:00:45. > :00:50.We are living in uncertain times, but amidst that, some things remain
:00:51. > :01:00.constant. Wimbledon is one such thing. Why? Take this week. The rain
:01:01. > :01:05.has fallen, so have the seeds. It is the biggest upset of the tournament
:01:06. > :01:11.so far. What a stunning assault. It has not been a happy hunting ground
:01:12. > :01:19.again. The sun has shone, so have the stars. What a way to finish.
:01:20. > :01:25.This remains Roger Federer's house. A tour de force from Andy Murray. As
:01:26. > :01:31.is tradition on middle Saturday, the Royal box was full of some twinkly
:01:32. > :01:36.guests from the world of sport. But the biggest invasion was reserved
:01:37. > :01:40.for one of the few, a rare woman indeed, who flew Spitfires and
:01:41. > :01:49.retains in World War II, 92-year-old Joy Lofthouse.
:01:50. > :01:57.It was an incredibly moving start to the day, a day that has been beset
:01:58. > :02:02.by showers, we have had three or four rain delays, frustrating for
:02:03. > :02:06.the players. For the spectators, they get evening tennis, just under
:02:07. > :02:11.an hour left of light. We will keep you across the results. If you want
:02:12. > :02:15.to continue watching Jack Sock against Milos Raonic, that is on the
:02:16. > :02:25.red button. We have a panel of brains, talent, to discuss! We will
:02:26. > :02:28.start with a story that began last night, as we all went to bed
:02:29. > :02:32.wondering whether the unthinkable could happen, whether Novak
:02:33. > :02:38.Djokovic, the best player in the world, the hold-up of all grand
:02:39. > :02:44.titles, could be beaten. He went to bed 2-0 down against Sam Querrey.
:02:45. > :02:54.Sam Querrey from the United States number 41 in the world, that is what
:02:55. > :03:05.Novak Djokovic faces today. It is clean. He has come to play. His
:03:06. > :03:10.concentration is not good. Sustained pressure from the American.
:03:11. > :03:22.What a pass on the backhand side. It is a mini-break. That is a fantastic
:03:23. > :03:27.set of tennis. A real shock brewing here on Court Number One at the end
:03:28. > :03:34.of the day. I would not be surprised if Querrey steals two sets here. An
:03:35. > :03:40.extraordinary serving performance. Play suspended. That is it.
:03:41. > :03:42.Wonderful performance from him, who would have thought it? Djokovic two
:03:43. > :03:50.sets down. The rain break may have come at the
:03:51. > :03:52.right time for Novak Djokovic, Querrey was tight and nervous this
:03:53. > :04:03.afternoon. Djokovic was better, he raced into a
:04:04. > :04:13.4-0 lead, when they went off again. When they came back, he took the
:04:14. > :04:17.third set 6-3. The comeback was on. At 1-1, it rained again, but not for
:04:18. > :04:21.long, so the players hung out in a locker room to the side of Court
:04:22. > :04:27.One, which does not have a roof. Temp Micro under huge pressure to
:04:28. > :04:31.about this fourth set. We will join it on his serve, he has saved three
:04:32. > :04:59.break points. It is advantage Djokovic.
:05:00. > :05:45.He did so well. The first was not much good, the second was great.
:05:46. > :05:51.After this little piece of magnificence, there was an eruption.
:05:52. > :06:05.Whatever is going on in there, it came out right there. Quite a
:06:06. > :06:30.fearsome sight. Like Vesuvius on a consummate afternoon.
:06:31. > :06:48.A clearly emotional Djokovic trying to fire himself to a new level.
:06:49. > :06:55.It would be a major surprise if this man were to go out at the very top
:06:56. > :07:14.of the draw. Fancy getting to Wimbledon only
:07:15. > :07:26.having lost two completed matches, both on clay.
:07:27. > :07:49.Chances now for Djokovic to break through deep in this fourth set.
:07:50. > :07:53.Mr Querrey is challenging the ball on the service line. If it was long,
:07:54. > :08:31.it did not miss by much. This is a ninth break point in this
:08:32. > :08:35.set for Djokovic. That is the 30th ace of the match for Querrey. Still
:08:36. > :08:59.need a few more. It is quite hard to be philosophical
:09:00. > :09:54.when those things go past all the time.
:09:55. > :10:01.Querrey has to dominate with his first couple of strikes in the
:10:02. > :10:02.rally. If it goes more than five shots, Djokovic starts to exploit
:10:03. > :10:54.the movement. That is it, the breakthrough which
:10:55. > :11:41.may mean two sets all. Finally, a break of serve.
:11:42. > :11:53.He has not challenged. Twice in a row, we know that that ball was in.
:11:54. > :12:10.Two in a row, serving for the set. Not shop between the yesterday.
:12:11. > :12:17.At this stage of the match, if there was even the slightest element of
:12:18. > :12:29.that, you would ask the question. If he had any challenges left.
:12:30. > :12:42.He has found it. He did not have both challenges left. It is us not
:12:43. > :12:46.sharp, he was fine! Sam Querrey, sharp on the backhand down the line.
:12:47. > :13:16.Amazing. It is not as if Querrey has been
:13:17. > :13:31.brilliant on the break point either, three from 14 in the match.
:13:32. > :13:40.He has missed it. Can you believe that?
:13:41. > :13:47.Extraordinary to see Djokovic make so many mistakes when serving for
:13:48. > :13:52.the set. The rain came down again, he says to Boris Becker, I need to
:13:53. > :13:59.talk to you. From potentially going into a deciding set, Djokovic now at
:14:00. > :14:09.5-5, these amazing shots showing him preparing. They both helped their
:14:10. > :15:02.serve to go into a tie-break. Djokovic already a mini-break ahead.
:15:03. > :15:05.The longest rally of the match, admirable resistance from Sam
:15:06. > :15:17.Querrey. Closing in on the biggest victory of
:15:18. > :15:47.his career. Does he start thinking about the winning line?
:15:48. > :15:55.Mr Querrey is challenging the call. I am pretty sure it did not even
:15:56. > :16:25.touch the line, it was so far inside it.
:16:26. > :16:33.So much eye contact between Djokovic and Boris Becker and his camp up
:16:34. > :16:35.there. I would have loved to have heard their conversation during the
:16:36. > :17:04.breaks, especially the last one. He is really on the edge now. Two
:17:05. > :17:23.points for Querrey on his serve .Mac --...
:17:24. > :17:40.Whatever happens, Querrey will have a match point on his own delivery.
:17:41. > :17:52.But he is one against the two-time defending champion, the number one
:17:53. > :17:57.seed. Mr Querrey is challenging the call. Probably just to buy himself a
:17:58. > :18:17.little extra time. It has been over a year since
:18:18. > :18:18.anybody was able to beat tempter go. -- to be Djokovic at a major
:18:19. > :18:43.championships. He has done it! Massive victory for
:18:44. > :18:50.Sam Querrey, massive shock for Wimbledon.
:18:51. > :18:55.There will be no Novak Djokovic in the second week at Wimbledon, it is
:18:56. > :19:06.all about Sam Querrey. It is incredible, especially here, I
:19:07. > :19:11.am so happy, that is about it! It is not just a matter of seeding, he
:19:12. > :19:16.holds all the Grand Slams, he has not gone out in the third round
:19:17. > :19:22.since 2009. How did you do it where others could not? I played the break
:19:23. > :19:26.point is really well. Every time I had one, I came up with a big serve,
:19:27. > :19:31.and in the end I thought in the tie-breaker and got a couple of his
:19:32. > :19:38.errors, and that was it. A very happy Sam Querrey, it is 1091
:19:39. > :19:47.days since Novak Djokovic lost here, it is staggering. It is momentous.
:19:48. > :19:53.What went wrong? He was not himself, and Sam Querrey played well, he is a
:19:54. > :19:54.good grass court player, and very uncomfortable to play against when
:19:55. > :20:05.he is serving that well. Novak Djokovic had 12 break point in
:20:06. > :20:10.that set, Querrey served seven aces. He won just one of the 12. A lot of
:20:11. > :20:23.them were flat-out aces from Querrey. That can happen. Sometimes
:20:24. > :20:28.you are unlucky, typically Novak Djokovic will find a way, but he was
:20:29. > :20:32.not returning well. He was off, there is no doubt. Do you think
:20:33. > :20:39.there was something wrong with him? He did not look healthy. He did not
:20:40. > :20:43.look right. I don't know how much of it is nerves or if something is
:20:44. > :20:47.going on that we don't know about. Today was about service and nerves,
:20:48. > :20:52.Sam Querrey served amazingly well, and nerves were part of it. Novak
:20:53. > :20:58.Djokovic was playing very careful behold tournament, going for his
:20:59. > :21:02.shots much more in the French Open, with more pressure, but history got
:21:03. > :21:05.to him, and maybe there was something wrong with his body as
:21:06. > :21:07.well. But all credit to Sam Querrey, they both played their worst tennis
:21:08. > :21:18.in the fourth set. Novak Djokovic needed to get fed
:21:19. > :21:25.early. He had break points, he could not do it. His timing seemed to be
:21:26. > :21:29.out, he was spraying balls long and wide, into the net, he was not
:21:30. > :21:32.feeling it. It looked as if he could not get into the zone that we see so
:21:33. > :21:38.many times with great champions. There was no flow, and even when you
:21:39. > :21:44.felt he was starting to build momentum, it would go away. It is
:21:45. > :21:48.not easy against somebody serving rockets, 31 aces, he was getting
:21:49. > :21:53.less impact and aggression from his serve, but when we look at Novak
:21:54. > :21:56.Djokovic, we say what a great return of serve he is, one of the best we
:21:57. > :22:02.have seen, and even that was a bit off. Players need momentum over a
:22:03. > :22:06.period of time, that is what he often does, and Andy Murray, you
:22:07. > :22:13.start to read the serve and get rhythm on it. The rain delays did
:22:14. > :22:21.not help. Djokovic was not getting points on the serve. Everything was
:22:22. > :22:28.a bit off. These are the second serve placements, pretty safe. A
:22:29. > :22:33.couple that he went for that went wide, but they are in the of
:22:34. > :22:41.Querrey. Djokovic is not so comfortable at the net. When he goes
:22:42. > :22:46.off, he can go off. He is so good at what he does, when his timing is not
:22:47. > :22:51.right, he becomes a bit average. We have not seen it very often, but he
:22:52. > :22:55.does not have a massive serve to rely on, getting into the net, or
:22:56. > :23:03.the bluff. He has just had a bad day. When a player is having an off
:23:04. > :23:08.day, normally you would expect him to pull the margins in a bit, but on
:23:09. > :23:11.down the hatches, go for a bit more safety and when some of the longer
:23:12. > :23:16.points, and that was not happening today. Normally that is good enough
:23:17. > :23:21.against somebody like Sam Querrey, but it was an off day for him. The
:23:22. > :23:27.biggest question is, why did he have an off day? This was asked at the
:23:28. > :23:31.press conference, let's see the way he dealt with the questions.
:23:32. > :23:42.You are 100% healthy? Not really, but it is not the place and time to
:23:43. > :23:48.talk about it. The opponent was playing on a very high level. We saw
:23:49. > :23:55.with the practising this morning, you did not seem to be yourself.
:23:56. > :24:02.What was your thinking? I don't want to talk about it. Please respect
:24:03. > :24:09.that. Thankfully I have a family and I have a life side of tennis, plenty
:24:10. > :24:13.of things to look forward to. I will pay more attention to those things
:24:14. > :24:18.than tennis in the next period, and I needed to, it has been a very
:24:19. > :24:25.successful year so far, but very long and exhausting, in every sense.
:24:26. > :24:29.I just need some rest. Maybe there is the key, I went to
:24:30. > :24:33.that press conference, he was keen not to take anything away from Sam
:24:34. > :24:38.Querrey, he said he was the better player, but maybe that is it, he has
:24:39. > :24:44.won everything, he has had a long year. It is key related, he never
:24:45. > :24:49.got away from the pressure. Getting into the Grand Slam, for in a row,
:24:50. > :24:54.he never could relax. When he is off, he misses by a bit, but he
:24:55. > :25:01.missed by so much, we are used to such precision, today he could not
:25:02. > :25:06.find the court. It is key minute of pressure and attention, it never
:25:07. > :25:09.leaves you until you retire. Even during the year you have some
:25:10. > :25:14.relaxation time, but when you are on such a streak, you never get it.
:25:15. > :25:19.What about Sam Querrey, he plays Nicolas Mahut next, the oldest first
:25:20. > :25:27.time in the last 16 at Wimbledon, at 34. Can Sam Querrey go on? Quite
:25:28. > :25:34.possibly. They are both good grass court players. Very dangerous, big
:25:35. > :25:40.serves, they play similar. Looking at Querrey, the champions are
:25:41. > :25:45.susceptible in the early part of the tournament. That is what happened
:25:46. > :25:52.with Djokovic, he lost to a good player, who had a hot match.
:25:53. > :25:58.Naturally, it is a from the French Open, he tried hard to win that, and
:25:59. > :26:03.he was really wound up a lot during the clay-court season, and Rome and
:26:04. > :26:09.other tournaments, and when he won it, he has come here and it has just
:26:10. > :26:16.got to. It is a lot. It leaves a big gap in that drawer, could Milos
:26:17. > :26:21.Raonic take advantage? He has just beaten Jack Sock.
:26:22. > :26:30.Milos Raonic at the far end. That only just missed from Jack Sock.
:26:31. > :26:37.Milos Raonic from Canada, with John McEnroe giving him some advice, but
:26:38. > :26:42.not permanently, he served 27 aces, and he goes into the last 16. We
:26:43. > :26:47.have had various stories of players who nearly retired but have come
:26:48. > :26:52.back. The latest is John Millman of Australia, he is now into the top 70
:26:53. > :26:58.again, he was the third round opponent for Andy Murray.
:26:59. > :27:03.The world number two Andy Marie, a third outing on Centre Court, having
:27:04. > :27:10.seen off his previous opponents there. He has not dropped a set. The
:27:11. > :27:15.Australian John Millman almost gave up the game in 2014. Shoulder
:27:16. > :27:19.surgery saw him miss 14 months, every which time he worked in
:27:20. > :27:23.finance. Would he have enough in the bank to give Andy Murray some
:27:24. > :27:30.interest? He has got the look of Peter Crouch
:27:31. > :27:34.about him. Andy Murray went a break-up in the second set, only to
:27:35. > :27:41.drop serve a at around the time the Novak Djokovic score came up.
:27:42. > :27:57.He has already say -- saved a couple of break points in this game.
:27:58. > :28:10.He has missed it. Mr Millman is challenging the call. He did a good
:28:11. > :28:20.job of making himself appear bigger at the net and perhaps he was.
:28:21. > :28:26.Another break point for Murray, he drew Millman to the net, that was
:28:27. > :28:45.purely intentional. Millman a little unsure what to do at the net.
:28:46. > :28:59.Millman will challenge. Andy is not happy that the umpire has given
:29:00. > :29:05.Millman the chance to challenge. He felt as though it was too long in
:29:06. > :29:26.coming, but he has another chance to break the Australian's serve.
:29:27. > :29:37.He is just creating a highlight show for us.
:29:38. > :30:04.85 mile an hour backhand, just as we pictured it!
:30:05. > :30:11.He does just like that one layer at the net that the best players have,
:30:12. > :30:15.they are so complete, so many ways to hurt you. Reluctant to make a
:30:16. > :30:33.move towards the net. Break point number four.
:30:34. > :30:40.The ground are world-class. He's hanging tough. Murray is bound to be
:30:41. > :30:46.frustrated here because Millman is making him hit so many shots. When
:30:47. > :30:49.it comes to Millman at the net use more of a handshake player, the only
:30:50. > :30:54.time he wants to be at the net is shaking hands after the match. He's
:30:55. > :31:37.not the first, he won't be the last. That's fantastic. A wry smile from
:31:38. > :31:41.Jason. As he delivers a beautiful volley here, it must be said,
:31:42. > :31:50.shortened the court, giving Murray no play on it. You see that? I can
:31:51. > :32:08.volley! You're right, you are absolutely right.
:32:09. > :32:19.Still has more work in front of him. Murray just gliding in. We know how
:32:20. > :32:21.soft his hands are. He's going to need a bed at the changeover, not a
:32:22. > :33:07.chair. Good-looking shot. He had a lot of
:33:08. > :33:09.time to think about what to do with it as well. Didn't have a lot of
:33:10. > :33:26.pace on it to work with. He ran out of resistance, did
:33:27. > :33:40.Millman. What a game of tennis. Murray and his team delighted with
:33:41. > :33:42.that, his advantage restored. He duly wrapped up the second set on
:33:43. > :33:46.his serve. We join again at the beginning of
:33:47. > :34:08.the third set. COMMENTATOR: Already brilliant
:34:09. > :34:13.purpose. Once again he has gone out wide. Areola to do that now. --
:34:14. > :35:27.Murray alert to that now. Millman just asking for
:35:28. > :35:31.confirmation. The chair umpire not telling him it was clear enough to
:35:32. > :35:40.be definitively out. Here comes the challenge. Should have seen that one
:35:41. > :36:02.a little better. Mr Millman has two challenges remaining.
:36:03. > :36:09.He's certainly decided to play the opening game of this third set
:36:10. > :36:12.inside the baseline, Murray, hasn't he? Very aggressive core position
:36:13. > :36:50.from the world number two. Millman takes a nice spill. Looks to
:36:51. > :36:56.be OK. Murray seems determined not to engage in those 20 plus shot
:36:57. > :37:05.rallies as Millman reaches for his right hip.
:37:06. > :37:11.When he says the Argentinian, he had some horrible physical problems,
:37:12. > :37:17.cramping on the court. At 5-0 he had to retire. Millman was the first to
:37:18. > :37:27.offer him salt, tablets, everything else.
:37:28. > :37:34.It's been a year of extremes in the majors, weather-wise so far.
:37:35. > :37:40.Australia and Inferno in the first week of this year. -- Australia and
:37:41. > :37:46.Inferno. Going to be a break point chance for
:37:47. > :37:57.Murray here. Subtle brilliance from Murray
:37:58. > :37:59.because he really managed to get plenty of pace on what was a very
:38:00. > :38:24.low, awkward volley. Murray broke again and this is him
:38:25. > :38:28.at 5-2, serving it out with his eighth ace of the match. It lasted
:38:29. > :38:38.two hours and 11 minutes. Andy Murray marches on.
:38:39. > :38:47.There were some tough moment at the end of the second set, the 5-5 game
:38:48. > :38:50.was a really long game. Both of us had opportunities there and a lot of
:38:51. > :38:55.long points, though physically it was testing at that period of the
:38:56. > :39:00.match, managed to get through it. Third set I played some really good
:39:01. > :39:05.stuff. Andy Murray into the fourth round where he will meet either
:39:06. > :39:09.Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Feliciano Lopez. Their match has just been
:39:10. > :39:14.called off on Court One, it stands at 1-1 set, but light is fading.
:39:15. > :39:18.There is still play on Court Two, they don't have so much of the
:39:19. > :39:26.stadium, so fewer shadows to deal with. You can see John Isner is due-
:39:27. > :39:33.one -- two set up against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Trying to break
:39:34. > :39:37.serve to take that third set, looks like it's going to a tie-break.
:39:38. > :39:41.Masses of people still on the hill watching the game. TV cameras make
:39:42. > :39:45.it look lighter but it's very dark, difficult for them to see, they want
:39:46. > :39:49.to try and get as much tennis played as they possibly can. What do we
:39:50. > :39:52.think about the macro Murray was asked immediately after the match
:39:53. > :39:57.about the impact of Djokovic being out. He said, I don't have to worry
:39:58. > :40:01.about that until Sunday week. Well, Novak Djokovic going out of the
:40:02. > :40:04.tournament I think is sad for the tournament because we love to see
:40:05. > :40:08.the number one player, he's won so many Grand Slams in a row. There was
:40:09. > :40:12.not one single player in the men's draw shedding a tear to night. Novak
:40:13. > :40:17.Djokovic out of the tournament makes it a lot easier to win. Murray's
:40:18. > :40:25.right, he'll worry about that later, taking it one match at a time. Deep
:40:26. > :40:28.down all the guys will be going... In a macro Serena Williams losing in
:40:29. > :40:33.the women, everybody thinks they have a chance. Novak... Everybody
:40:34. > :40:38.thinks they have a chance and they do. The only tiny wobble was
:40:39. > :40:42.roundabout that time the Djokovic score came up on the screens in the
:40:43. > :40:46.centre, he doesn't miss most Andy Murray, you can see from the
:40:47. > :40:54.reaction of his mother, Judy, how much of an impact it had, they all
:40:55. > :40:58.knew what it meant. It brought a huge smile on her face, he was
:40:59. > :41:02.definitely impacted, I think. He almost seemed to lose concentration
:41:03. > :41:07.at that point, then became more animated, we saw him looking to his
:41:08. > :41:13.support can quite a bit. I did enjoy watching Millman play, thought he
:41:14. > :41:16.was fantastic, such a gritty, competitive. Great attitude. Someone
:41:17. > :41:20.who loves life, takes the bull by the horns, the fact he'd had
:41:21. > :41:25.shoulder surgery, being of the tour for a while, taken a city job, put a
:41:26. > :41:29.suit on everyday for a period, then come back to tennis, you sense that
:41:30. > :41:32.love of life, loving being on Centre Court and taking on the world number
:41:33. > :41:37.two. He's made life very difficult for Andy. He is one of these guys
:41:38. > :41:40.who has worked his way all the way through, he hasn't had any support
:41:41. > :41:45.from the National Association because he wasn't a top junior, they
:41:46. > :41:48.didn't throw money at him, coaches, he did it the hard way the whole
:41:49. > :41:52.way. It's great to see him come through. He played really well, the
:41:53. > :41:58.second set was a very tight second set. Murray's tennis in the third
:41:59. > :42:07.set was phenomenal, the best I've seen him play by a long way in this
:42:08. > :42:10.tournament. Not ever! This week, the best he's played this week,
:42:11. > :42:17.fantastic. The bestie has played today!
:42:18. > :42:26.Paddy Geary was keeping an eye on the courts and the skies. -- the
:42:27. > :42:28.best he has played today. Even for London Wimbledon is pretty
:42:29. > :42:35.congested, rain jammed the system and continues to cause tennis
:42:36. > :42:40.tailbacks. Centre Court is the fast lane, that's when Simona Halep was,
:42:41. > :42:52.the number five seed puts mind before muscle, placement trumps
:42:53. > :42:54.power. She out thought Kiki Bertens over two sets. At five foot six,
:42:55. > :42:57.Simona Halep knows she is unlikely to blast opponents from the court
:42:58. > :42:59.but with a commanding performance here she may be manoeuvring herself
:43:00. > :43:04.to a position of strength. The assumption was she would face the
:43:05. > :43:09.number nine seed Madison Keys, a fair assumption given the way she
:43:10. > :43:15.cruised through her first set. COMMENTATOR: Wonderful. The
:43:16. > :43:18.Frenchwoman Alize Cornet was a top 20 player as a teenager and you
:43:19. > :43:23.never lose it. She seized back the second, were we on for another
:43:24. > :43:29.shock? Not if Marian Keyes has anything to do with it. She
:43:30. > :43:32.re-entered the world top ten again. American tennis no longer reliant on
:43:33. > :43:40.those with the name Williams. At last year's when the Angelique
:43:41. > :43:46.Kerber saw of her fellow German Carina Witthoeft in less than half
:43:47. > :43:50.an hour. The Australia in open champion won the first set on a
:43:51. > :43:53.tie-break and the second with rather more ease. Perhaps she'll see
:43:54. > :44:01.something of herself and her younger countryman. Reach in her younger
:44:02. > :44:06.countryman will stop another German hope on Court 16 which unfortunately
:44:07. > :44:11.has no roof. One big umbrella over this court. Wimbledon tends to bring
:44:12. > :44:17.the best from her but she was ultimately outclassed on the grass
:44:18. > :44:24.by the world number 96. COMMENTATOR: What a point.
:44:25. > :44:36.So is looking beyond the seeds might have focused their attention is on
:44:37. > :44:44.Eugenia Bouchard. The 19th seed was inspired. She confided in that took
:44:45. > :44:48.her to the final here two years ago. Dominik is a book over's scale is to
:44:49. > :44:53.be able to tell the origin of tennis balls by her scent. One of her
:44:54. > :44:57.special skills. This stuff is more useful, can she is now the title? --
:44:58. > :45:10.Dominika Cibulkova. This was simpler, all over in
:45:11. > :45:17.straight sets. Radwanska is known as the professor. She learns from her
:45:18. > :45:21.mistakes. - a smiling Agnieszka Radwanska, played really well there.
:45:22. > :45:25.Juan Martin Del Potro, one of the stories of this Wimbledon for having
:45:26. > :45:32.knocked out Stan Wawrinka, they've just come off court. That was the
:45:33. > :45:40.score. I think Del Potro was 2-1 sets down. This matches on the red
:45:41. > :45:45.button, they may be coming off for light. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has the
:45:46. > :45:46.advantage, 4-2 ahead against John Isner, whose serve is difficult to
:45:47. > :45:58.break. But a big crowd around that. Let's
:45:59. > :46:01.reflect on two time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, one of the
:46:02. > :46:06.few players who suffered because of rain delays. She had a second-round
:46:07. > :46:32.match to complete. She was against bigotry and Rover. -- she was up
:46:33. > :46:40.against Makarova. COMMENTATOR: She has to put pressure on Makarova,
:46:41. > :46:48.it's just not happening. She has a history of losing matches she should
:46:49. > :46:58.win. Quarterfinalist here a couple of years ago when she beat
:46:59. > :47:00.Radwanska. And lost to Safarova. That was a case in point. She's
:47:01. > :47:46.three points away from a huge win. Well played. Much simpler when the
:47:47. > :47:50.first served goes in. The way she has been out here this afternoon and
:47:51. > :47:54.yesterday, she's been fractionally better today than yesterday, you
:47:55. > :47:59.wouldn't trust her to hit a barn door from five paces, would you?
:48:00. > :48:28.These two serves could do the trick for Makarova.
:48:29. > :48:39.There are the nerves. Six to four miles an hour. Reach 64. No velocity
:48:40. > :48:41.all. There is the coach, she's seen it before. Maybe suspected it would
:48:42. > :48:59.happen again. Just enough stability there. Here is
:49:00. > :49:31.match point for Makarova. She's got it! A massive win.
:49:32. > :49:51.APPLAUSE STUDIO: We will reflect on that
:49:52. > :49:55.defeat for Petra Kvitova in a moment. The news from Court Two is
:49:56. > :49:59.that Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has taken the third set, he won the tie-break,
:50:00. > :50:04.though he is 2-1 down against John Isner, looks very much like they are
:50:05. > :50:09.coming off for light. It's one of the bonus matches you will get
:50:10. > :50:19.tomorrow. You'll also get good jobs against Lopez, which is 1-1. Del
:50:20. > :50:22.Potro is indeed 2-1 down against Pouille. All of the tickets are
:50:23. > :50:26.gone, they were applied for online and all went in half an hour. Crit
:50:27. > :50:33.of is gone, discuss it. Not surprised, she's had a lousy year.
:50:34. > :50:37.-- Petra Kvitova is gone. She's gone through personal troubles and
:50:38. > :50:43.engaged to be married and broke it off, don't know what happened. And
:50:44. > :50:47.broke up with her coach of a long time. Too many things going on for
:50:48. > :50:51.her. I saw her in the locker room, she's going to take a mini vacation,
:50:52. > :50:55.a few days, a week would be better. We'll see, she'll recover, I hope.
:50:56. > :50:59.She's healthy so that's good. Hopefully she can get the game
:51:00. > :51:05.together because when her game flows it's a beauty to watch, hope she
:51:06. > :51:10.gets it back on course. There are only two women's champions left in
:51:11. > :51:15.the draw, both called Williams. They both had very tough matches
:51:16. > :51:18.yesterday but I have to say, yeah, so impressive is Venus Williams who
:51:19. > :51:22.at 36 is back inside the top ten again, quite extraordinaire it when
:51:23. > :51:28.you consider all the problems health-wise she had on the tour.
:51:29. > :51:33.Absolutely loves being out there. Serena Williams looks fitter than
:51:34. > :51:36.I'd ever seen her. Since the loss at the French Open it feels like she's
:51:37. > :51:41.been out there putting working at the gym, on the track, she's turned
:51:42. > :51:46.up here fully motivated and raring to go. Just a bit of extra zip in
:51:47. > :51:52.her step. She had to dig deep for her last win. It took until three
:51:53. > :51:56.8pm for the second round of the Men's Singles to be completed. It
:51:57. > :52:05.finally was when 19-year-old Alex and at Zverev finished off Michal
:52:06. > :52:15.Youzhny. -- Alexander Zverev. Zverev is the guy who knocked Roger Federer
:52:16. > :52:19.out of Halle, he has a big following.
:52:20. > :52:27.Unsubtle disguise lead to unsubtle schedules. The elements have played
:52:28. > :52:32.tricks with time. When they had hoped to rest, some must work. Marin
:52:33. > :52:36.Cilic may have banged on having a day off but the rain yesterday meant
:52:37. > :52:41.he had to come back to finish off Lukas Lacko. More rain was looming.
:52:42. > :52:44.He grabbed the set he needed quickly. Hitting 19 aces in the
:52:45. > :52:50.match, all done before the inevitable return. Conditions were
:52:51. > :52:52.the only thing holding up Kei Nishikori and company,
:52:53. > :53:02.beat Andrey Kuznetsov at the French Open in straight sets, so again
:53:03. > :53:09.here. He takes form into his meeting with Cilic. Could this be the
:53:10. > :53:13.Nishikori story? In a week of being at the mercy of nature, another
:53:14. > :53:17.hold-up from the skies on court 18. We're here for a bit of fun, are we?
:53:18. > :53:22.Eventually the wagtail joined everybody else in watching the good
:53:23. > :53:28.drop in full flight. In consumer style he took the first set. --
:53:29. > :53:33.consumer style. American Steve Johnson recently won his first ATP
:53:34. > :53:39.event on the grass at Nottingham. He won the next two sets, forcing the
:53:40. > :53:46.match from Dimitrov's grasp. Johnson, the world number 29, was
:53:47. > :53:52.dominant. He is true but must now square up against Federer.
:53:53. > :53:54.Correction map he is through. We are now all examining the draw because
:53:55. > :54:02.everybody is going, what's going to happen? Alexander Zverev, exciting
:54:03. > :54:06.young player, is this a year he could go deep in the tournament?
:54:07. > :54:11.Quite possibly, he maybe a little early at this stage, think about him
:54:12. > :54:14.getting all the way through semifinals and finals, he's one of
:54:15. > :54:21.the future. There are a few men who are there. You would almost say he's
:54:22. > :54:24.a boy but he's 19, six foot six. Boy, does Deepak Narwal on the
:54:25. > :54:36.shots, some exciting players. Dominic Thiem. -- boy, does he pack
:54:37. > :54:44.a wallop. We are looking towards Thessaly. You wonder what happened
:54:45. > :54:48.to Dimitrov. -- Vesely. John Lloyd was in the office, he says he
:54:49. > :54:54.flatters to deceive, Dimitrov, looks brilliant but doesn't go through
:54:55. > :54:58.with it. The first name through to the fourth round a good sit there
:54:59. > :55:03.going I could have a weekend off, that was Roger Federer. How much
:55:04. > :55:09.does all of this play into whose hands? I was thinking, does Roger
:55:10. > :55:13.care? I'm not sure he does but certainly all his fans do, so they
:55:14. > :55:19.are dancing a jig because now watch had, to me, a comfortable looking
:55:20. > :55:25.draw towards the semifinal. Novak Djokovic, where he was going to be,
:55:26. > :55:28.now he won't. This could be the year, who knows? It's a wide-open
:55:29. > :55:33.field and Roger is looking better and better with each match. He was
:55:34. > :55:36.lacking match experience going into this tournament, the last few months
:55:37. > :55:42.he has been injured, most of the year. But now he's fresh, he's
:55:43. > :55:46.healthy. Novak is out. What will Roger Federer do this weekend,
:55:47. > :55:50.Annabel? He's always incredibly relaxed, isn't he? Some of the other
:55:51. > :55:54.players Armitage Ellis about planning. I'm sure he's meticulous
:55:55. > :55:57.but he has a family, they are travelling with him, he'll spend a
:55:58. > :56:02.lot of time with his family. He'll put aside time on the practice court
:56:03. > :56:07.and prepared. I'm sure there's a lot of treatment going on with his body.
:56:08. > :56:11.As we know, he had that knee operation, the first operation he'd
:56:12. > :56:15.ever had in his career. An extremely unfortunate situation. I think it
:56:16. > :56:20.had a knock on effect, brought out an old back injury. He's played so
:56:21. > :56:23.little tennis coming into these Championships, the least he must
:56:24. > :56:28.have played in many years, six events before coming to Wimbledon.
:56:29. > :56:31.It felt as if his movement was more cautious around the court, and I
:56:32. > :56:35.felt like that last round against Dan Evans, he was just starting to
:56:36. > :56:40.flow a little bit better and starting to trust his body that much
:56:41. > :56:44.more. Then he'll kick into gear and all those memories he has out there,
:56:45. > :56:48.it is domain on Centre Court, so many wonderful memories. Interesting
:56:49. > :56:52.talking to down today, I said what was it like playing Federer on
:56:53. > :56:57.Centre Court? He's a fantastic, you expect it him to serve well. His
:56:58. > :57:00.returns were phenomenal, could not believe his returning. That's the
:57:01. > :57:07.key, we know Roger will serve well. He's moving brilliantly. Returning.
:57:08. > :57:10.That for me is the secret. We had a quick conversation about the women's
:57:11. > :57:16.championship and where you think it stands. After we look at shot of the
:57:17. > :57:19.day from Madison Keys in her match against Alize Cornet. Towards the
:57:20. > :57:23.end of the match. It's a great rally. For power and accuracy,
:57:24. > :57:29.Madison Keys up the far end. It's not that one, unfortunately. But it
:57:30. > :57:35.was a great backhand down the line, we'll try to find it for you. It was
:57:36. > :57:41.a big bomb and a big point. It was, that's a shame. Madison Keys? If I
:57:42. > :57:45.gave you a short list... Disney four contenders for the women's title
:57:46. > :57:50.outside Serena Williams. I was going to say Serena Williams. -- Disney
:57:51. > :57:53.four contenders. Madison has a shotgun at her best she can content
:57:54. > :57:59.with anybody. Agnieszka Radwanska must be feeling good about her
:58:00. > :58:02.chances, getting into the semis. Might meet Serena Williams. Simona
:58:03. > :58:06.Halep looked the best I've seen her look in a long time. I did an
:58:07. > :58:10.interview with her, I asked, where you excited about all the athletes
:58:11. > :58:14.sitting in the Royal box? She was. I think she was on her best behaviour
:58:15. > :58:19.because you can't misbehave. She needs to be nicer to herself, she
:58:20. > :58:23.knows that, if she can keep her head like she did today, she moves so
:58:24. > :58:29.well, she knows what he needs to do. Outside chance perhaps. It could be
:58:30. > :58:33.her time. She has plenty experience, she seems mature on court, can
:58:34. > :58:37.follow through if she has too. Thanks so much for your company,
:58:38. > :58:42.Annabel Croft, Pat Cash, Martina Navratilova. You can join Sue Barker
:58:43. > :58:47.from 11:15am on BBC Two, coverage on BBC One as well, as Wimbledon enjoys
:58:48. > :58:52.a People's Sunday for the first time in 12 years. A lot of strange things
:58:53. > :58:55.have been happening at this year's Championships, non-so strange as the
:58:56. > :59:04.departure of the defending champion. Good night. Gretchen
:59:05. > :59:09.This is as good as it gets right here -
:59:10. > :59:14.open roads, blue skies, one of history's most iconic muscle cars.
