonic still fighting, believing that a break can be his. He has to

:21:55. > :21:55.believe it more than he has ever believed that he's got a shot of

:21:56. > :22:35.getting to the finals here. The double fault plagues him again.

:22:36. > :22:55.Another opportunity for Milos Raonic.

:22:56. > :23:01.It's extraordinary from Milos Raonic! He has the break! He has the

:23:02. > :23:06.edge in the deciding set! What a point!

:23:07. > :23:11.CLARE BALDING: Some brilliant movement from Raonic. As we re-join

:23:12. > :23:17.it, it's a question of whether the Canadian can hold his nerve and

:23:18. > :24:06.serve to take him through to his first Wimbledon final.

:24:07. > :24:16.ANDREW COTTER: When the pressure has come down, when the moment has been

:24:17. > :24:31.here, Milos Raonic has shown no signs of nerves. Three match-points.

:24:32. > :24:49.It's wide. He has it! Raonic to his first final. And Federer fails -

:24:50. > :24:51.knocked out by Milos Raonic. REPORTER: Many congratulations, you

:24:52. > :24:56.are through to the final. Describe your emotions. You have beaten a

:24:57. > :24:58.great champion today? It is an incredible comeback for me. I was

:24:59. > :25:04.struggling through the third and fourth set. He was playing some

:25:05. > :25:09.really good tennis. Just found a little opening. I managed to finish

:25:10. > :25:13.it off in a great match. You have added to your coaching team. John

:25:14. > :25:18.McEnroe has joined you. What sort of influence has he had with you? He

:25:19. > :25:23.told me to leave it all out there today. I showed a lot of emotion.

:25:24. > :25:27.Always positive. That is what got me through. Mentally, I had one of my

:25:28. > :25:34.best matches in my history, in my career. And I think that is what

:25:35. > :25:37.made the biggest difference. I was looking at Centre Court, thank you

:25:38. > :25:42.for the crowd, thank you for a great feeling that you gave me throughout

:25:43. > :25:45.the Championships. I was fortunate enough yet again to play all my

:25:46. > :25:54.matches on Centre Court. I don't take that for granted. For me, it's

:25:55. > :25:58.respect towards Milos, I chose to wait for him, he walked off

:25:59. > :26:02.together, thanked the crowd, and then leave the stage for Milos at

:26:03. > :26:07.the end. That was what I was going through, not thinking about this

:26:08. > :26:10.might be my last Wimbledon. Federer making it clear he is not on the

:26:11. > :26:14.verge of retirement. He also said the chances he missed, he was almost

:26:15. > :26:19.tearful, John, because there were turning points. It did look like it

:26:20. > :26:24.was going Federer's way? He has been tearful before. This wouldn't have

:26:25. > :26:27.been the first time. What Milos needed to do was fight fire with

:26:28. > :26:31.fire in terms of effort and will. Here is a guy who has won it seven

:26:32. > :26:36.times and wants it so bad. Certainly, at 4-4 in the fourth set,

:26:37. > :26:41.things were looking really bleak for Milos, he is down two or three

:26:42. > :26:45.break-points, he hit a huge forehand, the forehand of his life.

:26:46. > :26:50.That was the most positive intense match I have ever seen him play. He

:26:51. > :26:54.needed to do that against Federer. It was fantastic. He is a good kid.

:26:55. > :26:57.Well deserved. Everybody watching attend of that fourth set would have

:26:58. > :27:06.thought this is going to a tie-break. Then Federer goes off?

:27:07. > :27:16.The fourth set went... Roger was the better player. Milos was getting

:27:17. > :27:22.rattled. Everybody thought it is going to be Federer in four. Then

:27:23. > :27:26.something unusual happened. Roger served two double faults. One of the

:27:27. > :27:34.most consistent servers in the game. He got a bit nervous, a bit tight.

:27:35. > :27:38.Didn't go for the balls. He let Milos do the playing and he was

:27:39. > :27:45.defending. All of a sudden, you go to the fifth set, you wonder, is he

:27:46. > :27:50.tired? He is older than Milos by ten years. You can still bring out great

:27:51. > :27:54.matches, it is just the recovery time, it takes you longer to get

:27:55. > :28:03.back into shape. At the beginning of the fifth he had that slip. It was

:28:04. > :28:08.the left knee. Against Milos, that is not good enough. John, I want to

:28:09. > :28:13.talk about the tactics that you helped Milos employ. The body serve

:28:14. > :28:20.seemed particularly brutal today and effective? Carlos Moya noticed in a

:28:21. > :28:27.previous match with Sam Querrey, his miles per hour was down by 10 or

:28:28. > :28:33.15mph. Sam wasn't do a lot on the return, so we needed to bring his

:28:34. > :28:39.A-game. One of the key serves is into the body. You have to go after

:28:40. > :28:45.him, not give him any time. He was hitting serves in the 140s, that was

:28:46. > :28:49.some major power tennis. That is what he needed to do. Federer, he

:28:50. > :28:53.blocks a lot of balls. You know what you are going to get. He likes to

:28:54. > :28:57.hit the slice low cross-court. If you give him a look on the forehand,

:28:58. > :29:04.he will go for that. That was a monumental serving day. He tried to

:29:05. > :29:09.pin Federer into that backhand corner, similar to Cilic. It is no

:29:10. > :29:13.secret that Roger's forehands is one of the greatest shots in the history

:29:14. > :29:16.of tennis. If you are going to go after Roger Federer, you have a

:29:17. > :29:20.better chance to try to get him where you want him, wait for your

:29:21. > :29:30.opportunity, which Milos did a real good job. He knows the chip is

:29:31. > :29:35.coming. He has time to run around. I thought Milos volleyed as well as I

:29:36. > :29:45.have ever seen him. Why is that so? I wonder why! Also, thank you,

:29:46. > :29:49.Boris! Milos is someone who is extremely intelligent, his father is

:29:50. > :29:55.an engineer, he is very analytical, so if you talk to him in a

:29:56. > :30:03.mathematical way, use the court as a geometry equation, he is good at

:30:04. > :30:07.solving the problem. He is getting it, when to move forward. Hopefully

:30:08. > :30:09.I did a bit. That paid off at the end of this match. Roger played like

:30:10. > :30:18.a five-setter. Let's talk about Roger and what that

:30:19. > :30:22.five set match might have taken out of him. And his lack of match

:30:23. > :30:27.fitness to this point. You can play yourself into form, but you can also

:30:28. > :30:32.play until you are tired. There is a fine line of playing enough and too

:30:33. > :30:36.much, it obviously has nothing to do with age, whether you're 25, 35, you

:30:37. > :30:42.have to have enough love matches, four and five setters to get match

:30:43. > :30:49.fit. You can't get it in practice, it's not the same intensity. It was

:30:50. > :30:53.a good thing for Roger to have that five setter against Cilic, maybe it

:30:54. > :30:57.was a bit long, it was pretty hot on Wednesday, he played at 1pm, he

:30:58. > :31:01.played three and a half hours and he came back from three point four.

:31:02. > :31:06.Maybe it was set too much. He hasn't had any five setters in one year.

:31:07. > :31:09.This was definitely one set too much, he said it in the press

:31:10. > :31:15.conference, he should have gone to a tie-break and seen what was what.

:31:16. > :31:17.But in the fifth, we see the slip, you'd already have treatment at the

:31:18. > :31:24.beginning of the fifth. He loses his footing here. It looks painful. It's

:31:25. > :31:31.unheard of to see him do some thing like that for starters, we were

:31:32. > :31:35.worried it was an injury. I've never seen a guy move so beautiful, and

:31:36. > :31:41.with seemingly less effort. The fact he was labouring. That's what we

:31:42. > :31:47.told Milos Raonic. The guy played a great match to come from so far

:31:48. > :31:51.down, but he's 34, almost 35, you don't recover as quickly with age. I

:31:52. > :31:55.don't care who you are. You saw that in the fifth set. He's not sure how

:31:56. > :31:59.bad that injury is, it could be something that last 24 hours, a

:32:00. > :32:04.week, or it could be longer term, he doesn't know. What Milos Raonic did

:32:05. > :32:08.which is so impressive, to hold his nerve at the end, the way he served

:32:09. > :32:12.out for the match without seemingly having that frees moment of them oh

:32:13. > :32:16.my word, I'm on the verge of the Wimbledon final. He almost had a

:32:17. > :32:22.chance for the double break, Roger forcing the serve... You got the

:32:23. > :32:28.sense and maybe Cilic felt the same late in the fourth set, Roger seems

:32:29. > :32:33.like he didn't have the energy required to do it and if you weren't

:32:34. > :32:38.going to blink, the way Cilic did, let's face it, the difference with

:32:39. > :32:42.Cilic is he wasn't serving. Those match points were on Roger's serve,

:32:43. > :32:48.it's a big difference. Milos Raonic round his second gear. That year he

:32:49. > :32:53.never thought wasn't sure he had. Late in the fourth set. He had this

:32:54. > :32:57.combination of real energy, but nervous energy, that he was trying

:32:58. > :33:01.to figure out how to deal with. In the fifth set he's Federer had

:33:02. > :33:05.slowed down and he was playing well, hitting the ball cleanly, it made

:33:06. > :33:10.him a little more relaxed. He's never been in a Grand Slam final.

:33:11. > :33:15.Trust me, his heart rate was in the 200 probably. Always nice to get the

:33:16. > :33:21.first couple of points. To affect performance, he becomes the first

:33:22. > :33:26.Canadian man ever into a singles Grand Slam final. Would it be the

:33:27. > :33:30.top seed left in the tournament, Andy Murray, or Tomas Berdych. They

:33:31. > :33:34.were meeting for the 15th time, but the first time on grass. Andy Murray

:33:35. > :33:39.and Tomas Berdych have known each other since their teens and there

:33:40. > :33:45.has been the odd choice word along the way. They are back on good

:33:46. > :33:48.terms. In their 14 meetings, Murray has won eight. They've never met

:33:49. > :33:55.here at Wimbledon. The six foot five champ is ranked ninth in the world.

:33:56. > :33:59.-- six foot five Czech is ranked ninth in the world. A tour de force

:34:00. > :34:06.from Andy Murray. Tremendous tennis from Tomas Berdych. Wonderful tennis

:34:07. > :34:09.rally, Murray coming out on top. Verdict had a late night against you

:34:10. > :34:15.regrettably in the fourth round but a straightforward quarterfinal win

:34:16. > :34:19.has put him in fine condition. Tomas Berdych back in the Wimbledon

:34:20. > :34:23.semifinals. As for Murray, he went the distance against the bouncing,

:34:24. > :34:25.booming Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and his determination to win was there for

:34:26. > :34:33.all to see. He beat if he beat Berdych, Murray makes his

:34:34. > :34:38.third Wimbledon final and 11 Grand Slam final, which would take him

:34:39. > :34:41.past the British record held by Fred Perry, another milestone for Murray

:34:42. > :34:49.will the other day when Andy Murray came

:34:50. > :34:52.out on court it was half full after Federer's five set epic. There,

:34:53. > :34:56.having gone out, a lot of people taking a chance to have a break.

:34:57. > :34:59.They were into it pretty quickly and it was Murray who came out of the

:35:00. > :35:04.blocks fastest, breaking Berdych in the second game. The Czech bounced

:35:05. > :35:08.back straightaway in the following game.

:35:09. > :35:14.Plenty of fist pumping going on, plenty of determination. The British

:35:15. > :35:21.number one seized his chance again in the eighth game.

:35:22. > :35:36.Are and the first set was promptly wrapped up. With an ace. Murray had

:35:37. > :35:40.the bit between his teeth. He's always been a fast move on court,

:35:41. > :35:49.but he was really chasing balls down. We're going to join it, Murray

:35:50. > :35:51.having taken the first set 6-3. 3-3 in the second. Commentary from

:35:52. > :36:10.Andrew Castle, Tim Henman and Lleyton Hewitt.

:36:11. > :36:16.He makes that passing shot looks so easy, every time he gets pushed out

:36:17. > :36:19.there, but believe me it's one of the hardest shots, take a south of

:36:20. > :36:54.the ball, did it down. Great wrist action.

:36:55. > :37:01.It's just relentless from Murray, he did so well to hold onto his own

:37:02. > :37:04.service game. Fully engaged in the next. Try to get this important

:37:05. > :38:31.break. It's really amazing with the quality

:38:32. > :38:34.of Murray's shots in that rally why he didn't come forward just to knock

:38:35. > :38:41.off an easy volley. But he got there in the end. He just kept taking the

:38:42. > :38:44.body blows there, Tomas Berdych. Side to side. The big fella moving.

:38:45. > :39:25.Now he faces two break point will Gets the first break of serve in

:39:26. > :39:32.this second set. Second break-up. STUDIO: Murray fully concentrated.

:39:33. > :39:37.Boris was saying the sun can get very low, it can really bother you

:39:38. > :39:41.at the far end. Berdych surfing. Murray with a beautiful shot down

:39:42. > :39:45.the line takes the second break and that second set 6-3. Let's rejoin

:39:46. > :39:53.the action early in the served tweet -- early in the third set with

:39:54. > :40:08.Berdych surfing. That's the shot he's got be worried

:40:09. > :40:13.about at the moment, it's the forehand that is breaking down. The

:40:14. > :40:17.previous game he got a short one on game points to Murray and he went

:40:18. > :40:18.for the drop shot because he had lost confidence in that short

:40:19. > :40:35.forehand. Imposing his game on the opposition.

:40:36. > :40:42.Driving that backhand as soon as he got Lednl back on board. Day one at

:40:43. > :40:47.Queen's Club against Nicolas Mahut, first round, he was stepping up and

:40:48. > :40:50.driving it. But a similar feel as well, come through a tough service

:40:51. > :40:54.game, you'll looked to put the pressure on Berdych. -- he'll look

:40:55. > :41:11.to put the pressure on Berdych. Tomas Berdych actually asked Ivan

:41:12. > :41:16.Lendl to coach him and he said, no, I don't want to come back to tears.

:41:17. > :41:40.But Andy calls and suddenly he does. -- come back to tennis.

:41:41. > :41:46.It's amazing how many times we've seen Berdych come into the net, be

:41:47. > :41:51.in the dominant position, and then Murray used that dexterity, the hand

:41:52. > :42:25.skills, to push the ball back into an awkward position.

:42:26. > :42:37.The crowd enjoying it, Lednl impassive as always. But Murray is

:42:38. > :42:54.very much in the flow. That incredible log ban on the line.

:42:55. > :43:00.He does it out. Each, makes it look so easy as well. Murray 5-3 in the

:43:01. > :43:56.third set serving for a place in the final for the third time.

:43:57. > :44:00.Murray has served down the T exceptionally well, but you might

:44:01. > :44:03.have thought Berdych would move over a little bit to say about time you

:44:04. > :44:22.hit a few out wide here. Murray wants that same ball back,

:44:23. > :46:04.thank you very much, I like that one.

:46:05. > :46:10.ANDREW CASTLE: Murray in straight sets. A demolition job, really. In

:46:11. > :46:30.less than two hours! CLARE BALDING: A fantastic response

:46:31. > :46:34.from the crowd, to a clinical performance. Murray made nine

:46:35. > :46:39.unforced errors and this was his response afterwards.

:46:40. > :46:42.The older you get, you never know how many chances you are going to

:46:43. > :46:47.get to play in Grand Slam finals so you want to make the most of your

:46:48. > :46:55.opportunities and I'm glad I managed to get through to today and, yeah, I

:46:56. > :47:01.guess the older you get, you are more experienced, which helps.

:47:02. > :47:05.Having had those experiences in the past have helped me a lot, playing

:47:06. > :47:11.against some of the best players of all time, so I know what I have to

:47:12. > :47:15.do to get to the latter stages of these events. I need to play a great

:47:16. > :47:19.match on Sunday if I want to win. There were a couple of

:47:20. > :47:26.opportunities. In those moments, I was a bit short on that. I wasn't

:47:27. > :47:31.able to execute them in the second set when I was 3-2 up and had a

:47:32. > :47:38.couple of break-points on his serve. There was a good chance as well.

:47:39. > :47:42.Overall, it was a good run. I think it's a good two weeks, which

:47:43. > :47:48.definitely show me that that is the way to do it. That's the way to go.

:47:49. > :47:52.That's positive signs for my second half of the year. To be fair,

:47:53. > :47:57.another good performance from Tomas Berdych here at Wimbledon. John,

:47:58. > :48:04.Murray had his number. He was impressive? He was great. Berdych,

:48:05. > :48:10.too me, he took him out of the match, for a guy that is now 30, and

:48:11. > :48:16.he doesn't dig deep enough, he is happy with the situation he's in. It

:48:17. > :48:20.is too bad that he wasn't able to... The truth is, he is not as good as

:48:21. > :48:24.Murray. He doesn't have as much variety as Murray. That is a big

:48:25. > :48:29.problem. It seemed like he gave in mentally. You hate to see that in a

:48:30. > :48:32.match of that magnitude. How much of a difference will it make, Boris,

:48:33. > :48:36.for Andy going into this final without... He had a five-setter

:48:37. > :48:40.against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. At the French, when Novak played him, he

:48:41. > :48:47.had a really hard start to that Grand Slam. He's had an easier time

:48:48. > :48:50.here? I think it can make a big difference, especially if the final

:48:51. > :48:56.is a long match. At the French, he had five hours more tennis than

:48:57. > :49:02.Novak. We knew Andy was going to get tired. Here, he has had a

:49:03. > :49:06.straightforward tournament until Wednesday, and that is something you

:49:07. > :49:09.need to do in Grand Slams because you want to be pushed before you

:49:10. > :49:14.reach the final. Physically, he should be fine. Mentally, he should

:49:15. > :49:19.be sky-high, being back in the Wimbledon final. His favourite

:49:20. > :49:24.tournament in the world. Facing an unusual opponent. He expected Roger

:49:25. > :49:30.to win, all fairness to Milos. The preparations will be a bit different

:49:31. > :49:35.than they might have been. Raonic is going to come in... When Berdych

:49:36. > :49:40.came in, Murray picked him off? I think Raonic is more comfortable

:49:41. > :49:47.moving forward. I think his confidence is higher on grass than

:49:48. > :49:51.Berdych's is. The truth is, Murray, from the beginning of the event, has

:49:52. > :49:59.been playing better than anyone. When this guy's protege, his man,

:50:00. > :50:03.lost, a lot of guys' eyes lit up. Except for yours! Raonic, the

:50:04. > :50:07.opportunity for him, Federer and Murray, he doesn't have to play

:50:08. > :50:10.Djokovic, he is playing Raonic. Ask him if he would take that before the

:50:11. > :50:15.tournament started. He would say yes! Fantastic pace around the

:50:16. > :50:19.court. We saw it there again. When he gets there, he's got such skill.

:50:20. > :50:25.The lob is his favourite shot now over the drop shot. He just is

:50:26. > :50:32.phenomenal from anywhere. As you said, the variety, what he can do.

:50:33. > :50:36.He is a multiple Grand Slam winner. He has been long time number two in

:50:37. > :50:42.the world, knocking at the door various times to number one. He's

:50:43. > :50:49.very complete. With age, he seems to be getting better because he really

:50:50. > :50:59.works on all cylinders, calling Lendl up a couple of weeks ago was

:51:00. > :51:03.brave. He wants to win the major and that's, he's got this deep fire

:51:04. > :51:06.burning inside. You said Tomas Berdych is lacking it a bit. Most

:51:07. > :51:12.other players are lacking it. Andy has that. He won't be happy with the

:51:13. > :51:16.final. Probably tonight, he's thinking, OK, it could have been

:51:17. > :51:20.Roger. Tomorrow, Federer will be back in Switzerland and Andy Murray

:51:21. > :51:29.will be thinking about Milos Raonic. It's a rematch of the Queen's final.

:51:30. > :51:34.Let's round up a few of the other things that have been going on

:51:35. > :51:38.today. Whatever triumph and sadness they

:51:39. > :51:42.experience on their own, the Williams sisters find time to come

:51:43. > :51:45.together. They have won five Wimbledon doubles titles but none in

:51:46. > :51:50.four years. They gave notice they are very much a force. Facing one

:51:51. > :51:54.sister is tough enough, facing both when they are on form proved too

:51:55. > :51:59.much for Julia Goerges and Karolina Pliskova. The eighth seeds never

:52:00. > :52:07.gave up, but another Wimbledon final will feature the name Williams and

:52:08. > :52:10.Serena has a busy weekend ahead! Next opponents Yaroslava Shvedova

:52:11. > :52:15.and Timea Babos won't be daunted. They knocked out the top seeds in

:52:16. > :52:18.the quarterfinals and made short work of Raquel Atawo and Abigail

:52:19. > :52:22.Spears. The fifth seeds have experience, too. They have played in

:52:23. > :52:25.three doubles finals here. The Heather Watson that appeared on

:52:26. > :52:32.Court 1 today looks a different woman to the one who trudged off

:52:33. > :52:35.Court 12 last week. Playing mixed doubles with Henri Kontinen has

:52:36. > :52:41.brought out the best in her. Having eliminated the holders yesterday,

:52:42. > :52:45.they got Alla Kudryavtseva and Scott Lipsky needing snookers, then

:52:46. > :52:49.started the trick shots. This wasn't an exhibition match, but a

:52:50. > :52:53.quarterfinal. These two are into the semi-finals and loving it.

:52:54. > :53:02.Yesterday, Gordon Reid met royalty. Today it was Joachim Gerard. At

:53:03. > :53:06.stake, a place in the first Wimbledon wheelchair final. Gordon

:53:07. > :53:09.Reid won in straight sets against a man regarded as the favourite.

:53:10. > :53:14.Elation had to give way to preparation as Reid was soon in

:53:15. > :53:25.action against Gerard again as part of opposing doubles teams. Twice the

:53:26. > :53:38.players, but same result. Reid and Hewitt won in two sets. Reid is not

:53:39. > :53:44.having a bad few days. Jordanne Whiley couldn't get through

:53:45. > :53:51.her semifinal against Aniek Van Koot. Whiley tweeted she was gutted,

:53:52. > :53:58.that she needed to forget it. This evening it is a semi in the doubles.

:53:59. > :54:06.She is the reigning champion. CLARE BALDING: She did return later

:54:07. > :54:10.to book a place in the final. Boris, John, we have you both here. Let's

:54:11. > :54:14.talk about the men's final on Sunday. If it was Novak, up against

:54:15. > :54:19.Andy Murray, what would you be saying to him, Boris? I don't think

:54:20. > :54:27.I will say that on BBC Television! Is it rude? Let me be a little bit

:54:28. > :54:31.more diplomatic. You already were! Woah, more specific, I meant.

:54:32. > :54:36.Obviously, you are not going to win a Wimbledon final by waiting for the

:54:37. > :54:39.other guy to lose it. That's very important. You have to go for your

:54:40. > :54:47.shots, you have to be aggressive, you have to do a bit more than the

:54:48. > :54:51.other guy. He also wants to win badly, so you have to make sure you

:54:52. > :54:54.want it a bit more. There are ways to play Andy Murray, that Novak

:54:55. > :54:59.does. He is able to because his baseline game is good, he is

:55:00. > :55:04.physically as strong as Andy, maybe a bit stronger, so there are

:55:05. > :55:09.different ways to play Andy. Milos has a total different game, he has a

:55:10. > :55:13.big serve, he comes into the net, a bit more than he's done today,

:55:14. > :55:17.hopefully, he has a big second serve, hopefully more than today.

:55:18. > :55:20.John will tell him the right things. Raonic played brilliantly well in

:55:21. > :55:25.the Queen's final, he was a set and a break up. He had it there. He very

:55:26. > :55:31.politely let Murray back in. How much, John... I feel I should leave

:55:32. > :55:35.now! Here is my question. How much do you talk to Raonic about playing

:55:36. > :55:41.Murray and how much do you talk to him about playing the occasion?

:55:42. > :55:47.Obviously, there is a combination. Murray's playing the best... Boris

:55:48. > :55:54.is accurate. Murray is playing better than he ever has. Adding

:55:55. > :55:58.Lendl has added more belief. Milos has waited for this opportunity for

:55:59. > :56:01.a long time, there's a lot of expectations. He's one of the few

:56:02. > :56:05.guys that's admitted, I want to be the best in the world, I want to win

:56:06. > :56:15.majors. Guess what, that puts more pressure on yourself. Here he is and

:56:16. > :56:21.he's got the type of game, as we saw today, he can take the racquet out

:56:22. > :56:28.of everyone's hands. He missed a volley by this much. He got a little

:56:29. > :56:33.bit tight. Novak and Murray are the greatest returners in the history of

:56:34. > :56:37.tennis. This is not a big secret that Milos will have to go for it.

:56:38. > :56:41.Also the part about the mental part, that is the really the key. What you

:56:42. > :56:46.saw from Milos that you haven't seen much of before, is how badly he

:56:47. > :56:51.wanted it and how deep he was willing to go here and that energy

:56:52. > :56:55.was positive and I think it really helped him in this match. He has to

:56:56. > :56:59.do that. It helped Murray against Tsonga. Things are getting more

:57:00. > :57:03.exciting. The players are figuring this out. And starting to do it

:57:04. > :57:08.more. It will be hugely exciting on Sunday afternoon. You have a full

:57:09. > :57:14.day to work with him. Tomorrow, we will be fully focussed on the final

:57:15. > :57:24.of the women's. So cool under pressure. That's

:57:25. > :57:31.brilliant. She got it! An exhibition performance from Serena Williams.

:57:32. > :57:37.Wow! At the age of 28, she's reinvented herself. They are not

:57:38. > :57:42.hanging around. Another super performance. The

:57:43. > :57:50.winner in Melbourne and now a Wimbledon final for Angelique

:57:51. > :57:55.Kerber. All the build-up will start at 1.00pm on BBC One. Before that,

:57:56. > :57:59.we have coverage of the wheelchair finals from 11.00am on BBC Two.

:58:00. > :58:04.Serena Williams, she gets the chance again to get to the number that she

:58:05. > :58:08.refuses to talk about. Is she going to do it? I admire the fact she

:58:09. > :58:13.keeps putting herself in this position. You saw Novak feel the

:58:14. > :58:18.pressure here. Going for the Slam, Serena going for it last year. Her

:58:19. > :58:23.game is more impactful, the serve bigger on grass, but Kerber likes it

:58:24. > :58:27.lower, the ball, which helps her. For me, this match-up for Serena is

:58:28. > :58:31.best on this surface. I like her chances best here and I would be

:58:32. > :58:34.surprised, even though I was surprised Kerber beat her in

:58:35. > :58:40.Australia, so she's elevated her game to a whole new level. She moves

:58:41. > :58:47.great. It is going to be close. In a word, Boris, your winner? Give me

:58:48. > :58:51.two words... My fellow German beat her in Melbourne and she certainly

:58:52. > :58:56.has a chance to beat her tomorrow. But if I would be a money guy, and

:58:57. > :59:00.bet on it, I would pick Serena. Thank you both very much for your

:59:01. > :59:03.company and thank you also to Milos Raonic and to Andy Murray for

:59:04. > :59:05.stellar performances today. They will face each other in the final on

:59:06. > :59:07.Sunday.
