0:00:36 > 0:00:40There is a buzz around the grounds here, but then there always is on

0:00:40 > 0:00:50men's finals day, but there is a special buzz today. An amazing day

0:00:50 > 0:01:00

0:01:00 > 0:01:07on Centre Court as we have witnessed his three Wimbledon crowns.

0:01:07 > 0:01:13BORIS BECKER: Since then, 70 Wimbledon men's's singles have been

0:01:13 > 0:01:22contested. United States lead the way. Australia are next with 16

0:01:22 > 0:01:29victories. Then comes Sweden with seven. And Switzerland with seven.

0:01:30 > 0:01:34Germany have for. And Spain three. --4. The remaining six titles are

0:01:34 > 0:01:41shared amongst six countries, including Croatia and Serbia.

0:01:42 > 0:01:48Fred Perry to the present, the home fans have experienced... 77 years of

0:01:48 > 0:01:57expectation. 77 years of close calls. 77 years of pain. To you, we

0:01:57 > 0:02:04salute your patience. For at the 71st attempt, congratulations,

0:02:04 > 0:02:09Britain. Your wait is finally over. He is a third of the way there.

0:02:09 > 0:02:15Lymphatic or what? The waiting is over! Andy Murray is the Wimbledon

0:02:15 > 0:02:18champion! -- emphatic or what? champion! -- emphatic or what?

0:02:18 > 0:02:20SUE BARKER: And this is how he did champion! -- emphatic or what?

0:02:20 > 0:02:27SUE BARKER: And this is how He had had a number of championships

0:02:27 > 0:02:30before, but -- championship points before, but that element that

0:02:30 > 0:02:33Britain has a Wimbledon champion. Andy Murray produced his best tennis

0:02:33 > 0:02:43to win in straight sets against the world number one. The had to beat

0:02:43 > 0:02:43

0:02:43 > 0:04:49Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

0:04:49 > 0:04:52today, it was an unbelievably tough match, so many long games and I

0:04:52 > 0:04:55don't know how I managed to come through. That final game was

0:04:55 > 0:05:05unbelievable, from three match points, so I am so glad to finally

0:05:05 > 0:05:08

0:05:08 > 0:05:17SUE BARKER: Just talk us through that last game. It was torturous to

0:05:17 > 0:05:20watch. How did you feel? Imagine playing it! I have played Novak many

0:05:20 > 0:05:24times, and when everyone has finished playing, he's going to go

0:05:25 > 0:05:32down as one of the biggest fighters. He has come back from so many times

0:05:32 > 0:05:36in winning positions -- from losing positions. But I don't know, I

0:05:36 > 0:05:40managed to squeeze through. played such a good match, but how

0:05:40 > 0:05:50good weather fans here, and on Henman Hill, and in Dunblane, and at

0:05:50 > 0:05:55

0:05:55 > 0:05:58home? -- how good were. I understood how much everyone wanted to see a

0:05:58 > 0:06:08British winner at Wimbledon, so I hope you guys enjoyed it. I tried my

0:06:08 > 0:06:08

0:06:08 > 0:06:13best. And I know you would like to mention your team, but I'm glad you

0:06:13 > 0:06:17did not forget your mum. I did forget! I just heard her squealing

0:06:17 > 0:06:22behind me when I was trying to get down and I turned back. They have

0:06:22 > 0:06:31been through everything with me. I have got a great team who have stuck

0:06:31 > 0:06:41with me through a lot of tough moments, and this one, especially

0:06:41 > 0:06:48for Ivan as well, because I know He did everything. He did everything

0:06:48 > 0:06:52to try and win this one when he was playing, and he is a fantastic

0:06:52 > 0:06:56person, worked extremely hard with me and been very patient, because

0:06:56 > 0:07:05I'm not easy at times, said thank you to everyone up there. And he is

0:07:05 > 0:07:10smiling as well. How much do you remember of that last point? I have

0:07:10 > 0:07:14no idea what happened. I really don't know what happened. In fact, I

0:07:14 > 0:07:21don't know how long that last game was. I can't even remember, I'm

0:07:21 > 0:07:25sorry. I was concentrating. We will enjoy watching a time and time

0:07:25 > 0:07:35again. Ladies and gentlemen, the Wimbledon champion for 2013,

0:07:35 > 0:07:41

0:07:41 > 0:07:44Britain's Andy Murray! What a moment this was for Andy. I

0:07:44 > 0:07:48don't think he's ever going to let go of that trophy, but seeing his

0:07:48 > 0:07:54name on the board alongside the all-time greats, Federer is on their

0:07:54 > 0:08:00seven times, Nadal and Djokovic, and Andy Murray, the first British

0:08:00 > 0:08:05winner since 1936, and the way he isn't playing, -- is playing, you

0:08:05 > 0:08:08wouldn't bet against more coming in. I am here in the studio with Boris

0:08:08 > 0:08:11Becker and John Lloyd. Boris, these are the moments that are so special

0:08:11 > 0:08:17about winning Wimbledon. This doesn't really happen at the other

0:08:17 > 0:08:21Grand Slams. No, you win on the court and the ceremony started and

0:08:21 > 0:08:25it is nice too, but Wimbledon has a different tradition. It is the

0:08:25 > 0:08:30oldest of all the Grand Slams, it is the most prestigious, and this is

0:08:30 > 0:08:34the Walker glory, where you shake everybody's hands -- the walk of

0:08:34 > 0:08:41glory. These are the people behind the scenes, who make this tournament

0:08:41 > 0:08:49work perfectly. Roger Taylor, semifinalist here. And to beat the

0:08:49 > 0:08:52world number one, he had to beat the best on the day to get that trophy.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55In three straight sets, that was the one score I didn't think would

0:08:55 > 0:09:00happen, three straight sets to either of them, and it is

0:09:00 > 0:09:04unbelievable. There is no reason, first things first, here's won

0:09:04 > 0:09:09Wimbledon, so we will give him five minutes to relax and now he has got

0:09:09 > 0:09:16to look at being number one in the world. Why not? Multiple Grand Slams

0:09:17 > 0:09:25ahead of him. He is the holding of two of the four grand slam titles.

0:09:25 > 0:09:31The other ones are Djokovic and Federer. But he is the number one

0:09:31 > 0:09:35player. So many of these people over the years, they have not been able

0:09:35 > 0:09:40to get to Centre Court but they get a picture. He is finally letting the

0:09:40 > 0:09:44trophy go but I'm sure he will want to get it back. Andy is making his

0:09:44 > 0:09:50way through to the locker room and I think possibly, Boris, it will be

0:09:50 > 0:09:54beginning to sink in. Yes. I think those pictures we have seen, he is

0:09:54 > 0:09:58still somewhat in the zone, thinking about that match point. He couldn't

0:09:58 > 0:10:02remember when you ask him, he didn't remember the match point. That is

0:10:02 > 0:10:07how much he was concentrating and living in the moment. It is exactly

0:10:07 > 0:10:11what he hasn't done in the past, and had does so differently now. I'm

0:10:11 > 0:10:15sure by now, he has had a shower, maybe a little massage, a little

0:10:15 > 0:10:19talk with Ivan, making him realise what he has just done. He has

0:10:19 > 0:10:23written tennis history, so many levels, and I'm sure that when we

0:10:23 > 0:10:27get the chance to talk to him later, he will have a different phase.

0:10:27 > 0:10:32Absolutely. We have heard from Andy Murray, but he beat a great champion

0:10:32 > 0:10:35and a man who was very gracious on court, the world number one Novak

0:10:35 > 0:10:39Djokovic. He has been talking to Phil Jones.

0:10:39 > 0:10:43Novak, I know these interviews are never easy, so we appreciate you

0:10:43 > 0:10:47talking to us. You showed great grace on court, and now you have had

0:10:47 > 0:10:52more time to reflect on how you look back on what happened? Not that much

0:10:52 > 0:10:56time, I have just got off the court. I am still warm headed and

0:10:56 > 0:10:59disappointed with the lost, but it is what you cannot win all of the

0:10:59 > 0:11:06matches and I lost to a better opponent today will stop a player

0:11:06 > 0:11:12who was more patient and just better in the important moments. Obviously,

0:11:12 > 0:11:20I feel sorry that I could not come up with my best game when I needed

0:11:20 > 0:11:24to, especially the service, and a few unforced errors. No real

0:11:24 > 0:11:30efficiency on the net. All of these things combined allowed him to get a

0:11:30 > 0:11:36straight sets win. Physically, headed you feel out there? I felt

0:11:36 > 0:11:39OK, you know? It was a lot of long rallies. We took a lot more time

0:11:39 > 0:11:44between the points. Every time we play against each other, that is

0:11:44 > 0:11:49what we expect. A lot of pain on the court, physical and mental pain and

0:11:49 > 0:11:52I cannot look for any excuses because I played a five-hour

0:11:52 > 0:11:56semi-final, I have been in these situations before and managed to

0:11:56 > 0:12:01recover. I just maybe lacked that little bit more explosiveness from

0:12:01 > 0:12:08my legs at important moments and that is why I went for some shots I

0:12:08 > 0:12:13wouldn't go for and lost patience. Even at the end when you had three

0:12:13 > 0:12:16match points and then took them away from him, we know the great

0:12:16 > 0:12:20comebacks you have achieved in the past, what is going to your mind at

0:12:21 > 0:12:25that point? We've focused only on the point? Did you think, I can do

0:12:25 > 0:12:29this, I am on the verge of something special? Obviously, you feel when

0:12:29 > 0:12:33you are matchpoint down and the crowd is very loud, and it is an

0:12:33 > 0:12:37incredible atmosphere with big support for him, I just tried to

0:12:37 > 0:12:43stay composed and I was very frustrated with dropping the lead in

0:12:43 > 0:12:47both the second and third sets, when I was 4-2 up and inexplicably made

0:12:47 > 0:12:51some unforced errors and got him back into the match and didn't use

0:12:51 > 0:12:56my chances, and he did use his and he had his first serve when he

0:12:56 > 0:13:02needed and deserved to win. Is this the future of men's tennis, you and

0:13:02 > 0:13:06him head to head? Taking the game on to new levels? Hopefully. I enjoy

0:13:06 > 0:13:10our big matches, it is a big challenge for me to play against him

0:13:10 > 0:13:14always. It is very high intensity and a very high level of tennis.

0:13:14 > 0:13:19Hopefully, our rivalry can develop over the years. Finally, you knew it

0:13:19 > 0:13:27was going to be a partisan crowd today, wanting a British champion

0:13:27 > 0:13:30after 77 years, but the reception you got, you are embraced ever-more

0:13:30 > 0:13:33by the crowd and I hope you feel that. Yes, I appreciate that very

0:13:33 > 0:13:36much. I know how much it means to the crowd and everybody who watched

0:13:36 > 0:13:41the match today. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this match

0:13:41 > 0:13:45because this is the most valuable tennis final in the world. Everybody

0:13:45 > 0:13:50watches it, especially in this country, where they had a British

0:13:50 > 0:13:53player and hopes for Andy to win. He won, it is the perfect setting. For

0:13:53 > 0:13:57me, it was another year, a great tournament and hopefully I will come

0:13:57 > 0:14:03back stronger next year. Speak what I am sure you will and will have

0:14:03 > 0:14:08many more winning moment --I'm sure you will and will have many more

0:14:08 > 0:14:14winning moments. He is a class act. Years. He had a

0:14:14 > 0:14:18tough match at the French Open against Nadal, lost that one and

0:14:18 > 0:14:23then came here and played against an inspired opponent who was absolutely

0:14:23 > 0:14:27brilliant today. He is obviously very disappointed. I think we have

0:14:27 > 0:14:32the makings of a great rivalry. the fact they are so similar, they

0:14:32 > 0:14:36played as punishing baseline game and the points in the games are so

0:14:36 > 0:14:44long and so punishing but Andy did have the answers. It must be

0:14:44 > 0:14:47worrying for Novak? He spoke about losing patience, losing a step or

0:14:47 > 0:14:56two in the semifinals against Del Potro. Novak does cover a lot of

0:14:56 > 0:15:06miles on the court with the sliding and the ankle, it does get to you

0:15:06 > 0:15:09

0:15:09 > 0:15:13eventually the reason -- and the reason it gets deuce because Murray

0:15:14 > 0:15:18has shown the quality today, he made Djokovic shorten the rallies of

0:15:18 > 0:15:21cover dropshots. You know how competitive Novak is and how he has

0:15:21 > 0:15:26improved has pushed Andy and having lost to Andy here and at the US

0:15:26 > 0:15:29Open, Novak has got to raise his game, and you know he will. The

0:15:29 > 0:15:39level of tennis they may produce could be even more spectacular than

0:15:39 > 0:15:40

0:15:40 > 0:15:43we have seen today. Exactly, they cancel each other out. One thing the

0:15:43 > 0:15:48day, his serve, you think that Andy Murray might get some cheap points

0:15:48 > 0:15:52on his service games, but Novak only served four aces today, something

0:15:52 > 0:15:57ridiculously small. It was like Andy Murray new weather serve was going,

0:15:57 > 0:16:00reading it a lot better than vice versa -- where the serve was going.

0:16:01 > 0:16:08He did use dropshots a bit too much but it was just one of those days.

0:16:08 > 0:16:13Murray was just incredible. That have a look at some of the points in

0:16:13 > 0:16:22have a look at some of the points in the break set -- final set. We can

0:16:22 > 0:16:26just sit back in awe and watch some of these. Spectacular hitting and

0:16:26 > 0:16:31the running they were doing, Boris? And we forget how hot it was,

0:16:31 > 0:16:35scorching. Over 40 degrees on the court, and you give anybody a tennis

0:16:35 > 0:16:39racket, run around the ten minutes, let alone to three hours, in front

0:16:39 > 0:16:43of millions of people, they cannot do it. It just goes to show the

0:16:43 > 0:16:50quality, the spirit of these players have, to put it all on the line.

0:16:50 > 0:16:56the aggression he has been saying he wanted to use was there today.

0:16:56 > 0:16:59Beforehand has improved immensely. We have talked about the mental side

0:16:59 > 0:17:04but the forehand, going crosscourt to Novak Djokovic and then suddenly

0:17:04 > 0:17:10blasting it in, he just seemed to read when Novak was hitting the

0:17:10 > 0:17:17ball. It was spectacular. How quick is he to get to that ball? And then

0:17:17 > 0:17:22he is back again. Again, the drop shot. He played him in areas where

0:17:22 > 0:17:31he was not comfortable. Murray made him play like that and that is

0:17:31 > 0:17:35something that Joe -- Novak cannot pass away. I think Murray found out

0:17:35 > 0:17:39a lot about himself when he was a break-up in the third set and it was

0:17:39 > 0:17:45that the taking and got broken back, a few nervy games and then he proved

0:17:45 > 0:17:53he can play the big points. It was a whole turnaround from Djokovic. It

0:17:54 > 0:17:57looked like the game was over at two sets to zero and 2-0. And if he had

0:17:57 > 0:18:03got the third set, who knows what would have happened? But that was

0:18:03 > 0:18:06when Murray played his best tennis. And the crowd played their part,

0:18:07 > 0:18:12look at this. These scenes on Centre Court, absolutely the belief of it

0:18:12 > 0:18:16all, it has just lifted everybody. You expected from a home crowd but I

0:18:16 > 0:18:23still thought they were fair. They were noisy and they supported their

0:18:23 > 0:18:27man but they did respect Djokovic. No whistling between serves. Come to

0:18:27 > 0:18:32Paris and New York, you see different types of crowds. They

0:18:32 > 0:18:36stayed within the rules of tennis. We will talk more in a moment but

0:18:36 > 0:18:41let's hear from one of the all-time greats, what Labour.

0:18:41 > 0:18:48That was a fantastic performance, what was your verdict? I feel

0:18:48 > 0:18:52exactly the same way. He played extremely well. His strength was his

0:18:52 > 0:18:56consistency and I think Djokovic failed a few times, because his

0:18:56 > 0:19:02forehand let him down and even though he was hitting the ball well,

0:19:02 > 0:19:08Andy could chase him down. It was a great result. And now he has got

0:19:08 > 0:19:13one, you won four. A second one is easily possible. What do you think?

0:19:13 > 0:19:17Yes. It is a lot easier after the first one, I am sure. I think Andy

0:19:17 > 0:19:20has got a long career ahead of him and he has played great tennis

0:19:20 > 0:19:25today, he played well, he did everything well and I think that is

0:19:25 > 0:19:30the thing. When he looks back at this, he will say, yes, I played

0:19:30 > 0:19:33pretty darn good. He was brewing, thanks so much for talking to us.

0:19:33 > 0:19:39was great and Andy should be very proud of what he has done for the

0:19:39 > 0:19:45British Isles. They have always wanted a Fred Perry, and now they

0:19:45 > 0:19:50have got a Fred Perry the second. Thank you, cheers.

0:19:50 > 0:19:55Lovely to see Rod Laver, one of the game's all-time greats. He knows

0:19:55 > 0:19:59that and would have appreciated what those guys did. He's probably the

0:19:59 > 0:20:04most modest champion I have ever seen, you would think he had won a

0:20:04 > 0:20:09couple of Parks tournaments. If he is not the greatest, he was one of

0:20:09 > 0:20:12them, a wonderful man and a great player. We saw so many great

0:20:12 > 0:20:16sportspeople and famous faces in the crowd and I think nobody realised,

0:20:16 > 0:20:24you probably realise it more than anybody, what a cauldron of tension

0:20:24 > 0:20:27that Centre Court can be through a final like that. As a player, you

0:20:27 > 0:20:36sneak a look at the Royal box and you see who is watching. We watched

0:20:36 > 0:20:40the movies, we know Bradley Cooper and some of the others and it just

0:20:40 > 0:20:45shows you that this isn't just about tennis, it isn't just about sport,

0:20:45 > 0:20:50this is the most sought-after ticket in town, and whoever gets ahold of

0:20:51 > 0:20:54it is trying to get to the best place, the royal box. And it does

0:20:55 > 0:20:59affect you a little bit and you start to wonder what will happen. It

0:20:59 > 0:21:07is going to change my sporting life, and my coming to a different level?

0:21:07 > 0:21:17That am I. -- am I. Having Sir Chris Hoyte, Justine Rose watching him.

0:21:17 > 0:21:19

0:21:19 > 0:21:22They have one the pinnacle of their sport -- Chris Hoy. Even they were

0:21:22 > 0:21:27surprised at what they were watching. And Chris Hoy actually

0:21:27 > 0:21:30flew over to watch him in the final in Australia. And there is the Davis

0:21:30 > 0:21:35Cup captain, probably asking him if he is going to play in September.

0:21:35 > 0:21:45Maybe not just yet! And here he is with his friends and family,

0:21:45 > 0:21:53

0:21:54 > 0:21:59Kim's mother -- wife. Having spent time with that young couple at their

0:21:59 > 0:22:02home, they have such a very special relationship and she has been such a

0:22:02 > 0:22:08stabilising influence for him through what is such a high-profile,

0:22:08 > 0:22:11goldfish bowl existence. She has been asked if she enjoys coming to

0:22:11 > 0:22:16Wimbledon and watching and she says no, she's glad when it's all over.

0:22:16 > 0:22:21But she will be happy now, because he is the champ. I'm sure the agent

0:22:21 > 0:22:26will be very happy as well. That is an understatement! He is rubbing his

0:22:26 > 0:22:34hands together. He was well paid before, but this is going to take

0:22:34 > 0:22:37him into a whole new stratosphere. He is quite a private bloke. He is

0:22:37 > 0:22:44on the phone. I wonder if that is to his grand, because she's not here,

0:22:44 > 0:22:49she broke her hip. -- to his grandmother. In future, she will be

0:22:49 > 0:22:55making him shortbread. She is the best short bread-maker. We use as

0:22:55 > 0:23:01coppers than during the Davis Cup, are used to them all. -- we used to

0:23:01 > 0:23:05scoff them down. Everybody will be trying to talk to him, he's having

0:23:05 > 0:23:10trouble there, but, wow, the first glass of champagne for Kim and I am

0:23:10 > 0:23:15sure there will be many more. The last time Andy had champagne, he

0:23:15 > 0:23:19brushed his teeth with face cream! Having spent so much energy on the

0:23:19 > 0:23:24court, he should eat something, otherwise it is straight to the

0:23:24 > 0:23:27head. Just before we wind up here, put into context the tennis these

0:23:27 > 0:23:35guys have played, not just here but in other Grand Slam matches, with

0:23:35 > 0:23:39Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, is this the new rivalry? I think so. I

0:23:39 > 0:23:43have a lot of respect for Roger Federer and Nadal ruling the clay,

0:23:43 > 0:23:47but overall, over a 12 month period, I think Djokovic and Murray

0:23:47 > 0:23:52are the two most consistent players in the world. And the fact that

0:23:52 > 0:23:57Murray has played in the last four grand slam finals, he played in the

0:23:57 > 0:24:01French, and that Djokovic is the number one player in the world and

0:24:01 > 0:24:05being challenged by Murray, it is going to make all the difference.

0:24:05 > 0:24:09You cannot write Nadal off but with the injuries he has sustained, we

0:24:09 > 0:24:12don't know how bad they are, if you look at the statistics, in the last

0:24:12 > 0:24:17three years, Roger has anyone one Grand Slam, here last year, and Rafa

0:24:17 > 0:24:22has only won one Grand Slam during that period, the French. So these

0:24:22 > 0:24:26two really are quite dominant. think the next three or four years,

0:24:26 > 0:24:31as far as I can see, it will be difficult to prise the Grand Slams

0:24:31 > 0:24:36away from one of these players. Perhaps play with Rafa if he doesn't

0:24:36 > 0:24:43get injured, but otherwise, these two will dominate. What today it has

0:24:43 > 0:24:45been. What was it like in commentary box? Hot and emotional. We were

0:24:46 > 0:24:50drained watching it. Obviously we love Djokovic, he is a great

0:24:50 > 0:24:57champion and we respect him so much but obviously, most of the viewers,

0:24:57 > 0:25:01we wanted to see Murray win, of course. So we were hitting the ball

0:25:01 > 0:25:06is back and forth, Andrew and Tim and me. And the quality of the

0:25:06 > 0:25:09tennis, it was a great match to watch. Outstanding, between the two

0:25:09 > 0:25:15best players in the world, and it kept going back and forth. It was a

0:25:15 > 0:25:193-set match that felt like a five set match with the drama. It was

0:25:19 > 0:25:22epic. Thank you so much. We do have more tennis, we are going to Centre

0:25:22 > 0:25:29Court with one more final to come. Before that, though, we will be

0:25:29 > 0:25:34following Andy Murray tonight. If you want to see highlights of that

0:25:34 > 0:25:41match and enjoy it again, it is on BBC One at 10:25pm, so enjoy John

0:25:41 > 0:25:44for Today At Wimbledon. And we have been following Andy Murray for the

0:25:44 > 0:25:50last few months, what a fairy tale ending to the documentary tomorrow

0:25:50 > 0:25:54night. So more behind-the-scenes footage and also what has been

0:25:55 > 0:25:58happening to him today, and what a day it has been. So let's head to

0:25:58 > 0:26:02day it has been. So let's head to Centre Court now and join the Mixed

0:26:02 > 0:26:05Doubles final. The last remaining final in Wimbledon. It looks as

0:26:05 > 0:26:08though a few of the fans have gone through a lie down after that as

0:26:08 > 0:26:15through a lie down after that as well. It is the number one seed

0:26:15 > 0:26:18against the number eight scenes. Bruno Soares and Lisa Raymond up

0:26:18 > 0:26:28against their store and Mladenovic. Let's join Virginia Wade and Mick

0:26:28 > 0:26:57

0:26:57 > 0:27:02for about 15 minutes. Bruno Soares Daniel Nestor, the joint Canadian,

0:27:02 > 0:27:07was the first to lose his, but in the immediate game that followed,

0:27:07 > 0:27:17Lisa Raymond also coughed up hers, so we are back on serve. One or two

0:27:17 > 0:27:36

0:27:36 > 0:27:40issues for the 31-year-old coming across the court, the ball

0:27:40 > 0:27:50comes out of the shadow into the brightness and it is actually quite

0:27:50 > 0:28:02

0:28:02 > 0:28:07difficult to see a ball, especially they found themselves in. Not ready

0:28:07 > 0:28:16in truth just get to bring the party to a close and draw a line under the

0:28:16 > 0:28:18most extraordinary Wimbledon any of us can ever remember. -- just yet.

0:28:18 > 0:28:24An unbelievable fortnight, and as the shadows lengthen on Centre

0:28:24 > 0:28:29Court, one match left to play. And it seems appropriate having just

0:28:29 > 0:28:35seen Andy Murray win the Men's Singles that we have a word with you

0:28:35 > 0:28:40as, before that, the last Briton to win a final in 1977. What were you

0:28:40 > 0:28:46living watching Andy win the title? All I was thinking was, you know,

0:28:46 > 0:28:53let's get it over with. You didn't want attention to come back in. And

0:28:53 > 0:29:00suddenly Djokovic relaxed at the end of the match -- the tension. I'm

0:29:00 > 0:29:05just so thrilled for Andy. I mean, who isn't? This number of years that

0:29:05 > 0:29:10everybody reminds him of every single time, so it is over now. Now

0:29:10 > 0:29:14he is a champion and now here's Wimbledon champion and you can't

0:29:14 > 0:29:23hope for anything better. Everything is almost complete, except he will

0:29:23 > 0:29:33probably come back and do it next Daniel Nestor. A Canadian

0:29:33 > 0:29:33

0:29:33 > 0:30:14Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

0:30:14 > 0:30:17left-hander, he has 1040 since he new generation of French players. It

0:30:17 > 0:30:27has been a very good weekend for French tennis on Centre Court so

0:30:27 > 0:30:28

0:30:28 > 0:30:34far. That was the most comprehensive service game we have seen so far.

0:30:34 > 0:30:39Nestor's wife, Natasha. I would have thought that Marion Bartoli would

0:30:39 > 0:30:43creep in and watch some of this match. She has been around, getting

0:30:43 > 0:30:53all psyched for the dinner tonight. She said she was wearing 15

0:30:53 > 0:30:59

0:30:59 > 0:31:02about five foot seven. More! There was a pair of shoes in the dressing

0:31:02 > 0:31:12room that had the highest heels I have ever seen, and she said the

0:31:12 > 0:31:26

0:31:26 > 0:31:31ones she were going dubbed as she let's have a view from you about the

0:31:31 > 0:31:38noise that was in here. It was primeval. How did that compare with

0:31:38 > 0:31:481977, and the moment you had your head in your hands, just having one?

0:31:48 > 0:31:58

0:31:58 > 0:32:02-- just having won? It was genteel is. You can't hear anything when the

0:32:02 > 0:32:10whole place is erupting in applause. I don't think you really know what's

0:32:10 > 0:32:15going on, because you are so swept away with, you know, just the

0:32:15 > 0:32:23fact... You can't even believe it has happened! It takes a while for

0:32:23 > 0:32:27it to sink in. And Andy must have been exhausted, because that was

0:32:27 > 0:32:34some gruelling match today, and the temperatures that were out here, and

0:32:34 > 0:32:44the long rallies. I know it was only three sets, but that was some of the

0:32:44 > 0:32:46

0:32:46 > 0:32:56most tortuous tennis in those three sets. She has some shots in this

0:32:56 > 0:32:56

0:32:56 > 0:33:01game, Kristina Mladenovic! All elegance and power. And precision.

0:33:01 > 0:33:11Nice and early, and took it beautifully. The early years of her

0:33:11 > 0:33:21career, vying with Laura Robson for the best player. Another Crackerjack

0:33:21 > 0:33:56

0:33:56 > 0:34:06rather invitingly. You would think that was quite a difficult shot. He

0:34:06 > 0:34:12

0:34:12 > 0:34:21just angled it off, reverse angle. Reyes! Soares is an awfully good

0:34:21 > 0:34:26doubles player. -- a good shot from Soares. He did so well in the US

0:34:26 > 0:34:36Open. It was a team that just happened to be put together at the

0:34:36 > 0:34:43

0:34:43 > 0:34:51her sleep! Soares one that title in New York with another doubles

0:34:51 > 0:35:01partner. It was his only previous Grand Slam final. He doesn't have

0:35:01 > 0:35:08

0:35:08 > 0:35:14the experience of Nestor and between Soares and Raymond. They

0:35:14 > 0:35:20have been busy learning how the other likes to dance on a tennis

0:35:20 > 0:35:22court. But they are through to the final here in just the second Grand

0:35:22 > 0:35:30Slam they have played together. They reached the last eight at Roland

0:35:30 > 0:35:35Garros. It takes a while to build up the synchronicity you and Margaret

0:35:35 > 0:35:39Court had on the tennis court. is no question that you have to find

0:35:40 > 0:35:44the right partner. You have to have a game that complements the other

0:35:44 > 0:35:51person 's game. We were watching a wonderful women's doubles last

0:35:51 > 0:35:59night. It was the young Australian, Ashleigh Barty. Really riveting and

0:35:59 > 0:36:06very impressive. She is one to watch. She's turned up! We knew the

0:36:06 > 0:36:12champion wouldn't let us down! She's had a busy 24 hours, but she's out

0:36:12 > 0:36:15here supporting her mate. We knew she would! She was jumping up and

0:36:15 > 0:36:25down, rooting for Andy, saying that she wanted to be in the pictures

0:36:25 > 0:36:37

0:36:37 > 0:36:41served a double fault. Marion said that she has to go to Paris and do a

0:36:41 > 0:36:51huge amount of press tomorrow. Then she's got a few weeks off. She needs

0:36:51 > 0:37:03

0:37:03 > 0:37:13UMPIRE: Nestor and Mladenovic are challenging the call. The umpire is

0:37:13 > 0:37:33

0:37:33 > 0:37:39Great Britain's Kelly Thompson. It only registered 99 miles an hour,

0:37:39 > 0:37:47bit because she is serving from so wide, it is not going to be as quick

0:37:47 > 0:37:52as if she was serving in a singles position. I did wonder how the

0:37:52 > 0:37:57nerves might affect, this being her first ever grand slam final. A

0:37:57 > 0:38:03special moment. But we know what happened to poor old Sabine the

0:38:03 > 0:38:08Bikey -- Sabine Lisicki yesterday. Having watched the whole of that

0:38:09 > 0:38:18singles final from the players box, she got a feel of what the

0:38:19 > 0:38:27

0:38:27 > 0:38:32point. She's so quick at the net. But I have to say that that was a

0:38:32 > 0:38:42very quick hand from the other side of the net, on the left-handed

0:38:42 > 0:39:02

0:39:02 > 0:39:12early, as it was the second serve. It was such a good serve, it caught

0:39:12 > 0:39:50

0:39:51 > 0:39:55Mladenovic for the first time a few years ago, when she was here as a

0:39:55 > 0:40:0516-year-old. She was the world 's top junior then. She was vying for

0:40:05 > 0:40:08

0:40:08 > 0:40:13that honour with... Laura Robson. For so long. Laura is just a little

0:40:13 > 0:40:17bit younger, and Laura is definitely the highest ranked of the teenagers.

0:40:17 > 0:40:27But they are all going to be very much in evidence, I would think, by

0:40:27 > 0:40:34

0:40:34 > 0:40:37this time next year, we are going to have a whole group of really

0:40:37 > 0:40:45successful young players in the women's side, and I am talking about

0:40:45 > 0:40:49people like Sloane Stephens. You get a sense that there is a changing of

0:40:49 > 0:40:58the guard going on. There is a wonderful spread from all different

0:40:58 > 0:41:04parts of the world, of very talented teenagers. There's no question that

0:41:04 > 0:41:11Mladenovic is leading the way in France. There is another very

0:41:11 > 0:41:21talented French June. I think she is still a junior. -- very talented

0:41:21 > 0:41:28

0:41:28 > 0:41:34French junior. She is just having a with the sun in the eye! The Sun

0:41:34 > 0:41:39just tricky, always. You come on late in the evening to play doubles,

0:41:39 > 0:41:45and the shadows are creeping on fast. Especially when it is a

0:41:45 > 0:41:52bright, sunny day. And we always want more of those! A special year,

0:41:52 > 0:41:56this year, for this event. Celebrating its centenary. 100 years

0:41:56 > 0:42:02of Mixed Doubles here at Wimbledon. I wonder if you could name the

0:42:02 > 0:42:12British pair who won it in 1913? I will buy you a very fine case of

0:42:12 > 0:42:14

0:42:15 > 0:42:23wine! Lottie Dodd and...He won't remember! Hope crisp and Agnes

0:42:23 > 0:42:33Tuckey. We offer our warmest congratulations to them. Some of

0:42:33 > 0:42:37

0:42:37 > 0:42:42tennis' greatest names have won this title. Rod Laver Arena, in the 50s.

0:42:42 > 0:42:52Jamie Murray and Jelena Jankovic more recently. How many times did

0:42:52 > 0:42:57

0:42:58 > 0:43:02Billie Jean King win the mixed? is when Mladenovic has been

0:43:02 > 0:43:07reluctant to take that volley in the middle of the court. After all, if

0:43:07 > 0:43:15you are playing with a guy who has long arms and legs, it should help

0:43:15 > 0:43:25you out. Mind you, she's 6-foot tall herself. She exposes her right flank

0:43:25 > 0:43:46

0:43:46 > 0:43:56his third Wimbledon title. A couple in the Men's Doubles with Nenad

0:43:56 > 0:44:10

0:44:10 > 0:44:15Zimonjic. 2008, 2009. Olympic gold From the Bahamas. He has been

0:44:15 > 0:44:25playing tennis for the best part of 20 years now. Daniel Nestor has been

0:44:25 > 0:44:40

0:44:40 > 0:44:48of the doubles player. He knows how to work a tennis court when it is

0:44:48 > 0:44:56twice as populated! He knows how to use the gaps and find the angles.

0:44:56 > 0:44:58have seen some wonderful doubles. I think so many people enjoyed

0:44:58 > 0:44:58think so many people enjoyed watching doubles. It has become the

0:44:58 > 0:45:04think so many people enjoyed watching doubles. It has become of

0:45:04 > 0:45:14the game these days, which is a pity. Wimbledon is one of the few

0:45:14 > 0:45:14

0:45:14 > 0:46:02Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

0:46:02 > 0:46:07places that really highlight Good pick up there. Good reach by

0:46:07 > 0:46:17Soares, who really likes to close in. You have to know what you are

0:46:17 > 0:46:32

0:46:32 > 0:46:38doing if you get that close to the than the nets that they play with in

0:46:38 > 0:46:41general around the world. On hard courts, especially in the States,

0:46:41 > 0:46:51the nets are very tight. So you wouldn't get the effect of the net

0:46:51 > 0:46:52

0:46:52 > 0:47:39Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

0:47:39 > 0:47:49line so many times with great success. She has hit some very sweet

0:47:49 > 0:48:00

0:48:00 > 0:48:04peaches on that wing in this final UMPIRE: Nestor and Miss Mladenovic

0:48:04 > 0:48:14are challenging the call on the baseline. That was such a deceptive

0:48:14 > 0:48:23

0:48:23 > 0:48:31shot. He thought it was going to little bit longer. So here's the

0:48:31 > 0:48:39list of the prize money for the winners of this event. Winners per

0:48:39 > 0:48:43pair get 300,000 between them. So 150,000 each. Runners-up will be

0:48:43 > 0:48:50guaranteed 75,000 each. So there is a decent pot at the end of it.

0:48:50 > 0:48:58really is. I was saying that Soares came through and won the US Open

0:48:58 > 0:49:05last year. He hadn't had a fantastic year. He had a makeshift - if I can

0:49:05 > 0:49:11call it that - partnership, because neither had a partner. They had to

0:49:11 > 0:49:15get their name into the draw as fast as possible. They just put their

0:49:15 > 0:49:23names together, won the tournament, and he virtually doubled his prize

0:49:23 > 0:49:27money for the year. He's gone from strength. He had always done well

0:49:27 > 0:49:37with Marcelo Melo, another Brazilian. But a little lean on the

0:49:37 > 0:50:05

0:50:05 > 0:50:15prize-money? Just a little bit! I is that right? There is and is

0:50:15 > 0:50:19

0:50:19 > 0:50:24line. She has a whole pile of them in her fruit bowl, and she just

0:50:24 > 0:50:32picks them out now and again. If they were playing in the gentleman

0:50:32 > 0:50:42's and Ladies' Doubles, they would be on 150 ground -- 150 ground. This

0:50:42 > 0:50:46

0:50:46 > 0:50:51one, they are on 46. Each?Yes. The first prize is 92,000. It is worth

0:50:51 > 0:51:01getting out of bed for! Worth staying around and enjoying the

0:51:01 > 0:51:23

0:51:23 > 0:51:26Bartoli got yesterday. Or what Andy about the prize-money at Wimbledon.

0:51:27 > 0:51:32Wimbledon once to be the best tournament in the world from every

0:51:32 > 0:51:42point of view. They have worked very hard to raise the prize-money this

0:51:42 > 0:52:06

0:52:06 > 0:52:16year. Particularly for the earlier Raymond right there. This becomes a

0:52:16 > 0:52:38

0:52:38 > 0:52:44miscommunication between Nestor and Mladenovic. If she was serving out

0:52:45 > 0:52:49wide there, resume and Clichy would have told him to watch his line. --

0:52:50 > 0:52:59presumably she would have told him. Now there is a chance for Soares and

0:53:00 > 0:53:11

0:53:11 > 0:53:18UMPIRE: Game and first set to Soares and Miss Raymond. And the top seeds

0:53:18 > 0:53:22are ahead. Justifying the faith put in them by the seedings committee at

0:53:22 > 0:53:27the start of these championships. Yet to drop a set on the road to

0:53:27 > 0:53:32this final. That remains the case here against Daniel Nestor and

0:53:32 > 0:53:40Kristina Mladenovic. That was a very good reaction volley from Bruno

0:53:40 > 0:53:45Soares. Looks like it is the hardest volley to make, that oft volley, but

0:53:45 > 0:53:52what a great shot. We were talking about Billie Jean King's record in

0:53:52 > 0:54:01the Mixed Doubles, Virginia, and you mentioned the partnership she had

0:54:01 > 0:54:11with the Australian, Owen Davidson. She won the mixed four times.

0:54:11 > 0:54:13

0:54:13 > 0:54:21Owen every time? Yes. What was your record in the mixed? Don't ask me! I

0:54:22 > 0:54:26played with John fees that and a couple of others. You liked playing

0:54:26 > 0:54:31with Margaret Court in the doubles, didn't you? Yes. I just had to keep

0:54:31 > 0:54:41the ball in, and she did a rest. I had to serve well and chip my

0:54:41 > 0:54:47

0:54:47 > 0:54:57return. She was such a good player, yourself. You one grand slam titles

0:54:57 > 0:55:11

0:55:11 > 0:55:17with the great Margaret Court. shot! We've been saying how well

0:55:17 > 0:55:27she's been hitting the ball down the line. It is a sort of a hook shot

0:55:27 > 0:55:50

0:55:50 > 0:55:54title she won 12 months ago in the company of Mike Bryan. He put all of

0:55:54 > 0:56:04his effort into winning the men's title this year, with his brother.

0:56:04 > 0:56:29

0:56:29 > 0:56:32Raymond there, because she knew that was hers straight down the middle.

0:56:32 > 0:56:38The reverse happens when the ball comes straight out of that little

0:56:39 > 0:56:48patch of son into the dark. You just lose sight of it. So fortunately,

0:56:49 > 0:56:57

0:56:57 > 0:57:00her partner helped her out, and she Raymond has been coming here for

0:57:00 > 0:57:05over 20 years now. An incredible durability and desire to keep

0:57:05 > 0:57:09competing here at the highest level. She initially made her name

0:57:09 > 0:57:16as a singles player, you might remember. All the weight to the

0:57:16 > 0:57:20fourth round in her debut in 93. The year that Pete Sampras beat Jim

0:57:20 > 0:57:27Courier to the Wimbledon title. They year that every few of us in this

0:57:27 > 0:57:37country thought that a Briton would ever win the Wimbledon 's --

0:57:37 > 0:57:41Wimbledon singles title. Lisa Raymond was such a talented player,

0:57:41 > 0:57:47and her singles game had some good points, but she could never become

0:57:47 > 0:57:57as good a singles player as she is a doubles player. She is a superb

0:57:57 > 0:58:13

0:58:13 > 0:58:23doubles player. Another ball of a very good young player here

0:58:23 > 0:58:45

0:58:45 > 0:58:51this evening, and Kristina position to hit that shot. Nestor

0:58:51 > 0:58:56has missed a couple of shots, surprisingly. This is a very nice

0:58:56 > 0:59:06return. He was jammed by it. I was surprised that Nestor didn't at

0:59:06 > 0:59:07

0:59:07 > 0:59:56Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

0:59:56 > 1:00:00UMPIRE: Game, Nestor and Miss the serve looks like it might have

1:00:00 > 1:00:06the serve looks like it might have missed. He's looking to see if there

1:00:06 > 1:00:16is white on the ball, where it hit the line. But he made a slight

1:00:16 > 1:00:23

1:00:23 > 1:00:33misjudgement, he should have been Lisa Raymond, but then she came back

1:00:33 > 1:00:53

1:00:53 > 1:00:59and served well. 0-30 is a bit of with going down the line as often as

1:00:59 > 1:01:03she is. It is usually such a good tactic to hit them a line to keep

1:01:03 > 1:01:13the person at the net honest and stop them from fading towards the

1:01:13 > 1:01:52

1:01:52 > 1:01:57points. And they are a couple who eighth seeds, who looked to be a

1:01:57 > 1:02:00pretty potent combination since they came together. They have seen off

1:02:00 > 1:02:10some fancy partnerships. They did for the second seeds in the

1:02:10 > 1:02:18the semifinals, we thought that might be it but they won that one

1:02:18 > 1:02:28and they are tweaking the tale of the top seeds. I am assuming that

1:02:28 > 1:02:31

1:02:31 > 1:02:38they -- Kristina Mladenovic, both of her parents being athletes, she

1:02:38 > 1:02:45speaks not only French, but Serbian Italian and Spanish. Daniel Nestor

1:02:45 > 1:02:49speaks English, coming from Canada, maybe Canadian, and as he was born

1:02:49 > 1:02:59in Belgrade, maybe Serbian. So what do you think? We will have to

1:02:59 > 1:03:28

1:03:28 > 1:03:34operating on her own. She has had so promising to me in the last few

1:03:34 > 1:03:38years. I'm surprised her singles has not gone soaring up. But there is

1:03:38 > 1:03:48still time. I mean, a lot of the players these days are developing

1:03:48 > 1:03:54

1:03:54 > 1:04:00more at 20 and they are at 17. -- their late 20s rather than their

1:04:00 > 1:04:10early 20s. Although she did get the of Wimbledon... In 2007.Yes, six

1:04:10 > 1:04:43

1:04:43 > 1:04:53the line, hoping against hope that She has served well but I think that

1:04:53 > 1:04:53

1:04:53 > 1:05:44Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:05:44 > 1:05:54If you are interested in following her, I'm sure she will be glad to

1:05:54 > 1:06:12

1:06:12 > 1:06:22have you. She is a great girl, Raymond and then from her Brazilian

1:06:22 > 1:06:22

1:06:22 > 1:06:32partner. How long was it... It might take some time for him to get over

1:06:32 > 1:06:33

1:06:33 > 1:06:42the impact of it all is well, he has Daniel Nestor. They have begun to

1:06:42 > 1:06:52really turn it on this set. It all happened when they come at this team

1:06:52 > 1:07:25

1:07:25 > 1:07:35of Raymond and Soares, lost Lisa poorly but once again, the down the

1:07:35 > 1:07:50

1:07:50 > 1:07:53line returned from Mladenovic, a the follow-up... Yes. Nestor

1:07:53 > 1:08:03definitely finding his range now and that was by far the best return he

1:08:03 > 1:08:03

1:08:03 > 1:08:46Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:08:47 > 1:08:51get the double break and that might be enough to win them this set. You

1:08:51 > 1:08:54were talking about the moment when it hit you, the fact that it might

1:08:54 > 1:09:00not yet have hit Marion Bartoli that she's Wimbledon champion. When did

1:09:00 > 1:09:05it happen to you in 1977? Were you getting out of bed and having a cup

1:09:05 > 1:09:11of tea? When did you wallow in the glory of it all, just you? All I

1:09:11 > 1:09:16know is that, people asked me if I have come down from Cloud nine and

1:09:16 > 1:09:21you never do. It does make a dramatic difference to your life if

1:09:21 > 1:09:28you are a tennis player, because, you know, Wimbledon is just such a

1:09:28 > 1:09:32goal to aim for. It just means everything to a tennis player. I

1:09:32 > 1:09:36mean, obviously, the other Grand Slams are fantastic and for somebody

1:09:36 > 1:09:43coming from the States, possibly the US Open is their greatest ambition

1:09:43 > 1:09:49and if you are French, maybe the French is, but Wimbledon still is

1:09:49 > 1:09:59such a classic event and it means everything in tennis. The sun is

1:09:59 > 1:10:16

1:10:16 > 1:10:22starting to set on what has perhaps a long time for the people who have

1:10:22 > 1:10:32enjoyed it this year to enjoy anything quite like it again.

1:10:32 > 1:11:10

1:11:10 > 1:11:16Nestor and Mladenovic taking control He has been throwing in a good

1:11:16 > 1:11:26variety of first-serveds. Some slower kickers and then this one has

1:11:26 > 1:11:54

1:11:54 > 1:12:04a bit of kick on it but it was quick for Lisa Raymond to win a point.

1:12:04 > 1:12:31

1:12:31 > 1:12:35They need to get back in this set her bike and win this service game,

1:12:35 > 1:12:43because they don't want to be starting the third set with the

1:12:44 > 1:12:51others serving first and... And all of the momentum going their way.

1:12:51 > 1:13:01That is a good start. They have been on court for one hour and one minute

1:13:01 > 1:13:01

1:13:01 > 1:13:53Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:13:53 > 1:13:56SUE BARKER: We are staying with this match at Centre Court for the moment

1:13:56 > 1:13:59but the news is, Andy Murray, the new Wimbledon champion, will be

1:14:00 > 1:14:04joining me in the studio very soon. Just finishing some media

1:14:04 > 1:14:07commitments downstairs and we will be joining Andy live in the studio

1:14:07 > 1:14:17and hopefully that will be in the next 15 minutes or so. Stay tuned

1:14:17 > 1:14:26

1:14:26 > 1:14:29for that, but enjoy the match in the be a busy boy for the next 24

1:14:29 > 1:14:33hours, the next 24 years! It is so exhausting out there and then having

1:14:33 > 1:14:39to talk to the entire world. Everybody wants a piece of you. Sue

1:14:39 > 1:14:42Barker deserves the biggest piece of him, for our coverage. A little

1:14:42 > 1:14:52sliver of sunshine left on Centre Court and this is Mladenovic serving

1:14:52 > 1:15:30

1:15:30 > 1:15:40net that he sometimes comes in and has devised a very difficult low

1:15:40 > 1:16:18

1:16:18 > 1:16:22volley -- has to face. And that has a fitting conclusion and we are

1:16:22 > 1:16:25going to get one, we are going to get a third set in this Mixed

1:16:25 > 1:16:33Doubles final. Nestor and Mladenovic working their way back beautifully

1:16:33 > 1:16:39into it. I was just thinking the same, it does deserve a third set. A

1:16:39 > 1:16:44magnificent summer evening. Centre Court at Wimbledon. I think people

1:16:44 > 1:16:50are really reluctant to have the tournament end, and it has... What

1:16:50 > 1:16:56an end it has been, what a climax, what a euphoric climax it has been

1:16:56 > 1:16:59already today. And yet you don't want to go. I think we all wondered

1:16:59 > 1:17:05whether, after the Olympics and Paralympics last year, with this

1:17:05 > 1:17:09country could quite recreate that. And Wimbledon, to a large extent

1:17:09 > 1:17:12this year, has done its absolute best. And it does feel just like the

1:17:12 > 1:17:18Olympics, the last day of the Olympics, when nobody wanted to come

1:17:18 > 1:17:23to an end. We have all got to go to work tomorrow. But there is still a

1:17:23 > 1:17:28little bit sweetness -- of sweetness left, a little bit of light for one

1:17:28 > 1:17:38last set. And it will be the Brazilian Bruno Soares who has the

1:17:38 > 1:17:56

1:17:56 > 1:18:02Soares, because Lisa Raymond and he just need to get going a bit again.

1:18:02 > 1:18:10And that is Dr Walter Bartoli, who came in, Marion's father, came in to

1:18:10 > 1:18:20watch her in the final... Everybody was a little worried that his

1:18:20 > 1:18:25

1:18:25 > 1:18:33appearance might make it tends. -- the tournament getting better and

1:18:33 > 1:18:39better and was even better in the final. That just might be the best

1:18:39 > 1:18:44of a very high quality selection from Mladenovic. So many she has

1:18:44 > 1:18:49gone down the line it is quite a surprise when she goes crosscourt.

1:18:49 > 1:18:52She is a good striker of the ball. Maybe she is a little bit flat and

1:18:52 > 1:19:02as she develops as a singles player, she will learn to put a little more

1:19:02 > 1:19:25

1:19:25 > 1:19:32power, but you just need some margin delight in the contrast between her

1:19:32 > 1:19:42last two shots. That enormous how wet star the forehand and then this.

1:19:42 > 1:19:42

1:19:42 > 1:20:27Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:20:27 > 1:20:37Soares living a bit dangerously. -- it easy on the men are Rover. I

1:20:37 > 1:20:41

1:20:41 > 1:20:48supposed to supposed to respond to court at the moment, make no

1:20:48 > 1:20:58mistake. Once again, Bruno Soares has had to scoop the ball back from

1:20:58 > 1:20:58

1:20:58 > 1:22:32Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:22:33 > 1:22:42crack that return well of his has been incredible but that was not

1:22:43 > 1:23:04

1:23:04 > 1:23:09speak about as a singles player, I think it is fair to say. A career

1:23:09 > 1:23:12high of 221 in the rankings, which tells you a fair amount. I think he

1:23:12 > 1:23:17knew from a fairly early stage that if he was to enjoy big days like

1:23:17 > 1:23:22this, then doubles was where he was going to be. And he has enjoyed a

1:23:22 > 1:23:32fabulous couple of years. He has 14 tournaments this year. And here he

1:23:32 > 1:23:46

1:23:46 > 1:23:51what to do with doubles. We really appreciated here at Wimbledon, and

1:23:51 > 1:23:57there are five sets in the men's. Whereas other tournaments have

1:23:57 > 1:24:05registered to three, hoping to get more of the top names playing. But

1:24:05 > 1:24:08the doubles specialists are so good at doubles that if you put in one of

1:24:08 > 1:24:18the top singles players, they would probably have their work cut out to

1:24:18 > 1:24:43

1:24:44 > 1:24:50fortysomething at the moment. The problem with trying to persuade the

1:24:51 > 1:24:55best players to take part is, if, for example, Andy Murray fancies

1:24:55 > 1:25:00having a go at doubles and makes it to the final here, 24 hours before

1:25:00 > 1:25:03playing the singles final, he would have been on a doubles court, which

1:25:03 > 1:25:13would not be ideal. It is a big quandary and nothing is going to

1:25:13 > 1:25:22

1:25:22 > 1:25:30Raymond's second serve not quite powerful enough against the

1:25:30 > 1:25:40considerable power of Mladenovic. That ball was just coming at Bruno

1:25:40 > 1:25:57

1:25:57 > 1:26:01first week of Wimbledon, but it is not any good for the second week.

1:26:01 > 1:26:04SUE BARKER: We are going to leave Centre Court, if you want to

1:26:04 > 1:26:07continue watching this final, it continues on the red button. But

1:26:07 > 1:26:17everyone was arriving here at Wimbledon on men's final day hoping

1:26:17 > 1:26:29

1:26:29 > 1:26:35his three Wimbledon crowns. -- won. Since then, 70 Wimbledon Men's

1:26:35 > 1:26:41Singles titles have been contested. The United States lead the way with

1:26:41 > 1:26:5127 wins. Australia are next with 16 victories. Then comes Sweden with

1:26:51 > 1:26:52

1:26:52 > 1:26:56seven. And Switzerland with seven. Germany have four, and Spain three.

1:26:56 > 1:27:02The remaining six titles are shared amongst six countries, including

1:27:03 > 1:27:07Croatia and Serbia. From Perry to the present, the home fans have

1:27:07 > 1:27:17experienced... 77 years of expectation. 77 years of close

1:27:17 > 1:27:20

1:27:20 > 1:27:25calls. 77 years of pain. To you, we salute your patience. For at the

1:27:25 > 1:27:3271st attempt, congratulations, Britain. The wait is finally over.

1:27:32 > 1:27:40He is a third of the way there. Emphatic or what? The waiting is

1:27:40 > 1:27:48over! Andy Murray is the Wimbledon SUE BARKER: Will you ever get tired

1:27:49 > 1:27:52of looking at that? I hope not. I'm pretty tired right now, but not of

1:27:52 > 1:27:58seeing that. You were just saying you went down to do your press and

1:27:58 > 1:28:02bent down to doping and it sort of hit you. Yes, I did the press and

1:28:03 > 1:28:08then I went to do the drug test being and, yes, it literally just

1:28:08 > 1:28:14hit me. I got so, so tired very quickly. I have got a long night

1:28:14 > 1:28:18ahead of me and unfortunately, I could do with a little sleep.

1:28:18 > 1:28:23won't let you do that just yet, because we want to hear what it was.

1:28:23 > 1:28:25I can understand why you feel so tired, I don't think anyone can

1:28:25 > 1:28:32really understand the pressure and emotions you go through that is so

1:28:32 > 1:28:36draining, on top of a match of such high quality. Yes, I think I was

1:28:36 > 1:28:44feeling OK until towards the end of the third set. Some of the rallies

1:28:44 > 1:28:48in the games were getting just ridiculous. That last game, I think

1:28:48 > 1:28:52that pretty much took everything out of me, because I was saying, at the

1:28:52 > 1:28:57time, it will probably be the toughest game I will ever play

1:28:57 > 1:29:01mentally in my career, having missed three match points and not finishing

1:29:01 > 1:29:08it there and saving a couple of break points and he came out with a

1:29:08 > 1:29:12couple of great pick-ups, and one shot of the neck, -- off the net

1:29:12 > 1:29:16cord, I didn't know what was going to happen. But I managed to finish

1:29:16 > 1:29:20it. You didn't remember it on court, but let's show you that match

1:29:20 > 1:29:30point and how you finished it off. As you said, he even got back that

1:29:30 > 1:29:37serve. Yes, it was a great serve I hit there as well. I thought it was

1:29:37 > 1:29:43going to go along, it dropped in. I did an interview just after the

1:29:43 > 1:29:49match and I saw the point back and I had no idea what had happened.

1:29:49 > 1:29:54what a great match, what a finish and what an emotional finish, for

1:29:54 > 1:29:57you, for your family, for everyone that is involved with you. It is

1:29:57 > 1:30:06everything you have worked for, and I think the crowd said it all, what

1:30:06 > 1:30:10it means to all of us as well. tough to get the words out when you

1:30:10 > 1:30:18are speaking after the match. A lot of people have worked very hard with

1:30:18 > 1:30:26me, for me, for the last 15 years in my life. Obviously, firstly my

1:30:26 > 1:30:30family, and then coaches and staff. It was great to be able to do it for

1:30:30 > 1:30:37them. They have obviously been through a lot with me and seen a lot

1:30:37 > 1:30:43of tough losses and tough moments. To finally do that in front of them,

1:30:43 > 1:30:47with all of them watching, was great. I have never felt such energy

1:30:47 > 1:30:54and passion out there on Centre Court. This was after the match. Did

1:30:54 > 1:31:01you not feel what the crowd... didn't know what to do with myself!

1:31:01 > 1:31:06It was so loud. It has been such a long road. For a British player to

1:31:06 > 1:31:13do that, it was a long wait. The noise levels during the match was

1:31:13 > 1:31:19unbelievable. It was similar to the Olympics. The best atmosphere I have

1:31:19 > 1:31:25ever played in at Wimbledon. It was so loud. Then the referee comes up

1:31:25 > 1:31:30and says, do you want to go up? I asked if I could. I knew I had

1:31:30 > 1:31:37taken quite a long time after the match point, and I asked if I was

1:31:37 > 1:31:44allowed to go up really quick. can take your time! Boy, we have

1:31:44 > 1:31:48waited long enough for this! It is so important, I know, for you to get

1:31:48 > 1:31:53up there, and also for Kim, who has been such a great supporter and such

1:31:53 > 1:31:59a stable implements for you for so many years. For all of the guys and

1:31:59 > 1:32:04my family that were there, they have seen me, what I was like after last

1:32:04 > 1:32:09years final. It is the same team I've got with me. They saw how I was

1:32:09 > 1:32:16after that, and they deserve all the credit for actually picking me up

1:32:16 > 1:32:20for that -- from that defeat, because it was really tough one.

1:32:21 > 1:32:27Getting to do that with the guys I work hard with day in, day out was

1:32:27 > 1:32:33really special. Ivan, as you said on court, for everything he has gone

1:32:33 > 1:32:37through, it was so special for him that you won the trophy. As a

1:32:37 > 1:32:41player, it was something he really wanted to achieve. I don't think it

1:32:41 > 1:32:45is something that annoys him now, because he did everything he could

1:32:45 > 1:32:49to try and win it. He missed the French Open for a couple of years to

1:32:49 > 1:32:55try and win it. For him, this is the next best thing. He stayed away from

1:32:55 > 1:33:00the game for a long time, and he believed in me when a lot of people

1:33:00 > 1:33:04didn't. You would have been in trouble if you didn't see mum!

1:33:04 > 1:33:09forget her and she was squealing for me to come over! She has been with

1:33:09 > 1:33:14you right from the word go, and she talked about the sacrifice of

1:33:15 > 1:33:19letting you go as such a youngster to Spain. As a mum, it was

1:33:19 > 1:33:25difficult. For my parents, that was tough, but it was something I felt I

1:33:25 > 1:33:31needed to do if I wanted to become a top tennis player. I wasn't getting

1:33:31 > 1:33:36what I needed training in Scotland. I needed to go elsewhere to try and

1:33:36 > 1:33:42pursue that career. As parents, letting your son go abroad at 15

1:33:42 > 1:33:46years old is not easy. And getting your hands on the trophy. You talked

1:33:46 > 1:33:51about it. You dreamt that you had won it last year and you lost. Did

1:33:51 > 1:33:57you have a dream about it this time? Yes, it was a weird dream. I

1:33:57 > 1:34:01woke up this morning and I thought I was playing against Radek Stepanek

1:34:01 > 1:34:06in the final, and obviously, it dawned on me that I was playing

1:34:07 > 1:34:11against Novak. That was the dream I had last night. I hadn't dreamt

1:34:11 > 1:34:19whether I had won or lost the match or anything. A lot of different

1:34:19 > 1:34:23thoughts going through my head the last 24 hours. Boy, to see you

1:34:23 > 1:34:27holding that trophy, it was a special moment. Yes. It is something

1:34:27 > 1:34:32that I have worked... You have probably walked past the trophy so

1:34:32 > 1:34:37often when you have been training here. Yes. Just before Queen's

1:34:37 > 1:34:41started and during the French Open, I spent a bit of time looking at the

1:34:42 > 1:34:49trophies. I had walked out onto Centre Court a few times when there

1:34:49 > 1:34:57had been no crowds there. It was so great to finally get my hands on it.

1:34:57 > 1:35:03You dropped the lid once! And seeing so many famous faces there in the

1:35:03 > 1:35:08Royal Box and in your box. Sir Chris Hoy, Justin Rose... There were also

1:35:08 > 1:35:12some very passionate fans out on the Hill who had been camping out for

1:35:12 > 1:35:17two days just to get here. They wouldn't get into Centre Court, they

1:35:17 > 1:35:21had to sit here. And this was their reaction outside. Could you hear

1:35:21 > 1:35:25them in Centre Court? You can hear them during the match, because

1:35:25 > 1:35:29sometimes when it goes quiet on Centre Court, I guess they cut to

1:35:30 > 1:35:36the hilt. And they scream. You can definitely hear them. From what I

1:35:36 > 1:35:42was told, the atmosphere on the Hill had been incredible on the last few

1:35:42 > 1:35:46days. It's a shame it is not a 50,000 seat stadium and everyone

1:35:46 > 1:35:51could come in. It is just amazing that so many people stayed just to

1:35:51 > 1:35:56come and watch it on the hill. were quite a few watching in

1:35:57 > 1:36:01Dunblane as well. This is the reaction in the centre up there.

1:36:01 > 1:36:06Wonderful things up there. They have signs up all over the town saying

1:36:06 > 1:36:12come on, Andy. I think you will have to do another open top bus ride

1:36:12 > 1:36:15through there. And so many kids enjoying it as well. I spoke to my

1:36:15 > 1:36:19grandparents briefly after the match, and they went to watch it at

1:36:19 > 1:36:25the local sports club, which is a two-minute walk from their house. It

1:36:25 > 1:36:31is where we grew up playing. It was packed in there with loads of people

1:36:31 > 1:36:36watching it's nice to see. You have walked past the trophy a few times.

1:36:36 > 1:36:40I bet you walked past the Honours board as well. They have got it

1:36:40 > 1:36:44already now - your name on the board. When you walk past it, it

1:36:44 > 1:36:47will probably hit you that you have done it. On the walk to the court,

1:36:48 > 1:36:53when you walk to Centre Court, they have all the pictures up of the

1:36:53 > 1:36:59previous champions. You kind of replay match is over in your head

1:36:59 > 1:37:05when you see those names up there, and what maybe you could have done.

1:37:05 > 1:37:09Just to see your name up there is great. And you had to do it the hard

1:37:09 > 1:37:15way, beating the world number one, a guy who has had a sensational

1:37:15 > 1:37:20tournament. You beat the best to win it. Yes, I think that is the one

1:37:20 > 1:37:27thing that has been challenging for me. I have played in quite a lot of

1:37:27 > 1:37:31grand slam finals, and every time I have come up against Roger or Novak,

1:37:31 > 1:37:35in seven finals I have played, I have always come up against them.

1:37:35 > 1:37:40Roger is probably the greatest player who has ever played, and

1:37:40 > 1:37:45Novak is probably one of the strongest players mentally. It was

1:37:45 > 1:37:50very difficult for me mentally. I have never come up against someone I

1:37:50 > 1:37:55was expected to beat in the final. I have never had experience on my

1:37:55 > 1:37:59side. It was such a tough match today. This was a whole new

1:37:59 > 1:38:04experience, this walk of the champion you do. It is for these

1:38:04 > 1:38:12fans as well. This must have been quite a special moment. It is nice,

1:38:12 > 1:38:15because I have seen this on the TV a few times. I have never seen them

1:38:15 > 1:38:20standing all down the alleyway is there. Where they showing the match

1:38:20 > 1:38:26on Court three? It sounded like it was really busy over there. There

1:38:26 > 1:38:31were so many people in the grounds today. I am glad I did it for them.

1:38:31 > 1:38:37Have you been able to see the family and everyone, and have a chat? You

1:38:37 > 1:38:41look like you are having trouble with a phone call. That was my

1:38:41 > 1:38:47grandparents. They are not good with mobile phones! I have seen most of

1:38:47 > 1:38:51the family so far, and I will see them again this evening. So, I den

1:38:51 > 1:38:57think you have a clear exactly how this will change your life, because

1:38:57 > 1:39:01it is going to change life. Yes, I got asked that before the final last

1:39:01 > 1:39:07year a few times, and in the last couple of days as well. I have no

1:39:07 > 1:39:10idea what to expect now, but the most important thing is I keep the

1:39:10 > 1:39:16same people around me and don't get carried away with any of the extra

1:39:16 > 1:39:22stuff that comes with winning a tournament like that. Hopefully,

1:39:22 > 1:39:25I've still got a few more years left of my career. I don't want to get

1:39:25 > 1:39:29sidetracked. I know how hard I have to work to compete for these

1:39:29 > 1:39:36tournaments, and I want to keep doing it for the next few years if I

1:39:36 > 1:39:41can. You have two titles now. Novak Djokovic, let's play tribute to

1:39:41 > 1:39:48him. He was a very gracious runner up. He gave his all in that match

1:39:48 > 1:39:57today. We had known each other since we were 12 years old. We get on

1:39:57 > 1:40:01pretty well. He fought right until the end of the match. He was down. I

1:40:01 > 1:40:05thought I may be had him at the beginning of the third set. Then he

1:40:05 > 1:40:11came up with some great tennis at that point, and then again at the

1:40:11 > 1:40:20end, when I was serving for it. He is a great player, and mentally, one

1:40:20 > 1:40:22of the strongest players who has ever played again. He has come back

1:40:22 > 1:40:25from so many losing situations in the past to turn the match around.

1:40:25 > 1:40:30He nearly did it again today. your team have been having some

1:40:30 > 1:40:35champagne. I know you probably are not allowed any at the moment. This

1:40:35 > 1:40:40was a great scene in the locker room! I was just trying to stop it

1:40:40 > 1:40:45getting in my eyes! It is a strange atmosphere in the locker room

1:40:45 > 1:40:53afterwards, because it is not that big, and the other team is in their

1:40:53 > 1:40:56at the start too. So you want to try and respect that as well. But

1:40:56 > 1:41:02there's so many people in their afterwards that I've worked with,

1:41:02 > 1:41:11and Tim was in there as well. didn't look like you enjoyed it that

1:41:11 > 1:41:15much. I hate champagne! It burns my throat. You told me that you brush

1:41:15 > 1:41:22your teeth with face cream afterwards! Are you going to have a

1:41:22 > 1:41:30celebration, or are you too weary? We'll see. I will go to the ball. It

1:41:30 > 1:41:37starts at about 9pm. I will do that, and then see how I am feeling. This

1:41:37 > 1:41:42last 30 minutes I have been really, really tired, so maybe tomorrow.

1:41:42 > 1:41:47know you have a lot of interviews to do, and the champions' dinner. Thank

1:41:47 > 1:41:53you for coming in. It was a wonderful, wonderful moment for us

1:41:53 > 1:41:56and for everyone in British sport. Andy is going to leave, and we are

1:41:56 > 1:42:04going to hear from the woman who has been there right from the start. His

1:42:04 > 1:42:09mother, Judy. The party atmosphere is continuing.

1:42:09 > 1:42:15How good does that champagne taste? It is pretty good. I would like to

1:42:15 > 1:42:21have a little bit more of it. But it is pretty good. I am thrilled for

1:42:21 > 1:42:27Andy. And our own, can you believe he has done it? When I saw him get

1:42:27 > 1:42:32the trophy, when I saw him hold it up, I thought, he's done it.

1:42:32 > 1:42:38Obviously, he came close last year. I knew he could do it, but Novak is

1:42:38 > 1:42:44such a great competitor, such a great champion, that I knew it would

1:42:44 > 1:42:52be hard. But he got there in the end. How did you feel when he

1:42:52 > 1:42:56started coming back? Did you think, oh, no? Yes, because he is such a

1:42:56 > 1:43:01great champion. You have to put him away in points, never mind in

1:43:01 > 1:43:06mansions. When Andy was up in the third, I could sense that people

1:43:06 > 1:43:12thought he had it. But I have been in tennis long enough to know that

1:43:12 > 1:43:15it is never over until it is over. Then he lost a few games on the

1:43:15 > 1:43:21trot. Djokovic started playing really well, which you often do when

1:43:21 > 1:43:26your back is against the wall. I am delighted he finished it when he

1:43:26 > 1:43:30did, because I'm not sure my nerves would have stood too much more.

1:43:30 > 1:43:34will have the Wimbledon ball this evening, at which they are going to

1:43:34 > 1:43:42announce that Andy Murray is the Wimbledon champion. That is going to

1:43:42 > 1:43:49sound good, isn't it? It is. I don't usually wear dresses, but I have got

1:43:49 > 1:43:53a dress to wear tonight. It is a Jenny Packham dress. I think I can

1:43:53 > 1:43:59wear the dress tonight, because Andy has won Wimbledon! What a proud

1:43:59 > 1:44:05moment for her. We saw some famous faces in the crowd, including Sir

1:44:05 > 1:44:10Chris Hoy. He knows what it is like to win on the big occasion. Let's

1:44:10 > 1:44:15hear from him. Sir Chris Hoy, what did you make of that?

1:44:15 > 1:44:19A privilege to witness it. 3-0 doesn't do the match justice. It was

1:44:19 > 1:44:25a knife edge on a number of occasions, particularly the last few

1:44:25 > 1:44:29match points. To be there to witness it with his family and his crew, it

1:44:29 > 1:44:33was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am so pleased for him

1:44:33 > 1:44:37and his family, and everyone who was there to support him. You know what

1:44:37 > 1:44:43it is like at the sharp end, when you know you are going to win or

1:44:43 > 1:44:48not. You must have really felt for him today. I did. I have no idea

1:44:48 > 1:44:53what it is like for him, because I was a member of a team. It wasn't

1:44:53 > 1:44:59just down to me. He had the whole nation expecting him to win. He is

1:44:59 > 1:45:04tennis in the UK. It is him. It is Andy Murray. For him to step up with

1:45:04 > 1:45:08all that pressure and all that expectation... It was one of the

1:45:08 > 1:45:14great British sporting moments of all time. What do you think it will

1:45:14 > 1:45:20do for British tennis? You know how popular cycling has become. It will

1:45:20 > 1:45:25boost sport. It will boost entry to sport at all levels. It is not just

1:45:25 > 1:45:29great for tennis. It is great for sport in the UK. People all round

1:45:29 > 1:45:36the world will be happy to see a British winner of Wimbledon for the

1:45:36 > 1:45:42first time in 77 years. We are all very proud of him. Thank you.

1:45:42 > 1:45:48Lovely to hear from Chris. Scotland and Great Britain have two amazing

1:45:48 > 1:45:55sporting icons. Let's hear from Andy's dad now.

1:45:55 > 1:45:58Here is a very proud dad. A party atmosphere. What do you think?

1:45:58 > 1:46:04has been fantastic. It has been a great day. I have loved every minute

1:46:04 > 1:46:10of it. What was it like sitting there on those match points? It was

1:46:10 > 1:46:18getting a bit icy, but he managed to pull it off, and that is all that

1:46:18 > 1:46:22mattered. You wonder if he is ever going to get there in the end, but

1:46:22 > 1:46:25he achieved it, and that is all that matters. When he was there, point

1:46:25 > 1:46:32after point, and you were worried if he was going to come back... What

1:46:32 > 1:46:38was it like? It was great. You have to have moments like that. Andy did

1:46:38 > 1:46:42so well. He is obviously feeling pretty tired now, and I thought it

1:46:42 > 1:46:46was terrific. It is absolutely wonderful that you will have seen

1:46:46 > 1:46:50him growing up, hitting the ball in the back garden, and now, Centre

1:46:50 > 1:46:55Court is just behind you, and he is the Wimbledon champion. Some up what

1:46:55 > 1:47:02that means to you. It is very difficult to do that at the moment.

1:47:02 > 1:47:07It is a terrific achievement. It will take a few weeks, a few months,

1:47:07 > 1:47:11before it settles in. But it feels good just now. What would you do to

1:47:11 > 1:47:19celebrate tonight? I will certainly have a few glasses of champagne, and

1:47:19 > 1:47:24I am sure the rest of the family will too. Very well done.Thank you.

1:47:24 > 1:47:29I am sure a few people will have a few glasses of champagne tonight.

1:47:29 > 1:47:34What a day it has been. You could see how exhausted he was in the

1:47:34 > 1:47:44studio. You can relive it all again this evening with Today At

1:47:44 > 1:47:44

1:47:44 > 1:47:47Wimbledon, at 10:25pm. And tomorrow, at 9pm. We will see all

1:47:47 > 1:47:54those behind-the-scenes and the celebrations that happened today.

1:47:54 > 1:47:59What an amazing story, and what a 12 month this young man has had. So, as

1:47:59 > 1:48:05Andy tries to go and recover, we will head to Centre Court. We are in

1:48:05 > 1:48:15the final set of this Mixed Doubles final, with Soares and Raymond 4-3

1:48:15 > 1:48:15

1:48:15 > 1:48:22up in the final set. Let's rejoin MICK MULLINS: Break points on either

1:48:22 > 1:48:25side of the net have come and gone. We are still on serve, but little

1:48:25 > 1:48:35French alarm bells will begin to ring in the head of young Christina

1:48:35 > 1:48:46

1:48:46 > 1:48:50There's Marion Bartoli supporting her friend, Mladenovic. But it is

1:48:50 > 1:49:00alarm bells here, because they were looking so good in the second set.

1:49:00 > 1:49:13

1:49:13 > 1:49:21And it looked like Lisa Raymond and the evening. What time is the cab

1:49:21 > 1:49:27booked? It is not a ball. It is a dinner. But it is always very late.

1:49:27 > 1:49:33You have to wait for Andy to do all of his interviews. But I do think it

1:49:33 > 1:49:41worries her in the slightest. She is just over the moon. -- I do not

1:49:41 > 1:49:49think. You tend to think the party won't start until she gets there,

1:49:49 > 1:49:53anyway. Well, it won't start until Andy gets there, because he is still

1:49:53 > 1:49:58doing a tonne of interviews. They will have some stories to talk about

1:49:58 > 1:50:03when they sit next to each other. It is a very nice event, because you

1:50:03 > 1:50:12get all the junior champions, and the legends, and everybody going.

1:50:12 > 1:50:16is just warm and nice. I don't know who her plus one will be. It might

1:50:16 > 1:50:22be Kristina Mladenovic. They might just both go as Wimbledon champion -

1:50:22 > 1:50:27you never know! A tricky second serve there. A slow one. She has

1:50:27 > 1:50:37bombed in some at high speed. She has served some aces. She has served

1:50:37 > 1:50:55

1:50:55 > 1:51:00a double fault as well. That one was those tosses. It looks like she was

1:51:00 > 1:51:05a little nervous with herb Althoff. Two doubles in this game. Her

1:51:05 > 1:51:15decision now is whether to go for a big serve, having just served a

1:51:15 > 1:51:29

1:51:29 > 1:51:39UMPIRE: Nestor and Miss Mladenovic are challenging the call. Out! I

1:51:39 > 1:51:41

1:51:41 > 1:51:50can't believe it. By a blade.Of all the close once we have seen, I think

1:51:50 > 1:52:00that might be the closest. There is a God! And he speaks French. And he

1:52:00 > 1:52:30

1:52:30 > 1:52:36serves, but has passed is wandering tension of what we saw as a little

1:52:36 > 1:52:46aperitif on Centre Court earlier, but this is the perfect ending

1:52:46 > 1:52:47

1:52:47 > 1:52:54tonight on the perfect seeds, Bruno Soares and Lisa

1:52:54 > 1:53:04Raymond, start to exert some dominance on it? I don't think they

1:53:04 > 1:53:16

1:53:16 > 1:53:26dropped a set in this championship serve against Daniel Nestor, the

1:53:26 > 1:53:26

1:53:26 > 1:54:40Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:54:40 > 1:54:50colours the returns have been very of the match, and it has been won by

1:54:50 > 1:54:56

1:54:56 > 1:55:06to finish. Particularly down the line, and then a few little hooks

1:55:06 > 1:55:08

1:55:08 > 1:55:18UMPIRE: Soares and Miss raiment are challenging the call. The ball was

1:55:18 > 1:55:44

1:55:44 > 1:55:54women's title with Renee Stubbs. She was doubles champion with Leander

1:55:54 > 1:56:08

1:56:08 > 1:56:18pays as long ago as 1999. -- Leander going out. Please go out! She was

1:56:18 > 1:56:54

1:56:54 > 1:56:59challenging in media to the. Well, defending champion, that close to

1:56:59 > 1:57:05winning the title again. I guess when you are that close, Virginia,

1:57:05 > 1:57:11it can still feel like 1 million miles away, particularly the way

1:57:11 > 1:57:20their opponents have played so far. There have just been a couple of

1:57:20 > 1:57:24little chinks on the women's serves on both sides. The last thing you

1:57:24 > 1:57:32can think about is, I am getting close to winning. You can't even

1:57:32 > 1:57:37think that, because it is Nestor's serve coming up. He has been serving

1:57:37 > 1:57:42some rockets. And a very awkward serve. I am still having trouble

1:57:42 > 1:57:46even guessing who is going to win this. They have both had their

1:57:46 > 1:57:52brilliance is, and a few little things where the other team have

1:57:52 > 1:58:02been better. That is what it is all about, I guess. The responsibility

1:58:02 > 1:58:08

1:58:08 > 1:58:14of staying in this final rests on stages, you can easily get a bit

1:58:14 > 1:58:24tight on your serve. The decision is whether to go for a slightly more

1:58:24 > 1:58:27cautious first serve. Or all out, like that! He has had a lot of

1:58:27 > 1:58:37success with that left-handed serve out to the forehand of Lisa

1:58:37 > 1:58:37

1:58:37 > 1:59:27Apology for the loss of subtitles for 125 seconds

1:59:27 > 1:59:36Raymond. It is a very awkward serve has gone to ready herself for the

1:59:36 > 1:59:46party... I can't believe she would want to miss her mate winning a

1:59:46 > 2:00:10

2:00:10 > 2:00:18much success in doubles recently. However, it was the pure power of

2:00:18 > 2:00:24the Canadian, the muscle of Nestor, that saw them home there. And they

2:00:24 > 2:00:30still can't be split in this third set decider. This is a game,

2:02:22 > 2:02:30seeing who is going to be the weak bit of an iffy service game, the
