:01:25. > :01:38.Hello. Good evening. I nearly knocked Clyde over. Do not do that.

:01:43. > :01:52.try and get through swimming, athletics, gymnastics, mountain

:01:53. > :02:00.biking. Wrestling. It is also the final night of the swimming. So we

:02:01. > :02:06.have made them a special cocktail. Splash in the pool, that is the

:02:07. > :02:16.name. Look at who was enjoying it. My fellow presenters. Sharron Davies

:02:17. > :02:25.is also on her way down, they are all coming. This is a full party. --

:02:26. > :02:31.people party. We have as many gold-medallists as we can. -- a

:02:32. > :02:42.swimming pool party. Sebastian Proedl and Daley Thompson will also

:02:43. > :02:43.be here, along with Beth Tweddle. -- Sebastien Coe. And you can put your

:02:44. > :02:59.questions to our guests. They love you, Marko. Let's get

:03:00. > :03:09.started with the sport, dive right in and begin with swimming.

:03:10. > :03:16.The final of the women's 400m freestyle.

:03:17. > :03:22.It is all to play for! Lauren Boyle starting to push ahead.

:03:23. > :03:28.Can Jazz Carlin comeback? The Gold is gas -- the Gold is definitely

:03:29. > :03:34.going to Lauren Boyle of New Zealand. Silver to Jazz Carlin. No

:03:35. > :03:43.doubt about the champion. Then proud, 19, a new dish record --

:03:44. > :03:48.Benjamin Proud. -- British record. A very quick start and Benjamin

:03:49. > :03:53.Proud is using a lot of the 15 metres underwater, all the way, but

:03:54. > :03:58.the Australians are coming back into macro. In five, Benjamin Proud is

:03:59. > :04:07.getting the touch. He has got it. Gold, Benjamin Proud, England.

:04:08. > :04:15.The final of the women's 50 metres backstroke and the fastest women in

:04:16. > :04:25.the Commonwealth in the centre. It might be Davies and Lauren Quigley.

:04:26. > :04:28.Davies gets the Gold and Lauren Quigley gets the silver. Gold to

:04:29. > :04:45.Davies of Wales, brilliant! Look at this. The men's 200 m

:04:46. > :04:52.individual Relay and one of the hardest races at this Commonwealth

:04:53. > :04:57.Games. Chad le Clos in the lead. Australia are leading. Wallace is

:04:58. > :05:04.coming back, he will not live up on the silver medal in the May well get

:05:05. > :05:06.it. -- Wup. He has got the silver, wonderful stuff from Dan Wallace!

:05:07. > :05:20.Look at that! A very good start as expected,

:05:21. > :05:25.Sophie Papps go of New Zealand. The world record-holder in the final of

:05:26. > :05:32.the 200 m, can she win her second Commonwealth Games old medal here?

:05:33. > :05:34.What a great swim. Very tight for the silver. -- Gold medal. No doubt

:05:35. > :05:47.about the winner. A double, double. From Ryan

:05:48. > :05:51.Cochrane. He does look pretty comfortable. He is charging. This

:05:52. > :05:56.race is not going to change Gold and silver. The Gold goes to Ryan

:05:57. > :06:01.Cochrane, but look at the race for bronze. I cannot believe it, he is

:06:02. > :06:07.going to do it, do Daniel Jervis. Wales have done it, he has got a

:06:08. > :06:12.bronze medal. -- Daniel Jervis. That was awesome!

:06:13. > :06:17.Daniel Jervis was a great story but it finished with two relays and in

:06:18. > :06:25.the women's race, Australia were the winners, with England second. Fran

:06:26. > :06:30.Halsall. And the men's race was extraordinary, I had to stay to

:06:31. > :06:33.watch this because it was a battle between England in great and

:06:34. > :06:40.Australia in yellow. This is the final touch! Adam Brown. -- England

:06:41. > :06:48.in the great caps. Taking Gold in the medley Relay. England finished

:06:49. > :06:55.with ten Gold medals, Scotland with three, Wales with two, Rebecca

:06:56. > :06:58.Adlington has joined us. So excited. We are going to bring on our first

:06:59. > :07:06.guest, and you have to introduce them or you will burst. The roof is

:07:07. > :07:11.going to come off. Ready? Please welcome two of teams Scotland's's

:07:12. > :07:13.champions, Hannah Miley and Ross Murdoch! -- team Scotland's's

:07:14. > :07:40.champions. Daniel Wallace is not here. There is

:07:41. > :07:45.a team dinner tonight. We hope to have him later this week. And queue

:07:46. > :07:53.for missing the team dinner. -- thank you. Has it sunk in yet? Not

:07:54. > :08:00.really. The feeling I had at the end, I still do not believe it was

:08:01. > :08:05.me that did that. You created one of the images of the Games. Two! The

:08:06. > :08:09.look on your face when you turned round and you saw the scoreboard and

:08:10. > :08:14.you realised your time, a Games record, and that you had one Gold.

:08:15. > :08:26.And also on the podium. You had everybody in this country going... I

:08:27. > :08:31.just could not hold it together. Just having the home crowd singing

:08:32. > :08:35.the national anthem. It was something I will never forget. It

:08:36. > :08:38.was amazing for me. Hannah, you were a dynamo. How many individual

:08:39. > :08:55.finals? Seven. You not tired? I am now, I am very

:08:56. > :09:01.tired now. I only expected to make two so anything else was a bonus. Do

:09:02. > :09:10.you want your moment? Let's show you. This is Hannah finding her dad,

:09:11. > :09:19.Patrick, in the crowd. Exactly! That Hogg. It says a million words --

:09:20. > :09:28.that Hogg. And your mum. You have always said you did it for them. We

:09:29. > :09:33.are such a close-knit unit. We do it against the grain, we are in the

:09:34. > :09:39.middle of nowhere. We have a little 25-metre rule. My dad has taken me

:09:40. > :09:42.from throwing me in when I was little to wanting me to be safe

:09:43. > :09:49.around water. -- 25-metre swimming pool. Not that chilly! He wanted me

:09:50. > :09:54.to swim and you do not realise the potential you have. -- not

:09:55. > :10:01.literally. My family have been involved. My two younger brothers

:10:02. > :10:07.swim also. It is working. And even my mum, she keeps us grounded. So it

:10:08. > :10:12.is for them, really. I am very family orientated. Ross, what is

:10:13. > :10:16.next, are you prepared for how things will change? I am not quite

:10:17. > :10:22.sure yet. It is coming a bit fast for me. I will take it all in and

:10:23. > :10:29.have a couple of days to regroup with my coach, have a chat about the

:10:30. > :10:33.meet. We will have another couple of competitions this season so it does

:10:34. > :10:39.not finish here. I think the meet has gone quite well! Put it into

:10:40. > :10:43.perspective what teams Scotland have achieved. Dan Wallace swam great to

:10:44. > :10:47.get a silver medal -- teams Scotland. I think everybody probably

:10:48. > :10:53.thought the Australians would dominate. But they have not. Hannah,

:10:54. > :10:59.you got the ball rolling and so many Scottish people were going, I want

:11:00. > :11:03.to be like them, and the podium! It was amazing to see the momentum.

:11:04. > :11:13.They must have heard you are here because the Hydro has gone Gold.

:11:14. > :11:20.Exactly! I do not know why the Armadillo is green! But the Hydro is

:11:21. > :11:27.Gold. Do you go on holiday now? I need to regroup and we need to work

:11:28. > :11:30.out the next stages. The competition has not finished yet, we have more

:11:31. > :11:37.things going on in the summer. Definitely a break away is needed.

:11:38. > :11:44.We spoke to your dad on the show, we have spoken to your mum before.

:11:45. > :11:49.Hello, Maureen. When you heard I was going to talk to you again, you

:11:50. > :11:52.said, no, not really. That is standard after people have been

:11:53. > :11:58.interviewed by me once, are you happier tonight? I was always happy.

:11:59. > :12:06.I meant about talking to me! This is all about me. Are you more content?

:12:07. > :12:11.Yes, I am. Flower of Scotland is very moving for a Scots but it was

:12:12. > :12:19.very loud. We have the entire family. Everybody is always nice

:12:20. > :12:23.about their sons, but brothers and sisters can say naughty things about

:12:24. > :12:25.brothers. What is he like as a Big Brother? He is not actually that

:12:26. > :12:39.bad. You cannot ask for more! That is

:12:40. > :12:50.complimentary for a little sister. What is she like as a little

:12:51. > :12:56.sister? Brilliant. Proud dad? I have only got that last 50 metres in that

:12:57. > :13:03.last lap in my head. I cannot forget that, that was just incredible. How

:13:04. > :13:12.were the nerves? I was just leaping! Jumping! He was really into. How did

:13:13. > :13:19.he do it? He was -- he was great. And see your dad! I am not quite

:13:20. > :13:24.sure. -- and see your dad. It was to do with the home crowd. I was not

:13:25. > :13:28.sure where I was and when I heard the crowd, I just wanted it more

:13:29. > :13:37.than anything in the world and I just went for it. Scott? I have been

:13:38. > :13:46.kicking myself for always being second best! Great and set! It's got

:13:47. > :13:53.a round of applause. -- that is a great answer. Let's give Scott a

:13:54. > :14:03.round of applause. Thank you very much. That was not too bad. Was that

:14:04. > :14:06.all right? That was OK. In recognition of everything Scotland

:14:07. > :14:15.have done already, Jill Douglas is back at the fruit market.

:14:16. > :14:20.Another fantastic night here. And. We have another big crowd at the

:14:21. > :14:29.fruit market. -- fantastic night here. And. -- for Scotland. We love

:14:30. > :14:34.Scotland are enjoying their most successful Commonwealth Games ever.

:14:35. > :14:40.We had a party here last night, some people were here until the small

:14:41. > :14:44.hours. I was not one of them. We have another great line-up tonight

:14:45. > :14:50.and some fantastic acts coming on but we will also be joined by a host

:14:51. > :14:52.of medallists. A couple have sneaked in early to say hello. Please

:14:53. > :15:09.welcome... MacLean.

:15:10. > :15:25.APPLAUSE Do people jump up and start cheering

:15:26. > :15:28.every time you walk into the room at the moment? Yeah, that's what we're

:15:29. > :15:33.getting all the time, walking down the street... No, not quite the

:15:34. > :15:39.rapturous applause these guys have been giving It's fantastic us. , the

:15:40. > :15:43.Gold Medal, out of retirement, here in Glasgow, carrying the flag an

:15:44. > :15:48.amazing few days. Yeah, I said earlier in the week someone said a

:15:49. > :15:52.once in a lifetime, but it's once in 100 life Times, if you got a

:15:53. > :15:58.thousand people together, how many of them would carry a flag for their

:15:59. > :16:02.team at their home Games and wane Gold Medal. -- win a Gold Medal.

:16:03. > :16:04.It's the most bizarre, surreal, amazing experience. You've done us

:16:05. > :16:14.proud. There he is. APPLAUSE

:16:15. > :16:18.Of course, the hot ticket in town was the velodrome, Neil Fachie,

:16:19. > :16:22.Craig MacLean, double Gold Medallists. I saw you at the

:16:23. > :16:26.mountain biking today. Life has changed a bit because of what you

:16:27. > :16:30.achieved. Yeah, I'm going to be honest, we didn't see a lot of the

:16:31. > :16:34.cycling today because we were constantly having photos taken and

:16:35. > :16:38.signing autographs, which is nice, don't get me wrong. I'm not used to

:16:39. > :16:41.smiling so much. Huge smile on your face as well, Craig. We have saw it

:16:42. > :16:47.on the track, once you got your breath back. It's been fantastic,

:16:48. > :16:52.hasn't it? It's been amazing. It's something I never thought I'd get to

:16:53. > :16:56.experience. Potentially the last big event of my career, what a way to go

:16:57. > :16:59.out, amazing. We will have a party here. Some of your team-mates are

:17:00. > :17:03.coming down. Amazing acts are coming on. A great crowd in the house.

:17:04. > :17:10.Let's have some fun. CHEERING

:17:11. > :17:16.I think Gill knows the best spots anywhere in the world, but

:17:17. > :17:23.particular Glasgow. Amelia on Twitter, Ross Murdoch's podium face

:17:24. > :17:27.made my heart melt. Han yay mily lifting the roof off Tollcross was

:17:28. > :17:31.amazing. Elaine says, "Favourite moment is

:17:32. > :17:38.the men's swimming relay final. Fabulous end to the swimming event."

:17:39. > :17:43.Let's reflect team Wales and team England. We have Jazz Carlin and

:17:44. > :17:52.Georgia Davis and along with them from England, Siobhan Marie

:17:53. > :17:58.O'Connor, Adam Peaty... (Downed out by cheering)

:17:59. > :18:22.Gosh, well done. That's a lot of swimmers all on one Jazz, I stage.

:18:23. > :18:27.Said to Rebecca earlier today that you are the new Adlington. And she

:18:28. > :18:31.said, "That's fine by me." That's nice. Becky achieved so much and did

:18:32. > :18:36.so much for the distance swimming girls. Yeah, it's obviously nice to

:18:37. > :18:40.bring back the Gold Medal to a British nation. The extraordinary

:18:41. > :18:45.thing was until yesterday, Wales hadn't won a Gold Medal for a woman

:18:46. > :18:52.in the pool for 40 years. Then two in two days because Georgia did it

:18:53. > :18:56.again. Brilliant. APPLAUSE

:18:57. > :18:59.I watched Jazz and it inspired me. I saw her right before my semifinal of

:19:00. > :19:03.the 50 backstroke and I watched the National Anthem and it made me want

:19:04. > :19:08.to really go for it and tonight again, I watched her right before I

:19:09. > :19:13.raced. It's so inspiring. Let's look at your medal ceremony from today.

:19:14. > :19:18.We can show that as well. Did you talk properly last night about what

:19:19. > :19:23.it was like? Not too much because Jaz had a race this morning and had

:19:24. > :19:31.to get back and get some rest ready for the 400. It was, yeah, amazing.

:19:32. > :19:35.The 50 m backstroke it is amazingly fast and all of that churning of the

:19:36. > :19:38.water and the waves going down the pool like a tidal wave, it's

:19:39. > :19:42.extraordinary. It's really close. You never know if you've won or come

:19:43. > :19:51.third or fourth or whatever until you look at the score board. Team

:19:52. > :19:54.England, how are we? Shall we start with the final four by 100 relay,

:19:55. > :20:01.which was a good way for team England to round off their

:20:02. > :20:07.championships. Who wants to talk? I'm stuck for words really. As soon

:20:08. > :20:10.as we touched in, it was going to be tough, Australia came back really

:20:11. > :20:14.strong. We gave the best for our country and couldn't think of

:20:15. > :20:21.anything else. The Aussies have won that... Since about 1870! Last four

:20:22. > :20:29.Commonwealths at least. Yeah! I think it is. I think the last time

:20:30. > :20:34.England won the medley relay, butterfly wasn't even invented. Look

:20:35. > :20:39.at you. Roar! A great effort. Due enjoy it? Yeah, it was an

:20:40. > :20:43.unbelievable experience. I swap the freestyle -- swam the freestyle leg.

:20:44. > :20:46.I was against the fastest guy in the world, James Magnussen. He was

:20:47. > :20:50.coming back at me the whole second 50. I had to dig in deep and give

:20:51. > :20:56.everything from my heart. What was your lead as you went in? I have no

:20:57. > :21:00.idea. These guys set me up perfectly well. It was a perfectly executed

:21:01. > :21:07.race. I knew that he was going to be after me the whole way. I just had

:21:08. > :21:11.to dig in deep. Are you thinking - I need a certain lead. Or do you focus

:21:12. > :21:21.on what you have to do? I knew they would give me a good lead. Having

:21:22. > :21:24.James chase me down the last length I just had to give it everything.

:21:25. > :21:29.Chris Walker-Hebborn got your individual gold and part of the

:21:30. > :21:34.team. It's an amazing meet. You like to celebrate in an unusual way,

:21:35. > :21:36.don't you? Yeah I like to have a cup of tea and a biscuit when I get

:21:37. > :21:42.That's very back. Unusual! APPLAUSE

:21:43. > :21:46.It's been fantastic. More than I could have asked for. For those that

:21:47. > :21:50.know me, it's been a long four, five years of not doing much. To come

:21:51. > :21:56.away with two golds was absolutely over the moon. I'll be celebrating

:21:57. > :22:01.with a few more tattoos hopefully. You like to show them off. Show your

:22:02. > :22:06.arm. I have a nice one on my leg as Oh, gosh well. . Do that again, so

:22:07. > :22:14.we can see it properly. What is that then? Like a she-wolf, like a tribal

:22:15. > :22:18.wolf. How long did that take to do? Four-and-a-half Is it hours.

:22:19. > :22:26.Painful? It felt great, really good. We could have a long conversation

:22:27. > :22:30.about tattoos but let's talk to Siobhan, who is also your

:22:31. > :22:38.girlfriend, how many medals in total? Six.

:22:39. > :22:44.APPLAUSE And you're only 18, are you the

:22:45. > :22:47.youngest in the team? Not the youngest this year. I'm one of the

:22:48. > :22:51.youngest, but not the youngest. There are a few girls who are just

:22:52. > :22:58.18. Have you got all six on at one go? Yeah. They said to bring them

:22:59. > :23:01.along, so I thought I would. Thank you, thank you for obeying our

:23:02. > :23:05.instructions. That's very kind of you. The other amazing thing to

:23:06. > :23:10.reflect on from team England is that two English swimmers did the sprint

:23:11. > :23:16.double, Fran Halsall and this guy here Ben Proud.

:23:17. > :23:20.APPLAUSE You're going to be getting a lot of

:23:21. > :23:23.post and a lot of messages on Facebook and a lot of stuff through

:23:24. > :23:28.on Twitter. I think you have a massive fan base now. There's been

:23:29. > :23:31.so much support the past week. Everyone out there all friends,

:23:32. > :23:35.family, people I train with, just sup porting me so much. It's made

:23:36. > :23:40.the your honoury a lot easier. What's -- Journey a lot easier.

:23:41. > :23:45.What's best aspect? The team environment. Spending time with team

:23:46. > :23:50.England, team Wales and team Scotland. It is the friendly Games.

:23:51. > :23:53.It will be two weeks I'll never forget. When you go back to Wales,

:23:54. > :24:01.are you expecting a home coming party? Maybe. I'm not going back to

:24:02. > :24:06.Wales. I have to go back to Loughborough for training. Straight

:24:07. > :24:13.back to training. What about you Jazz? Back to Swansea and then off

:24:14. > :24:17.to Majorca with a training -- for a training We should camp. Mention Amy

:24:18. > :24:27.Wilmot who won two silver medals, she's over at the bar. A grand job

:24:28. > :24:28.as well. APPLAUSE

:24:29. > :24:33.it's been a delight to watch. Thank you so much, congratulations to the

:24:34. > :24:40.swimmers from team Scotland, team Wales and team England! Right, the

:24:41. > :24:42.swimming is over, but the athletics is really only just begun. Here's

:24:43. > :24:55.what happened today: Triple jump, Samuel of England, wow,

:24:56. > :25:02.that's big. I think she's just absolutely

:25:03. > :25:07.smashed that. Kimberly Williams, a huge medal favourite. Gold for

:25:08. > :25:14.Jamaica. Silver Medal for Laura Samuel.

:25:15. > :25:22.It's going to be a Kenyan one, two, three. There's still a chance she

:25:23. > :25:24.might make it. She looks for the gap between the lap runner. She might

:25:25. > :25:39.just make it. Kate Avery picks it up again. She's

:25:40. > :25:45.trying to make it, but oh, it's been given to England.

:25:46. > :25:55.Beth Potter takes fifth place. Both of them reasoning personal bets.

:25:56. > :26:05.-- bests. Williams-Mills looking strong.

:26:06. > :26:08.McPherson is running well. Stephanie Ann McPherson coming through.

:26:09. > :26:11.McPherson is going to get this. She is the Commonwealth champion. A

:26:12. > :26:28.Jamaican one, two and three here. Bronze medal now. Scotland silver

:26:29. > :26:40.throw from Nick Miller. Steacy of Canada.

:26:41. > :26:46.Brathwaite and now Riley coming through. It's Riley and Sharman.

:26:47. > :26:52.Sharman just stutters up that hurdle. It's tight. Riley gets the

:26:53. > :26:56.gold. Sharman the silver. Good performance by Riley. Sharman

:26:57. > :27:06.must be thinking - that was my chance.

:27:07. > :27:11.Damian Warner, a man who knows he's on the way to only one thing,

:27:12. > :27:21.Commonwealth gold. Warner, the Canadian will win the

:27:22. > :27:33.gold. That is settled. Ashley Bryant. The gold and Silver

:27:34. > :27:40.Medallists. Kibiegon is kicking from the front. Weightman going past

:27:41. > :27:43.Obiri. Can they chase them down? It's going to be Kibiegon. Weightman

:27:44. > :27:48.trying to hang on for the Silver Medal. Kibiegon takes the gold,

:27:49. > :27:55.Weightman the silver. Delight for the Englishwoman.

:27:56. > :28:01.In the meeting earlier today to discuss who we would get on to

:28:02. > :28:08.discuss the athletics, a clue was given to one of the people, which

:28:09. > :28:15.was as follows: I said what's that? I didn't understand it. To anybody

:28:16. > :28:20.who had a spectrum in the 1980s, it is evident what that is, that's what

:28:21. > :28:26.you used to play Daley Thompson's decathlon. I didn't know that!

:28:27. > :28:28.Please welcome Daley Thompson and Lord Sebastian Coe.

:28:29. > :29:04.APPLAUSE You do the moves. It's the fastest

:29:05. > :29:13.I've seen him move in ten years. I feel deprived. Yeah, you need to

:29:14. > :29:17.play that. What was all that about? Dal ey's 1980s video game, which we

:29:18. > :29:21.all played. If you did a multievent sport, you could have done a

:29:22. > :29:25.computer game named after you as well. The 800 and 1500 would have

:29:26. > :29:30.been... Child's play. None of that going on. Can I just say, you might

:29:31. > :29:36.want to get some pipe and slippers out for the old guy. He's just been

:29:37. > :29:43.having warm milk. Is that what you were drinking? Ti, was tea. It was

:29:44. > :29:48.tea. We had our special cocktail. What's that? It's called splash in

:29:49. > :29:52.the pool. Splash in the pool. It's been made for us. It's a cocktail

:29:53. > :29:55.for our swimmers. Feel free to help yourself. We haven't spoken about

:29:56. > :30:00.athletics at all and that was the whole point of having you on. Can I

:30:01. > :30:04.start with Eilidh Child in the 400m hurdles today who smashed her heat.

:30:05. > :30:08.Said she broke all her usual routines by waving to the crowd

:30:09. > :30:19.beforehand, because she got carried away by the home fans, but in a good

:30:20. > :30:22.way. It can happen. You make preparations and you get into the

:30:23. > :30:27.stadium and 40,000 people are shouting. You throw everything out

:30:28. > :30:32.of the window and you show them how happy you are. She is running great

:30:33. > :30:39.and she will be in with a chance. It is harder to coming to the Games and

:30:40. > :30:45.sometimes the person on the poster is not the one who emerges as the

:30:46. > :30:50.star. No, they are not. The great thing and the awful thing about

:30:51. > :30:57.championships is that they are not always respectful of reputation. You

:30:58. > :31:00.can come in in great form but championships find people out. The

:31:01. > :31:06.people who come through... You have seen it today, they are the ones who

:31:07. > :31:10.just enjoyed the big championship environment. Some do not take to it

:31:11. > :31:14.that easily. The Commonwealth Games in particular

:31:15. > :31:20.could be a great launch pad. They could give somebody the confidence

:31:21. > :31:25.of a first medal to perform in so-called bigger championships, with

:31:26. > :31:31.greater competition. Ashley Bryant might be an example. It is a great

:31:32. > :31:37.place to learn your trade. It is the kind of place where there is a net

:31:38. > :31:42.of pressure but not suffocating like you get at the Olympics. If you are

:31:43. > :31:47.going to be good, this is the kind of place where you test yourself.

:31:48. > :31:53.You see if you enjoyed the stress and you move on. We saw one of the

:31:54. > :31:58.track and field athlete enjoying it, Greg Rutherford, who only needed one

:31:59. > :32:05.jump to get through to tomorrow. He wanted to sign as many autographs as

:32:06. > :32:10.he could. And there was quite an insistence... There was an official

:32:11. > :32:17.he was trying to get him to go. He was going, no! There is a baby I can

:32:18. > :32:19.hold. There is a child who wants a photograph with me. I have an

:32:20. > :32:28.autograph to do. Come on, photograph with me. I have an

:32:29. > :32:35.love him. Look, there is a baby. It is just perfect! He is in great

:32:36. > :32:41.form. He is determined to enjoy it. I think there is also an element of,

:32:42. > :32:46.it has been hard since the Games. He has had injuries. He came in not the

:32:47. > :32:51.favourite, but he probably was because he went into London with a

:32:52. > :32:54.world leading performance. The last couple of years have been difficult

:32:55. > :33:00.and he is relishing being back at the centre of things. That was a

:33:01. > :33:06.pretty good example of it! We have been sent this message, freeze bank

:33:07. > :33:15.Seb for the Olympics, because he thinks it has helped Glasgow put on

:33:16. > :33:21.a good show -- please thank Seb. I think that confidence has rolled

:33:22. > :33:27.over. That is a very generous thing to say. I think these guys would

:33:28. > :33:32.have put on a good show anyway. This is a country that is passionate

:33:33. > :33:39.about sport. The organisation has been sensational. The organisational

:33:40. > :33:43.committee. We have talked about the future of the Commonwealth Games and

:33:44. > :33:48.I think this has secured it again. We have had great Games in the past

:33:49. > :33:56.but I think this has raised the bar. It has been sensational. I must

:33:57. > :34:05.quickly mention something else. That is also the safe thing to say!

:34:06. > :34:11.Probably the biggest global start in athletics is David Rees the show --

:34:12. > :34:18.David Rudisha, along with Usain Bolt. Just like you at 15. Thank

:34:19. > :34:26.you, why do you not answer the question? He is the best 800-metre

:34:27. > :34:31.runner of all time. What he did today, which is a God-given talent,

:34:32. > :34:37.and also the strength of his mental strength, it is that he can control

:34:38. > :34:41.it from the front. And he got halfway down the back straight, he

:34:42. > :34:49.looked around, he looked up and he thought, I am home. And all he did

:34:50. > :34:54.was maintain that four yard gap which saw him across the line. So he

:34:55. > :35:02.used up very little petrol today. He came slightly undone because he has

:35:03. > :35:06.had a difficult build-up. He has been out for two years since the

:35:07. > :35:12.Games and he ran in Monaco in the Diamond League, he finished fifth.

:35:13. > :35:18.In 1.42. He is coming back into form but he is just the best athlete at

:35:19. > :35:27.these Games. Also we must mention Will Sharman. Are you up for the

:35:28. > :35:39.rest of the athletics? I am here until Friday. Pretty much. You are

:35:40. > :35:41.done! I told you he is old. Can I join the queue to have a drink with

:35:42. > :36:02.Sharron Davies? Go ahead! Mark, you are done. We did not know

:36:03. > :36:08.if it would take you longer so we have this piece to show. It is a

:36:09. > :36:17.very long queue for a drink with Sharron Davies. We will go to

:36:18. > :36:21.Katherine Grainger. I will not walk across the camera. But I will do, if

:36:22. > :36:24.you want. This is Katherine Grainger. That is what I wanted to

:36:25. > :36:35.say! Plus, peace and quiet. -- list. It

:36:36. > :36:37.has been a really and Games but it is good to get a break for a little

:36:38. > :36:54.while from the excitement. Apparently, I was not only one who

:36:55. > :37:01.thought of coming down to the woods. Luckily, the South side of Glasgow a

:37:02. > :37:08.great location. The women's race was first.

:37:09. > :37:17.Katherine Pendragon is miles clear. This is the battle. Pendrel is

:37:18. > :37:22.determined to claim this Gold medal. Batty is starting to open up a gap

:37:23. > :37:31.now between her and the Australian rider. It will be a fantastic day

:37:32. > :37:37.for the Canadians. They will have won every mountain bike event at the

:37:38. > :37:43.Commonwealth Games. Pendrel takes the Gold medal for Canada.

:37:44. > :37:47.She was in supreme form as she dominated from start to finish. Her

:37:48. > :37:52.compatriot Emily Batty got the silver medal to make it a one and

:37:53. > :37:58.two for Australia, with Henderson in third. Annie Last of England moved

:37:59. > :38:03.into fourth, meaning the highest finish for a British athlete in the

:38:04. > :38:07.mountain biking. And now we return to the men.

:38:08. > :38:14.Fantastic race, really competitive with those riders on the front line.

:38:15. > :38:19.Cooper. A significant move here. Anything can happen but these four

:38:20. > :38:23.are in with a chance. New Zealand first and third at the moment. Split

:38:24. > :38:30.by the Australian. The Canadian slipping further. The race is over

:38:31. > :38:37.for him. He is not in medal contention. All still in contention

:38:38. > :38:45.for silver, bronze and Gold. Cooper has gone for it. It is going to be a

:38:46. > :38:51.New Zealand one and two. So for Anton Cooper, he crosses the line.

:38:52. > :39:00.A wonderful finish to the men's race, 19-year-old New Zealand racer

:39:01. > :39:08.Cooper and his compatriot took Gold. Proving sporting drama can unfold in

:39:09. > :39:16.front of any backdrop, the beautiful Cathkin Braes backdrop has provided

:39:17. > :39:18.as much drama as the Scottish arena last night.

:39:19. > :39:24.We enjoyed the mountain biking. Where have you been today? I have

:39:25. > :39:30.been to the Cayman Islands. I have been to Hampden Park, but I met two

:39:31. > :39:34.of my favourite people, long jumpers, from the Cayman Islands

:39:35. > :39:44.extremely identical twins with almost identical names. Call and

:39:45. > :39:49.Carlos Morgan. -- call. Do you wish or parents had meant you

:39:50. > :39:53.something different? I am happy because people always get confused

:39:54. > :39:57.and it is good for us. -- your parents. Have you tried to be the

:39:58. > :40:03.other person in a competition? Not in a competition but in score, we

:40:04. > :40:08.switched class. As we were checking in, we were given the wrong number.

:40:09. > :40:13.They were checking to see if we were the right number. I said, I do not

:40:14. > :40:15.want a job well for call us and he gets the recognition. That would be

:40:16. > :40:30.great. -- Carlos. You cancel I were ever you like. --

:40:31. > :40:34.you can sign it where ever you like. The photograph, they could not work

:40:35. > :40:38.out which was which when they took the photograph.

:40:39. > :40:46.As well as them, we have Papua New Guinea. We set only the challenge.

:40:47. > :40:54.-- we set Oliver this challenge. Barbados. He has to meet and talk to

:40:55. > :41:08.somebody from each of the nations. Mauritius. The Soto. South Africa.

:41:09. > :41:15.-- the Soto. Malawi. They are great at netball. I have fallen off! 13

:41:16. > :41:19.today, 50 overall, the rest of them you can find on the BBC sport

:41:20. > :41:32.website and Twitter. Good stuff. Finals for gymnastics.

:41:33. > :41:38.-- over to the Hydro now and to the finals for gymnastics.

:41:39. > :41:49.Welcome to the Hydro, the stars of British gymnastics were all in this

:41:50. > :41:54.arena. No pressure! Goodness me! England or unstoppable. That is how

:41:55. > :42:02.to answer pressure. Scotland is needed that. He has been consistent.

:42:03. > :42:11.-- Scotland. My goodness me! That does not look good. He has injured

:42:12. > :42:19.his ankle. Not good news. Bad news indeed for England. Just the

:42:20. > :42:27.landing. Wonderful stuff! Not bad for Smith. The big guy has delivered

:42:28. > :42:30.on the big stage, once again. What a great start for the second

:42:31. > :42:36.half of their competition. They did not disappoint. England moved the

:42:37. > :42:43.high bar and England's -- in Scotland moved to the vaults.

:42:44. > :42:49.-- in Scotland. Scotland get the silver medal. They make history for

:42:50. > :42:56.the first time ever. They have 18 medal in the Commonwealth Games.

:42:57. > :43:01.Kristian Thomas does the job 14 England, they take Gold!

:43:02. > :43:04.That is official confirmation, England other Commonwealth

:43:05. > :43:08.champions, Scotland take a well-deserved silver medal --

:43:09. > :43:13.England are the Commonwealth champions. Canada get Gold. What a

:43:14. > :43:17.start for the boys, and it is over to the girls.

:43:18. > :43:25.A mature performance. Dynamic tumbling. Entertaining dance.

:43:26. > :43:31.Consistent stuff on the beam. Wales in reach of a medal.

:43:32. > :43:37.Scotland have given this crowd a lot to cheer about but they are out of

:43:38. > :43:41.the running, Wales pulled off a superb performance and have a chance

:43:42. > :43:46.of getting off -- getting on the podium.

:43:47. > :43:56.A good opener for England. What a finish! Cracking routine.

:43:57. > :44:01.Absolutely first-class! Claudia Fragapane, what a gymnast!

:44:02. > :44:04.England are sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard and they

:44:05. > :44:09.guaranteed a medal, but the only team that could stop them getting

:44:10. > :44:15.Gold Canada and the old enemy, Australia.

:44:16. > :44:19.He has to nail this. Canada will not be able to get into

:44:20. > :44:25.that bronze medal position. Wales have made history. Wales have

:44:26. > :44:30.got a bronze medal, Australia second and England make sure they do the

:44:31. > :44:34.double and they go home with Gold. But Wales is the story of the day

:44:35. > :44:52.and we can all now breathe again. What an afternoon!

:44:53. > :44:57.Tweddle. Wales' women, their first ever medal

:44:58. > :45:03.in gymnastics and they found out, stood in the crowd, and they're all

:45:04. > :45:06.young, only between 16 and 19. Yeah, they didn't send a team to Delhi.

:45:07. > :45:09.They weren't seeded. They were in the round this morning. They didn't

:45:10. > :45:15.really get watched. They just were the dark horses. They were stood in

:45:16. > :45:22.the crowd when they found out. Half the team were going, "What are you

:45:23. > :45:25.crying about? We won! Yeah, it was brilliant for them. Their coach was

:45:26. > :45:31.in tears. It is an historic moment for them. I think they gave a lot of

:45:32. > :45:35.credit to you. This is your legacy. For the gymnasts doing so well, I

:45:36. > :45:38.know it makes you sound ancient, and you're not, but a couple of

:45:39. > :45:42.questions for the England men. How is Sam Oldham first of all? He's had

:45:43. > :45:46.scans. We are waiting for the final reports. He's in a boot and on

:45:47. > :45:51.crutches much we're still waiting for the final outcome. The rapport

:45:52. > :45:55.between the England and Scotland men was great. A lot of them train

:45:56. > :45:58.together. The Scottish, Welsh and English guys all train together at

:45:59. > :46:02.our national centre lead intoing this competition. They all --

:46:03. > :46:05.Leigheding into this competition. As they were going around, there was

:46:06. > :46:09.camaraderie. Even when Sam was injured. The Scottish boys were

:46:10. > :46:14.looking over, saying, "Is he all right? Scotland were just so

:46:15. > :46:19.pleased. They've never won a team medal. Adam Cox who was in 2002,

:46:20. > :46:24.when they didn't even dream of a medal and he was there now. Louis

:46:25. > :46:28.Smith said afterwards, he answered critics who said he shouldn't come

:46:29. > :46:31.back to gymnastics to be part a Gold Medal-winning team. Yeah, it was his

:46:32. > :46:36.decision. He was at the World Championships last year on the press

:46:37. > :46:39.side of it. You could still see that he had that fire. He wanted to be

:46:40. > :46:43.back on the floor. Whereas, I was quite happy to sit back and let them

:46:44. > :46:47.get on with it. We were delighted to have you as part of the BBC team.

:46:48. > :46:51.Thank you so much for coming in here. Congratulations to England,

:46:52. > :47:01.Scotland and Wales. APPLAUSE

:47:02. > :47:07.Other stories around today: In the weightlifting Gold Medallist Amalaha

:47:08. > :47:13.has been provisionally suspended after failing a drugs test. The

:47:14. > :47:19.16-year-old from Nigeria, who won the women's 50 kg class will have a

:47:20. > :47:23.B sample tested tomorrow. England's netballers crushed

:47:24. > :47:27.Trinidad and Tobago 70-24 to move a step nearer medal matches. Wales and

:47:28. > :47:32.Scotland both lost today. They can no longer reach the semifinals. In

:47:33. > :47:36.hockey, England's men lost 2-1 to New Zealand but are on course to

:47:37. > :47:41.make the semifinals. Wales ended their group stage was a 5-1 defeat

:47:42. > :47:47.to South Africa. English boxing Natasha Jonas lost this afternoon,

:47:48. > :47:52.but Joe Joyce, Wales' Joe Cordena and Scotland's Reece McFadden and

:47:53. > :47:59.Charlie Flynn all won to guarantee them slds at Oliver Letwin a bronze.

:48:00. > :48:01.We should say from late boxing fights, Savannah marshal won this

:48:02. > :48:07.evening. She's into the quarter finals. And assured at least a

:48:08. > :48:14.bronze. Scotland's Josh Taylor, Samuel Maxwell of England, and Sean

:48:15. > :48:23.Duffy as well. We are joined by winter Olympians here, Jenny Jones,

:48:24. > :48:32.eve purehead and -- muirhead and Dave Murdoch. You were wowed by the

:48:33. > :48:37.reaction to the gymnasts not realised you'd had similar reactions

:48:38. > :48:41.from us when we watched you. It was so exciting to see Claudia do so

:48:42. > :48:44.well on the last floor routine. She smashed it. Her reaction and seeing

:48:45. > :48:50.her mum and all of that, yeah, it was weird. Eve here is a great

:48:51. > :48:54.friend of Hannah Miley's aren't you? Yeah, I know hany really well. We've

:48:55. > :48:58.done a bit of training. I was speaking to her beforehand and she's

:48:59. > :49:04.training tomorrow at 5. 30am. Tomorrow? Yes! Why? I don't know. I

:49:05. > :49:09.could not believe it. This is madness. Dave, it's a good day to be

:49:10. > :49:15.a Murdoch. It's always a good time to be a Murdoch. Always a good time.

:49:16. > :49:18.It's incredible. Ross on the first day set the tone for what we've seen

:49:19. > :49:22.so far, team Scotland are really doing us proud. It's There are

:49:23. > :49:26.fantastic. Fantastic sports to watch. I'm sure you will get your

:49:27. > :49:34.chance to see a few. One such that started today is wrestling. Let's

:49:35. > :49:40.see what happened. The Nigerian in red. Kumar of India

:49:41. > :49:43.in blue. Speed, power, everything. He is the complete package.

:49:44. > :49:49.Brilliant wrestling. Hannah England was the better man on the -- he --

:49:50. > :50:04.brilliant wrestling. He was the better man on the night.

:50:05. > :50:11.A great come back from Ratigan. The Indian hanging on here. Five seconds

:50:12. > :50:21.to go. I think she's going to run out of time. The Indian has done it.

:50:22. > :50:25.Kumar Commonwealth champion from 2010, a quick take down over the

:50:26. > :50:27.Pakistani athlete. That was a brilliant move there. A leg grab,

:50:28. > :50:34.straight onto the back. 6-0 then. There's the pin. He takes the gold.

:50:35. > :50:49.He was frighteningly good there. India in blue, Canada in red. She

:50:50. > :50:53.takes her down to her back. One more point and she'll have the gold. It's

:50:54. > :50:59.all over. She wins by default. She gets the Gold Medal.

:51:00. > :51:07.The two big men just locking horns in this Gold Medal match, remember

:51:08. > :51:12.Jarvis of Canada in blue. Technical point has ban warded to the

:51:13. > :51:16.Canadian. This is the closest of any bout we've seen so far. Can't really

:51:17. > :51:21.say how this is going to go. It's a point to the Canadian, yes, it is.

:51:22. > :51:29.Two seconds, one second... That's it. Corrie Jarvis of Canada -- cory

:51:30. > :51:45.Jarvis of Canada, Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist.

:51:46. > :51:51.Welcome all our medallists. Give them all a round after plauz.

:51:52. > :51:59.APPLAUSE Proud? Yeah, very proud.

:52:00. > :52:04.Overwhelmed. Congratulations. You have fought today on your wedding

:52:05. > :52:07.anniversary. Yeah. Sure. Did you get any other presents for your

:52:08. > :52:12.anniversary aside from a Silver Medal? Not yet. Tomorrow. Your

:52:13. > :52:19.husband goes tomorrow, doesn't he? Yeah, he promised me he's going to

:52:20. > :52:25.get one for me. He will get a medal tomorrow. Hopefully. Well Thank you

:52:26. > :52:31.done. . What tows it mean? Buzzing. Excellent. What does it mean, Craig?

:52:32. > :52:35.Overwhelmed really. Just can't believe that it's happened as well.

:52:36. > :52:38.Will you go back to Wales for a celebration? Oh, yeah, definitely.

:52:39. > :52:42.Have you already started celebrating? Not yet. Do you want a

:52:43. > :52:47.cocktail, are you allowed? I'll speak to the coach. I don't want to

:52:48. > :52:53.get you into trouble with the coach. We've had twins on already, Fiona

:52:54. > :52:56.and Donna, which? There you go. You could have fought each other today,

:52:57. > :53:02.but that wouldn't have been unusual, you have fought each other before.

:53:03. > :53:06.It happened most tournaments, especially in Britain. How do you

:53:07. > :53:10.deal with it? At the time, it's just another opponent. Afterwards, we

:53:11. > :53:14.usually give each other about five minutes and then, that's all you're

:53:15. > :53:19.allowed before you continue with normal life. How special was it to

:53:20. > :53:24.fight in your home country? It was just amazing. When you're announced

:53:25. > :53:27.to go out to the crowd, you know, the response you get is

:53:28. > :53:32.overwhelming. It was probably the best day of our life. Carol

:53:33. > :53:37.Thatchers to all of you on -- congratulations to all of you. Six

:53:38. > :53:38.wrestlers in two minutes is quite a lot. We're going to weightlifting

:53:39. > :53:49.next. England's candidate, Mercy Brown.

:53:50. > :54:11.What a lift. She is such a beast. The bronze

:54:12. > :54:15.medal, she does not have. But making that lift is going to

:54:16. > :54:19.help her to go home in a much more positive frame of mind.

:54:20. > :54:47.Oh, no, advantage Canada. That's a super 150. What a lift to

:54:48. > :54:52.finish the snatch portion of the competition. What an amazing lift

:54:53. > :55:02.and the jerk there. Oh, so close.

:55:03. > :55:05.Come on! What a fight. Fantastic. If he lifts this, he is the champion.

:55:06. > :55:09.If he misses it, it goes to Australia.

:55:10. > :55:18.Wow. That was the most spectacular lift of the day so far. Papua New

:55:19. > :55:23.Guinea have the Gold Medal. A fantastic atmosphere, the

:55:24. > :55:30.weightlifting. They have a bongo cam and dame Mary Peters got caught on

:55:31. > :55:36.that. Any way, Kieran Thorpe says, "I was laughing so hard at Greg

:55:37. > :55:40.Rutherford, I woke my other half up." Let's catch up with the last

:55:41. > :55:41.day of shooting action. We hope to get the medallists in tomorrow. This

:55:42. > :55:58.is how they did. Here's a headline for you, rivers of

:55:59. > :56:07.gold, Dan Rivers that is. The English shooter was last man

:56:08. > :56:10.standing in the 15-metre rifle. 23-year-old Dan Rivers, a second

:56:11. > :56:18.medal and it's gold. I felt steadier throughout the final there, calmer,

:56:19. > :56:25.just smashed it again. Get in. Another medal for England, bronze

:56:26. > :56:30.for Christian Callahan. On the shot gun range, defending champion Aaron

:56:31. > :56:35.Heading faces Australia's Vella in the Gold Medal match. The Englishman

:56:36. > :56:39.just lost out. We're human. We make mistakes. As much as we try and

:56:40. > :56:45.build on it and train, something like that, nothing prepares you for

:56:46. > :56:48.the real thing. Jen McIntosh was gunning for gold in the women's

:56:49. > :56:54.three position rifle event. COMMENTATOR: Oh, dear, oh, dear. No

:56:55. > :56:59.gold for Jen at Glasgow 2014, with a total of five medals, she's now the

:57:00. > :57:09.most successful Scotswoman in Games history. We are on the full bore

:57:10. > :57:13.range. These are the competitors shooting at distances of 1,000

:57:14. > :57:20.yards. I'm getting out of here. The sharpest shooter was England's

:57:21. > :57:26.David's Luckman. He set a Games record to take gold with Patel

:57:27. > :57:31.taking bronze. He doesn't just go home with two golds, he gets a full

:57:32. > :57:50.bore sendoff. Love that. Here's the medal table:

:57:51. > :57:57.Now tomorrow, coverage starts on BBC within and BBC 3 and BBC 5 Live and

:57:58. > :58:02.across the website first thing, 9am for the TV. Greg Rutherford going in

:58:03. > :58:08.the long jump and signing autographs along the way. Gymnastics, the men's

:58:09. > :58:17.and women's all around and the diving starts tomorrow, the women's

:58:18. > :58:22.10 m sin crow. -- syncro. Thank you to everyone who has tweeted and

:58:23. > :58:26.saying they remember Daley Thompson's decathlon. Joshua says,

:58:27. > :58:30.one of the best ads for British swimming, a big thanks to the

:58:31. > :58:35.medallists who came in and the commentary team who are all over by

:58:36. > :58:39.the bar, enjoying themselves. Thanks to Adrian, Mark, Sharon, and all our

:58:40. > :58:44.guests who come in, thank you so much. We leave you with our band.

:58:45. > :58:50.Good night. See you tomorrow.
