:00:45. > :00:53.The what a thriller we just heard on Centre Court. Everybody biting
:00:54. > :00:57.you're nails. Tim Henman beside me. Lons to analyse. Let's reflect on
:00:58. > :01:04.our Andy Murray won that match against Fognini without it going
:01:05. > :01:10.into a fifth set. He had to say five set points. He finally clinched it
:01:11. > :01:18.in the fourth set. He looked in pain at times. But Fognini is out. Andy
:01:19. > :01:22.Murray is through. Let's get his reaction, he has just been speaking
:01:23. > :01:28.courtside. Congratulations. An outstanding
:01:29. > :01:31.match for everybody watching. What are you feeling, pride, relief, a
:01:32. > :01:41.combination of everything? The end of the match was tense. Maybe four
:01:42. > :01:48.set points there. And then a tight game to break him, as well, at the
:01:49. > :01:54.5-5 game. Then, yes, I served it out well to finish. But it was up and
:01:55. > :02:00.down. I didn't feel it was the best tennis at times. It was tense today.
:02:01. > :02:04.I managed to get through. You stayed strong in the critical moments. Can
:02:05. > :02:07.you describe to the people at home how difficult that is to do mentally
:02:08. > :02:13.and physically when you are faced with such danger from a player like
:02:14. > :02:17.Fabio Fognini? It obviously difficult. When you are playing a
:02:18. > :02:24.guy who has all of the shops it's difficult. He generates power with
:02:25. > :02:29.very short swings. -- shots. It's difficult to see when he was going
:02:30. > :02:33.to hit the ball big. It was also getting dark towards the end. We
:02:34. > :02:40.probably would have had to come off and closed the roof had I lost. We
:02:41. > :02:45.were thinking about that as well. A change of conditions, a 20 minute
:02:46. > :02:50.break to change things and get ready. How was the body feeling
:02:51. > :02:54.after that titanic tussle? I am feeling OK. I did not feel like I
:02:55. > :02:58.moved as one as I did in the first couple of matches. But I have a
:02:59. > :03:03.couple of days to have a rest. Where I can work on that. You know, and
:03:04. > :03:07.hopefully get myself into good rhythm over the weekend. Come out
:03:08. > :03:12.and play good tennis on Monday. Happy to get through the first week.
:03:13. > :03:19.Anything can happen now. Enjoy your weekend. Well done. Thanks. I don't
:03:20. > :03:24.know how much he will be able to enjoy his weekend. But we can rest
:03:25. > :03:29.easy. Tim, you were watching that, what did you think what's going on?
:03:30. > :03:34.Tough battle. As Andy said, he wasn't playing his best. At times he
:03:35. > :03:39.wasn't allowed. Fabio Fognini is such a talented baseline player. He
:03:40. > :03:46.can generate a lot of power on the forehand. He was using the change of
:03:47. > :03:49.pace on the backhand was the slice. Andy can get through even when he
:03:50. > :03:53.isn't playing his best. But there was great tennis. In the context of
:03:54. > :03:57.this tournament, Andy playing the first match on Monday, to play
:03:58. > :04:01.Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and be through to the second week, it is
:04:02. > :04:06.ideal he has two days off now. He did a lot of running. Fognini was
:04:07. > :04:13.trying to dictate. Murray was still able to run him down. Yes, Andy said
:04:14. > :04:18.his movement perhaps hasn't been his best, but, you know, he is still
:04:19. > :04:27.moving plenty well enough to be a contender for the title. There were
:04:28. > :04:29.times when he looked sore. He could not run, it looked ridiculous, but
:04:30. > :04:36.he finds a way. He is an unbelievable competitor. He is going
:04:37. > :04:40.to need to play better, as well. Rafael Nadal's performance today was
:04:41. > :04:43.fantastic. But what and is doing and what he did at the French Open, he
:04:44. > :04:47.didn't come into the French in great form, but he found a way to get
:04:48. > :04:51.through to the semifinals. He was one game away from the final. This
:04:52. > :04:56.is no different. Not playing as best as he can. But he's still the
:04:57. > :04:59.tournament. You can certainly lose the tournament in the first week. He
:05:00. > :05:02.has a couple of days to get the balance right with rest and
:05:03. > :05:05.recuperation. But also to work on a few things. Come Monday he has to
:05:06. > :05:13.hit the ground running. Let us wrap up as much as we can. We
:05:14. > :05:19.move from the men's number one to the women's number one. Johanna
:05:20. > :05:26.Konta was in action earlier on, against the world 101, Sakkari of
:05:27. > :05:34.Greece. Jo started pretty well. Her first set point here. And Konta
:05:35. > :05:38.looking very, very strong against Sakkari. Now she is the bookies'
:05:39. > :05:41.favourite. Even if she has been avoiding the press, she's been told
:05:42. > :05:47.it enough in press conferences. She knows it. But she says that pressure
:05:48. > :05:54.is self-imposed. She tries to keep herself calm. She tries to keep her
:05:55. > :05:58.mind light, she says. Let's pick it up again, closing stages of the
:05:59. > :06:18.second set, we hope. Let's rejoin our commentators.
:06:19. > :06:25.You've got to give cred tight this young lady -- credit to this young
:06:26. > :06:27.lady as well. She could have just disappeared emotionally. Gritty
:06:28. > :06:34.performance, hanging in there. Well, she's on court one and she's
:06:35. > :06:44.going to stay here as long as pob. -- possible.
:06:45. > :06:53.Such a strong shot from Konta down-the-line there. Her
:06:54. > :07:17.positioning, she holds the baseline, doesn't give up the real estate.
:07:18. > :07:23.Forehand, backhand, it's all the same.
:07:24. > :07:30.Big shots, and a big moment for Jo Konta. An opportunity here to get
:07:31. > :08:01.into the second week of Wimbledon for the first time in her career.
:08:02. > :08:14.Jo Konta, three down, four to go! To end four years of you know what.
:08:15. > :08:21.Let us hear what Jo Konta felt about her performance today. I feel
:08:22. > :08:25.actually quite honestly blessed that I got to play two matches on court
:08:26. > :08:30.one and a really great battle on Centre Court. I got to play on the
:08:31. > :08:34.two biggest stages in the world. I feel humbled by that and also very
:08:35. > :08:38.excited to have come through some really tough matches and have given
:08:39. > :08:43.myself a chance to come back and play on Monday. It's been an
:08:44. > :08:46.interesting first week, Pliskova, who won Eastbourne and Kvitova twice
:08:47. > :08:53.a champion here, are out. How do you rate the competition ahead in the
:08:54. > :08:56.second week? Just as difficult. I think it's been proven time and time
:08:57. > :09:01.again the depth in women's tennis. Every single woman in the draw can
:09:02. > :09:05.play at a very high level on Any Given Day. I'm fully prepared for
:09:06. > :09:09.every single match that I'm going to be playing, that it's going to be a
:09:10. > :09:12.tough battle. She's so sensible and practical in her approach. You know
:09:13. > :09:16.what it's like to suddenly have the cameras on you, all the reporters
:09:17. > :09:20.asking you questions. How does she deal with it? She deals with it very
:09:21. > :09:25.well. I think she's showing her experience when you listen to her
:09:26. > :09:28.there, she's got a wise head. She's not getting distracted. She's not
:09:29. > :09:31.getting ahead of herself. She appreciates the deeper into the
:09:32. > :09:34.tournament she goes the tougher the challenges will be. She's been
:09:35. > :09:39.playing so well for a long period of time. This year he's made great
:09:40. > :09:43.strides, winning in Miami. The matches she's talked about, to have
:09:44. > :09:46.that big win on Centre Court, where she played fantastically well
:09:47. > :09:52.against Vekic. There was no let down. A big court today and produced
:09:53. > :09:58.another very good performance. Like-wise with Murray she's got a
:09:59. > :10:02.couple of days to regroup and get ready. When it comes to the lift in
:10:03. > :10:07.attention, can you go through the weekend not listening to the radio
:10:08. > :10:10.or watching the telly? Pretty much, it's not obviously easy when you are
:10:11. > :10:12.a home grown player in the biggest tournament in the world. There is a
:10:13. > :10:16.lot of attention that goes with that. But she understands it's about
:10:17. > :10:21.controlling the things you can control. That's preparation and
:10:22. > :10:24.performance. What the bookies are saying, what is being said in the
:10:25. > :10:27.press is meaningless when you're the athlete. You've got to go out there
:10:28. > :10:31.and keep delivering the goods on the court. That's what she's got to
:10:32. > :10:34.focus on. When you hear her speak and obviously, having got to know
:10:35. > :10:38.her a bit, yeah, she's got a good head on her shoulders. She seems to
:10:39. > :10:42.have all the shots. Good movement, good power, do you think her serve
:10:43. > :10:47.is strong enough? Yeah, I was very impressed. I didn't see so much of
:10:48. > :10:51.the match today on court one, but on Centre Court, she hits her spots
:10:52. > :10:54.well. She has a big serve, there's no hitting them if it's straight
:10:55. > :10:58.into the strike zone of your opponents. That's a useful weapon on
:10:59. > :11:04.any surface. On a grass court it's even more important. So she'll be
:11:05. > :11:07.looking to maintain that rhythm. I'm sure she'll practise that over the
:11:08. > :11:11.weekend. As she goes into the second week, it's that combination of big
:11:12. > :11:15.serving, big ground strokes to keep her opponents on the defensive. You
:11:16. > :11:25.can see how she might get to the final, if indeed she does. Garcia
:11:26. > :11:31.next, Williams, Wozniacki. That's the bottom half of the draw. You
:11:32. > :11:36.will hear all the players, men and women saying "I don't look ahead".
:11:37. > :11:40.She'll know who is playing well and who has lost. It is one match at a
:11:41. > :11:45.time. She'll be aware of the opportunities ahead of her.
:11:46. > :11:48.Tim mentioned how impressed he was with Rafael Nadal's performance
:11:49. > :11:55.today. Let's look at some of it. He won the first set easily 6-1. This
:11:56. > :12:06.is him in action in the second. He was up against Chachanov. He looks
:12:07. > :12:11.like a man constantly hungry. He's massively confident. I commentated
:12:12. > :12:16.on this match. So impressive the level he was playing, the shots he
:12:17. > :12:20.was hitting, his foot work and overall consistency and against a
:12:21. > :12:26.dangerous opponent. He's won a lot of sets in the row, on the back of
:12:27. > :12:30.the French Open title, Number Ten. Through to the second week without
:12:31. > :12:35.dropping a set. He'll be happy with how things have gone. Let's hear Tim
:12:36. > :12:37.in commentary and watch a bit more of Rafa in action in the third set
:12:38. > :12:45.tie-break. Oh, second serve, had to be into the
:12:46. > :13:02.court. Three donations in the tie-break.
:13:03. > :13:07.Nadal's hit good shots as well. But he cannot afford to keep making
:13:08. > :13:54.these unforced errors, Chachanov. If you open the door, even slightly,
:13:55. > :13:59.Nadal will barge his way through it. He doesn't miss too many crosscourt
:14:00. > :14:02.passes. Staying low this time and driving through on the forehand as
:14:03. > :14:41.his backhand before. Rafael Nadal advances to Monday's
:14:42. > :14:47.Fourth Round, the last 16. You're going to hear an awful lot more of
:14:48. > :14:52.Chachanov, this Russian 21-year-old who has made his debut here.
:14:53. > :14:56.But not enough artillery to see off Nadal.
:14:57. > :15:02.CHEERING I think I played very, very great,
:15:03. > :15:06.two sets. Then in the third, I slow down a little bit intensity. It was
:15:07. > :15:11.tough. He's a tough opponent. I think I played a solid match in
:15:12. > :15:15.general terms, very happy to be through in the second week here in
:15:16. > :15:19.Wimbledon is fantastic news. I'm enjoying every day. Just two days
:15:20. > :15:21.off now. You had a lot of fans already, but you have even more
:15:22. > :15:29.because they've seen you doing your own shopping. Well, I am doing
:15:30. > :15:35.always at home. Here too. We are in a house here. We are not in a hotel.
:15:36. > :15:39.So we need to buy the things to eat. I love to go. Did you ask a fellow
:15:40. > :15:48.shopper for a bit of help with the self-service? Yeah, in Spain we
:15:49. > :15:55.don't use that very often. We normally pay, yeah... At the till.
:15:56. > :16:01.Yeah. I saw it and it was quick. Some people waiting so I do it and I
:16:02. > :16:05.get lost a little bit. When guy helped me, it was very nice. He's
:16:06. > :16:11.just so lovely. He's brilliant. He is. He's so humble, down to earth.
:16:12. > :16:15.He's 15 times Grand Slam champion but there he is shopping for his
:16:16. > :16:23.groceries in the village. There'll be a few surprised locals. I did ask
:16:24. > :16:30.him how does he think he is now compared to the Rafael Nadal 2008,
:16:31. > :16:33.09, 10? He says he doesn't make those compare sons. He's looking
:16:34. > :16:38.close to his best. I think better than ever. Irrespective of how well
:16:39. > :16:42.he played on the clay this year, coming onto grass, he didn't play a
:16:43. > :16:46.tournament. He's always a little bit susceptible with his knees in the
:16:47. > :16:49.early stages. But the way he's hitting the ground strokes, he's
:16:50. > :16:52.been serving aggressively and because of the hot weather, the
:16:53. > :16:56.courts are definitely harder, the ball is going to bounce a little bit
:16:57. > :17:00.higher. You know, he really fancies his chances. Again, playing the
:17:01. > :17:05.first day on Monday, you get that Monday, Wednesday, Friday, he talked
:17:06. > :17:08.about it there, two days off. Things are falling into place nicely for
:17:09. > :17:13.Rafael Nadal. He might call you for a game of golf. He was in the locker
:17:14. > :17:16.room putting with Tony and Francisco, his stroke was looking
:17:17. > :17:22.pretty good. They were complaining about the carpet as well. Not the
:17:23. > :17:27.best putting surface. Bit of right to left break. He was playing golf
:17:28. > :17:35.last week. I asked if he won. He said, "Yes, of course." Let's look
:17:36. > :17:43.now at Heather Watson. She is the reigning mixed doubles champion. She
:17:44. > :17:47.was up against new mum Victoria Azarenka. At the beginning of this
:17:48. > :17:51.match, it looked like it might be one-way traffic. Heather lost three
:17:52. > :17:54.points in the opening game. That's where we pick it up. Watson is
:17:55. > :18:16.serving Already very early on, but to me,
:18:17. > :18:20.Azarenka looks like she's picking up Heather's serve very easily. Great
:18:21. > :18:21.timing and the distribution of her ground strokes looks a little
:18:22. > :18:43.frightening at the moment. Serve has improved. Yeah, it has. It
:18:44. > :18:46.will be very important to serve well today. Because she's facing one of
:18:47. > :19:04.the best returners in the women's game.
:19:05. > :19:40.Terrific. STUDIO: Watson has a reputation for
:19:41. > :19:45.starting fast. She won that first set 6-3. Azarenka then turned on the
:19:46. > :19:52.after burners and raced through the second set, winning it 6-1 to level
:19:53. > :19:56.things up. We're going to join it in the deciding third set with
:19:57. > :19:58.Azarenka, they've exchanged breaks already. Azarenka serving for the
:19:59. > :20:12.match. I would have loved to see Heather
:20:13. > :20:16.just step inside that court to take that second serve. Azarenka has
:20:17. > :20:20.thrown in quite a few double faults in this match. It's been a while
:20:21. > :20:22.since I've seen her do it. She did it a couple of times in the first
:20:23. > :20:45.set but not lately. At the spin of the coin, the umpire
:20:46. > :20:52.says to the players if you're going to challenge, please do it verbally,
:20:53. > :20:57.and I don't think the umpire saw Heather's arm up to challenge. Now
:20:58. > :21:00.she's saying it's probably too late. There's that, but no verbal
:21:01. > :21:04.challenge. It came late.
:21:05. > :21:13.Too late as far as the umpire was concerned.
:21:14. > :21:17.I wonder if it would have made a difference. It's well in, we are
:21:18. > :21:47.being told. It's long. Azarenka puts a silencer
:21:48. > :21:50.on the crowd. Terrific effort from Heather Watson, ranked outside the
:21:51. > :21:56.top 100. What about Victoria Azarenka? Just her fifth match back.
:21:57. > :22:05.She's booked a place in the second week of Wimbledon again. Champion.
:22:06. > :22:09.In every sense. STUDIO: Really was a tough opponent
:22:10. > :22:12.for Heather Watson. The challenge wouldn't have mattered, because the
:22:13. > :22:15.ball was in. Due feel it was a cased of missed opportunities there for
:22:16. > :22:19.Heather? Yeah, a little bit. Azarenka is a great player, but
:22:20. > :22:23.she's coming back from having her first child. She's probably a bit
:22:24. > :22:28.ring rusty. Heather has been playing great tennis. She made the final at
:22:29. > :22:31.Surbiton. She played well at Eastbourne. This is the level of
:22:32. > :22:36.tennis I expect from her. It's really important she builds on this,
:22:37. > :22:39.because before the grass court season, ranked 126 in the world,
:22:40. > :22:43.that's not where she belongs. She has to make sure she puts in this
:22:44. > :22:47.level of performance and the consistency with the training to get
:22:48. > :22:51.her ranking inside the top 50. That's where she should be. She has
:22:52. > :22:54.a fabulous forehand. Sometimes the forehand works brilliantly well and
:22:55. > :23:00.sometimes then it becomes something maybe she overrelies on. I mean it's
:23:01. > :23:03.probably can be a bit erratic. That shouldn't stop her being aggressive
:23:04. > :23:07.with it. When she's playing well, it's a dangerous shot. It's a good
:23:08. > :23:11.weapon for her. Again, all these different aspects are things she can
:23:12. > :23:14.improve on. That's exciting. If she keeps working and developing those
:23:15. > :23:18.areas, then she can get back into the top 40, top 30 in the world. I
:23:19. > :23:24.mention she is the reigning Mixed Doubles champion. She had to go back
:23:25. > :23:28.out on court, barely an hour later. Bizarrery they were up against
:23:29. > :23:34.Victoria Azarenka playing mixed doubles too. As you can see here,
:23:35. > :23:39.Kontinen and Watson won that match. They go through to the second round
:23:40. > :23:44.of the Mixed Doubles, in which Jamie Murray is playing with Martina
:23:45. > :23:49.Hingis. That's an exciting pairing. Victoria Azarenka, after that
:23:50. > :23:53.doubles match, said this: REPORTER: How much are you enjoying
:23:54. > :23:58.being in the heat of battle once again at a Grand Slam and at
:23:59. > :24:05.Wimbledon? Very much so. I think a match like today really is important
:24:06. > :24:10.for me to have. The early stages of me playing again, and to find a way
:24:11. > :24:13.to win, not necessarily when everything works on a particular
:24:14. > :24:18.day. I'm very happy I went through that, playing on Centre Court
:24:19. > :24:22.obviously is always a pleasure. How are you combining being a top tennis
:24:23. > :24:27.player and a mum at a major event like this? It's pretty tough. But
:24:28. > :24:32.it's also so fun, you know. It's something that is more meaningful
:24:33. > :24:37.than any tennis match ever will be, also at the same time, for me to be
:24:38. > :24:43.able to chase my dreams and go after what I love and do it every day,
:24:44. > :24:47.it's also very special. STUDIO: Victoria Azarenka will now
:24:48. > :24:51.play Simona Halep in the Fourth Round. If you were watching Murray
:24:52. > :24:57.earlier his mum Judy arrived late to watch his match. It's because she
:24:58. > :25:03.was watching Jamie Murray and sadly Jamie and Bruno Suarez, such a
:25:04. > :25:11.success in the doubles, went out 7-5 in the fifth set. Jamie now just has
:25:12. > :25:17.the Mixed Doubles to rely on. A real shame there. Massive crowd had staid
:25:18. > :25:20.to watch on court 18. Aljaz Bedene, we thought maybe, he's been playing
